40. 9:06week. I talked about the reaction to it because I thought the reaction to it was kind of stupid. Open AAI put out a new
41. 9:13model last week, the 40 model. They just updated it and it was dramatically overly asskissy and there were just all these
42. 9:25these ex post. I didn't see as many on LinkedIn, which which makes me think it was, you know, it it was uh astroturf,
43. 9:33as they say. Um but there were lots and lots of posts how it was so sick of Fantic that it was going to ruin all of
44. 9:40humanity. Um well, OpenAI rolled back um 40 to the previous version as of I don't know, yesterday maybe. Um so that was
45. 9:50interesting news. Black bar. Yes, I knew that. I was just the thing the thing the reason I didn't have the black bar
46. 9:56there. Um Brandon hasn't had anything to do for two or three days. I mean sure like working and like raising a family
47. 10:04and what that stuff but but like real work. Didn't have anything to do. And so I wanted to just you know have the black
48. 10:12bar not there. So he's like oh I got I gotta I got to tell Kyle put the black bar up. You know because I'm because I'm
49. 10:19generous like that. You see it's how I roll. I like I'm a giver. I gave my kids some construction [Laughter]

51. 10:50this, when I first started the salon and I was doing Tik Tok videos, we were on Chat GPD 3.5 and then I think it was March of
52. 10:592023. Um, 4.0 comes out and it changed everything. And 4.0 was this massive 1.8 trillion parameter 10 mixture of experts
53. 11:11crazy ass model that was just different than anything we'd ever seen. And it changed the world. changed the [ __ ] world. They retired
54. 11:22it. Somebody put up a post on X about it that I thought was kind of cool. They said, you know, serious question. How
55. 11:29much metal would it take to basically, you know, etch into metal all the code for for all of the weights of the
56. 11:37original 40 model as a historical artifact that, you know, if you put it on magnetic media, it's going to be destroyed.
57. 11:44But if you if you do like a crypto wallet and etch it into metal, uh it could survive all sorts of stuff. Put it
58. 11:50in titanium or something hard like that. Yeah. Uh Meta has a new AIO OS app that's out. That's right. Um let me see.
59. 12:00Let me let me read through the list of possible things we could play with tonight. It's a lot. Um uh
60. 12:09uh I could talk about my trip to DC. So, the reason I wasn't live is I was in DC doing DC stuff. Uh, you know, on Capitol
61. 12:19Hill rubbing elbows with the likes of Senator Amy Clobashar's staff people. It was only staff people. Didn't
62. 12:30meet any actual senators, but we were in their offices. It was nice. Um, MidJourney's got a bunch of new features, including fast version 7,
63. 12:41including a new thing called EXP, I guess, expressiveness. Vicky's probably played with it. Runway has a new thing called references,
64. 12:51um, where you can upload like a location and a person and say, put this person in that location doing X, and it does it,
65. 12:59and then you make it into a movie. Pretty amazing. Um, Sunno came out with 4.5, which seems to be pretty [ __ ] good. It was pretty
66. 13:09[ __ ] good before. Um, Claude um, updated their model context protocol, the way it works so that Claude's going to be able to search
67. 13:24across. Okay, MCP, model context protocol. Basically, that's a thing that lets a large language model talk to
68. 13:33other applications. So, if you want your LLM to use tools, this is a thing that lets it do that. It's now going to be
69. 13:40able to dynamically search across all of the MCP servers that are out there, all of the apps that are available. So,
70. 13:46that's that's happened. Quen 3 is out. Chat.quen.com. Just go there. It's amazing. Here, look at this. Brendan, show the

