42. 9:27about a storage business something you know like named Three Mile Storage right and then it it was perfect and I you
43. 9:34know came in there with my thoughts and it it it just didn't go well for me steo has the contract apparently steo and
44. 9:45three M storage are now Partners strategic Partners in the mascot business [Music]

58. 13:05announced um that advanced voice will now have video that's a part of it it looks quite remarkable the little example that they
59. 13:15showed was they they sort of went around the table and had people introduce themselves and then asked voice you know
60. 13:23who was the person wearing the reindeer hat and who was the person in the red sweater and it remembered it was pretty
61. 13:29cool I think I think it's going to be quite quite remarkable I saw your 11 video today oh yeah when I when
62. 13:40I went a live when I went live for that and then I I um I talked last night or the night before I've been thinking a lot so okay
63. 13:57so here I'm trying to anticipate something that I think is coming so here's what's coming the tools the AI tools just
64. 14:09across the board in every domain from video to image to to music to voice synthesis to avatars to large language
65. 14:18models to coding tools all across the board the tools are getting better and better and better and better and we still have a rather Hefty
66. 14:33population and I don't mean Hefty like my kind of Hefty you know that's husky we have a rather Hefty population
67. 14:46of people that are either ignoring AI terrified of AI or just [ __ ] raging at AI um and the challenge that I have the thing that
68. 15:03I'm passionate about is getting as many people as possible to try it um and people are not going to try it
69. 15:10if they're pissed off at it and if they're terrified of it and so I finally had a breakthrough about about how to
70. 15:17reframe thinking about Ai and how you might use it even if you're afraid of it even if you're pissed off at it
71. 15:26um so I've got that presentation I gave that pre presentation spontaneously this afternoon just so I could record I just
72. 15:33wanted to get it recorded but I think I'll go through it again tonight because i' I'd love to get your feedback on it
73. 15:39and see if it if it rings true and if it feels like it's missing anything but I think I think there's something there um
74. 15:47for mods on Tik Tok actually for mods anywhere the mod channel on the salon I have my iPad back up so if you want if you want to ping me for

76. 16:10too busy yesterday thus closed for New signups I was able to log in with my chat GPT Plus account yeah I noticed I
77. 16:17did one video today and it seemed like it rendered it faster so it looks like they've up their uh their server
78. 16:23allocations um by the way the the two or thre hour um all of open AI crashing yesterday for two or three hours it was a configuration error
79. 16:38somebody put a configuration in some upgrade they did and it you know I think it basically just um shut off access to their
80. 16:50servers it probably took him while to find [Music] it I don't mean to laugh because as as as you know one of the people that that
81. 17:02did that that's probably got to feel like [ __ ] but sometimes [ __ ] just happens we had something happen a month or two ago at
82. 17:12Story vine that was a similar sort of it was there was a lot more drama than there needed to be let's put it
83. 17:19that way hey an Murphy what's happening so Anne Murphy's in the house let me share something here um let me go find it first

