18. 4:30otherwise known as chat add this is also day two of 30 days of AI deep Dives where I attempt with my ADD and short attention span theater to
19. 4:44actually focus on a primary thing per [Laughter] [Music] night oh man alive man alive
20. 5:00all right I saw Brandon a minute ago on Tik Tock all [Music] right I'm here for the Deep dive are we
21. 5:14doing it did we already do it wait what wait what that's their name on on the Tik Tock there it's their handle their
22. 5:23handle you know they call it some call it a name some call it a handle some call it call it a a profile tag I don't
23. 5:30think anyone calls it a profile tag but you know wait what is their name uh they're wondering if this is going to
24. 5:38happen or not well if you haven't been here before we do things a little different here at the AI learning
25. 5:44lab um the fact that learning is in the title uh is is a bit of a an overpromise an overreach uh this is not a lab in
26. 5:54fact it's a shitty home office uh and we will occasionally talk about AI so that there's 's at least one of the three
27. 6:01objects in the name of the show that is somewhat accurate occasionally so i' like if you're batting 3333 in baseball
28. 6:10you're going to the hall of [ __ ] Fame you know what I'm saying I'm a Hall of [Music] Famer okay buddy I was here from the
29. 6:23beginning I travel back and forth I'll check you out and your dog nice very nice wait [Laughter] what yeah we're going to dig into we're
30. 6:34going to dig into operators again tonight um I also because because I know how to make good life decisions and decided to spend at
31. 6:45least $200 for one month of uh of of chat GPT um I have access to 01 Pro um and I thought oh [ __ ] it I'll
32. 6:57have it do something so I had to do something tonight and it it it was actually kind of impressive so um it it
33. 7:05it is related to what we'll do tonight so we'll go through that that's kind of cool um couple other things um I just
34. 7:12got Early Access to Pika 2.1 so p is one of the video tools and 2.1 I guess is their new model uh and I also got into
35. 7:22the minia max the Halo minia Max um Creator program so that's really cool so now in three Creator programs so um so
36. 7:33maybe next week we'll be talking about um um we'll be talking about video but I don't know we're gonna we're going to play it by ear as as
37. 7:45things evolve things evolve you know um I might also there's enough noise being made right now around R1 the the Deep seek R1 the open
38. 8:00source um chat gpt1 killer that that's open source and and uh apparently apparently deep seek R1 is just like a
39. 8:12side project of some other company they just decided to like put you know $5 million into building a model that beats the hundred
40. 8:23million dollars that Sam Alman has put in to Chad GPT gon be a wild year people it's G to be a wild Year anyway um so what we do here
41. 8:36if you have questions I'll just I'll just sort of ramble for a bit if you have questions about AI or or comments
42. 8:42or thoughts or you want me to look at something or talk about something feel pre Fe feel free to put those in the
43. 8:50comments um and then it's at some point here I don't know 15 minutes or so 10 minutes um I'll start digging into operators
44. 9:03um operators is really interesting so if you don't know what operators is uh it's it's a new it's it's the first just like chat
45. 9:12GPT was the first um AI chatbot um you know an llm that was designed for non-developers to be able to use right the you know
46. 9:25gpt3 for developers have been around for I don't know what a year and a half two years before before chat GPT launched
47. 9:34um there are other agent building tools out there right now but um operator is the first of those tools that is
48. 9:45really anyone can do it right you just give it a prompt just like you you give chat gbt a prompt and then you kind of
49. 9:52deal with it off Meandering about the internet which is which is fascinating but what it does is it basically spins
50. 10:00up a a web browser inside your chat window um and it goes and surfs the web right and it like um it it will go to
51. 10:11sites that you can log into and then it can do things on your behalf and it asks your permission for everything um so
52. 10:17it's absolutely fascinating the the thing that I am you know it's 2 days old so I am trying to quickly get my head out of you
53. 10:29can order groceries and you can make dinner reservations and you can make travel plans with it because quite
54. 10:36frankly we've had Bots that can do some version of that for a long time this maybe takes it to the next level where
55. 10:42we can actually go to different sites and look [ __ ] up and interact with it but I feel like you know I kind of feel like the
