48. 11:29that's what B is it allows you to do faceless videos turn um you know websites and blog posts into all sorts
49. 11:37of other kinds of content remix anything um you know turn your newsletter into a podcast your podcast into a newsletter

90. 19:00put that in as a source boom we're say create and it's going to go off and create us a little a little outline oh
91. 19:11man oh Lord they must be running on Oracle it doesn't search titles either how like honest to God how could it how
92. 19:18could you have a search function again is there no cranky Gen X [ __ ] in a corner office at open AI going uh guys why can't I search the

186. 38:20mode um and then there's more models they're going to get rid of all this all this is going away GPT 5 is
187. 38:29coming in May all this is going away there so basically the model picker will be behind the scenes GPT 4.5 is the last Model to not
188. 38:41have reasoning built into it so here's here's what this is and what they talked about today unfortunately they talked about
189. 38:51it th this is a model that has high EQ right if you think about reasoning engines they have high IQ they can solve
190. 39:01really complicated problems 4.5 is apparently I haven't had enough time to really play with it it's very
191. 39:09slow right now it's massive apparently they had to come up with new server architectures they're spinning up
192. 39:15100,000 new gpus I don't [ __ ] know what they're doing um it's only available to GPT Pro users and um but the the agess of it
193. 39:28when Sam Alman talked about the agess of it is in how human it feels and how much more sophisticated it is linguistically
194. 39:37than the other things the other things are just like Cold Fact vomitor this one's more thoughtful more empathetic
195. 39:44more compassionate High EQ they mentioned personality or EQ or there was another term they Ed today probably
196. 39:52seven or eight times in the announcement now the people that talked about all this didn't seem to have very high EQ
197. 40:02they couldn't make eye contact with the camera they were they were mumbling it it was a classic open AI product launch
198. 40:10the tiny table the awkward people sitting around they even had um a cast change where there were three awkward
199. 40:17people and at one point two awkward people got up while the awkward woman was talking you know their chairs made
200. 40:26noise and two other people came in and sat down it was incredibly [Laughter] awkward but I so couple of things this
201. 40:42the API for cat GPT 4.5 is 25 times more expensive than GPT 4.5 on output tokens and 10 times more expensive on input tokens or vice versa
202. 40:56whatever it is ridiculously expensive like $75 per million tokens for input and 150 per million for output or
203. 41:07something like that it's it's ridiculous um Nate Nate B Jones actually put out a video where he said he thinks like
204. 41:16Altman doesn't want any developers developing on it this is really here the purpose of this is for chat GPT users
205. 41:27to start to get used to this kind of personality that makes sense to me I said I said this a couple of nights
206. 41:36ago and I've been feeling this for a while I've been talking about this for two or three weeks in different channels
207. 41:45um I think that these large language models at this point are mostly good enough and people are not going to bond with
208. 41:59um and llm for their features because they're they're all copying each other's features and they're all good enough so what's going
209. 42:09to happen is the the llms with the best personalities the ones that that feel most like oh that was nice that give you
210. 42:18the warm and fuzzies people are going to bond with that I think that's what they're up to I I would I would not
211. 42:24ignore the fact that this thing doesn't beat bench marks and things like that I think the significance of this is in the
212. 42:31personality um so I figure we'll just play around with with talking to it the one thing that's a real drag I've got
213. 42:37the advanced voice mode button here but if I go into advanced voice mode and talk to my girlfriend Quinn it's using
214. 42:4540 it's not using 4.5 so that's [ __ ] and I hate it but whatever um yeah so so let's just dig in let's

