2:13
most days I don't recognize me. But these shoes and this apron, that place and its patrons have taken more than I can bear.
2:28
It's not easy to know I'm not anything like I used to be, although it's true I was never attention-sweet [music] center.
2:42
I still remember that girl. She's imperfect, but she tries. She is good, >> [singing] >> but she lies. She is hard on herself.
2:57
>> [music] >> She's broken and won't ask for help. She is messy, but she's kind. >> [music] >> She's lonely
3:09
most of the time. She's all of this mixed up and baked beautiful pie. She is gone, but she used [music] to be mine.
3:24
Um Okay, so tonight is Monday night for the AI Learning Lab live. This is the pre-show. If you're new here, welcome.
3:32
We're going live on the AI Salon. So, if you're on LinkedIn or YouTube, in the description is the link straight over to
3:38

4:03
>> So, what are we talking about tonight? So, Monday's like big news night, meaty topic night. Sometimes it's meltdown Mondays where I
4:11
just rant for an hour about nothing. Sometimes I rant about something. >> [music] >> So, Open AI made a couple of interesting
4:22
announcements today that I think are worth us talking about. And I also I actually think that a lot of the people in the AI Salon
4:40
could benefit from it. [music] But, it also something's something's shifting.
4:59
>> [music] >> Every time I see you now, get that look in my Every time I see your mouth out,
5:16
hear that smile. In the early misty morning, light I heard the engine turning in the old Ford outside. >> [music]
5:29
>> Chef Kelly is in the house. What do we got in the house? Give me a Give me a comment whether you're on YouTube or or the TikTok. Just
5:37
Just say hi so I can see who's here. >> [music] >> And we'll be going live official. This is just a pre-show.
5:48
You're like, "Good god, Kyle. It This is the pre-show and it's this entertaining? What must the show be like?" Exactly.
5:59
This is the pre-show and it's this good. I know. I know. It's radical. >> [laughter] >> I'm not new here, it just doesn't mean I'm old here.
6:14
Welcome to the club. >> [laughter]
6:34
[music] [music] >> 10,000 words swarm around my head.
6:49
A million more in books written beneath my bed. >> [music] >> I wrote all read them all when searching
7:00
in the swamps. Still can't find how to hold my hands. >> [music] >> And I know you need me in the next room over.
7:12
I'm stuck in here all paralyzed. Four months I got myself in. Like four months I got myself in something. I don't know the words.
7:27
But if you come to the real show, I will know the words. I just won't be singing. >> [laughter] >> Um welcome to the AI Learning Lab live
7:35
pre-show. Um [snorts] Looks like Source Camp just shared the live. >> [music] >> Um So, if you want to know where the live
7:45
is going to be, you go to my profile on TikTok or X. You go to the comment right below this video on LinkedIn or YouTube. And the the uh
7:55
the direct link is there. Uh we're going to talk in a We're going to be talking about OpenAI's new delivery company.
8:07
Not like Amazon delivery. It's similar, but different. It doesn't involve trucks. And then they also delivered a cybersecurity
8:21
offering today. And then Mira Murati also put out a video of her new venture. >> [music] >> So, if you remember, she was uh
8:35
she was the CTO at OpenAI for a while. I think she was kind of involved in the uh ousting of Sam Altman for a while there. >> [music]
8:49
[music] [music] [music]
9:06
>> So, we're going to be talking about that. Um last Friday night, we did an AMA, which was a blast. So, the the uh
9:12
the way the the lives look now, we go live Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7:30 p.m. Mountain Time, so 9:30 Eastern, 6:30 Pacific.
9:23
Um we go for 90 minutes. Monday is kind of big news item to talk about. Wednesday is we're going to play with something.
9:32
Figure out what we're going to play with and make stuff. And then Friday's an AMA. And we're going to do that uh for for a
9:40
while, for a couple of weeks, couple of months, who knows. When I started this channel, I just said my only thing I know is I'm going to go
9:49
live seven nights a week for a year, and I did that. And then I went seven uh five nights a week for two and a half years.
9:59
And now we're down to three nights a week, but in a much more focused way. We're inside the AI Salon. So, really excited about that.
10:07
Trumpy Wumpy. Man, I'm hot. I am hot, people. He was so hot. He was a little sweaty. He looked a little moist. He looked a
10:17
little moist. He was a little sweaty. >> [music] >> So, this is the AI Salon AI Learning Lab pre-show.
