2. 0:16welcome everybody welcome to the AI learning lab we have a shiny new haircut it's very thin on the sides oh happy Saturday
3. 0:32welcome welcome welcome starting a little early tonight I might do a short little session now and then I'll do a longer session later
4. 0:42if you're new here welcome my name is Kyle Shannon this AI learning lab I'm an entrepreneur and a I guess an AI Enthusiast we're
5. 0:52evangelist or demystifier I'm also got I've got some perspective
6. 1:07on this stuff I was there for the early days of the World Wide Web I started one of the first digital agencies in the mid 90s and um
7. 1:16the the early days of the world wide web and the early days of this generative AI stuff feel very very familiar uh
8. 1:24uh very very familiar to me um yeah so if you've got questions about AI or anything like that pop them in the
9. 1:30questions below I'll do my best to answer them J word um well what has AI helped you with hmm Lots within my business I'm using
10. 1:43um open ai's whisper so so I'm the founder and CEO of a company called storybine which is an automated video
11. 1:50storytelling platform we're using whisper to do interactive transcriptions right now uh the company's 11 years old
12. 1:56I haven't had transcriptions for hey Troy uh haven't had transcriptions for like you know 10 and a half of those
13. 2:05years because they just suck the auto transcription sucked so it's helping with that I'm using it within the business to
14. 2:14um for Creative development uh when we when we write prompts for our our video the way our technology Works we've got
15. 2:20to write these question prompts it's helping to do that when we collaborate with clients we're doing um chat gbt prompt writing in real time
16. 2:31hey Emilio's wife what's happening and um so there's that and then I've got an entirely new product Vision uh and uh
17. 2:44completely re-architecting the value proposition and the product of storyline so that's just on the business side then on the personal side
18. 2:52um just I'm more creatively engaged than I've been in decades and um just the more I learn about this the
19. 2:59more I want to do and uh I've created a community around it I've created this community around it my AI Salon uh and
20. 3:07yeah all that sort of stuff another exciting Saturday night in the AI learning lab exactly exactly what'd you do Saturday night I don't
21. 3:16know there's this old dude on Tick Tock we hung out so so yeah so so lots of stuff and and you know what I've been doing these
22. 3:29lives now for I don't know three or four weeks pretty consistently I've been doing them every night and um
23. 3:37just just you know getting people to get past the fear or dismissiveness about AI without having tried it to just try it
24. 3:47and that's like why I have what Kyle why do you have your URLs behind your head well I have URLs behind my head because
25. 3:53if you haven't played with chat gbt like here's the deal I I deeply firmly believe that this generative AI stuff is going to is
26. 4:04going to be transformative in nearly every profession you know certainly all knowledge work all creative work but but
27. 4:11I think it's going to be pretty deep and and I think it's gonna it's going to um impact in both you know positive and
28. 4:19negative ways but it's going to impact people both personally and professionally um and so the more people that we can
29. 4:26get curious about it trying it playing with it the better because the the every little sort of positive nudge we can
30. 4:34give this thing in a positive correct direction is going to have a disproportionately positive effect moving forward so the URLs behind my
31. 4:42head here the top one there is that's chat's official website if you've never been just go there right now and start playing
32. 4:49just do it just you owe it to yourself to just go play if you haven't played if you're just listening to other people talk about it not good
33. 4:58um bing.com is uh is also chat GPT if you click on their chat button at bing.com that's gpt4 connected to the
34. 5:06internet and it's completely free and that also now has Dali image generation built in it so if you go to bing.com and
35. 5:13play with their chat you can make images you can play with gpt4 it's connected to the internet and it's free and then
36. 5:20poe.com is like those other two except it's got six different models you can play with and a bot generator and you
37. 5:27can play with other people's Bots and this there's just all all three of those are variations on the same thing and
38. 5:32then prompts.chat will teach you how to prompt and futurepedia.io is a directory of like 35 or 3 700 AI tools so if you
39. 5:43just want to geek out and see what the hell's going on with this AI stuff you can go there be be forewarned most of
