18. 4:41weekend happy open AI still a company week got a terrible drinking problem do you believe the rumors of Q
19. 4:55and super intelligence I don't know um it's all such speculation um I find it hard to believe it it feels to me like it's it's
20. 5:10a a series of events that all kind of added up but I think something had to trigger I I think something other than you know Sam Alman
21. 5:22getting pissed off cuz that one woman you know wrote something in a white paper that he didn't like it just it does that
22. 5:34feels I don't know that feels Petty like this does not feel like a petty like it would the board absolutely had to know
23. 5:43that what they were going to do was going to blow [ __ ] up and it was going to get ugly so I don't think you do that
24. 5:49lightly like you know even even if they don't have business sense which they they clearly didn't in my opinion
25. 5:57um you don't do that [ __ ] lightly so I so it it seems to me something happened that precipitated it and and that's
26. 6:05plausible if you don't know uh what the question was there's there there was apparently a a letter sent to the board about a week
27. 6:17before all this happened uh that basically said they had made a breakthrough and Ilia sua or Suk I don't people pronounce it all
28. 6:27sorts of different ways I don't know how he pronounces it but um he apparently been working on this thing called
29. 6:33qar which is a combination of from what I can gather again this is more like chat TMZ than a news organization so take everything here
30. 6:46with a giant grain of salt um there was a there's a thing called Q learning and there was a thing called AAR and apparently qar might be
31. 6:58some sort of merging of of these two techniques that basically basically what they allow this is a model that from
32. 7:04what I can understand it sits on top of the G the large language model and it basically says Hey in any given State
33. 7:13you've got some actions you can take take the action that has the highest probability of success and then we'll
34. 7:21score you on that and then the Q score is a quality score either goes up or goes down on each action it takes and so
35. 7:28it's basically a way it's it's Game Theory kind of stuff it's a way for it to navigate tasks um such that it it learns if it's
36. 7:38doing it right basically and so it it is effectively reasoning so that's the that's the uh that's the skinny on what
37. 7:45qar the results of qar are and then they did it on some like lowlevel like grade school level math but apparently they
38. 7:57got they got it to get the math problems 100% right and they've never gotten close to that and so the
39. 8:05minute you're there now you're into now you're into these large language models reasoning and and according to David
40. 8:11Shapiro they kind of stopped it before it started self-improving so I don't know I do not know I don't know people all right let's
41. 8:20let's get started here let's get started here you know you know we got we we like talking about the artificial
42. 8:27intelligence here because I'm smart you know I got a lot of brains I'm going looking at all of it that's this is all
43. 8:34cranial capacity you know what I mean um so do me a favor share the live so we can get word out to get some some

53. 10:02right um oh so I was saying so I'm an entrepreneur my my current gig is I'm the co-founder and CEO of a company called
54. 10:10storyvine which is an automated uh video storytelling platform we do a lot of work in healthcare and Pharma I know
55. 10:17some of the Irregulars in here work in the healthcare space and the Pharma space so hello to you um and uh we've been around for 11
56. 10:28and A2 years so that's good um it's been a weird year business-wise I think for everyone um and I've added a whole bunch
57. 10:40of AI stuff to the product road map thanks for cluing people in on using AI to put their creativity to purpose and
58. 10:49hopefully monetize it absolutely tanker a kush yeah the uh the uh the cliche you know early on there there's a lot less
59. 10:57of this or I see a lot less of this on the on the Tik Tok these days but there were a lot of these channels that were
60. 11:01like you can make money with so we we made enough fun of them that I got myself a gold button to say it um and and the thing that
61. 11:12was annoying about that kind of content was it it mistakes the tool for a strategy right it's not about making money with chat
62. 11:22gbt how you make money is you solve problems and chat GPT just happens to be a tool in an arsenal of a bunch of them
