you can serve 3:00 wine on his back it's it's 3:03 flat Kevin Vasquez greetings 3:06 champy people are happy to see 3:09 champy good day good day good day 3:12 welcome everybody Welcome to the AI 3:14 alerting lab happy Saturday night we'll 3:17 get this show started 3:25 shortly he got some girth he does have 3:28 some 3:29 girth we took him to the vet a year or 3:31 so ago and she came out and she goes 3:34 he's one tubby 3:36 [Laughter] 3:40 boy he's one tubby boy was that you 3:44 champy are You The Tubby boy he's 3:46 wagging his tail he knows his name like 3:49 you're playing Kyle maybe we need to 3:51 hear more of it well the problem with me 3:53 playing guitar is I can't do it with 3:55 champ in the house cuz you can't play a 3:59 song the the other problem with my 4:01 playing is I play okay I sing okay but I 4:03 only know depressing songs so maybe 4:06 toward the end of the evening rather 4:08 than at the beginning cuz everyone will 4:10 just be like oh God that's so 4:14 depressing there's more of champy to 4:17 love there is there's a lot of champ to 4:22 love oh man I don't know what to we what 4:26 to do tonight I was thinking maybe maybe 4:28 we play around with 4:30 we do like a same prompt across we'll do 4:33 like chat GPT 3.5 4:36 Claude um 4:38 Bard grock see how these are all doing 4:42 speed-wise quality-wise although I don't 4:44 know a great prompt to do across things 4:46 so maybe maybe we can figure that out 4:49 pretty ornament that's from Ted looks at 4:51 life the AI learning 4:53 lab ornament it's 4:56 lovely it's a lovely lovely thing 5:00 it really is 5:02 nice I'm on chat GPT timeout for an hour 5:06 sorry about that random thoughts that's 5:08 a drag can you do a catch up on Genesis 5:12 I I assume you mean Gemini wasn't able 5:14 to hear much about it I could do I could 5:17 do a catch up on Gemini and and try to 5:20 catch people up on real versus not 5:22 chunky Johnny Knoxville Ted has talent 5:25 Ted really does Ted Ted's been killing 5:27 it with the he just he just knocks out 5:29 the images pretty consistently they're 5:31 they're solid that one's really nice 5:34 it's got all sorts of cool Reflections 5:35 in it too like a building or a library 5:38 or 5:42 something 5:44 Gemini Oh Lordy I didn't take a nap let 5:47 me have some 5:51 coffee all right so let's see where do 5:55 we want to start if we want to start 5:56 with 5:58 Gemini 6:00 let me go look let me go grab some grab 6:03 some URLs first here for a 6:08 second uh let's 6:10 see Gemini un uh we can do that 6:15 at uh 6:18 blog. 6:28 gooogle 6:36 all right this what I'm looking 6:39 for well we can we can show the we we 6:43 can show the offending 6:45 video that's what I want I want the I 6:48 want those things all right so let me 6:50 make those a little 6:55 bigger so there's that and then let me 6:58 go to YouTube and 7:03 get 7:08 oops you know one of the 7:18 reason so that's 7:21 that and then let me go to 7:25 Bard Bard Bard Bard Bard Bard Bard Bard 7:29 bard B 7:32 okay so we got those three all right 7:37 so yeah so this is enough for us to go 7:40 over some 7:42 stuff all right fantastic let's get 7:46 started shall we so welcome everybody my 7:48 name is Kyle Shannon and this is exactly 7:52 how I talk I don't talk different than 7:55 this this is how I talk you might ask 7:57 sir what are your qualifications I have 8:00 no qualifications but this is how I talk 8:07 definitely 8:09 um this the AI learning lab if you are 8:12 curious about AI or if you think I look 8:16 like uh Tom Arnold either of those are 8:19 fine hang out we'll talk about some AI 8:22 stuff maybe we'll do a little little 8:25 geeking out little demoing little 8:27 question answering if you have questions 8:29 about AI them in the comments below we 8:31 got mods in here who will pop your 8:32 questions up so I can see them cuz I 8:34 tend to go down rabbit holes and and I 8:36 can't see everything so um so we'll do 8:40 that and uh there was a request to to 8:43 talk about Gemini so what check out 8:48 cell. okay I'll do that in a bit remind 8:51 me later um let's go look at 8:55 Gemini let's go do that let's go do that 9:00 oh the other thing that you could do 9:02 here wait where's my 9:05 button you can make money 9:09 with we can talk business stuff we can 9:13 talk AI stuff uh by my background if 9:16 you're curious is I'm an entrepreneur 9:19 I'm the co-founder and CEO of a company 9:22 called storyvine which is an automated 9:24 video storytelling platform which does 9:27 not ironically use a lot of AI 9:30 although uh we are creating story vine. 9:34 a whole Suite of new products that are 9:36 wrapped around our current product so 9:37 that I'm pretty excited about yeah thank 9:40 you mods The Mod Squad that's good I 9:43 like that um could an AI do a text image 9:48 like turning a book into a 9:51 movie could it oh do text to image like 9:55 turning a book into a movie yeah in fact 9:59 I've got a a GPT that I made where I 10:02 uploaded my screenplay and when you ask 10:05 it questions about my screenplay it'll 10:08 tell you about the scene and then render 10:10 one of the scenes um from like you know 10:12 in storyboard format so yes it 10:15 absolutely can gp4 can co-pilot 10:18 can uh and and there will likely be 10:21 others coming but right now those two 10:23 are the ones where you can do it within 10:25 a a large language model it's pretty 10:28 cool okay 10:30 so this past week um Google announced 10:36 Gemini and one of the things they 10:40 claimed was they have a bunch of stats 10:43 here that Gemini Ultra beats chat 10:48 gp4 in almost every Benchmark visual 10:52 benchmarks video 10:55 audio um text code reasoning all of it 11:00 except one one reasoning thing um but 11:04 they didn't actually launch um Gemini 11:07 Ultra so what what we found out is that 11:09 there are actually three Geminis there's 11:11 Gemini Ultra which this is the one 11:14 that's 11:16 coming then there's Gemini Pro which 11:19 this is the one that if you go to 11:21 b.google.r 11:29 some people are saying it's really good 11:30 I figured we might do some testing 11:33 tonight um but it's kind of a GPT 11:38 3.5 level um large language model it's 11:41 not it's not the the other the the one 11:44 the GPT 4 killer and then there's Gemini 11:48 Nano and Gemini Nano is designed to work 11:52 um on phones without needing an inter 11:56 internet connection it's a it's an 11:58 optimized version of large language 12:00 model designed to run on device on 12:03 phones and the Google pixel 8 Pro has 12:09 some app in it right now that's 12:10 leveraging that so so this is going to 12:13 be something I think we're going to see 12:14 a lot of in 20124 is smaller more 12:16 efficient models that run locally on 12:19 devices that don't need an internet 12:20 connection which is pretty I like I find 12:23 that of of all the stuff I find this one 12:25 the most 12:27 interesting right now because it's 12:30 available um on December 13th both 12:33 Gemini Pro and Gemini Nano are going to 12:37 be available to the developer Community 12:40 via uh API so they're going to be able 12:43 to start building tools with it and then 12:45 Gemini Ultra is not slated to come out 12:48 until sometime after the New Year are 12:51 there any AI Bots yet that access live 12:53 internet data lots of them chat gp4 does 12:56 co-pilot does Bard does Pi 13:00 does um I'm trying to think what else 13:04 let me go look at my my list I will tell 13:07 you which 13:09 ones chat GT4 does Claude does not grock 13:15 does but in a weird way 13:17 grock uh accesses Twitter data X data 13:21 Bard is connected to the internet 13:22 copilot is connected to the internet Pi 13:25 is connected to the internet perplexity 13:27 is connected to the internet there are 13:29 some models on PO that are connected to 13:32 the internet and I assume some of the 13:34 open- source llama models are connected 13:36 to the internet but you got to go play 13:37 in the open source spaces for that so 13:40 fair amount of them are connected to the 13:42 internet so yes the answer the answer my 13:46 friends is blowing in the wind the 13:49 answer okay now controversy Gemini they 13:54 made this movie you know one of the oh 13:57 no not this movie this is just a boring 13:59 marketing movie this 14:04 [Music] 14:08 movie so this movie got everyone all hot 14:11 and bothered and 14:13 excited okay here we go tell me what you 14:16 see I see you placing a piece of paper 14:19 on the 14:20 table I see a squiggly 14:23 line what about now the contour line 14:26 okay so couple of things 14:30 um Gemini Ultra doesn't do voice so so 14:34 Chachi BT and Pi both do voice right 14:38 now so if I 14:42 put chat GPT into wait hang on what's 14:47 going on 14:48 here put it into voice 14:51 mode can you tell me what the weather's 14:54 going to be like of 14:56 course it sounds like you're wrapping up 14:58 a presentation or a video if you have 15:01 any specific questions or topics you'd 15:03 like to discuss feel free to ask I'm 15:05 here to help with information 15:07 explanations or even to brainstorm ideas 15:10 for your next session what's on your 15:12 mind what's Google's Gemini video 15:15 debacle all 15:23 about that sound is it searching the 15:25 internet Google's Gemini AI face 15:28 controversy due to an edited 15:29 demonstration video the video titled 15:32 hands so that video that sounds like 15:35 it's talking like that is actually not 15:37 and then also they sped up the response 15:39 time now listen are smooth and flowing 15:42 with no a marketing 15:44 video that speeds [ __ ] up to make it 15:46 look better is nothing new we've seen it 15:49 before it's it's always 15:52 done why did this one catch everyone so 15:55 off guard or not so off guard why did 15:57 why is everyone flipping out out over 15:59 this because everyone immediately went 16:02 oh Gemini is way better than chat gp4 16:05 look at all the stuff it does and look 16:06 how fast it does it and then it was like 16:08 wait a minute is this sped up and then 16:10 it turns out yes It sped up oh and by 16:12 the way um it doesn't talk like that so 16:16 so whatever um but it it does look like 16:19 it's got some cool 16:21 capabilities um you know it's got 16:25 Vision um it can do things like 16:29 I see pink and green yarn how about a 16:32 dragon 16:32 fruit or how about a green cake with a 16:35 pink 16:36 heart okay how about these colors and 16:39 maybe show me some animals okay now I 16:42 see blue and pink yarn how about a pig 16:44 with blue ears or an octopus right so it 16:48 is not at all clear like we don't know 16:51 how fast is the distance between it can 16:54 see this and it generates an animal here 16:56 and was there additional prompting in 16:58 between that we don't know we just we 17:00 just don't know um there's marketing and 17:03 then there's lying I I wouldn't call 17:04 this lying what I would call it is um 17:08 not being transparent right if they' put 17:11 some little text on there that says 17:13 sequences sped up for for convenience 17:16 what or whatever right um you know voice 17:20 you know uh you know voice voices is a 17:24 you know a voiceover actor and not a 17:25 thing they could have put something in 17:26 there and it would have been fine so 17:28 it's just more lack of transparency than 17:30 lying but but whatever they got busted 17:32 and now they got egg on their face 17:34 because we don't have anything we can 17:37 play with right this has been delayed 17:40 now that 17:42 said there are some videos that they put 17:46 out 17:52 that I think do point to something very 17:55 very very very 17:57 interesting 18:00 okay 18:04 so let me make this full 18:08 screen so this is the end of 18:13 a one of one of their demo movies and so 18:16 you see this big um see all these oops 18:21 I'm not see all these 18:23 things this is like a big giant canvas 18:26 including this text right here and 18:29 there's some text up here that says can 18:31 we guess the 18:34 movie see that so that was part of it 18:37 now watch watch as he pans around this 18:39 thing aible Gemini can guess some 18:42 movies all right we're going to start 18:44 here okay so notice he panned across 18:48 this thing and so this is like one of 18:50 those you know Infinite Canvas kind of 18:53 mood board kind of things it looks like 18:56 at least one of the interfaces for 18:58 Gemini Ultra is going to be this kind of 19:00 playground kind of thing where you can 19:02 drop objects onto it and so he's got an 19:04 image here and he's got a movie here and 19:07 then he just drew this square around it 19:10 and if you watch this this looks like 19:11 real interface this doesn't look like um 19:14 Faker Faker stuff give him the play on 19:17 wait let me turn off uh close captioning 19:20 so when he draws the box it creates a 19:22 little input box right here and then he 19:24 says give me a play on given the play on 19:27 words 19:30 words and these images guess the name of 19:32 the movie guess the name of the movie 19:34 and then you can see over here is a 19:36 little um progress indicator animated 19:40 The Breakfast 19:41 Club all right what about 19:44 this Breakfast at Tiffany's now that 19:48 talking is that actually Gemini we don't 19:52 know and given that the other video said 19:56 well maybe not uh we just we just don't 19:59 know um but this interface to me is is 20:03 really interesting all right what about 20:05 this uncut gems 20:08 cool um so so there's that so so that's 20:13 kind of it so so the the the important 20:17 things about 20:22 Gemini it looks to 20:25 be in the neighborhood of gp4 20:29 until people can actually play with it 20:32 those benchmarks don't mean [ __ ] the the 20:35 benchmarks like until people use it and 20:37 it's like stable and it does stuff and 20:40 it does what people predict and um but 20:45 