56. 10:51examples of how they're using agents right now or or operator right now those example um workflows are just I don't know they're
57. 11:05kind of lame it's like we've got a thing that can reason Rel relatively well and has access to the internet well what
58. 11:14could it do well I don't know we've also got tools like um repet agent and cursor that can help code things so maybe you know maybe we have
59. 11:30an operator come up with an app idea create something in cursor set up the environment and go make apps I I don't know like I don't
60. 11:41know so that should be [Music] fascinating have you discussed deep seek R1 I was just talking about it I think I think
61. 11:54um I think that's going to be a deep dive next week is I think over the weekend I'm going to get it installed on
62. 12:00something or I'll get I'll find an instance of it that's that's decent um that I can sort of point you
63. 12:06to if it's not that much of a nightmare my I I have historically steered clear of um open source models just because I
64. 12:18I'm I'm really trying to focus on the 98.5% of people who are not developers I feel like developers will figure their
65. 12:26own [ __ ] out and if you're doing open source you pretty much have to be a developer right now right there are some
66. 12:32tools that make it easy but for the most part you got to be pretty [ __ ] geeky so i' I've resisted it I've also
67. 12:38resisted spending $200 a month for [ __ ] chat GPT until operator came out so things change as these tools get
68. 12:48better um I'm going to try to kind of react in real time so uh it seems that deep seek R1 is good enough that it's
69. 12:58worth EXP exploring oh I see Brandon's cursor flying around let me see if he's in the backstage oh he's here here we'll bring him up yo dude

74. 13:46showed live to token usage AI Studio on Google yeah AI Studio on Google's pretty good you know again Google is so schizophrenic with
75. 13:58their product strategy where some of the cool stuff to play with is only in their development environment it's not clear
76. 14:05when it's coming out into I guess what you would consider their their their consumer app which is gemini.com uh which I I don't know I
77. 14:16don't know it's it's all these all these uh I feel like every single AI product at this point is do you remember okay so this is only
78. 14:28for the old people here but when when we were back in the days of shrink wrap software Microsoft Word was was good right and then they
79. 14:41put it out into the world and they would have every six months or maybe it was once a year they would have a new update
80. 14:46of Microsoft Word and maybe halfway through the year they'd do the the 0.1 update or the 0 five update
81. 14:53right and and because it was shrink wrap software they actually had to put discs in boxes and ship those out to stores
82. 15:00right so so it it it wasn't sort of the dynamic streaming software we get today and Microsoft Word just added
83. 15:09features and added features and added features and added features and there was there was a version of Microsoft Word that was sort of
84. 15:17the feature to Value Pinnacle the it was the top of the mountain um and it was it was Microsoft Word version
85. 15:275.1 and it it was just like it had all the [ __ ] everyone needed and like all the features they added after 5.1 just
86. 15:34made it a complicated nightmarish [ __ ] mess right um I feel like we are we have crested with a lot of these AI
87. 15:44tools right now and we're starting to come down the other side like every tool right now is so [ __ ] complicated the
88. 15:51the video tools can now make images the image tools can make videos some of them can make 3D objects some of them can't
89. 15:57make 3D objects some of the large language models can research some can code some can you know anyway it's just
90. 16:03[ __ ] crazy Microsoft Word had a button called fit to one page it would shrink your multi-page to to one to one
91. 16:13best best feature ever yeah it's it was things like that where where Microsoft 5.1 was the one that it just had all the
92. 16:21stuff and and in fact there was a I think there might have even been an official Microsoft rollback or or they
93. 16:28offered an official version of Word 5.1 when it had bloated the the term bloat Weare comes from Microsoft uh where they
94. 16:37just added so many features to it that it was just this bloated you know horrific mess it was it was 70s Elvis you [Laughter]
95. 16:46know they killed it forever I felt it deep in my soul I know do you guys have live streams via Mighty Network app I downloaded and
96. 16:57signed up for AI User Group but I'm not sure how to catch all your live streams uh amongst this community and others
