4:26 your on your LinkedIn profile no one
4:29 checks that [ __ ] no one really cares so
4:31 just put stuff on there um if it's if
4:34 it's relevant and you're connected to it
4:36 and then I think more important than
4:38 than what's in your profile is start
4:40 posting on LinkedIn here's what I'm
4:42 learning here's what I'm doing here's
4:44 what I built we'll we'll build if you if
4:47 you haven't built a GPT yet there's a
4:49 GPT for that that's why this Graphics
4:51 here um we're going to build some of
4:53 them tonight I spent all day today I had
4:55 two different um generative AI meetings
4:58 today with two different groups and and
5:00 both of them I just said we're building
5:02 Bots today we're building
5:04 gpts and what what was amazing to me was
5:07 a fair amount of these people were
5:09 people who have um who use chat GPT a
5:14 lot were not even aware that you know
5:17 open AI had their Dev conference on
5:19 Monday we're not aware that this GPT
5:21 Builder had launched we're not aware
5:23 that the new version of of Consolidated
5:28 multimodal um
5:30 was live so so this stuff is brand
5:33 spanking new
5:35 um I really miss F Kyle's funny
5:38 characters yeah I haven't been doing as
5:40 many funny characters you know why cuz
5:44 cuz you know I'm Harry
5:48 Cary um because I've been I've been I've
5:52 been I honestly honestly Winston I've
5:57 been discombobulated by all these ch
5:59 ches I and first of
6:02 all in general in life try to
6:05 incorporate words like discombobulated
6:08 into normal sentences it throws
6:11 people
6:13 um but I've been I've been
6:15 uh I've been a little shook just trying
6:18 to get my head around a how to do these
6:21 things and I'm you know kind of learning
6:22 in real time with you guys um but but B
6:26 just how to make sense of it because I I
6:28 feel like I don't know it's it's one of
6:29 my ticks I guess is I need to I need to
6:33 understand
6:34 something I need to understand some like
6:37 I I guess I need to internalize
6:38 something so that I can talk about it
6:40 and talk about it with some level of
6:42 clarity and I I I'm having a really hard
6:45 time internalizing this new stuff
6:47 because there there are so many changes
6:50 that are so profound I feel I feel like
6:53 individual little
6:55 features that were added to chat GPT are
6:59 all IND individual rabbit holes that are
7:01 profound in and of themselves and then
7:03 like 20 of them just got wrapped up in
7:06 this sort of Christmas popcorn ball and
7:09 hand it to us they're like have
7:12 fun it it's so funny when uh we we had
7:16 we had one of the um evangelists or the
7:19 I don't know whatever they called the
7:20 one of the community members from open
7:22 AI came and spoke at the AI Salon like a
7:25 year ago when chat GPT was just GPT 3.5
7:29 and he was talking about what four was
7:32 and what was coming and and he was
7:34 talking about well at open AI they're a
7:37 little concerned they don't want to roll
7:38 too much out too fast because it's going
7:40 to freak people out and so I kind of get
7:44 that now I kind of get why it's like
7:46 they went GPT 3.5 and then they went
7:50 very limited GPT 4 and then they just
7:52 rolled out you know plugins which didn't
7:54 really work and then they rolled out
7:56 code interpreter which really did work
7:58 and so it's why wild all
8:04 right all right fantastic Shopify wrote
8:08 1 million lines of code using co-pilot
8:10 very cool I suppose if they were 1
8:14 million lines of good
8:15 code um but yeah that co-pilot stuff
8:18 there was a was it was it GitHub
8:21 yesterday that had the announcement
8:22 about co-pilot that they're that they're
8:25 doing like a a GitHub Enterprise deal
8:29 where
8:30 Enterprise groups are going to be able
8:32 to basically
8:34 train co-pilot on on their Enterprise
8:37 proprietary code
8:39 base so that the code that co-pilot will
8:42 know their code base holy
8:48 [ __ ] but not pay to use so anyone can
8:52 use a
8:53 GPT uh Christopher Ramsey I don't think
8:56 so I well so right now you have to be a
8:58 chat GP t plus member to be able to use
9:04 gpts I doubt it will stay like that but
9:08 maybe