73. 14:25I'm like, this just doesn't have the Janice Qua that I'm looking for in a 235 billion parameter model and before you
74. 14:32know it, bang, A22B. I what was funny was they they completely skipped A22A and I'm like, "Hey guys, you missed a
75. 14:43letter." And they're like, "Sorry, we don't speak English, so sorry." But it was it was really cute. It was really cute. So anyway, that's
76. 14:52out and and then what do you use that for? I think that's an obvious question, right? Well, like look at it like use it
77. 15:00for what you would use chat GPT for except know that your data will be stolen. Okay. Um, awesome. What else? Uh
78. 15:12oh. Chat GPT now has shopping in it. And Google is now inserting Adwords strategically into Gemini Answers. So we we made it a year without
79. 15:30advertising. Yes. Okay. Uh wait, there's more. But wait, there's more. Google Gemini AdWords. Yes, exactly. Um, there's a new design tool
80. 15:42called magicpatterns.com which looks pretty cool. Notebookm is coming out with a standalone app and then new
81. 15:50research tools link below. Okay. So, that shit's happening. And then on top of that, um, World ID is now out and available.
82. 16:04And they can now give away, um, Worldcoin crypto in the United States, which they couldn't before for like a year and a
83. 16:15half. Uh, Vicky and Sharon YouTube comments. Okay, let's see. Vicki, midjourney has determined to [ __ ] up my presentation tomorrow by

90. 17:25close to being able to have true character consistency and and like sets. So imagine um you know go into midjourney or go
91. 17:36into chat GPT and create like a western town right and here's looking one way down the street here's looking the other
92. 17:43way down the street here's the back alleys whatever it might be but you design all the all the things so so they're all kind of
93. 17:51cohesive and now you can just you know upload that into midjourney along with a character and say put this character on
94. 17:59this kind of horse in that town. So yeah, Ann Murphy's in the house. Hi everybody. Hey Ann Murphy. So Ann Murphy
95. 18:11apparently I haven't seen it. I haven't seen it but according to very credible sources and Brandon she kicked ass on Wednesday
96. 18:22without me. So like okay so here was the deal. We we had a thing last Wednesday and she couldn't do it. And then so I
97. 18:31said, "That's okay. We'll do it next Wednesday." Forgetting that I was going to be in Washington DC at a dinner. I couldn't do
98. 18:38it. And and so I got her back, which is good. But so what I figured she would do is cancel, but they had already
99. 18:44scheduled everyone. So she had to go solo. And apparently uh the feedback has been just keep doing it like that. Get
100. 18:52rid of the fat guy. So you know, we we'll have to see. We'll have to see how Ann is. Maybe maybe she invites me back.

102. 19:11Um what can I tell you? Let me tell you a little bit about um about Washington. Um, had a really interesting meeting
103. 19:24with some folks at Meta, that was nice. Um, the the uh the companies that we met with that we that we brought in for this
104. 19:36fly in um people were super nice. They were doing really interesting um really interesting businesses. There
105. 19:45were 10 AI companies there. Um but there was even there was a woman I met. We we met in the one senator's office and so
106. 19:52AI salon represented the AI companies and then there was um the a software alliance that represented some others
107. 20:00and then there was a community group that represented some others. And so we were at um who was it? Was it Chris Van Holland? Yeah, it
108. 20:11was at Chris Van Holland's office and this other woman was there and she she wasn't using AI, right? She it was it
109. 20:19was not an AI business. Her business was golf simulators. She's got two brickandmortar stores and then she's got
110. 20:25a truck, a 40 foot semi that's got two golf simulators in the front and back of it. Um, but she was talking about when
111. 20:32when we went in and talked to the to the people, she was talking about AI like she it's like she's like I have like a
112. 20:39staff of five people. like I I use it for my marketing strategy and my marketing execution and for my you know
113. 20:47business and for for legal documents and HR. She goes, "Do you know how hard it is to write a family leave policy?" And
114. 20:54then I just wrote it. And so like even the companies that are not using AI, especially the small scrappy ones are
115. 21:01like, "Yeah, I'm using AI." Like I couldn't be running my business without it. So that was kind of cool.
116. 21:07couple of our messages that that I was really passionate about are that my biggest one was legislate not just from
117. 21:15a position of risk or or fear but also from optimism right and and opportunity and and then the other thing is
118. 21:26understand the technology enough to understand the differences between you know this AI and that AI you know the AI
119. 21:35that does you know traffic analysis is not the same AI that these small businesses are using as their extended staff. And if you write
120. 21:43legislation in a in a brutish kind of way, you're going to sweep up small companies in in large company
121. 21:52legislation. So that that was a big part of it. There was another message around um because there's a vacuum of federal
122. 22:00AI legislation, all the states are taking over and writing their own legislation. Um, and so small businesses are going to
123. 22:09have to contend with that. And then my the other thing I just talked about is like how are you, you know, Mr. or Miss
124. 22:16Stafer, how are you using AI? And most of the answers were I'm not. So I put together a nice little leave behind for them, which they seem