not enough people have played with it to 20:47 have any any 20:50 uh any feedback now the b.google.r 20:55 Gemini 20:56 Pro um I've heard both it's kind of like 21:00 chat GPT 3.5 I've heard it's a little 21:02 better um one use case that I was 21:06 enjoying Bard for they took it away when 21:09 they added Gemini which was the previous 21:12 uh Bard was had indexed all of YouTube 21:15 and now that seems to be gone although 21:17 we can go check that and maybe it's 21:18 maybe it's there now um but anyway 21:24 uh like my thought on Gemini right now 21:28 is 21:31 whatever looks good looks promising and 21:34 when we can play with it then then we'll 21:36 decide like could it be Paradigm 21:39 shifting like this is a new way of of 21:42 playing with truly multimodal 21:47 um AI yeah that that looks pretty 21:50 interesting that that it's a very visual 21:52 interface that prompting prompting is in 21:55 context of images and multimedia and you 21:57 can pop a webcam onto that interface and 22:00 things like that so that's kind of 22:02 interesting uh Apple user what's 22:05 happening good to see you good to see 22:08 you all right there's marketing and then 22:10 there's lying 22:13 Liars I say that until they give us 22:16 access on on this group to their sandbox 22:22 wait I I say that until they give us 22:25 access to this group on their sandbox 22:27 yeah exactly well you know if they let 22:29 us play with it then we'll then we'll go 22:31 we got we got a ringer in here we got 22:32 paon here although he's he's he's 22:35 appropriately tight lipped about what's 22:36 going on with 22:40 Gemini 22:46 um more 22:52 activity boy Mighty networks is being 22:55 slow today oh that's cool Ted 22:58 look at 23:00 this that's 23:04 beautiful that is very nice I like it 23:08 it's Saturday Night Live at the AI 23:11 learning lab Jeffrey Lombardo what do 23:15 you mean by index of all YouTube so okay 23:18 so three days 23:24 before so 6 months ago B duck google.com 23:29 was like unusably 23:31 bad and then sometime in July it just 23:34 got better and it 23:37 was they they put Palm 2 was the engine 23:40 sitting underneath it it was sometime 23:42 after Palm 2 came out it got better but 23:45 it got better and it got usable and it 23:47 was connected to the internet and how 23:49 they integrated internet stuff was 23:51 really good and then throughout the fall 23:54 Bard was just getting consistently 23:56 better it like wasn't you know anywh 23:58 where near gp4 but it was just 24:01 consistently a usable 24:04 option and then like three days before 24:07 the Gemini announcement um I saw on 24:11 Twitter somewhere somewhere some 24:13 somewhere else that um b.google.r 24:28 amazing like it would write chapters and 24:30 it would it would link you over to to 24:33 YouTube at that particular point in a 24:35 video it was pretty 24:38 slick and then when Gemini came out I 24:41 was like oh let me go test Gemini on 24:43 YouTube and it was like I'm sorry Dave 24:45 I'm afraid I can't do that um so so 24:50 let's go we'll go test it now maybe 24:52 maybe this was a 24:54 temporary here's Bard see they have a 24:57 they have a YouTube oh wait right here 25:01 they have research a topic and there's a 25:03 YouTube thing so if I 25:13 say I bought a fig leaf plant find me 25:16 YouTube videos of 25:18 it so here's YouTube 25:21 videos so you can you can ask it to find 25:25 your YouTube videos but if I go over to 25:27 YouTube 25:35 and let me go over to the 25:38 AI let's see if our multimodal model 25:41 Gemini can guess some movies let me go 25:43 over to AI learning lab let's see if our 25:47 multi and then I'm going to go to my 25:50 [Music] 25:52 Channel all right so here's some videos 25:54 of me blabbering on a on Tik Tok lives 25:59 and so I'm going to copy this URL and 26:01 I'm going to go over to 26:04 Bard and I'm going to go 26:08 please 26:11 sumarize this 26:14 video paste paste in the 26:19 URL and its 26:21 response as a large language model I'm 26:24 not able to assist you with 26:26 that I did this this week this worked 26:30 this week and now and now it doesn't so 26:33 so give it time I know I know like all 26:37 this stuff like it's going to get there 26:39 but I don't know that's frustrating so 26:41 anyway that's uh that's Gemini you can 26:45 go play so if you go to bard.com right 26:47 now like what I would strongly suggest 26:50 is go to chat 26:52 GPT and go to 26:54 Bard and you know do the same kind of 26:57 prompts with 26:59 them let's see if I go to chat 27:03 GPT 27:05 [Applause] 27:07 chat I'm in chat GPT 27:10 3.5 let's 27:27 see 27:30 let me 27:37 do 27:40 create 10 27:43 names I'm going to try to give it a 27:45 shitty 27:46 prompt create 10 27:48 names and a 27:52 tagline 27:55 for a pizza a 27:59 shop that also 28:02 sells 28:06 flowers all 28:08 right so it did that pretty fast let's 28:11 see Pizza petals were flavor blooms and 28:14 pizza 28:16 rules floralicious Pizzeria that's 28:19 horrible pizza and petals 28:22 Paradise Pizza Bloom 28:26 Emporium 28:29 uh uh uh uh where roses and pizzas unite 28:32 all right well it it did it okay I mean 28:35 it's they're not great but they're not 28:38 chat gp4 level but let's go to 28:41 Bard we'll create a new chat so we're 28:43 starting pristine we'll put in the exact 28:45 same prompt we'll see how quick it 28:51 is Bloom and bite where happiness 28:55 blossoms one slice at a time that's not 28:57 bad The Petal and Pie that's good flour 29:00 and Flora that's actually really good 29:02 fresh from the oven and the Garden Pizza 29:05 Blossom where deliciousness meets Beauty 29:08 the posie pie I actually think bards are 29:10 better 29:11 here um pedal and pepperoni all right so 29:15 that's that all right let's go let's go 29:18 back here we'll do a new 29:21 chat we'll do 29:26 um 29:41 explain the Battle of Gettysburg in a 29:45 short 29:52 poem all right it's short good in 29:56 Gettysburg Fields Army clashed the 29:58 nation torn chaos L blue and gray 30:01 fiercely fought principles for 30:04 principles ideals they sought three days 30:06 of strife with cannons Roar Brothers 30:09 against Brothers in a Bloody War pickets 30:11 charge a desperate Quest the union lines 30:13 held firm no rest from turning point on 30:16 Pennsylvania 30:19 soil okay so that's not too 30:24 bad let's go see what Bard does with 30:27 that new 30:30 [Music] 30:36 chat in fields of green a clash AR Rose 30:38 brother against brother foes Gettysburg 30:41 Hill saw saw bravery bold as courage met 30:44 the Winner's cold Three Days of Thunder 30:46 smoke and pain a Winner's fate hung in 30:49 the rain pickets charge a final stand 30:52 broken lines upon the sand from Blood 30:55 and Tears a promise made 30:59 a nation's heart forever swaye though 31:01 wounds May heal the scars remain 31:03 Gettysburg Whispers Freedom gain again I 31:06 think I think Bard's a little better 31:09 there interesting Kyle go to your chat 31:12 with me when I showed you the feature 31:15 and use the prompt I gave you uh Joker 31:26 hold 31:56 de 31:58 which one are you talking about 32:02 Joker when I showed you the feature 32:05 which 32:15 feature yeah that's that's the 32:18 one make sure the extension is 32:26 on 32:31 oh I don't I don't want to put on an 32:33 extension is it a is it a Google 32:35 extension or is it just an extension 32:37 from someone else that searches 32:39 YouTube I'm talking about it searching 32:42 it natively that's that's what I'm 32:43 looking 32:51 for so give me insights of this video 32:56 URL let me go grab it 33:08 copy yeah let see it now refuses to do 33:13 it Joker mod mods Pinn Joker's comment 33:17 they did but I don't know which prompt 33:20 you're talking about summarize this 33:22 video and put it in a bulleted list yeah 33:24 it's not doing it now if if there's a an 33:28 extension to do that well of course 33:30 it'll do it that's an extension that I'm 33:32 talking about it doing it natively it 33:34 did it natively earlier this 33:36 week so I don't know any thoughts on qar 33:40 and impacts on novel physics discoveries 33:43 um well yeah if well 33:49 there's the only thing we know about qar 33:52 for sure is that the 33:55 letter Sam Alman said said that the 33:57 letter about qar which was an 34:00 unfortunate 34:01 leak so the letter was from employees at 34:05 open AI to the board saying that they 34:08 had effectively achieved 34:10 AGI 34:11 so Sam Alman said that was a leak so he 34:14 confirms that it's there we don't know 34:16 what it is we don't know you know what 34:19 its implications are how it's going to 34:21 be productized or not um we don't we 34:24 don't really know anything about it 34:25 until they say something about it 34:28 use Dan do anything now well no I don't 34:31 like sure I could I could I could 34:34 jailbreak bar or attempt to jailbreak 34:36 bar to get it to to um do something but 34:40 what I'm what I'm trying to do here is 34:41 just like see what it does without 34:44 hacking it like sure if you if you hack 34:46 these things you can you can get them to 34:47 do all sorts of [ __ ] I'm more interested 34:50 in in what's going on the the thing 34:52 about novel physics Discovery uh TK or 34:56 tikai is is um if you look at what deep 35:00 mine just released with Material Science 35:04 um deep mine just found 2.2 million new 35:07 materials 380,000 of which are stable 35:11 crystals um the previous entire known 35:17 material stable Crystal materials world 35:21 was 35:23 48,000 and now it's 380,000 because of 35:26 Deep Mind 35:28 it's a default barred extension I just 35:30 did it it's not third party it's a 35:32 default barred 35:34 extension so if I go to where's the 35:37 where are the extensions in barard 35:40 Joker use the light 35:50 theme it's a default B extension I just 35:53 did 35:56 it 35:58 sorry for being a dumb dumb but I don't 36:01 I don't know where extensions are within 36:03 Bard am I missing something I'm 36:06 obviously I'm missing 36:11 something add account sign 36:18 out Bard 36:21 YouTube hang 36:26 on 36:28 Bard YouTube 36:38 extension introducing extensions oh 36:42 let's go learn together it's hard to 36:44 make an idea come to life when the 36:46 information you need is in different 36:48 places but now you can collaborate with 36:51 the world's information and your own all 36:54 in one place with Bard with extensions 36:57 Bard can now connect to Google's apps 37:00 and even gives you the option to pull in 37:01 your own 37:03 information to make it all come 37:06 together like when you're making a 37:09 plan please tell me you're going to show 37:11 us how to do 37:16 [Music] 37:19 [Applause] 37:25 this hamburger menu on the 37:28 phone hamburger menu on the 37:41 phone oh within 37:56 YouTube 38:01 do me do me a favor 38:03 Joker it's a default B extension I just 38:06 did it it's not third 38:12 party it's just in the settings it's not 38:15 that difficult okay here I'm in the 38:18 settings use light theme respond once 38:21 complete your public 38:23 links my settings for what for YouTube 38:26 or for Bard I'm in Bard I'm at 38:29 b.google.r 38:47 that I can't find 38:50 this where it's only in 38:54 Bard it's only in Bard I'm in bard okay 38:57 hamburger menu 39:00 no it's only in 39:03 Bard 39:06 where Kyle 39:08 have Joker joined the live for the love 39:11 of 39:16 God all 39:17 [Laughter] 39:20 right oh my 39:25 God 39:27 question mark in the settings evening 39:29 tonight talking about Gemini hey Joker 39:31 hey hello everyone uh it's extension 39:35 hello Joker oh wait I don't think I have 39:37 my phone audio up what's 39:40 happening uh hey hey Kyle how everyone 39:42 uh it's a um it's a puzzle piece next to 39:46 the um your profile picture on the right 39:48 hand side is the extensions it should be 39:50 on by default um should be your profile 39:54 pick little square thingies the gear 39:56 here for settings question mark and then 39:58 extensions as a puzzle 40:04 piece this thing on yeah yeah hang 40:13 on there's 40:16 classroom right right above your right 40:19 there you see me see you see the profile 40:22 picture look on your right hand corner 40:25 yeah okay what's that what's next to 40:27 your going to your left to the left is 40:30 the the for the you know the and then 40:32 that toe 40:35 box I don't see your extensions there's 40:37 a puzzle piece next to mine says 40:40 extensions yeah I got nothing well you 40:44 know what this could be so my my Google 40:47 account is a work workspace account it's 40:49 not an individual account that's yeah 40:52 that could be it it's got a extendes to 40:55 Google Flights Google Google Maps Google 40:58 workspace and YouTube all on by default 41:00 so hang 41:02 on that's probably it let me let me 41:04 switch my accounts to to a different 41:06 Gmail account 41:09 sure because this th this will at least 41:13 make me feel less 41:15 insane oh yeah now I got a puzzle piece 41:18 all right all right and YouTube's on 41:22 okay all right so so it's so again p so 41:27 all right Joker thanks 41:31 man all right 41:34 so this 41:37 is 41:39 um turn on dual camera again so this 41:42 this is this is an important thing to 41:46 know and this is frustrating as 41:49 [ __ ] so so first of all there's a lot of 41:53 cool things that Google does if you 41:56 don't pay for it if you pay for Google 42:00 they're not giving you any of the new 42:02 [ __ ] because they're not doing new [ __ ] 42:04 for workspace 42:06 accounts I assume because the 42:08 permissions for workspace accounts are a 42:11 nightmare so they're just doing it with 42:12 individual accounts but the the the 42:15 effect on end users is so let me get 42:18 this straight if I pay for Google I 42:21 don't get to use the new [ __ ] which is 42:24 the complete opposite of every other 42:25 software company out there right you 42:28 know chat GPT you pay