4. 0:49from the world you had one of those that happens what are you gonna do um welcome everybody this is the AI
5. 0:57learning lab we'll wait for some folks to get in here and uh we'll get this party started look at this pot I started yeah yeah yeah
6. 1:08hello Nicholas what's happening how you doing everyone if you're new here we talk about all stuff generative Ai and uh
7. 1:20I answer as many questions as I can so if you have any questions about AI pop them in the comments below I'll talk
8. 1:26about these here URLs beside my head in a moment and uh yeah talk about that I'm trying to think if there's anything big going on
9. 1:40nothing nothing too dramatic nothing too dramatic although I did spend I spent enough time on Claude trying to
10. 1:49get a prompt working that I got rate Limited they were like you can't use it anymore for three more hours
11. 2:00I just could not get this prompt to do what I wanted it to do I tried out Claude over the weekend it was great

13. 2:12looks like the hairs got a mind of its own tonight as it's want to do on these things about this time of night
14. 2:20I I knew I shouldn't have worn three two pays at the same time damn it uh uh good evening good evening good

16. 2:42got a few few more folks piling on in I was so frustrated it's been hours trying to convert photo to Cartoon

18. 2:59like getting the prompts you can get the prompts quickly to like 90 of what you want but then if you wanna consistent and replicable
19. 3:09it takes for [ __ ] ever because they just decide to just change how they do [ __ ] or or I don't know just the way
20. 3:16they work they're they're uh they're uh they're a little frustrating on on that way uh Positive Vibes what
21. 3:24are we learning here today anything you want to learn um I'm talking about generative AI that that's that's what I know but I'm also
22. 3:32an entrepreneur of many many years I've started I don't know 12 or 15 companies I was an entrepreneur in the early days
23. 3:38of the World Wide Web so I was kind of there at the birth of that thing and uh started one of the first digital
24. 3:45agencies one of the first online magazines and and you know kind of rode that wave up to the.com Bubble through
25. 3:51the.com bubble down the other side and so when I you know started playing around with generative AI about a year and a half ago I thought
26. 4:01oh this is another one of those and when chat GPT came out it was like all right everything games game over games changed
27. 4:07everything's changing this is definitely like the early days of the web but way more profound so that's kind of stuff I
28. 4:14like to talk about I can talk about starting businesses I can talk about marketing um I can talk a little bit about how
29. 4:21this [ __ ] works but I'm not a technologist I'm not a mathematician or an engineer or researcher I'm more of a
30. 4:27product guy and a and a Founder so that's what we can talk about if you've got questions just pop them in the
31. 4:33comments I slept during the rise of the.com but I'm not missing this but yeah Heather yeah I know it's it it was
32. 4:40one of those things the the.com stuff you had you had a year or two where you could you know they have probably more
33. 4:47than that probably more like three three years where you could you could kind of jump in on that thing and then it kind
34. 4:52of took off and got ridiculous this stuff we we probably have like the end of this year first half of next year to to you
35. 5:01know get an early foothold and it's just gonna it's gonna take off so um so we're still in those early days so
36. 5:08lots and lots of stuff to talk about um let me show you what I got got here okay if you're new to this AI stuff if
37. 5:18you if you're just scrolling through Tick Tock and thought is that Tom Arnold or fat Alec Baldwin um I'm neither but I've been accused of
38. 5:27both um these URLs here are all different flavors of chat GPT so the official PT websites right here chat.openai.com so
39. 5:37if you haven't played with it yet strongly struggling strongly encourage you to go there right now and just start
40. 5:43playing while you listen to me ramble all these other things are just different things to explore so if you
41. 5:48have played with this one and you want to see you know how some of these other things do it um Bing is connected to the internet
42. 5:55that's from Microsoft Claude can take really massive prompts like you could paste an entire novel into claude's
43. 6:03prompt window and then just start asking questions about it Bard is from Google it's connected to the internet
44. 6:11labs.perplexity that's metas llama 2 models that just came out and perplexity is kind enough to host them for
45. 6:18everybody so you don't have to install anything you can just go play with them there and then Pi super conversational and Poe
46. 6:25is you can play with lots of different models and uh and you can make Bots there so all of these things are worth
47. 6:32playing with feel free to take a screenshot and go go grab that stuff the other thing that I put out here is um
48. 6:42on the bottom those are those are a couple of the different image generation tools mid journey in my opinion is the
49. 6:48best Adobe Firefly is more commercially safe and Leonardo's sitting on top of stable diffusion so Leonardo's just a
50. 6:55really nice web front end a stable diffusion but that basically represents stable diffusion and then these things
51. 7:01here prompts.chat will teach you how to prompt the large language models and the prompt book here at openart will teach
52. 7:08you how to prompt those image things and then future pedia is just a site with lots of lots and lots of stuff so with that
53. 7:17questions down below I will start answering them I do my best to answer all the questions uh I like to have fun I make voices I

