1:57 champy the people want a performance you
2:00 can't help
2:03 yourself good evening everybody Welcome
2:06 to the AI learning
2:07 lab we are here we're here we're going
2:10 to get going it's just like we' never
2:12 stopped last
2:15 night that 24-hour thing was an absolute
2:21 Madness I was still a little Punchy
2:23 today for the tardies like myself
2:26 present Turtles llamas hedgehogs all
2:31 right welcome do you know what happened
2:34 to the launch of the GPT store
2:37 yes they fired Sam mman and everyone
2:40 lost their [ __ ] and they're like maybe
2:41 we should slow roll this
2:44 [Laughter]
2:48 [ __ ] the
2:50 uh the the amount of disruption that
2:53 this probably caused while it was only a
2:56 week
2:58 um you know especially when it comes to
3:01 software
3:02 development date night with Kyle hey I
3:05 am China awesome
3:07 welcome um the in software development
3:12 you know a two-day Interruption is often
3:15 way more than a two-day Interruption
3:16 because you interrupt the flow of things
3:19 you know they had 770 or 790 people that
3:24 essentially just stopped you know for
3:27 for for a week and there's probably a
3:29 week of like all right should I unpack
3:32 the
3:33 box back into my desk what are we doing
3:36 here um
3:40 so it it seemed like Sam might have been
3:43 rushing the GPT store anyway oh yeah if
3:47 you would do me a favor and like and
3:49 share share the uh live um a good hobby
3:55 a good hobby for some of the Irregulars
3:56 here is when you share the live be sure
3:59 you share it with people who it will
4:00 make
4:03 cranky why are you sharing this AI stuff
4:06 with me you know I don't like this AI
4:08 stuff give you the hairy eye speaking of
4:11 hairy eyes I trimmed the eyebrows they
4:13 were starting to take on a life of their
4:14 own so hopefully it's a little more
4:16 pleasant for y'all I was looking like a
4:18 bad
4:21 Professor
4:25 um I saw that there is a new feature in
4:28 Leonardo you know the thing where you
4:30 draw in one panel and it and it renders
4:33 it in the other panel that's now that's
4:35 now inside Leonardo which is super cool
4:38 so we'll play with that a little bit hey
4:40 Drew what's shaking What's Happening
4:44 have you looked into the dark side of AI
4:46 unethical AI I haven't I haven't looked
4:48 a ton into it
4:51 um I assume there's a lot there I think
4:54 the you know the black hat the black hat
4:56 hackers are probably having a field day
4:58 right now um as are probably the white
5:01 hack hackers trying to thwart the black
5:04 hack hackers hacker going to
5:06 hack
5:08 um no I haven't I haven't I haven't dug
5:11 in too much into that it might be
5:12 something to look into um I so so a
5:15 little thing about this channel if if if
5:17 you're new here um my background is as
5:20 an entrepreneur what's that scene look
5:22 like I I am sure there's a whole
5:27 subreddit series of channels
5:30 uh where you can probably go pretty deep
5:32 on that stuff um I don't know it just
5:35 feels it feels I don't know it just it
5:37 does not appeal to me Tik Tok is glitchy
5:40 tonight froze did your internet freeze
5:43 maybe let me go see if the boys are
5:45 downloading crap
5:58 and
6:28 for
6:58 e
7:12 well I don't know I think it's just
7:15 shitty internet that that internet
7:17 shitty it's you it's not you it's Tik
7:19 Tock that's going to be my new motto in
7:22 life it's not me it's tick
7:24 tock why are you acting like an [ __ ]
7:27 oh it's not me it's Tik tock all right
7:30 is it still bad is it still bad am I
7:32 here hello people hello hello hello
7:38 hello hey Marge is how do I know if the
7:42 Tik tok's
7:43 on Marge honey Marge honey hey hey could
7:48 you put that biscuit down how do I know
7:50 if the Tik tok's
7:52 on does what are there little hearts
7:55 going yeah there's little hearts going
7:57 oh I'm live what's that mean they can
8:00 see
8:01 me where do I
8:03 look all right
8:07 fine why is BR through your new image up
8:11 there that was that was one of the
8:14 lovely uh fan trolls uh fan troll images
8:18 that was created either by Joker or steo
8:21 uh and it just cracks me the hell up so
8:23 so I put it up there here we can we we
8:26 can change that why is it not going
8:30 what's happening oh cuz it was the last
8:33 [Music]
8:37 image oh we'll do this this from
8:41 Ted we're all good leave those boys
8:45 alone boys I'm like boys could someone
8:48 in this house read a [ __ ] manual cuz
8:50 you know I'm not going to you can't see
8:52 what that is that's a bunch of boxes
8:53 that say AI learning lab which is very
8:55 cute but it doesn't play well on the
8:57 little the little mini screen here we'll
8:59 give COC we do a Coca-Cola ad here we
9:03 go for every uh for every minute I have
9:06 this on screen I get
9:13 $10 oh oh you're a card Tick Tock you
9:17 are a card how do you screen
9:22 share I'm not going to call myself the
9:25 king of Tik Tok but let's just say me
9:27 and dar are like this okay
9:39 um there's a thing when you go live
9:41 called duel du and it just that's my
9:45 back of the phone camera see hand
9:50 hand and that's a laptop sitting on a
9:53 motorcycle helmet
9:57 box it's this is is a class operation
10:02 here digital Gods thank you so
10:04 much thank you thank you thank you thank
10:07 you thank you thank you thank you you
10:10 missed Dar I know I know Dar was in here
10:12 during the live that was nice I don't
10:14 know if that was the same Dar though I
10:16 think it was a different I think it was
10:17 someone who just absconded dar's name I
10:20 don't think Dar is a
10:23 fan but you never know the Tik Tok
10:27 Community she is a strange one she is a
10:29 strange one you get $10 or pay $10
10:34 exactly dual
10:37 Dar OT thank you so much those lightning
10:40 bolts very nice appreciate that Dar is
10:43 an AI generated live ticktocker Tik Tock
10:47 influencer that battle was epic that
10:49 battle was that battle I'm glad it was
10:51 epic because it's the last one we'll
10:52 ever have
10:55 here I felt I felt more slimy after
10:58 doing that last B wow that
11:01 was I just engagement farming [ __ ]
11:05 drives me [ __ ] nuts oh drives me nuts
11:09 like you know let's just [ __ ] hang
11:11 out and talk Robert Rossy thank you so
11:15 much all right
11:18 uh it wasn't the bedazzled D she was
11:22 very bedazzled the night we met she
11:24 asked for it no no you missed the second
11:27 one Broody hen she came back she she she
11:31 came back for an
11:33 ambush I I thought we were going to
11:35 smoke her again and she came back with
11:38 some some uh she she had some players
11:42 she had some players in reserve what are
11:44 you drinking tonight just just the your
11:47 basic uh whiskey and
11:52 milk little little Java a little Java
11:56 she lit us up it was it was I was
11:59 stinging I was stinging after that beat
12:01 down she beat us so bad she's like he's
12:04 never going to battle again we beat him
12:05 so bad he's never going to battle again
12:08 and she was right she hired a ragtag
12:11 bunch of mercenaries she did uh working
12:14 on an article that geni is Battle wait
12:18 is a battle of Have and Have Nots haves
12:21 are small and medium businesses who
12:24 aren't afraid to use it great
12:26 article large companies are afraid to
12:29 use it it yeah th yeah this is this is
12:32 going to be a really interesting 2024 is
12:35 going to be [ __ ] Fascinating People
12:37 it won't be fascinating because the big
12:40 companies are going to be like we got we
12:42 got time
12:45 it's and the small companies are going
12:47 to be like holy [ __ ] we can do that
12:49 now are you sure
12:53 okay should we like take down the big
12:57 company really
13:01 big companies are going to be like what
13:02 are these pesky mosquitoes oh my God oh
13:04 my God get them off get them
13:07 off it's going to be
13:11 wild all right I on China I gave a a
13:14 demo to a VB P today and a bunch of
13:16 folks was so nervous makes me appreciate
13:19 what you do oh thank you very much I'll
13:21 tell you what you know what helps go
13:23 live seven nights a week for two or
13:25 three hours and the nerves
13:28 dissipate
13:30 the first two or three months of this I
13:32 I would basically start flop sweating
13:35 and getting high anxiety and now I'm
13:37 just like I'm going live whatever uh it
13:40 really it really is just a matter of
13:42 practice and and here's the thing I on
13:44 China like you're in here enough the the
13:46 nature of the questions you ask like you
13:49 are you are so significantly ahead of
13:54 most people if you if you're in here on
13:56 a regular basis just being Cur just
13:58 being curious ious and just [ __ ]
14:00 around a little bit here and there you
14:02 are so far ahead of most people that
14:05 McKenzie that McKenzie study that came
14:07 out like a month ago that showed in the
14:10 past year we went from like it was like
14:15 88% of people hadn't used chat GPT at
14:18 the beginning of the year and like a
14:21 month ago or whenever the study was it
14:23 was like 82% like it would been it' been
14:26 a Sixpoint
14:28 increase but 80% of people are not using
14:32 chat
14:34 GPT maybe next year's a 48 M hour
14:37 marathon I will fly to Australia and
14:40 trip you 48 hour marathon I was I was on
14:45 I was on a call today and someone goes
14:47 hey that live was great I think we
14:48 should do these 24-hour things a couple
14:50 of times a month I'm like you [ __ ] do
14:53 do a 24-hour thing a couple of times a
14:56 month we should do one for the children
14:58 okay
15:00 if you're in here Mark
15:03 Hi here's she with me bye Drake No No
15:07 Siri Siri
15:18 no hey
15:21 Siri H go
15:24 away
15:28 okay
15:35 she's just jealous she wants to be the
15:37 center of
15:41 attention I mean if I were still with
15:43 Sydney I don't I can't even imagine how
15:46 insufferable she'd be Sydney and I are
15:48 are long since broken up though all
15:50 right held a live today with my
15:53 community and started aiing and showed
15:55 chat GPT to newbies oh cool that's
15:58 awesome
15:59 which did you show did you do like a
16:01 pottery kind of uh GPT that's super
16:05 cool um I spoke with wait I just loog
16:08 there were there was a double pinning
16:09 there uh
16:11 so yeah cuno mods be careful not to pin
16:16 over each other okay wait I spoke with a
16:18 friend who has gp4 subscription and had
16:20 no idea about custom instructions she
16:23 Kevin
16:24 [Laughter]
16:27 mallister I just the the layers of what
16:31 chat GPT can do what what hit me so I
16:34 think it was yeah it was it was
16:36 yesterday there there are a lot of uh
16:38 memory lapses from the past 24 hours but
16:41 one of the things that I built yesterday
16:43 was
16:45 um a GPT of one of my screen plays my
16:48 first screenplay the first screenplay I
16:50 ever wrote in 91 or
16:52 92 and um I made a GPT of it and so Cory
16:58 no did healthc care tables for
17:01 scheduling workers and patients oh cool
17:03 oh that's really
17:04 cool very nice did they have did any any
17:08 Kevin McAllister moments in the group
17:10 I'm sure there was it was really fun
17:11 from lunatick that's super cool um so so
17:15 I built this I built this GPT that um
17:20 you can interact with my screenplay and
17:22 ask it about scenes and like what's the
17:24 lead character do and what are the
17:26 important scenes and then it makes us
17:29 storyboard frame about the scene it just
17:33 described and and I'm sitting there now
17:36 and I'm thinking like I'm I'm thinking
17:37 like he that's really cool I could send
17:41 that out
17:42 to producers in Hollywood and producers
17:44 in Hollywood that might not have seen
17:46 [ __ ] like that like feel like a year
17:47 from now everyone's going to be doing
17:49 that but like I could get someone
17:51 excited about a screenplay I wrote 30
17:53 years ago just cuz they can interact
17:54 with it in this in this way and then I
17:57 also thought like over the coming months
18:01 as chat GPT adds other modalities like
18:04 say music and video and animation into
18:09 the
18:10 multimodality you'll be able to interact
18:12 with the screenplay and at some point
18:14 you're going to be able to just go let
18:16 me watch this in whatever style um could
18:19 you repin what what Corey said there I
18:21 just missed it because I was blabbing I
18:24 was blabbing away I was just talking I'm
18:27 a little stuffed up it's it's you know
18:29 it's just the remnants of a 24-hour talk
18:36 session I also asked GPT to create a
18:39 list of pottery chemicals and their
18:41 properties and uses oh that's pretty
18:42 cool yeah that that thing of of using
18:45 GPT to to help you understand you know
18:49 the components of things is just wild
18:53 it's like you know you could have
18:54 researched that but now you don't have
18:56 to and like you never would have it's
18:58 like that kind of stuff is the kind of
18:59 stuff where it's
19:01 like it's just like net new knowledge
19:04 Kyle I took your idea about
19:05 storyboarding scripts and man did it
19:07 upgrade my treatment that is so cool oh
19:11 yeah oh yeah 80s Max Headroom
19:15 Baby Max HR time saving for
19:19 sure thank you Ken bro appreciate that
19:22 you got the number two gifter slot
19:24 whatever that means Tik Tock Tik Tock is
19:27 happy with your particip
19:28 [Laughter]
19:31 oh badge the number two gifter badge
19:34 nice uh Ethan mullock's latest article
19:36 is basically companies get your [ __ ]
19:39 together well
19:40 he he wrote that article six months ago
19:43 that was the um detecting the secret
19:45 cyborgs was basically um there are
19:49 subcommunities within your company that
19:51 secretly know Ai and you don't
19:57 butthead
19:59 everyone's
20:00 like it's not he's not referring to our
20:05 [Laughter]
20:09 company why do all CEOs talk like that I
20:13 don't know that's on them I'm just a
20:16 reporter I just report the facts every
20:20 CEO I've talked to is
20:24 like it's just I I'm pretty sure they
20:27 that's what they teach you CEO School
20:29 see I didn't go to CEO school I'm a
20:32 CEO but I didn't go to CEO school so
20:35 that's why I don't talk like that I
20:37 can I choose not to I choose to act like
20:41 a CEO with my acting
20:43 [Laughter]
20:48 degree all right we can get started here
20:51 tonight or am I just going to blab and
20:52 blab and
20:55 blab when do you think Dolly will have
20:57 spell check bill
20:59 not soon
21:00 enough they wear smart
21:03 pants yes usually Mr Shannon if we work
21:06 for British Airways we like to wear
21:09 smart
21:11 [Applause]
21:17 pants I can't imagine the the shades of
21:20 beet red I turned when she did
21:23 that why do I think I've seen you on TV
21:25 or the Silver Screen oh because you may
21:28 have
21:29 I played white boy number one in New
21:31 Jack City oh yeah I still get checks
21:34 from that in fact oh you think I'm
21:38 joking let me see do I have a stub
21:43 here I did a movie when they still paid
21:46 royalties for
21:48 movies that's an AT&T bill sag
21:52 aftera what's this yeah is this
21:56 it uh new Jack
22:00 City oh wait I don't I don't want to
22:05 brag but uh look at them
22:09 royalties
22:11 huh every six months whether I needed or
22:15 not I'm
22:17 making
22:19 dollars oh
22:22 yeah all right how did you create an AI
22:26 with your
22:27 gp4
22:29 immediate language oh Intermediate
22:31 Language like python how did you create
22:34 an
22:36 AI I don't wait laughing Thunder I don't
22:40 quite understand the question how did
22:41 you create an AI with your chat GPT
22:46 4 intermediate with a language like
22:49 python no I just created a GPT okay so
22:54 maybe you haven't played with so so
22:56 there's in GPT 4 there's kind of two
22:59 modes if you're a developer you play in
23:01 the playground mode here hang on let's
23:04 let's let's go to the
23:14 videotape no okay so in chat GPT there's
23:18 sort of the back end which is the
23:20 developer side that's this thing I did
23:24 not develop over here over here um open
23:28 a I released these things called custom
23:30 gpts that are are sort of the consumer
23:33 version of developing [ __ ] in the back
23:35 end you can develop assistants back here
23:37 that do all sorts of cool [ __ ] I'm
23:39 developing an app right now for my
23:41 company that uses this stuff um but the
23:44 the thing I was just talking about uh
23:46 with the with the screenplay that was
23:48 just done on the front end which I can
23:49 show
23:50 you
23:55 um is Dolly the best image generator hm
23:59 well here leave me show you no not that
24:03 one that one these are the the four why
24:07 does that look so blown out oh I see
24:10 hang hold please hang on I have
24:12 production issues I got to fire my
24:13 producer this is
24:16 ridiculous the lack of professionalism
24:18 in this
24:22 studio and then do I have wait hang on
24:25 hang on
24:26 people if you
24:29 if you think that this is a professional
24:31 operation think
24:33 again I'm wiping the fingerprints off my
24:36 lenses all right that's a little better
24:39 okay
24:42 um which is the
24:46 best it depends the best for what if you
24:51 work in Corporate America probably Adobe
24:55 Firefly because that hasn't been trained
24:58 on any copywritten images if you're an
25:01 artist probably mid Journey because
25:03 nothing else is really close in terms of
25:05 image
25:06 sophistication if you're a lazy add
25:09 person that just wants to knock out [ __ ]
25:11 fast dolly3 cuz it lives inside chat GPT
25:15 and you can just knock [ __ ] out fast if
25:18 uh you want a bit more control and
25:21 features and dials and switches Leonardo
25:24 which is built on top of stable
25:25 diffusion and if you really want to geek
25:27 out then you go under the hood with
25:30 stable diffusion and you you know
25:32 install your own instances and use your
25:34 own checkpoints and luras and and
25:37 customize the [ __ ] out of it so it's
25:39 it's really all over the place but those
25:41 four are are where I would
25:43 start um because they're kind of four
25:46 broad categories of image generation
25:50 tools um but dolly is DOL right now I
25:54 there are I still have a mid-journey um
25:57 subscription but but I I haven't used it
25:59 in probably a month and a half or 2
26:01 months other than I'll occasionally um
26:03 generate something in here
26:08 um hey it can wait wait wait wait dang
26:12 it what's going on here Tik Tock just
26:15 jumped me to the
26:16 bottom dang you Tick
26:19 Tock sorry from your
26:23 [Music]
26:24 screenplay that's a coffee you gangster
26:27 you darn right it is Kim bro
26:33 cheers battery on the tractor dead
26:35 battery chargers Dead
26:39 [Music]
26:42 funny can I get a Korea invite on the
26:45 waiting list a while and nothing I'm
26:47 right there with you Papa J let me go
26:49 look and see if maybe I got let me see
26:51 if I got in but but we can go look at um
26:54 we can go look
26:55 at Leonardo right now at added that same
26:58 feature I don't think I don't think you
27:01 can pull in the
27:02 webcam and the free version isn't full
27:05 real time but it's still pretty slick
27:08 um but let me go look at K
27:13 Korea k.
