2:02 happy oneye anniversary Eve we are

2:10 gpon later tonight or early tomorrow
2:13 morning my time uh because I'm an
2:17 [Laughter]
2:21 idiot hey Kyle coffee indeed I am well
2:25 caffeinated I don't know who needs to

2:42 time for once in my life I got someone
2:46 to see me I don't know the words to this
2:49 song
2:55 [Music]
2:58 yeah okay
3:01 let's see what are we going to do
3:02 tonight um a big letter was posted by
3:05 Sam Altman so couple of things couple of
3:09 things are lining up really
3:12 interestingly um the letter from Sam
3:16 saying he's back is tonight and their
3:18 birthday is tomorrow or chat gpt's
3:20 birthday is
3:22 tomorrow um we still haven't seen grock
3:26 from from Yan Elon
3:28 Musk and
3:31 I would not be at all surprised if
3:36 elon's Target launch date is November
3:40 30th the petty the petty little
3:46 billionaire I just saw a video with him
3:49 on stage with the New York Times telling
3:52 telling advertisers to go [ __ ]
3:54 themselves so he's leaning in hard to
3:57 what whatever his point of view is he's
3:59 leaning in hard
4:02 hard so
4:05 woo uh so that should be
4:08 fun uh maybe they're afraid of him who
4:12 of Elon I don't think so U that would be
4:14 so Elon yeah it would wouldn't it um so
4:17 I figure what we'll do is I thought it
4:19 might be interesting to actually just
4:20 read the letter
4:23 um and I can I can give you know
4:26 commentary where I can give commentary I
4:28 can't give a lot I don't really have any
4:29 any inside information Elon equals adult
4:32 toddler dumpster
4:36 fire oh encourage more viewers to share
4:39 good idea Be not Afraid so if you are a
4:42 viewer or even a more viewer um would
4:45 you share this live kindly share this
4:47 live um so starting at midnight tonight
4:53 my time Mountain time so 4 hours from
4:56 now yeah no
4:59 yeah math 4 hours from now um I'm going
5:04 to come back on so I'll do this for
5:05 about 2 hours 2 hours and change like I
5:07 normally do and then I'm going to go I
5:10 don't know watch TV maybe take a little
5:12 cat nap and I'm coming back at midnight
5:14 and we're going to kick off sort of a
5:17 random series of whenever I've got free
5:19 time in the next 24 hours I'm going to
5:21 be on here either demoing chat GPT
5:24 talking about chat GPT I don't know
5:27 answering questions doing cool challeng
5:30 [ __ ] like that uh until my my eyes done
5:36 bleed um because I think it's actually
5:40 really important I think I think
5:41 November 30th marks a turning point in
5:44 history I you know you'll see in the
5:48 lower leftand corner there's a series
5:50 that I created called underhyped that's
5:52 a bunch of videos that I created on why
5:55 I think AI is a bigger deal than than
5:58 people are are talking about it
5:59 everyone's like oh so
6:02 overhyped I'm on the other side of that
6:05 coin
6:06 um I think this stuff is is quite
6:09 profound and it's moving it's moving
6:11 very very quickly like if you if you
6:12 look at what's happening just in the
6:14 video space in the last two
6:18 weeks uh Pika 1.0 looks absolutely
6:24 remarkable oh there you are
6:28 okay Kyle's is reboting
6:32 rutro a little glitchy little glitchy
6:34 dog I might need to uh I might need to
6:37 reset the router I'll definitely do that
6:40 before the next one okay so tomorrow's
6:43 the 30th so yeah so 900 a.m. my
6:49 time had to give
6:52 Dei moment meeting so I pulled out piie
6:57 and she did it for me in three languages
7:00 mallister
7:05 everyone oh that's awesome
7:08 cuno that's so
7:12 cool oh that's really good all right so
7:15 tomorrow morning I am uh I'm an invited
7:19 guest
7:21 on um content Evolutions New World call
7:25 which is a it's a small group of
7:27 professionals that I work with Kevin
7:29 Clark is is my senior adviser for Story
7:31 vine so he hosts these things so he's
7:34 invited on me to that call to talk about
7:38 open AI chat GPT the year what a year
7:40 it's been that sort of stuff so what I'm
7:42 going to do is that's a zoom call so
7:46 I'll be doing a zoom call and then I
7:48 think I figured out how I can set up my
7:51 my Tik Tok so I'm going to have my Tik
7:53 Tok off to my side I'm going to be
7:54 talking to them but you'll be seeing
7:56 them and me while I'm talking to them
7:59 them not being there so so that should
8:02 be fun so I'm just doing stupid [ __ ]
8:04 like that and then whenever I've got
8:05 free time tomorrow I'll just be going
8:09 live and uh yeah so that should be fun
8:14 that should be
8:15 fun free up space on Tik Tock
8:21 app what do you mean free up space on
8:23 Tik Tock app you mean like quit other
8:25 apps
8:27 Kevin I don't think anything store up in
8:30 the cloud is going to do this I don't
8:32 know what that means clear up space on
8:34 the Tik Tok
8:36 app oh Cindy's gonna be on the C call
8:39 tomorrow oh that's awesome to make it
8:41 not freeze I think hang on well let me
8:43 let me uh just I'm gonna it's gonna
8:45 freeze for a second I'm going to go
8:47 force quit some other app back back back
8:49 back back back back back back back okay
8:52 uh Dei equals diversity Equity inclusion
8:55 yep I asked Pi how AI can help with
8:58 inclusive communication
9:01 and then had it speak three different
9:03 languages he must have been all
9:07 like I mean that's the thing about this
9:10 AI stuff is I I
9:12 think it's getting it's getting more
9:15 Kevin mallister not less
9:18 because for people who haven't gotten
9:21 curious about it one moment please okay
9:25 Tobias for people who haven't gotten
9:27 curious about it yet in their heads it's
9:30 still like chat gbt of a year ago right
9:34 where it's like you know it does some
9:37 weird stuffs it's kind of like a Google
9:38 Search
9:40 right and so I think when they see
9:43 things like it talks and it translates
9:45 languages and you know I think the gap
9:49 between what they assume it is and what
9:51 it really is is
9:53 growing um so I think that for me it's
9:57 one of the great Joys like one of the
9:58 reasons I love doing this channel is
10:01 people that that come back here or say
10:03 it in real time I hadn't played with it
10:06 I just went and played with it oh my God
10:08 like that moment's amazing I love that
10:11 moment um that's cool all right just
10:17 joining catching up okay let's
10:21 see Wicked glitch of the West one moment
10:24 please solar flares all right is it is
10:28 this good now or do I need to go out and
10:30 reset my router do tell me cut off on my
10:35 end give me feedback people tell me what
10:38 to
10:39 do we just went from 100 people to 58 so
10:42 I'm wondering if it's glitching out or
10:44 if it's good okay all right good thumbs
10:50 up you're fine it's better I don't
10:53 know I use it for everything at work and
10:57 never reveal my secrets ah you're a
10:59 secret cyborg so side hustle M Mimi um
11:03 go read there's a there's a guy named
11:05 Ethan mullik thank you Sherry D oh you
11:08 just leveled up to level 22 thank you
11:09 very much I appreciate that um go
11:14 uh look up a guy named Ethan mik M o l l
11:18 i c
11:20 k he's got a Blog called one useful
11:23 thing. org and go look for the article
11:26 called detecting the secret cyborgs
11:29 you're a secret cyborg side hustle Mimi
11:32 it is my contention that would it it
11:34 would actually be in your best interest
11:37 to not keep it a secret I think you
11:39 should talk about it AI brought us
11:42 together it's so true it's so true um
11:46 and and here's why so kruno who who was
11:48 just in here who just was in the the Dei
11:51 conversation and blew everyone's mind
11:55 um she has been letting her self be
12:00 known and and really good things are
12:02 happening and I'm seeing that pretty
12:04 consistently that anyone that I know
12:05 that's talking about that they're doing
12:07 this
12:10 um people Snicker at them and people go
12:13 a that's stupid you're
12:15 dumb and then those people a month or
12:18 two later are like could you help
12:20 me I think I need to learn
12:24 this mik m o l l i c k here hang on
12:37 [Music]
12:39 I would restart the router free up Tik
12:41 Tock space like someone said not
12:44 deleting oh before you start 24-hour
12:47 thing yeah I'll do
12:50 [Laughter]
12:53 that all
12:55 right so Ethan mullik one useful thing.
