21. 4:17group volunteered to be organizers in there put that on their LinkedIn profile I mean I would say you know get get anything you can on
22. 4:26your on your LinkedIn profile no one checks that [ __ ] no one really cares so just put stuff on there um if it's if
23. 4:33it's relevant and you're connected to it and then I think more important than than what's in your profile is start
24. 4:40posting on LinkedIn here's what I'm learning here's what I'm doing here's what I built we'll we'll build if you if
25. 4:46you haven't built a GPT yet there's a GPT for that that's why this Graphics here um we're going to build some of
26. 4:52them tonight I spent all day today I had two different um generative AI meetings today with two different groups and and
27. 4:59both of them I just said we're building Bots today we're building gpts and what what was amazing to me was
28. 5:07a fair amount of these people were people who have um who use chat GPT a lot were not even aware that you know
29. 5:16open AI had their Dev conference on Monday we're not aware that this GPT Builder had launched we're not aware
30. 5:23that the new version of of Consolidated multimodal um was live so so this stuff is brand spanking new um I really miss F Kyle's funny
31. 5:38characters yeah I haven't been doing as many funny characters you know why cuz cuz you know I'm Harry
32. 5:48Cary um because I've been I've been I've been I honestly honestly Winston I've been discombobulated by all these ch ches I and first of
33. 6:02all in general in life try to incorporate words like discombobulated into normal sentences it throws people um but I've been I've been
34. 6:15uh I've been a little shook just trying to get my head around a how to do these things and I'm you know kind of learning
35. 6:22in real time with you guys um but but B just how to make sense of it because I I feel like I don't know it's it's one of
36. 6:29my ticks I guess is I need to I need to understand something I need to understand some like I I guess I need to internalize
37. 6:38something so that I can talk about it and talk about it with some level of clarity and I I I'm having a really hard
38. 6:45time internalizing this new stuff because there there are so many changes that are so profound I feel I feel like individual little
39. 6:55features that were added to chat GPT are all IND individual rabbit holes that are profound in and of themselves and then
40. 7:02like 20 of them just got wrapped up in this sort of Christmas popcorn ball and hand it to us they're like have
41. 7:11fun it it's so funny when uh we we had we had one of the um evangelists or the I don't know whatever they called the
42. 7:20one of the community members from open AI came and spoke at the AI Salon like a year ago when chat GPT was just GPT 3.5
43. 7:29and he was talking about what four was and what was coming and and he was talking about well at open AI they're a
44. 7:36little concerned they don't want to roll too much out too fast because it's going to freak people out and so I kind of get
45. 7:43that now I kind of get why it's like they went GPT 3.5 and then they went very limited GPT 4 and then they just
46. 7:51rolled out you know plugins which didn't really work and then they rolled out code interpreter which really did work
47. 7:57and so it's why wild all right all right fantastic Shopify wrote 1 million lines of code using co-pilot very cool I suppose if they were 1
48. 8:13million lines of good code um but yeah that co-pilot stuff there was a was it was it GitHub yesterday that had the announcement
49. 8:22about co-pilot that they're that they're doing like a a GitHub Enterprise deal where Enterprise groups are going to be able to basically
50. 8:33train co-pilot on on their Enterprise proprietary code base so that the code that co-pilot will know their code base holy
51. 8:48[ __ ] but not pay to use so anyone can use a GPT uh Christopher Ramsey I don't think so I well so right now you have to be a
52. 8:58chat GP t plus member to be able to use gpts I doubt it will stay like that but maybe so I I don't know I don't know um you
53. 9:12all need to listen to the marketing AI Institute oh okay great I I I listened to that uh weekly I haven't listened to
54. 9:19it this week yet cuno so that's Paul rers uh that's Paul rater's thing um so so let's get started here um welcome
55. 9:27everybody my name's Kyle and happy Friday night this is the AI learning lab uh I'm an entrepreneur and uh founder
56. 9:35and CEO of a company called storyvine it's an 11 and a halfy old uh video storytelling company that oddly enough doesn't use a
57. 9:44lot of AI to do all of our automated video editing but but now we're rolling a bunch of AI into it um I was also an
58. 9:50entrepreneur in the early days of the worldwide web I was a founder of agency.com back in the olden timey days
59. 9:581994 and built a lot of the early um websites for the Fortune 500 and things like that and and I bring that up
60. 10:06because what's happening right now with generative Ai and chat GPT like we're like a year into this thing and this
