26. 4:53it in mid Journey ideogram and um Dolly 3 and it's really interesting how the three of them did what they did and Dolly 3 did better um
27. 5:07it's it's funny I think for some things Dolly 3 is going to be way better than mid journey I think for other stuff not so

32. 5:49mind-blowing and um I've been deep diving into this generative AI stuff for about the past two years and so what we
33. 5:56do here is we just talk about that I'm I normally go on little earlier than this but I was out mcing a fundraiser being
34. 6:04an Auctioneer yay that's why I have the fancy shirt so what I'm going to do I'm going to go change my shirt so you all

40. 7:24here that I I'm going to do just a mini version of wrong presentation wrong presentation right presentation wrong slide okay if
41. 7:38you're brand new to generative AI if you've not played with Chad GPT and you're like why is everybody talking about chat gbt what's chat gbt
42. 7:48why should I go to chat gbt chat gbt stupid I don't like AI the robots are going to kill us if you're like that
43. 7:54it's okay we still embrace you we still welcome you into the Insanity that is chat add the AI learning lab
44. 8:04um go to chat. open.com right now just go there just do it and um just start playing with it so so what
45. 8:17you can do is ask it to write you a song about and then give it some obscure topic that you know something about ask
46. 8:24it to write you a project plan for something at work ask it to um if you if you speak two languages ask it
47. 8:33to respond you're going to you're going to tell it something in English and have it respond in in another language
48. 8:39especially if you know that language just have it write you code just ask it to write you a a Python program and just
49. 8:46watch what it does um the other two here Bard and Claude are also things you can play with but if you're just getting
50. 8:53started just go to chat GPT just play with it and then prompt. chat that little thing down below there that's
51. 8:58like a little primer that will tell you kind of how these things work these large language models is what they're
52. 9:04called and it will give you some prompts you can literally just copy and paste into chat GPT and just play with it so
53. 9:11as if if you decide to stay here and if you don't listen I get it old man trying to do something on Tik Tok questionable
54. 9:19you know qualifications I understand I wouldn't stay either I'm with you but if you decide to stay just start [ __ ]
55. 9:28around on that thing because good things will happen you will likely have what we call here your Kevin McAllister moment which is this
56. 9:35moment I didn't know I could do that and then once you have that moment then you really start to dig into this stuff and
57. 9:42you really start to understand what's happening what's coming and how quickly it's coming because it's not so much that
58. 9:49it's coming it's that it's here and it's not going away um all right so let's get the questions let's get to oh what did I

87. 14:33of five major players right now there were only four now there's five one of the one of the themes of this channel is
88. 14:43that there's like one good thing and then there's like oh now there's two good things and oh crap now there's
89. 14:49three good things now there's four good things it's happening with everything it's happening with the large language
90. 14:55models it's happening with the image models so you've got Adobe Firefly and Photoshop generator fill so you got the
91. 15:03Adobe product it's good it's not great but it hasn't been trained on copywritten images so if you work at a
92. 15:12big company Adobe is the way to go it just is um I'll come back to Dolly 3 cuz cuz that one's a potential alternative to um
93. 15:26to the Adobe product so you got Adobe then you've got mid Journey mid journey is the best in terms of quality of image subtlety of
94. 15:35image mid journey is good in fact let me some of you have been here before like Kyle you got a slide for this I
95. 15:46know so you got you got these four plus you have stable diffusion and stable diffusion is like a whole world
96. 15:54in and of itself so if you're super geeky go peek out on stable diffusion and learn about luras and control net
97. 16:02and all that sort of [ __ ] and install your own Google collab notebooks and go [ __ ] nuts the the developer Community
98. 16:09for stable diffusion is good if you don't want to do that there's a fifth option here called
99. 16:27leonardo.da which is the one that's doing all these all these images with with the letters on them and uh and then you've got Firefly
100. 16:39okay the Adobe products Dolly 3 so Dolly 2 which was shitty for a year and really not usable cuz it was so bad was just
101. 16:48replaced by Dolly 3 now this is supposed to be coming out in chat GPT 4 in that thing so that in context of um working
102. 17:00in chat GPT you can make images but being Microsoft went on ahead and released this without much fanfare so let's go
103. 17:12play so we're going to go to Just bing.com and there's there's three ways that you can play with this one is just
104. 17:22at bing.com I think you can even do it at this one but I go to chat so there's the chat button so I go to chat and this
105. 17:29is Microsoft's version of chat GPT 4 it's not as good as chat GPT 4 from o Open AI because their safety guard rails are too big but it's
106. 17:42good and it now has um Dolly 3 within it so what I can say is let's
107. 17:57see oh wait create a llama walking
108. 18:12through a horse race track stop responding create a llama walking through a horse racetrack with a number
109. 18:24two on its head and a banner that says a learning lab over its back period the crowd is cheering as the Llama looks at the start
110. 18:43line and then oops hold and then we'll just hit return and now it's going to go make that image Okay so
111. 18:59um wait I'm sorry but I prefer not to continue this conversation I'm still learning so I appreciate your understanding and patience
112. 19:10why why did it why did it not want to hey remember remember what I said before that that Bing safety guard rails are
113. 19:19weird and not good uh yeah let me try this again I might need to start the conversation over oh it made it okay whatever I

