64. 15:25Wednesday the meeting was cancelled you can make money apparently old Benny Netanyahu is going to be uh addressing a joint
65. 15:38session of Congress and and apparently they're shutting down the uh Congress and the Senate to the public so our event required access to
66. 15:50those buildings so possible I do a zoom call or something like that but that that event went went the way of the dodo bird
67. 16:01uh as of uh like 11:00 a.m. this morning I'm like proofreading stuff I'm sending fixes to documents we put together and
68. 16:09then they were just like and it's not happening so who' to thought I know right better you know now than after you
69. 16:18got to DC yeah exactly and also listen if if it's a kind of thing where they think Security's got to be tight enough
70. 16:23that they're going to shut down those buildings it probably was not going to be all that fun to be around DC anyway

77. 17:34we have now there are two very distinct eras of AI and and and very very distinct skill sets so if if you
78. 17:44want to be building Frontier models then you know it go get yourself a mathematics degree if you want to use chat

86. 19:43is ridiculously [ __ ] expensive I get I get 650 credits for $10 a month and my credits just rolled over today and so I had 630
87. 19:59credits and I made one video and now I'm down to 530 credits so that basically means I'm going to get six videos for
88. 20:09$10 which is [ __ ] stupid so I I'm Runway is on my [ __ ] list right now they they've got to get that price down that's that's just [ __ ]
89. 20:19Bonkers cuz it's not that much money for unlimited it's like 70 bucks for unlimited but you know $10 feels like it
90. 20:26should get you more than six [ __ ] videos um it depends what you want to do with it a lot there's like like the video
91. 20:35world is really complicated right now cuz all the tools are janky and so you can get good results if you combine
92. 20:42tools and if you do things like like um face swapping so you can get consistent characters and you do that after the
93. 20:49fact and it ends up being like video right now still ends up being Film Production so I I don't know dream machine couldn't extend a single
94. 21:005-second clip on the free option yeah I mean my problem with dream machine is the free version right now
95. 21:07you you're you can make I don't know I think five Clips a day but they take like three or 4 hours to to go through
96. 21:15the queue one one day I had one take eight hours to go through the queue so that's not viable um Leonardo's got some
97. 21:23video tools Korea's got some video tools Deco here's got some video tools there's a bunch of tools out there
98. 21:32I I would say right now play with everything and try to find something that's not ridiculously expensive um and just be
99. 21:50patient like don't expect any of the video tools to give you something that is not fundamentally disappointing back to back to janky

104. 22:48tracks so you have your stems for the drums and your stems for the percussion and your stems for the bass and your
105. 22:54stems for the guitars and V vocals and all that sort of [ __ ] and then people can take those stems like little Lego blocks and they can mix
106. 23:02them so it sounds like what's coming from yudo this week this should be an exciting week for udio creators and I

124. 26:04how does unconditional cash affect employment employment rates and work hours Rose substantially over the course

126. 26:20larger on average re recipients were two percentage points less likely to be employed than control participants
127. 26:29recipients worked on average of 1.3 hour fewer hours per week compared to control the wide variation across participants

208. 44:30called the latent space and the latent space is this big mathematical crazy thousand dimensional mathematical space that has all these
209. 44:42points that in the case of words are semantic groupings in the case of images are are sort of image groupings or
210. 44:50image like subject groupings I don't quite know how it works but when when you if you want to get inspired this idea of
211. 45:04being able to use random style references basically what it's doing is it's popping you into random points in this crazy ass visual
212. 45:15space um so we're just getting you know really crazy variations on a single theme that you know may or may not feel
213. 45:31like what you want to see but if you have no idea what you want to do this is a really good way to play and get your head
214. 45:40around some new ideas like I love that style love that style oh wow look at that very cool higher dimensional Vector groupings
215. 45:54exactly and and what s random does is just pops you around those different visual languages love
