AI Agents Do the Work: Forget Prompting, Embrace Loops!

1. 0:00These agentic platforms like Codex and Claude co-work, you're actually interfacing with an agent that will do the prompting for you.
2. 0:12So, you're basically just telling it, I want you to go do some things for me. And you can tell it you can string those
3. 0:20things together. And in fact, what you can now do, they've they've just added new features to both Claude Code and Codex
4. 0:27called {slash} goal. GOAL! WHERE YOU CAN give it a goal. Like the goal might be I want to start a business about selling artisanal snacks.
5. 0:45Go! And that coordinating agent, if you've got your Codex set up right, will just go and say, "Ooh, I need to do
6. 0:55some research. In order to for me to do this, I need some research. So, I'm going to spin up a sub agent that goes and does research.
7. 1:03And then I'm going to spin up an agent that understands small business dynamics. And I'm going to create a
8. 1:09small business specialist. And they're going to go research what's the best business model and what's the best
9. 1:14business structure. Oh, and then I probably need some legal advice. So, let me spin up a little legal version of an agent, right?
10. 1:23And so, all of these things are kind of out there just performing independently on your behalf. The loops, as we talked about loops, is
11. 1:35you can have it do the same thing over and over again. Like, for example, one of the loops I created with Adam, with my my crappy agent,
12. 1:46Open Claude agent Adam, is on a daily basis, when he works, >> [laughter] >> on a daily basis, I think his daily cron
13. 1:55job job turned turned into a weekly cron job for some I don't know how that happened cuz cuz I suck. Um but on a on a daily basis
14. 2:08he understands what the great repurpose is and he goes out and he and he finds news articles within the past week
15. 2:18related to the big themes of the great repurpose. And he finds the five most relevant articles and then he does a synopsis and kind of
16. 2:29the three bullet points of those things and it happens every day. So that loop of you know, go out, read a bunch of
17. 2:36articles, find the five most relevant, write the structured email that's structured the way we talk about and
18. 2:42then send that email to the recipients I told you to that loop can just be done over and over and over again. And so when these guys
19. 2:50are talking about shifting from prompting to loops the big concept to get is that these things can just do for you. You don't have to
20. 3:03be there waiting for the answer to come back. You can design the loop. You can you can do some back and forth. You
21. 3:09could even do some back and forth with chat GPT to kind of design what you want it to do. And then you can go over to these
22. 3:15agentic platforms and say, "Hey, we're going to do this, then we're going to do that, then we're going to do that, then
23. 3:19we're going to do that. And then I want you to do that on this regular schedule." And those things are designed in such a way that they can
