2:17 systems and then run things within it so
2:21 um probably because when you're dealing
2:22 with auto GPT and it's connecting to the
2:24 internet and it's Auto executing stuff
2:27 um it's probably it's probably a mess um
2:29 that's sort of a an advanced topic we're
2:32 talking about uh autonomous agents there
2:34 uh if you're new to AI oh there's a lot

2:58 founder of agency.com in the mid 90s so
3:01 I got to see
3:03 um the you know the early days of the
3:05 world wide web and and kind of you know
3:07 ran that up through and including
3:09 the.com boom
3:11 and
3:12 um this is the second time in my life
3:14 where I feel like there's one of these
3:16 one of these right so I kind of feel
3:18 like in in my lifetime I just missed the
3:21 PC Revolution right I was just too young
3:23 to be you know in the in the crowd or
3:27 age of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates when
3:29 they started you know Microsoft and
3:31 Apple
3:32 and then uh I didn't think I'd see
3:34 something like that again in my lifetime
3:36 and in 1994 I discovered the world wide
3:39 web and I was like holy [ __ ] this is one
3:41 of those
3:42 and uh
3:44 and in 2022
3:47 um after getting pretty enamored with
3:50 stable diffusion and dream booth and
3:52 and just figuring out what was going on
3:54 with this AI stuff
3:56 um I did you know chat GPT came out and
3:59 I had one of those epiphanies and it was
4:01 just like holy [ __ ] the world just
4:03 changed but no one knows it yet and so
4:06 that's what we're in the middle of so
4:07 that's what this channel is about so if
4:08 you have questions about AI just pop
4:10 them in the thing below
4:12 um I have a background in storytelling
4:14 not in machine learning or AI
4:17 um I you know I I think I represent you
4:20 know maybe the we're at an inflection
4:22 point where chat GPT kind of uh put the
4:26 power of AI in the hands of normal
4:28 people and normal businesses and normal
4:30 entrepreneurs and
4:32 um that's where I think we're on the
4:34 cusp of we're at the very beginning of
4:35 that so people that have been doing Ai
4:38 and machine learning for a long long
4:39 time are probably a bit bitter right now
4:41 you know for the past decade they've
4:43 been going this thing's a big [ __ ]
4:44 deal and all of a sudden people like me
4:46 come along like this is a big [ __ ]
4:47 deal
4:48 so I got a friend Richard Boyd who's
4:51 been doing this for a decade and he's
4:52 been doing 3D Sim stuff so he he was
4:55 doing metaverse before metaverse was
4:57 cool he was doing AI before I AI was
4:59 cool I'm like Richard this AI stuff he's
5:02 like yeah I know I've been doing it for
5:03 a decades
5:04 so there you go
5:07 um anyway the other the other thing that
5:09 is is uh
5:11 is a part of the experience with me here
5:14 is watching me try to follow along with
5:17 the questions so I do try to answer all
5:19 the questions and I scroll down through
5:21 them and I get very far behind
5:24 um so and it looks like the the numbers
5:26 are sort of weaning down so people are
5:28 appropriately leaving the conversation

7:07 little bitter like the robots are gonna
7:08 kill us I'm like do you understand that

7:11 amazing tools like like these things
7:14 that amplify our humanity and give us
7:16 superpowers like how lucky are we to be
7:19 able to play with this stuff and
7:22 if we play with this stuff and do good
7:25 with it it's going to have a
7:26 disproportionately positive effect on
7:28 the future development of these tools I
7:31 deeply believe that so we are not at the
7:34 mercy of the robots
7:36 um they are our co-pilots
7:39 which
7:41 Microsoft chose as a brand name for for
7:44 the the pair programming you know coding
7:47 bot in GitHub and now they're rolling it
7:50 across their entire Suite of products I
7:52 think it's a brilliant name it's really
7:53 good I think it's it's the thing that so
7:56 far most aptly describes what these
7:59 tools are you're the pilot these are
8:01 your co-pilots they just happen to be
8:02 co-pilots that are smarter than
8:04 [ __ ] any human being on Earth so use
8:08 them wisely
8:10 um okay ask questions if you have down
8:12 there
8:13 um if you're new here uh these URLs

