21. 4:15Friday and uh and it it was pretty interesting learn learned some interesting things about it Tobias and farmer are here welcome

28. 5:32some of the folks that I that I you know work with or you know or are you know sort of colleagues with now that are the
29. 5:39most into this are the ones that were the most afraid of it or the most hostile toward it and and then they tried it and so you
30. 5:49know I would not try hard to convert anyone um because this isn't [ __ ] religion but but you know what I would what I would say is
31. 6:03um if you can understand who someone is and what they're interested in and you can just say well here's some [ __ ] I did
32. 6:09here and just get them curious about it and let them try it I mean it it really is one of those things where I think
33. 6:16every person kind of has to have their their own Kevin McAllister moment right this moment of like you know the moment
34. 6:23that you obviously had right if you're like trying to tell people particularly if you've got creative friends artists
35. 6:29writers things like that I have a a pile of people that I used to do theater with that are just they were [ __ ] weird
36. 6:39when I was getting into the worldwide web in the mid90s and they're weird with this AI [ __ ] and it's just you know
37. 6:45that's just that's just the way it is and and like where I've gotten is like well I'll find my own [ __ ] weirdos so let's let's jump into
38. 6:55um let's jump into where to start with this stuff and then and then I'll I'll talk a little bit about that because
39. 7:02like I get I get the frustration trying to talk to people about it and you're like but it's amazing and they're like
40. 7:07it's going to kill us I hate it it's evil it steals you're an [ __ ] so so those aren't your people right now you
41. 7:14need to find other weirdos so so I'll tell you um toast post we'll start we'll start at the end here where I normally
42. 7:22end so the AI Salon that the uh the salon. a is the is the link tree to it but it's the AI Salon um this is a community I
43. 7:33started um last December so it's coming up on a year so we have a Discord server you can hang out you can do mid Journey
44. 7:40images you can ask questions post [ __ ] um it's fun and then we meet every other week so our next meeting is this coming
45. 7:50Tuesday and um and it's cool and it's it's full of people that digital agencies and then I didn't think in my
46. 7:59lifetime there would be another thing as profound as the worldwide web and Along Comes this [ __ ] so I am I am in the middle of a a a
47. 8:10second personal coming uh just recognizing how lucky we are to be at the beginning of something like what's
48. 8:18going on with generative AI um so if you're new to it and haven't played with it I strongly encourage you go there
49. 8:26just that top one chat. open.com just go there right now don't wait don't be like I'll get to it tomorrow no no here's the
50. 8:34deal you don't need to be technical it's like as simple as a Google box you're on Tik Tok if you figured out how to scroll
51. 8:40in Tik Tok doing [ __ ] here is easier than that Tik tok's a horrible interface there's just too much [ __ ] on it this
52. 8:48thing's just a box you put words in it so go there and ask it to do [ __ ] ask it to write you a song ask it to write you
53. 8:57a poem ask it to write you a project project plan ask it to come up with a a meal uh set of recipes for your family
54. 9:06for the week using certain ingredients and just go see what it does just go start playing while while you listen to me
55. 9:14ramble what' you do Friday night I don't know I kind of listen to some old guy ramble about AI why would you do that I don't
56. 9:24know have you tried AI well I have now because he told me to you listen to him so just do it it's the worst that could
57. 9:32[ __ ] happen people make fun of you toast post is is getting all sorts of push back he's still going he's he's he's nearly