10:34
We are pre-show hearing right now. If you have any questions about AI, you can pop them in the questions. I'm
10:39
happy to answer them. If you have any comments, if you could be so kind, if someone on YouTube or LinkedIn could just post a
10:45
comment so I can see if they're working. Cuz sometimes StreamYard is pleasant. There we go. Sharon, this is going to
10:54
deliver me to retirement. Oh, they're going to deliver me to retirement. Who is? Open AI? They might.
11:01
Hello. Hello, Valerie. What's happening? >> [music] >> The pre-game AI Bob. Hello. It's AI Bob. >> [music]
11:17
[music] >> Oh, boy. >> [music] [music]
11:34
>> You know what? direction. This car is my train. I've been driving, I've been wondering.
11:49
Is that a collared shirt you're wearing? Yeah, I wear collared shirts most days, but because of how we did the the TikTok
11:55
lives, I had to put on a black shirt cuz the comments couldn't be read. But now we're doing this different thing, so I
12:01
can wear whatever the hell shirt I want. It's fantastic. Bring in their Trojan horse. It's okay, I'll show them how to replace me.
12:14
There was an interesting article, was it in the Wall Street Journal or it might have been the the the Verve verb Verve?
12:23
About how Hollywood right now, all the writers, producers, directors are basically training AI models how to replace them. >> [laughter]
12:33
>> When when you get a town that that works on on contract work, you know, we'll pay you a lot of money for the next 2
12:40
months. Okay, I'll take it. They're yeah, they're they're doing the work to replace themselves. Fascinating. >> [clears throat]
12:53
>> All right. So in 5 minutes, 5 4 3 2 1 minutes, we're heading over to the AI Salon. The live will go live there. Tonight we're
13:03
going to talk about uh some announcements from OpenAI today. I think we're probably going to see a couple of more announcements from OpenAI
13:10
this week. These two announcements today feel feel related to something coming. >> [music] [music]
13:30
[music] >> There was also a >> [music] >> Look like there was a rumor that there's a new video model from Google from Gemini coming out.
13:44
>> [music] >> Um next week I think is their developer conference Google IO. I think that's next week.
13:51
Um so it makes sense that open AI would drop a bunch of stuff this week to preempt Google which is going to drop a bunch of stuff next week.
13:59
Um hopefully Google's getting better at this thing where they don't just announce a bunch of [ __ ] and then never
14:04
launch it. I hopefully they're going to you know announce stuff that we can play. I need to come up for air. It's
14:09
all happening so fast these days. We'll talk about that tonight. We'll talk about that tonight. Um
14:24
Even though things are accelerating, I think the actual power play right now is to slow down. As humans. Um
14:36
There's I I talked about a book called Turning Pro and and in the book he talks about addictive behavior that you're either a
14:45
an amateur or a pro. You're either an artist or an addict. And if you're an addict, you can be an addict to a bunch of things. You can be
14:52
an addict to you know substances or sex or whatever, but you can also be an addict to productivity or doing work or
15:01
working out or whatever, right? You can you can be addicted to lots of things and what he talks about in the book is that
15:08
that when you're in an in an addictive mode, you get addicted to the point of incapacitation. I feel like AI right now is making
15:16
people productive to the point of incapacitation. That just because you can execute 10 things simultaneously
15:28
you you can't actually process the 10 things simultaneously. So, you end up producing all this [ __ ] that you can't
15:34
even deal with. Not dealing. I mean creating. Yeah. Let's see. I agree. I've turned back back to dealing by hand. Yeah, exactly.
15:45
I think the power play right now is to find places to insert friction into the process. Because AI is a friction-free environment.
15:55
And I think we as humans need a little We need time to process. And it's it's not a bug. I think that's one of the things that
16:04
I the trap that I fell into was more faster, more faster, do more better, more better, more better, more better.
16:11
ADD dream. ADD [ __ ] nightmare. Right? ADD nightmare. Okay. I'm going to get out of here. Uh thanks for hanging out in the pre-show.
16:20
I will see you if you uh if you are new, if you go to LinkedIn or YouTube, click on the description. That'll take you to
16:28
the over to the AI Salon where we're going to be going live in 2 minutes. Uh or if you're on TikTok or X, just go to
16:36
my profile and click on the link there. All right? I will see you over there in 2 minutes. Probably 1 minute at this point.