115. 19:41correctly it's at a racetrack it's a llama at a racet track there's a llama racing horses which is pretty cute this
116. 19:49is kind of a really Dopey um illustration style I didn't give it any direction so one of the things about so
117. 19:55so the question was how do you do um images the thing about Dolly 3 this new thing is that it is it it seems to be quite
118. 20:09remarkable at including the elements that you say to include so let's let's try another one uh you know what you
119. 20:16know what we're even going to do we're going to go to um chat GPT rather than me trying to write the prompt let's have
120. 20:22chat GPT write the prompt so I'm going to use chat GPT 4 now I'll use 3.5 because it's the free one so if you just
121. 20:30have access to the free one you can do this too play along um I want you to help me write a prompt for Dolly 3 to
122. 20:46create an image period please fill in as many details and variables as possible period I'd like you to create a photorealistic steampunk
123. 21:01room where a evil hacker is the one who really controls the world
124. 21:17comma but it's clear that he's a pimply teen living in his mom's basement period
125. 21:32oh man all right this is way too long so so I'm just going to say okay that was good but it looks like it's way too long can you consolidate
126. 21:41that into a single image prompt okay create a photo realistic steampunk themed room with an an with antique machinery and a large window
127. 21:54overlooking a Victorian cityscape in the center a pimply faed teenager in a hoodie sits in a steam powered computer
128. 22:03console surrounded by clutter his screens display Global Control Systems while his mother voice mother's voice calls from
129. 22:12upstairs um okay let's say add some more details and add a talk bubble coming from upstairs about what
130. 22:22his mother is actually saying period it should be humorous let's see if we can get chat GPT to write us a
131. 22:30joke all right and now it's too long again great but now it's too long again can you make it a single paragraph that captures those basic
132. 22:44ideas okay photo realistic steampunk room cluttered Decor window but in the center pimpley oversized hoodie grinning as he manipulates
133. 22:54surrounding him are pizza boxes vintage Machinery steampunk elements above his head a talk bubble from upstairs
134. 23:00humorously exclaims honey are you hacking the world again dinner's ready and don't forget to wash your hands
135. 23:07before taking over the universe okay we'll get rid of that last part cuz the the it was funny enough without the
136. 23:15explaining the joke to the audience okay so that's so where's our little Bing window hold I lost my Bing it's all right
137. 23:27another way you can get to the Bing creat is go to bing.com create and then I'm going to pop
138. 23:41in okay so it cut off it cut off the image dinner's ready all right that's
139. 23:56good so let's see what this does is that
140. 24:13generating creating okay we're off so signed into Bard how do I get to Creator mode not Bard Bing bing.com
141. 24:31okay so there's kind of a steampunk thing it do honey okay that the all right honey are you hacking the
142. 24:43world again dinner's ready that didn't quite get it that's coming from him this is this is coming from one of the things
143. 24:49behind him but this is actually pretty good like so the the pizza box is full of pizzas not good um they should be
144. 24:56empty right but this is is totally steampunk he's totally hacking the world he should be in his mother's basement not overlooking the city
145. 25:09um anyway so so the thing about about generating images is is just experiment just play so the the down so here's where do even
146. 25:24begin the the amazing thing about Dolly 3 is it its coherence the fact that it can capture all of that detail and put it in
147. 25:35there even though it got some things wrong I could dick around with that that prompt and and get it right over
148. 25:41time um Dolly right now this Bing version of it doesn't give you the ability to kind of remix things and
149. 25:50change things up so let me let me show you another tool which is um ideogram and this is a similar kind of similar
