32. 6:18uh my current gig is I'm a co-founder and CEO of a company called storyvine which is an automated video storytelling platform I uh
33. 6:27I've started a lot of companies in in the early days of the world wide web in the mid 90s I started one of the first
34. 6:33digital agencies company called agency.com why do I say that because hey it's kind of cool but more importantly
35. 6:41um the early days of the World Wide Web are very very it's feel this AI stuff's feeling very very familiar uh to the
36. 6:49early days of the web and that was pretty transformative and I think this stuff's going to be even more
37. 6:53transformative the other thing that I'll do here is if you're like yeah but Kyle I don't know where to start
38. 7:00everyone's been talking about Ai and I would like to get into AI but I don't know where to start Kyle what do I do
39. 7:06what do I do well we're going to take care of that we're going to tell you what to do uh if you have questions comments thoughts
40. 7:15clever trolls you did just don't put in a dumb troll because we'll make fun of you the Irregulars the Irregulars will take
41. 7:25you down I'll Take You Down what's a clever troll you might ask well a clever troll is one that seems at first like a compliment
42. 7:34and then the more you read it you're like huh huh that kind of stings thank you for the hearty heart um yeah so

45. 8:03that everyone on the planet right now that's you know that uses computers in any way deserves to play with these tools long enough to
46. 8:18have what I call your Kevin McAllister moment remember Home Alone because somewhere between five minutes in and I
47. 8:28don't know an hour or two in you will ask this thing to do something for you and it will blow your [ __ ] mind oh I
48. 8:36also swear and I also make stupid voices and act like an idiot and if you want to know what my qualifications are none of them make sense
49. 8:44so oh there's the champion chippy um so this thing this thing will do something at some point that will make
50. 8:55you realize holy crap this is something different and and that's what these things are so this is the official chat GPT website
51. 9:02Claude and Bing are also things you can play with but if you're brand new just start here and then if you really don't
52. 9:09know what to do there and you know you've heard people talk about prompting and prompt engineering and all this crap
53. 9:14just go to prompts.chat that thing down there it's just a document I'm not affiliated with any of these so if you
54. 9:20don't do it it's no skin off my back but I think it is worth your while and just go to prompts.chat that'll teach you how
55. 9:28to talk to these things it'll give you a lot of ideas for what you can do with them uh and uh yeah and then we I got
56. 9:34lots of other stuff we can talk about and why don't you pop some questions in I'll jump in there and do what I can to

85. 14:21right now any course that you take right now anything that you teach yourself right now is likely going to be Irrelevant in four months
86. 14:33this stuff is moving so fast it's moving so fast that all of the stuff that is critical skills today critical skills
87. 14:41for your AI career all of that [ __ ] it's all changing all the time so what I so I I don't know that any certification
88. 14:51has any particular gravity these days if if you're if you're on the the engineering and machine learning side of
89. 15:00the house then yeah then then you know go to Stanford go to Harvard go go get those kind of certificates or degrees
90. 15:06that's super valuable but with this generative AI stuff with chat gbt and the image generation tools and all this
91. 15:13new stuff that is is getting merged into our tools uh Google yesterday I think uh released uh or announced General availability of duet
92. 15:26so all of their barred AI [ __ ] they've announced General availability Within their office suite and uh Meetup beats
93. 15:36me you know meet.google.com um so I just applied for that for my company today so I don't know I don't know where I'm going to get it but
94. 15:45that's coming so this stuff's coming it's changing fast so what I would say is if you find someone that you like
95. 15:52someone that you trust if if it's you know not ridiculous amounts of money and if they're not making all sorts of promises like
96. 16:00I thought he was legit avoid those people like the [ __ ] plague um what I would say is take one of those courses to to get into
97. 16:13a curious adventurous mindset that's the biggest thing you can do right now is just start to open yourself up to
98. 16:22these things force you to work in very different ways it's just it's I it's essentially impossible to explain
99. 16:31how different it is to work with these tools than everything we've done in history thank you share bear um
100. 16:39so so if you find a course you like go for it except that anything you learn there's going to be irrelevant within
101. 16:46six months and just get into that Curiosity mindset and what it what what that does for me is I I don't I don't
102. 16:55think it's necessary to take a course right now I do think it's necessary to just start exploring start exploring
103. 17:00start playing figure out what you're good at figure out what these things are good at what they're not good at where
104. 17:05those things overlap and at some point in there you'll go oh it's really good at this or I'm really good at this with that

