Description

Kyle Shannon dives deep into the ever-evolving world of artificial intelligence, showcasing a unique blend of humor, creativity, and community engagement. The discussion kicks off with Kyle's humorous self-deprecating remarks about his qualifications and teaching style, setting a light-hearted tone. However, as the conversation progresses, he steers the focus towards the importance of adopting a playful and curious mindset in the face of AI advancements. Kyle emphasizes that as AI tools become more integral to our daily lives, cultivating adaptability and bravery will be crucial for navigating this transformative landscape. He highlights that the future will favor those who are willing to experiment and embrace change, rather than solely relying on specific tools or technical knowledge. Kyle also introduces various AI applications and tools, including Mid Journey for image generation and new platforms for creating music, demonstrating the practical implications of generative AI. He encourages viewers to participate actively in the AI Salon community, fostering a culture of learning and sharing. The session culminates in a call to action, urging everyone to engage with AI not just as a technical challenge, but as a creative opportunity to redefine possibilities. For anyone interested in exploring the dynamic intersection of AI and creativity, this TikTok live is a must-watch. 5:22 [Music]
5:26 say to turn your Rangel

5:33 [Music]
5:40 way good evening good people of the Tik
5:43 Tock
5:44 listen the government hasn't shut this
5:47 [ __ ] down I figured we'd be out of here
5:49 by now I wouldn't have to put you
5:50 through this anymore the government
5:52 would just say China's being bad boys
5:55 we're going to take their app and we're
5:56 going not going to do it anymore
6:00 so I'm sorry I'm still
6:02 [Music]
6:06 here uh if you don't know my name is
6:08 Kyle Shannon this is the AI learning lab
6:10 you know what we do here we learn about
6:13 Ai and
6:18 Labs I'm exactly like a
6:21 [Music]
6:25 professor if that Professor had zero
6:28 qualifications
6:29 [Music]
6:41 and taught from a home
6:42 office on Tik
6:45 Tok so in that sense this
6:48 is as they say in the in the in the UK
6:52 this is your
6:55 uni what'd you do last night I went to
6:58 class I went to class
7:00 what did you learn I I don't know I
7:02 don't know it was
7:05 um the professor with the professor
7:07 that's not the right term the um the the
7:11 uh really hard to describe uh what role
7:14 he would play
7:21 um my son calls it a high school nice I
7:24 like it side hustle M I'm down
7:29 [Music]
7:37 yeah and do me a favor if you would
7:38 we've got a decent chunk amount chunk
7:40 amount of people we got a decent chunk
7:42 amount of people that's what just
7:44 happened in my brain those words came
7:47 together in a
7:49 sentence we'll be teaching the English
7:51 English is a second language
7:54 tonight uh but if you would share the
7:56 share the live there I see a lot of tapy
7:58 TAPS going on really appreciate that as
8:01 we know what we highly recommend here um
8:04 to save yourself from carpel
8:07 tunnel wake up the grandkids bring the
8:10 grandkids in and as the as the the
8:13 festivities go on tonight just have them
8:14 start Tapping For You just tap tap tap
8:17 tap tap for two hours straight no drinks
8:20 no Kool-Aid nope just tap
8:25 away grandpa I don't want to tap anymore
8:28 keep tapping Sally
8:31 so do that and then if you'd share the
8:33 live let Tik Tok know that that let Tik
8:36 Tok know that you pretend to to that
8:38 people should be seeing this
8:43 [Music]
9:07 hey you know what I've
9:09 noticed there's a part of me the
9:11 insecure part you know the faker part
9:13 the part that feels like impostor
9:15 syndrome all that you know that thing we
9:17 all have or 27% of us have that I got
9:21 two doses
9:23 of that dude in my head when I'm playing
9:27 my guitars and singing is is just first
9:29 of all just
9:30 non-stop judgment about oh that was a
9:32 sour note oh you can't play guitar what
9:34 you call that singing so that's that's
9:37 happening the entire time and
9:41 then when I think it's a he yeah it's a
9:44 he yeah it's He's a Bully yeah and then
9:47 when he um when he has some downtime
9:50 from putting down my musical abilities
9:53 he saying nobody why this is like the
9:56 worst opening to a Tik Tok ever and then
9:59 I started like noticing Tik Tock
10:04 lives and what the [ __ ] is with people I
10:07 I watch Tik Tock lives where the host is
10:10 literally doing this for like five
10:20 minutes they're not
10:22 interacting they're not saying words if
10:27 anyone's tappy tapping no
10:29 acknowledgement
10:30 the [ __ ] is with those
10:32 people bad singing is better than
10:37 [Music]
10:45 that in a Westerly
10:49 [Music]
10:51 Direction this car is my
10:57 train and yet continue to put yourself
10:59 out there let's celebrate that thank you
11:01 Source Camp I appreciate
11:04 [Music]
11:14 that you know it's funny like whatever
11:17 whatever the madness is that is this
11:21 channel it really it
11:24 really has become not about me anymore
11:27 it's become about this community and so
11:30 it's that takes a lot of the pressure
11:32 off it I used to get a lot of anxiety
11:34 when I would do these and I don't have
11:37 that anymore largely because it's like
11:39 I'm like oh they're saying about me this
11:41 is what I'm doing is just creating the
11:44 space for us to hang
11:47 out and so that's nice yall yall make
11:51 this a a pleasant thing to
11:55 do in wly Direction
12:00 [Music]
12:02 this car is my
12:06 train I've been driving I've been
12:11 wondering what it is I'm running from
12:17 again feel like an 80-year-old
12:21 [Music]
12:22 man holding down to
12:27 29 and uphead on that

12:48 Lo brief house couldn't
12:51 [Music]
12:53 have cute little front door and two
12:55 windows my
12:57 Lord ain't sure whether the cry should
13:02 laugh you see I broke a home up myself
13:07 once as I stumbl to that
13:12 door I read her note by the
13:15 dawn
13:18 life said don't you come around
13:22 [Music]
13:23 here
13:27 anymore well I've had enough
13:30 [Music]
13:32 this
13:35 Freedom never was good with
13:40 decisions least that's what I've been
13:43 told all right let's get this show and
13:45 Road shall
13:49 we that'd be Marty
13:51 ston the writer of that fine song Some
13:54 of the others were John hayatt
14:01 [Music]
14:10 [Music]
14:16 I didn't mean to cause you in a
14:20 [Music]
14:21 [Applause]
14:23 sorrow didn't mean cause you in a pain
14:27 [Music]
14:32 only one one time to see you
14:37 laughing only I want to see you laughing
14:40 in that purple
14:43 rain Purple Rain Purple
14:50 Rain Purple Rain Purple
14:53 [Music]
14:57 Rain purple r
15:02 R yeah Milo's wife bring them purple
15:05 hearty
15:06 Hearts I only want to see you laughing
15:09 in that purple
15:12 rain if you haven't heard the Martin
15:15 sexon version of Purple Rain which
15:17 that's the
15:20 arrangement good Lord is that man
15:24 talented if you ain't never seen him
15:26 live in person woo that voice
15:32 I did a uh s songwriting Workshop where
15:35 he came and gave us song writing tips
15:39 and sang for us we were in a small
15:41 little Coral
15:43 room and he was singing a song and he
15:45 was behind a microphone there was a
15:47 little PA system in the room and at some
15:50 point he realized there were like there
15:51 were like you know 20 people in front of
15:53 him and like five feet away and he
15:56 didn't really need the microphone so he
15:58 stepped in he stepped to the side of the
16:01 microphone and just sang to us and when
16:04 he hit the chorus of the song uh which
16:07 one was it
16:09 uh um wasn't Black Sheep it
16:13 was um might have
16:17 [Music]
16:24 been Freedom came my way that night
16:30 just like a jet plane in and out of
16:34 sight I was hauling ass a million miles
16:38 an hour wonder how hard i' here that
16:42 song and when he gets to the chorus
16:44 where he just belt it out I swear to God
16:47 it sounded like trumpets coming out of
16:50 his face it was like he sprouted four
16:53 Trumpets on each side of his cheeks and
16:55 it was just like I've never heard
16:58 anything like it in my life of a human
16:59 being it was
17:01 just this otherworldly sound it's like
17:05 there's something going on in his
17:07 sinuses that
17:08 just it was
17:16 amazing all right with mid Journey free
17:19 to all can we go over the prompts space
17:23 style refs whatever yeah I'm happy to
17:25 happy to jump into mid Journey mid
17:27 journey is actually it's actually really
17:29 good idea uh two block it was two block
17:31 Tom right yeah um really good idea to go
17:35 over mid Journey because yeah it's now
17:37 available on the web to
17:39 everyone I still consider mid Journey
17:41 the best although holy [ __ ] man lately
17:43 there are some really good models out
17:45 there um flux is all over the place
17:47 there was a new one that came out
17:49 there's a new one called Mystic coming
17:51 out that's on free pick which is tied to
17:54 magn like I there's so many image
17:57 generation models at this point I can't
17:59 can't keep up with them anymore it used
18:01 to be there were only three or four good
18:03 ones and a and a bunch of crappy ones
18:05 and that's just not the case anymore so
18:07 we'll do that
18:12 um oh I just I went to Mid Journey today
18:15 and the free trial was over yeah it's
18:17 funny my wife went to Mid journey and
18:19 they gave her three images they said
18:21 they were giving everyone 25 images she
18:23 got three that was pretty shitty
18:29 [Music]
18:32 [Applause]
18:37 [Music]
18:45 what's on the agenda tonight elang ma
18:49 um I don't know it's it's a Monday so
18:52 we've taken the weekend
18:54 off
18:57 um we we probably do a little bit of
19:00 Show and Tell uh I'm going to show some
19:03 gifts that were sent to me that was
19:04 really nice that that's pretty
19:07 [Music]
19:19 swell
19:22 [Music]
19:26 um I'm noticing there's a funny thing
19:28 happening on on
19:32 [Music]
19:34 Twitter
