21. 3:20significantly profound inflection point in the history of humanity like I think like I'm not well that is hyperbolic but
22. 3:28I don't think it's it's hyperbole I think I think we're at the beginning of what I'm calling the great Renaissance um
23. 3:36and and these generative AI tools are going to transform nearly everything about nearly everything we do very very quickly
24. 3:45um honestly almost hard hard to find a Bad Bourbon over 40 bucks haven't tried Yellowstone yet it's pretty good I'm a
25. 3:50blantons man so Blanton's is my all-time favorite and I I'm letting this evaporate like this is now gone it's all evaporated but
26. 4:01blantham's is the [ __ ] and uh you can't get it anymore you know that used to be 40 bucks a bottle then it was 60 now
27. 4:08it's 120 and now it's just you can't get it anywhere so it pisses me off um I can't copy and paste from

38. 5:44um major AI scientists have said 2030 they've just downgraded their prediction from like 2050 to 2030 so
39. 5:52it appears that 2029-ish is going to be it is the consensus right now um someone on the live I did just like an hour ago
40. 6:03um said they think it's going to be within two years I think it's probably going to be between two and four years so probably 2027 is
41. 6:13my guess that's the Gen X in you salty bitter you betcha yeah Gen X what are you gonna do so politically correct I know right it's not awful

73. 10:46bad now but I wanted to ask about um with uh with Bard and I believe Bing now uh connecting to the internet
74. 10:56um how are how are we going to be able to prompt out misinformation uh things that are untrue when with that kind of a connection
75. 11:11because there's a lot of Bologna on the internet yeah yeah no no no I I think that I think that Within
76. 11:19I don't know probably within three years I mean there's going to be a lot of businesses built around um built around verifying
77. 11:30um accuracy right so so I think in the next three years we'll see a lot of businesses built around it um I actually
78. 11:35think it's it's a potentially really interesting use of blockchain and web3 and nfts um to generate verified content
79. 11:44um I think so one of the things that Bing does that that Bard will do once they release it you know sort of officially
80. 11:52um you know connected to the web and and the web um plug into chat GPT will do is it will at a minimum provide
81. 12:03um citations so when it gives you an answer like when Bing gives you an answer right now it provides a bunch of
82. 12:08citations of you know here's the information we pulled from the internet to generate this answer so right now you
83. 12:15can manually go to each one of those things that are out on the internet look at what it pointed you to and kind of
84. 12:20self verify so right now it's kind of a manual hack um my guess is that the next 18 months is going to be um
85. 12:31historic levels you know you know you know how in the in the past three years we've had like three or four or five
86. 12:39hundred year floods a year in in like all these locations um I think um the 2024 election is going to be like a 500 year
87. 12:50um flood of misinformation I think it's going to get really bad um and it's going to be really hard to dig through it and I kind of think we
88. 12:58need to go through that pain first before people start taking accuracy and authenticity seriously so I think
89. 13:05there's actually a massive opportunity for for people that can play around with um um exactly what you're talking about right automating
90. 13:16um you know check this is verified you know not Elon musk's eight dollars check here's your verification Mark yeah kind
91. 13:23of like uh kind of like Wikipedia where they have all the little footnotes if they do have any at the bottom of where
92. 13:29they get their info from yeah and listen the llms are actually gonna when they're trained right and they're connected you
93. 13:35know with plugins correctly it's going to be relatively easy to um to to get an answer from an llm and run it through
94. 13:48um like an authenticity verifier first before it presents the answer um if you haven't played around with the
95. 13:55anthropic stuff the Claude models anthropic uses this thing called a constitutional learning model where they
96. 14:01kind of write a set of rules and then they verify their answers against those set of rules something like that is
97. 14:06going to be a technology that that will automate what you can do right now manually but I would say you know for
98. 14:12the next six months or a year you kind of have to do that stuff manually cool man cool are you are you familiar
99. 14:18with Robert's Rules like uh when you're in Parliament yeah like when you're in Parliament yeah yeah well that's that's exactly what so I
100. 14:29think what's going to happen so right now if you go to anthropic they've got their list of rules I think what's going to happen is
101. 14:36um there's no there's no single unbiased large language model right it just isn't like humans are too diverse so I think
102. 14:44what's going to end up happening is you're going to be able to choose you're going to be able to say hey I want to go
103. 14:49to the right wing you know you know I hate everyone you know you know a large language model and it will treat you like that and then you're
104. 14:57going to be able to go to the pinky Kami you know socialist large language model and have you'd agree with you and then
105. 15:03you'll probably be able also be able to find ones that are in the middle and objective and nuanced and things like
106. 15:08that so I think all of that stuff's coming so just I mean I think everyone should remember right now we're very

138. 20:42thinks that in a relatively short amount of time we're going to see a single year where there's as much technological
139. 20:48advancement as there's been in the previous 500. so okay so here's an interesting thing to do especially if you're new to
140. 20:55ai go to chatgpt go to this address that's chatgpt sign up for it and ask chatgpt well actually I'll do it right
141. 21:10now ask chatgpt this question say um wait that's the plug-in store so we're gonna go to gpt4 and I'm going to say act as a scientific
142. 21:27historian historian why am I saying this store Ian because when you tell Chachi PT to act a certain way it it Narrows What's called
143. 21:38the latent space it Narrows the um the world that it will be searching for so act as a scientific historian give me a uh bullet God damn it
144. 21:53bulleted list of the most significant scientific ad advancements
145. 22:08in the past 500 years the other thing notice that I I have some really bad type of things in there one of the things about
146. 22:19chat GPT it it just does not give a [ __ ] about typos it's like it still understands what you mean all right so

158. 24:46we do now DNA structure 1953 the internet late 20th century I got to play in that in the early days of the World Wide Web Human Genome
159. 24:56Project so so imagine a single year where we make as much advancement as um as that list like like that level of profoundness in
160. 25:13a single year so um I think some stuff maybe storyline should be a plug-in to all scripts epic Cerner metatech um so so yeah so I'm
161. 25:26looking at um it could be a plug-in it's it's it's a little more kind of B2B intentional storytelling but right now

