15. 3:35elon's Target launch date is November 30th the petty the petty little billionaire I just saw a video with him
16. 3:48on stage with the New York Times telling telling advertisers to go [ __ ] themselves so he's leaning in hard to
17. 3:57what whatever his point of view is he's leaning in hard hard so woo uh so that should be fun uh maybe they're afraid of him who
18. 4:11of Elon I don't think so U that would be so Elon yeah it would wouldn't it um so I figure what we'll do is I thought it
19. 4:18might be interesting to actually just read the letter um and I can I can give you know commentary where I can give commentary I

30. 6:02overhyped I'm on the other side of that coin um I think this stuff is is quite profound and it's moving it's moving
31. 6:10very very quickly like if you if you look at what's happening just in the video space in the last two weeks uh Pika 1.0 looks absolutely
32. 6:24remarkable oh there you are okay Kyle's is reboting rutro a little glitchy little glitchy dog I might need to uh I might need to

38. 7:40it's been that sort of stuff so what I'm going to do is that's a zoom call so I'll be doing a zoom call and then I
39. 7:47think I figured out how I can set up my my Tik Tok so I'm going to have my Tik Tok off to my side I'm going to be
40. 7:54talking to them but you'll be seeing them and me while I'm talking to them them not being there so so that should
41. 8:01be fun so I'm just doing stupid [ __ ] like that and then whenever I've got free time tomorrow I'll just be going
42. 8:09live and uh yeah so that should be fun that should be fun free up space on Tik Tock app what do you mean free up space on
43. 8:23Tik Tock app you mean like quit other apps Kevin I don't think anything store up in the cloud is going to do this I don't

52. 9:44languages and you know I think the gap between what they assume it is and what it really is is growing um so I think that for me it's
53. 9:56one of the great Joys like one of the reasons I love doing this channel is people that that come back here or say
54. 10:03it in real time I hadn't played with it I just went and played with it oh my God like that moment's amazing I love that

71. 13:04about the secret cyborgs are people who people in companies increasing um I guess cohorts in in companies that are secretly AI
72. 13:19literate and it's either in a company where there's a policy against AI or it's it's in a company where they're
73. 13:27just clueless about AI and then the employees are getting clued in about it and then one of the things the employees
74. 13:33are doing is they're using it secretly because it's dramatically improving their productivity so they don't want to
75. 13:40talk about it because they're getting done in 4 hours what used to take them 40 hours so why would you reveal that
76. 13:47secret um and then his argument is man it's on management to get aggressive about identifying those people and
77. 13:54pulling them into the conversation because th that they are where the power is so you have a lot more power than I
78. 14:02think you realize and and in my opinion I don't know if you're squandering it but I think you're squandering an
79. 14:08opportunity to see what would happen if you were a bit more public with your geekiness about AI like you know I don't think you need
80. 14:18to start a [ __ ] Tik Tock Channel like I did but but you know I think it would be in in your interest um all right all
81. 14:28right let's say hair is what was that what was going on with my hair hair is good so you got to stay
82. 14:41yeah the hair I just wet it so it's it's like newly glued so we're we're good for we're good for half an

84. 14:57use AI tools you're you're being left behind absolutely and I would argue if you're a knowledge worker and you're not

