10:38 strangers gpts that I could also be
10:41 showing people's gpts from in here so it
10:44 took me about 90 minutes to figure that
10:46 out yesterday so tonight we we can get
10:49 to that a little quicker and show off
10:51 some people's gpts if we want to do
10:54 that
10:56 um we can also if you don't know what a
10:58 GPT is is we can explore that um we can
11:03 make a GPT um I try to I try to let
11:06 these evenings kind of steer themselves
11:10 uh based on what you guys want to do so

12:22 AI stuff if you're Cur curious about
12:24 this AI stuff you're like but I don't
12:25 know where to start I don't know what to
12:27 do all that sort of stuff this is the
12:29 group for you um even if you're Advanced
12:33 if you've been we've got people in here
12:34 been in this for 30 years we've got
12:36 people that have been in this for 30
12:37 minutes and everyone in
12:40 between
12:43 um and the whole idea here is
12:48 that this generative AI stuff the this
12:51 stuff everyone's talking about chat GPT
12:54 and all this stuff where it feels like
12:55 it's overhyped right you're like this is
12:57 just the bubble right this is going to
12:59 get this is going to be over soon I
13:01 don't have to think about this right no
13:03 it's not and and that's kind of what
13:05 this group is about is saying
13:07 okay regardless of what you think of AI
13:10 from a moral ethical technical anything
13:14 standpoint this stuff is here and it's
13:17 getting more powerful and it's
13:19 accelerating and the people that are
13:21 getting curious about it and getting AI
13:23 literate good things are happening to
13:25 them there's a lot of opportunity if you
13:28 get educated about this stuff and so
13:30 this group is really just a group trying
13:32 to figure this stuff out together okay
13:33 so we're kind of on this adventure
13:35 together and we've got values things
13:38 like curiosity like we want people in
13:41 here that are curious like yeah I want
13:42 to figure this stuff out and people that
13:44 are generous hey not only do I want to
13:46 figure this out here's something I
13:47 figured out take a look you know sharing
13:50 sharing what you're learning um we want
13:53 people that are explorers and
13:55 adventurers we want people that are
13:57 collaborators we want people that are
13:58 inclusive and willing to bring you know
14:01 people in from all walks of life because
14:03 this AI stuff is going to impact
14:05 everyone so people are going to be
14:07 coming in who are accountants and and
14:10 storage unit managers like Jim Ross he's
14:14 in the storage business he is all over
14:17 this AI [ __ ] you want to get inspired by
14:20 someone who like from a from a resume
14:24 and job description standpoint you'd
14:27 think there's no way they're into AI
14:28 he's killing it with AI um so like and
14:33 awesome right things like that and then
14:35 empathy we we want people that are that
14:37 are willing to recognize this AI stuff's
14:40 scary and it's intimidating and people
14:42 are pissed off about it and people are
14:43 excited about it and just really
14:46 understand that everyone's in their own
14:47 little place on the journey okay so if
14:49 these values resonate with you these are
14:51 your
14:52 people they won't judge you they won't
14:55 say oh you're just starting no oh you
14:58 don't know Pearl or python or HTML 17.6

18:00 see um chat GPT 3.5 is the free version
18:05 it's still really good and there's good
18:08 stuff
18:09 there but chat GPT 4 is 20 bucks a month
18:14 and it
18:15 is beyond worth it in my opinion
18:18 assuming you can afford 20 bucks a month
18:20 if you can give up three cups of coffee
18:22 from Starbucks a month I hate that
18:24 argument but it's really true in this
18:26 case um
18:30 20 bucks a month for chat GPT is is is
18:33 the best investment in your future I can
18:36 think of like pay the 20 bucks a month
18:38 and learn this [ __ ] learn all the stuff
18:40 that's in it so and I'll show you it's
18:43 got text generation it's got access to
18:44 the internet it's got this thing called
18:46 code interpreter which is amazing it's
18:48 got GPT Vision which means it can see
18:50 and interpret images it's got Dolly 3
18:53 which means it can generate images um
18:55 you can create and share these things
18:57 called custom gpts which is what the the
19:00 GPT store is all about and that's uh
19:03 what a lot of people in here have done
19:04 so there's lots and lots of stuff to do
19:06 there okay so start with chat GPT we can
19:10 go look at other stuff but let's go to

20:27 rather than giving you a whole pile of
20:29 links it'll answer you and in this case

