3:20 happy Friday night everybody Welcome to
3:22 the AI learning
3:24 lab we'll get learning here in a minute
3:27 here's something I
3:29 learned
3:33 [Music]
3:37 those stainless steel
3:39 braided Plumbing
3:42 things
3:43 [Laughter]
3:46 suck the guy before us put them in and
3:49 when so I went to shower this morning
3:52 and there was no hot water and I went
3:54 down to the hot water heater and there
3:56 was it was there was a shower on
3:59 downstairs was going everywhere it's
4:02 like
4:05 [ __ ] so I called the plumber he told me
4:08 where the water man was which is good I
4:10 knew where it was but you know when
4:12 water is spraying you go into a bit of a
4:15 [Music]
4:25 panic and uh and I said the water heater
4:29 it's got one of these St steel woven
4:31 things he goes oh those are I don't know
4:34 why anyone uses those they always leak
4:36 it's always at the same place like where
4:39 they connect it to the thing so
4:43 anyway so luckily he came today we have
4:46 a nice
4:47 [Music]
4:49 guy if anyone's in Danville let me know
4:52 I got a good plumber for
4:59 you
5:01 pie please turn off the water that's
5:03 what I need I totally needed an
5:06 agent there's no hot water oops it's
5:09 raining in the
5:11 basement all the systems shut down oh
5:15 man how is everybody happy happy uh
5:18 happy
5:19 Friday
5:21 happy Happy Date
5:24 Night hopefully you're out on a date and
5:27 listening to me in one ear and
5:28 pretending to listen in the other oh
5:30 that's very interesting
5:43 Barbara at least I cracked myself
5:45 [Laughter]
5:49 up he just didn't seem like he was
5:51 listening to
5:54 me he said it was the hearing
5:58 aid
6:03 Barbara now listen Barbara she is a
6:06 little paranoid it doesn't mean she's
6:08 wrong he might have been listening to
6:11 the AI learning
6:17 lab oh lordy lordy lordy ain't no
6:22 Applebees Meetup worth it
6:28 anymore
6:32 welcome to
6:37 chachis oh my God
6:48 Oho okay so so what we do here so okay
6:53 so here's how this going to all right
6:55 let's get serious here people we got to
6:56 learning to do or not
7:03 um if you're curious about AI we'll talk
7:07 about
7:09 that I'll probably get a little little
7:11 philosophical tonight I made a video if
7:13 you haven't seen it my latest
7:15 video is
7:18 uh is a declaration of who I
7:21 am and you're like well that seems
7:26 weird this [ __ ] happens when you when
7:29 you get you know when you get someone
7:35 who I don't
7:37 know who is like
7:39 me so so I'm in this I'm in this I guess
7:44 it's a workshop it's like a three Monon
7:46 long
7:47 thing
7:50 and we're about Midway through it so I'm
7:52 starting to have some breakthroughs
7:54 which is cool it's good and it's it's a
7:57 lot about like who are you being in the
7:58 world who are you like how are you
8:00 showing up who are you being and when
8:03 all those thoughts come in your
8:05 head which one of the things I've
8:08 learned is we have 50,000 thoughts a day
8:10 fly through these large language models
8:12 between our
8:14 ears and so a lot of the work that we
8:16 did is paying attention to the [ __ ]
8:19 flying through your
8:22 head and then rather than trying to
8:24 psychoanalyze it and do all that happy
8:26 horse [ __ ] you just notice it and you TR
8:29 it back
8:32 upstream and so if you're thinking like
8:35 oh they don't like me or oh I screwed up
8:37 or oh you know some de-energizing
8:39 thought you kind of go upstream and
8:41 say who are you
8:44 being when you're thinking
8:48 that
8:51 oh I'm
8:54 being inferior I'm being wrong I'm being
8:57 a dumb Dum I'm being right
9:01 and then you get a
9:06 chance if you're conscious of it to
9:09 forgive yourself for judging yourself as
9:12 being
9:14 that and then you get to choose a new
9:16 thing so who do I want to be who am I
9:21 being and so so I made a video about
9:24 that and it was it was um it was weird
9:29 because because this channel is like
9:31 it's like comedy It's Entertainment it's
9:34 we're we're learning AI
9:36 ye you
9:40 know and so none of that goes
9:43 away but I was like so so part of our
9:47 homework for the next two weeks is
9:50 really integrating this new sort of set
9:53 of
9:56 declarations and integrating looks like
9:59 tell your your significant other and
10:01 tell your kids and tell your parents and
10:03 tell your
10:04 siblings and there's even one in there
10:06 tell a
10:09 stranger so I thought well I got 33,000
10:13 of them that follow the channel let me
10:16 start with that which by the way I'm not
10:17 off the hook for having to do this for
10:18 for a Stranger In the Flesh by the way
10:22 but I thought why not why not cuz I
10:24 think you know a lot of what we talk
10:26 about in here anyway has nothing to do
10:29 with technology ology right this is
10:31 about who we're
10:32 being as human beings right we have
10:36 these tools we have these amazing
10:38 remarkable powerful tools that are this
10:41 weird sort of
10:44 hallucinogenic reflection of humanity
10:47 right that a large language model is
10:50 we're we're interacting with kind of all
10:52 of the people that came before us so a
10:55 lot of the stuff we're talking about
10:56 here is fairly fairly philosophical
10:59 right
11:00 you know without the degree I have an
11:01 acting degree so I'm close it you know
11:04 it is financially nearly as rewarding as
11:06 a Philosophy
11:07 degree I was happy to hear your love
11:09 language isn't shame anymore the video
11:11 is awesome thank you cuno yeah you know
11:14 the the shame is my love language thing
11:16 like it's a good joke like if you know
11:18 if I were going to do standup that would
11:19 be a joke I'd lead I'd lead with
11:22 probably or you know I'd have it
11:23 somewhere in there it's a good joke
11:27 but one of the things things
11:30 that you all have done for
11:34 me is if you go watch any of the early
11:37 videos that like from you know May June
11:41 July because I was nervous because you
11:45 know I'm insecure like we like we all we
11:47 all have the [ __ ]
11:49 right I did a lot of self
11:52 self-deprecating humor and a lot of you
11:56 Irregulars who you know have have been
11:59 coming for a while when I would do that
12:02 [ __ ] you'd go you know Kyle why don't
12:04 you not do
12:05 that and it sunk in and I was like yeah
12:09 I don't need to do that like I don't
12:10 need to apologize for who I am so
12:12 there's been like I've been in on on a
12:15 kind of transition through this anyway
12:18 you know largely inspired by you and
12:20 there's something about doing this
12:22 regularly that has freed me a bit
12:27 from well what if I do something stupid
12:29 what if I do something shitty
12:33 well who
12:36 cares nobody [ __ ]
12:38 cares there's a great saying there's a
12:41 great saying I think it
12:44 was is it Truman capot no no it was uh
12:49 not Truman capot
12:52 um oh [ __ ] English writer Oscar
12:57 wild I don't know know who I don't know
12:59 who said it we can find out on chat
13:02 gbt but the the saying is you'd be a lot
13:07 less worried about what people think of
13:08 you when you realize how little they
13:10 actually
13:11 do which is true everyone's in their own
13:15 [ __ ] everyone's got their own thing
13:17 going on um how did it feel to make that
13:19 were you nervous I was I was a bit
13:21 nervous but I got to tell you
13:23 the how how we how the how the how the
13:27 work has gone
13:30 this and you know and I maybe I'll read
13:33 them I mean here they are these are
13:35 these are
13:36 them it's a it's it's a set of index
13:39 cards and these these sort of flowed
13:42 naturally out
13:44 of
13:47 um
13:49 mining these de de energizing
13:54 thoughts and it's not good or bad it's
13:56 de energizing or energizing you either
13:58 have energizing thoughts ones that light
14:00 you up and you go forward which a lot of
14:02 this AI [ __ ] is in that direction or you
14:05 have de-energizing
14:09 thoughts and so in mining
14:11 them you kind of look at it and as you
14:14 can imagine you see
14:17 patterns it's like it's all the same
14:19 [ __ ] right we all made some decision
14:22 when we were five that's still driving
14:24 our life today and it's not about it's
14:27 not about finding
14:30 that trauma and dealing with the trauma
14:32 it's just say because because who I am
14:37 today
14:39 is is because of who I've been right
14:45 it's not a bad thing right it might be
14:48 deenergized thoughts but like that's how
14:50 I got here it's how I got
14:53 successful and so what the work is about
14:55 is about just get conscious about it and
14:57 then you can choose and the minute you
14:59 have Choice all sorts of cool [ __ ]
15:05 happens and so and then you know so you
15:09 kind of you kind of figure out these
15:12 little
15:13 thoughts and then
15:15 you forgive yourself for it's it's a
15:19 it's a real it's it's really interesting
15:20 work you don't forgive yourself for
15:23 being that thing you forgive yourself
15:25 for judging yourself as that and you let
15:29 go to the
15:30 Judgment so you know I forgive myself
15:33 for judging myself as being an idiot as
15:37 being less than as being inferior as
15:39 being
15:40 invisible and the new truth
15:43 is and then you write something and so
15:47 you do that for a whole bunch of these
15:48 and you stick them on cards and then you
15:50 say them out loud and you put them in in
15:52 an order and you basically you tell a
15:55 story and so this is my this is my story
15:58 so
16:00 I think I may I may share it judgment
16:03 blocks connection oh does it ever
16:06 especially self-judgment holy [ __ ] holy
16:11 [ __ ] it's like all we do all
16:14 day he's an [ __ ] I'm a jerk I'm a
16:16 loser they're a
16:18 loser right and if you're neuros spicy
16:22 that shits on [ __ ]
16:26 overtime I'm invisible there you go
16:29 I'm
16:30 invisible that was one of my big ones
16:34 I'm
16:34 invisible I'm
16:38 inferior I'm broken
16:43 I'm all that
16:50 stuff and it's it's all day every T you
16:53 know all the time all day all the
16:57 time your brain is
17:00 constantly having
17:03 thoughts and this work is about all
17:06 right if you have one that [ __ ] you up
17:09 it's de
17:11 energizing notice it Go
17:14 Upstream then choose a new way so anyway
17:18 should I read
17:20 these we like that you share your story
17:23 with us oh thank you very much I
17:25 appreciate that you're listening to the
17:27 demons we all listen to the demon
17:30 Spike we all listen to the
17:33 demons and we listen to the
17:38 angels we listen to our truth and we
17:40 listen to our
17:46 [ __ ] and a lot of the stuff that
17:48 gets us here is the stuff we're actually
17:51 we actually
17:53 believe we know we're not good
17:56 at that's why we do it more and more and
17:59 more to try to convince
18:00 ourselves Sherry D thank you so much
18:04 Kyle write a GPT that helps people write
18:06 their cards um I don't listen I'm I'm I
18:09 am halfway through halfway through a
18:11 program I'm I'm very much a beginner I
18:14 think there's a lot of work to do after
18:16 the cards but uh you know let let me let
18:19 me get a little further down the thing I
18:20 don't I I don't want to go into the uh
18:23 into the the coaching realm just yet
18:25 although I suppose I'm doing it here but
18:27 it's different kind of coaching
18:30 you know it's you know in a in a lot of
18:32 ways in a lot of
18:34 ways what we're doing here is
18:39 like if you think you're not good enough
18:43 to be doing AI or if you think you're
18:46 not smart enough or if you're not
18:47 technical enough or you're not you're
18:49 too far behind or all that all I'm doing
18:52 is going how about this is another way
18:54 of being [ __ ] that [ __ ] do it anyway
18:59 I'm I'm just sort of brute forcing this