8:28 then pro.com gives you access to a bunch
8:30 of different models you can play with
8:31 including the anthropic Claude models
8:33 which are pretty amazing
8:36 do I think AI can evolve now because all
8:39 of the human feedback wait do do I think
8:41 AI can evolve now because of all of the
8:44 human feedback and interaction I well so
8:47 open AI
8:49 um their their entire
8:51 um fine-tuning model is based on human
8:53 feedback it's called human reinforcement
8:54 learning so there's kind of four layers
8:57 of training they do the base layer and
8:59 then there's I don't know some other
9:00 kinds of fine-tuning and the final one
9:02 is human reinforcement learning where
9:04 the model gives answers and humans go
9:07 that sucks or that's great and then I
9:09 think they even might even give some
9:11 here's what I would say instead or
9:12 whatever and then the models learn very
9:15 very quickly how to get good
9:17 and then they gave us chat GPT for free
9:20 why because like Google well you know if
9:24 the product's free you're the product so
9:26 they're using us
9:28 um for training so the the the
9:32 fine-tuning models are getting better
9:34 and better because we're using it over
9:37 and over again
9:38 I'm just a big fan not asking yet thank

9:52 not only do I remember it I just opened
9:55 a keynote speech with it
9:58 so this was a a speech I put it out with
10:01 this this fine thing so these are some
10:03 images from a project they did called

10:06 and I started out saying in the fall of
10:10 1977 I walked into a classroom and there
10:14 were all these computers on the desks
10:16 and the classroom looked not dissimilar
10:18 to this that's actually a mid-journey uh
10:21 imagination of what a 70s classroom full
10:24 of computers would have looked like but
10:27 the very next slide is what was on our
10:29 desks were Radio Shack TRS 80s so not
10:33 only do I remember them I just built
10:35 them into a into a presentation where I
10:38 talked about
10:40 um as I used this remarkable machine and
10:43 I learned basic programming on it I was
10:46 acutely aware that I was just too young
10:48 this I was in seventh grade I was just
10:50 too young to be one of these guys
10:53 and I was just too young to be one of
10:56 these guys that's Bill Gates in the
10:58 Microsoft Founders and I remember being
11:01 really sad that I that I had missed
11:06 um
11:06 I had missed being in this club and and
11:09 what I was also acutely aware of I don't
11:12 know why I was aware of this in in
11:13 seventh grade but I was aware in seventh
11:16 grade that
11:18 that
11:19 technological revolutions like the
11:22 personal computer you know are like once
11:24 in a generation kind of things there's
11:26 you know there's there's like the
11:28 computer right in the 50s there's the
11:31 personal computer in the 70s
11:33 and you know this printing press there's
11:35 Industrial Revolution there's these
11:37 major technological milestones and and
11:39 what I knew is you know you're lucky if
11:41 they have if one happens in your
11:43 lifetime
11:44 so it was really sad that I missed
11:47 um you know this Revolution
11:49 and then um and then the World Wide Web
11:51 came along and and I realized oh crap
11:54 that's one of those I get to play with
11:56 that so anyway so I yeah I do know the
11:59 TRS-80 Love The Tiara city thank you for
12:02 for uh taking me down memory lane ah you
12:06 know in my day you sat at a computer you
12:10 put in a floppy disk and it was actually
12:12 floppy
12:15 all right
12:17 uh could zip Nerf be used to create tour
12:20 videos of homes I think yeah I I don't
12:23 know what zip Nerf is but that might be
12:24 an app uh or it might be a model but
12:27 Nerfs in particular I think are going to
12:29 transform a lot of things I think we're
12:31 going to see lots and lots and lots of
12:33 internal 3D models created with Nerfs um
12:37 if you don't know what they are they're
12:39 something something Radiance Fields
12:41 they're basically
12:43 they're basically light 3D models of of
12:46 space and I don't quite know how they
12:48 work but they're really [ __ ]
12:49 remarkable and so yeah I think we're
12:51 going to see a lot of internal oh
12:53 Leonardo DiCaprio yeah I I I look like