144. 24:40soon I would imagine they're gonna be free for a while because they want to get a bunch of users but um I pay for
145. 24:46mid-journey I pay for chat GPT gpt4 I paid for zapier I pay for um Google collab but I haven't paid for
146. 25:01that in a while I'm probably gonna pay for teams at work because most of my Pharma clients use teams and it's going to get
147. 25:11some AI stuff pretty soon we pay for Google work stuff like the office suite I think that's about it oh I paid for I pay for uh
148. 25:2511 labs and D- ID for The Voice the synthetic voice and the animated people sort of thing so those are the things I
149. 25:35pay for I wouldn't pay for Poe um what do you think will be after AI what makes you think we're going to be here after AI young man
150. 25:54um I so I don't know that there's an after AI I think AI is is a profound shift in how we use computers how we communicate how we
151. 26:09create um you know like like I almost feel like the question is kind of the equivalent of um
152. 26:24you know what do I think will be after the World Wide Web like ask it asking me that in 1994. I can't foresee us ever not having the
153. 26:33web and the internet all this interconnected stuff I can't ever see us not having you know some flavor of Chachi PT and
154. 26:42it's not even chat gbt that's like I actually feel chechi BT is kind of a it is by definition a limiting um name
155. 26:54right because it kind of is it it kind of implies this right you type in words like a Google Search and you get back text
156. 27:03um these things are very very quickly gonna get non they're gonna get multimodal you'll be able to talk into
157. 27:11them put images into them shoot live video into them pull all that stuff out music out it's it's gonna be as ubiquitous as IP into
158. 27:23it Internet Protocol it's gonna be everywhere it's going to be all software is going to have this layer this veneer of magic
159. 27:35it's like literal [ __ ] pixie dust sitting on top of all of these complex systems that we've spent the past 70 or 80 years building
160. 27:46and then this magic pixie dust is gonna make it easy fun it's gonna automate the boring [ __ ] it's gonna make you know everything easier
161. 27:57and so I don't I don't think there is life after AI I think there's just different levels of it you know when the World Wide Web first
162. 28:05came out it was very very simple you couldn't even Center images you want to see something cool this was

168. 29:30tag didn't work on images so we're right now with AI like this so if you think about the internet today
169. 29:44and like how sophisticated it is on your phone and how sophisticated it is and we've got streaming services and we've
170. 29:52got YouTube and we've got social networks and we've got streaming services and we've got YouTube and we've
171. 29:58got social networks and we've got all that [ __ ] none of that existed it was this it was blue hyperlinks on a white page
172. 30:05with black text and left Justified images that's what the World Wide Web was that's where we are with generative AI right now
173. 30:15as sophisticated as it is it's the equivalent of this in terms of its in terms of what it's going to be so what's
174. 30:22coming is going to blow our [ __ ] minds and I think I think we've got a big one coming I think so Google is um
175. 30:31announcing Gemini hopefully launching Gemini this fall so they've got their barred thing right the new model is
176. 30:40called Gemini it's multimodal from what I understand and they're claiming it's five times better than chat GPT now
177. 30:50um Sam Altman goes that's just the marketing team and Sam Altman's right but what does Google have well Google's got everything we [ __ ]
178. 31:02searched for and done and written for the past 20 years they've got YouTube they've got they've got all the data
179. 31:11they've they've got the entire [ __ ] web index so the depth of the data that they've got is I Can Only Imagine
180. 31:21it is beyond our our ability to comprehend how far beyond our comprehension it is so now what's the challenge with Google
181. 31:33they're Google they're they're they're engineering heavy and Humanities life right um open AI has more of a feeling kind of
182. 31:42like apple did in the early days where it's this balance of arts and human or you know Arts and Sciences right Google
183. 31:48all science very little art right these are large language models so that's a Humanity um so we'll see so so they can screw it
184. 31:58up and they've you know they they've had some pretty embarrassingly bad technology for the beginning part of
185. 32:03this year but it's gotten better so big stuff is coming but this is this is where we are so if you weren't around
186. 32:11to see the internet when it looked like this that's what it looked like and that's that's what we're here's here's what it sounded like
187. 32:19when when I made the first issue of urban desires so I was living in an apartment in Brooklyn and you know I
188. 32:26came up with this I was super happy about it I'm like how do I get it on the internet and someone someone sent me back a note and they said
189. 32:32um there's this computer in California here's the phone number for it you gotta stick your files there it was it was an
190. 32:39internet server and so this is what it sounded like when I called that computer foreign [Music]