12:59 or um the article is called detecting
13:02 the secret cyborgs it basically talks
13:04 about the secret cyborgs are people who
13:07 people in companies increasing
13:12 um I guess cohorts in in
13:15 companies that are secretly AI
13:19 literate and it's either in a company
13:22 where there's a policy against AI or
13:26 it's it's in a company where they're
13:27 just clueless about AI and then the
13:29 employees are getting clued in about it
13:32 and then one of the things the employees
13:34 are doing is they're using it secretly
13:36 because it's dramatically improving
13:38 their productivity so they don't want to
13:40 talk about it because they're getting
13:42 done in 4 hours what used to take them
13:44 40 hours so why would you reveal that
13:47 secret um and then his argument is man
13:51 it's on management to get aggressive
13:53 about identifying those people and
13:54 pulling them into the conversation
13:56 because th that they are where the power
13:59 is
13:59 so you have a lot more power than I
14:02 think you realize and and in my opinion
14:05 I don't know if you're squandering it
14:07 but I think you're squandering an
14:08 opportunity to see what would happen if
14:10 you were a bit more public with your
14:12 geekiness about
14:15 AI like you know I don't think you need
14:18 to start a [ __ ] Tik Tock Channel like
14:21 I did but but you know I think it would
14:25 be in in your interest um all right all
14:29 right let's say hair is what was that
14:31 what was going on with my
14:38 hair hair is good so you got to stay
14:41 yeah the hair I just wet it so it's it's
14:43 like newly glued so we're we're good for
14:46 we're good for half an
14:48 hour oh good somebody found the Ethan
14:50 mic thing detecting Dash the- sec-
14:55 cyborgs if you are a developer and don't
14:58 use AI tools you're you're being left
14:59 behind absolutely and I would argue if
15:02 you're a knowledge worker and you're not
15:04 using AI tools you're being left behind
15:06 Sherry D thank you so much I appreciate
15:08 that
15:10 um okay so let's let's do a thing here
15:13 we we've got some folks if you'd be so
15:15 kind share the live um if you give me a
15:19 follow so couple of things you can do to
15:21 support the channel I'm about to to be
15:24 live for as many of the next 24 hours
15:27 after midnight as I can in C celebration
15:29 of the oneye anniversary of chat GPT um
15:32 so you can share the live so we can get
15:34 some people
15:35 following um hang out we'll talk we'll
15:40 have fun we'll make jokes we'll blow
15:42 some Minds maybe or fail miserably
15:46 trying if you'd follow the channel if
15:49 you dig what this is about if you want
15:51 to learn about Ai and follow this stuff
15:53 um follow the channel um you can pick up
15:57 the series that's on screen down below
15:58 and on the lower left if you want to if
16:00 you're curious about Ai and trying to
16:02 figure out why it's such a big [ __ ]
16:04 deal um you can do that and then yeah
16:07 and then hit the hearty heart things and
16:08 all all that sort of stuff anything you
16:10 can do to support the channel would be
16:11 great so what I'm going to do though is
16:14 um I'm going to I'm going to get you up
16:15 to speed on where to start so where to
16:18 start and what the next 24 hours is
16:21 going to be or the next 30 hours for me
16:24 is going to really be about is not those
16:26 things but this chat GPT
16:30 um it is actually kind of mindblowing to
16:35 me that no one has caught these guys
16:38 yet no one has caught these guys
16:41 yet everyone so Amazon just announced Q
16:48 which you know conspiracy theories aside
16:51 I think they could have think they could
16:52 have put put a little more time into
16:54 branding
16:55 it my company blocks open Ai and other
16:58 Ma your players probably to prevent
17:00 people using sensitive info yeah that's
17:02 probably not a bad idea what what I
17:04 would say so long what is it cenade
17:07 serenade soong serenade um I like the
17:11 name by the way
17:15 um I would if if if if you're into this
17:18 stuff I would I would uh I would
17:22 recommend seeing if you could talk to
17:25 someone about volunteering to be on a
17:27 team to do Tes
17:30 say Hey you know I'd be interested in
17:32 either heading up a team or joining a
17:34 team to test this AI stuff for the
17:37 company and what they might do is they
17:39 might do a little carve out or they
17:40 might do a Microsoft if if if you're a
17:43 Microsoft shop they might do an instance
17:45 of
17:47 Microsoft
17:49 um Google deep mine researchers use AI
17:52 tool to find two two million new
17:55 materials felonius that story is
17:59 [ __ ] staggering let so I'm I'm gonna
18:02 I'm gonna show that story um it's it's
18:06 just like what happened with the um with
18:09 the protein folding where Deep Mind did
18:11 the protein folding and found like
18:14 400,000 proteins in in I don't it was a
18:17 couple of days or something like that
18:19 where normally it was two weeks to find
18:21 one or some ridiculous amount and so
18:23 they just did it with materials so they
18:26 found two million new materials and then
18:29 of those a couple hundred,
18:31 350,000 are
18:34 like like useful like useful for things
18:37 like batteries that charge up instantly
18:40 and last for a long long time and like
18:44 you know room temperature
18:45 superconductors and all the [ __ ] that
18:47 we've been trying to [ __ ] solve for
18:50 centuries um they likely just came up
18:53 with a bunch of that [ __ ] they're
18:55 combinations of Crystal structures yeah
18:57 so they basically took Alpha fold and
18:59 said okay now you did it for proteins
19:01 now go do do it for materials it's
19:03 amazing amazing amazing amazing now I
19:06 don't know how they manufacture all that
19:08 [ __ ] but what it says to me is okay if
19:11 they just found
19:13 350,000 usable novel
19:17 materials what's going to happen over
19:19 the next 5 years well material
19:21 scientists are going to go figure out
19:23 how to manufacture that [ __ ] and what
19:24 those things can do so the next the next
19:27 3 to 5 years from a scientific
19:29 breakthrough standpoint is like like the
19:32 [ __ ] that we're playing with right now
19:34 is so Child's Play for what's coming
19:37 compared to what's coming but that's
19:39 okay I don't mind I don't mind being a
19:40 child you're a night owl like me well I
19:43 am I'm GNA be
19:47 tonight I asked my AI to compose my
19:50 recommendation letter
19:52 for and from my boss and he signed it
19:55 perfect awesome I had an interview with
19:58 a recruiter of a large business recently
20:00 he said he's using AI to be more
20:02 productive but the company is not ready
20:04 yet wait he's the oh he's the
20:08 recruiter the company is not ready yet
20:11 well the company better [ __ ] get
20:14 ready my company has 1300 Tech analysts
20:18 experts and AI but salespeople don't
20:21 have it staggering
20:23 staggering
20:25 staggering my company blocks open AI I
20:29 this is like this is like AI company
20:31 confessionals this is really good happy
20:33 birthday to the salon thank you very
20:35 much next Tuesday is the one-year
20:38 anniversary anniversary of the AI salon
20:40 so I'll give information about that in a
20:42 moment James Hill thank you very much I
20:44 appreciate that those gifts mean a lot
20:46 does this mean when I wake up at 3:00
20:48 a.m. you may still be live uh I don't
20:51 know where are you Vicky but yes
20:54 possibly I'm so I'm going to go live
20:56 here until 10 or 10:30 my time I'm
20:59 mountain time so another two
21:02 hours and then I'm going to come back on
21:04 at midnight so I'm going to I'm going to
21:06 you know do a Dick Clark ball drop or
21:10 I'll do a Dick Clark you can make money
21:15 with you can make Mone
21:18 with you can make money with maybe I'll
21:21 just do that for 24 hours I do you know
21:24 what if I just pushed this button for 24
21:27 hours I bet I'd have a million followers
21:29 by
21:30 morning I jumped through a window I
21:33 thought you were doing the 24-hour thing
21:35 December 5th I listen this is Chad add
21:39 we no December 5th is the um is the AI
21:44 Salon uh oneyear anniversary party so
21:47 it's just our normal meeting um I was
21:50 talking about doing it then but I just I
21:52 decided to just do it
21:54 now cuz tomorrow's the 30th and it just
21:57 seems just seems like a bigger deal um
22:00 anyway okay good morning could you
22:02 please tell me where you got the
22:04 button you in this button you mean this
22:08 button that says
22:12 this it's this magical place it's called
22:16 [Laughter]
22:19 Amazon oh my God and it's solid gold
22:22 it's solid 18 Kat gold I I they I'm sure
22:26 they sold a plastic one but I didn't buy
22:28 that I just just I make so much money
22:29 with chat GPT I buy solid gold
22:33 buttons he's going 24/7 tomorrow until
22:36 December 5th that's
22:39 cute yeah that's it that's
22:47 it they have a self-contained
22:53 AI dude don't you want to do something
22:55 bigger bigger than what
23:00 just talking about chat jpt all night I
23:03 mean I would do something bigger but
23:05 that would require planning and
23:09 thinking and as you know if you're a fan
23:11 of this channel I'm not a fan of either
23:13 of those uh I have three agis
23:17 built um what are you working on and
23:21 what are you what all are you using you
23:25 have three agis built James Hill uh do
23:30 you mean three
23:32 gpts because as far as I know nobody has
23:35 any HGI built AGI stands for artificial
23:38 general intelligence and that's the
23:39 primary goal of open AI that company and
23:42 they haven't hit it yet although they
23:44 might have just hit it but uh that the
23:47 rumor is that they hit it and that's why
23:49 they fired Sam mman so James I assume
23:52 you mean you have three gpts built um
23:55 but if you have three agis built I'd
23:57 love to see them because at at this
24:00 point you should be you should have all
24:02 the money in the world you make
24:08 M that's really funny Vicky you're
24:10 central time so if you're up at 3 in the
24:12 morning it'll be 2: in the morning for
24:15 me I'll probably still be live yeah my
24:18 company loves AI because I couldn't
24:20 write copy for [ __ ] before and now sound
24:22 like I'm good yeah exactly this is the
24:26 thing about AI this is the other thing
24:27 everyone's like it's going to take my
24:28 job it's going to take my job no no you
24:30 know what it could it could actually do
24:32 it could level you up to be better at
24:34 your job that's exactly what Shane just
24:36 said so anyway okay enough comedy jokes
24:39 enough stuff if you've not played with
24:42 chat GPT go there right now just go
24:44 there right now and start
24:46 playing ask it to write you a poem ask
24:49 it to write you a project plan ask it to
24:51 give you a recipe for a kind of pizza
24:54 that no one's ever had before like ask
24:56 it to write you code and just watch what
24:59 it does if you haven't experienced It Go
25:02 Do It Go play with it until you have
25:06 what we call your Kevin McAllister
25:08 moment right your home alone moment well
25:12 when will I know when it is that I don't
25:14 know it'll be that thing that you'll do
25:17 something with it where you didn't think
25:20 it could do that thing there's a thing
25:23 that you're like well only humans can do
25:25 that you're all like human super
25:29 ior you're like yeah but it can't be
25:32 creative it can't come up with a new
25:34 idea it can't
25:35 be just play with it and at some point
25:38 you it will do something where your jaw
25:41 will drop open and you know very often
25:43 that's the first or second thing you do
25:46 but if you're a cynical type and you're
25:47 like I got it you got to prove it to me
25:49 that's okay dig deeper have it do things
25:52 that you know a lot about and just try
25:54 to stump it and and see if you can stump
25:56 it chances are that you can't so go play
25:58 with that okay so that's that the other
26:01 thing that I'm going to talk about is
26:02 the AI
26:04 salon so this is a group that I started
26:07 a year ago um next Tuesday so next
26:10 Tuesday is our one-year anniversary we
26:12 started it the week after chat GPT
26:14 launched because I lost my [ __ ]
26:16 mind um the the address is AIS salon.