20:34 say it was adopted September 17th
20:37 1787 con constitutional convention in
20:41 Philly later ratified by each state
20:44 there's a preamble there's
20:46 articles and there's amendments so it
20:48 gives you a cute little thing like
20:50 awesome and then you think like huh what
20:54 there was that play Hamilton where they
20:56 like did this stuff as like rap s so
20:59 could you do make a
21:02 Hamilton style rap about the
21:09 Constitution and boom it'll write you a
21:14 WAP so you can be your own little Lin
21:17 Manuel Miranda yo gather around folks
21:20 let me tell you a story about the
21:21 constitution in all its Glory was 1787 a
21:25 pivotal year Philly Convention let's
21:27 make it clear it can do that you're like

21:44 Carol you're like what that doesn't even
21:47 make any sense and then it

22:06 Christmas Carol and and what this sort
22:08 of demonstrates is one of the
22:10 misconceptions about chat GPT and these
22:13 large language models is that They're
22:15 copying and pasting right that the the
22:18 because there's all these lawsuits about
22:20 copyright and what these things have
22:21 been trained on one of the
22:24 misconceptions is that it's just a big
22:26 old pile of documents and GPT is like a
22:29 really fast Xerox copier and it's just
22:31 copying [ __ ] from different documents
22:34 that ain't how it works I promise you
22:36 there's not a table on the internet
22:38 somewhere that compares the US
22:40 Constitution and A Christmas Carol it
22:42 just doesn't make sense that it would be
22:44 there so how's it doing that it's wild
22:47 how it actually does it it it it's a
22:50 Fantastical mathematical
22:53 formula and it's a probability engine
22:56 that as you type in your prompt or as
22:58 you submit your prompt it creates this
23:01 weird mathematical waiting that says
23:04 what is the next most likely word to be
23:07 the right word in response to that
23:09 prompt and then and then once it gives
23:12 you that word it does it again and does
23:13 it again so over and over again it's
23:16 predicting what the next most probable
23:19 word is and then it just does all
23:21 this and it does it for code too I could
23:26 say make me a python
23:30 application that gives someone a
23:34 quiz about the US
23:37 Constitution and every time they get an
23:40 answer
23:41 wrong we tell them they have to start
23:46 over I don't know I don't know why I
23:49 made a sadistic game but there it is
23:52 making code and you can go run that code
23:55 you can go to repet and take that code
23:57 and run it and build an application my
23:59 my big Epiphany with chat GPT was with
24:02 python code within 90 minutes of just
24:05 playing with it like I just
24:07 did never having written a line of
24:10 python in my life within 90
24:13 minutes I had created a python
24:15 application that was making API calls to
24:18 chat GPT and I made a social media
24:21 content generator it would ask you three
24:24 questions about a topic and then when
24:26 you hit submit it would generate a blog
24:29 post tweets
24:31 hashtags forget what else it was five
24:33 different pieces of social media
24:35 content within 90 minutes never having
24:39 written a line of python in my
24:41 life I was like oh holy [ __ ] this is
24:44 something's different the world just
24:46 changed there is no possible
24:50 explanation for the fact that in less
24:53 than 2 hours I could not only I didn't
24:56 Learn Python I still haven't written a
24:57 line of python in my life but I can
25:00 now create applications with computer
25:03 languages I don't know I can using the
25:07 same
25:09 technology and you can too this is not
25:13 I'm not special here oh on so many
25:15 levels he is kind of special isn't he he
25:18 seems a little touched is he touched
25:20 he's a little touched he's a little I
25:22 mean you know I mean he's nice but right

26:06 you come up with something funny or
26:08 clever or intelligent or

26:22 fridge it's a little bit funny and makes
26:24 you think right what's happening at your
26:27 Gathering sounds a big

