0:03 champy 0:21 [Music] 0:34 he things hey 0:36 everybody Welcome to a Monday 0:40 night AI learning lab 0:44 [Music] 0:52 [Music] 1:12 good evening good 1:15 [Music] 1:22 people every time I see you now get that 1:27 looking back 1:30 time I see 1:32 your hear that 1:37 smile all right so if you're on Tik Tok 1:40 we're streaming live 1:43 on the video platform YT get it the uh 1:49 the account there is AI learninglab dtt 1:52 so if you flip over there we're going 1:55 live there and so how this is going to 1:57 work is I'll do a little of my 1:58 Shenanigans here at the beginning 2:01 [Music] 2:03 and then when we start looking at stuff 2:07 [Music] 2:20 [Music] 2:34 in a 2:35 Westerly 2:39 Direction this car is my 2:44 train I've been driving I've been 2:48 wondering what it is I'm running from 2:54 again feel like an 8-year-old 2:58 man hold and on 3:00 [Music] 3:02 29 and up on their 3:07 hor is California 3:11 [Music] 3:18 L up ahead of trucks car wide 3:21 low three five house cut and 3:26 half cute little front door and two 3:29 windows my love 3:31 ain't sure what the crowd should 3:35 laugh you see I broke a home up myself 3:39 once there I stumbl to that 3:43 do I read a note by the dawn 3:48 light don't you come around 3:53 here 3:57 anymore enough 4:04 [Music] 4:09 that's what I've been 4:19 told good day good 4:22 people that's freedom of the 4:25 road from Martin 4:27 ston that uh that that live unplugged 4:31 version featured champ champy Shannon on 4:35 lead vocals myself on backup 4:41 [Music] 5:17 you know sometimes you can't get him to 5:19 sing and sometimes you can't get him to 5:21 shut up isn't that right 5:24 Champion Freedom came my way that night 5:32 just like a jet plane in and out of 5:36 side I was hauling ass at a million 5:40 miles an hour wondering how I 5:46 did when they came into the 5:50 [Music] 5:53 station they said I was bad Beyond 5:58 repair but I got no bonds with my 6:04 situation say if I 6:09 [Music] 6:11 am 6:13 so say sh sh Shere won't you 6:19 dad say Shere Shere Shere won't your 6:24 dad say Shere Shere Shere 6:29 [Music] 6:31 uhhuh yeah leave a message and your 6:35 number 6:38 please take a time to want to satisfy 6:43 me take all these old 6:46 fantasies send them care of 6:50 [Music] 6:52 me all right good people if you are new 6:57 here we generally start these things off 6:59 with a little bit of 7:01 [Music] 7:05 singing let's see what we got going 7:12 here all right if you are on all right 7:16 if you're on this channel the one I'm 7:18 pointing at not this one this one if 7:21 you're on the talk head on over to 7:26 YouTube and the channel is AI learning 7:29 lab 7:31 dhtt and we're streaming live there as 7:33 well so when we start showing stuff off 7:36 so no gp5 this year no but I think we're 7:39 GNA get 7:41 01 I feel you distant 7:48 Kyle well we're doing we're doing some 7:51 new kinds of we're doing some new kinds 7:53 of stuff here all right all systems are 7:56 go good beautiful love that 8:01 [Music] 8:17 um I think what we end up getting from 8:20 open 8:23 AI maybe tomorrow I think it would be 8:26 stupid of them to to release a new 8:28 feature on election day that doesn't 8:31 that that seems 8:35 stupid they leaked they leaked 01 the 8:39 non- preview version of 01 was leaked 8:41 last 8:42 week and hey Tom what's what's happening 8:45 Naomi with shaking what's going down so 8:48 if you're here on the Tik Tock we're 8:50 going to be flipping over to 8:52 YouTube shortly 8:56 um 10 minutes or so 8:59 [Music] 9:12 [Music] 9:37 [Music] 9:50 um there's there's 9:53 there's I think one of the things we'll 9:55 talk about so mon Mondays tend to be be 9:58 Meandering Mondays and I think probably 10:00 do a little Meandering 10:01 tonight U and the Meandering is going to 10:04 be just around just some of the some of 10:08 what's going on in the industry right 10:10 now and in the industry what's the 10:12 industry the 10:14 industry's the [ __ ] I talk about is 10:17 generative AI so that's like chat jpt 10:19 Claude perplexity all that [ __ ] and then 10:22 it's all the image generation tools 10:24 music generation 10:25 tools video generation tools um 10:32 so there's there's a lot out there right 10:35 now 10:36 and and even with that the industry is 10:39 still in this weird sort of what's open 10:42 AI going to do holding pattern it's a 10:45 real pain in the ass like like Claude 10:49 3.5 Haiku launched today and it's 10:51 apparently better than Claude 3.5 10:56 non like the the old version of 3.5 but 11:00 way cheaper and um and then open AI sort 11:04 of leaked their version of 01 that's got 11:07 vision and and is the real version of 11:10 the 11:11 tool 11:12 um and I it doesn't seem like it was on 11:15 purpose it doesn't seem like it was a 11:17 marketing stunt but that happened last 11:19 week 11:23 um 11:26 and one of the guys David Shapiro that 11:29 that I tell you all to follow he quit AI 11:32 about three weeks ago he just goes we 11:36 we're essentially you know my prediction 11:38 about hitting AGI is essentially done 11:41 you know o 01 is essentially you know 11:44 the shitty ver version of AGI and it's 11:46 just going to get better from here on 11:47 out and we've dealt with the safety [ __ ] 11:50 and and everything's going to be fine I 11:52 I quit and he deleted all the content 11:55 from his YouTube channel and then in the 11:58 past two weeks all he's been talking 11:59 about his 12:00 AI 12:02 um and and what he talked what he talked 12:06 about in a a Twitter post over the 12:08 weekend 12:10 was he's basically done building the 12:13 tools of AI and now he just wants to 12:14 talk about how we use it and what we use 12:18 it for and why we use it and how it's 12:20 going to change work and how it's going 12:21 to affect people that's what we've been 12:23 talking about here for two years right 12:25 and so 12:26 so and and that's been I've been talking 12:30 a lot lately about this weird 12:33 existential crisis I'm having 12:35 about what do I talk about on this 12:38 channel because I feel 12:42 like like a lot of the other ticktockers 12:46 and YouTubers that I used to love their 12:49 content a lot of them are still talking 12:51 about tools and I just find myself not 12:56 giving a 12:58 [ __ ] about the 13:00 tools 13:01 because there's so many of them and 13:05 there's and they're so capable that like 13:09 you can literally just throw a dart at 13:10 them and if you put in a weekend you'll 13:14 be doing remarkable work right like 13:17 it I get that there's a need to do basic 13:21 you know here's how to use chat GPT 13:23 stuff 13:25 but I feel the the more important stuff 13:28 to talk about is 13:31 how is this going to affect our jobs 13:33 when when we get agents that can reason 13:36 and they can do our work for 13:39 us what do we do and that I don't know 13:42 that I don't know I do not have a good 13:43 answer for that 13:45 so strawberry man claiming to 13:48 be Sam 13:52 Alman yeah I saw that um I saw actually 13:56 someone shared with me a video 14:00 that um strawberry man is some American 14:04 dude in 14:06 Berlin forget his 14:08 name not 14:11 Terry I just followed him 14:15 um me move this over 14:22 here Bob Donan good evening AI Master 14:25 Kyle watching you on 86 in TV surround 14:29 sound feel like you're in my living room 14:32 I'm so sorry I'm so sorry 14:35 Bob here let's give you a little 14:38 [Music] 14:45 concert sitting in this lonely 14:49 Town wonder when things are going to 14:54 change dream my life 14:56 away seems these dreams have turned a 14:59 bunch DUS 15:02 glass get my nerve up but my past is 15:06 pulling me 15:09 down wonder how 15:12 long this black sheep going stick 15:16 [Music] 15:19 around somebody told me once before he 15:23 said you can never go home 15:25 again won't you leave Santa than to Ste 15:30 me 15:31 away from the truth of who I am and what 15:34 I believe so I thank him for those two 15:38 cents with a 15:39 [Music] 15:40 handshake and some 15:43 sympathy 15:45 yeah I packed up my blue 15:48 jeans and I head it 15:51 for this big 15:53 [Music] 15:54 priz of my freedom 16:00 bye-bye Black Sheep to the black sheep 16:05 of the 16:07 family 16:09 [Applause] 16:10 [Music] 16:11 byebye all right so here's what we're 16:13 gonna 16:14 do if you 16:17 have questions 16:21 comments pop them in the comments over 16:24 on YouTube or on X and I'll be able to 16:27 see them here if you have a question or 16:29 a comment on Tik Tok we're actually 16:32 pulling stuff from there as well and 16:34 being and we're able to pull that 16:36 in I'm gonna stop going live on Tik Tock 16:40 here in about I don't know five minutes 16:42 or so because I need to be able to it's 16:44 a it's a whole [ __ ] technical thing 16:46 doesn't matter it just I need to use 16:50 that device for my microphone so that I 16:53 can demo stuff and switch easily between 16:55 Windows um the other thing that I would 16:57 like to to uh give a shout out tonight 17:01 is to um all of the Irregulars and and 17:05 particularly the 17:07 mods so so if you don't know if you're 17:10 new here a lot of the people that show 17:12 up here um to the Channel show up here 17:15 night after night after night and 17:17 starting about two weeks ago Tik Tok 17:19 booted me off the platform and we 17:20 started