33:00 picture that it showed me had like a

33:10 people and it turned the person's head
33:12 to the side and had a bunch of [ __ ]

33:15 it and then I said no no what would you
33:17 look like if you didn't have to speak to
33:22 humans if you didn't have to translate
33:24 to humans and this is the image that it
33:26 created of itself

1:20:04 engineering team and all the best AI
1:20:06 Talent there only one thing we need is a
1:20:10 big intelligence comes from big cluster
1:20:13 big cluster so we can reconvert the
1:20:16 entire progress of xai now replacing the
1:20:19 Benchmark on the y axis to the total
1:20:21 amount of training flops that is how
1:20:23 many gpus we can run at any time to
1:20:26 train our large language models to
1:20:28 compress the entire
1:20:30 internet so after all human all human
1:20:33 knowledge really that's right yeah
1:20:34 internet being part of it but it's
1:20:36 really all human knowledge all
1:20:37 everything yeah the whole internet fits
1:20:39 into a USB stick at this point it's like
1:20:41 all the human tokens yeah that's right
1:20:44 yeah very soon into the real world yeah
1:20:48 um so we had so much trouble actually
1:20:51 training Gru back in the days um with
1:20:54 kickoff model around February and uh we
1:20:57 thought we had a large amount of chips
1:20:59 but turned out we can barely get AK
1:21:02 training chips running coherently at any
1:21:04 given time and we had so many Cooling
1:21:08 and power issues I think you were there
1:21:11 in the data center yeah it was like
1:21:13 really sort of more like 8K tips on
1:21:16 average at 80% efficiency more like like
1:21:18 6500 effective uh h100s training for you
1:21:23 know several months but
1:21:26 now now we're at 100K so yeah that's
1:21:28 right more than 100K that's right so so
1:21:31 what's the next step right so after gu 2
1:21:35 so if we want to continue
1:21:37 accelerate we have to take the matter
1:21:39 into our own hands we have to solve all
1:21:40 the coolings um all the power issues and
1:21:44 everything yeah so so in April of last
1:21:46 year Elon decided that really the only
1:21:48 way for XI to succeed for XI to build
1:21:51 the best AI out there is to build our
1:21:53 own data center so so um we didn't have
1:21:55 a lot of time but because we wanted to
1:21:57 give you gr free as quickly as possible
1:21:59 so really we realized we have to build
1:22:01 the data center in about four months um
1:22:04 it turned out it took us 122 days to get
1:22:07 the first 100K gpus up and running and
1:22:10 there was a Monumental effort uh to be
1:22:12 able to do that um it's we believe it's
1:22:15 the biggest uh fully connected h100
1:22:17 cluster of its kind um and uh we didn't
1:22:20 just stop there we actually decided that
1:22:22 we need to double the size of the
1:22:24 cluster pretty Prett much immediately if
1:22:25 we want to build the kind of AI that we
1:22:28 want to build um so we then had another
1:22:31 phase um which you haven't talked about
1:22:33 publicly yet this is the first time that
1:22:35 we're talking about this uh where we
1:22:37 doubled the capacity of the data center
1:22:39 yet again um and that one only took us
1:22:42 92 days so we've been able to use all of
1:22:45 these gpus use all of this compute to
1:22:47 improve GR in the meantime and basically
1:22:50 today we're going to present you the
1:22:51 results of that the the fruits that came
1:22:54 from that um so that's yeah so all the
1:22:58 paths all the rows leads to gr 3 uh 10x
1:23:01 more compute more than 10x really yeah
1:23:04 really maybe 15x is yep uh compared to
1:23:08 our previous generation model and gr
1:23:11 finished the pre-training uh early
1:23:13 January um and uh we start you know the
1:23:17 model still currently training actually
1:23:19 so this is a little preview of our
1:23:22 Benchmark numbers so we evaluated three
1:23:26 on you know three different categories
1:23:29 on General mathematical reasonings on
1:23:32 general knowledge about stem and Science
1:23:35 and then also on computer science
1:23:38 coding so Amy uh American Invitational
1:23:42 math
1:23:43 examination uh hosts you know once a
1:23:45 year uh and if we evaluate the model
1:23:49 performance we can see that the gr 3
1:23:52 across the board is in a league of its
1:23:54 own even his little brother BR mini is
1:23:58 reaching the frontier across all the
1:24:01 other
1:24:02 competitors so you will say well at this
1:24:05 point all these benchmarks you're just
1:24:07 evaluating you know the memorization of