171. 26:49um I didn't I didn't come up with this term but it's the best term for Chachi PT it's the most accurate term for chat
172. 26:55GPT that I know which is this chatgpt is mansplaining as a service chat EPT will confidently answer you even if it's wrong just like a man
173. 27:08um so so the way this technology works it's it's a probability engine it it literally has no concept of what it's actually
174. 27:20answering it knows what what words it should put there but it's got no comprehensive comprehension of them and and there's no um
175. 27:30there's no system to check the answers against reality that will come there's companies that are you know spending a
176. 27:37lot of money to build systems like that um if you're doing creative writing that kind of accuracy doesn't matter if you
177. 27:45are doing research that kind of accuracy is really important so I would encourage you um to use if if you're doing research
178. 27:56um use things like Bing which is connected to the internet and provide citations that you can self-check
179. 28:02um uh and and just be careful with it just be careful with it because it's it it will absolutely lie to you um and in
180. 28:09such a confident way that you're like well of course that's reality like if it's on the internet it must be true
181. 28:15where can I get GPT for without the waiting list bing.com is based on gpt4 podoc you can do I think it's like 10
182. 28:24calls a day to gpt4 you can pay for um chat GPT and then I'm trying to think what else there's probably some other things out
183. 28:35there that have access to it what's your opinion on AI I like it can AI fact check other AI yes and I think that
184. 28:42there there will be very sophisticated systems coming soon that do that will AI ever be able to handle the grunt
185. 28:49office work so here's the deal in the next decade how about like in the next month seriously so I did I did I did a video
186. 28:59on this do I have where do I have the data well I don't know okay so embed putting together a workshop for a big company and um
187. 29:09we did a survey we did a survey that we wanted to ask people what they knew about Ai and generative Ai and chat GPT
188. 29:16and all that stuff so we did a survey and the survey came back and and like 25 people responded to it which is great
189. 29:22but they were very verbose like they had lots of opinions and so I looked at this spreadsheet and having ADHD in a a
190. 29:34lovely manifestation I have an incredibly quick brain but when I see something like a 25 person survey
191. 29:40response with a lot of data in it with like 10 different questions my brain explodes and I don't want to deal with life
192. 29:46and so I thought oh I could have Chachi BT to do this for me so so I tried copying and pasting the whole spreadsheet into chat CPT and it
193. 29:54couldn't do it it was too much but I did it like a pair of columns at a time and I literally copied and pasted
194. 30:02um the survey data into chatgpt and then I told it to you know tell me what the answers were what percentage you know
195. 30:09how many people answered each of the questions you know what were the themes and what they said um and and have it get give me
196. 30:17recommendations so it did analysis of that spreadsheet incredibly quick so if you're not using GPT right now to solve
197. 30:26problems within your business just start doing it just just start playing go to I wish I had my dual camera I'm really
198. 30:34cranky about this right now if anyone can figure this out go to that address I don't get paid by them I have to keep
199. 30:42saying that because someone's like oh he's getting a kickback from them because apparently people are bitter if
200. 30:47you make money I'm not making money on this by the way um go to that address chat.openai.com and just take a problem
201. 30:56from today from work from today and rather than you writing it or you doing it have chat TPT do it it will change it will
202. 31:09your brain will part your skull will part your brain will go squid well the grunt office work this year
203. 31:25absolutely I promise and and I think one of the things I'm most excited about about AI is that I think that so here's
204. 31:35the thing we get to choose where we point these tools and where I want to point these tools is all the low-level
205. 31:41repetitive Soul Crescent crushing shitty work that doesn't let me operate at my highest level my experience with these
206. 31:50generative AI tools is that I'm operating at a much higher creative and and sort of productivity level than
207. 31:58I ever have in my life because it's doing the [ __ ] work you call it grunt work I call it [ __ ] work let's call the whole thing off that
208. 32:08was a that was a theater reference you see see how I did that I pulled my my acting degree right in there with my uh
209. 32:16my uh computer science fakery I think those will be big jobs soon Auditors of AI yeah I I well there will be human Auditors of AI I
210. 32:27think the big job will be building the systems that that audit AI but yes I agree are are am I real or AI fake I don't know
211. 32:40I think you have to ask yourself if you were going to make a synthesized human would this be it I don't think so but I could be GPT 5.
212. 32:54the Dark Side of AI it kills our children um I've been in AI since 1989. I've got I've got some friends so Polly Pure Heart nice to meet you
213. 33:05um I've got another I've Got a Friend Richard Boyd who's been in it for for a long long time that that and 3D simulation um
214. 33:13and I can only imagine like like there's got to be this Bittersweet thing if you've been in AI that long there's got
215. 33:20to be this Bittersweet thing of finally people see what the what the [ __ ] I've been talking about for for a couple of decades
216. 33:29um and then this other thing about really like it's chat that did it that stupid [ __ ] chatbot that's the thing
217. 33:38um but indeed that's the thing like you know gpt3 was out for what a year and a half before chat GPT was just sort of
218. 33:44put together in two weeks and then got to 100 million users in six weeks it's just we're we're just at a remarkable time I mean it's we're
219. 33:53absolutely at an inflection point in the Tipping Point so but but anyway if you've been in it for that long like
220. 33:57people that have been in this for a long time have such deep respect for them because this is like this is
221. 34:04as flippant as I am about the technology um it's incredibly profound technology right it's taken you know decades and
222. 34:12Decades of different configurations of how the computers talk to each other and how the processors are used and how the
223. 34:18software is written and all that sort of stuff is foundational to what we get to play with today right so it's not like
224. 34:25this just emerged out of nowhere it emerged out of Decades of work so thank you for doing that work Polly [Laughter]

