6. 1:03figuring out which celebrity I look like lately it's Modern Family I think that's the shirt the shirt the glasses and the
7. 1:12fatness and the comedy comedy cavity name that comedian Mark Norman all right my name is Kyle Shannon this is the AI
8. 1:21learning lab uh the reason I put these here URLs on screen those are um the top one is the official chat gbt
9. 1:32website the next one down is Bing which is Microsoft's GPT website and then poe.com also gives you access to chat
10. 1:39gbt but also some other models um and it's it's really interesting um so that's what those are there for prompts.chat will teach you how to

21. 3:22fan of Brad Pitts and when I'm in the room she's not comparing us it's a whole different ballgame I mean Brad Pitt's one of those guys
22. 3:34that just you know he walks into the room and just people's like like when you use chat GPT the first time you're like wait it could do that
23. 3:43that's the kind of effect that dude has uh um so so wait how do I use chat GPT more effectively well a couple of things so there's a let me
24. 3:57see if I can go find it um openai just put out I'm going to openai.com openai.com and I think this is well let's go slash

26. 4:28AI wait open AI um prompting guide it's not quite called the prompting Guy best practices okay so
27. 4:42open AI just put out this paper called best practices for prompt engineering with open ai's API now this is for developers but
28. 4:57um the the things that they include in here are just things that you can use to get better so use the latest model so in in that
29. 5:07case if it's chat gbt use gpt4 put instructions at the beginning of the prompt and use hashtags or quotes to
30. 5:16separate the instruction from the context I don't quite know what that means be specific descriptive and as
31. 5:23detailed as possible about the desired context outcome length format style so so that one's really important so
32. 5:34like one of the things that that Google search has trained us over the past couple of decades is to be really
33. 5:41concise in what you write because if you wrote too many words it would get garbled and then you'd get a bunch of [ __ ] you didn't want
34. 5:47chat apt is kind of the opposite and it's a lot more like you're having a collaborative conversation with a really
35. 5:56smart intern than it than it is like a search engine like an answer engine so if you tell it let's so oh like like the
36. 6:05the thing that made the biggest difference for me is you actually kind of shift your mindset and you start
37. 6:09talking to it this is gonna sound weird and creepy but you start talking to it like it's a person you're like hey I
38. 6:16have an idea to do this thing and here's my ideas on it and I'm I I think I'm gonna do some blog posts and you know I
39. 6:24want to do things that are going to get me engagement in social media and you know here's some ideas and maybe even
40. 6:30here's a blog post that I wrote so can you copy my style and you know give me 10 blog post ideas you know on these topics
41. 6:42um and it'll spit it out and then you can say oh I like number seven can you write me a blog post in number seven
42. 6:48using my style and it will do that um so so be really specific um and and have it be a conversation what else do they say articulate the
43. 6:58desired output format through examples so you can copy and paste it's really good at copying you could take a little chunk of code or
44. 7:07you could take how you I've done this before with writing tweets you can take how you've written a tweet and then say
45. 7:13you know write me 10 tweets on this topic following this format and tone and it will do it really really well
46. 7:21um what else do they say here start with zero shot then few shot so zero shot just basically means you're just putting
47. 7:28in a prompt few shot means you're going to put in some examples and then they give you examples here um reduce fluffy and imprecise
48. 7:38descriptions so so don't just say write me a poem about the sky say write write me a poem about how the beautiful Azure Sky makes me feel
49. 7:53uh peaceful when the breeze is blowing or something like that and and it will get much much better um instead of just saying what not to do
50. 8:03tell it what to do um anyway so so this document so it's at help.openai.com and then it's called just do a search
51. 8:13for their articles best practices for prompt engineering with openai so um so that's a good I think there's a
52. 8:20newer one out than this annual May let's see so that's a good one the thing that made the biggest difference for me was
53. 8:31shifting out of that mindset of you sort of type in a prompt once and you get an answer don't do it like that do it like an interaction
