18. 4:36April it shipped on April 30th I mean it's like they they shipped a piece of Hardware when they said they would does
19. 4:45anyone understand what a [ __ ] miracle that is and the hardware doesn't suck like it doesn't it doesn't crash it doesn't fall

27. 6:41you know this Hardware device which not for nothing like that's some of the most exciting industrial design I've seen in 10
28. 6:54years like a little [ __ ] scroll wheel and like a walkie-talkie button and a rotating camera like there's Innovations
29. 7:03on this that you're like why the [ __ ] didn't Apple come up with that and they actually shipped it and it actually
30. 7:13functions um and it's not perfect it's like a version 1.0 like like why people aren't recognizing this for what it is a
31. 7:221.0 piece of soft or piece of Hardware with Innovative relative ly Innovative software in it the software
32. 7:32is the weak point right now but not from Apple not from Google from like some little [ __ ] company like a dude that's like I think
33. 7:43we should have a cool thing like [ __ ] celebrate that and so my review is essentially a celebration of the fact that it exists and it
34. 7:56shipped and it [ __ ] works and and the software sucks but I feel like I feel like for 1.0 Hardware it's like I gave it a 10
35. 8:06out of 10 on the on the design nine nine out of 10 nine and a half out of 10 on the on the build cuz the build's really
36. 8:15good um it had battery issues but they fixed them with a software update um and then the and then the software is
37. 8:25just not ready like the software is very much 1.0 software but the fact that they shipped it when they said they would they said batch
38. 8:36one's going to ship in April it shipped on April 30th or no no it shipped before then it shipped April 24th it arrived on the
39. 8:5029th was a i chat GPT glitchy today um I used it in the morning and it was okay didn't they use Open Source
40. 9:02Hardware I don't know it I don't know what they used I mean it's their own it's their own um it's their own logic board I
41. 9:14assume that what they did was built built it on you know something like a Raspberry Pi kind of architecture but
42. 9:22it's apparently a an Android app running on an Android clone so maybe it's maybe it's well I mean maybe it's Google rather
43. 9:32than Raspberry Pi in terms of architecture I don't really know and I don't care I mean it's it's decently
44. 9:39responsive um it's got a potentiometer in it like how you how you um this is cute so you know you push the little
45. 9:46button to turn it on and then you push the little button to let's start putting together a steering committee Playbook that's good
46. 9:57um Genie in a Bottle like couldn't log in tonight I thought I was going to lose my mind oh in uh in chat GPT yeah that's
47. 10:03frustrating when that happens although generally if chat GPT is misbehaving It generally means they're upgrading
48. 10:11something um but anyway so so to use this thing you have it there and then you just go um oh I don't know
49. 10:22um what is the symbolism of the face cards in a deck of playing cards and off it goes cards in ack typically represent historical or
50. 10:34mythological figures and then you can just stop it like that Jack and then um oh and then so so the Nostalgia of a walkie-talkie is one
51. 10:44thing and then a physical scroll wheel on a device like this is really cool I wish it had like uh tick tick tick whatever those calls like
52. 10:55uh tick tick whatever that is it's just smooth but it's like got good resistance to it like it's it's got you know it's
53. 11:03well engineered um but it's got here here's another call back well one call back is the case it comes in is like a
54. 11:11cassette tape case and then that becomes the little stand you put it in but how you get to the um to the menu um for for
55. 11:22your settings is like an eter sketch you shake it you get to there and then you use your little scroll wheel to go up and down your menu now
56. 11:33the scroll Wheels really slow like the software for it's just jankier than [ __ ] and it's got weird [ __ ] like it's got a
57. 11:40touchcreen but the touch screen's not activated for this menu you have to use the scroll wheel in the button but you
58. 11:46know it's like [ __ ] like that is like you know some of the reviews like they make that stuff like it's a deal breaker
59. 11:53like they'll fix it in a software update people will [ __ ] about it and they'll fix it like if the hardware were slow or glitchy or
60. 12:04shitty then there's nothing you can fix there all the software stuff like everything that bugs me about it they're going to be able to
61. 12:15fix they were marketing zenial well they they nailed this gen exit [Music]