your 20 bucks a 42:30 month they give you access to the new 42:32 [ __ ] Google you pay your 42:35 2857 a month and you don't get anything 42:39 so so anyway all right but now I know so 42:42 if I if I want to do if I want to do 42:45 barred YouTube searches I have to use my 42:49 individual account I think that is a 42:53 pile of crap but I I like I get I 42:56 understand why why they're doing it I'm 42:57 just saying it is it is a crappy user 43:01 experience all 43:03 right good Lord people good lord I can't 43:08 I can't it's it's like we're trying to 43:09 land the plane after the pilots had a 43:12 heart attack it's totally like that all 43:14 right let's let's start 43:18 over hi everybody my name is Kyle 43:21 Shannon I am 43:23 clueless I but I wasn't so okay it in my 43:27 defense it it wasn't 43:30 me it wasn't 43:32 [Laughter] 43:39 [Music] 43:40 [Applause] 43:41 me we'll bring this live to 10,000 likes 43:45 oh yeah we're only at 5,000 likes people 43:47 we go to we got to up the game there I 43:49 don't know why you wouldn't be liking 43:51 this you're not enjoying watching an old 43:53 man flail trying to get his computer to 43:55 work it's like a bad Comedy Channel this 43:58 is like an SNL skit that's not funny 44:00 like like SNL 44:04 skits and 44:11 [Music] 44:14 scene all right let's start over we have 44:17 Ted's lovely ornament for the AI 44:20 learning lab that's our AI learning lab 44:22 ornament from Ted it's lovely it's 44:25 lovely 44:28 my mouth's all dry 44:31 now that was you know what that I'll 44:33 tell you what that experience was like 44:36 that was like having a dream that you 44:39 were live on Tik Tok and all you had to 44:41 do was find the puzzle piece on screen 44:44 and for an hour you couldn't find the 44:47 puzzle piece on 44:49 screen it was just like a nightmare 44:52 except it was real 44:55 life 45:04 [Music] 45:07 all right 45:11 fantastic just left of question in 45:15 zero Kyle have sherry do have Joker join 45:20 join for the love of God we did we 45:22 solved it we it's good we're all good 45:25 this is awesome 45:26 yeah I don't know your definition of off 45:29 awesome Jeffrey Lombardo but I'm pretty 45:30 sure you need a 45:32 dictionary that seemed that seemed to me 45:35 the absolute opposite of 45:38 awesome this is your brain on AI 45:40 learning lab 45:45 [ __ ] here let me just drink a little 45:47 more 45:48 Windex 45:52 oh I can't find it either yeah mpy 45:56 because you probably pay for your 45:58 Google the Madlibs challenges are so 46:01 creative I know they're really good 46:02 aren't they so so actually why don't I I 46:04 haven't talked about the uh I haven't 46:07 talked about the AI salon so let me go 46:11 look at some of these images 46:13 here mad lies challenge with a 46:18 Twist so Danielle Be not Afraid on the 46:22 AI Salon has like twice a week now been 46:25 putting out these Mad Libs challenges 46:27 where she'll write a prompt with 46:29 variables in it and then the community 46:32 goes and makes 46:34 images like swell images like that by 46:38 changing up the Mad Lib and they're 46:41 really cool oh these are 46:44 beautiful here's one from Sherry Banks 46:46 Oh Sherry Banks snuck a hedgehog in 46:50 there the little hedgehog very 46:53 nice oh that's beautiful lunar 46:58 stick very very cool Be not Afraid 47:02 what's 47:06 happening very 47:13 cool yeah that's the new one and let's 47:15 go here's her here's her previous one 47:18 Challenge 47:25 three 47:27 so like I'll read Challenge three so 47:29 Challenge three wait lunar stick such a 47:31 great Community event to participate in 47:33 yeah it's really cool create a detailed 47:35 artwork of a adjective SL type of 47:39 building that stands in a world where 47:41 elements of historical era and 47:45 futuristic element coexist oh that's 47:47 cool use your artistic medium to blend 47:50 these themes together creating a sense 47:52 of emotion in your in your depiction and 47:57 her her example prompt for number three 47:59 was create a detailed artwork of a 48:01 replica of the US White House shown off 48:04 in the distance that stands in a world 48:06 where everything else is part of the 48:08 Paleolithic Era and futuristic Holograms 48:12 are walking around coexisting please use 48:15 Vivid colors and the photorealistic and 48:17 HD capabilities to blend these themes 48:19 creating a sense of awe and wonder in 48:21 your depiction and so there's her paleo 48:26 holographic White House super 48:30 cool so 48:36 cool there's a 2001 theme themed one 48:41 very cool from 48:44 lunatick Roger 48:46 Scott Roger's killing it with the art 48:50 Roger is an ex software engineer that 48:51 has discovered his artistic voice in the 48:54 AI Salon okay so that's the AI Salon 48:58 it's it's a super cool Community let me 48:59 let me tell you about 49:02 it number one thing about the AI Salon 49:05 it doesn't cost money to join it's I got 49:07 that the other night I'm like oh go 49:09 check out this AI Salon what's it going 49:11 to cost us oh he's just in sales mode no 49:15 we got a cool Community I'm like saying 49:17 come join 49:21 it this is in show in Joker Joker he's 49:27 got the got the llamas going the llamas 49:29 are at 49:31 church the 49:36 Puritans whoa Vicky Vicky doing a new 49:40 ornament I like the ornaments that's a 49:43 that's a cool that's a cool thing to do 49:45 so what you should do if you're a part 49:46 of the 49:48 jrc the eu's got their thing um if 49:52 you're part of the AI Salon I like go do 49:55 uh Danielle's um Mad Libs number four 49:59 which is in Leah's art group and then in 50:01 Show and Tell maybe do something I love 50:03 these ornaments maybe do some ornaments 50:04 we can get a whole bunch of ornaments 50:06 going um and let me tell you about the 50:09 AI 50:15 Salon all right there's our cool new 50:17 logo and the URL so if you go to that 50:20 URL that's a link tree the very first 50:23 link is the link to the community which 50:25 is a mighty networks's community so just 50:27 click on the first link and then go sign 50:31 up and um when you get to the site it 50:35 should dump you right 50:44 into welcome to the salon to this page 50:48 and in this page you see that 50:50 groovy that groovy image of the 50:52 adventurers heading off on their big 50:54 adventure um and it talks about who we 50:57 are why we're doing what we're doing and 50:59 then we talk about our values things 51:01 like curiosity and generosity and 51:05 exploration and 51:08 collaboration and inclusion and empathy 51:11 and so my request is if this sounds 51:15 interesting to you go check out the 51:17 values make sure you resonate with them 51:19 and if you do join us and then go to the 51:24 Welcome Wagon and int ruce yourself so 51:26 tell us who you are tell us what you do 51:30 tell us where you are in your AI journey 51:32 I don't know tell us something cool 51:33 about 51:34 yourself and then go to show and tell 51:37 and show and tell go make some stuff 51:39 while we're while I'm blabbing here 51:41 trying to figure out how to use the 51:43 internet go make a super cool train that 51:45 says he learning lab like Ted did that's 51:48 that's really beautiful actually like I 51:50 want that under my 51:51 tree I don't have a tree right now but 51:54 you know that is super 51:57 cool and it looks like it's end Gage is 52:00 that no is end gagee really small what's 52:02 the bigger one I forget what it 52:04 is but that's super 52:08 cool let's see what else we got we got 52:12 there's Vicky's 52:14 ornament 52:16 jrc's it's Saturday 52:22 night Chris 52:24 ramsy 52:26 any experience making a cal wait oh my 52:29 experience making calend wait experience 52:32 my calendar making 52:34 GPT calendars are a great gift idea oh 52:37 that's 52:39 cool what a great idea well that is a 52:41 great 52:44 idea 52:45 huh let's go play with 52:51 it provides creative and practical 52:53 guidance for Designing 12month calendars 52:58 what are the best fonts for calendar 52:59 dates how do I arrange 53:01 photos how should I design my January 53:05 page I'm going to go where do I 53:11 begin 53:13 if I want a 53:16 cal 53:18 calendar 53:21 featuring 53:24 odd animals like 53:27 llamas 53:30 hedgehogs 53:35 Turtles gummy bears and blue rubber 53:41 ducks these are now the official animals 53:43 of the AI learning lab so we're going to 53:47 go make a 53:50 calendar theme 53:53 development choosing images 53:56 monthly themes design 53:58 layout special 54:08 [Music] 54:15 dates 54:16 um make me January 54:22 image I don't know if he's got images 54:24 turned on oh he does 54:30 good random thoughts December ornaments 54:33 January snowflakes February Hearts March 54:35 Shamrocks oh that's cool yeah those are 54:37 good my hunch is the issues related to 54:40 data and privacy restrictions not really 54:42 sure though that's exactly my thought 54:44 Pate is the minute I start thinking 54:46 about the 54:48 um nested permissions within like the 54:51 complexity of permissions within Google 54:53 workspace it makes sense to me that 54:56 they're not going to give you know 54:58 access to a bunch of AI superpowers that 55:01 could invade all of your space but the 55:05 fact that it's um it's the paying 55:08 customers that are being punished 55:10 effectively is kind of 55:14 shitty like I said I understand why it's 55:16 happening it's just it's not it's not 55:19 it's not for happy making is it free uh 55:23 I'm at work and some stuff came down the 55:26 tube and about three people gathered 55:29 around me while I was 55:37 helping sorry sorry about that 55:40 joker about the about the professional 55:43 demerits for hanging out on Tik Tock 55:46 while you're at work sorry about that 55:52 buddy oh well what are you going to do 55:57 oh that's really funny well hopefully 56:00 the your your co-workers have a sense of 56:02 humor or 56:06 patience oh 56:11 man let's 56:13 see I just fumbled around accidentally 56:16 shared the 56:18 live I was watching with myself that's 56:21 funny um you can increase the font if 56:24 you need to Kyle wink wink yeah I could 56:26 do that I could make it on easy easier 56:29 on people to see the you know what the 56:31 one of the problems is when I have my 56:35 screen at normal brightness so I can see 56:38 it it's totally blown out on Tik Tok so 56:41 I have to lower the brightness to the 56:43 point that I can't see the interface 56:45 anymore so most most of the time when 56:47 I'm demoing chat GPT I'm like squinting 56:50 trying to see the 56:51 screen so it's just it's just at some 56:55 some point I'm going to turn this into a 56:56 professional operation and then you guys 56:59 watch it then it's going to be less 57:04 fun there's something about the Jank of 57:08 this 57:09 production that that is appropriate for 57:12 the level of where AI is right now by 57:14 the way if you're new to AI one thing 57:17 you should do is go to chat GPT right 57:20 now and and you know what because P's 57:22 here you should also go to Bard right 57:24 now 57:26 but just go to chat 57:29 GPT and let me get you the 57:34 URL you can look it up but for whatever 57:36 reason this is confusing to people 57:38 because it's not just a clear URL so 57:42 that's your url chat. 57:46 open.com and then the other place worth 57:50 going is b.google.r 57:54 sitting underneath 57:56 that and so just go there and play with 58:00 these things and just ask them to write 58:02 you poems ask them to write you computer 58:04 programs oh that was something I wanted 58:06 to someone told me Pate that Bard can 58:08 not only write code but it can it can 58:11 run it and I don't know if that's true 58:13 and I don't know if that's an extension 58:15 so if that's an extension that's not 58:17 really something I can demo although I 58:19 can switch to the other account I 58:20 suppose but if you're new to this stuff 58:22 if you're new to this AI stuff 58:26 go play with chat 58:29 GPT until you have what I call your 58:33 Kevin McAllister 58:36 moment please make that Google stock 58:38 inrease so my son can 58:41 eat did the did the stock take a hit 58:43 after after the you faked your video 58:46 [ __ ] came out because that would 58:49 suck um is everyone being weight listed 58:52 still oh that's the other thing no I 58:53 forgot to say that 58:56 as of yesterday I saw a number of people 58:59 in the AI salon and a number of people 59:01 on here last night that you can export 59:04 it into collab I don't know doesn't seem 59:06 to be an 59:07 extension oh you can you can export it 59:10 into collab you know doesn't seem to be 59:12 an extension okay cool 59:15 um a number of people last night that 59:18 have been on the waight list for chat 59:20 GPT 4 said they got invites to try chat 59:23 GPT 4 so 59:26 if you're on the wait list go to chat 59:27 gp4 and check your it says if you go to 59:31 your account it says my plan and go into 59:34 your plan and see if it's available 59:37 here's my recommendation assuming you 59:39 can afford the 20 bucks a month don't do 59:41 it if you can't afford it assuming you 59:43 can afford the 20 bucks a month if 59:45 you've got access to chat gp4 [ __ ] 59:49 grab 59:49 it because they shut down access to it 59:52 about a month ago and they've been kind 59:54 of tight lipped about when it's coming 59:56 back and then just as of yesterday some 59:58 people that in the community are are 1:00:01 saying like oh it looks like I've got an 1:00:03 invite should I do it 1:00:07 yes chat gp4 is by far the best deal in 1:00:11 software right now like what it does for 1:00:13 20 bucks a month is 1:00:16 astounding I got off the wait list and 1:00:18 subscribed yesterday yes they call me 1:00:20 tater tot that's [ __ ] 10 out of 10 on 1:00:23 the name 10 out of 10 in fact you can 1:00:27 make money 1:00:28 with you get a golden 1:00:32 button this is it's just