85. 17:47while last year and Murphy and I did this thing called uh GPT for good was a 24hour GP Aon where we just had people
86. 17:58make G gpts for nonprofits this community and the AI Salon Community came together and built more than 150 gpts for nonprofits in 24
87. 18:09hours this year we thought to hell with the nonprofits this is about us right everybody's got to learn this stuff now
88. 18:17I'm just kidding of course it's for the nonprofits that's the business that Murphy Works in that's that's why I'm busting on
89. 18:26her she's like I I've got investors in here you can't say those things um and what's funny is Ann doesn't even talk
90. 18:35like that but you know what she does talk like you make the weirdest thing you see you know beautiful long hair and then that's what
91. 18:43she sounds like it's like really anyway that's neither here NE there December 27th and 28th the Friday and Saturday in between Christmas and
92. 18:54New Year's we're doing AI Festivus 2024 so it's basically we start it I think it's like 900 in the morning Pacific
93. 19:01time and go until early evening all day Friday all day Saturday doing okay oh yeah and the website's not
94. 19:11really done exactly we need our pictures on here and don't you think don't you think it should just be I think it
95. 19:17should be like just giant pictures of you and me and then a teeny little mouse type oh and if you want to come learn
96. 19:24[ __ ] you can do that too but whatever we can work with the designers on that um so the site's not quite finished yet but
97. 19:32um reserve the the dates uh December 27th Friday December 28th Saturday from morning till evening every hour is a
98. 19:44different instructor from the AI Salon from uh she leads AI from just cool people that we know coming in and
99. 19:51teaching you all sorts of cool stuff all right so mark it down be there we I know you're going to be with your family I
100. 20:00know that weekend in between Christmas and New Year's you're going to absolutely be fed up with your family you're gonna need an
101. 20:09excuse to just say Aunt Martha listen yes I no I I I do want to hear about the insulin pump it's that's really exciting
102. 20:19um I I have a work thing and I know I shouldn't do it when I'm on holiday but I'm just going to have to lock myself in
103. 20:25the room and do this work I can't be interrupted right so we can buy you three four five hours of peace from the
104. 20:33family just lock the door and come hang out with us you'll learn something it'll be fantastic all right fantastic Bob tell him what he's
105. 20:43won uh well he hasn't won anything it's not a game show oh well I like that line well that's a parent you say it all the time [Music]
106. 20:58oversharing is a struggle like 20 hours to hide for your family you're welcome exactly exactly it's like last year it was for the
107. 21:09nonprofits this year we're giving a gift to you we're g to teach you things and give you the opportunity for some peace
108. 21:17in your life I think that's good oh by the way if you live in a functional family where everyone loves each other and you are all raised
109. 21:27nicely really really really you're not invited the dysfunctional people will will be doing festiv us those of you
110. 21:38with those those 0.01% of you that grw up in nice families just do you just like walk around gloating all the time
111. 21:48like yeah well you know I was loved I was acknowledged they're proud of me really really all right anyway all right you
112. 21:59know but anyway we're here we're here for the rest of you because if you've got families like that then you deserve them probably
113. 22:10because you're well adjusted and you actually do deserve them my family pretends to be functional I love that my
114. 22:18f visitors say I wish my family was like yours H got you all fooled exactly that's a good one Tom those are the best
115. 22:27oh the families that look look like they're functional when they when they snap they snap they snap hard come on now most of us a Gen X

125. 24:48stuff all right so here's what I'd like to do I want to walk you through this this new framework I put together because I'm
126. 24:58actually pretty excited about it and I'm I'm curious I'm curious like where and how to share it and if I should share it if it's got
127. 25:06value I think it's got value though so here's here's here's my request to you I'm g walk you through it it'll take
128. 25:14us about 10 minutes it's only three slides um i' I'd like you to think about this in a in in a couple of different ways if
129. 25:25if you've got a lot of fear about a AI B basically if if fear of AI is overriding your willingness to play with it to try it to
130. 25:35explore and and jump in definitely pay attention if you know someone like that if you know people that are just pissed
131. 25:42off about it they're just every time you mention it they're just like you to hear about AI anymore shut
132. 25:50up about AI you know that face if you if you know people that have that face um or they're angry about it it's
133. 25:58that it's the world's greatest largest plagarism machine braah BR where they're they're using all of those very valid fears and concerns and
134. 26:12rage as an excuse not to deal with it and that's what that's what what what this particular thing is about is
135. 26:22is is a framework to say can we acknowledge Their Fear acknowledge their um their anger if they've got it and
136. 26:35then still say you know this could still help 10 minutes of Kyle time is actually 45 minutes of real time yeah so wait
137. 26:44what time is it now all right so it's 8:25 to Tom's point if I finish this before nine o'clock that's 10 minutes

142. 27:30your email and tell them how much you really like whatever their company does and then offer them services that that
143. 27:39are clearly not something they need all right so on LinkedIn do that uh if you're on X just rage tweet just rage
144. 27:47tweet the whole time I do this all right Perfect all right we're what we're looking for here is engagement we're
145. 27:52just looking for engagement right want to keep the ecosystems breathing um Tik tock yall are [Music]