19:36 that feels like the beginning of a trend
19:40 and it's odd so I'll talk about that a
19:42 little bit remind me to talk about that
19:45 if I haven't all right so let's
19:49 see so one gift I knew I was getting but
19:52 it showed up today so I don't know if
19:55 Mel is on here
19:57 but U you ULU
20:01 RX so Mel in here all the time you know
20:04 when I talk about my tupe you may not
20:06 know this but I talk about my tupe it's
20:08 actually this is four tupes woven
20:11 together and
20:14 so and so Mel said hey if you if you
20:18 give me your address I will hook you up
20:20 so Mel ULU RX let me make sure I got
20:23 that right yeah ULU ULU
20:26 RX um is a company that sells skin care
20:31 and hair
20:32 growth stuff so see see this see see
20:38 where this is how smart I actually am
20:41 and then thanks to hair loss I look this
20:44 much smarter I'm
20:48 not I've just got like somewhere between
20:52 one and a half and three in of extra
20:55 Cranium
20:56 showing so
20:59 Mel sent me a little care package and in
21:02 the care package is very sweet is is a
21:04 cool satin pillowcase so that's just
21:07 swell which by the way um I heard from
21:11 uh I took a film making class once with
21:15 this guy that I thought was a total
21:17 douchebag but what he said is if you're
21:20 making a movie and you want the bedroom
21:23 scenes to look good you always use satin
21:26 pillow cases and sheets so that's kind
21:28 of cool so thank you for
21:30 that and then what else did I get I got
21:33 a hair scalp scalp
21:37 massager I guess I I'm
21:40 assuming you get it going right there in
21:42 the where there's lack of
21:45 hair you put your drops on there so I
21:48 got I got um a vial of minoxidil and
21:52 some other prescription drug that I will
21:55 start with tomorrow I've got to have my
21:57 hair my scalp clean and dry and then she
22:00 sent me ultimate
22:04 regrow she also sent I assume this is
22:07 for
22:08 Gabby but it might not be she sent a
22:12 lovely
22:14 hairband so as to cover up the the
22:22 uh
22:24 and
22:27 wristbands you know for when you're
22:29 massaging your
22:33 scalp lovely
22:35 huh and then I got a
22:38 lavender badass
22:41 granny lavender something I can't see it
22:44 though cuz my eyes don't work and then
22:47 she also
22:49 sent
22:52 um metho Max nmn and Astra Zin so I've
22:58 heard about people talking about M
23:02 nmn the here's my biggest problem with
23:05 nmn it's almost impossible not to say
23:08 mnn or n mnn
23:11 nnn you can't say it but apparently this
23:15 is going to turn
23:17 into mad in the
23:21 body and you know if you don't have
23:24 enough mad you can't wear headbands like
23:27 this and not look like a [ __ ] idiot
23:31 Ping P
23:35 P so thank you very much and then Mel's
23:38 note um thanks for all you do inspiring
23:42 us to learn and share that's very swell
23:44 thank you very much so that's so sweet
23:47 so thank you for this
23:50 um we're going to learn about this with
23:54 chat
23:55 GPT um and the other stuff actually I
23:58 wonder
24:00 I can figure all this out actually this
24:03 is kind of a fun thing you can do I
24:04 don't know if you if you knew this
24:07 but here I'll show
24:10 you now someone's coming in right now
24:12 and you're like good
24:14 Lord Rosie odonnell looks like
24:20 [ __ ] I I I resemble that remark um I
24:26 this is a I got a gift bag and I think
24:28 it's it's is it required when you get a
24:30 gift bag that whatever's in it you wear
24:31 thank God she didn't get me a manini you
24:34 know um
24:37 anyway I'm going to open
24:40 up the chat GPT app so I'm on my iPad
24:44 I'm going to open up the chat GPT
24:47 app and I'm going to allow it to use my
24:50 camera so there's my camera see you can
24:53 see up my nose I do that for you every
24:55 night but oh my God what did I just walk
24:57 into you're good it'll this will
25:00 normalize this will normalize
25:04 shortly okay so what I'm going to
25:07 do is okay I don't know if I can do this
25:10 with two hands uh or with with one hand
25:13 hey I'm not going to be able to have you
25:14 see it I don't think oh wait maybe here
25:17 okay all
25:19 right come on
25:22 Focus all right and
25:29 is that readable let me try one
25:32 other
25:40 back come
25:47 on okay
25:51 so took a picture of yan pill
25:56 bottle so this is her
25:59 ultimate ULU ultimate regrow so where I
26:03 now have a pink headband do I look
26:06 pretty um I'm and can I just say this is
26:12 warm I'm getting a little moist um and
26:15 these wristbands are very warm getting a
26:18 little so I'm getting a little hot and
26:20 bothered oh um so rather than having to
26:24 read all this and Google it
26:29 you can just upload it to your chat
26:33 GPT and
26:36 say
26:38 um
26:40 tell
26:42 me the
26:45 active
26:52 inred
26:54 here
26:56 and what
26:59 they do question mark
27:03 what is
27:05 this I am
27:09 ingesting ingesting is another word for
27:12 what did you stick in your pie hole
27:14 Fatso all
27:17 [Laughter]
27:22 right oh I is is this one of those
27:24 gender fluid channels he doesn't look
27:27 very fluid to me
27:31 that's a rather handsome
27:36 woman okay I'll take a look at the
27:38 supplement label you've provided here's
27:40 a breakdown vitamins a c D3 e B1 B2 B3
27:45 B6 folate B12 biotin supports healthy
27:51 hair skin nails and plays a role in

28:18 tasty chromium
28:21 Mali
28:23 malum as malum picate necessary for
28:27 processing proteins and a genetic
28:29 material oh processing genetic material
28:32 how do you process genetic material is
28:36 is there something
28:37 I'm hi Mom hi Jace good to see you
28:46 son the numbers are
28:51 plummeting all right proprietary Blends

29:05 these ingredients together support a
29:07 wide range of bodily
29:11 functions fantastic for energy prod
29:14 production immune Health to Bone
29:16 strength and skin Vitality however as
29:18 with any supplement it's wise to consult
29:21 a healthc care professional I have and
29:23 the healthc care professional sent me
29:25 this headband what could possibly go
29:27 wrong
29:30 all right so thank you Mel thank you Mel
29:34 for my um my hair growth journey I will
29:38 start on my um what's it called my hair
29:43 bomb and and my ultimate regrow tomorrow
29:46 oh and
29:47 then let's do the same thing with
29:51 this so this is the nmn thing nn mnnnn
30:06 I can't listen it's not like this is a
30:10 professional Production Studio even
30:12 though I've told you it
30:15 is why doesn't that focus
30:19 focus focus
30:29 I don't think that's readable maybe it
30:31 is let's
30:33 see we's see how good chat GPT is
30:37 what's this
30:45 one so Demir I am Demir aren't I so
30:50 demure oh look at the fuzzy I get fuzzy
30:52 Hearts all I needed to do get it was to
30:56 to get a fuzzy heart was wear little
30:58 fuzzy bow I would have worn the bow
31:00 sooner all right let's break down the
31:03 active ingredient nmn is a precursor to
31:05 NAD
31:06 plus
31:08 nicotinamide adenine
31:12 dinucleotide um a crucial molecule
31:15 involved in energy production and
31:17 cellular
31:18 metabolism it's like listen Fatso why
31:21 don't we burn off some of that [ __ ]
31:23 Twizzler you just
31:25 ate
31:26 um nn supplements are often taken to
31:29 support healthy aging that's good cuz
31:31 you know I'm 22 not looking good um
31:36 Boost energy levels and improve
31:37 mitochondrial function which is the
31:39 energy Powerhouse of the cells well I
31:40 need the energy Powerhouse my cells
31:42 boosted melatonin is a hormone that
31:45 regulates sleep wake Cycles nice and
31:48 then P pet pul
31:54 p pulse atila Pulsa
32:01 hi Jim would you like some more Pusa
32:03 with
32:06 that used in Homeopathy and herbal
32:09 medicine summary supplement appears to
32:11 be designed to support both cellular
32:13 energy and sleep nmn is aimed at
32:18 enhancing energy promoting healthy aging
32:20 while the melatonin and Pulsa likely
32:23 work together to improve s sleep reduce
32:25 stress or anxiety which is good cuz when
32:28 you wear something like this on National
32:30 Tik Tock ISM International Tik Tock
32:32 channels you're going to have some
32:34 anxiety Hello Kitty gu
32:40 version mama mama do I look pretty
32:45 what's that line from the Cherry Orchard
32:47 Cherry Geor Mama am I pretty you have
32:50 nice
32:53 hair and I can't even say that I'm a
32:56 little concerned about how this is
32:59 doing to Kyle okay thank you Mel for Yan
33:05 gifts now I'm hot and moist
33:10 oh I'll give these sweaty sweatbands to
33:13 my wife which is who I assume they were
33:16 intended for probably never never was
33:20 hoping you would see what I just did but
33:23 you know this is why you come to the AI
33:25 learning lab you never know what you're
33:26 going to get life is like box
33:29 chocolates woo all right that was fun
33:33 all right prettiest overrated
33:37 fact you're so pretty oh man all right
33:41 let me let me consume a
33:46 beverage isn't that uhoh what do I have
33:50 here I have an allergic reaction Mel Mel
33:54 it's going
33:56 bad yeah you got a pill to take care of
33:59 the
33:59 [Laughter]
34:05 Rat all
34:07 right let's see let me get the mod
34:10 Channel up in case any of the mods are
34:12 like uh Kyle people are complaining
34:14 about the
34:16 bow can I block my son
34:22 kidding oh man all right that's really
34:26 funny must had a zit there so something
34:29 that's where the little bow
34:31 was um very
34:33 pretty um okay so I got another box of
34:37 goodies it came in a
34:40 proton 3D filament
34:43 box there's your
34:46 hint
34:48 so I was told we have a pure genius
34:51 amongst us so obviously bought the wrong
34:54 card but not exactly theater de Opera
34:57 special
34:59 which is Jason Allen's art piece that
35:01 that won that art contest aoup couple
35:04 years back but it is 3D printed also not
35:07 Resto mod or 7s but you get the idea so
35:11 Vicky Baptist sent this is a 3D printed
35:16 let me see if you can if there's any way
35:18 that you can see how cool this is it is
35:21 like a
35:23 multi-layered like the the white part
35:25 here is the