like America's 1:00:35 Got Talent around 1:00:37 here except shittier and you don't get a 1:00:41 Vegas 1:00:42 [Laughter] 1:00:52 act there are people in here saying they 1:00:54 watch this instead of TV now how bad is 1:00:58 TV that this is the 1:01:03 entertainment where can I subscribe 1:01:05 sorry all right let me show you where to 1:01:07 subscribe at chat gbt so you go there 1:01:10 chat. open.com and then you will come to 1:01:13 this page it'll look something like this 1:01:15 probably like 1:01:17 that and then down the left hand side 1:01:21 you're G to 1:01:22 see I think you're just going to see 1:01:24 like that your prompt history and it'll 1:01:27 say chat GPT 3.5 right there click on 1:01:29 your name and go to my 1:01:32 plan and then in here if it says 1:01:36 upgrades your plan and and it's active 1:01:40 like my current plan is plus I'm paying 1:01:42 20 bucks a 1:01:43 month if if it's allowing you to upgrade 1:01:46 to plus do it just do it do it do it and 1:01:52 if it's not get on the wait list sign up 1:01:54 for the wait list 1:01:56 and then your chat GPT will go from 1:01:58 looking like 1:01:59 this to looking like 1:02:02 this and you're like but Kyle it's 1:02:06 exactly the same no it's not look this 1:02:10 is 1:02:11 free this is $20 a 1:02:17 month you're like but Kyle I don't see 1:02:21 the difference well you got to pay 1:02:23 attention people 1:02:27 I it is only the the neuros spices in 1:02:30 the channel that can see the difference 1:02:32 the OCD pattern matchers in the group in 1:02:34 the room see that little 1:02:37 thing that's what you get for 20 bucks a 1:02:40 month you get that look watch me I'll go 1:02:43 to chat gbt 345 look it's 1:02:47 gone 1:02:48 see now that little 1:02:51 thing what that indicates is wait I 1:02:54 signed up for po thinking that's a good 1:02:56 stand in while I wait yeah I I I think 1:02:59 it actually is I you 1:03:01 know um especially so so there's a 1:03:05 couple of things about po that I think 1:03:06 are interesting you can play with lots 1:03:08 of different models there they have a 1:03:11 bot Builder just like 1:03:15 gpts you can monetize those Bots you can 1:03:18 sell your Poots right now and we have to 1:03:20 wait for chat 1:03:22 gpts um and I don't think it's a bad 1:03:24 thing 1:03:25 to learn multiple tools that do Sim 1:03:29 similar things we don't know who's going 1:03:31 to 1:03:33 win um and you know open AI almost 1:03:37 exploded themselves three weeks ago so 1:03:41 so why not why not HED your bets why 1:03:46 not 1:03:48 um so what does this little paperclick 1:03:50 mean what it means is you've got 1:03:52 multimodal chat GPT you can upload 1:03:55 images to it and have it describe the 1:03:56 image you can have it thank you micro I 1:04:00 appreciate that tonight I'm not feeling 1:04:02 like the best tonight I'm feeling I'm 1:04:04 feeling like a janky 1:04:06 ass I'm feeling like chat GPT 1:04:12 2.2 it sort of makes 1:04:16 words oh so you have to be a PO member 1:04:19 to use a bot you paid for I don't think 1:04:22 so no I uh I don't 1:04:25 I don't 1:04:27 know I don't know I haven't monetized 1:04:30 any of my bots over at po I probably 1:04:33 should just to learn how to do it we 1:04:35 could we could go play with that I could 1:04:37 go experiment and see see if I turn on 1:04:40 monetization although I think I have to 1:04:41 you have to hook up like your bank 1:04:43 account and I don't know there as I 1:04:46 recall there was [ __ ] you had to do to 1:04:48 monetize your Bots at po that felt like 1:04:51 oh God that feels like work that's what 1:04:55 one of the things one of the things that 1:04:57 you'll get on this channel that you 1:04:58 might not get on other channels is 1:05:02 um it is my it is my hearty 1:05:05 recommendation that right now with AI 1:05:07 you treat it more like you're playing 1:05:09 games than you're doing work just 1:05:13 because things are moving so fast that 1:05:16 just have fun with it and then if you 1:05:18 stumble on it doing amazing things along 1:05:21 the way great 1:05:23 bonus 1:05:25 oh we need janky merchandise we do you 1:05:27 you know what I should do is I 1:05:31 should I should do a whole series of 1:05:33 shirts for the for the AI learning lab 1:05:36 where like all the graphics are crooked 1:05:39 just everything is janky it just 1:05:41 everything looks like Factory 1:05:43 [Laughter] 1:05:48 seconds Kyle sir you are a Dynamo we we 1:05:52 appreciate your commitment to the AI 1:05:53 learning lab I appreciate it the fact 1:05:56 that I didn't just run away crying 1:05:58 trying trying to get barred to work is 1:06:01 uh it's a testament to my commitment to 1:06:04 y'all thank you though I appreciate the 1:06:06 kind 1:06:08 words um the plots were not great but 1:06:11 the roots were 1:06:13 correct I don't know what that's in 1:06:15 reference 1:06:15 [Music] 1:06:17 to it's a total playground hopping 1:06:20 experience it is that's that's it right 1:06:22 now is just yeah in fact you know I 1:06:26 haven't done this tonight it's Saturday 1:06:28 night we got 100 people in here there's 1:06:29 probably a bunch of people in here that 1:06:30 haven't done any haven't been here 1:06:32 before let me I'm going to quickly run 1:06:34 through a bunch of different um websites 1:06:38 that you know a AI tools that I think 1:06:42 you should be experimenting with what's 1:06:44 the difference between 3.5 and four okay 1:06:46 so Dr J Arthur here's what I'll do I'm 1:06:48 going to go through a list of things 1:06:51 just take screenshots for these and then 1:06:54 you can if you have gp4 you can upload 1:06:58 these into it and it'll type them out 1:06:59 for you 1:07:01 um and then I'll go over and and we'll 1:07:04 play with chat GPT 3 3.5 and four and 1:07:07 I'll show you the difference it's going 1:07:09 to take it's going 1:07:11 to showing the difference between 3.5 1:07:15 and four takes a while because four is 1:07:17 actually really deep I you know I was 1:07:19 kind of jokingly saying for 20 bucks you 1:07:21 get the little paper clip what it does 1:07:24 is actually really deep so so I'll I'll 1:07:27 go show you that um but let me go 1:07:30 through this so this is where you should 1:07:31 start out if you're a developer you can 1:07:34 go play in the playground if you're not 1:07:36 a developer if you're not geeky and you 1:07:39 don't like geeking out just ignore this 1:07:41 half so chat GPT is the consumer side of 1:07:45 open AI this is where the developers go 1:07:47 to build [ __ ] all right if you like 1:07:50 geeking out feel free to go there it's 1:07:52 fun there's there's cool things you can 1:07:54 learn about temperature and different 1:07:55 models and what they do and read 1:07:57 documentation if that sort of stuff 1:07:59 floats your boat great if it doesn't 1:08:01 just ignore it just like that just 1:08:05 ignore it all right okay now here's what 1:08:08 you should also be 1:08:10 doing um if you're a an X Premium Plus 1:08:16 subscriber you have access to grock if 1:08:18 you're not I don't think it's worth 1:08:20 paying for um I'm paying 16 bucks a 1:08:23 month and this is kind of like if chat 1:08:26 GPT 3.5 were shittier and snarkier is is 1:08:31 pretty much how to describe that um 1:08:33 claude's really good there's a free 1:08:35 version of Claude um and it's it's 1:08:39 probably the closest thing to a chat GPT 1:08:41 competitor right now Bard has Gemini 1:08:44 Plus or Gemini Pro sitting underneath it 1:08:46 now which is worth playing with and then 1:08:49 co-pilot is Microsoft version of chat 1:08:52 GPT 4 and it's free 1:08:55 now is it the same as chat GPT for at 1:08:58 open AI it's not why because it's a 1:09:02 completely different application they're 1:09:04 both using the same 1:09:06 underlying um large language model GPT 4 1:09:09 but but it's sitting on top of it as an 1:09:12 application layer and the you know 1:09:14 Microsoft is over here open AI is over 1:09:16 here and Microsoft is just it's not as 1:09:19 good it's just not as good um but it's 1:09:22 still you still have access to a lot of 1:09:24 the same 1:09:25 capabilities for free okay so screenshot 1:09:31 that these are your your specialty llms 1:09:35 so Pi is designed for conversation so if 1:09:38 you go get the mobile apps of 1:09:40 Pi you can put them into conversation 1:09:43 mode and they talk to you and there's 1:09:45 Voice number five is the one to go with 1:09:47 so I'm on my iPad here but anyway I'm 1:09:50 going to go to my PI app and then in the 1:09:53 lower right hand corner there's a little 1:09:54 phone 1:09:59 icon hey it's Saturday night and I'm a 1:10:02 gen xer what music should I be listening 1:10:05 to to get in the party 1:10:12 [Music] 1:10:16 mood haha you got a point Saturday night 1:10:19 is definitely party time for the Gent or 1:10:21 ex crowd if you want to feel that old 1:10:23 school party Vibe I'd recommend some 1:10:25 classic hits from the 80s like Whip It 1:10:27 by Dil Rock the Casper by The Clash or 1:10:30 even Billy Jean by Michael 1:10:33 Jackson isn't she 1:10:36 cute she's Voice number five or 1:10:40 five is Claude multimodal Claude is not 1:10:43 multimodal yet all of these things are 1:10:45 going to go multimodal in 2024 I have a 1:10:50 feeling so the thing to know about 1:10:52 Claude is that Claud is from a company 1:10:55 called 1:10:56 anthropic the team at anthropic broke 1:10:59 off from open AI they didn't like how 1:11:01 they were doing safety so they have 1:11:02 their own idea of safety it's a thing 1:11:04 called the Constitutional learning model 1:11:06 and they're doing really well because 1:11:09 they understand how chat GPT works 1:11:11 because they built it they built chat 1:11:14 gpt3 or they built gpt3 which chat GPT 1:11:17 was built on top of um so that team's 1:11:20 that team's really capable in fact they 1:11:22 asked the CEO to come back to run open 1:11:25 AI when they fired Sam Alman for 3 Days 1:11:27 5 days whatever it was okay so that's 1:11:31 that's those um perplexity is really 1:11:33 good at uh research po like I said you 1:11:37 can make Bots there you can monetize 1:11:39 those Bots and you can play with lots of 1:11:40 different models lots of different llms 1:11:43 within the same interface um 1:11:46 so I'm I'm back and forth of whether or 1:11:49 not the 20 bucks a month for PO is worth 1:11:51 it but right now I'm kind of leaning 1:11:54 leaning towards it because I was I was 1:11:56 waiting for Gemini to come out and 1:11:58 because Gemini half came out um I'm now 1:12:02 back to thinking there might be another 1:12:04 one worth paying for I would say I would 1:12:06 say chat G pt4 from open AI is 1:12:09 absolutely worth paying for it's a 1:12:12 tossup for me right now between Po and 1:12:16 Claude um there's your image generation 1:12:20 tools Dolly 3 is what you use within 1:12:23 chat G pt4 it's also what you use within 1:12:26 co-pilot from Microsoft mid Journey you 1:12:29 have to pay for you have to make your 1:12:31 images in inside 1:12:33 Discord any AI that works with Spotify I 1:12:36 don't know in what sense works with 1:12:37 Spotify how like that makes it easier to 1:12:41 find 1:12:43 [ __ ] um we can when I go play with uh 1:12:46 GPT 4 gp4 is connected to the internet 1:12:50 so you might be able to do some sort of 1:12:52 Spotify playlist there but I I don't 1:12:54 know I doubt it since you have to log in 1:12:57 um Leonardo is stable diffusion so this 1:13:00 is a web front end to stable diffusion 1:13:02 and stable diffusion is a whole world in 1:13:04 and of itself if you like geeking out 1:13:07 stable diffusion is your image generator 1:13:09 of choice if you don't like geeking out 1:13:11 then Dolly 3 is the way to go uh and 1:13:14 then Firefly from Adobe is pretty good 1:13:16 and and 1:13:18 interesting here are your video creation 1:13:20 tools Runway ml Moon Valley and P labs 1:13:23 are your text to video um things Visa's 1:13:27 like corporate video and then haen and 1:13:30 did are 1:13:32 Avatar making tools but haen also has a 1:13:36 translator that's kind of 1:13:39 mindblowing um in fact Let me let me go 1:13:44 show 1:13:47 you is it here no I don't have it 1:13:52 open 1:14:06 so hey 1:14:07 Jen 1:14:09 does this 1:14:13 [ __ ] so we've heard from a number of 1:14:16 clients that modular content is 1:14:17 important to them getting more efficient 1:14:19 with how we create content and how we 1:14:21 leverage 1:14:22 content 1:14:30 behind me you see these little green 1:14:32 boxes um that's how we think about 1:14:33 stories at Story vine we break stories 1:14:35 down into little atoms right little 1:14:38 modules 1:14:44 the A Story 1:14:46 vine I've never said Story vine like 1:14:49 that in my life but now I do and then I 1:14:51 I don't know if you knew this it 1:14:53 probably is obvious by looking at me and 1:14:56 listening to How articulate I am uh but 1:14:58 I also know I'm fluent in Mandarin 1:15:02 [Music] 1:15:15 Chinese I don't I I don't like to brag 1:15:19 but I'm worldly what can I say but 1:15:22 you're thinking like Kyle you just look 1:15:24 like white trash and I'm like sure 1:15:26 that's what I look like but are you just 1:15:28 going to go by superficial looks no I 1:15:31 mean yeah I'm super model beautiful I 1:15:34 understand that but I go so much 1:15:38 deeper so anyway that's hey Jen hey Jen 1:15:41 makes you look like you can speak other 1:15:42 languages and you can hey Kyle talking 1:15:46 Mandarin using Ai and what he wanted to 1:15:48 know is what does a native speaker think 1:15:50 let's find 1:15:52 out Story 1:15:54 by that was Kyle yeah kanding is really 1:15:59 good it's talking about did you hear 1:16:01 that he said my Mandarin is really good 1:16:03 did you hear that I don't like to 1:16:06 brag AI some story something yeah yeah 1:16:10 okay well it was AI yeah it