experimenting with streaming on 17:23 Twitter or yeah Twitter and streaming on 17:26 YouTube because I didn't have access to 17:29 Tik Tok for a while and people seem to 17:31 like it so I'm I'm going to give it the 17:33 gippers try to actually shift to the 17:37 primary stream being on YouTube 17:41 um but what it's meant is it's meant 17:44 chaos like the mods haven't really known 17:46 what to do or where to go and and all 17:48 that sort of stuff so anyway so uh we we 17:53 at least have the beginnings of the mods 17:55 getting back on back on track you know 17:58 knowing what to do um I also want to 18:00 shout out Brandon who is my producer now 18:04 on streamyard so all of the mess ups 18:07 that I did last week because I was 18:08 trying to control everything he's gonna 18:10 actually be doing the switching so thank 18:12 you Brandon for that um and so and but 18:16 thank you all mods for your patience 18:17 because I know it's been a little bit of 18:19 chaos 18:21 um Brandon pointed out to me as before 18:24 we were going live tonight that this is 18:25 the AI learning lab and what do you do 18:27 in Labs you experiment and so all this 18:29 new streaming stuff different channels 18:32 is an experiment 18:35 so hopefully you bear with 18:38 me and this isn't too 18:41 painful um but it is new to me so if I 18:43 seem a 18:44 little a little off 18:48 [Music] 18:56 [Music] 19:06 do I plan to open an account on Twitch 19:08 fascinating 19:10 question 19:13 um 19:17 possible possible 19:21 I okay here's the 19:23 thing I have 19:26 spent two years coming up this month I 19:31 started my Tik Tok Channel end of 19:33 November or early 19:35 December 19:38 um Ive spent two years building that 19:42 channel and it is possible that the the 19:45 legislation that the US government 19:47 passed on Tik Tock says that as of 19:50 January 19th if they have not followed 19:53 whatever rules or whatever the [ __ ] they 19:55 were supposed to do they're banned so it 19:59 is possible that Tik Tok um goes away 20:02 from this country 20:05 um I only had about 400 followers on um 20:12 on 20:13 YouTube and that's now up to 500 because 20:16 I think a bunch of people from Tik Tok 20:17 came over and and subscribed there so 20:20 thank you for doing that I need to get 20:22 that to a thousand before I can do any 20:24 any of the sort of business kind of 20:25 stuff on it um so that's my goal for the 20:29 next month and a half has build that up 20:31 I could start twitch but I'll be 20:33 starting literally from a standing start 20:34 on Twitch um at least with YouTube I had 20:37 you know I've got you know 400 hours of 20:40 500 hours of content um for my Tik Tok 20:43 lives on there um I don't mind starting 20:46 over but it's it's a lot so so I don't 20:51 know it's possible it's possible so uh 20:55 we'll we'll we'll figure it out we will 20:58 figure it out 21:00 chaos theory in practice this is totally 21:02 chaos 21:03 [Music] 21:04 theory is that ocean I wish I could read 21:08 Arabic yeah I wish I I wish there was a 21:11 way that we could translate that there 21:13 probably is somewhere 21:21 [Music] 21:33 all right so folks on the Tik Tock 21:37 um in about three minutes four minutes 21:42 I'm going to be shutting down this 21:44 stream so we're flipping over we're live 21:47 now on YouTube and we're live now on X 21:50 so if you go to Kyle Shannon on X or if 21:55 you go to AI learninglab dtt on YouTube 22:00 and I'm sure by saying this out loud Tik 22:02 tok's going to shut down this 22:05 stream that's where we're going 22:09 live how about a Clapper feed yeah 22:12 exactly where do you prefer us to watch 22:17 um probably 22:19 YouTube I I'm thinking of YouTube as the 22:22 ultimate destination because that's 22:24 where the recordings are going to get 22:25 stored 22:27 however X is about to change their 22:30 algorithm and apparently they're going 22:32 to be prioritizing lives so I've got a 22:35 decent following on X I've got like 2700 22:39 followers on 22:41 X um I feel like YouTube is a decently 22:45 stagnated channel in fact David Shapiro 22:49 who deleted all of his YouTube content 22:53 um has been over on X for a month and um 22:58 he said the engage M there is through 22:59 the 23:00 roof um so again I don't know this is 23:04 all an experiment but I would say I 23:06 would say the place to the place to 23:08 watch the stream is whichever platform 23:10 you're more comfortable 23:12 with um the like the YouTube lives are 23:15 pretty good they have the comments going 23:17 down the side um any comments you make I 23:20 can see them Brandon can see them he'll 23:22 pin things to screen as he sees things 23:24 so if you've got questions for me um or 23:27 comments or projects that you're working 23:29 on that you want to talk about or if 23:31 there are things that you want to see 23:33 when I when I shut down the uh whatever 23:35 this is Tik Tok and just go over here 23:38 I'm going to start demoing some things 23:39 I've got a couple of ideas to play with 23:41 tonight but I'm also happy to talk about 23:43 what's going on the other thing I'll say 23:45 is this while I've still got Tik Tok 23:47 live and everyone else 23:50 live 23:52 tomorrow is election day go vote are you 23:56 going to vote like on Tik Tok give me 23:58 the the give me the tappity Taps if 24:01 you're going to vote or if you voted tap 24:03 it up um go vote go vote go vote I don't 24:09 give a [ __ ] who you vote for well I 24:12 do but it doesn't matter go vote go 24:15 [ __ ] vote and if you voted go see if 24:19 there's a neighbor that needs a ride to 24:20 the polls all right 24:23 [Music] 24:38 I haven't decided yet just decide in the 24:42 [Laughter] 24:44 booth let's see do I want utter 24:48 [Laughter] 24:50 chaos vote boring 24:54 [Music] 24:58 the YouTube is uh ai learninglab 25:03 dtt ai learning AI learninglab 25:07 dtt um let me see can I go to 25:16 [Music] 25:19 my I think it's if you click on my 25:23 profile there's a link tree there and 25:25 I'm pretty sure in my link tree is the 25:27 AI learning lab Tik Tok 25:31 [Music] 25:41 Channel but I heard there was a secret 25:45 [Music] 25:47 C David played at a place 25:52 love don't really care for music do you 26:02 goes like this the fourth the 26:05 fth M fall and major 26:09 Lift bful King 26:12 composing 26:16 hallelujah 26:20 hallelujah 26:23 hallelujah 26:27 hallelujah hallelujah 26:31 oh 26:32 [Music] 26:34 yeah all right all right so Tik Tock get 26:38 over there YouTube or X on x it's Kyle 26:44 Shannon not Kyle 26:47 Shanahan that's the coach of the 49ers 26:50 that's not me I have a degree in acting 26:51 I'm shitty at 26:53 football I tried to play it once I got 26:55 kicked in the ribs and I cried for two 26:57 weeks it's not it's not my game then I 27:00 went into the theater I'm like I like 27:01 these people better they don't kick as 27:06 hard and then on YouTube it's AI 27:08 learning laab dtt all right so that's 27:11 where we're live right 27:13 [Music] 27:18 now all right peace out Tick 27:23 Tock end now okay 27:27 so so that that's that so 27:31 now hang on I'm switching microphones 27:34 here there's a method to the madness but 27:37 not really it really is just true 27:39 [ __ ] 27:40 [Laughter] 27:43 Madness you know Kyle yeah I know 27:46 there's there's there's about 38 ways 27:48 this could be better I that I agree 27:52 with is that the microphone yes okay 27:55 that's that this goes here 27:59 boom and then over 28:02 here I go here I go here I go here I 28:09 go hello are you there all right that 28:13 seems a little 28:15 hot hello hello 28:18 hello hello is that better how's 28:23 that how's that Brandon what's that 28:26 sounding like 28:29 [Music] 28:42 still eating it a little what's that 28:45 mean it's too close too 28:51 hot is that 28:54 better sound check sound check that's 28:57 better all right 29:00 [Music] 29:13 fantastic all right fantastic Bob tell 29:18 him what he's won how many people we got 29:20 in here now we have got 35 29:24 folks we've got 35 folks 29:30 in the YouTube 17 on 29:33 Twitter all right hey Twitter people 29:35 what's happening probably two or three 29:37 of you over there going what the [ __ ] is 29:41 this at least YouTube you can go see all 29:43 the back the back the back videos and go 29:46 okay I see I kind of see what this 29:49 is all right so if you are new 29:54 here my name is Kyle Shannon this is the 29:56 AI learning lab we talk about AI stuff 29:59 here I go live generally five nights a 30:02 week uh starting around 8800 PM mountain 30:04 time I am taking off tomorrow for the 30:08 election you should take off tomorrow 30:10 for the election or you know at least 30:12 prioritize your your your afternoon and 30:15 evening around it if you don't vote in 30:16 the morning or if you haven't already 30:17 voted but go [ __ ] 30:19 vote and 30:21 uh and generally what we'll do is we'll 30:24 play around with some stuff and I've got 30:26 some ideas some things to put play 30:28 around with one thing that's kind of fun 30:31 let me see if I can go find 30:43 it let's see where 30:51 did oh please wait I can we can fix this 30:56 hold please 30:58 got a new 30:59 Banner 31:02 um Brandon where did you put the the 31:05 link to the 31:07 perplexity perplexity thing or maybe I 31:10 have it up here do I