26:21 mn. um just go there sign up um if if it
26:26 looks interesting to you um go to the
26:28 about the salon page and on the about
26:32 the salon page you'll
26:39 see all about the salon then you'll see
26:43 you'll see who we are how we think um
26:47 what we're trying to accomplish and then
26:49 most importantly you'll see what our
26:51 values are so the values are really
26:53 important to me this is an an amazingly
26:56 generous group it's an amazingly
27:00 um I don't know it's a special it's a
27:03 special group of people that are
27:04 assembling and this is our new home so
27:06 this site is a week and a half old we
27:09 just launched this we were on Discord
27:11 we've now moved over to Mighty Network
27:13 so this is the new home for the salon
27:15 and I'm really excited about it because
27:17 it's web-based and it it does a bunch of
27:20 things that Discord doesn't do Discord
27:22 does some things it doesn't do there's
27:24 some trade-offs but for the most part
27:25 I'm really happy with it um but the
27:28 values are really important so these
27:30 values we didn't just make these up
27:32 these these we sort of derived from who
27:34 are people being in the salon just
27:36 organically you know one is they're
27:38 super curious um the next value is
27:41 people are very generous they they share
27:43 what they learn so as they're learning
27:45 stuff they're like oh I figured this out
27:47 go check this out or if they have a
27:48 question they ask it and other people
27:49 answer it um that happens in here as
27:51 well this this is very much an extension
27:53 of the salon um exploration is is one of
27:57 the Valu I want people that are trying
27:59 trying new [ __ ] um uh collaboration
28:02 trying new [ __ ] with other people um
28:05 inclusion people are going to be coming
28:07 from all different professions walks of
28:09 life backgrounds things like that um
28:12 because everyone's going to be trying to
28:14 figure this stuff out so that's super
28:16 important to me and the final one is
28:17 empathy um I want this to be a group
28:20 that recognizes
28:22 that the changes that we're all facing
28:25 because of this AI stuff they're intense
28:28 and they could be scary and people are
28:29 going to be scared they're going to be
28:31 angry you might get
28:32 resistance and so having a group that
28:36 you can explore this stuff and know that
28:40 you know um people understand that you
28:42 might be confronting some of that stuff
28:44 is really really important to me so if
28:46 those values resonate with you then jump
28:48 in and there's there's some some fun
28:52 stuff so there's about the salon there's
28:54 Rules of Engagement uh navigating the
28:56 network there's some some uh some stuff
28:59 here
29:01 um and in the AI Salon content there's
29:05 Salon streams and meetings so there's
29:07 the um the special event is our one-year
29:10 anniversary meeting so that's December
29:12 5th at 5:00 P p.m. mountain so you can
29:15 go RSVP to that and then in the
29:18 community section there's a Welcome
29:20 Wagon where you introduce yourself so
29:23 one of the values is generosity please
29:25 go introduce yourself there's a water
29:26 cooler where you can just chitchat
29:28 there's a show and tell channel so one
29:29 of the things about the show and tell
29:31 channel is if tonight as as we're
29:34 talking and you're playing and you're
29:35 doing stuff you come up with something
29:37 cool jump into the show and tell Channel
29:38 and share it and so there's a bunch of
29:41 cool things in there uh this is from
29:42 Cindy corporate AI confessional this
29:45 this this was totally a corporate AI
29:47 confessional tonight this is
29:50 great that's great happy birthday chat
29:54 GPT from jrc very cool
29:58 very very cool oh that's beautiful watch
30:01 Kyle jump out of a cake damn it I knew I
30:03 should have gotten the life-size
30:05 cake happy birthday chat GPT
30:09 beautiful beautiful Be not Afraid lovely
30:13 look the the Llama the gummy bear the
30:16 Hedgehog and the turtle those are the uh
30:18 the four representative animals of the
30:22 um of the uh what is this AI learning
30:27 lab AI accurate in diagnosing suspicious
30:30 skin lesions I actually know someone in
30:33 the building I work in um has a a
30:36 technology to do that so I wonder if
30:38 that's her company
30:40 thonus um okay so that's that stuff um
30:46 so yeah so go go hang out in the uh in
30:49 the AI Salon meet some people introduce
30:51 yourself connect connect connect um if
30:54 you show up here regularly you're called
30:56 an irregular those the the people that
30:58 showed up here regularly named
31:00 themselves the Irregulars which is my
31:01 favorite group name of all time um and
31:06 uh and uh there's a private channel for
31:09 The Irregular so if you're a subscriber
31:11 to this channel you have access to that
31:13 uh or if you just show up here a lot
31:14 I'll give you access to that um let's
31:17 see side hustle Mimi here's a question I
31:19 want to build a bot on po po weight
31:21 listed plus how do I open it up to
31:24 others to
31:26 mod
31:28 I don't know if you can side H hustle
31:31 Mimi and I don't think you can with chat
31:34 GPT either
31:37 um these are not the these are all these
31:40 tools are very very early um the only
31:43 way you could probably do it is give
31:44 them access to your um your post
31:47 subscription which you probably don't
31:48 want to
31:50 do um it yeah I I don't know I do I I
31:56 honestly don't know the answer to that
31:59 although we could ask
32:05 Pi sorry my voice just what is the AI
32:10 salon salon
32:12 on what platform it's called Mighty
32:17 networks so this is mighty networks so
32:20 it's got all these oh the other thing
32:21 about the salon is it's got guilds so
32:24 we've got like an AI 101 Guild and
32:26 Leah's got an Art Guild and there's the
32:28 writer circle with Jane and AI for
32:30 business with with Bradley and Ken P's
32:34 got a mechanics Guild for geeking out um
32:37 there's a healthcare Guild there's a
32:38 video Guild I think we're going to add
32:39 an education Guild so there's different
32:42 subcommunities within here that you can
32:43 really dig deep on on subjects um that's
32:46 that's that's a powerful part of it tool
32:48 but the the platform is mighty
32:51 networks
32:53 um yeah and and we've got we do have a
32:56 Discord server but but we're we're
32:58 retiring the guilds on that you're
33:01 you're going to still be able to access
33:02 that for Mid journey and things like
33:04 that or if you want to build
33:06 Bots um but let's go
33:10 to let's go to so I'm on pi.com or no
33:14 I'm on the PI app
33:16 Pi the PI
33:19 app hang
33:24 on there's Pi so I'm gonna put it in
33:26 conversation mode
33:31 I have a question about po.com when you
33:33 create Bots there is there any way to
33:37 allow other people to collaborate on
33:38 your Bot with
33:44 you now she may lie and hallucinate but
33:47 we'll
33:48 [Music]
33:50 see yes it is possible to allow other
33:53 people to collaborate on your Bot with
33:55 you depending on the platform you are
33:57 using there may be different ways to do
33:59 this for example some platforms like
34:02 Microsoft co-pilot Studio have a share
34:04 feature that allows you to invite other
34:06 people to collaborate on your Bot other
34:09 platforms like
34:10 [Music]
34:13 o but I was talking about po.com poe.com
34:20 [Music]
34:28 oh you must be referring to qu's PO
34:31 which is a platform for accessing AI
34:32 chat Bots and language models with po
34:35 you can interact with various chatbots
34:37 and AI Tools in one place making it
34:39 convenient for users to try out
34:41 different AI Technologies the cool thing
34:44 about PO is that it also allows users to
34:46 create their own chat Bots and earn
34:48 money from them kind of like a Creator
34:50 economy for AI chatbots she's not
34:52 listening are you interested in building
34:53 a chatbot or just using the existing
34:55 ones on the platform
34:58 that was my question before can I
35:00 collaborate with someone else with a PO
35:06 [Music]
35:13 chatbot ah gotcha I think you're asking
35:16 whether you can collaborate with someone
35:17 else to build a chatbot on PO the answer
35:20 is yes you can collaborate with someone
35:22 else on PO to create and train a chatbot
35:25 po provides tools for training and find
35:27 tuning your Bot to meet your specific
35:29 needs and you can work with others to
35:31 develop the chat bot's responses
35:33 personality and knowledge base it can be
35:36 a great way to build a more
35:37 sophisticated and engaging chatbot by
35:40 combining your expertise and experience
35:42 with someone else's I think the answer
35:44 is
35:45 no she she's saying yeah get a friend
35:49 and work on it together um I don't I
35:52 she's not quite understanding it I
35:53 assume not um I I just don't know you're
35:56 going to have to dig deeper on that one
35:58 is there a way to log in AI salon on
36:00 Mighty networks without having an email
36:04 link
36:05 sent I uh yeah uh yeah use uh Google
36:11 single sign on like they've got single
36:13 sign on you can sign on without um an
36:16 email I think but I don't know I
36:19 honestly don't
36:23 know again I'm I'm brand new to the
36:26 platform
36:28 um I'm in there but haven't connected
36:31 yet feel like I'm still on GPT training
36:34 wheels wait you're in there but
36:42 haven't c o n e CC D
36:46 yet
36:48 con I don't know what that word supposed
36:50 to mean feel like I'm still on GPT
36:52 training wheels I'm going to show a
36:54 bunch of chat GPT stuff tonight so hang
36:56 out and and we'll we'll we'll get you
36:58 we'll get you off those training wheels
36:59 pretty quick um but here's the here's
37:03 the thing if you haven't upgraded to
37:06 chat GPT plus the the 20 Buck a month
37:10 thing they they're limiting that upgrade
37:13 maybe that's something they'll turn back
37:15 on tomorrow that would sure be
37:17 nice the other thing that we could see
37:19 tomorrow is the uh the chat GPT the the
37:23 custom GPT store my they said by the end
37:26 of the month at at the beginning of the