35:26 highest and then like the dark part is
35:29 the lowest so like the base of it this
35:31 color
35:32 black and then all the other stuff is 3D
35:35 printed on top of it so it's this cool
35:37 3D textured it's like someone carved out
35:39 a piece of wood that has different
35:42 layers on it and as she said it's not
35:44 a70s Resto mod but it is I'm pretty sure
35:46 it's a 69 Camaro right so 69 Camaro
35:51 beautiful so that goes right up on Yan
35:53 shelf we don't want to cover up the uh
35:57 we'll get rid of what's her name
36:01 here we'll put it in front of my photo
36:07 book
36:09 nice wait can you see it oh yeah
36:12 beautiful all right so thank you Vicki
36:15 but wait there's
36:17 more so if you're a fan of the
36:20 show for you know longtime listener
36:23 first time caller oh she also said and
36:25 also a whole slew of fidgets they
36:28 continue to escape and hide
36:31 so last two weeks ago I was
36:34 fidgeting with what I call the s'mores
36:37 fidget to toy this one and somehow
36:42 dropped
36:43 it and it
36:45 flew to a mathematically impossible
36:48 place to
36:49 reach which things like this always do
36:53 um I dug it out of there today it was
36:55 covered in just it was not pretty it was
36:58 it was not pretty but anyway it's back
37:02 but Vicki outdid
37:05 herself
37:07 so this is that fidget
37:10 toy and then look at mama oh
37:15 yeah oh yeah the the the [ __ ] giant
37:19 fidget toy in
37:21 Halloween
37:24 stripies
37:26 ahuh and then
37:29 she
37:30 sent like this little blue one I don't
37:33 quite get these but they they all twirl
37:36 within themselves these right now cuz I
37:38 don't know how to hold them feel
37:39 frustrating to me but I I assume over
37:42 time oh wait yeah see over time you'll
37:45 sort of figure out how to play with them
37:46 right now I don't know how to play with
37:48 them and and that they they make me
37:55 concerned and then there's a
37:58 oh what's this one
38:00 do
38:02 oh
38:06 oh this
38:08 one no no this this one
38:13 is some some people are going to enjoy
38:16 that not
38:18 no oh no no
38:21 no lovely but no not for me
38:28 come here you palooka take that all
38:31 right then there's this one which is
38:34 lovely it's a little
38:38 dragon and then it's got also twirly
38:44 middle oh but this one doesn't spin
38:46 that's interesting oh and that doesn't
38:48 spin see this these are these are
38:51 perplexing to an add line I want it to
38:54 do different things and then there's
38:57 this one oh this one's really cool so
39:00 this is just a ball like an egg inside a
39:02 dragon see this one I like this one's
39:08 good you just do this for two hours okay
39:12 so
39:14 um when we're talking about machine
39:16 learning you're you're capturing a data
39:19 set which has been uh tagged and
39:22 verified and and you're putting it
39:24 through what's called an embedding
39:25 engine which which vectorize
39:28 the the data into vectors into thousand
39:31 dimensional mathematical space wouldn't
39:34 that be fun two hours of that oh that's
39:37 coming that's coming all right then we
39:40 got this
39:41 one oh this is
39:44 another oh but see this one I
39:46 like okay this
39:50 one
39:52 no for some reason no but this one
39:58 I I I don't know something nice about
40:00 that but again I don't
40:02 think see this one's too noisy to have
40:04 on the
40:05 channel but it there's something nice
40:08 about the little sprocket
40:10 holes lovely all right and
40:14 then well I don't even know how to do
40:16 this one how does this
40:19 work how's he supposed to roll wait
40:22 these are supposed to roll
40:26 right I'm
40:30 confused oh there it
40:36 goes I think I should have on the the
40:39 pink hat for this the pink head and but
40:43 wait but wait there's more you thought
40:47 I'm never going to get this time back in
40:48 my life no it's been worth it because
40:53 Vicki not only went out of her way to
40:56 print the 69
40:58 Camaro the multiple fidget Spinners
41:02 including the new Mega Halloween fidget
41:05 toy
41:06 and the Fantastic dragon
41:09 egg she created a fidget version of
41:13 [Laughter]
41:20 champy so so I now have just a a little
41:24 floppy flopp
41:27 3D printed
41:29 champy come on how cool is that look at
41:33 this cute little face cute little
41:36 eyes and his like little head does what
41:39 Champy's head does I can go up to him
41:41 and smack him like I
41:45 do that's a good boy that's a good
41:48 [Laughter]
41:52 boy so thank you
41:55 Vicki thank you m Vicky thank you you
41:57 Mel
41:59 um gifts are swell so I'm in a I'm in a
42:03 fantastic mood so thank you for all of
42:05 that and maybe we'll get some
42:07 improvement in the in the hairline we'll
42:10 see we'll see how this goes if I get
42:12 Little sprouty Sprouts I'll tell you
42:13 we're going up
42:16 close well you know what they say not to
42:18 do after you put on the the you know the
42:21 hair drops up here don't pick your nose
42:23 cuz you'll just you're going to get a
42:25 whole Bush of hair growing out of there
42:27 which I know you've all seen too much of
42:32 so oh man all
42:36 right so what are we going to do tonight
42:38 so here's where I'd like to
42:40 start I would like to start with
42:49 um there's a lot going on in the
42:53 world yeah we got to get rid of this one
42:55 cuz I will play with it and it's it's
42:58 bad it's gonna it's going to hurt your
43:01 ears it hurts my
43:03 brain let's see which one do I
43:06 want I think I want dragon
43:12 egg yeah these are really
43:16 cool it's so cool cuz her printer she's
43:19 got they're four color printers so they
43:21 can do all these multicolor prints which
43:23 is pretty pretty
43:26 fantastic what do you think
43:28 champy huh what do you think buddy yeah
43:32 you good boy oh you know what I didn't
43:33 show you oh did I yeah I showed you this
43:36 I showed you this
43:42 right
43:46 okay the Dragon Ball is one filament
43:49 yeah this is this is one of those
43:50 multicolor filaments but the other ones
43:51 are all multicolor like these and the
43:54 and the Camaro
43:57 very
43:59 cool
44:02 um 3D printing is really quite
44:08 something really
44:09 is it's so simple it's I don't know if
44:13 if it still mesmerizes you Vicki but
44:15 like watching watching a 3D printer if
44:18 you've never watched a 3D printer it's
44:20 just XY AIS stuff right you know just
44:24 drawing and then you're watching like
44:26 these servo Spin and it's pulling pulley
44:29 and wire it's like it's it's a very
44:32 primitive kind of thing the um the resin
44:35 printers are less primitive cuz those
44:37 are using light those are kind of those
44:39 are a bit more sexy but just watching a
44:42 computer you know Drive the print head
44:46 is is I find it endlessly
44:50 fascinating yeah very cool um okay so
44:54 here's here's here's what I want to talk
44:56 about
45:06 an important thing to understand with AI
45:10 these
45:11 days is that there are a lot of
45:14 different things you can do there are a
45:16 lot of different
45:17 tools
45:20 and you need to understand what the
45:22 tools are and how to use them to some
45:24 degree
45:27 I feel like we're in the middle of an
45:29 inflection point right
45:31 now where we're going to be in a very
45:33 different place 6 months from now I
45:35 don't think learning specific tools is
45:39 as critical as it was when we started
45:42 this
45:44 channel I think what's more
45:48 important
45:52 is your attitude
45:59 all of our attitudes and a a big part of
46:02 the attitude of this channel is like
46:04 [ __ ] it let's just go play with
46:08 it
46:11 and that attitude's actually really
46:13 important in in my opinion and and
46:15 becoming increasingly important and so
46:17 there's there's a
46:19 playfulness that I think is actually
46:21 important there's there's
46:23 a uh a sense of curiosity
46:29 there's there's a
46:32 drive to want
46:35 to figure it
46:37 out and that's evidenced in this channel
46:40 by the Irregulars so the people who show
46:42 up here night after night after
46:46 night if this is your first time here
46:48 your response must be wait a minute
46:50 people show up here night after night
46:52 the [ __ ] is wrong with them they're not
46:55 weird they're irregular
46:58 but they have a drive they have a
46:59 there's a something that they've tapped
47:02 into that I've tapped into which is holy
47:05 [ __ ] we need to pay attention to
47:07 this and there's a willingness
47:11 to experiment and try and refine and
47:15 build and get completely [ __ ]
47:17 overwhelmed and take a couple of weeks
47:19 off and then come back at it and just
47:22 that
47:22 drive there's an adaptability people
47:25 realizing oh
47:28 yeah I'm still a copywriter but now I'm
47:30 more like an editor than a copywriter so
47:32 I'm going to adapt how I do what I do
47:35 yeah I'm still a creative director I'm
47:37 still an art director but I'm going to
47:40 have to adapt how I do what I do so so
47:42 there's this there's all
47:45 these
47:46 components of
47:49 behavior that I think are going to be
47:52 required moving into the
47:54 future as as especially as AI tools get
47:57 more and more important so that's what
47:59 that's what where I'm going to shift the
48:01 focus of the conversation over the next
48:03 3 to 6 months is just how do we
48:09 explore those
48:13 abilities to be more flexible to be
48:16 more Innovative right because change is
48:20 hard change is
48:22 weird and especially with this AI stuff
48:26 like a lot of people in this channel
48:27 have spent a lot of time building
48:30 things that upon building them realized
48:33 well I probably won't use that anymore
48:34 but it's I've built it now I know what
48:36 that is other teachers are starting to
48:38 come to me to ask about AI oh that's
48:41 cool Alan Mr Studio dhj very cool send
48:45 them here send them to the AI salon so
48:48 that's what I wanted to talk to you
48:49 about so so one of the one of the things
48:51 that I want to focus on is who we're
48:53 being how we're
48:55 being one of the other attributes that I
48:59 think is