63. 11:31that are really powerful tools and so that's kind of what we talk about here is how do we use them things like that
64. 11:36any news on when the GPT store will go live I have no idea um one of the rumors about all the tension at at uh open AI
65. 11:47was that the Sam prematurely announced the store I that does not feel like credible to me at this point but whatever who knows um I would be
66. 12:00surprised if the Kur fuffle last week Kur fluffle is it Kur fuffle or k fluffle I need I need my English
67. 12:09language homies to help me out with it I think it's kerfuffle I think I would be surprised if the Kur fuffle that's what I'm going
68. 12:19with right now didn't delay things so my my guess is that the GPT store will launch well okay two ideas one is it launches
69. 12:32on November 30th they said it was going to be the end of the month so November 30th is the one-year anniversary of chat
70. 12:40GPT I still haven't decided what I'm doing on the 30th or the 31st or what it's is it the 31st no it's not it's the
71. 12:481st of December um I might do a 24hour uh marathon thing so so for the anniversary but um
72. 13:03um so it could be the 30th right one year anniversary here's what's what's effectively the app store for
73. 13:13gpts um launching then my my suspicion is it'll be mid December or early [Music] [Laughter] January how soon on the horizon do you
74. 13:26think image generation will get better issues with tech Etc well it we should have a holiday party yeah it's a good
75. 13:33idea we should oh that's that's actually a really good idea yeah we we we'll do a holiday party that might be
76. 13:39fun we can we can bring a bunch of people up on stage and and just chitter chatter and drink eggnog and [ __ ] I like it call it a
77. 13:49Schism but they've they've Des Schism it cuno it's now now it was just the Kur fluffle Kur fluffle Kur fluffle get your
78. 13:57smart pants on never I will never wear smart pants usually sir if we work for British Airways we wear smart
79. 14:11pants that was how I heard her say it she she slapped me around in the most British way
80. 14:26possible oh man um what else we talking about here um if you're new to this AI stuff one of the one of my one of my
81. 14:41historical um experiences is that I was an entrepreneur in the early days of the worldwide web I started the the
82. 14:49smartpants joke was uh I started an agency in 1994 that was one of the first web agencies a digital agency and
83. 14:59um British Airways we we won the British Airways account and they were one of our clients and I got yelled at by a flight
84. 15:04attendant for not wearing smart pants it's a good story but it was humiliating at the time but but anyway the um one of the
85. 15:17reasons I'm so bullish on this AI stuff generative AI stuff essentially starting November 30th 2022 is when I'm that
86. 15:29that's the inle inflection point for me um that chat GPT represents for machine learning and AI what the worldwide web represented to the
87. 15:40internet right so the internet used to be command line and for researchers and scientists and Geeks only Librarians and
88. 15:48then the worldwide web came along and you could click on things to get to other things and all of a sudden the
89. 15:54rest of us could not only navigate the internet but we could put content on the internet and that changed everything and
90. 16:02so chat GPT is similarly simplifying um some incredibly powerful technology that's got I don't know three or four Decades of research and
91. 16:13development and infrastructure sitting underneath it and so we whoever the hell we are um get to play with this [ __ ] and so that's what
92. 16:24this channel is about so um so yeah so if if you're new here here welcome welcome I don't know what's going on with my voice it's getting a
93. 16:34little crazy it's getting a little crunchy scoob scoob what are we going to do sometimes I got you know dlid tones
94. 16:47and other times I got Scooby voice and yes I drink coffee at night um do you think Auto GPT has vastly
95. 17:02improved um I haven't played with auto GPT recently um there there are there are little hints of a uh autonomous action within
96. 17:20chat GPT now if you look at how it does image prompting and if you look at how it does um Cod interpreter it's doing
97. 17:29some autonomous prompting so I would say there's there's little hints of it inside um inside chat GPT right now um
98. 17:38but Auto GPT on its own if you don't know what Auto GPT is it's a um it's an autonomous agent so basically you give
