9. 1:22called introduce yourself. One of those spaces is called learn our values, understand our values, things like curiosity and playfulness and

13. 1:56tonight's Wednesday. So so um we're starting a new format this week and we are following the cycle of AI readiness.
14. 2:05And so Mondays are play first nights where we just go play with AI. Wednesdays are create excellence nights
15. 2:12and then Fridays are generously leads. Um, and we're we're kind of figuring out what each of those means.
16. 2:22I was going to show do some building stuff. I think I'll do a little bit of building stuff tonight in uh in uh
17. 2:31in the live. Um, but there's so much new stuff that tonight's probably going to feel more like a play first night than a
18. 2:39create excellence night because there's just a lot of stuff going on and I kind of wanna I kind of want to explore the
19. 2:44new stuff that's happening. So anyway, um that cycle of AI readiness, if there's one thing that the AI salon does
20. 2:52in the next 5 years is gets people in touch with that idea of it's not you versus AI, it's you amplified by AI
21. 3:02where you take yourself, put yourself at the center, your values, things like that. And let's see, Lori, hey everyone.

24. 3:21Um tonight, I'm going to show you Grockbot. I'm going to show you how I've got it set up right now and how I'm
25. 3:27starting to to play with um some things and and what you can do in there. Um I have a very thin understanding of it
26. 3:37right now. However, Linda Sherman, aloha, Claire, uh, Dr. Jay, how are you? Welcome everybody. Um, it's it's it's a really big week. Um,
27. 3:56and I like you am completely exhausted with how much [laughter]
28. 4:12how much new AI stuff launches on a regular basis. I'm exhausted. Um, I can't keep up with it. I don't know how anything works anymore.
29. 4:23Things keep changing and it's not it's not going to improve anytime soon.
30. 4:39It's going to keep accelerating. The the launches are going to come faster. Like bigger, more dramatic pieces of technology are
31. 4:50going to show up. And there's a couple of ways to deal with. One is you can try to keep up. Um it'll just make you crazy. One is you
32. 5:06can say, "Well, I'll go watch the AI learning lab and see if if Kyle's paying attention to anything." I kind of do that with X
33. 5:15where I go on X and I say, you know, are any of the people that I respect all saying the same thing? And that sort of
34. 5:21sort of represents some sort of signal that that this thing might be important. But a couple of things happening this
35. 5:28week is that the the models are getting like the the moving from um what was it Claude or no uh Fable 5 to Fable 5.1
36. 5:47which that happened on Monday. It's a 0.1 incremental improvement, but the the numbers on the benchmarks
37. 5:56are dramatic. So, it's it's dramatically smarter than the 50 version, and then it's cheaper. It's faster, and it's
38. 6:02cheaper than the 50 version. So, it's it's I guess it's an optimized version of Fable that came out four weeks ago,
39. 6:09right? So, these these things are coming really quickly. And then there are also some world models that came out from
40. 6:15from World Labs and from uh Runway that are both really significant. Now they're both early announcements, so
41. 6:24they're not really available. You can get on the wait list. You can sort of see what they've done, you know, in
42. 6:30their marketing announcements, but those represent an actual shift. Um, and then you start looking at things
43. 6:41like Grockbot where it's it's starting to be a more simple experience. Still not simple, don't get me wrong, but a
44. 6:48more simple experience for how you use Agentic AI. And so things get simultaneously more complicated and more simple
45. 7:04as these things evolve. and more powerful as these things evolve. And 93 94% of human beings in this nation in in the United States.
46. 7:25I don't quite know what that one means. I sort of know, but I don't know. Ah, okay. Got it. Um, so by the way, if you're on Tik Tok and