54. 8:40I was gonna go with I'm the Brad Pitt of chat gbt yeah you can say that I can't say that okay okay laughed off this app
55. 8:49that's why talk about violating Community guidelines how do I use chat GPT more effectively we just did that some comments in the
56. 8:58live were filtered don't be mean to each other don't say nasty [ __ ] but it was probably about me not looking like Brad Pitt
57. 9:05um am I deploying any AI so I have so my company storybine is a an automated video storytelling platform
58. 9:14we rolled um open ai's whisper into the platform to do transcriptions and then I've created a number of
59. 9:23content generators where I create some sort of input like a Google form and then I'll take the input from that form
60. 9:30and and incorporate it into some prompts send that back to to open Ai and do generate like social media content or um you know some I
61. 9:41um I did a Content thing for a Consulting organization where you state a business problem and then it will generate a set of questions that
62. 9:51you should be asking in a bunch of different categories so I'm doing it more on the on the using the AI side
63. 9:58rather than you know training it myself and things like that which that's the the inflection point that we're at
64. 10:06November 30th 2022 you know marks a bifurcation in the world of AI prior to that it was scientists and researchers
65. 10:15and machine learning people and you know there were some developers in there um but it but it was largely you know
66. 10:21the the domain of of the the super Geeks the this the really Smart Ones and you know post November 30th after chat gbt
67. 10:30you have a hundred million users um we're using chat EPT within six weeks I I can't imagine what the numbers are
68. 10:37now with Bing and with all this other stuff and with Bard and you know it's got to be hundreds of millions of users
69. 10:43are now using these tools that you know are not scientists and they're not researchers they're business people
70. 10:50and they're entrepreneurs and they're teachers and their students and they're right so so we are in a different phase
71. 10:55so the work that I'm doing is is like in the post phase um I'm taking these tools and figuring out how I can do them to amplify my
72. 11:03business and to amplify my brain and and like I've never felt more creative alive creatively alive than that I have in the past six months
73. 11:13um this stuff's just absolutely insane um I'm losing it I've been walking around my house saying you two can make money
74. 11:25I'm just people [ __ ] annoying it's like every time I hit one of those tick tocks like I can't scroll fast enough and I I get that yeah
75. 11:39and then if you listen to what they actually say they're like come up with t-shirt ideas okay well I could have [ __ ] come up with t-shirt
76. 11:49ideas without tattoo and then you still have to do the marketing do the right you know I don't know those people are
77. 11:55just idiots so like but here's the deal like can you make money with chat of course you can you can make money with
78. 12:02Photoshop you can make money with a shovel how do you make money you solve problems right that's what business is right
79. 12:08business is I've identified a problem I think that there's a bunch of people out there that have this problem too and
80. 12:15if I solve it they might pay me for that that's business that's how it works and so chat GPT is just a tool now it
81. 12:22happens to be one of the most powerful tools in the history of mankind that's fun um but it's just a tool so so where I
82. 12:31would suggest you start is with what are you good at what are you passionate about you know have you wanted to write something do
83. 12:40you want to make people laugh do you want to I don't know solve problems in your neighborhood with your community group with your church
84. 12:46think about the problem you want to solve and then start learning chat GPT or start learning mid-journey or
85. 12:52whatever the thing is that will support you in solving that problem but lead with the problem you want to solve and
86. 12:57then figure out how to use these AI tools to solve it it'll do two things you'll learn AI way better because now
87. 13:05you've got focus and you're just like how do I how do I do this with this oh [ __ ] it does that it's odds that's good
88. 13:11I really could make hey [Laughter] doesn't like it either all right oh now it's drama it's champion
89. 13:26jab jab all right would you say four has gotten better about producing coherent long form versus gpt3 sport salad yeah
90. 13:38four well okay a couple of things if you're using bing.com which is gpt4 it has been lobotomized by Microsoft