96. 16:29um it is actually kind of mindblowing to me that no one has caught these guys yet no one has caught these guys
97. 16:41yet everyone so Amazon just announced Q which you know conspiracy theories aside I think they could have think they could
98. 16:52have put put a little more time into branding it my company blocks open Ai and other Ma your players probably to prevent
99. 17:00people using sensitive info yeah that's probably not a bad idea what what I would say so long what is it cenade
100. 17:07serenade soong serenade um I like the name by the way um I would if if if if you're into this stuff I would I would uh I would
101. 17:22recommend seeing if you could talk to someone about volunteering to be on a team to do Tes say Hey you know I'd be interested in
102. 17:32either heading up a team or joining a team to test this AI stuff for the company and what they might do is they
103. 17:38might do a little carve out or they might do a Microsoft if if if you're a Microsoft shop they might do an instance of Microsoft
104. 17:49um Google deep mine researchers use AI tool to find two two million new materials felonius that story is
105. 17:58[ __ ] staggering let so I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna show that story um it's it's just like what happened with the um with
106. 18:09the protein folding where Deep Mind did the protein folding and found like 400,000 proteins in in I don't it was a
107. 18:17couple of days or something like that where normally it was two weeks to find one or some ridiculous amount and so
108. 18:23they just did it with materials so they found two million new materials and then of those a couple hundred, 350,000 are
109. 18:33like like useful like useful for things like batteries that charge up instantly and last for a long long time and like
110. 18:43you know room temperature superconductors and all the [ __ ] that we've been trying to [ __ ] solve for
111. 18:50centuries um they likely just came up with a bunch of that [ __ ] they're combinations of Crystal structures yeah
112. 18:57so they basically took Alpha fold and said okay now you did it for proteins now go do do it for materials it's
113. 19:03amazing amazing amazing amazing now I don't know how they manufacture all that [ __ ] but what it says to me is okay if they just found
114. 19:13350,000 usable novel materials what's going to happen over the next 5 years well material scientists are going to go figure out
115. 19:22how to manufacture that [ __ ] and what those things can do so the next the next 3 to 5 years from a scientific
116. 19:28breakthrough standpoint is like like the [ __ ] that we're playing with right now is so Child's Play for what's coming
117. 19:36compared to what's coming but that's okay I don't mind I don't mind being a child you're a night owl like me well I am I'm GNA be
118. 19:47tonight I asked my AI to compose my recommendation letter for and from my boss and he signed it perfect awesome I had an interview with
119. 19:57a recruiter of a large business recently he said he's using AI to be more productive but the company is not ready
120. 20:03yet wait he's the oh he's the recruiter the company is not ready yet well the company better [ __ ] get
121. 20:14ready my company has 1300 Tech analysts experts and AI but salespeople don't have it staggering staggering
122. 20:24staggering my company blocks open AI I this is like this is like AI company confessionals this is really good happy

140. 23:17built um what are you working on and what are you what all are you using you have three agis built James Hill uh do you mean three
141. 23:31gpts because as far as I know nobody has any HGI built AGI stands for artificial general intelligence and that's the
142. 23:39primary goal of open AI that company and they haven't hit it yet although they might have just hit it but uh that the
143. 23:47rumor is that they hit it and that's why they fired Sam mman so James I assume you mean you have three gpts built um
144. 23:55but if you have three agis built I'd love to see them because at at this point you should be you should have all
145. 24:01the money in the world you make M that's really funny Vicky you're central time so if you're up at 3 in the
146. 24:12morning it'll be 2: in the morning for me I'll probably still be live yeah my company loves AI because I couldn't
147. 24:19write copy for [ __ ] before and now sound like I'm good yeah exactly this is the thing about AI this is the other thing
148. 24:27everyone's like it's going to take my job it's going to take my job no no you know what it could it could actually do
149. 24:31it could level you up to be better at your job that's exactly what Shane just said so anyway okay enough comedy jokes

151. 24:48it to write you a project plan ask it to give you a recipe for a kind of pizza that no one's ever had before like ask
152. 24:55it to write you code and just watch what it does if you haven't experienced It Go Do It Go play with it until you have
153. 25:05what we call your Kevin McAllister moment right your home alone moment well when will I know when it is that I don't
154. 25:14know it'll be that thing that you'll do something with it where you didn't think it could do that thing there's a thing
155. 25:22that you're like well only humans can do that you're all like human super ior you're like yeah but it can't be
156. 25:31creative it can't come up with a new idea it can't be just play with it and at some point you it will do something where your jaw
157. 25:40will drop open and you know very often that's the first or second thing you do but if you're a cynical type and you're
158. 25:47like I got it you got to prove it to me that's okay dig deeper have it do things that you know a lot about and just try
159. 25:54to stump it and and see if you can stump it chances are that you can't so go play with that okay so that's that the other
160. 26:00thing that I'm going to talk about is the AI salon so this is a group that I started a year ago um next Tuesday so next
161. 26:09Tuesday is our one-year anniversary we started it the week after chat GPT launched because I lost my [ __ ]
162. 26:16mind um the the address is AIS salon. mn. um just go there sign up um if if it looks interesting to you um go to the
163. 26:28about the salon page and on the about the salon page you'll see all about the salon then you'll see
164. 26:42you'll see who we are how we think um what we're trying to accomplish and then most importantly you'll see what our
165. 26:50values are so the values are really important to me this is an an amazingly generous group it's an amazingly
166. 27:00um I don't know it's a special it's a special group of people that are assembling and this is our new home so
167. 27:05this site is a week and a half old we just launched this we were on Discord we've now moved over to Mighty Network
168. 27:12so this is the new home for the salon and I'm really excited about it because it's web-based and it it does a bunch of
169. 27:19things that Discord doesn't do Discord does some things it doesn't do there's some trade-offs but for the most part
170. 27:25I'm really happy with it um but the values are really important so these values we didn't just make these up
171. 27:31these these we sort of derived from who are people being in the salon just organically you know one is they're
172. 27:38super curious um the next value is people are very generous they they share what they learn so as they're learning
173. 27:44stuff they're like oh I figured this out go check this out or if they have a question they ask it and other people
174. 27:49answer it um that happens in here as well this this is very much an extension of the salon um exploration is is one of
175. 27:57the Valu I want people that are trying trying new [ __ ] um uh collaboration trying new [ __ ] with other people um
176. 28:04inclusion people are going to be coming from all different professions walks of life backgrounds things like that um
177. 28:12because everyone's going to be trying to figure this stuff out so that's super important to me and the final one is
178. 28:17empathy um I want this to be a group that recognizes that the changes that we're all facing because of this AI stuff they're intense
179. 28:27and they could be scary and people are going to be scared they're going to be angry you might get resistance and so having a group that
180. 28:36you can explore this stuff and know that you know um people understand that you might be confronting some of that stuff
181. 28:44is really really important to me so if those values resonate with you then jump in and there's there's some some fun

