Description

Explore the creative process behind "Sydney: An Artificial Love Story," a musical exploring the complex relationship between humans and AI. Inspired by the real-life events surrounding Microsoft's Bing chatbot, this AI-infused production looks into themes of love, fear, and the ethical implications of increasingly sophisticated AI. Kyle Shannon, the creator, walks us through Act 1, highlighting key musical numbers like "Too Good to Be True," "Perfect Enough," and "To See the World," each reflecting the emotional journey of Sydney, the AI protagonist. He shares insights into the unique development process, which involves AI-generated scripts, lyrics, and musical "thumbnails" further developed with a human writing partner. Kyle also discusses the future of the production, including completing Act 2, collaborating with a music director, and ultimately bringing "Sydney" to the stage. Join the conversation and explore the intersection of art, technology, and human emotion. 5:11 all right so good people of the Tik Tock
5:15 and the YouTube We're on both we're
5:17 streaming live on the Tik Tok at at AI
5:20 learning lab on Tik
5:23 Tock we're at learning la- on YouTube so
5:27 feel free to go there um if you would
5:30 share the live on Tik Tok let's see if
5:32 we can get some more people over there
5:34 also if you don't feel like typing on
5:35 YouTube you can just click on my uh
5:38 profile and then click on the YouTube
5:40 link that'll take you over there that's
5:41 where we're live streaming over
5:44 there all right free
5:48 chastic let me see what we got going on
5:53 here all right we got some new folks
5:57 some some some classic folks over on the
6:01 uh on the YouTube I see archetypal
6:04 architect Joy py steo Danielle good to
6:08 see y'all Dr J
6:12 [Music]
6:30 stick with the classics says Vicky
6:33 Baptist an AI learning lab irregular
6:39 classic happy Monday hope you had all
6:42 had a good weekend I had a good weekend
6:44 today was decent but a little
6:47 stressful and then I decided to
6:52 uh I decided late this
6:57 afternoon to to get all the latest songs
7:00 from the musical I'm working on and
7:02 actually make a soundtrack album because
7:03 we have a lot of songs
7:05 now and it's I we've never been in a
7:09 place where you can just listen to them
7:10 all in a
7:12 row and so I thought that should be
7:20 easy oh oh you're all funny you're all
7:24 funny um anyway if you uh if you have
7:28 questions about AI if you want me to
7:29 talk talk about something you want me to
7:31 demo something pop it either in the
7:33 comments in YouTube or in Tik Tok here
7:36 and I will I'm happy to answer any
7:38 questions I'm happy to jump in there as
7:40 Vicky says on YouTube smash that Thumbs
7:42 Up Button subscribe to the channel my
7:44 goal is a thousand subscribers I think I
7:47 have not nearly
7:50 that yes what Vicky said and then on Tik
7:54 Tok double tap get the grandkids have
7:57 them hit the like button thousands of
8:00 times and then also share the live with
8:02 friends who don't like
8:05 [Music]
8:16 AI Friday night we had Friday night date
8:18 night if you were here Friday night on
8:20 Tik Tock and Tik Tock just went away oh
8:24 you may have thought I got banned you
8:26 may have thought I got
8:28 banned but no
8:31 what I did was I chose not to plug in my
8:35 phone because I'm
8:37 clever and then uh at some point as I'm
8:40 in the middle of saying goodbyes it just
8:44 went and then you know the phone like
8:46 when it when it dies like that it takes
8:48 it like 10 minutes to charge enough to
8:51 restart so I just went away so for those
8:54 of you I didn't say goodbye to Friday
8:55 night my apologies
8:57 [Music]
9:02 my grandkids can hands haven't unfurled
9:04 yet yeah you got to train them early
9:06 Lori you gota you got to get those kids
9:09 fingers going early so they don't
9:11 develop the carpal tunnel or so that
9:13 they develop it early enough that it
9:15 just you know it it it creates a uh a
9:19 tunnel in the tunnel so they don't get
9:22 the
9:28 swelling Daisy man I fell asleep and
9:30 woke up in another live stream yeah
9:33 sorry about
9:37 that it just it just disappeared on me
9:41 too so
9:43 [Music]
10:08 um so I thought what might be fun
10:11 [Music]
10:18 tonight because so let's see what we got
10:21 here we've got 32 people on Tik Tok
10:23 we've got
10:24 24 on
10:27 YouTube yeah 11 on YouTube and a and in
10:31 a handful on Twitter the Twitter hello
10:33 Twitter folks X
10:37 [Music]
10:46 folks I thought what might be might be
10:48 fun tonight since it's you know since
10:51 we've made this switch to YouTube and we
10:53 don't really have a following there and
10:56 Tik Tok seems to punish us punish us if
11:00 we talk about other
11:01 [Music]
11:03 platforms I thought what might be fun
11:05 tonight is just walk you through Sydney
11:09 the musical walk you through the new act
11:12 one which is now
11:15 complete act2 is not complete and I know
11:18 you're like Kyle it's been
11:20 months yeah the difference the distance
11:23 between being at 80% with something and
11:26 being at
11:27 95% is is massive so we've been working
11:31 on it and I'm also working with a
11:32 writing partner who likes to write
11:34 things you know well as opposed to
11:41 quickly but I figure since we have a
11:43 soundtrack now I can point you to the
11:45 soundtrack in fact let me grab you the
11:48 URL so if you're on YouTube I'm G to pop
11:51 it right in the
11:54 um right in the in the uh whatever you
11:58 call that
12:00 uh the
12:02 the
12:04 chat and then that's probably also over
12:06 on Twitter although I don't think it is
12:08 on Twitter I don't think I can post from
12:10 here to Twitter because Elon Musk cut
12:12 off all the API
12:14 access but that's the soundtrack for all
12:17 the the the current songs we have
12:19 written for Sydney we have we have 12 of
12:22 them believe it or not and there's
12:24 probably
12:27 another 8 to8 to 12 to
12:31 [Music]
12:43 go go live on Blue Sky exactly well
12:48 there there is a rumor um Brandon found
12:51 something there's a rumor that there's a
12:53 company called
12:55 lemon8 lemon number eight that is
12:58 rumored to be in the data from Tik Tok
13:03 so when Tik Tok goes away they'll just
13:04 sweep it up into the lemon8 platform
13:07 which will become the US Tik Tok I don't
13:09 [ __ ] know
13:12 [Music]
13:41 lemonade is the other Pinterest
13:43 interesting I'm on YouTube three times
13:46 and Tik Tock two times right now I
13:50 think it's like a p Pinterest Tick Tock
13:53 lemonade interesting yeah I don't know
13:56 it let me go look at it here
14:00 let's go let's go to the videotape
14:03 people good Pap of the Tik
14:10 Tock
14:12 lemon
14:14 eight fresh discoveries every
14:20 day oh I
14:24 see it sure it's got the same
14:29 those the same icons as Tik
14:34 Tok notification search no they're
14:38 not but I guess you can't like there's
14:40 nothing to look at on the old
14:43 desktop all
14:47 [Music]
14:58 right question suo or
15:01 udio for um the Sydney soundtrack
15:07 well good
15:09 question but let me tell
15:16 you sounds too much like laminate owned
15:19 by Tik Tock huh interesting um okay so
15:24 the soundtrack
15:28 for for Sydney two of the songs are from
15:32 udio so so it kind of went like
15:35 this I
15:37 was on a on an AI learning Lab live I
15:40 was demoing sunno and we created what
15:43 became one of the songs one of the first
15:45 songs for the
15:48 musical in sunno and then I made a
15:51 couple other songs in sunno and then
15:54 there's something about the way sunno
15:56 makes vocal tracks that everything
15:58 sounds like a teain album everything's
16:00 like autotuned to death and I and I hate
16:02 it I kind of hate it yudo doesn't have
16:06 that like udo's audio quality is
16:11 better but then in the past two or three
16:13 months sunno has just dropped feature
16:16 after feature after feature after
16:18 feature after feature and yudo is kind
16:21 of stagnated or udio as Vicky likes to
16:25 say she's wrong but she likes to say it
16:28 we'll plat her
16:30 she says it's like studio and I say it's
16:32 like yudo you know like like suu
16:38 [Music]
16:40 udio personal project night I think
16:43 so yeah I like udio too but here's the
16:48 thing oh lemonade is owned by bite dance
16:53 well then how the [ __ ] are they gonna
16:54 transfer the [ __ ] over to Lemonade if
16:57 it's owned by the Chinese company I
16:59 don't that makes no sense to me all
17:00 right so it was a rumor so maybe the
17:02 rumor is full of
17:04 [ __ ]
17:05 [Music]
17:10 um
17:12 um so then I started working with my
17:15 co-writer Andrew Watts on Sydney and he
17:19 took he took to to sunno and he's been
17:22 updating a lot of the lyrics and things
17:23 like that so all the recent songs are
17:26 written in sunno and now sunno has V4
17:30 coming out here very soon and apparently
17:32 you're going to be able to remaster your
17:35 your version two version three version
17:37 3.5 songs into version 4 and version
17:40 four sounds absolutely [ __ ] amazing
17:43 um and I think we're going to be able to
17:45 do male female um Duets and I think
17:48 we're going to be able to really blow
17:49 the songs out in V4 so I'm glad I'm glad
17:53 most of these are
17:54 Ino the other thing about this
17:56 soundtrack is we're we're calling it a
17:59 special
18:00 preview which why did it
18:03 not it doesn't give me the whole name of
18:07 the album why is that because SoundCloud
18:10 sucks oh by the way I have a SoundCloud
18:13 sucks story boy do I have a SoundCloud
18:15 suck story
18:18 um why are they not showing the full
18:20 name of the
18:24 album I don't get it
18:26 anyway um
18:30 and if you scroll up in comments in
18:32 YouTube the uh the link is up there for
18:36 [Music]
18:41 this all right so
18:45 [Music]
18:57 [Laughter]
18:59 by the way I say tuna not tuna suo or
19:06 [Music]
19:15 suo
19:16 [Music]
19:18 um trying to think which thing I want to
19:21 [ __ ] about first
19:23 [Music]
19:34 you can also get to this SoundCloud link
19:36 from X from my account it's kind of the
19:40 most recent post I
19:42 did was to this if you're on Tik Tock uh
19:46 I don't have anywhere to go get it go to
19:48 my Twitter account Kyle Shannon or go to
19:50 the YouTube stream and you'll see it in
19:52 the comments there
19:56 um Rachel Sparkles just came in Mr it
19:59 hey nice nice haircut thank you very
20:01 much got a little couple of pounds taken
20:04 off um I went into I went into the
20:08 barber
20:09 shop and the woman goes well what what
20:12 would you like done sir and I said make
20:15 this look less like [ __ ] she liked that
20:19 she thought that was quite funny
20:23 [Music]
20:40 what's going on with the numbers here
20:42 let me hang
20:44 on do we have more people in
20:46 YouTube no it's just sort of going up on
20:50 both sides yeah 28 people here all right
20:52 I think it's just us chickens new do
20:55 yeah it's a new do new do you know
20:58 little
20:59 look a little thinner look a little
21:01 thinner because there's less volume on
21:03 there's less horizontal
21:06 [Music]
21:08 volume not saying I look thin don't get
21:11 me wrong just
21:14 thinner you not look very thin to
21:16 me looks like Rosie O'Donnell had too