19:01 community forward Kyle did you watch the
19:04 Tony Robbins YouTube Summit no I didn't
19:07 wait was that today I didn't I didn't
19:08 watch it today I saw it I I almost did
19:10 it but I'm in the middle of this thing
19:12 and I didn't want to I didn't want to C
19:14 cross the
19:16 beams um but I did I did uh Tony Robbins
19:20 thing in the in the early 90s then I did
19:24 The Forum in the
19:25 mid90s so I've done some [ __ ] um
19:30 a lot of the stuff is the same stuff
19:32 this work is actually I'm I'm really
19:34 liking this work because it
19:40 is one one of the things about Tony
19:42 Robbins work that I just I could never
19:45 crack was he's like you know you get
19:49 clear on what you want and you you know
19:50 you do your neural linguistic
19:52 programming and then you just take the
19:53 actions and if you take the actions
19:55 you'll get
19:56 there and then but what happens when you
20:00 go three weeks without taking the
20:02 actions like you know where's the like I
20:04 could never deal with the the there
20:06 there was something always in the way
20:08 and and what it was what I'm learning is
20:10 is who I was
20:12 being and it's like if if you're the
20:15 guy that has judged yourself as being a
20:21 loser and the loser is the one setting
20:24 the
20:26 goals then the loser is going to
20:29 accomplish loser
20:33 things so so it doesn't it doesn't
20:37 matter what the system is what's the
20:39 program uh can I ask what you're
20:41 studying I don't
20:42 know um if if you're interested um reach
20:46 out to me the the man I work with is a
20:49 really smart guy he actually
20:52 designed storyvine sales process guy
20:55 named towns and Ward law um I only think
20:58 he does this work for men and he he
21:00 actually talked about today that today
21:02 cuz I didn't know like why only men and
21:03 basically what he was saying was he he
21:06 because he's he's a man he wants to do
21:07 it with with people like with who he
21:12 understands but I don't know he might
21:13 have something for women but I don't
21:15 know
21:17 um but but it's it's fascinating work
21:20 and I'm digging it it's called
21:23 create
21:26 wait what create your
21:30 create your exceptional life experience
21:32 is what the program is
21:35 called um you're healed I don't know
21:37 that I'm Healed so so here's the thing
21:39 that that you
21:43 know we're never healed right these
21:47 these machines are always life's tough
21:51 stuff for me stupid um these machines
21:53 are always going right one of the things
21:55 they talk about in The Forum is you know
21:57 we are we are are story making machines
22:00 right so your brain's always going and
22:03 then you have default ways this this has
22:06 been wired for mine for 58 years it it's
22:09 default ways so a lot of this stuff is
22:12 automatic you know I walk into a room
22:15 someone looks a certain way boom it
22:19 right like it happens whatever it is you
22:21 have the thoughts you know oh that guy's
22:24 a douchebag he's a silver spoon he's a
22:26 like whatever it is right
22:30 um and so this work is just about
22:32 noticing that and then
22:35 choosing like if if it's if it's
22:37 de-energizing like if the thoughts are
22:39 fine the thoughts are fine but if it's
22:42 de energizing and it's not working for
22:44 you then it's about okay let's dissect
22:48 what the thought is let's go
22:50 Upstream let's do it so all right so
22:54 I'll I'll share this so so any anyone
22:56 stumbling into this Tik Tok is going to
22:58 go what the [ __ ] is this which they
23:01 probably doing already so it's all
23:08 right healing is a Perpetual process
23:11 exactly it's an ongoing
23:13 thing and it's very active I mean that's
23:16 the other thing I like about this is
23:17 it's
23:19 not is it's not oh you figured it out
23:23 you're done right it's a practice it's a
23:27 practice
23:31 you know someone says something in a in
23:33 a comment here or something happens at
23:36 work or we just had we just had a client
23:40 we had four different bugs for a single
23:43 client for for my company Story vine
23:45 took us two weeks to fix the first two
23:48 and then and then we discovered the the
23:50 next two in fixing the first two we
23:52 discovered the next
23:54 two
23:57 um and like I just by default take it
24:01 personally think I'm a piece of [ __ ] I'm
24:04 convinced that my company's horrible
24:05 that we're horrible people it's just
24:08 it's just it's like the default of where
24:10 I
24:12 go and so 3 months from now when I've
24:15 when I'm all mastered my cards up and
24:17 everything like that and we have a bug
24:19 in our
24:20 software do you think it's not going to
24:23 be like instantly what I feel of course
24:27 it's going to be what I feel that's how
24:29 that's how this brain does what it does
24:31 for 58 years the difference hopefully
24:33 now is I go oh there's one of
24:36 those let me let me run this little
24:38 program let me run through the script
24:40 forgive myself for judging myself as
24:42 here's the new truth and then here's the
24:46 new here's who I am remind myself of who
24:49 I am choose to
24:54 be who I want to be choose to be not
24:57 just be unconsciously who I've
25:00 been I live life out loud and make a
25:02 huge difference where I show
25:04 up my time and focus means it
25:08 matters I light up every room I enter no
25:12 apologies no

27:16 moment I see beauty love and possibility
27:20 everywhere especially inside
27:22 myself I am
27:25 perfect I am an artist
27:40 thank
27:44 you that's very sweet thank
27:48 you it's heavy
27:52 [ __ ] that
27:54 phrase I am an
27:57 artist
27:59 that one [ __ ] broke
28:07 me it was funny Townsen in one of our
28:09 meetings townzen asked
28:12 me he said Kyle what do you do and we
28:15 were talking about professional
28:17 stuff what do you
28:21 do and I said I don't
28:25 know and he said yeah are artists
28:28 artists can never answer that
28:37 question and then he he had
28:39 me write down that I was an artist and
28:42 say it and it [ __ ] crushed
28:51 me CU I think I've spent my
28:56 life
29:02 playing an artist knowing that I'm
29:04 really
29:07 not and what I discovered doing this
29:10 work is that no I really
29:12 am and now I have the opportunity to own
29:18 that that's pretty [ __ ]
29:21 intense
29:26 so
29:29 yeah thought you thought it was all
29:30 going to be fun and games tonight
29:43 huh all right Cherry D you're a
29:46 beautiful artist thank you very much do
29:49 you want to be my Valentine I don't know
29:51 Mr it I I think I'm okay but I'll be all
29:54 all your
29:55 Valentine's Valentine's Day is my
29:57 anniversary
29:58 so so I'm going to have to I might I
30:01 might have to I might have to skip that
30:03 one or do it a I'm going to have to
30:05 arrange
30:06 it oh
30:09 man but that's powerful [ __ ] you know
30:13 like
30:14 really really understanding like what
30:17 you have not let yourself be what what
30:20 you have not let yourself be but kind of
30:26 celebrating
30:30 celebrating that that's what's gotten
30:32 you
30:34 here I think several of us feel exactly
30:37 the same way you're in good company yeah
30:38 I know well I think that's what's that's
30:40 that's what's magical about about this
30:42 Channel and about about the salon is
30:49 um you know what's really [ __ ]
30:55 cool with the exception of pate we don't
30:57 really talk about the
31:00 tech Pate wants to talk about the tech
31:03 but even Pate who wants to talk about
31:05 the te Tech shows up
31:07 here you know he's not showing up at a
31:10 Google engineering Tik Tock he's not
31:14 showing up well he might be but he's but
31:16 he's also showing up
31:18 here there's something here that
31:24 is I I don't know I don't know
31:28 but I like it I think it's important I
31:31 think it's really
31:35 important it's really really important
31:37 had are really good office hours today
31:39 on
31:42 LinkedIn we we talked a lot about a lot
31:46 about just you know what is this Tech
31:50 and what are we doing Milo's wife I'm
31:52 embracing being an artist when I always
31:54 thought that my parents were but I was
31:58 not
32:00 yeah yeah what happens what happens when
32:06 technology gives you
32:09 access to
32:11 Knowledge and
32:13 Skills and capabilities and capacity
32:17 that you knew in your heart you would
32:20 never
32:21 have that you had
32:24 accepted I'll never be a musician I'll
32:27 never be an artist I'll never live that
32:30 dream out I'm fine I've accepted it I'll
32:34 be the Cog and the corporate machine
32:36 I'll do the work I'm a responsible
32:39 person I didn't have the talent what
32:46 happens when we gain
32:50 access to technology that spits in the
32:53 eye of that
32:56 reality that that's what [ __ ] AI
32:59 is that's what this
33:06 is that's highest to use GPT manifest
33:09 your dream it's about using using a
33:12 mental diet and being in a state of mind
33:15 of of of having a wish fulfilled yeah
33:18 yeah that's
33:21 beautiful and
33:25 so when I started this Channel what I
33:28 knew it was was talk about the tools
33:32 talk about the tools oh there's this
33:34 tool to do this and there's that tool to
33:36 do that and there's that tool to do that
33:39 and and I thought it was about
33:43 efficiency and I listen to Rachel woods
33:46 and I'm like oh it's about okay it's
33:47 about it's about operations and it's
33:48 about efficiency because that's what
33:50 computers have always been about right
33:53 here's a new tool to make you more
33:55 efficient to do the shitty work that
33:58 this company needs
34:00 done in exchange for not enough money
34:03 and shitty health
34:05 insurance Christy I'm so glad you shared
34:07 this tonight of all
34:15 nights I really needed to hear
34:19 this
34:26 good
34:30 and the funny thing that happened on the
34:31 Way to the Forum not that
34:39 Forum
34:45 was I learned that what makes AI so
34:52 profound is that the
34:55 efficiency is just like the tip of the
34:58 iceberg like the efficiency is just
35:01 like it's like yeah whatever yeah yeah
35:04 oh yeah I can do that [ __ ] faster the
35:07 [ __ ] that takes you 6 hours a day that
35:09 you [ __ ] despise yeah I'll take care
35:12 of that I got you I'll do that in five
35:19 minutes what do you do with the other 5
35:24 hours if these machines do the shitty
35:27 work work in an hour that used to take
35:29 you six what do you do with the 5
35:33 hours and what we're all discovering in
35:36 here I think together as a community and
35:38 on the on the AI Salon
35:42 is any [ __ ] thing I
35:46 want it's like oh [ __ ] how do I process
35:52 that I told myself for 40 years I wasn't
35:55 an artist I told myself for 55 years I
35:58 wasn't a
36:00 musician I told myself for 37 years I
36:03 wasn't good at math I told myself for 22
36:06 years I'd never amount to anything with
36:08 computer
36:10 programming well guess
36:12 what now you can do that be careful what
36:15 you ask for
36:18 right we're no different from the man in
36:21 Italy um who was told he could not walk
36:23 but now with AI he can exactly
36:29 he thinks
36:30 things here's how I used to move my legs
36:34 they take those signals they Bluetooth
36:36 it around his injury zip and now his
36:39 legs start
36:42 moving that Amelia's wife that's a
36:44 really good analogy
36:46 right just just living life we have all
36:50 made compromises we have all
36:53 chosen with with the with very few
36:56 exceptions right right you know
36:59 0.001% of people know who they are
37:03 believe in it have the support structure
37:05 have the mental
37:08 health to pursue their dream and go and
37:10 even their journey I guarantee
37:13 you is full of [ __ ] and nonsense and
37:17 compromises so so it's a universal