have it 31:12 running I don't think I opened it here 31:14 let's 31:17 see um 31:31 [Music] 31:44 by the way I will tell 31:46 you installed 31:49 the chat gbt extension for Chrome that 31:54 makes chat GPT search your default 31:56 search engine not happy with 31:59 [Laughter] 32:01 it uh here we go the elections 32:08 [Music] 32:14 tracker all right that's 32:17 there let's put that there 32:30 okay so if you go to perplexity 32:34 tocom 32:36 elections and you type in your ZIP code 32:41 that's my ZIP 32:43 code it just automatically pulls 32:47 up you know all of the people you have 32:50 to vote for information about them 32:52 sources about 32:54 them 32:56 um it even does things like am I am I in 33:01 yeah it even does things like um like 33:04 you know amendment I Amendment J 33:06 Amendment K so it's got all of the 33:08 different little amendments every one of 33:11 them you can go into it generates 33:14 content about 33:15 it what a yes vote means a yes vote on 33:18 Amendment K would result in either 33:20 deadlines for certain election filings 33:22 and a publication of ballot me measures 33:24 in newspapers specifically it would do 33:26 this do that if you've ever tried to 33:29 find like even just find me a voting 33:31 guide for my thing you can generally 33:34 find them but they're sometimes janky 33:35 there're sometimes out of date there're 33:37 sometimes you know 33:40 incomplete and you know this is 33:42 explaining it like the difference 33:45 between an AI search and a Google search 33:49 is the Google search says you [ __ ] 33:52 deal with 33:53 it you [ __ ] figure it out be like hey 33:57 hey yeah hey there I'm Google and uh I 34:01 have all the information but I'm not 34:02 going to give you all of it I'm just 34:04 going to point you to it then you go 34:05 figure it out okay okay okay oh hey by 34:08 the way most of the things I'm GNA point 34:11 you to is just SEO hacked [ __ ] 34:13 websites that lead to some sort of sales 34:16 funnel hope you 34:17 enjoy 34:19 um the new chat GPT search and 34:23 perplexity which you know was was here 34:26 first was in this space first 34:28 um is is kind of the next evolution of 34:31 search right where it actually just 34:32 [ __ ] answers your 34:34 questions so I think this thing is 34:37 pretty cool um thank you to I think it 34:40 was Brandon that pointed this out to me 34:42 that this came out today I wish it was 34:44 funny we my family voted last night and 34:48 we were trying we were using a 34:50 combination of Google I was trying to 34:51 use pie I was trying to and but my 34:55 family is loud and talky big surprise 34:58 and they were all over the place and 35:02 wait hang on let me just check in and 35:03 make sure I'm not screwing something 35:06 up don't forget to keep an eye it's in 35:09 the news channel on the spotlight 35:12 comments 35:13 okay let's see I think what I got to do 35:17 let me let me change something 35:26 here okay 35:32 there we go so so Brandon when you do a 35:34 spotlight Channel just send me a private 35:36 message that you did it just go check 35:38 now and then that should be I should see 35:41 movement out of the left corner of my 35:43 eye so okay anyway um 35:48 perplexity doai 35:51 slash what was it politics 35:59 elections perplexity D AI elction oh 36:06 look it's in our tracker it's in our 36:07 little it's in the it's in the 36:10 banner see what it's see see how much 36:12 better this is when we have someone 36:15 actually paying attention to it and not 36:17 me just trying to pull things out of my 36:22 butt okay 36:25 great um 36:29 I'm trying to think let me 36:32 see there 36:37 was Google learn about x-rays Claud oh 36:42 there's one thing I do want to go look 36:43 at with 36:45 you okay the other day I said to you all 36:49 that Claude can now do visual 36:53 PDFs yes 36:56 yes I'm going to start a new 36:59 chat and then when I went to do it it 37:03 didn't seem like it was doing it that's 37:08 because the new Claude visual PDF reader 37:13 thingy you actually have to turn it on 37:16 so you go click on your name in the 37:18 lower leand corner of the screen oh my 37:21 face is in the way there can I move that 37:24 no hang on I can do this 37:29 okay oh maybe this is better is this a 37:31 better 37:36 view this could be a better 37:41 view yeah I think this might be a better 37:50 view all right you know what Brandon 37:52 just take a note maybe we design a 37:54 little 37:55 frame that that is designed for this 37:58 view where we've got like AI learning 38:00 lab logo up here I don't know we'll 38:02 figure something out anyway 38:04 okay 38:07 um in order to turn on the new um the 38:12 new features in Claude you have to go to 38:13 this feature preview thing um open aai 38:17 did this for a while thank God they've 38:18 stopped it but Claude still does it so 38:21 visual PDFs is now a thing you have to 38:24 turn on so the other night when I was 38:26 trying to show it 38:29 um that was not turned on which is why 38:31 it didn't work but give Claude 3.5 sonup 38:35 the ability to view and analyze images 38:37 charts and graphs in PDFs in addition to 38:40 text PDFs are greater than or less than 38:42 a 100 pages are supported okay great so 38:45 and then also someone made made the 38:47 smart idea if I wanted a PDF to test to 38:50 go grab a patent so we'll go uh I think 38:53 it's patents. goole.com 39:01 yeah and I'll do Story 39:05 vine so I actually have a patent for 39:08 Story vine I've actually got like eight 39:10 but they're all the same thing just in 39:11 different countries Story vine got two 39:14 in the US for 39:16 this here we 39:19 go see I got I don't know what wo is US 39:25 Japan Korea Australia 39:28 forget what CA 39:31 is Malaysia Singapore so we got a we got 39:34 a bunch this is the Australian one let's 39:37 see story 39:41 us 39:49 um download 39:52 PDF that's Japan 39:55 okay well actually that's kind of 39:57 interesting does this have the pictures 39:59 in it it doesn't look like it 40:01 does all 40:02 right back to 40:09 results storyboard directed video 40:15 [Music] 40:20 production maybe story 40:22 minus all right 40:31 okay here we go inventor me download 40:35 PDF okay this has got pictures in it 40:39 beautiful look 40:42 pictures it's got pictures in it 40:46 okay so let's download 40:49 this true story my best friend's name in 40:52 kindergarten was Claude 41:00 that's pretty good all right we're GNA 41:03 go 41:07 grab oh save yeah so 41:12 wait 41:14 hang we'll save it to 41:17 desktop beautiful all right then we'll 41:20 go back to Claude okay now in theory 41:28 in 41:29 theory here's our US 41:36 Patent it's uploading it Max of 5 30 41:40 megabytes each it says it's a 41:42 PDF so I'm going to 41:44 say well wait let's go look 41:51 at nine drawing 41:54 sheets is that figure one 41:58 yeah and so figure 42:03 one all right so we'll go back here and 42:07 say can 42:10 you give me uh let's see give me a 42:15 short summary 42:19 of the 42:21 patent explain 42:28 figure 42:30 one 42:40 and tell 42:42 me why that is the 42:46 first 42:51 figure let's see what this does 43:03 let's break this 43:05 down figure one explanation it shows the 43:09 high level system architecture with 43:10 three main components story maker 43:13 systems asset coaching subsystem asset 43:17 asset audit subsystem and storybeat 43:21 data so this worked why it's figure one 43:26 the figure is placed first because it 43:28 provides the foundational overview of 43:30 the entire system's architecture it 43:32 shows how all the major components 43:34 interact so let's go look at another one 43:36 here we'll scroll 43:38 [Music] 43:40 down so this one has a picture of a 43:45 guy well that's funny that was the 43:47 original that was the original interface 43:49 for story 43:50 mind um 43:54 okay and what wait what figure was that 43:57 that was figure 44:00 six 44:03 um which image has the picture of the 44:10 guy 44:12 and what is what 44:18 does that 44:21 image represent 44:28 figure six shows an interface with a 44:31 person's face it appears to be a 44:33 screenshot of the asset Co coaching 44:35 interface that helps guide users story 44:37 makers in creating their video content 44:41 it shows a main viewing area 44:43 navigational 44:46 controls it's the first figure because 44:49 it's got a one by it P mod coming in 44:52 strong 44:57 first shall be the number the number 44:59 shall be number 45:02 one um a region labeled Joe's shop a 45:06 coaching prompt text area various 45:09 navigation and progress indicators 45:12 timeline story beat indicators showing 45:14 progress through different 45:20 segments okay now let's do something 45:24 fun I want you to 45:28 create a 45:32 poem 45:34 poem where 45:37 each is it verse stanza is a stanza just 45:41 a line in the vers is like the four 45:44 lines I 45:47 forget I don't well we'll say we'll see 45:49 this where where each 45:51 verse set of four 45:55 lines cuz cuz I don't know but that's 45:58 okay we'll we'll let the large language 46:00 model fig figure out how poetry 46:05 works okay if you want to create a poem 46:08 where each verse set of four lines oh I 46:11 want you to create a poem where each is 46:16 um um rep 46:19 resents one 46:22 of what represents the images in order 46:29 so by 46:32 reading the 46:35 