219. 34:35you can interact with various chatbots and AI Tools in one place making it convenient for users to try out

221. 34:47money from them kind of like a Creator economy for AI chatbots she's not listening are you interested in building
222. 34:53a chatbot or just using the existing ones on the platform that was my question before can I collaborate with someone else with a PO [Music]

224. 35:19is yes you can collaborate with someone else on PO to create and train a chatbot po provides tools for training and find
225. 35:26tuning your Bot to meet your specific needs and you can work with others to develop the chat bot's responses
226. 35:32personality and knowledge base it can be a great way to build a more sophisticated and engaging chatbot by
227. 35:39combining your expertise and experience with someone else's I think the answer is no she she's saying yeah get a friend

229. 35:56going to have to dig deeper on that one is there a way to log in AI salon on Mighty networks without having an email link

260. 41:59um so so this is the IOS app of Pi and it's got this mode right here where you can you can put it in conversation mode and so the night
261. 42:11there's a couple of nice things about Pi it's designed to be conversational so it's really good at talking it's frustrating as hell if
262. 42:19you're actually trying to use it like chat GPT and get [ __ ] done cuz it wants to chitchat so it's like tell tell me why

266. 42:46good and then they just added this thing in the past um couple of weeks where there's two modes there's just piie which is just
267. 43:00the normal sort of chat Mo mode and then there's support pi and if you click on support Pi it now see the little heart
268. 43:10in the in the thing there it's now designed to be like a therapist to be like a to give you you know compassionate
269. 43:18support um and you can talk to it like that and so and and it looks like what sto's discovered here is that there are
270. 43:25these other modes info and doer py they're not revealed in the interface yet but it it wouldn't surprise me if
271. 43:31there's going to be lots of different models this is likely going to be what what Apple does as well where Apple's
272. 43:38going to have lots of different agents that will do stuff on your behalf and they're they're going to be these specialized little
273. 43:45agents so so right now these tools are very generalized and and so I think they're going to increasingly get specialized so anyway

280. 45:15that dramatically increases the speed and efficiency of Discovery by predicting the stability of new
281. 45:21materials unbelievable with genome we've multiplied the number so so there was there was all the brewhaha about what was it a month and a
282. 45:32half ago two months ago of room temperature super conductive material out of South Korea and then it
283. 45:41turned out maybe it wasn't real and like we haven't kind of heard anything from it so it sounds like that that might
284. 45:47have fizzled out but the the whole point there is super conductivity at room temperature having it stable at room temperature that is a
285. 45:58holy grail of Material Science well this just found 380,000 stable crystals so so somewhere within there something's going to do something
286. 46:12pretty [ __ ] remarkable 800 years of worth of knowledge unbelievable among these candidates are materials that have
287. 46:19potential to develop future transformative Technologies ranging from superconductors I I can't too far away