49. 7:58there continues to be 93 or 94% of human beings are not aware of AI. There's kind of a a meme. We're we're
50. 8:06reaching out to the guy that runs it. This this sort of awesome New York uh accented dude from Charleston AI. It's
51. 8:15this very simple sort of storefront, I assume, in Charleston, South Carolina. um where they're just teaching real
52. 8:22people how to use AI. They've opened a storefront. They're installing like notetaking apps that you stick on your
53. 8:28phone on people's phones and they're getting them AI enabled and and teaching them how to do it. So the spectrum of of
54. 8:37what is defined as AI and what is defined as valuable in what AI is is getting very very wide. Right? If if you if you're just on X and
55. 8:52just paying attention to the AI crowd, if you don't have like your own digital twin and and local context and
56. 9:03running local inference and doing all this stuff and running, you know, open-source agent harnesses and
57. 9:11commercial agent harnesses and switching between agent harnesses like they're candy bars at a 7-Eleven. you're not doing it right.
58. 9:20And then there's like this guy at Charleston AI which is like come on in. I'll show you how chat GPT works. Like
59. 9:28you know here's a prompt, here's an answer. Um, no Emmy, who's one of the AI salon ambassadors today, was telling us, we
60. 9:37had our we had our monthly meeting for the ambassadors and she was telling us about this workshop she gave and you
61. 9:43know, she was going in and making pictures of recipes and someone was going on a trip to Spain or something like that and hadn't done their
62. 9:51itinerary, but they knew they were going to be staying at these three places and they had some stuff worked out and some
63. 9:56stuff not worked out and in 15 minutes she built them a whole itinerary for their trip, you know, what restaurants
64. 10:03to eat at, what food to order at those restaurants. Right now, it's Chat GPT, so I'm sure some of those restaurants are probably closed
65. 10:11[laughter] or they were just made up. They don't even exist. Um, but that's kind of the place we're at where there's just
66. 10:26there's a there's a a broad level of uh of adoption. Ethan Malik, um, who I used to follow a lot, but I I I've even stopped following
67. 10:41him because there's just so much going on. Um, but but Ethan Mollik named it the jagged frontier. That what
68. 10:49we would see is the jagged frontier where some people in some industries are going to heavily adopt AI and they're
69. 10:55going to go all in on AI and then some people won't adopt it at all. And it's it's just going to be this very jagged,
70. 11:02you know, scene. And we're starting to see that play out. And we're starting to see people who are just now getting into
71. 11:09AI, they don't want to tinker with it. They they they're like, "Does it do something good for me right now?" Oh, it
72. 11:17can help me with my trip. Okay, cool. That's good. It's all I need. I don't need more than that. You know, if you've
73. 11:27been playing with this stuff for a while, that's like a That's like a a long since past parlor trick. Well, it's
74. 11:32not a parlor trick for people that have never seen this before. It's revvely, right? So, anyway. Oh, I thought that was ch tongue and
75. 11:43cheek. He sounded more like he was from Jersey. Jersey, New York, whatever it is. He's he's my my brain was diagnosed as being three
76. 11:53times faster and smarter than the latest release of Chat GBT. Yeah. Well, hang on to that. Hang on to that fantasy. Uh,
77. 12:03I gave up I gave up on on trying to think I was smarter than AI when the first reasoning model came out and I
78. 12:10realized I wasn't smart enough to even know what to ask it. Um, it's the next six months probably I think we'll see
79. 12:25we'll see a a model will will drop that will just be of a different nature. It'll be of a different level. Um,
80. 12:34will we get AGI in the next six months? Probably not. Probably not. I don't know. Anyway, so here's what I'm going to do. I'm going

85. 13:13for four or five months and then I started doing lives in April of 2023 and we've been doing them since. Um, so
86. 13:20we've been here for a while and the AI salon, if you're new to it, is a remarkably generous and kind and
87. 13:29thoughtful and talented group of people who are just trying to figure this AI stuff out. Like, what does it mean for them?
88. 13:40What's it mean for the future of work? What's it mean for their neighbors? What's it mean for their business?
89. 13:44What's it mean for their retirement? Um, so if you're new here and you're and you're feeling like I don't know
90. 13:51anything about this, nobody knows anything about this. Like even if you've been paying attention to it night after
91. 13:57night like I do and talking about it, it's impossible to keep up. It's just it's literally like like a like a a mad
92. 14:05river sort of rushing by us and you can sort of at this point pick up little little snippets of it here and there.
93. 14:11Um, but but it really is like that. And so if you're feeling behind, you are both behind and exactly where everyone
94. 14:20else is. Like we're all kind of at the start line constantly. Just about the time you think you have it figured out,
95. 14:27everything changes. And then just about the time you have it figured out, everything changes again. And if your
96. 14:32immediate response to that is, that sounds exhausting, it's exhausting. It really is. Um, hopped over to see what's

106. 16:32This is by far the hardest task I've ever given codeex and the games. I mean, these things are a bit of stunts to be

108. 16:56gets queued up to be sold live by an AI host. And the stream is actually live. Ask questions and chat with the host.

183. 29:11and it can generate 5 seconds of video in 3 seconds. And so that means you can prompt a clip and it starts playing the
184. 29:20clip and then you can prompt another one and it'll keep playing it. You can prompt another one and you can just keep
185. 29:25doing that systematically. And what this person has done is said, "Hey, the prompts are going to look at
186. 29:33whatever link of product someone put in here. We're going to pull whatever metadata we can from it. We're gonna we're going to just prompt
187. 29:42this shopping channel and we're going to put a link in front of it. This is genius because all the bitter people and the pissed-off
188. 29:55people and the angry people and the scared people are like, "It's just AI slop." Yeah, it's AI slop. It's terrible. And
189. 30:06some this person or someone like this person are going to create a channel like that that's going to become the QVC of this AI

211. 33:48and so submit a product and it gets cues up to be sold live by the AI bot. So I clicked on it and then sure enough it's

434. 1:14:22one of these bots has its own computer. And so, you have a chief of staff bot that's got its own computer, and then
435. 1:14:29you have all these other bots that have their own computer, and they can all have different loginins. So,

439. 1:15:01ever done those kind of automations. Except here, you can just say to your chief of staff, I want you to make a a
440. 1:15:08bot that every time an email comes from Brandon to storyvine.com, you do this with it. And he'll go make a bot that
441. 1:15:14does that. So, what I'd like you to do is tell me what kind of bot I should make and I'll go make a bot. So, this is on you now.