150. 28:44so here's how this here here's how the world works in the oh and let me give you a caveat um what I'm going to talk
151. 28:53about is your relationship to AI but not your relationship to other people this is this is a very narrow lens we're
152. 29:01looking through right now what I'm what I'm trying to get to is if someone has a personal of front with AI how can I sort
153. 29:08of crack through that and and I didn't want to over complicate it so this is quite simple so we'll start with youu
154. 29:14and you is going to be represented by two little halves of a circle right the top half and bottom half
155. 29:22and this is kind of the whole of you as it relates to AI it again it's it's not in relationship to teams colleagues any
156. 29:30of that sort of stuff just your your relationship to what you do your aspirations and and your work in the
157. 29:39world so the top half is the passionate you the you that's like this is what I love this is my passion this is the
158. 29:48thing I want to do for all my life this is the the thing I have to do it might be quilting it might be pizza making it
159. 29:55might be fixing cars it might be whatever ever acting movie making the bottom half is the prosperity part right that's the money-making part
160. 30:05I've got a job I do this I do that if you're if you're remarkably like remarkably fortunate in your life those
161. 30:17two things are actually the same thing right there are people in this world few and far between that are making money doing a
162. 30:27thing they love I think entrepreneurs fall into this a lot because they're just like a I'm unhirable and B I'm so
163. 30:33passionate about this thing I'm going to go figure out a way to make money at it but those things could be separate
164. 30:39but they're very very personal right they're you like you know what they are and then Along Comes Ai and AI initially you didn't have to
165. 30:49worry about it because it was it was very specialized and you had to have a mathematics degree to do anything about it
166. 30:58and then chat GPT comes out and all of a sudden it's like oh I guess anyone can use this now and then it seems to be
167. 31:06getting better and better and better and for 50 years Hollywood's been telling us that that the robots are
168. 31:15going to kill us and all the economists are telling us that the AI is going to take our jobs and so if if you're just sitting on the
169. 31:25outside listening to all this essentially what it feels like is AI as it gets better and better and better is going to do this
170. 31:34right it's going to destroy you you know I did that I did that hip-hop video the Eminem hipop video and
171. 31:42a lot of the comments on there are like rap's dead rappers are dead so much for Ghost Riders this is [ __ ] this is
172. 31:50evil right because they're they're looking at this as a self-expression form potentially as a Prosperity part of their
173. 31:58identity and they see something like that AI song and they're like AI evil AI is going to take me out AI bad
174. 32:07right so here's the Insight that I had the self-expression part of you the part that wants to put something in the
175. 32:21world it all starts from this internal thing whatever that fire is is in there and then you choose an outlet right you
176. 32:29choose I'm going to make a quilt I'm going to make a painting I'm going to make a sculpture I'm going to make a
177. 32:34computer software I'm going to make a whatever and you've got this thing that you build or these things that you build you put them in the
178. 32:42world those things are actually one step removed from you you might have very personal attachment to them right you
179. 32:48might love your paintings and love your sculpture and love the sandwiches you make but they're not you they're a step
180. 32:55removed from you and then a Step Beyond that oops A Step Beyond that is the creative process right so this is I've got to go
181. 33:06to Michaels to get paint and I've gotta I've got to organize my files and I got to clean up the studio and I've gotta
182. 33:13right and I I got to put all the stuff together and that's that's even further removed from you so so even if your passion is
183. 33:20illustration you know maybe buying pens at the art store drives you crazy and you want to be able to make that easier
184. 33:28or something like that but it's it's further removed from who you are what that core value is same on the
185. 33:34prosperity side right you've got okay I need to make money and you come up with ways to make money and then and then the
186. 33:41business product is the maybe you're a salesperson so it's it's the selling process or maybe you've got an
187. 33:48e-commerce site and it's setting your you know your uh your e-commerce site up and putting the business product out
188. 33:55there that your customers actually interact with and then sitting outside that is the business process and that's again further a step
189. 34:04further removed from you so there's all these different layers and and one of the things that led me to this diagram
190. 34:15was when I would have an opportunity to talk to someone that was really passionately anti- AI passionately it's evil
191. 34:27well would you ever use it to like help you write an email oh yeah I use it for that all the time oh okay so AI is not
192. 34:35evil it's just evil when it's when when when you're assigning AI is going to replace that part of me that I value
193. 34:44then it's evil right then it's like ah okay great so so you can actually distinguish between different activities and different
194. 34:52tasks it's the whole purpose of this chart is to say okay so now that we've got AI rather than just looking at yourself as this monolithic
195. 35:03blob and looking at AI as this monolithic blob that's going to you know subsume you what if you look at yourself in a
196. 35:11bit more of a sophisticated way and then you can say you can choose which part of all of this that you want to use AI for for maybe there
197. 35:25are some things that are sacred maybe the creative product and your ideation and all of that maybe that's the Sacred
198. 35:32Space but creative process where you're organizing things business product business process may maybe that stuff
199. 35:40you're all like yeah I'm I'm happy to use AI on that okay great so so now you've got some boundaries and then the next thing
200. 35:47becomes well so how do you learn this stuff and this this goes straight back to the AI salon and how you learn this stuff is this you play
201. 35:58and you play with AI completely outside of all of this stuff right if all of this stuff is who you are and how you
202. 36:06make money learning AI can live 100% outside of that just play just go make a kids book go make a whatever a a design
203. 36:20a garden even even even if maybe you have a friend that designs go design a garden for a friend just play just play
204. 36:27play play all these tools are so good and what you'll find in playing is that you will learn you will learn a thing or
205. 36:42two that will sort of Pierce the armor of this protective sphere and you're like oh that actually probably would be cool to write an email
206. 36:51like maybe I could do personalized emails a lot faster yeah right now I'm spending two or three hours a week
207. 36:57writing emails what if I could make them more personalized and only spend 15 minutes huh right and then you let you
208. 37:06let you know a little bit of AI into business process right it's it's still not who you are but right and that's it this is basically it
209. 37:15this is this is all I got so I'm curious what are your thoughts does make sense does this track does this resonate
210. 37:30figuring out how to articulate that it's been like a month in the making it's like God thoughts good bad Watching You on YouTube instead of
211. 37:45Tik Tok very cool play is where I learn Tik Tock pin can we have a sticker of this sure I will [Music]
212. 38:03I will put this in the AI I mean it doesn't I guess I should have a version of this that's got some sort of instructions on it like what the
213. 38:15what the hell this thing even means but if you just want something to put somewhere we can do this needs more llamas yeah I know it's
214. 38:26very Cor and very like undesigned I just I just did something quick if someone wants to make a pretty version of it
215. 38:33you're you're welcome to do that all right I'm gonna where am I gonna put this um we don't have a future of