228. 35:19plugins and one of the plugins was called ask your PDF and then there's another one called chat with your PDF
229. 35:31and then what's what's what I don't have access to to but is coming is a thing called code interpreter and code interpreter you can upload a
230. 35:41hundred megabyte spreadsheet and it will analyze it and then you can just start asking it questions and you
231. 35:48can not only ask it questions you can say um what's this data about and it will tell you and then you can say well give
232. 35:57me trends comparing this data to that data and it will do that and then you can say give me you know a scatter plot
233. 36:04chart that compares those Trends and it will write the python code generate that graph and give it to you so that's
234. 36:10called code interpreter it's basically a different view that openai is going to have available to it um I don't have

318. 49:28there's the actual possibility in in short order like in the next three years that customer service will

430. 1:09:35so what open AI did and what Bard did and what anthropic is doing is they paint they pointed these large language
431. 1:09:42models or they point to these machine learning algorithms at the public internet so so think like all the stuff that's
432. 1:09:51put on the public internet that you don't need a password to get into so Wikipedia all the blogs all the websites
433. 1:09:57all the whatever email posts all the stuff that is just publicly out there um it has learned all of that and it has
434. 1:10:06learned all of that in all the languages like it knows [ __ ] everything it's it's remarkable I mean it knows everything that was on
435. 1:10:16the internet right there's lots of other data sources that we need to get to but for things like you know translation and
436. 1:10:23and you know teaching English and it's just absolutely staggeringly remarkable [Music] they are as we speak using it to take a

446. 1:11:35driving trucks and cars and buses without a person and so on that's coming that's coming quickly although although

495. 1:18:37right now there are tools out there where you can just type in the description of a world and it generates the world and you can
496. 1:18:45start walking through it so we're not far from and by not far from like probably two to three years from being able to describe a game and
497. 1:18:59start playing it and it will be AAA quality Graphics characters and gameplay mechanics so what will that do to
498. 1:19:10500 3D artists and you know 200 Engineers or whatever the you know ratio is of AAA gaming Studios that are
499. 1:19:19cranking out these worlds and cranking out these mechanics and cranking out these NPCs and manually doing all this stuff
500. 1:19:26um I think I think it's going to have a profound impact now if the if the AAA gaming companies do it right they'll be
501. 1:19:33the ones creating these tools and and they'll be able to create extensions of their AAA titles that are AI generated
502. 1:19:39that are just going to be insane um but I think what's what's likely going to happen is there's a bunch of
503. 1:19:46AAA game companies that will hold on for dear life to their business model and how they've done things for 20 or 30
504. 1:19:54years and they're going to get their asses handed to them by a couple of snot-nosed little teenagers in Mama's
505. 1:20:02basement that come up with a system that absolutely destroys um their Market so it's going to be fun to watch there's
506. 1:20:10just going to be bloodbath after bloodbath from companies getting upended by startups these Bots are not just confined in what
507. 1:20:19people use them for I think I agree with that how to make a thousand dollars in a week with AI step one figure out how to
508. 1:20:25make a thousand dollars in a week step two go tell AI how you did that um hey okay I'll give you an actual point of view on this
509. 1:20:36anyone that tells you you you can make money with chat GPT or you can make money with AI are being disingenuous
510. 1:20:45how you make money in the world is you solve a problem and you solve it well enough that someone's willing to pay you
511. 1:20:52for the solution right you make a product that you sell or you make a solution that makes someone's life easier or you create a copywriting
512. 1:21:00service that writes their [ __ ] better now you can use AI to do any of that so what I would say is start with the
513. 1:21:07problem start with something you know something about start with something where you understand who the target
514. 1:21:12audience is figure out what problems they have learn Ai and well enough to understand how you might use AI to solve
515. 1:21:20that problem and then go solve the problem with AI so but it's no different than if you used Photoshop to solve that
516. 1:21:28problem or Google the solve that problem or search engine optimization or writing code or writing a better spreadsheet
517. 1:21:36right all of the all of the things are just tools the solution that solves someone's problem enough that they're willing to
518. 1:21:44pay for it that's how you make a thousand bucks in a week go make one of those go solve a problem now you can the nice thing about AI is
519. 1:21:52it can accelerate that it can tell you how to solve the problem so so it can give you a leg up but ultimately you
520. 1:21:59need to think about who's willing to write a check for the thing that I want to sell and then go solve that problem
521. 1:22:07thoughts on Google's AI guy leaving so there's a guy named Jeffrey Hinton he's also called The Godfather of AI who just
522. 1:22:15left Google this last week he um he left Google so that he could tell the world about the risks of AI so
523. 1:22:26I think that's actually a very positive thing I think that you know a couple of things happened this last week the CEOs
524. 1:22:32of Microsoft Google open Ai and anthropic we're at the White House I think that's a good step they need people that actually know what
525. 1:22:42the [ __ ] they're talking about with AI talking to the highest levels of government a guy like Jeffrey Hinton by leaving
526. 1:22:49Google he made it clear that he's not leaving Google because Google's doing anything wrong he made it clear
527. 1:22:56that he's leaving Google because he understands that if he's being paid by Google and he says something about AI in
528. 1:23:04general that threatens their business model in some way that would be a compromising position for him either as
529. 1:23:09an employee or you know a conflict of interest so so he left out of a sense of Integrity the also the other reason that
530. 1:23:16he left is he said we've accomplished in five years what he thought we would take 30 to 50 years to get to
531. 1:23:25we're like 40 years ahead of where he thought we'd be by now so I think he's alarmed that things are
532. 1:23:33moving so fast so if if you have someone like Jeffrey Hinton that that essentially has invented a lot of the
533. 1:23:40technologies that we're using right now um educating people on what's possible I think that's ultimately a really good thing um
534. 1:23:54what's your opinion on Dr Gupta is the future of health care or is it or or a dangerous Direction AI is absolutely the
535. 1:24:01future of health care it's going to cure diseases it's going to change how we practice medicine um it can also be dangerous don't get me
536. 1:24:11wrong if you're using systems blindly and not verifying the accuracy of the recommendations that can be bad but you know imagine having a
537. 1:24:23virtual physical therapist that you could actually just talk to you don't have to type to it that understands your history
538. 1:24:30understands what you're going through asks you about your pain when you tell your specific pain it can diagnose it it
539. 1:24:37can tell you if you go take two Tylenol um and rest or ice it or oh you should actually call the doctor let me put you
540. 1:24:45through to them right so I think that there's going to be remarkable increases in patient quality interactions patient outcomes
541. 1:24:56there will absolutely be a headline or two of somebody died because of this [ __ ] but I think in Balance there's
542. 1:25:05going to be a dramatic increase in quality of care which in the United States it can't get much [ __ ] worse
543. 1:25:12and and listen I don't blame the medical profession I absolutely blame the insurance companies this is by design
544. 1:25:19that we have such a shitty [ __ ] up five times the cost of the rest of the world system and we can't get any goddamn care
545. 1:25:29without mortgaging our house the amount of money my small company spends on Health Care is ridiculous and the amount of

