4:06 test and it
4:08 got better at creative writing in a in a
4:12 decently demonstrable
4:14 way and then I I made some lyrics and
4:17 I'll what we're going to talk about
4:19 tonight is is we're going to play with

20:11 in the salon is the the journey to AI
20:14 literacy
20:16 and the journey is this play first
20:20 mindfully create generously lead
20:23 and what does play first means
20:27 is starting off November 30th 2022 the
20:31 launch of chat
20:33 GPT that's the date in my opinion that
20:36 everything changes because that's the
20:38 date where anyone who can just use
20:44 words can generate things with AI right
20:48 the G the G in GPT is generative and the
20:52 p is pre-trained right you don't have to
20:55 bring your own data set you can just go
20:58 to chat GPT and use it it's been trained
21:00 on as much of the internet as they could
21:02 get their hands on and it's quite
21:04 stunning and
21:05 remarkable the challenge with all these
21:07 AI tools right now is they keep evolving
21:10 and changing and getting more capable
21:12 and so someone who was an expert three
21:14 months ago if they're not keeping up
21:16 with everything they're not an expert
21:17 now so no one's an expert everyone's a
21:19 dumb dumb and what's cool about this
21:22 community is you come in and you say
21:23 here's where I am and and where you are
21:26 could be Ground Zero I you know I got no
21:28 EXP experience I'm just curious that's
21:30 all you need come in be curious be
21:33 adventurous start playing start asking
21:35 questions if you learn something teach
21:38 someone else cuz someone will come in
21:40 right behind you that's where you were

23:03 the 40 model got an upgrade I guess
23:06 overnight and apparently it's better at
23:09 creative writing and the first test that
23:11 I gave it it kind of blew me away and so
23:14 I made a uh an Eminem
23:17 rap lyrics of like an Eminem
23:21 Cipher um that is the first time in two
23:24 years that I've ever had a large
23:25 language
23:26 model deliver something that is in the
23:29 neighborhood of what Eminem does
23:31 naturally like they've never been
23:34 close like song lyrics in particular in
23:37 particular
23:39 are really hard to do well with large
23:41 language models they know all the stuff
23:43 but they just tend to give you very
23:46 predictable bullshitty kind of
23:49 stuff um and it didn't today and then I
23:52 took those lyrics to sunno and I made a
23:55 song and it was quite remarkable so
23:56 that's what we're going to be playing
23:57 with I'm going to walk you through the
23:58 process of what I
24:00 did but I want to I want to share an
24:02 Insight I had last night at the
24:05 salon and that Insight is
24:09 um so this channel I started I started
24:12 the salon the week after chat GPT came
24:14 out I started my Tik Tok Channel about
24:16 the same time and I started doing these
24:19 lives uh primarily on Tik Tok uh April
24:22 of 20123 so you know more than a year
24:25 and a half I've been doing these lives
24:27 nightly
24:30 um the first year was magic like there
24:33 was new stuff coming out and you know I
24:36 was teaching people how to use it and I
24:37 was paying attention to everything and I
24:39 kind of had all these tools in my head I
24:41 knew that okay ping does this and and or
24:44 Pi does this and Bing does that and
24:47 Chachi PT does this and Claude does that
24:49 and I I could keep it all in my head and
24:51 there's you know a couple of song
24:53 generators there's a couple of image
24:55 things there's a video thing or two
24:59 and every time a new tool came out it
25:02 was like a new dopamine hit it was like
25:04 this new excitement and there was a
25:06 sense of urgency to
25:10 it and then sometime this
25:13 year I think it's started pretty close
25:15 to the beginning of the year February
25:17 March
25:19 maybe
25:21 um open AI started missing launches they
25:25 would announce [ __ ] and then just not
25:26 launch it right they they announced Sora
25:29 I think in March or
25:31 April and then they said well we're
25:33 going to definitely launch it in June
25:34 and then June came and went and then
25:36 August came and went and like we still
25:38 haven't had Sora right so they started
25:41 missing things and then all these other
25:43 companies were trying to catch up to
25:45 chat GPT and they were catching up to
25:47 chat GPT and what started happening was
25:50 there started to be so many tools that
25:52 were
25:53 gp4
25:55 class that I could no longer keep them
25:58 in my head and it also seemed less
26:01 relevant somehow to keep up with all
26:04 that stuff and so I kind of just went
26:06 into this
26:08 LW emotionally you know psychically like
26:12 what whatever just like like just
26:14 concept wise for what I'm doing here I
26:17 still kept showing up because there's
26:18 something one of the things I believe if
26:20 you're an entrepreneur in any way I
26:22 think the
26:25 biggest um determinant of success is if
26:30 you keep showing up and especially if
26:33 you keep showing up when you don't feel
26:36 like it that's really
26:39 important so I was talking about this
26:41 last night and and what hit me was in
26:44 the past month or so I've come to the
26:46 realization I've come to the acceptance
26:48 I've accepted in myself that I got
26:51 really seduced by all the new stuff like
26:54 like shiny object
26:55 syndrome and and and that
26:59 I'm not anymore and and what I've been
27:03 lamenting is the fact
27:07 that
27:11 I I've stopped playing with all the
27:15 tools I have in my hands right now I
27:17 mean I occasionally use a tool but I
27:19 just use it when I need it but I stopped
27:22 playing with them right going back to
27:23 that play first mindfully create
27:26 generously lead the play first part I
27:28 lost the
27:30 playfulness and I lost the playfulness
27:33 of tools like chat
27:34 GPT is is a remarkable [ __ ]
27:38 tool and how did I lose the joy for that
27:41 how did I lose the playfulness for that
27:43 well cuz I was kind of acting like I had
27:45 it figured out and I didn't have it
27:47 figured
27:48 out so last night on the uh oh wait from
27:53 Silver F demos will be on YouTube yep