poem I will 46:39 know what each of the 46:44 figures in the 46:49 patent 46:50 means because why 46:54 not let's see if it can do it okay so 46:57 let's look at our figures while it's 46:58 writing the poem so we got figure one is 47:01 the arch system 47:03 architecture figure 47:09 two is the 47:11 workflow the production workf flow oh 47:14 it's prior art okay cool oh yeah yeah 47:17 are this this patent is based on 47:19 Flipping traditional video production 47:21 upside down so figure 47:25 three is 47:32 where we're reordering [ __ ] figure 47:35 four I don't know what the [ __ ] it is 47:38 which is good figure figure five this is 47:42 I didn't realize our our our humble 47:44 little system was this [ __ ] 47:45 complicated I mean I did make all this 47:48 [ __ ] but you 47:51 know oh good lord all right let's see if 47:55 oh oh look and it made it it made it in 47:57 a lovely um what you call it figure one 48:01 the system stole story maker meets the 48:03 cloud above through coaches audits data 48:05 flows to agency's tripartite Grove good 48:10 Lord what a nice word we're board audit 48:13 and render shows figure two the ways of 48:16 old phase by phase the traditional chain 48:19 from concept through rendered site each 48:22 expert adding to the strain till single 48:25 single video comes to light 48:28 that's that's what that figure is that 48:31 figure is look how [ __ ] complicated 48:33 video production is figure three the the 48:36 new design front-loaded wisdom sets the 48:39 stage Rich storyboard directs the flow 48:42 from concept to rendered page multiple 48:45 stories now can grow this is really 48:49 good two Story vines share common ground 48:52 asset flow from Vine to vine efficiency 48:55 profound is found 48:58 and shared resources 49:00 intertwine the working part subsystems 49:03 dance in careful ways specs and rules 49:05 flow back and forth through audit checks 49:08 and rendering days till approved stories 49:11 Venture forth oh this basically says 49:14 once videos come into the system you can 49:15 approve them um system six figure six 49:19 the coaching screen is that that one 49:21 with the face here's Joe's shops comes 49:23 into view a face a prompt a guiding hand 49:26 teaching makers what to do making 49:29 complex tasks more 49:31 Grand this 49:33 is this is quite 49:37 remarkable this is quite 49:44 remarkable I mean it really 49:47 is let's go get um 50:00 any if you have oh by the way if you've 50:02 got questions did I miss a spotlight I 50:05 think I 50:07 did hang on let me come over here and 50:10 look smash that like button do me a 50:13 favor if you're new here to the channel 50:16 my goal in the next month is to get I'm 50:20 I'm right now at 500 followers on 50:22 YouTube and like 2700 on Twitter if 50:26 you're either on Twitter or on YouTube 50:28 please follow my channel subscribe to 50:30 the channel because I need to get to a 50:32 thousand followers on YouTube before I 50:34 can start doing business 50:36 stuff um search results let's see is 50:42 this the I want the 50:45 PDF attention is all you need download 50:48 the 50:51 PDF okay so here is the seminal paper 51:01 Ilia 51:02 sover there's there's one of the Heroes 51:06 all 51:09 right if you don't know this 51:16 paper khaki give him a like too that's 51:19 it khaki thank you all right I'm going 51:22 back to the private 51:26 chat 51:29 beautiful okay 51:33 so let's go to a new 51:38 chat we're going to upload attention is 51:41 all you 51:43 need this is it right 51:46 yep 51:48 so this gets kind of meta now not meta 51:52 the company with the shitty goggles and 51:55 the the bad metaverse that named their 51:57 whole company after that thing not that 52:00 one just meta as in the concept like 52:04 [ __ ] with like the 52:06 Matrix so this paper that I just 52:09 uploaded into here is the foundation for 52:12 how all this [ __ ] works all this 52:14 generative AI 52:15 stuff with very little exception is 52:18 using Transformer architecture to be 52:21 able to do this remarkable stuff so 52:23 we're going to understand this paper now 52:26 because 52:28 of the concepts in this paper 52:34 huh I think I'm gonna just flip I think 52:37 I'm so Brandon just so you know I I 52:39 don't have oh wait I can move this phone 52:41 because it's 52:42 not it's not doing [ __ ] anymore other 52:45 than receiving my audio so we can lower 52:48 that so if you give me a private chat 52:50 now I'll see it Brandon um but I'm I'm 52:54 looking at the comments as they come in 52:56 as well 52:57 all 53:01 right beautiful that's that that's good 53:05 Okay so we've got this PDF in there I'm 53:08 GNA 53:11 say I have 53:16 ADHD and am not very 53:24 technical explain this 53:28 paper in a way that will make me give a 53:34 [Laughter] 53:38 [ __ ] yeah yeah we're having fun here see 53:41 yeah yeah y paluca yeah what's that 53:46 say let's break it down no I 53:50 don't ad and D can be 53:53 challenging oh oh this is cool it's so 53:57 this is comparing the Transformer 53:59 paper to ADHD imagine you're trying to 54:03 have a conversation with a group of 54:04 friends but because of your ADHD it can 54:07 be challenging to follow multiple people 54:09 talking at the same time or maintain 54:11 focus on Long stories yeah that sounds 54:13 like my life you might find yourself 54:15 jumping between different speakers 54:16 trying to piece everything together 54:18 before this paper came out in 2017 AI 54:21 language models were kind of like that 54:23 too they had to process one word at a 54:25 time in order which was slow and 54:29 sometimes missed important connections 54:30 it's like having to listen to a story 54:33 word by 54:39 word 54:42 um and being able to Jump Ahead or look 54:45 back the big innovation they created 54:47 something called the Transformer that 54:50 can look at all parts of a sentence at 54:53 once okay I didn't know that that I have 54:56 learned something new today like being 54:58 able to scan an entire paragraph 55:00 instantly and see how all the words 55:02 connect to each other for someone with 55:04 ADHD imagine having a superpower to 55:07 instantly understand how everything in a 55:09 conversation fits together without 55:11 having to maintain focus on a linear 55:13 stream of information ah that makes 55:16 sense then why these things get better 55:18 when you throw more data and more 55:19 compute at them the GameChanger the 55:22 system uses something called 55:24 attention it's like having multiple spot 55:26 spotlights that can shine on different 55:28 parts of a sentence 55:29 simultaneously each Spotlight can f 55:32 focus on different aspects like grammar 55:34 meaning or context this is actually 55:36 similar similar to how ADHD brains often 55:40 Excel this is cool that it compared to 55:43 that okay so now let's go look 55:45 at the 55:53 pitches this one this is the one they 55:57 show sometimes right the Transformer 55:59 model 56:01 architecture 56:03 okay figure 56:08 one 56:13 explain each of the 56:19 figures in 56:20 a 56:23 uh single paragraph 56:36 each figure one this shows the overall 56:39 design of the Transformer like a 56:40 blueprint imagine it's a two-sided 56:42 machine the left side the encoder reads 56:45 and understands the input while the 56:47 right side the decoder creates the 56:48 output both sides are made up of stacked 56:51 layers of 56:52 process information through something 56:54 called attention the little yellow box 56:58 okay oh these little add a norm add a 57:01 norm add a norm there's your attention 57:03 see this is why you got to be have a 57:06 degree in mathematics to understand this 57:08 because it's like oh wait no here 57:10 multi-headed attention these Yellow 57:11 Boxes 57:15 fine and feed forward to the networks 57:17 the blue boxes the arrow shows how 57:19 information flows through the 57:21 system the attention mechanism diagrams 57:24 these figure shows the Transformer pays 57:26 attention to information scale. product 57:29 attention all right whatever listen for 57:33 for those of you on the planet that can 57:37 read a paper like this and understand 57:39 what the [ __ ] they're talking about or 57:42 even more impressive if you're one of 57:44 these people that wrote this [ __ ] thank 57:47 you from the bottom of my heart because 57:51 this 57:52 invention I is is seemingly the 57:55 Breakthrough um 57:57 that that frees up the past 50 or 60 58:01 years of neural network research and 58:04 allows us to play 58:06 so if if you're if you're those people 58:10 thumbs 58:11 up I will just be the beneficiary of 58:14 your work and I will gladly take 58:20 it you know it's funny when I was 58:22 looking at the early the early stuff 58:25 that Tim burner Lee put out on on the 58:28 worldwide web and 58:29 HTTP it it while it was geeky it was 58:33 much more straightforward this is some 58:35 real badass real [ __ ] 58:39 math this is oh let's see if uh I think 58:43 hang on let me go look at in 58:47 Claude yeah latex rendering so it does 58:50 math real good so let's say 58:55 um show 58:58 me one of the 59:01 core 59:04 meth isn't it mathematical mathematical 59:08 no yes 59:10 mathematical 59:11 [Music] 59:13 um 59:15 formulas and explain it in my 59:21 ADHD 59:23 metaphor let's see if it does some good 59:26 Ma math 59:27 rendering