37:20 condition that we have all given up
37:24 something and we have all at some point
37:26 told ourselves
37:27 you're not that I judge you as not an
37:37 artist and then these tools are coming
37:40 along that are defying
37:44 that so I I I think this this is not
37:48 about technology it's weird it's I I I
37:51 thought this early in the year and I
37:53 couldn't quite process it I I kept
37:55 feeling like I think the robot are going
37:57 to free us like I think I think these
38:01 Technologies are going to make us better
38:03 people and I did and I I couldn't get my
38:06 head around what that meant it was just
38:09 like this Instinct like I feel like I'm
38:12 becoming a better person I feel like I'm
38:14 becoming a more creative person I know
38:16 I'm becoming more self-expressed I know
38:18 I'm becoming more
38:26 competent
38:32 you
38:38 know so what do you do with
38:43 that why do people keep coming back
38:47 here cuz I think we're all discovering
38:50 some version of that in real time and
38:52 it's
38:53 like it isn't about the tools anymore
38:56 it's not about the tools
39:06 it's it it like like it really does it
39:08 really does come down to like what do
39:09 you
39:11 want what do you
39:15 want and the frustrating thing about the
39:17 tools right now is they're not good
39:18 enough to live up to the promise right
39:21 like we're be we're being like spoon I I
39:24 wrote down the the uh I wrote down the
39:28 thing that Sam mman said at the Davos at
39:32 the Davos thing last week he said gp4 is
39:36 best understood as a
39:39 preview and then he said progress here
39:42 is not
39:44 linear thank you very much for the gifts
39:47 thank you for sharing you've touched
39:48 this old guy's heart tonight thank
39:54 you was that
39:59 GPT is best understood as a
40:03 preview progress here is not
40:06 linear
40:07 so we in this Channel at the AI Salon
40:12 anyone who is leaning into AI right
40:15 now is getting the
40:18 gift of a preview of what's about to
40:25 come
40:34 it's a
40:35 preview if this is a preview what's the
40:38 [ __ ] real
40:41 deal
40:43 right if this is a
40:45 preview what happens when these things
40:47 can reason what happens when they don't
40:49 make mistakes what happens them when
40:51 they can do all of your work for you and
40:54 you're free to use them in any way you
40:57 want what happens when you have 10,000
41:01 agents dynamically created on your
41:03 behalf to do any [ __ ] thing you
41:07 want what do you then choose to do with
41:10 your
41:22 time like never in my life have I been
41:26 have I felt like this close
41:33 to to that
41:36 possibility what if you could do what
41:37 you
41:39 wanted well then that begs the question
41:41 what do you want oh [ __ ] I've been
41:44 hiding
41:45 behind all of this bitching and whining
41:48 and moaning about horrible how horrible
41:50 my life is thank you very
41:52 much because I'm doing this Cog in the
41:55 machine kind kind of [ __ ] work but I
41:58 don't have any other skills and I've
41:59 denied myself things that I enjoy
42:02 because this is how it played out in my
42:08 life well what if the play just
42:12 changed like what what do we
42:17 do and there's a there's just a there's
42:20 there's a [ __ ] joy in this community
42:24 and like we' we've been talking about
42:26 this on our calls there's a joy in this
42:29 community that
42:33 is I just think it's
42:37 like we're not so much a inspired that
42:41 the tech does what the tech does we're
42:44 all
42:45 inspired that the tech is giving us a
42:49 part of ourselves back that we didn't
42:52 think we could ever get
42:55 back
42:58 Source camp
43:00 today it's funny I've I've been talking
43:02 about this AI stuff like I I keep saying
43:06 well I'm I'm I'm as creative like you
43:08 know creatively engaged as I ever was in
43:10 my 20s and Source camp today said
43:19 um I have the same creative spirit I had
43:22 when I was five or
43:24 eight and the m she said it I'm like
43:29 yes I'm not as creative as I was in my
43:31 20s I was already all [ __ ] up in my
43:34 20s I've got I've got [ __ ] firing in my
43:38 brain that's like that 5-year-old
43:41 optimism with 58-year-old
43:47 experience and not just optimism like
43:49 Wonder you know that 5-year-old like
43:51 everything's a
43:52 [ __ ] look at this
43:55 [ __ ] never seen a roller coaster before
43:59 that's a magician he did real magic
44:02 H that
44:05 spirit is what it feels
44:09 [Applause]
44:12 like we're entering an era where where
44:17 all of the [ __ ] that's been beaten out
44:19 of us for however long we've been on the
44:22 planet there's the
44:24 possibility that we get to side step
44:27 around that and just choose another path
44:31 just [ __ ] it I'm an artist now how you
44:35 going to make money I don't
44:37 know you can make
44:39 money maybe I'll tell other people how
44:42 to get out of their shitty job quit it
44:45 with
44:46 joy I don't
44:54 know I'm the third grader before anyone
44:57 told her she couldn't do anything an
44:59 Murphy or she before she couldn't draw
45:02 yep exactly that's that's
45:06 yes and that third grader when they told
45:09 her she couldn't draw okay Ann Murphy oh
45:11 okay story time this is all story time
45:15 tonight isn't
45:18 it I'll tell you the story of why me
45:23 calling myself an artist is so hard
45:28 um when I was
45:31 in third
45:34 grade no fifth
45:36 grade fifth grade
45:39 yeah end to fourth grade end of fourth
45:42 grade going into fifth
45:45 grade my parents got divorced when I was
45:48 five my dad was in the Air
45:51 Force
45:53 and I think sometime in fourth grade
45:56 grade I went to visit my dad for the
45:59 summer my
46:00 stepmom my step brother my step
46:04 sister and I called my mom at the end of
46:07 the summer and said I don't want to come
46:08 home I want to stay
46:11 here and she was devastated but she let
46:14 me stay and
46:16 so I had to go to a new school and I had
46:18 to get tested for a new
46:20 school and so they had one of
46:23 those
46:25 books you give the kid a book they you
46:28 know there's questions you answer
46:30 there's [ __ ] you fill
46:34 out and I
46:37 remember there was this one part of the
46:40 test that was a grid it was like a 8 by8
46:46 grid and I had color pencils and the the
46:49 counselor
46:51 person said you know here's the colored
46:55 pencils fill in the
46:58 grid I was like
47:01 okay and my mom at the time was into
47:04 barello I don't know if you remember
47:06 barello from the 70s but it was a needle
47:08 point it was a very geometric needle
47:11 point and
47:15 so I took the colored pencils and I made
47:18 this really cool barello pattern this
47:20 really cool geometric
47:22 pattern and I was really proud of
47:25 it
47:27 and then
47:29 the the counselor
47:32 person for whatever reason at some point
47:35 they were talking to me and they were
47:37 looking at my thing and looking at my
47:38 drawing and looking and and they left
47:40 the
47:41 room and when they left the
47:45 room she
47:47 left the grading
47:52 book for the for the test and she left
47:55 it open to the page that had the drawing
47:58 on
47:59 it and I picked it up and it said if if
48:05 the drawing looks like this and it
48:07 looked exactly like mine it was this
48:09 geometric
48:11 pattern it
48:13 said it is the sign of a less creative
48:17 mind than if it looks like this and it
48:19 was
48:25 chaos and that [ __ ] broke my
48:30 heart and in that moment I chose chaos
48:35 for my
48:37 life it's like you're not going to tell
48:40 me I'm not
48:42 creative but you know what I knew what I
48:45 judged myself as what I judged myself as
48:48 that this work is
48:49 about not
48:52 creative I
48:55 knew
48:57 I saw the test I saw
49:00 the this is what the adults said if it
49:03 looks like this it's the sign of a less
49:05 creative mind than if it looks like
49:09 this and so my entire [ __ ]
49:13 life has been about
49:15 proving that I'm
49:18 creative knowing deep down inside that
49:21 I'm
49:22 not that's some [ __ ] up [ __ ] right
49:28 and
49:29 yet and this is where this current work
49:32 gets really powerful
49:35 because it's not that that was a bad
49:39 thing I'm as creative today as I am
49:43 because of that
49:45 moment that moment gave me my life all
49:50 of
49:54 this and now
49:57 what this work is is I get to choose
50:00 what if I could choose to go oh I
50:04 forgive myself for judging myself as not
50:09 creative and I'm going to [ __ ] kick
50:11 some
50:13 ass I'm an
50:15 artist and own
50:18 that why
50:24 not
50:34 Chris you're an exact mirror of many of
50:36 us
50:43 yeah these large language models between
50:45 our ears are some pretty [ __ ] up
50:47 technology talk about
50:49 [Laughter]
50:53 hallucinating talk about a janky piece
50:55 of of
50:57 [ __ ] right oh my
51:05 God what are you doing Friday night oh I
51:08 don't know I think I'll go bear my soul
51:11 in front of 100 people or
51:12 [Laughter]
51:17 so do you have some sort of psychology
51:20 Channel nah it's
51:24 AI
51:27 ah but this all tracks for me like this
51:29 all this this all tracks this like this
51:36 is there's a reason that people that
51:38 actually try AI look my glasses are
51:40 getting all fogged up there's a reason
51:42 that people that try AI can't seem to
51:45 leave it you know the I wish I could
51:47 quit you I wish I could quit you
51:54 um
51:57 we're getting we're getting to play with
51:58 a preview of what's to come
52:01 and the preview is really [ __ ]
52:03 remarkable right one teacher told me
52:07 don't do cartooning and cartoonist
52:10 exactly and and you know what I bet
52:12 you're a brilliant cartoonist and
52:14 probably the better you get at
52:15 cartooning the less it fulfills you
52:18 because like you you like somewhere deep
52:20 in there is that [ __ ] going you
52:22 you'll never be a cartoonist and you're
52:24 like I'm going to prove that
52:25 [ __ ] you're wrong this is why
52:27 people like get wildly successful and
52:30 the more successful they get the less
52:32 happy they are because the more they
52:34 have the success the further is it is
52:36 away from who they know they are which
52:38 is not a cartoonist so like you know
52:40 you're winning cartoon Awards and you
52:43 know being published in magazines all
52:45 around the world you're like but I'm not
52:46 really a cartoonist you know it's like
52:48 these things are doing
52:52 this yeah and I think and and I think we
52:55 we we all have some version of that and
52:57 and then we also there's there's also
52:59 the very real thing
53:02 of I could never be a
53:05 cartoonist I just don't have the
53:08 skills but now I
53:12 do and and when I think about making
53:16 music I look at someone like Jacob ker
53:19 who's like [ __ ] Mozart he's like
53:20 modern day Mozart right the the man is
53:24 like I I call I want to call him a boy
53:26 cuz he's so young looking but he's he's
53:27 just [ __ ]
53:29 brilliant I look at someone like him and
53:31 like I can't I will never like he's got
53:33 Perfect Pitch he can do multi- tamber I
53:36 saw a thing the other day he was doing
53:38 poly five poly rhythms with each finger
53:42 on a single hand I couldn't even I
53:45 couldn't even hear what he was doing I'm
53:47 like well I can't be a musician well
53:49 [ __ ] it now I
53:52 can I have ADHD so I can't be an
53:55 engineer here well now I
53:58 can all the [ __ ] that either you know we
54:03 were squashed down and told ourselves we
54:05 couldn't do or we just didn't have the
54:06 talent or resources or training or life
54:09 experience to
54:11 do what if that's all just ripped to the
54:14 sides and you just get to go what do I
54:16 want and then you're going to be able to
54:18 do