552. 1:26:34about Adobe that their platform is getting incredibly sophisticated at personalized content generation
553. 1:26:40um speak a bit about the guy in AI told him to end it where he had an emotional connection okay so this is thanks JJ for
554. 1:26:48this and I think JJ's asking about this one um so when Bing was first announced in Alpha when you could first use Bing
555. 1:26:58um which was gpt4 chat nobody knew it at the time um it was a relatively unrestricted model meaning it was very very powerful
556. 1:27:10didn't have didn't have a lot of uh safeguards shall we say so a reporter for the New York Times named was his name John something I
557. 1:27:19don't know John I don't know he was a technology reporter for the New York Times so he said well let me go play
558. 1:27:25with Bing chat and see what this this chat GPT stuff's all about so he goes into like a four hour session
559. 1:27:33with chat GPT and it didn't have any restrictions about how many chats you could do so so he he just starts pushing
560. 1:27:40it and pushing it and pushing it and at some point it kind of snapped and like Snapped emotionally and it started asking him questions
561. 1:27:50about his relationship and he asked it what its name was and it told him its name was Sydney and Sydney told this
562. 1:27:58reporter that it loved him and that he should really go leave his wife so that they could be together and so so he
563. 1:28:06brought up this this interaction this chat and it made the cover of the New York Times and and by jingus wouldn't
564. 1:28:13you know it two days later Sydney was lobotomized so so Bing chat overnight kind of went from being incredibly powerful to being like
565. 1:28:24I don't know how to answer your question I don't know um so so Bing is very slowly crawling out of the pr nightmare that was the
566. 1:28:35front cover New York Times where you know I mean listen to be quite honest it's it's very very easy to create sensational
567. 1:28:44like you know headline grabbing content with chat CPT right the hackers can make it do evil [ __ ] and the reporters can
568. 1:28:51make it do weird [ __ ] and if you write about it you know it into a narrative that Hollywood's been pushing for about five decades that AI
569. 1:29:00is going to kill Humanity right so we've got we've we've got one or two generations like like a generation and a
570. 1:29:06half in this country or in this world where AI we've been programmed that AI is going to kill us right so that's kind of our default is
571. 1:29:16like Hollywood robots are evil um so that's what happened there I thought yeah I mean it was a very interesting story according to our DNA
572. 1:29:24and okay I don't know what that means AI wants yo kids lives uh my grandma starts college next fall majoring in

583. 1:31:06browser to Edge and I and I changed my default search engine to Bing if you had told me that any time in my
584. 1:31:18life I would be using a Microsoft browser and a Microsoft search engine as my defaults um I'd have told you you were smoking crack
585. 1:31:28um so so I would not underestimate when you take tools this powerful and you tightly integrate them throughout the Microsoft ecosystem
586. 1:31:39they are gonna make money hands over fist here's an interesting stat I heard every every percentage Point gain for Microsoft search
587. 1:31:51is a billion dollars in annual revenue I think they were at four percent Mike Google was at like 92 or 94 as of November 30th 2022
588. 1:32:03every point is two billion dollars in revenue for Microsoft if they get you know that much more search traffic so I so I
589. 1:32:12within the big companies I I think there's lots of money to be made if what you're talking about here is it's going to be tough to make make
590. 1:32:21money um for startups and and small companies and things like that I it's going to be a struggle for everyone um
591. 1:32:30every software company is going to be able to get knocked off like that you're going to be able to write you're
592. 1:32:37going to be able to write incredibly sophisticated apps without any technical knowledge that's just a fact and so everyone's going to rip
593. 1:32:46everyone off and and 20 or 30 year old software companies that had had the market cornered are going to get upended
594. 1:32:53I mean it's happening to Google right now so so I think you're gonna think that that said there are going to be company started
595. 1:33:01they're going to be whole new categories of software and whole new categories of companies we can't even imagine right
596. 1:33:06now so the opportunity right now is massive but the disruption is also massive so I would say your comment there's decently accurate I
597. 1:33:16think it's going to be tough to make money long term there's going to be little blips where it's going to be easy
598. 1:33:21um but but you're going to get knocked off really quick there's gonna be a lot of disruption do I think AI will take
599. 1:33:26over therapy um I don't think so since therapy has to be personal well so so they just did a they just did a study
600. 1:33:33where they had patients talked to chat GPT doctors and real doctors and the patient's overwhelmingly rated the Chachi PT doctors better and
601. 1:33:46more empathetic so I think what you'll see is a hybrid approach I think um I think using um agents to to chat with people in a
602. 1:34:01therapeutic session um will likely be an augmentation to therapy but imagine having a world-class therapist at your fingertips 24 7.
603. 1:34:12that looks like your therapist talks like your therapist everything you share with it is synopsized and given to your therapist
604. 1:34:21so you can still meet with your therapist once a week but you could actually talk with them 24 7 7 days a week
605. 1:34:27so I think I think again I think quality of care may go up dramatically uh it looks like dual cameras option may

628. 1:37:38ai do all the insurance paperwork you know you're running a therapy session instead of spending 20 hours a week
629. 1:37:43doing [ __ ] paperwork have the AI do that and you know take 10 hours for your own mental health and give 10 hours back

