4. 0:57Friday night what are you doing a Friday Friday night you sit around talking about generative AI on Tik Tok as a 58-year-old why why
5. 1:09not uh this is the AI learning lab uh I'm an entrepreneur I'm the co-founder and CEO of a company called storyvine
6. 1:15which is an automated video storytelling platform um happy to chat about that I was also there for the early days of the
7. 1:24worldwide web I co-founded a company called agency.com in the mid90s so um had a had a big Epiphany about that
8. 1:31worldwide web thing and I thought huh this is going to change the way we communicate and started an agency and
9. 1:36sure enough it's changed the way we communicate and I didn't think I'd see another technological shift like that in
10. 1:42my life and then Along Came generative Ai and in particular chat GPT which change change changes the game in my
11. 1:49opinion that this is profound on a level that is bigger than anything I've ever seen right this to me feels like steam
12. 1:57engine significant or printing press significant um the worldwide web was a pretty big deal but this generative AI
13. 2:05stuff is uh is is uh is big big deal so anyway uh that's who I am I'm happy to answer any questions if you have questions
14. 2:14about uh AI General [ __ ] pop it down below uh if you're going to troll me at least be creative uh I've got I've got
15. 2:23some good creative trolls in here so the bars set high so if you give me stupid [ __ ] it'll just glance off my Giant fat

17. 2:42I know it's the the the green screen's doing some weird [ __ ] with my hair but yeah my uh my head is is looking pretty
18. 2:48massive here today so um can you create a real AI trading bot a self-learning one is it possible well it's definitely
19. 2:57possible do do I know how to do it no but what I would say is you could probably hack something together with chat GPT go to your
20. 3:07trading platform grab some bot code right of bots that you use pop it into chat GPT and say Hey you know analyze this this trading bot and
21. 3:19it will tell you what it does and then ask it if it can help you create a learning version of itself like maybe you could take
22. 3:28data like day trading data dayto day and have it create a I I don't know it might be able to help you do that I
23. 3:36don't know how to do it I don't know [ __ ] about trading and and trading Bots and things like that but I that that
24. 3:41feels to me like something you could crack just with chat GPT um what are my thoughts on web 3 um I think web 3 is in a wound licking
25. 3:51State because of all the fraud and money loss and I think that's appropriate I think there was a lot there was a lot of
26. 3:59hype and what was interesting was I spent I spent about a year digging really deep into blockchain and nfts and
27. 4:06um I got involved with a project called neotokyo which I actually still believe in I'm still a member of it it's a big
28. 4:11web 3 gaming Community um and I like that Community but there there was a lot was and is a lot of [ __ ] in the nft space and in the
29. 4:24crypto space and that does need to be weeded out now that said I think the generative AI is actually going to drive
30. 4:31adoption of web 3 and and and probably even like new uses for nfts because I think we're moving into a state very
31. 4:39very quickly here as we move into the 2024 presidential election in the US um we're going to see just tons of
32. 4:48misinformation and deep fakes and just all sorts of [ __ ] and so I think it's going to create a demand for
33. 4:55authenticity and verification and was this a real human is this a real news story is this a real is this really what
34. 5:01that person said and I think that's a place where tokenization like blockchain and nfts could come in handy um so I I
35. 5:09could see there being um a a real nice you know complimentary relationship between web 3 and generative AI I I
36. 5:17think it's going to be needed whether or not it's actually blockchain or some other tokenization technology I think that's less
37. 5:24significant um but it could be good also if you look at if you haven't heard of it look up Sam alman's uh
38. 5:31worldcoin which is a a cryptocurrency he's creating That's essential sole purpose is to verify humans they send you a
39. 5:40little orb and you put it on your eye it scans your iris and verifies that you're human and then it gives you some
40. 5:46cryptocurrency um whether or not his project succeeds at doing that or some other one does I think you know imagine
41. 5:53having a Twitter where you know that every person on there is actually verified as a human and there's a person