27:53 put put chat GPT in conversation mode
27:56 and just on his two-hour trip had a
27:58 conversation and told chat GPT to make a
28:00 game or teach him a new language or
28:02 teach him a concept or talk about a
28:04 business book um crazy can it write
28:07 other code can it create a website yes
28:10 it can write yes yes and and
28:14 specifically how to do that and what
28:15 tool to
28:17 use I don't
28:19 know but yes it can one of the one of
28:22 the very first things I did was
28:25 um I had to come up with a marketing
28:27 plan for the AI
28:30 salon and then I was like oh I should I
28:32 should send out some emails to some
28:34 email list that I've got and I had it
28:36 write an email and I'm like great that's
28:37 a good email and then I put the email in
28:40 the email program and it looked like
28:42 [ __ ] and I'm like oh yeah you gotta
28:46 format this [ __ ] damn
28:48 it so I went back to chat GPT and I I
28:51 literally said hey chat
28:54 GPT I this email you just wrote me is a
28:58 fine email but it looks boring as crap
29:00 can you make it look better and write it
29:03 using HTML that is friendly for an email
29:07 program because HTML in emails is not
29:10 the same as HTML in
29:13 websites and it did it and I popped it
29:16 in there and I didn't like the one color
29:18 it chose and I said can you make that
29:19 color another color and it made it
29:21 another color and I'm like can you add
29:22 horizontal lines between the paragraphs
29:24 and it did that and it just like B boom
29:28 bang copy paste go so yes it can I talk
29:33 to it while in traffic on the highway
29:39 see
29:41 exactly okay so that's what chat GPT is
29:44 it is this it's a large language model
29:47 and if you're like I don't what does
29:48 that mean a large language model here
29:50 I'll put it in context do you do you
29:52 know what else are large large language
29:55 models us the these
29:59 things everything in our
30:02 world
30:04 we know about and can understand because
30:08 of language so when someone talks to you
30:10 it goes into that [ __ ] crazy straw
30:12 brain of
30:13 yours it dumps some [ __ ] around fires
30:16 off some synapses and some words highly
30:19 probable words come out of your mouth
30:22 the most probable words and that's kind
30:24 of how these things work so they're
30:26 really quite remarkable and and what
30:29 what my experience is with
30:31 them is that
30:36 um they call them
30:39 Bots and and you know the the humanoid
30:44 robot companies aren't helping the cause
30:46 cuz they're kind of reinforcing what
30:48 Hollywood told us what these things are
30:50 going to look
30:51 like but my experience with them is it
30:54 doesn't feel like you're talking with a
30:55 bot what it actually feels like is
30:57 you're kind of talking with a person or
30:58 you're kind of talking with Humanity
31:00 because you kind of are so how they're
31:03 trained so here's here's a little a
31:06 little uh acronym lesson chat
31:09 GPT um chat GPT heard my cat meow and
31:12 started talking to me in
31:16 Ukrainian that's awesome there you go
31:19 there you go apparently apparently
31:22 kitties kitties are Ukrainian by descent
31:24 I don't yeah maybe it's possible very
31:26 possible
31:29 uh the G and GPT stands for generative
31:33 and that's that idea that these things
31:34 are generating content they're not
31:36 copying and pasting it they're
31:38 generating it they're creating original
31:40 content for you every single time which
31:43 again doesn't seem possible but it's
31:45 true pre-trained the P GPT the P stands
31:49 for pre-trained well what does that mean
31:51 pre-trained well back in the olden timey
31:54 days like two years ago 3 years AG ago
31:58 if you wanted to do machine learning
32:00 stuff you'd go on ahead and get your
32:02 mathematics degree from Stamford or MIT
32:06 and then first thing they would say to
32:08 you when you got out of machine learning
32:10 school is where's your data set and
32:12 you'd be like oh crap I left it back at
32:16 the University do I need data and
32:18 they're like uh yeah you got to have
32:20 data to train your stupid machine
32:22 learning thing so you it knows what to
32:24 do you big fat Dum dumb you're like Dam
32:27 it and then you then you work at a gas
32:30 station selling cigarettes to strangers
32:34 cuz you didn't have your data set you
32:36 your machine learning doesn't do crap
32:38 without
32:39 data so chat
32:41 GPT is is based on a technology which is
32:45 the T in chat gbt called Transformers
32:49 generative pre-trained
32:51 Transformers what the Transformers did
32:53 was they made it possible to train these
32:56 machine learning models on massive data
32:59 sets it was basically like the more data
33:01 you threw at it and the more compute
33:03 power you threw at it the better it got

33:50 knowledge that's been put on the
33:51 internet for the past 30 or 40
33:53 years like as much of it as they could
33:55 get their hands on which is a lot
33:58 like think about like just how much have
34:00 you put on the internet in the past 30