40. 5:49the tools at futurepedia.io or crap because we're early in the business and people are just throwing [ __ ] together
41. 5:55with duct tape and spit and most of it's bad okay so welcome everybody uh if you have questions about AI pop them down below

43. 6:10you for the kind words I it's good to hear that these are worthwhile because you know sometimes you know I'm talking
44. 6:16to an iPhone in my home office so so it's hard to know uh if it's having an impact and if it is I'll keep doing it if it's not I'll stop
45. 6:27um some youngster was in here what do you just you're telling old people how to use chat GPT what's the possible
46. 6:33value in that I don't know old people seem to like it there's even some youngins in here that seem to appreciate it
47. 6:42that's my other request if you're gonna troll me please be creative with it don't just give me boring trolls at
48. 6:47least be creative the best ones are the ones that seem like a compliment but are they those are the good ones all right let's see
49. 6:57I'm glad you thought that was interesting what I've been doing um how much do you have to pay for it so
50. 7:02I just said that bing.com is free if you want to pay for chat GPT plus which I do because it gives me access to plugins
51. 7:09and it's going to give me access to code interpreter and it also gives me access to it connected to the internet
52. 7:16um it's 20 bucks a month Bing is free um poe.com if you want access to their three Advanced models is 20 bucks a
53. 7:24month also I pay for one and three and I'm not connected with them I'm not making any money so I don't give a [ __ ]
54. 7:30if you uh pay for them or not but that's that's what those prices are um truth is it's taking over so everyone
55. 7:36is just going to have to get on board it's just like it's it's like disrupt or be disrupted right disrupt your just
56. 7:44disrupt yourself is is the idea and and you know honestly like disruption's a funny word because yes
57. 7:52it's going to be disruptive but it has a negative connotation to it what I'm trying to inspire and and encourage people to do is get curious
58. 8:01about it because once you get past the hump of like kind of getting your head around the fact that this is a bigger
59. 8:07deal than it's this isn't just fancy Google right it seems like Google right it's it's just a simple input box and
60. 8:14you type [ __ ] in and it makes text right that's kind of what Google does right this is so much deeper than that and in
61. 8:21fact if you go to prompts.chat you'll see what that really is is just a big long list of personas that you can tell
62. 8:27chat GPT to act like an accountant or act like a screenwriter or act like a counselor or whatever it might be um
63. 8:35and and you start to get a sense of oh this thing can do a lot and it can it can do a lot and and um if you choose to do that and get
64. 8:45excited about it and start to re reinvent yourself before you're involuntarily reinvented or reassigned I
65. 8:55think I think there's going to be a lot of reassignments uh unvoluntary reassignments and you know here's the
66. 9:03good news if you're if you're reassigned voluntarily or unvoluntarily we all have access to these tools now and they're
67. 9:09really [ __ ] powerful so you're everyone's going to have a chance to do all sorts of amazing things so why not start now
68. 9:17and listen if you're not reassigned awesome now you now you're an AI literate person in a business where all
69. 9:23businesses are going to be incorporating this within what they do so it's a really good point J word um introduce chat CPT to another
70. 9:32business owner yesterday and spend an hour with him he's hooked that's awesome Troy I mean that's the thing it's one of
71. 9:39my one of my um I guess one of my my requests or my thoughts the thing that I think is actually quite valuable one is
72. 9:46get curious right just go there and start playing two is get adventurous start to figure out well wait like
73. 9:54you know it writes poems but but can it do what I do probably like get adventurous and figure that out figure out how to disrupt
74. 10:03yourself and then I think the third third layer beyond that is start sharing with other people what you're learning
75. 10:09and what it can do and sit down with someone for an hour right I'm spending two to three hours every night on this
76. 10:16channel alone that's independent of my newsletter my tick or my Twitter Channel what I'm doing at work um the the AI Salon that I do every
77. 10:26other week with our Discord server like I'm doing a lot in this and and that's not to brag but it's like it feels
78. 10:33important I wouldn't be doing if it if it didn't feel important that's kind of how I'm wired um let's see we got a bunch of people here
79. 10:42let me let me bring someone up here did that do anything yeah it didn't do anything oh whatever all right let me go