49:01 critical with AI is bravery so so you
49:04 know you've got Mr K in here who's a
49:06 teacher that teaches in a district that
49:09 upon them finding out that he was
49:11 teaching AI said not only can he not
49:14 teach AI he can't even mention it
49:17 anymore which pisses me off to no end
49:20 but he's still out there talking about
49:22 it um I hope he's doing Saturday classes
49:25 that are opt in non affiliated with the
49:29 school um Allan here teaches as well
49:35 and is doing all sorts of things and now
49:37 other teachers are reaching out to him
49:39 so you know we're going to start to see
49:41 as you as
49:44 you as you become brave enough to say
49:47 [ __ ] it I'm going to talk about what I'm
49:49 doing in
49:52 AI you're going to be you here I want to
49:55 I want to play a video for you
49:58 I want to show you what this channel is
50:00 full
50:18 [Music]
50:20 of running a species with 50,000 Lo
50:33 [Music]
50:34 [Applause]
50:38 see that [ __ ]
50:41 weirdo being an AI Optimist right now is
50:44 like being this
50:48 dude now who's
50:51 that that's another [ __ ]
50:54 weirdo like in this channel that' be a
50:57 's wife when I started doing these lives
50:59 she showed up here she's like oh you're
51:01 going to you're going to talk about AI
51:03 I'll hang
51:03 [Laughter]
51:10 [Music]
51:12 out they can't
51:14 dance everyone thinks they're [ __ ]
51:17 [Music]
51:19 weird so this is talking about AI right
51:22 now the rest of the world are the people
51:24 on the hill judging the [ __ ] out of them
51:27 look at those two [ __ ]
51:30 losers that's
51:34 embarrassing how did she get that video
51:36 of me I thought I burned that now here
51:40 comes a shapely fell
51:46 [Music]
51:59 now there's five now there's seven now
52:01 there's
52:02 eight now there's
52:04 [Applause]
52:07 15 I would argue that right
52:11 now the world of AI is probably those
52:14 five
52:15 weirdos so this
52:18 channel if you're
52:20 here if you're hanging out regularly if
52:23 you're part of the AI
52:25 Salon if you're putting yourself out in
52:27 the
52:28 world you probably felt like the skinny
52:31 dude to
52:33 start where everyone's judging you
52:35 everyone's like oh that [ __ ] weirdo
52:38 yeah Sally could you stop talking about
52:40 artificial intelligence uh we just want
52:43 to enjoy our jalapeno poppers please
52:45 thank you could I have another double
52:48 Margarita I'm getting Saucy
52:53 tonight and here's probably where we are
52:56 right now
53:01 and I think over the next three months
53:03 that's going to
53:06 happen and now
53:08 notice all the people here are not
53:10 ignoring them anymore all the people
53:12 here are starting to wonder uh
53:16 huh am I missing
53:18 something should I be paying attention
53:21 to that
53:24 [Applause]
53:27 [Music]
53:34 [Applause]
53:42 now notice what happening what's
53:44 happening these people are starting to
53:46 look like the [ __ ]
53:49 weirdos what the [ __ ] are you doing
53:51 sitting on the hill it's a music
53:52 festival get up and dance your [ __ ]
53:54 tools
53:55 [Laughter]
54:11 June Mary at least there's at least
54:12 there's five I have yet to get into the
54:14 salon I need a guild okay we'll get you
54:15 into the salon tonight that's that's
54:17 what I want to talk
54:21 about so this is where we're headed so
54:25 when people talk right now when you hear
54:29 you know um doomers and naysayers going
54:33 oh the AI hype
54:35 bubble no no the AI hype bubble we're
54:39 still like
54:42 [Applause]
54:45 this when you talk about AI that's what
54:48 people think of
54:50 you they think you're one of them but
54:53 those
54:54 people are going to start running
54:58 toward
54:59 you so this is
55:03 why I talk about generously leading I
55:06 talk about learning out loud that as
55:08 you're learning AI put yourself out
55:11 there put it on LinkedIn that you're
55:14 you're playing with AI and you tried
55:15 something well people are going to call
55:17 me I don't give a [ __ ] if you made some
55:19 AI art and you're proud of it share it
55:21 well I've got artist friends well you've
55:23 probably got artist friends that are
55:25 sneaking AI on the weekend
55:31 [Music]
55:33 and you know this thing
55:37 ends with a [ __ ] movement
55:41 [Music]
55:44 right so we're not even
55:49 close we're not even close to that but
55:57 hiring in the
55:59 future hiring in the
56:03 future you're going to hire from the
56:05 people that are
56:20 dancing especially right
56:23 now so let's say right now let's say
56:26 Kelly Camp who started an AI
56:30 agency she's starting to
56:34 get she's starting to get companies
56:37 asking her to do
56:40 work
56:41 and at some point she's going to get
56:44 enough work that she's not going to be
56:45 able to do it herself she's going to
56:46 need to hire other people do you think
56:49 she's going to hire any of these
56:51 people you know who these people are
56:53 these are people that are polishing up
56:55 their LinkedIn resume right
57:00 now I was trained in project management
57:02 and I've been a project manager for 22
57:04 years and uh if you're looking for a
57:06 project manager I like project manager
57:08 and that's these people nothing wrong
57:10 with being a project
57:13 manager but as AI gets more powerful and
57:17 more desirable and more and more
57:19 companies are trying to figure it out
57:21 they're going to say who are these
57:23 people that's Kelly I want to talk to
57:25 Kelly
57:27 and then if if Kelly's too busy and
57:29 can't do all that work who's she going
57:30 to hire she's going to hire one of those
57:32 four
57:33 idiots cuz at least they're on the
57:35 [ __ ]
57:36 Hill at least they're trying to figure
57:38 out how to dance right
57:42 so the [ __ ] does that have to do with
57:46 AI
57:49 that the week
57:53 after cat GPT launched Leah f and I
57:57 launched the
57:59 salon and the
58:01 salon is a community of AI enthusiasts
58:05 so if you go there that'll take you to
58:06 the
58:08 website and if you scroll down there's a
58:11 button that says join the community and
58:13 if
58:13 you jump over to the
58:18 community you'll see there's a little
58:22 six-step onboarding process and the
58:24 first one is just learn about the on
58:27 keyboard yes Silver Fox good call it's
58:31 like you've done this before I'm not
58:34 weird I'm an a regular all right that's
58:36 fine no need to get
58:41 defensive Lee and I are going to we're
58:44 going to replace this image with a video
58:45 a welcome video of she and I welcome
58:48 welcoming people in
58:51 but at the salon we play first joyfully
58:56 exploring generative AI gaining the
58:58 knowledge and inspiration pause right
59:01 there what do we
59:03 do play
59:06 first dance on the
59:10 hill it's funny I'm I'm working with
59:13 someone who's sponsoring the salon right
59:16 now
59:20 and his relationship with the word play
59:23 was he didn't understand it it's like
59:25 what are you talking about
59:27 this is this is deadly serious stuff
59:29 this is AI this it's going to change the
59:32 world yeah it is and it is so different
59:38 it is so foreign from how we do stuff
59:42 now that the only way I
59:44 know to learn it is to
59:48 play is to not try to replicate what you
59:51 know how to do today because generative
59:54 AI the G in GP T
59:59 generative means that computers using
1:00:02 this technology behave in a completely
1:00:04 different way than they ever have in the
1:00:06 past computers used to compute and
1:00:10 here's what I mean by that you would
1:00:12 give them some piece of data and they
1:00:15 would compute on it and then
1:00:18 some modified version of that data would
1:00:21 come out the other
1:00:23 side with generative AI you give it an
1:00:26 input and it's actually generating net
1:00:30 new content out of its training data so
1:00:34 all of this data has been jammed into
1:00:36 these things and we can just tap into it
1:00:40 like [ __ ]
1:00:42 magic and so the only way to really
1:00:45 understand what that even
1:00:47 means is to play with it with no
1:00:52 expectations so that's why we we say the
1:00:54 first step to AI literacy is play
1:00:57 joyfully exploring generative AI gaining
1:00:59 the knowledge and inspiration the other
1:01:01 thing that happens when you
1:01:03 play is that you have fun and you get
1:01:06 inspired and it allows your [ __ ]
1:01:08 imagination to open
1:01:11 up and then you learn enough doing that
1:01:14 that you can move to the next step which
1:01:15 is mindfully create surprising ourselves
1:01:18 and powerfully meeting challenges
1:01:20 unleashing us
1:01:21 to generously lead others enriching
1:01:26 lives redefining what's possible and
1:01:28 unlocking a new era of human achievement
1:01:31 so so this simple little
1:01:37 journey is what the salon is all
1:01:42 about and it's about doing it with those
1:01:45 people on the
1:01:49 hill
1:01:51 right and that's this is to me this is
1:01:54 what the salon feels like right now
1:01:57 there's there's 1,800 people in
1:02:00 there but most of those 18800 people are
1:02:03 sitting on the
1:02:05 hill or they they went to pee cuz they
1:02:08 had too much
1:02:09 beer they're not even on the
1:02:13 hill they're down checking their email
1:02:15 on their phone next to their Mercury
1:02:20 Cougar so the people that show up to
1:02:22 this channel are the weirdos on the hill
1:02:25 the people that are active in the AI
1:02:26 Salon are the weirdos on the hill so I
1:02:28 would encourage you
1:02:31 to join the AI Salon it doesn't cost
1:02:36 anything and and go through this
1:02:39 little welcome sequence the second step
1:02:42 in this welcome sequence is introduce
1:02:44 yourself so go in there and introduce
1:02:47 yourself upload a picture be creative
1:02:50 about it be generous about it then learn
1:02:53 our values is the third one we value
1:02:56 curiosity and playfulness and
1:03:05 empathy
1:03:07 um we're respectful inclusive and kind
1:03:11 this is a really kind group if if the
1:03:14 thought of introducing yourself to a
1:03:15 bunch of strangers turns your