119. 21:57conversations with them on the Fly and they're saved to your account in your prompt history so you can just sit down
120. 22:03at your desktop and look at your you got the rabbit I did get the Rabbit cam I got it I put up a review tonight
121. 22:16um it doesn't it doesn't it doesn't save your your chat history anywhere so if you have a like a brainstorming
122. 22:26conversation with it it's not taking notes unless you tell it to it's taking notes to the rabbit hole
123. 22:32so it will it will remember but it's but it's only taking notes to the rabbit hole if you explicitly say save this or
124. 22:39if you or if you do image recognition stuff like a Tinder date exactly you tell it everything and then you're like
125. 22:48you mean I got to write this down [ __ ] so that that I actually requested I I I reported that as a bug or not as a bug a feature request by
126. 23:00the way today anthropic launched a um an iOS version of the Claude app but there are a lot like way more than chat GPT
127. 23:15apps there are a lot of Claud apps today I was surprised by co-pilot AI in Skype unbelievable and available in Spanish nice [Music]
128. 23:29yeah I have a feeling you know we forget Microsoft you know they launched Bing chat in what was it December or December of 22 or or January
129. 23:46of 23 so they've been at this for like a year and a year in change a year and six months they their Integrations are going
130. 23:55to start showing up in pretty sophisticated ways [Music] I have to do a presentation on why chat
131. 24:10GPT is better than co-pilot do you have three suggestions okay Papa Mike um the most important one is and
132. 24:21depending on your audience they might not see this as a bad thing the safety guard rails for co-pilot very often make it
133. 24:32unusable like you'll you'll try to be working on something and it will just um it'll just go no I can't answer that and
134. 24:41then if you're like no but please answer that it's like well clearly you don't respect my boundaries why don't we just
135. 24:47end this conversation it shuts the conversation down so I find I find that the safety guard rails on co-pilot are
136. 24:57are just they're arbitrary and they're just unnecessarily harsh so that's one thing um even though both chat GPT and co-pilot access
137. 25:14gp4 there's just a qualitative difference from my experience in in chat GPT versus co-pilot in terms of the answers I like
138. 25:26it it tends to be able to answer things more completely it doesn't get confused as much I find co-pilot just gets confused all the time
139. 25:37um co-pilot doesn't have code interpreter so if you have not played with code interpreter and don't know what it is you should explore that
140. 25:51um while co-pilot has well co- co-pilot's gpts like copilot has custom gpts but they're they're a little
141. 26:06janky they're not quite ready for prime time but one of the advantages of co-pilot gpts is an an end user doesn't
142. 26:14need a subscription to be able to use them once they're built you need a subscription to build them but you can
143. 26:21share them with anyone but it apparently they're pretty janky they're they're just not as good um [Music]
144. 26:33um chat gbt has memory now so you can like the things that I was trying to get this thing to remember you can do that in chat GPT
145. 26:43now um you can do it across [Music] chats yeah co-pilot is more for the regular person that needs some normal vanilla
146. 26:55things I mean here's the other here's the other here's the the real the real reason for me cat GPT is made um is is
147. 27:11available from the company that makes it right co-pilot is using open ai's large language model and they built
148. 27:21their own application over here but one of the things that you get when you pay the 20 bucks a month for chat GPT is
149. 27:28first access to their new [ __ ] and chat GPT is about to drop chat GPT 5 or gp5 or whatever the [ __ ] they
150. 27:37call it probably June July Midsummer they said and it's apparently going to be you know as big a jump from chat gbd 3.5 to chat GPT 4
151. 27:52it's going to be a similar scale jump to chat GPT 5 [Music] so you know where my head is is I want
152. 28:08to be paying the 20 bucks to the company that's inventing the [ __ ] thoughts about Pi I love pie um I think inflection was a really
153. 28:19interesting [Music] company they raised $1.3 billion they created by far the the best conversational chatbot um it's connected to the
154. 28:33internet it's just it's just really good at conversational AI like the the the rabbit the I think this is built on
155. 28:43perplexity it's just not as good like it just it's just weird you try to crack jokes with it it it doesn't understand
156. 28:51jokes it's just like I am a large language model I don't understand apparent it sounds like you're trying to communicate something
157. 28:58why don't you ask me a question when you have one it just you know it it doesn't grock the uh the situation Pi does like
158. 29:07Pi will joke with you and Pi understands if something is out of the ordinary with you that said um Microsoft looted the company they
159. 29:21took two of the three co-founders Reed Hoffman is left there with the husk and apparently a bunch of the um employees
160. 29:29went over to Microsoft as well so the the two two of the three co-founders of inflection and a bunch of the employees
161. 29:37went over to Microsoft to start their AI division that was the division that they were going to give to Sam Alman and Greg
162. 29:44Brockman when they were fired from their company so so Microsoft is okay so here here's a Nuance if you
163. 29:53don't know it here's here's a Nuance of of what's happening with the Microsoft in the open AI relationship if and when when and if
164. 30:05open AI achieves AGI Microsoft loses commercial access to that technology um satin Adella the CEO of Microsoft has been saying for the past
165. 30:21two months or so we don't need open AI we're fine we've got our own stuff we don't need you poopy poopy pants on you
166. 30:28if we've got we've got other friends in the AI business and they have they've been investing in uh I think I think
167. 30:34they invested in anthropic uh they invested in inflection to the point that two of the three co-founders now work
168. 30:42for them I'm not quite sure how they pulled that one off but they did so my thought on PI right now is it probably
169. 30:51isn't improving at the rate it once was Reed Hoffman has said they are commed to Pi and Pi's not going to go
170. 31:02away but I have no idea what happened to that $1.3 billion I don't know if they're backfilling the employees I
171. 31:08don't know if they actually really secretly sold it to Microsoft but they didn't quite announce it yet but maybe
172. 31:14after some sort of non-compete lockup it'll transfer to M I like I don't know what I don't know what the [ __ ] deal was it was weird
173. 31:23so yeah Pi is not exponentially improving anymore I just checked you can still purchase an
174. 31:37R1 and it will ship next month I hope so I mean they they sold out their first they sold them in batches of
175. 31:5010,000 and the first batch the batch I got in the first batch I saw Robert scoble he was at CES and saw the keynote
176. 31:59and and he said I just ordered one and I saw it was only 200 bucks and it didn't have a subscription I was like [ __ ] it
177. 32:05I'll do it so so I got the first batch but I think they sold out like the first seven or eight batches of
178. 32:1310,000 like and and I thought they were going to be farther apart than that but but maybe what they did was they did the first
179. 32:21batch you know of 10,000 and now they're going to do like a 100,000 or a larger batch I don't know but if they're shipping if they're
180. 32:29saying they're shipping in June they said they were going to ship this in April and they [Music] did Joker's waiting for the turtle slow