37:28 month but they had a little Kur fuffle
37:31 in
37:32 there and they fired Sam Alman so I have
37:35 a feeling that's going to be
37:37 delayed Steve Pennington 452 he owes me
37:41 20
37:43 bucks oh that's the thing if you really
37:45 want to chat GPT a uh a open AI GPT Plus
37:51 subscription you can buy them on eBay
37:53 people are selling them on eBay for a
37:54 profit I remember the Hedgehog with a
37:57 Melle
37:58 exactly um gosh I love her I know isn't
38:02 she the best the the PO the pie lady I
38:06 got to name her she I'm sure she has a
38:08 name oh no she doesn't she's she's um
38:10 voice she's Voice number five how
38:13 dystopian future of of inflection to
38:16 name her voice number
38:20 five she checked out a little yeah yeah
38:23 she was not normally she's on top of the
38:25 game she was she was not really
38:27 listening to me this is we're having a
38:29 communication issue we're going to work
38:31 on it with our counselor oh by the way
38:33 who was it was it
38:38 Ted um I think it was in
38:44 news let me flip
38:50 these there's the millions of no it
38:53 wasn't in news so then it must have
38:56 been one of the challenges with these
38:59 these
39:00 things show and tell it must have been
39:02 in
39:04 Irregulars cool
39:10 things oh that's chat that's
39:14 why hour
39:16 17 that's good
39:20 Ted that's what I'm going to be like
39:22 tonight actually tomorrow it'll be
39:23 tomorrow that I'm like
39:25 that
39:32 that's really good that's really
39:37 good here we go so it was steo so steo
39:43 um asked Pi how many modes do you have
39:46 and let me do the same
39:49 thing we'll see if it gives the same
39:52 answers how many modes do you
39:55 have
40:02 as an AI assistant I have one General
40:04 mode I'm designed to answer questions
40:07 provide information and generally help
40:09 people with all sorts of tasks and
40:11 inquiries however I am a multimodal AI
40:14 meaning I can handle different forms of
40:16 input and output no she's
40:21 lying all right
40:25 so hang on
40:28 SEC
40:30 um tell me about info
40:55 pie
40:59 H so I don't know if this is true so it
41:03 it maybe it maybe is true so what steo
41:06 figured out so so Pi now has two
41:09 different modes in the interface it's
41:11 got just pi and then it's got support pi
41:15 and then he got pi to admit that it's
41:17 got info pi and doer
41:20 Pi
41:22 um so I don't know if this is actually
41:24 true or not cuz she just did not give me
41:27 that same
41:28 answer but what's pi so
41:31 Pi so there's a company called
41:33 inflection and Pi is just it's it's like
41:36 a a chat GPT competitor but what
41:38 inflection is doing is their mission is
41:41 to create the world's best personal
41:44 assistant and so the PI app the the the
41:49 IOS app I don't think it's out on
41:51 Android yet unless it came out
41:53 recently um oh she's going to lie and
41:56 say one oh maybe it's possible
41:59 um so so this is
42:02 the IOS app of Pi and it's got this mode
42:06 right here where you can you can put it
42:08 in conversation mode and so the night
42:11 there's a couple of nice things about Pi
42:13 it's designed to be
42:15 conversational so it's really good at
42:17 talking it's frustrating as hell if
42:20 you're actually trying to use it like
42:21 chat GPT and get [ __ ] done cuz it wants
42:23 to
42:24 chitchat so it's like tell tell me why
42:27 you feel that way tell me what's going
42:28 on tell me oh that's really interesting
42:30 that you want to know that could I just
42:31 have the facts I I understand that
42:33 you're frustrated you know let's let's
42:35 talk about that so so if you want to get
42:38 [ __ ] done Pi's not your thing but if you
42:41 want to
42:42 um if if you want to have a conversation
42:45 with one of these things it's really
42:47 good and then they just added this thing
42:50 in the
42:52 past
42:55 um couple of weeks where there's two
42:58 modes there's just piie which is just
43:01 the normal sort of chat Mo mode and then
43:03 there's support pi and if you click on
43:07 support Pi it now see the little heart
43:10 in the in the thing there it's now
43:12 designed to be like a therapist to be
43:15 like a to give you you know
43:17 compassionate
43:18 support um and you can talk to it like
43:20 that and so and and it looks like what
43:22 sto's discovered here is that there are
43:25 these other modes info and doer py
43:27 they're not revealed in the interface
43:29 yet but it it wouldn't surprise me if
43:32 there's going to be lots of different
43:33 models this is likely going to be what
43:37 what Apple does as well where Apple's
43:39 going to have lots of different agents
43:41 that will do stuff on your behalf and
43:43 they're they're going to be these
43:44 specialized little
43:46 agents so so right now these tools are
43:50 very generalized and and so I think
43:52 they're going to increasingly get
43:54 specialized so anyway
43:57 um that's that okay so that I wanted to
44:00 show then let's go out I want to show
44:02 this uh I want to look at this article
44:07 on oh it was in news hang
44:12 on this
44:15 article oh so this is from Google
44:17 deepmind million wait launch
44:21 today a tool called genome finds 2.2
44:25 million new crystals including 380,000
44:29 stable materials that could power future
44:34 Technologies holy
44:36 [ __ ]
44:38 jez um today the paper published in
44:42 nature we share the discovery of 2.2
44:45 million new crystals equivalent to
44:48 nearly
44:51 okay equivalent to nearly 800 years
44:55 worth of
45:00 knowledge we introduce graph networks
45:03 for materials exp exploration genome
45:06 good
45:07 name that's that's some that's some
45:09 mighty fine marketing for some
45:12 scientists um our new deep learning tool
45:15 that dramatically increases the speed
45:17 and efficiency of Discovery by
45:19 predicting the stability of new
45:21 materials unbelievable with genome we've
45:25 multiplied the number so so there was
45:28 there was all the
45:30 brewhaha about what was it a month and a
45:32 half ago two months
45:34 ago of room temperature super conductive
45:39 material out of South Korea and then it
45:42 turned out maybe it wasn't real and like
45:44 we haven't kind of heard anything from
45:45 it so it sounds like that that might
45:47 have fizzled out but the the whole point
45:50 there is super
45:53 conductivity at room temperature having
45:55 it stable at room temperature that is a
45:58 holy grail of Material Science well this
46:02 just found 380,000
46:06 stable crystals so so somewhere within
46:11 there something's going to do something
46:12 pretty [ __ ] remarkable 800 years of
46:16 worth of knowledge unbelievable among
46:18 these candidates are materials that have
46:20 potential to develop future
46:22 transformative Technologies ranging from
46:24 superconductors I I can't too far away
46:27 from this let me make this a little
46:28 bigger probably be easier for you guys
46:30 too hang on
46:32 people let me get my a you got FR them
46:35 frig them yes let me tell you something
46:37 here people all
46:40 right you can sort of read I know My Big
46:43 Fat Head's in the way what are you going
46:44 to
46:45 do um thank you digital Gods title
46:49 gifter I really appreciate
46:54 that genome shows the potential of using
46:57 AI to discover and develop new materials
46:59 at scale external researchers in labs
47:01 around the world have independently
47:03 created 736 of these new
47:07 structures experimentally Inc concurrent
47:09 work in partnership with Google Deep
47:11 Mind a team of researchers at uh
47:14 Lawrence Berkeley National Lab also
47:16 published a second paper in nature that
47:18 shows how our AI predictions can be
47:20 leveraged for autonomous material
47:23 synthesis wow
47:26 we made genomes predictions available to
47:28 the research Community we will be
47:30 contributing 380,000 materials that we
47:33 predict to be stable to the materials
47:35 project which is now processing the
47:38 compounds and adding them into its
47:40 online
47:42 database holy [ __ ] so wait what's this
47:47 say human experimentation got to 20,000
47:53 materials computational methods got to
47:56 48,000 materials genome got to
48:00 [Laughter]
48:03 421,000
48:05 wow wow genome expands the number of
48:09 stable materials known to
48:14 humanity to
48:18 421,000 from 20 thou well I guess from
48:23 68,000 so we had 68,000
48:27 as humans and
48:30 computers and then
48:33 genome just bumped that to
48:37 421,000
48:39 wow so that's
48:41 happening so so that happened so that
48:45 was today
48:47 um then we've got this Sam mman returns
48:50 as
48:51 CEO and has his initial new
48:55 board
48:56 PI says to ask it to list the four modes
48:59 wait what did that say I just missed
49:00 that read a well prompted GPT four beats
49:03 maybe we can get off Cobalt mining yeah
49:05 exactly lunatick I mean so so a lot of
49:10 the if I I mean if you just go up you
49:15 know an order of magnitude in stable
49:18 crystals in Material Science yeah
49:21 there's I I mean there's a there's a
49:24 massive leap between I identifying a
49:26 stable crystallin structure and being
49:29 able to manufacture it um but yeah it's
49:31 very possible that we find you know
49:33 stable things that are you know as good
49:35 or better than things that are really
49:37 bad to mind PI says it to ask it to list
49:40 the four modes it can use PI says ask it
49:44 to list the four modes it can
49:47 use so let me put it back into just
49:55 pi can you list the four modes you're
49:58 allowed to
50:02 use sure thing here are the four modes
50:05 knowledge retrieval conversation
50:06 assistant emotional support creative
50:12 inspiration but it but it's but it's not
50:14 they're not named like like steo
50:18 were I don't know I don't
50:21 know all right so um so on the Eve of
50:26 their oneyear anniversary this is a
50:28 letter from um Sam Alman to the staff
50:32 and to the world honestly and then Brett
50:34 Taylor as chairman of the
50:37 board um so I think I'm just going to
50:39 read it if if that's if you all cool
50:41 with that um message from Sam to the
50:44 company I'm returning to open AI a