61. 10:14past year has felt very very familiar to me it feels very much like you know 95 94 95 um except a whole lot more intense
62. 10:25and a whole and things are moving a whole lot faster a whole lot faster so um so anyway that's that um okay if you
63. 10:36are crispy clean Critter brand new to chat to uh to O to to AI if if you're like I don't know where to start Kyle ky

66. 11:04the new South Park that's got the all the white collar workers standing outside Home Depot trying to get
67. 11:10plumbing jobs was [ __ ] hilarious well it's in in the tradition of South Park predicting the future it's it's a little
68. 11:22like it's it's going to be fine I got to brush up on that plumbing skills [Music] all right all right so what are we going to
69. 11:39do here I want to show you some some cool stuff um I've got lots of other AI tools that I can show you I've got seven pages of these
70. 11:51things um but I'm not cuz we're going to stick with this I so so here's the deal with chat jpt chat jpt was good and then chat jpt
71. 12:064 which came out in like Mar March or April of last year or this year was great oh thank you for the Cabell hat
72. 12:16and then um and then they added some of these new features like browse with Bing and code interpreter and then it got
73. 12:23greater and then they took away browse with Bing but they kept code interpreter and they changed it to Advanced Data
74. 12:29analysis and then about a month ago they launched all this multimodal [ __ ] has you gain your knowledge from
75. 12:38Kyle oh oh Hearts as follows oh yeah thank you Silver Fox so so here's a request there there's 96 people in here
76. 12:47I am less than a 100 people away from 30,000 followers so if you don't think I'm a big fat dumb Dum or even if you do

78. 13:04November 30th which is the one- year anniversary of chat jpt um so anyway so chat jpt a month ago gets all these features like vision
79. 13:16and um and Dolly 3 where like the the quality of image generation went from like laughably bad to holy [ __ ]
80. 13:26good and then the open AI the chat GPT app got voice and um you know conversational Ai and now all of that
81. 13:40shit's been rolled into a single mode in the past three or four days and they've added this thing called gpts and gpts are
82. 13:52personalized chat gpts that you can actually publish so if you're super passionate about I don't know Venus fly traps and
83. 14:03growing them and crossbreeding them you could make a venus fly trap GPT that that just specializes in that and it
84. 14:10could make you pictures of venus fly traps and it could talk about Venus fly traps and you could publish that out to
85. 14:16the world and by the end of the month they're going to release the GPT store which is a um it's going to be
86. 14:26just like the App Store so so we are we are literally at the ground level of the equivalent of the Apple App
87. 14:34Store which made a lot of people there there's a lot of opportunity in the in the in the App Store and especially
88. 14:41early on so um so that's that the other thing about these gpts is they are like staggeringly easy to make and
89. 14:55they are staggeringly powerful for how easy they are to make what chat GPT has done in the past three days past let's
90. 15:03call it the past week they announced it on Monday oh very nice winon thank you so much I I like the fruits the fruits
91. 15:12are nice huh the fruits are nice Winston um what they've done in the past week is they have made sophisticated application
92. 15:27development consumer easy the consumerization of application development just happened like 3 days ago three days
93. 15:39ago Wednesday Wednesday I did a three and a half hour Tik Tock live because I got access to that [ __ ] in the middle of doing one of
94. 15:49these oh thank you so much Nomad I appreciate that I noticed they started tracking GPT us usage in the dashboard now

100. 17:18than like 3 hours and uh Microsoft Edge has massive memory issues if you're a tab hoarder like I am and I think I think Edge just
101. 17:36crashed next to the name you're looking at it LOL oh I didn't see it I didn't see nothing I don't know what you're
102. 17:44talking about I this is listen this channel is kind of like watching the elderly trying to use computers for the first time it's funny

106. 18:42put in my one of my 38,000 passwords and then it's going to I got to click on my phone I got to leave here now so this is
107. 18:50a lot faster than uh gp4 used to be um and so there just wrote a song in a southern town where the Sun beats down
108. 18:59where the skies are blue and the fields are brown there's a secret recipe passed down through the years it's all about
109. 19:04peanuts love and a couple of beers it's actually not bad southern fried peanuts crunchy and sweet dancing on my tongue
110. 19:10With Every Beat In the Heat of the day or the cool of the night they bring a little Joy they make everything
111. 19:15right so so so it can do that uh what else what else can it do you can say uh make me a table comparing southern fried peanuts boiled
112. 19:28peanuts and dry roasted nuts certainly here's a table b boom boom boom and it'll make a table and it'll just automatically compare [ __ ] so