1:24:09 the textbooks memorization of the GitHub
1:24:12 repost how about realtime usefulness how
1:24:15 about we actually use those models in
1:24:16 our product so what we did instead is we
1:24:21 actually kicked off a blind test of our
1:24:24 graphic model code named Chocolate
1:24:26 Chocolate the thing yeah hot chocolate
1:24:29 um and uh you know I've been running on
1:24:32 this uh platform called chap arena for
1:24:35 two weeks um I think the entire X
1:24:38 platform at some point speculated this
1:24:40 might be the next generation of a AI
1:24:43 coming away so uh how this CH Arena
1:24:47 works is that um it Stripped Away the
1:24:51 entire product surface right it's just
1:24:53 raw comparison of the of those agis the
1:24:56 language models themselves you all stop
1:24:58 picking on them for being boring can
1:25:01 barely hear I know well they're they're
1:25:04 whisper acting I can't and in you make
1:25:06 the V so in this blind test gr 3 an
1:25:10 early version of Gro 3 already reached
1:25:14 like 1,400 no other models has reached
1:25:16 an ELO score had to had comparison to
1:25:19 all the other models at this score it's
1:25:22 not
1:25:23 category 1 1400 aggregated across all
1:25:27 the categories in chb capabilities
1:25:29 instruction following
1:25:31 coding so it's number one across the
1:25:33 board in this blind test and it's it's
1:25:35 still climbing so we actually have to
1:25:37 keep updating it so it's it's 14400
1:25:39 about, 1400 in climbing yeah in fact we
1:25:42 have a version of the model that we
1:25:43 think is already much better than the
1:25:45 one that we tested here yeah we'll see
1:25:47 you know how how far it gets uh but
1:25:49 that's the one that we're you know um
1:25:52 working on or talking about today yeah
1:25:54 so actually one thing if if you're if
1:25:56 you're using grock 3 you I think you may
1:25:57 notice improvements almost every day um
1:26:00 because we're we're continuously
1:26:01 improving the model so
1:26:03 Espy even within 24 hours you'll see
1:26:05 improvements Jeff flan gargantuan data
1:26:09 center in a dim store mic 200,000
1:26:13 gpus and a $27 microphone one for each
1:26:16 person and the B I need to think like a
1:26:18 human you to contemplate about all the
1:26:21 possible
1:26:22 solutions self-critique
1:26:24 verify all the solutions so graa is
1:26:27 going to reason and also think from the
1:26:29 first principle that's a very important
1:26:31 capability so we believe that as we take
1:26:35 the best pre-train model and continue
1:26:37 training it with reinforcement learning
1:26:40 it will Enit the additional reasoning
1:26:42 capabilities that allows the model to
1:26:44 become so much better and scale this
1:26:47 production must have cost hundreds I
1:26:49 think I think the AI learning lab has
1:26:51 higher production values than this for
1:26:55 our own engineering hours of time
1:26:58 hundreds of I have a gold
1:27:04 button yeah so like Jimmy said we've
1:27:06 added Advanced reasoning capabilities to
1:27:09 Grog and we've been testing them pretty
1:27:10 heavily over the last few weeks in order
1:27:12 to give you a little bit of a taste of
1:27:14 what it looks like when Gro is solving
1:27:15 heart reasoning problems so we prepared
1:27:17 two little problems for you one comes
1:27:19 from physics and one is actually a game
1:27:22 that gr is going to write for us um so
1:27:24 when it comes to the physics problem you
1:27:26 know what we want gr to do is to plot a
1:27:28 viable trajectory to do a transfer from
1:27:32 Earth to Mars and then uh at a later
1:27:35 point in time a transfer back from Mars
1:27:37 to Earth um and that requires some know
1:27:40 some Physics that Gro will have to
1:27:41 understand um so we're going to
1:27:43 challenge Gro you know come up with a
1:27:44 variable trajectory calculate it and
1:27:48 then ploted for us so we can see it and
1:27:51 um yeah this is totally unscripted by
1:27:53 the way this is the that's the entirety
1:27:55 of the prompt which should be clarify is
1:27:57 that yeah there's nothing more than that
1:27:59 yeah exactly this is the grock interface
1:28:01 and we've typed in this text that you
1:28:03 can see here generate code for an
1:28:05 animated 3D plot of a launch from Earth
1:28:09 uh landing on Mars and then back to
1:28:11 they're showing grock 3 mini um and
1:28:13 we've not kicked off the query and you
1:28:15 can see grock is sping so part of
1:28:18 Brock's Advanced reasoning capabilities
1:28:20 are these thinking traces that you can