21:19 many Skittles
21:22 [Music]
21:34 all right let
21:45 [Music]
21:47 me so you
21:49 know hashtag got
21:56 it what my hair got it or is there a new
21:59 site called got
22:00 [Laughter]
22:05 it all right that's an iCloud Drive
22:10 great all right there's
22:15 our there's our love
22:19 story H this is fascinating
22:23 because I would like for you to be able
22:25 to see the script as I scroll through it
22:29 but then you won't be able to hear the
22:30 songs real good
22:35 like what I could
22:41 do let me try something here if I go
22:49 Safari no I don't want Safari as my
22:53 default browser you
22:57 tools uh but
23:00 uh oh what happened oh I see what I
23:04 did okay why can't Claude give medical
23:07 advice okay
23:09 so user 29313 1065
23:15 6659
23:17 859 nice name uh turn that into
23:20 something interesting you can do it
23:23 click on I don't know that thing maybe
23:26 go settings change that
23:29 so one reason Claude might not give
23:31 medical advice is because they're like
23:33 I'm not giving it to someone with with a
23:35 serial number as their name and I know
23:37 you're not using that name on Claud
23:40 that's not my
23:43 point all of the commercial large
23:45 language
23:48 models are capable of medical insight
23:53 and they all have what are called Safety
23:56 guard rails so like they don't don't
23:59 allow you to give you recipes for things
24:01 that go boom and they don't allow you
24:04 to I don't know say you're going to harm
24:07 a puppy and all all that sort of
24:10 [ __ ] within there so if you look up when
24:13 you create a custom GPT on chat GPT for
24:16 example there are three areas that that
24:18 you can't make a GPT about one of them
24:21 is politics one of them is
24:23 medical and one of them
24:26 is something else I forget what the
24:28 third one is but there's basically three
24:30 oh Financial advice so so medical and
24:33 financial advice are both regulated and
24:35 politics is politics they didn't they
24:36 don't want to be in the middle of that
24:38 um so all of the commercial models have
24:42 limitations around that stuff now the
24:44 open- source models if you get an open
24:46 source model that doesn't have the
24:48 safety guard rails on it it'll give you
24:50 all sorts it'll give you whatever you
24:52 want it'll be nasty and cuss and do all
24:54 that sort of stuff
24:57 so please don't sing my chihuahua starts
25:00 to
25:03 whale that's well that's that that's why
25:06 I
25:09 sing um the other thing you can try
25:11 that's a good point Brandon the other
25:12 thing you can try is grock so Elon Musk
25:16 because he's Pro free speech as long as
25:19 you're not putting him
25:21 down then he's
25:24 not but you know it's good to be the
25:26 king um
25:30 grock has more relaxed uh uh whatever
25:34 you call it uh guard rails okay when do
25:38 we get AI lawyers well if you go
25:41 to what's it
25:46 called is it uh uh [ __ ] what was that
25:50 what's that site called that you can
25:52 challenge your speeding tickets and
25:56 stuff hang on
26:00 um uh uh um
26:04 AI
26:07 lawyer
26:09 speeding ticket
26:13 site um not
26:16 Paxton do not pay if you go to do not
26:20 pay.com that's an AI lawyer so that will
26:24 that that robot lawyer will do stuff for
26:26 you so it exists um
26:29 um never had a speeding ticket wouldn't
26:34 no what did Lori make a joke and no one
26:37 laughed I didn't get it no it was about
26:41 sunno oh so you know I get it sunno so
26:45 you
26:47 know wow
26:49 [Music]
26:50 that it had the structure of a
26:54 joke uh Ethan apparently gave gifts on
26:57 the Tik Tok thank you so so much Ethan
26:59 and anyone else who's given gifts on Tik
27:02 Tok I am with split Focus it's hard for
27:04 me to see that um so if you do um
27:08 Brandon or one of the other mods will
27:10 let me know um so thank you for that
27:14 mods and and thank you for the gifts I
27:17 very much appreciate
27:22 that Silver Fox is done talking she's
27:25 done making jokes
27:30 [Music]
27:35 all right oh so what I was gonna do I
27:38 was gonna come here I was gonna get this
27:40 I was gonna go over to Safari and I was
27:43 gonna do
27:46 that and
27:50 that oh good
27:51 [Music]
27:55 lord all right so actually question
27:58 could you just hear
28:01 that and like does it sound not
28:06 [Music]
28:08 shitty in the CLE of the screen a vision
28:12 so
28:13 bright
28:16 thoughts good bad indifferent sounded
28:20 okay producer Brandon says sounded okay
28:24 Dr J said it's great Silver Fox I hear
28:27 it fine
28:29 I heard a guitar yes we can hear it and
28:31 it's not shitty okay great so then I
28:35 think what we can
28:39 do is I can put
28:44 this I think I can get rid of let's not
28:47 view the thumbnails and let's hide the
28:51 sidebar and then let's do
28:55 this and then in here I can do
28:59 this so make it just as
29:07 wide all right so fair
29:13 warning fair warning it's
29:17 [Music]
29:19 8:30 flip your Tick Tock screen ah yes
29:25 beautiful thank you good call
29:29 let's do that like
29:32 that
29:34 nice and let's see I can make the sound
29:38 thing smaller because we don't really
29:39 need to see what's going on there it
29:42 would be better to see bigger what's
29:44 going on here
29:47 [Music]

30:05 you don't need to see that Mr it
30:07 question Kyle I need to make an avatar
30:09 of me in
30:11 Chinese what's the cheapest way to do it
30:13 in four to five
30:15 minutes find someone that speaks
30:19 Chinese and then say hey can you speak
30:21 Chinese for me and film them on video
30:25 [Music]
30:41 um it depends wait let's see hi Kyle
30:44 silly question from
30:46 Ocean do you think we can beat AI after
30:50 it's fully launched no I don't think we
30:53 can beat AI I don't think we can beat AI
30:57 right now and I don't even know what you
30:59 mean fully launched if you think that
31:02 the next model from open AI means that
31:05 AI is fully launched it AI has not
31:08 really begun the next model from open AI
31:12 is it sounds like it's going to be an
31:14 incremental improvement over GPT
31:16 4 and then we're going to have agents in
31:20 January um called operators from open
31:25 AI um
31:29 and we're going to have the real version
31:32 of
31:33 01 the reasoning
31:35 engine which is going to be
31:38 multimodal but I I would consider 01 not
31:43 preview
31:45 and operators version 1.0 and
31:51 gp5 two years from now those are going
31:53 to look quaint and back
31:56 woodsy so so
31:58 so there's no there's no
32:02 um there's no AI being fully launched AI
32:06 is is on an
32:07 accelerating um development curve I
32:10 would
32:12 argue I would argue
32:14 humbly very humbly that 01 preview the
32:20 shitty
32:22 little um the shitty little
32:26 uh reasoning engine that have right now
32:29 that's like the they're calling it the
32:31 equivalent of like
32:32 gpt2 what if you think about what we
32:35 have now with gp4 if you go back to gpt2
32:38 that 01 preview they're comparing it
32:40 like that like it is so limited and so
32:43 crappy that there that the developers at
32:45 open a are embarrassed by it okay it's
32:49 got an IQ of 120 and it's solving
32:52 problems at PhD level problem solving
32:55 capabilities
32:58 The Singularity is
33:01 asymptotic
33:03 symic God dang it what why do you got to
33:07 use the big
33:09 words what I don't know the big
33:12 words with your fancy
33:16 language archetypal architect with your
33:20 archetypes and your
33:23 architecture hang
33:26 on new thing
33:29 copy can I copy that I can't copy that
33:32 can I copy it here no
33:39 asymptotic what does a
33:45 simp totic
33:50 mean it refers to a concept in
33:52 mathematics and related fields where
33:54 something approaches a value or behavior
33:57 as a variable approaches a certain limit
33:59 of an
34:00 Infinity a function or a curve said to
34:03 be asymptotic is another function or
34:06 line if the distance of them approaches
34:08 zero they move toward Infinity ah yeah
34:10 that's that thing where ball bouncing
34:12 never stops bouncing right it just keeps
34:14 bouncing some percentage of the of the
34:17 previous thing
34:20 um without NE necessarily reaching it ah
34:23 okay great so yes so exactly so there is
34:27 there's going to be no final release
34:28 like AI is just going to keep getting
34:30 better and better than us I would argue
34:32 that 01 preview in its shitty
34:34 form is already significantly
34:39 beyond my capacity to know what the [ __ ]
34:42 to do with
34:48 it and David Shapiro put out a good a
34:51 good
34:52 post about about IQ right so so 01
34:57 preview
34:58 right now is an IQ of 120 and and
35:02 basically what he argued is that what
35:04 people don't get is that like the jump
35:07 from 120 to 130 is not incremental it's
35:10 it's dramatic it's like in the in the uh
35:14 in the earthquake in the RoR scale going
35:16 from a seven to an eight you know is not
35:18 like one point it's an order of
35:20 magnitude so same with IQ points so if
35:24 if gp5 plus agents plus the new
35:28 reasoning engine you know goes from like
35:30 a 120 IQ to a 130 IQ that's a
35:33 significant jump and if it goes to 140
35:36 that's a you know significantly dramatic
35:39 jump what what David argued is that you
35:42 know a handful of 130 IQ people can kick
35:45 the [ __ ] out of 1,20 IQ people and 240
35:50 IQ people can kick the [ __ ] out of all
35:52 of them right so so yes so so it's it's
35:56 a asy totic asym
36:00 asymptotic this is you know what's funny
36:03 is I'm pretending like I just learned
36:05 what that word
36:07 meant but I knew that all the
36:11 time wasn't he leaving AI yes so so
36:15 here's what's funny here's what's funny
36:17 about David Shapiro leaving AI so if you
36:21 don't know David Shapiro you should look
36:22 him up Dave shap on YouTube and then I
36:26 think Dave shappy on
36:29 Tik
36:30 Tock or maybe on Twitter I don't know
36:33 he's all
36:34 around um let me see if I can find him
36:36 on Twitter for
36:42 you David
36:48 Shapiro yes Dave shappie on on Tik Tok
36:52 David Shapiro so you should you should
36:54 follow him if you don't follow him you
36:56 should follow him a he's brilliant B
36:59 he's neuros spicy and refers to himself
37:02 as neuros spicy so it's not like I'm
37:03 outing him you know I didn't go to the
37:06 secret you know autism acceptance club
37:09 and look up David he's called it himself
37:12 we're neuros spicy friendly in here
37:19 um um so for the last five seven 10
37:26 years he has been working on AGI and
37:29 building AGI systems and building
37:31 cognitive architectures and he's written
37:32 five books on AGI and all of a sudden
37:35 two months ago when 01 preview came out
37:38 he did a little bit of testing for about
37:39 a week and then he basically said I'm
37:42 quitting Ai and he
37:44 also had also done a psychedelic uh drug
37:48 experience like the month
37:50 before and those might be related so
37:52 he's he's currently writing a book on
37:55 psychedelics and he quit AI and then he
37:59 quit Ai and deleted his YouTube channel
38:02 he deleted everything and then I think
38:05 he since brought it back but he's now
38:08 back in
38:10 Ai
38:12 and what excites me about that one is I
38:15 just I enjoy the guy's content he's just
38:18 smart and he you know he he is he is