448. 1:16:27So, the first thing I did, so a couple of things about Grockbot. It's really fast and it's really good. I don't know
449. 1:16:33how they're doing either of those. It doesn't seem to have context problems where you talk to it for a long time and
450. 1:16:39it gets shitty. It doesn't seem to do that and it's really fast. So, so Gabby's been listening to me talk
451. 1:16:48about agents for a while now and she's like, "Could you get one of those agents to send me like buyers in Colorado?" I
452. 1:16:56said, "I don't know. Sure." And so I went to Radar and I said, "I want you to come up with a bot called Art that's
453. 1:17:01going to make a 50 like a spreadsheet with 50 art buyers on it." And so it made that. And I thought, well, that's
454. 1:17:09boring. It's just a spreadsheet. And she may or may not do something with the spreadsheet, but could we could we make
455. 1:17:14this more dynamic? And so I said, 'Hey Radar, rather than a spreadsheet, what if we send Gabby an email a day that
456. 1:17:24says, "Here's an art buyer or an art consultant. Here's their email. Here's their phone number. Both verified.
457. 1:17:31Um, here's why I selected them." Because art, the artbot, I gave it Gabby's uh website, art website, and so it knows
458. 1:17:42what her art is and how she describes it. and and then it goes out and it it finds someone and then it sends her an email
459. 1:17:51with all this information and then it it sends her a personalized copy paste email text to send to that person. So
460. 1:18:00it's just like every day she gets an email, here's another one to email and here's the text to to write them. So
461. 1:18:05that's all it does. Um the guy last night that spoke at the salon, um Price Fulier, he likes to surf and so he
462. 1:18:13created a bot that logs into this surfing website for his local beaches, looks at the live cams, tells him how
463. 1:18:21many people are in the water, how big the waves are, and whether or not he should go down there. My bot reviews
464. 1:18:28work. Wait, my bot reviews the work I'm doing for clients each week. writes an appropriate LinkedIn article about
465. 1:18:35sharing PII. Send me a message for my approval and once I get approved, it posts it for me. The articles are pretty good. Amazing. Amazing.
466. 1:18:48What about a bot that generates a motivational limick based on your calendar or the weather? No, you don't.
467. 1:18:54You don't get to select the bots. Someone else If no one comes up with a bot, I'll make a stupid one. [laughter] We're not doing We're not
468. 1:19:03doing weather limmericks. Because here's the problem, Brandon. I'll make that stupid bot and because I have ADD, I'll
469. 1:19:09forget to delete it and like six months from now, I'll have 274 bots in my Grockbot and one of them will be the stupid limick writer that is
470. 1:19:19polluting the internet with limicks every four hours. This is so fabulous. Thank you. [laughter] But I mean the thing Mary Mary the thing is
471. 1:19:33I didn't really have to know how to make that bot. I just said to Radar, "Go make me that bot." And did it make a good bot or not? I
472. 1:19:46don't know. I don't care. That's kind of the point with where we're headed with AI. You're not going to have to be a prompt
473. 1:19:56engineer if you want to work for a AI lab maybe or if you want to work in IT and figure out how to but even then probably not.
474. 1:20:10We're the other thing about Grockbot is the app is available on your phone. So it's amazing. I can I can start a
475. 1:20:19conversation with Radar on my computer and then I go to my phone and it's still active saying I'm talking to one of the
476. 1:20:26other bots down here and we're doing your thing. And I got this morning I was I was on a call like a work call and I had my phone
477. 1:20:36sitting you know in my charger beside me and a notification popped up and it was Radar and Radar said Art sent Gabby an
478. 1:20:45email with this person. You know it's like you know they're they're they're really like little dudes. They're like
479. 1:20:52Tamagotchis that can go surf the web and do for you. [laughter] Oh my god. It's just been a hard and heavy user of chat work these days. Oh,
480. 1:21:04I've just been. Yeah. And this is the Okay, so so Mary Mary, that's a really good point. When you start using codecs
481. 1:21:13or chat work or claude co-work, you actually start to get your head around what it makes possible. You're like, "Oh I'm going to go do this
482. 1:21:23thing for work and I'm going to do that thing for work and then, oh, there's these other six things I could do for
483. 1:21:27work." And then this one breaks and then you got to go back and now you're managing. It's way worse than managing
484. 1:21:33employees because they just sort of break randomly and you know, you can't they just don't have enough autonomy yet.
485. 1:21:41So, it can get really stressful trying to do actual work with that. One of the ways to maybe think about Grockbot is
486. 1:21:48maybe that's just a place you go and experiment, right? and do stupid I don't know. Um I think Grockbot So
487. 1:21:55Grockbot is b built on top of cursor which Grock or uh SpaceX AI acquired for 11.9 billion dollar. So I guess they had this thing in the
488. 1:22:11works. They got bought by SpaceX AI and they launched Grockbot and now and so now it's live in the world.

510. 1:25:31amazing bonding moment for people within the mastermind. Like by the end, everyone was smiling because we were all
511. 1:25:38smiling at how uncomfortable the people that were were doing their things um were, but they were doing them and it