44:53 that these tools are forcing me to do

45:47 um these tools have gone what they call
45:49 multimodal where you can switch between
45:51 all these different modes and it's it is
45:53 a it's it's a bit of a mind [ __ ]

1:08:12 mail so at agency.com company I started
1:08:16 in '94 we got hired in 95 or early 96 by

1:08:25 we heard you do websites and we think
1:08:26 we'd like to put our
1:08:28 little happy little company like that
1:08:32 you could we could sell some of these
1:08:34 subscriptions on the internet could you
1:08:36 could you make us that website we're
1:08:37 like yeah we can make you that
1:08:39 website and so we design the website and
1:08:42 we have these meetings and we're having
1:08:43 these meetings and then we we keep
1:08:46 asking for access to their database to
1:08:47 be able to you know sell
1:08:53 subscriptions
1:08:55 and the clock's are ticking and the
1:08:57 clock's are ticking and the deadline
1:08:59 passes and it and and we're basically
1:09:02 like to our clients they're like well
1:09:04 why the [ __ ] isn't the site done and
1:09:06 we're like well cuz you know we don't
1:09:09 really have access to the parts needed
1:09:12 to make it work why not well cuz it's
1:09:16 behind those two people's doors and they
1:09:19 will not open them for us so they call
1:09:23 an emergency meeting
1:09:24 and there's like five of us from
1:09:26 agency.com and there's like eight or 10
1:09:28 of them from Columbia house and we're
1:09:30 all just sitting around this big table
1:09:32 and we're going back and forth and back
1:09:33 and forth and at one point the guy from
1:09:35 it slams his fist on the desk and he
1:09:38 goes do you mean to tell me if you don't
1:09:40 have access to our databases you can't
1:09:42 build a
1:09:44 website and I and I leaned in and I said
1:09:47 that's exactly what we're
1:09:50 saying that was it they fired us
1:09:55 and it's
1:09:56 like you we we cannot succeed at
1:10:01 building a site that interacts with your
1:10:03 database if we can't interact with your
1:10:06 database so you know over time they
1:10:08 ultimately figured that [ __ ] out but
1:10:10 they didn't do it with us but I mean
1:10:11 that's that's what's going to happen
1:10:13 with AI right now is that it departments
1:10:17 are going to be like oh there's security
1:10:18 vulnerabilities here it's got to go
1:10:20 through it it's got to go through
1:10:22 it all that [ __ ] that I just did
1:10:25 with naming a company and coming up with
1:10:28 a marketing campaign and bo bo bo all
1:10:31 that sort of stuff that's going to be
1:10:33 driven from very different parts of the
1:10:34 organization than it and the priorities
1:10:38 for which solution we
1:10:40 choose if they're driven from it are
1:10:43 going to prioritize different
1:10:45 things than if they're coming from the
1:10:48 business side of the
1:10:49 business so having a SE
1:10:52 Suite that is is educated about what AI
1:10:55 makes possible and how it's going to
1:10:58 impact every single part of the company

1:48:19 that workspace
1:48:21 um team data is excluded from training
1:48:26 by default so one of the knocks on chat
1:48:29 jpt is that they as is that open AI can
1:48:33 use your data for training so if you're
1:48:36 putting your client's data in there and
1:48:38 you haven't disabled use my data for
1:48:42 training your client's data is going
1:48:45 into the training set and that's freaked
1:48:48 rightfully freaked a bunch of people out
1:48:50 so so with Team you can now do that so
1:48:53 multiple people can sign up 30 bucks a
1:48:56 month it's 25 bucks a month if you pay
1:48:58 for a year I don't think you should pay
1:49:00 for a year personally you can do what
1:49:02 you want if you got the money spend it I
1:49:04 don't give a

2:05:16 name from your billing information so

2:05:26 billing
2:05:27 information or you have to validate your
2:05:30 website so you need to do one of those
2:05:32 two things the other thing that they
2:05:34 just added here which is really cool is
2:05:37 receive feedback emails at your email
2:05:40 address and so if you turn this on in
2:05:43 your Builder profile people can give you
2:05:45 feedback from your gpts I actually got
2:05:47 an email today I think it was from one
2:05:48 of the regulars but it was still pretty
2:05:50 cool um
2:05:55 so so that that has to happen first so
2:05:58 you have to have your Builder profile um
2:06:01 validate or like
2:06:03 activated if you're going to if you
2:06:05 wanted to say by your company name.com
