42. 8:39that and uh there was a request to to talk about Gemini so what check out cell. okay I'll do that in a bit remind

44. 9:04button you can make money with we can talk business stuff we can talk AI stuff uh by my background if you're curious is I'm an entrepreneur

46. 9:26not ironically use a lot of AI although uh we are creating story vine. a whole Suite of new products that are

48. 9:43like that um could an AI do a text image like turning a book into a movie could it oh do text to image like
49. 9:55turning a book into a movie yeah in fact I've got a a GPT that I made where I uploaded my screenplay and when you ask
50. 10:05it questions about my screenplay it'll tell you about the scene and then render one of the scenes um from like you know
51. 10:12in storyboard format so yes it absolutely can gp4 can co-pilot can uh and and there will likely be others coming but right now those two
52. 10:23are the ones where you can do it within a a large language model it's pretty cool okay so this past week um Google announced
53. 10:35Gemini and one of the things they claimed was they have a bunch of stats here that Gemini Ultra beats chat
54. 10:48gp4 in almost every Benchmark visual benchmarks video audio um text code reasoning all of it except one one reasoning thing um but
55. 11:03they didn't actually launch um Gemini Ultra so what what we found out is that there are actually three Geminis there's
56. 11:11Gemini Ultra which this is the one that's coming then there's Gemini Pro which this is the one that if you go to b.google.r
57. 11:29some people are saying it's really good I figured we might do some testing tonight um but it's kind of a GPT
58. 11:373.5 level um large language model it's not it's not the the other the the one the GPT 4 killer and then there's Gemini
59. 11:47Nano and Gemini Nano is designed to work um on phones without needing an inter internet connection it's a it's an
60. 11:57optimized version of large language model designed to run on device on phones and the Google pixel 8 Pro has some app in it right now that's
61. 12:10leveraging that so so this is going to be something I think we're going to see a lot of in 20124 is smaller more
62. 12:16efficient models that run locally on devices that don't need an internet connection which is pretty I like I find
63. 12:22that of of all the stuff I find this one the most interesting right now because it's available um on December 13th both
64. 12:33Gemini Pro and Gemini Nano are going to be available to the developer Community via uh API so they're going to be able
65. 12:42to start building tools with it and then Gemini Ultra is not slated to come out until sometime after the New Year are
66. 12:50there any AI Bots yet that access live internet data lots of them chat gp4 does co-pilot does Bard does Pi
67. 13:00does um I'm trying to think what else let me go look at my my list I will tell you which ones chat GT4 does Claude does not grock
68. 13:15does but in a weird way grock uh accesses Twitter data X data Bard is connected to the internet copilot is connected to the internet Pi
69. 13:25is connected to the internet perplexity is connected to the internet there are some models on PO that are connected to
70. 13:31the internet and I assume some of the open- source llama models are connected to the internet but you got to go play
71. 13:37in the open source spaces for that so fair amount of them are connected to the internet so yes the answer the answer my
72. 13:45friends is blowing in the wind the answer okay now controversy Gemini they made this movie you know one of the oh
73. 13:56no not this movie this is just a boring marketing movie this [Music] movie so this movie got everyone all hot