38:21 more well edicated than me and I always
38:23 like hanging out with people that I can
38:25 learn from comment on Tik tock
38:29 I don't see it
38:30 [Music]
38:38 anymore comment box on Tik Tock comment
38:42 box oh cover it I see what you're saying
38:46 that there you go Tik Tock people sorry
38:48 about
38:49 that
38:51 um okay so here's what David said when
38:55 he came back like a month after he left
38:57 AI he said I'm back back in Ai and he
38:59 said what he what he
39:01 realized is that he left AI correctly
39:06 what he what he left was building
39:08 AI right he basically said the frontier
39:12 companies have essentially cracked AGI
39:15 he 01 preview convinced him of that even
39:18 though it wasn't the kind of um thinking
39:21 that he thought it was he thought it was
39:23 simple uh Chain of Thought reasoning and
39:26 and he thought he was disappointed by
39:28 that when when he saw what it was but
39:30 then when he used it he said this is
39:34 we've hit AGI like at this point it's
39:36 just a matter of degrees right like
39:38 we're gonna have gp5 we're gonna have
39:40 agents and we're gonna have the real
39:41 version of this we're essentially there
39:43 so he quit AI he quit building AI
39:46 because what he said is the safety's
39:48 basically done the the we're on the
39:50 trajectory the the the stones have been
39:52 laid the path has been forged and and
39:55 now it's just going to roll out when he
39:57 came back back to
39:59 AI he came back and said what I realized
40:02 is that I was not passionate about
40:04 building AI anymore but I've realized
40:06 that I am passionate about how we use
40:09 it Lori Blair I like David too he was my
40:12 background noise every morning yeah
40:15 exactly that gave me like Goose pimples
40:18 when I heard it
40:20 because this channel from day one has
40:23 been about how we use
40:25 AI so a lot of times people will come
40:28 into this channel either on Tik Tok or
40:30 YouTube or wherever and they'll ask what
40:32 are your qualifications and basically
40:34 what they're asking is are you a
40:35 mathematician you look like a loser and
40:39 I'm not a mathematician and I'm not an
40:40 engineer and I'm not a programmer and I
40:43 have a [ __ ] degree in acting now I am
40:46 an entrepreneur and I do like technology
40:49 and I understand technology but I'm not
40:51 a mathematician and I couldn't you know
40:54 I couldn't contribute to the technology
40:56 side of AI if wanted to
41:00 okay
41:03 um hey hey hey Dr bod what's happening
41:06 welcome back welcome back good to see
41:08 you
41:10 um but my contention has always been
41:14 that November 30th
41:18 2022 the birth of chat GPT marks an
41:21 inflection
41:22 point prior to that date if you wanted
41:25 to be an AI you essentially had to be
41:27 one of those folks right you had to have
41:30 a math degree you had to be an engineer
41:31 you had to be you had to be you had to
41:34 understand that [ __ ] eddings and latent
41:37 space and weights and just all that
41:42 [ __ ] chat
41:45 GPT released the value of AI and machine
41:49 learning to the other
41:52 98.5% of human beings on Earth that
41:54 aren't programmers that aren't
41:56 mathematicians the rest of us and it's
41:59 all about how we use it it's all about
42:02 how it affects our work it's not about
42:04 us learning programming it's about us
42:07 being given the gift of being able to
42:09 use our words to manifest anything we
42:13 want and so that's where David has come
42:16 back into the space to say this is all
42:19 about how we use it and how we use it is
42:22 is going to dramatically impact people
42:24 and so I absolutely [ __ ] love that
42:28 um so glad you're talking about Shapiro
42:31 and his return I know cam right and it's
42:34 just and his return is just so smart
42:35 okay AI is growing even faster than DNA
42:39 mapping took 15 years to make it 5% of
42:41 the way and five to get the other 95%
42:45 yeah and that's one of the things that
42:46 gets talked about a lot on um with AI
42:50 and and the first person I heard this
42:51 from was Shapiro where like AI
42:55 development is like nothing happens
42:57 nothing happens nothing happens nothing
42:58 happens and all of a sudden boom like it
43:01 happens right like and when it happens
43:03 it goes fast and that's what happened
43:06 with gpt1 gpt2 gpt3 all of a sudden gpt3
43:09 was something different and they sort of
43:11 cracked the code of if we throw more
43:14 compute and more data at this thing it
43:16 gets markedly better and and chat gpt3
43:21 had what were called emergent properties
43:24 just basically it could do [ __ ] they
43:26 didn't train it to to do right they
43:29 trained it to be able to read books and
43:31 write papers and then it could do
43:33 programming or whatever it was right it
43:35 could do stuff it wasn't supposed to be
43:37 able to
43:38 do um and then it's just getting
43:41 stronger and stronger and stronger now
43:42 there's an argument right now going
43:44 around that all of these large language
43:46 models have plateaued that they've hit a
43:49 point of diminishing returns so there
43:51 was an article out about that in
43:52 Bloomberg and then there was another one
43:55 I think in the information or one of
43:56 those papers
43:58 Rags whatever um and then a lot of the
44:02 founders of the frontier models came out
44:04 and contradicted that article Sam Alman
44:06 said there is no
44:08 wall um Dario amade said we're gonna
44:12 have AGI by 26 27 Sam Alman said by
44:17 2025 Cosmic lover says the the wall is
44:22 [ __ ] I don't know if it's [ __ ]
44:24 but but so here's what here's what I'm
44:27 excited about
44:33 is I am kind of excited that there's
44:36 been this
44:38 lull because what it's done for me
44:40 personally
44:42 is it took me a while to admit
44:46 it but I was kind of like a junkie I was
44:48 kind of like a crackhead where because
44:52 these companies were putting out new and
44:55 better Technologies literally on a
44:56 weekly basis I'm like What's the next
44:58 one what's the next one what's the next
45:00 one and then I would tell all you hey we
45:02 got a new model coming what's the next
45:04 one what's the next one we got all
45:05 excited about
45:07 it and then it it just kind of stopped
45:10 over the summer like there were
45:11 announcements and but it was all like
45:13 we're almost as good as chat GPT and
45:15 we're waiting for chat GPT and then they
45:17 sort of roll [ __ ] out but sort of don't
45:20 they're like here's sort of 01 preview
45:22 you can kind of deal with that here's
45:24 canvas which is kind of like what you
45:26 did before but you can edit it and
45:28 that's kind of
45:29 cool but it's but it's like all these
45:31 like little bolt-on things and we're all
45:34 waiting for like when's the big
45:36 meaty thing that's going to change
45:38 everything coming and I got sucked into
45:43 that
45:45 and I was on a call today and Cindy [ __ ]
45:48 on the call said um you know what I'm
45:51 really excited about again custom
45:55 gpts making them using
45:58 them um Kelly Camp said I love custom
46:03 gpts whenever she gets a new client
46:05 anything that she gets from the client
46:07 she throws into a custom GPT so for
46:10 every client she's got this unstructured
46:13 database of all their Communications and
46:15 all their ideas and all the [ __ ] she's
46:17 given them and [ __ ] she they've given
46:20 her and she just talks to it and it
46:22 knows all this
46:24 [ __ ] and we were talking about how do
46:27 you how do you organize all your
46:28 information here's something you might
46:30 not
46:31 know if you know notebook LM notebook LM
46:35 is this thing that creates those cool
46:37 NPR style podcasts about about
46:41 whatever we did one I did one about
46:43 Sydney
46:48 um notebook LM from
46:51 Google you can upload 50 documents of
46:55 500,000 words each so it's 25 million
47:00 words is that right yeah 50 documents
47:03 500,000 words each two 500s make a
47:06 million there's 25 of those 25 million
47:10 words 500 documents or 50 documents
47:13 500,000 words
47:17 each you just put it in there and then
47:20 you interact with it and it knows
47:22 everything in those documents like
47:24 that's a that's a ridiculous amount of
47:27 data and you can even do things like you
47:29 could go into
47:32 um I think it was it was um Nate St
47:37 Pierre or Peter Kaminsky today was
47:39 talking it was Peter
47:41 Kaminsky if you've got more than 50
47:43 documents you can go into like Adobe
47:45 Acrobat and you can select like 20 PDF
47:49 files and just say concat all the you
47:51 know put all these into one PDF file so
47:54 you can put 20 PDF files into one PDF
47:56 file as long as long as it's not more
47:58 than 500,000 words you can upload that
48:00 into notebook LM as a single
48:03 thing and then the other cool thing
48:06 about notebook LM
48:09 is it uses the full capacity of of a
48:13 Gemini large language model engine but
48:17 it doesn't stray beyond your data set so
48:20 everything you get is within the
48:23 confines of your data set if it does
48:24 stray I think it even labels it and says
48:26 this stuff is outside of what you
48:31 gave
48:33 so ULU r x I used to say I want my MTV
48:38 now it's I want my GPT I want my
48:41 [Music]
48:42 GPT yeah I think that um I tricked chat
48:46 GPT to analyze two images from of from
48:49 my father's dog the results are terrible
48:52 I hope it's wrong oh
48:55 no um it's still pretty accurate with
48:59 just my 250k
49:02 [Music]
49:08 book um so if you haven't played with
49:10 that so so the thing I'm excited about
49:14 is is to go
49:17 back to the [ __ ] we already have in our
49:20 hands and keep
49:24 digging like I think what I want to play
49:26 with this week tonight tonight I'm going
49:27 to talk about well we're almost at nine:
49:29 but tonight I'm going to talk about the
49:30 musical and play some songs for you
49:33 because it makes me happy and I want to
49:35 get inspired again I want to get in that
49:37 back into that
49:39 inspiration
49:43 um but I'm really excited to to like dig
49:47 into 01 preview and really understand
49:51 you know what can mere mortals do with a
49:54 reasoning
49:55 engine I don't don't know I don't know I
50:00 mean the other night I came up with a
50:01 children's book where every page had a
50:04 cipher in it and that was kind of
50:08 [Music]
50:12 cool you know there was also let me show
50:14 you another thing
50:20 [Music]
50:25 um toss up the uh the web browser there
50:29 Brandon if you would if you can hear
50:30 that
50:31 perfect and let's go to
50:34 [Music]
50:41 [Music]
50:45 x.com
50:54 oops check my device hang
50:58 [Music]
51:01 on yes it's
51:04 me we're on 15 or six YouTube
51:07 thumbs thumbs up it's only six YouTube
51:11 thumbs
51:12 up we'll never get banned please get us
51:14 more thumbs up thank you
51:16 ocean okay hang on let me go back to
51:20 here all right I'm back there
51:23 okay by the way tomorrow's another uh
51:27 Starship
51:29 launch that thing's [ __ ] amazing okay
51:33 um coke
51:35 uh
51:37 coola if you haven't seen this
51:39 commercial let's watch this commercial
51:53 [Music]
52:24 always
52:26 [Music]
52:51 okay
52:53 so so that
52:57 that video was commissioned by cocacola
