56. 11:42because if you think about what chat GPT is what these large language models are is they've been trained on as many of
57. 11:50the human words as we could jam into this thing I wrote a response article to his latest today oh that's cool lunatick
58. 11:57yeah Ethan mik's amazing he and he's just really prolific he puts out really well- written pieces regularly like two
59. 12:03two times a week and then he tweets and you know does minor [ __ ] in between um so I think having a psychology degree
60. 12:13is an advantage for one thing the should I major in AI is a really really interesting one and here's why if you're a geek if you want to get
61. 12:27into the computer science side of AI That's what you can plausibly major in today if you want to deal with chat GPT
62. 12:42like systems if you want to deal with the systems that human beings are interacting with not that Engineers are
63. 12:47not human beings but let's call the people that build the systems and then there's the people that use the systems if you want to apply your
64. 12:55psychology degree psychology degree to using the system to the people using the system there is not a degree you could get
65. 13:06today generative AI the the birth of generative AI even though the the roots of it come before its birth day in my
66. 13:15opinion is November 30th 2022 so last November chat GPT launches that marks a split in the AI World okay before November 30 you had to be a
67. 13:29mathematician a scientist an engineer if you're going to go to school for AI that's what you're going to
68. 13:35learn I'm assuming because you got a degree in Psychology that might not be your jam but I could be wrong if you want to be an
69. 13:43engineer who happens to be good with the the people stuff that could be really interesting but that's that's that after November 30th chat
70. 13:56GPT barred uh um Claude Pi if you got a degree in Psychology you should absolutely get Pi the PI app Pi go to the app store right now
71. 14:09download the PI app yeah I'd not I'm not sure I'd spend money on classes right now things are moving too quickly
72. 14:15exactly like well but not only that there there are no classes on generative AI right now if there if there are they're out of
73. 14:22date seriously like if you took a workshop two months ago it's out of date everything's different today than it was two months
74. 14:32ago prior to November 6th so I I wouldn't recommend going back to school for AI unless you want to be on the building side of it neighbor is
75. 14:48getting his Masters in AI I wasn't impressed with his knowledge because he's learning about things like you know
76. 14:54embeddings and weights and tensor flow and tpus and gpus and mathematical weightings and probabilities and like
77. 15:02all the [ __ ] that makes the [ __ ] we use in chat GPT work generative AI is the is the icing on top of all that mathematical
78. 15:16cake it's pretty [ __ ] powerful icing I got to tell you that but it's a really interesting question um I wouldn't go back to school
79. 15:28for it no again unless you want to be building [ __ ] I got my degree from the AI learning lab I I got to I'm going to
80. 15:36start giving out certificates that have a gold button on them you can make money with certificate Ted looks at life attended

92. 17:51doesn't hallucinate that's one thing I feel like crap to today helped me work through it totally different thing it's not good better and