216. 46:11that so here we're back to this is this is that one that I that I explicitly told it to use that same style and so
217. 46:21those these at the top here are stylistically almost identical to these right cuz we use the same sref number so

331. 1:10:06questions magic trick have you ever used any automation tools yeah I used so who asked that that
332. 1:10:21was Michael Montoya um I've used zapier um make is a very similar tool um Bubble not so much bubble claims
333. 1:10:36to be a low code tool but it's it's a very it's bubble is more complicated if you want to create a standalone
334. 1:10:43application you can do it in bubble but it's more complicated zappier and make and there's uh probably another one or
335. 1:10:50two if if this then that I think is one that's in the neighborhood um when I first started getting into AI I
336. 1:10:58was doing a lot of automation a lot of it because the first place I went when I
337. 1:11:13saw how fast AI could do what it does the first place I went was oh I can make what we do now more efficient
338. 1:11:27and so I made a tool for my company using zapier that we still use that that writes prompts for video scripts
339. 1:11:36um I created some content generation machines um I created a number of different things with it and then it wasn't that I soured on
340. 1:11:52automations it's that I realized that what generative AI makes possible is so far beyond automating what we do
341. 1:12:07now or or making what we do now more efficient it's going to completely transform what we do and how we do it
342. 1:12:17and so where I've been trying to push this Channel and push myself is on the front edge of the wave right
343. 1:12:28because I I feel like automating what we do now is is kind of looking backwards and when you have a tool that can actually do coding for
344. 1:12:47you and when these tools get reasoning which I have a feeling that we're going to see something within the next month
345. 1:12:53or two from open AI that has reasoning in it um these are tools of a very very different nature than a fancy Microsoft Excel or a
346. 1:13:06fancy Microsoft Word or even a fancy Google search they they're fundamentally different they're generative the G and
347. 1:13:14GPT generative generate generating generating that's the stuff that I want to lean into that's a good idea Brandon yeah
348. 1:13:24I'll do that any recommendations on creating a GPT of someone that's dying soon um first of all I think that's a really beautiful
349. 1:13:35gesture um assuming that they're still you know conscious and engaged um I would so there's a couple of things you
350. 1:13:50can do the digital twins that I've made that we've made for Content Evolution and that we made for the the AI Futures book we actually
351. 1:14:02designed um a set of interview questions it's like you know 25 questions um wait brain works great is my grandma
352. 1:14:19oh cool who's in here oh that's amazing um so there's a couple of ways you could do it if if the person can still talk and
353. 1:14:31can you know still have a conversation I would say just record a bunch of conversations and if you put together a structured interview
354. 1:14:41like we we went to to chat GPT and we said if we wanted to create wait before she dies I want to create a GPT of my grandma Yeah so
355. 1:14:53um so I would go to GPT and I would say I want to create a GPT of my grandma assuming she can still talk create a set of
356. 1:15:06questions um that capture you know that ask her questions about her childhood and her favorite memories and all that
357. 1:15:14sort of stuff chat chat gbt can help you create a structured interview that's got different sections in it and I would
358. 1:15:22record them in video if you can do that if not you can get writings of her you could also do interviews of other people in the family about
359. 1:15:33her um but if you can at all capture her talking in in her voice and do it on video you won't use the video right now
360. 1:15:44but it's going to be valuable in the future cloner voice as well yeah exactly but but capture it now and then you can
361. 1:15:51take that transcript so how we made our digital twins is we recorded everyone answering these 25 questions we then transcribed
362. 1:16:01the the video and got a a transcript and then we use that transcript as the basis for a digital twin as soon as viable digital twin
363. 1:16:13technology comes along that can talk and move we'll take the video that we recorded and use that as the as the the
364. 1:16:22training video to create a talking version of those digital twins right now they're text only but they're remarkably
365. 1:16:29good like they're really good and if you design that set of prompting questions in the right way um and get her to