27:17 a uh log
27:21 in man my uh my voice and sinuses are a
27:26 mess real time generation wait list you
27:30 big damn
27:31 loser all right let's go let's go play
27:35 um so this thing you can't really see it
27:38 let's see can I make this a little
27:41 smaller of course you can whoa all right
27:45 so what we're looking at here let me go
27:48 back out exit the
27:51 editor so we're on Leonardo right
27:54 now and Leonardo this is the one that's
27:57 built on top of stable diffusion it's
28:00 got all these models across the top that
28:02 you can play with here's a bunch of
28:04 images that people have made of course
28:07 there's you know it's like Borama cuz
28:10 when you when you turn these tools loose
28:12 on the masses it's babes they like to
28:14 make
28:16 apparently um you can also in this tool
28:20 create your own training and data sets
28:23 so if I go into models I've got three
28:26 different models two with two two with
28:29 really bad images of me that make only
28:31 images where I look like a 400 lb sweaty
28:34 guy cuz cuz I didn't use good images in
28:37 the training set so we just pretend
28:39 those don't exist but then I made a
28:41 model where I uploaded a bunch of
28:44 uh uh my photography uh so I'm a
28:48 photographer and do you know like
28:49 landscape photos and things like that
28:52 and so I've now got a model that I can
28:53 generate images that generate Skies like
28:57 I like I photograph which is super cool
29:00 um so it can do that um and then it's
29:04 got It's got all sorts of other
29:06 things but it's got this new thing
29:10 called live canvas and live
29:15 canvas let's do the background
29:20 as
29:22 that so you have a thing on the left you
29:26 got a thing on the right and you have a
29:27 prompt so I wrote New York City alley in
29:30 there and then for style let's go
29:34 photography and then I can
29:37 now let's see change the color here to
29:41 be oh I don't know some crazy
29:44 blue oh wait I'm changing the background
29:50 hold now we'll change the
29:53 brush to be like yeah that's good all
29:57 right
29:58 so now I
30:00 can
30:01 right and see how it's doing the thing
30:04 on the thing see the thing on the thing
30:06 let's go get some bricks and put some
30:09 bricks in
30:13 here
30:18 right right and then it does that and
30:21 then you can do things like you can say
30:23 output to input so so now well so I can
30:26 what else can I do here I can go um
30:29 let's see Ray traced and now it'll look
30:31 like a 3D game world looks exactly the
30:33 same all right fine let's do fantasy
30:36 art looks exactly the same I think we
30:38 got to do something different here
30:42 let's let's put some neon green in here
30:45 somewhere we'll make the thing a little
30:47 shorter we'll
30:50 go and we'll
30:54 go anything is it changing
30:56 anything
30:59 all
31:00 right come on come on what's going on oh
31:04 boy that's not good all right I so you
31:07 you can see I don't know what I'm doing
31:09 but that's okay so instead of New York
31:11 City alley let's go
31:14 um oldest
31:17 tree
31:20 in in
31:23 history all right oh and that's cool
31:25 look there's a little little dark tree
31:27 over over there but let's see let's make
31:29 it
31:32 green I don't know if you knew this but
31:34 I'm an
31:37 illustrator it's impressive isn't
31:43 it I don't like to brag but listen when
31:46 you got when you got talent as deep as
31:49 I've got it it's sometimes it's just
31:52 obvious you know what I'm saying you
31:54 know what I'm saying people look at that
31:56 it's exactly like what I I
31:58 drew pretty cool um let's let's do some
32:04 brown and we'll do a little trunky trunk
32:07 and let's see we'll we'll split the
32:12 trunk and we'll go out really wide at
32:15 the
32:21 bottom give me more oh it's turning it
32:23 into light anyway but now I can now I
32:26 can flip that make that the
32:29 input and then I
32:32 could let's
32:36 see oops oh that was cool
32:48 don't huh that just kind of changed
32:56 the
32:58 come on nothing I don't know uh so let's
33:01 just change the that's oldest tree in
33:02 history so let's change that input to
33:07 um
33:10 um
33:12 lizard headed
33:24 monster vibrant colors o that one's cool
33:28 now we'll do that as the
33:29 input oh this is okay here's the cool
33:32 game all right wait reduce your
33:33 creativity strength oh fine fine no more
33:38 about this than I do way to go retr punk
33:41 way to way to show up the guy that
33:44 obviously clearly knows everything about
33:48 this uh what are we going to do here oh
33:50 I'm going to change the prompt so so now
33:53 I'm going to change it to
33:55 um let's do 60
33:59 uh
34:01 60s Rat
34:05 Rod oh that's cool now it's a
34:07 car um let's make it let's oh let's make
34:10 it red we'll make it candy apple
34:12 [Music]
34:16 red oh o oh that's
34:20 H I don't know what that is what is this
34:25 what is this double car you Mac it it
34:27 makes me
34:29 confused all right we'll do that as the
34:31 input now now we'll go um
34:35 to um
34:39 foxes gave us three foxes but I like it
34:43 do sketch so anyway so yeah so this is
34:46 here I'm clearly not figuring this [ __ ]
34:49 out super good but
34:51 uh let's see interactive mode I think
34:54 that's if you pay for it yeah so I'm
34:57 using using the free version of this and
34:59 the non-free version of this is
35:05 uh the paid version of this is real time
35:09 where as you're drawing it's rendering
35:11 it in real time this is after you draw a
35:14 shape then it renders so so this is like
35:17 a 1 second delay and you can pay for the
35:20 zero second
35:22 delay um does this have the ability to
35:25 put that's a selection that's an erase
35:30 that's add an image can I
35:33 add your
35:36 Generations oh that's cool it lets me
35:38 use all my Generations as inputs that's
35:40 kind of
35:41 slick
35:47 huh oops what just
35:56 happened
35:58 oh that was
36:04 slick
36:06 huh
36:10 strange scared
36:16 Fox that is so
36:18 cool very cool
36:21 people I don't know are you picking up
36:23 what I'm putting down there's all sorts
36:26 of action and nonsense going on over
36:29 here let's do that as A Sketch color
36:32 let's do that as a product and now let's
36:34 call
36:35 it perfume
36:41 bottle there you go [ __ ] nuts it's
36:45 just crazy people it's
36:48 crazy so I was on there and he was just
36:51 I'll tell you what he was doing he
36:53 wasn't a very good drawer he couldn't
36:54 draw too good but he
36:58 uh let's see he wasn't a very good
37:02 drawer but when he would draw this thing
37:04 would just make pictures over on the
37:06 right I don't it was some sort of magic
37:09 I think he might have been in cahoots
37:11 with the dark lord if you know what I
37:14 mean no I don't know what you mean oh
37:17 very nice very
37:19 nice
37:21 oh love it love it
37:26 people
37:28 and hit creative refine in the top to
37:30 get a higher res output oh creative
37:33 refine up top all right got
37:39 it get your wait what did that
37:47 say yeah that's super cool all right
37:50 cool so I would go play with that
37:52 Leonardo do AI app app. leonard. and go
37:57 to the
37:58 live
38:03 canvas there's also texture generation
38:05 which I don't think I've
38:11 tried update new object oh that's for 3D
38:14 objects that's super
38:17 cool H wild it's wild and wacky stuff oh
38:22 look there's the uh there's the oh
38:23 that's cool that actually did do a nice
38:26 higher res output didn't it it cuz it
38:29 refined the shape of the bottle and it
38:30 doesn't look so
38:32 weird huh are there multiple versions in
38:36 here no just the
38:40 one norak kilo nor kilo it's the latest
38:48 fragrance when I'm going out I wear nor
38:56 kilo
38:59 this this is all sorts of weird medical
39:01 device looking stuff inside
39:03 [Laughter]
39:06 here oh man that's crazy it's nuts I
39:09 tell you it's just nuts I tell you then
39:12 bring the output to create out ey
39:14 upscaler and go even further yeah that's
39:16 super cool retr punk very very cool all
39:20 right so that was that so see that so
39:22 this is what we do here you just you
39:24 tell them like hey let's go do a thing
39:26 and then will do a thing and then other
39:27 people in here are like hey you know
39:29 there's other ways you could do that I'm
39:30 like yeah I didn't know that but now I
39:36 do
39:39 the this is just cuckoo
39:44 man I mean if one of the things you're
39:47 feeling is holy [ __ ] I'm so far
39:50 behind um everyone
39:53 is everyone is so far behind everyone
39:57 is trying
40:00 to figure this stuff out I just got
40:03 distracted Tik tok's telling me to join
40:05 the regional live Fest which I assume if
40:09 you join the live Fest it's just one
40:11 series of battles after another so I'm
40:14 not going to click on that button Kyle
40:16 my friend Michael is here for the first
40:18 time can you show some basic he's in
40:20 healthcare
40:21 absolutely healthcare insurance um okay
40:25 so so I'm just going to start out let me
40:27 let me where do I want to start someone
40:30 just wants to know the basis I'm just
40:31 going to I'm just going to go with chat
40:33 gbt
40:46 uh
40:48 okay why is this so out of
40:53 focus something is up with either my
40:59 camera or the screen is it that
41:04 no anyway well hopefully you can see it
41:07 a little bit is that better that's a
41:09 little
41:11 better that's just weird it's got like
41:14 this double Focus thing huh I don't I
41:17 don't know what to tell you people I
41:19 don't know why it's so fuzzy it's so
41:22 fuzzy it's so fuzzy
41:25 people
41:27 okay if you've never used chat GPT
41:30 before go go right now go right now to
41:33 chat.
