125. 29:52GPT is really high here's here's some things you need to know about it um you don't just write a book you don't
126. 30:00just go give me a book on this and it spits out a good book um but if you if you think of chat GPT more like a writing partner and you
127. 30:09say hey I have an idea for a book and I want you to come up with five or six different storytelling Frameworks story
128. 30:17Frameworks that that we can organize this book in and it'll give you story Frameworks and you say okay I like I
129. 30:23like framework two and I like framework 5 and could you make a hybrid story framework that combines those two sure
130. 30:30here it is it'll give you that then you can say okay here are the here are the elements of my book here are the
131. 30:36characters here are the plot elements um use that story framework and fill out my you know create an outline for my book
132. 30:47and then it'll do that and then critique the [ __ ] out of that outline you got this wrong reorder these things that's
133. 30:54completely wrong you you took a left at Albuquerque all that sort of [ __ ] and then you then you go in and start
134. 31:01sort of breaking it down you know give me an outline for chapter one now you know flesh out this section of this
135. 31:09outline of chapter 1 so you sort of build it by by filling in an outline and if you do it like that you can end up
136. 31:16with something that's decently usable in a fairly short amount of time so that's that's how I would attack it but I think
137. 31:21it's amazing for that [ __ ] I would also encourage you if you don't uh if you haven't played with Claude
138. 31:28um experiment with Claude as well Claude the new Claude 3.5 Sonet is um really quite good some people like the writing
139. 31:37style better than chat gpts um I personally like chat GPT but writing is a weird thing so I would experiment with
140. 31:44a couple of tools so the two I would start with are Claude and uh and chat GPT and then I would also if you need to
141. 31:53do any research I would include perplexity into the mix I got a paid open AI account what do you think is the
142. 31:59best AI to scrub large own text files well chat GPT is really good at that I don't quite know what you mean by
143. 32:10scrub it but if you if you've got a paid chat GPT go to chat GPT 40 let's go get oh I've got do I have a
144. 32:19manuscript in here I think I do hang on oh there's a book I'm working on called collective intelligence so let me let me export
145. 32:36this download plain text this isn't that long though this is only 32k this is my my prompt book this is my

153. 34:04would use chat GPT for it just upload your big text documents here and then just ask it to do stuff and you can also have it you could have
154. 34:14it break I don't know what's in those documents but you could have it put organize that data and put it into
155. 34:21spreadsheets or put it into CSV files or put it into Word documents you could break the break the text up you could
156. 34:27could organize it like that's how that how that book came to be was I was using Claude and chat GPT to organize the
157. 34:35quotes yep it's weird in 2024 I really don't understand why we can't have virtually unlimited context window but
158. 34:42memory is so small I I honest to God I don't get that either Brandon it's just bizarre it it's got to be that something
159. 34:50that open AI is doing is just really [ __ ] expensive if they open up that context window however they're doing
160. 34:55their their uh Frontier models is the only thing I can think of is it's just too [ __ ] expensive but also you got
161. 35:03to realize cat GPT has what 100 100 or 150 million weekly active users that's a lot of people using it so if they double
162. 35:14their context window you know it's I I'm sure their costs Skyrocket pretty quickly um I don't think anyone else has near this kind of
163. 35:24usage regarding bookwriting would chat GPT take top because custom instructions where the tone can be set um I think I
164. 35:32think the ability to set the tone is is quite important um I just like chat GPT because I think it's a better writer
165. 35:41however they trained It Whatever data they trained it on or however they fine-tuned it it's just a better writer
166. 35:47it's just better with words now you have to do [ __ ] like in my custom instructions I have a whole [ __ ] section on avoid overused

168. 36:14important to note it's important to consider based on the information provided remember that navigating the

170. 36:30things to get them to behave you the way you want them to behave but you can absolutely you can Muck with those

191. 40:05of chat GPT AI means authentic intelligence smart people using smart products I like it I like it I like it I
192. 40:14like it okay so I'm going to show you my very first GPT I ever made this was made back in November of last year 23 Sin City

202. 42:20it what's cool about these things is that they are built instantly they're instantly available to you okay now on

204. 42:35configure you can start in either one configure you can upload a picture name your GPT give it a description give it you know the prompting
205. 42:43instructions give it those conversation starter questions upload knowledge to it if you're intimidated by programming don't start here
206. 42:57because you don't have to start with create now what create does what open AI did here and they did this better than
207. 43:04anyone else in my opinion is you just ask it for what you want so the biggest here's the toughest thing to to coming

224. 46:09different each letter whatever the [ __ ] they are anyway so you just tell tell it what you want and then you hit submit
225. 46:16and now what's cool is updating GPT so it's doing its thing you'll notice over here on the right bang it exists a pirate who shares Maritime
226. 46:26history navigation and pirate piracy economics with Flare tell me about famous pirate ships I'm going to say um no
227. 46:39I don't want it to be super obvious I just want it to be a
228. 46:55Storyteller that happens to be a pirate and always uses pirate

317. 1:06:31as well so that if you upload data to it or if you don't want people to get to your prompts it at least slows them down a
318. 1:06:40little bit if they're just sort of casually trying to get your prompt and you have some language in there that