yeah there you go attention Q 59:31 to the K to the V equals soft 59:34 Max Q qk to the T over the square root 59:39 of DK to times V of the soft Max exactly 59:45 all right let me explain this imagine 59:48 you're at a big party this is your input 59:51 text okay and you're trying to follow 59:53 different conversations here's how the 59:55 formula Maps 59:57 Q the query is your current Focus what 1:00:01 you're currently trying to understand 1:00:02 right now it's similar to when someone 1:00:05 catches your attention and you think 1:00:07 wait what's this 1:00:08 about K is the 1:00:13 key like your memory of all the 1:00:15 conversations happening the things you 1:00:17 could potentially pay attention to all 1:00:20 right so here's what I'm paying 1:00:21 attention to here's what I could pay 1:00:22 attention 1:00:24 to when you multiply Q and K together 1:00:27 that's the qk to the T part over 1:00:32 here it's like your brain deciding how 1:00:35 relevant is each piece of information 1:00:37 I'm focusing on that's pretty 1:00:39 cool all right here's what I'm focusing 1:00:42 on here's all the [ __ ] I could focus 1:00:45 on is the [ __ ] I'm focusing on the [ __ ] 1:00:48 I should be focusing on that actually 1:00:50 makes sense to me now I did not know 1:00:52 this fine V is the ual information you 1:00:57 want to remember once you know what's 1:00:59 relevant you pay more attention to those 1:01:01 parts okay got it here's what I'm 1:01:04 looking at here's all the [ __ ] I could 1:01:06 look at here's the [ __ ] that's 1:01:08 important got 1:01:10 it the the square root of DK part 1:01:14 dividing by the square root is like 1:01:17 having a volume control for your 1:01:20 attention without it everything might 1:01:22 feel too intense or too overwhelming so 1:01:24 it's like in acting school they taught 1:01:27 us if you try to make every word in the 1:01:30 sentence important then the sentence is 1:01:35 meaningless if every word in the 1:01:38 sentence is important then nothing is 1:01:42 important it's weird 1:01:45 right but if you go like everything in 1:01:48 the sentence is important or everything 1:01:51 in the sentence is important two totally 1:01:55 different things so that's what that's 1:01:56 talking 1:01:58 about so so so this is the volume slider 1:02:02 right listen less listen less to the 1:02:05 [ __ ] that's not 1:02:07 important the soft ma Max function is 1:02:10 your brain's way of organizing 1:02:11 priorities it takes all of those 1:02:13 potential things you could focus on and 1:02:16 helps you distribute your attention 1:02:18 across them so in ADHD terms this whole 1:02:21 formula is like your brain going what am 1:02:24 I trying to understand right now how 1:02:25 does that really to everything else I 1:02:27 know let me turn down the overwhelm a 1:02:30 bit okay now I can focus more on the 1:02:32 relevant stuff soft Max and now I can 1:02:35 absorb what's actually important 1:02:38 V so the attention is all you 1:02:43 need paper is a lot like an ADHD brain P 1:02:47 are you here I feel so I feel so 1:02:54 Vindicated I want to learn how to turn 1:02:56 turn down the overwhelm Kyle I know you 1:02:58 and me both Vicky if everything is bold 1:03:01 nothing is bold exactly I think you 1:03:05 should change the background to include 1:03:06 a Pulpit so when you go to the miniature 1:03:09 screen of yourself it looks like you're 1:03:11 preaching to us hallelujah Brethren 1:03:14 let's turn this into a [ __ ] 1:03:16 cult let's do 1:03:19 it I have been disappointed lately with 1:03:22 some of the math stuff using preview 01 1:03:25 that's interesting 1:03:27 um hang on there's some private chatty 1:03:29 chats here I'm 1:03:31 missing you missed the spotlight I'll 1:03:33 put it 1:03:34 up all right okay so I'm not sure if you 1:03:38 get the answer for this question AI is 1:03:40 almost Perfection so how 1:03:43 will impact in our satisfaction and 1:03:47 acceptance to ourselves 1:03:49 um that's a great 1:03:53 question that's a great question I'm 1:03:55 trying to think where to 1:03:57 go what to put on screen now oh you know 1:04:00 what 1:04:02 here I will do 1:04:05 this 1:04:08 um 1:04:12 okay you always ask really good 1:04:14 philosophical questions I wish I knew 1:04:16 your name I think it's ocean but if it's 1:04:18 if it's not I apologize but um you ask 1:04:22 you ask really good questions 1:04:29 okay where I've been for the past two 1:04:33 years on this 1:04:36 question is 1:04:44 that the AI that we're about to get is 1:04:48 going to change this answer I think but 1:04:50 maybe it won't but I think it's going to 1:04:53 and that's why I think I've been in this 1:04:54 weird funk for a while 1:04:57 but the AI that we've been playing with 1:04:59 since November 30th 2022 the launch of 1:05:02 chat 1:05:05 GPT has 1:05:08 been janky enough and bad enough that it 1:05:12 still really requires our 1:05:17 participation 1:05:19 and even though it's incredibly 1:05:22 impressive and it can do things really 1:05:24 fast it still does them perfectly and I 1:05:27 guess this is sort of what your 1:05:28 question's getting 1:05:29 to assuming that these things get to 1:05:33 perfect like like right now I'm working 1:05:36 on this musical 1:05:42 and it's the amount of human 1:05:46 work the amount of human work that us 1:05:49 humans are having to put into this 1:05:52 musical is significantly higher than I 1:05:54 thought it would be right AI can get us 1:05:57 to 80% but that last 20% is really more 1:06:00 like 80% because you just want to get it 1:06:02 right you want to get the story right 1:06:04 you want to get the songs right the AI 1:06:06 song generators are kind of like eh you 1:06:09 know the writing tools are kind of like 1:06:11 eh sometimes it does it perfectly and 1:06:13 you're like oh great I can do it all 1:06:14 with this and then you try to do it and 1:06:16 it [ __ ] everything up you're like oh 1:06:18 God I gotta go manually edit all this 1:06:20 [ __ ] it created 1:06:23 right that said 1:06:26 the AI like my experience in doing this 1:06:29 Channel and my experience in working 1:06:31 with people in the AI Salon which by the 1:06:33 way let's put that up on screen as a 1:06:36 matter of 1:06:47 fact if you have not joined the AI Salon 1:06:50 go go join that I'll leave that up on 1:06:53 screen and I'll do 1:06:58 do this version of it there we 1:07:04 go my experience with people in the AI 1:07:08 Salon 1:07:09 Community is 1:07:12 that the thing that AI really does 1:07:16 well and I think the reason people get 1:07:19 so excited and when people have their 1:07:21 Kevin mallister moment they're oh my God 1:07:24 I didn't know I could do that 1:07:28 it allows you to get ideas out of your 1:07:30 head incredibly quickly and the minute 1:07:33 you get it out of your head and you can 1:07:34 see it 1:07:35 objectively you can judge it you can 1:07:38 curate it you can refine it you can 1:07:40 throw it out you can say oh my God 1:07:43 that's the best idea I've ever 1:07:45 had and so it's this Humanity amplifier 1:07:48 and it's and because the tools are 1:07:54 imperfect it's like 1:07:56 rather than exploring one idea over the 1:07:59 course of a week or two now I'm 1:08:00 exploring 30 ideas or 50 or a 100 and 1:08:04 it's just 1:08:07 exhilarating it still requires us to do 1:08:10 a lot of the work now the the question 1:08:13 of so I think it's more than just if if 1:08:17 if these tools get perfect or if they 1:08:19 have a level of per Perfection to 1:08:22 them it's really what we're about to see 1:08:24 so in in open AIS 1:08:30 um five levels of AGI so AGI you know 1:08:33 stands for artificial general 1:08:35 intelligence that's the point at which 1:08:37 these machines become as good or better 1:08:40 than most of us at most jobs at doing 1:08:43 the jobs not just being able to do 1:08:46 certain tasks within a job but actually 1:08:48 doing the jobs and so the five levels 1:08:52 are chatbots which that we've had for 1:08:54 two years 1:08:56 level two AGI is reasoning so the 01 1:08:59 preview model which is this really 1:09:01 crappy sort of proof of concept that in 1:09:05 a lot of cases is solving problems at 1:09:08 PhD levels that exists 1:09:11 now um anthropic just launched 1:09:14 autonomous agents in the form of 1:09:17 computer use where it can use your 1:09:19 computer can surf the Internet and click 1:09:22 on things and fill in 1:09:24 forms those three are the hardest and 1:09:27 they're all kind of here in shitty 1:09:29 versions like the chat Bots have gotten 1:09:31 really good but they're still 1:09:33 janky the reasoning stuff is primarily 1:09:37 just with open AI right now um I think 1:09:40 an open source thing came out that kind 1:09:41 of replicates it I know David Shapiro 1:09:43 was working on one of those called 1:09:47 raspberry because they did project 1:09:50 strawberry the agents we haven't seen 1:09:52 the agent from open AI yet but I suspect 1:09:55 that we may see that 1:09:56 you know if not before the end of the 1:09:58 year early in 2025 and then you've got 1:10:01 innovators and inventors and you've got 1:10:03 organizations so those are the five 1:10:06 innovators are really just combinations 1:10:08 of these three and organizations are 1:10:11 combinations of innovators right so so 1:10:15 the hardest