97. 17:04um so mighty networks is weird um the subscription level that we're on for the AI Salon which by the way if you do want to join the AI
98. 17:14Salon which you should um go here go to the salon. and click on the button that says join our community that'll take you into
99. 17:25the mighty networks where the actual Community you know you can interact with the community in between in in between
100. 17:30these lives um hang on a sec some lovely Java um so the subscription level that we have
101. 17:45on Mighty networks right now um only gives us 20 20 hours a month of live streaming but we're about to upgrade and
102. 17:53I don't know how many hours a month we get there I would blow through 20 hours if I were doing these live streams
103. 18:00within Mighty networks I would blow through that in a week um so I I don't want to use something that that we're
104. 18:08limited on so so right now um all of the live meetings are sort of organized by the the the club leaders the the people
105. 18:17that run each of the individual clubs um I think at some point in 2025 we'll probably have um we'll probably have a
106. 18:26version of that where where we might start doing the live streaming directly within within the mighty networks cuz I
107. 18:32think I think it kind of makes sense AOL 11 discs I just heard about deep seek thoughts and safety um deep seek is a weird one I I don't
108. 18:44know enough about large language models when they give you an open- Source large language model with the weights you can
109. 18:50fine-tune it I don't know like is there a way for them to have backo back door security issues if you install it I don't think
110. 19:01so um I know that deep seek R1 is very very censored like if you ask it about Tian Square it will not answer you now
111. 19:10can you um can you strip it down to its its chord training and reverse that I don't know I honestly don't know but
112. 19:20that's one that that we're going to be exploring uh at some point in the next 30 days yeah there's there was a um I saw a
113. 19:32tweet earlier there there there were a number of comments about R1
114. 19:47today man I commented on Tim Ferris put out a put out a tweet that basically he's interviewing some other dude that's
115. 19:54like these AI tools are going to get really good we're [ __ ] and Tim Ferris put we're [ __ ] and then I commented on
116. 20:01that and said well what if instead of we're [ __ ] it's like we're going to have opportunity like we've never had
117. 20:07before holy [ __ ] am I getting a lot of action on that with people that are coming in all hot and bothered about AI like Jesus [Music]

119. 20:41R1 holy [ __ ] deep seek R1 is a mighty [Music] Beast see if I can
120. 20:57find let me put oh I spelled it wrong for one thing that could help deep seek R1 um side
121. 21:16project yeah here we go hater slow developer there's no doubt deep seek R1 has embarrassed all companies including open AI Google and
122. 21:26meta yeah it apparently met is in a bit of a a a panic right now because their llama 4 ain't anywhere near 01 or deep
123. 21:38seek R1 apparently it's getting its ass handed to it but that's just speculation um funny they call the best model a side
124. 21:46project and make it open source just imagine what China has achieved internally USA is in panic mode game on
125. 21:52so this is I don't know who this guy is um han han Xiao is deep seek going to make money he says deep seeks
126. 22:00holding and whatever that I guess that's the name of the company is a is a Quant company many years already super smart
127. 22:09guys with top math background they happen to own a lot of gpus for trading and crypto mining purposes and deep seek
128. 22:18is their side project for squeezing those gpus so apparently deep seek is just a bunch of math guys burning burning
129. 22:28through through uh through trades on crypto mining mining crypto uh and they were like hey why don't we why don't we
130. 22:36try to make a reasoning engine on the side on the weekends explain deep seek versus open AI please okay well so this is gonna be
131. 22:48uh if pate's in here he can he can spank me for for misinformation um so so I don't know a ton of it but basically it's this um chat
132. 23:01gpt1 and and chat GPT 40 all of what we use in in chat GPT is not OP Source it is owned and controlled and optimized and the safety
133. 23:14guard rails are put on it by open AI so if we're using it we have to use it on Open AI servers we have to send our data
134. 23:23to them we have to trust that they're not going to steal our data that they're not going to share our data or leak our
135. 23:30data um if chat GPT decides or if if open AI decides ah [ __ ] it custom gpts were not all that interesting we're not
136. 23:40really going to do the we're not going to let people monetize it we have to deal with that right so so we're we're