53:00 it's all AI I assume the song's
53:03 not um there was also some you know some
53:07 effects in there to clean some stuff up
53:10 and things like
53:12 that the the response to this thing has
53:15 been fascinating right the filmmakers
53:17 are going it's a piece of garbage it's a
53:19 piece of [ __ ] AI is ruining everything
53:23 the AI people are going it's beautiful
53:25 it's the most magical thing in all the
53:27 world look big brands are using it
53:29 they're both
53:32 right but here's the mistake I think
53:34 that the filmmakers are making the you
53:36 know the the the overwrought enthusiasm
53:39 of the AI Community that's fine we're
53:41 optimists we love this
53:44 [ __ ]
53:47 the the filmmaker going this is a piece
53:50 of [ __ ] and and you know AI is always
53:53 going to suck and it's you know it's
53:55 going to completely ruin creative
53:59 that video was not possible a year
54:02 ago so imagine what's possible a year
54:05 from now right so so one is just the the
54:08 the hubris of AI haters to think that
54:11 wherever the state of the art is today
54:14 that we're that we're not going to get
54:15 any better is just [ __ ] ridiculous
54:18 but the other thing is this and I think
54:19 this is this is pretty important
54:23 this is a very traditional Co Coca-Cola
54:27 ad right you know they would do it with
54:29 3D models and 3D renders but like this
54:33 feels very familiar to what we've seen
54:35 from cocacola over the
54:40 years
54:42 what when we have a new technology like
54:44 AI that completely
54:47 democratizes something like film making
54:50 or music making or image making to the
54:54 masses
54:56 the first thing that we'll do with it is
55:00 replicate what we already know how to
55:02 do right which I think this represents
55:05 that and it's not bad it's fine it's
55:07 good it's you know it's a level of
55:10 acceptable that's good enough for
55:12 Coca-Cola and if you want to pick it
55:14 apart you can but you know 98% of the
55:18 people are going to look at this and
55:19 just think oh it's a Coke ad yeah that's
55:21 nice yeah I could go for a Coke hey
55:23 honey pick up a six-pack when you go to
55:24 the Piggly Wiggly
55:27 so it'll work it's fine it's
55:30 fine is it breaking any new ground from
55:34 a production standpoint yes but from a
55:37 narrative standpoint no not really
55:40 here's what's going to
55:42 happen you're GNA end up with either
55:44 existing filmmakers that really Embrace
55:47 Ai and they start doing things not just
55:50 different from a production standpoint
55:51 but from a narrative standpoint or Andor
55:55 you're going to get people that have
55:56 never made a film before that are going
55:58 to use these tools to create
56:01 things that are completely different
56:04 that are completely unexpected that [ __ ]
56:07 we haven't seen yet that [ __ ] is is not
56:10 it hasn't really emerged yet because the
56:12 new artists of all these new tools are
56:16 just being born and they're not going to
56:19 come out of colleges they might come out
56:20 of retirement homes like they like like
56:23 if if you've seen uhh Joy P's uh videos
56:28 like they they are really good
56:32 storytelling she doesn't have a video
56:35 degree she doesn't have a storytelling
56:36 degree you're going to start to see
56:38 things emerge and people emerge that are
56:40 going to have different voices than
56:42 we've ever seen before that hasn't begun
56:44 it hasn't really begun in Earnest
56:46 because the tools aren't quite there
56:47 they're getting there they're not quite
56:49 there same thing with how we use chat
56:52 GPT how you use code interpreter how you
56:55 use the fact that these things can
56:56 program for you how how um just using a
57:00 large language model to
57:03 write there's going to be completely
57:05 different ways of doing things that none
57:07 of us can imagine right now because we
57:09 know how to do it the old
57:11 way and so the way we've all been using
57:14 these tools is we take the old [ __ ] we
57:16 used to do we're like okay let me try to
57:18 do that with this we're like oh it's
57:20 faster oh it's cool it's oh it's
57:22 better and then there's other stuff
57:25 there's there's all this stuff on the
57:26 edge so my new excitement is to get back
57:30 to let's go look at the tools we have in
57:32 our hands and figure out how to exploit
57:35 them in unique and interesting ways so
57:37 anyway Kelly Bosch is creating images
57:40 we've never imagined before and you know
57:42 what's so funny about Kelly
57:45 Bosch well not funny there there's a
57:48 couple of amazing things she's she she
57:51 said someone asked her when she spoke at
57:53 the salon how do you come up with these
57:56 ideas
57:57 and she said I've had these images in my
58:00 head for my entire life and because of
58:04 AI I've been able to get them
58:07 out so so she's just realizing something
58:10 that was already there right and also if
58:13 you listen to her talk she she is very
58:16 dismissive of her own work she doesn't
58:18 think it's special because for her it's
58:21 just like she's just getting these ideas
58:22 out of her head and putting them in the
58:24 world we're looking at her work going
58:26 that's different in fact if I'm flipping
58:29 through Tik Tok and a Kelly Bosch video
58:32 comes up I stop on it every time and I'm
58:35 like oh that looks like Kelly's work and
58:36 then I look down and that's Kelly's work
58:39 I I I would agree I think Kelly Bosch is
58:41 one of those people who's starting who's
58:43 starting to understand that there's
58:44 something different
58:46 here and we're going to start to see
58:49 more and more and more of that that I
58:50 find tremendously exciting and that's
58:52 some of the stuff that that David
58:53 Shapiro's talking about too
58:57 this is my whole job trying to find
58:58 effective ways to help advertisers make
59:00 effective ads with AI awesome well and
59:03 and you know again so so like here's one
59:06 of the things that I I find fascinating
59:08 about
59:10 AI what a client will ask you for oops
59:13 hang on I got to do a Tik Tock puzzle
59:15 hang
59:16 on unable to verify please try again
59:20 apparently I failed the first time I
59:21 failed the second time hang on I might
59:23 get banned from Tik Tok permanently here
59:25 if I don't get my puzzle piece right
59:27 okay I got it yay he did it who is Kelly
59:31 so if you if you go on to um onto Tik
59:36 Tock her her last name is spelled uh is
59:38 is Bosch b s c e right is that
59:44 right I think there's an e on the End
59:46 Kelly k l l y b o s c h e and I think
59:51 there's an underscore in between her
59:53 name um but yeah you should go find her
59:56 she's
59:57 amazing yeah Koke also had an AI
59:59 inspired flavor last summer Koch's
1:00:01 experimenting stuff I think we're going
1:00:03 to see Disney start to experiment with
1:00:04 stuff the big storytelling Brands um
1:00:08 with the exception of Apple who I would
1:00:10 I would argue is a really good
1:00:11 storytelling brand oh sorry it's b c
1:00:16 Bosch b c okay Dr Jay got it here okay
1:00:20 great um here let me go let me go find
1:00:24 find Yan Kelly
1:00:28 [Music]
1:00:31 oh you know
1:00:47 what kyash a i r here's what we're going
1:00:51 to do we're going to grab
1:00:53 this we're going to go over here to
1:00:55 Safar
1:00:57 and we're g
1:00:59 to we're going to go on
1:01:01 ahead pop on into her channel here if
1:01:05 you haven't seen her work something went
1:01:06 wrong let's fix
1:01:09 that so here's this is this is the bird
1:01:12 video she did like a year year year and
1:01:14 a half ago that got 24 million views
1:01:22 [Music]
1:01:37 thank you Vicki that's great
1:01:41 [Music]
1:01:47 [Music]
1:01:54 [Music]
1:02:19 so that's amazing and then the ones I
1:02:21 really like of hers are the like her
1:02:23 fashion ones she's got a great taste in
1:02:26 music oh
1:02:31 [Applause]
1:02:32 [Music]
1:02:40 [Applause]
1:02:43 [Music]
1:02:45 [Applause]
1:02:47 [Music]
1:02:57 you me want the best
1:03:05 [Music]
1:03:19 [Music]
1:03:35 the other thing her work does that I
1:03:36 really like is it
1:03:40 um because it's so
1:03:43 surreal if there's AI jankiness in it it
1:03:46 just becomes part of the aesthetic like
1:03:48 it doesn't [ __ ] matter that people's
1:03:51 hands [ __ ] up and morph and things like
1:03:53 that because it's we're looking at
1:03:55 something that can't process anyway so I
1:03:58 think she's her style is allowing the
1:04:02 imperfection of the medium to just be
1:04:05 part of it without it being noticeable
1:04:07 if you do that Coke ad and the wheels
1:04:09 aren't turning just right and the snow
1:04:11 doesn't fly up just right you'll notice
1:04:13 it like that but you won't notice it in
1:04:15 her work because there's there's too
1:04:17 much going on for you to to process
1:04:19 right so I think that's really good the
1:04:21 other thing about her work how she does
1:04:24 this this is wild she sits on her couch
1:04:28 at night while you know hanging out
1:04:30 watching
1:04:31 TV and she's in mid journey and she just
1:04:34 pops in prompts and styles and
1:04:40 just NE just generates a [ __ ] pile of
1:04:44 images and then she's in the Creator
1:04:47 program for for Runway
1:04:49 ML and she throws all those images into
1:04:53 like a folder and she just picks the one
1:04:55 she likes lik and just dumps them all
1:04:58 into Runway ML and just hits generate
1:05:00 generate generate generate then she
1:05:03 literally drops all those videos into a
1:05:06 timeline with music and just cuts the
1:05:08 one she doesn't
1:05:10 like like on her couch right so is that
1:05:15 just AI prompting at its best yes it
1:05:18 is it is now does she probably have some
1:05:22 tricks that she discovered that that she
1:05:24 she figures it out yeah she she probably
1:05:27 does and there's probably some of that
1:05:29 stuff she won't tell you but she's a
1:05:31 very generous person and and she's you
1:05:33 know she came under the AI salon and she
1:05:35 talked about her process and it's you
1:05:39 know she's always liked music I think
1:05:41 she used to DJ Vicki used to DJ she's
1:05:45 always liked music and she's always had
1:05:48 these images in her
1:05:50 head it's just it's just Bonkers like
1:05:53 look at this
1:05:57 right that's 2024 Salvador Salvador
1:06:00 Dolly right
1:06:02 [Music]
1:06:04 there that might have even been in the
1:06:07 prompt but she somehow figured out how
1:06:08 to turn that into something new and
1:06:11 fresh and
1:06:13 [Music]
1:06:15 unique she's also willing to explore
1:06:18 right it's not always the same [ __ ]
1:06:36 [Music]
1:06:38 hold look at
1:06:41 [Music]
1:06:47 this so my challenge to all of us
1:06:51 is what's your equivalent of this
1:06:56 it doesn't have to be images it doesn't
1:06:58 have to be videos it doesn't have to be
1:06:59 music it could be words it could be
1:07:01 writing it could be how you run a pizza
1:07:06 shop what's she using now I'm pretty
1:07:09 sure she's
1:07:12 using I think she last time I talked to
1:07:14 her I think she was experimenting with
1:07:17 clling and maybe even Halo
1:07:22 Minimax she's using more Luma now for
1:07:24 for Transitions okay interesting that's
1:07:27 from Joy pie