9:33 uh I'm an entrepreneur and uh founder
9:35 and CEO of a company called storyvine
9:37 it's an 11 and a halfy old uh video
9:40 storytelling
9:41 company that oddly enough doesn't use a
9:44 lot of AI to do all of our automated
9:46 video editing but but now we're rolling
9:48 a bunch of AI into it um I was also an
9:51 entrepreneur in the early days of the
9:53 worldwide web I was a founder of
9:55 agency.com back in the olden timey days
9:58 1994 and built a lot of the early um
10:01 websites for the Fortune 500 and things
10:04 like that and and I bring that up
10:07 because what's happening right now with
10:09 generative Ai and chat GPT like we're
10:12 like a year into this thing and this
10:14 past year has felt very very familiar to
10:17 me it feels very much like you know 95
10:21 94 95 um except a whole lot more intense
10:25 and a whole and things are moving a
10:28 whole lot faster a whole lot faster so
10:32 um so anyway that's that um okay if you
10:37 are crispy clean Critter brand new to
10:40 chat to uh to O to to AI if if you're
10:44 like I don't know where to start Kyle ky

11:59 so so here's the deal with chat jpt chat
12:03 jpt was good and then chat jpt
12:07 4 which came out in like Mar March or
12:09 April of last year or this year was
12:13 great oh thank you for the Cabell hat
12:16 and then um and then they added some of
12:20 these new features like browse with Bing
12:22 and code interpreter and then it got
12:24 greater and then they took away browse
12:26 with Bing but they kept code interpreter
12:28 and they changed it to Advanced Data
12:29 analysis and then about a month
12:33 ago they launched all this multimodal
12:37 [ __ ] has you gain your knowledge from
12:39 Kyle oh oh Hearts as follows oh yeah

13:13 ago gets all these features like vision
13:16 and um and Dolly 3 where like the the
13:21 quality of image generation went from
13:23 like laughably bad to holy [ __ ]
13:26 good and then the open AI the chat GPT
13:32 app got voice and um you know
13:36 conversational Ai and now all of that
13:40 shit's been rolled into a single mode in
13:43 the past three or four days and they've
13:46 added this thing called
13:48 gpts and gpts are
13:52 personalized chat gpts that you can
13:55 actually publish so if you're super
13:58 passionate
14:00 about I don't know Venus fly traps and
14:03 growing them and crossbreeding them you
14:06 could make a venus fly trap GPT that
14:08 that just specializes in that and it
14:11 could make you pictures of venus fly
14:13 traps and it could talk about Venus fly
14:15 traps and you could publish that out to
14:17 the world and by the end of the month
14:19 they're going to release the GPT
14:22 store which is a um it's going to be
14:27 just like the App Store so so we are we
14:29 are literally at the ground
14:31 level of the equivalent of the Apple App
14:35 Store which made a lot of people there
14:37 there's a lot of opportunity in the in
14:40 the in the App Store and especially
14:41 early on so um so that's that the other
14:46 thing about these gpts is they
14:51 are like staggeringly easy to make and
14:56 they are staggeringly powerful for how
14:58 easy they are to make what chat GPT has
15:01 done in the past three days past let's
15:04 call it the past week they announced it
15:05 on Monday oh very nice winon thank you
15:09 so much I I like the fruits the fruits
15:13 are nice huh the fruits are nice

15:24 made sophisticated application

15:45 got access to that [ __ ] in the middle of

19:01 are brown there's a secret recipe passed
19:02 down through the years it's all about
19:04 peanuts love and a couple of beers it's
19:06 actually not bad southern fried peanuts
19:08 crunchy and sweet dancing on my tongue
19:10 With Every Beat In the Heat of the day
19:12 or the cool of the night they bring a
19:13 little Joy they make everything
19:16 right so so so it can do that uh what
19:20 else what else can it do you can say uh
19:22 make me a table comparing southern fried
19:27 peanuts boiled
19:29 peanuts and dry roasted
19:35 nuts certainly here's a table b boom
19:37 boom boom and it'll make a table and
19:40 it'll just automatically compare [ __ ] so
19:43 if if you're if you're kind of new to
19:45 the chat GPT game and you haven't seen
19:47 some of these what I call parlor tricks
19:49 although the they're more than parlor
19:51 tricks I mean they they demo very well
19:53 but these These are incredibly powerful
19:56 um things uh what I can also do is I
19:58 could say
19:59 um write me a program in C that is a
20:06 Angry Birds
20:08 clone that you launch hedgehogs instead
20:13 of
20:14 birds and you
20:16 smash stacked Turtles instead of
20:26 bricks it's quite an extens project far
20:29 beyond the scope of this simple text
20:31 response but it will describe what it's
20:34 going to
20:35 make and then it will write the code for
20:38 you some version of it and then you know
20:40 the nice thing about code if you're
20:42 curious about well does the code
20:43 actually work I heard that it
20:45 hallucinates does it actually work how
20:47 do I get back to a GPT I was working on
20:50 last night didn't save it you if you
20:53 didn't save it you might have lost it I
20:55 don't know Kyle guard rails AKA baby