135. 24:22put the five stages of AI adoption down the side. And this was a hit. Like the the woman from Meta loved this. And she was
136. 24:32she loved the Kevin Mallister moment. And then she goes who who was the one that said she goes this quote from? I'm
137. 24:40no longer the bottleneck to my own ambition. I was like uh that was me. But she loved that because, you know,
138. 24:47she she's like kind of getting her head around, you know, it's it's it's this layered kind of onion. And then this AI
139. 24:56policy framework, Daisy Thomas, who all who was also in DC, um, wrote the salon framework, which is this big really cool
140. 25:06document, but we distilled it down into this simple little policy framework. The other thing that's cool about this
141. 25:12document Tik Tok question um did you do that doc and 40? It's looking familiar, isn't it? So, um so this is just a copy
142. 25:23and paste from from Mighty Networks and then this was actual page layout [ __ ] but these two postcards, five stages of
143. 25:30AI adoption and AI salon policy framework, I did in 40. So, I uploaded the text and then I uploaded some
144. 25:38pictures that were just in the style of of AI salon branding and I said, "Make me postcards that that look like that."
145. 25:45Um, I did the the policy framework one first. And this was probably my fourth or fifth version where it got it
146. 25:54de. Um, I went in, there were a couple of letters I had to Photoshop. Um, this other one was a [ __ ] nightmare.
147. 26:02um these five steps. So, I had five steps and no matter what I tried, it would cut off the fifth step. It would
148. 26:10just cut it off and I'm like, "Don't cut it off." And then it would cut it off more and then I'd say, "You're missing
149. 26:15the fifth step." And it would cut it in half. And so, I finally just said, "Add a six step to this." And so, this document, the five
150. 26:24stages of AI adoption, it it it said before the six stages of AI adoption. And I photoshopped that out.
151. 26:33And then um it cut off stage six, but but it gave me stage five. So it worked. You got to embrace the jank,
152. 26:41people. I'm not going in and [ __ ] designing these things in a layout program. We don't do that anymore. We
153. 26:48don't use our brains. We don't use our skills. If if you've learned one thing from me, be lazy. I my my stepfather at
154. 26:56one point when I was a kid like nailed who I was. He's like he's like you will work 10 times as hard to not do the
155. 27:06thing that you just need to do. I'm like yeah Vickiy's working on her presentation now. Very good. Very nice.

184. 33:50co-hosting facilities. So, we were hosting all of our client websites on a server like where our tech guy worked
185. 33:59and one day we got a we got a call um hey and I think it was our Hitachi client. Might have been Hitachi and
186. 34:08they're like um we can't get to our website. Like what's going on? We can't get to our website. And we're like
187. 34:15looking at all the code and we're looking at the servers and everything's up and we're trying to figure it out. Uh
188. 34:20the the tech guy like leaned back and crossed his legs and kicked the Ethernet wire out of the wall. It was that was the machine that
189. 34:32hosted all of our client websites. Our tech guy kicked the wire out of the wall. Oh, them was the days. Them was
190. 34:46the days. I'll tell you what. I tell you what. Mhm. Oh, lordy. You will be