42. 5:58behind each one of them those um that's a possibility right and so uh yeah so so my thoughts on web 3 are I'm not paying
43. 6:07too much attention right to it right now CU it's just on fire it's just a [ __ ] show uh and deservedly so and then but
44. 6:15it's a very interesting technology I feel like it's teetering on discovery of fire significance to be honest I I know
45. 6:21I'm right there with you Jesse I it's like for for me like I kind of go um fire written l language printing press
46. 6:32um Industrial Revolution steam engine Industrial Revolution and then this like it feels that big to me I know computers
47. 6:39are in there and the internet's in there and the worldwide web's in there and the iPhone's in there and social media is in
48. 6:43there those all feel like minor blips those all feel to me like natural extensions of the Industrial Revolution right you have the
49. 6:55the steam engine and then you do all of those media advances photography graphy and film and radio and television and
50. 7:02right so all that stuff sort of rolls through and and the computer is kind of like this this next logical leap up from
51. 7:09radio and television right and and then it just evolves and then it gets a network that's the internet and then it
52. 7:13gets the web which is point and click and then the iPhone puts it in our pocket and social media connects us all
53. 7:20in different ways this generative AI stuff feels more like the steam engine feels like a big [ __ ] deal and it's
54. 7:26and and you know it's here's why it feels different to me if if you think about just at a base level how you think
55. 7:36about Computing and data and and writing programs historically if I want to say take this data set and then process it
56. 7:45in some way and then have it generate an output right that's what all computer programs are I've got to think really
57. 7:51hard about okay well what's the data coming in and is it dirty data is it all consistent or is it inconsistent is it
58. 7:58unstructured data or is it structured data and then I have to write logic to to clean the data up and put the data in
59. 8:05some sort of form I can use and then I need to write logic to process the data and I got to think about how might
60. 8:10people use this data well one way they could use it is a and another way they could use it is B and so I'm going to
61. 8:15write those two Frameworks and da da and everything is this conscious logical construct that we've got to kind
62. 8:24of plug these Lego blocks together to get whatever the intended outcome is the generative AI stuff is much more like
63. 8:32here's a blob of data here's here's all of the internet right here's all of the public internet go ahead interact with
64. 8:39it as if you've got that knowledge out it comes um when you think about you know doing data analysis if you look at
65. 8:46if you haven't seen the videos on um code interpreter uh that's coming for chat gbd go look at that it's absolutely
66. 8:54insane it's a full-on data analyst with a click of a button um so so yeah so it's a big deal I'm right there with you
67. 9:01Jesse I I I don't like to be that optimistic about [ __ ] and and listen I know all this generative AI stuff has a
68. 9:10lot of dark sides a lot of dark possibilities there's a lot of safety issues we got to deal with that [ __ ] but
69. 9:16assuming we do that the potential positive impact here is staggering like staggering all right um looks like we
70. 9:26got a few people here do me a favor tap the screen a bunch so we can just let people know we're here we had a we had a
71. 9:31few people here for a while and and uh and they took off um if you've got questions about generative AI pop them
72. 9:40below the other thing uh these URLs behind my head let me get my fat head out of the way here so here's why these
73. 9:46are here the top one there is um chat GPT that's the official chat GPT website if you've not used chat GPT go there
74. 9:54right now make an account and start playing I'm not affiliated with it in any way but just you really owe it to
75. 10:01yourself to start playing with chat GPT start playing with these tools bing.com that's Microsoft search engine if you
76. 10:07click the chat button there that's also chat GPT and it's gp4 and it's free and it's connected to the internet so it's
77. 10:15cool it's not as good in my opinion as that one but it's still gp4 for free then po.com gives you access to GPT 4
78. 10:24three Claude all the Claude models and their own model so you can do do some interesting stuff there they also have a
79. 10:30bunch of bots you can play with you can make your own so all three of these are some you know variation on the flavor of
