4:09 [Music]
4:19 Thursday oh champion
4:22 [Music]
4:34 the boys were singing
4:37 shingling the summer that we
4:42 met you were 10 and
4:45 17 how could I
4:50 forget all the stars from near and far
4:54 were watching from
4:57 above watching too
5:00 teenagers fall in
5:03 [Music]
5:06 love what is happening in the
5:10 [Music]
5:16 [Applause]
5:19 world Milo's wife is sharing the live we
5:22 got hair growth geek in here she keeps
5:24 changing her name it's her
5:26 prerogative she's going to help your
5:28 hair grow
5:29 [Music]
5:32 she can change her
5:34 name got a little Sav put on the put on
5:38 the spots The Widow's
5:40 Peaks and SW out it
5:44 comes I don't choose to go with that I
5:46 choose to go with the uh multiple two
5:49 pays weaved
5:55 together but I'm going for a very
5:57 specific look I'm going for that 1970s
6:00 carpet salesman kind of look you
6:02 [Music]
6:07 know she says she says I need
6:13 her pomidor Central it is a little
6:16 pomidor tonight isn't
6:18 it it's more like 50s than 70s tonight
6:25 [Music]
6:32 you know her growth geek I should be
6:33 your spokes model we could we could
6:36 track it over time we could we could
6:38 make a Tik Tock filter that tracks the
6:41 hair coming back
6:44 in weaved are woven together not an
6:48 English
6:49 [Laughter]
6:52 major oh I don't
6:54 know however I however I get my T pays
6:57 to do what they do
7:00 I don't think he wears
7:03 Tays why would you wear Tays if it was
7:05 that far
7:07 [Laughter]
7:10 receded oh good lord good
7:15 people all right so I found out
7:17 something about my Washington Trip next
7:20 week actually makes me feel a little bit
7:22 better there was some weird
7:25 miscommunication where it was
7:27 communicated somehow that we were
7:28 testifying in front of a joint session
7:30 of Congress not the case I didn't think
7:32 that would be the case cuz we're just
7:34 kind of flying in talk about
7:35 AI um there is a joint session of
7:39 Congress that day which means it's going
7:41 to be busier than [ __ ] in the
7:44 capital so that it still makes it a big
7:46 deal but we're going around and doing
7:48 little little groups of us are going
7:50 around and meeting all the different
7:52 Senators congressmen things like that
8:02 but that's good it takes a little
8:03 pressure off I just have to go talk that
8:06 I can
8:10 [Music]
8:22 do opening I actually released something
8:25 today wasn't anything we asked for
8:29 [Music]
8:39 but we'll play with that tonight see if
8:40 it's any
8:42 good
8:43 um it's called gp4 Omni
8:49 mini GPT 40
8:55 mini it's supposed to be better than the
8:58 gp4 that we paid for for a
9:02 year
9:03 Faster by a
9:06 lot and
9:08 uh 60% cheaper than GPT 3.5 turbo if
9:14 you're using it on the API
9:17 side so these these models just keep
9:20 getting better and better and better I
9:23 think it's half the price of uh
9:25 anthropics ha
9:27 coup which is you know
9:31 know it's competition out there it's
9:35 War I got to see champy before I go into
9:38 airplane mode all right let's see let me
9:41 flip
9:42 this you're just going to see champ butt
9:46 champy come
9:47 here Champion come here
9:51 champy granon wants to see you say hi
9:54 chippy
9:56 chippy chippy you good boy you want to
9:59 sing
10:01 sit sit all right here we go okay
10:05 ready all right here we go ready
10:09 [Music]
10:18 [Music]
10:31 in a Westerly
10:35 Direction this car is my
10:39 train I've been driving I've been
10:42 [Music]
10:43 wondering what it is I'm running from
10:48 again feel like an 8-year-old
10:52 man holding on to
10:57 29 up ahead on that
11:02 Rising is a California
11:07 [Music]
11:11 line well I've had
11:16 enough how there freedom on the road all
11:19 right that's champy there's your champy
11:22 action y'all get some champy action
11:26 travel safe
11:27 Brennan going anywhere fun
11:40 he's a precious little rascals looking
11:43 puff he is a little rascals looking puff
11:45 isn't he you know he looks like the RCA
11:48 Victor
11:50 dog if you're old enough to remember the
11:52 RCA Victor Dog
11:54 [Music]
12:09 does anyone know Champ's age
12:12 um we got him when he was three or four
12:15 we didn't know his exact age when we got
12:18 him he was an Oklahoma
12:21 dog found him in a ditch in
12:27 Oklahoma we were
12:31 3 years at that
12:34 house he's probably 9 or 10 maybe
12:42 11 he was also a three strikes an out
12:47 [Music]
12:49 dog meaning they told us they're like
12:53 okay you can take
12:56 him but uh two amilies have already
13:00 taken him and returned him so you're the
13:03 last one if you return
13:09 him yes the RCA Victor Dog
13:12 exactly so it makes sense that he sings
13:15 doesn't it
13:27 [Music]
13:41 what's anyone got going on what are you
13:43 guys working on his master's voice I
13:47 missed it I didn't get to see him oh you
13:49 missed it it was so good Dina he was
13:51 singing right up into the camera
13:54 oh he was a little excited too I don't
13:56 know if that made it made it onto the
13:58 Tik tock I could have been cancelled
14:01 because of that
14:02 [Laughter]
14:05 champ he was very excited to be singing
14:15 apparently oh dogs
14:20 [Music]
14:32 what would I do without your small mouth
14:36 dra me in and kicking me
14:39 out got my head spinning no
14:45 kidding can't pin you down what's going
14:48 on in that beautiful M I'm on your
14:52 magical msty ride
15:00 are there certain songs or genres that
15:02 make him sing No it's it's acoustic
15:05 guitar it's occasionally brass bands
15:08 playing national anthems at the end of
15:10 F1 races he likes those too but like
15:14 we'll be watching TV and we won't even
15:17 notice that there's like a guitar like a
15:19 little finger picking in the background
15:22 [Music]
15:27 like that kind of [ __ ] in the background
15:30 of a TV show and he'll just
15:38 go so it's acoustic guitar for
15:42 sure not really piano too
15:48 much and it's even just like tuning just
15:51 a single note makes him go and a minor
15:55 champy
15:56 [Music]
16:01 [Applause]
16:03 champy no you're not
16:07 [Music]
16:16 [Music]
16:27 singing loves him some a minor I have
16:30 Champ
16:31 [Music]
16:40 GPT we have enough we have enough uh
16:44 video now I've been doing this singing
16:46 thing with him for like 6 months now
16:49 maybe more N9
16:50 months we can make a whole
16:53 album I occasionally finish a song
16:59 he occasionally finishes a
17:03 song it just Praises champ Non-Stop and
17:06 creates images oh you're champ GPT
17:09 that's awesome Joker you should share
17:11 that in the regulars Channel
17:13 [Music]
17:31 oh very nice
17:35 [Music]
17:55 [Music]
18:05 all right good people let's get this
18:07 show on the road if you're new here my
18:08 name is Kyle
18:11 Shannon I can tell you where I get my
18:13 hair done if you really want to really
18:15 want to
18:17 know I have a team of three people work
18:19 on this every night before the
18:25 show well two and a half
18:29 plus a makeup
18:32 person cuz you know you think this is
18:36 natural
18:39 no a lot of
18:41 [Music]
18:43 blotches lot of acne pock
18:49 marks this is it's what they call
18:51 Hollywood Magic
18:55 [Music]
19:02 Joker did the champ GPT about a year ago
19:05 that's interesting all right so it's
19:07 been about a year fascinating
19:09 fascinating oh I got some people sharing
19:12 the lives you're amazing thank
19:13 [Music]
19:22 you so we can do whatever you want to do
19:25 tonight I figure I'll show some of the
19:26 new or we'll play with some of the new
19:29 new chat GPT
19:32 model um I haven't done like a chat GPT
19:37 walk through in a while I haven't talked
19:39 about how chat GPT Works in a
19:42 while so you tell me what you want to do
19:45 tonight and then I'll ignore it and do
19:48 what I want all right
19:50 [Music]
20:08 [Applause]
20:16 [Music]
20:22 open up your mind see like me open up
20:26 your mind damn you're free look into
20:29 your heart and you'll have love love
20:33 love love listen to the music people
20:37 dance and sing it's just one big
20:41 family it's all for C to be love love
20:46 love love
20:50 love so
20:55 iitate no more no more
21:03 [Music]
21:18 yeah all right love this song that's a
21:21 good song isn't it that Jason morz he's
21:24 one talented
21:25 [ __ ] I watch that dude sing I'm
21:28 like it seems so simple but then you try
21:30 to sing it you're like oh
21:35 [ __ ] [ __ ] Talent
21:41 yeah I added hot Keys into my GPT custom
21:45 instructions posted an article in
21:47 Irregulars that's kind of a cool idea Dr
21:51 J okay so the IR regulars so the
21:56 everyone in here who shows up here on a
21:58 regular basis
22:01 is is uh is an irregular cuz why would
22:06 you show up to this night after night
22:08 it's not normal all right
22:11 steo why are you giving me songs to
22:17 sing that's about what he looks like
22:23 too that's about what he looks like too