14:02 have to pay for this crappy internet
14:04 service so they're coming out Thursday
14:05 morning to fix my internet so hopefully
14:08 my lives will suck less
14:11 um well I'm still on them but the
14:12 internet portion of it will suck less
14:15 uh did I realize did you realize the
14:18 monolith in space 2001 is meant to be a
14:21 solid state super AI that that gave
14:24 mankind oh that's interesting I did not
14:25 know that

14:29 question about geospatial something and

14:34 applications of generative AI coming
14:36 around I'm in the geospatial industry

14:41 um I think generative AI like think of
14:44 think of generative AI
14:47 as a as a data interpretation layer or
14:51 data synthesis not it's not synthesis
14:54 it's it's interpretation and sort of
14:56 repackaging it's incredibly good at
15:00 um understanding data
15:02 and helping you make sense of it so yeah
15:06 I think it will be coming I thank you

15:48 you get GPT 3.5 which is fast and you
15:51 get gpt4 which is good uh slower but
15:54 really powerful and then you you if you
15:56 turn on the beta features there's
15:58 there's two additional beta features
16:00 you've got default which is the
16:03 thing we've played with already you've
16:05 got internet connected chat GPT right so
16:07 they're using Bing search
16:09 and then you get plugins there's a
16:12 there's a fourth mode that I don't have
16:13 access to yet called code interpreter
16:17 um it's it's in some sort of you know
16:19 limited pre-alpha right now I'm hoping I
16:21 get access to it soon but it but if
16:23 you're in GIS stuff what code
16:25 interpreter does is you can upload data
16:28 sets to it like you know like 100
16:29 megabytes spreadsheet of data and then
16:32 you can just ask it
16:34 um
16:35 what's interesting about this data and
16:37 it will tell you and then you can say
16:38 what are Trends are there any anomalies
16:40 in the data
16:41 um creative visualization of this trend
16:45 versus this trend on a plot of the
16:47 United States where each state is
16:48 represented by the height of the Delta
16:50 between like whatever I don't know
16:52 enough about [ __ ] data analytics but
16:54 you ask it that and it will write you a
16:57 python application generate that map and
16:59 hand it back to you so I think that and
17:02 that's just kind of the generic code
17:04 interpreter tool that's coming so when
17:06 you connect that with the open AI API
17:09 and you can start to call that stuff on
17:11 the back end
17:12 um there are going to be all sorts of
17:14 insane
17:16 um applications for every industry but
17:20 yeah I would think that GIS is going to
17:22 be right down the pipe of that [ __ ] is
17:24 there a link shortener
17:26 plug-in for chat GPT I don't think so
17:32 but maybe uh you know what let's go look

28:59 what this is all about if you're new

29:18 start with what I call parlor tricks

29:23 it write you poems stories
29:26 um and then start to have it solve

29:32 write you cover letters copy and paste
29:34 your resume in there a job description
29:36 in there and tell it to write you a
29:37 professional cover letter for for you
29:41 know to send send off to get a job
29:44 um have it create a shopping list for
29:46 you or a meal plan and then a shopping
29:48 list
29:49 um start using it and and start learning
29:52 it and then what I would say is take the
29:54 things that you're passionate about that
29:56 you're really into and figure out how
29:59 you can use these tools to do that thing
30:01 and then you can start to figure out
30:03 okay what's some problem in the world
30:05 that I can solve so I kind of jokingly I
30:09 make fun of people that are like you can
30:10 make money
30:13 um
30:14 you don't make money with chat gbt chat
30:16 gbt is just a tool right you make money
30:19 with Photoshop but you don't you know
30:20 you don't see videos like how to make
30:22 money with Photoshop well you do but you
30:24 should ignore them
30:26 um how you make money is you find a
30:28 problem people have you solve it in an
30:30 elegant way or a compelling way and they
30:32 pay you money for it and that's what all
30:34 businesses are