126. 24:21I've been caught what do I what do I do to tell what I did I think you oh is right so here's here's here's a strategy you could
127. 24:38do you could say and I'll sign your note you can take a note from the AI learning lab you can say Kyle at the AI learning lab
128. 24:47said um this [ __ ] isn't going away AI is going to be ubiquitous it's it's already in Microsoft Word it's it's
129. 24:57already in Google it's already in note taking apps like notion there are to my knowledge not counting open source 12 or 15
130. 25:13major large language models that you can play with all that do slightly different things so so part of what you could set
131. 25:21up is this is not going away so therefore me having the skill of understanding how these things work what
132. 25:32they're good at what they're not good at is valuable to me now let me walk you through what I actually did so instead
133. 25:40of just turning it in and say yeah this was Ai and take a defensive position either bring your bring your
134. 25:51like your work like I don't know how you worked on it but I know that when when I work with chat GPT I'll like have it
135. 25:58generate something like an outline and then I'll have it flesh a little bit of that out and then I'll dump that into
136. 26:04like a Word document or a notes document and then I'll write a little bit and then I'll go back and have it fill in
137. 26:10something else and then I'll go back and so it's this back and forth thing so I would say anything you can do to
138. 26:18demonstrate how you used it and that you used your brain and your critical thinking probably more than you would
139. 26:28have if if you had just written it and what you could potentially argue is you could say listen if I did this this the
140. 26:36traditional way I would have spent four hours doing research and laboriously taking notes and D with chat GPT I condensed all of that
141. 26:49work into about 20 minutes and I spent the rest of the three and 1 half hours really thinking hard about how to
142. 26:57construct this in the best way like what I would say is I mean I I assume if you're on this channel asking the
143. 27:03question like how do you have the conversation I assume you didn't just say write me a paper and then you
144. 27:08printed that out right so assuming you didn't do that and if you did that then that's just stupid but if you didn't do that if you
145. 27:18actually used your brain and your critical thinking I would use it as an opportunity to say let me show you what
146. 27:26I did let me show you my thinking process behind it let me tell you why I used it let me tell you why I think that's important and
147. 27:37then if he's still he or she is still resistant then then you have a different conversation but my instinct is if that
148. 27:48teacher is willing to actually listen to you instinct is if that teacher is willing to actually listen to you
149. 28:00you out to your teacher in chat GPT with bullets well what I'm thinking is I like I'm curious if your teacher has even used chat
150. 28:12GPT like it's possible that what your teacher's doing is I've got a plagiarism I've got an AI detector and that's the
151. 28:20equivalent of a plagiarism detector which it's not using chat GPT is not [ __ ] plagiarism understand how the technology works so
152. 28:31my my suspicion is that this teacher hasn't actually used it so I would take in a laptop or an iPad I would talk about why you think
153. 28:40it's important for you to have this skill and you really want their support and what you'd really like to do
154. 28:49right now is show them how you did what you did and let them experience it and and then show them your thought process
155. 28:59between the GPT and the U and the GPT and the U and the GPT and the U have a conference with your teacher and use pi. a as a mediator that's
156. 29:12actually a really interesting idea cuno yeah if you don't know Pi pi. a or or the PI app PI app um yeah put put Pi in conversation
157. 29:25mode and say yeah that's actually really good and then and then the teacher can say their peace you can say your peace and P can
158. 29:36mediate there's a lot of ways to do it but I but I this could potentially be an eye openening moment for the teacher and
159. 29:43listen what what may end up happening depending on how your school district is is the teacher may you know see the light and go oh
160. 29:52that's really interesting I I didn't know it worked like that I love how you're thinking I'd love love to support
161. 29:58you but my hands are tied you know the district won't allow us to do this then in that case it's out of the teacher's
162. 30:05hands but at least you've made your peace and you know you you can get through this one and ideally what happens is you
163. 30:13educate the teacher you become the mentor for the teacher and you say there's real value here rather than using PL or AI
164. 30:23detectors thinking they're plagiarism detectors rather than doing that why don't we bring AI into the classroom and you can give us multiple
165. 30:34assignments one is write it the oldfashioned way the second one is write it with chat GPT and then let's compare
166. 30:42the results and let's talk about what did this one do good what did that one do good what did right create an image of you writing I

214. 40:45you at the end of your sentence if you hit the tab key that's AI so should the student not be able to use a tool that does that
215. 40:57should they not be able to use grammarly to check their grammar because that actually switches words around they
216. 41:02didn't write that like at what percentage of words is is it not acceptable this is the problem right this is this weird [ __ ] slippery ass

334. 59:58that then they use that paper as knowledge for a GPT and yeah then they build a GPT and then they they trade
335. 1:00:08gpts and then each student has to give like a book repor or like a report on what they learn from the other kids GPT you pair them
336. 1:00:20up they each go play with the GPT the other one made and then each student has to say what the other one's GPT was

352. 1:02:34them they're called gpts and what they are is customized personalized versions of chat GPT 4 so I'll go show you the

354. 1:02:52the Sin City sipper so what is this thing it's a Vegas bartender with a Twist on the classics so what this thing
355. 1:02:58does is you ask it to make you a classic drink and it'll put a Vegas Twist on it right so it's customized classic
356. 1:03:05cocktail like it's a bartending tool and so I can say Okay reinvent the margarita for me and so I just that's one of the
357. 1:03:13pre-written questions and so it says Ah the margarita a classic that's as bold and Lively as the Vegas Strip itself so
358. 1:03:20it's going to create for us the Vegas golden margarita recipe 2 ounces of tequila lime juice agave syrup Grand
359. 1:03:27maret nice edible gold flakes salt for the rim all right nice basic recipe gives us the recipe and then watch what

376. 1:05:51GPT and then you have the configure mode where it's all of the sort of components like the picture for the icon and the
377. 1:05:58name and the description and the prompt and pre-written questions and the knowledge base now the knowledge base is
378. 1:06:07I could create a GPT of a screenplay I wrote for example um and I upload that file there and then people could
379. 1:06:13interact with my screenplay or my sales process or anything okay then capabilities here so these are all capabilities of chat gp4 it can
380. 1:06:25browse the web it can make images it's got this thing called code interpreter which is really remarkable so you can
381. 1:06:30turn all these on or off depending on your GPT but I'm just going to ignore that for now and then you can also
382. 1:06:36create actions which is a level more sophisticated than I want to deal with but it means you can hook it to other