1:28:22 see here you can even go inside and
1:28:25 actually read what Brock is thinking as
1:28:27 it's going through the problem as it's
1:28:28 trying to solve it
1:28:30 um yeah we say like we are doing some
1:28:33 obscuration of the thinking so that our
1:28:36 model doesn't get totally copied
1:28:38 instantly um so there's more to the
1:28:41 thinking than is displayed uh yeah yeah
1:28:46 and because this is totally unscripted
1:28:48 there's actually a chance that grock
1:28:49 might made a little coding mistake and
1:28:51 it might not actually work um so um just
1:28:54 in case we're going to launch two more
1:28:56 instances of this so if something goes
1:28:57 wrong we were able to uh to switch to
1:29:00 those and show you um something that's
1:29:03 presentable so we're kicking off the
1:29:05 other two as well um and like I said we
1:29:08 have a second problem as well um and um
1:29:11 yeah actually one of the favorite one of
1:29:13 our favorite activities here at xci is
1:29:15 having gr write games for us um and um
1:29:19 not just any no uh any old game any game
1:29:22 that you might already be familiar with
1:29:23 but actually creating new games on the
1:29:25 spot and being creative about us um so
1:29:28 one example that we found was really
1:29:30 really fun um is create a game that's a
1:29:33 mixture of the two games Tetris and B so
1:29:37 this is that maybe an important thing
1:29:38 like this obviously if you if you ask an
1:29:41 AI to create a game like Tetris there's
1:29:43 there are many examples of Tetris on the
1:29:45 on the internet that or game like J
1:29:48 whatever there it can copy it what's
1:29:51 interesting here is it achieved a
1:29:53 creative solution combining the two
1:29:56 games that actually works and and is a
1:29:59 good game yeah that's the it's cre we're
1:30:02 seeing the beginnings of
1:30:05 creativity ask it how it can destroy
1:30:08 Doge embarrassing so actually because
1:30:11 this is a bit more challenging we're
1:30:12 going to use something special here
1:30:14 which we call Big Brain that's our mode
1:30:17 in which we use more computation which
1:30:19 more reasoning for GR just to make sure
1:30:22 that you know there's a good chance here
1:30:23 that actually might actually do it um so
1:30:26 we're also gonna it'll be interesting to
1:30:27 see if it actually displays the game in
1:30:30 playable format or you have to run it
1:30:32 somewhere else Tetris and
1:30:34 FWS um yeah let's let's see what Gro
1:30:37 comes up like I've played the game it's
1:30:38 pretty good like it's like wow okay this
1:30:42 is something yeah um so while gr is
1:30:45 spanking in the in the background um we
1:30:47 can now actually talk about some
1:30:48 concrete numbers know how how well is gr
1:30:51 doing across tons of different tasks
1:30:52 that we've tested on um so we'll hand it
1:30:55 over to Tony to talk about that yeah
1:30:58 okay so let's see how Gro does on those
1:31:01 interesting challenging benchmarks uh so
1:31:04 yeah so reasoning again refers to those
1:31:06 models that actually thinks quite for
1:31:08 quite a long time before it tries to
1:31:10 solve a problem so in this case uh you
1:31:14 know around a month ago the gr 3
1:31:16 pre-training finishes so after that we
1:31:19 worked very hard to put the reasoning
1:31:21 capability into the uh current grth B
1:31:23 model so it looks like grock was was
1:31:26 worse than the other things and then
1:31:28 they add it looks like they it sounds
1:31:30 like what he's saying is they added in
1:31:31 reasoning to get it to uh to be better
1:31:34 than the other models but again this
1:31:37 model so essentially on this PL you can
1:31:40 see uh the grth three reasoning beta and
1:31:43 then grth three mini reasoning the grth
1:31:45 three reason mini reasoning is actually
1:31:46 a model that we train for
1:31:48 much I love how one guy explains things
1:31:51 poorly then Elon jumps in to make it
1:31:53 even less hear it it's so
1:31:57 true it's train for much less time um so
1:32:01 all right so let's actually look at what
1:32:03 how how it does on those three
1:32:05 benchmarks so Jimmy also introduced
1:32:08 already so essentially we're looking at
1:32:10 three different areas mathematics
1:32:12 science and coding um and for math we're
1:32:15 picking this high school competition
1:32:17 math problem um for science we actually
1:32:20 pick those PhD level science questions
1:32:23 um and for coding it's also actually
1:32:25 pretty challenging it's competitive