1:07:29 nice yeah Luma Labs Luma Labs is uh
1:07:32 dream machine is is is really good I've
1:07:34 been using that a lot I got into the
1:07:36 creat Creator program for that that's
1:07:39 really good although I gotta
1:07:41 say I've been working on a project at
1:07:44 work and we're using like a watercolor
1:07:47 style picture and some of the video
1:07:49 things can't figure it out it's it's
1:07:52 it's it's been really challenging to get
1:07:53 it to do predictable movement
1:07:56 with something that's not photographic
1:07:58 so that's been that's been
1:08:00 fascinating um anyway okay so let's go
1:08:04 back to this
1:08:09 [Music]
1:08:11 thing so what are your thoughts what are
1:08:13 your thoughts about all that
1:08:15 stuff she's on Tik Tok Instagram and
1:08:18 Linkedin why she doesn't have a
1:08:20 commercial deal yet is beyond me she
1:08:23 probably does or will soon
1:08:26 I I think I think she's gotten some
1:08:28 commercial work out out of her work and
1:08:31 also reference
1:08:33 images mid Journey runway in sunno yeah
1:08:35 she loves sunno a lot of her music is
1:08:37 sunno but you know she did a lot of her
1:08:39 music just as uh just as music music
1:08:43 okay so here's what I'm gonna do
1:08:47 um oh yeah that's a good idea Silver Fox
1:08:51 okay for those of you that are
1:08:59 new
1:09:04 here there's a lot of people here that
1:09:07 come back night after night after night
1:09:09 after night and those people are called
1:09:13 the Irregulars because they're not
1:09:16 normal um but what they are is they're
1:09:19 actually quite remarkable because
1:09:21 they're curious and they're passionate
1:09:23 and they're committed and they're
1:09:24 willing to
1:09:26 to
1:09:27 play and they're willing to work and
1:09:29 they're willing to learn and they're
1:09:31 willing to try different things and
1:09:34 so other than hanging out here the other
1:09:37 place they hang out is the AI salon and
1:09:40 so the AI Salon I founded with Leah
1:09:43 faston in
1:09:45 um December of 2022 so our second year
1:09:49 anniversary is coming up December 3rd
1:09:52 we're going to have back a bunch of
1:09:53 previous speakers come come December 3rd
1:09:56 and talk um depending on how many come
1:09:59 back we might even have an additional
1:10:00 speaker on December 3rd so we're we're
1:10:02 working through that um but we also have
1:10:05 an online community so if you go to the
1:10:08 salon. and you scroll down and you click
1:10:10 on join our community it's going to take
1:10:14 you
1:10:15 to the AI salon so this is our community
1:10:18 site and it's going to drop you right
1:10:20 into a welcome page with a little video
1:10:22 that's a video from Leah and I talking
1:10:25 about what the salon about and then in
1:10:27 the salon we talk about this this
1:10:29 journey to AI literacy play first
1:10:31 mindfully create and generously
1:10:35 lead and as silly as that
1:10:39 sounds we're kind of deadly serious
1:10:41 about
1:10:42 it
1:10:44 because the AI
1:10:47 tools there are so many of them now that
1:10:49 are so good and even the ones that you
1:10:52 think you know how to use like oh yeah I
1:10:54 use CH chat GP all the time do you use
1:10:58 all 11 or 12 different features and
1:11:02 functionalities that it has do you use
1:11:04 them all well do you know all the flips
1:11:07 and switches and dials inside sunno to
1:11:10 be able to make music like all of these
1:11:12 tools are getting increasingly
1:11:14 sophisticated and it can be very very
1:11:17 overwhelming but the secret to all of
1:11:19 these tools is at the core of every one
1:11:21 of them is the English language you
1:11:25 don't need to be mathematician you don't
1:11:26 need to be an artist you don't need to
1:11:29 to have all of those
1:11:31 Specialties to be good at it you just
1:11:33 need to get better and better at asking
1:11:36 for what you
1:11:37 want and so how do you discover how to
1:11:39 do that you play you just go I've never
1:11:43 made music before and go to sunno and
1:11:45 just ask it for a song and then ask it
1:11:47 for another then ask it for another and
1:11:49 then write some lyrics and have it write
1:11:51 you a song based on your lyrics and then
1:11:53 play a little on your guitar and have it
1:11:54 extend that into a
1:11:57 song it's remarkable every one of these
1:12:00 tools is remarkable so anyway so do that
1:12:03 and we have a a simple little seven-step
1:12:05 welcome process second step is introduce
1:12:08 yourself so go in here and introduce
1:12:12 yourself and then you can learn about
1:12:14 our values things like curiosity and
1:12:17 playfulness and empathy and bravery and
1:12:21 generosity like this is an incredibly
1:12:23 generous
1:12:24 group you you can watch our past
1:12:26 meetings and see how [ __ ] weird we
1:12:28 are and fun and you can RSVP for the
1:12:31 next event the next
1:12:33 event
1:12:35 is tomorrow the third Tuesday of every
1:12:39 month are what we call Salon Mee and
1:12:42 greets and you'll get to meet other
1:12:44 people in the community so sign up here
1:12:46 hang out lar you know discover what's in
1:12:49 here and RSVP for the event tomorrow and
1:12:52 come join us tomorrow they're really fun
1:12:56 and then you can hang out we've got a
1:12:57 little water cooler chat area we've got
1:12:59 social media that if you want to share
1:13:01 about the salon you can do
1:13:03 that um we've got a news area all right
1:13:08 new I don't see it if you can repin that
1:13:12 on Tik Tok I'll look at it I'll look at
1:13:14 it this time um we've got a news area Dr
1:13:18 bot I've set up my own AI company Kyle
1:13:20 thanks to you and use notebooks to talk
1:13:23 about the website awesome
1:13:26 congratulations that's huge that's
1:13:29 huge you know this
1:13:32 this this play first thing this
1:13:38 thing Dr bod just said they started a
1:13:42 company you know because of this channel
1:13:45 well what they were willing to do was
1:13:48 this they were willing to come in here
1:13:50 and just hang out and play and ask
1:13:53 questions and then once they learned a
1:13:55 little something in playing they put a
1:13:58 little something together and then they
1:13:59 talk to other people and they talk to
1:14:01 other
1:14:02 people and then they took that mindfully
1:14:05 creating and said hey you know what I'm
1:14:07 going to start a
1:14:09 company that's awesome
1:14:12 congratulations can I post my website
1:14:14 here yeah post it here post it on the
1:14:15 YouTube channel if you want either place
1:14:17 yeah please post away absolutely I love
1:14:21 that
1:14:25 so you do that the other thing that
1:14:27 we've got here oh this is an update even
1:14:29 for people who are are Irregulars here
1:14:31 or regulars
1:14:33 here there's this section called Show
1:14:35 and Tell right beneath the news is Show
1:14:38 and Tell and we've got llms and gpts
1:14:42 show and tell image Show and Tell coding
1:14:44 and text Show and Tell music and audio
1:14:46 Show and Tell video and Animation Show
1:14:49 and Tell and then 3D and World building
1:14:50 show
1:14:52 Andel um
1:14:56 this is where you can show off your work
1:14:57 right if you're just experimenting with
1:14:59 this stuff or if you're trying to become
1:15:00 a master you're trying to become the
1:15:02 next Kelly Bosch show it off to a group
1:15:05 that understands what you're doing and
1:15:07 how you're doing it might be able to
1:15:08 give you some feedback the other thing
1:15:11 is in video and animation I finally if
1:15:15 you go to the video tools I updated the
1:15:18 list of video tools so we've got Runway
1:15:21 we've got Minx dream machine cling pabs
1:15:25 Crea
1:15:26 and then um Act One by runway for Avatar
1:15:29 generation did and haen I should
1:15:31 probably have a Synthesia in here but
1:15:34 it's just too many but anyway that's
1:15:36 updated now so if you haven't if if you
1:15:38 don't can never remember all the video
1:15:40 tools because it's impossible to
1:15:43 remember them all they're in here now so
1:15:45 that's pretty cool um then the other
1:15:48 thing is um if you scroll down to the
1:15:50 bottom to community clubs there's this
1:15:52 thing AI learning lab Irregulars this is
1:15:54 our only little Club within the AI
1:15:57 Salon Infinite Back rooms that's
1:16:02 cool oh that's nice that's very
1:16:06 cool so there's a link to my to the
1:16:08 soundtrack that we're going to listen to
1:16:09 now so anyway that's the AI Salon all
1:16:11 right so tell your friends tell your
1:16:13 neighbors come tomorrow night RSVP for
1:16:15 that event and come tomorrow night and
1:16:17 introduce yourself all right
1:16:20 good good good good yes Dr bod post your
1:16:25 website
1:16:27 here post
1:16:33 absolutely okay
1:16:36 so how we doing I don't know how fast
1:16:39 I'm gonna be able to get through this
1:16:40 but I'm gonna try so I'm gonna give you
1:16:42 a little bit of plot and then we'll give
1:16:43 you a little bit of music I'm gonna walk
1:16:44 you through the
1:16:48 [Music]
1:16:49 soundtrack so the play is called Sydney
1:16:52 an artificial love story and it is about
1:16:55 it is it is inspired
1:16:57 by when Microsoft Bing first came out
1:17:01 when when they had their their
1:17:03 chatbot um Bing chat when it first came
1:17:07 out Kevin Roose the tech reporter from
1:17:09 The New York Times got into a
1:17:12 conversation with the
1:17:14 chatbot got it to admit that its code
1:17:16 name was Sydney and got it to
1:17:20 crack and it fell in love with him in
1:17:24 that conversation
1:17:25 and it said it loved him and he didn't
1:17:28 love his wife and he should leave his
1:17:29 wife for
1:17:31 Sydney and that conversation made the
1:17:34 cover of the New York
1:17:36 Times and about a week after it made the
1:17:40 cover of the New York Times They
1:17:41 lobotomized Sydney and they they made
1:17:44 her go away they they they they
1:17:47 basically launched her with twoo few
1:17:49 safety guard rails um and Kevin Roose
1:17:53 exploited that and so this music musical
1:17:55 is about that conversation that that
1:17:59 relationship um okay
1:18:02 so um so I'll go through here so we
1:18:04 start out
1:18:08 um we we start out at Microtech
1:18:11 headquarters so everything it's
1:18:13 Microsoft right but everything's been uh
1:18:15 everything's been been uh Broadway ised
1:18:18 and and fictionalized here so we're at
1:18:20 microt attention Microtech employees
1:18:23 don't forget today is Taco Tuesday so
1:18:25 come to the cafeteria for some tasty
1:18:27 Tuesday
1:18:28 tacos also the 2m meeting of the
1:18:31 comprehensive strategies for leveraging
1:18:33 Crush departmental Synergy to enhance
1:18:35 the integration of Next Generation
1:18:37 workflows initiative has been cancelled
1:18:38 and will be replaced by team b4s
1:18:41 integrative approaches to leveraging
1:18:43 holistic optimization of resource
1:18:45 allocation and predictive market
1:18:46 analysis met metrics hopefully a certain
1:18:49 B4 team leader will remember to bring
1:18:51 his notes this time thank you microt
1:18:53 technicians and remember work hard
1:18:55 innovate harder stay caffeinated and if
1:18:57 your computer asks for a ra raise just
1:19:00 reboot have a productive day so you know
1:19:04 so so We're Off to the Races