1:03:17 stomach I completely understand it this
1:03:20 is a kind group of people and they
1:03:22 they're generous we value diverse
1:03:25 perspectives recog izing that our
1:03:27 differences make us stronger we accept
1:03:28 that people might be afraid and angry
1:03:31 and we work to understand them we
1:03:33 actively practice gratitude and
1:03:36 acknowledge the efforts and successes of
1:03:38 those around us humans matter this is a
1:03:41 group that when someone gets a job in
1:03:45 here they don't get jealous of them they
1:03:47 they [ __ ] applaud them holy [ __ ] you
1:03:49 got a job
1:03:51 awesome what' you do you wrote a song in
1:03:54 yudo and they hired you holy [ __ ] I'm
1:03:57 GNA try that it's amazing
1:04:02 bravery these are people that have the
1:04:04 guts to introduce themselves to a room
1:04:06 full of
1:04:08 strangers these are people willing to
1:04:11 learn a new
1:04:13 thing like chat GPT even though it is an
1:04:17 existential threat to their livelihood
1:04:19 as a copywriter for
1:04:22 example well [ __ ] it if it's GNA do it I
1:04:24 might as well learn how to do it might
1:04:26 as well put myself out of work and what
1:04:29 invariably ends up happening is those
1:04:31 people reinvent themselves and discover
1:04:33 a whole new passion for what they do but
1:04:37 that takes guts and then generosity is
1:04:38 the final value so learn our values um
1:04:42 then you can check out our past meetings
1:04:44 so we have speakers and we have these
1:04:45 things called meet and greets where
1:04:47 people introduce themselves you can see
1:04:49 the remarkable people in the
1:04:51 community then you can RSB VP for our
1:04:54 next events so we've got events on the
1:04:56 first Tuesday of the month and the third
1:04:58 Tuesday of the month the first Tuesday
1:05:01 we have speakers the SEC the third
1:05:03 Tuesday is the meet and greet so you can
1:05:06 go RSVP for those and then the final
1:05:07 little step here is join the water
1:05:10 cooler and it's the water coolers just
1:05:13 talk about whatever the [ __ ] you want to
1:05:14 talk about ask questions be an
1:05:17 idiot tell someone something fun you did
1:05:19 with AI I've been able to scale with AI
1:05:22 so that it earns a living from my hot
1:05:26 tub at home Relentless Aaron I love the
1:05:29 name Relentless Aaron Aaron's got Drive
1:05:33 Aaron's like oh here's a tool huh this
1:05:35 is probably going to [ __ ] up my
1:05:37 employment is one way to look at
1:05:40 it huh this is going to automate all the
1:05:42 tasks I get paid for
1:05:45 today and then what he said was no [ __ ]
1:05:47 that from my hot tub I'm going to take
1:05:49 these tools that are superpowers and let
1:05:51 them supercharge me and then the other
1:05:54 thing you should do is really check out
1:05:56 you know there's a community section
1:05:57 where we've got news and Shameless
1:05:59 self-promotions you can promote what
1:06:01 you're up to you can ask for help
1:06:03 there's a list of tools that I maintain
1:06:05 but I haven't updated in a long time cuz
1:06:07 I'm completely overwhelmed with all the
1:06:09 tools that are there but that's at least
1:06:11 a place to start there's a showand tell
1:06:14 section where you can show off images
1:06:17 and music and video and gpts and apps
1:06:19 that you've
1:06:20 built and then there's guilds and guilds
1:06:23 are collection of these spaces with
1:06:27 really inspiring leaders from the
1:06:28 community doing all sorts of cool [ __ ]
1:06:30 so there's creative Guild the business
1:06:32 Guild the tech Guild and the social
1:06:35 impact Guild and then there's clubs like
1:06:38 the AI life hacks club with Brandon and
1:06:40 CLA we on here tonight and then there's
1:06:44 the AI Irregulars Club that's our club
1:06:47 so we get to come in
1:06:54 here and get to to see the the mockery
1:06:57 that is made of
1:06:59 me lovely just
1:07:05 lovely that's what I felt like that's
1:07:08 what that's what I was trying to put off
1:07:10 there Claire those kind of
1:07:15 Vibes I think that's what it came across
1:07:18 more like who did that Lor that's
1:07:20 [ __ ] awesome
1:07:26 Hello Kitty the Kyle
1:07:30 version see you know if you can't laugh
1:07:33 at yourself start a Tik Tok Channel and
1:07:35 let the world laugh at
1:07:40 you what is that
1:07:45 Madness interesting use of AI and
1:07:47 advertising oh that's
1:07:52 funny use cheer oh that's funny that's
1:07:54 very cute
1:07:58 so that's the AI
1:08:00 salon and and you know I can't emphasize
1:08:06 enough how important being in that
1:08:09 Community is be the dancers on the
1:08:14 hill be the
1:08:20 weirdo you're like but I don't have a
1:08:22 degree in mathematics neither do I I
1:08:24 have a degree in acting
1:08:26 that's why I like dragon shaped fidget
1:08:32 Spinners
1:08:35 um
1:08:37 yeah refresh your regulars please oh boy
1:08:45 Danielle everyone yelling at the screen
1:08:48 for Kyle Shannon to cover the keyboard
1:08:50 wishing we had a shock collar
1:08:56 oh y' are
1:08:59 well I am digging the the dragon egg
1:09:03 digging the dragon
1:09:06 egg it's
1:09:09 simple see let me let me explain some a
1:09:12 theory of something
1:09:19 here there's two different kinds of
1:09:21 video game players
1:09:26 there's this
1:09:27 kind and there's this
1:09:30 kind and these kind are judgmental
1:09:36 Pricks these kind called these kind
1:09:40 trigger
1:09:43 twitchers so the kinds of video games I
1:09:47 like are things like driving games where
1:09:49 you've got like Fast slow left right
1:09:57 this is more like strategy games and
1:10:01 mmps and they take work and you got to
1:10:05 think not for me I don't mind it as a
1:10:09 fidget toy but that's not my video game
1:10:11 but the Judgment the smug attitude of
1:10:15 the [ __ ] brainiacs that can play this
1:10:18 kind of strategy
1:10:21 game like my son's insufferable
1:10:26 and I'm like but you can go Zoom fast
1:10:28 zoom zoom
1:10:30 good zoom zoom good crash
1:10:33 bad that's that's my kind of video game
1:10:37 so to all you judgmental
1:10:39 strategy [ __ ] people with your well
1:10:44 you just need to learn 17 commands per
1:10:47 character for the first level and
1:10:50 the you go mine the Gold and get
1:10:53 the no just going
1:10:59 fast I don't have time for that [ __ ]
1:11:02 you're
1:11:04 [ __ ] see now here's meltdown Monday
1:11:08 see what you did
1:11:11 Vicki by sending me two contrastic
1:11:13 fidget Spinners this is too much work
1:11:17 this is like a [ __ ] just those battle
1:11:20 games the Tower Defense just just stop
1:11:26 just give me
1:11:35 this yall
1:11:37 good is he ever going to talk about AI
1:11:40 there's a lot about fidget Spinners
1:11:41 tonight what was with the pink
1:11:45 bow I'm
1:11:48 exhausted if you can't pay attention to
1:11:51 the pin comments we're going to take
1:11:53 away your toys fine Brandon okay okay
1:11:55 I'll look at the pin comments now jez
1:11:58 all right
1:12:02 whatever okay pin a comment I'll look I
1:12:05 promise hey here's a fidgets
1:12:12 toy I think you could generate a few
1:12:16 terawatts of electricity with your
1:12:18 dragon spinner just need to put a just
1:12:21 need to put a generator on it this will
1:12:23 be good give me another rice cream V
1:12:26 [Laughter]
1:12:31 treat he's an actor oh
1:12:37 boy okay Food For Thought AI current
1:12:41 times versus 90s remember Auto summary
1:12:45 in Microsoft Word yeah um who is that uh
1:12:50 what's your name th th
1:12:53 w9k yeah I actually did a whole talk on
1:12:57 um comparing the early days of the
1:12:59 worldwide web with the early days of AI
1:13:03 um we're in a really interesting place
1:13:06 right now here here's the here's the big
1:13:08 parallel for for from where I come from
1:13:11 the big parallel is
1:13:15 that the internet had been around for
1:13:19 decades
1:13:21 decades and it was you know this
1:13:24 relatively specialized network of
1:13:26 computers that you know you would dial
1:13:28 up to or if you worked at a university
1:13:31 it would just be automatically connected
1:13:33 to your T1 trunk line or whatever the
1:13:35 [ __ ] they called it
1:13:39 and the internet was was mostly research
1:13:43 papers and dissertations and libraries
1:13:45 and FTP servers hosted by
1:13:49 libraries and then the worldwide web
1:13:51 came along and but you had to to use it
1:13:55 you had to be technical you had to know
1:13:58 how to dial into an FTP server and you
1:14:01 had to know the commands to use to
1:14:02 download files or upload
1:14:05 files and it was a geeky
1:14:08 place and then Tim burners Lee creates
1:14:11 the worldwide web and they create the
1:14:13 first web
1:14:14 browser and so starting in you know
1:14:17 early to
1:14:18 mid90s all of a
1:14:21 sudden to use the internet the only
1:14:24 skill you had to have
1:14:26 was like could you click a
1:14:34 mouse and if you wanted to make a page
1:14:38 that had hyperlinks on it you had to
1:14:40 learn this really simple markup language
1:14:43 called HTML and there were like six tags
1:14:46 and it was simple like even a buffoon
1:14:48 like me could figure it
1:14:51 out and so the worldwide web
1:14:55 made the power of this Decades of
1:14:58 Internet development accessible to the
1:15:01 rest of
1:15:02 us that's what chat GPT did November
1:15:05 30th
1:15:07 2022 ai's been around for decades AI is
1:15:10 in most of the software if you're using
1:15:13 SAS software right now there's AI in it
1:15:16 it's been in there
1:15:19 forever what
1:15:21 shifted what changed and what the salon
1:15:25 is really
1:15:27 about is what happens when you take
1:15:31 something as powerful as AI as machine
1:15:35 learning and rather than the requirement
1:15:40 being a math or engineering degree from
1:15:44 Stanford or MIT what if the requirement
1:15:46 is can you type words into a
1:15:50 box what kind of words any words you
1:15:53 want
1:15:55 make me a
1:15:58 turtle and it
1:16:00 does make me a poem about a turtle and
1:16:03 it does write me a game about a turtle
1:16:06 and it
1:16:13 does that fundamentally Alters
1:16:17 things I haven't been over here dancing