80. 10:52let me go see what's the best text to video generator right now there's a new one that just came out I forget the name
81. 10:59of it oh what the hell is it called but but Runway ml the the Gen Gen 2 right now is probably the best one um
82. 11:08there's a there's a new one that just came out like hang on um text to video carpathy
83. 11:27[Music] here it is there's one called zero scope V2 is so so zeroscope V2 is one of those ones
84. 11:43where you're gonna have to run it you know on Google collab runwayml um they have an app I think the app only does gen 1 right now
85. 11:52gen 1 is video to video Gen 2 is text to video um I don't think they've migrated that to their app yet so you have to you have
86. 12:00to do your video generation in their Discord server so just like mid-journey you have to learn Discord and then you
87. 12:07get to learn mid-journey and Runway ml yay why are they using Discord why do we have to make images with command blind
88. 12:15instructions because we're early if you want the most powerful technology put in the hands of mankind you're gonna
89. 12:24have to do some [ __ ] like learn Discord it'll get better I promise but right now it's it's a bit of a [ __ ] show oh
90. 12:35hooked Cody is hooked awesome I learned something new every day I know I've been it's just I like it's it's multiple
91. 12:44times a day I'm just like real it does that oh I haven't even thought about doing that oh oh you know what I could
92. 12:50do oh oh oh every day every day is just a series of oh really oh my I had no idea could do that rather
93. 13:03yeah it's a lot of that [ __ ] going on um those of us knew more about AI sooner can lead the way exactly that's very very true
94. 13:11and and really positive is it what does this one say is AI gay AI can be whatever you want it to be you
95. 13:19you can you can assign whatever pronoun to AI you want oh my God let's put politics in every single possible thing let's not not on this
96. 13:33channel I don't give two shits about it I just want us not to be [ __ ] to each other so if you're going to troll
97. 13:38me be creative and if you're gonna be an [ __ ] hit the road because we can have fun here we can transform the world and have fun
98. 13:47and bend this toward the good that's why we're here that's why I'm here all right I got lost in my questions I was
99. 13:54following so I'm trying to find where I was best video generator I learned something new every day we said those
100. 14:01what's the add-on for AI images well so um so in bing it's just in there so let me let me show you Ben because I haven't
101. 14:11I haven't actually showed this much here thank you very much for the kind Hearts the kind words um let's go to bing.com
102. 14:22all right so here we are at bing.com the the normal search engine right here you got this little chat button
103. 14:30and and actually the search button does GPT stuff as well but if you want to go into full-on cat gbt you have three different modes
104. 14:40here you've got more creative which is like gpt4 you know sort of writing mode you've got more balanced and then you've
105. 14:46got more precise so if you're doing research for example you want it on more precise if you're doing creative writing
106. 14:52you want creative writing I think it defaults to more balanced um but but within here you know you can
107. 14:58do anything you can do in chat GPT like right you know write me a song Let's see a um uh a hit country song
108. 15:13oh dang it I can't type song what are we gonna do it about about um my chubby dog
109. 15:30all right and so off it goes verse one it's called my chubby dog let's see he's got a big belly and a
110. 15:40wagon tail he loves to eat and he never fails he makes me smile and I'm feeling low he's a chubby dog and I love him so
111. 15:46not exactly uh Grammy award-winning lyrics there but you know it's fine it understands verse courses things like that but now I can also say
112. 15:55um make me and me an image of my black and white chubby dog who's a mutt that has
113. 16:14beagle and uh bull dog in him we'll see what this does this should just go off and generate some images
114. 16:29sure I'll try to create that so now it is your image is generating it's actually pretty fast this image generation unbeing
115. 16:46actually that's not too far off from my my old pupper that one there's pretty close chimpy chimpy this doggy on screen looks like you
116. 16:58that was pretty close he's got more of a white face but yeah but he's fat like that he's got a fat neck like that
117. 17:04he's sitting right beside me um so that's that and then and then there's there's other there's other tools like there's a tool called
118. 17:13leonardo.ai that you have to get on the wait list for but I would I would strongly encourage you to get on the wait list
119. 17:20for this leonardo.ai um it's this is a web front end to stable diffusion and it's got all these different styles that you can choose