was AI it 1:16:13 was AI it was AI yeah it wasn't him oh 1:16:15 he 1:16:16 AI interesting isn't it see Kyle he 1:16:20 didn't even realize so so that's hey Jen 1:16:23 pretty wild huh 1:16:26 [Music] 1:16:29 um and then uh Runway TV is really 1:16:33 interesting um it's think of Runway TV 1:16:37 like janky TV so think of Runway TV as 1:16:42 as if this channel were a Hollywood 1:16:45 movie studio that would be Runway 1:16:48 TV it's got it got a similar level of 1:16:51 production value actually it's got 1:16:55 more but it's super janky what I find 1:16:58 interesting about this is I think things 1:17:02 like Runway TV are going to be very easy 1:17:05 to overlook and a lot of professional 1:17:08 filmmakers are going to make fun of it 1:17:11 and then two or three years from now 1:17:13 this is going to turn into a Netflix 1:17:15 competitor um or you know something like 1:17:18 it not not necessarily that one but 1:17:20 something like it um here's your audio 1:17:22 music and a audio 11 Labs is voice 1:17:25 synthesis refusion and sunno are music 1:17:28 generation and then sound draw is like 1:17:32 Loop composition really really quickly 1:17:35 with AI so take a screenshot of 1:17:37 that here's some 3D stuff that's worth 1:17:41 looking at I will eventually put 1:17:43 something in that fourth box it's just a 1:17:44 question mark because I haven't seen any 1:17:46 I'm I'm not deep in this world so these 1:17:48 are things that I think are cool and 1:17:50 worth knowing 1:17:51 about and then finally here are people 1:17:55 you should follow if you're curious 1:17:57 about this stuff you should follow these 1:17:58 people Ethan mik you should follow him 1:18:00 on Twitter LinkedIn and his blog I 1:18:05 really want I really want to find 1:18:07 something that will allow me to be the 1:18:10 voice of the Avatar that's okay so you 1:18:14 know what we can go we can go make some 1:18:16 of these right 1:18:18 now 1:18:21 um here let me show you 1:18:24 something let me show you 1:18:26 [Music] 1:18:29 something I'm going to go to a very 1:18:31 obscure Tik Tok 1:18:33 Channel called the AI learning lab 1:18:37 something went wrong rut 1:18:39 [Laughter] 1:18:44 R there we go oh look it's 1:18:48 me all right 1:18:51 so these two videos here that look like 1:18:54 me are not really me so this one is I 1:18:59 uploaded a 2-minute 1:19:02 video and just typed 1:19:05 in the words and it made this hey it's 1:19:09 Kyle Shannon with the AI learning lab 1:19:11 you know there are some days I just 1:19:12 don't want to turn on the camera days 1:19:14 where I don't even want to get out of 1:19:16 bed well good news so so that's me not 1:19:20 saying anything just typing and it made 1:19:22 that and then there's this one which is 1:19:25 I recorded an MP3 I recorded an audio 1:19:28 file and uploaded it to this Avatar this 1:19:31 is heyen and it made this hey it's Kyle 1:19:34 Shannon with the AI learning lab so the 1:19:37 previous video in my timeline is an 1:19:39 avatar generated with haen where I 1:19:42 didn't say the words I just typed in a 1:19:44 script and it synthesized my voice and 1:19:48 it was decent but it didn't really sound 1:19:50 like me this is me recording myself I'm 1:19:53 just just recording audio and I'm 1:19:55 uploading it to hey Jen as well and it's 1:19:57 matching this audio to the Avatar's look 1:20:00 and feel and so so that's that one and 1:20:04 then you can also um let me go to 1:20:10 did so if you go to D- ID so hey Jen 1:20:14 does this also the thing I'm about to 1:20:16 show you but I just have some stuff up 1:20:17 at D- 1:20:19 ID these things are not free um I get 1:20:23 asked that a lot are they free are they 1:20:25 expensive these things tend to be 1:20:26 decently expensive which 1:20:29 sucks I think they'll get cheaper as 1:20:31 these as these things go open 1:20:35 source um but right now they are not 1:20:39 they're private companies and and it's 1:20:41 listen they're they're blowing through a 1:20:43 lot of a lot of 1:20:45 uh a lot of uh GPU cycle so it's 1:20:50 expensive for them to run this all right 1:20:52 so let me see is this me talking in the 1:20:56 heart of the Ancient Forest where 1:20:57 Whispers of the past no that's 1:21:00 synthesized in a quiet little town where 1:21:02 the grass let me 1:21:05 see ah dear Adventurer it 1:21:09 seems and so it be so those are all 1:21:13 synthesized voice so I I synthesized 1:21:16 those over at um 11 1:21:20 Labs there's one in here where I 1:21:22 actually spoke it 1:21:24 in a world where brains were 1:21:27 no hey there it's Kyle Shannon with the 1:21:30 AI learning lab and today we're 1:21:35 going is it this one hey there it's Kyle 1:21:38 shanon I did I did a bunch of 1:21:40 synthesized ones anyway you can so the 1:21:42 way these work is if I want to create a 1:21:44 video um I say create 1:21:47 video and then I uploaded a bunch of 1:21:50 these images so these were images I made 1:21:52 in mid Journey this one I made in mid 1:21:54 journey and then I extended the 1:21:55 background in Photoshop with with you 1:21:58 know uh generative fill um and then you 1:22:01 can either type in a script here and you 1:22:05 can pick different 1:22:06 voices so like let's 1:22:10 see I should be able to preview 1:22:17 these oh I guess I got to type something 1:22:19 in um this is is a fine mess you've 1:22:26 gotten Us in 1:22:34 Ali this is a fine mess you've gotten Us 1:22:36 in 1:22:39 Oli this is a fine mess you've gotten Us 1:22:41 in Oli so you can just go you know this 1:22:45 is a fine mess you've gotten Us in 1:22:48 Oli a lot of them are bad or you can 1:22:51 upload audio and if you upload audio it 1:22:54 just will sync this face to your uh to 1:22:57 your thing so um H Jen does this as well 1:23:01 so so both hey 1:23:03 Jen on the lower right here here and D- 1:23:07 ID will do what you're looking for all 1:23:10 right all right is that fantastic is 1:23:14 that 1:23:15 fantastic all right do me a favor now 1:23:18 let me switch over let me switch over 1:23:21 here 1:23:24 um do me a favor and share the live if 1:23:27 you'd be willing share it with your 1:23:29 share it with some 1:23:31 friends that if they knew you were 1:23:33 watching an 1:23:35 AI a Channel about AI on a Saturday 1:23:39 night they would make fun of you share 1:23:41 it with those people okay and yeah tap 1:23:44 the screen let's get some tapy Taps 1:23:46 going I really want to find something 1:23:48 that will allow me to be the voice of 1:23:49 the Avatar that's what I just showed you 1:23:51 so that should be 1:23:53 that should be covered if there are 1:23:55 still questions there let me know 1:23:59 um follow my 1:24:02 channel um if you want to support the 1:24:04 channel you can subscribe to the lives 1:24:06 or you can um there's a Ser a video 1:24:09 series in the corner here oh did I add 1:24:11 it I think I added it there's a video in 1:24:13 the corner here called underhyped um 1:24:16 which if you buy that that supports the 1:24:18 channel too there's an older gentleman 1:24:20 in my town a barara with Parkinson 1:24:23 but that's beside the point one of two 1:24:26 all right what what is the point there 1:24:31 Joker Joker just wants back up on stage 1:24:34 share the YouTube about the German 1:24:36 promptography he had a lot of AI art on 1:24:40 his Facebook he removed it all because 1:24:43 it offended an artist friend sad yeah 1:24:47 it's the the the level of 1:24:51 misunderstanding and fear around to AI 1:24:53 right now is is pretty 1:24:55 shocking 1:24:58 but go look at every technological 1:25:01 advance in history every single one when 1:25:04 digital cameras came out the film people 1:25:06 yelled at the digital camera people 1:25:09 when computers came out the typewriter 1:25:11 people and and the the paste up the line 1:25:15 paste Up Guys in ad agencies that made 1:25:17 horizontal rules and vertical rules with 1:25:19 tape like literal tape on a pasteboard 1:25:24 uh they didn't like snot-nosed kids like 1:25:26 me that came along with Quark Express 1:25:28 and said look I can just draw a box 1:25:30 Isn't that cool and they were like oh 1:25:32 [ __ ] there's my 1:25:34 job so every time every time there's a 1:25:37 new technology there's going to be that 1:25:39 kind of resistance the thing that drives 1:25:42 me crazy about this AI art thing and and 1:25:46 and the resistance to it is okay sure 1:25:50 the machine does the generation of the 1:25:54 art but then it's the artist that says 1:25:57 here's what I want the image of and of 1:25:59 the 27 versions of that image that I 1:26:03 created this is the one that I'm 1:26:04 choosing to put in the world you know 1:26:06 what else is like 1:26:08 that 1:26:11 photography you point it and go you go 1:26:13 like this click and it makes an 1:26:18 image why is why is that copyrightable 1:26:21 why is that art 1:26:24 well because someone takes they do a lot 1:26:26 of clicks and they aim it at certain 1:26:31 subjects and then they take it into 1:26:33 Lightroom and they [ __ ] with it and then 1:26:37 of the 2,000 images they took this week 1:26:40 There's four that they put on Facebook 1:26:43 how is it any different than that it's 1:26:46 not but because it's a different 1:26:51 tool every everyone's up in arms about 1:26:53 it and they also don't understand it 1:26:55 they think it's copying and pasting from 1:26:57 other people's work and it's not it's 1:26:59 generating original pieces generating 1:27:03 the G in GPT stands for 1:27:06 generative generate not copy paste it is 1:27:11 not copy paste 1:27:13 PT 1:27:15 cppt it is not chat 1:27:19 cppt it is 1:27:21 not 1:27:24 it's 1:27:26 GPD and if you actually understood so so 1:27:30 even though these models have been 1:27:32 trained on lots of things that you know 1:27:35 may be copywritten things like that the 1:27:37 form that they take when they're when 1:27:40 they've been embedded into these large 1:27:42 language models and and the diffusion 1:27:44 models they're they're not the original 1:27:47 pieces that were started 1:27:50 with their points in in mathematical 1:27:55 space it's just a different thing but 1:27:57 anyway that's a subtlety and and you 1:27:59 know that fear is going to be there and 1:28:01 I think listen I think that artists and 1:28:06 creatives and writers and knowledge 1:28:08 workers absolutely have the right to be 1:28:11 terrified and pissed 1:28:14 off 1:28:15 but the thing that makes me sad is 1:28:18 they're doing it without learning the 1:28:20 tool without understanding the tool and 1:28:22 that's a drag and that's why this 1:28:24 channel exists quite 1:28:26 frankly there's a lot of people that are 1:28:29 in here that come back regularly that 1:28:30 are totally into this AI stuff now that 1:28:33 weren't when they came in 1:28:35 here why because once you try it it gets 1:28:38 a l a lot 1:28:40 less you realize that they're really 1:28:42 imperfect tools you realize that the 1:28:46 robots aren't 1:28:48 making the stuff people are making the 1:28:50 stuff using the tool 1:28:55 so yeah that's sad that sucks that sucks 1:28:59 well I'll tell you what 1:29:02 Joker tell your friend to join the AI 1:29:04 salon and he can go share he can come 1:29:06 share all of his really cool artwork 1:29:07 with the AI salon and we'll [ __ ] 1:29:09 celebrate 1:29:11 him we will we will lift him 1:29:16 up because that's why the salon 1:29:21 exists people who are choosing to be on 1:29:24 this AI Adventure not not pretending 1:29:26 like it's not happening I mean here's 1:29:28 here's the thing I 1:29:31 listen I've written seven screenplays 1:29:33 I've written a oneman 1:29:36 show I'm a photographer like I'm an 1:29:39 artist I I have a fine arts degree in 1:29:41 acting I absolutely get all the 1:29:48 issues and I get why people are pissed 1:29:51 off and 1:29:54 it doesn't matter what any of us 1:29:57 think morally and ethically about these 1:30:01 things it's coming anyway like it's it's 1:30:04 like it's 1:30:07 um it feels like the equivalent of being 1:30:10 pissed off at a hurricane like it's 1:30:13 hurricane season and like okay we're 1:30:16 going to pass a law that we no longer 1:30:18 accept hurricanes 1:30:21 okay 1:30:22 I I understand the 1:30:24 sentiment but you know you see that big 1:30:27 cloud out there it's still 1:30:31 coming so so My Philosophy is why not 1:30:36 learn it why not at least learn what it 1:30:38 is why not at least at least learn how 1:30:40 it works why not say hey maybe this is 1:30:44 actually a tool that I could incorporate 1:30:46 into my creative process and expand my 1:30:49 Creative Vision and expand my capacity 1:30:53 and maybe even find something completely 1:30:55 new that other people wouldn't discover 1:30:57 because they don't have my particular 1:30:59 artistic Vision the artists that I see 1:31:03 that are embracing AI That's exactly 1:31:05 what's happening to them they're 1:31:06 starting in kind of a narrow place with 1:31:08 wherever they were with their art they 1:31:10 come into this AI stuff and then the 1:31:12 world 1:31:14 goes and they go holy 1:31:17 [ __ ] this is cool I'll do I'll do one of 1:31:20 them I'll do one of them oh my God I 1:31:22 don't even know my Creative Vision 1:31:23 anymore am I still a writer am I still 1:31:25 an artist I don't maybe I don't know but 1:31:27 I can't stop like I see that 1:31:31 regularly so it just makes me sad that 1:31:34 there's going to a lot of people are 1:31:35 going to be hurt not 1:31:39 because they've done anything wrong just 1:31:42 because they're 1:31:43 missing the opportunity to learn these 1:31:47 tools at the foundation at the early 1:31:50 level so oh that was just that was Heavy 1:31:56 that was Heavy we went down a little 1:31:57 rabbit hole there didn't we good Lord 1:32:00 all right thanks Joker so much for 1:32:06 joking and then you bring