1:16:19 by Myself for three three years glad you
1:16:22 could join me I've been over here
1:16:23 dancing by Myself for three years that's
1:16:25 hilarious P yeah exactly
1:16:29 exactly so so more people are going to
1:16:31 start paying attention to this but this
1:16:33 is that's what's different about it Pate
1:16:36 has a PHD in mathematics and and the job
1:16:40 he does requires that but if you wanted
1:16:42 to really play in the AI game before
1:16:46 2022 it really helped if you knew how to
1:16:49 code it really helped if you knew what
1:16:51 servers were and what embeddings were
1:16:53 and what weights were and and what the
1:16:55 Vector the Laten space was and what
1:16:57 vectors were and how
1:16:59 to understand
1:17:02 tokens you don't have to do any of that
1:17:05 [ __ ]
1:17:06 now in
1:17:09 fact one of my favorite new parlor
1:17:11 tricks and this is probably one Kelly to
1:17:15 add to your list if you haven't already
1:17:18 because i' I've shown this in here A
1:17:20 bunch but I'm going to
1:17:25 I'm going to a site called Deco
1:17:30 here which is an image generation site
1:17:33 and a video generation
1:17:41 site and I'm going to go to the little
1:17:43 explore tab at the
1:17:46 top and we're just going to
1:17:51 watch so I haven't there's I have not
1:17:53 prompted right no
1:17:56 prompts we're just kind
1:17:59 of Ooo Saucy we're just
1:18:02 watching image
1:18:05 generation as passive
1:18:08 entertainment now at any point in
1:18:15 here let's
1:18:17 say that kind of character study that
1:18:19 kind of monster study is pretty
1:18:22 interesting I can actually take this
1:18:24 image
1:18:26 and I can do what's called create a
1:18:29 station I think I'm finally going to be
1:18:31 brave enough to list AI salon on my
1:18:35 government resume as affiliations Rachel
1:18:38 Sparkles that's first of all like yes
1:18:41 yes do that but that's also like really
1:18:43 humbling and awesome one of one of my
1:18:46 goals when we started the salon is I
1:18:48 want
1:18:50 people I want being part of the salon to
1:18:53 be a thing like people would say I'm a
1:18:55 part of the salon and other people go oh
1:18:58 you must be one of those people that
1:18:59 dances on the hill so so a I strongly
1:19:02 encourage you to do that but be I'm
1:19:04 really humbled by it because that's
1:19:06 that's the whole [ __ ]
1:19:08 idea is is to is to be part of a
1:19:11 community that you can say yeah I'm a
1:19:13 part of that group of people dancing on
1:19:14 the hill sh don't tell my wife I
1:19:17 subscribed to Deco here I'll be sleeping
1:19:19 in the shed if she finds out so okay so
1:19:22 I clicked on this image and and now I
1:19:24 can do this thing called called create a
1:19:25 station and what this is going to do I I
1:19:27 find this
1:19:29 staggering I just added a isolon to my
1:19:32 LinkedIn recently awesome lunar stick
1:19:34 that's
1:19:35 fantastic
1:19:40 beautiful by the way lunatick um Daisy
1:19:43 Thomas heads up the policy and Civic
1:19:47 engagement
1:19:48 Guild um in the salon so she's helping
1:19:52 the salon figure out what's stands what
1:19:56 what issues we want to take stands on
1:19:57 and helping us articulate them um so if
1:20:00 you're interested in policy and you know
1:20:04 educating um legislators so that they
1:20:08 do good legislation and not jerky
1:20:12 legislation um talk to Daisy um anyway
1:20:16 back to Deco
1:20:18 here if if your understanding of AI is
1:20:23 that you have to learn prompt
1:20:24 engineering ing which I I am not a fan
1:20:27 of the term prompt engineering because I
1:20:29 think it it it puts a an expectation on
1:20:34 non-engineers that they can't do this
1:20:37 but I'm here to show you with this
1:20:38 particular thing we just sat back and
1:20:41 watch some images I clicked on an image
1:20:43 I thought was kind of interesting and
1:20:44 now I can create a station out of that
1:20:46 think of it like a radio station what
1:20:48 it's going to do now is it's going to
1:20:50 generate
1:20:55 about an image a second maybe it's even
1:20:57 a little more than that about an image a
1:21:03 second
1:21:05 passively with no
1:21:07 prompting I can share this station with
1:21:10 you with anyone and you'll all see the
1:21:12 same images that I'm seeing and any one
1:21:14 of these images I can click on and I can
1:21:17 upscale that or I can turn that into a
1:21:19 movie or I can just sit back
1:21:25 and this is this is a generative AI
1:21:29 experience that is either completely
1:21:31 passive right it's
1:21:33 just exploring the latent space of of
1:21:38 image
1:21:40 generation as passive
1:21:43 entertainment or what site is this this
1:21:46 is called Deco
1:21:48 here deoh here. a
1:21:56 and you can also go in like I can go
1:21:58 into Deco here and I can create an
1:22:01 image from nothing from a prompt or I
1:22:03 can just roll and have it generate a
1:22:05 random prompt and then it's it'll just
1:22:09 very very quickly generate these I can
1:22:11 turn I don't I don't think I'm
1:22:12 subscribed right now so I can't turn
1:22:14 this into a station but if um if I
1:22:18 wanted to I could turn any image that I
1:22:20 create into a station as well and here
1:22:22 I'll just roll the dice there's a
1:22:25 squirrel in front of the Eiffel Tower
1:22:26 there's a astronaut
1:22:28 playing tennis this could looks like it
1:22:31 could be
1:22:32 cool so any one of these I can upscale I
1:22:35 can turn into
1:22:40 videos or I can come out here and just
1:22:47 explore like here's a this is a a
1:22:50 station that I made you can save these
1:22:52 stations as well and this is a station
1:22:55 that I made that I just love it's this
1:22:58 sort of
1:23:00 Steampunk Charles Darwin
1:23:04 illustration crazy ass steampunk fish
1:23:10 station look how gorgeous these things
1:23:14 are yep that's it that's it Silver Fox
1:23:17 that's the
1:23:20 one
1:23:22 remarkable right
1:23:36 remarkable so is this
1:23:38 serious or is this
1:23:41 play well the only way you discover [ __ ]
1:23:44 like this is by
1:23:46 playing If your manager at work says I
1:23:48 want you to use AI to make what we do
1:23:50 more efficient and what you do is
1:23:53 financial analysis
1:23:55 you're going to go look at
1:23:59 tools that make financial analysis more
1:24:03 efficient and you're going to miss out
1:24:06 on
1:24:08 discovering what AI actually makes
1:24:11 possible and and what it makes possible
1:24:14 in disciplines where you never thought
1:24:16 you'd have any interest or any
1:24:19 aptitude with something like this the
1:24:21 only aptitude you need is to know that
1:24:23 it's there
1:24:26 and to have some discernment to have
1:24:28 some taste to go that is [ __ ]
1:24:33 cool and maybe that image ends up on one
1:24:36 of the pages of your PowerPoint program
1:24:38 just to make it a little less boring and
1:24:41 make you stand out a little bit more
1:24:42 even though what you're showing people
1:24:45 is how much more efficient you made the
1:24:48 accounting right I contacted de here
1:24:51 about where they come from 100% their AI
1:24:54 not from
1:24:56 people's
1:25:00 prompts so yeah so they've trained their
1:25:02 own model here who knows what it's been
1:25:05 trained on
1:25:07 but I
1:25:12 mean and then you could also look at
1:25:15 this especially if you're in the in the
1:25:17 in the mindset of well computers should
1:25:20 just make us more
1:25:23 efficient well computers also entertain
1:25:26 us computers allow Taylor Swift to make
1:25:28 her music and do her
1:25:30 shows computers allow filmmakers to make
1:25:36 movies and so you know there's always a
1:25:39 Continuum but again these are generative
1:25:42 tools all these images that we're
1:25:44 looking at right here they've never
1:25:46 existed before in the history of the
1:25:48 world these are original images
1:25:51 generated out of the latent space
1:25:52 generated out of the training data
1:26:02 I mean
1:26:09 Bonkers look at
1:26:14 this I don't think I can upscale this
1:26:17 can I
1:26:19 no I can save it
1:26:29 um I'll leave that up there in that
1:26:31 little window cuz that's pretty [ __ ]
1:26:34 cool what are all those little bugs next
1:26:36 to his head I don't like
1:26:40 that they look like bed bugs I don't
1:26:43 like it one
1:26:45 bit maybe that's why he's losing his
1:26:47 hair them bugs are up there eating his
1:26:53 follicles ah
1:26:55 all
1:26:59 right
1:27:05 so I put out a video today about
1:27:10 curiosity and actually you know what I'm
1:27:12 going to give you all the same the same
1:27:15 time check you mentioned a few things
1:27:17 you want to oh check out that thread
1:27:18 yeah I'll check out that thread Brandon
1:27:20 how we doing okay that's good I'm going
1:27:23 to give you an assignment
1:27:25 for either later tonight or
1:27:32 tomorrow this community already has a
1:27:35 lot of the attributes that I think are
1:27:40 important one of them is getting in
1:27:41 community be with other people dancing
1:27:44 on the hill I can't believe it's taken
1:27:47 me that long to to use I that that video
1:27:50 of those people dancing that's something
1:27:51 I've talked about for years
1:27:55 on on Tech adoption and stuff like that
1:27:58 um but that really is what it feels like
1:28:00 right now we're we're really like the
1:28:02 four or five people dancing on the hill
1:28:04 with everyone judging us ah well that's
1:28:08 not very that's not very becoming you're
1:28:12 going to dance in shorts like that with
1:28:13 legs that
1:28:14 [Laughter]
1:28:16 white so there's a lot of that kind of
1:28:18 judgment going on right now
1:28:25 but I think it's a good reminder even if
1:28:28 you're good at this stuff so I put out a
1:28:32 video today about curiosity so curiosity
1:28:35 is one of these
1:28:36 components
1:28:41 of of a of an aptitude that that is
1:28:44 going to make you good at Ai and it's
1:28:47 something that you can practice so
1:28:50 here's what I want you to
1:28:51 do if you don't know it chat GB T has an
1:28:55 app that you can get on your iPhone or