182. 32:58version of the operating system here would be super slick I just what what I think is so cool about the hardware is it's it's so

186. 33:47kid's operating system in that and think about what it is I mean this is this is not that much bigger than a tamagachi remember

188. 34:09like feed it and do [ __ ] like that this has like all of the knowledge of all of humanity in it and you can just have you
189. 34:20had any Kevin mallister moments with it um for me it's the the form factor itself is a bit of a Kevin mallister
190. 34:34moment this is the king of tamagachi yeah the the form itself is kind of a Kevin McAllister moment because whether
191. 34:43or not we end up using handheld AI devices the fact that that they had the guts to put something out there that
192. 34:58challenges the the entire existing mobile infrastructure I mean this is clearly an uphill battle right because I've already got buttons
193. 35:09on my phone right but the problem with the buttons on the phone is you've got one over here on on my iPhone I got one
194. 35:16over here and two over here and whenever I hit one of them I accidentally hit one of the other ones and it always invokes
195. 35:22some other [ __ ] thing and then it's got all the apps and I've and I've got to navigate the apps and I got to find
196. 35:28the apps and if I can't remember the name of an app and I can't search for it then I got to go scroll through hundreds
197. 35:33of [ __ ] apps because I'm a tab hoarder and that's the way it works with us and this is the promise of this is there's one button that does
198. 35:44everything make me a picture of a 70s muscle car in an abandoned Factory with sunlight streaming through the broken

235. 42:57wonder what it's searching on to find accommodations in Mexico and purchase tickets for your family you can
236. 43:05search for specific locations such but so when when there's agents that can do all that [ __ ] websites like Expedia
237. 43:12offer family friendly why not just have a device like this where you can just go now the reason not to just have a device
238. 43:20like this is I've already got a [ __ ] phone but to the extent that Google an apple make it harder to use all this

338. 1:01:17right and then finally adaptability things are going to be changing a lot so I think what happens in things like
339. 1:01:23knowledge work and creative disciplines is that the Specialists get penalized and the people who can think more
340. 1:01:30horizontally or have what's called a t-shir t-shaped um skill set where they they can go deep in one area of expertise but
341. 1:01:39they can think strategically across disciplines I think those people are going to get rewarded so I think I think
342. 1:01:46there will be massive disruption there but it's the people that can can be an agile human uh as as this article um
343. 1:01:53describes are going to be the ones that that get that have the most opportunity and I think they've got massive
344. 1:02:01opportunity um but yeah I think there's going to be a lot of disruption um and then and then whether or not we go to
345. 1:02:06Ubi and and when and for for how long depends on how acute the shift is right if all of a sudden we go from you know
346. 1:02:16no one's really talking about AI to you know I don't know some some Mass like like a single industry just gets
347. 1:02:25decimated and there's you know millions of people all of a sudden out of work and the government has to do something
348. 1:02:31right if it if it if it happens acutely enough kind of like Co did where governments had to act um then I think