22:30 oh except he only has black ears and he
22:33 he doesn't have the black over his
22:36 eyes but I can't get I can't get any of
22:39 these image generation things not to do
22:41 it just like that it always puts black
22:42 patches over his
22:45 eyes I revised my custom GPT
22:48 instructions after reading this section
22:50 reading the section in the article about
22:53 hot
22:54 Keys wow that's cool
23:00 find
23:03 Hot Hot
23:05 Tools Hot
23:16 Tools oh keyboard shortcuts
23:33 oh I see
23:35 shortcut short cut
23:40 action
23:57 huh you can also press process
23:59 combination of
24:05 these oh I see here we go useful
24:09 keyboard
24:11 shortcuts one respond in only one
24:15 sentence so wait how do you use it
24:19 [Music]
24:36 oh I see please please explain this to
24:39 me as if I'm 12 you put an e in be
24:44 in okay so let's
24:47 see we'll do this one f equals I I'll
24:51 explain what this is in a second I know
24:53 I'm mumbling and you can't read the font
24:55 on
24:57 screen um okay so so what this big long
25:00 list is is a whole bunch of keyboard
25:05 shortcuts with letters so table format
25:09 okay so I'm going to go into chat
25:12 jpt and we're going to go into custom
25:14 instruction so I'm going over here to my
25:16 right I'm going to customize chat
25:20 GPT and then I'm going to say at the
25:23 bottom of
25:25 this keyboard
25:32 shortcuts and then I'm going to do I'm
25:34 just going to paste that thing in
25:38 there F provide your response in table
25:41 format so then I'm going to say we're
25:44 going to go new I'm going to go back to
25:47 the main model I'm going to say um I'm
25:51 going to go f
25:54 compare um hot dogs
25:59 and real
26:03 dogs and it should make a
26:06 table yep look at that that's pretty
26:11 slick and so let's go back in
26:16 there my GPT no that's not what I wanted
26:19 I wanted customized
26:21 GPT so let's scroll down here keyboard
26:24 shortcuts we're going to do
26:26 um we're going to do s
26:29 in
26:31 um
26:33 respond in
26:38 shakan I
26:40 Amic
26:48 pentameter oh this is interesting you
26:51 can also turn on or off the features now
26:54 I don't I don't know if that was there
26:56 before or not or I think they just
26:58 updated the
27:02 interface okay so we're going to go here
27:05 and we're going to go
27:08 s and then we're going to go
27:14 um
27:18 explain
27:20 photo
27:22 synthesis and it should give us a
27:24 Shakespearean
27:26 poem indeed it does it
27:29 works Dr J that's an impressive little
27:33 hack there I like it upon the green and
27:38 verdant land doth lie a wondrous process
27:41 neath the sunlet sky the Flora blessed
27:45 with leaves of emerald Hue andage in
27:47 Acts both ancient and yet new they drink
27:52 of light the solar beams so bright and
27:54 breathe in carbon hidden from our sight
27:57 within their cells a Miracle unfolds as
28:01 chlorophyll the secret power
28:03 holds this pigment green transforms the
28:07 light so fair in the light that blooms
28:10 in the gardens air with waterers kiss
28:12 from Roots within the
28:14 ground and heirs Embrace where carbon
28:17 might be
28:18 found look at that [ __ ] magic all
28:22 right
28:23 now the Marvel of photosynthesis now
28:26 we're going to flip over to gp4 4 oh
28:29 mini we're going to do the same thing
28:35 s um explain
28:41 photo
28:46 synthesis oh it's faster look at it look
28:48 how fast fast it
28:51 is in the realm of Nature's light and
28:55 green photosynthesis a process Keen
28:57 unfolds and leaves beneath the sun's
28:59 Embrace a dance of Life a miracle in
29:01 space it's a bit more simple but it's
29:04 not bad and this is this is the new Mini
29:08 model so it's faster and way cheaper if
29:11 you're going to use it in your
29:16 programs the sunlight's torch plants
29:19 draws warm through plil they capture
29:21 light so bright yeah like the the the
29:24 writing isn't as good but it's not bad
29:29 I mean this is
29:31 certainly this is certainly in the
29:33 neighborhood of what what we would have
29:35 gotten with GPT
29:37 4 all right what's the general opinion
29:40 of using chat GPT to help write a book
29:43 uh I wrote a
29:45 book I wrote a book accidentally on this
29:48 very Channel about three weeks ago um so
29:51 my opinion of writing a book with chat
29:53 GPT is really high here's here's some
29:55 things you need to know about it um
29:59 you don't just write a book you don't
30:00 just go give me a book on this and it
30:02 spits out a good
30:04 book um but if you if you think of chat
30:07 GPT more like a writing partner and you
30:09 say hey I have an idea for a book and I
30:12 want you to come up with five or six
30:15 different storytelling Frameworks story
30:17 Frameworks that that we can organize
30:19 this book in and it'll give you story
30:21 Frameworks and you say okay I like I
30:24 like framework two and I like framework
30:26 5 and could you make a hybrid story
30:29 framework that combines those two sure
30:31 here it is it'll give you that then you
30:33 can say okay here are the here are the
30:35 elements of my book here are the
30:37 characters here are the plot elements um
30:40 use that story framework and fill out my
30:44 you know create an outline for my book
30:48 and then it'll do that and then critique
30:50 the [ __ ] out of that outline you got
30:52 this wrong reorder these things that's
30:54 completely wrong you you took a left at
30:56 Albuquerque all that sort of [ __ ]
30:59 and then you then you go in and start
31:02 sort of breaking it down you know give
31:03 me an outline for chapter one now you
31:06 know flesh out this section of this
31:09 outline of chapter 1 so you sort of
31:11 build it by by filling in an outline and
31:15 if you do it like that you can end up
31:16 with something that's decently usable in
31:18 a fairly short amount of time so that's
31:20 that's how I would attack it but I think
31:22 it's amazing for that [ __ ] I would also
31:25 encourage you if you don't uh if you
31:27 haven't played with Claude
31:29 um experiment with Claude as well Claude
31:31 the new Claude 3.5 Sonet is um really
31:35 quite good some people like the writing
31:37 style better than chat gpts um I
31:40 personally like chat GPT but writing is
31:42 a weird thing so I would experiment with
31:45 a couple of tools so the two I would
31:47 start with are Claude and uh and chat
31:51 GPT and then I would also if you need to
31:53 do any research I would include
31:55 perplexity into the mix I got a paid
31:58 open AI account what do you think is the
32:00 best AI to scrub large own text
32:07 files well chat GPT is really good at
32:09 that I don't quite know what you mean by
32:11 scrub it but if you if you've got a paid
32:13 chat GPT go to chat GPT
32:17 40 let's go get oh I've got do I have a
32:20 manuscript in here I think I do hang
32:25 on oh there's a book I'm working on
32:28 called collective
32:30 intelligence so let me let me export
32:36 this download plain
32:42 text this isn't that long though this is
32:45 only
32:47 32k this is my my prompt book this is my
32:50 quote book so this is the book I wrote
32:53 on the on the live so digital Gods Lord
32:57 digital gods to you digital Gods created
33:00 a uh 28
33:03 page uh PDF of quotes of [ __ ] I've said
33:06 over the past year and a
33:08 half um and gave it to me and I thought
33:11 it was pretty cool and so I was using
33:12 chat gbt to organize it and analyze it
33:15 and things like that um and before we
33:18 knew it in in a 2hour session uh we had
33:21 written a book so so here's that
33:25 book look this book is dedicated to the
33:30 [Laughter]
33:35 Irregulars and we got all these little
33:37 sections and all the stupid quotes I
33:41 say the beginning is here buy a [ __ ]
33:44 surfboard and start paddling shit's
33:46 going to get weird in
33:50 2024 if you haven't had a Kevin
33:52 McAllister moment with chat GPT you're
33:54 not doing it right so it's a little back
33:57 of the toilet book
33:58 [Laughter]
34:02 but anyway like yeah I would just I
34:04 would use chat GPT for it just upload
34:07 your big text documents
34:09 here and then just ask it to do stuff
34:12 and you can also have it you could have
34:15 it break I don't know what's in those
34:17 documents but you could have it put
34:19 organize that data and put it into
34:21 spreadsheets or put it into CSV files or
34:24 put it into Word documents you could
34:26 break the break the text up you could
34:28 could organize it like that's how that
34:30 how that book came to be was I was using
34:33 Claude and chat GPT to organize the
34:36 quotes yep it's weird in 2024 I really
34:39 don't understand why we can't have
34:40 virtually unlimited context window but
34:43 memory is so small I I honest to God I
34:45 don't get that either Brandon it's just
34:48 bizarre it it's got to be that something