58. 9:43broken but just go there and then if you've used some of these things here these are the top four these are the
59. 9:48ones that I think are worth paying attention to for the next year or two or three these ones are going to be around
60. 9:56first one's chat GPT the second one's Google that's going to get much better in a couple of weeks when they launch
61. 10:01gemini or however many weeks I don't know they have intimated that it's going to be soon and open aai has a big
62. 10:08developer conference November 6 so my suspicion is they'll launch something to try to [ __ ] that up because that's how
63. 10:13big companies do it they're like [ __ ] you no [ __ ] you and then Claude that's a big competitor to open AI it's a it's a
64. 10:22a number of exop aai employees that founded it they just got $4 billion from Amazon and then Bing down there that's
65. 10:29Microsoft they invested $1 billion in open AI so so these are some biggies these are the players these are the
66. 10:36players now who's that's the adults table here's the Kids Table no slouch right here piie if you get the IOS app of Pi
67. 10:48Pi put it into voice mode and start talking to your AI it's mind-blowing it's wild it's not good at all if you
68. 10:55want to get [ __ ] done like on the computer like the website version if you're like trying to do something like chat it's not good for
69. 11:03that but if you want to talk to one of these things it's really good at that um perplexity AI is really good good for
70. 11:11research labs. perplexity is a free hosting of meta's llama 2 models they're free models and then PO is a really
71. 11:21interesting sort of hybrid Beast where you can play with different models you can make robots ah I got my llama thank you Winston
72. 11:29I I love me some llama llama's tasty I like llama llama llama um so yeah so pose interesting all right
73. 11:42um what else is interesting you're like but Kyle can't we make pictures yeah you can make pictures here's your picture makers um
74. 11:52bing.com create that's actually Dolly 3 now the quality of image creation at Bing went from like nonusable crap to really good um Mid
75. 12:03Journey if you want high quality images is kind of the best in terms of quality of art um dolly3 which I'll I'll demo in
76. 12:13a bit inside chat GPT cuz I have I got access to it cuz I don't know well cuz uh uh retr Punk got me a little uh a little form to
77. 12:24fill out and I got access to it so thank you retr punk for that but um it can do I I experimented with this this
78. 12:35afternoon you can put a bunch of very specific things in a prompt and it will include them in the image it's it's
79. 12:42really quite quite remarkable that way it also does text ideagen fill in Photoshop from Adobe are both good they have not been trained on
80. 12:58on copy written images so if you work for a company use the Adobe [ __ ] it'll be safer just from a you know the
81. 13:06lawyers and Executives breathing down your ass um and then the other one that's not on here that I I should probably put on here is Leonardo
82. 13:15doai as in Leonardo da Vinci so those are those here are the video ones Runway ml is the top one haen um the video translate tool on haen
83. 13:28again is truly remarkable um Skybox blockade Labs is text to 3D worlds and then did is synthesized voice and animated pitches so screenshot
84. 13:42that come on go ahead screenshot it screen you can do it you can do it and then these are just um resources so future pedia iio and
85. 13:55there's an AI for that are directories then Ethan mullik David Shapiro and Paul rer are people that I think we should
86. 14:05all be following well by we I mean anyone interested in this [ __ ] if you want to understand how this is going to
87. 14:12impact work or what the future looks like or how to deal with this in a company all these guys have very
88. 14:18interesting things to contribute all right I I all right good um trying to think what else I think that's it that's it that's it now let's