80. 10:39playing with large language models so go do that if you haven't done any of this before go to prompt. chat that's a a
81. 10:46document that will teach you how to prompt and give you a bunch of examples to get you started it's super cool document and then futur

83. 11:09improved your idea thank you how do you define web 3 for me it's unclear what it is well it's it's you it's all the the
84. 11:18the blockchain you know decentralized Defi and D this and D that and you know not your keys not your crypto right which
85. 11:29which uh I had some crypto on Voyager and they went [ __ ] bankrupt or whatever the hell they're in the middle
86. 11:38of right now and I didn't pull my crypto off of that centralized exchange and I learned my lesson about that [ __ ] but just crypto in
87. 11:48general so anyway so it's you know it's it's ostensively that the decentralized stuff the trustless verification
88. 12:00um which I think's really powerful and it's going to be necessary it's just how it was implemented how it was marketed
89. 12:06and the shitty shitty shitty projects that um were really just designed to scam people's money gave them two black
90. 12:13eyes a bloody nose and a chip tooth and you know now they're getting their chin stitched up and they're trying to figure out is anybody ever
91. 12:21going to buy Bitcoin again bitcoin's really good people like it do you want some Bitcoin I got some Bitcoin in my back pocket you want
92. 12:32some I got an nft it's of a monkey you want it just $50,000 all right that's web 3 um for trading uh for
93. 12:49wait trading they can look into linear regression and nonlinear regression and neural networks yes digital Gods that's
94. 12:55exactly what I meant to say the old linear regression and nonlinear regression and neural networks yes yes
95. 13:03they can do that they should go do that I if I were them I'd be on the linear regression train right now I don't know
96. 13:12[ __ ] about trading so but yes go do that uh stock trading help is likely coming with code interpreter yeah that thing is
97. 13:20mind-blowing I know I don't have access to code interpreter yet code interpreter is [ __ ] insane it's insane the the
98. 13:27one demo that I saw cuz cuz like having it do pie charts and graphs and stuff like that I'm like okay like you know
99. 13:33Excel can do that so so you're sort of like well okay it's it's some version of what I've seen before but this one dude
100. 13:39he pulled up um um an Excel sheet with all of the location the the GPS data for all the lighthouses in in the United
101. 13:49States and he said make me a dark map of the United States and plot the location of all the lighthouses and make them
102. 13:56light yellow dots and have them Flash and it wrote The Python code made a map of the United States with all the
103. 14:02locations of the lighthouses on it I'm just like holy [ __ ] like I don't think we have a clue what that thing does and
104. 14:09how it does it and what it's going to be so code interpreter is Bonkers so yeah I would agree I think that uh you're going
105. 14:16to be able to do some absolutely insane stuff with with trading with that maybe I'll even have chat GPT teach me about
106. 14:23trading and I won't be such a clueless ninny when it comes to money and numbers ah that acting degree comes in handy on
107. 14:31a Tik Tock but when you go to the trading sites it's a little [Laughter] scary and you're asking but Kyle aren't
108. 14:40you a CEO of a company I am but I have a co-founder who's really good with that [ __ ] cuz I know that I'm not so I asked
109. 14:48her to be a part of my company cuz she's good can chat GPT teach you how to play poker oh absolutely tell it to act like
110. 14:55a master poker Champion a a seven bracelet poker champion and tell it what level you're at um tell it where you get
111. 15:07stuck in poker like what what you don't quite understand have it explain it to you if you don't like how it explains it
112. 15:13to you tell it to explain it to you like you're a 5-year-old or to use metaphors or you know like like um you know teach
113. 15:22me how to play poker and use snicker bars as the as the the whatever the metaphor and it'll it'll it's it's
114. 15:28amazing so it can absolutely uh do that tokenization should you have different tokens for different projects or the
115. 15:35same token for several I I don't know I don't know enough the the thing I know about tokenization is that if Sam Alman pulls off well some
116. 15:46someone's going to pull this off whoever pulls off the checkbox verified human right like paying Twitter $8 does not