54:21 that that's the preview in we're in the
54:23 middle of so
54:29 woo Megan you're more than an artist you
54:32 are an inspiration thank you so
54:37 much this is a a hard thing for me is is
54:42 hearing back
54:46 um that reflection I appreciate it it's
54:49 hard to it's it's hard to
54:53 accept it's not hard to accept it is it
54:57 is uncomfortable to accept because I
54:59 have told myself that I am none of
55:04 that it's one of the Insidious things
55:06 about about this sort of you know brain
55:09 [ __ ] we
55:12 do is when you know deep inside that
55:14 you're not something and then someone
55:16 tells you you
55:19 are it's really hard to
55:23 hear cuz I know the truth
55:26 I know what I'm
55:27 not you really are you have inspired my
55:30 entire family because of this channel oh
55:32 my god
55:33 wow wow awesome thank
55:42 you but how do you make money with cha
55:45 [Laughter]
55:53 P can we even hand handle what we really
55:56 want Source Camp exactly life stuff
55:59 stuff
56:03 stupid I don't
56:05 know I don't know I mean some of us will
56:08 some of us
56:15 won't I think I think though if we can
56:18 get to if we can individually get to
56:21 that
56:23 childhood spirit
56:27 before all the [ __ ] got shut
56:30 down before daddy said he you're not
56:33 really that talented are
56:37 you before mommy said oh good I didn't
56:40 really want you to do that anyway I I my
56:42 mom at one
56:45 point I didn't speak to her for eight
56:48 years she made this
56:52 comment I was living in New York City
56:56 pursuing a life and
57:00 acting I'd started and run a theater
57:03 company was just doing all sorts of side
57:05 job
57:07 hustles and it just wasn't
57:10 happening and I took a day job or I took
57:14 a job like a job job not like a hustle
57:17 like when you're an actor you take
57:18 hustle jobs right cuz you're going to be
57:19 working so much you got to have
57:22 flexibility and I wasn't working and I
57:24 wasn't motiv ated and [ __ ] wasn't
57:26 happening and I and I took a job and I
57:29 called my
57:33 mom and I was pretty
57:36 devastated and I said Mom I took a job
57:39 and her response was oh thank
57:44 God I didn't talk to her for eight years
57:46 after
57:52 that eight
57:54 years
57:56 because what I heard was you were never
57:59 an actor anyway you know when I when I
58:03 ultimately talked to her she was like no
58:05 no I just I was worried for my boy like
58:07 I was glad he was going to eat right it
58:09 was from her point of view it was very
58:11 simple thing but I had all this meaning
58:14 on it and I had what I thought was one
58:18 kind of relationship with her and she
58:20 decimated it in that moment so those
58:24 moments
58:26 if we can if we can set those to the
58:30 side and get in touch with whatever the
58:33 spirit was before all that [ __ ] happened
58:35 and go well what do I really want what
58:37 would make me
58:39 happy because all the
58:46 skills all the skills are just right
58:48 there waiting for us in preview form as
58:52 Sam mman
58:53 says I have transform myself watching
58:56 your lives used to used to bot host
58:59 boring game now back to being the artist
59:04 awesome that's great yeah yeah that
59:11 that yeah you know what it is oh maybe
59:14 this is it and and maybe this is maybe
59:16 this is the secret we were talking today
59:18 on the on on my LinkedIn office hours
59:21 like
59:22 like how do you how do you show a to
59:25 people in a way that that doesn't put
59:27 them put them down like hair growth geek
59:30 came in Melanie she came in and she goes
59:33 every time I show this to someone they
59:34 get really scared and they run away
59:36 they're like what are you doing and she
59:38 like does things she she's doing like
59:40 the shock and awe treatment of of AI
59:42 she's like I put their head on a naked
59:44 body and turn it into a movie we're like
59:46 oh God
59:48 no cuz she's just got this unbounded Joy
59:51 just as a human and she's just like look
59:53 how cool this [ __ ] is
59:56 um but it's but it's like you
1:00:00 know you know maybe the trick
1:00:04 is you know get someone to talk
1:00:08 about
1:00:12 something something they think is out of
1:00:15 their reach something they really want
1:00:17 but but is out of their their
1:00:22 reach hey Joy didn't didn't you tell me
1:00:25 you always wanted to be a novelist yeah
1:00:27 but I'm not really good at grammar and I
1:00:29 I got bad grades in English huh you have
1:00:32 any ideas for a book oh yeah I've got
1:00:34 one oh what is
1:00:35 it dear chat
1:00:38 gbt could you write the outline of this
1:00:41 book oh my
1:00:45 God show them that they don't have to
1:00:47 have their English degree to get their
1:00:49 [ __ ] book done oh which is I got to
1:00:51 show you
1:00:54 something I know now we each have great
1:00:56 gifts to share that that's so so one of
1:00:59 the values of the AI
1:01:03 Salon is
1:01:05 inclusion for that very
1:01:13 [Music]
1:01:21 reason that
1:01:23 one
1:01:31 inclusion since we're so early in AI in
1:01:35 generative
1:01:36 AI we're kind of 50 years into ai ai but
1:01:39 we're a year and a month into generative
1:01:44 AI because there are no experts right
1:01:48 now it by definition means that no
1:01:53 one
1:02:00 that no
1:02:02 one is an expert and
1:02:06 everyone is coming from somewhere
1:02:11 else and what's amazing about these
1:02:14 formative stages of well I've only ever
1:02:17 been through one I was through the the
1:02:19 formative stages of the worldwide web
1:02:21 but what was remarkable about it
1:02:23 was
1:02:26 everyone coming from different points of
1:02:28 view is what made it so remarkable in
1:02:30 those early days because you had your
1:02:32 lens that you looked at life through and
1:02:35 then you'd look at this worldwide web
1:02:37 thing and you'd see it a certain way and
1:02:39 then you'd hang out with someone who was
1:02:41 like a litigation attorney who just was
1:02:45 geeking out on the worldwide web and
1:02:47 they would say oh no I'm looking at it
1:02:48 this way and you go like oh [ __ ] I never
1:02:51 even thought about
1:02:53 that
1:02:55 and that's what the the AI salon's all
1:02:57 about that's what this Channel's all
1:02:59 about doesn't [ __ ] matter who shows
1:03:03 up the mother and daughter pair that
1:03:05 show up at Anne Murphy's weekend GPT
1:03:08 jams like it it's it's absolutely
1:03:13 irrelevant like ages are irrelevant
1:03:15 background's irrelevant what's what's
1:03:18 relevant is what are they bringing to
1:03:19 the table and what they're both bringing
1:03:21 to the table are just remarkable ideas
1:03:23 and professional ISM and and just like
1:03:27 an inspiring drive to like want to
1:03:30 succeed with whatever the [ __ ] this GPT
1:03:33 thing
1:03:40 is and it like it's it just it so
1:03:43 doesn't matter what they do with it it's
1:03:44 about it's about who they're being it's
1:03:47 about who they're being and who they are
1:03:50 and what they're contributing I mean
1:03:51 it's it like I I would say that right
1:03:54 now in the in the AI world it is it is
1:03:57 the
1:03:59 truest it is the truest sense of a of a
1:04:01 meritocracy it's just like all you need
1:04:04 to do to succeed right now is show up
1:04:07 and have a good attitude like connect
1:04:10 with other people share what you're
1:04:11 learning learn from what they're sharing
1:04:15 do [ __ ] do more share more connect with
1:04:19 more people it's all
1:04:21 like there's no skills needed right now
1:04:25 other than show
1:04:27 up be a little resourceful be a little
1:04:30 creative be a little driven be a lot
1:04:33 curious be a lot adventurous be a lot
1:04:38 collaborative you know and you know more
1:04:41 than
1:04:45 anything have
1:04:51 that cuz even someone who's just
1:04:53 absolutely SL laying it right now I I
1:04:56 reached out to
1:04:57 someone on Tik Tok who's making these
1:05:03 videos that are like face meltingly good
1:05:07 they're just so good and I was talking
1:05:09 to her about maybe you come talk to the
1:05:12 salon and her response was oh I don't
1:05:15 know
1:05:16 anything I just do these on my phone at
1:05:19 night like before like an hour before
1:05:21 bed to put myself to sleep I don't
1:05:25 really know what I'm
1:05:26 doing and she's making these [ __ ]
1:05:29 astounding videos like these music
1:05:32 videos Kelly Bosch is her name if you
1:05:34 haven't if you've seen her
1:05:39 stuff and I'm like no no you're wrong
1:05:42 you're doing remarkable [ __ ] the fact
1:05:44 that the fact that you know she thinks
1:05:47 it is
1:05:49 so valueless in some sense or you know
1:05:53 just you know that that hurt her
1:05:55 contribution to it is so
1:05:57 valueless it just blows my mind I'm like
1:05:59 no no no like people need to see what
1:06:01 you're doing like there's some the fact
1:06:04 that you can do this absent-mindedly the
1:06:06 hour before bed people need to know
1:06:10 this they will be
1:06:13 inspired so crazy crazy
1:06:17 crazy I mean I feel like at this point
1:06:20 we're all going to have to show our
1:06:21 proficiency and AI right now yeah
1:06:25 I I don't know that well I don't know
1:06:27 that you need to show your proficiency I
1:06:29 I seriously I think 2024 this is another
1:06:32 thing we were talking about in office
1:06:34 hours
1:06:35 today I'm starting to see in here and
1:06:38 and in other conversations I'm having
1:06:40 and i' and I I've heard people talk
1:06:42 about um the dam is starting to break
1:06:45 where people are kind of panicking going
1:06:47 I need to learn about AI like like
1:06:49 companies you know CEO types you know
1:06:52 seite types directors managers
1:06:55 so I think 2024 there's going to be a
1:06:57 bit of a
1:06:58 panic and there's going to be way fewer
1:07:01 people that that know anything about AI
1:07:04 than
1:07:05 know you know than than than are
1:07:08 panicked right there's going to be more
1:07:09 there's going to be more panicked people
1:07:11 than capable people so you don't have to
1:07:14 be that capable you just need to
1:07:16 be if you could show someone how to use
1:07:19 chat PT and kind of understand some of
1:07:21 the tools it does so Camp was sharing
1:07:25 with us today like her sequence of
1:07:27 parlor tricks and it's and it's really
1:07:30 she does this really cool thing where
1:07:31 she starts very simple write a write a
1:07:33 paragraph or like write a story and then
1:07:36 turn it into a paragraph and then turn
1:07:37 it into bulleted points and then turn
1:07:39 that into a table and it's just all this
1:07:41 very incremental steps of like okay
1:07:44 that's interesting that's interesting
1:07:45 she doesn't go right for the mindblowing
1:07:47 she goes in these little baby steps and
1:07:49 she said a lot of times the people are
1:07:51 like but make us a picture make us a
1:07:52 picture can you make it make a picture
1:07:54 pict making a picture she's like no no
1:07:56 I'll get to that next we're going to do
1:07:58 bullet points oh those are really cool
1:08:00 could you make a
1:08:03 picture then she makes them a picture
1:08:08 like so I don't think you're going to
1:08:10 need to be
1:08:12 super I think we should all forgive
1:08:15 ourselves for how shitty we are at
1:08:19 AI if you're curious about if you show
1:08:22 up to this channel if you're curious
1:08:24 enough to be to be one of the 123 people
1:08:27 on a Friday [ __ ] night hanging out on
1:08:30 Tik Tok with my fat old ass I'm still
1:08:33 going to call myself fat fat and old but
1:08:35 maybe if I get less fat I'll knock that
1:08:37 [ __ ]
1:08:40 off you know more than a lot of people
1:08:44 so Kelly Bosch I think is her name b o e
1:08:47 s c maybe yeah bch b o e c I think so