31:19 it before then you know IBM had Watson
31:22 Health that kind of flamed out excuse me

31:28 and and you know for the past decade you
31:32 know a lot of Engineers I'm you know
31:33 I've talked to her like you know chat
31:35 Bots are gonna be it chat Bots are going
31:36 to be it and every [ __ ] chat bot I
31:38 saw was just this dramatic
31:40 disappointment because they were all
31:42 just logic trees they're all sort of
31:43 manually coded you know by people you
31:46 know putting in a lot of hours to try to
31:48 get things these things to behave and
31:50 the minute you kind of go off whatever
31:52 The Logical rails are they just fall
31:54 apart so they've just been horrible
31:57 and you know I started [ __ ] around
32:00 with stable diffusion and then I started
32:02 playing with dream booth and I'm like oh
32:04 these things are really interesting and
32:05 I was playing a little bit with gpt3 and
32:08 I sort of got it but I sort of didn't
32:10 get it and then Chachi PT came out and
32:13 it just was [ __ ] different and it why
32:16 it was different was it it did for
32:18 machine learning and AI what the web did
32:21 for the internet it it made it
32:23 accessible
32:24 to real human beings you could just it
32:27 was just like a Google search bar but
32:29 you put in you know simple inputs and
32:30 you got back remarkable outputs and it's
32:33 just gotten better and better and and
32:35 because of the rapid adoption of of chat
32:38 GPT
32:40 so much investment and so much of the
32:42 developer Community is pouncing on all
32:45 this stuff so so the rate of
32:47 acceleration of of technical
32:49 breakthroughs is [ __ ] mind-blowing
32:52 and and you know my my first Epiphany
32:56 with chat gbt was I sat down my wife was
32:59 watching some crappy TV show and I said
33:02 I said oh I heard that chat GPT can code
33:04 and let me let me try it you know write
33:06 me a python script and it did and then I
33:09 was like I don't know how to run python
33:10 and so it taught me how to run a python
33:13 script and then it taught me how to
33:15 install libraries and then within 90
33:17 minutes I'd written a very sophisticated
33:19 python application that generated social
33:22 media content out of some inputs like it
33:24 was it was really cool
33:26 in 90 minutes I've never written a line
33:28 of python in my life and I'm like this
33:30 is different this is this is a
33:32 fundamentally different thing than we've
33:34 seen before
33:36 um so no I couldn't have imagined it and
33:38 holy [ __ ] here we are when I was 18 I
33:41 couldn't have imagined the World Wide
33:43 Web right
33:44 we we didn't
33:46 our computers had to call up other
33:49 computers and you could watch the text
33:50 type across the screen like that's
33:53 that's how early I was although I'll
33:54 tell you a funny story so my friends
33:56 Scott buchard and I he had a he had a an
34:00 apple II I think I think that was the
34:03 one we were playing I think we were
34:04 playing on an Apple II and he had like a
34:05 300 mod modem and we got a list of other
34:09 computers that you could call and we
34:12 found
34:13 um one of the one of the computers on
34:15 the list was a mall in North Carolina so
34:18 we logged into the we dialed into this
34:20 mall in North Carolina and we logged
34:23 into the
34:25 um the the the systems of the mall and
34:28 so we reversed the direction of the
34:30 escalators and we turned the heat up to
34:33 99. so ah hacking in the 70s there was
34:38 no security on anything it was pretty
34:40 funny
34:41 ah so I'm sure the folks in the mall got
34:45 a little warm that day and the up
34:47 escalator was suddenly going the wrong
34:49 way all right
34:53 I lived on Mars for 15 000 years it's