1:28:58 your or your Android
1:29:01 [ __ ] and it's just like chat GPT website
1:29:05 except there's one little difference in
1:29:07 the lower right hand corner there's
1:29:09 these headphones if you put it in
1:29:11 headphone mode you can talk to
1:29:16 it hey chat GPT what's happening
1:29:29 response five casual check-in a 24 2024
1:29:34 hey Kyle not much just here and ready to
1:29:37 help you out with what so here's the
1:29:41 assignment in the in the realm of
1:29:43 curiosity I want you to start working on
1:29:46 your Cur curios curiosity skills and
1:29:51 aptitude I want you to have at least a 5
1:29:53 minute com conversation not a search
1:29:57 with typing I want you to put chat GPT
1:30:00 in conversation mode and I want you to
1:30:03 have I you can brainstorm with it or if
1:30:06 there's a topic that you are
1:30:08 particularly interested in I want you to
1:30:11 have a conversation with chat
1:30:13 GPT about a topic you know nothing
1:30:18 about like maybe it's something that is
1:30:21 kind of the the most distant thing that
1:30:24 you have no interest in I want you to
1:30:27 have a conversation about that and I
1:30:28 want you to spend at least five minutes
1:30:31 at least five minutes having a
1:30:34 conversation where you have chat GPT
1:30:36 educate you or create a
1:30:41 game
1:30:42 or let you ask it
1:30:45 questions about that
1:30:48 topic just for the sake of
1:30:52 curiosity [ __ ] it learn something
1:30:55 new so if you're
1:30:57 non-technical ask it about some
1:30:59 technical
1:31:00 [ __ ] if you're super
1:31:03 technical ask it about
1:31:07 philosophy or creativity how to creative
1:31:11 people's mind works what the [ __ ] is
1:31:13 with these add people why don't they
1:31:15 shut the [ __ ]
1:31:17 up just go explore
1:31:21 it all right
1:31:24 so
1:31:26 yeah
1:31:28 um Brandon I'm gonna need I'm gonna need
1:31:31 you to teach me how to find how to make
1:31:36 the meta agent things because their
1:31:39 website is [ __ ] useless they're like
1:31:42 you can make it on Facebook or on
1:31:43 Instagram and I go to make it on
1:31:45 Facebook and it sends me to Instagram
1:31:47 and I can't [ __ ] find where to make
1:31:48 them there so I I am giving up I I have
1:31:52 punted on demoing that to tonight anyway
1:31:55 I'll I'll do it as soon as I can figure
1:31:56 it out
1:31:58 but please cover
1:32:02 watch
1:32:09 [Music]
1:32:14 okay philosophical meltdown Monday I
1:32:17 think we've done that I even melted down
1:32:20 about judgmental strategy game players
1:32:25 how dare
1:32:27 you trigger
1:32:29 twitchers it's just
1:32:32 rude we like
1:32:34 adrenaline we don't like like
1:32:36 intellectual stimulation we're like
1:32:38 [ __ ] Jack it into my amydala
1:32:44 me get satisfaction out of learning all
1:32:47 of the what do you read the
1:32:51 manual it's disgusting
1:32:55 all
1:32:56 right oh there's a new music generator
1:33:00 that I didn't even [ __ ] know about
1:33:01 Brandon showed me you can do it from The
1:33:03 Meta AI login with Instagram that's
1:33:06 where I couldn't do it I don't think I I
1:33:09 don't [ __ ] know I don't care right
1:33:11 now don't don't try to solve it now
1:33:13 Brandon
1:33:15 I'll make take a screenshot or something
1:33:18 I can't oh that image was really cool
1:33:20 look at this one
1:33:25 let's go just I'm going to save that
1:33:29 one I mean imagine a future where our
1:33:32 only job is to curate cool
1:33:35 [ __ ] go make me you
1:33:39 know an endless stream of music videos
1:33:42 of Taylor Swift singing original songs
1:33:45 about my particular broken heart right
1:33:47 now and it just [ __ ] blasts out
1:33:51 original Taylor Swift songs about Broken
1:33:53 Hearts your broken
1:33:55 heart that we're not that far from that
1:33:57 world okay so we're going to go look at
1:33:59 the new music
1:34:04 generator oh yeah good good reminder so
1:34:08 over the weekend I gave you homework to
1:34:12 go on Twitter and find something new so
1:34:15 I'm curious if anyone found anything new
1:34:18 we'll go check that out
1:34:31 something interesting happening on
1:34:33 Twitter oh yeah I'll talk about that too
1:34:35 okay cool so who who uh new station on
1:34:39 this one I don't can I yeah I think I
1:34:41 can yeah I
1:34:50 can oh funky it's still going to give me
1:34:52 the fish things though but maybe it'll
1:34:54 give me more machines
1:34:56 now yeah I think it's more
1:35:00 machiney here I
1:35:05 will I'm going to go over to the AI
1:35:07 Salon to the AI Irregulars
1:35:10 Channel and I'm going to paste that in
1:35:18 here
1:35:20 post so now you can go you can go see
1:35:23 that
1:35:26 groovy gry it's gry it's groy I tell
1:35:31 you fantastic Bob tell him what he's won
1:35:36 he uh hasn't won anything it's not a
1:35:37 game they uh
1:35:41 Ian uh uh
1:35:45 uh new show inel or boow inel where on
1:35:50 Twitter and then you get sued by Taylor
1:35:52 Swift now no see I don't think so
1:35:55 Brandon I think that
1:36:01 um I think there's going to be I I I I
1:36:04 think what we're going to see is you're
1:36:05 going to see the Taylor Swifts of the
1:36:07 world collaborating with their fans
1:36:09 rather than suing them I I think it's
1:36:11 going to be insane to you won't be able
1:36:13 to there you won't be able to sue
1:36:15 everyone Disney's going to try but smart
1:36:18 artists will figure out how to
1:36:20 collaborate with their
1:36:22 fans uh
1:36:26 I am up at 5: oh dear oh no sorry it's a
1:36:31 little late here oh Rachel Sparkles I
1:36:34 saw your really nice comment earlier I
1:36:35 just didn't get a chance to mention it
1:36:37 but thank you for that that was very
1:36:38 very
1:36:39 sweet is there a way to search all chat
1:36:42 threads in the online version of chat
1:36:44 GPT like the mobile app
1:36:48 Firefly no there's not
1:36:56 I have been yelling about the lack of a
1:36:58 search functionality in the website for
1:37:01 a year
1:37:03 now it
1:37:06 is it is criminally negligent that they
1:37:10 don't have a search function in chat GPT
1:37:12 now that said Firefly if you're on a Mac
1:37:16 if you get the Mac version of the chat
1:37:18 GPT app that has search in it so the Mac
1:37:22 app is effective L the mobile app
1:37:25 running on a Mac so it has the search
1:37:28 function in it so on your laptop you can
1:37:31 search through your prompt history but
1:37:33 you can't do it in the
1:37:35 website and if your question is isn't
1:37:38 that stupid the answer
1:37:41 is
1:37:44 staggeringly staggeringly stupid like
1:37:47 unbelievable like
1:37:51 really really people
1:37:58 oh I got to take some sandpaper to this
1:38:00 Vicky I got I have a finishing issue
1:38:03 right here I got some I got I got some
1:38:05 raised
1:38:07 Nubs wait I think I can get them with my
1:38:10 thumb thumbnail I
1:38:13 did hey here's another
1:38:18 one support Menace
1:38:28 what what do you mean I have OCD I don't
1:38:29 have OCD I I don't have to do this until
1:38:32 all these are gone definitely
1:38:34 not Kyle I have not been able to find
1:38:37 the MAC app on the Apple Store please
1:38:39 give me some wisdom thanks um okay let
1:38:41 me see if I can go find it
1:38:43 um yeah you had to go to a different
1:38:46 place hang
1:38:47 on I think you had to go to a
1:38:51 link um
1:38:54 open AI Mac app chat
1:39:00 GPT chat GPT on your desktop okay so you
1:39:03 go
1:39:05 to
1:39:08 open.com chat
1:39:10 GPT
1:39:14 slac and then you download it from
1:39:19 there can someone type that in and pin
1:39:22 it Kyle I've not been a okay yeah for
1:39:24 for for AI Bob
1:39:27 open.com chat
1:39:31 gptm and then that
1:39:34 will give
1:39:41 you a DMG or whatever the [ __ ] they call
1:39:44 them the installer and then you drag it
1:39:46 into
1:39:49 your into your apps folder applications
1:39:52 folder
1:39:55 the
1:39:57 application couldn't be put in there
1:39:59 because it's already running probably
1:40:01 already running yep there it is
1:40:04 running a newer
1:40:08 version install and
1:40:12 relaunch let's see if we have the new
1:40:14 talkie thing o this is looking
1:40:17 promising hey are you the new voice I
1:40:20 don't think you are
1:40:28 response one hey can I interrupt you can
1:40:31 I interrupt you can I interrupt you I'm
1:40:34 the same assistant you've been chatting
1:40:35 with here to help I don't have any
1:40:38 interest in you go away let me know
1:40:40 what's on your mind all right I thought
1:40:42 I'd quit you I wish I could quit
1:40:51 you response two playing along with the
1:40:54 reference date August 27 2024 how's that
1:40:57 still talk I guess we're just destined
1:40:59 to keep crossing paths like some sort of
1:41:01 AI version of a love story what can I
1:41:03 help you with today Kyle why is that
1:41:06 running
1:41:12 still hey chat
1:41:17 GPT response three reflective question
1:41:21 August 27th 2024 Maybe it's because
1:41:24 we've got unfinished business or perhaps
1:41:26 you just enjoy the banter what do you
1:41:28 think keeps bringing us back
1:41:34 together
1:41:39 huh she's not running and yet she is
1:41:42 wait what's this
1:42:03 I don't know it's it's somehow running
1:42:05 in the background she might not shut the
1:42:07 [ __ ] up I might need to restart my
1:42:11 machine must be an mclass
1:42:14 processor what o what OS do you need you
1:42:17 you
1:42:20 probably yeah I think you actually do
1:42:22 need um
1:42:24 it needs to be an mclass
1:42:27 processor you can find her with a
1:42:29 three-finger
1:42:37 swipe I got too I got too much [ __ ] open
1:42:42 Vicki my my applications running are
1:42:45 only to be outdone by my T number of
1:42:47 tabs
1:42:51 running she's a little upset
1:42:54 [Laughter]
1:42:55 awesome this was worth paying the
1:42:57 admission okay great awesome great
1:42:59 fantastic yeah the AI Salon AI learning
1:43:02 lab is worth every penny you
1:43:04 pay
1:43:06 um all right let's see what else is on
1:43:08 the list here um let's go to loud me. a
1:43:14 so l u d m loud me I think it's a weird
1:43:20 name because it makes it sounds like
1:43:21 some other kind of name but l o u d m.