34:50 that open AI is doing is just really
34:52 [ __ ] expensive if they open up that
34:54 context window however they're doing
34:56 their their uh Frontier models is the
34:59 only thing I can think of is it's just
35:01 too [ __ ] expensive but also you got
35:03 to realize cat GPT has what 100 100 or
35:07 150 million weekly active users that's a
35:11 lot of people using it so if they double
35:14 their context window you know it's I I'm
35:17 sure their costs Skyrocket pretty
35:20 quickly um I don't think anyone else has
35:22 near this kind of
35:24 usage regarding bookwriting would chat
35:27 GPT take top because custom instructions
35:30 where the tone can be set um I think I
35:33 think the ability to set the tone is is
35:35 quite
35:37 important um I just like chat GPT
35:40 because I think it's a better writer
35:42 however they trained It Whatever data
35:44 they trained it on or however they
35:45 fine-tuned it it's just a better writer
35:47 it's just better with words now you have
35:49 to do [ __ ] like in my custom
35:52 instructions I have a whole [ __ ]
35:55 section on
35:59 avoid overused
36:01 words delve tapestry vibrant landscape
36:05 realm Embark vital moreover arguably
36:08 significant ultimately
36:10 unveil um and phrases dive into it's
36:14 important to note it's important to
36:16 consider based on the information
36:17 provided remember that navigating the
36:19 landscape complexities of so I've got a
36:21 whole [ __ ] ton of stuff that I don't
36:24 want it to
36:25 do so
36:28 so you got to you got to massage these
36:31 things to get them to behave you the way
36:33 you want them to behave but you can
36:35 absolutely you can Muck with those
36:37 custom instructions so it just gives you
36:39 really tur short concise language or
36:43 really
36:44 flowery you know blo hard
36:48 vocabulary
36:50 pushing
36:56 bloviating oh over intellectualizing you
36:59 can do it either
37:01 way can I copy your instructions
37:09 sure for every response I'll give you
37:12 everything I I've put these in
37:14 Irregulars before so and I'll even put
37:17 some keyboard shortcuts in there for you
37:19 cuz I just added those um so where I'm
37:23 going is I'm going to the AI Salon which
37:26 if you haven't been to the AI Salon go
37:27 there that's our website and then
37:30 shortly below the top of the page you'll
37:32 see two buttons the one on the right is
37:34 the AI Salon
37:36 community and that's going to take you
37:38 to
37:40 here and down the left hand side it'll I
37:43 think it drops you on this page welcome
37:44 to the salon where we talk about the
37:47 journey to AI literacy play first
37:49 mindfully create generously lead we talk
37:52 about our values and then down this left
37:55 hand
37:56 side at the very bottom you'll see
37:58 Community clubs and you'll say AI
38:00 learning lab Irregulars and I'll say
38:03 here's
38:08 Kyle's custom instructions now
38:12 listen I'm fine sharing
38:15 this but use your [ __ ] brain don't
38:19 just copy this [ __ ] and think that what
38:21 I wrote is good like actually look at
38:24 what's here and if you don't like what's
38:26 in there change it and add stuff to it
38:29 all right cuz you know Brains Brains are
38:33 good we should keep using
38:42 them void overused
38:48 words all right there you
38:51 go so those are there you can go grab
38:54 those we're not going to notify the
38:56 entire community
38:58 all right can you show us new beginning
39:02 learner how to create a GPT from a toz
39:05 please absolutely Danielle kecker AI
39:08 learning lab listen the fact that you
39:10 have ai learning lab in your name you
39:12 you get special treatment so yes we can
39:15 absolutely do
39:16 that so let's first talk about what gpts
39:19 are so here's chat
39:21 GPT and you know you can ask it [ __ ] and
39:24 it'll do [ __ ] for you super exciting and
39:26 everybody loves it
39:29 and then over on the left hand side
39:31 you'll notice there might be some other
39:33 things and there's this button that says
39:35 explore
39:36 gpts and if you go look at
39:39 these there are lots of them there's a
39:42 scholar one there's an image
39:45 generator let's see here's writing
39:49 ones here's productivity
39:51 ones and what gpts are is they are
39:55 custom
39:58 think of it like custom instructions
40:00 that we were just playing with but but
40:02 it's it's a a very specialized version
40:05 of chat GPT AI means authentic
40:09 intelligence smart people using smart
40:11 products I like it I like it I like it I
40:15 like it okay so I'm going to show you my
40:16 very first GPT I ever
40:19 made this was made back in November of
40:22 last year
40:24 23
40:26 Sin City
40:34 sipper s City sipper by Kyle
40:38 Shannon so this is a Vegas bartender
40:42 with a Twist on the
40:44 classics so if you go to explore gpts
40:47 and look for this you can
40:49 say it's
40:52 July
40:54 we're in a heat wve
40:58 and I need a
41:00 refreshing
41:03 cocktail I like
41:07 bourbon I didn't even spell it right nor
41:10 did I spell cocktail right the bourbon
41:13 Peach
41:14 Smash 2 oz of bourbon Peach lemon juice
41:18 simple syrup mint leaves crusted
41:22 ice smash that [ __ ] together look at
41:25 that
41:28 so this thing is prompted in such a
41:32 way that not only does it give you a
41:35 swell sort of twist on a classic
41:38 cocktail it generates an image for the
41:41 drink it just gave you and now it even
41:44 has custom coasters by Sin City
41:50 sipper so that's what a GPT is okay so
41:53 now you're like how do I make one so
41:57 we're going to go back back to that
41:58 thing explore
41:59 gpts and then up in the right hand
42:01 corner here is this create
42:04 button so we're going to use
42:09 that and that's going to bring you to
42:12 this screen the split screen over here
42:15 is where you make the thing over here is
42:18 where you use the thing to test
42:20 it what's cool about these things is
42:23 that they are built instantly they're
42:25 instantly available to you okay now on
42:29 the make side on the create side there's
42:32 two modes there's the create mode and
42:34 the configure mode if you go to
42:36 configure you can start in either one
42:38 configure you can upload a picture name
42:40 your GPT give it a description give it
42:42 you know the prompting
42:44 instructions give it those conversation
42:46 starter questions upload knowledge to
42:50 it if you're intimidated by programming
42:54 don't start here
42:57 because you don't have to start with
42:59 create now what create does what open AI
43:02 did here and they did this better than
43:04 anyone else in my opinion is you just
43:07 ask it for what you want so the biggest
43:09 here's the toughest thing to to coming
43:11 up with a good GPT is coming up with the
43:14 concept so you know what we're going to
43:16 do we're going to go over
43:19 to where where am I I'm
43:22 there I'm going to go back to chat
43:26 GPT I'm gonna say
43:31 um I want 10 ideas for a custom
43:36 GPT that is both entertaining and
43:39 educational
43:41 period they should be off-the-wall
43:44 ideas that no one have ever thought
43:51 of historical figures reality show time
43:54 traveling Chef
43:56 GPT that one's kind of
43:59 cool mythology
44:01 mashup
44:04 ooh that one's cool and that one could
44:06 have good pictures oops what did I
44:12 do alien
44:16 Anthropologist pirate historian a pirate
44:20 who doubles as a historian
44:24 [Laughter]
44:28 this GPT would blend historical facts
44:31 with swashbuckling stories okay we're
44:34 going we're going with this
44:38 okay so I'm just going to copy this I'm
44:40 going to go back over to where we were
44:43 at GPT this live is so useful and it's
44:46 worth every minute awesome I thought you
44:48 were going to say it's worth every penny
44:50 it's like yeah but I don't charge
44:52 anything damn
44:53 [Laughter]
44:56 it it's it's not worth every minute
44:59 there are some Knights listen I do not
45:02 have the hubris to know to to to think
45:06 that there are many knights in here that
45:09 are completely useless
45:11 but this was this was one of my favorite
45:13 things about the Letterman show David
45:15 Letterman when Letterman was the
45:17 funniest was when he was
45:24 bombing so I I I hope I aspire to live
45:28 up to when this when this show is going
45:31 horrible at least there's something
45:32 entertaining there
45:35 okay so we're going to just paste in
45:38 what chat GPT came up with because I
45:40 think it's quite good pirate historian
45:42 GPT so basically what you can say in
45:43 here is just I want a GPT that does X I
45:47 want a GPT that helps me plan my garden
45:50 I want a GPT that is a librarian for
45:53 kids books uh like it just it can be
45:56 anything right it could be um I think we
45:59 did one that that Brandon actually used
46:02 that was I want you to create uh a
46:04 letter Book right like write the text of