three are the three that 1:10:17 we've effectively solved in 1:10:23 2024 so it's not just that these things 1:10:25 are going to get be able to write a good 1:10:28 musical for us it's they're going to be 1:10:29 able to write a good musical for us and 1:10:32 then go pitch it to producers and get it 1:10:36 financed and book a theater do all this 1:10:40 stuff right like now how how soon is it 1:10:44 from where we are until these machines 1:10:46 are just doing [ __ ] for us I don't know 1:10:50 um three years five years but some you 1:10:53 know on two hands countable number of 1:10:55 years years at that 1:10:58 point do we go into sort of existential 1:11:01 weirdness because these things are so 1:11:05 far beyond our capacity that we just 1:11:08 treat them like some other species and 1:11:11 we're over here like ants just sort of 1:11:14 dancing and playing guitar maybe maybe 1:11:17 dancing and playing guitar becomes the 1:11:20 real valuable thing in society because 1:11:23 the machines are off doing all the [ __ ] 1:11:24 we used to do I don't I don't know it's 1:11:26 a great question anyway all right if 1:11:29 you've not been to the 1:11:32 salon let 1:11:41 me let me show 1:11:47 you the salon 1:11:50 so when you come into the salon 1:11:59 you should land on this page which is a 1:12:01 welcome video from myself and Leah 1:12:03 fasten who founded it and then you'll 1:12:07 quickly see our our little journey our 1:12:10 journey to AI literacy play first 1:12:12 mindfully create and generously 1:12:15 lead 1:12:18 um like of all the of all the things 1:12:21 that I've done in the past you know few 1:12:23 years articulate 1:12:26 this journey is is is one of the things 1:12:29 I'm most proud of because this wasn't 1:12:31 something we 1:12:32 invented this was something that we 1:12:36 experienced people in the salon doing 1:12:40 right they play they come in and they 1:12:42 play with AI and they they play with 1:12:45 each other and they and they put groups 1:12:47 together and they they do guilds and 1:12:49 they do classes and they just do [ __ ] 1:12:52 and then they build stuff they mindfully 1:12:54 create stuff they in playing they 1:12:58 learn and then once they learn some 1:13:00 stuff they're like oh you know what we 1:13:01 could do we could go solve this problem 1:13:03 or we can go make these things for 1:13:05 nonprofits and then all the while 1:13:07 they're doing that they're generously 1:13:09 leading and and what that basically 1:13:11 means is they're they're learning out 1:13:13 loud they're sharing what what they're 1:13:15 learning and what they're not learning 1:13:18 and where they're frustrated and what 1:13:20 works and what doesn't work that's who 1:13:22 this group is so the first thing you do 1:13:25 when you come in here is just like see 1:13:27 what we're about and and see if you dig 1:13:29 it and then if if that seems kind of 1:13:32 cool introduce yourself so come into 1:13:34 this area called introduce yourself and 1:13:36 do just that so it looks like Nolan 1:13:39 introduced 1:13:40 himself great hopefully Nolan's here 1:13:43 tonight then learn our 1:13:45 values curiosity playfulness empathy 1:13:49 bravery generosity this is It's the the 1:13:52 people in here are remarkable um you can 1:13:55 Watch past meetings to sort of get a 1:13:57 sense of the personality of the joint 1:13:59 you can RSVP for our next event our next 1:14:02 event was supposed to be tomorrow um 1:14:05 because it's the first Friday of or the 1:14:07 first Tuesday of the month but it's 1:14:08 election night and it's a big one so 1:14:10 we're gonna we're gonna let let that 1:14:12 take precedence so we're not meeting 1:14:14 tomorrow night but first and third 1:14:16 Tuesdays of every month and then you can 1:14:19 jump into the the water cooler chat 1:14:22 section and just chat about anything AI 1:14:25 and then you know we ask you to help us 1:14:27 grow like go to our socials and talk us 1:14:29 up and and do things like that and then 1:14:31 there's all sorts of cool sections in 1:14:33 here you know uh Community corner is all 1:14:37 about the salon here's the latest news 1:14:40 um the showand tell section is quite 1:14:42 remarkable if you go into for example 1:14:43 the images showand tell section you can 1:14:46 see all the cool images people are doing 1:14:48 in the in the salon but what you can 1:14:51 also see is here's a list of tools 1:14:56 image tools that if you want to go start 1:14:58 playing with this image stuff there's 1:14:59 some to go play with and then you can 1:15:01 also ask questions and talk about it and 1:15:03 share things all 1:15:06 right and then there's guilds and even 1:15:09 this group the people that show up here 1:15:11 night after night after night are called 1:15:13 the Irregulars we've got our own little 1:15:14 club called the AI L Irregulars and we 1:15:18 can talk to one another and chat and do 1:15:21 all sorts of stuff like that so that's 1:15:23 the salon so if you have not joined the 1:15:25 Salon go join the salon go to that 1:15:30 address wait 1:15:33 no that that 1:15:35 address go to that 1:15:37 address and click on the button that 1:15:39 says join our community and that'll take 1:15:41 you over to that to that site all 1:15:44 right beautiful 1:15:47 beautiful fantastic 1:15:50 Bob let's see 1:15:57 this one you get to show 1:16:01 tell 1 hour and 60 views okay 1:16:04 beautiful 1:16:07 beautiful all right what do I want to do 1:16:14 now hold please 1:16:19 [Music] 1:16:39 pect all 1:16:42 right so that was something I wanted to 1:16:44 show you was all that Claude 1:16:48 stuff but I mean isn't it remarkable 1:16:51 that we now live in a world where you 1:16:54 can take 1:16:56 a 1:16:57 paper like attention is all you 1:17:01 need 1:17:04 and or attention is all you 1:17:07 need and actually understand it even if 1:17:10 you don't have a math degree like that 1:17:11 kind of felt 1:17:13 like like talking to Claude right there 1:17:15 asking it to explain it kind of felt 1:17:20 like talking to a really 1:17:23 patient math expert 1:17:26 right like a really good professor would 1:17:28 just walk you through it in a way that 1:17:30 you could relate to 1:17:32 it 1:17:38 amazing and I know now I now 1:17:44 know what this math formula 1:17:47 means I think that's pretty 1:17:52 remarkable oh I picked the wrong thingy 1:17:56 there we 1:17:59 go what other 1:18:01 thoughts I wrote about it's a matter of 1:18:04 time before one of these systems like 1:18:06 chat gbt got put in a 1:18:13 robot get my [ __ ] financed exactly get 1:18:17 my Broadway show financed damn it you 1:18:20 things I mentioned the AI Salon today in 1:18:22 my article great fantastic so go tap 1:18:25 your little finger on my article and 1:18:26 give it likes very nice yeah pop your 1:18:29 pop the URL in the in the chat there 1:18:31 making this trend I hate writing but I 1:18:33 love telling 1:18:35 stories well I'll tell you what making 1:18:37 this trend have have chat GPT or Claude 1:18:39 or or one of these things help you right 1:18:42 there's no [ __ ] shame in it here okay 1:18:44 this is wait wait wait this is important 1:18:56 the next time someone asks you if you 1:18:58 used AI to write that tell them to [ __ ] 1:19:05 off because here's my here's my 1:19:10 philosophy and this has been evolving 1:19:13 but but there was something about AI 1:19:15 detectors that bugged the [ __ ] out of me 1:19:17 to begin 1:19:18 with but the more the more I understood 1:19:21 them and the more I understood the 1:19:23 purpose of them the purpose of them is 1:19:28 just there's a new scary 1:19:30 technology and I want to know if you're 1:19:33 using that thing that scares me or not 1:19:35 that's the only purpose of 1:19:38 it they'll argue that it's plagiarism 1:19:40 and [ __ ] like that but it's not really 1:19:42 that it's just that they're afraid of it 1:19:43 and this is like this happened when 1:19:45 digital cameras came out this happened 1:19:47 when calculators came out this happened 1:19:49 when computers came out this happened 1:19:51 when steam engines came out this 1:19:52 happened when the printing press came 1:19:53 out this happened when the autom Loom 1:19:55 came 1:19:58 out there's always this fear of this 1:20:02 thing my experience and and the 1:20:05 experience I've seen with people that 1:20:07 use AI critically like with critical 1:20:12 thinking is that the AI isn't doing 1:20:15 everything the AI is is helping you 1:20:19 articulate an idea and it's maybe 1:20:21 helping you organize your thoughts and 1:20:23 it's putting together an outline and it 1:20:24 might even be writing the first draft 1:20:27 but in the end you're the one putting 1:20:30 your name on it and putting it in the 1:20:33 world and if I look at the musical that 1:20:36 I'm working on with the exception of the 1:20:37 songs that right now all live in they 1:20:40 were all produced by suo or udio but at 1:20:42 some point here really shortly we're 1:20:44 going to bring on a music director 1:20:47 that's G to take all those songs and and 1:20:49 evolve them and they're still going to 1:20:51 be those songs but they're now not going 1:20:53 to be just created by AI they're going 1:20:56 to be co-created with humans and same 1:20:59 with the story and same with the 1:21:01 