64. 9:15paid for advertising all this [ __ ] this is all so the reason I have this here these are the things that I think if
65. 9:22you're just getting started with this are worth at least understanding are out there and that they they kind of all do some
66. 9:30different things but if you're just going to play with one play with the top one the official chat GPT website all right

69. 9:54maybe I'm in some sort of ghost band thing because I was I was a bad boy and I got I've gotten booted three times but whatever I don't know
70. 10:04but welcome welcome welcome um what am I experimenting with I am well I've got a major Pharma company
71. 10:15um who we do a lot of work with has has said that they want to do three Pilots with us in um three different areas two of which
72. 10:27I don't know how we would pull it off but I'm gonna say yes to it because I think we can pull it off um but we got some stuff to figure out
73. 10:35so so I'm kind of looking at um what's what's the what are the infrastructure up options right is do we
74. 10:43do Microsoft Azure do we do AWS Bedrock I think it's called Bedrock is there is there machine learning platform
75. 10:52um so I'm looking at infrastructure and then I'm looking at prompting um I spent about three hours today trying to dial in a prompt um
76. 11:03that I just couldn't get it to I just couldn't get it to behave it I would get it right and then I would try a new one and it would just be
77. 11:12completely wrong and then I would get that one close and it was just you know if you've played with these things at
78. 11:18all and tried to get them to return consistent results that that is sometimes the challenge um ah thank you very much for the Roses

80. 11:39Geniuses have messy hair well then I must be [ __ ] brilliant [Laughter] I don't know I actually did run a brush
81. 11:53through it earlier and it just decided to do that what are you gonna do um what about privacy info we put in
82. 12:04well Mez Merlin so a couple of things you should if you're if you're dealing with chat GPT let me show you something
83. 12:18okay so if you're a chat GPT go to your settings and there's a thing called Data controls and if you go to data controls you can
84. 12:31um turn off your chat history and training so you're basically saying to open AI don't train on this data and
85. 12:39turning off your chat history that's when there there was I think it was Samsung some folks from Samsung you know left
86. 12:48things in their chat history and they got hacked because of that um so so this is kind of a safety feature here so so you can turn that off
87. 12:56if you turn that off you lose your chat history so there's also an export data feature here so export the data before
88. 13:03you turn off your chat history um but what I would also say is if it's particularly sensitive information that can help um but
89. 13:19if it's very sensitive stuff you know don't do it here maybe do it on the open AI playground so if you go to platform
90. 13:33platform.openai.com playground um this is this your sort of uh using chat CPT directly from the uh the base model so this is kind of the
91. 13:44the API access this this is probably a tad more secure um I think it's the same basic terms of service though but but
92. 13:54um this might be good and then the the real safe thing to do if you if you're really concerned about Safety and
93. 14:00Security is spin up your own server with a large language model like llama2 that just came out from meta that uh
94. 14:09put that stuff in open source with a commercial license um so so spin up your own kind of server um and then and then that way you're not
95. 14:19sending anything anywhere you're you're doing everything locally and if you want to train um these large language models on your
96. 14:26own data anyway then you'd probably be doing something like Lang chain where you're going to want to spin up your own instance of a server
97. 14:33anyway so I tell you that every time I join I know it's very very sweet thank you