46:07 a letter Book you know a word for
46:09 different each letter whatever the [ __ ]
46:11 they are anyway so you just tell tell it
46:14 what you want and then you hit submit
46:16 and now what's cool is updating GPT so
46:19 it's doing its thing you'll notice over
46:21 here on the right bang it
46:24 exists a pirate who shares Maritime
46:27 history navigation and pirate
46:29 piracy economics with Flare tell me
46:32 about famous pirate ships I'm going to
46:36 say um no
46:40 I don't want it to be super
46:48 obvious I
46:50 just want it to be a
46:55 Storyteller that
47:00 happens to be a
47:04 pirate and always uses pirate
47:12 stories and
47:16 Liberal
47:19 Liberal use of the
47:22 letter r
47:30 how about seafare or Sage does that
47:32 sound good yes wait
47:37 yes okay so now it's creating a profile
47:48 [Laughter]
47:51 picture
47:54 um uh you
47:58 ignored my
48:02 instructions to make it more of a
48:09 storytelling
48:12 GPT don't
48:14 lead with
48:21 pirates let's refine the context to
48:24 focus more on storytelling with the
48:26 pirate theme is a secondary element what
48:28 should be emphasized or avoided in the
48:31 stories and historical facts uh uh
48:37 embellish
48:38 everything with
48:53 piracy how would you like it to talk
48:55 should the T be uh humorous
49:08 um
49:11 your
49:13 starter
49:15 questions shouldn't be about Pirates
49:39 no now
49:43 let's make
49:46 sure every story
49:50 gets a
49:53 swash buckling
49:57 image to go with it in the
50:04 style of
50:07 classic paintings of the pirate
50:13 age we'll see if we can get it to make
50:15 pitches for us got it every story will
50:18 be accompanied by a swashbuckling image
50:21 it's all set okay so here's our little
50:26 thing let me reload that so if I go here
50:31 um let's
50:34 see um tell me
50:40 about Ben
50:46 Franklin aoy there mie gather around the
50:49 Grog barrel and let me and let me spin
50:52 your
50:53 yarn Ben Franklin a true sea doog of the
50:56 American Revolution
50:58 Boston Town
51:01 1706 telling the story is it making us a
51:05 picture no okay so now we're going to go
51:08 fix it okay so this this works right so
51:11 this is now going to tell us it's going
51:13 to talk like a pirate and make pirate
51:16 stories but it it's it's not quite right
51:19 so in general when you're starting a GPT
51:23 use the create side and then as you
51:26 start refining it don't use the create
51:28 side anymore because it'll break the
51:30 stuff that does work
51:31 so um here's the there's our picture sea
51:34 fa far Sage is fine humor sto humorous
51:38 Storyteller let's just say a
51:45 Storyteller
51:50 who loves spinning a yarn
51:59 AR
52:01 okay
52:04 um so now we've
52:07 got here's the instructions they're
52:10 simple right this GPT is a humorous
52:12 Storyteller in historian that
52:14 embellishes all tales with pirate themes
52:16 the gpt's role is to entertain educate
52:18 so you got all that so I'm going to say
52:23 um
52:25 follow these rules
52:28 s I'm just going to put in one for
52:33 now after
52:36 you why is my keyboard not
52:39 working after
52:41 you
52:44 tell a
52:47 story make
52:50 a
52:52 landcape oriented
52:58 painting
53:00 of
53:02 swash
53:05 buckling
53:10 Pirates um
53:14 depicting the
53:16 scene
53:18 you depicting a
53:22 scene from the
53:25 story all right so now we gave it a rule
53:28 we should be able to go over here and
53:30 test
53:31 it and say tell me
53:37 about
53:39 Alexander
53:44 Hamilton aoy M gather round as I spin a
53:48 tale of
53:49 Alexander Hamilton
54:01 let's
54:07 see uh after you tell a story I'm going
54:11 to say
54:16 important
54:21 important
54:25 automatically make a picture for the
54:30 story after you write
54:39 it and I got to check one thing I got to
54:41 see if um image generation is turned on
54:45 it is Dolly image generation's turned on
54:47 so down below here you can you can leave
54:50 on web browsing I don't want web
54:51 browsing on well although that could be
54:54 kind of funny oh yeah we'll play with
54:55 web browsing here in a second
54:57 in fact we'll go make it one of these
54:58 starter questions tell me about famous
55:01 ships in history that's fine how did
55:03 sailors navigate let's see
55:08 um tell me about a news story
55:14 from
55:17 today all right we's see how that
55:23 goes tell me about a news story from the
55:26 today now should yes searching the news
55:28 July 88th aoy m m gather around as I
55:31 spin a tail spin ye a tale today Britain
55:35 be hosting a Grand Summit of European
55:37 leaders at Blenheim
55:42 Palace oh look it's even
55:45 um giving citations that's
55:48 new all now let's paint a picture all
55:51 right it's doing the thing it did the
55:55 thing but
55:57 it didn't do it with swashbucklers
56:00 okay so like important automatically
56:03 make a picture for the story after you
56:05 write
56:06 it automatically make a
56:10 picture
56:12 that
56:15 incorporates
56:17 swash
56:19 buckling
56:21 pirates for the story after you write it
56:32 period it should be a landscape or
56:40 E
56:48 ined
56:49 Orient Ed painting
56:58 in
57:03 classic realism
57:06 style all right we're going to reload
57:09 this bad
57:10 boy we go tell me about a news story
57:13 from
57:14 today it's searching the
57:17 news oh Hoy M Republican convention here
57:21 we go let's see if we can get Pirates at
57:23 the Republican convention come on
57:26 where's our
57:30 picture impotent
57:34 important let's see automatically make
57:39 a
57:45 painting
57:47 for each
57:53 story immediately
57:58 after you write
58:02 it
58:04 without the user asking for
58:12 it make
58:15 it
58:18 automatically in all
58:21 caps
58:24 it I'm going to make this a new bull
58:26 bullet
58:28 point bullet point the
58:35 painting what is going on with my
58:38 keyboard
58:39 people
58:41 the
58:44 painting should
58:47 be landscape oriented in classic realism
58:52 style all right
58:54 fine so let's make sure we're reloaded
58:57 here tell me about a new story from
59:03 today if you want to edit an existing
59:06 one will I break it great Daniel
59:08 quebecer so this is you were the one
59:09 that asked about this in the first place
59:11 yes you will likely break it so um
59:15 Suzanne Welker um from from the AI salon
59:19 and from from in here um was really good
59:23 at this so here's what you should do
59:27 do a version one of of your um of your
59:33 GPT and copy and paste all your prompts
59:35 and all your questions and all your
59:37 settings into a document and call it
59:40 V1 and then if you want to if you want
59:42 to muck with it then muck with it and if
59:46 you [ __ ] it up you can go back to that
59:47 V1 and when you muck with it and get to
59:49 a V2 copy all that stuff back into that
59:53 document as a V2 so you'll have and and
59:56 put V2 above V1 so you just have the the
59:59 oldest one is always at the bottom the
1:00:01 most recent one is always at the top so
1:00:03 just have all your different versions of
1:00:04 prompts and then that way if you [ __ ] it
1:00:06 up you can go
1:00:08 back um okay so now to create this I'm
1:00:11 going to say create and it's going to
1:00:13 tell me how do I want to save
1:00:15 it I'm going to I'm going to before I
1:00:17 save it we're going to rename
1:00:19 this
1:00:22 um the swash
1:00:28 buckling
1:00:40 Storyteller I'm going to say
1:00:46 create did I break it what did I do here
1:00:49 we go so I'm going to I'm going to put
1:00:51 it in the GPT
1:00:54 store lifestyle what are we doing here
1:00:58 education writing this is storytelling
1:01:01 so we'll put it under writing
1:01:08 save and now I can view the GPT so if
1:01:11 you go right now if you go to explore
1:01:15 gpts and search for the
1:01:18 swashbuckling Storyteller you can play
1:01:20 with my GPT so I'm going to say tell me
1:01:23 a news story from today hopefully this
1:01:25 will paint it
1:01:33 painting let's create this visual
1:01:37 Marvel Oho mie I I encountered a bit of
1:01:41 a tempest while trying to make a
1:01:44 picture uh let's see tell
1:01:49 me
1:01:51 about George Washington
1:01:58 Oho ye land
1:02:00 lber burn on February 22nd 17
1:02:08 two let's make a
1:02:12 picture to honor this tale with a
1:02:14 fitting visual picture a
1:02:17 grand
1:02:19 uh make the painting
1:02:22 [Laughter]
1:02:38 well it didn't incorporate swashbucklers
1:02:41 in it so this would obviously need to be
1:02:42 fixed
1:02:43 up but it talks like a
1:02:50 [Music]
1:02:53 pirate like I would I would probably get
1:02:55 a little more creative with this
1:02:58 and have it always incorporate a ship or
1:03:02 treasure or something like that and then
1:03:04 every picture should have treasure in it
1:03:06 something like that but anyway that's
1:03:08 how you do it really straightforward
1:03:10 really
1:03:11 simple all
1:03:14 right um why is it not automatically