219. 39:05I'm just going to throw this in here uh I think there should be a discussion thread and I'll just say here is a way um here it's a framework
220. 39:22framework for how to think about using AI in a way that retains
221. 39:37your I don't know sacred center it's very Bolder um while using AI uh for less
222. 39:52valuable tasks I mean the the thing about that the thing about this for me is like like you can go as deep as you want to go in
223. 40:03my case I want AI all the way down to the center because for me generative AI tools are absolutely a form of self-expression right and I
224. 40:15think they're also absolutely um a potential for you make for Revenue right so I want I want AI I want those play Arrows to come from
225. 40:26those play play things all the way into the center other people are going to protect areas and that's that's the
226. 40:31whole point of this all right so I'll just put that for there um if anyone wants to make this useful for more
227. 40:39people you could just you could in comments describe what the hell this thing actually means um but let me copy
228. 40:45this and I'll also share it in the um Irregulars so we'll go to Irregulars Irregulars and we'll just pop that right in there there you
229. 41:00go and also feel free to use this if there's if there's people in your life that are like hate AI you know have this
230. 41:08conversation with them because I think there's something there all right love it because so many artists are bothered
231. 41:14by AI exactly and that's that's the thing is like when I've dug down particularly with creatives um let's see are people really
232. 41:26afraid of losing their jobs are they afraid of not having food well I think in today's society those are synonymous
233. 41:36um people are certainly afraid of their livelihood being being threatened and you know quite frankly the I think the the the meme
234. 41:50that that Paul rates are um kind of popularized of an AI is not going to take your job but someone using AI is
235. 41:58going to take your job um even Paul rer has said that that that quote is is not aging well because the AIS are getting
236. 42:07capable enough and once we get uh autonomous agents um they are going to start taking jobs so people's livelihoods are at risk right if you
237. 42:17look at what's going on in Hollywood if you look at what's going on with writers if you look at what's going on in ad
238. 42:22agencies there's already a lot of disruption it's just not it's not on the surface yet I have a feeling in 2025
239. 42:29it's going to Bubble more to the surface so I think that I think that this rage and anger and fear is we're going to see more of it
240. 42:38and then I think we're going to see more people going but I need to deal with this how do I deal how do I reconcile
241. 42:43these two terrifying things and I think by just you know separating out your tasks into sacred and non-sacred peace
242. 42:54Parts might be a might be a way all right let me jump over here to the YouTube uh I don't see a spotlight there which one are you talking
243. 43:09about tell not the right but the actual threat is that organizations will try to do jobs with AI in order to retain The
244. 43:16Profit that would have been wages yes they will and Mr meanor so not to not to I'm not going to let you off off the
245. 43:27hook on just taking one side of the coin because I think there's another side to this coin yes capitalist corporations