316. 51:24been more excited about the future I'm extremely grateful for everyone's hard work in an unclear and unprecedented
317. 51:30situation I believe in our resilience and spirit to set us apart in in the industry I feel so so good about our
318. 51:38probability of success for achieving our mission before getting to what comes next I'd like to share a thanks love and
319. 51:44respect to Ilia that's Ilia satova who's the the chief scientist co-founder and was one of the ones on the board that
320. 51:54voted to oust Sam Alman so the first person he thinks is Ilia I Harbor zero ill will towards him while Ilia will no
321. 52:02longer serve on the board so he was fired from the board we hope to continue our working relationship and are
322. 52:08discussing how we can continue to work at open AI so that'll be interesting to see if he stays and I guarantee you that
323. 52:14every tech company on the planet is trying to recruit him away right now uh I am grateful to Adam Tasha and Helen
324. 52:22for working with us to come to a solution that best serves the mission uh Tasha and Helen were the other two board
325. 52:28members that voted Sam out along so it was Adam Ilia Tasha and Helen voted Sam out uh apparently it was Helen I think
326. 52:38toner is her last name and and Sam Alman uh had been having tensions uh over she wrote a white paper that was on one of the pages of the
327. 52:49white paper it was veiled critical of open Ai and apparently it pissed off Sam and said you shouldn't do that so there was some
328. 52:58tension there but we still don't know what precipitated him being fired it seemed like it was a combination of
329. 53:03things but I don't know I'm excited to continue to work with Adam so Adam is still on the board and I'm sincerely
330. 53:09thankful to Helen and Tasha salong um for investing a huge amount of effort into this process thank you also
331. 53:17also to EMT so this is EMT Shear who was the interim CEO for two days uh he was a he was an AI slower Downer he wanted to slow down AI
332. 53:27development from a 10 to a one or a two um so he would have absolutely slowed down open AI um thank you also to EMT
333. 53:35who had a a key and constructive role in helping us reach this outcome emt's dedication to AI safety and balancing
334. 53:43stakeholders interests was clear okay so it's a nod to thank you for wanting to slow things down uh there's the door
335. 53:52Mera did an amazing job throughout all of this serving the mission of the team she's very impressive I like Mera a lot
336. 53:59uh I was actually surprised when they brought in EMT over merera but I don't know maybe there was something about

339. 54:19not be open AI without her agree with that Greg Greg and I are Partners in running this company Greg Brockman so he
340. 54:27so when Sam was fired Greg was stripped of his chairman of the board role and quit we have never quite figured out how
341. 54:36to communicate that to the or wait Greg and I are Partners in running this company so it sounds like the two of
342. 54:41them are the ones really driving the ship we have never quite figured out how to communicate that to to on the org

365. 57:58Kevin's the I mean the CEO Kevin's the CTO I don't Amy and Brad I forget who they are uh you've been incredible
366. 58:06Partners throughout exactly the right priorities all the way through they've had our backs and we're ready to welcome all of
367. 58:14us if we couldn't achieve our primary goal which is to do it at open AI we clearly made the right choice choice to
368. 58:20partner with Microsoft and I'm excited that our new board will include them as non-voting observers so so SAA was like yeah I

378. 59:48months or so ago it's it's one of their blog posts they talked about um super alignment that Ilia SATA Suk I don't know how to say his
379. 59:58name I thought it was SSA but I think it's SS Ilia was heading up the super alignment project and the first thing
380. 1:00:06that they're saying here is advancing our research plan and further investing in our full stack safety efforts which
381. 1:00:14have always been critical to our work that's the thing they're starting with our research mode road map is clear this
382. 1:00:20was a wonderfully focusing time I share the excitement you all feel we will turn this crisis into a opportunity I'll work
383. 1:00:29with mea on this so it sounds like they're still trying to find a place for Ilia so it's not clear that Ilia is back
384. 1:00:37sounds like mea is going to be heading up safety at least short term um and safety is the first thing
385. 1:00:43they mentioned continuing to improve and deploy our products and serve our customers is the second one it's
386. 1:00:49important that people get to experience the benefits and promise of AI and have the opportunity to to shape it we
387. 1:00:55continue to believe that great products are the best way to do this I'll work with Brad Jason and Anna I think those were the
388. 1:01:14three oh Brad Jason and Anna I don't know who Brad Jason and Anna are um to ensure our unwavering commitment to users customers partners and
389. 1:01:26governments around the world is clear okay Brett Larry and Adam I think those are the researchers will be working very
390. 1:01:33hard on the extremely important task of building out the board oh no those those are the board members um building out the board oh wait
391. 1:01:43okay we'll be working on the very hard extremely important task of building out a board of diverse perspectives so so one of the things
392. 1:01:55that they've been um appropriately dinged for is like the board is now three white guys um and so they're going to expand the board and
393. 1:02:08hopefully they add some diversity to it improving our governance structure and overseeing independent review of recent