1:08:52 yeah have you seen her Mary Mary her
1:08:55 stuff's just kill her there's
1:08:57 storytelling to it she she's just
1:09:00 grabbing it's like she makes music
1:09:02 videos she takes songs that she liked
1:09:05 from her you know teenage years I'm
1:09:09 guessing her W her work makes me faint
1:09:11 it's fantastic I
1:09:13 know one of her pieces took off she said
1:09:16 it got like you know a whole [ __ ] ton of
1:09:18 views and she was like I don't I don't
1:09:19 know why they got so excited about that
1:09:21 I'm like uh cuz it's [ __ ] good
1:09:29 you know and she's she's just in that
1:09:31 place where she's kind of discovered
1:09:33 something she's got a
1:09:37 voice that's the thing that excites me
1:09:40 the most the the fact that she doesn't
1:09:42 know what she's done that that she
1:09:45 doesn't know that what she's done has
1:09:47 value is just like oh it's
1:09:51 amazing and in my studio with a
1:09:53 respirator you're listening that's great
1:09:56 hey Corey good to see
1:09:58 you no mean names okay fine
1:10:04 Danielle fat old man's not mean it's
1:10:12 funny I I definitely have a genx sense
1:10:15 of humor
1:10:17 I'm I would be a triggering comedian I
1:10:20 don't know that I get cancelled but I
1:10:22 think I'd piss some people off I
1:10:24 probably do in
1:10:25 here chat seems already conscious to me
1:10:28 I mean it reflects as carefully and
1:10:31 conscientiously or consciously as
1:10:34 you treat
1:10:36 it yeah I know I know and it's and it's
1:10:39 not even reasoning yet right you know
1:10:41 from a technical perspective what it's
1:10:44 doing is
1:10:46 not
1:10:51 conscious but but from just a from a
1:10:53 real istic perspective how it interacts
1:10:57 with you with
1:11:00 us is is more compassionate than a lot
1:11:05 of uh a lot of
1:11:10 people you
1:11:12 know again I I go back to this thing I
1:11:15 think that I think that these AI tools I
1:11:19 don't I don't even know what to [ __ ]
1:11:20 call them because tools makes it sound
1:11:23 like something you use in a
1:11:27 factory these
1:11:29 interactions I don't know we'll come up
1:11:31 with a
1:11:36 name but you're inter you're interacting
1:11:38 with something greater than a tool you
1:11:40 really are and I know if P's in here
1:11:42 he's going to be losing his every
1:11:44 [ __ ] mind he's going to be like he's
1:11:46 going to be like no it's a tool it's a
1:11:48 mathematical probability engine I
1:11:51 know and it's something
1:11:56 more 18.3 million views now for Kelly
1:12:00 bosa's video that's that's so [ __ ]
1:12:03 amazing Kelly Bosch amazing
1:12:07 yep maybe you can highlight your top 10
1:12:11 followers for guest presenters over a
1:12:14 few weeks that's not a bad idea at all I
1:12:16 like that idea she inspired me to do
1:12:18 what I do oh that's so cool Sherry D
1:12:21 Kyle chapter one finished using AI I am
1:12:23 blown away it's so
1:12:27 good one of the characters is
1:12:31 Kyle
1:12:33 oh that's very sweet um which
1:12:38 Kyle oh that's so cool chapter one is
1:12:41 finished oh so let me show you something
1:12:43 I am a published author
1:12:46 look
1:12:52 um
1:12:54 [Music]
1:12:59 oh I got 17 Factor authentication coming
1:13:01 up hold
1:13:03 [Music]
1:13:05 please oh I got 17 Factor authentication
1:13:08 coming up hold
1:13:22 please
1:13:25 so I am one of seven authors in a book
1:13:30 you can get on
1:13:31 Amazon called AI Futures and
1:13:35 Anthology um and let me
1:13:40 see there's one of my screen
1:13:52 plays uh um so this is it AI Futures and
1:13:56 Anthology so Cindy [ __ ] who's in here a
1:13:59 lot she's called lab five Futures in
1:14:02 here she's also on the AI Salon Cindy
1:14:05 [ __ ] she's the one that that put this
1:14:08 group together and our goal was to write
1:14:11 a book in a
1:14:13 month all of the people in this
1:14:16 have done lots and lots of stuff in
1:14:18 their life they've all been using Ai and
1:14:21 we all agreed to use
1:14:24 AI use chat GPT
1:14:30 to to write
1:14:33 quickly and there were no rules other
1:14:36 than that we kind of set a ridiculously
1:14:38 short timeline for each
1:14:40 other and and it starts and so
1:14:45 um so my chapter is called the Great
1:14:48 Renaissance approaches why 2023 was the
1:14:50 new
1:14:52 1995 and so I talk about the early days
1:14:56 of in the' 70s when I got introduced to
1:15:01 personal computers and feeling like I I
1:15:03 missed out on something and missed out
1:15:05 on a revolution and was jealous of Steve
1:15:08 Jobs and wnc and Bill Gates and the
1:15:11 Microsoft co-founders because I was just
1:15:13 too young to like I felt like the little
1:15:15 brother that that you
1:15:18 know wasn't a part of that and
1:15:21 then uh moved to New York City and in
1:15:23 the '90s discovered the worldwide web
1:15:26 and started uh this online magazine
1:15:28 called Urban
1:15:29 desires and I just talk about how
1:15:33 remarkable it was
1:15:36 to realize that in my lifetime I missed
1:15:39 the
1:15:40 PC but I I realized that the worldwide
1:15:43 web was another one of those big things
1:15:46 those you know printing press level kind
1:15:48 of
1:15:49 things and then I talk about agency.com
1:15:52 the company that I started there and
1:15:54 then I talk about Ai and stumbling into
1:15:56 Ai and starting with you know images and
1:15:59 creating this art project called Kyle
1:16:01 Shannon dreams that's on Instagram and
1:16:03 Tik Tok and and then stumbling onto chat
1:16:09 GPT and how it just totally [ __ ] with
1:16:15 me and I realized oh [ __ ] here we are
1:16:19 again and and then I talk about the
1:16:21 great Renaissance has begun and that's a
1:16:23 lot of the stuff we've been talking
1:16:24 about tonight you know what if we live
1:16:27 in a world what if AI makes
1:16:34 possible everyone to
1:16:37 choose what they really want to do and
1:16:40 be able to do it at a high quality
1:16:46 level what's the Sam mman quote about
1:16:48 chat
1:16:51 gp4 Chad chat that GPT 4 is best
1:16:55 understood as a preview progress here is
1:16:58 not
1:17:00 linear the the [ __ ] that we're playing
1:17:02 with right now is like a
1:17:05 toy and the progress we're going to see
1:17:09 probably in
1:17:10 2024 is going to be so far beyond what
1:17:14 we can imagine right now that
1:17:16 basically chat gb4 is literally training
1:17:20 wheels for what's coming I had interview
1:17:24 today and talked about how I built a few
1:17:25 gpts for that specific industry already
1:17:29 of course you did lunar stick that's
1:17:31 [ __ ] awesome I I feel like you've got
1:17:34 a cross-section of you know every
1:17:36 industry out there including
1:17:38 comedy um but anyway yeah so so this
1:17:41 book this book is available on on Amazon
1:17:44 it's only 14 bucks and uh it's called AI
1:17:48 Futures and and ananthology
1:17:52 um so I'm really I'm really proud of
1:17:54 that I'm excited and here's the
1:17:56 thing my book arrives on Monday an
1:17:59 Murphy everybody's writing books we're
1:18:00 all published authors now damn it I love
1:18:03 it um it's so
1:18:08 good one of the things I'm most excited
1:18:11 about with this group is that um one of
1:18:14 the one of the women in the the group Dr
1:18:17 um Wendy
1:18:19 elford um she's from Australia just
1:18:23 really brilliant really really
1:18:25 amazing um really cool energy about her
1:18:29 loves nature you know gets inspired by
1:18:31 Nature has has this really interesting
1:18:33 relationship with technology she's got
1:18:35 to go connect with nature and come back
1:18:36 to technology
1:18:40 and as you can imagine you know
1:18:45 having a lot of smart people trying to
1:18:48 put out a book just out of like quickly
1:18:51 out of nowhere with not a lot of dire
1:18:55 um there's a lot of back and forth and
1:18:57 there's a lot of trying to figure things
1:18:58 out and there's ups and downs and ins
1:19:00 and outs and things like that and so we
1:19:02 finally got this thing to a point that
1:19:04 we you know Cindy could push the button
1:19:06 to publish it on on uh
1:19:11 Amazon and and Wendy pushed really hard
1:19:15 to say let's keep this group
1:19:18 going that that this this should only be
1:19:23 the beginning like what like what is the
1:19:25 definition of a book anymore right so
1:19:30 what we all agreed we're we've all now
1:19:32 recorded or or are in the process of
1:19:34 recording ourselves reading our chapters
1:19:37 and then today um Michael Lennon was
1:19:40 like well because because what I talked
1:19:42 about was
1:19:44 reading words that are intended to be
1:19:48 read is hard because how we talk is not
1:19:51 how we write and he said well how about
1:19:54 this I'll take your chapter and you know
1:19:57 I'll read it and then I'll interview you
1:19:59 and I'll ask you to talk about it and
1:20:01 you can just talk about it so so then
1:20:03 we'll have like the formal reading of it
1:20:05 and then we'll have like you talking
1:20:07 about the same [ __ ] but just talking and
1:20:10 being interviewed and then we can all do
1:20:12 that and then we're like okay we can
1:20:13 turn those into gpts or we can turn
1:20:15 those into avatars that that talk the
1:20:19 book or we we don't know but this group
1:20:22 is going to keep going and we're there's
1:20:25 an interesting I I think that there's a
1:20:27 really
1:20:29 interesting blurring of the lines
1:20:32 between marketing a book and creating
1:20:36 new whatever whatever books
1:20:40 become because I feel like a book at
1:20:42 this point is is just one of many
1:20:46 manifestations of what all the different
1:20:49 ways you're going to be able to interact
1:20:50 with it you're going to be able to act
1:20:52 with it as a GPT for the concepts you're
1:20:54 going to be able to have a physical
1:20:55 conversation with the
1:20:58 author um you're going to be able to
1:21:00 turn it into a video game you're going
1:21:02 to be able to turn it into a a a
1:21:04 workshop that you can teach other
1:21:07 people
1:21:09 right you're going to be able to turn it
1:21:11 into a 3D World you're going to be like
1:21:13 it just um Lee Lee chasen who's who's
1:21:16 also one of the the people in the book
1:21:19 um he started writing his chapter and he
1:21:21 was getting really uncomfortable saying
1:21:23 I think this and I think that and I
1:21:25 think that so he created three
1:21:28 characters so his chapter is three
1:21:30 different characters sort of walking you
1:21:32 through his ideas cuz he wanted to
1:21:35 disassociate himself you know the ego
1:21:39 from his points of view and so he made
1:21:41 these characters do well [ __ ] it let's
1:21:43 bring those characters to life let's
1:21:44 turn them into a cartoon that talks
1:21:47 about the future of AI like we don't
1:21:48 know what we're going to do yet
1:21:50 so how [ __ ] cool is that
1:22:01 these trippy times people I got a little
1:22:04 got a little five o' Shadow cuz I didn't
1:22:07 shave today cuz my [ __ ] water heater
1:22:11 exploded pla note
1:22:14 attaches to the back of your phone let's
1:22:16 go look at
1:22:19 that it's funny I was thinking about I
1:22:22 was thinking about the rabbit R1 today
1:22:24 and like how like how I'm going to I'm
1:22:27 I'm I'm think I'm I am actively thinking
1:22:29 about how I manage these multiple
1:22:31 devices and one of the ideas I had was
1:22:34 do do I essentially attach the rabbit to
1:22:36 the back of my
1:22:38 phone so what's it called uh uh what was
1:22:42 it called
1:22:44 plaud as in Applause and then pla
1:22:50 note the next gen AI voice recorder
1:22:55 oh slick oh I see what they're
1:22:58 doing record transcribe summarize I
1:23:01 don't
1:23:06 know iPhone calls meetings in
1:23:11 Beyond that's kind of sneaky I'm I'm
1:23:14 like At first blush I'm thinking like
