28. 3:57around a little bit. I'm going to play with um advanced voice, the new birectional voice model from Open AI. It's quite
29. 4:08good. It's quite impressive. And it's it's not complete. The rollout isn't complete right now because it doesn't
30. 4:15have any access to my history. And it's actually, you know, one of the things that made advanced voice interesting to
31. 4:24use at all was like it knew who the irregulars were and it knew, you know, what these lives were and it knew things
32. 4:31that we had talked about. So I could reference the great repurpose and it would know about that. It doesn't know
33. 4:38about that anymore. So, um, that's likely a temporary, um, rollout glitch, but the model's pretty impressive. And
34. 4:47so, I'll demo some of that. Then, we're going to go check out, um, Grock, imagine. That's their new image and video model. Those are quite
35. 4:58impressive. I also use the the Gro app when I'm just out and about. I'll show you a fun thing that you can do if you
36. 5:05have the Gro app. Um, making videos. It's kind of fun. Um, and then there was another thing I wanted to do. We'll talk a little bit
37. 5:15about uh chat GPT. Uh, 5.6 comes out tomorrow. Grock 4.5 comes out tomorrow. Um, I don't know if they're being rolled out wide. I think
38. 5:27they are, but I'm not sure. Um, but it looks like people that have gotten their hands on those models seem pretty
39. 5:33impressed with them. Um, first thing I want to show though is I want to show the launch video that Chat GPT put
40. 5:45together for this new voice model today. So they did their they did their awkward, you know, four four awkward
41. 5:54engineers at a tiny table roll out, but before that they played a video. So, one of the things that you can do
42. 6:02when you raise billions of dollars for your company is you can go by real marketing professionals to help you do
43. 6:09rollouts. And so, um, they put out, um, like a three and a half minute video that I want to play, um, for this new
44. 6:17voice model. And I think it's actually quite good. I, as I was watching it, I'm like, this could piss people off. It
45. 6:24will probably disappoint technical people, but I actually saw it as a as a really effective um video and it'll be
46. 6:33interesting for for them to cut it into into commercials and things like that. Um, but let me do that. I thought you
47. 6:40were going to say they would have want better tables. The Here's the thing. Google Google did this for a lot of years where Google was just
48. 6:53a G-Shock startup out of a garage and they tried to maintain that G G-Shocks kind of startup feel for a little too
49. 7:02long. Um, I would say OpenAI is fairly in the camp of they should be having big launch events, right? Get a stage, get a
50. 7:11bunch of people in the audience, launch the [ __ ] thing, make a ruckus, bring out your articulate people. Uh, but you
51. 7:18[laughter] know that's they're not there yet. They're but they did this video which this could have gone the video
52. 7:26that I'm about to show you could have gone south very quickly. Like it could have been very very bad.

93. 14:41became clear to me is, oh, they actually hired real actors, probably actors that have done sitcoms, right? So they
94. 14:48actually got a casting director. They got, you know, three women that could talk. Um, Rethinking Aging Club has two p podcasts
95. 14:59all on Boomer Tech Talk. Oh, cool. Um, an executive producer on Agent Club. I give this four stars. Oh, that's so
96. 15:08cool. Yeah. So, so I mean, so here's a couple of things. [clears throat] One is there's kind of a cliche of old
97. 15:16people not being able to use computers. I think one of the things that that we prove, you know, on a regular basis in
98. 15:23the AI salon and in in in this channel is that, you know, boomers and Gen Xers are kicking ass with AI. So, so it it
99. 15:35reinforces something that I know, but I think that's not the perception out there. In the previous rounds of of chatgpt voice, um
100. 15:48there were a fair amount of, you know, viral videos that went around of like a son trying to get his mom to talk to chat GPT
101. 15:56and she would interrupt it, but chat GPT couldn't handle that. And so like right off the bat, you've got this woman with
102. 16:04this, you know, New York accent or Jersey accent interrupting interrupting this thing and it's not losing a beat.
103. 16:12So that that was pretty cool. Um, and then they actually demoed the functionality well and they brought in
104. 16:18these three different friends, right? And [laughter] they they all demoed different pieces of the thing. So they
105. 16:24they demoed the tech well. Um, it was funny. It was well done. They they had good personalities. They had good interactions. Um,
106. 16:35and like you kind of get what the technology is and assuming they're not faking the interaction, it looks pretty good,
107. 16:46right? Um, totally. My workshop audiences are all boom boomers. Yeah, there you go. Like like older people are
108. 16:54like the younger people are just like, "Fuck technology. I'm out. I don't want to deal with any of your AI. I don't
109. 17:00like you people. I don't like what you've done to our planet. I don't like what you've done to the human beings that raised me. [laughter]

159. 26:45actual terrain using the Google Maps API, assuming that there's a free version of it. And if not, then just make a flight
160. 26:59simulator of a model airplane that you can fly around Manhattan. Period. But ideally, what I'd like to be able to do is type in a location
161. 27:16and the map takes me there and then I can fly around that area and see the actual satellite imagery of that area
162. 27:27with real-time elevations and terrain period. The flight simulator should be smooth and more like a game than
163. 27:40an actual simulator. I should be able to fly really fast or really slow. So maybe it's like from blimp to jet [sighs] period.
164. 27:54And you should also make it look like a really cool combination of animated airplane and interface elements and photorealistic map elements.
165. 28:12And other than your exorbitant token rate, it shouldn't cost me any money to use the Google API for maps.
166. 28:22Unless I'm clueless and you have to spend money on that. Period. Okay. And then you should also think
167. 28:33about adding two features that you come up with that you think are super cool that I can't come up with because I
168. 28:42don't really have any imagination and I'm a bit of a dumb dumb. And as you know, humans are the bottleneck. So,
169. 28:52impress me and all of the people that I'm showing this to with your two super cool features that are way better than