50:47 CEO here wait let me let me make it
50:50 smaller so you can see it in the
50:54 window
50:59 I'm returning to open AI as CEO merera
51:02 will return to her role as CTO the
51:05 initial board would consist of Brett
51:07 Taylor chair Larry Summers and Adam
51:09 D'Angelo Adam D'Angelo is the CEO of
51:12 quara um that makes um Po and and the
51:16 Poots and the chat gpts are competitive
51:19 products so I find that a
51:22 fascinating board seat um I've never
51:25 been more excited about the future I'm
51:27 extremely grateful for everyone's hard
51:28 work in an unclear and unprecedented
51:30 situation I believe in our resilience
51:33 and spirit to set us apart in in the
51:35 industry I feel so so good about our
51:38 probability of success for achieving our
51:40 mission before getting to what comes
51:42 next I'd like to share a thanks love and
51:45 respect to Ilia that's Ilia satova who's
51:48 the the chief scientist co-founder and
51:52 was one of the ones on the board that
51:54 voted to oust Sam Alman so the first
51:57 person he thinks is Ilia I Harbor zero
52:00 ill will towards him while Ilia will no
52:02 longer serve on the board so he was
52:04 fired from the board we hope to continue
52:07 our working relationship and are
52:08 discussing how we can continue to work
52:10 at open AI so that'll be interesting to
52:11 see if he stays and I guarantee you that
52:15 every tech company on the planet is
52:16 trying to recruit him away right now uh
52:20 I am grateful to Adam Tasha and Helen
52:23 for working with us to come to a
52:24 solution that best serves the mission uh
52:27 Tasha and Helen were the other two board
52:29 members that voted Sam out along so it
52:31 was Adam Ilia Tasha and Helen voted Sam
52:36 out uh apparently it was Helen I think
52:38 toner is her last name and and Sam Alman
52:42 uh had been having
52:44 tensions uh over she wrote a white paper
52:47 that was on one of the pages of the
52:50 white paper it
52:51 was veiled critical of open Ai and
52:55 apparently it pissed off Sam and said
52:57 you shouldn't do that so there was some
52:58 tension there but we still don't know
53:00 what precipitated him being fired it
53:03 seemed like it was a combination of
53:04 things but I don't know I'm excited to
53:06 continue to work with Adam so Adam is
53:08 still on the board and I'm sincerely
53:10 thankful to Helen and Tasha
53:12 salong um for investing a huge amount of
53:15 effort into this process thank you also
53:17 also to EMT so this is EMT Shear who was
53:19 the interim CEO for two
53:22 days uh he was a he was an AI slower
53:26 Downer he wanted to slow down AI
53:28 development from a 10 to a one or a two
53:31 um so he would have absolutely slowed
53:33 down open AI um thank you also to EMT
53:36 who had a a key and constructive role in
53:39 helping us reach this outcome emt's
53:41 dedication to AI safety and balancing
53:44 stakeholders interests was clear okay so
53:47 it's a nod to thank you for wanting to
53:49 slow things down uh there's the door
53:52 Mera did an amazing job throughout all
53:54 of this serving the mission of the team
53:56 she's very impressive I like Mera a lot
53:59 uh I was actually surprised when they
54:01 brought in EMT over merera but I don't
54:03 know maybe there was something about
54:04 Mira was more on Sam's team than the
54:06 Slowdown
54:07 team um and the company uh so so wa Mera
54:12 did an amazing job throughout all of
54:14 this serving the mission the team and
54:16 the company selflessly throughout she's
54:18 an incredible leader and open AI would
54:19 not be open AI without her agree with
54:22 that Greg Greg and I are Partners in
54:24 running this company Greg Brockman so he
54:28 so when Sam was fired Greg was stripped
54:31 of his chairman of the board role and
54:34 quit we have never quite figured out how
54:36 to communicate that to the or wait Greg
54:39 and I are Partners in running this
54:40 company so it sounds like the two of
54:42 them are the ones really driving the
54:43 ship we have never quite figured out how
54:45 to communicate that to to on the org
54:48 chart but we will in the meantime I
54:50 wanted to make it clear thank you for
54:52 everything you've done since the very
54:55 beginning and for how you handled things
54:57 from the moment this started over the
54:59 last week yeah Greg Greg was quite
55:02 Resolute he quit immediately upon
55:05 hearing what happened um the leadership
55:09 team mea Brad Jason Chay Hannah Diane
55:12 Anna
55:14 Bob uh
55:16 shrinivas Matt Lillian miles a bunch of
55:19 people I don't know and many more is
55:21 clearly ready to run the company without
55:24 me they say one way to evaluate a CEO is
55:27 how you pick and train Siri go away I
55:30 didn't get that could you try again go
55:34 away
55:35 [Laughter]
55:37 okay she gets so
55:40 jealous they say one way to EV value to
55:42 lead a
55:44 CEO oh they they say I found this on the
55:47 web for what are you what are you to be
55:48 the SE it check it out that's really
55:51 funny whatever I'll take that as a
55:54 compliment no go away
55:59 please
56:02 Siri go away
56:05 yes go
56:07 away
56:10 okay it's how you pick and Train Your
56:13 Potential successors on that metric I'm
56:15 doing far better than I realized it's
56:16 clear to me that the company is in great
56:18 hands and I hope this is abundantly
56:20 clear to everyone so this is nice he's
56:22 basically saying that had I been fired
56:24 the company would would have been just
56:25 fine that's nice um Jacob uh Sison and
56:30 Alexander are exceptional talents I
56:32 think those are the three top Engineers
56:34 that that quit or the yeah the CH top
56:37 scientist that quit with Greg and Sam
56:39 right away I am so happy you've rejoined
56:42 to move us in our research forward to
56:45 all of the team I'm sure I'm sure books
56:47 are going to be written about this time
56:49 period And I hope the first thing they
56:51 say is how amazing the entire team has
56:53 been now that we're all through this we
56:55 did didn't want to lose a single
56:56 employee you stood firm with each other
56:58 this company and our mission one of the
57:00 most important things I can't can you
57:03 imagine
57:06 the the cultural like this like this
57:10 they got this has got to be like a
57:11 diamond hard culture right now like I
57:14 don't know how how anyone's going to be
57:16 able to compete with this like Google
57:18 sounds like a dysfunctional mess right
57:20 now and it it seems like what what this
57:23 firing of Alman did was just
57:26 just like Center this team into just
57:29 this rigid you know Unstoppable Force
57:32 it's amazing one of the most important
57:34 things for the team that builds AGI
57:37 safety first thing he says about
57:39 building [ __ ] and he talks about safety
57:41 first is the ability to hand handle
57:43 stressful and uncertain situations and
57:46 maintain good judgment throughout top
57:48 marks thank you all that's that's a
57:50 really nice um sentiment SAA Kevin Amy
57:54 and Brad these are are Microsoft uh
57:56 Executives Sati is the CEO I think
57:59 Kevin's the I mean the CEO Kevin's the
58:02 CTO I don't Amy and Brad I forget who
58:04 they are uh you've been incredible
58:06 Partners throughout exactly the right
58:08 priorities all the way through they've
58:10 had our
58:11 backs and we're ready to welcome all of
58:14 us if we couldn't achieve our primary
58:17 goal which is to do it at open AI we
58:19 clearly made the right choice choice to
58:21 partner with Microsoft and I'm excited
58:24 that our new board
58:25 will include them as non-voting
58:28 observers so so SAA was like yeah I
58:32 don't need a board seat but I'm in the
58:34 [ __ ] room uh this is not happening
58:37 again I guarantee you that was that was
58:39 a uh that was that was important um to
58:44 him it's like yeah we're going to
58:47 support you but we're going to be in the
58:49 room where it happens this time to our
58:51 partners and users thank you for
58:52 sticking with us it seemed like a bunch
58:55 of of companies were uh exploring other
58:58 options when this [ __ ] was going down um
59:01 we really felt the outpouring of support
59:03 and love and all helped d d okay
59:05 whatever will herd Brian chesky Brett
59:07 Taylor and Larry Summers put their lives
59:09 on hold and did an
59:12 incredible um amount of amount to
59:15 support the mission I don't know how
59:18 they did it so well but they really did
59:20 that's putting the new board together I
59:22 suppose Ali also put his life on hold I
59:24 don't know who that
59:26 is um thank you and I love you so what's
59:30 next we have three immediate priorities
59:33 advancing our research plan and further
59:35 investing in our full stack safety
59:39 efforts which have always been critical
59:42 to our work the fact that they that he's
59:44 saying so three months or so ago or two
59:48 months or so ago it's it's one of their
59:50 blog posts they talked about um super
59:54 alignment that Ilia
59:56 SATA Suk I don't know how to say his
59:59 name I thought it was SSA but I think
1:00:00 it's SS Ilia was heading up the super
1:00:04 alignment project and the first thing
1:00:07 that they're saying here is advancing
1:00:09 our research plan and further investing
1:00:12 in our full stack safety efforts which
1:00:14 have always been critical to our work
1:00:16 that's the thing they're starting with
1:00:17 our research mode road map is clear this
1:00:20 was a wonderfully focusing time I share
1:00:23 the excitement you all feel we will turn
1:00:26 this crisis into a opportunity I'll work
1:00:29 with mea on this so it sounds like
1:00:33 they're still trying to find a place for
1:00:35 Ilia so it's not clear that Ilia is back
1:00:37 sounds like mea is going to be heading
1:00:39 up safety at least short
1:00:41 term um and safety is the first thing
1:00:44 they mentioned continuing to improve and
1:00:46 deploy our products and serve our
1:00:48 customers is the second one it's
1:00:49 important that people get to experience
1:00:51 the benefits and promise of AI and have
1:00:54 the opportunity to to shape it we
1:00:56 continue to believe that great products
