8:04 for that I [ __ ] pay $20 for is
8:07 supposed to be Gemini Ultra so rather
8:10 than announcing anything about Gemini

8:16 all they put 1.5 Pro in place of
8:21 ultra for paid Advanced users and then
8:25 they announced some new
8:27 model which is a Gemini
8:30 I guess it's a like I forget what they
8:32 called it Gemini action or
8:35 some some weird
8:38 thing but basically where they're headed
8:42 is I I guess Ultra sucked and they
8:45 couldn't get it
8:47 working but they but it's just weird to
8:50 not talk about it or I don't know it was
8:53 weird it was weird
8:57 um they did announce a her like
9:01 assistant um a a multimodal model I
9:05 guess it's based on Gemini
9:08 Pro that does they they they called it a
9:12 he called it a
9:15 prototype no
9:19 a I don't know it was clearly it was it
9:21 was just test
9:23 software but they showed someone walking
9:26 around the office and he said this was
9:28 this was filmed in one X and they made
9:30 sure to like keep the phone in frame all
9:33 time so it was clear there were no edits
9:35 and they filmed it in 1X cuz the the
9:38 when they did Ultra they got busted for
9:41 accelerating
9:43 everything so they showed something that
9:46 was very similar to what open AI showed
9:49 except open AI was the The Voice part of
9:52 it was significantly better than
9:54 Google's Google still sounded like a
9:56 chat bot but it was fast and it did have
9:59 Vision so a woman you know said when you
10:03 see something that makes sound let me
10:06 know and she panned across a desk and
10:07 there was a speaker and it saw the
10:09 speaker and then she Drew on the screen
10:11 and said what's this and it said oh
10:13 that's the Tweeter and here's what it
10:16 does but almost all of the stuff that
10:20 was cool that they announced today was
10:22 like available later this year it's
10:27 like um
10:30 and it was funny I went
10:33 to oh I was I was in a I was part of a
10:37 press conference today where we were
10:38 trying to get Governor polus to to veto
10:41 the the shitty AI law here in Colorado
10:44 and I was prepping for that so I went to
10:47 Gemini and I figured it's connected to
10:49 the Internet so I said you know write me
10:51 some talking points about this bill you
10:54 know here's here's my general point of
10:56 view go look at the latest version of
10:58 the bill and give me some talking points
11:00 it did a really good job and then as I
11:03 was watching they said oh
11:05 Gemini Pro 1.5 is going to be available
11:08 at Advanced which I pay for so I'm like
11:10 oh let me go do the exact same thing
11:13 I'll take this exact same prompt over to
11:16 the super awesome million token version
11:19 of this thing and like it it was a
11:21 prompt that was um very simple it was
11:23 like uh um go look at this bill and
11:28 here's a point of view or two and just
11:29 write me some talking points if you know
11:31 if if if I just want talking points of
11:34 some things in the bill that could could
11:36 be improved or you know or reasons not
11:38 to pass

11:44 Gemini uh Advanced basically said I
11:47 can't do that it's like I I I can't do
11:53 your like it it wouldn't answer it in
11:55 any
11:57 way like this is the most Advan
12:01 model it was weird so it was weird

12:07 announce a new image tool that looks
12:10 pretty
12:10 impressive and there's one cool piece of
12:13 interface on that image tool we might be
12:14 able to go find that and here's the
12:16 other thing about um about Google that's
12:18 it's it's a [ __ ] train wreck that um
12:23 they announced for Gemini Pro 1.5
12:26 developers are going to be able to get
12:28 access to 2 million token context window
12:30 instead of a million but that you get at
12:34 aist studio. goole.com there's other
12:37 tools that they showed that you get at
12:39 labs. goole.com there's other tools that
12:42 they showed that you get at gemini.com
12:44 or advanced. Gemini whatever the [ __ ] it
12:48 is and then some are in your tools and
12:50 some are not in your tools and they're
12:52 still really [ __ ] up with um with uh
12:57 paid accounts work group accounts versus
12:59 private account so a lot of the tools I