91. 13:47because of the that a pesky little PR issue with the New York Times putting putting um the their bot went crazy on
92. 13:55the New York Times Reporter and told him to leave his wife so they kind of lobotomized gpt4 so it's not quite as good as uh as open AI so
93. 14:05so the gpt4 at chat.openai.com is dramatically better at writing than GPT 3.5 now I still use GPT 3.5 it's way faster if I
94. 14:19just want to knock something out like give me a table comparing this concept and that concept and blah blah like you
95. 14:26type it in it's like there it is um but if you want nuanced writing or good creative writing things like that
96. 14:33um it's gpt4 is better the other thing is this break break your rather than thinking about a single massive a prompt that generates a mass
97. 14:47of content break it up into steps break it up into sections so like where I'll start if I'm doing creative writing is
98. 14:54I'll often even start with a with a story writing framework so I'll say give me the top three story writing
99. 15:01Frameworks for writing a screenplay and it'll give Sid field and save the cat and it'll come up with these things and
100. 15:07then I'll say can can you combine the hero's journey with save the cat and create me a custom story framework and
101. 15:14it'll do that and I'm like yeah that's not quite like I want I want the middle of the screenplay to be more like this
102. 15:20structurally right and then it'll give you that and then you can go okay you know now I have an idea for for a
103. 15:27screenplay and and you know here are some elements and then you know can you suggest some other characters that I
104. 15:34might include you know other than these two main characters and it'll do that and then you can say oh that's great and
105. 15:40here's some plot points can you FL flesh out any of these plot points and it'll do that and then you can say okay now
106. 15:46take those characters we talked about and take those plot points we talked about and throw them into that story
107. 15:51framework you did and write me a nice outline boom it'll knock out a nice nice outline and then you can tell it you
108. 15:58know take point one of that outline and you know write me you know an opening scene or whatever it might be so so
109. 16:05break your stuff in up into chunks and it gets way way better because as you're doing that back and forth with it it's
110. 16:12it's getting more and more context so you're kind of narrowing the world of words it's looking at to to serve you
111. 16:20um in a much more specific way so so it tends to get really good but yes gpt4 is really really good uh
112. 16:32Jan McCauley was laughing at something probably the dog barking I know honey did you fart I thought you farted
113. 16:40I know the dog farted it's a George Carlin routine how do you create a no no code API with chat GPT so oh how to so how I do it is with um
114. 16:55zapier so zapier and zapier added this didn't work yesterday we'll see if we'll see if it does today um zapier added
115. 17:08um an AI generating tool that's in beta right now last night it didn't work so let's see if it works tonight nope [Music]
116. 17:19so how's zapier works let me go back I'm going to create a new zap or I'll just show you one that I've already built
117. 17:25so this is a thing that I wrote called The Challenge engine so let me go show you what it is first [Laughter]
118. 17:38let's get a Content evolution.net okay so I'm the chief generative officer for this organization called content
119. 17:47Evolution and we created this thing called The Challenge engine and it's basically just a Google form and it asks
120. 17:54you your first name your email then your business category then share a business challenge that you're facing what are
121. 18:00the force forces driving that change how is this challenge impacting your business and you know what what results
122. 18:07would you see if the challenge was addressed right so so you give it a challenge and then what it responds with
123. 18:14let me go over to the old Gmail [Music] here I call them to save the day any jet xers in the house anyone know who that was
124. 18:31all right uh um let's go challenge engine so what's going on we've updated our terms of service okay I'm pretty sure I
125. 18:47just gave away all my privacy to Microsoft Okay so so you you answer some questions in that form in like 30
126. 18:54seconds later it sends you back this email that that gives you an initial kind of uh analysis of what you asked
127. 19:02for and then in I think it's six different categories it gives you three questions you should be considering so
128. 19:09here's strategic considerations here's what you should ask be asking yourself about your customers your brand implications and this is all