120. 17:30from and like these are all images that people have created and if you find an image you like like here's a cool bird
121. 17:36you can click on that bird and and you can see what prompt that they used and what negative prompt that they used and depending on
122. 17:49how they did their thing you can generate I think you can edit any of these generate with this model right so
123. 17:57you can copy their prompt and you go generate with that model um you can also train your own um train on your own images like I'm a
124. 18:07photographer so I uploaded a bunch of my um Cloud photography images and let's see train model no I don't want to train model
125. 18:19oh fine-tuned models I'm gonna go use that model so I'm gonna go use this I'm gonna generate with this model
126. 18:28so there's some things I did so so let's say dramatic Sunset over Manhattan from Brooklyn let's say dramatic Sunset over the brook
127. 18:39Lynn Bridge um from the roadway and so now that'll go off and it'll
128. 18:55generate images and but it'll use my cloud photography for the sky more than likely which is you know what some of
129. 19:02these ones down below here did what else have I done there's some muscle cars so so this is Leonardo so this is another
130. 19:10way to do images I'll come back to that and then there's um in Discord in in Discord there's a thing called mid-journey which in my
131. 19:17opinion is the very best of the um of the tools and you have to generate things within um within Discord so if you don't know
132. 19:28Discord these are all the different servers here's your different conversations within a server it's kind of like Slack
133. 19:34and then mid-journey's got their own but you can also put mid-journey inside other servers so this is my AI salon and
134. 19:40this is our mid-journey Channel and the way you make it an image here is you type slash imagine and then you type in a prompt and so
135. 19:49we'll just go copy someone else's prompt here those cats are pretty cute so we'll just go grab one of those and copy
136. 19:58and then we'll pop it in here it says in the style of Van Gogh starry starry night so we're going to say in the style of Annie Lebo wits
137. 20:13leave oh wits I don't think that's spelled right but that's okay and we're going to say photograph [Applause] of a white cat okay
138. 20:25so now that's going to make us some images so let's go back over to Leonardo and there's our Brooklyn Bridge that
139. 20:32one's actually really good these other ones don't look like the Brooklyn Bridge at all like this this one this one looks
140. 20:38like some concoction that's like London Bridge Brooklyn Bridge some strange Masonic temple but this one's actually pretty close
141. 20:50not quite there but you know not bad and there's my sky right so it pulled in it pulled in some some you know edits
142. 20:59and things that very much look like my photography so that's pretty cool that one's pretty trippy um so anyway I don't know if that

150. 22:10I have a disease that will destroy my memory and recall in 10 years training the llm to recall for me that's a huge use case I think
151. 22:20the idea I just saw I just saw a thing yesterday that that someone just launched a um like a website that that's its purpose
152. 22:29is that you can train it up to be other people so you can do it for memorials but that particular use case I lost my
153. 22:37dad to Alzheimer's so so I resonate with that and and um a good friend of mine Richard Boyd before all the chat GPT but before GPT 3
154. 22:47came out he created a virtual version of his father when his father passed him his father had all this handwritten stuff and he he had all
155. 22:56that um handwritten stuff transcribed and he built a model about his father um I think I think that's something that
156. 23:04we're going to see more and more and more of in the coming in the coming years not like short years like in the
157. 23:09next one to three years because you can already do a lot of it today um and you know it's going to be
158. 23:16interesting because companies like Apple and Google and Facebook and Twitter that have you know access to our social media
159. 23:26histories are going to be able to very very quickly build up personalized models of us with our permission of course because
160. 23:34they wouldn't steal our data and exploit it would they uh but it's great use case and I think it's going to be quite powerful oh
161. 23:43there's the the Annie Leibowitz cat's coming it's pretty good I'll show it to you in a second nice choice choice and shirts this
162. 23:51evening uh Emilio's wife knows that I I wear shirts that are very nice but they always have like little white things on
163. 23:57them so you can't ever see the text so I have been consciously wearing dark t-shirts so you can see the text over them