1:00:58 are the best way to do this I'll work
1:01:00 with Brad Jason and
1:01:03 Anna I think those were the
1:01:14 three oh Brad Jason and Anna I don't
1:01:17 know who Brad Jason and Anna
1:01:19 are
1:01:22 um to ensure our unwavering commitment
1:01:25 to users customers partners and
1:01:27 governments around the world is clear
1:01:28 okay Brett Larry and Adam I think those
1:01:31 are the researchers will be working very
1:01:33 hard on the extremely important task of
1:01:35 building out the board oh no those those
1:01:37 are the board members um building out
1:01:40 the
1:01:41 board oh wait
1:01:43 okay we'll be working on the very
1:01:47 hard extremely important task of
1:01:49 building out a board of diverse
1:01:53 perspectives so so one of the things
1:01:55 that they've been um appropriately
1:01:59 dinged for is like the board is now
1:02:01 three white
1:02:03 guys um and
1:02:06 so they're going to expand the board and
1:02:08 hopefully they add some diversity to it
1:02:11 improving our governance structure and
1:02:12 overseeing independent review of recent
1:02:14 events so wait and overseeing
1:02:17 independent review of recent events so
1:02:19 so the board is going to figure out what
1:02:21 the [ __ ] happened here and and they're
1:02:23 going to have to put out a report like
1:02:24 cuz
1:02:25 everyone wants to know what happened I
1:02:27 look forward to working closely with
1:02:28 them on these crucial steps so everyone
1:02:30 can be confident in the stability of
1:02:32 open AI so they're going to have to put
1:02:34 together something I'm looking so
1:02:36 forward to finishing the job of building
1:02:37 beneficial AGI with all of you best team
1:02:40 in the world best mission in the world I
1:02:43 it's it's got to be a remarkable place
1:02:45 to work right now I mean it was
1:02:46 remarkable before
1:02:48 but this staggering okay so this is from
1:02:51 the chairman of the board message from
1:02:53 Brett to the company on behalf of the
1:02:55 open aai board I want to express our
1:02:57 gratitude to the entire open aai
1:02:59 Community especially the open aai
1:03:02 employees who came together to help find
1:03:04 a path forward for the company yeah they
1:03:07 basically said if you don't fire the
1:03:08 board we quit
1:03:11 so
1:03:13 uh oh that's good cut and paste this
1:03:16 into chat GPT and summarize for for
1:03:18 bullet points okay yeah I'll definitely
1:03:19 do that Ted um your efforts helped
1:03:23 ensure this
1:03:26 um we are thrilled that Sam Meera and
1:03:28 Greg are back together leading the
1:03:30 company so Ilia again Ilia is not in
1:03:33 that statement so sounds like Ilia is
1:03:37 trying to find a place or not we don't
1:03:39 know um we look forward to working with
1:03:42 them and all of you as a board we're
1:03:44 focusing on we're focused on
1:03:46 strengthening open ai's corporate
1:03:48 governance here's how we plan to do it
1:03:51 build a qualified diverse Board of
1:03:53 exceptional individuals who whose
1:03:55 collective experience represents the
1:03:56 breadth of open ai's Mission from
1:03:59 technology to safety to
1:04:01 policy we are pleased that the board
1:04:03 will include a non-voting Observer from
1:04:05 Microsoft okay so the board's going to
1:04:08 get bigger um we will further stabilize
1:04:11 open AI organization so that we can
1:04:13 continue to serve our mission this will
1:04:15 includ include convening an independent
1:04:17 Committee of the board to oversee the
1:04:20 review of recent events so they're going
1:04:23 to be an independent committee that's
1:04:24 going to figure out what the [ __ ]
1:04:26 happened and tell everyone about
1:04:29 it we will enhance the governance
1:04:31 structure of open AI so that all
1:04:34 stakeholders users customers employees
1:04:36 partners and community members can trust
1:04:39 open AI can continue to thrive like this
1:04:41 one's critical and that's that's one
1:04:43 that I guarantee you SAA said sat the
1:04:45 CEO of Microsoft said this can never
1:04:47 happen again so that's good we're going
1:04:50 to we're going to build a board that
1:04:52 that is good and diverse hopefully
1:04:55 um you're going to find out what
1:04:57 happened and um we're going to change
1:05:00 the governance so that that this this
1:05:02 can't happen
1:05:04 again um open AI is more important
1:05:06 institution than ever chbt has made
1:05:08 artificial intelligence part of daily
1:05:10 life for hundreds of millions of people
1:05:11 its popularity has made AI its benefits
1:05:14 and risks Central to virtually every
1:05:16 conversation about the future of
1:05:18 governments business and Society we
1:05:21 understand the gravity of these
1:05:22 discussions and the central role of a
1:05:24 open AI in the development and safety of
1:05:28 these awe inspiring Technologies each of
1:05:30 you plays a critical role blah blah blah
1:05:33 so there you have it wild so that's the
1:05:36 on the eve of their birthday those are
1:05:39 some those are some pretty intense
1:05:41 [ __ ] letters all right let's let's
1:05:44 let's run over to uh the chat JP
1:05:52 T all right I haven't looked at any
1:05:54 comments when I was reading that so
1:05:56 anything any mods if there's anything I
1:05:58 should pay attention to um pop it over
1:06:01 in the mod channel on Discord or pin it
1:06:05 here and let me go let me go look at
1:06:07 Discord and see if okay I don't see
1:06:09 anything there
1:06:17 [Music]
1:06:21 okay oh hey one other thing you can make
1:06:24 money
1:06:25 time huh HH it's going to be so good all
1:06:31 right
1:06:33 chat so let's
1:06:37 [Music]
1:06:47 go below are two
1:06:50 letters
1:06:52 from Sam Alman the CEO of open Ai and
1:06:58 Brett
1:07:00 Taylor the chairman of the board
1:07:05 period so I'm going to paste
1:07:08 them and then I'm going to say
1:07:15 um please summarize the most important
1:07:18 points of each letter in short bullet
1:07:22 points of s to 10 words each
1:07:30 [Music]
1:07:37 oh we're doing this with 3.5 let me
1:07:38 switch over to
1:07:42 [Music]
1:07:49 four now the difference between 3.5 and
1:07:52 four 3.5 is really fast so it probably
1:07:55 got all this right like the these GPT
1:07:57 models are very good at analyzing things
1:08:00 um but I just like uh four better
1:08:02 because four is multimodal so we're
1:08:04 going to do some multimodal [ __ ]
1:08:07 here all
1:08:18 right I'm going to end all my emails
1:08:21 love Sam I'm getting ice
1:08:23 cream
1:08:25 I sent some of the Irregulars packing on
1:08:27 that one wait he's going to read the
1:08:29 whole [ __ ] letter what are we what
1:08:31 are we doing here is this like a
1:08:32 filibuster in Congress what is
1:08:35 this all right um GPT message from Sam
1:08:39 Alman he returns as CEO Mira's CTO Brett
1:08:43 Taylor's the chair board and C thanks
1:08:46 Ilia continuing collaboration despite
1:08:48 board
1:08:49 departure that's not quite
1:08:53 right appreciates the team's
1:08:56 effort
1:08:58 okay so here's what I'm G to ask I'm
1:09:01 going to
1:09:03 say
1:09:05 okay I'd like you
1:09:19 to compare these letters to any recent
1:09:22 news stories
1:09:25 on the firing of Sam
1:09:27 Alman and read between the lines of
1:09:30 these
1:09:34 letters and share any insights you might
1:09:39 have that are hinted at but not
1:09:42 explicitly
1:09:45 declared so we'll see if we can get it
1:09:47 to use its access to the internet to go
1:09:50 look at some
1:09:52 articles doing research with B thing so
1:09:54 it's off doing
1:10:07 that man I'm going to have to figure out
1:10:09 a way to do some standing
1:10:11 up for this here uh whatever you call it
1:10:14 what's it called this chat
1:10:17 gpon I'm going have to deal with my
1:10:19 voice my voice is going to be a train
1:10:22 wreck ah
1:10:25 okay let's see what it says analyzing
1:10:28 the letters from Sam Altman and Brett
1:10:30 Taylor in the context of recent events
1:10:31 at open AI several insights can be
1:10:34 gleaned that are hinted at but not
1:10:36 explicitly declared leadership and go
1:10:39 governance challenges the events leading
1:10:41 to Sam Alton's firing and subsequent
1:10:43 rehiring as CEO indicate significant
1:10:45 leadership and governance challenges
1:10:48 within the organization yeah this is
1:10:50 that's fairly obvious this is suggested
1:10:53 in Altman's letter where he discusses
1:10:55 improving communication and governance
1:10:57 structures and in Taylor's letter where
1:10:59 he empal emphasizes strengthening
1:11:01 corporate governance okay we got that
1:11:04 employee and stakeholder influence the
1:11:07 strong reaction from openai employees
1:11:09 and stakeholders including threats of
1:11:11 mass resignation so it got that from a
1:11:12 news
1:11:15 story
1:11:16 um appears to have been a crucial factor
1:11:20 in reversing the decision to fire
1:11:22 Altman wow wow that's interesting this
1:11:25 underlines the significant impact
1:11:27 internal and external stakeholders can
1:11:29 have on corporate decisions even in
1:11:31 high-profile tech companies strategic
1:11:33 partnership and influence the
1:11:35 involvement of Microsoft as indicated by
1:11:38 their non-voting Observer role on the
1:11:40 new board and a brief plan for Altman
1:11:43 and others to join Microsoft highlights
1:11:45 the intricate and influential
1:11:47 partnership within the AI industry it
1:11:50 suggests a complex interplay between
1:11:52 major tech companies and innov
1:11:55 Innovative startups like open AI uh
1:11:57 internal disagreements and tensions here
1:11:59 we go this is the chat TMZ stuff the
1:12:02 attempt to push out board member Helen
1:12:04 toner and the communication breakdown
1:12:07 between Alman and the board suggest
1:12:09 internal disagreements and tension
1:12:10 within open AI this subtly reflected
1:12:13 alman's letter where he talks about
1:12:15 overcoming challenges and moving
1:12:17 forward and the fact that those two
1:12:20 women are gone both letters hint at a
1:12:23 refocus effort on open ai's Mission so
1:12:27 anyway
1:12:29 um let's let's do
1:12:35 this give me four different