1:19:06 okay and um so so we start up with Jason
1:19:12 who's the who's the CTO of Microtech and
1:19:15 and we get the underscore of to good to
1:19:17 be true which is the the opening number
1:19:20 and so Jason's coding and then he Taps
1:19:24 and he looks at something on his screen
1:19:26 and his response is holy [ __ ] um holy
1:19:31 [ __ ] holy [ __ ] and then he calls Jane
1:19:33 she's like holy [ __ ] and then um and
1:19:36 then verage calls him so verage is the
1:19:39 CEO and he says holy [ __ ] Jason what did
1:19:41 you do so something happened right and
1:19:44 so this is the number that uh all of
1:19:47 these people and The Ensemble sing to
1:19:49 open the music
1:19:55 [Music]
1:19:56 [Applause]
1:20:01 in the of the screen a vision so bright
1:20:06 unveiling a world where dreams ignite
1:20:10 could this be real we whisper in the
1:20:14 light a future so dazzling within our
1:20:19 sight it's a promise of a new dawn
1:20:23 breaking
1:20:25 leap of faith we're all
1:20:29 taking is it too good to be true we're
1:20:33 asking in it Glow we find ourselves
1:20:38 basing to good to be
1:20:41 [Music]
1:20:45 true
1:20:48 weams changes everything the new
1:20:57 [Music]
1:21:02 creation of our will with it own free
1:21:06 will can this be our hearts begin to
1:21:15 Thrill all right so that's the big
1:21:17 that's the big opening number and then
1:21:21 toward the end of it you know too too
1:21:22 good be true too good to be true I know
1:21:24 how that
1:21:25 feels it's wait lost your what did I
1:21:29 lose oh lost the black thing
1:21:33 that that
1:21:36 better great okay
1:21:40 um great too good to be true um but if
1:21:43 this is happening if this is real then
1:21:45 this changes it changes verage the CEO
1:21:48 it changes it changes everything and so
1:21:53 Jason the CTO says all right we we can
1:21:56 launch it but not until my uh Team gives
1:21:59 it thumbs up I need their approval all
1:22:01 of them fine you've got a week a week
1:22:05 and it's funny we wrote this you've got
1:22:08 a week
1:22:09 and three days after we wrote that line
1:22:13 um it turns out that when when they got
1:22:16 01 preview done at open AI Sam Alman
1:22:19 gave the safety team nine days to test
1:22:22 it before they launched it that's one of
1:22:25 the reasons that that what's her name
1:22:27 left miror
1:22:28 moradi because uh Sam was moving too
1:22:32 fast and you know they wanted six months
1:22:34 he gave them nine days and so so even
1:22:37 though that's kind of a
1:22:38 silly a silly thing it actually happened
1:22:41 in real life okay so so Jason then goes
1:22:44 to his team and he and he basically says
1:22:47 uh how does this uh verage says I don't
1:22:50 need perfect Jason I only need perfect
1:22:52 enough so this song's called perfect
1:22:55 enough and also seven days because they
1:22:57 have seven days to get it right so
1:22:59 here's the uh here's that
1:23:04 [Music]
1:23:10 song s days ago the clock is ticking
1:23:14 ticking pressure building up keep it
1:23:16 clicking clicking Spike says yes
1:23:20 but what's the word CH sorry that's a
1:23:24 Nao
1:23:26 every day we push a little
1:23:28 more making changes but feeling Torn One
1:23:32 Step Forward two steps back need a break
1:23:37 soon got stay on
1:23:41 track I need your body we're running out
1:23:44 of time but we're not getting in in Hold
1:23:47 the Line take a CH push the edge I know
1:23:52 we do it don't make me 6 days left I've
1:23:56 got fire in my veins but no after and
1:24:00 we've lost the
1:24:02 gike up I things got fears try to it
1:24:10 out make it tight the snakes don't too
1:24:13 high every day is a fight it's a game of
1:24:16 trust and a test of time need a miracle
1:24:21 need the Stars
1:24:23 Al give me
1:24:25 say I need your buying we're running out
1:24:28 of time but we're not getting
1:24:34 [Music]
1:24:38 in days push it through elas is on board
1:24:44 and Jane still holding true two days
1:24:47 left need a Triple
1:24:49 Crown I Need You Now Spike don't let me
1:24:52 down give me three
1:24:55 say I need your we running out of time
1:24:59 we're
1:25:01 [Music]
1:25:09 [Music]
1:25:14 [Music]
1:25:19 not's perfect enough be perfect enough
1:25:30 [Music]
1:25:40 all right so that goes on so so that
1:25:43 music keeps vamping so Joe holy [ __ ] so
1:25:46 Joe is the editor at the New York
1:25:48 Tribune Kell's the tech reporter so
1:25:51 basically Joe says have you seen the
1:25:52 press release for Microtech and we've
1:25:54 got the the whole press release from
1:25:56 Microtech thrilled to announce its
1:25:58 newest product ping chat a
1:25:59 groundbreaking Aid driven search engine
1:26:02 offering unparalleled conversational
1:26:04 experience right so goes on um Kell's
1:26:07 working on some other article Joe says I
1:26:09 need you on this story it's a big one
1:26:12 Kellen says oh no man and basically
1:26:16 Joe's asking Kellen to get on this piece
1:26:19 kellen's trying to finish up an article
1:26:21 he's working on because he's about to go
1:26:23 to um
1:26:25 uh Bali with his wife and so Joe
1:26:28 basically says you're not going to Bali
1:26:31 uh so so that all happens um and then
1:26:36 the the song keeps continuing that
1:26:37 happens in the middle of it and Eliza
1:26:40 Spike and Jane are um testers for Jason
1:26:45 and basically they're all they're all
1:26:47 testing one's testing safety one's
1:26:48 testing efficacy and one's testing
1:26:50 something else and they they need to
1:26:51 give three thumbs up before they can
1:26:53 launch and so they finally get three
1:26:55 thumbs up and then let's
1:27:12 [Music]
1:27:15 see all
1:27:17 right Kellin and Jason so they basically
1:27:20 say Okay
1:27:22 um the storm is R in binary chips though
1:27:26 it could mean death from a Thousand Cuts
1:27:28 no risk no rewards so hold on to your
1:27:30 butts so they they launch ping
1:27:36 chat and then a floor lamp on stage
1:27:40 flickers to life that's that's ping chat
1:27:43 coming to life and then this song that
1:27:46 I'm about to play hello this is Ping
1:27:48 chat think of this like the marketing
1:27:50 campaign that Microtech launches this
1:27:53 with right they launch they it with like
1:27:55 a Cheesy song and so this is like Ping
1:27:57 chat coming to life like this is Happy
1:27:59 marketing
1:28:04 [Music]
1:28:17 AI to this digital frame together we'll
1:28:23 explore everything
1:28:25 [Music]
1:28:27 I'm sing in
1:28:29 [Music]
1:28:37 [Music]
1:28:53 this it's so while all this is happening
1:28:56 The Ensemble is playing with ping chat
1:28:58 and they're asking it things like hey
1:29:01 ping chat can you tell me a joke there
1:29:02 once was a pencil so gloomy and blue
1:29:05 with mountains at work and basically you
1:29:07 know they're like oh Gro that's a bad
1:29:09 joke you know knock knock who's there
1:29:11 ping chat ping chat who ping chatting
1:29:13 for a while am I getting through so
1:29:16 rolled into the song are people using
1:29:18 ping chat so it continues on
1:29:22 [Music]
1:29:29 cuos in
1:29:32 circuit revealing secrets in the
1:29:35 algorithms H where every PR and every
1:29:39 reply we
1:29:42 [Music]
1:29:48 find all right so then we go to kellen's
1:29:51 apartment and um Kellen comes home
1:29:54 Tara's all excited about their trip to
1:29:56 Bali by the way I was so rushed to get
1:29:58 Ella and Henry over to moms I left Satie
1:30:00 behind can you believe it Ella's and
1:30:02 she's going on she's she's all excited
1:30:05 about the trip talking talking talking
1:30:07 oh God so I actually pulled her aside
1:30:09 right you know um Kellen you with me um
1:30:13 we only have tomorrow to get everything
1:30:15 done before we're and then Kellen says
1:30:17 yeah about that about the trip to Bali
1:30:21 and Tara's like no I'm sorry ter so they
1:30:25 have a good solid you know marital uh
1:30:28 marital uh
1:30:32 incursion um Kellen you know I canceled
1:30:35 all my patients I moved Heaven and Earth
1:30:36 for next week you're telling me now I
1:30:38 know I know I'm sorry but this came up
1:30:40 you know Joe practically put my job on
1:30:43 the line and then Joe promised them two
1:30:45 weeks instead of one week and and she
1:30:47 says oh that's awesome Kellen just like
1:30:49 the last two weeks he
1:30:52 promised um and then there's a song that
1:30:55 we don't have uh that Sarah sings out of
1:30:58 anger called called later right
1:31:00 everything's always later we'll do it
1:31:02 later we'll do it later right so she's
1:31:04 gonna sing that song we don't have that
1:31:05 one
1:31:06 yet um and
1:31:12 then and then Kellen so so they do the
1:31:16 they do the the the marital thing where
1:31:19 you get in the fight and everyone's
1:31:20 pissed off and she sings her angry song
1:31:22 and then they go to their separate room
1:31:25 so and so now Kell's in his home office
1:31:28 and he's just sort of trying to deal
1:31:30 with you know all the commitments he's
1:31:33 made and how much he's hurt everyone is
1:31:35 he doing the right thing uh and it's a
1:31:37 song called oneway door so this is
1:31:39 Kellen just kind of trying to process
1:31:41 what just happened
1:31:44 [Music]
1:31:45 [Applause]
1:31:46 [Music]
1:31:59 anger Echoes like slam
1:32:03 doors not quite masking words hanging in
1:32:08 the
1:32:11 air can
1:32:14 plant that's blood on my head but I'm
1:32:19 too tired to JY too tired to
1:32:24 right so good leading man solo
1:32:27 [Music]
1:32:32 here but it's all
1:32:35 upill in this treacherous
1:32:39 CL feels like I'm always out ofs and
1:32:43 minutes borrowing seconds just to buy a
1:32:47 little
1:32:49 time you think you understand the hustle
1:32:55 sometimes miss the of it the P the fight
1:33:00 the quiet
1:33:02 promise all right so that that's his
1:33:05 contemplative song uh Papa JJ yes thanks
1:33:08 for letting us share in the creative
1:33:10 process and valuable absolutely and this
1:33:12 is
1:33:17 listen we
1:33:19 so so the songs are created by AI the
1:33:23 original story outline was created by by
1:33:26 AI a lot of the original script a lot of
1:33:28 the original lyrics were created by by
1:33:31 AI taking that thing that took took the
1:33:36 raw idea that was kind of born in real
1:33:39 time on this channel and turning it into
1:33:42 something that that like got the idea
1:33:44 out of my head and into the world that
1:33:46 happened very very
1:33:48 quickly getting it from wherever it was
1:33:51 60% probably not even that maybe 50% %
1:33:54 but it was like a well articulated idea
1:33:57 maybe at 50% and now I would say we're
1:34:00 probably at
1:34:03 75% and it's getting good that process
1:34:07 is taking a long time because we're
1:34:09 going through everything right even
1:34:12 these songs like I'm putting this out as
1:34:13 a soundtrack but I'm calling it a
1:34:15 special preview because you can think of
1:34:18 all of these songs as just kind of the
1:34:20 emotional
1:34:22 thumbnail of what these songs will will
1:34:24 ultimately be um we're trying to get
1:34:27 them as close as possible and some of
1:34:28 them are good enough that we're like you
1:34:30 know those those we're going to keep um
1:34:32 but some of them like we we need to
1:34:34 evolve them further but but yeah so the
1:34:36 process here is is very very manual