up that he's 1:32:08 got Parkinson's which is irrelevant to 1:32:10 the 1:32:12 story he should still come along to the 1:32:15 AI 1:32:21 salon 1:32:23 W Tik Tok great job you've gone live for 1:32:26 90 1:32:28 minutes I have a vision wait I have a 1:32:31 vision memories experiences I want to 1:32:33 put into art and I have no paintbrush 1:32:36 ability 1:32:38 exactly and there are people that have 1:32:40 paintbrush ability that don't have word 1:32:42 ability and then there are people that 1:32:44 have word ability that don't have 1:32:46 programming ability and then like it 1:32:49 goes on and on and on like our 1:32:51 capabilities all expand dramatically 1:32:53 with these 1:32:54 tools if you're willing to put in the 1:32:56 time to learn what they make possible oh 1:32:58 that's what I I think I was if the 1:33:00 person's still here that said what's the 1:33:02 difference between 3.5 and four you have 1:33:05 good fortitude I'll get back to that 1:33:08 it's Evolution it is peace love 1:33:10 Liberty I can't draw but I like the 1:33:12 images I create say yeah exactly 1:33:17 same can I tell you how empowering it 1:33:21 is 1:33:39 fine 1:33:50 salmon yeah 1:33:55 so one night in 1:33:58 here someone asked 1:34:02 me they said 1:34:05 Kyle but Kyle Kyle let me ask you a 1:34:09 question may I ask you a question Kyle 1:34:11 and I said sure and they said hey Kyle 1:34:13 Kyle KY Kyle 1:34:15 listen they said you mentioned the other 1:34:18 night that cha PT would probably be good 1:34:21 at storyboard in how do you do 1:34:24 that and my response which is my T 1:34:27 typical response which was I don't know 1:34:30 let's go 1:34:31 try so I found in the depths of my 1:34:36 computer like buried in some folder from 1:34:40 1992 1:34:43 1991 a screenplay my first screenplay 1:34:46 called salmon flying East and I uploaded 1:34:48 it to chat 1:34:50 gp4 and so one of the things that chat 1:34:54 gp4 has that chat gpt3 doesn't is you 1:34:58 can upload files to it and they can be 1:35:00 anything they can be images they can be 1:35:05 CSV files they can be PDFs um it can't 1:35:08 really deal with it can it can analyze 1:35:10 the technical aspects of video and audio 1:35:12 it's not really processing them yet but 1:35:15 it 1:35:15 will um but but you can upload a PDF to 1:35:19 it and they can be quite long like I I 1:35:21 upload my whole screenplay as a as a 1:35:23 text file in this 1:35:25 case and then I said um give me the log 1:35:31 line give me give me the like how would 1:35:33 I elevator pitch this to someone and it 1:35:37 said salmon flying East is where the 1:35:39 deer hunter meets A River Runs Through 1:35:41 It which that's kind of a cool you know 1:35:44 uh 1:35:44 marriage a poignant journey of Vietnam 1:35:47 veteran fisherman wrestling with his 1:35:49 past entangled in a haunting romance 1:35:51 that that Bridges the turbulent Waters 1:35:54 of War and the Serene struggles of life 1:35:56 back home I'm like oh that's pretty good 1:35:59 and then I said um okay great now I'd 1:36:03 like you to create a list of visual 1:36:05 scenes from the opening of the movie 1:36:06 describe them as if they were a 1:36:08 storyboard in fact create a table where 1:36:11 one column describes the action and the 1:36:13 next describes what's going on visually 1:36:15 and so it did 1:36:16 that and then and this is another thing 1:36:19 where chat G pt4 is different than chat 1:36:21 PT 3.5 I said great now go make those 1:36:25 images and so we went through a little 1:36:27 bit of back and forth of look and feel 1:36:29 but like here's the first scene of the 1:36:31 film that it described of Gig Harbor 1:36:33 that's what Gig Harbor looks like if 1:36:35 you've ever been to Gig Harbor 1:36:36 Washington that's what it looks like 1:36:38 like it nailed it and in fact it nailed 1:36:41 it to the point where it's 1:36:43 like it it it instantly brought this 1:36:47 screenplay back to life for 1:36:49 me so here I've got a 30-year-old 1:36:53 unsold 1:36:56 screenplay sitting dormant on my hard 1:37:00 drive that I dumped into this tool it 1:37:03 brought it back to life to me in an 1:37:05 elevator picture I was like oh yeah 1:37:07 that's actually kind of a cool story 1:37:08 like you know I forgot what it was 1:37:11 about and then it made that image and 1:37:13 then we we did a little back and forth 1:37:15 on style and we landed on these two 1:37:18 Styles where if we were talking about 1:37:20 the present it was going to be this kind 1:37:22 of cool blue color if we were talking 1:37:24 about the past in Vietnam it was going 1:37:25 to be this sort of funky green color and 1:37:29 then I 1:37:30 said like create the storyboard that you 1:37:34 described at the 1:37:35 beginning and it went through and 1:37:38 created the 1:37:41 storyboard I mean come 1:37:44 on it totally brought this thing back to 1:37:47 life to me I mean do you know how lucky 1:37:50 it 1:37:52 do what I like I can't even put into 1:37:56 words let's say for whatever reason I 1:37:59 got inspired and I said [ __ ] it I'm 1:38:01 going to try to make salmon flying 1:38:06 East I pull out the screenplay I'd 1:38:08 probably print it on my printer maybe 1:38:11 I'd put it on my iPad I'd reread it 1:38:14 which would take me a week because I 1:38:17 have 1:38:19 ADD then I would try to find someone who 1:38:22 knew someone that could maybe help me 1:38:25 sketch some images of some of the 1:38:28 scenes and then it would probably be too 1:38:31 expensive so I'd probably have to pick 1:38:33 like three images and then I have to 1:38:35 have 1:38:36 them read the screenplay like a a month 1:38:39 later I might get three images out of it 1:38:43 and now I've got you know I've got 1:38:46 effectively a functional storyboard of 1:38:48 the first seven scenes of this film and 1:38:51 and they're not bad like they're in the 1:38:53 neighborhood of what I had in my head 1:38:54 when I wrote it because it's a 1:38:56 screenplay right you've got descriptions 1:38:58 of what the visuals 1:38:59 are so chat GPT can read the screenplay 1:39:03 in 1:39:05 Seconds come up 1:39:07 with how to prompt its own image 1:39:10 generation 1:39:12 engine and then do that and I and I kept 1:39:14 going and then I I ended up um asking it 1:39:18 to come up with a um 1:39:23 a casting breakdown I said I said Give 1:39:27 me the give me the characters in the 1:39:31 film and who would play them and so it 1:39:35 did Jack is gonna be Hugh Jackman Jeremy 1:39:38 rener or Josh Brolin Maggie's gonna be 1:39:42 or uh Ping's gonna 1:39:44 be um Zang Zeal Martha's going to be 1:39:48 Melissa McCarthy or o Octavia Spencer or 1:39:51 aliceon Janney all of which are like 1:39:53 these are good casting choices and then 1:39:56 it started making the images of the 1:40:02 cast we did this we did this 1:40:07 in 15 1:40:11 minutes here I asked it to give me what 1:40:14 are the most what are the most visually 1:40:16 dramatic scenes of the 1:40:20 film and make those images for 1:40:26 me and it did oh here I asked it to 1:40:30 write me a 1:40:31 trailer here's a script for the salmon 1:40:34 flying East 1:40:36 Trailer visual foggy Dawn Gig Harbor 1:40:39 gentle waves lapping against the dock I 1:40:41 could make this right now take it over 1:40:43 to Runway ML and turn that into a video 1:40:47 narrator in the quiet town of Gig Harbor 1:40:50 visual Jack rugged fisherman stands 1:40:52 alone on the dock staring at the Horizon 1:40:54 a Solitary Man battles with the tides of 1:40:57 his past that's pretty good visual 1:40:59 flashback to a crowded bar in Vietnam 1:41:02 Young Jack and ping lock eyes amidst the 1:41:04 chaos a love lost in the shadows of War 1:41:08 Jack on his boat wrestling with fishing 1:41:10 nets a pained expression on his 1:41:12 face and a heart still searching for 1:41:15 peace haunted by memories of a war that 1:41:19 took more than you could give but in the 1:41:21 unlikeliest of places a glimmer of hope 1:41:23 rekindles right like this is this is 1:41:26 good it's 1:41:29 good like if I if I wanted to I could 1:41:32 take three or four hours 1:41:34 tomorrow 1:41:37 and make a trailer for a 1:41:40 film that's been sitting in the bowels 1:41:42 of my hard drive for 30 1:41:47 years and within a year I could probably 1:41:49 make the film over a 1:41:58 weekend tell me that's not 1:42:01 cool that's not cool 1:42:04 okay every time this was I did a I did a 1:42:08 uh I did a LinkedIn post about about 1:42:11 that experience of of doing that on on 1:42:14 this live and I and I finished the uh I 1:42:18 finished the LinkedIn article with you 1:42:20 know 1:42:21 if someone still tells you that large 1:42:24 language models are stochastic parrots 1:42:27 and they're not valuable they're not 1:42:31 creative have it read one of your 1:42:33 screenplays and create storyboards for 1:42:36 it you tell me it's not [ __ ] creative 1:42:38 it's [ __ ] 1:42:40 Insanity it's [ __ ] Insanity thank you 1:42:42 digital Gods that's very generous I 1:42:45 appreciate that a 1:42:48 lot amazing isn't it just 1:42:55 crazy I want to get into Gemini uh you 1:42:58 can so Gemini just go to b.google.r 1:43:02 which is their middle tier they've got 1:43:04 three 1:43:06 models they have Ultra which won't be 1:43:09 out until the new year that's the fancy 1:43:11 one they have Pro which is sitting 1:43:14 behind barard right now and then they 1:43:16 have um Nano which if you have a pixel 1:43:20 Pro there's an application right now 1:43:22 that uses it but basically Nano is 1:43:24 designed to run locally on a phone which 1:43:27 is 1:43:29 amazing um so so if you want to get into 1:43:32 Gemini just go play with Bard that is 1:43:34 Gemini so so what I would say is a good 1:43:37 exercise would be go to chat GPT go to 1:43:39 chat. open.com go to b.google.r 1:43:47 in both of them just put two windows 1:43:49 side by side and just put the same 1:43:52 prompt in them 1:43:54 and mighty Show and Tell break okay so 1:43:57 what I'm going to show you now um Ted 1:44:00 looks at life said that show and tell is 1:44:02 looking good that I should go 1:44:06 look and so this is the show and tell 1:44:08 channel on the AI Salon website which 1:44:11 I'll give you the address in a actually 1:44:13 if you go to the salon. 1:44:15 a that's a link tree and the first link 1:44:18 there is to the is to the community 1:44:22 hang on my mighty networks is being very 1:44:25 slow loading 1:44:27 images come on come on you can do it you 1:44:31 can do 1:44:37 [Music] 1:44:42 it come on 1:44:45 man it's not loading for me oh you know 1:44:48 what I gota do I got probably gotta quit 1:44:50 the app 1:44:52 oh apple with 1:44:56 your there Apple's Network management is 1:44:59 not swell lately okay oh that's 1:45:02 beautiful holy 1:45:04 crap that's from 1:45:07 Vicki damn that is creepy 1:45:12 goodness the Christmas mosquito that's 1:45:18 amazing Ted looks at life this is what 1:45:21 head thinks of 1:45:23 me I'm like Bob's Big Boy or is that 1:45:27 Bob's Big Boy I think that looks like 1:45:28 Bob's Big 1:45:30 Boy let's see who's this this is also 1:45:32 Vicky Some solid Christmas ornaments 1:45:35 coming in 1:45:38 nice oh that's beautiful how cool is 1:45:42 that the blue 1:45:43 ducky so this was the uh the animal that 1:45:46 that they used in the uh in the Gemini 1:45:49 demo that that was faked was the Blue 1:45:53 Duck so we've we've adopted so um so we 1:45:57 talk about llama and so that's why 1:46:00 llama's in there and then when gp4 was 1:46:05 announced they did Larry the Hedgehog so 1:46:07 that's why we have hedgehogs then I like 1:46:09 the I like turtles kid the zombie I like 1:46:12 turtles that kid so that's why we have 1:46:14 Turtles and now we have now we have the 1:46:17 uh the Blue Duck which I like this is 1:46:20 good 1:46:22 the sock puppet monkey 1:46:29 nice come 1:46:40 on Mighty Network says not 1:46:44 loading it's driving me crazy it's 1:46:48 driving Kyle's got the big oh Bob's Big 1:46:50 Boy boy hair tonight oh I do don't I 1:46:52 look at that I haven't even noticed my 1:46:54 hair tonight it's normally the first 1:46:55 thing I notice is my 1:47:00 tpay that is very Bob's Big Boy that's 1:47:03 very 1:47:05 funny all right it's not loading for 1:47:07 whatever reason now oh you know where I 1:47:09 can probably go I can probably go over 1:47:12 here wait Gemini was faked well sort of 1:47:16 so no it really 1:47:19 wasn't 1:47:22 the 4 and a half minute video where they 1:47:24 started with the Post-it note and they 1:47:26 drew the duck and then it was a Blue 1:47:27 Duck and then they did all the [ __ ] with 1:47:29 it and they did the magic tricks and 1:47:30 they did the yarn and then they did the 1:47:33 guitars and playing 1:47:37 music Gemini doesn't have like the the 1:47:40 voice conversation thing apparently and 1:47:43 they sped up most of the sequences so 1:47:46 they basically made it look a [ __ ] ton 1:47:48 slicker than it was and and there's 1:47:52 other videos that they did of if you go 1:47:54 to the if you go to the Google's YouTube 1:47:57 channel and go to the 1:47:59 Hands-On with Gemini Ultra playlist 1:48:04 there's a bunch of videos in there where 1:48:06 you can see them actually interacting 1:48:08 with a 1:48:09 scrollable um like Infinite Canvas kind 1:48:13 of interface that looks real to me now 1:48:16 they might have sped sped up some of the 1:48:17 responses that I don't know but it but 1:48:20 that looks pretty real but the the video 1:48:22 itself the super slick 4 and a half 1:48:23 minute video that that was faked and 1:48:25 they they just didn't they weren't 1:48:26 transparent about it they they no one 1:48:29 would have given a [ __ ] if there were 1:48:31 like little text on there that said 1:48:32 sequences sped up for your convenience 1:48:35 or or voes you know are not indicative 1:48:39 of performance but