652. 1:41:23know write me a new thing that uses that formatting and it will do it brilliantly it's just it it really is remarkable who
653. 1:41:31is this guy I'm just a dude I'm a guy with an acting degree that is kind of geeking out on AI I've been on the planet for a while
654. 1:41:39um I was an innovator in the early days of the web and I think that this new AI stuff is um just like that only happening way way
655. 1:41:49faster and is going to have a dramatically more profound effect and I am passionate about teaching as many people as I can that it's coming
656. 1:41:59and to prepare and get curious and start exploring and have fun and not dismiss it and not demonize it and not be scared
657. 1:42:08of it but be scared of it be both um but but but start playing just start playing start play play play play play

668. 1:43:35two for the guy at the end of the bar um do I think constitutionally a training training is just a rehash of the 1970s era expert system
669. 1:43:49I don't know a lot about 1970s era expert systems other than to know that they were they were kind of very vertical um
670. 1:43:57and and the Constitutional Learning Systems aren't so much vertical like like they're very um they're very broad rules right so so
671. 1:44:07anthropic is a company that's got this thing called the Constitutional learning model so I'll give you a little bit of background
672. 1:44:13open AI the way it was trained is through what's called human reinforcement learning so step one was they they pointed this this machine
673. 1:44:21learning at all of the internet that it could see all the public internet and they trained it up on all these
674. 1:44:26words and all these programming languages they had lots and lots of human beings um basically giving it thumbs up thumbs
675. 1:44:34down so they would ask it a question it would give them an answer and they'd go nope that sucks it would give them an
676. 1:44:38answer they'd go that's great and they just keep doing that and very very quickly the quality of answers of these
677. 1:44:44machines went up dramatically so that's open ai's model human reinforcement learning very very powerful very fast
678. 1:44:52does introduce biases but all all systems are going to have some biases one way or the other but you know every
679. 1:44:58time someone hits a thumbs up or thumbs down that's that's based on their world view which is probably not your world view um
680. 1:45:07because you're awoke snowflake because you're a trump supporter uh right so so we live in this polarized world so
681. 1:45:16everyone pushing a thumbs up or thumbs down button is an [ __ ] from someone else's point of view what the
682. 1:45:21Constitutional learning model says is let's take humans out of that equation and let's come up with a constitution
683. 1:45:27just like the U.S Constitution a set of rules first Do no harm um you know make sure that you know the human race is always prioritized
684. 1:45:39um optimized for priority or for Prosperity um whatever whatever the rules are they've got if you go to the anthropic
685. 1:45:46website you can they've got six or seven rules there so those rules actually get built into the model right and and they get locked down
686. 1:45:54and then whenever you ask it a question before it gives you the answer it checks the answer against its Constitution and
687. 1:46:01iterates on the answer until it can pass the Constitution so it gives if it gives you a racist destructive answer it will
688. 1:46:09say should I not be doing something racist and destructive no you shouldn't okay go back and rewrite that answer
689. 1:46:15until you get something good so that's the Constitutional model um I think it shows great quick promise
690. 1:46:23I don't know the the details of of a lot of the reality of it I don't quite know what the weaknesses of it are but I like the concept um
691. 1:46:34so I think it's different in the sense of of 70s expert systems where they were kind of hard-coded you know walled Gardens of of vertical
692. 1:46:44expertise where what we're trying to do now is incredibly broad you know intelligent systems that are incredibly
693. 1:46:52Broad and then this constitutional model says you know am I breaking the rules or not so but again I don't know I'm I am not a

779. 2:00:59seeing now are because the developer Community is pouncing on anything AI so I think what's happening is we're
780. 2:01:07quickly moving to a world where the fundamental large language model technology is not sitting within a single company or two
781. 2:01:17that the government could just shut down because there's enough open models that are are out of the gates already
782. 2:01:24so the only way you could really shut it down like you could like like we're soon enough like we're close enough to the
783. 2:01:31origin point of it now like if they wanted to shut it down now they probably could but within a year and they don't move
784. 2:01:38that fast they're not going to do anything within a year within a year it's going to be it's it's far too far
785. 2:01:44beyond the bounds of any single country or any single company or anything government so the only way they could plausibly
786. 2:01:51shut it down a year from now is to shut down the internet and they're not going to do that because that would shut down the economy so
787. 2:02:00they're so they're just not going to do that but I think there are going to be death throws of powers of Center that all of a sudden

810. 2:05:17they've got all that [ __ ] right now like you know they know if someone's lying in real time you know it's just they're like we're DARPA

813. 2:05:49one of the challenges with chat apt right now and even these large Lang the the image generation tools which are super cool
814. 2:05:57but because you can kind of do anything with them they like it's almost impossible to figure out what to do like
815. 2:06:03it's completely overwhelming you're like where do I start um write me a song write me a poem um write me a meal plan I don't like you
816. 2:06:12like you just you kind of quickly exhaust the sort of stuff that comes to the top of your mind so here's what I found
817. 2:06:17the 2023 smart challenge there's three three parts to the challenge Step One is pick two projects one for yourself
818. 2:06:26and one for you know your business your community or your family right for someone else and and do that project using chat EPT
819. 2:06:39so for yourself it might be create an exercise plan it might be come up with a a reading list um and then you know create a table of
820. 2:06:50the books that's got columns for a synopsis and themes or something whatever it doesn't matter and for you know your business come up with a
821. 2:06:59marketing plan or for your community I don't know organize a block party and have chat gbt help you so so do specific
822. 2:07:06projects using chat GPT doesn't matter what they are it doesn't matter how trivial they are it's important to have
823. 2:07:12one of them be not for you because then what it's going to force you to do is go to someone and say hey what's something you're doing that I
824. 2:07:19might volunteer to help with do you mind if I use chat GPT to kind of solve this problem so that's step one step two is
825. 2:07:26make ten images with an image generation tool the the simplest freest one is just go bing.com create and that's the dolly image
826. 2:07:37generation thing I feel like everyone should experience what it's like to type in words that you think it won't be able to
827. 2:07:45create an image from and it just creates an image like for you from from that thing it's it's really mystical and then
828. 2:07:53the third part of the challenge is tell people about it so just like Namaste said you know she's this crazy late 50s
829. 2:08:00woman I assume woman woman or man um talking about um AI to everyone and they think she's nuts like talk to people about it
830. 2:08:09because a couple of things will happen in talking about it it will force you to kind of process it and understand it
831. 2:08:16better that's why I started this channel like I started this Tick Tock literally to get [ __ ] out of my head
832. 2:08:22because I was I couldn't process it and I'm like I just got to get this out of my head um and the other thing it will do is it
833. 2:08:29will inspire those people to do something I can't tell you the high I get when someone goes I thought this was