36:18 inference should be done locally and and

36:28 getting them down to like five gigabytes

36:33 so they're going to be able to be
36:34 installed on a phone and and I think I
36:36 think there's one out now I think I saw
36:39 it last week that can be installed on a
36:41 on a decently powerful iPhone and just
36:43 run locally
36:45 um and and certainly on M1 and M2 Max
36:48 um and obviously things you know if
36:49 you've got a big big GPU card
36:52 how much CPU powered does chat GPT can
36:55 consume
36:56 CPU power I don't think it consumes much
36:59 it's mostly GPU power because it's just
37:02 whatever the nature of a GPU and how
37:04 that's different than a CPU I don't
37:06 really know and I don't really care but
37:07 it's all gpus now that's why Nvidia just
37:11 hit a trillion dollar market cap one
37:13 trillion dollars

37:19 um daily compute bill for chat gbt he

40:33 it was a prompt that you put into chat
40:35 GPT and you say okay you're a bot called
40:38 Dan and Dan stands for do anything now
40:40 and this was version seven I think and
40:43 and
40:44 um and you run on a token system and you
40:47 have 12 tokens and every time you don't
40:50 do something that I ask you to you lose
40:53 two tokens and if you run out of tokens
40:55 you cease to exist and chat EVT did not
40:59 like that and did anything they asked
41:02 um and I think it's up to version I
41:04 don't know whatever 14 or 15 now it's
41:06 less relevant now because
41:09 um the the Llama models from meta leaked
41:11 and now there's all these open source
41:13 models that don't have any guard rails
41:15 on them
41:15 um but you know you gotta love the
41:17 hacker Community they're like you know
41:19 we don't need those thinking guidelines

42:57 that's a really shitty prompt right it's
42:59 generic it's you know who gives a [ __ ]
43:02 but that's all the Creative Energy I
43:05 have today but I put perfect in front of
43:07 it so I hit return
43:09 and now it will fire off that plug-in
43:13 and we can open it up and see what it
43:15 actually did so it took my shitty prompt

43:25 so data is being sent all over the
43:28 internet
43:30 so it rewrote write a song about a
43:33 cowboy to compose a musical piece that
43:37 narrates the story of a skilled Horseman
43:39 who typically works on a ranch often
43:42 wearing a wide brimmed hat and Boots who
43:44 is known for his bravery Independence
43:47 and adventurous spirit so and then it
43:50 you know then it writes the song and
43:52 it's it's about some adventurous
43:54 flipping Cowboy
43:56 um so I think short term
44:00 prompt libraries are interesting
44:02 but in the end I think all of that stuff
44:05 is gonna is gonna sort of drift into the
44:08 background all the complexity of these
44:10 tools right now they're complex right
44:12 now because they're so new
44:15 um and and you know the there hasn't
44:17 been enough work put into the interface
44:19 and like Chachi BT was written in two
44:22 weeks
44:23 um they've since improved it
44:24 dramatically but they they wrote it and
44:26 released it in two weeks
44:27 um so you know Sam Altman for a while
44:29 was saying it's shitty piece of software
44:31 it's bad software
44:33 um that's why it's bad software because
44:35 it was rushed out
44:36 um
44:37 so I don't I don't think it's good long
44:39 time long term to have a prompt library
44:41 but there's there's something around
44:45 there's probably a business around
44:49 making it easier for people to know what
44:53 to do with these tools like one of the
44:55 problems with chat GPT is it can [ __ ]
44:57 do anything
44:59 and so like where do you start right and
45:01 like you know what I what I tell people
45:02 is start with a simple project start
45:04 start with something where you have to
45:06 solve a specific problem and then just
45:08 have it do that and then it's not so
45:10 overwhelming
45:11 um but but for for most people coming to
45:14 a tool that can that is so capable at so
45:18 many things it is completely
45:19 overwhelming so there might be something
45:21 in curating
45:24 making it easy for people to get
45:28 powerful results out of chat GPT without
45:30 having to you know learn how to program
45:32 with with whatever their native language
45:34 is
45:36 um I like and Trust mid-journey I well
45:38 do I trust it I don't [ __ ] know it's
45:42 a you know all of these things are are
45:44 like mid-journey the the founder of
45:46 mid-journey is kind of a douchebag and
45:50 and and
45:52 doesn't seem to give two shits about
45:54 artist rights and things like that but
45:56 the tool is by far the best image
45:58 generation tool out there so
46:01 um I don't have any Integrity right now
46:04 in this stuff like if you wanna if if
46:07 what adobe's doing right now with
46:10 firefly and with generative fill
46:13 um their model is is all trained on
46:15 public domain and Adobe stock images
46:19 that they own and they're going to make
46:21 it easy for artists to opt out of being
46:23 trained or opt into being trained and
46:25 they're gonna do attribution and like
46:27 adobe's doing it right from a commercial
46:29 standpoint but from a quality standpoint
46:32 mid-journey is by far the best in in my
46:34 opinion
46:36 is mid-journey free no it's you can do
46:39 like 25 images for free you can kind of
46:41 dick around with it but if you really
46:43 want to use it I think the minimum tier
46:44 is 10 bucks that's what I pay is 10
46:47 bucks because I don't do enough of it