they didn't do that 1:48:41 they they tried to make it a little 1:48:42 slicker than it was and they got 1:48:45 busted could you imagine that the 1:48:47 internet would try to get to the bottom 1:48:49 of something like that 1:48:55 uh have you been on the internet you're 1:48:58 [Laughter] 1:49:00 Google I don't know what to 1:49:04 say man that's cool the Illinois state 1:49:07 bird that's cute oh I was going to go 1:49:09 over here hang on let me go to the AI 1:49:12 Salon here it's my my iPad I you know 1:49:14 what maybe I need to restart my iPad but 1:49:17 my iPad not 1:49:19 so not so happy so let's go to the show 1:49:23 and 1:49:25 tell 1:49:26 here all 1:49:29 right there's Vicky can you recall which 1:49:32 software makes the nft in 1:49:34 bulk I don't have a 1:49:38 clue you can use chat GPT to write a 1:49:41 solidity contract but then how you 1:49:43 actually deploy that there's it's just 1:49:46 that's such a whole [ __ ] other world 1:49:48 that one's really cool who did that 1:49:49 that's Sherry Bank very cute very cute 1:49:53 ducky all right there's the monkey oh 1:49:54 that's cute Sherry Banks total I like 1:49:58 total oh that's beautiful digital Gods 1:50:02 nice except his head pops 1:50:05 off that's pretty beautiful dag so 1:50:09 that's Deco here so Deco here is using 1:50:12 uh stability AI stable video stable 1:50:16 video diffusion I think it's 1:50:18 called um to make those anim ations jrc 1:50:22 with the 1:50:24 Hedgehog this is not only the ornament 1:50:26 but it's the Design Concepts for the 1:50:29 ornament very 1:50:33 nice oh that one's 1:50:35 great the 1:50:37 Llama these are 1:50:40 cool what did you do tonight the 1:50:44 ornament that's great oh that's totally 1:50:46 like one of those Hallmark things isn't 1:50:48 it what did you do tonight ornament of 1:50:55 2023 a the Llama AI learning lab 20123 1:50:59 that one's cool here let me dim that a 1:51:02 little bit so you can see 1:51:04 it perfectly imperfect beautiful oh 1:51:07 that's our merch store nice like 1:51:10 it Luna stick 1:51:13 beautiful wow these are 1:51:15 cool dag oh that one's beautiful nice 1:51:18 lunar stick 1:51:21 digital Gods very 1:51:24 cool I you you know what these what 1:51:27 these remind me is that I think that 1:51:31 refresh Show and Tell okay I 1:51:34 will 1:51:36 um I think there are going to be so many 1:51:39 products and projects that start out oh 1:51:42 that's so good the big boy that is so 1:51:47 good that's 1:51:49 great 1:51:52 I I think there going to be a lot of um 1:51:55 industrial design and and you know 1:51:58 things like these ornaments that start 1:52:00 out 1:52:03 as you know like imagine creating 1:52:05 something like that here is kind of a 1:52:07 lark and then going you know what that's 1:52:08 kind of beautiful and you always wanted 1:52:10 to get into jewelry making and then you 1:52:11 just decide you're G to you're going to 1:52:13 make this thing that like that's going 1:52:16 to start happening more and more and 1:52:17 more we're going to start seeing things 1:52:18 in the world click the puzzle 1:52:25 piece this is earlier if you weren't 1:52:27 here earlier that was definitely me 1:52:30 trying trying to land the plane after 1:52:32 the pilot died and everyone was like 1:52:34 click the thing that wasn't 1:52:36 there it was 1:52:38 funny well I hope it was funny to you 1:52:40 was terrifying to 1:52:42 me that one's beautiful 1:52:46 damn like that would be cool to own 1:52:49 wouldn't it 1:52:52 the baked bean 1:52:54 [Laughter] 1:53:00 ornament oh man you guys are killing it 1:53:03 that's awesome what's going on in the 1:53:06 Irregulars channel so if you're an 1:53:08 irregular if you're a subscriber to this 1:53:10 Channel or if you come here regularly 1:53:13 there's a private channel for regulars 1:53:15 and sometimes these 1:53:18 are oh that one's beautiful from Silver 1:53:20 Fox wow 1:53:23 nice oo so 1:53:27 good 1:53:35 wow this is from 1:53:38 lunatick the music Here's really 1:53:41 [Music] 1:53:49 good that's 1:53:51 great beauty beauty beauty beauty beauty 1:53:54 beauty beauty beauty beauty beauty 1:53:56 beauty beauty beauty beauty all right 1:54:00 out of all the employees at Google that 1:54:02 make over 300K no one suggested 1:54:05 transparency 1:54:07 exactly no one said don't you think the 1:54:10 internet sleuths might figure this out 1:54:13 no why would they 1:54:19 care 1:54:22 it just it's I don't know it's weird 1:54:25 it's weird it's weird it's weird weird 1:54:28 weird but 1:54:30 whatever 1:54:33 um there's a lovely champy sings t-shirt 1:54:37 from I think Ted did this 1:54:41 one champy you in here you want sing 1:54:45 want hear champy 1:54:49 Sing 1:54:51 [Music] 1:54:59 [Music] 1:55:19 oh 1:55:22 [Music] 1:55:25 I know I know it's crazy 1:55:36 right that's champy champy sings I can't 1:55:40 play guitar anymore but champy can he he 1:55:43 sings like there's sometimes I just want 1:55:46 to like let me just like bang out a song 1:55:50 I'll try to do it quiet chinging I'll 1:55:56 hear like 1:56:01 no it is cute It's mighty 1:56:08 cute all 1:56:10 right okay okay okay okay 1:56:16 okay yeah yeah Peter yeah listen we're 1:56:21 going to need you to go on ahead and 1:56:22 come on in on Saturday 1:56:26 yeah oh and uh one more thing Peter uh 1:56:30 yeah uh we're going to need you to go on 1:56:32 ahead and come on in on Sunday too 1:56:37 yeah all 1:56:40 right I hope this doesn't turn to 1:56:43 advertising I don't know what you 1:56:47 mean um that's how I feel wait that's 1:56:50 how I feel you guys have turned me into 1:56:52 a creative machine oh that's cool that's 1:56:54 what I'm doing with my 3D prints yeah 1:56:56 Vicki's got 3D printers going oh oh are 1:56:59 you are you like resin printing some of 1:57:01 the stuff you're coming up with and I 1:57:02 guess fdm printing too right oh that's 1:57:04 super cool yeah like generate stuff and 1:57:08 then turn that into models and why not 1:57:11 exactly it's going to ignite people's 1:57:13 imaginations Auto that statement is so 1:57:17 TR so I I hear I hear it as much lately 1:57:21 because I think we have a bit of an echo 1:57:22 chamber here because a lot of a lot of 1:57:25 people come back to this 1:57:27 but people that are new to AI when they 1:57:30 hear about this magical tool that can be 1:57:34 creative it can make images and it can 1:57:37 you 1:57:38 know write marketing lines for your 1:57:41 screenplay and it can write poems and it 1:57:44 can do this one of the questions I get 1:57:47 pretty regularly is well if the machines 1:57:50 are 1:57:51 creative won't that make you less 1:57:55 creative and the 1:57:57 answer over my experience over the past 1:58:00 two years has been the complete 1:58:03 opposite my brain like I am more 1:58:07 creatively alive right now than I was in 1:58:09 my 1:58:10 20s it's insane it's 1:58:14 insane I have an idea lunatick she just 1:58:18 hit she's made 50 GPT 1:58:21 she she said a lot of them are ideas 1:58:23 that she's had for years she'll like 1:58:24 write them down she did comedy right so 1:58:27 she's got everything on index cards 1:58:29 she's probably got a box of jokes and 1:58:31 then she had a box of like software 1:58:32 ideas I guess and gpts came out and she 1:58:36 took out her software ideas and 1:58:39 just she's got 50 of them it's insane 1:58:43 it's cool it's 1:58:46 awesome so yeah it's like it this 1:58:51 expands your Humanity it amplifies your 1:58:54 Humanity it doesn't diminish 1:58:57 it I think it's going to be one of the 1:58:59 great ironies of this whole 1:59:03 era is that the fear is that the robots 1:59:07 will take over and humans will diminish 1:59:10 in 1:59:11 power and I think there's a very real 1:59:14 possibility that the opposite happens 1:59:16 that these tools not these robots 1:59:20 these tools that are a reflection of 1:59:23 humanity right they were trained on what 1:59:26 people have dumped onto the internet for 1:59:28 the past four or five 1:59:30 decades that these tools will actually 1:59:34 amplify our 1:59:37 humanity and we will become better 1:59:39 humans and better people like I know 1:59:41 that's [ __ ] utopistic 1:59:46 utopistic naive a word might be naive na 1:59:50 that's so naive Kyle oh that's cute I 1:59:52 was on a 1:59:53 panel seven or eight months ago and I 1:59:56 was waxing poetic like I am now and one 2:00:00 of the panelists says well let me 2:00:02 interrupt the adorable optimism 2:00:04 here which was it was a solid troll I 2:00:08 got to say it made me feel small for 2:00:10 about a 2:00:11 minute and then I and then I thought you 2:00:14 know what yeah [ __ ] it I'll take 2:00:16 adorable Optimist like I'll take 2:00:18 adorably optimistic I don't mean like 2:00:20 I'm adorable like like oh isn't that 2:00:22 adorable that you're that optimistic 2:00:24 I'll take 2:00:26 that I'll take 2:00:29 that I think I think that's actually the 2:00:32 harder position right now because it's 2:00:34 really easy to go oh these things are 2:00:36 going to [ __ ] us up and they're going to 2:00:38 take away our 2:00:41 creativity but if you actually use these 2:00:44 tools you experience it I experience 2:00:50 I am 2:00:52 experiencing a year where I have been 2:00:55 more creatively 2:00:59 productive a higher volume of 2:01:01 productivity and a higher quality of 2:01:03 productivity than I've ever been in my 2:01:05 life I've got add so my Brilliance comes 2:01:08 in very short bursts very short intense 2:01:12 bursts but what's happened with this AI 2:01:15 stuff is those very short intense bursts 2:01:18 have stayed as intense 2:01:20 or gotten more intense and they go for 2:01:22 longer amounts of 2:01:24 time why because I don't get stopped 2:01:28 getting stuck with I don't know how to 2:01:30 do something or I'm not good enough or I 2:01:33 don't like doing a second draft of a 2:01:34 writing thing or I'm shitty at 2:01:39 Art I can just go oh I'm shitty at Art 2:01:41 hey could you help me with the art thing 2:01:43 here's the art oh cool all right great 2:01:46 let me keep going with this 2:01:48 idea 2:01:50 it's 2:01:52 insane like my Humanity has 2:01:56 been 2:02:04 Amplified why do I do these things seven 2:02:06 nights a week because you're stupid 2:02:15 yeah seems a bit pathological to me I 2:02:18 agree 2:02:26 the selfish re the selfish one of The 2:02:28 Selfish reason reasons for doing 2:02:31 this 2:02:34 is It's a way for me to not let myself 2:02:38 off the 2:02:40 hook because this shit's intense and 2:02:43 it's moving really 2:02:45 fast and it's uncomfortable enough to be 2:02:49 not an expert at something for a short 2:02:51 amount of time and then and then you 2:02:53 practice it and you get good at it what 2:02:55 this AI stuff is like is like you feel 2:02:59 clueless and then you're like okay I'm 2:03:02 gonna buckle down and I'm going to get 2:03:03 good at it you're like okay great and 2:03:05 then you take a course or you watch 2:03:07 Rachel Woods or you watch me and you're 2:03:09 like okay I'm I'm gonna go do prompt 2:03:12 engineering now and then you go do 2:03:13 prompt engineering and then you're like 2:03:15 okay I got it figured out then you look 2:03:17 up and they launch some new thing and 2:03:19 you're like oh [ __ ] that thing doesn't 2:03:22 work anymore oh [ __ ] what do I do now 2:03:25 it's it's it's been like a year of 2:03:28 like just being in that uncomfortable 2:03:31 place of being completely [ __ ] 2:03:34 clueless 2:03:37 and doing it with tools that are more 2:03:39 powerful than anything you've ever 2:03:41 experienced all at the same 2:03:44 time is completely overwhelming and so I 2:03:46 come here to just say because it it it's 2:03:49 it's really easy to go [ __ ] it I'll just 2:03:52 you know I'm tapping out I'm going to 2:03:54 I'm going to sit back for 6 months but 2:03:56 here's what I 2:03:57 know there is never there there will 2:04:01 never 2:04:04 ever 2:04:08 ever be an opportunity to be at the 2:04:13 beginning of something that is as 2:04:16 significant as the printing press 2:04:20 imagine what it must have been like back 2:04:24 then imagine what it must have been like 2:04:27 to be tinkering with steam engines 2:04:29 before the Industrial 2:04:31 Revolution holy [ __ ] these things are so 2:04:33 powerful like they're they're like as 2:04:35 powerful as 20 2:04:37 horses what can we do with that oh I 2:04:39 don't he could wait could you could you 2:04:43 power a factory like a machine in a 2:04:48 factory yeah yeah I don't think we knew 2:04:50 What factories were could we invent a 2:04:54 factory what if we put 20 of these steam 2:04:57 machines in one 2:05:04 building it is incredibly 2:05:07 rare to be 2:05:10 alive and participating in any way in 2:05:14 one of these moments and so I do this 2:05:18 you know personally so I don't let 2:05:19 myself off the 2:05:21 hook and hopefully Inspire some people 2:05:24 along the way to do the same and it's it 2:05:26 what it's created is this really 2:05:28 remarkable Community that's just [ __ ] 2:05:30 like lit on fire about whatever this 2:05:33 thing is and they're teaching one 2:05:35 another and they're learning and they're 2:05:37 like hey Kyle did you see this thing no 2:05:39 I didn't like you see it here most 2:05:42 nights it's like click on the puzzle 2:05:44 piece I don't know where the puzzle 2:05:46 piece is it's like 2:05:50 we're all trying to figure this 2:05:53 out more show and 2:06:01 tell my iPad needs help oh that one's 2:06:06 beautiful from Jeff fanan 2:06:11 Flanigan go 2:06:16 just oh wow 2:06:19 that one I bet would animate nice over 2:06:21 in 2:06:23 uh in 2:06:29 Runway be not 2:06:40 afraid that's [ __ ] 2:06:44 awesome wow these are cool oh who did 2:06:47 this I'm being not afraid 2:06:51 [Laughter] 2:06:55 oh my God but I'm telling you man I 2:06:59 would [ __ ] buy that come 2:07:02 on