117. 15:54verify that you're human scanning your iris with Sam alman's little orb that says yeah that's a human eyeball check
118. 16:01Kyle Shannon is human I would see that as being sort of the first token right that says the person that typed this
119. 16:09message is human and then you could also have a whole token system for the messages you could have a twitter- like
120. 16:15system that says yeah a real person wrote the message and then there could be another token that says yeah this is
121. 16:21the message that was written by this guy and it hasn't changed right and then you can do the same with all the responses
122. 16:27so I I would think that you're going to see a fabric of token protocols and technologies that are all doing
123. 16:36different things one might be for identity one might be for Content verification one might be for you know
124. 16:42guaranteed not modified or Modified by some other person right so I don't think it's going to be a single system um you hit the point in
125. 16:53the head we need the data we need the data give us the data it's all about the data in fact if you hear Sam Alman talk about chat GPT and
126. 17:04why it's so good he said when they got their heads around the the Transformer technology that that Google invented and he
127. 17:12realized that the more compute power and the more quality data that you dump into this thing the better it gets they spent
128. 17:20a lot of years like digging into all the corners of the internet finding data sources getting them in forms that they
129. 17:27could ingest them and embed them and tokenize them um so yeah so it's all about the data and apparently that's why
130. 17:34gp4 is better than all the others and it really is like I mean against Bard Bard is laughably bad compared to chat to GPT
131. 17:424 um claw the the anthropic models are pretty good um but they're not gp4 like it's better and and listen at some point
132. 17:52someone will have someone something better than them and if they've got their [ __ ] together then GPT 5 will you
133. 17:57know stay on the on the top of the mountain but that's why it's good all right emergent properties like generative AI are not
134. 18:06magic wait it is being oh demonized to scare you no it's not magic but it is magical right it is it is it's a prediction
135. 18:20engine but what's the isn't it Arthur C Clark that says any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable
136. 18:26from Magic that's where we are with chat GPT right now it's just a prediction engine you know word by- word prediction
137. 18:32it's it's a fill-in-the blanks engine um or completion engine um but it's sophisticated enough and and it's its
138. 18:40knowledge Bas is Broad enough that it it like there's just never been anything put in the hands of mere mortals uh
139. 18:49that's been like that um but it it's totally being demonized I agree with you on that point I you know I think that
140. 18:55you know for me the demon like I feel like we have a default mode with AI thanks to Hollywood for the past 50
141. 19:02years that the robots are going to kill us right you know 2001 Space Odyssey you know Terminator all all that sort of
142. 19:09stuff the robots are coming the AI is going to kill us so I think I think what do we have two or three generations in
143. 19:15that probably two and a half generations of just being AI is the bad thing AI is the bad thing AI is the bad thing and
144. 19:22then all of a sudden it's like here's AI oh and by the way it is going to take your jobs and it really is [ __ ]
145. 19:28powerful and it is mindblowing and holy [ __ ] are all those science fiction movies right so I think I think people
146. 19:35have this predisposition to the robots are going to kill us um why this channel exists is to talk to people about just
147. 19:43go play just go play experience it for yourself because once you start to understand that this is a tool that gets
148. 19:52to augment us it makes us like better and it gives us superpowers then it gets a lot less scary and it gets a lot more
149. 20:00exciting chat GPT plus what would I get with a subscription that I don't get with the free version let me show you let's go let's go to the
150. 20:17videotape okay so when you come to chat GPT if you're paying for um GPT plus chat GPT plus you get that little yellow flag so that
151. 20:28little icon cost $20 a month um just to just to um Orient you here so if you've never been to chat GPT
152. 20:36this is your chat history basically or your prompt history um and it it remembers all the stuff you have there's
153. 20:44there's danger in using that but but I can talk about that then you've got uh GPT 3.5 which is the one you get for