129. 19:16personalized to the challenge that you put in um so so the the challenge here was the quality of your question uh wait you asked about
130. 19:25um I would like to file a patent for an invention of mine um and then so this asks a bunch of questions about the patent
131. 19:32um you know let's see what organizational changes will you need to make in order to ensure the success of your invention okay so that's
132. 19:42what the thing does so how does it do that so you go to zapier and zapier it's kind of like a pile of Lego blocks so so each one of these
133. 19:53um horizontal bars is basically a different Lego block and then and it kind of goes in order so the first one
134. 19:59is it takes the input from the Google form so if you open this up there's you know like here's the the form you used
135. 20:07it's like we're using the content Evolution challenge engine and then it brings the input from that form and then
136. 20:13the next thing down is the open AI um prompt that gets sent over to open AI so I've got a really complicated prompt
137. 20:23in here because we're looking for sophisticated output and then like all these little um Fields right here these are the the
138. 20:31data from the form so so Step One is pull the data in from the form step two is stick that data into this bigger
139. 20:39prompt and then send that off to open Ai and then get back an answer for that so the first thing is I get back the content
140. 20:45and then the second thing I do is take that content and send that back to open Ai and have it format the HTML like it
141. 20:54can it can do all the HTML formatting too right and then I take that and I put it in the email and that gets sent and
142. 21:01then a row gets added to a spreadsheet so so this is the way I would do it uh if I were you and and it doesn't have to
143. 21:09be zapier there's one out there called make makke um that that I think is newer than zapier it looks it looks pretty slick
144. 21:18um I just figured out how to use zapier and it's been around for a while it's really janky the the problem with
145. 21:25no code tools is that in order to make them no code they have to make them complicated and janky because they're because because
146. 21:32they're trying to accommodate all people who might want to program something so they start out with this really simple
147. 21:37idea and then it just gets increasing increasingly complicated so they're janky as [ __ ] but zapier's been around
148. 21:44for [ __ ] ever so just go to YouTube look up zapier and you will probably be bored out of your mind and
149. 21:52go boy I was wish I was watching male Rosie O'Donnell fat Alec Baldwin but you won't be you'll be watching some YouTuber talking about
150. 22:03that this is inspiring thank you um this is why I bought a lot of Nvidia William Beckham good on you I hope you
151. 22:13bought it like two or two years ago or more in video they just hit a trillion dollar market cap I think they doubled
152. 22:19in the past year and then like 50 after that to a trillion um I don't have any of it that was that was not a good move because
153. 22:28I was paying attention to this stuff early enough to realize they were gonna probably be big but holy crap man they
154. 22:36seem Unstoppable at this point because it's it's tough to spin up um it's tough to spin up um chip manufacturing so
155. 22:47and like and like the thing I don't get like I just don't understand that world at all like you know why is Intel you know not
156. 22:55jumped into this game why why has AMD not jumped into this game I mean Apple Apple's actually killing it in this game
157. 23:01but it's all on their own silicon right like if you listen to their to The Vision Pro keynote that was really
158. 23:08fascinating they didn't mention the word AI once or the phrase AI the acronym um they didn't use the word metaverse once
159. 23:20so they they successfully separated themselves from the metaverse and I feel like what they did by avoiding using AI
160. 23:30was they didn't have to there were no expectations other than the fact that Siri sucks and everybody knows Siri
161. 23:36sucks and then they're like now you can just say Siri instead of hey Siri and it pops it up but um but when Apple gets into the AI game
162. 23:47it's going to be good because if if you listen a lot of what they said is oh we're really good at you know this is
163. 23:53the the neural part of our chip and we're good at machine learning and we're good at um on device inference which basically
164. 24:01means when we're doing all this magical AI stuff with these goggles we're not sending it off to a server
165. 24:07it's all being done on the chips right in that device so they're really good at it where do you get GPT for okay