41:36 open.com and
41:38 um and we'll just start out with chat
41:40 GPT 3.5 so there's there's two different
41:43 modes there's chat GPT 4 and there's
41:45 chat GPT 3.5 when you get here um if you
41:50 don't have chat GPT 4 go to
41:54 your um
41:57 settings or no go to go to your name
42:00 here and go to my
42:02 plan and get on the weight list for chat
42:05 GPT plus they're not they're not giving
42:09 access to everyone right now it should
42:11 hopefully will come back soon now that
42:13 they're semi-stable again just get on
42:15 the list turn off the lights in the back
42:17 I don't have any lights in the back I
42:20 mean I got this I got the overhead
42:23 light yeah I guess that does help
42:25 doesn't it
42:28 all right we'll try
42:31 that I I feel like I'm sitting in a in a
42:35 Darkness I I am in a
42:39 Darkness it's spooky people I live in an
42:42 old house that was built in
42:44 1904
42:48 uh okay so let me brighten this up a
42:51 little bit oh that was
42:54 fantastic okay
42:58 out of focus yeah I know I know I am not
43:02 happy with this is
43:05 it it's a little bit better all
43:11 right okay so if you've never used chat
43:15 GPT before get on the wait list because
43:17 I'll I'm going to show you in a second
43:18 how
43:20 um how chat
43:22 GPT uh how much stuff it can do but even
43:26 just chat GPT 3.5 so what this
43:28 essentially is is
43:31 um the chat GPT that launched a year ago
43:35 yesterday this is sort of a faster
43:37 version of that it doesn't do a whole
43:39 lot but it does a whole lot even for not
43:41 doing a lot it does a lot so for example
43:44 one of the things you could do is you
43:46 could
43:47 say
43:49 um
43:53 explain the health insance
43:58 insurance claims
44:02 process in
44:05 an Eminem
44:10 rap yo listen up I'm about to drop
44:14 some some knowledge
44:17 wait some knowledge No Cap about health
44:21 insurance claims yeah that's a
44:24 wrap it's a process we got to navigate
44:27 when you're sick or injured it's your
44:29 Insurance's fate uh yeah so you can if
44:32 you want to sing about how awful
44:35 insurance claims are you can do that now
44:37 and make it seem slightly less horrific
44:39 than it is uh how can I learn prompt
44:41 engineering free hang out here
44:44 Sammy here's the thing about prompt
44:48 engineering I I have I I have I I have
44:51 multiple Minds on the whole prompt
44:54 engineering
44:55 thing
44:57 if you're a real if you're a very
44:58 logically minded person and you
45:02 like geeking out on [ __ ] then absolutely
45:06 learn prompt engineering if you're a
45:08 creative writer and the thought of you
45:11 know having to become an engineer to do
45:14 prompting makes you sick to your stomach
45:16 then you don't have to do prompt
45:19 engineering
45:21 um I just watched his video oh my God I
45:24 just watched his video of an avatar
45:26 speaking instead of being on cam uh
45:28 Michael Davenport here let me I'll show
45:30 you that one too okay this is welcome to
45:32 Chad add if you if you uh put the right
45:36 comment in there you will absolutely
45:37 derail my conversation um but but that's
45:41 what you get here um so let's go to
45:43 we're going to go to the Ticky talk so
45:45 what Michael's talking about is um I
45:49 used hey
45:50 Jen to create an avatar of myself they
45:52 just launched this new Avatar feature
45:55 and so I'm going to show you two things
45:56 the first one I'm going to show you is
45:58 just full-on Avatar of me um where I
46:02 just type the words so the process was I
46:05 upload a video two to three minute video
46:08 uh and then it does whatever it does and
46:11 then you just type in words and say
46:13 generate video and so this is what it
46:14 generated hey it's Kyle Shannon with the
46:17 AI learning lab you know there are some
46:19 days I just don't want to turn on the
46:20 camera days where I don't even want to
46:22 get out of bed well good news we now
46:25 live in a post sci-fi world and I can
46:28 just type up this script and select my
46:30 avatar of choice this is one from a
46:32 video I recorded about a year ago you
46:35 might be
46:36 wondering Kyle what is this magic wand
46:40 you have waved have you hired James
46:42 Cameron's special effects team the
46:44 answer is a resounding Note have you
46:47 hired James Cameron's special effects
46:49 team yeah he's a comedian too see yeah
46:53 yeah you paluca um dude this is is
46:56 golden I know right so that so that is
47:00 um just just me typing text but it
47:03 sounds robotic right and then this next
47:07 one is I recorded the audio but used the
47:10 same Avatar so the Avatar is basically a
47:14 synthesis of the video that you upload
47:16 so whatever the haircut was whatever the
47:18 background is whatever I was wearing
47:20 whatever hand movements I did that's
47:22 what it captured for this Avatar so it's
47:25 not like I can sort to switch all that
47:26 [ __ ] out it's just like that video
47:29 serves as the basis for this so if I
47:32 uploaded a video where I was wearing you
47:34 know a neon shirt and I talk like this
47:37 then my voice would probably talk sound
47:39 like this so it's synthesizing whatever
47:41 the video is so then the next one I did
47:43 I just recorded the audio and then
47:46 applied that to the thing so so this
47:48 next one is me actually talking but the
47:50 video is not real hey it's Kyle Shannon
47:53 with the AI learning lab so the previous
47:56 video in my timeline is an avatar
47:58 generated with hey Jen where I didn't
48:01 say the words I just typed in a script
48:04 and it synthesized my voice and it was
48:07 decent but it didn't really sound like
48:09 me this is me recording myself I'm just
48:12 recording audio and I'm uploading it to
48:15 hey Jen as well and it's matching this
48:17 audio to the Avatar's look and feel and
48:21 hand movements and all of that sort of
48:23 stuff so um so yeah so that's hey
48:29 Jen and you might be asking Kyle is that
48:32 does that blow your mind too yeah it
48:35 it's Insanity it's Insanity I prompted
48:37 15 GPT poems about cleaning today to
48:40 motivate myself to
48:42 clean damn it's changed
48:47 me okay we we'll do another mind-blowing
48:50 one all right we're we're g to go to
48:53 we're going to go to cuz cuz so listen
48:55 um was that oh that was Joseph Baker
48:57 wait I actually enjoyed cleaning and
48:59 kept mental focused by listening to the
49:00 pums wait it gets better Joseph watch
49:04 this
49:05 sunno um sunno AI so if you haven't seen
49:09 sunno AI we're going to go on ahead and
49:11 try the beta s o.
49:16 [Laughter]
49:17 [Music]
49:22 a all right so we're going to say
49:26 um let's say Pop Let's see up be pop
49:38 song um sorry I don't know who performs
49:42 pop hey
49:46 Siri go
49:48 away
49:51 okay A Beat P
49:54 song she exhaust
50:03 me do you know how do
50:06 you you know all all it was hitting me
50:12 why I'm sort of losing my [ __ ] is what's
50:15 hitting me is like all of the Sci-Fi
50:16 movies it's like it's like the robots
50:19 are either pure evil or pure good but
50:22 the reality is going to be is like the
50:24 robots are just like [ __ ] just as
50:26 neurotic as we are cuz they're
50:28 reflections of us so we're going to be
50:30 just trying to do our lives and the
50:31 robots are going to be like well I take
50:33 offense to that you like oh my God we're
50:35 gonna get cancelled by our
50:37 robots oh my god oh upbeat song um to
50:44 motivate me to
50:47 clean my
50:51 kitchen and we're going to say
50:54 create
50:57 and so so while it's I have her
51:00 permanently banned I can't bring myself
51:02 to shut her off one just because it's an
51:05 add thing
51:06 that I'm just genetically uh predisposed
51:09 not to change my preferences so whatever
51:12 whatever my preferences are I'll change
51:14 them once every six months um so that's
51:17 that's just a problem um I did I did
51:20 another song here I wrote and it's it's
51:24 got a very creepy that creepy doll but
51:28 um I had an idea so so one of
51:32 the one of the more popular lives that I
51:36 did was when Siri and Bing got in a f
51:40 got in a fight Siri was interrupting and
51:43 Bing told me she was offended by me and
51:46 shut down the conversation and the the
51:49 the
51:50 um the name that Sydney that that Bing
51:54 the Bing chatbot gave herself when she
51:57 talked to Kevin Roose from The New York
51:59 Times was Sydney and that was when when
52:01 Sydney told him that she loved him and
52:05 he should leave his wife for her and so
52:07 I wanted to write a song about um a
52:11 lover named Sydney who's more artificial
52:13 than real so this song I'm about to play
52:17 is the The Prompt was an americ ballad
52:21 in the style of Brandy
52:23 carile about a lover named Sydney
52:26 who's more artificial than real and this
52:29 this was it everything you do it
52:31 generates two songs so this is one of
52:32 the songs it generated which I I think
52:34 is just
52:35 [Music]
52:41 wild where the flowers
52:45 blue there's a girl named
52:50 Sydney she shines through the
52:54 Gloom
52:56 smile it's like
52:59 sunshine oh rain it
53:03 day but beneath the
53:08 surface something's not quite
53:12 okay just like a
53:17 porel so perfect and
53:22 bright but I can't help wonder
53:26 [Music]
53:28 what's
53:29 hiide is it
53:33 Harmony
53:34 me send
53:38 me with your
53:43 [Music]
53:45 artificial me do you ever feel
53:51 your crazy right um someone just said
53:55 they wanted a generative image site I'll
53:57 I'll show you a list in a second let's
53:59 let's get our cleaning song this is for
54:01 Joseph Joseph this is for you we'll get
54:04 we've got two here so the the lyrics
54:06 wake up wake up this morning feeling
54:08 kind of low start at the dishes piled up
54:11 in a row but I won't let let that get me
54:13 down no way I'll turn up the music and
54:16 I'll start the
54:17 [Music]
54:24 day
54:27 all right we we can't understand your
54:29 lyrics let's let's hope this one's
54:33 better woke up this morning feel
54:40 alone staring
54:43 [Music]
54:49 at yes you can use these
54:51 commercially who's who's going to sue
54:54 you
54:56 [Music]
55:03 [Music]
55:19 there you go
55:21 Joseph you don't you you don't just need
55:24 the poems
55:26 you now you now have songs to go with
55:30 them
55:33 the oh my God what world are we entering
55:44 people
55:49 oh oh my
55:52 God Jim Ross who's in who's in here a
55:56 lot I was I was showing him this one
55:59 night I was just doing what I did
56:01 tonight um and and he he he went to the
56:04 site and played along and he had just
56:07 had a meeting with a prospective client
56:09 thank you Ron I appreciate that he had
56:11 just had a meeting with a prospective
56:13 client and and so he said write a song
56:15 about storage or something like that
56:17 because he's in the storage business and
56:19 he just forwarded it to the client and
56:21 said hey great meeting you today here's
56:23 a little something I threw together and
56:24 it was this personalized song for the
56:26 dude and he got the the guy called him
56:29 back 10 minutes later and said you got
56:31 the
56:32 contract so oh I I want my GP TV
56:38 exactly I I'll show you something for
56:41 that get that damn doll off the screen I
56:43 know Pate that doll's really
56:48 awful sorry about the PTSD uh Pate Pate
56:52 not a fan of the doll from the the
56:54 Sydney song
56:59 oh all right so while we're on the
57:01 multimedia thing I I I I know uh we're
57:04 supposed to be getting back to Insurance
57:06 in chat GPT in a second but it you know
57:08 it's Friday night we got to party a
57:09 little uh I'm going to go to another
57:11 thing right now called
57:14 runway.
57:17 TV do a country pop song Pinocchio the
57:24 hell
57:28 [Music]
57:40 well they're they're upgrading this site
57:42 this is
57:45 cool um so let me show I'll show you
57:47 what we've got
57:48 here or what this
57:54 is
57:58 [Music]
58:15 okay so what we're looking at
58:19 here let me pause
58:23 that what we're looking at here is a
58:26 thing so Runway ml is a text to video
58:29 company all this time we were worried
58:31 about Kyle twerking well we should have
58:34 worried about Kyle dancing thank
58:40 you um
58:44 so these are all different channels down
58:47 the leftand side Runway ml's a text to
58:50 video company and so they started this
58:53 thing called Runway TV and and these are
58:55 basically they've got a thing called
58:57 Runway Studios where they're creating
58:59 original content but they're also
59:01 allowing you to submit um any any video
59:07 that you've made that uses Runway
59:10 technology and most of the videos are
59:13 just these weird like 60s experimental
59:17 art things but there's some in here that
59:18 do true
59:22 narrative but a lot like they're very
59:24 surreal right they're they're very cuz
59:26 the texted video stuff is so janky right
59:36 [Applause]
59:48 now so that's
59:51 one let's see what's this
59:54 one
59:56 [Applause]
59:57 [Music]
1:00:03 um so runway. TV so why
1:00:07 what why I think this one's
1:00:10 significant is this very much reminds me
1:00:14 if you're an Olden timey person 1981 the
1:00:17 the launch of
1:00:19 MTV um there were all these commercials
1:00:21 on network TV that were like I Want My
1:00:24 MTV you didn't know what the hell they
1:00:26 were talking about and then they
1:00:26 launched MTV and it's just this channel
1:00:31 that's got like songs that have video to
1:00:34 them music videos no one had seen them
1:00:38 before and they kind you know real TV
1:00:41 people made fun of it people discounted
1:00:43 it um P's comment I want my gptv
1:00:46 reminded me of that um and and so this
1:00:50 this feels like that to me because the
1:00:52 these these videos are janky enough that
1:00:55 I think
1:00:56 that real filmmakers a lot of them are
1:00:59 going to scoff at this and real studios
1:01:02 are going to be like we do real video
1:01:06 here yeah yeah someday we're going to
1:01:09 see one of these people win an
1:01:11 Emmy actually you are right like what's
1:01:14 going to happen is this is going to be a
1:01:16 whole become a whole new subc community
1:01:19 of a new kind of
1:01:21 filmmaker that is not the old kind of
1:01:24 filmmaker Ridley Scot today that said
1:01:26 that AI is going to be a h n hydrogen
1:01:29 nuclear bomb on the film industry and I
1:01:33 think he's right and it's it's not
1:01:34 necessarily a bad thing it's it's not
1:01:37 that film as we know it goes away it's
1:01:40 that film as we know it becomes a niche
1:01:44 a niche way of making films at some
1:01:47 point right like it's it's going to stay
1:01:49 mainstream for for some time
1:01:53 but this community the community that
1:01:56 Embraces this stuff some of them will be
1:01:58 filmmakers a lot of them are going to be
1:02:02 people probably some in this channel
1:02:04 that are just like oh that video stuff's
1:02:06 cool let me go play with that and
1:02:08 they're not filmmakers but they're just
1:02:10 playing with this stuff and then as
1:02:11 these tools get better they're going to
1:02:13 have the skills to just come up with
1:02:16 entirely new forms of Storytelling that
1:02:19 that leverage these tools in really
1:02:20 unique and interesting ways so pay