characters and same with all of 1:21:05 it so the musical that I'm working on 1:21:08 right now today I I literally couldn't 1:21:12 tell you where the boundary is between 1:21:15 what was created with AI and what was 1:21:17 created by a human it it's completely 1:21:21 intermingled and there's no other 1:21:23 technology 1:21:26 that that requires us to disclose that 1:21:30 we use 1:21:31 it you know no one says to 1:21:34 you um which word processor did you use 1:21:38 when you wrote this did you use spell 1:21:42 check did you use grammarly because if 1:21:45 you used grammarly then I know the 1:21:49 robots are are the reason I can read 1:21:51 this no one asks that but they're asking 1:21:55 about AI 1:21:57 so if you're putting your name on it 1:21:59 that should be enough this is the thing 1:22:02 I wrote this is the thing I'm putting 1:22:03 into the world do you like it and if you 1:22:06 did something 1:22:08 shitty like shitty quality or if you did 1:22:11 something shitty like just took the 1:22:13 output of an AI That's inaccurate and 1:22:15 put it in the world and stuck your name 1:22:17 on it like that lawyer did when he 1:22:19 handed a a legal brief to a judge that 1:22:23 that had fake citations in it that's on 1:22:26 that [ __ ] idiot 1:22:27 lawyer it's not on 1:22:31 AI and so the the response to did you 1:22:34 use AI to do this is it's none of your 1:22:36 [ __ ] 1:22:37 business is it 1:22:41 good do you like it or not and if you do 1:22:45 great and if not awesome I'm sure 1:22:47 there's someone else in the world 1:22:48 that'll make some crap you 1:22:50 like anyway 1:22:58 making the trend I put it on Irregulars 1:23:00 yeah I used AI to help me write it I'm 1:23:01 on day three yeah exactly yeah they yeah 1:23:05 what if if you tell someone yeah I used 1:23:08 AI to help me write it in their mind 1:23:10 what it means is you pushed a button and 1:23:11 out squirted all that [ __ ] that's not 1:23:14 how it works you're on day three because 1:23:16 you want to put your name on it or 1:23:18 you've put your name on it but you want 1:23:20 it to be good enough that like it can 1:23:22 stand on its own with your name on it 1:23:24 and have you be proud of of it great 1:23:27 irrelevant what tool you irrelevant so 1:23:31 anyway kudos to 1:23:35 you Kyle let me put a simple expression 1:23:38 how I feel about AI how AI has changed 1:23:41 my life sounds like a commercial I know 1:23:43 it gives you wings it does it does it 1:23:46 it's a Humanity amplifier is is how I 1:23:49 describe it when the wheel was invented 1:23:53 yeah exactly you know how scared people 1:23:55 of the wheel when they invented the 1:23:56 wheel people were like you know that 1:23:58 thing's going to squash you I mean I 1:23:59 don't think they had language but you 1:24:01 know they were 1:24:03 [Laughter] 1:24:10 like they they created the anti- whe 1:24:13 [Laughter] 1:24:15 Coalition how did you get that how did 1:24:17 you get that grain here did you did you 1:24:21 did you use Wheels to get that here like 1:24:24 we would you would never think to ask 1:24:27 that today but there was some point 1:24:30 where they were like Wheels bad did you 1:24:33 use Wheels we don't want your stupid 1:24:35 grain you Carri it on your back like a 1:24:38 real 1:24:39 man don't don't 1:24:41 use don't use those simple 1:24:46 discs and they were probably asking 1:24:48 questions like well if you use a wheel 1:24:50 are we all going to get weak because 1:24:52 you're not carrying things on your back 1:24:54 anymore 1:24:56 I mean I I 1:24:58 I'm I I can absolutely imagine that 1:25:02 that's the kind of [ __ ] they would have 1:25:08 asked crazy [ __ ] 1:25:13 times crazy the anti- whe Coalition 1:25:17 Chiefs 1:25:19 win that dude's amazing Patrick Mahomes 1:25:25 got to 1:25:28 scroll what part of the GPT Chrome 1:25:30 extension is it that you're not crazy 1:25:32 about okay here so let 1:25:35 me let me show 1:25:39 you boom okay so we're gonna go to a new 1:25:43 chat so if I go to Google and I type 1:25:47 in um all right now I can find that c 1:25:56 I know I know there's a site called 1:25:57 kaggle I gotta find it if I'm on Google 1:26:00 oh see hang on I didn't type it in the 1:26:03 right place 1:26:08 kaggle boom first thing that comes up is 1:26:11 a link to the site kaggle and then I go 1:26:13 to it and now I'm at kaggle so it's 1:26:14 really 1:26:18 quick and and how I tend to use my 1:26:21 default search in the browser is to find 1:26:25 [ __ ] to click on and then and what I 1:26:28 realized is if I type in kaggle here and 1:26:33 it defaults to chat GPT the first thing 1:26:35 it does is it loads chat GPT my 1:26:38 immediate response to that is oh [ __ ] 1:26:42 was that a did I make a mistake because 1:26:46 it loads chat 1:26:48 GPT and and actually it looks like they 1:26:50 just added this links popup window so so 1:26:54 I can now go to kaggle but the 1:26:56 difference in speed between Google and 1:27:00 chat GPT was chat GPT had to load chat 1:27:03 gbt then do the search then it wrote 1:27:06 this whole [ __ ] thing and then it 1:27:09 popped up this sources window which is 1:27:11 smart of them to do because they 1:27:12 probably recognized oh this guy just 1:27:14 wants to go to a site so this is a this 1:27:16 is a direct competition to 1:27:21 Google 1:27:23 um but also so let's see if I just do if 1:27:26 I go to Google and I just say 1:27:29 um Chief's 1:27:34 game boom instant there it is 24 to 30 1:27:39 Chiefs win they got six in 1:27:43 overtime must have been a good [ __ ] 1:27:45 game here's all the 1:27:46 clips bang boom instant now if I go up 1:27:50 here and I go Chief's game 1:27:56 I will probably get something 1:28:03 relevant the game ended in the 24 24 24 1:28:08 tie after overtime no as they went into 1:28:10 overtime this is not even 1:28:13 correct it did not end in a 2424 tie 1:28:18 that's incorrect 1:28:23 [Laughter] 1:28:29 so so there's some hallucination for you 1:28:32 that's not even hallucination that's 1:28:34 just it probably just 1:28:35 pulled different it pulled 1:28:37 information no it is hallucination 1:28:39 because it's it's not after overtime it 1:28:43 didn't end in a tie 1:28:45 so so it's really just the fact that I'm 1:28:48 expecting it to just give me results and 1:28:50 what it does is it takes me to chat GPT 1:28:53 then chat GPT searches then chat gbt 1:28:56 writes something then it gives me 1:28:58 something I feel like when I'm when I'm 1:29:01 in chat GPT and I want to do a search I 1:29:05 I I I would likely be searching for 1:29:07 something different I would likely be 1:29:08 searching for like um 1:29:12 compare 1:29:16 um Story 1:29:21 vine and 1:29:27 mjh life sciences and tell me if you 1:29:32 think they might make good 1:29:38 partners and so now it's searching the 1:29:41 web so it's search 1:29:42 storyvine storyvine and MJ Life Sciences 1:29:46 operate in a distinct yet complimentary 1:29:48 sectors within the healthcare industry 1:29:50 storyvine specializes in guided video 1:29:53 production 1:29:55 mjh is the largest whatever they've got 1:29:58 a portfolio of 60 Brands so basically 1:30:01 says yes they it would be cool for them 1:30:02 to work together and the sources are the 1:30:05 storyvine website and the mja life 1:30:08 sciences website so 1:30:11 like this this I love but like that's 1:30:14 generally not a search that I'm doing if 1:30:17 I'm just going to a new browser window 1:30:19 and just go on I need to find something 1:30:20 fast so I think why don't I do it right 1:30:23 now I am going 1:30:29 to turn that [ __ ] off removed 1:30:32 from 1:30:33 Chrome 1:30:36 byebye thank you for asking about it 1:30:38 because now I think I have my Chief's 1:30:44 game yeah 1:30:46 back do 1:30:49 Broncos let's see how how bad those 1:30:52 losers [ __ ] lost yesterday oh 41 1:30:57 to1 1:31:03 jerks Kyle I saw a suggestion to put in 1:31:06 memory that if chat PT doesn't 1:31:08 absolutely know the correct answer it 1:31:10 should say so I plan on adding that in 1:31:13 my account hope it helps that's pretty 1:31:14 smart I like that I don't know if it's I 1:31:18 mean even if you say that it's not going 1:31:20 to be there Meuse 1:31:22 GPT regular why don't you like that okay 1:31:26 yep got 1:31:31 it BR Brandon thinks I'm ignoring him 1:31:34 that's just because I'm ignoring 1:31:38 you have you tried using what was that 1:31:40 the the Minecraft 1:31:42 thing have you tried playing AI 1:31:44 Minecraft I haven't played it yet but 1:31:46 let's go look for it uh AI 1:31:50 Minecraft play playable 1:31:56 is this 1:32:18 it Minecraft is available across 1:32:21 multiple device oh that's just shitty 1:32:23 ads 1:32:29 oh this gave me okay this so here's a 1:32:32 perfect example okay this is this is 1:32:35 perfect okay here's why I hate [ __ ] 1:32:39 Google I just wanted to play Minecraft 1:32:41 AI right so it takes me to Sports ska 1:32:45 whatever this [ __ ] stupid site is and 1:32:48 now I've got this video ad this ad 1:32:51 that's been removed this ad this ad that 1:32:55 all of a sudden makes me feel 1:32:56 uncomfortable like should I be looking 1:32:57 at this right 1:32:59 now it it's doing popup ads I can skip 1:33:02 the popup ads it's trending now the 1:33:04 pages are unresponsive because it's 1:33:06 probably downloading it's probably 1:33:07 logging into all my 1:33:09 [ __ ] this is this is my experience with 1:33:13 Google is just everything is out to [ __ ] 1:33:15 you and we're g to take you to all of 1:33:18 those sites 1:33:22 first so let's shall we go over to chat 1:33:29 J and turn on Search and say um how can 1:33:34 I play the AI 1:33:40 Minecraft that is running 1:33:45 on uh with a 1:33:48 defusion model not a game engine 1:34:02 I got to install all that [ __ ] no that's 1:34:04 that can't be 1:34:08 right hang on isn't there a 1:34:12 webbased version I can play I don't want 1:34:18 to install your stupid command line crap 1:34:26 that will fill up my hard drive and make 1:34:32 me sad 1:34:39 inside oh wait Oasis decart doai okay 1:34:43 thank you 1:34:44 Brandon meanwhile Brandon's over here 1:34:47 solving all my 1:34:49 problems that's stable diffusion 1:34:52 currently there isn't a based version 1:34:55 all right well you're wrong because 1:34:57 Brandon has it on my screen right now 1:35:02 oasis. 