366. 1:16:38answer those questions you'll be able to capture a ton of stuff you could also take if she's got any writings um or journals or things like
367. 1:16:47that don't forget chat GPT has Vision so you could take pictures of handwritten journals and chat GPT can convert all that
368. 1:16:56Kyle serious question should she also record a consent statement for use for the future um if it's her grandmother and
369. 1:17:08it's like it depends on the usage I mean I suppose it would be a nice courtesy you know maybe a power of
370. 1:17:21attorney like I don't know if she is dying right now or if she if you just want to do it before she dies but yeah it's not a bad idea to get
371. 1:17:30someone's permission to do that I think we're listen we are all going to have to confront in the next some amount of
372. 1:17:38years people using our likeness whether we know about it or not um and so one of the things I'm trying to do right now is
373. 1:17:50get ahead of it and proactively do it for myself and the people that I work with um so that we can learn how to do
374. 1:17:56it and we can be good at this because I think we're going to all all have to we're going to there are going to be
375. 1:18:01skills in how to use your likeness chat TPT came up with a great structure when I recorded my mom when I thought she was
376. 1:18:09going to pass there you go perfect yeah chat GPT is really good at that you tell it what your goals are say here's what
377. 1:18:16I'm doing here's the project I'm doing write me a set of questions it'll be really good and then go through there
378. 1:18:21and just edit them like don't if you don't like them throw them out WR at other ones in you can't create a Hy
379. 1:18:27genen video of someone else yet for example no you can't um well you can if if you've got them there and they can record the consent you
380. 1:18:38can um but yeah in general they're trying to be safe about that which I understand um we did we did one for this
381. 1:18:47teacher for Monique's uh kids school and um we got rejected by hey Jen she recorded the consent but we got rejected
382. 1:18:56because they thought she was someone famous she wasn't but she looks like someone famous um I'm recording me
383. 1:19:04reading children's books for my grandson doing November oh that's awesome wonderful love that yeah and again you
384. 1:19:14know play around with these tools and play around with um making digital twins of yourself and you know Lori make a like do an 11 Labs
385. 1:19:29model of your voice and then you can you can send stories uh to your grandkid that'll be spoken by you um or you can
386. 1:19:38just send them written stories and they can use 11 laabs reader oh that was the other thing that came out today if
387. 1:19:43you're on Android um 11 Labs reader app came out for Android today as well can you talk more about how you use your
388. 1:19:51likeness to get ahead of the curb yeah
389. 1:20:07um so when we first started thinking about digital twins in for Content Evolution the original idea was we we've
390. 1:20:21got this Federation of different companies and different professionals and one of the one of the things that we've always wanted to do
391. 1:20:32within content Evolution was make it easy for someone to figure out who they should talk to if I'm if I'm facing this
392. 1:20:39problem in my business who within content Evolution would be good to talk to and our initial Instinct was um let's go scrape LinkedIn right
393. 1:20:53and in LinkedIn you've got their work history and so you could be able to say hey if I'm dealing with this kind of
394. 1:21:00problem and then we thought well maybe it should be a combination of LinkedIn and what they've written so CU some
395. 1:21:05people in content Evolution have written books and some people have you know have got you know lots of Publications
396. 1:21:13they've done and blogs they've done and [ __ ] like that and we just kept we kept sort of nipping around the heels of this this
397. 1:21:24thing about what do we use to represent the person like how do we get chat gbd to understand the person and what what struck me one day I
398. 1:21:35was talking to Kevin about this and what we wanted to do and how we wanted to use these things and what struck me was all of
399. 1:21:43that stuff that we were going to build these digital twins on was done in the past your LinkedIn is a historic record of [ __ ] you did
400. 1:21:59before um all the blog posts are things you were thinking about back then and and so we thought well how do we capture who a person is
401. 1:22:14right now and and then the minute we had that we were like oh wait a minute but there there's so much more to a