206. 37:44communicate. But the way we communicate there's a bunch of limitations to it. It's slow. Language is imprecise. I might say something, you
207. 37:56might hear something else, right? And so these things are just going to communicate on a very different level.
208. 38:01And it's like if we insist on being in the loop, we're going to slow [ __ ] down. Isn't that crazy? I thought that was so cool. But

227. 41:59anywhere Visa is accepted. Right. So, this is a new kind of currency. Yes, it's crypto, which generally I am
228. 42:09not touching with a 10-ft pole cuz it's just gross. Do you have to have world ID to access all this? You have to have world ID to
229. 42:21access the some of the applications. Um, and you certainly need world ID to be issued worldcoin. So here
230. 42:33here's a couple of let me tell you what world ID is first and then um and and why I think it's important
231. 42:44and then we'll talk about some of the other things. So on August 13, 2023, I only know this because I made a Tik Tok video about it
232. 42:56today. If you want an explanation of this recorded, well, you can watch this back, I guess, if this ends up being
233. 43:02coherent, but I also made a Tik Tok video today talking essentially about all the same stuff. Um, the there's the World Visa
234. 43:12card. Oh, they're also teaming up with Match.com to do dating profiles that are World ID enabled, which I'll talk about
235. 43:20in a second. Okay, so here's this thing. So, see this this ball with the little camera looking thing in it? That's called an orb
236. 43:31because because as a tech company, they want to name their products in the most science fiction terrifying way
237. 43:39possible. So, that's called the orb. And what it does is it scans your retina using six different wavelengths of
238. 43:46light, which the minute you hear scans your retina, most people go running for the hills and they're like, "They're
239. 43:51keeping all of our biometric data." Um, they're not, but they're using their biometric data to generate something.
240. 44:00So, so what it is, what a world ID is, it is a it is a ver verification that you or your eyeball more accurately is a unique human
241. 44:16being. So that you there can't be more than one of you. There can only be one of you that's got your retina and all the [ __ ] in
242. 44:24it and that you're a human being. And so it scans your it scans your eye. Takes about I don't know 30 seconds for it to
243. 44:31calibrate and do its [ __ ] and do its multi-wavelength passes. And the way it works is this. They they generate these
244. 44:39multiple images in different wavelengths. And then they somehow convert all of those into what's called
245. 44:46a hash. So it's just a big long string of numbers and letters that represents the data gathered from your thing. And
246. 44:54they throw the biometric data away. They keep the hash. They say the person that logged in with this app that went to
247. 45:04this orb in this city on this date, their retina is represented by this long string of numbers. They put
248. 45:12that into a database and then they look at all the other strings of numbers in the database and compare it and see if
249. 45:18anyone matches yours. And if it doesn't, if it's if it's unique, then you are granted a world ID. So, you can only have one world ID. They
250. 45:28don't know your name. They don't know your sex. They don't know anything. All of the stuff that if you think about 23
251. 45:35and me, right? And you're like, "Oh, this is just like that." No, no. 23 and me, you sent your your full DNA sequence
252. 45:42and they analyzed all of who you are. That was a very different thing. They had your data. In this case, they're
253. 45:49just verifying that the mathematical representation of your retina is unique compared to other people in the
254. 45:58database. Okay. And now 23 andme is going bankrupt and selling that data to a private equity firm. What could possibly go wrong?
255. 46:10Okay. So, that's what it is. Now, why do we need this [ __ ] thing? Well, have you been on LinkedIn or X or Facebook
256. 46:20lately or Instagram or Tik Tok? It's it's starting to get hard to know who's a person, who's not a person,
257. 46:29what's a bot account. There's all these bots bot accounts that used to just be these mechanical textbased things, but
258. 46:36now we're starting to see faceless videos that are not even faceless anymore. Now they have faces, but we don't know if they're
259. 46:43real. And so what world ID becomes the foundation for is you could create say a competitive social network to
260. 46:56X but you could guarantee that everyone on there is a human being if they if they had a world verified world
261. 47:05ID. So, do you remember about a month ago when OpenAI said, "Hey, by the way, we're launching a social network." And
262. 47:12then May 1st they're like, "World ID is available in the US." These two things I think are very very related. Um,
263. 47:23archetypal, they'll turn us all into NFTs effectively. Yeah. effectively what you become when you have a world ID.
264. 47:31It's it's an NFT, a nonfgeible token that is tied to your specific hashtag that's verified as unique in this
265. 47:39database of other hasht or hashes of of retinal scans. Yes, it we're we're literally becoming NFTTS. Um, so I have a feeling that because of
266. 47:56the Trump administration and and probably influenced by Elon Musk, they must have relaxed a crypto law, Gary Gensler was very much against
267. 48:07crypto. And so crypto's been hobbled for the past four or five years or whatever. You know, the crypto bros will tell you
268. 48:13it's been hobbled longer than that. Um but but you really couldn't do much in the US. Like like stuff was really hard
269. 48:21to use in the US. Um and and World ID and Worldcoin just disappeared from the US. I got my thing in August of 23 and
270. 48:30then when I checked again maybe in the spring of 24. There were no locations where you could get verified and
271. 48:36Worldcoin you couldn't get it anywhere. You would have to get it, you know, with VPNs and [ __ ] like that. It was crazy.
272. 48:44Um, and just May 1st they're like, "Okay, there's six cities where you can get these world IDs." And I got a notice
273. 48:51that said, you know, claim your worldcoin. And it basically deposited um crypto worldcoin into my account.
274. 49:01Um, so the crypto thing, here's why that's interesting. Tik Tok pin. I don't see it. There's nothing pinned right now.
275. 49:13Can my figure one get a world ID? Uh, I don't think so. Wait, what's figure one again? I forget what figure one [Music]
276. 49:26is. Oh, the robotics company. Yeah. No, I don't think it can. I mean, I think that's the point. Unless Unless they put
277. 49:33a human eyeball in a figure one, then it maybe could just put it in this gelatinous gelatinous gel so it can go