166. 24:15these URLs why I have these here is for people who um are trying to figure this [ __ ] out um I'm in no way associated with these
167. 24:23although I think I should I should be at this point because you know I'm just promoting the [ __ ] out of them the top
168. 24:29one is is the official chat gbt site so you can get chat gbt for there but you need to pay for it Bing is bing.com so I have it here
169. 24:43that's not bing.com but we can go there we have the technology we have phalanges and a keyboard okay so when you go to bing.com
170. 24:52you have your search box that that if it says ask me anything that's the new super modern one and there's this chat
171. 24:58button up here and you click on the chat button and it pops open a page that looks like this this is gpt4 now
172. 25:05this is Microsoft's implementation of gpt4 but it's it's cool it's got three little modes more creative more balanced and more precise and
173. 25:15it's also connected to the Internet so I can say write me a poem about game three of the NBA finals which that was the one that jokic had a
174. 25:32uh whatever triple double and they won the game by a pretty sizable amount here's a poem about the NBA Finals so
175. 25:40the game was on the line the players were in their Prime the crowd was on their feet is the ball was in the heat
176. 25:45the Nugget sees the day Joker can Murray were on to play on display um so so that's gpt4 and then you can also go to poe.com
177. 25:58and poe.com is is a little confusing people like wait what do I do here so po.com down the left hand side you see all of
178. 26:11these things and these are all different large language models um down to chat EBT so Sage is pose uh pose thing then the next three here
179. 26:22gpt4 Claude plus and Claude plus instant you see that says subscribed you need to you need to subscribe you need to do
180. 26:30their monthly fee to get those but I'll tell you why that's a big deal and then you've got clot instant which is
181. 26:35incredibly fast and you've got GPT and then you can also make your own chat bots so I made like a sling bait Sling
182. 26:42Blade chat bot and a Yoda chat bot and Shakespeare chat bot and a mid Journey chat bot I didn't make the mid Journey
183. 26:48one but I'm I pulled it in from someone it'll write a mid-journey prompt um but you can use gpt4 here
184. 26:55if you subscribe and this one that says Claude instant 100K what that means is it's it's it's like gpt4 except well
185. 27:05it's actually more like GPT 3.5 but it's got a hundred thousand token context window and if you're new to this that
186. 27:12that shouldn't mean [ __ ] to you but basically what it means is this chat GPT has a limit as to how much text you
187. 27:19can put in it for the prompt so sometimes you're like oh I want it to analyze this work document I've got and
188. 27:26you'll copy and paste the text out of it and you paste it into chat GPT and it's like sorry I can't eat all that I'm full
189. 27:34and it just it won't deal with your [ __ ] because it's got a 4 000 token limit this Claude instant 100K has a hundred
190. 27:40thousand token limit which is 75 000 words so you could literally copy and paste an entire novel into the chat
191. 27:48window and say write me the last chapter and it will uh so that's Poe so those are where I would start or those are where I'd go to
192. 27:57get GPT for [Laughter] [Music] how can I bring Andy Kaufman back to life with chat chappie GT listen that
193. 28:07person knows here I come to save that day foreign I remember seeing that and thinking like who the [ __ ] is this what is going on
194. 28:16and then when you did all that wrestling stuff it was Andy Kaufman on Saturday Saturday Night Live by the way for those
195. 28:21of you that are youngins I successfully made the self-avatar you taught us how to do very fun awesome awesome that's super cool yeah they're
196. 28:31fun um for those of you that weren't here I can just show you what I did hang on I made an image so so you can upload a
197. 28:39picture of yourself in mid-journey and then you can get the URL for that and you can like make a Pixar character that
198. 28:45looks like you so I did that trying to figure out I got too many tabs open this is the life of ADHD all right

201. 29:19going to transform your understanding of AI so that's a synthesized voice I I cloned my voice on the site called 11
202. 29:26labs and I made that picture in mid-journey and then I went into Photoshop generative fill and I gave it
203. 29:32that that background like the Blurred out office and then I brought all that into here and basically you just take a
204. 29:38picture you take a sound file and you hit build and it does that it's this stuff's really remarkable really really remarkable all right