150. 26:02kind of tool we've updated our terms of service by the way if you've never read terms of service you can now like copy
151. 26:11go to the terms of service copy and paste it into something like claw. and have it summarize it for you so you can
152. 26:17actually read what you read what you're agreeing to um so I'm going to do the same prompt I'm just going to paste the
153. 26:25exact same prompt that I put into Dolly 3 into here and let's see what this does with it and I'm also doing this as a landscaped
154. 26:45image oh it's actually looking not dissimilar to what we saw over there kind of cool generation progress 76% 82% that's
155. 26:55new for them that that's they didn't used to give you progress updates um is this working no mouse is not
156. 27:14charged all right that one's pretty cool that one's really cool actually doesn't have any of the words on it
157. 27:26though so so so so notice the coherence isn't quite as good here so but one of the cool things that you can do on um
158. 27:37ideogram that you can't do on do right now is this this remix button so I can say remix and it's going to use this
159. 27:44image as the starting point and I can give it a weight Image Weight you know plus or minus so if I want it heavily
160. 27:53weighted I go up to five if I want it to just kind of be a hint of that image I'll put it to maybe a two or three
161. 28:00we'll just leave it at three generate a photo realistic steampunk room Let's do let's do a um uh let's do a an
162. 28:13illustration of a steampunk room clutter I don't want a grand window revealing a Victorian cityscape clutter Decor in a basement apart heart
163. 28:30me uh um um above his head wait not above his head um let's see from
164. 28:45upstairs a talk bubble um humorously exclaims honey are you hacking the world again dinner's
165. 29:00ready and we'll put it in quote marks and then I'm going to get rid of the end of this cuz I think that confused it
166. 29:06okay so now I've got a more clear prompt so I'm going to say generate and it's going to generate it you know using that
167. 29:12one kind of as the as the inspiration but not you know super strict and so now I can start to see if I got closer and hopefully one of at
168. 29:23least one of these will have a talk bubble again this isn't quite as good as Dolly 3 in terms of its coherence where
169. 29:31it it just one of the frustrating things with these tools is if you try to get really specific things in it it's not
170. 29:38good at that um so again in this case none of these have the talk bubble in them but they're kind of cool nice all right okay anyway um that
171. 29:56that's it so so I don't know if that gave you um what you need the the there are lots and lots of sites that will tell you all sorts of
172. 30:07different ways to interact with these things um one thing that may help you is this thing on the bottom of the slide
173. 30:14here promptbook go to open art. promptbook and it will teach you how to how how these IM it'll teach you all of the things that these image
174. 30:27models know and they know a lot and it'll teach you things like you can use camera lenses or film types or
175. 30:34illustration types or art styles or art mediums or photographic terms or sculpture terms just all of it it knows
176. 30:46all of it because the way these image models work is is they they're combining the large language models that we play
177. 30:54with with chat gbt with these things called in these cases diffusion models which are the picture part and they're
178. 31:00they're marrying them together so they know a tremendous amount about being able to create stuff so the more
179. 31:07educated you can get in how to um talk to them it's like with all these things with with all these generative AI things
180. 31:15this is all about the quality of the questions that you ask over time they're going to get better and better at
181. 31:21prompting themselves so this is not a skill that we're is going to be required for long but right now if you want good
182. 31:27results you got to get better at talking to the machines you got to get better better oh Nicholas reached level 11