113. 19:43if if you're if you're kind of new to the chat GPT game and you haven't seen some of these what I call parlor tricks
114. 19:48although the they're more than parlor tricks I mean they they demo very well but these These are incredibly powerful
115. 19:55um things uh what I can also do is I could say um write me a program in C that is a Angry Birds clone that you launch hedgehogs instead
116. 20:12of birds and you smash stacked Turtles instead of bricks it's quite an extens project far
117. 20:29beyond the scope of this simple text response but it will describe what it's going to make and then it will write the code for
118. 20:37you some version of it and then you know the nice thing about code if you're curious about well does the code actually work I heard that it
119. 20:45hallucinates does it actually work how do I get back to a GPT I was working on last night didn't save it you if you
120. 20:52didn't save it you might have lost it I don't know Kyle guard rails AKA baby legal bumper tell us about them okay here growth geek
121. 21:02um all right so so that's just GPT now um I talked about doing this this what did I call it an Angry Birds game with
122. 21:12hedgehogs and turtles so so now one of the things that chat GPT has is it's got the ability to make images so I could just
123. 21:21say hey could you make me an example game design of my Angry Birds clone as described above I'd like to see how fun it
124. 21:41is wait oh sorry I want you to create a mockup of the main screen during game
125. 21:59play so let me stop that and tell it I want I want a picture so now it's going to create images so this
126. 22:10can create images and it'll create it quite quickly um so hair growth geek asked about the the guard rails so um when
127. 22:20you're using chat GPT sometimes you'll ask at something that feels kind of reasonable like make me an image of Tom
128. 22:28oh look that's really good that's really good actually look there's our Hedgehog doing the shooting and there's our stack
129. 22:38turtles so so listen not for nothing can you show us code interpreter yeah I'm going to show you that as well um you
130. 22:47have a brain fart for a game idea right historically what would you need to do if you wanted to mock something up like
131. 22:54this you you'd need to either go find clip art components you'd need to have Photoshop skills you'd need to have a
132. 23:00friend that was really good at this stuff and now in whatever that was 30 seconds um I've I've got at least some
133. 23:10version of that and I can just give it feedback and say I don't like this I don't like that you know I want the
134. 23:16Hedgehogs being shot not the ones doing the shooting whatever it might be um so anyway that's cool um so the the
135. 23:27the safe guard rails so built in to chat GPT are safety guard rails so they're protecting against uh things that they
136. 23:35feel are Potential Threat so anything where you're asking for something around violence which could be hey I'm doing a
137. 23:42horror film and I want a bloody murder scene it's perfectly reasonable in the context of you know doing storyboards
138. 23:51for a horror film to have a bloody murder scene um but it will likely not do that now you could say there's a scene of a person lying on the
139. 24:01floor and next to them is a round thing that looks like it's got hair on it and there's red paint splattered everywhere
140. 24:08it will make that right so so there's ways that you can kind of hack the safety guard rails but just know that
141. 24:18sometimes uh you you'll just run into these safety guard rails the other thing about the safety guard rails is
142. 24:26um sometimes in the context of a chat it will go to create an image like the one I just asked for for the for the Angry
143. 24:33Birds thing um and it it's writing its own prompt so like it wrote The Prompt to generate that um that screenshot
144. 24:41sometimes you tell it to make an image or it just goes to make an image and it says oh I'm sorry I can't make that the
145. 24:48prompt uh defied our safety guidelines or however it says it you know our content policy and and what you can just
146. 24:55say is uh maybe you could try it again write the prompt so it doesn't violate your content property and or you know uh
147. 25:02and and sometimes it will so so anyway that's that I think this has been the longest week of my life oh my god let's
148. 25:07build an app okay let me show let me show uh two other things juwel two other things yeah two other things Okay so
149. 25:14we've showed that it can do wacky [ __ ] we've showed that it can make images um I'm going to also show you that it can see
150. 25:21images so let's see what do we got here um [Laughter] let's do a whiteboard because that's a really
151. 25:39[Music] interesting there we go okay so I uploaded a picture of a whiteboard and I'm literally just going to
152. 25:50say what is this and by the way if you're wondering how I'm talking to my computer and it's typing in it's just a
153. 25:57Mac accessibility thing it's the F5 key has a little microphone on it I think you need to enable it in