99. 17:46it a goal and it takes actions on its own it'll go do a Google Search and it'll go do I don't know book you plane
100. 17:53tickets and this and that all that theoretically it sort of you give it tasks to or you give it a goal and it
101. 17:59figures out what tasks it needs to do and it goes off and does them um the the early things were they demoed
102. 18:08well but were pretty horrible and so I don't know if it's gotten any better but this qar thing um if the qar thing is
103. 18:19true what it effectively does is it course corrects if it takes wrong actions and I think I think that would move it Beyond vastly improving
104. 18:32to something close to AGI if not AGI and AGI if you don't know is artificial general intelligence um open AI defines AGI as
105. 18:44the point at which uh the the the machine the chat GPT kind of thing um is an autonomous system that performs um
106. 18:58how do they put it valuable valuable tasks better than humans most valuable tasks most valuable I can go look it up but um but
107. 19:14yeah it's basically when when when chat PT gets better than us at doing our jobs so think any knowledge work any
108. 19:22creative work shoot am I late uh you missed champ singing We we put champ on camera for a little bit bit he did a little little solo
109. 19:30action um I was trying to sing but you know when you got a dog singing next to you it's it's hard to carry a tune he sings better than I do
110. 19:44um all right so let's let's do this if you're like but what do we do here are we going to do anything here I thought
111. 19:49this was the learning lab are we going to learn is does he ever teach I thought this was a learning lab is he some sort
112. 19:55of Professor why is he wearing a t-shirt what are his qualifications does he have qualifications no
113. 20:09analytics okay so I'm gonna I'm purposefully covering up that thing on the right if you're brand new to AI if
114. 20:18you've not really played with it if you're just like I don't know home for the weekend or some of your children are home for
115. 20:27the weekend they like Nana you really got to get into Ai and you stumbled on here cuz you can't figure out any other way to do it
116. 20:37perfect you've come to the right place go there and just start playing with chat GPT if you've never played with it
117. 20:45it doesn't hurt okay here's one of the misconceptions about AI I need to be a mathematician from Stanford right nope
118. 20:52you don't you just can can you make words sort of I'm bad with words perfect it'll it's good with words it'll it'll
119. 21:01fix your typos and your Grammar get it a a a poorly formed idea and it will understand it um go ask it to write you
120. 21:11a poem go ask it to do all sorts of stuff like that all the bullet points below it are just this is just new [ __ ]
121. 21:16that they just announced two weeks ago um so we can we can demo some chat GPT stuff the one little caveat about chat
122. 21:23GPT right now is the really powerful one chat GPT 4 is they're not taking new submissions right now or new new
123. 21:32accounts for chat gb4 get your ass on the wait list just get your ass on the wait list it is the best uh it is the
124. 21:41sort of highest value 20 bucks a month you can buy um even without the 20 bucks a month the 3.5 chat GPT is pretty good
125. 21:49but there's a lot of other options okay all right now if you're a little bit more geeky that thing on the right is
126. 21:56the playground that's where Developers AG go that want to use open AI technology in their apps um and we can talk about that the
127. 22:05other thing about chat GPT we can talk about is they just announced these things called gpts which are
128. 22:11personalized um customized versions of GPT that you can create and share very very easily so we can do that but get
129. 22:20ready get ready to do some screenshotting okay I'm I'm going to walk you through a series of of screens this is all technology I think
130. 22:30if oh let me give a little bit more Foundation here um I think the most important thing you can do right now
131. 22:38with regards to AI is just be curious about it get relentlessly curious about it follow news about it play with it try
132. 22:48different tools don't make it don't take anything too seriously just start playing so all of the um all of the uh
133. 22:59sites that I'm about to show you are all just things that I think are worth your time um to to explore and so this this
134. 23:07list changes fairly regularly because everything's changing so much but but anyway get ready to screenshot okay so