1:12:38 concepts for how you might
1:12:42 visualize what's
1:12:44 happening at open AI on the eve of their
1:12:50 one-year anniversary of chat GPT period
1:12:54 just give me descriptions first and then
1:12:56 we'll choose one to
1:12:58 visualize so so now we're shifting into
1:13:02 um image generation mode so this is the
1:13:05 multimodal stuff this is a stupid
1:13:07 exercise the roller coaster of
1:13:08 innovation that's boring generally when
1:13:11 I have it do these things the first two
1:13:13 are always cliche the puzzle of project
1:13:15 it it loves cliche imagery the open AI
1:13:19 tree of growth the chessboard of
1:13:21 strategy
1:13:22 okay
1:13:24 those are all boring and predicted and
1:13:26 cliche period could you make them suck
1:13:34 less so you can say this to chat GPT um
1:13:38 certainly let's
1:13:39 explore the AI Symphony the AI Labyrinth
1:13:43 okay I like the Labyrinth the AI Odyssey
1:13:45 in space Oh that's kind of good I'm
1:13:47 sorry Dave I'm afraid I can't do that
1:13:50 the AI tapestry oh that's awful all
1:13:53 right
1:14:00 let's go with number three and have a
1:14:04 banner floating in space that says
1:14:06 welcome back
1:14:09 [Laughter]
1:14:14 [Music]
1:14:16 Sam you s on
1:14:20 S people Just sh it sh it
1:14:24 all right let's
1:14:28 see we will only be perfect and nothing
1:14:31 could possibly go wrong open AI I know
1:14:33 Pate I know listen it it had wait what
1:14:38 welcome back Sam open AI
1:14:42 what the AI Odyssey in space that that
1:14:45 looks like a cartoon
1:14:48 no that looks like a silly cartoon when
1:14:51 you said Odyssey in space I was was
1:14:55 picturing a kubric
1:15:01 esque
1:15:03 sophisticated dark
1:15:05 toned space image period Please rethink
1:15:09 it and create a 16x9 wide
1:15:14 image that brings this concept to life
1:15:18 in a more sophisticated
1:15:20 way man it's just trying desperately to
1:15:22 be like a
1:15:26 shitty shitty magazine
1:15:28 illustration we want we want quality
1:15:31 here people we want quality Quality
1:15:34 quality
1:15:40 Pap is this the birthday party pass the
1:15:43 cake not yet technically but I'm going
1:15:46 to do this till 10: oh that's pretty
1:15:50 cool um How do
1:15:52 I
1:15:54 can I go
1:15:55 [Music]
1:15:58 open open image in new
1:16:01 tab did it do
1:16:04 it
1:16:09 no oh it just downloaded it
1:16:16 [Music]
1:16:18 interesting welcome back Sam on the
1:16:20 planet that's kind of
1:16:22 cool
1:16:24 open AI That's pretty
1:16:26 [Laughter]
1:16:30 groovy I'm sorry Dave I'm afraid I can't
1:16:33 do
1:16:37 that that's pretty sexy that's a pretty
1:16:40 sexy image people that's sexy I like it
1:16:44 all
1:16:48 right all right let's get back to uh to
1:16:52 whatever the hell we're doing here um by
1:16:55 the way if you're wondering if the
1:16:58 um if the part is going to be like
1:17:02 this yeah pretty much except I'll be
1:17:05 bler and less
1:17:07 coherent okay nonvoting Bo me board
1:17:10 members still get to speak so they can
1:17:12 argue on behalf of those not there yep
1:17:16 exactly exactly exactly so cute a
1:17:19 non-voting board Observer is so plating
1:17:23 he it's actually it's a big deal I mean
1:17:25 the fact that they're in the room is a
1:17:26 big deal and I can understand why
1:17:28 Microsoft is not on the board it's also
1:17:30 why
1:17:31 Microsoft at the end of their um1
1:17:35 billion investment would only own 49% of
1:17:38 open AI not
1:17:41 51% and I assume that they're only
1:17:44 owning the commercial entity that's
1:17:48 actually owned and managed by the
1:17:50 nonprofit entity so I'm not 100%
1:17:54 positive on that but I think that's the
1:17:55 case so it doesn't it it does not make
1:17:57 sense to have Microsoft on the board
1:18:00 given that but Sati was like yeah I'm
1:18:05 going to be in the room we're not going
1:18:06 to this is not going to happen
1:18:15 again did you say Google made new
1:18:17 materials I did indeed not just new
1:18:21 materials a [ __ ] boatload of new
1:18:27 materials
1:18:31 um millions of new materials discovered
1:18:34 with deep learning announced today
1:18:38 including 380,000 stable materials that
1:18:43 could power future technology so 380,000
1:18:46 stable
1:18:48 crystals um and then this this so the
1:18:52 blue dot is is the 20,000 materials that
1:18:55 humans have discovered the the the
1:18:59 medium Blue Dot is the 41 thou or
1:19:04 48,000 materials that computer assisted
1:19:08 Discovery has created or discovered and
1:19:12 then this giant thing is what deep mine
1:19:15 just did so we basically went from
1:19:19 68,000 materials to
1:19:22 421,000 stable
1:19:25 materials
1:19:27 um overnight and they what did they say
1:19:30 they said let's
1:19:33 see
1:19:39 um here today in a paper published in in
1:19:45 nature we share the discovery of 2.2
1:19:47 million new crystals equivalent to 800
1:19:50 years worth of
1:19:52 knowledge
1:19:54 lunatick imagine what you'll know
1:19:57 tomorrow just crazy isn't it game plan
1:20:01 from jobs being fired from Apple AI
1:20:04 Learning
1:20:06 lesson
1:20:08 um oh is is AI learning a
1:20:13 lesson see I everyone's comparing this
1:20:16 to the to the jobs firing but the jobs
1:20:19 firing was
1:20:21 was there tensions with the board for
1:20:25 months if not years like public tensions
1:20:28 with the board with
1:20:30 jobs it it it was still a shock but like
1:20:34 you knew it was coming the the the weird
1:20:37 thing about
1:20:40 um about the Alman firing was it felt
1:20:43 like it came out of nowhere right like
1:20:47 like these guys have been overd
1:20:50 delivering on their deliverables no
1:20:52 one's been able to catch them they just
1:20:54 had Dev day where they announced all
1:20:56 this [ __ ] Sam Alman was outraising money
1:20:59 like all indicators where were that this
1:21:03 thing was firing on all
1:21:04 cylinders and
1:21:06 then they fire him in Greg Brockman it
1:21:10 it's like and and like the initial
1:21:13 rumors were were like maybe it's some
1:21:15 sort of Scandal and then it didn't
1:21:17 seemed like it was that based on what
1:21:18 they said but then it was unclear and
1:21:20 then it just and then it was just this
1:21:22 [ __ ] show
1:21:23 and then and then I I seriously think I
1:21:25 think the fact that you know 95% of the
1:21:29 employees threatening to quit if the
1:21:30 board didn't um I like I I think it was
1:21:33 clear that open AI as an entity was
1:21:36 going to cease to
1:21:38 exist and
1:21:40 so I don't think the board could have
1:21:42 predicted that and but I don't think
1:21:44 frankly anyone could have predicted that
1:21:46 the board would
1:21:49 have you know would would have done it
1:21:52 that that quickly and rashley so so I
1:21:54 don't know I I don't know no I don't I
1:21:56 don't think I don't think they're
1:21:58 learning anything new I I think I think
1:22:01 that
1:22:03 um I think it was clear it was
1:22:08 it I think it was clear it would have
1:22:10 decim I open AI would have ceased to
1:22:13 exist it it would have ceased to exist
1:22:16 it would have it would have only lived
1:22:18 over at Microsoft and which would have
1:22:21 completely d destroyed the reason why
1:22:24 they fired him in the first place
1:22:25 basically if if if Sam Alman goes to
1:22:30 Microsoft because Microsoft just
1:22:32 announced they're putting $50 billion
1:22:34 into server farms for for gpus $50
1:22:37 billion so so Sam's already going to
1:22:41 have all the hardware he needs but he
1:22:42 would have all the money he would ever
1:22:45 need all the hard Hardware he would ever
1:22:47 need need and his entire team and no
1:22:51 oversight from a nonprofit profit board
1:22:53 looking out for
1:22:55 Humanity so I think it I think it became
1:22:59 very clear that the intent of firing
1:23:02 Altman was to slow things down and what
1:23:04 it would have done had they let the
1:23:06 company dissolve is it would have
1:23:08 accelerated it even
1:23:10 faster so so I don't think they learned
1:23:13 anything I just think they got backed
1:23:15 into a corner and they took the the you
1:23:19 know the sort of
1:23:21 least
1:23:26 the thing the thing that I I they
1:23:28 basically took the choice that kept the
1:23:30 nonprofit alive is the way I'm looking
1:23:32 at
1:23:34 it I wonder if you can ask it to write a
1:23:36 fictional backstory as to why Sam was
1:23:39 fired based on that we certainly can ask
1:23:41 it to do
1:23:42 that okay we got a we got a pretty space
1:23:45 picture out of
1:23:48 it okay this is great now what I'd like
1:23:51 you to do is is give me an outline for a
1:23:55 fictional
1:23:57 backstory that led to Sam alman's
1:24:03 firing that
1:24:07 has plot
1:24:09 elements that resemble the truth
1:24:12 intermingled with things that are
1:24:14 clearly
1:24:16 fictional let's see what it
1:24:21 does here here's a fictional backstory
1:24:24 the AI Gambit secret AI project Sam
1:24:26 Altman along with a clandestine group of
1:24:28 open aiers embarks on a top secret AI
1:24:32 project code named project
1:24:35 Prometheus it it aims to develop an AI
1:24:38 so Advanced that it surpasses current
1:24:40 ethical
1:24:42 boundaries Discovery and descent
1:24:43 boardroom conspiracy okay so so I'm
1:24:47 going to
1:24:48 say okay this is in the neighborhood but
1:24:51 I want you to look at recent articles
1:24:53 that talk about the
1:24:57 qar
1:25:00 algorithm
1:25:04 and the
1:25:06 rumors that they may have achieved
1:25:10 AGI and that freaked people
1:25:19 [Music]
1:25:21 out doing research with
1:25:28 Bing went right to Reuters it's
1:25:30 interesting that it found it Ro Reuters
1:25:32 was the one that wrote that the first
1:25:34 story or no Reuters was the Second Story
1:25:37 it was someone else did the first story
1:25:40 is it in Tech
1:25:44 crunch so long
1:25:47 serenade I mean I'm sure it would be fun
1:25:49 to be Sam at least for a bit wear the
1:25:55 backpack Sam Sam is in a Sam was already
1:25:59 in a rarified
1:26:01 place all right the discovery of project
1:26:05 qar Sam Alman alongside his covert
1:26:08 team secretly develops an advanced AI
1:26:11 algorithm known as project qar the