164. 24:05um it's actually going exceptionally well oh that's great is that the uh that's oh that's the creating of the
165. 24:11model of yourself that's awesome man that's incredible that's really cool um are a in our our plugins for
166. 24:19chat GPT free they're not right now so you have to pay for chat GPT plus to get access to them because they're in beta
167. 24:27but Microsoft has announced they're supporting openai's plug-in architecture so what that means is when they when
168. 24:34they move out of beta Microsoft will incorporate them into Bing so again why I have Bing here is this is chat gpt4
169. 24:42for free connected to the internet and it will have all the stuff that chat GPT has that they decide to incorporate um
170. 24:53but paying the 20 bucks to open AI gives it to you sooner right you you basically get earlier access to to stuff if you're
171. 25:02an open AI subscriber um so and and and the plugins like are the plugins right now worth paying for um
172. 25:15they're very janky there's a lot of them a lot of them are just horrible pieces of [ __ ] that are not worth your time
173. 25:23um there's not really a ranking system right now so it's not it's not the app store yet right so I don't if you're old
174. 25:30enough to remember when the iPhone first came out there wasn't an app store and the apps weren't called apps they were
175. 25:36called widgets and they weren't actually applications they were hyperlinks to websites um and so you you know developers
176. 25:44basically had to make websites and call them widgets and create an icon for them that's kind of the state of plugins
177. 25:49right now like people are just playing with them they're trying to figure it out there's some really interesting ones
178. 25:54but but you know they're they're this many um and there's there's about 600 of them now to dig through but they're
179. 26:02interesting and it it points to a future where where we're going to have an interface where you can just kind of ask
180. 26:07this thing what to do and it will go figure it out it'll figure out do I need to go to a website do I need to write an
181. 26:14API do I need to write an application so so that's the kind of future we're headed towards so if you want glimpses
182. 26:21into that early then it's worth paying for that if you're like [ __ ] it I'll I'll play with this stuff when it's
183. 26:27ready for prime time then I just go to Bing [Laughter] this isn't just fancy Google Kyle Shannon yeah you can quote me on that
184. 26:38this is not just fancy Google it's way more profound very profound I don't think you have any idea however founded it
185. 26:52all right A lot of people have an idea how profound it is that's here's a here's a piece of uh piece of interest in trivia the the
186. 27:01speed with which that piece of software got to a hundred million users six weeks it's the fastest adoption of technology in history
187. 27:11um if you're curious is anyone actually using this yes they are I am a complete noob in programming how can I run auto
188. 27:20GP oh author GPT GPT Okay so huh [Laughter] there's there's not an easy way to so so basically what you need to do so here's
189. 27:34here's the way you do it so right now GPT author is um is a project that's it's a bunch of Python scripts that are put together in
190. 27:45a Google collab notebook Google collab is basically um you you use these things called notebooks which are just basically
191. 27:53step-by-step chunks of code that you run on a virtual machine so you've got to run it on a Google collab virtual machine so the first
192. 28:02thing I do is I go to YouTube and watch videos on you know Google collab for beginners just understand what it is what Google collab
193. 28:11is and what notebooks are basically what they are is you can run code and see the code you're running but you don't have
194. 28:18to write it there's there's people there's Engineers out there writing all sorts of cool software in these
195. 28:24notebooks once you understand how the basic notebook model works then you can play with different projects
196. 28:31um I'll go show it to you right now but the the kind of uh prerequisite it's like we're running a university here
197. 28:37here your prerequisites for this course are just understand basically what collab is it's a virtual machine that
198. 28:44you're running on Google servers and you're running these code chunks that are in a thing called a notebook
199. 28:52essentially by pushing the play button a bunch of times um but they're janky and and they break and you kind of have to troubleshoot and
200. 29:00like so for example when I was first trying to get my head around this I was trying to install stable diffusion
201. 29:06because I wanted to do this project that image behind all those URLs that's from a project I did called Kyle Shannon