491. 1:26:50said he should identify any professors that he's got or anyone that's AI literate and latch on to them and then rather than partying at
492. 1:26:59night what he should do is get himself a completely separate education teach himself Ai and teach himself you know
493. 1:27:07how to use it learn all of the [ __ ] that he's going to learn in all of his classes over a weekend and then take it
494. 1:27:14from there take the [ __ ] that he enjoys learning and just [ __ ] run that like that's that's what I would
495. 1:27:22recommend to kids listen no I got two upstairs that don't give a [ __ ] about it all right if you implement AI in schools it makes schools
496. 1:27:35obsolete right so you know what figure out ways to not make the school obsolete because you know what's still going to be valuable in
497. 1:27:48society is relationships and learning how to work with other people and teamwork we had two um CU Boulder
498. 1:27:56professors from the advertising school at this at this meeting and and both of them were a little tepid on AI but they
499. 1:28:04were kind of acknowledging oh it's sort of here but it's not all that good so we're fine but but the one the one woman I
500. 1:28:13think who teaches writing um she's doing a massive amount of group group activities to the point that the kids
501. 1:28:21are like could we not do a group activity like she's teaching them how to be functional social beings which seems to
502. 1:28:30be lost in the current generation so like there is still absolutely a role for universities but it's not going to
503. 1:28:37look like what it looked like before so I know and I know they're not innovators but at the same time like
504. 1:28:44they they are going to make themselves completely irrelevant I got schooled by fellow teachers when I told the kids find
505. 1:28:53creative to cheat but seriously using AI to fool me yeah and then you know what's cool about that and [ __ ] the teachers that scolded
506. 1:29:05you like yeah tell them to use AI to to get one over on you and then any student who doesn't get caught comes up to the front of the
507. 1:29:18class and tells the class how they did it right and then they get extra credit for that if if you can fool the teacher with AI
508. 1:29:29you come tell us how you did it we'll talk about that and then you'll get extra credit for that like yeah why not
509. 1:29:36that's the kind of Ingenuity and and nimbleness that is going to be required in the world four years from now it's
510. 1:29:43it's required in the world right now just no one knows it yet all right I can't generate AI can't gen generate
511. 1:29:59anything new just rehash old stuff not true not true if you understand how it
512. 1:30:15works if you actually use it it is not copying and pasting from previous documents yes it's been trained on all of the previous
513. 1:30:29documents and conceptually because this is how computers have always worked we think about data going into databases and
514. 1:30:41so what everyone says is it it can't create anything new because it's only been trained on known stuff so it can it
515. 1:30:49can only spit out known stuff it's not how it works when you put in 130,000 1hour drama television scripts into an AI embeddings
516. 1:31:07engine those scripts cease to exist they're not in there it breaks them up into individual tokens fragments
517. 1:31:17of Words which it then semantically clusters in Thousand dimensional mathematical space face and when you ask
518. 1:31:25for a new script and you say I want something kind of like friends and kind of like the Mandalorian but I want it to
519. 1:31:32be set on a boat where they get crashed like Gilligan's Island it will write you that thing and it's not copying and
520. 1:31:40pasting from those three different scripts it's actually doing in essence what a human does when you go to school you learn
521. 1:31:49about Mandalorian drama structure and you learn about friends s structure and when you were a kid you watch Gilligan's
522. 1:31:56Island and all this shit's in your brain and you're like huh hey you know it' be funny and and you pull from some bizarre
523. 1:32:06neural network in your skull those ideas and you mash them together and out comes a novel idea AI is [ __ ] awesome at that it's
524. 1:32:18incredible at it so so just parting what AI doomers have said does not make it true so anyway I I meant that AI can't invent
525. 1:32:33anything I would argue that AI can invent I would argue that it can right now it probably still requires a human
526. 1:32:46to say oo that's an interesting idea to maybe refine it but if you look at open AI is five levels of AGI we're up to
527. 1:33:00three okay the five levels of AGI so AGI is artificial general intelligence that is the point at which AI is better than
528. 1:33:09most people at most jobs this is Loosely how we're defining this across the industry level one is chat Bots we had
529. 1:33:19that two years ago level two is reasoning we got that four months ago level three is Agents so agents are
530. 1:33:27going to be things that can take action on your behalf it can go out and surf the web research [ __ ] learn it come back
531. 1:33:35and do it Google just announced a thing called Deep research that you give it a topic and it goes out and does deep research and
532. 1:33:44comes back with this synthesized thing it just goes and does it for you like think perplexity on steroids
533. 1:33:54this week probably tomorrow or next early next week open AI is going to launch operators which are autonomous
534. 1:34:01agents so we're at level three guess what level four is innovators and inventors right you combine these three
535. 1:34:13and you can do that I would argue right now if you sort of replace the agent with yourself AI can absolutely invent
536. 1:34:22because what is an invention and invention is nothing more than a human being that took knowledge in their brain
537. 1:34:27mixed some [ __ ] together came up with an insight and said huh let me try something new when we have autonomous agents it
538. 1:34:38can come up with the hypothesis and then go test it that's invention like we're there we're there all
539. 1:34:47right I don't mean to get so passionate but but like just paring talking points especially I don't I don't know your name