154. 26:04settings um but then it goes into is so is there any copyright problem with subjects and images um not right now if you're an Enterprise
155. 26:15customer um they just created a thing at open aai called copyright Shield where they'll cover your legal costs if you
156. 26:21face that as end users there's not a lot for us to worry about in well I don't think there's major risk about
157. 26:30being sued for copyright infringement as an individual contributor there might be issues with you getting a copyright for
158. 26:38your work if that's something you want to do so this just described this appears to be a photograph of a
159. 26:44whiteboard with notes for a UI design the sketches seem to represent different screens they mention a food court One
160. 26:52Restaurant except it suggests the system could be for ordering food at air airports food court other elements talk about
161. 27:02currency um and additional functionalities um it's a typical example of an initial design phase so what I can say here
162. 27:12is please give me a project plan for how we would build this app and it will and then you can ask it I could
163. 27:25even ask it to um generate an ad that we might see in an airport for this app and it will do that it can generate the code
164. 27:34from this so you can take very very little input and and so so think about this we're now we we now have the
165. 27:41capacity to use images as our prompt right so for the last year everyone's talked about prompt engineering well
166. 27:48that game has just changed is gp4 more accurate than gp4 turbo no gp4 turbo is more accurate and more up to date they
167. 27:57updated the base model to a uh April 2023 is the most recent data okay so that's Vision it can see [ __ ] so
168. 28:09experiment with that now I'm going to do code interpreter so code interpreter you can also upload a file again notice that you know I'm not
169. 28:19having to switch modes to do image stuff or or csvs or whatever so if I go archive [Music]

171. 28:51with here we go okay so I'm going to grab a zip file of some CSV and I'm going to drag that into chat
172. 29:09GPT I don't know what's in the zip file I know it's a CSV file but I don't know what it is so I'm just going to say to
173. 29:15it please open this ZIP file look at the CSV and tell me what the data is and so it's going to go do that
174. 29:27now what's actually happening here which again all all this stuff is mind-blowing but this one in particular this is the
175. 29:34the functionality called code interpreter where what it's doing is it's writing and executing its own python code behind the scenes so it
176. 29:44creates a little container like a little mini computer instance and it's got access to python libraries and so when I
177. 29:51ask it to unzip the file it's writing the python code to do that and then once it looks inside sees there CSV files
178. 29:58that writes more python code to go look at the first few rows and let's see what it says still analyzing what's left in the creative
179. 30:11process if we just use AI in art circles AI is taboo so ASU I I listen there is a lot of anger in art circles mostly from people who haven't
180. 30:25tried this yet so so every single time there's been a new technology that's come onto the scene people are afraid of it and threatened
181. 30:36by it and so it's no different with this stuff um the artist that I know let's see why is this oh here we
182. 30:44go the date in the first row is 2017 that was kind of a crappy response and it took a long time please analyze the data and tell me
183. 30:55what interesting Trends you see in it period what would be the most interesting data to visualize
184. 31:11um the the the fact of the matter is the the fear from people that are not using chat GPT is that if chat GPT does the
185. 31:22work then you don't need my creativity and and the opposite is actually true what chat PT ends up doing is it ends up
186. 31:30giving you more ideas than you would have had otherwise and you can execute things much more quickly what's
187. 31:38still incredibly required is strategy critical thinking refinement understanding business needs things like
188. 31:46that now if you're just doing tactical execution like if you're just doing you know Photoshop illustration and and
189. 31:54that's all you're doing then I think you're at threat but everyone that I know that that's what they were doing
190. 32:00has embraced this has now figured out about 30 different ways to use it beyond what they were doing before
191. 32:08so what I would encourage everyone to do is even if you're afraid of this even if you're pissed off at it even if you're
192. 32:14on a soap box saying it's stealing from the artist which you know learn enough about how it actually works to
193. 32:21understand what it's doing it's not copying and pasting from other people's works that's one of the conceptions
194. 32:27about it so a lot of the anger and vitriol I see about this stuff is because people don't understand what's
195. 32:34actually going on and they haven't actually used it so this channel is about [ __ ] try it go to chat.
