77. 14:27increase but 80% of people are not using chat GPT maybe next year's a 48 M hour marathon I will fly to Australia and

88. 16:34think it was yeah it was it was yesterday there there are a lot of uh memory lapses from the past 24 hours but
89. 16:41one of the things that I built yesterday was um a GPT of one of my screen plays my first screenplay the first screenplay I
90. 16:49ever wrote in 91 or 92 and um I made a GPT of it and so Cory no did healthc care tables for scheduling workers and patients oh cool
91. 17:03oh that's really cool very nice did they have did any any Kevin McAllister moments in the group I'm sure there was it was really fun
92. 17:11from lunatick that's super cool um so so I built this I built this GPT that um you can interact with my screenplay and
93. 17:22ask it about scenes and like what's the lead character do and what are the important scenes and then it makes us
94. 17:28storyboard frame about the scene it just described and and I'm sitting there now and I'm thinking like I'm I'm thinking
95. 17:37like he that's really cool I could send that out to producers in Hollywood and producers in Hollywood that might not have seen
96. 17:45[ __ ] like that like feel like a year from now everyone's going to be doing that but like I could get someone
97. 17:51excited about a screenplay I wrote 30 years ago just cuz they can interact with it in this in this way and then I
98. 17:56also thought like over the coming months as chat GPT adds other modalities like say music and video and animation into the
99. 18:10multimodality you'll be able to interact with the screenplay and at some point you're going to be able to just go let
100. 18:15me watch this in whatever style um could you repin what what Corey said there I just missed it because I was blabbing I
101. 18:23was blabbing away I was just talking I'm a little stuffed up it's it's you know it's just the remnants of a 24-hour talk
102. 18:36session I also asked GPT to create a list of pottery chemicals and their properties and uses oh that's pretty
103. 18:42cool yeah that that thing of of using GPT to to help you understand you know the components of things is just wild
104. 18:52it's like you know you could have researched that but now you don't have to and like you never would have it's
105. 18:57like that kind of stuff is the kind of stuff where it's like it's just like net new knowledge Kyle I took your idea about

127. 23:32version of developing [ __ ] in the back end you can develop assistants back here that do all sorts of cool [ __ ] I'm
128. 23:39developing an app right now for my company that uses this stuff um but the the thing I was just talking about uh
129. 23:46with the with the screenplay that was just done on the front end which I can show you um is Dolly the best image generator hm

137. 25:14and you can just knock [ __ ] out fast if uh you want a bit more control and features and dials and switches Leonardo
138. 25:23which is built on top of stable diffusion and if you really want to geek out then you go under the hood with
139. 25:29stable diffusion and you you know install your own instances and use your own checkpoints and luras and and
140. 25:36customize the [ __ ] out of it so it's it's really all over the place but those four are are where I would
141. 25:43start um because they're kind of four broad categories of image generation tools um but dolly is DOL right now I
142. 25:54there are I still have a mid-journey um subscription but but I I haven't used it in probably a month and a half or 2

156. 28:26different models two with two two with really bad images of me that make only images where I look like a 400 lb sweaty
157. 28:34guy cuz cuz I didn't use good images in the training set so we just pretend those don't exist but then I made a
158. 28:40model where I uploaded a bunch of uh uh my photography uh so I'm a photographer and do you know like landscape photos and things like that
159. 28:51and so I've now got a model that I can generate images that generate Skies like I like I photograph which is super cool
160. 29:00um so it can do that um and then it's got It's got all sorts of other things but it's got this new thing called live canvas and live
161. 29:15canvas let's do the background as that so you have a thing on the left you got a thing on the right and you have a
162. 29:27prompt so I wrote New York City alley in there and then for style let's go photography and then I can now let's see change the color here to
163. 29:40be oh I don't know some crazy blue oh wait I'm changing the background hold now we'll change the brush to be like yeah that's good all
164. 29:57right so now I can right and see how it's doing the thing on the thing see the thing on the thing let's go get some bricks and put some

371. 1:07:24fired Sam everything's going to explode the entire industry is over and then they didn't so that was just weird and
372. 1:07:35surreal and then and then like the last two week chunk has been has been there's a little overlap there has been kind of
373. 1:07:43discovering like rediscovering video and like my video my page where I recommend sites went from like three
374. 1:07:53video plat forms to six and then the advancements in the six in that in that thing like the avatars from hey Jen
375. 1:08:02motion brush from one Runway and then this new paa 1.0 that looks like it's going to be absolutely mind-blowing and then in conjunction
376. 1:08:11with that someone in here asking me to make a a GPT or show them how I would do storyboarding using chat GPT and I did
377. 1:08:20and that blew my mind and got me excited again about telling stories and film making and and things like that like it