1:32:26 coding and also some lead code which is
1:32:29 some code inter interview problems that
1:32:31 people usually get when interview for
1:32:33 companies so on those benchmarks you can
1:32:35 see that the gro 3 actually perform
1:32:38 quite well listen there's no sleeping on
1:32:41 AI learning lab we are learning here we
1:32:43 are excited about learning and it is not
1:32:45 about the the the the the teaching
1:32:49 assistant capability to entertain
1:32:52 you this is a about learning you you you
1:32:56 take your pills that you need to take
1:32:58 and you stay awake and you learn this is
1:33:00 not the AI snoozing lab the AI La
1:33:03 yawning lab no no this is the AI
1:33:06 learning lab we're learning before you
1:33:08 spit out the answer so in this case the
1:33:11 Shaded bar here means that we just asked
1:33:14 the model to spend more more time you
1:33:17 know you can solve the the same problem
1:33:19 many many times before it it tries to
1:33:21 conclude what tired and you give this
1:33:24 compute or this this kind of budget you
1:33:27 but Kyle you've spoiled us with
1:33:29 entertainment Factor not actual
1:33:31 entertainment just entertainment Factor
1:33:33 yes correct Source Camp so I think this
1:33:36 is really exciting right because now
1:33:38 instead of just doing one chain of
1:33:39 thoughts with AI why not do multiple all
1:33:42 at once yes so that's a very powerful
1:33:44 technique that allows to continue scale
1:33:46 the model capabilities after training um
1:33:50 and do this you know people often ask
1:33:52 are we actually just over fitting to the
1:33:53 bench marks I couldn't do worse how
1:33:55 about so yes I think uh yeah this is
1:33:59 definitely a question that we are asking
1:34:01 ourselves whether we're overfitting to
1:34:03 those demo the [ __ ] tool a real test
1:34:07 so about five days ago Amy 2025 just
1:34:11 finished this is where high school
1:34:13 students compete in this particular
1:34:15 Benchmark so we got this very when I'm
1:34:18 glad I'm watching it with you otherwise
1:34:20 I couldn't watch it I can't watch it
1:34:23 exam and it turns out uh very
1:34:26 interestingly the grth three reasoning
1:34:28 the big one um actually does better um
1:34:32 on this particular new fresh exam this
1:34:34 also means that the generalization
1:34:36 capability of the yeah but look at it 03
1:34:38 mini high was at
1:34:40 87
1:34:42 and grock 3 mini was
1:34:47 a yeah this is weird was it like
1:34:50 83 and grock 3 non mini was at
1:34:55 77 no wonder they thought this was
1:34:57 disappointing but they added reasoning
1:34:59 to it and it's gotten better so that's
1:35:01 interesting just already graduate the
1:35:03 grock grock is ready to go to this could
1:35:05 have been a damn email that's a good one
1:35:07 I mean it's w't be long before it's
1:35:08 simply perfect the human exams won't be
1:35:11 part they' be too easy yeah like I feel
1:35:14 so old right now this has nothing to do
1:35:17 with age you just feel like someone who
1:35:20 needs some level of
1:35:22 entertainment left yeah
1:35:25 yeah one thing that's quite fascinating
1:35:27 I think is that we basically only
1:35:29 trained BRS reasoning abilities on math
1:35:31 problems and comparative coding problems
1:35:34 right so very very specialized kinds of
1:35:36 tasks but somehow it's able to work on
1:35:39 all kinds of other different tasks so
1:35:42 including creating games no lots lots
1:35:44 and lots of different things and what
1:35:46 seems to be happening how's that live
1:35:47 demo coming along fellas anything to
1:35:49 show us or you panicking and it's
1:35:51 thinking correct them persist on a
1:35:53 problem try lots of different variants
1:35:55 pick pick the one that's best so there
1:35:56 are these generalized generalizing
1:35:59 abilities that gr learns from
1:36:01 mathematics and from coding which you
1:36:02 can then use to solve all kinds of other
1:36:04 problems so that's yeah that's pretty I
1:36:06 mean reality is the instantiation of
1:36:09 mathematics ah the reality is the
1:36:11 instantiation of mathematics ah back to
1:36:14 our funny mission is what if one day we
1:36:17 have a computer just like deep thought
1:36:20 that utilize our entire cluster just for
1:36:23 that one very important problem in the
1:36:25 past time all the GPU turned on right so
1:36:28 I think back then we were building the
1:36:29 GPU cluster together uh you were pluging
1:36:32 cables and I remember that when we turn
1:36:35 on the the first initial test you can