94. 15:34says I'll try to create that so now it's going to make it and there they are the glass itself is smoking your sir sir your Whiskey's
95. 15:48on fire put it out quick drink [Laughter] it I didn't I didn't mean for the bar to be on fire I just want it to be like
96. 16:04hazy it's like it's like the art director was High um but anyway pretty good stuff all right so let's go back out um go back out here let's

106. 18:11that that's so cool so so that's Dolly 3 in bing for free so you can just go there so if you go to bing.com create
107. 18:20that's the um the just the pure image Creator tool but you can also in Bing chat just do that so I'm going to go to
108. 18:33create the downside of using Bing is that the safety guard rails on it are pretty pretty egregious okay so that's
109. 18:42that one so now what we're going to do is we're going to hop over to chat JPay you can make money with chat [Laughter]
110. 18:52J and we're going to do a new chat so here we are at chat J and let me see if I got access to upload images yet not yet there's still
111. 19:04some [ __ ] I don't have access to and that's one of them I think that's the only thing I don't have access to so
112. 19:09anyway so look browse with Bing is back so if you don't see this in your gp4 go to your settings and go to Beta features
113. 19:18and and see if this is available there you might have to turn it on so we got regular chat GPT that's going to have
114. 19:25Vision soon for all of us I don't have that yet browse with Bing connects chat GPT to the internet Advanced Data analysis this
115. 19:33used to be called code interpreter it's [ __ ] remarkable plugins are Hit or Miss but there's some good ones that
116. 19:40make it at least worth learning about and then Dolly 3 is really quite remarkable so let's play with some Dolly 3
117. 19:50stuff um all right so so one thing that I discovered this afternoon and this is in the um this is in the the announcement of doll 3 is that
118. 20:07it's really good at at prompt coherence I think is what they called it basically meaning if you mention a lot of things
119. 20:16in um in your prompt it's good at putting them together all right so what are we going to do here we're going to go
120. 20:32create an image of a large blueprint on a drafting table near a window with sun shining down on it period within the
121. 20:48drawing are technical sketches of a drill an oil can an electrical plug a credit
122. 21:04card a bottle of Windex a Staples easy button and an Apple Magic Mouse I have no idea how good this is
123. 21:18going to go and if you're wondering Kyle that sounds like [ __ ] that's on your desk you'd be correct Jim Ross been playing with dolly for a
124. 21:30few hours tonight holy hell crazy EXA I know it's wild oh so anyway so so check out what this did so I wrote The Prompt
125. 21:38up here right and then it re it wrote four different prompts right so photo of a large blueprint spread out on a wooden
126. 21:46grafting table and then it put all the stuff that I have there um there we go so let's look at how we
127. 21:57did there's the Windex it's this is this is Windex red I don't you probably don't know Windex red that's just that's just because
128. 22:07you're a loser everybody knows Windex red who's who's in the thank you Tyler if you don't know Windex red you just
129. 22:15you don't know window cleaning um there's our drill there's our iPhone what else did I say an oil can is there an oil can no
130. 22:28there's an iPhone being charged over there but that's pretty slick okay so there's the Magic Mouse it's it's a sort
131. 22:39of 2001 Magic Mouse it's not it's it's still got the scroll wheel in it um that's sort of an oil can there's the
132. 22:48drill there's the Windex there's the credit card that's the easy button it didn't it doesn't quite know what a a Staples easy
133. 22:57button is is but that's okay and actually look how good the uh this Apple keyboard is with the exception of that's
134. 23:06not the shape of the return key on an Apple keyboard but that's pretty slick um and notice I asked for a window
135. 23:13with the light streaming in on it so that's happening so that's pretty cool so now so if I say um
136. 23:28I really like those conceptually but I wanted the blueprint to have that classic blueprint color can you adjust it so it looks more
137. 23:43authentic and then it just basically just fires that off as a plugin and then writes its own prompts and what what I find remarkable
138. 23:54about this is this this feels essentially exactly like working with an art director like this is what it's like to work with an
139. 24:03art director except you with an art director you give them these notes and then they go away for an hour or two or
140. 24:10a day or two or a week or two and then they come back with with a round you're like well no that wasn't quite right and
141. 24:16then right and so now we have blueprints that are actually blue um can I zoom in on this no they're not really blueprints but
142. 24:30they're they're kind of cool they're kind of stylized blueprints aren't they like that would make a really interesting ad [Music]
143. 24:51um this is great I'd like this to be a magazine ad where the headline is designing products for everyday life
144. 25:13period Please incorporate that as if it were a magazine headline on top of the image let's see let's see let's how

154. 27:32period I want you to act as an awardwinning creative director and come up with five Creative Marketing
155. 27:44strategies in a single short paragraph each period I don't want you to visualize anything yet I just want you to give me
156. 27:55ideas and then we can talk about how to bring them to life period so the so the thing I've been messing around with is you know can you
157. 28:05get chat GPT to actually give you ideas come up with creative ideas then you pick one then you start you know sort of
158. 28:13honing down on the idea then you start visualizing it right because what it's doing is it's making these im images in
159. 28:22the context of this larger conversation which I find mindblowing there's a there there's a lot of debauchery going on in the the
160. 28:33Irregulars channel in the salon Discord right now there there are some substance abusing llamas and turtles that I think
161. 28:41may need to go to a meeting soon okay let's see nuts and bolts Academy host a series of free online workshops Tinker Tales launch a

170. 30:32bolts being used in a project so again what I'm not having to do here is think at all about like what camera lens do I want to
171. 30:48use and what elements do I want in there I can I can just let chat GPT use its language skills to come up with [ __ ] so