202. 29:12dreams I failed nine times getting it running using Google collab so it ain't easy but let me let me go show
203. 29:23it to you here because it's worth it's worth just at least doing what I can to get you up to speed on it oh there's the kitty cats
204. 29:33that's the the photograph of a white and orange cat sitting in a rocking chair it's it actually gave us a white cat in
205. 29:40an orange rocking chair which is kind of interesting but like some of these are pretty good I mean mint journey is just amazing I mean this
206. 29:50one in the upper right actually the lighting in this one in the lower right oh this is a cat wearing like a silk
207. 29:56silk pajamas in a wicker chair that's freaking awesome that's actually very Annie Leibowitz too like that really captured like like if
208. 30:09Annie Leibowitz was doing uh celebrity cats I think this is what it would be oh my God that's awesome all right
209. 30:18ah let's see okay so here's GPT author so okay let me um let me make this a little bigger so hopefully you can see it um
210. 30:33and let me close that so this is kind of what it'll look like when you come in so when you first run it it'll it'll say
211. 30:42like GPT author version 1.1 and um it'll kind of describe what it is here's the GitHub repo so github.com M
212. 30:53Schumer slash GPT Dash author if you go there it'll it'll sort of create your own copy of this and or it won't it won't create
213. 31:03your own copy it will launch that notebook in your version of Google collab and then when you launch it there's a
214. 31:16thing that'll show up up here where you can say copy it to Google Drive so you also have to have Google Drive running
215. 31:22so I've already copied mine to Google Drive which is why that says copy of GPT author to Google Drive okay so then what
216. 31:30these notebooks are is there's there's these cells and and each cell is numbered and at the beginning of the cell is a little play
217. 31:38button and and basically when you hit the play button it's running the text that's in the cell like for example
218. 31:44you've got to put in oh I'm showing people my my uh my open AI keys I'm gonna have to go change those uh anyway
219. 31:51whatever hackers hackers are gonna take my keys but anyway you you're gonna put your keys in there so it's going to run
220. 31:57this code it's going to run your keys and then um so I'll hit run here and so it spins and so like this is the first chunk of code
221. 32:07to whatever this does uh install the libraries and you know put my keys in there and then the next one using Google
222. 32:19Translate for translation so you run that and now it's doing that and so so basically you just run each of these and
223. 32:26when you get a little green check mark that means that you're good to go and if it gives you an error then you've got an error and then um
224. 32:38this is this is where I'm actually writing what the book is about what the writing style is and I just keep going
225. 32:46down down hitting the play button hitting the play button and then the very last one you hit it will actually start stepping
226. 32:55through and show you that it's writing the book and then it actually delivers the book in one of your Google folders and so in this case
227. 33:06it wrote a book called um what's it called breaking the mold it's a it's about an average guy um in a world where everything is below
228. 33:19average and so because he's average he's he's like superhuman and so it wrote me you know a 14 chapter book
229. 33:28um using Fight Club as the uh as the sort of satire model so anyway that's it and it generated that image that that cover image so
230. 33:40there you go so I don't know if that helps or not that help is that good if that's good let me know if it's not I'm happy to answer other

238. 34:59feels female well you can create so yes I mean you can I like like I don't quite know what that would look like
239. 35:07if you know if you're talking sort of cliches you could say I you know I want you to to identify as a male but be
240. 35:14super empathetic or whatever like however you characterize what that would act like you could actually create a bot so if you go to poe.com
241. 35:23one of the things you can do there is you can create a bot and when you create a bot you're actually prompting it to
242. 35:30act a certain way in fact let me I'll I'll go show you some that I've created and then you can go do that
243. 35:37like like creating bots is actually a really good um way to um practice prompting so where I am right now is I'm I'm at poe.com

306. 44:57the the other ones you know mid journey is the best stable diffusion is the most flexible but it requires you to be geeky big uh
307. 45:06um uh Dolly which is open ai's image generation tool is not as good as the other two but that's that's the thing