1:35:04 decart aai 1:35:07 boom take that you stupid [ __ ] chat 1:35:13 GPT video model a game engine trained by 1:35:16 millions of gameplay hours every step 1:35:19 you take will shape the environment 1:35:20 around you in real 1:35:22 time um 1:35:25 okay hang on let me do 1:35:28 this and I'll come back to 1:35:34 that why this is a big deal is this is 1:35:37 Minecraft right now and it's probably 1:35:39 gonna be janky and we're probably gonna 1:35:41 find a bunch of [ __ ] wrong with it 1:35:44 but if you wanna if you want to 1:35:47 understand the complexity of what it 1:35:48 takes to make even a shitty game go 1:35:52 download and launch the the software 1:35:56 Unity which is a game development 1:35:58 environment and play engine and 3D 1:36:01 environment and and just or or or go to 1:36:07 um real engine what is it 1:36:12 um just go look up any one of the game 1:36:15 development environments they're 1:36:16 incredibly complicated this is literally 1:36:20 you train the game you train the model 1:36:23 on games you want to play and it just 1:36:25 sort of invents it in real time as 1:36:27 you're playing it um so anyway let's 1:36:31 let's see if it's at all 1:36:34 decent Mountain Metal all right let's 1:36:38 see if you have keyboard limiting 1:36:40 extensions disabled it 1:36:46 okay move okay 1:37:00 okay so now one of the things I 1:37:02 understand is that if you turn this way 1:37:05 and then you turn 1:37:07 back and then you turn back it should be 1:37:09 different yeah it is so notice 1:37:12 before off in the distance there was 1:37:15 like a a sculpture and now there's not 1:37:17 look now there's a hole in the 1:37:19 ground so now I'm going to turn back 1:37:22 this way 1:37:24 it see like that building's gone so so 1:37:28 so one of the downsides of this is it 1:37:31 doesn't have any Persistence of 1:37:33 memory so now there's a mountain in 1:37:35 front of us with a door we're g a 1:37:40 fence yeah see now there's a lake now 1:37:43 there's 1:37:44 beaches can I go 1:37:52 forward anyway all right that's pretty 1:37:55 cool 1:37:57 so the thing about this I'm left 344 1:38:00 everything you see is age AI 1:38:03 generated 1:38:04 um let me show you a let me show you a 1:38:07 tweet that I think is very funny oh that 1:38:10 was 1:38:14 wrong oh maybe Brandon okay where's my 1:38:29 don't look too close at any specific 1:38:31 block it sends you to another dimension 1:38:34 but I want to go I want to go find 1:38:35 something for 1:38:37 you game 1:38:41 okay let's close that 1:38:44 okay and let's close that stupid [ __ ] 1:38:47 thing before it gives me a virus 1:38:50 okay let's go to the 1:38:52 X and I'm going to go to my 1:38:55 profile and I'm going to go to 1:39:06 replies so this guy Tim 1:39:10 Sweeney is responding to this that game 1:39:13 that we just 1:39:15 played he says wow every single thing 1:39:19 about this 1:39:21 sucks now who's he my response to him 1:39:27 was let's see where's my 1:39:29 response 1:39:32 um fear of AI happens to CEOs too 1:39:36 apparently so Tim 1:39:38 Sweeney is the founder and CEO of epic 1:39:46 games so they've been they've been 1:39:48 handcrafting games for for more than a 1:39:52 decade 1:39:54 and as shitty as that demo is as shitty 1:39:58 as that thing is and can't you know 1:40:00 remember what's on your left or or right 1:40:04 the fact that this is happening is a 1:40:06 direct threat to him and his business 1:40:09 model so that's that's pretty pretty 1:40:13 pretty 1:40:14 something all right let me jump back 1:40:20 here all right did we cover everything 1:40:23 good night night ocean done for tonight 1:40:26 thanks all have a great night good 1:40:29 night all 1:40:33 right hold one please hold one 1:40:36 moment holy Zoom 1:40:39 [Laughter] 1:40:42 Batman all right 1:40:46 um okay I'm going to get rolling on out 1:40:51 of here is there anything any Brandon 1:40:54 and I need to cover that I missed he 1:40:57 knows he's screwed well he's not screwed 1:40:59 yet but with that kind of 1:41:03 attitude so so that that comment that he 1:41:07 made about every single thing about this 1:41:11 sucks says that he's gonna sit on the 1:41:14 sidelines with his arms crossed like 1:41:16 this going yeah AI games will never be a 1:41:19 thing and someone within his company I 1:41:22 promise you this and I'm I would imagine 1:41:24 that they've already [ __ ] done it 1:41:26 someone from his company will walk into 1:41:29 his office and say hey boss look what I 1:41:31 just did and it'll be some sexier 1:41:34 version of what we just played and his 1:41:36 response will probably be that's not 1:41:39 what we do around here we make real 1:41:41 games and it'll kick the person out and 1:41:44 you know what that sounds exactly like 1:41:47 what the Kodak executive said when one 1:41:49 of their employees walked in with the 1:41:51 digital camera that they invented 1:41:54 they said that's a toy that's not what 1:41:56 we do we're in the silver Halli business 1:41:59 youngster get the hell out of 1:42:03 here all right let's 1:42:07 see um I'll check that out tomorrow uh 1:42:11 Brandon just because because I I haven't 1:42:12 played with it I just want to make sure 1:42:13 that I know what it is and I can demo it 1:42:15 cor correctly so that's great 1:42:19 um okay Beauty so let me get out of here 1:42:23 my voice is getting a little my voice is 1:42:25 getting a little 1:42:29 uh 1:42:34 horse okay so here's what we're gonna do 1:42:37 if if you're here and you haven't 1:42:39 followed me on 1:42:41 X Kyle Shannon on X or AI learninglab 1:42:45 dtt on YouTube please do so please 1:42:49 follow me there um if you haven't 1:42:51 followed me on AI learning lab on Tik 1:42:52 Tok please do that too 1:42:54 thanks kylin mods you did great yeah 1:42:56 thank you thank you Brandon thank you 1:42:57 mods I know this is new and weird it is 1:43:00 new and weird for me too um so hopefully 1:43:03 I'm not too discombobulated I'm I'm I'm 1:43:06 a lot distracted because there's more 1:43:08 going on I now have a second monitor um 1:43:11 so um 1:43:15 um but yeah tomorrow I'm not going to be 1:43:17 going live because it's election night 1:43:19 we do not have a salon tomorrow night if 1:43:22 you have not joined the salon Salon 1:43:24 please go do that the 1:43:28 salon address if you don't know it is 1:43:31 the salon. that'll take you to our 1:43:33 website and then scroll down till you 1:43:35 see a button that says join our 1:43:37 community please join the community if 1:43:39 you're curious about AI it doesn't cost 1:43:42 you anything so please go do 1:43:44 that 1:43:46 um all 1:43:48 right I I assume that no is because 1:43:51 we're not going live tomorrow night I 1:43:52 might do a sneaky live uh if if there's 1:43:56 you know some sort of drama or I'm in a 1:43:58 good mood or something like that um but 1:44:01 I'm not going to officially go live 1:44:02 tomorrow night uh but I will see you 1:44:05 again Wednesday 800 PM again we're gonna 1:44:08 start on Tik Tock and YouTube and X all 1:44:11 together and then when we start demoing 1:44:14 [ __ ] I'll drop the I'll drop the Tik Tok 1:44:19 um I I think on Wednesday what I'm what 1:44:22 I'm gonna start 1:44:28 doing I'm going to start demoing 1:44:32 longer longer workflows so workflows 1:44:35 that involve multiple tools because I 1:44:38 think that's really the where we're 1:44:40 headed is you're G to have to be able to 1:44:43 be fasile and agile and switch between 1:44:46 tools a lot so I want to start demoing 1:44:49 those kind of projects so so I think 1:44:51 that's what we'll do on Wednesday so 1:44:52 Market on your calendar for 1:44:54 Wednesday and we will have some fun and 1:44:57 make some cool [ __ ] because I'm now in 1:44:59 the Creator program of a video tool so 1:45:03 how do you make a good video well 1:45:04 there's a lot of [ __ ] that has to happen 1:45:06 before you make the video and so that's 1:45:08 the kind of stuff where I think there's 1:45:09 a lot of tools we can play with make it 1:45:11 a Blandon night I think I just might I 1:45:13 think that's a really good idea 1:45:18 um okay that's great Brandon we do we 1:45:21 need a save Word Perfect uh 1:45:24 um okay so who's in here tonight Vicky 1:45:27 thank you so much as always Naomi great 1:45:29 to see you