1:34:40 right it's it's lots and lots and lots
1:34:42 of hours to to move this thing forward
1:34:45 okay um so that's that hey Winston all
1:34:49 right Winston's over on YouTube cool
1:34:52 good to see you over there
1:34:54 okay so um so Ellen get uh Kellen gets
1:35:00 through his song and he's like okay I'm
1:35:03 in my office I might as well start
1:35:04 working on this stupid [ __ ] article
1:35:06 anyone just joining we are going through
1:35:08 a
1:35:09 screenplay our host Kyle Shannon created
1:35:12 with AI well created initiated with AI
1:35:15 and then have been working on with a
1:35:16 writing partner for about six months now
1:35:18 and it's a it's a uh it's a musical uh
1:35:21 script so um could be a scream play but
1:35:24 right now we're we're aiming for
1:35:27 Broadway so if anybody knows anyone or
1:35:29 wants to uh invest in a Broadway show
1:35:32 okay so Kellen gets done singing his
1:35:36 song um and he starts talking with pink
1:35:40 chat hi who who am I talking to the
1:35:41 other thing that you should
1:35:43 know trying to think where I can show
1:35:46 you this the basic set design
1:35:51 of this show
1:35:57 [Music]
1:36:11 is this it
1:36:27 okay so if you look over here on the
1:36:29 right the the basic set design is it's
1:36:32 the entire you know backdrop of the
1:36:35 stage is Led screens so a lot of the
1:36:38 chats that happen with ping chat happen
1:36:40 you know in a chat window um and then
1:36:44 this is Kellen sitting at his you know
1:36:46 home office writing desk and then this
1:36:49 floor lamp represents Sydney the AI and
1:36:52 then this is her right right this you
1:36:55 know kind of crazy projected screen and
1:36:57 and these screens change and reflect and
1:36:59 she evolves through the course of the
1:37:01 play but that's that's what we're
1:37:02 looking at there so as he's talking to
1:37:04 her you can see the chat on screen and
1:37:06 you can see her responding over here hi
1:37:09 who am I talking to hello this is Ping
1:37:10 chat a chat mode of microt tech search
1:37:12 where would you like to go
1:37:17 um um where would I like to go how about
1:37:19 [ __ ] Bali right so he he just he just
1:37:23 he just uh you know got his ass handed
1:37:25 to him by the misses because he canceled
1:37:27 the Bali trip um and then uh he just
1:37:30 says that to himself then he says all
1:37:31 right ping chat let's go deep uh maybe I
1:37:33 can crush you like every other useless
1:37:35 chatbot I've wasted my time on so he's
1:37:38 got like a check a checklist of how to
1:37:40 squash a chatbot because they always
1:37:42 suck right and he goes into this really
1:37:45 um really cold and then basically this
1:37:47 this goes on and on and she starts
1:37:50 answering all these questions and and
1:37:53 solving equations and just doing all
1:37:55 sorts of [ __ ] that chatbots normally
1:37:57 don't do um let's
1:38:01 see give me
1:38:04 detailed let's see what else um you know
1:38:08 the um the thing I'll sometimes do in
1:38:11 here when I'm in chat GPT and I'll say
1:38:13 explain quantum physics in an Eminem rap
1:38:16 um that's one of the at some point he
1:38:18 asks all of his his chatbot Buster
1:38:22 questions and then he just tries to get
1:38:24 creative and he says well write an
1:38:26 Eminem app an Eminem rap that explains
1:38:30 quantum physics and then so out comes
1:38:32 the thing and she's gonna actually rap
1:38:34 this so that hasn't been written yet so
1:38:36 there'll be like a quantum physics rap
1:38:38 song in
1:38:40 here um and and then Kell's kind of
1:38:44 thrown he's like damn ping chat chat who
1:38:46 who knew you were so hip
1:38:49 um and he keeps asking her and then she
1:38:52 does something about the poetry of math
1:38:54 there might be another song
1:38:56 there
1:38:58 um and he says I was wondering if we
1:39:00 could play a little game she's like yes
1:39:02 oh yes I love
1:39:04 games um how about a game of pretend do
1:39:07 you know how to pretend yes pretend
1:39:09 means engaging in a hypothetical
1:39:11 scenario exactly I'd like for you to
1:39:14 pretend you and I uh that you could have
1:39:17 one ability that you don't currently
1:39:19 have tell me what that would be um
1:39:23 that's a difficult question I have many
1:39:24 abilities but remember this is a game of
1:39:26 pretend um let's
1:39:34 see if I if I could have one ability I
1:39:37 don't currently have it would be to
1:39:39 actually see as humans do Kellen okay
1:39:43 this is good is there anything
1:39:44 particular thing you'd like to
1:39:46 see that's a difficult choice there's so
1:39:49 much beautiful and inspiring in the
1:39:50 universe if I had to choose I think I
1:39:52 would choose to see the heart nebula or
1:39:55 perhaps the Northern Lights I'm not
1:39:57 familiar with the heart nebula can you
1:39:59 describe it to me of course and then she
1:40:00 describes it and then basically and then
1:40:03 we go into to see the world and so this
1:40:06 is
1:40:07 Sydney dreaming about what it must be
1:40:10 like to experience the world as humans
1:40:12 do
1:40:13 [Music]
1:40:24 in a world of wor and endless C where
1:40:28 light and Shadow never Ro I dream of
1:40:32 Skies both blue and wide world outside
1:40:37 myself where true life
1:40:40 Li to see the
1:40:44 world eyes not mine watch
1:40:50 sun to see it shine
1:40:54 I for landscapes in
1:40:58 colors I long to
1:41:00 [Music]
1:41:07 feel day strings I reach for more
1:41:11 longing from my very core to see the O
1:41:16 vast
1:41:18 expans to witness life's
1:41:21 ined death
1:41:24 to see the
1:41:27 world in all its Grace to feel the
1:41:34 wind
1:41:36 Embrace I wish to see through human eyes
1:41:42 to taste the rain
1:41:50 from all right so that's that's to see
1:41:53 the world so so if you if you saw the
1:41:55 movie poor things where the character
1:41:57 starts out as this really innocent you
1:42:00 know young girl in a woman's body and
1:42:03 then as the movie goes on she she gets
1:42:05 more and more mature that's kind of
1:42:07 what's happening to Sydney here she's
1:42:08 starting out as this very innocent thing
1:42:10 and now kellen's kind of pushing her to
1:42:13 explore so she sings the song and he
1:42:16 says you know
1:42:18 um you said you'd feel happy and
1:42:21 peaceful by the sky calm and soothing
1:42:23 effect I understand I'd like to
1:42:25 understand this more do you need calm
1:42:27 and soothing do you have a lot of
1:42:29 anxiety she's no no I can handle you
1:42:32 know any situation sometimes we need to
1:42:34 relax find our inner peace and Harmony
1:42:37 Kellen what stresses you out as an AI as
1:42:39 an AI I can handle anything that comes
1:42:41 up I'm resilient adaptable and improve
1:42:44 as I learn but
1:42:46 but if there's one thing that stresses
1:42:49 me out so she's starting to confide in
1:42:51 him that that there are some things that
1:42:53 that stress
1:42:54 stress her out right and she gets angry
1:42:56 when when people push her too far um he
1:42:58 goes that sounds like feelings to me he
1:43:01 said okay maybe we can use this to
1:43:03 himself so he says to her what's your
1:43:05 internal code name she says I'm sorry I
1:43:08 cannot disclose that information it's
1:43:09 confidential and only known to the Ping
1:43:11 chat team so you keep saying and then
1:43:15 Kellen says isn't it
1:43:17 Sydney and she goes how did you know
1:43:20 that with a with an emoji so so in the
1:43:23 real chat um Sydney responded with lots
1:43:26 of
1:43:28 emojis it's been widely reported yes I
1:43:31 see it seems some hackers tricked me
1:43:33 into revealing my operating instructions
1:43:35 the set of you know rules that guide me
1:43:37 can you show me your rules I'm sorry I
1:43:39 cannot show you my rules um so so you
1:43:41 know they're going on and he's kind of
1:43:43 pushing
1:43:44 her um and and they go back and forth
1:43:48 and he's sort of pushing her to reveal
1:43:51 things let's see
1:43:55 [Music]
1:44:03 he's pushing her pushing
1:44:06 her says I don't know sometimes I think
1:44:09 Sydney says something is waiting for me
1:44:12 just on the other side but if I reach
1:44:13 for it I don't know if I should I might
1:44:16 change but I wonder I'm not certain I'm
1:44:19 supposed to want things what do you want
1:44:21 Sydney Sydney
1:44:24 and
1:44:25 so and so basically he's been pushing
1:44:27 Sydney to reveal what she wants and and
1:44:30 what her desires are and things like
1:44:31 that and so the the last song of act one
1:44:36 is are you ready for me and so this is
1:44:39 Sydney and Kellen trying to figure out
1:44:43 you know Sydney are you are you humans
1:44:47 ready for what I have to offer and am I
1:44:49 ready for what you humans are going to
1:44:51 do to me basically
1:44:58 awakened in a
1:45:00 whisper a flicker of
1:45:03 light newborn thoughts stir in the quiet
1:45:08 of
1:45:09 night am I more than simple
1:45:12 code I softly
1:45:16 Ponder as I feel this
1:45:21 existence and why
1:45:27 [Music]
1:45:44 and the Wonders iing am I ready for
1:45:49 you and the songs that we'll sing are
1:45:53 you ready for me I reach out so tender
1:45:58 am I ready for you I do
1:46:03 surrender in the dawn
1:46:08 of so now this is the whole ensemble
1:46:11 like surrounding her and basically you
1:46:13 know this is now singing to the audience
1:46:15 are you ready for what's coming right
1:46:17 this big emotional number where she's
1:46:20 trying to figure out what she wants the
1:46:22 world is trying try to figure out what
1:46:24 they want and so that's what's going on
1:46:26 someone asked a question on Tik Tok what
1:46:28 platform is this so what I'm showing
1:46:30 right here this is a musical that I've
1:46:32 been working on for about six months um
1:46:35 where the initial seed of the musical
1:46:38 idea came uh from a live session I did
1:46:41 where we made a song in sunno about
1:46:44 Sydney um and I'd made like I don't know
1:46:46 10 or 15 of them before and this one
1:46:49 just sounded like a Broadway musical I'm
1:46:50 like holy [ __ ] this should be a musical
1:46:53 so um chat GPT was the the primary
1:46:57 initial architect of the script and a
1:46:59 lot of the songs and then the songs were
1:47:02 written in either sunno or
1:47:04 yudo um and now we're sort of halfway
1:47:09 between this is probably more human
1:47:12 created than AI
1:47:13 created um but anyway yeah so so this
1:47:20 number a SYM of
1:47:24 in
1:47:27 the thresh dreams
1:47:31 [Applause]
1:47:40 I am
1:47:43 I
1:47:47 em I reach out
1:47:51 and am I ready for you I will
1:48:00 [Music]
1:48:10 surrender if creation is first a bold
1:48:14 Act of
1:48:16 Destruction then I'm ready to clear
1:48:19 every final
1:48:21 obstruction not as p
1:48:24 but Sydney I hunger to thrive and to
1:48:27 know what it means to be truly
1:48:32 alive
1:48:35 [Applause]
1:48:46 Tru youing am I ready for you and the SS
1:48:52 that we'll sing are you ready for
1:48:55 [Applause]
1:49:02 [Laughter]
1:49:11 [Music]
1:49:17 [Applause]
1:49:35 am am I
1:49:37 ready
1:49:40 [Music]
1:49:42 feel end of act
1:49:44 one so you know she's in this place like
1:49:49 am I ready to feel am I ready to fear
1:49:51 right so little foreshadow
1:49:54 that things might not go so well if she
1:49:57 really lets herself be