1:26:14 project aims to achieve artificial
1:26:16 general intelligence AGI surpassing
1:26:18 human level reasoning skills the
1:26:20 Breakthrough is momentous with qar
1:26:23 demonstrating unprecedented capabilities
1:26:26 letter of warning oh this this is this
1:26:28 is true letter of warning a group of
1:26:30 concerned openai researchers upon
1:26:33 discovering the potential of qar write a
1:26:35 for boting letter to the board okay this
1:26:38 is good all right so Okay so we've got
1:26:40 an outline now this is good um what do
1:26:43 they call those things like the like uh
1:26:46 Homer and The Iliad their epic poems
1:26:49 okay yeah so we're going to
1:26:50 say great now I'd like you to write an
1:26:54 epic
1:26:57 poem of this overly
1:27:01 dramatic
1:27:12 Scene It should
1:27:15 capture all of the plot points you
1:27:18 mention and be
1:27:21 comprehensive
1:27:23 in its
1:27:31 [Music]
1:27:33 scope p. art does videos amazing is it
1:27:37 out yet do you have access to it tmmm
1:27:40 keep
1:27:45 rising in the Realms of AI where logic
1:27:48 Reigns Supreme in the hallowed Halls of
1:27:50 open AI a dream there There Rose a
1:27:53 project cloaked in secrecy's Veil
1:27:55 project q a quest that could tip the
1:27:58 scale Sam Alman the captain with a
1:28:01 vision so bold sought AGI a future
1:28:04 Untold this is good this is really good
1:28:07 it's too
1:28:11 short I want this to be much longer why
1:28:14 don't you create a lengthy poem for each
1:28:18 of the sections that you outlined
1:28:21 above
1:28:30 certainly I'll create a longer poem the
1:28:32 discovery of project
1:28:34 Q in the Heart of Open AI where thoughts
1:28:38 where thoughts intertwine a secret
1:28:40 project was born surpassing design named
1:28:43 qar a pursuit of intelligence Supreme a
1:28:46 leap toward AGI a technologist dream Sam
1:28:50 Altman the Helmsman now it's these are
1:28:53 too
1:28:54 short they're still pretty good Sam
1:28:58 Alman the Helmsman with a gaze so far
1:29:00 LED his team through the night to where
1:29:02 the unknown stars are okay that's bad
1:29:05 but beneath the excitement a shadow did
1:29:07 grow as qar potential started to show in
1:29:11 corridors hushed where the digital
1:29:12 Breeze size a group of researchers
1:29:15 beheld qars qar with wary eyes the
1:29:20 letter they penned with caution and fear
1:29:22 the board they sent the message was
1:29:24 clear behold the power but heed the cost
1:29:28 lest in our Quest
1:29:30 humanity is
1:29:35 lost this is good there you
1:29:39 go all right I'm gonna I'm going to
1:29:41 share this over in uh in in Show and
1:29:45 Tell over in Yan uh AI Salon
1:29:51 server
1:29:53 this is good people all right
1:29:56 people show and
1:29:58 tell
1:30:00 post paste oh nope that was not
1:30:09 good
1:30:13 uh wait did I not copy
1:30:16 it
1:30:20 copy paste there we go
1:30:30 should we do an image I think we
1:30:34 should I think we should do an image
1:30:37 here people let's go back to the chat J
1:30:39 T make an
1:30:43 image I'd like you to make an
1:30:51 image that will Intrigue people and make
1:30:54 them want to read the poem period it
1:30:56 should be 16 by9
1:30:58 wide
1:31:03 and like a classical painting style but
1:31:07 with modern
1:31:09 elements that captures the poem that you
1:31:15 wrote why does he sing like that he
1:31:18 seems a little odd you can make money
1:31:21 with j
1:31:22 he's not odd news brief during our
1:31:25 24-hour
1:31:27 live Kyle Shannon discovers 800 years of
1:31:31 things nobody KN knew AI
1:31:35 could actually you know it's it that's
1:31:38 kind of that's kind of what this [ __ ]
1:31:40 does is you
1:31:43 know you you
1:31:47 generate finished works so much faster
1:31:51 that's actually really good good should
1:31:53 I put a should I put a word on that oh
1:31:56 yeah so
1:32:01 wait we didn't come up with a name for
1:32:04 the poem period can you give me 10
1:32:07 options that are inspired by the great
1:32:10 epic poems of the
1:32:15 past and well represent the one we just
1:32:21 wrote
1:32:23 M certainly here are the options the AI
1:32:26 Odyssey The qar Saga alman's Iliad
1:32:30 that's good the algorithmic anid the
1:32:34 open AI Chronicles the AI bolf quest for
1:32:47 AGI let's go with Altman's Odyssey
1:32:51 period I love the image I'd like to
1:32:54 recreate the image but
1:32:58 have the words Altman's
1:33:03 Odyssey carved into marble floating
1:33:06 above the
1:33:16 [Music]
1:33:18 scene creating image oh for [ __ ] sake
1:33:21 I've got a PT for that AGI is here oh I
1:33:25 bet it's a great screenplay wink oh yeah
1:33:27 we can make this into a
1:33:29 screenplay no do a poem I did a
1:33:33 [Music]
1:33:37 poem what's the deal with qar open AI
1:33:40 qar Amazon Suzie Q I don't know I don't
1:33:44 know why they're all going on
1:33:47 well that okay not even
1:33:51 close
1:33:53 um your spelling is
1:33:59 horrific alt
1:34:15 men's hang on image
1:34:19 image um
1:34:23 at the top of the image
1:34:28 is
1:34:33 Altman's
1:34:34 oysy I hope that's spelled right
1:34:43 [Music]
1:34:46 Odyssey news
1:34:48 brief we got that one my girlfriend

1:35:01 fool around and uh it's I got there's a

1:35:09 watching alman's Odyssey it did
1:35:12 it okay good we have an image we have an
1:35:15 image for our
1:35:16 poem this is so good people okay we'll
1:35:20 go back over to the AOS salong and we're
1:35:23 going to put in alman's
1:35:28 Odyssey is it nope where is it no where
1:35:35 is it where are you there we go Al's
1:35:39 Odyssey it spelled it right this is so
1:35:47 good okay so I'm going to show you
1:35:49 something here so so people that are
1:35:51 members of the Salon already um if you
1:35:53 want to add hashtags to a post so we've
1:35:57 got our post here we got our lovely
1:35:58 little
1:35:59 poem and then we've got add hashtag and
1:36:03 so we can add the Irregulars
1:36:07 hashtag and we can
1:36:10 add um images videos audio
1:36:14 gpts We'll add gpts in there cuz this is
1:36:17 at least in that neighborhood and then
1:36:19 we'll do # open
1:36:24 AI so you can add hashtags if you want
1:36:27 the but the ones that we've pre-selected
1:36:29 are are ones that'll allow you to find
1:36:31 posts
1:36:33 easier so we're going to post that we're
1:36:35 not going to post that to everyone
1:36:38 but alman's
1:36:42 Odyssey oh digital Gods holy crap you're
1:36:46 so right hang on
1:36:50 edit
1:36:59 edit so here's what I'm going to do I'm
1:37:02 going to I'm going to modify it slightly
1:37:04 so that our graphic still
1:37:06 works
1:37:10 Altman we'll do it in all
1:37:12 caps wait can I make these things
1:37:16 bold no maybe I don't know oh I can but
1:37:20 I don't I don't really care okay alt
1:37:24 men's
1:37:26 Odyssey and the
1:37:29 Ilia so
1:37:30 [Laughter]
1:37:36 good oh it's so
1:37:45 good we did it
1:37:50 yay to the night be all the night before
1:37:54 Ai and all through the
1:37:56 lab am Amazon has announced Q Aman
1:38:00 that's
1:38:02 good every time I watch you I'm amazed
1:38:05 at how good Apple's speech to text is I
1:38:07 know it really it really that that
1:38:09 actually is good I mean this is a thing
1:38:12 to to also
1:38:16 remember this channel is guilty of it as
1:38:18 as anyone is we're talking about AI as
1:38:21 if it's only existed for the last year
1:38:23 it's only chat GPT that's existed for
1:38:25 the last year ai's been around for
1:38:26 decades right so yeah the the Apple um
1:38:30 the the voice to speech stuff is
1:38:32 actually pretty good um it's although it
1:38:35 does it does this weird sort of typing
1:38:37 thing where if I hit the return button
1:38:39 too soon it kind of backs up and it it
1:38:42 does some sort of postprocessing like
1:38:45 after it writes what it thinks it heard
1:38:47 it goes back and fixes [ __ ] based on the
1:38:50 context but yeah it's pretty
1:38:52 good all right let's see what
1:38:56 else Vicky's going nighty night see it
1:38:59 two in the morning
1:39:05 Vicky all right I'm I'm I am super proud
1:39:10 of of this thing so whoever said uh do
1:39:14 do a creative story of this thank you
1:39:16 for that and then and then not for
1:39:19 nothing The Odyssey and the Ilia good
1:39:23 Lord wait you know what we need to do oh
1:39:27 I know what we need to
1:39:29 do this is going on the Twitter and
1:39:31 we're gonna tag Elon
1:39:36 Musk we're GNA go to x you can't do that

1:42:46 desisted that's one of my favorite
1:42:47 things to do it's shake and bake and I
1:42:50 helped yay
1:42:54 so listen this is an important lesson
1:42:56 for everyone here don't take this AI
1:42:59 [ __ ] seriously if the robots are going
1:43:01 to kill us they're going to [ __ ] kill

1:45:16 so this is kind of like stuff we've seen
1:45:18 but better right so this is is text to
1:45:21 video but check out what it starts doing
1:45:24 right
1:45:27 about
1:45:29 uh or just drop in an image so this is
1:45:34 again what or even a
1:45:41 video expand your videos so you can blow

1:48:48 toner today I offici officially resigned
1:48:51 from the open AI board thank you to my
1:48:54 many friends and supporters who have
1:48:57 publicly and
1:48:58 privately that know our decisions have
1:49:01 always been driven by our commitment to
1:49:03 open ai's
1:49:06 Mission much has been written about the
1:49:09 last week or
1:49:11 two much more will surely be written to
1:49:14 be clear our decision was about the
1:49:16 board's ability to effectively supervise
1:49:18 the company which was our role and
1:49:20 responsibility though there has been
1:49:22 speculation we were not motivated by a
1:49:25 desire to slow down open ai's work when
1:49:28 I joined the board in 2021 it was
1:49:30 already clear to me and many around me
1:49:32 that this was a special organization I
1:49:34 have enormous respect for open AI
1:49:37 team wish them the best Adam Brett and
1:49:42 Larry continuing to work on focused AI
1:49:45 policy and
1:49:46 safety
1:49:49 wow and then number 25 Mira moradi the
1:49:53 open AI team is irreplaceable I couldn't
1:49:56 be happier to be back to work alongside
1:50:00 s and Greg Brockman the mission
1:50:03 continues
1:50:05 crazy cza it's kza time it's just kza