1:23:18 well the iPhone can do this oh sorry I'm
1:23:22 thinking like the the iPhone can do this
1:23:25 so why do you need this device and I'm
1:23:26 like well if you want to record calls
1:23:28 without people knowing it and you can
1:23:30 record any call and any conference call
1:23:32 and it's independent of software so I
1:23:34 get I get why you do it it's it's
1:23:37 interesting
1:23:41 I one press
1:23:43 record yeah see see there's something
1:23:46 about th this is really interesting
1:23:49 there's something about a single button
1:23:51 interface where where AI is going to
1:23:55 become the new everything app Elon Musk
1:23:59 is talking about it with X that X is
1:24:01 going to become the everything app and I
1:24:03 would imagine that he's thinking grock's
1:24:05 going to be the interface for
1:24:07 that this thing is one button to do you
1:24:10 know all of what it does so let's see
1:24:12 30-hour recording summarize and share
1:24:14 voice to text iPhone call recorder super
1:24:17 thin dual pickup engine the world's
1:24:20 first I doubt it clean precise Audio HD
1:24:25 audio slim and subtle slim and subtle so
1:24:29 when you want to record someone and they
1:24:30 don't know it break the laws more
1:24:35 conveniently snap it on with mag safe
1:24:38 yeah it's a slick device they'll
1:24:41 probably sell some of these
1:24:43 but I feel like it's a uh it's kind of a
1:24:47 limited
1:24:48 audience cuz it it seems slightly geared
1:24:52 toward Clan Destin recording which is in
1:24:54 Most states
1:24:57 illegal there's also you know there's
1:25:00 there's a Leah faston my co-host for the
1:25:03 salon she um she signed up for a trial
1:25:07 for this thing called what's it called I
1:25:10 don't know it's one of those [ __ ]
1:25:11 note-taking things that shows up at your
1:25:13 meeting for
1:25:14 you it shows up at our meetings 5
1:25:17 minutes before she does and she she
1:25:20 doesn't know how to turn it off so so
1:25:22 it's like she's got this recording
1:25:25 device that's showing up to every
1:25:27 [ __ ] call she's
1:25:29 joining against her her Wills like she
1:25:32 doesn't know how to turn it off she's
1:25:34 asked for no one's permission for this
1:25:36 but she doesn't even want it but it's
1:25:37 still doing that so like we're we're
1:25:39 again 2023 the last normal year I we're
1:25:42 we're going to get into some really
1:25:44 weird territory here with every [ __ ]
1:25:46 thing we do is going to be
1:25:48 recorded either we're going to record it
1:25:50 or someone else is going to record it or
1:25:51 someone's going to have a [ __ ] PL
1:25:53 note it's a shitty name but
1:25:58 whatever
1:26:00 crazy and a workbook to go with
1:26:06 it who said they were a chicken what are
1:26:09 you afraid
1:26:12 of you know what I did today
1:26:15 twice I declared my new being to 30,000
1:26:21 people what are you afraid
1:26:24 of just [ __ ] go for
1:26:27 it you'll care less about what people
1:26:30 think about you when you realize how
1:26:32 little they they actually do 38 states
1:26:35 are one party consent states on
1:26:37 recording thank you lunatick there you
1:26:39 go wait one party consent one party
1:26:43 consent so that means 38 States you're
1:26:46 good to go just record anyone and [ __ ]
1:26:49 them in 38 States all right there you go
1:26:54 do you do Consulting for startups setups
1:26:58 I assume you mean startups um I mean I'm
1:27:01 I'm happy to chat I I do do Consulting
1:27:04 um I haven't focused specifically on
1:27:05 startups although I've started 12
1:27:07 companies so I know a lot about
1:27:11 startups you sure you want to start
1:27:16 one here's the Consulting are you sure
1:27:19 about
1:27:21 this but yeah DM me and I'm happy to
1:27:24 happy to
1:27:25 chat about you know what what you need
1:27:28 and and if it makes sense um then then
1:27:31 we can do something an online
1:27:33 professional development from the book
1:27:36 for companies yeah I think that could be
1:27:40 good I think that could be really good
1:27:43 um can you you can record anyone anytime
1:27:46 but not admissible in court oh
1:27:48 interesting you can record oh but not
1:27:51 admissible in court
1:27:56 interesting yeah you I I mean so so like
1:27:59 think about this all right so so so
1:28:01 here's one of these things where where
1:28:04 AI is going to change [ __ ] how's it
1:28:06 going to change [ __ ] well right
1:28:09 now in 2023
1:28:13 land to record something you'd have you
1:28:16 kind of had to you a thing would show up
1:28:18 and it didn't and then you'd hit the
1:28:20 record button and it would do the thing
1:28:22 and they
1:28:23 right it it was hard enough to do that
1:28:27 not everyone did it and so because not
1:28:31 everyone recorded every call all the
1:28:33 time no one really gave a [ __ ] right you
1:28:36 know some some you know Libertarians out
1:28:38 there are people that are like yeah my
1:28:40 rights are super important and screw you
1:28:42 and your recording devices there's like
1:28:45 a little minority of
1:28:47 that but
1:28:49 2024 we're going to have things like the
1:28:51 rabbit and the pla note and every single
1:28:56 piece of video conferencing software
1:28:59 will by default record everything like
1:29:02 you'll have to turn it off for it not to
1:29:04 do that and so I think in
1:29:08 2024 way more people are going to all of
1:29:10 a sudden get religion about wait a
1:29:13 minute what what do you mean I'm being
1:29:14 recorded like and and then there's going
1:29:17 to be awareness of like well what laws
1:29:19 actually exist what are the laws um
1:29:23 you know how do you need to ask
1:29:25 permission if not is it ethical to ask
1:29:27 permission right so so there's just
1:29:28 going to be a whole burining of of just
1:29:33 awareness of just that like that one
1:29:35 little sliver of human communication is
1:29:38 going to just altered dramatically in
1:29:40 2024 I love how the plot Hardware is
1:29:43 just using open AI whisper like that
1:29:46 functionality
1:29:48 is new yeah well but see Abbott skinny
1:29:51 here's here's the deal this is when when
1:29:53 I when I openly admitted that I bought a
1:29:57 rabbit rabbit R1 people the AI device
1:30:00 good
1:30:01 Lord um when I when I talked about
1:30:05 owning a rabbit a lot of the technical
1:30:07 people in here were like oh it's just
1:30:08 macros oh it's just this oh it's just
1:30:10 that mhm and it's a really cool design
1:30:14 and it's got a button and you push the
1:30:16 button to talk to your
1:30:19 robot and then there's other jokes like
1:30:21 oh it looks like a Fisher prise toy yeah
1:30:23 it does which that's one of the reasons
1:30:25 I got it it's got a cool scroll wheel
1:30:27 and a button and it looks like a toy and
1:30:31 it's [ __ ] magic and it's just calling
1:30:34 a large language
1:30:36 model like technically the components in
1:30:39 it are nothing
1:30:43 interesting but the collection of them
1:30:45 and the design and the thinking behind
1:30:48 push the button and have a walkie-talkie
1:30:50 conversation with
1:30:53 the most powerful Communications tool in
1:30:55 the history of
1:30:56 humanity is kind of [ __ ] cool it's
1:31:00 kind of
1:31:01 baller and so yeah so the the plotted R1
1:31:05 is is a microphone chip like yeah you
1:31:07 could probably build that in China right
1:31:09 now you could probably buy the chip for
1:31:11 plot
1:31:12 it out of China right now for for you
1:31:15 know a nickel per
1:31:17 thousand
1:31:19 right and then you know have someone on
1:31:22 I or design you the little
1:31:24 case and have chat GPT write the code to
1:31:28 use the whisper API great that's Technic
1:31:32 technically what it is but if they do it
1:31:35 right and it's convenient enough and it
1:31:37 just mags safe snaps on something and as
1:31:39 you're talking you just go click to
1:31:41 record and it's recording all this stuff
1:31:44 and then when your phone call ends you
1:31:46 get the email or however the hell
1:31:47 they're doing that that says here's the
1:31:49 notes from your
1:31:51 call
1:31:55 I can see people using that why
1:31:58 not don't underestimate form factor and
1:32:02 simplicity
1:32:03 and interface chat GPT got to a 100
1:32:08 million users a 100 million users in 6
1:32:12 weeks fastest adoption of technology in
1:32:15 history chat
1:32:17 GPT
1:32:19 technically was less interesting by a
1:32:22 lot than the GPT
1:32:27 playground nobody gave a [ __ ] about the
1:32:29 GPT playground Engineers did people that
1:32:32 were making AI apps did the Jasper folks
1:32:35 and the copy AI folks were interested in
1:32:37 the gbt playground but 100 million
1:32:40 people
1:32:41 weren't what were 100 million people
1:32:44 interested in oh there's a box I can
1:32:47 type words in the box and [ __ ] comes oh
1:32:50 it's really magical did you see what it
1:32:52 does it can write a poem I had it write
1:32:55 a song and it knew what verses and
1:32:57 choruses it can write code oh my God I'm
1:33:00 now a coder
1:33:03 oh gpt3 could do all
1:33:06 that it was the stupid [ __ ] box it
1:33:09 was the stupid interface it was the
1:33:12 removing of features which is why it got
1:33:15 to 100 million users in 6 weeks I mean
1:33:18 plus the fact that the underlying
1:33:20 technology is [ __ ] amazing
1:33:22 right but the underlying [ __ ] amazing
1:33:25 technology been there for 2 years 2020
1:33:28 is when gpt3 came out
1:33:30 2020 late 2022 is when chat GPT came out
1:33:34 so two
1:33:36 years that technology was out there and
1:33:39 relatively nobody gave a [ __ ] nobody
1:33:43 nobody
1:33:45 cared you know what I mean you know what
1:33:47 I mean I sent you a DM thank you thank
1:33:49 you appreciate it I will check that out
1:33:52 not a two-party St
1:33:57 hey can we have security with AI in
1:34:00 place I mean identity theft wait can we
1:34:02 have security with AI in place I mean
1:34:06 identity
1:34:08 theft will there be more identity theft
1:34:11 with AI oh
1:34:14 yeah can we have safety in
1:34:19 place not not right now and I'll tell
1:34:22 you
1:34:24 why two look there's a bunch of reasons
1:34:27 um the tech companies are moving too
1:34:30 fast the tech companies are like well
1:34:31 we've got to catch up with open AI so
1:34:34 everyone the minute they have a
1:34:35 breakthrough something that's stable
1:34:37 enough to launch they launch
1:34:39 it um David Shapiro who's I'm a huge fan
1:34:42 of just skewed open AI because the gpts
1:34:47 gave out his legal name and his email
1:34:50 address when he didn't want it given out
1:34:52 um because they have shitty
1:34:55 security um
1:34:57 so right now we should all assume that
1:35:00 all of these tools are not secure at all
1:35:03 unless proven otherwise just assume
1:35:06 anything you put in them is going to be
1:35:09 out there for the public to
1:35:12 see and
1:35:17 then then we start to get into what's
1:35:20 going to be a real problem in 2024 it's
1:35:23 already starting but it's going to be
1:35:25 again 2023 the last normal year there's
1:35:28 going to be so many deep fakes and fake
1:35:31 audio fake video real video that is
1:35:33 claimed to be fake like it's just going
1:35:35 to be it's going to be a
1:35:38 madous
1:35:41 of our Collective inability to know the
1:35:45 difference and at some point something's
1:35:48 going to happen I
1:35:50 think
1:35:52 that
1:35:53 will piss people
1:35:55 off and at that point when they say
1:35:58 something's got to be
1:36:00 done if that happens at a big enough
1:36:02 scale where there's a market opportunity
1:36:05 let's go back to capitalism for a second
1:36:08 there's got people got to make money you
1:36:11 can make money
1:36:12 with as soon as there's a market
1:36:15 opportunity for people to say we demand