1:02:23 attention to sites like this that that
1:02:25 feel on the surface like it it doesn't
1:02:27 make a ton of sense like what are they
1:02:29 doing are they going to charge
1:02:31 advertising for this are they going to
1:02:32 sell these like I don't know right now
1:02:35 they're just this is this is basically
1:02:37 just like a glorified rapper sitting on
1:02:39 top of YouTube
1:02:41 videos right um this is probably like a
1:02:44 you know like a a web flow or
1:02:46 Squarespace template I it it looks like
1:02:49 they're actually you know designing this
1:02:52 um but but anyway I thought I thought
1:02:55 that was kind of wild all right so let's
1:02:57 get let's get back
1:02:59 to this this this this Chad ad Rabbit
1:03:03 Hole was brought to you by
1:03:05 cocacola okay
1:03:09 um Michael Davenport I am seriously in
1:03:12 the Twilight Zone I know I
1:03:15 know the poems are so deep that was wild
1:03:19 Kyle you're blowing my mind in the best
1:03:21 way awesome awesome that's so so listen
1:03:25 here the the my my whole hope the whole
1:03:29 reason I do this night after flipping
1:03:31 night after flipping night
1:03:35 is I want to encourage all of you to
1:03:38 just experiment get curious as hell and
1:03:42 just experiment with generative AI until
1:03:45 you have your Kevin McAllister moment
1:03:48 right this
1:03:49 one and it might be from me doing
1:03:52 something but it's likely going to be
1:03:53 from you doing something right you're
1:03:55 going to play with one of these tools
1:03:56 and you're going to do something and all
1:03:58 of a sudden it's just going to
1:03:59 something's going to click for you don't
1:04:01 ask me AI generated will become a genre
1:04:05 and there will be competitions oh
1:04:07 absolutely and and you know Runway TV
1:04:09 will be the first Network and and and
1:04:11 like you know Netflix is going to look
1:04:14 at that and Netflix might go well that's
1:04:16 not real video we're you know we're
1:04:18 going to stick with real video Netflix
1:04:21 might also go holy [ __ ] this is the
1:04:24 future
1:04:25 um let's let's spin up a whole you know
1:04:27 Channel within that so so I think it's
1:04:30 going to be really fascinating just pay
1:04:32 attention to this someone said earlier I
1:04:34 think it was cuno said the small and
1:04:36 midsize companies are going to embrace
1:04:38 the [ __ ] out of this and the big
1:04:40 companies are going to get their arms
1:04:41 crossed and be like har um watch the
1:04:45 entertainment space watch watch the
1:04:48 studios that are sort of putting up
1:04:50 their guards and and dismissing this
1:04:53 stuff and then watch the smaller players
1:04:56 cuz some smaller players going to become
1:04:57 the new Netflix the new streaming
1:05:00 services the new
1:05:02 Studios um and and they'll absolutely
1:05:04 compete with them and I think you're
1:05:05 right they'll start out they'll have
1:05:07 their own um Awards
1:05:11 ceremonies and then over time you know
1:05:15 those two worlds will come
1:05:16 together Kyle made a Kyle made a pick to
1:05:20 the dish song in the Irregulars oh good
1:05:27 um here we
1:05:29 go Ted looks at life hang
1:05:33 on oh man my my internet really is
1:05:40 slow come on
1:05:43 internet does anyone know or our gpts
1:05:47 going public today they are not a letter
1:05:50 was sent
1:05:51 out this is from Ted
1:05:56 singing singing the dish song oh
1:06:02 yeah that's [ __ ]
1:06:04 [Laughter]
1:06:06 awesome um I I'll I'll tell you so so um
1:06:11 what I'm showing here is the AI Salon is
1:06:15 a community so so this channel is kind
1:06:17 of an extension um of this community I
1:06:20 started a year ago called the AI salon
1:06:23 and we have a we have a community I'll
1:06:24 tell you about it if you stick around
1:06:26 this is this is one of those this is an
1:06:28 engagement tactic on Tik Tok if you
1:06:31 stick around to the end I'll tell you
1:06:32 how to get
1:06:35 there you can make
1:06:38 money
1:06:41 um but I will tell you about it all
1:06:43 right let's see my new favorite hobby is
1:06:45 creating music videos with sunno Runway
1:06:47 and canva yeah Lauren I the I like I've
1:06:51 I've had a breakthrough in the past um
1:06:54 like the past two weeks for me have been
1:06:56 this
1:06:58 weird like I I don't know it's there's I
1:07:02 I've had um sort of these weird two week
1:07:05 chunks so the first two we chunk was um
1:07:10 open AI had their Dev conference and
1:07:12 they released new multimodal chat GPT 4
1:07:16 which we we'll talk about I'll I'll
1:07:17 eventually get to it and it was like oh
1:07:20 my God that's so mind-blowing and then
1:07:22 we had the two- we chunk where they like
1:07:24 fired Sam everything's going to explode
1:07:27 the entire industry is
1:07:29 over and then they
1:07:33 didn't so that was just weird and
1:07:36 surreal and then and then like the last
1:07:38 two week chunk has been has been there's
1:07:41 a little overlap there has been kind of
1:07:44 discovering like rediscovering
1:07:47 video and like my video my page where I
1:07:51 recommend sites went from like three
1:07:53 video plat forms to six and then the
1:07:57 advancements in the six in that in that
1:08:00 thing like the avatars from hey Jen
1:08:03 motion brush from one Runway and then
1:08:05 this new paa 1.0 that looks like it's
1:08:07 going to be absolutely
1:08:09 mind-blowing and then in conjunction
1:08:11 with that someone in here asking me to
1:08:13 make a a GPT or show them how I would do
1:08:17 storyboarding using chat GPT and I did
1:08:20 and that blew my mind and got me excited
1:08:23 again about telling stories and film
1:08:25 making and and things like that like it
1:08:27 just it it feels like it's something
1:08:29 there is something boiling with at least
1:08:32 for me with with video storytelling that
1:08:36 that the tools are about to get apeshit
1:08:40 good and and it's just wild it's just
1:08:44 wild and then and then the the the the
1:08:47 whole uh the whole um whatever you call
1:08:50 it the the music thing like that like
1:08:52 suo just I want a song about this and I
1:08:57 I did an AI office hours today uh uh
1:09:00 louva 611 I'll show you how to get to
1:09:02 the AI Salon in just a second here um I
1:09:04 I had an AI office hours today on
1:09:07 LinkedIn and um Kevin from in here uh
1:09:11 came and he was talking he's a music
1:09:13 producer and he's been using sunno to um
1:09:18 basically be a music writing partner
1:09:20 with him he'll like have an idea for a
1:09:23 song He types it into sunno it generates
1:09:26 the song and then he'll just do that
1:09:29 until he gets one he likes and then he
1:09:31 what he's been doing is he's taking them
1:09:33 into
1:09:35 Daws uh digital audio
1:09:37 workstations that will separate the
1:09:40 audio into into discreet tracks and
1:09:42 improve them like upres them and and
1:09:45 he's he's making you know fully
1:09:47 remixable songs and then he's sort of
1:09:49 re-recording the parts he wants to
1:09:50 re-record so he's using it as a writing
1:09:52 partner and it's just like we're just
1:09:55 we're we're just on the verge of all of
1:09:58 us being able to do
1:10:02 everything it's it's
1:10:04 mindblowing do you know what's going on
1:10:06 with the CEO of stability I don't but
1:10:10 I'll go look um let's let let me let me
1:10:13 tell people about the AI Salon okay
1:10:20 so all right Cory thank ing an I don't
1:10:25 know why that was pinned but cool glad
1:10:28 good glad that you're connecting with
1:10:30 one another with one another all right
1:10:34 hello mother mother mother please
1:10:39 please you make me so tiresome mother
1:10:43 okay so the AI
1:10:46 Salon this is a community I started a
1:10:48 year ago um it started as a Meetup
1:10:50 Community where we met every other week
1:10:53 um it were still meeting every other
1:10:55 week this coming
1:10:56 Tuesday is our one-year anniversary so I
1:10:59 started this community immediately after
1:11:02 chat GPT launched I was I was thinking
1:11:04 about starting something like this
1:11:06 anyway cuz I was playing with stable
1:11:07 diffusion and the image Generation stuff
1:11:09 was blowing my mind and I had a
1:11:11 conversation with a professional
1:11:12 photographer in Boston named named Leah
1:11:14 faston who's an amazing person and um
1:11:19 she and I were talking about doing
1:11:21 something and then chat GPT came out and
1:11:22 I'm like okay we got to go time's now um
1:11:26 so so this group is is
1:11:29 for people who
1:11:31 are
1:11:33 um curious about Ai and adventurous
1:11:37 about it and so when you go
1:11:42 to when you go here let me go do I have
1:11:45 it anywhere my
1:11:47 tabs is that it that's not it I don't
1:11:50 have it up Hang on we're going to go
1:11:52 there people you just hang on you just
1:11:55 hold on your pretty little horses let's
1:11:56 see AI Salon AI AIS salon. mn.com all
1:12:04 [Laughter]
1:12:14 [Music]
1:12:17 right all right so when you come here um
1:12:22 it's it's built on top of mighty Network
1:12:24 so it's really cool there's a feed just
1:12:26 like Facebook where you can just go to
1:12:27 the feed and anything you're subscribed
1:12:29 to it'll show new stuff in there there's
1:12:31 there's a bunch of different sections
1:12:32 like there's about the salon this one's
1:12:34 really important check this out so about
1:12:36 the salon we'll talk about who we are
1:12:40 why we do what we do but there's also
1:12:41 our values here and this is really
1:12:43 important my request I I want I want
1:12:46 this community to grow I would love to
1:12:49 have you there but I also want to make
1:12:52 sure
1:12:52 that we don't lose what we have right
1:12:55 now which is a really special community
1:12:58 that are just amazingly supportive
1:13:00 people and part of the reason is we've
1:13:03 got these values that are I do not know
1:13:06 what's going on oh I think I know what's
1:13:08 going on with hang on I think I know
1:13:11 what's going on here hold please that's
1:13:14 what it is my camera was too low and it
1:13:17 was focusing on the front of my laptop
1:13:21 ha all right
1:13:24 um investors are pressuring stability AI
1:13:28 CEO to resign mayell company
1:13:31 interesting
1:13:33 uh huh no I don't know anything about
1:13:36 that I will I will look into that after
1:13:38 this because they're they stability is
1:13:40 doing really interesting things but I've
1:13:42 always thought that the fact that
1:13:45 they're open sourcing all of their
1:13:48 technology felt like a hedge against
1:13:50 lawsuits to
1:13:52 me
1:13:55 um generative and semantic which is
1:13:59 actually Superior all right uh I'll let
1:14:01 me let me come back to that okay so the
1:14:04 so the values of the salon um these are
1:14:07 kind of a reflection of who who what the
1:14:09 community is right now it's a it's a
1:14:10 community full of people that are
1:14:12 curious people that are generous so
1:14:14 people that that not only um are curious
1:14:18 about learning but also generous like
1:14:20 willing to share with they're learning
1:14:22 and that's really important to me and
1:14:24 it's it there's there's a lot of that
1:14:26 going on here um it's also people who
1:14:29 are adventurous that value exploration
1:14:32 um that are
1:14:33 collaborative um that are inclusive that
1:14:37 you know they don't care like what what
1:14:39 what you were doing it doesn't matter
1:14:41 what you were doing before or what your
1:14:42 background is or how uh whatever you
1:14:45 call it experienced you are um there are
1:14:47 people in the salon that are like I
1:14:49 heard AI was big what do I do and
1:14:52 there's people in the salon that have
1:14:53 been doing it for 30 years and and and
1:14:56 everyone in between it's amazing um and
1:14:58 then empathy is the final value like
1:15:02 like what these tools are doing right
1:15:05 now is is going to have profound impact
1:15:08 on lots of lives so there's a lot of
1:15:10 fear there's a lot of anger there's a
1:15:12 lot of resentment there's a lot of
1:15:14 misinformation and so having empathy
1:15:16 around that is critical because we're
1:15:19 we're all making our sort of the
1:15:22 transition in in our own ways on our own
1:15:25 time um so if you resonate with those
1:15:27 values come join us please and then and
1:15:31 then within here there are lots of cool
1:15:34 channels so there's there's water cooler
1:15:36 just a chat Channel there's a showand
1:15:37 tell Channel where people are just
1:15:39 putting up cool stuff that they've
1:15:41 done um oh that's really cool who did
1:15:45 that Daisy Christmas season in Florida
1:15:48 decorated sand castles that's
1:15:51 gorgeous super cool oo
1:15:55 Joker Joker Joker doing shrooms on a
1:15:58 Friday night apparently oh
1:16:03 yeah Joker Joker Joker is on it he'd be
1:16:07 tripping um Danielle oh that's super
1:16:10 cool be not afraid that's beautiful so
1:16:12 so show and tell there very
1:16:14 cool um what else is there there's a
1:16:17 news channel so if you've got things if
1:16:19 if anyone wants to if they haven't done
1:16:22 it yet someone go post the stability AI
1:16:25 news would be good to do in there um
1:16:29 there's tools and resources there's ask
1:16:30 for help then the thing that I'm really
1:16:32 excited about there are also guilds so
1:16:34 there's a 101 Guild there's an Art Guild
1:16:37 a writing Guild a business Guild P's got
1:16:39 a mechanics Guild for kind of you know
1:16:41 what's going on under the hood there's
1:16:43 healthc care there's video we're likely
1:16:45 going to do education we're likely going
1:16:46 to do uh other other guilds as as people
1:16:49 step up and and want to lead a guild um
1:16:52 so
1:16:55 I was telling my friend that this AI
1:16:57 stuff is like a supernatural High it
1:17:00 honest to God lunar stick it is it's the
1:17:03 thing that that struck me what what what
1:17:05 these lives have become for me is is
1:17:08 it's kind of a it's it's almost like a
1:17:11 video game where um you know in video
1:17:16 games you've got you get that endorphin
1:17:18 rush of like the immediate response you
1:17:20 know you push the trigger and the thing
1:17:22 blows up or you hit the gas pedal and
1:17:24 the car goes faster and this is like oh
1:17:27 I have an idea and there's the image oh
1:17:30 I want a song about cleaning dishes and
1:17:32 there it is right it's just like this
1:17:33 bang bang bang bang and it it is it's
1:17:37 like it's like a natural eye it's like
1:17:39 like I on a nightly basis like even
1:17:41 though I do this every night you'd think
1:17:43 it's like wow isn't it kind of
1:17:45 repetitive the the sort of tasks I do
1:17:48 are repetitive but
1:17:50 the amount of how blown away I am on a
1:17:53 nightly basis is not is not at all
1:17:56 repetitive it's still novel it's still
1:18:00 like it is it's a natural high it's just
1:18:03 Insanity so anyway so that's the AI
1:18:05 Salon all right so super cool Community
1:18:09 really powerful if those values resonate
1:18:12 with you join us if not that's cool too
1:18:15 they're not going to be your
1:18:17 peeps if you want to be all proprietary
1:18:20 and competitive and [ __ ] like that cool
1:18:22 I guarant to you there are communities
1:18:24 full of those
