20. 4:35there's not much more Chad addd like than starting a one of 30day Deep dive uh uh concept on a Thursday with no

23. 5:17operators um one of the things that that we'll do is we'll go play with them um I'm going to try not to go on my little
24. 5:32rants sometimes someone ask someone will ask me a question like um why do you think Chad add is worth 20 bucks and
25. 5:41then for 45 minutes I don't shut up I'm gonna try not to do any of those extraneous rants I apparently love them
26. 5:52but it but it kind of flies in the face of deep diving um but this is still chadad so there's absolutely a
27. 6:00possibility we never get to operators tonight no we will it's a deep dive we're going to get to operators so if

35. 7:06protecting our privacy thank goodness right um and so they they but anyway they they they did a ban on this thing
36. 7:13called Tik Tock and but it's back but it's not but it is but it's not but it's sort of there but the algorithm's
37. 7:19different and everybody's all upset and they think it's part of meta now anyway hey ticktock we shaking if you
38. 7:28have questions about AI pop in the comments below I will also uh do my best to monitor I will do my best to monitor

40. 7:56um okay so yeah let me let me talk to you about oper Ator so operators came out today couple of things about them
41. 8:03they're only available right now to chat GPT Pro users I was not a chat GPT Pro user I didn't for me going from 01 to 01
42. 8:18Pro I like I'm not smart enough to use 01 well but operators are a completely different thing operators are the
43. 8:29beginnings of autonomous agents and and Cat GPT seems to have done it pretty well uh and so we'll dig into that we'll start playing with
44. 8:39them um they're only available to Pro users that's the $200 a month um uh subscription um is it worth it I don't [ __ ] know it's a lot of
45. 8:54[ __ ] money but I've got them and we'll start playing with them you got to wear the shock color for this to work I totally
46. 9:04got to wear the shock color for this to work um some other interesting news from open AI today um in the past week or so there's been a
47. 9:15lot of noise about this new model out of China called Deep seek R1 that is outperforming uh chat gbt
48. 9:2601 um and a lot of people kind of losing their minds over it well and it's free so Sam Alman today announced that when
49. 9:35they launch O3 mini the new you know the the 01 replacement the little mini version of it uh which is about as good
50. 9:45as 01 uh that's going to be made available for free users as well as plus and pro users um which I think that's a pretty big deal all right
51. 9:56[Music] I checked deep seek and seem to like it better yeah one of the things that I think uh Ethan mullik posted about this
52. 10:06today and I was thinking the same thing one of the things I've noticed about why people like deep seek better one is that
53. 10:15it's you know it's hitting benchmarks and things like that um but a lot of the comments are about how friendly it is and how it's
54. 10:26um how informal it is and Ethan mullik posted about this today and I I posted I I did it on a live here about a year ago
55. 10:36where it became clear to me that these large language models have personalities and we're going to start
56. 10:43to fall in love with the personalities of the large language models not fall in love with but but like we're going to
57. 10:49imprint on the way chat GPT talks to you or the way Claude talks to you or the way deep seek talks to you and it's not
58. 10:57going to be so much whether it's better or not it's going to be like is it better for you like do you like that
59. 11:03thing's personality so um so it's possible that deep seek is just you know Charming the pants off of everyone and
60. 11:10that's why they like it better but we'll see but uh I did see today someone got deep seek like a an optimized version of it running on a
61. 11:22Raspberry Pi it looked like a souped up Raspberry Pie it had a it had a a hat on it or whatever the [ __ ] they call those
62. 11:29things an additional board it's less clined to deliver a lecture by way of an answer there you [Music]
63. 11:43go ah the the the uh Raspberry Pi had 32 gigabytes of vram that makes sense won't it be adorable if Tik Tock
64. 11:55gets banned but deep seek isn't outlawed well I don't think they how well I guess they could Outlaw deep seek but why would they do [Music]