135. 23:14screenshot that one so these are kind of the big four sitting beneath chat GPT you've got Claude which is the big
136. 23:21competitor to chat GPT Dario who used to work at open AI left and started anthropic which creates Claude they just rolled out Claude
137. 23:312.1 it's got a 200,000 token context window which is basically means you can put long ass prompts in there um grock is
138. 23:42reportedly going live next week inside of Twitter inside of X um as a feature inside of X for any premium account holders of of X of
139. 23:57Twitter and so that's basically if you're paying 16 bucks a month you're going to get grock next week Bard is
140. 24:03Google's entry into this space and co-pilot is Microsoft's and co-pilot is built on top of gp4 so I told you before
141. 24:13go to chat GPT but you can't have gp4 yet well you actually kind of can go to co-pilot microsoft.com that is ostensibly gp4
142. 24:24okay now it's not chat GPT it's co-pilot but they're different they're they're kind of both applications built on top of the
143. 24:33gp4 large language model um but but you can generate images with it with dolly3 it can read images it can
144. 24:43do all the stuff that that chat GPT can do but it's it's just a little I don't like it as much CU their safety guard
145. 24:49rails are too high in my opinion all right screenshot this bad boy so here's the other four that I think are worth learning
146. 24:58Pi perplexity llama 2 which is actually a whole world of Open Source but llama 2 is the is the the um the model that meta
147. 25:09released for free open- source with commercial license and then PO is a really interesting uh tool that that lets you
148. 25:19play with lots of different models now all nine of these so chbt those four and those four are all chat GPT like things
149. 25:34okay why would you need nine of them Kyle tell us which one's the best they keep changing a lot like Po
150. 25:41was about to drop off the list and then po sort of up their game with their Bots you can make a bot at Po and now they
151. 25:49just added the ability to add knowledge to their Bots and you can sell your Bots and commercialize them you can make
152. 25:55money you can make money with I with po uh so Po got really interesting um Pi is really interesting they're releasing
153. 26:06a new version in fact yesterday I noticed that in their conversational so Pi's really good at conversational chat
154. 26:14gping they basically added a therapy version of it like if you want to talk to someone about some issue um they've got a mode for that now
155. 26:27which I think is absolutely fascinating so so learn get curious about this stuff go play with all these tools and and
156. 26:35figure out which ones are good what you're going to find like perplexity is really good at research it does
157. 26:40citations and and it it hallucinates less because it's doing everything based on very focused searches so so
158. 26:48perplexity is really interesting but it's it like I don't use it a lot because I'm doing more creative writing
159. 26:54and I want the sort of creativity that gp4 gives me um but if you're doing research perplexity might be the tool if
160. 27:01you want to talk to to a thing like like conversational then Pi's probably it even though chat GPT Now can do that as
161. 27:08well um so go play with all these things okay um here's the image ones screenshot this tell us the meaning of life I mean
162. 27:18AI please exactly pi equals real time internet data oh that's right tck yeah so is po free so PO is free except you can't play with the
163. 27:32fancy Claude models or the fancy open AI models so if you want to use gp4 and Claude 2 on PO you have to pay for it
164. 27:44but you can play with a lot of other stuff there and it's um you can make your own bot for free and you can
165. 27:52publish it for free and now you can monetize it for free so so yeah so po po is a really interesting one these are
166. 28:00the image creation tools I think are worth understanding the boundaries of I I think that's what I'm going to say now
167. 28:06more than anything is like I don't feel like you have to master any of these tools because these tools change on a
168. 28:13monthly basis and sometimes weekly and sometimes daily so just kind of learn which ones are right for you and if if one if you
169. 28:22hate it then don't use it again but at least you know so Dolly 3 is what lives in inside chat GPT and it also lives
170. 28:29inside co-pilot mid journey is a standalone independent company they've never raised any money which I find
171. 28:35absolutely amazing they're doing like2 200 $300 million a year um just with a Discord bot that makes images why cuz