279. 49:55an SDK, software development kit, and an API so that you can develop software and you can incorporate these protocols into your
280. 50:05apps. So, they announced a deal with Match.com or the the Match holding company that they're going to create
281. 50:12dating apps that you'll be able to know that everyone on the dating app is a person, is a verified, you know, human.
282. 50:21Um there are um social media apps there. There's like a Discord API where you can you can create Discord channels or or
283. 50:32Discord uh servers that are for world ID only. You can also um let's say you're a a game company and and you want real
284. 50:43people to be playing your game. You don't want it to be botted out. Well, you could now create a game that only
285. 50:49humans could play and you could reward the best players with Worldcoin and then any other app in that infrastructure would maybe accept that
286. 51:01World Coin. So, you could buy stuff over here, earn money over there. Um, OpenAI is giving away this Worldcoin right now
287. 51:09just for you verifying. Um, is it going to be worth anything? I don't know. It's worth like a dollar a coin right now.
288. 51:17And they're going to give out 150. I think I get 150 just for being verified. And then because I went
289. 51:25early, I get another 150 for um being a pioneer. Woohoo. Um and I have to claim them over a certain number of months.
290. 51:34And it's, you know, they don't just hand it to you. You got to do a little bit of work. Um, and you know, if those things
291. 51:42become worth $10, then my 300 bucks turns into 3,000. So, who knows? Um, but this does become kind of a foundational
292. 51:56ecosystem for people to be able to interact, earn money, spend money, spend money in the real world with this Visa

315. 56:14your crypto. That's one of those things that are that there will never in my opinion. There will never be mass adoption of crypto or
316. 56:29NFTTS until you fix the problem of clicking on the wrong link on Twitter or Discord can drain your wallet of a
317. 56:40couple hundred,000 worth of crypto. As long as massive scams like that are literally a click away and you have to be like a [ __ ]
318. 56:51you know, a security [ __ ] cyber ninja to be able to outsmart the scammers. It'll never be adopted. Like that's my
319. 57:02deep deep belief. People just say blockchain for the hell of it with little to no understanding of it. Yeah.