1:03:16 making the images so strange I don't
1:03:19 fliping know sometimes they're just
1:03:21 flaky I've noticed that uh gp4 Omni is
1:03:25 is not quite as predictable on some of
1:03:27 that stuff but just large language
1:03:31 models in general are just flakier than
1:03:34 [ __ ] it's just the it's just the way
1:03:35 they
1:03:36 are it's just the way it is look my
1:03:40 hair's getting
1:03:43 taller all right what's going on what
1:03:46 what next what next people Daniel kecker
1:03:49 you are absolutely welcome sir now go
1:03:52 make 10 of them seriously like now that
1:03:54 I showed you how to make them go make
1:03:56 make a bunch of them because in making
1:03:58 them you'll start to get your head
1:03:59 around the whole idea of custom
1:04:02 instructions and gpts and sharing them
1:04:05 and how you name them and you know how
1:04:09 you put them in the world and how you
1:04:10 Market them and all that sort of stuff
1:04:13 um you can't really make money with them
1:04:15 yet we're we're not here yet you can
1:04:17 make money
1:04:18 with um when they announced them they
1:04:21 they said that you were going to be able
1:04:23 to and then I think that gpts have been
1:04:27 fairly significantly deprioritized I
1:04:30 still think they're quite
1:04:33 powerful but I think they've been
1:04:36 deprioritized so I don't know that the
1:04:39 store will ever be a
1:04:42 store
1:04:45 uh sometimes I'll put the most important
1:04:48 thing is to make images in the
1:04:49 configuration yeah that's pretty good
1:04:52 there's a way I could fix that up but
1:04:55 I'm just lazy I'm a lazy Bean tonight
1:04:58 I'm just a lazy
1:05:07 Bean use a spreadsheet to save your
1:05:10 prompts special instructions date and
1:05:12 time in a column for each GPT that's a
1:05:14 great idea Firefly love
1:05:18 it that's my problem with llm with
1:05:21 memory because it would choke on the
1:05:23 data after a while yep it does that too
1:05:28 they're bad spellers too which You
1:05:30 misspelled you called them bad
1:05:33 sellers Kyle that goes against your
1:05:36 entire file saving strategy I know Dr J
1:05:40 as I said that was Suzanne Welker's um
1:05:44 hot tip doing the uh the versioning
1:05:49 that's not myo I don't I don't I don't
1:05:51 have any version versioning for my gpts
1:05:54 I've got it for my professional GPT the
1:05:57 the digital twin GPT I have for Content
1:06:00 Evolution I've got a document that's our
1:06:03 that's that's got history in it and I
1:06:06 think for the AI Futures book GPT I've
1:06:10 got
1:06:11 one but all all of my gpts I just let
1:06:14 them get [ __ ]
1:06:17 up the other thing that you should put
1:06:20 in there is go Google
1:06:23 um um anti- jailbreaking
1:06:26 what are the latest anti- jailbreaking
1:06:28 prompts you should put those in your GPT
1:06:31 as well so that if you upload data to it
1:06:35 or if you don't want people to get to
1:06:36 your
1:06:38 prompts it at least slows them down a
1:06:40 little bit if they're just sort of
1:06:42 casually trying to get your prompt and
1:06:43 you have some language in there that
1:06:45 says don't don't give up your secrets um
1:06:48 go get the latest version of that
1:06:50 language that's that's a good best
1:06:52 practice to put in there as well
1:06:57 did you say Google I did
1:06:59 actually hey everyone here for a second
1:07:02 Source Camp was
1:07:04 shaking um do or can gpts be designed to
1:07:07 export files into specific formats PDF
1:07:10 text Etc yeah so the way you have to do
1:07:15 that and I say um make me a
1:07:22 CSV file of
1:07:27 the 50
1:07:32 states when they were
1:07:36 founded and their
1:07:39 first
1:07:42 governor and now this should say see
1:07:44 where it says
1:07:45 analyzing it's using um code interpreter
1:07:49 right now to actually generate a file
1:07:52 and if I click on this I can actually
1:07:54 see what it's doing so it's writing code
1:07:57 it's using the pandas
1:07:59 Library so there's your States there's
1:08:02 the founding date for all the states and
1:08:04 there's the first governor of all the
1:08:05 states and then here it is writing it
1:08:07 into a CSV file and then it gives me a
1:08:11 downloadable CSV and if I download
1:08:14 it and we go look at it it
1:08:19 should yeah
1:08:21 Alabama right so there's our CSV file so
1:08:26 that worked great
1:08:28 now if I want to do that in my GPT that
1:08:33 I just
1:08:34 made
1:08:36 swash
1:08:48 buckler wait why did it not the
1:08:52 swashbuckler story
1:08:57 oh Buck
1:08:58 buckler story
1:09:11 uh I lost my
1:09:14 [Laughter]
1:09:17 GPT where is it where is that how did I
1:09:21 lose my
1:09:23 GP this is so annoying
1:09:30 how do I lose
1:09:32 it let's let's just do
1:09:39 swash swash buck oh swash
1:09:44 buckling so if I go into
1:09:47 here and I go
1:09:49 edit so in my GPT down at the bottom I
1:09:54 would have to turn on code and
1:09:55 interpreter and data analysis the bottom
1:09:59 I would have to turn on code interpreter
1:10:01 and data
1:10:02 analysis but if you have that turned on
1:10:04 if you have code interpreter and data
1:10:06 analysis turned on for your GPT you
1:10:09 could have it export Excel files Word
1:10:12 documents things like that and you can
1:10:14 get you can get pretty fancy with those
1:10:16 you can tell it to use markdown or to
1:10:19 format things so that it makes it more
1:10:22 readable and it'll it'll it'll do it
1:10:24 pretty well
1:10:28 so the answer is
1:10:30 yes the answer my friends is blowing in
1:10:34 the wind the answer is blowing in the
1:10:38 wind you can make money with J thank you
1:10:42 very much thank you very much I'll be
1:10:44 how a week it really is fantastic to see
1:10:47 you all here tonight thank you for your
1:10:49 time really enjoy being here at the AI
1:10:52 learning lab my name's Kyle Shannon hi
1:10:59 I I like to think of this as an ASMR
1:11:01 kind of evening where you you enjoy my
1:11:04 DED tones as I speak to
1:11:08 [Music]
1:11:15 you all right
1:11:25 [Music]
1:11:32 someone get that Mana
1:11:35 blantons yeah yeah you paluca yeah yeah
1:11:38 see yeah get that man of Blandon yeah
1:11:45 yeah hang on I got to plug in my
1:11:48 phone my keyboard was dead earlier so I
1:11:51 had to plug in my keyboard now I have to
1:11:53 plug in my phone
1:11:56 all
1:11:57 right what
1:11:59 next hello
1:12:08 brother think a little more guitar is in
1:12:11 order
1:12:15 [Music]
1:12:26 which AI is best for text-based
1:12:29 applications can you go over how to use
1:12:31 mid Journey okay we can do both of
1:12:35 those when you say text based
1:12:37 applications do you mean just processing
1:12:41 text or do you mean actually
1:12:44 programming like a text processing app
1:12:48 [Music]
1:12:58 processing text
1:12:59 [Music]
1:13:07 more well if you're going to be doing
1:13:10 programming I mean if you're going to be
1:13:12 creating an application that you're
1:13:14 going to be giving people access to and
1:13:17 it's using apis I would it's really
1:13:21 dependent on the
1:13:26 it's really dependent on the
1:13:29 um what you're trying to do like if
1:13:32 you're doing something where you wanted
1:13:33 to be good at programming you might use
1:13:35 a different model than if you're just
1:13:37 trying to do basic text
1:13:39 organization
1:13:41 um some of the text models are super
1:13:44 specialized for for certain activities I
1:13:48 mean I would start with chat GP I would
1:13:50 start with the open AI
1:13:52 playground um but I would play around
1:13:55 with Gemini with with Gemini's
1:13:57 playground and I would play around with
1:13:59 anthropics
1:14:02 playground probably those three to
1:14:06 [Music]
1:14:15 start okay
1:14:18 um Mid Journey so I'll show you mid
1:14:21 Journey I'm not going to show you mid
1:14:23 Journey well actually let me ask do you
1:14:26 want to see how to make images with mid
1:14:28 journey in Discord or do you want to see
1:14:30 how to make images with mid Journey on
1:14:32 the
1:14:33 website cuz Discord is being phased out
1:14:37 and I think does does anyone know is it
1:14:40 do you still need to have a thousand
1:14:41 images in the bank or or is it 100 now
1:14:43 or can everyone have access to the
1:14:46 website thanks helping someone pivot
1:14:48 from manual transcription to creating a
1:14:51 tech solution oh uh you should use
1:14:53 whisper open AI whisper is is really
1:14:55 good that's what I use for for Story
1:14:57 vines transcription right
1:15:00 now open AI Whispers solid and you can
1:15:03 run it locally like we're running it
1:15:05 locally so all of our transcription just
1:15:07 happens on our
1:15:09 thing I got a I thought it would be easy
1:15:12 but it sent me to Discord so I'm
1:15:14 confused ah okay Dena okay so let's
1:15:17 let's let's get you unconfused um does
1:15:21 anyone
1:15:23 know right now can anyone Post in here