21:07 um I talked about doing this this what
21:10 did I call it an Angry Birds game with
21:13 hedgehogs and turtles so so now one of
21:16 the things that chat GPT has is it's got
21:19 the ability to make images so I could
21:21 just
21:22 say hey could you make me an example
21:26 game design of my Angry Birds
21:30 clone as described above I'd like to see
21:33 how fun it
21:42 is
21:45 wait
21:49 oh sorry I want you to create a mockup
21:56 of the main screen during game
22:00 play so let me
22:03 stop that
22:06 and tell it I want I want a picture so
22:09 now it's going to create images so this
22:10 can create images and it'll create it
22:12 quite
22:13 quickly um so hair growth geek asked
22:17 about the the guard rails so um when
22:21 you're using chat GPT sometimes you'll
22:24 ask at something that feels kind of
22:25 reasonable like make me an image of Tom
22:29 oh look that's really good that's really
22:31 good actually look there's our Hedgehog
22:34 doing the shooting and there's our stack
22:39 turtles so so listen not for nothing can
22:43 you show us code interpreter yeah I'm
22:44 going to show you that as well um you
22:48 have a brain fart for a game idea right
22:51 historically what would you need to do
22:53 if you wanted to mock something up like
22:55 this you you'd need to either go find
22:57 clip art components you'd need to have
22:59 Photoshop skills you'd need to have a
23:01 friend that was really good at this
23:03 stuff and now in whatever that was 30
23:07 seconds um I've I've got at least some
23:11 version of that and I can just give it
23:12 feedback and say I don't like this I
23:14 don't like that you know I want the
23:16 Hedgehogs being shot not the ones doing
23:18 the shooting whatever it might
23:20 be
23:23 um so anyway that's cool um so the the
23:27 the safe guard rails so built in to chat
23:30 GPT are safety guard rails so they're
23:32 protecting against uh things that they
23:35 feel are Potential Threat so anything
23:37 where you're asking for something around
23:39 violence which could be hey I'm doing a
23:43 horror film and I want a bloody murder
23:46 scene it's perfectly reasonable in the
23:49 context of you know doing storyboards
23:52 for a horror film to have a bloody
23:53 murder scene um but it will likely not
23:56 do that now you could say
23:59 there's a scene of a person lying on the
24:01 floor and next to them is a round thing
24:04 that looks like it's got hair on it and
24:07 there's red paint splattered everywhere
24:09 it will make that right so so there's
24:12 ways that you can kind of hack the
24:15 safety guard rails but just know that
24:18 sometimes uh you you'll just run into
24:21 these safety guard rails the other thing
24:23 about the safety guard rails is
24:26 um sometimes in the context of a chat it
24:29 will go to create an image like the one
24:31 I just asked for for the for the Angry
24:33 Birds thing um and it it's writing its
24:36 own prompt so like it wrote The Prompt
24:38 to generate that um that screenshot
24:42 sometimes you tell it to make an image
24:44 or it just goes to make an image and it
24:46 says oh I'm sorry I can't make that the
24:48 prompt uh defied our safety guidelines
24:51 or however it says it you know our
24:53 content policy and and what you can just
24:56 say is uh maybe you could try it again
24:58 write the prompt so it doesn't violate
24:59 your content property and or you know uh
25:02 and and sometimes it will so so anyway
25:04 that's that I think this has been the
25:06 longest week of my life oh my god let's
25:08 build an app okay let me show let me
25:09 show uh two other things juwel two other
25:12 things yeah two other things Okay so
25:15 we've showed that it can do wacky [ __ ]
25:17 we've showed that it can make images um
25:18 I'm going to also show you that it can
25:20 see
25:22 images so let's see what do we got here

25:43 go okay so I uploaded a picture of a
25:47 whiteboard and I'm literally just going