373. 1:17:34have a better icon as Beyond me and then once you're inside one of these servers these are all the conversation channels
374. 1:17:41so generally what it will do is it will start you out in a in like a getting started area where you've got to do some
375. 1:17:47things jump through some H Hoops click on an icon agree to their you know Community guidelines or whatever and
376. 1:17:54then and then you have access and in mid Journey you'll see these newcomer rooms called newbie 8 newbie 29 newbie 38 you
377. 1:18:02know all these and if you click on one of these this is actually where you make images in mid Journey now um You There is a web-based
378. 1:18:14application but you need to make a 100 images in the Discord server before you have access to that thing which is a real pain in the buties
379. 1:18:25so to get started um let's see let me get to the bottom of this thing the way you make images in mid journey is you type in slash
380. 1:18:45imagine why why is that slash imagine so notice up here it says slash imagine prompt you can either type out imagine or you can just click
381. 1:18:59on it if you see it up here you click on it and see how it says slash imagine and then it's got an area for your prompt
382. 1:19:05and you put in your prompt um let's see a magazine quality photo of
383. 1:19:21a70s muscle car in a an abandoned Factory it's like my go-to prompt
384. 1:19:38Factory and then I'm going to do dash dash AR for aspect ratio and then do 16 colon 9 and if you're looking at me
385. 1:19:50writing these command lines like slash imagine and then you write your prompt and then you to put things like DH D AR
386. 1:19:56and you're like am I seriously having to write code to make images the answer unfortunately is yes um it's not that
387. 1:20:06big a deal but you do have to kind of learn some [ __ ] so I'm going to send that into the into the machine d x
388. 1:20:17Machina that's a beautiful interior isn't it 3D rendering of a modern and what's kind of cool about these Discord
389. 1:20:25channels is you're you're making images in in the mix with other people so if you see something that you
390. 1:20:33like you can grab their prompt and start iterating on it and people do that all the time um there's my there's my muscle cars being
391. 1:20:47imagined and if you notice that they they're kind of uh they're kind of screwed up at first and then they got a little more
392. 1:20:55in focus and then a little more and then a little more that's the way diffusion models work they start out as this completely
393. 1:21:03diffused amalgamation of you know probably thousands of images they've kind of averaged all the all the image
394. 1:21:10information together into one sort of blurry image and then it sort of you know denoises it over 50 steps or something like that
395. 1:21:22um so once you once you've created those images you you get these buttons u 1 2 3 4 V1 2 3 4 and a redo
396. 1:21:34button so the redo button is just I hate these give me four more U stands for upscale v stands for variation so I
397. 1:21:43think image one it and it's 1 2 3 4 so I think image one is interesting but not quite right so I'm going to do variations of one the form
398. 1:21:58submitted oh and then I'm going to upscale number three this one here cuz I like that one and then I'll make a big version of that
399. 1:22:11one so there's my biggie and then I'm going to do upscale creative and we'll make that one look all nice that'll be a nice big
400. 1:22:23image and then somewhere in here I should get variations on that one yeah where we're looking at the side of the
401. 1:22:32car and there are there are many many rabbit holes so what I would I would strongly encourage you to do is go to the AI Salon join the
402. 1:22:48community um let people know you want to work on Mid Journey go check out um there are a number of different areas in
403. 1:22:56the AI Salon where you can find people that are doing interesting stuff with mid Journey you can find people in the
404. 1:23:02Irregulars Channel you can find people in a there's a a guild called learn and do with Peter um Peter kinsky is really good at
405. 1:23:12this stuff uh Dr Jay in here is really good at this stuff there's a bunch of people in this community that are really
406. 1:23:18good at Mid Journey that will help you with it um and you can really just geek out you can mix different images you can
407. 1:23:25do something called character reference where you can take a picture of someone and and make an image look like them um you can do style
408. 1:23:34references um there's a whole sort of thing happening on Twitter right now which is kind of fun where in fact I can show you in my I've
409. 1:23:48got this thing called my mind and so there's there's all these different styles of uh
410. 1:24:02images so like here's a cool one and see where that says s ref see where it's got these cool sort of black and white
411. 1:24:14drawings but see see it says Das Das sref style reference and then it's got that number I can copy that number I can come back over to
412. 1:24:28Discord and I can go slash imagine and I can do um hedge let's say
413. 1:24:45illustration of Hedgehog high jumping and then I'm going to go I'm going to paste in that srf Dash Dash
414. 1:24:58sref and then that number and I'm just going to see what it does and and so what we're looking for is it should give
415. 1:25:06us something that's stylistically similar to those because we use that same srf number style reference so while it's doing that let's

524. 1:49:54that's what I'm interested in is okay now that these tools have been Unleashed on the world how do everyday people use
525. 1:50:03them how can we use them and how can we do things like make money with cha PT or use these images things like that um so
526. 1:50:12while I'm curious about things like building models I don't really have the patience or tolerance or knowledge to go
527. 1:50:23find some massive [ __ ] data set and make my own model um it's just not interesting to me because I know that
528. 1:50:31there's lots of other people doing that and I'm more interested in once that model exists what can we do with it and
529. 1:50:37like even within that like I did I created these things for a project that I'm working on for this company called
530. 1:50:44content Evolution where I'm the chief generative officer and we made digital twins of all the professionals you know
531. 1:50:53that that wanted to um within this organization and so we've got the these these gpts that are digital twins of the
532. 1:51:01professionals and and like right now I'm fascinated with how are we actually going to use them like right now Kevin
533. 1:51:09Clark is using those digital twins to write a weekly article for LinkedIn where the collective intelligence of
534. 1:51:17these digital twins in a GPT are writing the article and even quoting professionals from within content Evolution but it's just doing it
535. 1:51:28virtually and then he's vetting those quotes with the real people and he he I was in one this week that he vetted with
536. 1:51:35me and it was really good it was like essentially exactly what I would have written if I were writing a quote for
537. 1:51:42that article which was amazing it was it's amazing so so I think you know how do we use the models that are here and even
538. 1:51:50how do we how do we use the tool we build with the models here and it's crazy we're in a crazy time so anyway all right make sure author is