189. 32:45phone cuz I'm going to go look for um chat GPT for my iPad I wonder if I'll get it there see I don't have access to

204. 35:22remember but I think I think you're a man um but if we're allowed I don't know that we're allowed to say that anymore cuz I don't
205. 35:31know I you know I I identify as as a douche [Laughter] um it's about like have the idea figure out what's the problem you want to solve
206. 35:45and then use generative AI to help you do that better faster and and you don't have to wait around right if you wanted to do a
207. 35:55coloring book aor Al if you couldn't draw all that stuff or even if you could but you didn't have the patience and
208. 36:01you're like yeah that's too much now you can just do it put it out there as an experiment maybe it works maybe it
209. 36:07doesn't but at least you've created something and then you can go oh you know what that gives me an idea for I've
210. 36:12always wanted to do a graphic novel I wonder if I could do that and then you start working on that it's all about
211. 36:18what you're doing and how you're Imagining the kinds of things you want to create or the kinds of problems you
212. 36:25want to solve and then figure out which AI tool can do that not the other way around it's not how do I use AI it's what do I want to
213. 36:36do and then I figure out how to use AI subtle but like critical difference cuz you can make money with that's [ __ ] so all
214. 36:52right Moving On Moving On Moving On Up bot let's see where were we with the questions I hope that helped with the
215. 37:03image stuff what's the best music Creator in AI I am woefully behind on music creators there's one called sound
216. 37:12draw sound raw s o u n d r a w I think it's thata hang on let me see what it is that is not really AI they're using
217. 37:25some AI but it's not really AI music generation sound ra it's sound raw. no it's not damn it oh the the the autofill with um with
218. 37:39your URLs if you typed in a wrong one once really sucks it's doio okay so sound raw. iio is kind of like
219. 37:54um what's it called Garage Band their Loop their Loop composer but what's cool about it is if you just need like background music for
220. 38:06a video or something like that it doesn't need to be slick it's it's super simple right it's you can try it for
221. 38:13free you basically just pick a genre like let's go I don't know funny and weird that's what this channel is so
222. 38:20we're going to K click on funny and weird as a category and now it's just going to make 20 songs and and then I
223. 38:26can I can say oh I don't want posan in there I do want acoustic guitars I don't want whatever and it and it just makes these kind of loop
224. 38:38mixes come on come on you can do [Music] it
225. 38:55um so so the thing about this one is the loops that they've put together are all fine right and then they're just
226. 39:01basically remixing them and so it's making Fine Music so if you just need okay music this is really fast um there are a lot of other music
227. 39:12players out there so what I would say is because I haven't been following them like I've been following the image stuff
228. 39:19the video stuff and the word stuff go to either of those top two things futur pedia.com those are both directories of AI tools I
229. 39:37would be surprised if there weren't if there were less than 300 AI image generation tools I'd be surprised so go figure out which ones
230. 39:48are the highly High highly rated ones the other thing that's probably worth doing is go to Reddit and go into just
231. 39:58just search for AI music and see what subreddits are there that are talking about this because any of that stuff whatever
232. 40:06is being talked about you know consistently is probably decent so some combination of a tool like this with
233. 40:12their ratings and Reddit you'll you'll find something good and then sound draws the one that I know that's just kind of
234. 40:19cool um just because it's like if you just need crappy background music for videos that's good enough that it's
235. 40:28perfect for that and and you know I'm while I'm kind of you know talking about it like in a in a like like real musicians you know look
236. 40:41at [ __ ] like this and they like yeah it's not real music I needed to get 20 songs written for my company Story vine for background
237. 40:50music cuz we were dealing with some copyright stuff and I went to real music musicians and it was a [ __ ] nightmare it was
238. 40:59cuz we didn't need great music right so we didn't need to go to like a music composition house we're not we're not
239. 41:05scoring films this is like background music for you know crappy healthc care videos and it took us months it took us months
240. 41:17like we had to find like seven or eight musicians and like half of them flaked out one didn't speak English um
241. 41:27the the three that we ended up hiring one took forever and then one was bad and then one was great and got stuff
242. 41:36done but even the one that was great and got stuff done we had to go back and forth we had to go back and forth I
243. 41:44don't know it it took like two months and so I can go right into this tool and just bang knock it out like that
244. 41:54um and and I I think that that points to I me I've been thinking a lot about content generation and hang on let me flip back

247. 42:27Dolly 3 is good at is is keeping a character consistent across prompts um but let me talk about content for a second because I I know that
248. 42:39um especially among creative professionals AI is a touchy [ __ ] subject and a lot a lot of people are really pissed off and a lot of people
249. 42:47really scared and they get it the thing I've been thinking about is this there are kind of three tiers of content
250. 42:57there's a tier of content that's like what I just described I don't really give a [ __ ] if it's brilliant I just
251. 43:05need it to be good enough it's going to serve as like a 5-second mood establisher at the beginning of a video
252. 43:12and then you're not even going to notice it right there's another tier of content which is I need a lot of content but I
253. 43:18need it to be really good it's sort of content at scale or it's content that's quick turnaround or it's you know I'm
254. 43:25working for an agent and the client wants us to turn around you know 50 headlines really quick but it they got
255. 43:30to be good and they got to be up to a certain standard and then there's art right there's there there's good content
256. 43:39there's well-crafted well executed content those are three very dist distinct things and I think right now
257. 43:48the conversations are getting collapsed like this AI right now is really good at this bottom one well not really
258. 43:59good it can do this bottom one it it requires you to know which tools to use it requires you to to to pick [ __ ] up
259. 44:09this middle one requires a lot of human interaction and a lot of back and forth and this upper one still is primarily a
260. 44:18human function I think as these tools get more sophisticated this the the sort of higher function of content generation
261. 44:26is going to be invaded by these tools right but but it it feels to me that that a lot of the emotion right now is
262. 44:37artists saying I don't want to be I don't want I don't want my work to be thought of as this crap but there's a
263. 44:43lot of work that that that's that crap that if companies didn't have to pay a lot for it they would use it a lot more
264. 44:53and that's the stuff that's going to be automated really really quickly as you move up that pyramid of quality it it requires more human
265. 45:02involvement and I think that top tier of of of content is going to require human involvement for a long long time what's
266. 45:09a good out paint AI I can't seem to find one that works on existing images and isn't right is an adobe so I was going
267. 45:17to say Adobe um so that works on existing images
268. 45:32Leonardo does it I don't know how it I I don't know how um I haven't used it in a while you go to the canvas in Leonardo so try Leonardo

287. 49:18pan so if you know mid Journey you can do that but it's it's not as easy to start with an existing image that you
288. 49:25did outside of mid journey and just have it extend that I don't think so again we're getting into sort of nuance