80. 15:25internet Google's Gemini AI face controversy due to an edited demonstration video the video titled hands so that video that sounds like
81. 15:35it's talking like that is actually not and then also they sped up the response time now listen are smooth and flowing with no a marketing
82. 15:43video that speeds [ __ ] up to make it look better is nothing new we've seen it before it's it's always
83. 15:52done why did this one catch everyone so off guard or not so off guard why did why is everyone flipping out out over
84. 15:59this because everyone immediately went oh Gemini is way better than chat gp4 look at all the stuff it does and look
85. 16:06how fast it does it and then it was like wait a minute is this sped up and then it turns out yes It sped up oh and by
86. 16:12the way um it doesn't talk like that so so whatever um but it it does look like it's got some cool capabilities um you know it's got
87. 16:24Vision um it can do things like I see pink and green yarn how about a dragon fruit or how about a green cake with a pink
88. 16:35heart okay how about these colors and maybe show me some animals okay now I see blue and pink yarn how about a pig
89. 16:44with blue ears or an octopus right so it is not at all clear like we don't know how fast is the distance between it can
90. 16:53see this and it generates an animal here and was there additional prompting in between that we don't know we just we
91. 16:59just don't know um there's marketing and then there's lying I I wouldn't call this lying what I would call it is um
92. 17:07not being transparent right if they' put some little text on there that says sequences sped up for for convenience
93. 17:15what or whatever right um you know voice you know uh you know voice voices is a you know a voiceover actor and not a
94. 17:25thing they could have put something in there and it would have been fine so it's just more lack of transparency than
95. 17:29lying but but whatever they got busted and now they got egg on their face because we don't have anything we can
96. 17:36play with right this has been delayed now that said there are some videos that they put out
97. 17:51that I think do point to something very very very very interesting okay so let me make this full
98. 18:07screen so this is the end of a one of one of their demo movies and so you see this big um see all these oops I'm not see all these
99. 18:22things this is like a big giant canvas including this text right here and there's some text up here that says can we guess the
100. 18:33movie see that so that was part of it now watch watch as he pans around this thing aible Gemini can guess some
101. 18:42movies all right we're going to start here okay so notice he panned across this thing and so this is like one of
102. 18:50those you know Infinite Canvas kind of mood board kind of things it looks like at least one of the interfaces for
103. 18:57Gemini Ultra is going to be this kind of playground kind of thing where you can drop objects onto it and so he's got an
104. 19:04image here and he's got a movie here and then he just drew this square around it and if you watch this this looks like
105. 19:11real interface this doesn't look like um Faker Faker stuff give him the play on wait let me turn off uh close captioning
106. 19:19so when he draws the box it creates a little input box right here and then he says give me a play on given the play on words
107. 19:29words and these images guess the name of the movie guess the name of the movie and then you can see over here is a
108. 19:36little um progress indicator animated The Breakfast Club all right what about this Breakfast at Tiffany's now that
109. 19:48talking is that actually Gemini we don't know and given that the other video said well maybe not uh we just we just don't
110. 19:59know um but this interface to me is is really interesting all right what about this uncut gems cool um so so there's that so so that's
111. 20:12kind of it so so the the the important things about Gemini it looks to be in the neighborhood of gp4
112. 20:28until people can actually play with it those benchmarks don't mean [ __ ] the the benchmarks like until people use it and
113. 20:37it's like stable and it does stuff and it does what people predict and um but not enough people have played with it to have any any
114. 20:49uh any feedback now the b.google.r Gemini Pro um I've heard both it's kind of like chat GPT 3.5 I've heard it's a little
115. 21:02better um one use case that I was enjoying Bard for they took it away when they added Gemini which was the previous
116. 21:12uh Bard was had indexed all of YouTube and now that seems to be gone although we can go check that and maybe it's
117. 21:18maybe it's there now um but anyway uh like my thought on Gemini right now is whatever looks good looks promising and
118. 21:34when we can play with it then then we'll decide like could it be Paradigm shifting like this is a new way of of
119. 21:41playing with truly multimodal um AI yeah that that looks pretty interesting that that it's a very visual
120. 21:52interface that prompting prompting is in context of images and multimedia and you can pop a webcam onto that interface and
121. 21:59things like that so that's kind of interesting uh Apple user what's happening good to see you good to see
122. 22:07you all right there's marketing and then there's lying Liars I say that until they give us access on on this group to their sandbox

129. 23:36was they they put Palm 2 was the engine sitting underneath it it was sometime after Palm 2 came out it got better but
130. 23:44it got better and it got usable and it was connected to the internet and how they integrated internet stuff was
131. 23:50really good and then throughout the fall Bard was just getting consistently better it like wasn't you know anywh
132. 23:57where near gp4 but it was just consistently a usable option and then like three days before the Gemini announcement um I saw on
133. 24:11Twitter somewhere somewhere some somewhere else that um b.google.r
134. 24:27amazing like it would write chapters and it would it would link you over to to YouTube at that particular point in a video it was pretty
135. 24:37slick and then when Gemini came out I was like oh let me go test Gemini on YouTube and it was like I'm sorry Dave
136. 24:45I'm afraid I can't do that um so so let's go we'll go test it now maybe maybe this was a temporary here's Bard see they have a
137. 24:57they have a YouTube oh wait right here they have research a topic and there's a YouTube thing so if I