172. 28:44mid Journey makes the best quality images of all the image generation tools period hands down unless you want text in it and then it's
173. 28:52dolly3 um Leonardo is sort of the web front end for a whole um ecosystem of things on stable diffusion um that that you if you want
174. 29:03to geek out Leonardo is a good one to play with and then Firefly from Adobe is good if you work at a company at a
175. 29:09corporation because it has not been trained on any copywritten data images um so so that one's interesting um here's video creation
176. 29:20this world is getting insane right now so one thing I need to add to this in fact let me do it now I'm going to grab this thing
177. 29:32here you can't just change a slide right in the middle of a presentation that's against the rules one of the things
178. 29:40you'll learn about this channel is me and rules not so good along it's it's we like to call this channel chat
179. 29:49add all right so we're going to put down here Runway Dot TV um so Runway ml is a textto video
180. 30:06creation tool as as is Moon Valley and pabs and Runway just launched runway. TV which is a think of it like Netflix but for AI generated
181. 30:18content you're going to go there and if you're a real filmmaker most of what you're going to say is this stuff looks like [ __ ] this is
182. 30:26dumb um and what's going to happen is real filmmakers and real Studios and real distribution networks like Netflix are
183. 30:37going to laugh at that thing they're going to laugh at Runway TV until they don't because these tools are getting
184. 30:44better fast um ha Jen and did are are like Avatar creation tools ha Jen in particular their Avatar right now you
185. 30:55can upload a video of yourself like a two 2 minute video and it will synthesize you and then you can just type a script and it will say
186. 31:07it and you're like but C what will it say it'll say whatever the hell you type and it'll sound sort of like you like

193. 32:23ago you might be so so it kept my face and like I was wearing and my facial expressions but it synthesized my voice
194. 32:31and so that's that one and then so that one's just I typed in text and it just synthesized it and then this next one is
195. 32:38I recorded the audio and just uploaded the audio and so that's this one hey it's Kyle Shannon with the AI learning
196. 32:45lab so the previous video on my timeline is an avatar generated with hey Jen where I didn't say the words I just
197. 32:53typed in a script and it synthesized my voice and and like the fact that it's matching the hand movements to the
198. 33:00Cadence of the video and how I'm talking is insanity to me now does it look exactly like me it's got some weirdness
199. 33:08to it but it's pretty [ __ ] close it was decent it didn't really sound like me it didn't really sound like me be
200. 33:14recording myself I'm just recording audio and I'm uploading it to hey Jen as well and it's matching this audio to the
201. 33:22Avatar's looking Fe so that's hey Jen um and then Visa is like for making like corporate videos basically but but does
202. 33:33it really quick and and in a kind of interesting way okay and then what else do we got here here's music and audio 11
203. 33:41Labs uh does the voice synthesis so the haen stuff I just showed the voice synthesis engine that they use is 11
204. 33:49Labs um sunno and RI Fusion are both they'll sing You songs they'll write You lyrics and sing You songs and write the songs and play the
205. 33:59instruments it's [ __ ] Insanity um both of them sound janky right now if you're if you're an actual musician
206. 34:06you'll kind of laugh at it uh but if you're an actual musician you'll also realize holy [ __ ] this it's not that far
207. 34:14off uh and then sound draw is like a loop composer that uses AI to to mix Loops together really really quickly so
208. 34:22if you if you need to knock out some quick background music for a video sound draw is really good um here's 3D worlds this is if if
209. 34:32you're in game development these are things worth playing with um although Wonder Dynamics will replace a human
210. 34:38being in a video with a robot uh that you choose a robot from their library and then give it a couple of hours to
211. 34:45process and it basically rotos Scopes out the human and rotos Scopes in a robot it's pretty amazing and then these
212. 34:53people are all people that you should follow um Ethan mullik is a Wharton business school Professor one useful