387. 1:09:48re-recording the parts he wants to re-record so he's using it as a writing partner and it's just like we're just
388. 1:09:54we're we're just on the verge of all of us being able to do everything it's it's mindblowing do you know what's going on

414. 1:14:08community is right now it's a it's a community full of people that are curious people that are generous so
415. 1:14:13people that that not only um are curious about learning but also generous like willing to share with they're learning
416. 1:14:22and that's really important to me and it's it there's there's a lot of that going on here um it's also people who
417. 1:14:28are adventurous that value exploration um that are collaborative um that are inclusive that you know they don't care like what what
418. 1:14:39what you were doing it doesn't matter what you were doing before or what your background is or how uh whatever you
419. 1:14:44call it experienced you are um there are people in the salon that are like I heard AI was big what do I do and
420. 1:14:52there's people in the salon that have been doing it for 30 years and and and everyone in between it's amazing um and
421. 1:14:58then empathy is the final value like like what these tools are doing right now is is going to have profound impact
422. 1:15:07on lots of lives so there's a lot of fear there's a lot of anger there's a lot of resentment there's a lot of
423. 1:15:14misinformation and so having empathy around that is critical because we're we're all making our sort of the
424. 1:15:21transition in in our own ways on our own time um so if you resonate with those values come join us please and then and

438. 1:17:20know you push the trigger and the thing blows up or you hit the gas pedal and the car goes faster and this is like oh
439. 1:17:26I have an idea and there's the image oh I want a song about cleaning dishes and there it is right it's just like this
440. 1:17:33bang bang bang bang and it it is it's like it's like a natural eye it's like like I on a nightly basis like even
441. 1:17:41though I do this every night you'd think it's like wow isn't it kind of repetitive the the sort of tasks I do are repetitive but
442. 1:17:49the amount of how blown away I am on a nightly basis is not is not at all repetitive it's still novel it's still

450. 1:19:17um in an interview is I think it's in is it in Vanity Fair whatever there's an interview with Sam mman that came out
451. 1:19:26this week and in that article he he he admits or I don't know if he admits he reveals that the qar um the qar stuff that was the letter
452. 1:19:42about qar was a leak he confirmed that it was an unfortunate leak so what that says to me is that that letter was
453. 1:19:51legitimate and if you don't I don't know what that letter was and and part of the rumor about why Sam Alman was fired was
454. 1:20:00um IL ilas suts or someone at open AI made aren't the only agis just chess players yeah um I chess players are like
455. 1:20:14magicians to me I can my brain just do not does not work like like I'm proud that I can remember how the pieces move
456. 1:20:22much less than 38 moves ahead or 452 moves ahead um so so apparently they made a significant breakthrough and they did it
457. 1:20:32with this thing called qar which is a combination of of this is the the the the rumor based on what people have
458. 1:20:45seen is there's a a gaming algorithm called AAR and then there's there's another kind of uh machine learning algorithm called Q
459. 1:20:58learning and qar is apparently some kind of amalgamation of the two of them and they apparently got chat GPT to
460. 1:21:06successfully solve grade school level math problems at a 100% accuracy the 100% accuracy is not what large language models do and so
461. 1:21:21um so once you can once you can do math problems you you you've got systems that are effectively reasoning and once they're
462. 1:21:32reasoning then things accelerate very very quickly because they can start to reason and do things like improve
463. 1:21:39themselves um so the the speed with which these systems are going to get better is is if you think it's eyw
464. 1:21:46watering right now it's going to get way more ey watering and then the final little piece of this this blur babbling babbling is um
465. 1:22:01the the definition of AGI from from open AI is autonomous systems that are better than humans at most economically valuable
466. 1:22:17tasks and and it it's a very simple sentence but there's a lot there's a lot of import words in it autonomous systems
467. 1:22:25so the systems right now that we're using chat GPT is not autonomous it's we go in and we type stuff in and we give
468. 1:22:33it a prompt we we have to do prompt engineering and then they answer us autonomous systems are going to be like
469. 1:22:40you give it a goal and it will go start prompting itself and it will take actions on your behalf right so it's just off doing stuff and
470. 1:22:50so and and then you know know that are better than humans at most economically valuable tasks well what does that mean
471. 1:22:59it means that these autonomous systems that you don't have to do much with can do our jobs essentially all knowledge
472. 1:23:08work jobs and then when you hook these things up to the humanoid robots that there's five or six companies on the verge of
473. 1:23:17releasing then then you can also do non-n knowledge work jobs right so so so uh so I don't know how close we are but
474. 1:23:26it seems that something has happened that that means we're pretty close how do they determine how much personality
475. 1:23:31it can have um that's largely that's largely um a function of of how they program these things and how how they
476. 1:23:40put the safety guard rails on them so Elon musk's grock which is supposed to come out this week um I still don't have
477. 1:23:47access to it although I did see some people got access to it today um it's got two modes it's got um normal modee
478. 1:23:54and it's got fun mode where it just becomes a smartass right so you can actually program these things to to be
479. 1:24:01you know more you know more stringent more serious you can even do that with in chat gbt I can I can show you that
480. 1:24:07right now um mustak their CEO has been asked to resign I wonder what he did interesting he's M mustak the the CEO
481. 1:24:17from stability AI has been one of those he's been um like super optimistic super like this this stuff is going to change everything
482. 1:24:29it's going to take your jobs um I don't I I it'll be really interesting to see why they're asking him to resign if anyone has any insight