549. 1:36:23because if you're like well you're just a technologist and you know you don't know anything about the entertainment
550. 1:36:28business I have a fine arts degree in acting I moved to New York City out of school I started and ran a theater
551. 1:36:33company I've WR written seven screenplays um I started one of the first digital web agencies like I understand storytelling at an incredibly
552. 1:36:42deep level both on a business level and on a creative level the should it be used for entertainment is kind of like saying
553. 1:36:57should synthesizers be used instead of pianos back when they were invented should they in in the 80s should it be legal for anyone to sample
554. 1:37:08someone else's music and put that in their song should no it shouldn't according to those rules but after 20 years of litigation
555. 1:37:18and figuring out IP and who gets compensated and how you do all that well yeah now sampling is just a part of the industry AI is

564. 1:38:47it should AI be used in any way to create that I don't know it was because I haven't I haven't thought
565. 1:38:57about creating something for the theater in 25 years but I have the skill to know what to do if I have a good
566. 1:39:08idea and all of a sudden this song comes out of AI that goes huh I think this is a story that needs to be told I think it could be told in a
567. 1:39:18musical in a really powerful way that thing would not exist if it weren't for AI so like should it be used I don't
568. 1:39:32know I mean no it shouldn't if you don't if if you don't want to innovate if you don't want to here's the deal here's
569. 1:39:48okay this channel the one thing that I don't I get passionate about this stuff but the one thing that I don't
570. 1:39:56do is take sides and say you know oh it was trained on all this stuff that's fine or it was trained on all this stuff
571. 1:40:04that's not fine like I don't take sides on arguments that ultimately are not going to impact the trajectory right like there's a lot of
572. 1:40:18time and energy spent talking about well it's just thievery okay it may be it's POS like it it is absolutely a gray gray
573. 1:40:30area the more you understand how AI works the less it feels like thievery and the more it feels like an incredible
574. 1:40:37library or an Incredible Museum that we all get to tap into which is the whole purpose of libraries and museums but put
575. 1:40:45that aside let's assume it's just thievery I can be absolutely pissed off about thievery and spend the next 20
576. 1:40:52years of my life SU the [ __ ] out of everyone and AI isn't going away so what I'm choosing to do in this
577. 1:41:02channel is say Okay assuming that AI is not going to go away and assuming that it's going to get better and better and