137. 23:47at the mercy of whatever corporate decisions they make the danger of that is that to to create the kind of um powerful models that they've
138. 24:02created you need to raise a lot of money right they just raised half a trillion dollars to build compute infrastructure
139. 24:13to be able to do their new models what that means is there's going to be a relatively few companies open AI Google probably Amazon
140. 24:25meta now meta has been open- sourcing their tools so we'll come back to them in a second but you're you're going to have a a handful of
141. 24:32companies that are are what are called these Frontier Model companies that have enough money and resources to make these state-of-the-art
142. 24:41models the danger when you have Consolidated power in three corporations or four corporations or whatever it
143. 24:48boils down to is that the government can just come in and regulate the [ __ ] out of them and say you're you're only going
144. 24:55to release this amount of power to the people deep seek and and the Llama models currently from meta are open- Source
145. 25:04meaning I could take this deep seek model I could go get um you know a fancy Mac laptop right or one of nvidia's new
146. 25:15um what are they called digits uh you know desktop supercomputers and I can run that model that's as powerful as 01
147. 25:23right on my desktop none of my data goes out to the internet I can uh fine-tune it and tweak it on my own I
148. 25:32could make it specialized for this that or the other so um so the difference is the power of chat gp01 is literally in the hands of people
149. 25:44that are you know putting these things small versions on Raspberry pies and laptops and phones and things like that
150. 25:51like there's a lot of videos out right now where they're taking the optimized versions of that model and running them
151. 25:57locally on phones um so that's the the big difference is control who controls the data right and as we know from
152. 26:05Google controlling the data owning the data is the business right if you're getting it for free or cheap you're the b you're you're the
153. 26:16business right [Music]

162. 28:30about but if local can't access the internet doesn't that limit its capability well so it depends what you're trying to do with
163. 28:42it if you if you need it to process information like the very latest news then yeah you would need access to the
164. 28:50internet but if you needed to solve like major physics problems maybe physics problem s that you don't want other people to know that
165. 28:59you're working on you probably don't need access to the latest you know news and chitter chatter on the internet
166. 29:07um and they'll also keep updating those models and I would imagine that once you have the weights you can probably update
167. 29:14them yourselves and things like that so I don't know um but but yeah it limits it a bit but it's not it's not as like
168. 29:22once you have once you have a reasoning engine that can solve you know big mathematics problems and use reasoning
169. 29:30to to work through problems there's a lot of stuff that you can do that would that would make real good sense to have not connected to the

177. 31:17guess because I do have access to operator that's fascinating I was I was trying to see if uh I don't know if what I'm I think what
178. 31:29I'm about to show you is available to plus users but I'm not 100% sure maybe Brandon that's something you could you could figure
179. 31:36out Kyle your tabs amazing collection at this P at this point you're a curator I I I I prefer the derogatory term tab
180. 31:45hoarder uh I am a tab hoarder I enjoy my tabs um there's something about my ADHD and pattern recognition that I love
181. 31:54being able to just scan them and like quickly quickly click on things um 90% of them I'll never click on again but I
182. 32:02will never admit that to myself so I just let my browser CRA crash on a regular basis um and I yell at Google
183. 32:10for having shitty memory management um which they do because you know you you know you I I promise you I promise you these
184. 32:21discussions have gone on within the engineering Suites in the Google office is well you uh logically uh users should should
185. 32:32probably not uh keep more than 6.2 tabs active uh concurrently uh once once you uh exceed uh seven tabs of course well I
186. 32:42mean 6.3 would be the the number but you can't have a third of a tab of course which I mean we've tried to program that
187. 32:47was it was it was a humorous uh exercise and but once you uh exceed seven tabs uh then we're doing what would be called
188. 32:54memory swapping and and there's of course challenges with cash man management and and cookie management and