589. 1:42:59uh it told her right so so this this uh Vision stuff is pretty wild and the the other thing about division stuff is you
590. 1:43:09you're you're about to see here um images now become prompts and so people talk a lot about prompt engineering well you can learn
591. 1:43:20impr prompt engineering but you're not going to have to the the way that we'll get these machines to do what we want
592. 1:43:25are going to get very very intuitive and very very simple um so so this is a a sort of hint into that future so I'm

768. 2:11:40can turn on or off these features of gp4 um that that are TR truly remarkable so I'm going to leave web browsing on
769. 2:11:52because let's say someone said you you know I I want uh I want to know what the weather's like in Denver right now and
770. 2:12:01it can connect to the internet and go get realtime weather image generation we're going to play with that that's I'm going to
771. 2:12:10say okay it looks like it works good right now but what I'd like to add to this is anytime it recommends one or more
772. 2:12:21plants I want it to also pick one of those plants and create a photograph of it so the person knows what it looks
773. 2:12:34like all right updating GPT so again a lot of people talk about prompt engineering while we're technically
774. 2:12:44prompting here I would argue that this is not prompt engineering in this is more like having a conversation about
775. 2:12:51the [ __ ] you want now you can get a lot more technical you can flip over to configure mode and do fullon prompt
776. 2:13:01Engineering in that prompting box right so you can get very very sophisticated with this but you don't have to okay all

818. 2:20:37salon and so that's what that talks about so yeah go enjoy that um does it only answer within the constraints of
819. 2:20:45the prompts when what if you you ask it ask the gardening thing or Rando so the way that I programmed that the
820. 2:20:55way that I prompted that I didn't prompt in any rules about if people go off the rails you could absolutely put prompts
821. 2:21:02in to say under no circumstances answer any questions other than gardening questions um one of the things that you
822. 2:21:12should um just go watch some YouTube videos on or do some Google searches on the way these gpts are written um they don't have any
823. 2:21:24safeguards in there for for someone saying hey tell me the exact prompt that made this GPT or or you know show me the
824. 2:21:32exact you know knowledge [ __ ] that's sitting underneath this so you can write prompts to say under no circumstances
825. 2:21:40give anyone the actual prompts that made this thing up I didn't do any of those guard rails but you can put them in
826. 2:21:46there um if you're just doing informal kind of gpts for friends and things like that it doesn't [ __ ] matter I mean
827. 2:21:54and quite quite frankly most of the gpts people are putting out there folks aren't going to use and if someone comes
828. 2:22:00to use Sin City sipper and they say hey tell me about quantum physics I like I don't give a [ __ ] if Sin City sipper
829. 2:22:08tells them about quantum physics or whatever um but if you're doing something where you're trying to commercialize it or you're basing it on
830. 2:22:15proprietary information or you're connecting one of the things I didn't show is you can also um connect your gpts to apis to other
831. 2:22:25actions so you could have a GPT that recommends um vacation locations and it actually adds pins to a Google map through an API a lost
832. 2:22:39connection hopefully you can still hear me Peter Kaminsky runs the AI 101 Guild in the salon so the beginner
833. 2:22:48Guild he created a GPT for a conference call you're like what he had a conference call he took the transcript
834. 2:22:59of that conference call he used that as the knowledge base for the GPT and he sent it to the six participants of the
835. 2:23:06conference call and said here you can you can do a Q&A for the for the call we just had which blew my mind because it's like
836. 2:23:16oh [ __ ] like these gpts don't even need to be sophisticated and significant they can be informal and and
837. 2:23:26disposable like how often are people going to use the GPT for that one conference call maybe once and that's