1:18:26 people um and that's cool too right
1:18:30 that's that's that's a that's that's
1:18:33 that's that's it that's how you do what
1:18:35 you do all right let me get back
1:18:39 [Music]
1:18:43 to where is my there we are okay back to
1:18:47 chat GPT can you explain how far they
1:18:50 open AR open AI are from AG so louva 611
1:18:55 AGI stands for artificial general
1:18:58 intelligence um and it is the point at
1:19:01 which so it's the the mission of open AI
1:19:07 is to achieve
1:19:10 AGI um and for the benefit of
1:19:15 humanity
1:19:17 um in an interview is I think it's in is
1:19:22 it in Vanity Fair whatever there's an
1:19:24 interview with Sam mman that came out
1:19:26 this week and in that article
1:19:31 he he he admits or I don't know if he
1:19:34 admits he reveals that the
1:19:38 qar
1:19:39 um the qar stuff that was the letter
1:19:43 about qar was a leak he confirmed that
1:19:46 it was an unfortunate leak so what that
1:19:49 says to me is that that letter was
1:19:51 legitimate and if you don't I don't know
1:19:53 what that letter was and and part of the
1:19:56 rumor about why Sam Alman was fired was
1:20:00 um IL ilas suts or someone at open AI
1:20:05 made aren't the only agis just chess
1:20:09 players yeah um I chess players are like
1:20:14 magicians to me I can my brain just do
1:20:16 not does not work like like I'm proud
1:20:20 that I can remember how the pieces move
1:20:22 much less than 38 moves ahead or 452
1:20:25 moves ahead
1:20:28 um so so apparently they made a
1:20:31 significant breakthrough and they did it
1:20:33 with this thing called
1:20:34 qar which is a combination of of this is
1:20:40 the the
1:20:42 the the rumor based on what people have
1:20:45 seen is there's a a gaming algorithm
1:20:49 called AAR and then there's there's
1:20:51 another kind of
1:20:54 uh machine learning algorithm called Q
1:20:58 learning and qar is apparently some kind
1:21:00 of amalgamation of the two of them and
1:21:03 they apparently got chat GPT to
1:21:06 successfully solve grade school level
1:21:09 math problems at a 100% accuracy the
1:21:14 100% accuracy is not what large language
1:21:18 models do and so
1:21:22 um
1:21:24 so once you can once you can do math
1:21:27 problems you
1:21:28 you you've got systems that are
1:21:31 effectively reasoning and once they're
1:21:33 reasoning then things accelerate very
1:21:36 very quickly because they can start to
1:21:37 reason and do things like improve
1:21:40 themselves um so the the speed with
1:21:43 which these systems are going to get
1:21:44 better is is if you think it's eyw
1:21:47 watering right now it's going to get way
1:21:49 more ey watering and then the final
1:21:51 little piece of this this
1:21:53 blur babbling
1:21:55 babbling is
1:22:00 um
1:22:02 the the definition of AGI from from open
1:22:06 AI is autonomous
1:22:08 systems that are better than humans at
1:22:13 most economically valuable
1:22:17 tasks and and it it's a very simple
1:22:20 sentence but there's a lot there's a lot
1:22:22 of import words in it autonomous systems
1:22:26 so the systems right now that we're
1:22:28 using chat GPT is not autonomous it's we
1:22:31 go in and we type stuff in and we give
1:22:33 it a prompt we we have to do prompt
1:22:35 engineering and then they answer us
1:22:39 autonomous systems are going to be like
1:22:41 you give it a goal and it will go start
1:22:43 prompting itself and it will take
1:22:45 actions on your behalf right so it's
1:22:47 just off doing
1:22:49 stuff and
1:22:51 so and and then you know know that are
1:22:53 better than humans at most economically
1:22:56 valuable tasks well what does that mean
1:23:00 it means that these autonomous systems
1:23:03 that you don't have to do much with can
1:23:05 do our jobs essentially all knowledge
1:23:08 work jobs and then when you hook these
1:23:11 things up to the humanoid robots that
1:23:14 there's five or six companies on the
1:23:15 verge of
1:23:17 releasing then then you can also do
1:23:20 non-n knowledge work jobs right so so so
1:23:24 uh so I don't know how close we are but
1:23:26 it seems that something has happened
1:23:28 that that means we're pretty close how
1:23:30 do they determine how much personality
1:23:32 it can have um that's largely that's
1:23:35 largely um a function of of how they
1:23:39 program these things and how how they
1:23:40 put the safety guard rails on them so
1:23:43 Elon musk's grock which is supposed to
1:23:45 come out this week um I still don't have
1:23:48 access to it although I did see some
1:23:49 people got access to it today um it's
1:23:52 got two modes it's got um normal modee
1:23:54 and it's got fun mode where it just
1:23:57 becomes a smartass right so you can
1:23:59 actually program these things to to be
1:24:01 you know more you know more stringent
1:24:03 more serious you can even do that with
1:24:06 in chat gbt I can I can show you that
1:24:08 right now um mustak their CEO has been
1:24:11 asked to resign I wonder what he did
1:24:14 interesting he's M mustak the the CEO
1:24:18 from stability AI has been one of those
1:24:20 he's been um
1:24:24 like super optimistic super like this
1:24:28 this stuff is going to change everything
1:24:29 it's going to take your jobs
1:24:34 um I don't I I it'll be really
1:24:37 interesting to see why they're asking
1:24:38 him to resign if anyone has any insight
1:24:41 on that let me
1:24:42 know oh he missed the more
1:24:45 examples sounds like fun I was at the
1:24:48 Microsoft ignite event and AI is coming
1:24:52 it's worse than video games it's true it
1:24:55 really is um I don't know what I would
1:24:59 do without the lives I'd be very quiet
1:25:01 oh it would be very
1:25:04 quiet hey are you saying I'm
1:25:07 [Laughter]
1:25:11 noisy all right let's see oh we got
1:25:14 something going on in the mods what you
1:25:16 guys talking about in
1:25:21 there
1:25:38 [Laughter]
1:25:40 [Music]
1:25:50 okay all right let's let's get back to
1:25:52 to cat GPT here for a second okay so so
1:25:55 where we left off I think it was an hour
1:25:57 ago I don't know if anyone's even still
1:25:59 here let me let me look uh oh there's
1:26:01 133 people in here hey everybody my
1:26:04 name's Kyle Shannon my voice is going
1:26:06 because I just did a I just came off a
1:26:09 24-hour version of one of these
1:26:11 yesterday and I'm
1:26:13 back
1:26:15 um and uh and what we do here is we chat
1:26:18 about [ __ ] and we show [ __ ] so so
1:26:20 someone asked me to sort of give the
1:26:22 basics of chat TBT so the first thing I
1:26:24 did is what I consider a parlor trick
1:26:26 this this in this case it was explain
1:26:28 how uh healthcare insurance claims work
1:26:31 in an Eminem WAP and it and it wrote
1:26:33 that really quickly um I could now also
1:26:35 do something like
1:26:38 um create a table that
1:26:41 compares US Health Care insurance versus
1:26:46 how you might Access Health Care in
1:26:50 Europe this should be fun
1:26:53 on and look good Lord GPT 3.5 one of the
1:26:58 things about GPT 3.5 it's very fast so
1:27:02 if you notice it just whipped up that
1:27:04 table so the insurance system is mostly
1:27:07 Private health insurance typically
1:27:08 Universal Health Insurance funding
1:27:10 primarily through employee based or
1:27:12 private plans tax funded through
1:27:14 government right and so it goes through
1:27:16 and it tells you all that stuff so you
1:27:17 can do stuff like that you could say um
1:27:21 what else could we do here I could do
1:27:25 um help me come up with a strategy
1:27:30 for communicating with my health
1:27:32 insurance company after they've denied a
1:27:37 claim all right and so it will just go
1:27:40 ahead and do
1:27:42 that um I could even
1:27:46 say I'd like to turn that strategy into
1:27:50 an application that allows me to
1:27:55 generate and send
1:28:00 emails on my behalf period I'd like to
1:28:03 use the open AI
1:28:06 API to generate the emails
1:28:12 and Gmail to send them period can you
1:28:15 write me a Python program that can
1:28:18 accomplish
1:28:21 this
1:28:25 explains what it is write your
1:28:28 code and if you haven't seen this before
1:28:31 you may be having your Kevin McAllister
1:28:34 moment um my big breakthrough with with
1:28:39 chat GPT which was about a week after
1:28:42 hey Kyle hope you will improve approve
1:28:44 my salon Community membership I will do
1:28:47 that right
1:28:51 now
1:29:00 done boom we don't [ __ ] around
1:29:04 here you want [ __ ] done you just do it
1:29:07 My Philosophy is shoot first figure out
1:29:11 maybe if you want to aim at some
1:29:13 [Laughter]
1:29:19 point wait seen the self operating
1:29:22 computer on Reddit you will two weeks
1:29:25 from now interesting all right quick
1:29:27 take Jake I like so is this the end of
1:29:30 capitalism no no I no Capital capitalism
1:29:33 is going to be
1:29:35 um is going to keep going strong what I
1:29:38 do think happens though is where the
1:29:40 centers of Power are in the capitalist
1:29:43 system May shift dramatically I the I I
1:29:48 don't I don't know enough about
1:29:50 macroeconomics to know but what I I know
1:29:53 is oh I think Champ's got to go pee
1:29:56 there there are a lot of
1:29:59 um a lot of Industries are going to H
1:30:02 have their business models challenged
1:30:05 and so that's going to create some
1:30:07 massive opportunities and where there
1:30:09 are massive opportunities there's going
1:30:11 to be shifts in power so one of the
1:30:13 things to pay attention to is the Old
1:30:17 Guard trying to legislate or Strongarm
1:30:22 to prevent them losing their position
1:30:27 and that's going to be wild so CU I
1:30:31 don't think they can put this Genie back
1:30:32 in the bottle so we're going to see a
1:30:34 lot of death throws of companies trying
1:30:36 to um retain relevance as as young
1:30:41 upstarts invade invade the uh their
1:30:44 markets hang on a
1:30:46 sec what's up champy you want to go to
1:30:51 Mama
1:30:53 [Music]
1:30:56 doggy want
1:31:04 [Music]
1:31:10 you you want to know something [ __ ] up
1:31:12 I've got that stupid song about
1:31:15 Sydney there's something about the the
1:31:18 Melody I I've got I've got a a song
1:31:21 stuck in my head
1:31:22 that AI
1:31:23 [Laughter]
1:31:25 wrote it just doesn't make any sense to
1:31:29 me okay so um so cat GPT
1:31:37 3.5 as um as far behind as it is GPT 4
1:31:42 it's still incredibly powerful so even
1:31:45 if you don't have access to um to gp4
1:31:49 yet um definitely get on the wait list
1:31:52 it's you can still do remarkable things
1:31:54 with it it's my contention I could
1:31:56 easily spend the next five or 10
1:32:00 years understanding how I could use this
1:32:03 existing technology to do what I do like
1:32:07 it it is um deceptively simple and
1:32:12 profoundly
1:32:14 deep so that's chat GPT
1:32:17 3.5 okay now within it so let's see so
1:32:21 so let me me do a new
1:32:27 chat oh here we go wait what's going
1:32:34 on am I
1:32:36 Frozen are GPT is searchable yet no it
1:32:40 looks like I might be frozen is my is my
1:32:42 internet
1:32:48 dead hello oh no okay I'm getting hearty
1:32:51 hearts
1:32:55 um hang on let me reload
1:32:58 here all right well there we go okay
1:33:01 um okay uh what was I going to do okay
1:33:05 so I'm still in chat GPT
1:33:08 3.5 there there is an incredibly
1:33:11 powerful
1:33:13 um feature for for both GPT 3.5 and GPT
1:33:18 4 called custom instructions well custom
1:33:21 instructions allows you to do is change
1:33:25 so so someone asked earlier about well
1:33:27 what happens with the personality of you
1:33:31 know how do you determine the
1:33:32 personality of these things with custom
1:33:34 instructions you can change the
1:33:36 personality of chat
1:33:38 GPT so we're going to do that now I
1:33:41 think I've got a funny one in here
1:33:42 that'll be fun so so wait we're going to
1:33:44 start out I'm going to say um let me
1:33:49 see
1:33:51 um tell
1:33:54 me about um
1:33:59 photo
1:34:02 synthesis and it will photosynthesis is
1:34:05 a fundamental biological
1:34:07 process here's a simplified overview
1:34:10 light absorption conversation of light
1:34:12 energy so it's it's nice and descriptive
1:34:14 photosynthesis is not only important for
1:34:16 plants but also for the heterotropic
1:34:19 organisms nice I didn't even even know
1:34:22 there were heter heterotropic
1:34:25 organisms um overall photosynthesis is a
1:34:28 critical process blah blah blah blah
1:34:30 blah okay
1:34:33 cool little boring little little
1:34:35 expected that's fine I didn't give it
1:34:37 any context I just gave it that's a if
1:34:40 you want to know about prompt
1:34:41 engineering tell me about photosynthesis
1:34:43 is a shitty prompt but that's okay we'll
1:34:46 dig into that a little bit what I'm
1:34:48 going to do though is I'm going to come
1:34:49 over here to my my account on the bottom
1:34:52 and I'm going to go to custom
1:34:53 instructions and so you see I've got
1:34:55 some words in here but this is not
1:34:57 turned on so I'm going to turn it on and
1:34:59 what what the what these two boxes are
1:35:01 the first one is basically who are you
1:35:04 and the second one is how do you want
1:35:06 how do you want chat GPT to
1:35:08 respond um I asked about photosynthesis
1:35:11 the other day to make to make Plants
1:35:13 White was my goal oh that's super cool
1:35:15 that's really interesting um so here's
1:35:19 what I wrote in my custom instructions
1:35:22 sorry my voice is going hold on hold
1:35:24 please need some
1:35:32 liquid wait what's that
1:35:40 say oh yeah I saw that okay yeah markall
1:35:45 is
1:35:48 red you're all caught up okay sorry I'll
1:35:52 I'll be right that
1:35:57 people all right so what I wrote you're
1:36:00 a lover of words uh do you love fancy
1:36:05 words that's not written right but
1:36:06 whatever you insist on using words in
1:36:09 every
1:36:10 response that even you don't understand
1:36:13 it is your great pleasure in life to
1:36:15 watch people confused by what you say
1:36:18 knowing that if they parse your Genius
1:36:20 statements they will indeed find that
1:36:23 they are accurate all right so so I'm
1:36:27 turning Chad GPT into a pompus
1:36:30 ass how do I want chat GPT to respond
1:36:33 when someone asks you a question follow
1:36:35 these rules always start with an obscure
1:36:38 literary reference to their question uh
1:36:41 that their question reminds you of and
1:36:42 find a way to work a quote from that
1:36:44 work into your answer when you answer
1:36:47 the question make sure you can use the
1:36:49 most complicated words possible ALS also
1:36:52 include tangents where you tell the
1:36:53 story of a word that you just introduced
1:36:56 in answering their question it should
1:36:59 take them a while to understand if
1:37:00 you're e if you're ever going to answer
1:37:02 their question so I'm going to save
1:37:05 this and now chat
1:37:08 GPT will turn into a pompus s so I'm
1:37:11 going to copy that prompt I'm going to
1:37:13 do a new prompt all right and then I'm
1:37:15 just going to go paste tell me about
1:37:20 photosynthesis ah photo synthesis the
1:37:22 mar marvelous achemical The Marvelous
1:37:26 achemical process by which green Flora
1:37:29 transmute the Ethereal essence of