206. 29:56geeking out on AI and I'm rather than just going insane I'm taking the [ __ ] that's in my head and kind of dumping it
207. 30:02into my Tick Tock Channel um for two reasons one is to kind of just self-process and you know help myself get my head around this but also
208. 30:11to kind of demystify generative AI there's a lot of fear out there there's a lot of doomers as we call them there's
209. 30:17the Boomers then there's the doomers and we're Gen X we're just bitter and [ __ ] them all um but but um but the whole point of
210. 30:24this is to just share what I know and get you up to speed and hopefully get you curious and excited and things like that
211. 30:31can you use your chatbot to answer comments based off of the time stamp of the comment on Facebook can you use your chat bot to
212. 30:42answer comments yeah you could do that with you can do that with zapier so if you if you basically say to zapier like um
213. 30:55look at this Facebook Channel and then I don't know whatever the time stamp is pull whatever the comment was and then once you have
214. 31:06the data pulled in so the way the way zapier works is you've got all these Lego blocks and some of the Lego blocks
215. 31:12pull pull data in and some of the Lego blocks send data out and some of the Lego blocks process data right and so
216. 31:20it's a combination like you always start with a trigger and the trigger is someone posted on my Discord Channel or
217. 31:26someone posted on Facebook or someone you know filled out the form the Google form that you created and and then once
218. 31:33that event happens then it then it starts it's the trigger that triggers these series of Lego blocks to execute
219. 31:40um so I think you could do that with with zapier um I feel like you've been on Non-Stop for a week and he's sleeping no my
220. 31:51wife's in New York so I'm home the boys are upstairs sleeping right now I gotta drive them to Boulder in a bit
221. 31:56but um I've been just trying to put in a couple hours every night I I don't know why I'm doing this to be quite honest um it feels important
222. 32:08I I it just does so it's probably not I think it's me just you know making myself laugh but um need to find out how our tour how to
223. 32:19tour Spain with limited Mobility parents so that's something that chat gbt should be able to do quite easily so so here's a
224. 32:30fail miserably this is one of those things like let me show you chat gbt and then like an hour later you're like no
225. 32:36it's gonna be so cool when you see like when it actually works you're not even gonna believe it so this is going to be one of those um okay
226. 32:43so if you pay for chat GPT Plus you have this this version of uh chat GPT called plugins so if you click on
227. 32:51that it gives you this little pull down menu and then you have a bunch of uh what are these called plugins and then
228. 32:58you can turn them on or off you can have up to three activated um for any session so if we're in a session right now and we want to tour
229. 33:07Spain with limited Mobility um parents we're going to go to some sort of travel plug-in I think I have a travel plugin here zapier kayak
230. 33:22uh kayak might have it let's go look in the plug-in store also so I'm going to go to the plug-in store and there there
231. 33:28might be some other plugins that I don't I don't have installed and so I'm gonna I'm gonna search for the plugins I'm going to search for
232. 33:35travel oops or not the word travel travel myth experiences provides activity suggestions ensuring an engaging and friendly travel experience
233. 33:49we'll try that one experiences what's travel myth Unleashed personalized Hotel search get your guide find tours excursions and
234. 34:00other activities okay so and then there's trip.com all right we'll get grab that one too okay so so now I've got
235. 34:09um what do I have I have kayak let's get rid of kayak and let's put trip.com in there so I've got experiences getyourguide and trip.com
236. 34:20so what do they do well if you roll over them experiences like they don't give you much this this is one of the challenge
237. 34:27right now of of GPD plugins is that the interface is uh there's a technical term for it dog [ __ ] and
238. 34:36um it's really confusing so all you got to know is you can turn on three of them and basically if you have a really
239. 34:42specific thing you want to do like what you just said you go find plugins that are kind of in the neighborhood you
240. 34:48activate up to three and then you can do your search so we've got those three three things activated
241. 34:55um I want you to act as an international travel guide and agent that specializes