486. 1:27:54space it's just a different thing but anyway that's a subtlety and and you know that fear is going to be there and
487. 1:28:01I think listen I think that artists and creatives and writers and knowledge workers absolutely have the right to be terrified and pissed off
488. 1:28:15but the thing that makes me sad is they're doing it without learning the tool without understanding the tool and
489. 1:28:22that's a drag and that's why this channel exists quite frankly there's a lot of people that are in here that come back regularly that
490. 1:28:30are totally into this AI stuff now that weren't when they came in here why because once you try it it gets a l a lot
491. 1:28:40less you realize that they're really imperfect tools you realize that the robots aren't making the stuff people are making the

504. 1:30:59artistic Vision the artists that I see that are embracing AI That's exactly what's happening to them they're
505. 1:31:06starting in kind of a narrow place with wherever they were with their art they come into this AI stuff and then the world
506. 1:31:13goes and they go holy [ __ ] this is cool I'll do I'll do one of them I'll do one of them oh my God I don't even know my Creative Vision

525. 1:34:57can upload files to it and they can be anything they can be images they can be CSV files they can be PDFs um it can't
526. 1:35:08really deal with it can it can analyze the technical aspects of video and audio it's not really processing them yet but it
527. 1:35:15will um but but you can upload a PDF to it and they can be quite long like I I upload my whole screenplay as a as a text file in this
528. 1:35:25case and then I said um give me the log line give me give me the like how would I elevator pitch this to someone and it
529. 1:35:36said salmon flying East is where the deer hunter meets A River Runs Through It which that's kind of a cool you know uh
530. 1:35:44marriage a poignant journey of Vietnam veteran fisherman wrestling with his past entangled in a haunting romance
531. 1:35:51that that Bridges the turbulent Waters of War and the Serene struggles of life back home I'm like oh that's pretty good
532. 1:35:58and then I said um okay great now I'd like you to create a list of visual scenes from the opening of the movie
533. 1:36:06describe them as if they were a storyboard in fact create a table where one column describes the action and the
534. 1:36:12next describes what's going on visually and so it did that and then and this is another thing where chat G pt4 is different than chat
535. 1:36:21PT 3.5 I said great now go make those images and so we went through a little bit of back and forth of look and feel
536. 1:36:28but like here's the first scene of the film that it described of Gig Harbor that's what Gig Harbor looks like if
537. 1:36:34you've ever been to Gig Harbor Washington that's what it looks like like it nailed it and in fact it nailed it to the point where it's
538. 1:36:43like it it it instantly brought this screenplay back to life for me so here I've got a 30-year-old unsold
539. 1:36:55screenplay sitting dormant on my hard drive that I dumped into this tool it brought it back to life to me in an
540. 1:37:04elevator picture I was like oh yeah that's actually kind of a cool story like you know I forgot what it was
541. 1:37:10about and then it made that image and then we we did a little back and forth on style and we landed on these two
542. 1:37:17Styles where if we were talking about the present it was going to be this kind of cool blue color if we were talking
543. 1:37:23about the past in Vietnam it was going to be this sort of funky green color and then I said like create the storyboard that you
544. 1:37:33described at the beginning and it went through and created the storyboard I mean come on it totally brought this thing back to
545. 1:37:46life to me I mean do you know how lucky it do what I like I can't even put into words let's say for whatever reason I
546. 1:37:59got inspired and I said [ __ ] it I'm going to try to make salmon flying East I pull out the screenplay I'd
547. 1:38:08probably print it on my printer maybe I'd put it on my iPad I'd reread it which would take me a week because I have
548. 1:38:18ADD then I would try to find someone who knew someone that could maybe help me sketch some images of some of the
549. 1:38:28scenes and then it would probably be too expensive so I'd probably have to pick like three images and then I have to have
550. 1:38:36them read the screenplay like a a month later I might get three images out of it and now I've got you know I've got
551. 1:38:45effectively a functional storyboard of the first seven scenes of this film and and they're not bad like they're in the
552. 1:38:52neighborhood of what I had in my head when I wrote it because it's a screenplay right you've got descriptions of what the visuals
553. 1:38:59are so chat GPT can read the screenplay in Seconds come up with how to prompt its own image generation
554. 1:39:11engine and then do that and I and I kept going and then I I ended up um asking it to come up with a um
555. 1:39:22a casting breakdown I said I said Give me the give me the characters in the film and who would play them and so it
556. 1:39:35did Jack is gonna be Hugh Jackman Jeremy rener or Josh Brolin Maggie's gonna be or uh Ping's gonna be um Zang Zeal Martha's going to be