196. 32:43open.com right now even if you're pissed off at this even if you say I'm never going to use it in my life because there's a lot of different
197. 32:52ways that you can use this tool right you might use this tool to write emails to the account team to explain your
198. 33:01creative work right so you might use it in a business process kind of thing but if you never use it at all you won't know that you can do
199. 33:11that um okay so so what's happened here in the background while I was rambling on about art stuff it analyzed
200. 33:20the taxi data this is New York City Taxi data it says we can analyze the f in temporal patterns spatial patterns economic Trends writer
201. 33:31preference I'll prepare these visualizations they could reveal insights and writer Behavior so so right
202. 33:37now what it's doing is it's actually I can open this up here's the python code that it's writing so this is in the
203. 33:44background when it says analyzing you can you can open that up and watch what it's doing so it's writing it's writing this
204. 33:51python code Matt plot library and Seaborn are both libraries in Python for it to visualize data and it's going off and writing
205. 34:01stuff and it's going to make us some visualizations it's going to make us some charts and graphs so that's code
206. 34:08interpreter oh geez art societies are just scared and I see winning art in jury shows from Paid tutorials yeah
207. 34:18there listen there's going to be lots and lots and lots there was an error generating the response all right well
208. 34:23we'll just we'll just give up on this um there's going to be lots and lots and lots of mishos about um about the impact on artists and two
209. 34:35things are going to happen well three thing there's going to be three kinds of people and and this is not just art by
210. 34:42the way this is writing this is project management this is all knowledge work right this is Consulting there's going to be three
211. 34:51kinds of people that that emerge first kind of people are people that are going to resist it and ignore
212. 34:58it and I fear for them and this channel exists to get them off their ass and get off your soap box and get out from
213. 35:07behind the fear no you can still no not get out from behind the fear you can still be scared but just take action
214. 35:15just get curious start playing but there's going to be a group that resists it and they're going to get blindsided
215. 35:20by this stuff then there's going to be a group that are people that are not artists today that because they have
216. 35:27access to tools like DOI are going to become artists and they're going to get good enough at it there's one of the
217. 35:32guys that comes in here fairly regularly this guy named Herod he used to be an engineer and then he discovered AI art
218. 35:39and he's like I want to be an AI artist and he spent six months getting kickass at AI art and now he's an AI artist he
219. 35:45got hired as an artist so there's going to be people that literally come out of nowhere that are now compet competing
220. 35:51for those art jobs for the people that are resisting it because employers are going to want people that a i literate
221. 35:58and then there's a there's a third category and this is the one where I think if you're if you're well if if
222. 36:04you're any kind of you know creative professional or knowledge worker the Third Kind is artists that Embrace
223. 36:13AI because they're going to be better at generative AI because they're an artist because they've got an artist's eye than
224. 36:20people come that come at it from the outside the advantage people from the outside have is going to use tools in
225. 36:28ways that artists wouldn't have necessarily thought of but that's okay but but artists that take this on are
226. 36:35going to get really good they're going to do really amazing work and they're going to rise above the noise
227. 36:41so you can absolutely hate this you can absolutely think this is the worst thing ever and it's like the weather it's not going
228. 36:53to stop coming it's not going to get uninvented so so that's what this Channel's all about um I don't want to give them my
229. 37:02phone number well then you're [ __ ] out of luck cuz I I assume you're from the from the nft crowd because the nft crowd's all
230. 37:11about don't dox me man it's fine uh you I'm I don't think there's a way to sign up for chat GPT without giving them your
231. 37:18phone number so I I assume you can get yourself a fake phone number if you want to uh uhuh uh uh um okay so let's go
232. 37:29let's go let's go explore these these uh chat gpts these gpts so what's a GPT this is the very first GPT I ever
233. 37:41made yay I made this Wednesday night live here on the live um I love this every day's a trip isn't it cam katkin every day is just a [ __ ]
234. 37:55insanity oh my God so Sin City sipper is a Vegas bartender with a Twist on the classics so this took if you were here Wednesday
235. 38:07this took me about five minutes to create and so Sin City sippers drink of the night in in the Irregulars channel oh nice oh that's
236. 38:23beautiful so here's there's one of the cocktails that the Sin City sipper made thank you Ted that was very cool that's very
237. 38:34awesome um super cool so so what I can do here is I can say um how do I make drinks question mark and then the Sin City sipper it's
238. 38:50been programmed so one of the things we put in it is if someone is new to Mixology give them more simple recipes
239. 38:58if they're more advanced give them more advanced recipes and and then what it's also supposed to do is take classic cocktails
240. 39:06and put some little twist on them so they're it's a unique drink for that person way back on Wednesday night I
241. 39:12remember that night exactly you know in my day two days ago I it was so funny I was on a call today with like 15 or 20