28:39 hands and then last night there were a
28:41 couple of a couple of conversations
28:43 about people are feeling something
28:46 similar and it was Liz Miller gersfeld

28:57 festive okay good per perfect I I I I

29:20 said she is in a transition as well and
29:24 she and here's how she described
29:27 it when one of the one of the one of the
29:30 people that spoke talked about having a
29:32 sense of
29:33 urgency that they that they felt a sense
29:36 of urgency to learn Ai and that for for
29:39 me that resonated because it felt like
29:41 ah maybe that's what I've lost i' I've
29:42 lost that sense of urgency
29:45 personally and so that really resonated
29:47 and then Liz Miller gersfeld got up and
29:48 she said she's been in a transition she
29:50 said that that that word urgency
29:52 resonated for her as well and she said
29:55 I'm in a transition from an urgency of
29:58 breadth to an urgency of
30:01 depth and I thought that was just a it's
30:04 just a really beautiful pile of words to
30:07 put together right I'm moving from an
30:09 urgency of breadth to an urgency of
30:12 depth and what she meant was in the
30:15 early days of this AI stuff the
30:16 generative AI stuff there was just a
30:18 handful of things um that that you had
30:21 to learn and you could kind of learn
30:24 most of what they could do because they
30:26 were all so simple and they were all so
30:28 limited and janky and so we had this
30:31 urgency to learn it
30:33 all and the transition is chat GPT is no
30:37 longer a single tool it's about a dozen
30:41 different models and um interfaces and
30:47 applications all sort of mung together
30:50 into this one interface that makes it
30:53 look deceptively simple but it's
30:54 actually deceptively complicated
30:58 and so to get good at it now you've kind
31:00 of got to go deep you've got to pick a
31:03 lane and so for me that started to get
31:06 really exciting because it's like yeah
31:08 that's the there's been this lack of
31:10 urgency because you can't learn all of
31:13 it horizontally because if you think
31:16 about where AI is headed AI is headed to
31:20 becoming a ubiquitous fabric just like
31:23 the internet is right you can't you
31:25 can't just say I want to learn all of
31:27 the things you can do do on the internet
31:29 that would be ridiculous right well
31:31 that's kind of where AI is headed and
31:34 we're in that transition point where in
31:36 the first year year and a half you could
31:38 keep it all in your head the generative
31:39 AI stuff that's what I'm talking
31:41 about you can't anymore and the tools
31:44 are getting incredibly sophisticated and
31:48 what they can do is incredibly
31:49 sophisticated but you have to learn all
31:51 the nuances just like if you're really
31:53 good at Photoshop it took you a decade
31:56 to get there and the tool was evolved
31:58 and you were evolving but you were
31:59 getting better and better at it I we're
32:01 going to have similar sort of things
32:02 with AI um the cool thing about AI is AI
32:06 can teach us to use all the other tools
32:08 so if you're diving deep here and then
32:10 you want to go over here and dive deep
32:11 you can do that too so anyway urgency of
32:15 breath
32:16 breadth versus urgency
32:20 of
32:22 depth all right let me go look at