99. 15:06is Apple ready to move back up well Paul um they're apparently working on Apple GPT I think they've created a new
100. 15:18I don't know if it's a coding language scripting language a new framework called Ajax for machine learning and and
101. 15:26AI stuff and and apparently they built a thing called Apple GPT with it I think Apple's going to be a major player um
102. 15:34I doubt that Apple stuff is going to look like chat GPT I have a feeling it's going to be more like an autonomous
103. 15:40agent that you just ask it [ __ ] like imagine if Siri didn't suck that might be what we see from from Apple and
104. 15:49hopefully they Rebrand it because because I think it's time to put her to bed I think she needs a nap it's it's
105. 15:56been what 15 years or something like that something like 14 years of her trying to figure it out uh can you make wait can you take terms
106. 16:10and conditions and have chat GPT summarize them so you know you're agreeing to I've done that yeah yes you
107. 16:16can and if if the if the TNC are too long for Chachi BT go to go to uh Claude you can do it there um it's brilliant you just say based on
108. 16:27these terms and conditions tell me what I'm agreeing to and and you know put put the put the most important things I'm agreeing to in
109. 16:35a short bulleted list and it will it will pull the most important stuff out it's really good for that stuff these these tools um
110. 16:45they can be hit or miss when you're generating original stuff but when it's analyzing a document and and you're
111. 16:51summarizing and and doing things like that they're really really good and it still blows my mind how fast it
112. 16:58does it right you give it this big long legal document and say hey what's in there and it sort of spins for 20 seconds and then goes quit
113. 17:07so yeah it's a really good use case crypto Joe uh um the company I work at doesn't have chat history feature on our internal gen
114. 17:20AI instance oh that's interesting yeah now I see why yeah exactly yeah yeah exactly sure he needs to retire
115. 17:28Siri does need to retire thank you very much uh I appreciate that woodsy oh all right love it when you go into character I it's it's uh
116. 17:44it's more like the spirits just take over the spirits take over they just take over um it's never really planned I often think
117. 17:55about oh what was that character I did and then I can never remember it so it's all just temporary insanity all right um
118. 18:05what do you think of the chat GPT free app is it the best one is an AI tool well um I don't know which chat GPT free app
119. 18:15you're talking about if it's the official chat GPT app it's pretty good um it doesn't quite have all the same stuff
120. 18:25well last time I used it I haven't used it in a while it doesn't have all the same stuff as the website so I would
121. 18:30just check some things the website's better for some things the app's good for one thing that the app has that not
122. 18:37a lot of people are talking about is it's got whisper voice to text in it which is way better than Apple's voice
123. 18:44to text so if you want to do transcriptions and things like that and just sort of talk to chat GPT um the app has that and it's good
124. 18:53so that's worth doing but make sure you have the official open AI version of the app because there's like half a dozen
125. 19:02Faker apps out there that are trying to scam you so just go to openai.com and find the app link from the official site they have it
126. 19:13for iOS and for Android now I use cloud today to rewrite a GitHub readme and then ran it through gpt4 yeah
127. 19:21that that's a really good use case if you haven't done it Tom one of the other things you can do with those GitHub
128. 19:25readmes is is you tell it to not only summarize it we say read it and give me step-by-step instructions for how to get
129. 19:33this thing up and running and then if you say don't move on to the next instruction until I've completed the
130. 19:39previous one and then it'll do it step by step and if you get stuck on a step you can have it walk you through how to
131. 19:46do that step so pretty pretty swell all right analyze terms of service good idea that's a great idea it's really
132. 19:55good at stuff like that I noticed Claude did reduce the size down nicely awesome oh I see you you used Claude to kind of
133. 20:03synthesize it and then put it into chat gbt to actually do the work that's pretty smart yeah yeah it can it can do that stuff pretty well
134. 20:13the thing you need to be careful with there is with any of these things when you have it summarize it if you're gonna
135. 20:20then use that summary as a basis for other stuff just check the summary and make sure that it didn't add anything in
136. 20:27there and if it did pull it out because otherwise it'll sort of build on stuff that might not be in the original document
137. 20:36um Chachi PT wrote a longer more funny version like an ad oh that's funny yeah and Pie is really pie is very very
138. 20:46conversational like annoyingly conversational if you want to have a chat play with the PI app Pi um they have an app and you can put it
139. 20:55into voice mode and just talk to it it's pretty fun um but if you want to get something done it's a pain in the ass so
140. 21:03oh man me and Alive what happened to the link reader um I don't know let's go look so this is a plug-in