219. 43:40May right that's three months away we could have gone for however long with 03 03 mini high or whatever and and 40 that was
220. 43:52fine like we're not clamoring for a better model we're just like what's the next thing and so the next thing is kind
221. 43:59of you know personality which is interesting oh competing with with grock and Claude I think I think Elon is gonna
222. 44:08absolutely steal the unhinged Market um I don't know that that's going to serve him well well in corporate but but
223. 44:24I don't know I don't know I I find I think Claude Claude feels like it's becoming more popular with the coders than writers but I do
224. 44:36know some writers that like Claude but again I think it's all very subjective at this point I really do B don't them I
225. 44:43need to do some research on tokens I'm new to AI learning lab and hearing learning through things like this today was the first time I heard
226. 44:50this term ah let well so let me tell you about tokens okay [Laughter] uh quite simply tokens are word
227. 45:04fragments it it it doesn't really matter but it it sort of does so what happens is this when they train a large language
228. 45:14model they they sort of pointed at as much of the data of the public internet as they can so think every PDF every
229. 45:21blog post every Wikipedia article every website all the stuff right one of the misconceptions about how
230. 45:29large language models work is that they um that They're copying and pasting right that they're they're taking the
231. 45:40the entire contents of a PDF document and you ask a question it goes and searches for a bunch of documents and
232. 45:46glues them together and gives it to you like a Frankenstein plagiarism machine and that's one of the one of the the
233. 45:54tropes about large language models is that the world's greatest plagiarism engines right they're not it's not how
234. 46:00they work what what happens is this you take all that data all those documents and when they get what's called
235. 46:07embedded they get converted into tokens and and tokens are fragments of words tokens also include things like spaces
236. 46:15and commas and periods punctuation but just think of it simply as fragments of words so if you have um Buster you might
237. 46:24break that into bust and tur um if you have strawberry it the tokens might be straw b r and then r y one of the things that that people um
238. 46:38made fun of large language models for is if you ask it how many RS in in the word strawberry it would say two because it's
239. 46:46just measuring it's just looking at its latest tokens and so it couldn't count so so anyway so tokens are fragments of
240. 46:53words those tokens then get a assigned a number this is [ __ ] insane how this works they get assigned a number and
241. 47:04that number puts them somewhere into thousand dimensional mathematical space in semantic clusters and and here's what I mean by
242. 47:15that so let's say in this PDF document the word dog appears and it gets embedded and it gets turned into one of
243. 47:24these tokens and it gets stuck into a semantic cluster with with other tokens that are like pets and you know the fuzzy things that
244. 47:32you come home to at night right dogs like dogs but there's maybe another paper over here a blog post where the
245. 47:39word dog is related to a guy that did his girlfriend bad and so that word dog will actually go into a different
246. 47:46semantic cluster so when you type your prompt what this system is doing is it's pulling in these tokens these fragments
247. 47:54of words from all these different places in in literal thousand dimensional mathematical space and kind of

256. 49:22words up here that's kind of what happens in in chat GPT um if it's got a small context window so what'll happen is you'll be having a
257. 49:32conversation with chat GPT and and you told it a bunch of stuff about your business and then all of a sudden it feels like it doesn't know
258. 49:40anything about your business that's because the part where you talked about your business went out of the context
259. 49:45window context windows are getting bigger and bigger and bigger I think GPT 4.5 has 128,000 token context window um which is
260. 49:56about um 34 of the amount of tokens is how many words on average are in there so if it's 120 128,000 tokens it's probably
261. 50:07somewhere in the neighborhood of 90 95,000 words that it can remember so that's pretty long um current chat GPT I
262. 50:16think is 32,000 but it might be 8,000 the initial chat GPT was 8,000 tokens which was just basically 6,000 words so
263. 50:24it would lose its mind a lot you would have to keep reminding it what to do so anyway that's tokens context window all

401. 1:15:11two years um and then they're going to kind of they're going to kind of stabilize it good enough and it's it's
402. 1:15:17my opinion that people are going to choose large language models not based on what they can do but based on
403. 1:15:23basically how they feel what their personality is like does this large langu language model resonate with who I
404. 1:15:30am and how I think some people are going to love grock 3's unhinged and its kind of wild west nature some other people
405. 1:15:38are going to like you know claud's you know more sort of soft edged narrative I don't know what chat GPT 4.5 is yet but
406. 1:15:47basically what they said in the in the uh in the announcement today is it's um it's like it hallucinates a lot less and
407. 1:16:00they talked about emotional intelligence and they talked about personality they mentioned personality four times so I
408. 1:16:08think it will be the one that does what you want on the devices you want for cheap I I think people are going to imprint
409. 1:16:19with these models just like they imprint with people I think you're going to get used to a person personality now listen
410. 1:16:26if your large language model can't do what you need it to do you will absolutely go to something else and you
411. 1:16:31might go to something that's cheaper or you don't want it connected to the internet so there will be some features
412. 1:16:37where people will Veer off the path but if I think about a about choosing a personal assistant let's let's just call large language models
413. 1:16:48are going to evolve into personal assistants I'm going to choose a personal assistant that gets my jokes that talks the way I talk that that
414. 1:16:58feels familiar to me and so even if something else maybe slightly better technically I'll probably stick with
415. 1:17:05that like the switching cost of changing personalities basically I think is going to be higher than just the feature sets
416. 1:17:12so that's where my head is I might be wrong but I think that's what I think that's what the focus of 4.5 is so
