38. 9:48we live in I don't know but I can tell you this the people with critical thinking skills the ones that like

124. 29:45good right I'll edit it later but it's this is solid and then I go into edit it and I start reading it and like within
125. 29:52the first paragraph there's three points the same point is made three times in slightly different sentences and I'm
126. 29:59like oh [ __ ] this isn't even a paragraph This is a sentence and then I'll chop that up and then like basically I find
127. 30:07myself editing the entire [ __ ] thing like rewriting it it would probably be faster to just write it but I wouldn't just write that first

146. 33:45and just vomit them onto the internet yes is that garbage yes but the guy that spoke at the last AI Salon Jason Al en he's the one I
147. 33:58don't know if you remember a couple of years back he entered an art contest at the Colorado State Fair and he won
148. 34:09it and the piece that he entered with was AI generated art and the art community lost their ever [ __ ] mind
149. 34:20they just lost their [ __ ] he got death threats you know how many prompts he submitted before he got that
150. 34:35piece 684 he had spent years thinking about this concept of a Space Opera where people are in these big
151. 34:46spaceports and they're wearing these big helmets and he never he could never figure out a way to realize it and when he stumbled upon AI he
152. 34:55thought oh maybe I can play with my Space Opera thing so this is a concept he'd had for like a decade and 684 prompts later and if
153. 35:06you're using mid Journey that's four Images each so what is that almost 3,000 no 684 6 * 4 is 24 2500 2600 2600

166. 37:51logic you probably shouldn't be able to do things like mirror the the brush stroke you know you can draw one thing

168. 38:13lines it's just a it's just a a painfully limited view that basically ignores the future like this [ __ ] isn't coming like
169. 38:26like honest to God I mean they kind of own the drawing Market on the iPad and all these other tools are
170. 38:33going to start adding AI features where so so here's the thing imagine if I had procreate and sitting underneath it was
171. 38:43a drawing module an AI module where I could draw with my shitty drawing skills and it would be AI interpreting and make
172. 38:51it look like I could actually draw so I'm still drawing but it like amplifies my talent which in the case of drawing
173. 38:58is quite limited dramatically limited nope that's not going to be there it's this attitude of like if you
174. 39:10say AI art what people hear is oh you just push a button and it makes the art that's not art um by that logic procreate should not
175. 39:28allow you to import an image from a digital camera because I don't know if you've used digital cameras but they um I got mine
176. 39:38right there it's buried under [ __ ] I don't know if you know this about digital cameras they have a single button that
177. 39:46when you push it it makes a picture I mean it's not exactly [ __ ] art so apparently Pro creates going to be disabling import from

179. 40:21that are embracing AI are really [ __ ] good artists and they're their their level of what they achieve with AI is like significantly beyond
180. 40:34what us normies do because they've got taste so they can take the tools and they can think critically where do I use
181. 40:43Photoshop where do I use my hand drawing skills where do I use my 3D rendering skills where do I use AI where where do
182. 40:50I take the knowledge of the 17 [ __ ] AI image generation tools and know the subtlety of them well enough to
183. 40:58understand which one I'm going to use to get the effect I'm looking for in this particular piece of art that's all
184. 41:04intentional human interaction human input Worth to try to take a pencil sketch and let mid Journey use it as a c yeah

189. 42:04procreate you come up with some amazing [ __ ] image wouldn't it be nice to be able to do a re a relight within there just like

491. 1:41:14up in his face but we we are we are now in a world where you know maj major organizations let's just call it a major organization major
492. 1:41:27organizations um are going to be using these tools in in some cases for things that are just fine so for
493. 1:41:36example um McDonald's Japan put this out today

496. 1:42:29major McDonald's commercial out of Japan from an agency over there all AI generated right little 4 second Clips
497. 1:42:41right so using the same ship we can use but they obviously trained it to get you know McDonald's branding in there [Music]
498. 1:42:55now what I don't know is you know is that Roto is is that composited in after it might be it looks like it's got some
499. 1:43:04weird edges on it so and this is clearly composited after the fact so they're doing some traditional you know some
500. 1:43:12traditional compositing there but it's just it's just good editing right so we're going to see we're going
501. 1:43:18to see more and more stuff where it's going to be increasingly indistinguishable from reality um what else was I going to show I was

528. 1:50:03the group curious Refuge that spoke at the AI Salon they're doing some interesting movie making courses cuz that's a really
529. 1:50:11complicated if you're not a filmmaker there's a lot to making AI generated films that don't suck you still have to an editor and a
530. 1:50:24and a filmmaker Storyteller so if you want to do something sophisticated like that curious Refuge might be interesting
531. 1:50:35um if you want to learn how AI works and the underpinnings of it and you're good at math and geeky [ __ ] the MIT and uh
532. 1:50:45Stamford courses on AI might be interesting if you're just trying to get your head around what's going on right
533. 1:50:57now I wouldn't recommend a course I would recommend hanging out in a group like the AI salon and go to the guild
534. 1:51:05meetings and you know figure out what people are talking about here and connect with them and you know here let me show you something
535. 1:51:13um and I got to get out of here if you go to the AI Salon we've got this six-step little we've got a welcome
536. 1:51:29page and we talk about the journey to AI literacy and the journey to AI literacy is play first joyfully exploring

541. 1:52:19you're being taught is out of date so this idea is just start playing start exploring um Let Yourself Go to areas where you otherwise
542. 1:52:32wouldn't have gone like maybe you're a project manager and your initial instinct is well I got to learn to do
543. 1:52:37project management with AI well no Maybe not maybe you need to learn to write a song why cuz writing songs is fun and
544. 1:52:45maybe you're a frustrated musician and you were never good at the violin cuz you had a shitty teacher and your
545. 1:52:51parents told you you had to play the violin and you're like I just want to play the guitar man no you're going to
546. 1:52:56play the violin and so you're like [ __ ] it I'm going to play nothing and you went you got degree in accounting and
547. 1:53:01now you're an accountant but deep down deep down you're a [ __ ] rock star play first by approaching AI from a
548. 1:53:13place of play allows you to discover the joy of AI what this channels about what the AI salons about is the joy of

574. 1:57:22evil or I'm never going to try it to try it and find that joy and change themselves even a little bit imagine the impact of that 3 years
575. 1:57:35down the line 5 years down the line how many people are each of you going to impact because you were willing to come
576. 1:57:43and hang out in here and be in this conversation and not be afraid when when you were out and someone said I don't
577. 1:57:50know about this AI stuff rather than going oh I don't want to get in that conversation you're like well can what
578. 1:57:56are you afraid of you have that empathy you have bravery you're willing to have the conversation hey you want to see