25:50 say what is this and by the way if
25:54 you're wondering how I'm talking to my
25:56 computer and it's typing in it's just a
25:58 Mac accessibility thing it's the F5 key
26:01 has a little microphone on it I think
26:03 you need to enable it in
26:05 settings um but then it goes into is so
26:07 is there any copyright problem with
26:09 subjects and images
26:12 um not right now if you're an Enterprise
26:15 customer um they just created a thing at
26:18 open aai called copyright Shield where
26:20 they'll cover your legal costs if you
26:22 face that as end users there's not a lot
26:25 for us to worry about in well
26:28 I don't think there's major risk about
26:31 being sued for copyright infringement as
26:33 an individual contributor there might be
26:36 issues with you getting a copyright for
26:39 your work if that's something you want
26:40 to do so this just described this
26:43 appears to be a photograph of a
26:45 whiteboard with notes for a UI design
26:48 the sketches seem to represent different
26:50 screens they mention a food court One
26:53 Restaurant except it suggests the system
26:55 could be for ordering food at air
26:58 airports food court other elements talk
27:01 about
27:02 currency um and additional
27:05 functionalities
27:07 um it's a typical example of an initial
27:10 design phase so what I can say here
27:13 is please give me a project plan for how
27:17 we would build this
27:21 app and it
27:24 will and then you can ask it I could
27:26 even ask it to um generate an ad that we
27:29 might see in an airport for this app and
27:32 it will do that it can generate the code
27:34 from this so you can take very very
27:36 little input and and so so think about
27:39 this we're now we we now have the
27:41 capacity to use images as our prompt
27:45 right so for the last year everyone's
27:46 talked about prompt engineering well
27:49 that game has just changed is gp4 more
27:51 accurate than gp4 turbo no gp4 turbo is
27:56 more accurate and more up to date they
27:58 updated the base model to a uh April
28:02 2023 is the most recent data okay so
28:07 that's Vision it can see [ __ ] so
28:10 experiment with that now I'm going to do
28:11 code interpreter so code
28:14 interpreter you can also upload a file
28:17 again notice that you know I'm not
28:19 having to switch modes to do image stuff
28:22 or or csvs or whatever so if I go
28:26 archive

29:01 okay so I'm going to grab a zip file of
29:04 some
29:05 CSV and I'm going to drag that into chat
29:09 GPT I don't know what's in the zip file
29:11 I know it's a CSV file but I don't know
29:13 what it is so I'm just going to say to
29:16 it please open this ZIP file look at the
29:18 CSV and tell me what the data
29:24 is and so it's going to go do
29:26 that
29:28 now what's actually happening here which
29:30 again all all this stuff is mind-blowing
29:33 but this one in particular this is the
29:35 the functionality called code
29:37 interpreter where what it's doing is
29:40 it's writing and executing its own
29:42 python code behind the scenes so it
29:44 creates a little container like a little
29:46 mini computer instance and it's got
29:50 access to python libraries and so when I
29:52 ask it to unzip the file it's writing
29:53 the python code to do that and then once
29:56 it looks inside sees there CSV files
29:59 that writes more python code to go look
30:00 at the first few
30:02 rows and let's see what it
30:06 says still
30:09 analyzing what's left in the creative
30:12 process if we just use AI in art circles
30:15 AI is taboo so ASU I I listen there is a
30:19 lot of anger in art
30:23 circles mostly from people who haven't
30:26 tried this yet so
30:28 so every single time there's been a new
30:31 technology that's come onto the scene
30:34 people are afraid of it and threatened
30:36 by it and so it's no different with this
30:38 stuff um the artist that I know let's
30:41 see why is this oh here we
30:45 go the date in the first row is 2017
30:49 that was kind of a crappy response and
30:51 it took a long
30:53 time please analyze the data and tell me
30:55 what interesting Trends you see in it
30:58 period what would be the most
31:01 interesting data to
31:08 visualize
31:11 um the the the fact of the matter is the
31:16 the fear from people that are not using
31:18 chat GPT is that if chat GPT does the
31:22 work then you don't need my creativity
31:26 and and the opposite is actually true
31:28 what chat PT ends up doing is it ends up
31:31 giving you more ideas than you would
31:33 have had otherwise and you can execute
31:35 things much more quickly what's
31:38 still incredibly required is strategy
31:42 critical thinking refinement
31:45 understanding business needs things like
31:46 that now if you're just doing tactical
31:50 execution like if you're just doing you
31:52 know Photoshop illustration and and
31:55 that's all you're doing then I think
31:56 you're at threat but everyone that I
31:58 know that that's what they were doing
32:01 has embraced this has now figured out
32:04 about 30 different ways to use it beyond
32:06 what they were doing before
32:09 so what I would encourage everyone to do
32:11 is even if you're afraid of this even if
32:13 you're pissed off at it even if you're
32:15 on a soap box saying it's stealing from
32:17 the artist which you know learn enough
32:20 about how it actually works to
32:22 understand what it's doing it's not
32:24 copying and pasting from other people's
32:26 works that's one of the conceptions
32:28 about it so a lot of the anger and