32:51 was later this year or they showed us

32:55 commercially available because I don't
32:56 own them

33:06 new here couple of things my name is

33:11 um I want to get you into community and
33:16 I'm I'm having I I've been having a
33:18 bunch of conversations lately in in a
33:21 bunch of different groups and they're
33:23 all kind of
33:25 converging and here's one of one of the
33:27 things that popping up for
33:31 me we've been doing this generative AI
33:34 stuff right I I sort of Mark the
33:36 beginning of the era that we're in it
33:38 began on November 30th
33:42 2022 and that was when chat GPT came out
33:45 and that was when um machine learning
33:49 and AI was essentially made accessible
33:52 to the rest of us right you didn't have
33:54 to be a scientist you didn't have to be
33:56 a PhD
33:58 nobody understands how much goes into
34:00 these things you will get it when you
34:02 get it no I know this stuff's this
34:05 stuff's tough I get it I do get it
34:08 actually
34:10 um you know it's just you know you were
34:15 Google was successfully preempted by by
34:18 uh chat GPT with a Slicker version of
34:21 the same thing and there's is going to
34:22 be ready sooner so that's that's a drag
34:26 but that's that's life in a big
34:29 city
34:31 um okay so when this channel started all
34:36 of us were just trying to figure it out
34:38 everyone was just like holy [ __ ] what is
34:40 this stuff how do we do it how do you
34:42 make a picture how do you make a chat
34:44 what's a chat what's
34:48 a and then a lot of people started
34:50 building and and now we're sort of
34:52 evolving into a place where not only are
34:54 people building with these tools but
34:57 they're starting to like get noticed in
35:00 their companies and they're starting to
35:02 head up you know AI committees and
35:04 they're starting to build agencies and
35:08 Consulting businesses and things like
35:13 that so the salon that I'm about to talk
35:17 about one of the ways that we've
35:19 organized It Is by tool tool type right
35:24 we've got creative tools and we've got a
35:27 business area and we've got a technology
35:29 area and you you kind of it's kind of
35:32 overwhelming cuz there's just there's a
35:34 there's a lot of places to
35:35 go and one of the things that's striking
35:38 me is that there are three distinct
35:40 phases of of
35:44 AI I guess I guess we'll call it
35:47 Literacy for lack of a better term and
35:50 the first phase is just holy [ __ ] I got
35:53 to learn this oh my God right you have
35:56 your Kev your first Kevin Mall
35:59 moment what was that website again which
36:02 website excuse me sir what was the
36:05 online
36:07 AI Google page again if you want to play
36:11 with Gemini Pro
36:16 1.5 and you're not paying for advanced

36:23 and then you can play with the the
36:26 Gemini model the Gemini 1.5 model where
36:28 you can upload a video and things like
36:30 that that's
36:33 that
36:36 um so so I'm seeing three distinct
36:39 phases the first phase is this sort of
36:41 panic phase of like I got to learn this
36:43 [ __ ] oh my God it's amazing I can't
36:44 sleep at
36:47 night and this channel is essentially
36:49 that for a year just [ __ ] Panic just
36:52 like oh it's a new tool let's go learn
36:54 it ah
36:58 and then the next phase is as you start
37:00 to get your head around some of these
37:02 tools you're like I want to do something
37:03 with it and you start to you start to
37:05 move into
37:07 either a a build mode or potentially a
37:10 buy mode right cuz not everyone's going
37:14 to be a
37:15 builder um but lots of people are going
37:18 to want to access this stuff and then
37:21 the build mode is just like okay what
37:23 can I do with it how can I solve
37:25 problems with it things like that and
37:26 then the and then the final mode is kind
37:28 of where you're starting to bring
37:29 everything together you've got sort of
37:32 rolling ongoing curiosity you're you're
37:35 probably maintaining some [ __ ] you've
37:37 built before you're expanding your
37:39 circle of connections things like that
37:41 so one of the things that we're going to
37:43 explore doing with the salon is make it
37:45 easier for people to kind of self-
37:47 Select into like where are you on this
37:49 journey right and I think I want to
37:51 start doing something like that in here
37:55 so what's critical in my opinion moving
37:59 forward and and not just like if you're
38:02 into AI I think what's critical moving
38:05 forward is that if you want to work
38:08 moving forward you've got to be in
38:11 community and you've got to be building
38:14 up your trust and relationships in that
38:19 community so as you level up and more
38:23 people come on and they're trying to
38:24 figure it out some people are going to
38:26 want to build and you know build for
38:28 other people some people are going to
38:30 come in they're going to get leveled up
38:31 and they're going to be like I I just
38:33 want to pay someone to do this I don't
38:34 want to do it myself and who are they
38:37 going to do that with people they trust
38:38 people they
38:39 know
38:41 so that