173. 31:04shiny nuts and bolts the headline prominently displays unscrew the ordinary with the subhead Showcase your
174. 31:11creative genius today holy [ __ ] these are good Jesus I mean come on come on people are you kidding me like I mean is
175. 31:22it perfect no but like if you just want to do conceptualization what did that take us like two minutes unscrew the ordinary not quite
176. 31:32spelled right but like that's a compelling image that's that's a little disturbing but cool I guess the kid's legs are under the the
177. 31:45[Laughter] engine I don't know why I don't know why okay so let's let's let's give chat GPT some some creative feedback here like okay
178. 32:00normally nuts and bolts are more associated with metal projects than wood projects period can we keep the same basic idea
179. 32:13but have the projects look like 1950s sci-fi using nuts and bolts period so the creative director came
180. 32:26back with these you know mood boards or whatever we're like nah it's there too much wood we want there to be more
181. 32:34metal like you can be a shitty C you can be a shitty client with chat gbt and it's just like I mean that's the thing
182. 32:41about chat gbt is like it's the golden retriever of creative Partners like it won't get pissed off at you it won't
183. 32:48take it personally that you hate it stupid wood commercials you're like I want metal commercials unscrew
184. 33:02that's that's actually that's actually a much better headline than unscrew the ordinary unscrew people would just stop at that

192. 34:42um we started out innocently enough you know a turtle having a having a drink and then and then there's the oops the turtle smoker it's
193. 34:54cute now we got him token drinking a big old glass of java um can you get it to correct spelling no I don't think so at this
194. 35:04point here's the llamas going nuts at the bar and then and then Larry the Hedgehog getting stoned Larry was so innocent for
195. 35:15a week or so and now and there's Turtles taking class and look poor llama oh my goodness alcohol is a gateway
196. 35:35drug oh my god oh that's really good um what happened here did this not create I apologize for the inconvene oh let's show you
197. 35:50this so some so one of the things I've been seeing with Dolly 3 in chat GPT is sometimes it just doesn't do [ __ ] but
198. 35:56I'll just just go try um try again and it will and for the most part it it works occasionally it will write a prompt that it then
199. 36:11says violate its own safety standards well I'm like then don't write the [ __ ] prompt you dumb dumb all right so that's pretty good
200. 36:25look what it did it's still the control panel but it made giant nuts and bolts like can you see the nuts now you bone
201. 36:33head that's actually pretty cool unscrew the ordinary I I mean so look as silly as this exercise is you
202. 36:46know imagine the speed with which like when you if you've ever been in the room in a creative brainstormer with with
203. 36:53good creative people it's it's a really remarkable experience cuz they they tend to be and conversations right where
204. 37:02where it's not it's not someone put something out there and someone else goes I don't like it when you get in a
205. 37:07room with really good creative people it's this building conversation what about this they like oh that's
206. 37:12interesting what about this oh yeah that's good what about this no no I don't think so but you know what would
207. 37:17be good is this right and it's just it's this additive conversation this is kind of like doing that like I I can just take like
208. 37:28stupid ideas that shouldn't see the light of light of day put them in here and within two or three minutes go is
209. 37:36there anything interesting there or not and if there is great run down that rabbit hole I mean crazy the homeless llama is is the
210. 37:51absolute flipping best oh this is a good one too like I don't know if you can see it a little newr action AI learning lab the

215. 39:09what if you put text into prompt with brackets with commas and no spaces it doesn't really help so the way diffusion
216. 39:16models work the way the way these images are generated the computer is not actually aware of what it's producing it's
217. 39:25basically taking a bunch of Amalgamated noisy images and and sort of smashing them into a single noisy image and then
218. 39:34Den noising it over like 30 steps and so this are pretty [Laughter]
219. 39:52good that's good look at the super long p pistols oh my God why is there no turtle in any of
220. 40:08these we're we're g to this this this art director is just a jerk these are fantastic but all of them seem to be missing a
221. 40:23turtle and I think it should be obvious that a turtle should be a prominent figure in the story additionally there should
222. 40:39be a kid wearing zombie makeup I'll just call that a period all right we're gonna we're going to update this I have premium how do I access
223. 40:54Dolly 3 Pete unplug it's it may not be there if you go to your settings and go to Beta features um it like I don't think it's going to
224. 41:07be in beta features like when I go to Beta features Dolly 3 is not one of the beta features although when it's when
225. 41:14it's when I look at it it says beta so I think I just have some sort of weird Alpha access to it let's see if we got a a zombie kit