213. 35:01thing is his blog I'd follow him on Twitter and on LinkedIn as well and um David Shapiro is YouTube YouTuber um that really knows about this
214. 35:16AGI stuff he's he's the one that has largely explained all this qar stuff to me and what it's not only how it works
215. 35:24but what its significance is is he understands it he's written five books on AGI he's got a cognitive architecture
216. 35:32open source project so if you're a geek like if you're a geek and you're not following David Shapiro and you're not
217. 35:38involved in his open source project right now I'm like what are you doing with your life man get get on it get on it I A lot of
218. 35:48times people come in here and they ask oh my son just started computer science is that a good idea I I think if you're in any way
219. 35:57technical um you should be diving into open- Source projects open source large language models um you should be diving
220. 36:06into projects like Lang chain like Auto GPT um like uh like David Shapiro's cognitive architectures David Shapiro is
221. 36:15also doing agent swarms in an open- Source way I would just dive into that [ __ ] if I were you whether whether you
222. 36:25know they're teaching you that in college or not because they're not going to be teaching you it in college unless you have some you know
223. 36:33remarkable um professors if they are [ __ ] stay there learn everything you can from those people hang out with them
224. 36:39if they're not teaching you that [ __ ] Jump On It Go do it on your own be get entrepreneurial we're all going to have
225. 36:45to uh Paul rater and Rachel Woods are both good if you're in business Rachel um is a good counter to this channel so
226. 36:53my channel is kind of Loosey Goosey chat add infotainment kind of Ed edutainment uh content um hers is much
227. 37:03more buttoned up and if you want to get [ __ ] done at work follow her and then Paul rer from the marketing AI

250. 40:00sent the uh the celebration thing it might have been you drew um but thank you for that um but but when I saw chat GPT I kind of
251. 40:09had a similar Epiphany that I had in '94 with the worldwide web where I just realized holy [ __ ] this is one of those
252. 40:15and so this community the AI Salon we have a new logo that's our new logo um and we have a new um Community Home

267. 42:21there's going to be people coming from all walks of life everyone is new to this everyone there are no experts right

270. 42:42been in it for 30 days and like just know that that's how it's going to be and embrace that and then the last one
271. 42:48is empathy um this shit's intense like as as fun and exciting as this is and as enthusiastic as I am about AI I also get
272. 42:59that this is profoundly powerful stuff that's going to change a lot for a lot of us we're all going to be confronted
273. 43:06with um a lot of change and so there's a lot of fear there's a lot of anger there's a lot of resistance people are
274. 43:12going to think you're [ __ ] weirdos a good way to think about the salon is like an AI support group like hi I'm

302. 47:23boulder AI art showing um like two weeks ago and and it's like just watching people reinvent thems is is um super
303. 47:35inspiring so so how you becom an irregular is you just regularly show up and then you you be a little [ __ ]

361. 57:36um it's one of the it's one of the things it's really good at and depending on how old the book is it might know it anyway
362. 57:46um so if you're using it to summarize it that's kosher if you're using it to take the book and just rewrite it and then
363. 57:53resell it on your own that's not kosher like you know I would say use common sense when it comes to the copyright and trademark
364. 58:01stuff but yeah you can you can use it it's perfect for that chat gbt now a now has 125 token 125,000 token context window which is
365. 58:15about 96,000 words and Claude um just up their token window to 200 ,000 tokens which is about 150,000 words and to put that in context The
366. 58:30Great Gatsby is 50,000 words so so yeah upload a PDF of a book and just say summarize this give me bullet points who
367. 58:40are the main characters I've uploaded a bunch of my screenplays and said you know give me character breakdowns give
368. 58:45me summaries give me Hollywood style log lines and it does them like that and it does them better than frankly I would
369. 58:51have done them especially with [ __ ] like that where if you got like old work that you've got you've got an old book that

687. 2:00:17context as you can so if you're if you're new to chat GPT unlike a Google search where the goal is to sort of give it as little