189. 32:59and and of course we would recommend that users uh manage their tabs just like their email uh strive for inbox
190. 33:05zero and and uh and just you know don't do not keep tabs open uh we would also recommend that that users on a regular
191. 33:12basis restart the Chrome browser once every well officially 52.6 minutes uh but you once an hour would be be a
192. 33:22recommendation that we would encourage people to do uh for for the stability uh of of the The Experience no
193. 33:33no I'm going to have 100 tabs open and I'm gonna leave my browser run until you force me to restart my machine which at
194. 33:39this point is twice a day am I bitter about it oh yeah bitter bitter you betcha okay Kyle's tabs look like the flags of the
195. 33:55world I thought 6.4 20 would be the humorous exercise yeah exactly hi new people um this is our equivalent of
196. 34:04Music on hold yes um the one of the nicknames of the channel here is chat add um I will get to uh uh demoing and
197. 34:14playing with operators but there's some stuff I want to show you first that I think is worth looking at
198. 34:20okay so so I don't you may or may not know there's a thing in chat GPT called canvas which you can you can access from
199. 34:29this little row of icons here at the bottom of the of the chat thing the chat bar chat bar chat box I never know what
200. 34:38to call that what do you call this thing the Google box the the the the entry form input area I'm sure it has a name and I'm sure
201. 34:52I won't like it anybody know what that's called The Box the chat bar I've been fighting with canvas once I turn it on I
202. 34:59don't know how to turn it off oh okay I think I can show you that the chat hole perfect null null actually has this
203. 35:05figured out this is technically called the chat hole and so anyway the three icons at the bottom of the chat hole
204. 35:12this middle one you click on that and that's tools right and you can search the web and you can use reasoning I you
205. 35:17can also use reasoning from up here so I don't know why the [ __ ] they're putting the same [ __ ] thing in multiple menu
206. 35:24items but that's neither here they near one of the things here's can and so if you create a canvas I can say
207. 35:31um write me an epic poem about the power of chat GPT
208. 35:46operator that launched yesterday um please go research the latest so you know what it
209. 36:03is the poem um should be in the style of The Iliad illed is that right I think
210. 36:22so okay so now what it's going to do is it creates this thing called a canvas and so this thing over here on the right
211. 36:35is the canvas the thing over here on the is left is your chat box you can change the width of these if you didn't know
212. 36:41that you can they got you know what's it called responsive design they got responsive design people they they've
213. 36:50used some clever CSS and HTML and react elements I'm just talking out of my ass I don't know which one of those this actually is
214. 36:58but you can you can slide it the chat hole is over on the left and your canvas is on the right now the cool thing about
215. 37:06the canvas is this is now an editable document sing Muse of the operator's might chat gpt's latest heral borne of
216. 37:15luminous thought who wields the power of custom code a Titan's gift to shape the world with data's whispered truths
217. 37:22whatever uh and I could say I don't like that with data's um hallowed truths so I can just go in and I can change that
218. 37:31slick nice um you can also do things here like um adjust the length I can make it longer I can make it shorter I
219. 37:40can adjust the reading level to let's go to kindergarten kindergarten reading level boom let's rewrite The Iliad in
220. 37:50kindergarten sing little ones of something so neat a helper called operator really a treat born Le from
221. 37:57Smart Minds it works every day helping with tasks in a magical way I this might be a reflection of my intellect but I
222. 38:06kind of like the kindergarten version of this much better oh okay ask the chat hole to make it a
223. 38:20game yeah exactly okay so a couple of things um so so you can now edit this and so Cory wait was it Corey or was it

225. 38:37Camp um the way this works so the the canvas you can actually close the canvas and you can come back to it so you'll notice here
226. 38:49um if I click on this little box right that says chat operator I can I can open and close it like that so you can
227. 38:57actually create multiple canvases in the same chat so I could say um let me make another canvas and I'm going to say um I
228. 39:06want you to make a an HTML SL react game um that teaches Kinder Gart teners about