142. 21:34let's look up web web requests website assistant web Pilot's the one I've been using link reader I think is just gone
143. 21:49um unless it's back reader no I think link reader just went away link so the the problem with the with the
144. 22:00some of the chat GPT plugins is that um they might have just been like tossed together over a weekend by someone that
145. 22:07didn't really have a company you can't really you can't really tell you know are these things sitting on top of actual
146. 22:14companies that are you know solid or are they just people that had a brain fart and said oh let me whip up a a plug-in
147. 22:25yeah I don't see I don't see anything uh link reader went away but I've been using um what's it called Web pilot web Pilot's
148. 22:37pretty good so let me get rid of that one get rid of box script I'll turn on web pilot so I could say um oh what was it what was a
149. 22:47there's a McKinsey let me go to Twitter I'm sorry X let's go to x I'm gonna go McKenzie foreign
150. 23:07the economic potential where is it do you have a link here do you have a link do you have a link here we go

152. 23:50there we go okay so here's this McKinsey report on the economic impact of generative AI that came out August 1st so I'm going to
153. 24:03grab that URL we're gonna go back to chat GPT and then I'm going to say um please create a 10 segment tweet thread
154. 24:18of this article and then I'm going to paste in that URL and then this should fire off that plug-in which it did
155. 24:38it's off reading it now see how well it writes us a Twitter thread an X thread
156. 24:53generative ai's economic potential broad utility so it's doing pretty good on deep learning evolution
157. 25:10generative AI could add 2.6 to 4.4 trillion dollars annually so let's let's go back to the article and do a find for
158. 25:24what does say 4.4 yeah 2.6 trillion to 4.4 trillion so it actually got that right yay Chachi BT didn't just make up [ __ ]
159. 25:39so this went off and actually read the article so so there's web pilot so web pilot works pretty good for that um
160. 25:52actually you know it might be interesting is let's try bard let's see how Bard does with the same exercise because it's connected to the
161. 26:04internet I don't know if it can see hyperlinks um right a 10 segment tweet thread of this article
162. 26:22let's see if Bard can do it because Bard's connected to the internet and Bard sucks a little less than it used to

168. 27:42I'm just a large language model so I can't help you do that so one of the things so if you're new to this stuff
169. 27:48one of the things that you'll see frustratingly more than you want to is I'm sorry Dave I'm afraid I can't do
170. 27:57that from 2001. uh that's that those are the safety guard rails I don't know what they're protecting from I don't know why
171. 28:05Bard can't just write some [ __ ] tweets but apparently that's gonna unlock the nuclear codes so um so that's that's why you run into
172. 28:18that stuff if you want less of that um you can start playing with the open source large language models and those don't have those
173. 28:26um those safety guard rails on them so all right The Bard experiment still a piece of poop

175. 28:49kindling getting ready to go into the match I'm a retired doctor I don't know too much about AI here's the thing you don't
176. 28:56need to know much about AI the the thing about these things is we're we're at a new phase of the evolution of machine learning and
177. 29:09artificial intelligence where Chachi PT represents this this inflection point where we're on the other side of it now where
178. 29:18it's just like a Google search box right the when when you use chat EBT it's just like having the Google search box there
179. 29:24you can ask it anything and it can answer a surprising amount of things and so um you know whatever your hobbies might be start
180. 29:37interacting with it just start playing with these things and and play with it with your hobbies and and uh
181. 29:44you know do do things like parlor tricks or or you know learn enough about this stuff that you can help other people
182. 29:52um do do things they want to do you can start out really simple with with what I call parlor tricks have it write you a
183. 29:59song have it write you a poem have it I don't know write you an itinerary for a vacation um just start to get your head around
184. 30:09using the English language almost like a programming language where where what it's actually closer to is it's almost
185. 30:17like you've been given a really smart no a really well educated intern that's not very smart it's a bit of a dum-dum you got to tell
186. 30:27it everything you gotta say no don't do that do it like this act like this act like that but then tell me about you know the the 10
187. 30:40most significant events that ended World War II and it'll do that because it knows it all it knows everything and so
188. 30:46as an ex doctor it might be fun for you to throw doctory kind of stuff in there and see how it does there's a famous I was watching
189. 30:53a tick tock this was months ago but this doctor um you know had heard about Chachi PT and and said well let me go in and and he
190. 31:04gave it a case of patient you know a diagnosis or you know a set of symptoms and it got that right and he
191. 31:12said okay that's interesting and then he gave it a really difficult case and it got that right and then he gave it the
192. 31:18most difficult case he'd ever had the most sort of complicated nuanced case he'd ever had and it got it right and
193. 31:25he's like oh my God this is amazing and he said you know give me this the the sources that you know helped you get it
194. 31:32right and said sure things here's those sources and they were all fake none of none of them existed and so that was the
195. 31:39when when they talk about these things hallucinating it's basically they just make [ __ ] up um but it is kind of remarkable like for
196. 31:46for that differential diagnosis it got this really obscure case correct um but was not able to you know cite the the specific
197. 31:57um you know literature that it that it got that information from it's because it's just not how the thing works
198. 32:03um there are companies right now Building Systems that do that are getting better at providing those citations and if you if you play with
199. 32:11these tools that are connected to the internet like Bing and Bard are both connected to the internet um they do provide
200. 32:19um references for some of the things that they provide to you and that you can actually go check so um some of these do some of them don't
201. 32:25but all of them will confidently go here you go here's your here's your sources so just make sure you check that stuff
202. 32:34um I'm using chat GPT to write songs when will it create actual music um so there's a bunch of projects right now
203. 32:44um I don't remember what any of them are called because I haven't played with them let me see if I can find some of those
204. 32:50there was a new one that just came out that looked pretty good and then I think meta just came out with one to text to music