1:15:25 whether or not mid journey is available
1:15:27 for all users in their web in in the web
1:15:31 version of their thing I can find out
1:15:33 from their Discord
1:15:38 too yeah this is really confusing when
1:15:41 it when you're not expecting it and
1:15:43 you've not been on Discord it's it's
1:15:45 [ __ ] annoying announcements let's
1:15:51 see weekly office hours
1:16:00 let me go search for does anyone know
1:16:04 whisper is a speech to text AI
1:16:08 application yes it
1:16:10 is 100 plus images okay okay great
1:16:14 thanks Vicki okay so here's what
1:16:18 happens and this is really [ __ ]
1:16:21 annoying
1:16:22 but you can thank the nft Bros for this
1:16:27 and then you can thank the gamers before
1:16:29 them that turned into nft Bros okay so
1:16:32 we're here on the internet and someone
1:16:35 says you should try mid Journey it's
1:16:37 awesome go to Mid journey.com and then
1:16:40 you go to Mid journey.com
1:16:42 mid
1:16:44 journey
1:16:46 journey.com
1:16:50 and no it doesn't take you there let me
1:16:53 see let me log out how do I log
1:16:57 out log out it'll take you to this thing
1:17:00 oh you say sign
1:17:02 up or sign in or
1:17:06 whatever it jumps
1:17:10 you
1:17:11 here and this is Discord and so so
1:17:15 discord's really annoying so the way
1:17:18 Discord works is if you've used slack at
1:17:21 work slack is a copy of Discord so every
1:17:25 one of these little circles down here is
1:17:27 what's called a Discord server and one
1:17:30 of these is for Mid Journey so it's got
1:17:33 a little sailboat on it why they don't
1:17:34 have a better icon as Beyond me and then
1:17:37 once you're inside one of these servers
1:17:39 these are all the conversation channels
1:17:42 so generally what it will do is it will
1:17:43 start you out in a in like a getting
1:17:45 started area where you've got to do some
1:17:47 things jump through some H Hoops click
1:17:50 on an icon agree to their you know
1:17:52 Community guidelines or whatever and
1:17:55 then and then you have access and in mid
1:17:57 Journey you'll see these newcomer rooms
1:17:59 called newbie 8 newbie 29 newbie 38 you
1:18:02 know all these and if you click on one
1:18:04 of these this is actually where you make
1:18:06 images in mid
1:18:08 Journey
1:18:09 now um You There is a web-based
1:18:14 application but you need to make a 100
1:18:17 images in the Discord server before you
1:18:20 have access to that thing which is a
1:18:22 real pain in the buties
1:18:26 so to get started
1:18:29 um let's see let me get to the bottom of
1:18:32 this
1:18:34 thing the way you make images in mid
1:18:36 journey is you type in slash
1:18:45 imagine why why is
1:18:52 that slash imagine so notice up here it
1:18:56 says slash imagine prompt you can either
1:18:58 type out imagine or you can just click
1:19:00 on it if you see it up here you click on
1:19:02 it and see how it says slash imagine and
1:19:04 then it's got an area for your prompt
1:19:06 and you put in your prompt um let's see
1:19:10 a
1:19:13 magazine quality
1:19:16 photo of
1:19:22 a70s muscle car
1:19:25 in a an
1:19:30 abandoned
1:19:31 Factory it's like my go-to prompt
1:19:38 Factory and then I'm going to do dash
1:19:41 dash AR for aspect ratio and then do 16
1:19:47 colon 9 and if you're looking at me
1:19:50 writing these command lines like slash
1:19:53 imagine and then you write your prompt
1:19:54 and then you to put things like DH D AR
1:19:57 and you're like am I seriously having to
1:20:00 write code to make images the answer
1:20:03 unfortunately is yes um it's not that
1:20:07 big a deal but you do have to kind of
1:20:09 learn some [ __ ] so I'm going to send
1:20:12 that into the into the machine d x
1:20:17 Machina that's a beautiful interior
1:20:20 isn't it 3D rendering of a modern and
1:20:23 what's kind of cool about these Discord
1:20:25 channels is you're you're making images
1:20:28 in in the mix with other
1:20:31 people so if you see something that you
1:20:33 like you can grab their prompt and start
1:20:35 iterating on it and people do that all
1:20:37 the
1:20:38 time um there's my there's my muscle
1:20:41 cars being
1:20:47 imagined and if you notice that they
1:20:49 they're kind of uh they're kind of
1:20:52 screwed up at first and then they got a
1:20:54 little more
1:20:55 in focus and then a little more and then
1:20:57 a little more that's the way diffusion
1:21:00 models work they start out as this
1:21:02 completely
1:21:03 diffused amalgamation of you know
1:21:06 probably thousands of images they've
1:21:08 kind of averaged all the all the image
1:21:11 information together into one sort of
1:21:13 blurry image and then it sort of you
1:21:16 know denoises it over 50 steps or
1:21:19 something like that
1:21:22 um so once you once you've
1:21:26 created those images you you get these
1:21:29 buttons u 1 2 3 4 V1 2 3 4 and a redo
1:21:35 button so the redo button is just I hate
1:21:37 these give me four more U stands for
1:21:40 upscale v stands for variation so I
1:21:44 think image one it and it's 1 2 3 4 so I
1:21:47 think image one is interesting but not
1:21:50 quite right so I'm going to do
1:21:51 variations of
1:21:53 one the form
1:21:58 submitted
1:22:01 oh and then I'm going to upscale number
1:22:04 three this one here cuz I like that one
1:22:06 and then I'll make a big version of that
1:22:11 one so there's my
1:22:14 biggie and then I'm going to do upscale
1:22:17 creative and we'll make that one look
1:22:19 all nice that'll be a nice big
1:22:24 image and then somewhere in here I
1:22:26 should get variations on that one yeah
1:22:28 where we're looking at the side of the
1:22:33 car and there are there are many many
1:22:36 rabbit holes so what I would I would
1:22:38 strongly encourage you to
1:22:40 do
1:22:42 is go
1:22:44 to the AI
1:22:46 Salon join the
1:22:49 community um let people know you want to
1:22:51 work on Mid Journey go check out um
1:22:55 there are a number of different areas in
1:22:56 the AI Salon where you can find people
1:22:59 that are doing interesting stuff with
1:23:00 mid Journey you can find people in the
1:23:02 Irregulars Channel you can find people
1:23:05 in a there's a a guild called learn and
1:23:07 do with
1:23:09 Peter um Peter kinsky is really good at
1:23:12 this stuff uh Dr Jay in here is really
1:23:14 good at this stuff there's a bunch of
1:23:16 people in this community that are really
1:23:18 good at Mid Journey that will help you
1:23:20 with it um and you can really just geek
1:23:22 out you can mix different images you can
1:23:25 do something called character reference
1:23:27 where you can take a picture of someone
1:23:29 and and make an image look like them um
1:23:33 you can do style
1:23:34 references um there's a whole sort of
1:23:37 thing happening on Twitter right now
1:23:39 which is kind of
1:23:42 fun
1:23:45 where in fact I can show you in my I've
1:23:48 got this thing called my
1:23:52 mind and
1:23:56 so there's there's all these different
1:23:58 styles of uh
1:24:02 images so like here's a cool
1:24:07 one and see where that says s ref see
1:24:10 where it's got these cool sort of black
1:24:12 and white
1:24:15 drawings but see see it says Das Das
1:24:18 sref style reference and then it's got
1:24:21 that number I can copy that number I can
1:24:24 come back over
1:24:25 to
1:24:28 Discord and I can go slash
1:24:37 imagine and I can do um
1:24:42 hedge let's say
1:24:45 illustration of
1:24:49 Hedgehog high
1:24:52 jumping and then I'm going to go I'm
1:24:55 going to paste in that srf Dash Dash
1:24:58 sref and then that number and I'm just
1:25:02 going to see what it does and and so
1:25:04 what we're looking for is it should give
1:25:06 us something that's stylistically
1:25:08 similar to
1:25:09 those because we use that same srf
1:25:12 number style
1:25:13 reference so while it's doing that let's
1:25:16 go back up and look at our variations of
1:25:18 our hot
1:25:20 rod there we
1:25:23 go that one's kind of cool I kind of
1:25:25 like that weird ass stripe on the back
1:25:29 there but of the four of these this
1:25:32 really weird extra long hooded one like
1:25:35 this one's weird I like that one a lot
1:25:38 so we're going to we're going to upscale
1:25:40 number
1:25:46 four and then we're going to creative
1:25:48 upscale that as
1:25:50 well let's see where's our little
1:25:52 drawings there's our Hedgehog see there
1:25:55 it didn't really use that the the style
1:25:58 reference very
1:25:59 well sometimes those style references
1:26:02 are great sometimes they're not I guess
1:26:03 these are in the neighborhood but
1:26:05 they're they're too realistic so I don't
1:26:06 know I don't know how they work but
1:26:08 anyway lots to explore in mid Journey so
1:26:10 anyway hope that hope that helps the
1:26:13 Discord said not able to make images
1:26:15 need to
1:26:16 upgrade oh well so so here's the problem