1:36:37 hear all the GPS humming in hallway
1:36:40 that's almost feel like
1:36:42 spiritual yeah that that's actually a
1:36:44 pretty cool uh thing that we're able to
1:36:45 do that we can go into the data center I
1:36:48 need some blants you and we both went in
1:36:51 and we unplugged a few of the cables and
1:36:54 just made sure that our training setup
1:36:56 is still running running stable no
1:36:58 elon's not wearing a Yoda shirt it's
1:37:00 some sort of um Roman gladiator with a
1:37:04 winged helmet a new level of reliability
1:37:06 and what you're able to do with with the
1:37:09 hardware so okay so when when are we
1:37:10 going to solve
1:37:13 remon so uh the easiest solution is toh
1:37:17 numerate over all possible strains and
1:37:20 as long you have a verifier enough
1:37:22 compute you'll be able to do it okay my
1:37:24 projection will be what's your guess
1:37:27 what does your neuron net calculate so
1:37:30 my my my both prediction so so three
1:37:31 years ago I told you this I think in now
1:37:33 it's uh two years uh later two things
1:37:36 going to happen we're going to see
1:37:39 machines win some medals yeah that's

1:38:36 one way to find out if this thing is
1:38:38 working I'd say let's let's give it a
1:38:40 try let's run let's run the code all
1:38:42 right and we can see um yeah gr is
1:38:45 animating two different planets Earth
1:38:47 and Mars here and then the the green uh
1:38:51 ball is the the vehicle that's
1:38:53 transiting the spacecraft that's
1:38:55 transitioning between Earth and Mars and
1:38:57 you you could see the journey from Earth
1:38:59 to Mars and looks like yeah indeed the
1:39:01 the astronauts return safely you know at
1:39:04 the right moment in time um so s this
1:39:08 was just generated on the spot so no we
1:39:10 can tell you if that was actually
1:39:12 correct solution so we're going to take
1:39:13 a closer look or maybe we're going to
1:39:14 call some colleagues from space X ask
1:39:17 them if if this is legit um it's pretty
1:39:20 close it's it's I mean uh yeah I mean
1:39:24 there there there's a lot of
1:39:25 complexities in the actual orbits that
1:39:27 have to be taken into account but this
1:39:28 is this is pretty close to to what it

1:41:21 also gravity activates right so uh what
1:41:24 happens if you get three of the colors
1:41:26 together okay so something happens um so
1:41:29 I think I think what SC did in this
1:41:32 version um is is that you know once you
1:41:36 connect three at least three blocks of
1:41:38 the same color in a row then um you know
1:41:42 gravity activates and they disappear and
1:41:44 then gravity activates and all the other
1:41:46 blocks fall down um kind kind of curious
1:41:49 if there's still a Tetris
1:41:51 mean this is why the AI kill kills us

1:42:03 variants when you ask it it doesn't do
1:42:05 honest to God it's like one of the
1:42:07 problems of these research Labs is that
1:42:09 they're just [ __ ] researchers get
1:42:11 some marketers in there get some liberal
1:42:13 arts majors in there that that have
1:42:17 learned how to what do they call it
1:42:20 talk at xci if you're interested in

1:42:55 think harder uh think longer think more
1:42:58 broad the performance continue improves
1:43:02 and we're really excited about the next
1:43:03 fron here that what happen if we not
1:43:05 only allow the model to think harder but
1:43:07 also provide more tools just like how
1:43:09 real humans to solve those problems for
1:43:12 real humans we don't ask them to solve
1:43:14 reman a hypothesis just with a piece of
1:43:17 pen and paper no internet so with all
1:43:21 the basic web browsing search engine and
1:43:25 code interpreters that builds the
1:43:27 foundations and the best reasoning model
1:43:30 builds the foundations for the gr agent
1:43:32 to come um so today we're actually
1:43:37 introducing a new product called Deep
1:43:40 search that is the first generation of
1:43:42 our gr agents that not just helping the
1:43:45 engineers and researchers and scientists
1:43:47 to do coding but actually help everyone
1:43:49 to answer questions that so there so
1:43:52 basically this is
1:43:54 th this whole thing so far is we've
1:43:57 we've nearly caught up to everyone you
1:44:00 have dayto day it's a kind of like a
1:44:01 Next Generation search engine that
1:44:03 really help you to understand the
1:44:05 universe so you can start asking deep
1:44:07 search deep seek deep research question
1:44:10 like for example how original Deep
1:44:13 search well hey when is the next