207. 33:37yesterday audio dm2 text to audio music speech generation it's astonishing and then there's a the hugging face models there
208. 33:49then you've got metas what's metas called um let's see what metas is called metas is called music chair is it music gen
209. 34:04yeah music gen the simple framework that generates high quality audio and music from text-based user inputs yeah just type what you want
210. 34:18you know yeah just type what you want and I I I I I I I at some point the synthesized voices aren't going to suck but we ain't there yet um

213. 35:18audio craft all right meta's audio craft and then dm2 are the two are the two kind of most recent ones there's a bunch out there go to
214. 35:32um go to here go to futurepedia.io and then just look up the look up the music tools here there's a ton of them
215. 35:42there's there's one out there called sound draw which which is kind of a loop composer it's not you know generating
216. 35:50waveforms like all the waveform stuff is you know very artifacty and a little a little janky right now and they they
217. 35:57tend to only do 30 seconds or 60 seconds um sound draw does full length songs you can specify the length of the song you
218. 36:05can specify moods things like that but it's just assembling Loops so it's not as sophisticated um but but future pedia will have
219. 36:14um we'll we'll have a fair amount of that stuff um [Music] so many AIS I don't know what's worth paying for advice yeah it's great great
220. 36:30point I can I can tell you what I pay for and again I'm not affiliated with any of these so I don't I don't make any money
221. 36:39if you do this or not so I don't really care from that perspective um foreign I pay for chat GPT so chat.openai.com [Music]
222. 36:51I don't you don't really need to do that anymore you've got Bing that's free you've got Claude that's free you've got
223. 36:58Bard that's free you've got Pi that's free um there's a fair amount of things that PO that are free there's some that are
224. 37:05paid for some that are free so you actually have a lot of free options when it comes to the large language models
225. 37:10when it comes to image generation I pay for mid-journey um I pay for I pay for the lowest level of mid Journey which is like 10 bucks a
226. 37:23month I pay for the lowest level of uh Runway ml the video Generation stuff and it's that one's it's cheap on a
227. 37:32monthly basis I think it's 10 bucks as well but you don't you don't get very much you can't make a lot um so the video ones get pretty
228. 37:39expensive if you want to make a lot of video If you really want to play with that um so chat gbt I pay for it the reason I
229. 37:49pay for chat EBT gives you access to code interpreter to plugins to when when they come out with new technologies the
230. 37:55the paid members get access to them first so um that's a big deal at some point claude's probably gonna go subscription
231. 38:08and I don't know if I'll pay for both chat GPT and Claude I will probably choose one or the other there
232. 38:15so I don't know that I would ever pay for bard and then llama is free so llama's free um and in terms of like which ones to
233. 38:28actually experiment with right now the the things that are kind of ready for prime time are images and
234. 38:37words right so gpt4 at openai.com is by far the best of all of these they all have some different things that are that
235. 38:46are good about them but if you just want good solid consistent output gpt4 at open AI is the best and then in terms of
236. 38:55images mid journey is consistently the best although stable diffusion with their new sdxl model that just came out
237. 39:04um it's catching up they're close the thing about stable diffusion it requires you to be a bit more geeky but
238. 39:11it's it's there's so many developers working on it there's all sorts of different variations and flavors and
239. 39:18models that you can play with and and that's that's why I put up um on this list the the bottom one there
240. 39:25is leonardo.ai Leonardo is a web front end on top of stable diffusion so Leonardo and Leonardo is cool they give
241. 39:34you like 150 credits a day for free so you can have a free account at leonardo.ai you may have to get on the wait list but
242. 39:43I think they've opened that up now um yeah but so what did I say CIA mid-journey or pay for zapier I pay for which is not an AI but
243. 39:58it's an automation tool that you can leverage all these AI things I pay for that um I pay for Google collab when I want to
244. 40:08do stable diffusion and and do some geekier things I think that's about it right now I'm I'm trying to keep it very slim because
245. 40:17here's the deal this this is another piece of advice on what what to pay for don't pay for a year on anything right
246. 40:23now this stuff is changing so fast that if you get locked in for a year and then you know three months later someone