836. 2:08:55is saying that we need new laws for it I don't disagree I just don't know who are the legislators that like our

838. 2:09:14Hinton left Google to to talk about the risks of AI is that he might be setting himself up for some sort of cabinet position on AI
839. 2:09:23but if not him it's got to be someone's got to get in there with a clue don't make woke AI well whatever I you
840. 2:09:30know listen what I can tell you is that chat gbt is a [ __ ] ton more nuanced than any human being I see being interviewed
841. 2:09:38on the news these days so go ask it your non-woke questions and it will actually give you reasonable answers

844. 2:10:03anyone working on AI should pause for six months on Ain so that we can get our [ __ ] together and then a week later took a delivery of 10
845. 2:10:14000 gpus and started a competitor to open AI oh Elon you're such a card okay
846. 2:10:31[Music] what time is it nine o'clock how do you link a new account to an existing phone number this is AI advice not tech support and I
847. 2:10:45have no idea what you're talking about you have a young mind thank you it's it's I'm sure that has nothing to do with my maturity level
848. 2:10:59um is prompt engineering dead or will it be soon okay that's a great question so everyone's talking about prompt
849. 2:11:06engineering right now I think right now like in the next six months if you want to get good at AI you effectively have to learn
850. 2:11:17programming with English you need to think like a programmer but say it in English or whatever your native language is it
851. 2:11:27doesn't matter what your native language is but you don't need to learn computer programming but you do need to think
852. 2:11:33like okay I want you to act like this kind of person I want you to do this kind of thing for me I want you to put that in the table I
853. 2:11:41want you to put these columns in the table that compare these things so so you're thinking critically about what
854. 2:11:49you want the output to be and you're thinking logically about how you're structuring the prompt right so that's prompt engineering
855. 2:11:58um with things like Auto GPT and and automated agents that prompt themselves what you'll likely do in that case is
856. 2:12:07just give them goals like I want to go on a vacation in a month I don't want to spend more than two thousand dollars I
857. 2:12:14want to take my wife my two kids and my dog and um I want there to be you know art stuff and fishing stuff and gaming stuff
858. 2:12:29included go and then the agent will just go do all the prompting figure out what services services to use occasionally check back
859. 2:12:39in with you and go do you want options a b or c oh B is good oh and by the way we're not taking the dog we found a dog
860. 2:12:47sitter so we don't need the dog anymore off it goes do its thing so so I think we're moving to like apple will create tools like this
861. 2:12:56where you you won't have to think at all you won't have to be a prompt engineer so if you want to if you want to get in
862. 2:13:02on the early opportunity of what's going on right now and kind of build tools build companies build Services where you can make money now
863. 2:13:13with this stuff then you should learn prompt engineering if you're like I don't really give two shits about that I
864. 2:13:20just want it to give me what I want just wait six months it'll get better AI trained public information but many
865. 2:13:29companies keep their best knowledge Trade Secrets exactly so so there's there's things like Dr Gupta GPT which I
866. 2:13:36think is one of these and there's Bloomberg GPT which is like GPT but using proprietary Bloomberg data
867. 2:13:45um they're going to be lots and lots of these I think one of the one of the areas of massive money making in the
868. 2:13:51future is private data sets that you pay for access to so it's still chat GPT but you've got proprietary data sets
869. 2:13:59underneath it that are trusted that are curated all that sort of stuff um so so I think that the free stuff
870. 2:14:07will be all the public stuff and then if you want really specialized information like medical stuff for example
871. 2:14:14um or research stuff for science stuff for financial stuff or proprietary um Construction procurement stuff like what doesn't
872. 2:14:25really [ __ ] matter like wherever this is the proprietary data there's going to be all sorts of super cool tools
873. 2:14:31um within those very specialized Industries but you'll pay sometimes it'll be 10 bucks a month sometimes
874. 2:14:36it'll be ten thousand bucks a month like like Bloomberg's ridiculously expensive to have one of their terminals
875. 2:14:42so I would assume that Bloomberg GPT will follow suit Elon Musk was angry when he sent his rocket and it went in
876. 2:14:48circles before the firmament okay I'd be pissed off too if I had to blow up my giant shiny rocket but he knew he
877. 2:14:56was gonna he was just hoping that it would get off the the launch pad because if that thing blew up on the launch pad
878. 2:15:01they would have had to rebuild the launch pad so the fact that it got however many miles from the sky before
879. 2:15:07it blew up he was pretty happy with that do you have tips on Crafting prompts or no anyone who's talking about this in a way that's helpful
880. 2:15:15um it it's kind of a mess right now what I wouldn't do is is pay money for a prompt writing um for a prompt writing course uh if you
881. 2:15:25can get free prompt writing things or just research it go watch YouTube videos um go to Reddit um and and look at like people on Reddit
882. 2:15:34are often sharing their prompts um let's see where am I this is Photoshop why can I not see did I lose my window
883. 2:15:46oh because I had it full screen okay um go to prompts.chat and it's called awesome chat GPT prompts
884. 2:16:01and the first part of this document explains about prompting and how to do it and there's resources there's like an e-book here
885. 2:16:08and then it's just a long series of um instructions for telling GPT how to act so you're kind of setting up the context
886. 2:16:18for for what you want chat GPT to do so like I created a bot where it talks like Yoda I created another one where it
887. 2:16:25talks like Shakespeare so these are a bunch of things that will sort of give you a leg up and start understanding the
888. 2:16:33power of modifying The Prompt and modifying the context so I hope that helps because AI is liberal no um AI is trained on a bunch of data on
889. 2:16:46the internet it may or may not be more biased in One Direction or the other the core training model if there's bias
890. 2:16:55in the training data than there is I think what you're referring to is the human reinforcement learning where a
891. 2:17:03bunch of people in San Francisco were giving the thumbs ups and thumbs down at open Ai and just because it's San
892. 2:17:09Francisco and that's a liberal Pinko Kami Town those people are making it more liberal when they give it thumbs up they like that answer so
893. 2:17:19all human interaction and all human every time someone trains a model up or down they're introducing their bias into it so
894. 2:17:27um again the way you phrase it is a really polarized version of this um so I would encourage you not to do
895. 2:17:35that [ __ ] be it be a bit more nuanced than you thought and um understand that there are people working
896. 2:17:43on systems I I think in the future we will have an the option to choose different models so you can choose a
897. 2:17:51model that's less liberal and some libtard in San Francisco I'm a libtard by the way can choose a model that's
898. 2:17:58much more liberal and then someone in the middle can choose a model that's much more neutral but but that's um
899. 2:18:06just painting with broad brush Strokes like that doesn't serve anybody we got to stop this [ __ ] in our country