173. 29:41talk different, think different, [laughter] write different than people who don't. And then so you know my seven economies slide
174. 29:55where you've got the analog economy and then you've got increasing levels of AI adoption and it sort of gets weirder the
175. 30:01far farther you go forward. I think we're going to have that with people, right? Like people that first start using AI, they're like, "Oh my
176. 30:10god, it's amazing." Like anything it does is just mind-blowing. And they're in that sort of [screaming]
177. 30:16kind of thing, right? And people that don't use it at all are like, "What's that AI thing? I'm I'm fine. I'm I'm
178. 30:23fine. You know what? I like making PDFs." [laughter] Right? They're off doing that. Then you got blueberry farmers doing their thing.
179. 30:34And then and then after the Shangrila phase of AI, you get into that phase where you're like, "Oh, uh h it's not quite perfect. It seems
180. 30:45perfect, but now it's not quite perfect. And oh, there's all these issues with it. There's ethical issues and I don't
181. 30:51know if I like all of this." Right? There's the quandry phase. And then there's the you sort of get to
182. 30:57the other side of that and you get into the sort of productivity phase. You're like, "Okay, I've worked out all my
183. 31:01ethical [ __ ] Now I'm going to go build some [ __ ] Then you go build [ __ ] and you build the [ __ ] and then you put the [ __ ] in the
184. 31:08world and no one cares about it." And you're like, "Oh, huh. No one else cared about my [ __ ] It was pretty cool. Why don't they care about
185. 31:16my shit?" It's like, cuz they're building their [ __ ] Everyone's building [ __ ] No one has time to look at other people's [ __ ]
186. 31:24So then you get disillusioned and then you also realized how burned out you got making all the [ __ ] that no
187. 31:30one paid attention to. That's phase four. I should this we this should be a new seven economies. Th this should
188. 31:36[laughter] be the seven layers of AI hell. You start in the dirt then you go to denial. I don't like it. You're like
189. 31:49woo. I mean I do have the five stages of AI adoption. This is essentially that. But there's some nuance to the later
190. 31:54stages now. There's some new later stages. Um, so you build [ __ ] you get burned out, and and then you get into that, well,
191. 32:04maybe I just need to back off AI for a bit, right? And and you quit it for a while, and you're like, I should
192. 32:13probably do that AI thing again, right? And then you dig back in, but you realize you've got to be more
193. 32:18intentional with it. And then I think the final evolution of this thing is like purposefully slowing down and
194. 32:28purposefully checking like intentionally not doing some parts of the process in AI. The seven [laughter] layers of AI
195. 32:36that was a good one, right? I think that I think that would be a good So so we'll do it. Okay. So it's so there there's there's
196. 32:45blissful ignorance. I'm just growing blueberries. There's denial. Ah, that AI stuff, I don't care about it. What is that? Nobody cares.
197. 32:55Uh, the the third layer is, oh my god, what happened? The fourth layer is, I'm excited. I'm scared. I'm disappointed.
198. 33:10It's more impressive than I thought. It's way more disappointing than I imagined it would be. That's layer four.

200. 33:30realize that none of the stuff that I'm building anyone is looking at or using. [laughter] Then I think there's layer six is
201. 33:42backing off it but missing it. So longing for your AI buddy [laughter] and then and then layer seven is some sort
202. 33:51of I don't know some sort of mature thing where you recognize it's good for some things it's horrible for many things.
203. 34:01You're going to go do stuff without it. You have a more mature relationship. You're you're not screwing it all the

398. 1:15:19on July 12th, Fable goes away. So, so a couple of things happened. Fable was supposed to go away last night at midnight
399. 1:15:28and then at like 4 in the afternoon after everyone had blown through their Fable tokens, um, Anthropic said, "Well, we're going
400. 1:15:37to keep it live until the 12th," which is, I guess, Sunday. Is that right? And so, it's going to go away. And
401. 1:15:47people have blown through their tokens and they didn't reup the tokens. So everyone's there's everyone's got a sour
402. 1:15:52taste in their mouth right now with Anthropic. Like they kind of [ __ ] this thing up. Daario was out going these

416. 1:17:54focusing on coding. So they're optimizing for that. Um so it's supposed to be good at that. I also heard that it's it's good at
417. 1:18:05front-end design. Um, and then the third thing that is a possibility, but I don't I don't think it's going to happen
418. 1:18:14is that but but I think this is going to happen probably in the next three months. Open AAI is going to combine chat GPT
419. 1:18:24with codeex with their web browser. So chat GPT is just going to become this I don't even know what to call it.
420. 1:18:37I guess kind of an interface to a whole ecosystem of capabilities. So, everything from just like regular chat to image generation to
421. 1:18:50full-on agentic coding and automations and hooks and all the stuff that those things can do operating on your computer locally.