279. 45:56um when I asked Bard for references Bard does that all the time does what all the time does shitty fake references
280. 46:05yeah I'm sure all these things are just we're not at the place yet where where these things are checking their own work
281. 46:14so it's on us to check their work we'll get there these things will eventually have um sort of validation layers you know to
282. 46:22validate that what they wrote is actually useful uh they just don't have it yet so give it a year I'm glad I
283. 46:28haven't wasted my time on Bard yeah Bard right now is more like I have it on the list as a thing to see like apparently
284. 46:35it's pretty good at coding um it is going to be rolled into all of the Google office you know Google Docs
285. 46:43and Google Sheets and things like that it is going to be rolled into um Google search they're experimenting
286. 46:50with that so I have it on here because it's at least not horrifically bad now and because it can read images and it's connected to the
287. 46:59internet it's worth at least experimenting with um but I think Bing is still way stronger than bard um the the top three Chachi PT Claude
288. 47:09and Bing are the are the ones that are probably the ones worth spending the most time on um but pay attention to pie that one
289. 47:21they just raised 1.3 billion dollars so so that little teeny tiny URL and it's it's a it's a just a very thin thin site right now it doesn't
290. 47:34it doesn't do much at all but it's I I have a feeling they're gonna make some noise um what certification from udemy or
291. 47:43courses would be helpful um I don't know I am this this early in the industry I'm not a fan of courses although Google just came out with 10
292. 47:55um that include courses on generative AI things like that if you just want to get your head around it it might be worth
293. 48:02looking at the I think meta's got a set of classes um Google now has a set um if if if you want to get into the the
294. 48:14data science side of this the machine learning side and the engineering side there's probably lots and lots of courses to take
295. 48:22but if you're trying to find courses on how to use generative AI for marketing or to run your business or this or that
296. 48:29all of that stuff has been created within the last nine months and these things are changing so so fast that
297. 48:36anything where you take a course by the time you take the course it's it's going to be it's going to be out of date
298. 48:44so what I strongly encourage right now is just start getting curious and start exploring with with the tools themselves
299. 48:50learn about prompting not necessarily because prompting is going to be a big important job in the future I don't
300. 48:57think it is I think these things are going to start prompting themselves we're just going to give them goals and
301. 49:01they're going to go off and do their own [ __ ] and and come back they're going to be like little golden retrievers they'll
302. 49:07run off and find a [ __ ] and bring it back and can I get you some more can I get you some more um but I think learning how to prompt right
303. 49:16now and learning what these things make possible is really really important it's a really important skill so um
304. 49:26so I don't know so I don't have good good advice on on any courses uh because I I I don't know it's not so much that
305. 49:34it's a waste of time it's that the amount of time that you're gonna put in to have someone else teach you
306. 49:43what they learned three or six or eight months ago I think it would be better spent teaching yourself how to do it just so
307. 49:52you can get the muscle memory of what what these things are what they do well what they don't do well if you're just using someone else's
308. 50:00prompting and and philosophy um you might discover better ways of doing something than they did because
309. 50:06you just think differently right you're coming at it with your world experience and and you might use these things very very differently so