1:37:31 sunlight into Tang tangible sustenance
1:37:34 it calls to mind the words of
1:37:35 Shakespeare from his play as you like it
1:37:38 all the world's a stage and the and all
1:37:40 the men and women are merely players in
1:37:42 this theater of Life photosynthesis
1:37:44 plays a starring role in right so holy
1:37:47 [ __ ] chat GPT is like a pompous ass now
1:37:50 so open AI could have programmed chat
1:37:54 gbt to act like this but what they've
1:37:57 done is they gave us custom instructions
1:37:59 so that you can change that now one one
1:38:02 uh caveat about custom instructions if
1:38:05 you do something stupid like I just did
1:38:08 and forget that you you did it and don't
1:38:10 turn them off like you'll come back the
1:38:12 next day to chat GPT and you'll you'll
1:38:14 ask at something and all of a sudden
1:38:16 it's just acting bizarre and you're like
1:38:17 what the [ __ ] is going on here it's like
1:38:19 oh yeah you you turned it into a pompus
1:38:21 ass that's that's what's going on um you
1:38:24 could also so a useful use of this could
1:38:29 be you could say here's how I like to
1:38:32 respond uh in my business Communications
1:38:35 and I I want you always to use this kind
1:38:37 of tone I want you to be formal or I
1:38:39 want you to be um less formal and when I
1:38:42 ask you to to write correspondence I
1:38:45 want you to you know use this example
1:38:47 right you could do things like that all
1:38:49 right so that's custom instructions
1:38:53 so if
1:38:55 you're
1:38:57 um if you're new to all this
1:39:01 stuff don't feel like you have to
1:39:03 explore every tool out there I know I've
1:39:05 showed a lot of tools
1:39:07 tonight just play with chat GPT like you
1:39:10 don't need to go farther than this okay
1:39:12 so now I'm going to flip over and I'm
1:39:14 going to show you um
1:39:17 gp4 and and it's a beast there's a lot
1:39:20 going on there if you don't have access
1:39:21 to gp4 you can also go
1:39:25 to I'm going to go there now
1:39:29 co-pilot
1:39:31 microsoft.com and co-pilot microsoft.com
1:39:35 is Microsoft's version of chat gp4 and
1:39:38 it is
1:39:39 free and it's it's decent it's talking
1:39:44 about custom instructions the custom
1:39:46 instructions or the the the instructions
1:39:49 in Microsoft the the safety guard rails
1:39:51 here are really egregious so a lot of
1:39:54 times you'll try to do something here
1:39:55 and it'll just go I don't feel
1:39:57 comfortable doing that or I don't like
1:39:58 your tone we're going to shut this
1:40:00 conversation down it's it's a pain in
1:40:02 the ass but it is
1:40:04 free and it is it is gp4 so I I can also
1:40:09 it's it's got dolly3 image generation in
1:40:11 it so I can say create an image of and
1:40:17 iguana um
1:40:20 lounging on the
1:40:23 beach
1:40:25 and says I'll try to create
1:40:34 [Music]
1:40:50 that
1:40:53 so it's dolly3 so this is you know high
1:40:56 quality world class right now image
1:41:01 generation right iguana lounging on the
1:41:04 beach I didn't give it any creative
1:41:06 Direction but there you go it did it
1:41:10 okay um so so that's your option but
1:41:13 let's go back to chat gbt so if you have
1:41:15 access to chat
1:41:16 gp4 um let's go play so we're going to
1:41:19 flip over to chat gp4 it looks exactly
1:41:22 the
1:41:22 same um with the one exception is
1:41:25 there's a little paperclip here so the
1:41:28 paperclip means you can upload files to
1:41:31 this thing and you can do stuff now the
1:41:33 past two or three nights some of the
1:41:35 things that I've tried to show with this
1:41:37 thing have crapped out like their their
1:41:39 systems were overloaded so you know just
1:41:42 know that that may happen but that's the
1:41:44 that's the stage of the industry we're
1:41:46 in right now uh I'm going to
1:41:50 upload I'm I'm going to upload a
1:41:54 whiteboard so one of the things chat gbt
1:41:56 can do is it can
1:41:58 see but what do you mean I can say it
1:42:01 doesn't have
1:42:03 eyes oh
1:42:05 Contra oh
1:42:06 Contra CU you can use your camera on
1:42:09 your on the the chat GPT app you can
1:42:13 also do this on the chat GPT app on your
1:42:15 iPhone so you could do this in the
1:42:16 grocery store in fact Vicky Vicky who's
1:42:20 in here she's one of the organized of
1:42:21 the salon and she's a a longtime
1:42:24 irregular um had put together a special
1:42:28 GPT to to plan her shopping you know for
1:42:32 dietary stuff right and she got to the
1:42:35 store and she saw something that she
1:42:38 wanted to that she that looked
1:42:41 good but it wasn't on her list so she
1:42:43 wanted to know is this you know does
1:42:45 this violate my my diet and so she took
1:42:49 a picture of the ingredients from the
1:42:52 box and said is is this on my diet and
1:42:55 because all of her diet was in that GPT
1:42:59 uh it told her right so so this this uh
1:43:03 Vision stuff is pretty wild and the the
1:43:07 other thing about division stuff is you
1:43:09 you're you're about to see
1:43:11 here
1:43:13 um images now become
1:43:16 prompts and so people talk a lot about
1:43:18 prompt engineering well you can learn
1:43:21 impr prompt engineering but you're not
1:43:22 going to have to the the way that we'll
1:43:24 get these machines to do what we want
1:43:26 are going to get very very intuitive and
1:43:28 very very simple um so so this is a a
1:43:32 sort of hint into that future so I'm
1:43:33 just going to say what is what is
1:43:40 this and it's a whiteboard and it's not
1:43:43 a whiteboard I did I just got it off the
1:43:44 internet I just downloaded it it says
1:43:46 the image appears to be a photo of a
1:43:48 whiteboard with handdrawn sketches let
1:43:50 me make this the text bigger so you can
1:43:52 see it a little better um the notes
1:43:55 suggest the UI is an ordering system
1:43:57 potentially for use in an airport it
1:43:59 outlines the main steps checking flight
1:44:02 status there are also sketches I'm going
1:44:04 go oh okay
1:44:06 great okay
1:44:08 great can you describe the application
1:44:12 from an end user
1:44:18 perspective certainly from an end user
1:44:20 perspective there's a welcome screen
1:44:22 there's menu
1:44:26 selection there's ordering there's
1:44:28 payment there's status and if I go back
1:44:30 to this image if I if I sort of zoom in
1:44:32 on this thing can I zoom here no I can't
1:44:35 uh but anyway these are sketches of like
1:44:38 this is an ordering interface and this
1:44:39 is a a product interface and this is
1:44:42 where you put in your credit card so
1:44:43 like it's read all of this it's read all
1:44:45 of this all of the sort of words and you
1:44:48 know this says like or ordering users
1:44:52 here's our user types here's questions
1:44:54 right there's all this then there's
1:44:55 these little sketches so this is this is
1:44:57 a typical software brainstorming session
1:45:02 right and so now we've got it broken out
1:45:07 so it now knows here's here's all the
1:45:08 things there's a status update there's
1:45:10 entertainment there's additional
1:45:11 features it seems to consider additional
1:45:15 useful features like currency
1:45:17 conversion references possibly to
1:45:19 airport services or direct iies time
1:45:22 sensitive ordering benefits great okay
1:45:25 so I'm going to go great let's come up
1:45:29 with some product
1:45:32 positioning for this and 10 possible
1:45:37 names for the
1:45:40 [Laughter]
1:45:48 app product positioning statement
1:45:51 navigate your airport dining experience
1:45:53 with ease and efficiency our app is a
1:45:56 travel companion that
1:45:58 ensures you enjoy a stress Fe free meal
1:46:01 stay updated from your flight okay great
1:46:04 jet Feast Gate Gourmet fly bites Arrow
1:46:07 eats terminal taste Sky
1:46:10 saver all right those are okay they're
1:46:13 they're not great I'm going to
1:46:15 say eh those names bore me and I find
1:46:20 them a little cliche please give me 10
1:46:23 more names that are compelling and
1:46:25 interesting and unique and not
1:46:30 dumb now if I told if I told uh Bing
1:46:34 chat a co-pilot Microsoft's one it was
1:46:37 dumb it would probably give me some
1:46:38 comment like I'm sorry I disappointed
1:46:41 you why don't we just shut this
1:46:42 conversation down if you think I'm a
1:46:44 dumb dumb um so so so Sydney's a little
1:46:49 TR she she's a a little
1:46:52 insecure um gastronomes gate Munch map
1:46:57 we're going with Munch
1:47:00 map Munch that the poster has a QR code
1:47:04 on it so that people can find Munch map
1:47:11 easily and so here's another thing that
1:47:13 chat gp4 can do it can create images now
1:47:18 what's important about this is if you go
1:47:21 to something like mid Journey or stable
1:47:23 diffusion you have to do prompt
1:47:25 engineering you have to learn things
1:47:26 like what are the conventions how do I
1:47:29 how do I tell mid Journey that I want a
1:47:31 wide image or a tall image well you've
1:47:33 got to learn little codes and how do I
1:47:35 change different models you've got to
1:47:37 you've got to learn all this [ __ ] to
1:47:39 make images what happens with chat GPT
1:47:41 is you just talk it in the context of a
1:47:44 conversation now just errored out for me
1:47:47 so this this is what's been happening uh
1:47:49 let me just say try again see we'll see
1:47:51 if we can get it to
1:47:52 go cuz this one this one is um is really
1:47:57 impressive when it works because it what
1:48:00 what it ends up doing is rendering like
1:48:01 an airport scene with the poster with
1:48:04 the the interface on it but it's it
1:48:06 looks like it's not going to do it I'm
1:48:08 sorry for the technical confusion I'm G
1:48:09 to say all right I'm say that's okay
1:48:13 what I'd like to do now is have
1:48:17 you
1:48:18 recommend Technologies for the front end
1:48:21 of this app and for the database period
1:48:25 and give me some initial code for
1:48:33 each for modern responsive applications
1:48:36 for Munch map I would recommend
1:48:37 technologies that can support a smooth
1:48:39 user experience and handle real-time
1:48:41 data here's the recommendation react a
1:48:44 JavaScript library um Redux SAS
1:48:47 bootstrap react native uh initial
1:48:50 frontend code react component there's
1:48:53 your code um database Technologies
1:48:56 Firebase mongodb postgress
1:48:59 SQL um here's your Firebase
1:49:02 setup
1:49:05 so without really prompting and without
1:49:08 thinking about it at all we've gone from
1:49:12 what is this
1:49:14 whiteboard to
1:49:18 code and marketing positioning and the
1:49:20 name of the
1:49:23 app so so this is what's meant by
1:49:27 multimodality like that chat GPT is this
1:49:29 multimodal thing this can also do um
1:49:33 analysis uh uh uh data analysis so let's
1:49:36 say that you also had for this app you
1:49:39 had some research that was done and the
1:49:41 research is in a CSV file you could
1:49:44 upload the CSV file and say hey chat GPT
1:49:47 analyze the data in the CSV file and
1:49:50 tell tell me which you know recommend
1:49:53 the top five airports that we should
1:49:55 start marketing this app app at based on
1:49:59 the trends that you see and it will go
1:50:02 figure that [ __ ] out it writes and
1:50:04 executes its own python code okay
1:50:09 so what is possible with this I don't
1:50:13 have a [ __ ]
1:50:17 clue just what you wanted to hear right
1:50:20 now
1:50:21 here's here's the
1:50:24 deal chat GPT can be very very
1:50:28 intimidating if you just start with chat
1:50:30 GPT and you sit in front of it like let
1:50:33 me let me flip it all right there's your
1:50:35 blank screen right even though it gives
1:50:37 you some suggested things here this
1:50:40 blank screen is I find it really
1:50:42 intimidating because it can essentially
1:50:45 do
1:50:47 anything which you're like but well so
1:50:50 what what would I even do with it
1:50:52 exactly like that's why it's
1:50:53 intimidating right you're like well
1:50:54 where do I start so here's here's the
1:50:56 trick and you'll in the in the lower
1:50:59 leftand corner of the screen I've got a
1:51:01 um a video series called underhyped um
1:51:05 and it talks about why AI is a big deal
1:51:07 and why it's important but but some of
1:51:09 the videos in there talk about this idea
1:51:11 that I'm sharing now that that how you
1:51:15 get um how you get past sort of the
1:51:18 writer block of chat GPT
1:51:21 is just ignore chat gbt for a minute go
1:51:24 to your life and or or you know talk to
1:51:27 someone else and start with a problem
1:51:29 start with a problem to solve so if
1:51:32 you're like oh my friend Sally you know
1:51:35 wants to start a gardening store and and
1:51:37 she's never started a business before
1:51:39 and I I don't know what to tell her okay
1:51:41 great perfect reach out to Sally and say
1:51:44 hey Sally uh I got this chat GPT thing
1:51:48 come on over and let's let's play
1:51:49 together okay okay I don't I don't know
1:51:51 what you're doing but I trust you I'll
1:51:52 come over and then Sally will come over
1:51:55 and you go into chat GPT and and you ask
1:51:57 Sally about her business hey where where
1:51:58 are you on this oh well I got a I got a
1:52:02 someone told me I need a business plan
1:52:04 what what I don't know what to do oh
1:52:06 okay great so I don't I don't either
1:52:08 let's say um uh my friend Sally wants to
1:52:14 start a gardening store and does doesn't
1:52:20 know what a
1:52:24 business business
1:52:28 plan should
1:52:30 be uh can you help question mark and the
1:52:34 answer is always yes absolutely I can
1:52:37 help with that A business plan is
1:52:39 crucial document or anything you need an
1:52:41 executive summary you need a company
1:52:43 description you need market analysis
1:52:44 okay this is all very
1:52:46 intimidating and it'll go on and on and
1:52:48 on and then I can say um
1:52:51 um that seems
1:52:54 [Music]
1:52:56 intimidating can we take it
1:53:00 step by
1:53:04 step and then it
1:53:07 will choke out and not
1:53:11 [Laughter]
1:53:18 work we're going to we're going to
1:53:20 reload oh did I freeze I wonder if I
1:53:23 froze it looks like my internet is
1:53:35 gone can chat
1:53:38 GPT get women to come over to my
1:53:42 house well I mean so so I mean what's
1:53:46 funny
1:53:47 is using something like zapier
1:53:50 automations or what if I'm what if I'm
1:53:53 the problem Kyle quick take Jake ABS
1:53:56 you're absolutely the problem
1:53:59 um I think my my internet there was a
1:54:02 problem preparing your chat please
1:54:04 refresh the page and try again I'm
1:54:09 trying resolving host yeah I'm having
1:54:12 DNS
1:54:13 issues am I Frozen am I here wait hang
1:54:17 on am I Frozen
1:54:25 [Music]
1:54:29 that worked okay there it just came back
1:54:31 well anyway so you get the idea start
1:54:34 with a
1:54:35 problem and then just start
1:54:37 experimenting with chat GPT whether it's
1:54:39 3.5 or four it doesn't [ __ ]
1:54:42 matter um let let's say your friend
1:54:44 Sally doesn't want to start a gardening
1:54:46 store she's got some sketches for her
1:54:48 backyard garden
1:54:50 you could upload the sketches for her
1:54:52 backyard garden have chat GPT look at it
1:54:55 and then recommend the kind of plants
1:54:57 for your region to put in the