80. 14:46um and we have clubs clubs and hubs and clubs are little private areas little subcommunities of the salon so if you
81. 14:56scroll down to the bottom one one of those clubs is called the Irregulars and that's this group that all met here on
82. 15:05this live we have our own little space and we get to hang out there and share cool things and have chitter chat and
83. 15:12sometimes I'll have people build stuff and you can dump it in there uh but but anyway go check out the salon if you
84. 15:18haven't if you haven't played with the salon or been there it's worth it couple of things about Community it is very very clear to me
85. 15:29now that 2025 is going to be the start of the disruption that it's going to be clear that we have co-workers that are not people that are
86. 15:43better than we are and that's going to start in 2025 so there's going to be some disruption I think one of the
87. 15:50single best ways you can hedge against the disruption that's coming is to get your ass into a community start being a trusted contributing
88. 16:03ndy member of that Community right because what's going to happen is there's going to be a shift from we hire people because they've got
89. 16:14skills to we hire people because we know and trust them now I don't know how long that transition takes I think it's
90. 16:22probably three to five years but it could happen faster but it starts in 2025 so getting yourself into a
91. 16:30community like uh she leads AI or the AI exchange or the AI Salon is important and don't just be in there lurking part of the part of the
92. 16:41thing we talk about this idea of generous leadership generously lead others enriching lives refining what's possible
93. 16:48and unlocking a new era of human achievement what that looks like is Learn out Loud share what you're learning you know offer to help people
94. 16:58people ask for help give someone else a chance to lead in doing that you'll build relationships you'll also establish
95. 17:06yourself as someone who can get things done and is curious and is adaptable hyper curiosity and Hyper
96. 17:16adaptability are going to be the skills starting in 2025 that get rewarded in business hyper curiosity willing to play
97. 17:26willing to experiment willing to figure it out out and Hyper adaptability okay I just built this thing oh [ __ ] now
98. 17:33operators came out and it made that useless whatever next moving on here let me tell you what I'm learning that ability to be nimble like
99. 17:43that is going to be the skill for some time and then combine that with being in a community of people that know you and
100. 17:52trust you and understand you what's going to happen is this bunch of people are going to get laid off some people will be curious and
101. 18:00end up in groups like the AI Salon some people in the AI Salon are going to get really good at this [ __ ]
102. 18:08and they're going to get hired because they're really good at this [ __ ] and at some point they're going to have more
103. 18:12work than they know what to do with who do you think they're going to hire they're going to hire people from
104. 18:20in here I think that's one of the big unlocks starting in 2025 so get your ass in community all right boom see what I'm

192. 37:06productive they can be how creative they can be what they can accomplish we're starting today with Operator Operator is
193. 37:12a system that can use a web browser uh in this case a web browser in the cloud to accomplish tasks that you give it and
194. 37:18we'll show you a demo in just a second but it's really quite steo it's set up in Sam's basement or Sam's mom's basement
195. 37:29that's what it looks like it really is it really just is visually so awkward and look these three have all
196. 37:38been media trained okay sit there act natural and look at the camera you're GNA be fine just breathe I'm sorry this is one of the
197. 37:50more important announcements in the history of humanity carry on um just like you would use a web browser you get pixels in you can look
198. 37:58at a screen and control an operator can do that and then control the keyboard and the mouse and do all sorts of things
199. 38:03this is going to go live today in the United States for pro users and it'll be other countries soon Europe will
200. 38:09unfortunately take a while okay so the the the uh the the downside of Regulation when when your uh when your
201. 38:17continent decides to regulate AI too early and can't anticipate what's coming your Europe's laws they're not going to
202. 38:24get operators for so that's going to take some time is what he said so other countries soon um right now for the US
203. 38:31it is available for pro um any they said he said coming in a couple of months for for uh for plus users uh and we'll also
204. 38:40in the coming months make it available in the coming months both the plus users um this is an early research preview we
205. 38:46got a lot of improvements to do we'll make it better we'll make it cheaper we'll make it more widely available but
206. 38:50we really want to put it in people's hands we'll also have more agents to launch in the coming weeks and months