326. 57:51for like two years. is I got in this project called Neotokyo and I I I went deep into this world. I've probably got
327. 57:58a dozen different crypto wallets. Within each crypto wallet, you've got multiple chains you can access. You've got to
328. 58:06bridge things from this chain to that chain. There's V vers versions of Ethereum that live on this network and
329. 58:14that network and that network. And then you need Binance over here, but Binance chain over here. And those are two
330. 58:21different thing. Like it is it's it is inexcusably inexcusably complicated.
331. 58:35And if you literally click on the wrong link and what that link was programmed to do is give your wallet to access your
332. 58:46wallet and open up its permissions for someone to drain it and then they just instantly drain it because they have a
333. 58:52bot sitting there waiting for that to be opened up. So, so you you have no no warning, no recourse. Just all your
334. 59:01$100,000 that you invested into [ __ ] Ethereum is gone. Nope. Not your keys, not your crypto. Well, I got my keys and I got scammed.
335. 59:15Now I'm [ __ ] broke. So, I don't know if that answered your question. And it can be useful for some problems, but not something that just
336. 59:23needs to be added everywhere. Yeah, I absolutely agree with that. Well, and that's, you know, it's funny, Pate. The the thing about um a
337. 59:33god damn that thing. Um the thing about Worldcoin um is that it's a it's a use of blockchain. So, so blockchain and DeFi and NFTTS to a
338. 59:48great degree have have long have long been a solution looking for a problem, right? It can do all this stuff. It can
339. 59:56track all this stuff. There's all these things we can do. They come up with all these solutions and all these different
340. 1:00:03companies and all these different protocols searching for a problem. Well, AI is going to be that problem, right? The mass proliferation
341. 1:00:15of human acting things is going to mean that we will not know if we're dealing with a human or not. And that's a real [ __ ] problem,
342. 1:00:28right? And so that's that's a case where here's a problem that blockchain could actually solve it, right? You can actually
343. 1:00:37track. So, so if you think about world ID, you could build a publishing ecosystem on top of world ID. So, you
344. 1:00:46basically say, "Hey, I'm going to create the equivalent of Time Inc., right? Where I'm going to have writers come
345. 1:00:52in." And you can't be a writer in my network unless you have a world ID. So, we know that every writer in here is a
346. 1:00:59unique human being. And then you could build a layer on top of that that is a like a publishing tracker like this
347. 1:01:09human being wrote this piece on this date and you write that into the blockchain. So you have you have this
348. 1:01:16ledger of this human being this piece and then you can verify that this piece written by this person has not been
349. 1:01:24modified. you're looking at an official pristine copy verified on the blockchain of what this person
350. 1:01:32said, right? And then someone could come along and they could respond and write an editorial response to this and that
351. 1:01:40would be tracked as well, right? So I could see once you have verified human stuff, then you can start to build all this all
352. 1:01:49these layers on top of it that that start to look really really interesting in a world where we don't know who
353. 1:01:57anyone is. And I also think it's going to help with um with bad behavior. So in today's world, if you want to just be a
354. 1:02:08douche and create 10 different accounts on X and 10 different accounts on Tik Tok and 10 over here and you just want to be spoofy
355. 1:02:16McSpoington and just scam people all day long, you can do it. You can sit there as a puppet master and just have all
356. 1:02:23these accounts and now you can use AI to just [ __ ] flood them with content. Well, if you only have one verified ID
357. 1:02:33and you can't get more than that and this is an ecosystem that's powerful, you don't want the reputation of that ID