308. 45:14that's rolled into Bing so so there's a bunch of different options out there there's some free ones out there

338. 49:21you write new stuff like it so it's like a simplification layer that we're going to be able to stick on top of all these
339. 49:28over complicated bureaucracies and say okay here's all the rules that this bureaucracy says we have to follow
340. 49:35here's the [ __ ] I'm in the middle of right now help me get out of this and it'll help us get out of this if you
341. 49:41haven't if you haven't seen it yet go check out um there's a site called do not pay um which is it's it it's called your the
342. 49:49the world's first AI lawyer or something like that it's got some stupid uh marketing uh but it's been around for
343. 49:55six years or so but it does like it'll fight traffic tickets for you and parking tickets and things like that so
344. 50:00it's doing like you know small claims lost stuff started by a 19 year old by the way not a lawyer there's gonna be a lot of disruptive
345. 50:10things created with this technology um by non-specialists in that field because they don't know any better right
346. 50:18so they'll just create something completely disruptive all right I use chat GPT as my personal estate and probate lawyer super cool

350. 50:57pointing people here there's there's exciting stuff going on like autonomous agents and this thing called Lang chain
351. 51:03and these things that write novels but they're all sort of on the geeky side of the house you have to be more of an
352. 51:10engineer than just a user of Technology um and like I'm I know just enough about technology to get that Google collab
353. 51:20going for stable diffusion that I did this with but it took me nine tries and that wasn't like nine tries in one night
354. 51:27that was like over two months where I'd spend like an hour or two I think I'd get it running and then it would just
355. 51:32fail and I couldn't figure it out and I'd be like [ __ ] it I did that nine different times and then I finally got it working I was like yes
356. 51:40it felt very accomplished but that's that's just the the nature of where we are in the in the evolution of this
357. 51:47technology right now chat GPT marks the inflection point where normal people can use this [ __ ] too but we're only six months into that
358. 51:57right there's like 20 or 30 years of Engineers doing machine learning stuff and then there's all the engineers that
359. 52:06have sort of piled on since chat GPT that are doing all sorts of cool [ __ ] like revolutionary [ __ ]
360. 52:12but it ain't easy to use right so if if you tend more to the geeky side you can go play with some of that stuff if

387. 56:38be a solid color or it to be living in a thing and it just goes on and on and on and explains you know about uh prompting
388. 56:47and then it also talks about things like modifiers like these tools understand all sorts of things about photography
389. 56:55they understand you know terms like tilt shift and long exposure Color Splash monochrome satellite um and then it goes on and talks about
390. 57:07art mediums right do you want it to be graffiti or watercolors or oil paintings and this thing just goes on and on and on and and
391. 57:15what what this document did for me is it made it really clear just how much these models understand and that
392. 57:27and that if you if you want it to look a certain way if you can provide a reference for it it'll probably help the other thing you
393. 57:36can do on Leonardo is you can you can upload an image that will be the um kind of the starter image to do

467. 1:09:42I am Shakespeare and I've already written that prompt for you so now you can just interact with it and it will it
468. 1:09:48will answer you in iambic pentameter even if you're talking about you know business advice it'll give you business
469. 1:09:54advice as if Shakespeare wrote it and why wouldn't you want that so that's how you use Bots and and also just the the other the
470. 1:10:03other reason to use Bots is just to go explore them and and explore what this thing makes possible like how
471. 1:10:12is that thing not like Google in like an infinite number of ways so if you go play with 10 000 Bots there's ten
472. 1:10:19thousand different variations of prompts that people put in there that may inspire you to go oh [ __ ] I never thought about it like that
473. 1:10:29and that's the stage we're at and I I mean quite honestly here's the real reason to use Bots anything that you can

523. 1:17:26commercial environment meaning if you work for a big company I would say don't use mid-journey or stable diffusion because they've been
524. 1:17:34trained on copywritten work and there's there's already lawsuits happening and there's going to continue to be lawsuits

545. 1:20:09like if you write an outline of a novel then you have it right chapter one and then you modify chapter one and do two