212. 39:26can see the interface is very similar to chat GPD you can type in a prompt and an operator will try to execute the task to
213. 39:32the best of its capability you'll also see we have a list of Prill prompts here these are not really meant to be
214. 39:38recommendations these are meant to be things that you know to give you an idea of what operator can do you have also
215. 39:43collaborated with various Brands like open table so I wanna I want to talk about this a bit Sam just said it a bit and he's saying it again
216. 39:53here engineers in these research labs can do can put these tools together but they can they can really not anticipate
217. 40:04how all of us especially as non-engineers and creative types and clueless non-technical types they're taking something that is
218. 40:14ostensibly incredibly Technical and Incredibly powerful and they're making it simple enough that anyone can use it
219. 40:22you you'll hear in a second they're not using apis here this is all being done with chat GPT viewing looking at the web page
220. 40:34interpreting it and then taking actions based on what it sees no apis are needed so even though they've got these deals cut with things
221. 40:43like open table and and things like that to ensure a better experience I had to do some stuff today I I had to go out
222. 40:51and find some clinical trials for Lyme disease and it just went off and did it it found clinical trials it started
223. 40:57applying for them things like that so um so that's a really important part of this so um I I just want you to keep that in mind that
224. 41:07that they're not just giving lip service to they've got to get this thing in the hands of people who are not the people
225. 41:13that built it so that they can understand how people are going to use it so they can figure out what to make
226. 41:19safe um and and they've done a lot of stuff with safety which I think is actually quite smart we'll talk about
227. 41:24that all recipes tub Hub Uber thum to dash eBay Target to make sure operator really works well on these websites but
228. 41:32also we think users will find operator Val very valuable in interacting with these platforms so with that let's jump
229. 41:39in with a demo okay so I'm going to start with something fairly simple I'm going to use open table and say book me
230. 41:46a table for two at Beretta tonight at 7 p.m. okay and so you specifically chose Open Table yeah in this case I'm asking operator to use
231. 41:58Open Table to book a table for two at Beretta Beretta is a restaurant in San Francisco it's great you should try it
232. 42:03out uh and at 7 p.m. and I could I'm I'm using Open Table in this case but I could have easily said just do Beretta
233. 42:10and it would have probably gone to search engine figured out how to make a reservation as well but let's see what
234. 42:14it does so can you explain what's happening in this like yeah right so I'm going to expand this a little bit so as
235. 42:20soon as I type in the query operator instantiated a completely remote browser this browser is running in the cloud somewhere
236. 42:27and as you can see it's already up and running okay so again he said instantiated a browser in the cloud so
237. 42:35you're not surfing your browser you're surfing the browser that they're running inside operator um that's one of the
238. 42:42safe one of the safety layers here is you're basically just running in this you know relatively hermetically sealed
239. 42:48little little session and it can do all of the stuff within this session but it can't do stuff outside of that session
240. 42:55so it's not reaching outside of chat GPT they've brought a web browser inside chat GPT and my hands are of the $200 a
241. 43:05month can we share membership unfortunately no keyboard I'm not typing these things this is just the AI is
242. 43:10clicking around a is just clicking around it it started this browser session it knew where openable website
243. 43:16is which is open.com as you can see it's summarized Chain of Thought here as well which is it's gone to the URL search
244. 43:22okay what he's talking about here on the left you can't really see it on Tik Tok but on the left he's saying it's it's uh
245. 43:29a Chain of Thought reasoning so it's giving itself text instructions that it's then following um so so it
246. 43:37basically writes itself a plan it then looks at the web page sees what it sees and does enough clicking around until it
247. 43:44executes the first part of the plan and then if it succeeds there then it goes to the next part of the plan and if not then it tries other
248. 43:52[ __ ] for Bera and something cool really wait thanks Kyle that's a really good argument against the fear that the
249. 43:59elites are going to try to hoard the compute for themselves I don't know what I said I don't know what I said um I can't
250. 44:07and I can't tell if you're being factious or not Kyle should do an interp interpretation of what's being said in a
251. 44:15regulars language like an anger interpreter from Key and Peele happened which is for some reason operator Open Table thought we were in

349. 58:04um rabbit R1 junkies these things wait where's my camera these things the uh the rabbit R1 these had a
350. 58:16version of of what they've built here um in their operating system it just they didn't build it it it was not scalable
351. 58:24and not really usable but that's that's how that thing does what it does um it's just um open AI is kind of
352. 58:32open AI right now is the first one that's cracked this um Claude has this but you need to use apis and you need to
353. 58:41use programming this is not that Tik Tok API had um they have an A AI watching they have an AI watching the operator so
354. 58:51prompt injection can't be used against it oh that's fascinating all the functions that it needed and you need to give you know your model
355. 58:58the specs to that API but you know if your site like most other websites did not have an API then you're out of so
356. 59:03this is just using screenshots no API nothing just API yes um and that's where Kua comes in um by teaching a model how
357. 59:11to use the same basic interface that we use on a daily basis it just you know unlocks a whole new range of uh software
358. 59:16that can use it was previously inaccessible and so this is keyboard and mouse right it's kind of using keyboard
359. 59:21and mouse just exactly yes um and that's really what the cool research project is about it's about removing one more
360. 59:27bottleneck in our path towards AGI and letting our agents move around and act in the digital world so let's make that
361. 59:34a little bit more concrete by looking at this task and seeing exactly how operator is using a computer so done it

367. 1:00:14it's a reasonable thing to do um so after it does this plan it then figures out what the next action it should take