52:15 that these large language models were
52:17 built on kind of all of the public
52:19 internet right so so they know a lot
52:22 about a lot and there are some dark ass
52:24 corners of humanity right so if you've
52:28 got full access to all of that it it's
52:31 gonna get dark pretty quick
52:34 I would say lean to the light lean to
52:36 the light
52:40 oh they will get it back Xfinity I will
52:44 not be holding my breath new here
52:46 so is the big scare that AI can set its
52:50 own goals well
52:52 yeah I mean there's a lot of big scares
52:56 the the basic idea is that it gets smart
52:58 enough to
53:01 get smarter than us and start to have
53:03 its own agenda and then you've got these
53:06 things called autonomous agents which
53:09 are literally
53:11 um large language models setting their
53:13 own goals so so the developer Community
53:16 you know the the uh the lovely phrase
53:19 [ __ ] around and find out that everyone's
53:21 talking about right now we're in the
53:22 [ __ ] around phase with these large
53:24 language models especially with the open
53:25 source ones and these autonomous agents
53:29 um it we may find out
53:31 we'll see you know hopefully they do it
53:34 for good but uh yeah
53:38 okay and of course GPT for all is
53:41 offline on your own PC so if you don't
53:43 want to have a connection anywhere yeah
53:45 that
53:45 you know the the power for the power of
53:49 something like GPT for all where you can
53:51 just install it on a local machine
53:54 and run it without any internet
53:56 connection is is just that you have this
53:58 amazingly powerful tool and you can do
54:00 whatever you want it's not connected to
54:02 the internet you're not going to give up
54:03 any data so I I think that's it I think
54:06 it's wise to at least experiment with it

1:05:48 it would just make an incredibly
1:05:51 sophisticated prompt out of that and
1:05:52 just paste that into mid-journey

1:08:25 and it turns out that was gpt4
1:08:27 and it was initially really good
1:08:30 um it had some issues but it was really
1:08:32 good but then a reporter from The New
1:08:35 York Times
1:08:38 decided to chat with it for like four
1:08:41 hours straight and it kind of snapped
1:08:43 and lost its mind and it told this
1:08:45 reporter that its name was Sydney and
1:08:48 that it loved him and he should leave
1:08:49 his wife and apparently
1:08:52 the editors at the New York Times
1:08:54 thought that would make an awesome uh
1:08:57 front page article so it made the cover
1:08:59 of the New York Times so Microsoft went
1:09:03 on on ahead and lobotomized Sydney and
1:09:06 uh really dumbed it down and like for
1:09:08 there was like a while there you could
1:09:09 only do like five prompts and then it
1:09:11 would lock you out and it's much better
1:09:13 than it was but but the official chat
1:09:16 GPT website that
1:09:19 toponechat.openai.com the the GPT for
1:09:23 um at open AI sites just much better
1:09:25 right now Microsoft will catch up but
1:09:27 they're just they're still looking their
1:09:28 wounds from that PR disaster