192. 33:02you don't appreciate what we went through you have no idea none you little whippersnappers in greats get

209. 35:47if you've not played with chat gbt there's no shame here but damn it get thee to a nunnery right now get the to
210. 35:55chat.openai.com that's the official chat GPT website and start playing and you're like but Kyle what do I do I don't know
211. 36:01what to do just tell it to write you a country song about a fat dog and just watch what it does and then try
212. 36:09to stump it and just watch what it does and then download prompts.chat or don't download it go to prompts.chat it's a
213. 36:16document and it'll teach you how to talk to these things how they work what they are how to talk to them it's really
214. 36:22powerful document and then it's it's just a good starting off point so chat apt is really good gpt4 the one
215. 36:30you pay for is is the best of them out there it's possible Gemini comes along and knocks them off the hill but right
216. 36:36now it's the best it's also got this thing called Advanced data analytics used to be called code interpreter that
217. 36:43is [ __ ] mind-blowing so that's that Bing is Microsoft's offering of chat gpt4 it's connected to the internet it
218. 36:53can make images it can read images uh and it's got too many safety guard rails on it so it annoys the [ __ ] out of me
219. 37:00but it is connected to the internet Claude is anthropics um competitor to chat GPT the big selling point with Claude is
220. 37:09it's got a hundred thousand token context window and you're like but Kyle what's that mean doesn't really [ __ ] matter what it
221. 37:18means is Geeks count tokens and humans count Words so it's about 75 000 words it's got a window of about 75 000 words it can
222. 37:28process in any given conversation so like instantly so you could paste in a 50 000 word novel into Claude
223. 37:39and tell it to write you an epilogue for that novel and it will and you can say write an epilogue for this and keep it in the tone of the
224. 37:47novel or you know write it in the first person of the you know the protagonist that's in the third person in the novel
225. 37:54or whatever it might be all right oh so so that's that and yet Claude sometimes does sometimes doesn't work so these
226. 38:02three I consider kind of the three my three go-to's I'm I'm kind of on the edge of flipping out um Bing for bard
227. 38:13because I think Bard is a little more useful than Bing Bing the safety guard rails on Bing just just annoy the [ __ ]
228. 38:20out of me but what I in what I find myself ending up doing is I'll bounce between these three when I'm when I'm
229. 38:25when I get stuck on one and it's not giving me what what I want I'll just pop over to one of the other ones and just
230. 38:32try recreating the whole prompt chain that I did in the one that was failing because they're all kind of different so
231. 38:38that's a good way to play with these um these four are four other options so Bard that's the one I mentioned that's
232. 38:44Google's labs.perplexity is good for research and citations uh well no perplexity.ai is good for research and
233. 38:52citations Labs dot perplexity is they're hosting meta's llama model for all of us just to play with so that's the open
234. 39:01source model that meta put out um there's code llama and then three flavors of llama two um there and you can play with them for
235. 39:10free and if you like them you can go make your own servers and do all sorts of happy horse [ __ ] and then Pi dot AI
236. 39:17is chatty GPT it's a it's a conversational chat bot so if you put it in voice mode and talk to it it's kind
237. 39:25of mind-blowing and then Poe is uh you can play with different models there you can create Bots and things like that all
238. 39:33right so that's that and then on the image front these are the biggies that I think are worth your attention on the