1:43:32 a and that will take you here generate
1:43:35 royaltyfree songs from Just a text
1:43:38 prompt so generate AI music now I'm
1:43:41 already logged
1:43:42 in here's the very first song I
1:43:47 made dreams in his mind open roads call
1:43:53 him
1:43:54 future he
1:43:55 [Music]
1:44:03 willing through the shadows of an
1:44:07 endless
1:44:09 fi so just like sunno and yudo um it's
1:44:14 got a really simple interface they
1:44:16 haven't [ __ ] it up yet they also you
1:44:19 can um generate sound effects so just
1:44:22 text to sound effects so you can do
1:44:29 um roaring crowd at a rock concert
1:44:33 cheering for their favorite song as it
1:44:41 begins and then it actually makes you
1:44:43 four versions of that sound effect Daisy
1:44:46 may we just got a glimpse of Kyle's
1:44:48 Kyle's brain in computer form it's it's
1:44:50 true
1:44:54 it's true it's true I'll give you
1:44:58 that um roaring crowd at a rock
1:45:03 [Applause]
1:45:11 concert not
1:45:15 bad that was
1:45:20 good oh that was a car squeal I did okay
1:45:22 let's do
1:45:25 um tropical magp
1:45:28 pies fighting
1:45:36 with lesser Eastern Blue
1:45:43 Jays I I I have no idea I am my
1:45:48 ornithological skills are are uh are
1:45:51 thin
1:46:01 nothing I got nothing it didn't
1:46:11 understand tropical birds fighting with
1:46:19 monkeys that was weird I got nothing
1:46:22 there were little wav W forms I
1:46:25 wonder I wonder if it went to my
1:46:27 Bluetooth headphones
1:46:35 somehow
1:46:37 huh now I'm getting nothing are these
1:46:40 still
1:46:41 working no okay wait oh that's tropical
1:46:44 mag
1:46:45 pies there's the
1:46:48 crowd all right something ate my speaker
1:46:51 hang on
1:46:56 oh there we
1:47:05 go that's
1:47:09 good see if it wakes up
1:47:12 champy
1:47:15 champy he doesn't care
1:47:20 [Music]
1:47:26 huh
1:47:29 the wow this is tropical magp is
1:47:31 fighting with lesser Eastern Blue
1:47:43 Jays I hate when chat GPT stalks
1:47:46 me
1:47:48 um Kyle I found loud me doing your
1:47:52 homework assignment also nice I think
1:47:55 it's pronounced lud
1:47:58 what lud
1:48:01 Mio
1:48:04 lude no it's it's loud
1:48:08 me this is like oh lud Meo like
1:48:12 yio I think you're being a smartass
1:48:14 takes me a while
1:48:17 sometimes oh let me tell you the
1:48:19 interesting thing going on on Twitter
1:48:20 right now let me see if there's one
1:48:22 actually going on as we
1:48:41 speak meta and telegram
1:48:46 conversation no there's not there's not
1:48:47 one happening right
1:48:50 now so if you've been following the Mr
1:48:54 strawberry
1:48:55 thing there's there's this account
1:48:57 called I rule the world Mo on
1:49:01 Twitter
1:49:03 and it basically went from a standing
1:49:07 start with no followers to 35,000
1:49:09 followers in like three weeks largely by
1:49:12 hyping up the pending launch of GPT 5
1:49:16 and project strawberry which is a
1:49:18 reasoning engine and I got sucked into
1:49:21 it and lots of people got sucked into it
1:49:23 and so my apologies for um sucking all
1:49:27 of you into it other than it it it
1:49:32 did there's something interesting about
1:49:35 it so from what I can gather it
1:49:42 is human beings acting
1:49:45 like
1:49:48 um AI
1:49:50 Bots it it looks like these humans are
1:49:54 part of or part of a market marketing
1:49:57 play from
1:49:59 worldcoin which is Sam alman's
1:50:04 cryptocurrency along with World ID which
1:50:06 is their human verification system which
1:50:08 I have one of full disclosure I've had
1:50:12 my iris's scanned and I have a world
1:50:15 ID um so I think that's that's what it
1:50:22 is but there's all sorts of really
1:50:24 interesting layers to it one of the
1:50:26 interesting layers
1:50:32 is likely through
1:50:35 design they created these characters
1:50:38 that they sort of said these are
1:50:40 probably AIS you're interacting with
1:50:42 AIS Kyle how did you become a speaker on
1:50:46 it yesterday I just raised my
1:50:48 hand I said I want to speak um i' had
1:50:52 been sort of commenting back and forth
1:50:55 with Chris
1:50:56 Universe um who hosted a couple of those
1:50:58 spaces and so I
1:51:02 um when I went in there and raised my
1:51:04 hand he said oh I I I put a comment in
1:51:07 the chat that I'm willing to share my
1:51:09 origin story or something like that and
1:51:10 he he said I want to hear Kyle's origin
1:51:12 story so I just raised my
1:51:15 hand
1:51:17 um so so one issue that it raised is
1:51:21 that we we are now at a place because
1:51:25 we've heard open ai's advanced voice
1:51:28 enough
1:51:31 now
1:51:33 that we can no longer be sure if who
1:51:37 we're talking to like in a Twitter
1:51:39 spaces is a person or not is a person or
1:51:44 an
1:51:46 AI and I was in a Twitter spaces the
1:51:48 other day where they explicitly had some
1:51:50 guy had access to the advanced voice
1:51:52 model
1:51:53 and he was letting people interact with
1:51:55 it it was pretty good but you could you
1:51:56 could tell it was definitely a bot but
1:51:58 if there's a next version of chat GPT
1:52:01 that's got reasoning in it it might be
1:52:04 effectively impossible to tell if you're
1:52:07 interacting with a bot whether or not
1:52:10 that technology exists we now live in a
1:52:13 world where that's an active
1:52:15 conversation how do we know if the
1:52:17 person we're talking to is a bot or
1:52:21 not so that's kind of freaky so so one
1:52:24 of the benefits or one of the one of the
1:52:26 things that came out of this whole Mr
1:52:28 strawberry thing is that conversation
1:52:30 kind of opened
1:52:32 up the other thing and the thing that
1:52:34 I'm I'm seeing now on Twitter that I
1:52:38 haven't seen in a in a long time or I
1:52:41 like I haven't seen
1:52:42 ever is
1:52:47 that a lot of these more technical AI
1:52:50 people and nft people and blockchain
1:52:53 people are now starting to spin up
1:52:56 Twitter spaces like I saw one today and
1:52:58 it was
1:52:59 called
1:53:01 amateur amateur AI people or something
1:53:05 like that so they're basically starting
1:53:07 up like AI learning lab kind of
1:53:11 spaces but with a very different mindset
1:53:14 it's very technical it's very nft bro
1:53:17 kind
1:53:18 of kind of vibe to it and they're
1:53:22 they're okay it just felt a little icky
1:53:24 to me and what struck me is
1:53:28 that if we spun up a Twitter spaces if I
1:53:32 just said [ __ ] it let's just jump from
1:53:34 here over to Twitter spaces we would
1:53:37 have a [ __ ] kickass Twitter spaces
1:53:40 because the people that hang out here
1:53:43 are articulate are smart are
1:53:46 experienced and are using AI in they're
1:53:51 not coming at it from from Tech
1:53:53 development first for the most part some
1:53:55 there's a a handful in here that are but
1:53:57 most of us are coming at this from the
1:54:00 humanity
1:54:02 side right problem solving and
1:54:05 Humanities and writing and
1:54:11 creative but I think it's interesting
1:54:13 that you know sort of 18 months almost
1:54:16 two years after chat GPT comes out we're
1:54:18 just starting to see Twitter spaces kind
1:54:21 of emerge to talk about oh we should
1:54:23 probably talk about this generative AI
1:54:24 stuff and what's
1:54:26 coming um so that's the thing that's
1:54:28 going on on Twitter I think I find kind
1:54:30 of
1:54:31 fascinating um that like why is it
1:54:33 happening now and I think it's largely
1:54:34 precipitated by this this marketing Ploy
1:54:38 from the crypto the crypto
1:54:40 kids
1:54:42 um yeah
1:54:45 fascinating uh
1:54:55 all right I think that's it what time is
1:54:57 it yeah it's time it's time it's time
1:55:01 people let's go take money at the door
1:55:04 [Laughter]
1:55:06 Kyle oh over there yeah maybe maybe at
1:55:10 some point oh that is something so
1:55:12 here's something that I'm I'm thinking
1:55:13 about so on um in the Irregulars Channel
1:55:17 um in the threaded posts I put a post in
1:55:20 there I'm thinking of doing
1:55:26 a monthly
1:55:29 recorded AI Mastermind Q&A session where
1:55:34 I'll host it it'll be a 2-hour session
1:55:37 it's going to be a monthly fee that'll
1:55:39 allow you to be in there you know
1:55:41 everyone will prepare you know what
1:55:44 they're working on and a question that
1:55:47 they want answered and then over the 2
1:55:49 hours I'll pick some handful of of
1:55:51 people in it and we'll answer those
1:55:53 questions so I want to do that as a paid
1:55:56 um a paid
1:55:59 monthly event or I don't know Mastermind
1:56:04 um and so I put in the Irregulars
1:56:08 Channel I put a post that has I think
1:56:10 there's five questions there like you
1:56:12 know is that something you'd be
1:56:14 interested you know what do you think
1:56:16 would be a fair price that you'd be
1:56:17 happy to pay um I don't know I've got
1:56:21 I've got five questions so I'm just
1:56:22 trying to do research right now to see
1:56:24 if it's a good idea I don't want to spin
1:56:26 something up if it's if it's not of
1:56:27 interest but if it is um it would be
1:56:30 kind of a much more focused version of
1:56:33 this where you come in with specific
1:56:35 questions on a monthly basis we dig deep
1:56:37 on them and then you have access to all
1:56:39 those recordings
1:56:42 so um we are so much more funner we
1:56:45 totally are so much more
1:56:47 funner skip ahead about an hour and 10
1:56:50 minutes into it uh uh did did you hear
1:56:53 Anna's story in the spaces chat she was
1:56:56 near the
1:56:57 end no I
1:57:00 didn't um write chapter one of my next
1:57:04 ebooks during your live tonight oh could
1:57:07 have done that I didn't see that
1:57:15 [Music]
1:57:16 though we hit the AI learning lab pay
1:57:18 wall the first 18 months are
1:57:21 free and maybe you consider
1:57:24 paying a little news about
1:57:27 Reflections
1:57:29 Pi what I don't know anything about
1:57:32 Reflections PI what's that mean re
1:57:38 flections piie
1:57:53 I ain't know what that means there oh
1:57:56 inflection pie what about it was there
1:57:59 news
1:58:30 now 5 months after Microsoft hired its
1:58:34 Founders inflection adds usage caps to
1:58:38 Pi that doesn't surprise
1:58:42 me inflection plans to limit free access
1:58:46 so that's listen this is going to happen
1:58:48 with all of the tools all of the tools
1:58:51 that are free right now or not going to
1:58:53 be free for for much
1:58:59 longer yeah all
1:59:02 right I'm getting out of here later I'll
1:59:05 have a great one all right Corey see you
1:59:07 later I want to
1:59:09 go Kyle is now Kyle is now the grandpa
1:59:13 of AI social media
1:59:17 channels that's why I have hair growth
1:59:19 supplements
1:59:28 I'll say it for you Silver Fox was here
1:59:30 all right Silver Fox peace out okay so

2:00:19 keep coming back and hanging out be in
2:00:20 this conversation be in a community like
2:00:23 the salon start working on your
2:00:26 aptitudes things like curiosity and
2:00:29 bravery and adventure and playfulness
2:00:32 and you know critical
2:00:37 thinking start looking at AI not as
2:00:40 specific tools but as capabilities you
2:00:44 get to tap into but you have to use your
2:00:47 thinky
2:00:49 parts to understand
2:00:53 what to do with them and how to play
2:00:54 with them
2:00:56 and be creative with them get fluid with
2:01:00 them all right so do that so keep coming
2:01:04 back thanks mods oh dear I missed it all