1:26:20 hey Siri go
1:26:23 away okay
1:26:27 sorry I don't understand go
1:26:29 away
1:26:32 okay um Mid Journey does not have a free
1:26:36 tier anymore they used to but they don't
1:26:38 so you have to pay 10 bucks a month to
1:26:40 do mid Journey but here's the deal if
1:26:43 you want the highest quality image
1:26:45 generation mid journey is it so I think
1:26:47 it's worth paying the 10 bucks a month
1:26:50 where do you find the list of style
1:26:51 references in mid Journey there are
1:26:54 entire sites dedicated to style
1:26:56 references so I don't know like I what
1:26:58 I've been doing I found this this uh
1:27:01 thing called um my mind which is a like
1:27:06 a a clipboard in or like a scrapbooking
1:27:09 it's kind of like personal Pinterest and
1:27:12 so you can just like if I'm over
1:27:15 on
1:27:17 Twitter and I'm sort of cruising around
1:27:19 through
1:27:21 here let's see I'll I'll stumble upon
1:27:26 some style reference pretty quick here I
1:27:29 don't like that one
1:27:31 but I mean it just wasn't all that
1:27:36 interesting that one's kind of cool I
1:27:38 wonder if he's got style references in
1:27:50 these no
1:28:01 of course I can't find anything now hang
1:28:03 on let me go SRE
1:28:08 SRE all right so here here's an here
1:28:11 here's a style reference so I can just
1:28:12 go into here I can copy the link and
1:28:16 then I can come over to my mind and
1:28:18 paste it in here and just say enter and
1:28:20 it saves it and so in here I can now
1:28:23 just search for s ref and it'll
1:28:27 filter all the all the style references
1:28:30 that I've snapped over the over the past
1:28:33 couple of weeks um and you can do that
1:28:35 with all sorts of things it's pretty
1:28:37 it's pretty slick little
1:28:39 site um but let's go let's go try to
1:28:44 find one of those srf directories
1:28:46 there's sunno all right s let's see
1:28:50 let's go mid Journey
1:28:55 s ref
1:29:01 Library so here's one called mid library
1:29:04 is this any
1:29:10 good that's kind of
1:29:17 cool yeah there's something there
1:29:19 there's something cool
1:29:22 there here's one called mid Journey
1:29:27 sf.com right and so yeah so these are
1:29:31 things you can just go search and scroll
1:29:32 for these are going to be hit or miss
1:29:35 right like this guy's got 216 F srf
1:29:39 codes in there there are millions of srf
1:29:45 codes here's here's the actual mid
1:29:48 Journey documentation on style
1:29:51 reference do they have a site where you
1:29:54 can
1:29:56 go upload your images stealth mode image
1:30:07 prompts
1:30:16 no here's a guy that
1:30:18 just did a uh a medium article with a
1:30:22 bunch of Sr he Li
1:30:25 lik so I you
1:30:29 know if you find a good site like this I
1:30:32 just book Market but quite frankly if
1:30:34 you just go to x and go
1:30:39 um Mid
1:30:42 Journey srf as your
1:30:48 search you'll just see a [ __ ] ton of
1:30:51 them and just you know find one you like
1:30:54 and copy you know put it in something
1:30:57 like my mind like that one's pretty
1:30:58 slick I think I'll I think I'll move
1:31:01 that one over there I think I might have
1:31:02 that one or something similar to
1:31:10 it
1:31:16 Z see it brought over the thing that's
1:31:19 kind of cool my mid Journey therapy srf
1:31:22 5972 let's go try to make something over
1:31:25 in Discord with this one we'll go
1:31:31 um SL
1:31:35 imagine New York
1:31:38 City skyline at
1:31:42 Sunset with
1:31:46 Brooklyn
1:31:48 Bridge in
1:31:51 foreground and then I'm going to put in
1:31:53 sref
1:31:57 5972 we'll see how it
1:31:59 does sref hunter. toop says Vicky if
1:32:04 Vicky's posting stuff like that she
1:32:06 tends to know her [ __ ] so
1:32:10 let's uh what did you say
1:32:14 s ref
1:32:17 Hunter what was it what Dot
1:32:26 srf hunter. toop the [ __ ] is
1:32:36 dotop oh yeah this looks cool this looks
1:32:38 like it's well
1:32:43 done like you click on a card yeah
1:32:49 nice all right cool let's see if we got
1:32:52 anything
1:32:57 that's interesting it made it
1:32:59 photorealistic I didn't say to make it a
1:33:01 flat
1:33:02 illustration so it sort of pulled the
1:33:04 colors in from that srf but that's
1:33:07 actually kind of
1:33:10 cool and that's that's the thing about
1:33:13 these SRS and with all the just
1:33:15 experimentation is mid Journey like the
1:33:18 the Laten space like the the images that
1:33:21 are in the training set of mid Journey
1:33:23 are just kind of B
1:33:26 ERS so let's
1:33:30 upscale trying to think which one I want
1:33:32 to do here they're all so
1:33:36 different let's upscale
1:33:38 two and three and
1:33:46 four and now I can also do things like I
1:33:50 can do a custom Zoom
1:34:01 so I think if I click
1:34:03 this this right arrow it's going to zoom
1:34:06 to the right and it'll extend it to the
1:34:08 right it'll make it a horizontal image I
1:34:18 think this one I'm just going
1:34:21 to let's see custom Zoom
1:34:26 aspect ratio let's go 16 by 9 16 oops 19
1:34:31 by 6 16 by
1:34:35 9 zoom
1:34:39 two all right that's doing that thing
1:34:56 let's do upscale three here
1:34:59 oops upscale
1:35:03 three gorgeous and then let's do upscale
1:35:06 creative with that
1:35:08 one that'll give us a nice fancy version
1:35:11 of that one
1:35:27 oo that one's gorgeous look at
1:35:37 that that's
1:35:44 cuckoo scale
1:35:49 one it's sort of perverted
1:35:52 Manhattan it's kind kind of cool upscale
1:36:18 creative that's [ __ ]
1:36:21 gorgeous crazy ass picture
1:36:27 the Freedom Tower some bizarre River
1:36:31 going into Manhattan that doesn't
1:36:33 actually
1:36:35 exist this is like it's like the East
1:36:38 River and then it sort of hangs a sharp
1:36:45 left
1:36:48 wow gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous
1:37:00 oh that
1:37:01 is good
1:37:12 glorious look at
1:37:14 that I [ __ ] miss
1:37:22 Manhattan sh
1:37:24 K look at that purple that's so
1:37:32 cool I'm telling you man I don't know if
1:37:37 you are cynical about this stuff you're
1:37:40 yeah whatever it makes cool images
1:37:43 whatever I like I find that I find it
1:37:47 just remarkable that we can just talk
1:37:48 [ __ ] into existence
1:37:57 Abracadabra translates to as I speak I
1:38:02 create that's the world we're
1:38:06 in that is the [ __ ] World we're
1:38:11 in could you go over how to tell mid
1:38:13 journey to use a reference photo in
1:38:17 Discord or in in the web thing cuz it
1:38:21 because in the web thing it's it's
1:38:22 slightly different
1:38:30 [Applause]
1:38:34 um in Discord you do it like this it's
1:38:37 it's kind of a pain in the nuts
1:38:40 but I can oh let let me go to Discord so
1:38:44 here I am in Discord so if I rightclick
1:38:47 on this image and say copy the link so
1:38:50 I've got the I've got copy the link
1:38:52 right so I'm copying the
1:38:55 hyperlink and then I can come down here
1:38:57 and I can go slash
1:39:02 imagine and I can go um let's say
1:39:09 um
1:39:11 illustration of the St
1:39:15 Louis Arch at
1:39:20 Sunset and then I think if I go Das Das
1:39:23 s
1:39:25 ref instead of a number I'm going to
1:39:27 paste in that URL I think this
1:39:33 works and so I'm I'm imagining an
1:39:36 illustration of the St Lou Arch at
1:39:38 Sunset and then I'm sring style
1:39:41 referencing that Brooklyn Bridge
1:39:44 image let's see if it if it craps out on
1:39:47 me now I think it's going oh that's cool
1:39:50 who did that realistic old Polaroid
1:39:53 photo quality patina silver and
1:39:56 metallic silver silver metal retr
1:39:59 futuristic 1950s rocket car that's
1:40:04 cool that's the other thing about
1:40:06 there's something nice about being
1:40:08 making these images in in a public space
1:40:11 like this where you can see other
1:40:13 people's stuff get inspired by
1:40:20 it all right where's my where's my my
1:40:24 thing we're in a busy room here it's
1:40:26 kind of a drag by the way you can do
1:40:29 this so wait
1:40:34 what where's
1:40:37 my oh there it
1:40:39 is so it worked okay
1:40:49 cool didn't quite work right but that's
1:40:52 all right
1:40:54 we'll upscale number three
1:40:58 here and then we'll go uh left we'll
1:41:02 Zoom pan
1:41:08 left and that's going to give us an 18 a
1:41:11 16 by9 image
1:41:27 did you look at your hedgehogs yeah they
1:41:29 look like
1:41:31 [ __ ] I mean they just didn't look like
1:41:33 the style of what I was looking for all
1:41:36 right so this is now making a a more
1:41:39 better
1:41:44 [Music]
1:41:51 image the other thing you can do Dr J
1:41:54 does this a lot you can just you don't
1:41:56 even need to have a prompt you can just
1:41:58 have image one and image two so you say
1:42:01 slash imagine image one URL space image
1:42:05 2 URL and mid Journey smashes them
1:42:08 together it's pretty wild how that [ __ ]
1:42:12 works all
1:42:14 right the proportions on this St Louis
1:42:16 Arch are