154. 20:52free they also call it GPT turbo if you're not paying for it and um I still use GPT 3.5 a lot cuz it's super fast so
155. 21:02um it's still good now if you pay for GPT 4 you get access to regular gp4 which is [ __ ] brilliant but slow you
156. 21:12get browse with Bing which is um gp4 connected to the internet and then you get plugins as they add other features GPT
157. 21:22Plus members are going to get the other features the next one I'm waiting for the one I want to fill in right here is
158. 21:28code interpreter which that's a whole another level of [ __ ] data [ __ ] um so so that's how you get access to it
159. 21:36that's that's what you get if you pay for it now if you've paid for it and you don't see these addition additional two
160. 21:42options the two betas browse with Bing and plugins there's one thing you have to do you have to go to your settings so
161. 21:48I'm going to click on my name go to settings and then in your settings there's these beta features and you turn them
162. 21:55on so browse with Bing is turned on plugins is turned on so that's how you enable them once you have it and that's what it gives you
163. 22:04so um yeah and and the plugins are kind of insane so the way it works is you you click plugins then you have how whatever
164. 22:14plugins you have installed or in a list here and you can go to the plugin store to find more and when you go to the plugin store hold
165. 22:24please you have 139 pages of four plugins each so we're getting up there we're almost at 600 we're like five 500 and change um so
166. 22:39that's that's a lot of plugins that's a lot of plugins and then you can just sort of cruise through them you can
167. 22:44search for things like uh oh I don't know let's say writer so there's content rewriter there's copywriter send a URL and get
168. 22:54sales copywriting suggestions for any page let's install that so I'll show you how I'll show you how to do this
169. 23:00beginning to end so we're going to grab copywriter so now it's installed and I'm going to go back here to to my little drop-down menu in any
170. 23:11given session you can enable up to three of these things so I'm going to turn off prompt perfect and I'm going to leave on
171. 23:18copywriter which is down here at the bottom okay so now it's installed so what does it say it says send a URL and
172. 23:28get sales copyrighting suggestions for any page okay so I'm going to go to my site storyvine this is my company story vine.com

176. 24:16tweets about and then I'm going to paste in my little URL and let's see it should fire off that plug-in and assuming it's
177. 24:24not some broken piece of crap huh maybe I just need to put in the URL and not put in a prompt all right it looks like that
178. 24:41plugin is not working well that's disappointing oh you stupid technology oh dang it all right let's go back to the plugin store type in
179. 24:55writing we're going to uninstall that cuz that was a piece of doggy doooo content writer enter any URL and have the
180. 25:04text content Rewritten for you I we'll try that one we'll try one more of these this is this is a pile of dog
181. 25:11poo that's the other thing about the the plugins right now is they really are um they're hit they're Hit or Miss
182. 25:20whether they work or not they're and they're they're most of them are bad I'm sorry for the confusion but it's an AI
183. 25:26model I'm not allowed to see the internet which is [ __ ] enter any URL and have the text context so let's see rewrite
184. 25:44that all right now it's using the plugin I guess we had to tell it to rewrite storyvine is your go-to platform for

202. 28:13know when you raise 10 billion for your other company 100 million's like a cute little startup so he's got this cute
203. 28:20little startup called worldcoin and they got you know some cash and um yeah they've got this orb it's
204. 28:31like this chrome like soft ballish size thing with a hole in it and you put it put it against your eye I know this all
205. 28:39sounds creepy as [ __ ] I mean this totally does sound like um you know the robots are going to kill us um but but
206. 28:46what what it's doing is it's verifying that you're human so like this thing probably has some sort of blockchain
207. 28:53verified chip in it that's tied to you that's tied to your address that's it's tied to your social security number they
208. 29:00then verify that you're human and then upon verification apparently they're deleting the biometric data storing the
209. 29:08verification that you were verified human on this date on the blockchain and then they give you some World coin