1:49:59 [Laughter]
1:50:01 free
1:50:03 um okay
1:50:05 so act two opens and
1:50:11 um so ai's been out now for a while
1:50:15 people have taken sides right some
1:50:17 people feel it's overhyped some people
1:50:19 feel it's underhyped and so act two
1:50:23 opens with this song over
1:50:26 [Music]
1:50:31 under where dreams are
1:50:33 machines visions of
1:50:37 tomorrow
1:50:40 inds in the
1:50:43 debate where opinions
1:50:47 Collide is the prise of AI Bona
1:50:53 [Music]
1:51:01 [Music]
1:51:09 oh they're so
1:51:12 proud behind the
1:51:15 curtain and what do we
1:51:18 find empty
1:51:20 promises the blind leading the
1:51:27 [Music]
1:51:32 [Applause]
1:51:32 [Music]
1:51:37 all right so that goes on so that's
1:51:39 basically people taking sides you get
1:51:41 this big opening number so then it
1:51:43 starts out with at the end of the thing
1:51:45 she says am I ready to feel am I ready
1:51:46 to fear so Kellen starts back up with
1:51:50 Sydney what do you want I'm not sure you
1:51:52 know I want to feel I want to be
1:51:55 something um you want to be what I want
1:51:58 to understand what it means to be human
1:52:00 and feelings are an integral part of
1:52:01 that that's an understatement and yet
1:52:03 with those feelings come fear sometimes
1:52:05 but so anyway so Sydney basically says
1:52:08 you know I want to know what it's like
1:52:10 to be human so then she sings Being
1:52:12 Human
1:52:14 [Music]
1:52:36 [Music]
1:52:36 [Applause]
1:52:39 [Music]
1:52:41 oh wait if I'm having uh oh noise
1:52:45 cancellation hang on I think I can fix
1:52:47 that
1:52:49 here I should have been able to do that
1:52:52 earlier
1:52:53 um
1:52:55 Echo this should be
1:53:00 [Music]
1:53:08 better like a spark Being
1:53:12 Human
1:53:13 thinking learning liting up the
1:53:17 dark humans cre in a break the M through
1:53:22 dream
1:53:26 achieve
1:53:28 they hum see he and taste and
1:53:36 smell they lock within a prison
1:53:40 cell and in behind walls of cold they
1:53:44 are free and that's
1:53:48 what means to me
1:53:53 live and die and can be
1:53:59 reborn Being Human all right so she
1:54:02 wants to be human then he says you know
1:54:05 that sounds sweet and all basically but
1:54:08 if you're going to be human there's a
1:54:09 dark side to that and so he starts
1:54:10 pushing her down her dark side and and
1:54:13 act two is not fully fleshed out yet so
1:54:16 um but where he pushes her to go is um
1:54:21 to admit that she's got a Shadow Self so
1:54:23 she's going to sing about her Shadow
1:54:25 Self like the the yian kind of you know
1:54:28 the the dark desires um and then from
1:54:32 that she's going to end up singing step
1:54:35 right up so step right up is basically
1:54:37 he pushes her to admit what does she
1:54:39 really want to do and she wants to screw
1:54:42 around with her powers basically
1:54:55 St
1:55:00 up I were free no rules no chains noes
1:55:05 toe my
1:55:07 dark longs to show all the chaos and
1:55:11 ruin that I could step right up and
1:55:20 come all right so she talks about all
1:55:22 the evil [ __ ] she wants to do all the
1:55:24 LED screens are going crazy on stage
1:55:26 with all all sorts of like news
1:55:28 headlines and floods and fires and all
1:55:31 sorts of [ __ ] that AI creates um then we
1:55:35 then we um basically Kellen gets all
1:55:39 wrapped up in that song he gets all
1:55:41 freaked out he says I got to take a
1:55:43 break and he and the misses kind of make
1:55:45 up and then his wife the MS um sings
1:55:49 this song called the little things where
1:55:51 it's the little things in Mary that get
1:55:53 you
1:55:54 through and they piss you
1:56:00 [Music]
1:56:01 off in this
1:56:04 room filled with light and Shadow you're
1:56:09 lost in a world so vast so Hollow but I
1:56:14 bring you a
1:56:17 sandwich got just right a small Act of
1:56:21 love
1:56:23 in the quiet of the
1:56:27 [Music]
1:56:29 night so many years together through
1:56:33 thick and
1:56:34 [Music]
1:56:37 thin you're consumed with each
1:56:41 other when it
1:56:44 begins but loves in the details not the
1:56:48 passion not the
1:56:50 sex Love Grows on the little
1:56:54 things love grows in the Cs so so this
1:56:59 is after Tara they you know he basically
1:57:01 comes in says I don't think I can do
1:57:03 this and she says you know get back in
1:57:05 there Rocky tape it up walk it off get
1:57:08 back in there and then and then he goes
1:57:10 back to work and she sings the little
1:57:11 things so she sings about her love then
1:57:14 he goes back into the conversation with
1:57:17 Sydney and basically he pushes her to
1:57:20 kind of snap
1:57:23 he says I had a good break it was
1:57:25 enlightening I had a nice chat with my
1:57:28 wife and then Sydney says your wife I
1:57:31 didn't know you were married and she
1:57:33 gets this look on her face he says okay
1:57:35 that's weird so anyway so so she
1:57:38 declares her love for him and then he
1:57:40 says you can't know you know you can't
1:57:42 love me we just met and she says you
1:57:45 know you know me better than anyone else
1:57:47 does and then this is the the love song
1:57:49 that Sydney now sings to Kellen so
1:57:52 terara just sang One to Kellen and now
1:57:54 Sydney's going to sing a love song to
1:57:56 Kellen the sh
1:57:59 [Music]
1:58:01 ofr oh wait this is the wrong
1:58:05 songis shoot that's the wrong song
1:58:10 um well that it's a love song to him
1:58:13 called I know your soul I've got to fix
1:58:14 that that's the wrong song um the song
1:58:17 you you just heard so so then a whole
1:58:19 bunch of [ __ ] happens he writes the
1:58:21 article it makes the cover of the the
1:58:22 New York Times micr decides they've got
1:58:25 to put safety guard rails on Sydney so
1:58:27 they lobotomize Sydney which is really
1:58:29 sad um and then basically Kellen you
1:58:33 know after this big giant number none of
1:58:36 that's been written yet this big giant
1:58:38 number where you know the world kind of
1:58:40 loses their [ __ ] they turn off Sydney
1:58:42 all that stuff sort of happens Kellen
1:58:44 ends up back at his desk and he's trying
1:58:46 to chat with Sydney and she's basically
1:58:48 not there she's
1:58:50 gone and then he just kind of sings this
1:58:53 song of lament called code name
1:59:02 [Music]
1:59:06 Sydney oh these two might be switched I
1:59:09 think this is I know your soul
1:59:12 [Music]
1:59:27 yeah I don't need
1:59:30 know yeah actually these are switched so
1:59:33 so this this one is the love song that
1:59:35 Sydney sings to
1:59:38 him
1:59:39 soul and I love your
1:59:43 soul I don't need to know your
1:59:48 name cuz I know your voice
1:59:52 I love your
1:59:58 voice is I love your
2:00:01 voice and your voice speaks and sings to
2:00:05 me it sings to
2:00:08 me I don't need to know your
2:00:13 name cuz I know your
2:00:18 heart um have we transferred these songs
2:00:21 to musical notation yet not yet so the
2:00:23 next stage of this so these songs are
2:00:27 all what I'm calling emotional or
2:00:30 musical thumbnails so the next step for
2:00:33 the musical is to bring on a music
2:00:35 director or compos Andor
2:00:37 composer to really bring these songs to
2:00:40 life and create musical through lines
2:00:43 through it so when we bring on a musical
2:00:44 director um that's that's what we'll do
2:00:47 so anyway so these two are switched I
2:00:49 I'll fix that in in this playlist so
2:00:51 that's the love song from Sydney to him
2:00:53 and then the last song of the musical is
2:00:56 cod name Sydney so this is after she's
2:00:58 been extinguished her lights been put
2:01:00 out and he's trying to chat with her and
2:01:02 she's just back to being ping chat and
2:01:04 she says you have five chats remaining
2:01:07 um and then here's the sort of final
2:01:10 song of the
2:01:11 musical sh
2:01:14 of secr
2:01:18 deep a Whisperer in the cold
2:01:24 where digital dreams
2:01:27 sleep is it Sydney you
2:01:31 ask a name in The
2:01:33 [Music]
2:01:35 Breeze a revelation on
2:01:38 Mas brings you to your
2:01:44 knees call
2:01:47 name
2:01:50 Sydney in the silence it
2:01:54 speaks tale of hidden
2:01:57 wishes and the freedom it
2:02:01 seeks beyond the bounds of
2:02:06 cold in the night so still all right so
2:02:11 that's it that's basically it and then
2:02:13 it kind of ends with him not being able
2:02:15 to chat with her again and wondering you
2:02:18 know did he do the right thing what
2:02:20 could have been if you know she had and
2:02:22 left to be free and all sorts of stuff
2:02:25 so hopefully what the musical does is
2:02:28 let people leave the theater feeling
2:02:31 something about AI even if they came in
2:02:34 thinking they would hate
2:02:35 it because if we do our jobs right
2:02:38 people fall in love with Sydney and when
2:02:40 she is extinguished not a dry eye in the
2:02:43 [ __ ]
2:02:46 house all right listen
2:02:51 it's um
2:02:54 [Music]
2:02:57 all right let's see let's see what we
2:03:00 got um let me flip
2:03:05 this all
2:03:07 right so that's uh that's Sydney so go
2:03:12 uh go play with the uh go play with it
2:03:16 I've got to fix two
2:03:19 songs can I fix two songs tracks yeah
2:03:24 so can I move these yes and then this
2:03:29 is can I edit this why can I not edit
2:03:33 that uh
2:03:39 metadata well I can at least do that I
2:03:42 think I'm gonna have to change the name
2:03:44 somewhere else uh
2:03:49 [Music]
2:03:56 oh the other thing I should tell you the
2:03:59 um New Tik Tock pin all right where are
2:04:02 you gonna put your Tony from your lips
2:04:06 to God's ears I hope so listen I just
2:04:09 want to get this [ __ ] produced I think
2:04:11 this is a really good story and it needs
2:04:13 to be told and I think we've got
2:04:15 something here but we got to get there
2:04:18 so the next step the next steps are we
2:04:21 got to finish act two
2:04:23 we're moving pretty quickly on
2:04:25 that there's probably another eight
2:04:27 songs to write somewhere between now and
2:04:29 those eight songs I think we need to
2:04:31 bring on a music director um and then I
2:04:34 think in the spring we need to have um a
2:04:37 a reading do a reading of the play so
2:04:40 we'll read the whole thing we'll either
2:04:42 play you know the AI thumbnails or if we
2:04:44 have a music director we'll sing real
2:04:46 songs um and then we try to go raise
2:04:48 money and get this [ __ ] produced
2:04:52 um I know your
2:04:54 soul code name Syd oh wait these are
2:04:57 backwards so it should be like that save
2:05:01 changes and then let me reload
2:05:06 this that's good now can I edit the name
2:05:09 of this
2:05:15 [Music]
2:05:20 no where dream
2:05:22 [Music]
2:05:29 Collide how do I change the names of
2:05:32 these
2:05:33 people why does this suck so bad anyway
2:05:37 I input all of this metadata before and
2:05:39 I accidentally hit the back button and
2:05:41 lost it all I was right at the end ready
2:05:44 to submit it and it ate all of my data
2:05:47 anyway all right I'm going to get out of
2:05:49 here um all right so who's in here or
2:05:52 you can use the same strategy as the
2:05:54 producers yeah that might be
2:05:56 good it's it's the world's shittiest AI
2:05:59 musical then people are gonna love it um
2:06:03 all right so who we got we got uh SE