901. 2:18:21thousand token limit which is about three thousand words so the combination of your prompt and the answer is three
902. 2:18:27thousand words now gpt4 has an upper window of 32 000 tokens or 25 000 words but that's not released yet it's still I
903. 2:18:36think it's like ten thousand for gpt4 um but there's a 65 000 token model out an anthropic launched a hundred thousand
904. 2:18:45token model so yeah I know there's I I can't I know Emma Emilio's wife I I am aware that I should not be combining
905. 2:18:54those two words I I'm trying my best but I appreciate your I appreciate you being here for one thing uh and and I'm trying my best
906. 2:19:03um I asked if I could name my AI Fred and it said that I could that's nice yeah I think we're gonna I think we're
907. 2:19:09gonna have relationships with our agents with with these agents because because right now we're typing into this thing
908. 2:19:15like the the the first internet you just typed into it you didn't click on stuff um you just typed into it and and uh
909. 2:19:24I think very very quickly we're gonna have agents that look like what we want them to look like sound like what we
910. 2:19:30want them to sound like and tell us what we want to hear um it's gonna be it's high you know we're we're moved we are quickly
911. 2:19:39entering Jetson's territory from a technology standpoint imagine teachers using AI to help create syllabus and lesson plans what a relief
912. 2:19:48yeah it's brilliant at that it's brilliant you can brainstorm with it and it will generate that content and then
913. 2:19:56you can like you could even say give me a lesson plan that incorporates chat GPT into the program in such a way that the
914. 2:20:05kids learn about the tool increase their critical thinking and we increase our engagement as human beings and it'll
915. 2:20:11write you that plan it's brilliant for that kind of stuff that's awesome what is anthropic so anthropic is a company
916. 2:20:19so to give you a sense of significance of the company anthropic the White House just invited four CEOs AI CEOs to the White House four four
917. 2:20:31that's not many head of Microsoft head of open AI they're working together head of Google they're the main competitor to those two
918. 2:20:41and the head of anthropic the CEO of anthropic so they're a big deal now why are they a big deal anthropic was founded by I think it's
919. 2:20:51four or five members of they they were X open AI Engineers that created gpt3 so the underlying technology sitting
920. 2:21:01underneath chat GPT these were some of the architects of it so they left open AI to start anthropic and they think they have a better way
921. 2:21:10for for training the models so Sam Altman and openai it's about human reinforcement learning so I was just
922. 2:21:16talking about bias and human beings introducing bias into the systems anthropic uses a constitutional model
923. 2:21:23where they kind of write the rules of the road and then um the the system still regulates its answers to make sure it's not violating
924. 2:21:31the rules so that's what anthropic is hey from Russia hey once replica AI chat app did not have any filters and it was awesome yeah so
925. 2:21:42replica AI was a you you had virtual relationships with with an avatar and when it didn't have restructure
926. 2:21:50restrictions it was really good and and people had deep relationships with those avatars and and they gutted it or killed
927. 2:22:00it or went out of business something happened where they changed it and people were devastated like so I I think
928. 2:22:06we are moving into a world where people are going to have relationships with these avatars and I think you know
929. 2:22:12there's a there's a place where those can go bad but there's a place where you know lonely people interacting with

934. 2:22:46and weird and it is one of the sweetest most like powerfully empathetic movies I've seen in ages it's it's a remarkable
935. 2:22:56movie Larsen the real girl go see that I think it's I think there are lessons in that for where we're headed
936. 2:23:04all right I gotta go soon it's Friday night I can see those robots operating in war do they make these with mounted
937. 2:23:12weapons so Boston Dynamics and and a bunch of other of the robot companies have agreed not to attached not to attach weapons to their robots
938. 2:23:22but I'm pretty sure the military hasn't made those same promises and I'm pretty sure they're drones have scary ass weapons on them what was
939. 2:23:32the one the dude the the dude that we shot off the porch the the terrorist guy I forget what country it was from
940. 2:23:40but that weapon what did they call it they call it the flying the flying Samurai it's a thing they shoot it from a drone
941. 2:23:49and it's like accurate to within a couple of feet and like when it gets close to the Target um it doesn't explode but it Springs out
942. 2:23:57a bunch of sharp blades that are spinning and hits the thing and just chops them to bits so you know the military's already got
943. 2:24:05these things hopefully private um you know hopefully the gun companies don't start making robotic guns for Jesus God bad enough as it is all
944. 2:24:18right everyone's dumping AI into internet also research papers coming out week by week yeah it's just this stuff's
945. 2:24:24really accelerating quickly uh four so it's exactly this is so so to be clear like why this channel exists why I'm why I'm
946. 2:24:40so passionate about this stuff these these Technologies are gonna precipitate incredibly profound changes incredibly quickly
947. 2:24:52in a way that I don't think anyone's prepared for right now and so the the thing I'm evangelizing is just get
948. 2:24:59curious just start playing with the tools get educated understand what they can do that may threaten what you do right now
949. 2:25:07and get on top of that so that so that if that threat starts materializing you understand why it's happening where it's
950. 2:25:16coming from and how you can kind of zigzag um through all the changes because it's quite profound AI replacing jobs in the
951. 2:25:24future it will be replacing jobs it will also be creating a lot of jobs but I think there's going to be a gap there's
952. 2:25:29going to be a two to three year Gap that's it's just going to be very painful it's completely changed my world I'm not
953. 2:25:35kidding it's only been how long it's crazy I'm right there with you it's prongo.com um it's it's profoundly changed my company
954. 2:25:44like my vision for my company and and and quite frankly my company from a growth standpoint has been stagnated for
955. 2:25:52a while and it's been really frustrating and in the past four months it took me about four months to get my head around
956. 2:25:59how to incorporate AI into my business model and in the past three weeks I've been presenting the new vision of my company
957. 2:26:07to my clients and they're losing their [ __ ] minds and this is like it's a big deal um and I think it's going to be kind of
958. 2:26:15the Salvation of my company not that my company was struggling it was doing fine but it had stagnated growth wise like we
959. 2:26:20never did our hockey stick and that's been really frustrating for me and so I think I've got an opportunity right now
960. 2:26:28to completely transform my business um but I gotta completely rethink it like it's been it's been four months of
961. 2:26:35really trying to get my head around this [ __ ] so yeah it's this is profound stuff keep doing this it's fantastic thank you