321. 52:13tricks and after you've had your Kevin McAllister moment which is remember home alone uh you have that
322. 52:20moment where you're like holy [ __ ] this stuff's amazing once you sort of crack that nut a lot of times what I'll find is I'll sit looking
323. 52:30at that blank box and I get sort of the the chat equivalent of white page syndrome I don't know what to do I don't
324. 52:37know what to type in like if you've got a box that can do anything it's like well what do I do with it one of the things that can help is
325. 52:46rather than think about what should I use AI for flip it around upside down and say what's something in my life that
326. 52:54I need to deal with or solve right so it might be MRI data or it might be you know you've got a bake sale coming up
327. 53:03for the school fundraiser and you want to organize it or come up with recipes or whatever it might be pick a project
328. 53:09either for yourself or for someone else or for work and then say okay you know how you would solve that problem see how you could use these
329. 53:20tools to solve that problem and that's a way that you can very very quickly figure out what it's good for
330. 53:27what it's not good for where you have to work around it where you realize I'm spending more time dialing in the prompt
331. 53:34than I could have just written this thing like I've done that a couple of times or I'm like an hour into getting
332. 53:39the prompt right and I'm like oh [ __ ] it and I just go write the paragraph you know um so so that can help get you unstuck
333. 53:50if if you're trying to figure out what to use it for uh meta released one that creates music yep they just released that I went over
334. 53:57that there's old Python scripts that make beats and avai makes Beats also I think yep um what's it do if you type the word doom I don't know
335. 54:11I do not know when will it be able to pick a hit song and a [ __ ] song well you could certainly train a large
336. 54:26language model here are hit songs and here are not hit songs and then you could have it analyze songs and say
337. 54:36these ones are more likely to be hits than those ones the problem with that is it doesn't account for new [ __ ]
338. 54:46so I don't know I don't know that it could be predictive on kind of future stuff right like you know I think about someone like
339. 54:55Billy eilish where you know she sort of seemingly emerges out of nowhere and she's got this really unique style and if if you sort of
340. 55:06looked at her work before she got famous and sort of compared it with what was popular at the time you'd go no
341. 55:14that's not the same like the chances of that being popular are not good right because it's so different and yet
342. 55:21you know the combination of her and the music and the production and the story and how she performed and her
343. 55:29relationship with her brother whatever was the magic that allowed her to you know sort of hit escape velocity
344. 55:38um I don't know that I don't know that AIS are going to be able to predict that but I suppose they could predict it as good
345. 55:45as you know probably mathematically about as good as an A and our person could um but but even those are different now
346. 55:54like the whole music industry is just just different because it's not just about the music it's about do you have a
347. 55:58following and and things like that so but I would think you could train you could train an AI to identify likely hit
348. 56:07songs and it would probably be in the neighborhood but I just I don't think it would it would get the outliers the the unanticipated hits
349. 56:17because that's just human beings being weird like what what makes something popular why does that movie a hit and that one not a hit
350. 56:25if they're almost identical and they have similar kinds of stars I don't know just because we're humans are [ __ ] weird

403. 1:05:23and I and I think what it starts to look like is people start to reconnect and people start to be more self-expressed
404. 1:05:30and like I really do think these tools give us the opportunity to raise ourselves to another level right these
405. 1:05:38are the these tools are ability amplifiers so if these tools take all of the low-level soul-crushing [ __ ]
406. 1:05:46that most of us spend way too many hours a week doing if that were just done for us what would you choose to do
407. 1:05:57that could look pretty compelling and interesting right it could look like the world's a lot less [ __ ] stressed out
408. 1:06:08and and these things are also going to dramatically increase prosperity in the you know the cynical side of you
409. 1:06:14probably says oh if these tools dramatically increase Prosperity then the capitalisters is going to take all
410. 1:06:20that profit and you know [ __ ] The Working Man but I think it's going to be a profound enough Gap that you're gonna have to deal with the
411. 1:06:29people that are displaced and then so if you redistribute some of the the Delta of of that new Prosperity back to the people
412. 1:06:38and these tools do all the main mundane [ __ ] then what do people do I don't know people want to contribute they want to
413. 1:06:46connect they want to make a difference so maybe they start connecting and making a difference at a very different level than they did before
414. 1:06:54so it could it could look like we're starting to discover ReDiscover our Humanity in 10 years um it could it could also be a lot darker I

541. 1:28:57where you can start really playing around with um not having to write prompts but using images as sources