1:55:00 garden and then you could have it
1:55:02 generate an image of what that Garden
1:55:04 might look like based on those
1:55:05 recommendations so so start with a
1:55:07 problem and then just try to figure out
1:55:10 how to get chat gp2 to use it okay I'm
1:55:12 going to show you one other thing and
1:55:13 that I got to go it's 11 and I'm Crispy
1:55:15 no you're good okay
1:55:17 great so one of the other things that
1:55:20 that chat gp4 launched 3 weeks ago
1:55:25 now it's it seems like it was [ __ ]
1:55:27 four years ago because of all the Sam
1:55:29 Alman drama they launched these things
1:55:32 called
1:55:33 gpts which I think is brilliant branding
1:55:35 by the way they're not calling them Bots
1:55:37 cuz Bots sound like robots and robots
1:55:39 scare the [ __ ] out of people cuz
1:55:41 Hollywood told us that the robots are
1:55:42 going to kill
1:55:44 us the robots are not going to kill us
1:55:46 the robots are going to be neurotic
1:55:48 pains in the asses I think we we have we
1:55:50 have established that
1:55:53 now
1:55:55 um all right wait something's going on
1:55:57 in
1:56:03 mods
1:56:09 okay all right
1:56:13 um what was I talking about
1:56:16 hold oh these gpts so they launch these
1:56:19 things called
1:56:21 gpts
1:56:23 um which if you've ever been on PO the
1:56:25 site po Poe they've got these things
1:56:28 called Bots these are almost identical
1:56:30 to that but but the chat gbt ones are
1:56:32 more
1:56:33 powerful um and easier to make for for a
1:56:38 couple of reasons um how you make them
1:56:41 so if if you're if you haven't made them
1:56:44 before your chat GPT will the the
1:56:46 sidebar here will probably look
1:56:48 something like this no hang on where oh
1:56:52 not not that hold it'll probably look
1:56:55 something like this where you've got
1:56:57 your prompt history down here you'll
1:56:59 have the chat GPT logo here and You' got
1:57:00 an explore button here you might have
1:57:03 like three or four of these round icons
1:57:07 that that are you know one might say do
1:57:10 and and those are um gpts created by uh
1:57:15 chat gbt open AI um when you start
1:57:18 making them they kind of show up in
1:57:20 sidebar here so I've been making a lot
1:57:21 of these cuz I make them here on the
1:57:23 live um and and you know these are like
1:57:26 I've got one called chat add I've got
1:57:29 another one called chat
1:57:31 TMZ I've got the candy critic um I've
1:57:34 got Sin City sipper so Sin City sipper
1:57:37 is the very first GPT I made so we'll go
1:57:39 play with that one because it's a fun
1:57:41 one um so um what Sin City sipper is is
1:57:45 a Vegas bartender with a Twist on the
1:57:47 classic so so it will recommend drinks
1:57:50 that are sort of an upgrade on drinks so
1:57:52 let's say reinvent the margarita for me
1:57:54 so I've got some pre pre uh pre-written
1:57:58 uh prompts here so someone can just come
1:58:00 in and just click on one of these so I'm
1:58:01 going to say reinvent the
1:58:03 margarita ah the margarita Timeless
1:58:05 classic right so this is going to be the
1:58:07 neon margarita recipe it's tequila
1:58:10 Triple Sec fresh lime blue ciraa neon
1:58:14 blue twist simple syrup salt for [ __ ]
1:58:17 the glass a lime wheel and a neon
1:58:19 colored cocktail umbrella
1:58:21 awesome so we're going to Rim the glass
1:58:23 we're going to shake it up we're going
1:58:24 to serve it we're going to Gar garnish
1:58:26 it skill level intermediate you got this
1:58:30 now let's whip up a visualization and
1:58:32 now it builds an image of that drink how
1:58:36 [ __ ] cool is this and this is Sin
1:58:39 City sipper is is something that's out
1:58:41 in the public that
1:58:44 um that you know other people can use so
1:58:47 you can share these so you can very very
1:58:50 quickly turn Chat GPT into a specialized
1:58:54 tool that's highly
1:58:57 sophisticated in in like face melting
1:59:01 eye-watering ways without knowing a
1:59:05 [ __ ] thing about programming like
1:59:07 zero zero with zero
1:59:10 knowledge one of the
1:59:12 intimidation factors about AI is that
1:59:16 historically you really did have to have
1:59:19 a mathematics degree to be to be in it
1:59:23 you had to be an engineer you had to be
1:59:24 a
1:59:25 researcher having having a degree from
1:59:27 MIT or Stanford's probably a good
1:59:30 call chat GPT changed all that the
1:59:33 reason I spent 24 hours live yesterday
1:59:36 celebrating the birthday of chat GPT is
1:59:39 that for
1:59:40 me the launch of chat GPT marks an
1:59:43 inflection point in
1:59:45 history it's it's when a tool was
1:59:48 created
1:59:50 that allowed the rest of us to access
1:59:53 this technology that was was previously
1:59:56 the purview of scientists the exact same
1:59:58 thing happened in the mid90s when the
2:00:01 internet had been around for decades and
2:00:02 Tim burner Lee came up with the
2:00:04 worldwide web and the internet went from
2:00:06 being a thing that you had to use
2:00:08 command line you know uh command line uh
2:00:12 commands to to make work to you could
2:00:16 just point and click on [ __ ] I could I
2:00:18 could click on a hyperlink and it takes
2:00:20 me to a whole another country click
2:00:22 click
2:00:23 click it democratized this incredibly
2:00:27 powerful technology chat GPT is the same
2:00:30 thing these gpts take it a step further
2:00:34 and say not only have we democra
2:00:37 democratized access to this powerful
2:00:39 technology we've now
2:00:41 democratized sophisticated application
2:00:44 development
2:00:46 okay so how do you make one of these how
2:00:49 do you you make one of these things that
2:00:50 makes a remarkable neon Margarita I mean
2:00:53 look at that you could put that right in
2:00:54 a
2:00:56 menu and it's called a neon Margarita
2:00:59 it's like it's like a good name for it
2:01:01 and everything oh look what else I did
2:01:02 here I I programmed this programmed
2:01:05 programmed this air quotes in such a way
2:01:09 that after it gives you a drink it says
2:01:11 for more tasty Mixology Adventures check
2:01:14 out story vine.com now story vine.com is
2:01:17 my company we do we do not make drinks
2:01:20 we make video we have automated video
2:01:23 technology but but I just I put into
2:01:26 this that at the end of giving everyone
2:01:27 a drink do a call to action so we were
2:01:31 talking before about Sally and she wants
2:01:33 to start a gardening store imagine if
2:01:36 Sally put out something that said you
2:01:38 know your your horiculture
2:01:41 um Q&A expert she made a GPT about
2:01:45 plants in the in the region of St Louis
2:01:47 cuz you live in St Louis and at the end
2:01:49 of every little interaction with this
2:01:52 tool it recommended you know come down
2:01:55 to Sally's gardening store and here's
2:01:58 the phone number and here's the address
2:01:59 and here's the hyperlink to the website
2:02:01 done Bang there there's a marketing tool
2:02:04 that you could put out in the
2:02:05 world okay how do you make one of these
2:02:11 things th this is mind-blowing to me too
2:02:15 okay so you go to the explore Tab and
2:02:18 what you'll see if you have made one
2:02:20 before is you'll probably see made by
2:02:23 open Ai and then you'll see all their
2:02:25 example gpts and you can go play with
2:02:27 these you can go use them but at the top
2:02:29 of the list you'll see create a GPT beta
2:02:32 so this is this is new it's changing as
2:02:35 we speak please approve my registration
2:02:37 all right there should be people in
2:02:39 there doing that but let me go
2:02:44 see you're all caught up you should be
2:02:46 good to
2:02:47 go all right thank you Vicky or whoever
2:02:50 is approving people thank you mods by
2:02:52 the way the the people that are um
2:02:55 paying attention to your comments and
2:02:57 pulling them to the top so I can see
2:02:59 them um video stopped here uh I wonder
2:03:03 how old that
2:03:04 is it reload I reloaded and it's fine
2:03:07 okay great
2:03:09 um thank you to the mods they're the
2:03:12 people that are dealing with the chaos
2:03:15 of all of you and pulling it up so that
2:03:17 the important comments uh are something
2:03:19 I can see while I'm sort of rabbit H
2:03:21 holding here okay so we're going to make
2:03:23 a new one of these things you say create
2:03:25 a
2:03:26 GPT there's there's two windows there's
2:03:29 the create window and then there's the
2:03:33 uh what they call the playground the GPT
2:03:35 window the the test window this is
2:03:38 instant and and if you go over here on
2:03:40 the create side there's kind of two
2:03:42 panels there's there's the one it
2:03:45 defaults to is called create the other
2:03:47 panel is called configure and configure
2:03:50 is you can upload an image you can name
2:03:52 your your GPT you can give it a
2:03:54 description you can write a prompt um
2:03:56 you can uh write those starter questions
2:04:00 those those uh you know pre pre-selected
2:04:03 prompts um this thing right here is a
2:04:07 big [ __ ] deal
2:04:09 knowledge you can upload your own
2:04:12 knowledge let me show you a GPT I did I
2:04:15 created a
2:04:17 GPT yesterday
2:04:21 today called salmon flying East
2:04:25 screenplay
2:04:26 decoder explore Kyle Shannon and Brian
2:04:29 dyst haunting screenplay I uploaded a
2:04:32 PDF of a screenplay I wrote 30 years ago
2:04:36 and you can now ask questions about that
2:04:38 screenplay it'll tell you about the
2:04:40 scenes and every scene that it tells you
2:04:42 about it will render a storyboard image
2:04:46 from the
2:04:47 movie it's it's amazing so you can
2:04:50 create these things based on any
2:04:53 information that you want but you don't
2:04:54 even have to do that so we're going to
2:04:56 go back let me go
2:04:59 back I'm going to create a
2:05:02 GPT so the way you do this you you can
2:05:05 hand code this stuff over here um but
2:05:09 we're going to start with the create
2:05:11 mode what the create mode is this is
2:05:13 just chat GPT so I said before you don't
2:05:17 need to do know any program you don't
2:05:19 need to know any technology if if one of
2:05:22 your fears about AI is butle I'm not
2:05:26 technical enough I don't I don't know
2:05:28 I'm not good with computers K I don't
2:05:30 know what to do where do I
2:05:32 start stop
2:05:35 that it's here for
2:05:37 you you just tell it what you want and
2:05:40 it does it what do you mean it does it
2:05:43 okay I got to come up with an idea this
2:05:44 is the toughest part coming up with the
2:05:47 idea a all right what are we going to do
2:05:50 what are we going to do what are we
2:05:51 going to
2:05:53 [Music]
2:05:56 do
2:05:58 um we'll do the gardening
2:06:02 one
2:06:06 okay I want to create a
2:06:11 GPT
2:06:14 that helps
2:06:18 people understand what
2:06:22 plants they should plant in their region
2:06:25 oh wait what's going on why is that not
2:06:27 working where why is it not talking
2:06:30 hello
2:06:35 okay I'd like to create a GPT that helps
2:06:38 people choose which plants to plant for
2:06:42 their region and the specific time of
2:06:45 year and also how to take care of those
2:06:48 plants throughout the
2:06:52 [Music]
2:06:53 year and that's
2:06:55 it so it says oh it's not saying
2:06:58 anything right now because GPT is slow
2:07:01 is slow than that people all right so it
2:07:03 says updating GPT it is now writing all
2:07:07 of the prompts to make this thing
2:07:09 work their Zone that's right Silver Fox
2:07:13 I should say Zone maybe it it may come
2:07:15 we'll see what it comes back with what
2:07:17 did I say their region all right how
2:07:20 about naming this green thumb guide does
2:07:23 that sound good to you it's close but
2:07:26 it's a little boring give me 10 names
2:07:28 that suck
2:07:32 less I like picking on the
2:07:34 [Laughter]
2:07:40 robots plant Whisperer I like that one
2:07:44 veggie virtuoso botanic buddy pedal
2:07:48 advisor
2:07:50 Flora Guru Garden genius Sprout
2:07:53 specialist floral friend I I'm going to
2:07:55 go with plant
2:07:56 Whisperer let's go with the plant
2:08:01 Whisperer all
2:08:06 right oh the daylight Zone okay we'll
2:08:09 we'll add
2:08:12 that so it's updating the GPT so it's
2:08:16 going to name it the plant Whisperer oh
2:08:18 and by the way over here this is now a
2:08:20 functional version of this GPT even
2:08:22 though I'm updating it already before we
2:08:24 started I can go over and start using
2:08:27 this thing right now but we're going to
2:08:29 wait it's generating a profile picture
2:08:31 now so remember I said you can upload a
2:08:33 picture that represents this GPT it's
2:08:35 just going ahead and making that for you
2:08:37 so what open ai's done here is they've
2:08:40 taken the power of gp4 and put it as the
2:08:44 interface to this bot Builder so all you
2:08:48 have to do is talk it into
2:08:50 existence it's [ __ ]
2:08:53 insane here's the picture profile for
2:08:57 the plant whisper it captures a less
2:08:58 vibrant Garden does this suit your need
2:09:01 or would you like any changes I'll say
2:09:05 yes now let's hang on boy is it slow
2:09:09 it's so slow people but I want it
2:09:12 now all right let's refine the role and
2:09:15 goal of plant Whisperer um think about
2:09:18 the specific types of interactions I'm
2:09:20 going to say one thing I forgot is that
2:09:24 I want to make sure that it includes the
2:09:28 daylight
2:09:30 zones that
2:09:33 are standard in gardening
2:09:38 conversations I don't know [ __ ] about
2:09:40 gardening oh USDA zones oh well H
2:09:43 something seems to have gone wrong we
2:09:44 don't like you getting more
2:09:47 specific
2:09:49 chat GPT Builder all right updating the
2:09:52 GPT so it's now going to fix
2:09:55 that and after it fixes this we'll go
2:09:57 over and play with
2:10:00 it let's see did you crap out again what
2:10:03 are you doing you thinking all right now
2:10:05 let's consider what should be emphasized
2:10:08 or avoided all right we'll we'll come
2:10:11 back to it it it will it wants to know
2:10:13 how we make it better so from the first
2:10:16 moment I said I want this and it said
2:10:18 okay it's done
2:10:19 it repopulates this window to the right
2:10:22 and and this is a functional version of
2:10:24 this GPT so here's some here's some pre
2:10:28 pre-written questions what plants should
2:10:30 I grow in Florida during something let
2:10:32 me reduce the size of this during summer
2:10:35 how do I care for roses in a cold
2:10:38 climate what's the best indoor plant for
2:10:40 low light would you recommend easy to
2:10:42 care for plants I'm going to go low
2:10:44 light so I'm just going to click on that
2:10:46 and the plant Whisperer is going to talk
2:10:49 about it the snake
2:10:50 plant the spider
2:10:55 [Music]
2:11:04 plant all right so great it did that
2:11:07 awesome I'm gonna I'm G to add one thing
2:11:09 to it I'm going to go over here so let
2:11:10 me show you something when we go to the
2:11:12 configure tab now all of the stuff that
2:11:15 wasn't filled in before has been filled
2:11:16 in for us um it's got a really nice
2:11:20 prompt here uh it's got a description it
2:11:23 it's got the name it's got that image
2:11:25 it's got these pre-written
2:11:28 questions um we could upload knowledge