210. 29:15tokens right so they're going to pay you free cryptocurrency to scan your eye the purpose isn't necessarily about the
211. 29:22cryptocurrency the purpose is to create blockchain verified humans so now you can start to build services on top of
212. 29:30that right so you could build a version of Twitter where the blue check mark actually means human verified right and
213. 29:37then you could also do blockchain verified posts and things like that um when you delete your history it
214. 29:45will be deleted on all devices or just one it'll be deleted on all so let me go show two things I'm going to talk about
215. 29:51your your history and safety or privacy because that's important if you're using this stuff for business um
216. 30:00and then I'll go show the instacart um plugin cuz that was pretty cool okay so you're here at chat GPT you've watched a
217. 30:10video on Tik Tok where someone said you can make money with chat GP and then you came here and you see this you're like
218. 30:16how do I make money with that you can make money with ch uh okay um if you're using this for business um the
219. 30:28the reason you're getting to use chat GPT for free is that they're using your interactions with it to train to
220. 30:35fine-tune chat gbt and make it better and then also your your um your prompt history here is susceptible basically to hacking so I don't put
221. 30:47anything in there that's super private or super you know proprietary um or you know client related um if you want to
222. 30:56not have them train on your data and not have a chat history you can turn it off so you go to dat data controls in in your uh
223. 31:08settings and it's this top button here chat train chat history and training you can turn that off and then um but if you
224. 31:17do that it's going to delete your trat chat history and it'll be gone I think it'll be gone across everything cuz it's
225. 31:23tied to your account so you there there's an option here to export your dat so if you're going to if you want to
226. 31:29make it safe and and more secure turn that [ __ ] off but make sure that you export it first or you'll lose all of
227. 31:36your like if you've got good prompts that you like to go back to in your chat history which I do um that's why I
228. 31:42haven't deleted mine yet so I'm just being careful with what what I put in there okay so now let's go play with
229. 31:47instacart so we're going to go back to plugins and I'm going to turn off content rewriter cuz that's a very
230. 31:56clever ad for a business I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to be inspired by that and then we're going to go to
231. 32:03instacart we're going to turn that on and then we're going to do this we're going to go um I'd like an original meal plan for the
232. 32:19weekend where we BBQ everything and it's it's all tasty and healthy can you help question
233. 32:38mark absolutely I'd be happy to help you with that chat GPT is very polite here's a barbecue meal plan for the weekend
234. 32:47that's both tasty and healthy grilled chicken salad yeah that sounds good dinner barbecue salmon with grilled
235. 32:53asparagus yeah I could take it or leave it um lunch on Sunday grilled vegie veggie skewes with tofu okay dinner
236. 33:02barbecue shrimp corn on the cup um I'm going to say allergic to shrimp uh shrimp can I have an
237. 33:19alternative of course Sunday dinner barbecue chicken skewes so Sunday's going to be the skure day we're going to have vegetable skewes
238. 33:29and so now it says would you like me to proceed with creating a shopping list now why yes yes and it fires off the instacart thing
239. 33:39so it understands that this was a grocery list it understands that it's got instacart in there and it made a
240. 33:45list and so now it's not going to provide me the list here it's going to provide me the list to instacart and it
241. 33:51should tell me that there's a little instacart list just waiting for me we can actually open these plugins up to
242. 33:59see what they did so here's what it sent and so now we're waiting for instacart to respond come on instacart I'm trying to

316. 44:22website this is dumb and they all sounded just like that and then they evolved and they got better and they figured out what the the
317. 44:34App Store ecosystem was and they launched the App Store and and the rest is history and and so now your phone is
318. 44:39this sort of multimodal device that does all this [ __ ] because of the app store that's what plugins are going to be
319. 44:45they're going to be much more transparent it's probably going to be a fair Fairly ubiquitous ecosystem where