402. 1:22:22person than their work history or than what they've written so he said how can we capture who they are today and that's when we
403. 1:22:31came up with this idea of designing an interview um and then designing that interview like we were like well what
404. 1:22:42should be in it like what are the important elements to have in it and like one of the things was like well how
405. 1:22:48does the person solve problems um how do they think creatively how have they responded to diversity in their life um
406. 1:22:56who are people who have inspired them who do they look up to um what have they done professionally right what what have
407. 1:23:03they done personally that they're really proud of so we tried to create a set of questions that that was as broad a swath
408. 1:23:12of who that person is today as possible and we decided to just use that interview as the source none of the
409. 1:23:21other stuff just that interview and the reason we wanted to do that is we wanted the same interview to be used across all
410. 1:23:29the digital twins so that we could more accurately figure out if if those digital Twins were representative of the
411. 1:23:37person and they're surprisingly good they're really good because chat GPT knows lots of other stuff so you can ask
412. 1:23:45a digital twin things Way Beyond that interview and it'll answer them because it's got access to all of gpt's brain right
413. 1:23:55so that was sort of how we got there and then the minute we got there we we we started talking about well we're going to give these out to
414. 1:24:03we're going to publish these cuz like I'm thinking like old school publishing we're going to we're going to create
415. 1:24:12this piece of software that represents a person and we're going to publish it to the world and then people are going to
416. 1:24:17use that and what we very quickly realized is not only do people out in the world not know how to use a digital
417. 1:24:26twin we didn't know how to use a digital twin and so so I actually shifted the the the the goal for the for the collab this
418. 1:24:43AI group that I run within content Evolution the goal used to be to build [ __ ] you know let's let's figure out
419. 1:24:51what these new tools are you know we're going to talk about the tools and we're to go build [ __ ] and all of this year it's been
420. 1:24:58about us learning how to use the [ __ ] we built so I'm right in the middle of this idea of
421. 1:25:13proactively figuring out how to represent myself in the world and part of that is look and feel and part of
422. 1:25:20that is voice but most of it right now in terms of t tangible interactive stuff is just text and that's going to get
423. 1:25:29like that's going to evolve very very quickly but I think starting with text is a good thing so anyway Kyle is a
424. 1:25:37digital twin akin to a custom GPT but with specific reference sources yeah that's exactly what it is it is it so we
425. 1:25:45have a series of custom gpts we have one per person so we've got like 22 digital twins so if you go to chat
426. 1:26:00GPT and you say explore gpts let me see if if you type in
427. 1:26:15digital twin digital twin now type in C
428. 1:26:32profile yeah type in C profile and then you'll see a bunch of CE profiles there's Cindy [ __ ] Clark Haywood Mike Wing Joe gaml
429. 1:26:46Todd Hoskins Kyle Shannon there's my digital twin so you can go play with these digital twins right now
430. 1:26:57um and then we have a master GPT that's got all the digital twins within it and that one's really cool because for that
431. 1:27:05one we can say write an article and and grab a quote from three the three people that are most qualified to talk about
432. 1:27:13what this article is about and so right now we're just trying to figure out how do you what is the purpose of these and
433. 1:27:21like where is their value and why would someone use this and you know are we going to use this and is it of value to
434. 1:27:28someone else to use this and the answer right now is just a massive I don't [ __ ] know I don't have a clue how do you recommend
435. 1:27:38people get comfortable with letting our likenesses out in the world well so there's a there's a couple of things
436. 1:27:45about that Cam that I think are really interesting cuz I've been thinking about this very much like you know okay what's
437. 1:27:51the professional version of me like one of the lessons that I learned when I did my my C my content Evolution digital twin is it's it's
438. 1:28:03that's a very professional group and when I told people in here about it and they went and played with it they're
439. 1:28:10like it doesn't say embrace the Jank and it doesn't swear it's not it's not like you and I realized that oh there's