297. 50:15chat GPT and one of them is write a paper without it and then you know the the whole thing is going to be them using critical thinking
298. 50:25back to critical thinking to determine what was chat GPT good at what wasn't it good at how did you prompt it in such a
299. 50:32way to get better results just right using the critical thinking and then how did that change how you wrote the
300. 50:38regular paper so if you don't if you haven't found her search for Gibson I think I think her name is like I am

305. 51:21presentation software so I found Claude to be easy to work with but gives a lot of inaccurate information yep it does
306. 51:28all of them do Luna stick there's there's no the the only thing that that gets that gets close is when you take a
307. 51:40source document and analyze it so if you go into code interpreter or Advanced data analytics or if you use a plug-in on a
308. 51:49PDF or if you're in Claude and you copy and paste a big long document and then ask it questions about the
309. 51:56document it tends to be really good at that it doesn't seem to hallucinate too much when it when it just has a clear source file
310. 52:04but anything you're asking kind of kind of of the general internet it will get pretty hallucinating um the thing that helps that
311. 52:15is if you haven't gone to prompts.chat just go there and you know the the Persona things where you tell chat GPT
312. 52:21to act like a certain thing and respond in a certain way and have back and forth conversations with it the more sort of context you can
313. 52:30round out to give it to narrow its data set the better it seems to get so that may be a a tip but yeah all of these
314. 52:38things right now again back to my my idea of you know generative AI today is like web pages were in 1994 um they're just they're just janky
315. 52:50pieces of [ __ ] right now so so you have to act accordingly and you know humans are still very very necessary with these

323. 54:13um so there's a couple of ways you can play with whisper you can download the Open AI app on iOS and I'm pretty sure

336. 56:31probably some others but this one's just really really good this is the first one that I've seen that it doesn't suck

419. 1:10:21does is it is it Imports two libraries to to unzip the file and then it unzips it figures out what's in it so then it
420. 1:10:29said the presence of Json with the name uh suggesting U.S states hence a potential geodata so it knows what
421. 1:10:36geodata is I'll take a look at the first few rows of the Chipotle store CSV file and it's got State location address
422. 1:10:44latitude longitude the presence of lat launch columns indicates the CSV file contains geodata next I'll inspect the
423. 1:10:53structure of the U.S states file to see how it goes um type features okay from the sample data the geometry section contains coordinates
424. 1:11:11wait from the sample data provided the geometry section contains coordinates that describe the shape of Alabama
425. 1:11:19so it's determined in this file it's got the shape of states indicating that this is geodata representing the boundaries of U.S states

490. 1:23:05um knows business so someone who can be sort of a translator Between Worlds right so you got the business world you got the content world
491. 1:23:17you've got the AI World you've got the technology World you've got the marketing world you got the sales world
492. 1:23:23you got all these different worlds so she wants to find someone that can sit at the middle of that and and be a
493. 1:23:29linchpin for her she initially thought that was a prompt engineer and then she realized it was way bigger than that so
494. 1:23:34while you probably can get a job as a prompt engineer just start getting curious start exploring start building
495. 1:23:40[ __ ] start building [ __ ] and zapier because the difference between just being good at prompting and being able
496. 1:23:47to create an automation that automatically creates a machine that does prompting big big difference and might be a big difference in value
497. 1:23:55and then if you can understand business that's another bonus point on top of that and then if you understand writing
498. 1:24:01on top of prompting that's good because not only can you prompt you can edit the [ __ ] that chat EBT gives you when you
499. 1:24:08realize oh this is dog [ __ ] this is good so start thinking horizontally in terms of your skill set
500. 1:24:18because these tools allow you to do lots of different things well and you can be more like an a conductor of an orchestra

502. 1:24:35dozen in two years and quite frankly I think most of these tools the requirement of learning how to prompt is going to go away

504. 1:24:55so it depends where you want to be and what you want to do but I would go more horizontal than than thinking of it that that tactically

730. 2:01:22embedding is where you take a whole pile of your company data like let's say we're going to take Salesforce data for

732. 2:01:35now becomes effectively gptable along with all of the other chat GPT data so you're kind of augmenting the larger