589. 1:42:50the the ability for it to take action and vent [ __ ] and then you create a dynamic system that will generate a 100 a thousand or
590. 1:43:0610,000 autonomous employees for the company that you just started the organization that you just started so I could literally
591. 1:43:16say I love this little thing and I want to I want to take I want to take every um cute animal in a movie and I want to turn it into
592. 1:43:31little desktop things that have Bobble I I want to do bobbleheads of all these right and so I could I could I'm going to
593. 1:43:40literally be able to say to this system I want to start a business that goes and finds all the cute animals in
594. 1:43:49all the movies secures the rights for toy manufacturing designs all the bobbleheads figure figures out the
595. 1:43:58managing specs figures out the the mold designs finds factories um I don't want them where child labor might be used I I
596. 1:44:10you know here I I want them to be used ethically sourced and good people right I want to figure out how to get
597. 1:44:19them imported I want to secure a warehouse I want to come up with marketing I want to I want to create ads for every new thing and before we
598. 1:44:31manufacture an ounce of plastic I want to test the final designs with actual consumers and anything that beats a
599. 1:44:40threshold of average will go into manufacturing and anything that doesn't will not and go and it's going to go [ __ ] start a business for
600. 1:44:52you Sam Alman talked about like a year and a half ago every everyone you know Andrew Yang had talked a little bit
601. 1:45:00about Ubi Universal basic income and then people were kind of starting to talk about it again when chat gbt came

613. 1:46:42compute tokens and they're going to create 100,000 person companies and million person companies there's a bet in Silicon
614. 1:46:50Valley right now about who going to be the first single person billion doll company like we will likely see that in

621. 1:47:58hit and and this is a thing that I don't have a good head for this and I don't think most people do exponential growth is not normal we
622. 1:48:12we as humans can't comprehend it and we're about to enter a phase where the quality and capability of AI is about to just
623. 1:48:26like literally take off like one of Elon musk's [ __ ] Rockets right now we're in this flat plane where where the the improvements
624. 1:48:35are kind of linear but what's going to happen is you take reasoning and autonomous agents so you you take PhD
625. 1:48:44level problem solving and you combine that with the ability for a fake person to go test all the hypotheses that this comes up with
626. 1:48:58right so I as a scientist say hey I'm trying to cure cancer and I say to this reasoning engine I I have this idea if I mix this
627. 1:49:09this and that that there might be a novel way to attack some protein whatever whatever it is this thing because it's got PhD level reasoning
628. 1:49:18goes and solves that problem comes up with a 100 hypotheses and and then this thing the autonomous agent can go do all the testing in
629. 1:49:28simulation and then at some point we'll be able to do all the testing in a lab that cycle of a hundred simulations
630. 1:49:38100 hypotheses 100 simulations would have taken that scientist two years or four years previously and now it's going to be done in two
631. 1:49:49weeks just every every problem that needs to be solved from energy to climate to health care to Material
632. 1:49:57Science to space travel to time travel all of it is just GNA start to do that so that's that's what's coming all right

638. 1:51:01temperature up so the way a large language model works it's a predictive calculator and there's this thing called
639. 1:51:08temperature and if you turn it to zero it's 100% predictive that you write a prompt and it will say this should be
640. 1:51:16the next word and then this should be the next word or token this should be the next word right it's very it's very
641. 1:51:22predictive that way it'll be consistent time after time if you turn that temperature up to one it it makes it
642. 1:51:29more random it'll say here's a cloud of probable words and I'm going to you know um give you you know some Meandering
643. 1:51:38path through these things so in a sense it can act like it's got imagination but it's just more like you know more random than than
644. 1:51:49not but when so so one of the things that the reasoning engines are doing is they're generating an answer they're then looking at that
645. 1:51:58answer thinking about that answer giving itself another prompt so they're doing this cyclical it's called a chain Chain
646. 1:52:05of Thought reasoning this sort of over and over and over again prompting itself so we may get to the point that they