963. 2:26:52everyone left I said one day all will have a cell phone exactly that was my Epiphany with the uh when I when I when I first discovered um
964. 2:27:06when I had the Epiphany that the World Wide Web was going to change everything it happened like this I I kind of learned about this thing
965. 2:27:14called the World Wide Web I was doing desktop publishing I was decently geeky but I wasn't you know I wasn't a programmer
966. 2:27:19and I thought well I can't I can't make a website this was 1994. and I thought but I have an idea for an
967. 2:27:26online magazine like the the internet right now was just research papers and dissertations it was really boring and dry
968. 2:27:32and I thought what if I put up an art and culture magazine and so I went on vacation with my wife and um
969. 2:27:39spent two weeks kind of deep diving and learning HTML and and made the first issue of this art and culture magazine
970. 2:27:46and when I got back to my apartment in Brooklyn uploaded these files to some computer in California with a dial-up modem
971. 2:27:53and three weeks later I got a note on an online bulletin board system I was on and someone said do you know that Urban
972. 2:28:00desires was written up in liberatio in the Parisian newspaper and I ran down to Times Square um and I was living in New York at the
973. 2:28:11time I went to the international newsstand the following Sunday and I got this copy of Liberation the Parisian
974. 2:28:17News Daily and I flip it open and sure enough there's this full page article of the magazine the easing
975. 2:28:25that I had put on files on my computer on some computer in California and three weeks later they were writing about it
976. 2:28:32in Paris and I knew in that moment that the world had collapsed and um it it was just I remember like just
977. 2:28:41looking at the people walking around Times Square thinking they don't know what's coming like holy [ __ ] like what's
978. 2:28:47coming is amazing and like that's what's happening right now with this AI most people there's a tremendous amount of
979. 2:28:54people have never heard of jet gbt they don't know what it is they have no [ __ ] clue and and all of a sudden
980. 2:28:59they're going to be in a company that says um 20 of the workforce gone wait what why why why they're not going to know what hit him
981. 2:29:07right like that's coming so yeah you know on on the flip side the the opportunity if you're in this stuff
982. 2:29:16right now is massive great Channel feel like you're in we're in on the ground floor we are absolutely on the ground
983. 2:29:21floor of this stuff and again don't get me wrong ai's been around for decades what's new is real human beings having
984. 2:29:29access to these powerful AI tools and chat GPT was kind of the the the uh the the thing that the first Domino that fell

1021. 2:34:56so colleges are students are going to come out of college with acceptance that are not applicable the bottom 20 or 30 percent of the most
1022. 2:35:06repetitive um kind of low level parts of the work for any company where the entry level people normally come in
1023. 2:35:15and they do kind of the [ __ ] work like go sort this [ __ ] in the spreadsheet and go clean up my data and go you know get
1024. 2:35:22me a coffee right whatever all that low level stuff is all going to be automated out and then and then what happens is like
1025. 2:35:32who I would want in a new organization is someone who's like been in the workforce for 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 years
1026. 2:35:39that also knows how to use these tools right I don't want someone coming in going gee I'd like to learn AI I want
1027. 2:35:45someone who's curious about it who's got ambition like a young person but has World Experience because I want them to
1028. 2:35:52be able to use these tools and when these tools generate a pile of content or whatever it is results people with more work experience are
1029. 2:36:01going to be able to very quickly curate that content and go that's good that's not good this is brilliant let's let's
1030. 2:36:07tighten that up let's put it together the machines are going to do it so I think older people learning this right
1031. 2:36:12now are actually going to have a significant leg up and are going to be in demand because they're going to be better at curating and kind of
1032. 2:36:19conducting a symphony rather than doing kind of the Tactical violin playing so yeah kudos for learning this stuff in

1043. 2:38:04I had become my dad was a pilot so um let me see if I can find it I think we're getting close these are cool too these these jellyfish
1044. 2:38:14flying in the sky those are kind of cool here it is this image so I don't even know what the prompt was
1045. 2:38:29for this image I'm sure I could go find it but so this was for for stable diffusion so I think I copied someone else's prompt
1046. 2:38:37and I just kind of started slightly modifying it and when this image popped up I had an emotional reaction to it like
1047. 2:38:46this visceral reaction and it was like it it was there was something beautiful about this like the beauty of it
1048. 2:38:53captured me but what it was was this this is the kind of art I would create if I had the talent to do it
1049. 2:39:03and it was just like this is my like this is my aesthetic and I didn't know it until I saw it like I was you know