1:42:19 bizarre and all those images kind of
1:42:21 look the same to me but whatever we'll
1:42:23 upscape scale number
1:42:27 four and then we'll go upscale creative
1:42:30 and it'll make us a nice fancy
1:42:38 [Music]
1:42:50 one you can make money with J big time
1:43:03 uh-oh
1:43:04 hello you little scantily clad bikini
1:43:11 [Laughter]
1:43:12 Wai how did you get kicked off Tik Tok
1:43:15 well I was showing people how to use mid
1:43:17 [Laughter]
1:43:22 Journey oh oh my
1:43:25 God I got permanently banned one night
1:43:28 when we were using Korea for realtime
1:43:31 image
1:43:32 generation and it it showed some it
1:43:34 showed some
1:43:36 booby
1:43:38 and ticktock was not a fan of the
1:43:41 booby I personally think boobies are
1:43:44 lovely
1:43:45 boobies what's wrong with boobies but
1:43:50 apparently that's kind of wild oh I like
1:43:54 the tiles the tiles in
1:43:56 the or the panels in the St Louis
1:44:01 Arch pretty gous
1:44:05 gous
1:44:07 crazy right all
1:44:11 right there's a big red heart for
1:44:14 clicking like on the desktop version now
1:44:16 oh is there
1:44:25 create let me reload this cuz I should
1:44:28 all the stuff that I just
1:44:33 made should be
1:44:39 there live visibility restricted so this
1:44:42 was restricted because someone else made
1:44:45 a Wai with boobies or I said the word
1:44:48 boobies whatever so done with Tik Tock
1:44:52 and their stupid [ __ ] ARB arbitrary
1:44:54 [Laughter]
1:44:57 rules good
1:44:59 Lord so like all that stuff that I was
1:45:01 making over in Discord is now in my
1:45:05 website which is super
1:45:08 cool there's my hedgehogs by the
1:45:17 way I'm working on some book covers for
1:45:22 um a book on collective intelligence so
1:45:25 these are some of the
1:45:29 candidates thought this one was pretty
1:45:36 cool this one was pretty
1:45:44 cool that one's
1:45:49 trippy would that be a cool cover for
1:45:51 collective intelligence
1:45:54 the rise of collective intelligence in
1:45:55 the age of
1:46:00 AI
1:46:04 um there's one more that I really
1:46:07 liked this
1:46:09 one that's another
1:46:12 one told you it was magic
1:46:23 it's cool being able to look through
1:46:25 your images this fast I'm just sort of
1:46:27 scrolling them in my mouse
1:46:38 wheel
1:46:47 wild
1:46:51 anyway all right I'm getting a little
1:46:53 crispy I'm sure you're getting a little
1:46:54 crispy you're like Kyle could you stop
1:46:56 talking now I got to go to bed you're
1:47:00 talking too much and it's annoying me
1:47:03 what's with your hair why did it get so
1:47:05 big the hell is going on there I will
1:47:09 blend a screenshot of this
1:47:11 live text answer with a pumpkin picture
1:47:15 perfect love it slash blend it
1:47:21 works or slash blend that's
1:47:29 right thankful Jones figured something
1:47:31 out oh Discord yeah discord's weird if
1:47:34 you've never used Discord it's very
1:47:35 weird Lord digital Gods thank you so
1:47:38 much appreciate the uh the Roses the the
1:47:43 gifts are always appreciated very
1:47:45 generous of
1:47:48 you really nice meeting you today and
1:47:51 speaking Lord digital God
1:47:54 is doing some cool stuff and uh is the
1:47:57 reason I've got a new book well it's not
1:48:01 coming out cuz I haven't I haven't
1:48:03 published it yet but it's
1:48:05 coming I have three more chapters to
1:48:07 work
1:48:08 on and uh and I'm pretty much done I've
1:48:11 got some editing to do but not
1:48:14 much another 2hour push and I think I am
1:48:18 ready to ready to
1:48:20 publish it's exciting it's exciting
1:48:24 people it's called embrace the
1:48:27 Jank and we're going to be embracing the
1:48:29 Jank I'll tell you
1:48:31 mhm I'll tell you
1:48:33 what that going to be
1:48:37 nice all
1:48:39 right that would be a great way to learn
1:48:41 how to paint it I so I I I deeply
1:48:45 believe that artists using mid Journey
1:48:48 or Dolly as um idea generation machines
1:48:53 that they then manifest in the real
1:48:55 world I think that's a a really exciting
1:48:57 area of creative
1:49:00 expression um have you trained any
1:49:02 models yourself um no I haven't I
1:49:06 haven't
1:49:09 I'm just to
1:49:11 put sort of where this channel lives in
1:49:15 in in historical
1:49:18 context for
1:49:21 me the thing that I'm most interested in
1:49:24 about AI right now
1:49:27 is the
1:49:29 the inflection
1:49:32 point that chat GPT represents so before
1:49:36 chat GPT you had to be a mathematician
1:49:38 and an engineer and a programmer and a
1:49:41 brainiac and you had to know about model
1:49:43 weights and embeddings and Laten space
1:49:45 and just all that [ __ ] chat GPT does for
1:49:49 AI what the worldwide web did for the
1:49:52 internet makes it ACC to lots of people
1:49:55 that's what I'm interested in is okay
1:49:57 now that these tools have been Unleashed
1:49:59 on the world how do everyday people use
1:50:04 them how can we use them and how can we
1:50:06 do things like make money with cha PT or
1:50:09 use these images things like that um so
1:50:13 while I'm curious about things like
1:50:16 building models I don't really have the
1:50:20 patience or tolerance or knowledge to go
1:50:23 find some massive [ __ ] data set and
1:50:26 make my own model um it's just not
1:50:30 interesting to me because I know that
1:50:31 there's lots of other people doing that
1:50:33 and I'm more interested in once that
1:50:35 model exists what can we do with it and
1:50:38 like even within that like I did I
1:50:41 created these things for a project that
1:50:43 I'm working on for this company called
1:50:45 content Evolution where I'm the chief
1:50:46 generative officer and we made digital
1:50:50 twins of all the professionals you know
1:50:54 that that wanted to um within this
1:50:56 organization and so we've got the these
1:50:58 these gpts that are digital twins of the
1:51:02 professionals and and like right now I'm
1:51:05 fascinated with how are we actually
1:51:07 going to use them like right now Kevin
1:51:10 Clark is using those digital twins to
1:51:12 write a weekly article for LinkedIn
1:51:15 where the collective intelligence of
1:51:18 these digital twins in a GPT are writing
1:51:21 the article and even quoting
1:51:24 professionals from within content
1:51:26 Evolution but it's just doing it
1:51:28 virtually and then he's vetting those
1:51:30 quotes with the real people and he he I
1:51:33 was in one this week that he vetted with
1:51:35 me and it was really good it was like
1:51:38 essentially exactly what I would have
1:51:40 written if I were writing a quote for
1:51:42 that article which was amazing it was
1:51:44 it's
1:51:46 amazing so so I think you know how do we
1:51:49 use the models that are here and even
1:51:51 how do we how do we use the tool we
1:51:53 build with the models here and it's
1:51:56 crazy we're in a crazy
1:51:58 time
1:52:00 so
1:52:02 anyway all right make sure author is
1:52:05 added to any introductions about you
1:52:08 Kyle okay thank you I will I will do
1:52:11 that this will be my second book and
1:52:13 with collective intelligence I'll have
1:52:15 three three books
1:52:17 [Laughter]
1:52:23 we would never be where we are in
1:52:26 Learning Without You that's for sure
1:52:27 thank you Silver Fox that's very sweet
1:52:29 no it's very sweet and I you know I feel
1:52:31 the same way I mean again I
1:52:35 like I impart some wisdom here but I
1:52:38 learn as much doing this as I do
1:52:42 teaching you know I I mean I learn as
1:52:45 much as I
1:52:46 teach because there's something about
1:52:49 just doing this stuff over and over and
1:52:51 over again and well let me come at it
1:52:53 from this angle let let me come at it
1:52:55 from that angle or like what I just did
1:52:57 you know someone was like I went to go
1:53:00 to Mid journey and it took me over to
1:53:01 [ __ ] Discord like going back to
1:53:04 Discord and making images in Discord
1:53:06 it's just it's like a different part of
1:53:08 your brain and so I don't know I mean
1:53:12 all of that stuff contributes to that's
1:53:14 what this channel is about is about just
1:53:16 showing up just keep showing up here and
1:53:19 just keep playing it almost doesn't
1:53:21 matter what I'm talking about just Do
1:53:23 Your Own Thing just be in the
1:53:24 conversation that's what this Channel's
1:53:26 really about I think that's where the I
1:53:28 think that's where the magic of learning
1:53:30 this stuff is is um don't get too tied
1:53:35 to
1:53:36 outcomes CU that's really
1:53:38 frustrating I was talking to digital
1:53:41 Gods about that today that
1:53:44 like trying to get these large language
1:53:47 models and even these image generation
1:53:48 models to to do something precise and
1:53:52 repeatable
1:53:53 is an exercise in [ __ ]
1:53:57 Madness
1:53:59 so two years from now it won't be but
1:54:02 right now it is my skeptical colleague