33:23 um and you made it so bad which is great

33:45 thing where you're problem solving right

33:59 that however long it took you 2 hours 4
34:02 hours 4 days doesn't matter the amount
34:05 of time you put into making that
34:08 commercial using AI tools
34:12 badly is going to be more valuable to
34:15 you than if you put in the exact same
34:17 amount of time doing something decent
34:19 with
34:20 traditional um
34:23 workflow because what you're learning is
34:26 where the boundaries of the AI Tech is
34:28 where your boundaries are in terms of
34:30 how good you are at prompting it and how
34:32 good you are at stitching [ __ ] together
34:34 and how good you are at dealing with the
34:36 massive content that these AI tools
34:38 generate right so um that's a cool one
34:42 uh congrats that's really great okay
34:44 let's see kaef on Tik Tok I heard about
34:46 a new AI video platform called Pinocchio
34:49 or something like that so Pinocchio is
34:51 not a uh an AI video
34:55 platform but what Pinocchio is is it's
34:57 an application you install on your Mac I
35:01 think it's Mac and PC definitely on Mac
35:03 um I think on PC and what it is it's an
35:07 application that allows you to run other

35:26 into Pinocchio you look for video model
35:28 X or flux 1.1 whatever it is and then
35:31 you install that on your computer and
35:34 then you run it in
35:35 Pinocchio um it can be slow it can be
35:38 janky the world of Open Source is very
35:41 very complicated if you're a geek and
35:43 love knobs and switches and dials run
35:47 down the open source Rabbit Hole there's
35:48 lots to play with there if you're not
35:51 just wait for all of that technology to
35:53 kind of migrate up to the commercial
35:55 tools all right beautiful all right
35:58 what's next here blue age on Tik Tock so
36:02 today which AI hallucinate the
36:07 least
36:08 um they all hallucinate a
36:16 lot it's a it's a it's actually a really
36:19 complicated question because use case is
36:23 really
36:24 important if you're talking about
36:26 creative writing
36:28 you might want to know which ones
36:30 hallucinate the most right like
36:32 hallucination isn't always bad
36:34 Hallucination is it means it's not going
36:36 to be predictable if you're trying to
36:39 get something factual that's
36:42 bad right so one of the ways you can
36:46 hedge against hallucinations is use a
36:48 tool like
36:49 perplexity that will search for the
36:51 internet search the internet and give
36:54 you answers to things and then give you
36:56 citations that you can click on and go
36:59 read The Source material that led
37:02 perplexity to write that even perplexity
37:05 will hallucinate citations so if you
37:07 don't go click on
37:09 them and verify the the data they might
37:12 just be
37:14 wrong
37:15 um using Code interpreter inside Claude
37:19 or inside um chat
37:24 GPT tends not to be super hallucinating
37:28 because it's writing python code and
37:30 executing it but it still hallucinates
37:33 it will add fictitious people into a
37:36 spreadsheet sometimes why I don't know
37:38 why um they all do it though and and I
37:42 think the the trick
37:44 is understand your knowledge domain well
37:47 enough that um you can check your work
37:52 right if you don't know anything about
37:54 the law and you hav't write a legal
37:56 opinion and then you read the legal
37:59 opinion you're going to look at it and
38:00 go yeah this looks reasonable and you
38:02 might give that to a judge right and the
38:04 judge is going to be like the hell is
38:07 this if a lawyer looks at that they're
38:10 going to be able to immediately pick out
38:11 oh these three things are wrong right so
38:13 I would say just you know know know your
38:16 know the use case know your knowledge
38:17 domain

39:25 chat GPT Claude

39:30 Google my order of where I would spend

44:14 very different tool than regular chat

44:18 um we're about to get the regular
44:20 version of 01 uh we're about to we're
44:24 about to get voice with camera
44:28 uh attached to it that was announced
44:31 today that that's apparently coming
44:33 where you'll be able to turn on your
44:34 camera and be in voice mode with chat
44:37 GPT and point your phone at the parking
44:40 signs and say am I allowed to park here
44:43 right now and it will figure that [ __ ]
44:44 out so that's coming um
44:49 um autonomous agents are coming Claud
44:52 sort of launched autonomous agents um
44:55 chat GPT is launching these things
44:56 called Opera ERS in January and then
44:59 chat GPT also has Orion which we think

45:29 and and Claude you know decently

45:37 is now better at creative writing right

45:41 again I like I just feel like chat GPT
45:44 is the one leading the charge and
45:45 everyone else is trying to catch it okay