546. 1:20:18or three versions of it and then you go to write chapter two if you've got a short context window it'll kind of
547. 1:20:23forget your outline so that can get really frustrating so I'd go to I I'd use the 100 000 token version of Claude you do need
548. 1:20:32a post subscription for that so it's like 20 bucks um but I'd play with that there um there are probably if you go to Future
549. 1:20:43pedia there are probably sort of pre-written prompt kind of tools out there that are that are designed for long-form fiction
550. 1:20:52or novel writing at futurepedia.io but but they are likely just kind of rappers sitting on top of gpt4 so
551. 1:21:06like like I wouldn't necessarily pay someone a monthly fee for a tool where they've just kind of written [ __ ] on top of chat
552. 1:21:15GPT that like a lot of the stuff that's here is that kind of [ __ ] there might be tools out there that do
553. 1:21:22long-form stuff really well and they're and if like I would say if if they've been in if they've been launched in the
554. 1:21:30past year I'd look at them very suspiciously if they've been launched in the past six years and they really
555. 1:21:37specialize in the kind of writing you want to do there might be something there so it's worth it's worth at least looking there

557. 1:21:49other thing about uh any sort of long-term writing don't feel like you need to write the single Mega prompt
558. 1:21:56that does everything break it into much smaller sections think of working with Chach EBT more like having a
559. 1:22:03collaborative conversation with a writing assistant let's say you've got a really good intern who just knows [ __ ] everything that's
560. 1:22:10what chat EBT is like so like a good intern they need a lot of coaching so I want you to act like a writing assistant
561. 1:22:17and I want you to be really good at grammar and I want you to um have deep knowledge of this particular
562. 1:22:26um part of History because that's what my book is set in and just go back and forth with it do you understand yes I
563. 1:22:32understand and here's some thoughts and I want you to be good at helping me um refine my outline can you help me
564. 1:22:40with that sure I can help you with that and here's three different you know storytelling Frameworks we could
565. 1:22:45consider all that back and forth makes it better and better and better as you work through um your thing but just remember with
566. 1:22:53chat CPT because it's only got a 4 000 token context window it may forget earlier parts of the conversation so you
567. 1:23:01may have to go back in the conversation copy little pieces and paste them back down lower to remind it the [ __ ] that it forgot

657. 1:37:31so the one that's connected to the internet solves that because if it can't find anything in its core model it will
658. 1:37:37go search the internet and then add that to the answer basically and then you've got plugins now if you've paid for chat GPT and you have
659. 1:37:45your little yellow tag here but you can't see that stuff that's because you have to enable it manually and how you
660. 1:37:50do that you go to your settings and then in your settings there's this thing called beta features and you go
661. 1:37:57there and you turn them on so browse with Bing you turn it on plugins you turn it on so that's how you get access
662. 1:38:03to them now what are plugins think of plugins as like little tunnels out to the internet that do specific things so
663. 1:38:16when you when you choose uh gpt4 plugins you get this additional little menu and in the menu you have you've got whatever
664. 1:38:26plugins you've got installed but just because you have plugins installed doesn't mean they're actually
665. 1:38:32activated so in any given chat session so when I log into chatgpt and I'm going to do something if I want to
666. 1:38:40have GPT help me with a meal plan I need to actually turn on the plugins that are related to that or if I want to
667. 1:38:49do travel I would do that or if I want to have it read a website for me I would have it do that so you install plugins and then in any
668. 1:38:57any given session you can activate you can enable up to three of them so let me I'm going to do one here that is um
669. 1:39:07just kind of a fun one called prompt perfect so we've got one plug-in here called prompt perfect and if I go look at what
670. 1:39:14it says it says type the word perfect before you know before your prompt and it'll craft the perfect prompt every
671. 1:39:21time so now I can come down here if I type in the word perfect and then I type in a shitty prompt um right right right
672. 1:39:30me a Mia me a short story that's a horrible prompt because it's way too generic and it'll give me crappy output if fires off prompt
673. 1:39:43perfect because I put that as the first word and then let's see what it did so it changed write me a short story too