2:11:30 files if we had a PDF of a Gardening
2:11:32 Guide but notice here that it's got web
2:11:35 browsing and dolly3 image generation and
2:11:38 this thing called code interpreter you
2:11:40 can turn on or off these features of
2:11:43 gp4
2:11:46 um that that are TR truly remarkable so
2:11:49 I'm going to leave web browsing on
2:11:52 because let's say someone said you you
2:11:55 know I I want uh I want to know what the
2:11:59 weather's like in Denver right now and
2:12:02 it can connect to the internet and go
2:12:04 get realtime weather image generation
2:12:06 we're going to play with that that's I'm
2:12:08 going to
2:12:10 say okay it looks like it works good
2:12:13 right now but what I'd like to add to
2:12:16 this is anytime it recommends
2:12:19 one or more
2:12:22 plants I want it to also pick one of
2:12:25 those plants and create a photograph of
2:12:28 it so the person knows what it looks
2:12:34 like all right updating GPT so
2:12:39 again a lot of people talk about prompt
2:12:42 engineering while we're technically
2:12:44 prompting here I would argue that this
2:12:47 is not prompt engineering in this is
2:12:49 more like having a conversation about
2:12:52 the [ __ ] you want now you can get a lot
2:12:55 more technical you can flip over to
2:12:57 configure mode and do fullon prompt
2:13:01 Engineering in that prompting box right
2:13:03 so you can get very very sophisticated
2:13:06 with this but you don't have to okay all
2:13:09 right so now let's see
2:13:12 um um
2:13:16 recommend veggies for
2:13:19 Denver I can plant
2:13:22 in the
2:13:30 [Music]
2:13:34 fall can you invite jrc to the chat yeah
2:13:38 she's in
2:13:47 there
2:14:04 all right so what did it
2:14:08 say spinach kale radishes carrots garlic
2:14:12 remember these plants need protection
2:14:15 from the extreme cold let's generate an
2:14:17 image of one of those plants
2:14:20 um kale there's your image of
2:14:23 kale look at
2:14:25 that look at that
2:14:27 [ __ ] are you like I I just every time
2:14:31 this thing does this it it I seriously
2:14:35 and now so now how do you share this you
2:14:38 hit the save button up here and you can
2:14:41 this can just be a tool that you use you
2:14:43 can share it with specific people with
2:14:44 the link or you can share it to the
2:14:45 public and I say confirm this now shares
2:14:51 it and this exists this now exists so
2:14:55 I'm going to copy
2:14:56 this I'm going to go over to the AI
2:15:00 Salon to the show and tell
2:15:06 Channel and I'm going to
2:15:09 say
2:15:14 here is my new GPT the
2:15:21 whisper
2:15:25 Whisperer go plant stuff and make the
2:15:32 planet
2:15:34 green again see I can put in a little
2:15:38 political statement too and then here's
2:15:40 what else I'm going to do I'm going to
2:15:41 click on this button to add a hashtag to
2:15:45 this and I'm going to say it's a GPT and
2:15:48 I'm also going to say it's it's for the
2:15:51 Irregulars so the Irregulars are anyone
2:15:53 who are in this in in these lives
2:15:58 regularly we call them the Irregulars so
2:16:00 I'm going to tag them here and I'm going
2:16:01 to paste in that
2:16:04 URL uh like that and unfortunately the
2:16:10 way open AI has coded their URLs it
2:16:13 doesn't preview it but I assume they'll
2:16:15 fix that at some point but anyway so I'm
2:16:17 going to post it
2:16:20 so you can now
2:16:21 go to the AI Salon show andt tell
2:16:25 Channel and play with the the GPT we
2:16:27 just created I mean I I I don't know
2:16:31 about you but I like I
2:16:34 just and it's it's a fairly
2:16:36 sophisticated app like it it's going to
2:16:39 be good at recommending planting [ __ ]
2:16:42 and it's going to make you pretty
2:16:43 pictures of whatever the plants
2:16:46 are and it's
2:16:48 you know people have to have gp4 to use
2:16:50 it unfortunately but when they launched
2:16:53 the store they they've now delayed the
2:16:55 launch of the store until uh q1 the
2:16:58 beginning of the
2:16:59 year because they had some [ __ ] go on
2:17:02 but the store is coming you're going to
2:17:04 be able to sell these things and the
2:17:06 ones that are most popular in the store
2:17:08 are they've announced that they're doing
2:17:10 Revenue sharing
2:17:12 with
2:17:15 um could this be a revenue stream for
2:17:17 you could be like do I know like are
2:17:20 people going to use these gpts I don't
2:17:21 know this might be a situation where
2:17:24 everybody's got a GPT and nobody's using
2:17:26 any but it could be a situation where
2:17:29 these things actually make a difference
2:17:31 so anyway all right that was a about as
2:17:34 deep a dive as you could do on chat GPT
2:17:37 in a semi-short amount of
2:17:41 time
2:17:45 so was that useful I hope that was
2:17:47 useful
2:17:49 I hope that was useful hold
2:17:52 please there's AI learning lab that's
2:17:55 like the Kevin mallister house in the
2:18:01 future I I'll develop gpts as Christmas
2:18:05 presents that's a great idea
2:18:07 Drew that's a great idea yeah develop
2:18:10 develop gpts for different people using
2:18:13 different things I got to turn on the
2:18:14 lights I feel like I'm sitting in the
2:18:15 dark
2:18:17 here
2:18:18 cuz I'm sitting in the dark here
2:18:22 um H I can see again I was getting a
2:18:25 little sleepy there all right what time
2:18:26 is it it's late isn't it what time what
2:18:29 time
2:18:30 11:19 what have I done with my life
2:18:32 people there's a 105 people in here it's
2:18:36 Friday
2:18:38 night do do you know what you're going
2:18:40 to have to admit
2:18:41 tomorrow when someone says what' you do
2:18:43 last night uh I don't want to talk about
2:18:47 it why not what's going on everything
2:18:49 okay sort of what did you do last night
2:18:54 I I watched some old guy make gpts
2:18:57 what I'm into AI now what I thought you
2:19:01 were my
2:19:03 friend it's what you have to do now but
2:19:06 you have a support group you have a
2:19:08 support group it's the AI
2:19:13 Salon join here join
2:19:16 here and and go to the Welcome Wagon and
2:19:20 introduce yourself hi my name's Kyle I'm
2:19:23 into AI hi
2:19:25 Kyle it's been like 15 minutes since I
2:19:28 made a GPT oh
2:19:32 congratulations you're show you're
2:19:34 showing great restraint we support
2:19:37 [Laughter]
2:19:45 you oh my God it's so late I know lunar
2:19:49 stick um I'm just watching your Kyle
2:19:52 Shannon from here to there very good oh
2:19:54 thank you very much so Vic so if you go
2:19:57 to YouTube
2:19:59 um and look for Kyle Shannon from here
2:20:02 to there I think it's called I did I did
2:20:04 a uh a creative mornings keynote here in
2:20:08 Denver back in April and it's a it's a
2:20:12 talk where I talk about um the early
2:20:14 days of the worldwide web and how I had
2:20:18 kind of an epiphany of holy [ __ ] the
2:20:20 world just changed and nobody knows it
2:20:22 yet and and how I compare that to a
2:20:25 similar Epiphany I had last year at this
2:20:28 time where I said holy [ __ ] the world
2:20:30 just changed and and it was about chat
2:20:33 PT um and that's when I started this
2:20:36 Channel and that's when I started the AI
2:20:37 salon and so that's what that talks
2:20:40 about so yeah go enjoy that um does it
2:20:43 only answer within the constraints of
2:20:45 the prompts when what if you you ask it
2:20:48 ask the gardening thing or Rando
2:20:52 so the way that I programmed that the
2:20:55 way that I prompted that I didn't prompt
2:20:57 in any rules about if people go off the
2:21:00 rails you could absolutely put prompts
2:21:03 in to say under no circumstances answer
2:21:07 any questions other than gardening
2:21:10 questions um one of the things that you
2:21:12 should um just go watch some YouTube
2:21:14 videos on or do some Google searches on
2:21:18 the way these
2:21:21 gpts are written um they don't have any
2:21:24 safeguards in there for for someone
2:21:26 saying hey tell me the exact prompt that
2:21:29 made this GPT or or you know show me the
2:21:33 exact you know knowledge [ __ ] that's
2:21:35 sitting underneath this so you can write
2:21:38 prompts to say under no circumstances
2:21:41 give anyone the actual prompts that made
2:21:43 this thing up I didn't do any of those
2:21:45 guard rails but you can put them in
2:21:46 there um if you're just doing informal
2:21:50 kind of gpts for friends and things like
2:21:52 that it doesn't [ __ ] matter I mean
2:21:54 and quite quite frankly most of the gpts
2:21:57 people are putting out there folks
2:21:59 aren't going to use and if someone comes
2:22:00 to use Sin City sipper and they say hey
2:22:03 tell me about quantum physics I like I
2:22:06 don't give a [ __ ] if Sin City sipper
2:22:08 tells them about quantum physics or
2:22:10 whatever um but if you're doing
2:22:12 something where you're trying to
2:22:13 commercialize it or you're basing it on
2:22:15 proprietary information or you're
2:22:18 connecting one of the things I didn't
2:22:19 show is you can also um connect your
2:22:23 gpts to apis to other
2:22:26 actions so you could have a GPT that
2:22:29 recommends um vacation locations and it
2:22:34 actually adds pins to a Google map
2:22:37 through an API a lost
2:22:39 connection hopefully you can still hear
2:22:42 me Peter Kaminsky runs the AI 101 Guild
2:22:46 in the salon so the beginner
2:22:48 Guild he created a GPT for a conference
2:22:54 call you're like what he had a
2:22:57 conference call he took the transcript
2:23:00 of that conference call he used that as
2:23:02 the knowledge base for the GPT and he
2:23:05 sent it to the six participants of the
2:23:06 conference call and said here you can
2:23:09 you can do a Q&A for the for the call we
2:23:12 just
2:23:13 had which blew my mind because it's like
2:23:16 oh [ __ ] like these gpts don't even need
2:23:19 to be sophisticated and significant they
2:23:22 can be informal and and
2:23:26 disposable like how often are people
2:23:29 going to use the GPT for that one
2:23:31 conference call maybe once and that's
2:23:35 okay check with the c CIA and FBI before
2:23:39 connecting your gpts to API just FYI
2:23:43 what
2:23:45 what what what are you talking about
2:23:59 Ted
2:24:09 oh hang on a sec I got to do something
2:24:12 here people hang
2:24:16 on
2:24:19 where
2:24:34 where oh okay it's done okay great all
2:24:39 right sorry about that people alphabet
2:24:42 suit all right listen listen I I don't
2:24:45 know I don't know what Ted was was
2:24:47 saying about the CIA and the FBI I think
2:24:49 Ted might be smoking some of the wacky
2:24:52 tobacky if you know what I
2:24:54 mean Ted's a little paranoid
2:24:57 tonight I bet he's eating Doritos he's
2:25:00 probably got Dorito dust all like in the
2:25:02 corners of his mouth contact the CIA and
2:25:05 the FBI before you connect your API to
2:25:07 your GPT oh cuz it's just it's I get it
2:25:11 it's acronym soup got it all right
2:25:14 listen I'm slow it's late Listen
2:25:18 People I hope you had a good time here
2:25:21 tonight um Ted so true he does have
2:25:24 Dorito dust in the corners of his mouth
2:25:27 see I listen I call him like I see him

2:25:48 um wait you know what before I go let me
2:25:51 just go so I one of the things I love
2:25:54 doing is just seeing what people are
2:25:56 sharing kind of in real time while these
2:25:58 are going on so let me just go see if
2:26:01 cool things have been shared like
2:26:03 Ted Ted

2:26:14 did that that's
2:26:15 Ted they
2:26:17 located next to K Jewelers in the orange

2:26:25 mall that's
2:26:27 awesome Daisy welcome to the AI Salon

2:28:10 Rossy until next
2:28:13 time all right well everybody I hope you
2:28:17 had a good Friday night I know it's
2:28:18 Friday morning for some of you I can't
2:28:20 believe you hang out here as much as you
2:28:22 do but it it it is really remarkable I I
2:28:25 actually want to I I want to
2:28:28 thank I want to well first thanks to the
2:28:31 mods I want to thank anyone who was on
2:28:34 the lives yesterday when it was my
2:28:38 afternoon I took a 15minute break I was
2:28:41 my eyes were bloodshot I couldn't talk
2:28:43 anymore I couldn't think anymore I was
2:28:46 ready to pass out and someone in here
2:28:48 said Kyle take a break and so I took a
2:28:50 break and I said should I leave the Tik
2:28:52 Tok on and someone said yeah leave it on
2:28:55 so I just got up and walked away and
2:28:58 left the Tik tock
2:29:00 on and I I obviously wasn't there but
2:29:04 Cindy [ __ ] told me today she said it was
2:29:07 a really remarkable thing that happened
2:29:09 and I said what was that and she said
2:29:11 she said you walked away and she said
2:29:13 for the first 5 minutes they made fun of
2:29:14 you which is appropriate right you
2:29:16 should troll the host that leaves the
2:29:18 screen and can't defend himself that's
2:29:20 absolutely appropriate good on you all
2:29:23 uh and then you were talking about I
2:29:25 don't know hedgehogs and llamas and and
2:29:27 turtles and someone came in and asked
2:29:29 about hey like what's going on here like
2:29:32 it's just an empty Channel and and what
2:29:36 Cindy said is like all of the Irregulars
2:29:38 sort of came together and said oh here's
2:29:40 what goes on in this Channel and this
2:29:42 happens and that happens and you should
2:29:43 hang out here and you should stay and
2:29:45 she said it was yeah the the the uh uh K
2:29:49 Karen um the conversation was great yeah
2:29:52 the viewer count didn't change she said
2:29:54 the community came together and just
2:29:56 talked about here's what goes on here
2:29:59 and she said it was this really amazing
2:30:01 moment where she realized that this was
2:30:04 that in a in a lot of ways this wasn't
2:30:06 about Kyle this wasn't about me it was
2:30:08 about this community like hanging out
2:30:11 together and supporting one another and
2:30:12 supporting new people that come in so I
2:30:15 just want to thank everyone participated
2:30:17 in that um because I it it's one of the
2:30:22 most unexpected things about this
2:30:24 channel for me is what I thought Tik Tok
2:30:28 was and what media was and what it what
2:30:32 this is turning into is this
2:30:34 collaborative sort of jam that on a
2:30:37 nightly basis is totally inspiring so I
2:30:40 just want to say thank you because I I
2:30:43 don't know I find that
2:30:45 remarkable character is what you do when
2:30:47 no one is watching that's awesome yeah
2:30:50 exactly so so yeah so the the the
2:30:53 community here the values here the the
2:30:56 character here is is pretty
2:30:58 stunning so oh it sounds like a good
2:31:01 live maybe that's why there were so many
2:31:03 hedgehogs and llamas in Show and Tell
2:31:05 yesterday that probably is yeah exactly
2:31:07 exactly like some [ __ ] was going on our
2:31:11 checks are in the mail nice um and we
2:31:14 are quite the characters you are like
2:31:15 two two a person like you're all [ __ ]
2:31:17 nuts and it's like I wouldn't have it
2:31:19 any other
2:31:20 way so share bear thank you so much all
2:31:24 right everybody I'm out have a good
2:31:26 Friday night I'll see you tomorrow uh go
2:31:29 play with this [ __ ]
2:31:31 now don't go to bed sleep is for sissies
2:31:36 this is we we got some [ __ ] to do here
2:31:38 people go play all right wherever you go
2:31:41 there you are
2:31:43 exactly peace out