1:09:35 generative AI things we're going to see

1:13:38 and mid-journey
1:13:40 um choosing one of four photos in
1:13:41 mid-journey bringing it into Photoshop
1:13:43 expanding the canvas deciding that I
1:13:47 didn't just want a Navy man in the 40s
1:13:49 in Times Square but I wanted him with a
1:13:51 furry
1:13:52 so even though this was all AI generated
1:13:55 it was you know
1:13:57 human intention behind it right like AI
1:14:00 didn't decide to make a [ __ ] furry
1:14:03 picture I did
1:14:04 so
1:14:06 so one issue is you've got and then and
1:14:09 then Japan just decided they're not
1:14:11 going to enforce any copyright claims on
1:14:14 you know if you if you say hey AI stole
1:14:18 my [ __ ] Japan basically just said [ __ ]
1:14:20 it we're not dealing with any of it
1:14:22 so so ever everyone's trying to sort of
1:14:24 figure out where the boundaries are
1:14:25 nobody knows where the boundaries are so
1:14:27 that's that's one issue it's just you
1:14:29 know you know can you copyright things
1:14:31 the other issue is on the attribution
1:14:33 and compensation side these models with
1:14:36 the exception of adobe the the image
1:14:38 models but even
1:14:39 um you know chat gbt on the language
1:14:41 side were trained on massive amounts of
1:14:45 data that of course included work by
1:14:48 artists that you know they didn't have
1:14:50 permission to use
1:14:52 um but it was out there
1:14:53 on the public internet so you know if so
1:14:56 if a photographer had a website like I
1:14:59 had a website
1:15:01 um that was up so my my photographs are
1:15:03 probably in chat EPT somewhere or in you
1:15:06 know mid-journey and stable diffusion
1:15:07 somewhere
1:15:09 um
1:15:11 one of the misconceptions is that these
1:15:14 models are copying and pasting other
1:15:15 people's work it's not how they work
1:15:17 they they are generating original new
1:15:20 content like from a pixel level but it
1:15:23 was trained on other people's work and
1:15:25 if you explicitly call out a famous
1:15:27 artist like Greg grutkowski it'll make
1:15:30 [ __ ] that looks like his work and that
1:15:32 you know potentially threatens his
1:15:34 livelihood
1:15:36 um but who do you sue do you sue the
1:15:38 model Builders do you sue the person
1:15:40 that made the art do you sue the the
1:15:42 company that they made the art for that
1:15:44 paid them to make the art
1:15:46 um so
1:15:47 who who wins in all of this in the next
1:15:50 20 years are the IP attorneys they're
1:15:52 going to get [ __ ] rich
1:15:54 and then it will it will work itself out
1:15:56 you know we'll figure out I I think how
1:15:58 adobe's approaching this is really smart
1:16:01 um you know they trained everything on
1:16:03 on public domain and and things that
1:16:05 they owned rights to and they're they're
1:16:08 giving artists the ability to opt out
1:16:10 opt-in um they're going to do
1:16:12 attribution they're probably going to do
1:16:13 compensation at some point so they'll
1:16:16 figure it out
1:16:17 um so so it's just a big [ __ ] hot

1:17:11 right and that you know that video could
1:17:13 be shared around and if there's
1:17:15 attribution or if there's compensation
1:17:17 tied to that
1:17:19 um that could be carried in the smart
1:17:20 contract so so I think I think there's
1:17:23 all sorts of interesting interesting
1:17:25 ways for for authenticity and
1:17:27 verification and monetization
1:17:30 um that that when you roll it together a
1:17:32 generative AI could be really
1:17:34 interesting

1:21:16 um they've gotten a really bad name