440. 1:28:17different versions of me right like like as humans we context shift and we shape shift um Vicky doesn't V Vicky was like
441. 1:28:26I don't who does that who shape shifts who who context switches a lot of people do um and so I think I think one of the
442. 1:28:35things that we're we as humans are going to confront is which version of us do we want out in the world in which Con in in a certain
443. 1:28:46context right if I'm trying to get a job that's going to be a different kind of digital twin out there than if I'm
444. 1:28:54trying to get a date right or if I'm trying to I don't know hang out with my friends right or you know do do
445. 1:29:01something like that like I might have different versions of me um in kicking around the idea of digital
446. 1:29:11twin management with Cindy [ __ ] and HT snow day I think it was HT came up with the idea he was like well wait a minute
447. 1:29:20not only should I be able to have different versions of me but I might I might want to have different fictitious
448. 1:29:26characters that represent me but no one knows it's me right so so cam katkin from Cleveland you might put out you
449. 1:29:35know a a a kitty cat that's got a really wild personality and you know it's you and you put it out in the world and you
450. 1:29:42let people interact with it but no one knows it's you but you're still managing that personality that that instance of
451. 1:29:51you in the world so I think that this is something that is going to be incredibly creative incredibly personal incredibly
452. 1:30:03expressive I think that talking about capturing people before they pass I mean you know talking about capturing your grandmother before she
453. 1:30:18passes maybe you do two or three different versions of her maybe there's the young version of her when she was in
454. 1:30:24her 20s you do questions just about her when she was a little girl and then you do other ones about her as as grandma
455. 1:30:32now looking back on her life and then you do I I I don't know like I could imagine there being all sorts of
456. 1:30:38different creative ways that we can choose to express ourselves and I think that's something that we're going to have to confront and deal
457. 1:30:46with um the whole purpose of this channel is well why don't we play with it now where it's relatively low risk and these tools
458. 1:30:57are as janky as they are and anything we build today is probably going to be op why not just play stop so I don't I don't have a real good
459. 1:31:14answer other than you know other than you know start playing make a GPT of yourself figure out who is the U you
460. 1:31:30would want to be in your first digital twin and go make it and I can show you how to do that at some point it's getting a little late
461. 1:31:41tonight to start one of those but maybe tomorrow we can do that cuz I'm not going to be in Washington DC so I will probably be
462. 1:31:48here uh Sam and open AI should really release digital twins yeah they should I mean it's a it's it's
463. 1:31:56a relatively straightforward thing to do on your own but it's not you know it's not super intuitive to do it I don't
464. 1:32:02think people are running around right now going huh wonder what I should do with my digital twin this has been this
465. 1:32:08has been sort of a year-long year and a half long Evolution for me you know just trying to solve a very specific problem in this one
466. 1:32:16organization and and then kind of realizing oh [ __ ] like this if if you do your digital twin right it can be really powerful and really
467. 1:32:26fun but what does that mean do it right do it right for who in which context all that sort of stuff so crazy times all

489. 1:35:49okay so if you're at chat GPT they just launched this thing called gp4 mini which is I don't know if this classifies as a
490. 1:36:05small language model you've heard of llms probably which is a large language model slms are all the new rage and slms
491. 1:36:13are smaller more concise models that are super um highly tuned to be good and GPT for o mini is one of those
492. 1:36:28um if you've got access to GPT for regular Omni um you might not need to use gp4 mini
493. 1:36:43but it's always good to experiment with it and understand what it is if you're using the API of of chat GPT gp4 Omni
494. 1:36:57mini is about half the price of or like 60% the price it's much cheaper than GPT 3.5 turbo which is what a lot of uh chat
495. 1:37:11GPT like applications that that use open ai's API were using GPT 3.5 turbo and this is cheaper than that and
496. 1:37:22significantly better than that that um it works just the same if you flip over to gp4 mini you can do things like you
497. 1:37:34know um hang on I got to sneeze do I yes um hang on gotta sneeze