229. 39:26operator and so it's going to spin up a new canvas and now it's going to start writing code and then it's going to it's
230. 39:36going to expand it for us allow network access always allow was probably stupid I should probably not always allow it to
231. 39:44access the internet but I did because I know how to live I know how to make Good Life Choices we've talked about that now
232. 39:51I can close this and I think it's GNA still keep going should be still going yep still working and I could scroll back and I could go
233. 39:59oh wait I wanted to go fix that poem so I click on the poem and let's see is this let's see sing little ones yeah
234. 40:13this is the same one okay so so I went back to this canvas and now I can go to the operator game and I can go back to this canvas
235. 40:25okay so this is the thing that I wanted to show you so that's what so canvas is an editable document now you can put
236. 40:33poetry in there you can put business plans in there I'll show you a cool thing that I did uh with 01 Pro because
237. 40:41I have access to it um that's related to operators but they just added a new thing so in Claude if you've ever used Claude
238. 40:48AI um you can have it right in application and it will preview it in the window well they've added that now
239. 40:55in chat GPT so you'll notice up here in the right hand corner um here's our code our HTML and react code for turning this
240. 41:02into a kindergartener game I can hit preview now and I've never done this by the way always allow um okay so now we
241. 41:11have a game right hello friend do you want to learn about the operator yes operator is a helper helper helper opo
242. 41:20is a hel tool that makes things easier Husker McGill cutti that is the best [ __ ] name um so it's like branching
243. 41:35your work yeah exactly like so can think of canvases is within a given chat you can spin up these editable documents
244. 41:45right so I think you guys have seen me maybe I'll do a deep dive on this next week I've done I've done deep Dives
245. 41:52before where I'll take um a whiteboard of of an app that that was just like someone took a picture of a whiteboard
246. 41:59and then I'll go into chat GPT upload the picture of the Whiteboard and then just cycle through coming up with a name

292. 50:02I'd like you to identify some use case personas or different kinds of people at different roles and then identify three
293. 50:10use cases for each role that are multi-step workflows that involve at least three different categories of website needed to achieve the
294. 50:22role I'm even my prompts are just [ __ ] run on sentences I'm trying to come up with a list of unique and interesting use cases to test the
295. 50:37operators like what I'm trying to do here is if we're going to do a deep dive on operators I'm like I don't want to
296. 50:42just do the same [ __ ] you see on all the videos and and do the same [ __ ] that everyone's already done I think

324. 55:09service on the internet and so we're building the site and the IT Department's not giving us access not
325. 55:15giving us access and our clients getting pissed off and they're and they're like why like why is the site not working
326. 55:23we're like well we don't have access to your back end because your it Department won't give it to us so they called this

466. 1:20:43hardware device um has got something similar to this but it is nowhere near this good it's you you still have to
467. 1:20:51program um Claude has something something like this but you have to program apis this is no apis this is
468. 1:21:00literally um chat GPT seeing web pages identifying the interface and input elements reading the page determining
469. 1:21:09where it wants to click typing into input forms and then going to other sites look oh oh people people people this is so
470. 1:21:20important um operators are tab horders look at all the tabs it's got open it's got brewing equipment tab a
471. 1:21:31bunch of different things um oh this makes me so happy this look at this ethics questions on Tik Tok What keeps
472. 1:21:40it from inadvertently stealing ideas it sees on the internet that aren't that haven't been copywritten well so if someone put something out
473. 1:21:52there that that is original um it it implicitly has copyright on it right like when you put some when you create
474. 1:22:02something you have you have an inherent copyright on it now there's a question about can you copyright anything where
475. 1:22:09you used AI to create it that's a whole separate [ __ ] conversation um if something is out publicly available on the
476. 1:22:18internet there's nothing that would stop this you say steal the idea there's nothing to stop this from seeing the
477. 1:22:25idea and using it just like there's nothing to stop a person from seeing that idea and using it it's no