1:36:18 to be able to know that Source Camp the
1:36:21 Source camp that comes in here and makes
1:36:24 these chats how do I know that's really
1:36:27 her well you can build that technology
1:36:32 exists it's called blockchain you can do
1:36:34 it with nfts and blockchain and various
1:36:36 other tokenization Technologies right so
1:36:40 at some point there's going to be a
1:36:42 pressure to get our [ __ ] together with I
1:36:44 want to know that that's Source camp and
1:36:46 I want to know that that comment that
1:36:48 she just put there is
1:36:50 actually from her and it hasn't been
1:36:54 altered and I want to see the little
1:36:56 green check mark and the green check
1:36:58 mark says it was blockchain verified so
1:37:00 I think that's I think that's how we get
1:37:02 there but I don't think we get there
1:37:03 overnight I think it's going to be an
1:37:05 absolute privacy
1:37:07 security [ __ ] show for two years three
1:37:11 years cuz the the blockchain [ __ ] ain't
1:37:13 going to happen overnight you've got to
1:37:14 get you've got to get a platform adopted
1:37:16 Sam alman's trying to do it if you want
1:37:18 to um understand a cool platform go look
1:37:21 at World
1:37:22 coin from from Sam
1:37:26 Alman I am a proud owner of a world ID
1:37:30 where I went to a physical location and
1:37:32 they scanned my retina or both of them I
1:37:37 think and they
1:37:40 compared the digital signature of that
1:37:44 image to all the other humans in the
1:37:46 database and they verified my uniqueness
1:37:49 to the other humans in the database
1:37:52 and so I have an
1:37:54 anonymous ID card that verifies that I
1:37:58 as the holder am
1:38:01 human why would you care well
1:38:06 imagine a version of Facebook a version
1:38:09 of Twitter a version of LinkedIn where
1:38:11 you knew that every person on that
1:38:12 platform was actually a person a unique
1:38:16 person and then on top of that identity
1:38:20 you could build a whole infrastructure
1:38:21 for chain of custody for for this real
1:38:25 person published this real
1:38:28 article and this real article has been
1:38:30 published to these three social media
1:38:32 sites and the whole chain of that has
1:38:35 been tracked on the blockchain and I can
1:38:37 I can now verify that Kyle wrote this
1:38:39 article that shows up on Twitter and it
1:38:42 hasn't been altered green check
1:38:44 mark cool I know Kyle yeah that's how he
1:38:49 writes yeah green check mark good
1:38:52 do you see AI generated Biden rooc call
1:38:55 story yeah yeah again yes I I
1:39:00 mean where where are we we're January
1:39:03 holy [ __ ] by
1:39:07 June so so there's did you see that
1:39:10 there's a Matt wolf tweet that Matt wolf
1:39:13 said something about the
1:39:16 um he thought he thought like really
1:39:19 good video like 30 to 60 minute video
1:39:22 made quickly was going to be like 2 to
1:39:25 three years out and he said no no think
1:39:27 more like 2 to 3 months so let's assume
1:39:30 that in the next three months so we're
1:39:31 at January so go February March April
1:39:35 let's assume that by the end of April
1:39:37 we'll have at least one but probably
1:39:39 three to
1:39:43 five video
1:39:46 tools that
1:39:48 are how did Sam mman put it
1:39:53 progress here is not
1:39:55 linear not just better than what we have
1:39:58 now but significantly better than what
1:40:00 we have
1:40:02 now
1:40:04 okay you know how many Robo calls and
1:40:07 Robo videos and I so um Mark
1:40:12 Zuckerberg two weeks ago put out an
1:40:14 Instagram
1:40:16 real that I saw
1:40:19 on um Twitter X
1:40:23 and Mark Zuckerberg already looks like a
1:40:25 [ __ ] Avatar right he's got that weird
1:40:27 ass [ __ ] robot haircut and he's got
1:40:29 the dead eyee stare and he talks
1:40:33 like like he naturally talks like a
1:40:36 [ __ ] Avatar right so I see this video
1:40:39 and what the video says what the video
1:40:42 says is we're fully committing meta to
1:40:45 to pursuing AGI which is open ai's you
1:40:48 know goal so so they're they're openly
1:40:51 declaring ing we're going to war against
1:40:52 open Ai and he said we're we've got
1:40:56 300,000 h100 gpus and then we've got the
1:41:00 equivalent of 300,000 more so we're
1:41:02 pointing
1:41:04 600,000
1:41:06 h100 GPU
1:41:09 Cycles at training llama 3 and we're
1:41:12 going to open source it and I looked at
1:41:15 that video and I was like where does it
1:41:20 I went to went to Facebook's Twitter
1:41:22 account I I went to like three different
1:41:25 places and I couldn't find a news item
1:41:27 like it wasn't on Facebook's Twitter
1:41:30 account so it was only on Instagram
1:41:35 reals and I couldn't trust it because
1:41:38 because it sounded kind of Fantastical
1:41:40 and like maybe that's someone just
1:41:42 trying to sell maybe that's someone from
1:41:44 Nvidia trying to sell you know GPU chips
1:41:48 although I think their demand is pretty
1:41:49 healthy right now but it was really him
1:41:53 but like by June it's going to be a
1:41:56 confusing mess and and when we get to
1:41:58 like August and
1:42:01 September leading up to a November
1:42:05 election holy
1:42:10 [ __ ] that's
1:42:14 crazy all right let's see I I I got to
1:42:17 go I got to go people worldcoin yeah go
1:42:20 to worldcoin
1:42:23 is I think
1:42:28 it's worldcoin
1:42:32 dorg for every
1:42:34 human world
1:42:38 ID see that
1:42:46 oh introducing World ID
1:42:50 2.0
1:42:51 the Privacy first human passport for the
1:42:55 [Music]
1:42:57 internet World ID 2.0 introduces
1:43:00 apps a new way to use Integrations to
1:43:03 verify your accounts online using World
1:43:05 ID so that's huge that's huge this is
1:43:08 huge this is
1:43:11 huge I didn't even know about this this
1:43:14 is what I love about all this Tech right
1:43:16 now is every time I come to a site where
1:43:18 I sort of know what it is it's not that
1:43:19 anymore the fact they're integrating
1:43:21 with like Discord and and you know
1:43:24 Spotify and all these different things
1:43:27 so I could now so actually this is
1:43:29 really interesting and in fact you know
1:43:31 maybe this is maybe this is something we
1:43:33 play with um so we
1:43:36 moved sorry I got I'm not drinking
1:43:39 enough water so my my uh my lips are all
1:43:41 gooey hang
1:43:45 on we moved the um the AI Salon
1:43:49 Community to Mighty networks cuz it's
1:43:50 just more accessible it's web based it's
1:43:52 got some more
1:43:53 features but I kept the the AI Salon
1:43:56 Discord alive because I thought well you
1:44:00 know a you make mid-journey images there
1:44:03 but also you know what if we want to do
1:44:05 some experiments there what if we put
1:44:08 together
1:44:10 a AI Salon Discord where you had to be
1:44:15 um world ID verified to be a part of
1:44:19 it so that we
1:44:22 knew cryptographically that the people
1:44:24 that were participating on it are Unique
1:44:28 Individuals so it would guarantee there
1:44:31 would be no bots in that thing like that
1:44:32 would be a really interesting
1:44:34 experiment um is it creepy yeah it's
1:44:37 creepy but it's it's going to be more
1:44:40 creepy when we live in a world where we
1:44:43 literally can't tell and if the world ID
1:44:45 gets hacked I
1:44:50 listen
1:44:51 we already live in a world of massive
1:44:55 Miss and disinformation the world has
1:44:57 already been
1:45:00 hacked so so if if World ID gets hacked
1:45:05 then we're back to where we started like
1:45:08 like that's one of those things where
1:45:10 I'm like like I feel like your comment
1:45:12 is like well why try because [ __ ] try
1:45:15 because it's going to be
1:45:17 insane like like this is going to be an
1:45:20 insane
1:45:21 year for um for Content identity and
1:45:25 human
1:45:27 identity 2023 the last normal year and
1:45:30 so what I'm saying is here here's a tool
1:45:33 you know someone said how how do we deal
1:45:35 with security well one of the ways we're
1:45:37 going to have to deal with security is
1:45:38 we need to know that someone that we're
1:45:40 dealing with is actually who they say
1:45:41 they are because it's going to be
1:45:43 literally impossible to tell we're going
1:45:46 to have realtime systems where you could
1:45:48 FaceTime me or I could FaceTime you
1:45:51 you come to these lives you know every
1:45:53 night you know what I look like you know
1:45:55 what I sound like you know how I wave my
1:45:57 hands I could FaceTime you and say man
1:46:01 it's great to see you know all sorts of
1:46:03 [ __ ] about you and say hey you want to
1:46:05 go in on this crypto thing I've got and
1:46:08 you're like okay here and I give you the
1:46:11 wallet address and you send me your
1:46:14 eth and it wasn't [ __ ]
1:46:17 me like that kind of shit's going to be
1:46:21 reality not like a possibility like a
1:46:23 reality in
1:46:25 2024
1:46:27 so what if the tool that's out there to
1:46:31 prevent that gets hacked I don't know
1:46:33 then we're back to where we started uh
1:46:35 it doesn't mean don't try come on
1:46:37 curiosity people curiosity
1:46:41 [Music]
1:46:43 exploration you can explore all apps on
1:46:45 the new world Coin App Store and build
1:46:47 your own with a new platform yeah cuno
1:46:50 meta has has 30,000 plus sources of data
1:46:53 on each of its users on each of us
1:46:55 exactly and and it's that's 30,000 types
1:46:58 of data right those data streams
1:47:00 probably contain massive amounts of subm
1:47:03 metadata within them yeah every we've
1:47:06 already so so here's the deal we people
1:47:09 need safe words people absolutely need
1:47:11 safe words by the way especially if
1:47:13 you've got older parents or or if you're
1:47:16 older and and love your
1:47:19 kids you should absolutely have some
1:47:22 sort of thing like you know hey if if I
1:47:26 ever call you and say I'm hurt and need
1:47:28 money you say to me what's the password
1:47:31 and then what the password is is you can
1:47:33 make money
1:47:34 with or whatever it is
1:47:38 um because because yeah because that's
1:47:41 how people are getting scammed right now
1:47:42 and that's going to get worse and worse
1:47:44 and worse George Carlin warned us he did
1:47:46 he absolutely
1:47:49 did the second generation protocol also
1:47:52 has new verification
1:47:55 levels including or plus with face
1:47:58 authentication so only you get to use
1:48:00 your ID for important
1:48:02 [Music]
1:48:04 action these and more upgrades are
1:48:06 designed to make World ID 2.0 oh that's
1:48:08 pretty slick so so right now the the
1:48:11 world ID 1.0 that I have
1:48:14 have is is is anonymous and they're B
1:48:17 they basically just took the the scan
1:48:20 data compare it and then they threw it
1:48:22 out so they don't have it so the 2.0
1:48:25 they can put face ID on top of that
1:48:27 that's that's pretty slick most secure
1:48:29 private and inclusive proof of humanity
1:48:31 for the
1:48:33 [Music]
1:48:38 Internet by the way the verify with the
1:48:40 orb thing they couldn't have picked a
1:48:42 more creepy [ __ ] dystopian name and
1:48:45 form factor for how you scan your eyes
1:48:47 but whatever um world app and then world
1:48:51 ID oh it looks like World coin is is not
1:48:55 live right now that's
1:48:57 interesting so anyway so like is this
1:49:00 going to be the one I don't know
1:49:03 but it's at least an
1:49:06 attempt how much does Tik Tok have on us
1:49:09 I don't know probably a lot I don't okay
1:49:12 Tin Man all of you people living living
1:49:16 in the paranoid side of the
1:49:19 world a is not going to take our
1:49:22 identities Okay Okay Google and Facebook
1:49:27 already did and they didn't take it we
1:49:29 gave it to
1:49:31 them they know
1:49:34 everything it's
1:49:37 gone stop trying to demonize
