130. 26:23you wanted a human being to use the internet they would just look at it and go yeah no and then Tim burners Lee invents the
131. 26:32worldwide web and the the internet goes from this thing that you had to know codes and numbers to I can click on
132. 26:41hyperlinks and that that that was the primary Innovation there was click click zoom over to another server click zoom
133. 26:49over to another piece of data um and it changed everything now it took a while but the real Innovation there was the
134. 26:59shift from scientists and technologists and researchers to Everyday People and so chpt represents that for AI so comfy
135. 27:09UI lives in that space where it's like well you still got to be a [ __ ] programmer like even though it it is a
136. 27:16visual interface and you can sort of connect wires and dots you still got to be a [ __ ] programmer and you have to
137. 27:21geek out on Which models you're using and which version of the model and where it's being hosted and how it's being
138. 27:27served and how many gpus you been allocated it's who gives a [ __ ] so so I mean a lot of people give a
139. 27:36[ __ ] and they should give a [ __ ] but that's the focus here is the rest of us not having to be a programmer

145. 28:34Moshi boy nailed it nailed it but we can go look at some videos of people playing with that they're they're
146. 28:43not like people are just being idiots right now cuz it's only been out for 3 hours or whatever it's been um Kyle punked
147. 28:53us GP is so smart what's the downside of that GPT um the downside of all of these models right now is the Jank you're like what's the
148. 29:10Jank the Jank is just that all of these tools right now are remarkably powerful and jankier than [ __ ] so there there's a couple of things
149. 29:22about chat GPT that if you haven't been playing with it um kind of suck one is a really subtle thing which
150. 29:33is if you give it a shitty prompt like when you give Google a shitty prompt that's kind kind of how it's designed to work in fact
151. 29:46Google over 20 years trained us use less words you know you know train train Boston Schedule you know they trained Us
152. 29:57train Boston schedule and that'll it'll go find Boston train schedules right um chat GPT is kind of the opposite where
153. 30:05if you don't give it enough context it'll give you really shitty answers so one of the problems with chat GPT is
154. 30:12people go to use it and they treat it because it looks like the Google search box they treat chat GPT like Google you
155. 30:18know Boston train schedule and it gives them some shitty shitty answer and they're like oh I tried it it wasn't all
156. 30:24that good I like Google better it ain't Google it ain't fancy Google it is a fundamentally different thing so that's
157. 30:31so one thing is you have to learn how to talk to it and you know there's thing that people talk about called prompt
158. 30:37engineering which I think is a really intimidating term and I don't like it at all um but the way you talk to chat GPT
159. 30:45to get the best results is talk to it as if you're talking to a really well-educated clueless intern just have a conversation with it
160. 30:56tell it what you're up to tell it about the business you're trying to start tell it that you're trying to that you you
161. 31:02want to come up with a marketing plan but you don't know anything about marketing and just start having a conversation with it and the more
162. 31:08context you give it the more shape you give it of the idea that you know you want it to live within the better it
163. 31:14gets so that's one thing it's just how to talk to it and then the other thing that's kind of janky about chat GPT is
164. 31:21that even if you mostly get it right it will just give you wrong answers sometimes they call it hallucinate fting
165. 31:29um and the the doomers or the naysayers the AI naysayers you know they talk about the the hallucinations like that's
166. 31:39a reason not to use them it's not a reason not to use them but it is a reason to understand that they do
167. 31:46that and if you're going to do something like write a legal brief with chat GPT be sure to check the [ __ ]
168. 31:54citations there was a there was a lawyer that wrote a legal brief and handed it to a judge and the judge called him up to the
169. 32:02bench and said uh hey uh legal brief interesting points here but uh none of these cases seem to exist do you think people will feel
170. 32:14they're fed up with AI things at some point though we're just getting started um I think that's a really good question
171. 32:23I saw who was it that wrote it today someone decently big forget who the [ __ ] it was I commented on it so I can figure it
172. 32:37out they said um 2024 is the equivalent of 1999 with with the worldwide web with the hype of the worldwide web and if you
173. 32:47don't know that history 1999 was the year that the internet hype was completely boiling over and the internet
174. 32:56bubble burst in in April of 2000 so 1999 was sort of peak hype and what this investor wrote was 2024 is like 1999
175. 33:07meaning the bubble's about to burst and I responded I completely disagree 2024 is more like 1996 and I know these seems seem like
176. 33:19really weird semantic things 1996 most people didn't know what the internet was they didn't know what the worldwide web was
177. 33:28it was still like people like the Irregulars here and like me people trying to figure it out and talking philosophically about what is a
178. 33:35hyperlink mean and was it what is why do we call them pages and should we call them pages and all that like we were
179. 33:41still in an inquiry about what the effect the worldwide web was and why it was important we were not in stupid hype

187. 34:562% of people use GPT on any kind of regular basis 2% and I promise you that those 2% most of them just use

189. 35:18like that so we're talking about there there is technology in our Collective hands right now that is stunning and
190. 35:28remarkable that half a percent maybe 1% of people have any understanding of the hype has not even begun yeah Gary Marcus today was like
191. 35:42okay it's here's all my predictions I told you it would flatten out I told you it would Plateau it was overhyped it's
192. 35:47all over everything's done that narrative is out there on Tik Tok and it's it is simply not true Elon Musk in four weeks spun up a

204. 37:54company and they're like well we we got 20 ,000 licenses of of chat GPT and we're not sure of the of the
205. 38:04ROI so if they were paying retail it would be 30 bucks a seat right which is a lot of money but they're not paying
206. 38:12retail it's some small percentage of that they're probably paying 10 15 bucks a seat for 20,000 licenses and did they train the people
207. 38:24did they just buy 20,000 licenses and go here's chat GPT go [ __ ] use it did they put them in work groups did
208. 38:32they bring in people like Source camp on this call or Jim Ross or people who are actually applying this stuff and put
209. 38:38together working groups to talk about what's what's the work they do today where are the pain points how could they