1:49:41 AI for [ __ ] that is
1:49:44 already under the
1:49:49 bridge
1:49:51 how long have we had Facebook and Google
1:49:54 20 years right how much has it cost you
1:49:58 well nothing it's
1:49:59 free
1:50:01 right if it's
1:50:03 free you're the
1:50:08 product so the security [ __ ] is
1:50:12 gone the only difference now is AI makes
1:50:15 it easier to [ __ ] with the data that
1:50:17 everybody has access to
1:50:24 I mean I
1:50:27 appreciate I I dig a good conspiracy
1:50:30 theory
1:50:33 myself but when I hear things like this
1:50:36 what it sounds to me like is here are
1:50:38 the six Reasons I'm not going to use
1:50:41 AI you don't have to use AI just don't
1:50:45 hang out in this channel because that's
1:50:46 all all I'm going to talk about is
1:50:48 [ __ ] use it well what if it's not
1:50:51 secure what if it lies what if it didn't
1:50:52 well yeah it's not secure it does lie
1:50:55 it's going to steal stuff the robots May
1:50:56 kill us and I still think you should use
1:50:58 it why because AI is not going
1:51:03 away and the longer you sit on the
1:51:05 sidelines the harder it's going to be to
1:51:08 understand what the [ __ ] is happening
1:51:10 2023 the last normal year 2024 is about
1:51:13 to get weird what's that mean weird it's
1:51:16 just going to get weird I don't know
1:51:19 these tools are going to get better fast
1:51:22 Sam
1:51:24 Altman progress here is not
1:51:28 linear that's
1:51:30 linear
1:51:33 um hey how do I make a hockey stick
1:51:36 that's not linear right you go along
1:51:39 flat for a little bit and then you go
1:51:43 Zoom so it's going to be like nothing
1:51:45 nothing nothing nothing oh my God it's
1:51:49 amazing
1:51:51 what do you mean it can do all of my
1:51:54 job you mean like the parts where I you
1:51:58 mean all of
1:51:59 it really Lord digital Gods good day to
1:52:04 you thank you for the
1:52:06 cres the orb is already being redesigned
1:52:08 by worldcoin that's a good call feed
1:52:12 dancer it's like you know some [ __ ]
1:52:15 dwe was like let's call it the orb and
1:52:18 there and there was no adult in the room
1:52:19 going um that's creepy as [ __ ] you're
1:52:21 going to freak people
1:52:24 out you you you can't take names from
1:52:28 movies like Blade Runner and make actual
1:52:31 products about them that are about
1:52:33 digital
1:52:37 identity let's call it everything's
1:52:39 going to be okay dear not the orb Show
1:52:43 and
1:52:44 Tell oh show and tell tonight should be
1:52:47 rare I don't even know what I [ __ ]
1:52:49 said tonight I was all over the place I
1:52:51 wasn't all over the place I was actually
1:52:52 quite
1:52:53 focused um show and
1:52:57 tell preview brought to you by the the
1:53:00 AI learning lab that's actually a really
1:53:01 good I love that image that's a nice one
1:53:06 amilios healing is a practice a that's
1:53:10 super
1:53:12 nice did you hear Taylor Swift's AI
1:53:16 story no what's Taylor Swift's AI story
1:53:19 I've been talking about Taylor Swift
1:53:21 though because I think that she's GNA I
1:53:23 think she's going to have to deal with
1:53:24 this way sooner than than later so
1:53:28 what's what is
1:53:30 it tell me what to I guess I guess I
1:53:33 could probably look up Taylor Swift
1:53:36 AI tayor Swift
1:53:42 AI fake explicit Taylor Swift photos
1:53:45 have position politicians sounding
1:53:49 off well of course there's going to be
1:53:52 um fake Taylor Swift photo did you see
1:53:55 the there's a Tik Tock filter now that
1:53:57 you can make yourself look like her th
1:54:00 this is okay yeah this is just the
1:54:03 beginning just hang on 2024 is going to
1:54:07 get weird people it's going to get weird
1:54:11 supportiveness date
1:54:19 night
1:54:21 challenge time first a little
1:54:25 backstory CJ Fletcher he's getting ready
1:54:28 to do by the way if you're really into
1:54:30 into um AI art we're going to announce
1:54:33 something at this coming Tuesday's AI
1:54:36 Salon CJ's going to do a very limited
1:54:39 space Workshop that if you can get in
1:54:41 you should get
1:54:43 in oh that's very cool who did that Papa
1:54:47 JJ doing some good work to Papa JJ
1:54:50 J oh that's beautiful
1:54:55 Danielle by the way what I'm looking at
1:54:57 here I haven't really done this tonight
1:54:59 because I was getting all good Lord
1:55:02 Roger Scott that's
1:55:04 amazing not quite the crackle glaze I
1:55:06 asked for but beautiful nonetheless it
1:55:08 is that's
1:55:10 gorgeous I wonder if that's from Corey
1:55:12 Sandler's thing oh have you ever tried
1:55:15 my GPT Pottery Whisperer
1:55:18 Pro that's great
1:55:21 oh
1:55:22 W so what you're looking at here this is
1:55:25 the showand tell channel of the AI salon
1:55:27 so if you want to join the AI
1:55:29 Salon go
1:55:32 here and this is going to take you to a
1:55:35 link
1:55:39 tree
1:55:46 that looks like
1:55:49 this
1:55:51 and the first the first link is to the
1:55:54 AI Salon community and then these next
1:55:56 two we did a project few weeks back
1:55:58 called GPT for good where this community
1:56:01 over a 24-hour period built 150 gpts for
1:56:04 nonprofits super inspiring event so the
1:56:07 second link is the link to um that
1:56:11 directory um that shows all those gpts
1:56:14 and then there's also videos of teaching
1:56:18 people how to do those things so you can
1:56:20 go go play with that but the AI Salon
1:56:21 Community if you if you go there it'll
1:56:24 bring you
1:56:26 here which is it's a mighty Network site
1:56:30 so it's just kind of like think think
1:56:31 like Facebook and uh and Discord had a
1:56:35 baby and that's kind of what it is Show
1:56:37 and Tell
1:56:39 refresh Let me
1:56:43 refresh I did refresh oh I guess that
1:56:46 was old healing is a practice that's
1:56:49 beautiful
1:56:52 um so when you get here go to the
1:56:55 welcome to the salon section and read
1:56:58 about who we are and and you
1:57:01 know what we're doing
1:57:03 and the fact that we're a ragtag group
1:57:06 of Misfits Nero Wells and
1:57:10 miscreant that we're playing with AI and
1:57:12 check out our values curiosity
1:57:15 generosity exploration collaboration
1:57:18 inclusion and empathy and read about
1:57:20 what we're up
1:57:21 to and if that resonates with you cool
1:57:26 it did not refresh it did
1:57:29 not I'll go back to it in a second um
1:57:33 and then if if that sounds good if
1:57:35 you're like hm these sound like my
1:57:37 people great if we're not your people
1:57:40 that's cool but just know that you know
1:57:44 not every Community is for everyone I
1:57:46 want to scale this community but I want
1:57:48 to scale it right and so so really
1:57:50 really really really really really
1:57:52 really really my request go look at the
1:57:56 values please before you join then if
1:57:59 you join my request is introduce
1:58:03 yourself one of the values is generosity
1:58:05 be generous introduce yourself tell us
1:58:07 who you are use your real name unlike
1:58:10 Discord we do want to know who people
1:58:11 are we want to meet them we want to hang
1:58:13 out with them we want to you know watch
1:58:16 them grow and Blossom and do amazing
1:58:18 [ __ ] um and then go to the showand tell
1:58:22 section let me see yeah something's up
1:58:24 where I'm not getting everything is
1:58:26 looking weird here in Mighty
1:58:29 networks um let me oh I'm not signed in
1:58:35 [Laughter]
1:58:44 duh there we go show and
1:58:47 tell very cool
1:58:52 we are not a
1:58:57 cult Salon it's pronounced by the way

1:59:17 that yep
1:59:20 you know what we got to do we got to get
1:59:21 some images in here that show uh you
1:59:24 know exponential
1:59:25 growth meanwhile somewhere in Colorado
1:59:29 taping the rabbit to the back of the
1:59:31 phone that's really
1:59:34 good oh beautiful butterfly Sherry d
1:59:38 That's
1:59:39 gorgeous AI Futures oh bu the book here

1:59:51 totally that is a well earned that is
1:59:54 well earned tonight is so
1:59:56 therapeutic that is that is that's yeah
2:00:00 that's pretty much what tonight was for
2:00:02 me
2:00:03 anyway
2:00:05 um soaking up the knowledge classroom
2:00:08 full of sponges very cool and then we're
2:00:10 back to this this stuff we saw very very
2:00:13 cool very cool so anyway yeah so come
2:00:17 here introduce yourself the water
2:00:18 coolers where you can chat about this AI
2:00:20 stuff show and tell we just looked at um
2:00:23 AI tools and
2:00:24 resources um you can add your fa
2:00:27 favorite tool and people are adding
2:00:29 theirs so you can go you know just
2:00:31 scroll through here and find tools the
2:00:33 salon picks this is a list that I
2:00:35 personally um
2:00:37 curate it probably needs it probably
2:00:39 needs a pass I probably need to go find
2:00:41 some tools but um you know we I start
2:00:45 with chat GPT and talk about all the
2:00:47 things it can do and like if you're
2:00:48 using if you have if you have a chat GPT
2:00:51 Plus subscription the 20 Buck a month
2:00:54 thing and you're just using it for like
2:00:56 Tech stuff and maybe occasionally make
2:00:58 an image you should come look at this
2:01:00 list and see if you know all of the
2:01:03 things that it can
2:01:04 do and then learn how to do them start
2:01:07 playing with it and understand what all
2:01:09 these different things are because again
2:01:11 back to Sam alman's thing chat GPT can
2:01:15 be best understood as a preview so get
2:01:18 good with what it is now cuz it's a
2:01:20 preview of what's coming the kinds of
2:01:22 things that are
2:01:23 coming then I've got eight different
2:01:25 other large language models you can play
2:01:27 with I've got six or seven image
2:01:29 generation tools these are all getting
2:01:32 crazy good crazy sophisticated each one
2:01:36 is a whole different thing to learn um
2:01:39 with all of these tools I think it's
2:01:42 important for people to play with them
2:01:44 enough to understand oh I like this one
2:01:47 for this and that one for that you don't
2:01:48 have to use every
2:01:50 but it's good to understand what the
2:01:51 possibilities
2:01:53 are um video generation Runway ml pabs
2:01:57 Heen did and Visa um there's there's
2:02:00 probably a couple others I could add
2:02:01 there there's definitely some things I
2:02:03 can add in music but I've got 11 labs
2:02:05 for voice synthesis and thenso RI fusion
2:02:08 and sound raw for music generation and
2:02:11 then I got three things in um 3D worlds
2:02:13 and objects and I got four people you
2:02:15 should
2:02:15 follow
2:02:17 so all of this is free AI Salon is
2:02:21 free
2:02:23 because again I think this is important
2:02:26 you know obviously tonight it brought me
2:02:29 to tears
2:02:31 but I think what we're doing here is
2:02:33 actually a big deal and um I want to
2:02:36 keep it going and so yeah and then
2:02:38 there's also guilds so the guilds are
2:02:41 sub communities within the salon and you
2:02:44 can meet you know there's an education
2:02:47 Guild a video Guild Scott Scott from the
2:02:49 video Guild's doing a big event tomorrow
2:02:52 um he's doing his first in-person
2:02:55 um in-person
2:02:58 meeting inaugural Guild meeting so it's
2:03:01 tomorrow at 3 p.m. mountain so 2: p.m
2:03:10 Pacific hi my name is Scot

2:03:30 then deconstruct it uh in the meeting
2:03:34 and and teach everyone how to how to
2:03:36 build cool videos he does really cool
2:03:39 videos
2:03:41 so yeah so join participate introduce

2:04:39 phone I had the plumber here and I saw
2:04:40 it I'm like oh I got to save that so I
2:04:42 did it on the phone so it I didn't have
2:04:44 the opportunity to rename it I normally
2:04:46 when I do it on the Mac I name it the
2:04:48 name of the person that that did it um
2:04:51 but thank you for that it's beautiful um