that's awesome champy champy got his 2:07:07 own 2:07:08 [Music] 2:07:09 ornament that is so cool thank you Vicky 2:07:12 that's 2:07:14 beautiful oh that's 2:07:18 cool 2:07:20 like product designers must be losing 2:07:21 their 2:07:23 [ __ ] wow that's so 2:07:27 good that's 2:07:36 beautiful I'm G actually I'm G actually 2:07:39 print some of these out we'll put them 2:07:41 around maybe maybe this will be the 2:07:43 Shannon household will be full full of 2:07:47 irregular ornaments 2:07:50 that's really 2:07:52 good oh 2:07:57 man what's that say I would buy the 2:08:00 green bear and the champy ornament I 2:08:02 know right exactly has anyone heard of a 2:08:04 company called Remo tasks they pay for 2:08:07 people to analyze AI prompts and 2:08:10 responses no I haven't heard of that 2:08:12 champy looking too cute I know right 2:08:15 Champ's cute but he's not ornament cute 2:08:18 actually he is he is pretty ornament 2:08:20 cute merry finger looking 2:08:23 Christmas personally I'm into 2:08:26 gluten-free bird press AKA Chad 2:08:30 GPT do you think GPT 4 can build a 2:08:34 better human no but GPT 5 probably 2:08:37 can This Magic 2:08:41 Moment this web 3.0 being a part of the 2:08:44 launch of 2.0 was amazing this will be 2:08:46 epic yeah exactly Jules this is 2:08:50 this is one of those moments where it's 2:08:52 like you 2:08:53 know in my day there was a 2:08:57 time when you couldn't just ask for what 2:08:59 you wanted and it would be instantly 2:09:01 generated for you like we're going to be 2:09:04 able to tell those 2:09:06 stories there were these people called 2:09:09 filmmakers and they had big boxes with 2:09:11 lenses on the 2:09:17 front and there will still be filmmakers 2:09:20 but they're just going to use different 2:09:22 tools storytelling is 2:09:25 storytelling it doesn't matter what the 2:09:27 tool is it's one of the things I've 2:09:29 learned I went to school for acting I've 2:09:32 written screenplays I started an agency 2:09:34 I built websites for the Fortune 2:09:36 500 I started my current company Story 2:09:39 vine which is a video storytelling it's 2:09:40 all storytelling like my the through 2:09:42 line through my life has been 2:09:43 storytelling I'm a Storyteller I 2:09:47 suppose 2:09:53 storytelling 2:09:55 is like like it's independent of the 2:10:01 tool it's What story do I want to tell 2:10:05 and who do I want to tell it to and how 2:10:07 do I want to affect 2:10:09 them and if you do it with AI or you do 2:10:13 it with a movie camera or you do it with 2:10:15 a pencil or you do it with a typewriter 2:10:18 it doesn't [ __ ] 2:10:20 matter you do it with a quill pen and 2:10:23 parchment 2:10:26 paper do you think AI dystopian movies 2:10:29 will get better or worse in 2:10:36 plot I think we're in a 2:10:40 weird I think we're in a weird time 2:10:43 right now 2:10:47 where a a lot of the [ __ ] that was 2:10:49 science fiction is coming 2:10:53 true not the dystopian 2:10:56 Parts 2:10:59 but and and it's been happening like the 2:11:01 past 10 or 15 years like the 2:11:04 iPhone is like the thing that was on 2:11:06 Star Trek when we were kids and we 2:11:08 watched on Star Trek and they flipped 2:11:10 open the thing and talked into it from 2:11:12 the spaceship down to 2:11:14 the down to the planet you're like oh 2:11:18 yeah yeah oh we have that 2:11:22 now and now we have the G I'd like a 2:11:26 picture of a Christmas ornament made of 2:11:29 baked 2:11:36 beans and minutes later seconds 2:11:40 later I'd like it if there were a blue 2:11:43 rubber ducky swimming in the baked beans 2:11:45 on my Christmas ornament 2:11:47 please there it 2:11:54 is Google deep 2:11:59 mind just released to humanity 2.2 2:12:05 million new materials 380,000 of which 2:12:09 are stable 2:12:12 crystals humans and computers up to this 2:12:16 point had discovered 48,000 2:12:19 and 2:12:20 AI just discovered 380,000 2:12:27 more in their press release they said it 2:12:29 was 800 years worth of technological 2:12:33 advancement in a single 2:12:40 announcement and I think already 800 of 2:12:43 the materials have been verified in labs 2:12:46 380,000 2:12:49 new materials so think batteries and 2:12:54 solar panels and who the [ __ ] 2:12:58 knows everything is Material Science 2:13:00 everything that we interact with is some 2:13:01 version of Material Science Plastics 2:13:05 and Crystal crystallin arrays and Bucky 2:13:16 Balls like we're just getting started 2:13:20 like we're just getting started I mean 2:13:23 ai's been around for a while but this 2:13:25 generative stuff this Transformer based 2:13:27 stuff where you just basically train it 2:13:29 on massive amounts of data any kind of 2:13:34 data all right we're going to train it 2:13:36 on materials now here's here's Crystal 2:13:39 and structures of the 48,000 things we 2:13:41 know go find 2:13:44 more 2:13:47 okay here's 2.2 million uh which ones of 2:13:52 these are stable oh oh you want stable 2:13:54 ones here's 380,000 2:14:01 now was it that simple I don't know but 2:14:06 it 2:14:08 happened this is from the same group 2:14:10 that came up with 2:14:11 400,000 protein folding 2:14:16 predictions that seem to be bearing out 2:14:18 in 2:14:20 reality they did all the proteins now 2:14:22 they've done all the materials what's 2:14:24 next I don't know but I bet it's going 2:14:26 to be revolutionary 2:14:28 too so that's the world we live in now 2:14:32 so what do you do with science fiction I 2:14:33 mean we haven't cracked time travel and 2:14:35 we haven't cracked speed of light travel 2:14:38 and those are kind of 2:14:40 related and we haven't really cracked um 2:14:46 teleportation but we have cracked superp 2:14:50 position at distance right we have 2:14:53 cracked I changed this thing here and 2:14:57 the The Identical thing out in space 2:15:00 also changes instantaneously 2:15:05 like so in some sense we've cracked you 2:15:10 know teleportation and travel over 2:15:13 distance but just at the at the 2:15:14 subatomic 2:15:17 level so so I don't know 2:15:23 man I think science fiction gets like I 2:15:26 suppose it'll be I suppose science 2:15:28 fiction it will be easier to to make 2:15:31 things that seem 2:15:34 plausible that are that that 2:15:37 historically would have been 50 or 100 2:15:39 years away now might be five years away 2:15:42 but it's kind of plausible that we'll 2:15:43 get there I don't 2:15:46 know I wrote a screenplay in 92 2:15:52 about a five piece molecule that gets 2:15:56 injected into cops and then the molecule 2:15:59 it's like a it's like a nanorobot it 2:16:01 migrates to the base of the brain and 2:16:03 assembles into a 2:16:05 transceiver and 2:16:08 transmits the brain activity of the 2:16:10 person and receives the brain activity 2:16:12 from another person so they can remote 2:16:15 control people's 2:16:17 bodies uh 2:16:21 that technology is starting to happen 2:16:23 right now they're reading fmri scans of 2:16:27 people's brains when they think about 2:16:30 moving their legs and then they send 2:16:32 that signal via Bluetooth to electrodes 2:16:35 connected to their legs below a spinal 2:16:37 injury and they're moving they're 2:16:39 walking people are 2:16:45 walking they're recreating if I watch a 2:16:48 video they can take an fmri scan of my 2:16:50 brain and recreate the video that I'm 2:16:52 watching without seeing the video 2:16:55 they're doing that right 2:17:00 now so like the thing that was wild 2:17:03 sci-fi when I wrote it like wild sci-fi 2:17:05 like this is just stupid it's not really 2:17:07 plausible in 2:17:11 1992 the technology is essentially there 2:17:14 it's janky like all the all the [ __ ] 2:17:16 we're playing with right now is very 2:17:17 Jank 2:17:19 yanky but 3 years 5 years I bet the 2:17:23 Fidelity of being able to see people's 2:17:27 brains and what they're seeing and doing 2:17:30 and thinking is going to be there like 2:17:33 watching a 2:17:39 movie it's 2:17:42 crazy to the 2:17:47 shop we're all better humans just for 2:17:49 being here well you're you're actually 2:17:52 incredible humans just for putting up 2:17:53 with 2:17:55 me but I agree no this community is is 2:17:59 actually doing really cool things 2:18:00 together it's really it's really 2:18:02 inspiring what's the website where you 2:18:04 tell the AI what picture you want to see 2:18:07 and it creates it uh chat 2:18:09 GPT let's 2:18:12 go I mean there's there's lots of them 2:18:14 but but chat GPT and if you don't have 2:18:16 chat gp4 you can also do it at um 2:18:20 copilot microsoft.com so I'll go to 2:18:25 co-pilot 2:18:27 coopy lot. 2:18:32 microsoft.com so this is Microsoft's 2:18:34 version of chat gp4 and I can just 2:18:40 say 2:18:43 um please make me a 2:18:50 Christmas 2:18:53 orament of 2:18:55 a 2:19:01 shuttered 2:19:04 [Laughter] 2:19:06 Blockbuster video 2:19:11 store so this is one you can do it at 2:19:15 co- pilot. microsoft.com 2:19:20 your image is 2:19:26 generating and it should give us four 2:19:29 four of 2:19:42 them they're not really shuttered does 2:19:45 it say closed no 2:19:49 what's that say free delivery something 2:19:51 like 2:19:52 that so that's that one and then the 2:19:54 other one is chat GPT so you just go to 2:19:56 chat 2:20:02 GPT and put it in chat gp4 mode and just 2:20:06 go 2:20:10 Um please make me 2:20:14 a vertical image of a Christmas orn 2:20:18 hanging on a 2:20:20 tree with blurred bokeh 2:20:24 background Christmas lights period the 2:20:27 ornament should be of a closed down 2:20:31 Blockbuster video 2:20:35 store and this will do the same thing 2:20:37 this will only give us one image because 2:20:40 Chad G oh here's here's the thing if you 2:20:42 didn't know if you've got chat 2:20:44 gp4 if you just use regular chat gp4 to 2:20:48 make an image it'll give you one 2:20:50 image if you use the dolly GPT that they 2:20:54 made that open AI made it'll make you 2:20:56 two 2:20:57 images so there's a little hack if you 2:20:59 want to get more than one image at a 2:21:01 time out of chat 2:21:02 JP so let's scroll 2:21:06 down let's see let's go to 2:21:15 [Music] 2:21:16 explore 2:21:21 what's happening what's happening Chad 2:21:24 GPT did you break all 2:21:26 right see Dolly 3 right here go to 2:21:31 that make me a Christmas ornament of a 2:21:35 shutdown Blockbuster video 2:21:46 store 2:21:48 [Music] 2:21:55 last night I had someone come in and say 2:21:56 do you sing like that so you do you want 2:21:58 people to 2:22:00 leave and the answer is 2:22:04 yes this one's actually really 2:22:06 good see it makes 2:22:09 two Isn't that cool a't that 2:22:12 cool Blockbuster it actually spelled it 2:22:15 right that one's cute like I would buy 2:22:17 that like that's 2:22:19 cool these things are so cool and you 2:22:21 probably could so there's so one of the 2:22:24 things that's happening right now 2:22:25 there's a lot of research right now show 2:22:27 them a deco here oh yeah yeah that's a 2:22:30 good idea okay so let me let me uh 2:22:35 control save 2:22:37 this 2:22:39 wait oh download okay let me download 2:22:43 that one so now we're going to go to 2:22:45 app. deoh here. 2:22:48 app. dcoh 2:22:51 here. 2:23:08 a what's going 2:23:11 on why can I why can I not go 2:23:16 here 2:23:22 um stable video image to video upload 2:23:26 image oh I probably should have made 2:23:28 that a 16 by9 horizontal shouldn't I 2:23:32 have shouldn't have 2:23:35 I I should 2:23:39 have all right there's our block 2:23:41 Blockbuster image we're going to do more 2:23:44 motion well we'll do middle we go 2:23:46 generate video 2:23:49 and so this is using stable stability 2:23:52 wait stable video diffusion is the 2:23:55 technology 2:23:56 here and then it's it's making it here's 2:24:00 here's something we made last night 2:24:01 here's a cute little hedgehog at a water 2:24:04 [Laughter] 2:24:12 park this one was 2:24:16 disturbing 2:24:18 [Laughter] 2:24:23 it's good was this ducky one pretty good 2:24:25 I think this one might have been good oh 2:24:27 yeah it's good except all the images I 2:24:29 created last night have trains trains 2:24:32 invading them for some reason it's like 2:24:34 a blue Ducky on a pond and there's an 2:24:36 orange train shows 2:24:39 up what the 2:24:42 hell this is good but then look there's 2:24:44 a train beside 2:24:46 it 2:24:49 a 69 GTO Judge covered in Moss in the 2:24:52 woods next to a 2:24:56 train oh it's so funny all right let's 2:25:05 see was this one any good n it was 2:25:10 weird yeah it's like another 2:25:13 train another train invading the scene I 2:25:16 don't know what was 2:25:17 there was something weird last night 2:25:19 with 2:25:32 it hello Mr Johnson here's your new logo 2:25:35 oh this is the 2:25:38 animation it symbolizes the the 2:25:41 ephemeral nature of 2:25:46 business 2:25:53 this is what we think AI is going to do 2:25:55 to your 2:25:55 [Laughter] 2:26:01 business I'm just waiting for life like 2:26:03 the Jetson we're we're actually getting 2:26:06 close I mean we've got flying cars like 2:26:09 the you know 2:26:10 the the uh oh we got it here's our 2:26:14 little Christmas ornament oh that's cool 2:26:18 that's actually really 2:26:20 cool I I tend to have really bad luck 2:26:23 with the video things that one's 2:26:24 actually really 2:26:28 good that's so 2:26:32 cool put some Christmas music under that 2:26:34 we could sell a boatload of these things 2:26:37 Vicky let's print some of these bad 2:26:43 boys do you think open AI will get 2:26:46 involved with holographic 2:26:48 Tech 2:26:55 um I doubt it I doubt that they'll get 2:26:58 directly involved with it I think that 2:27:00 their apis will be used to to do a lot 2:27:04 of stuff with with that you know with 2:27:09 the with holographic Tech with metaverse 2:27:12 kind of 2:27:14 stuff uh uh k if it's slow I'm on the 2:27:19 internet I'll hang up 2:27:24 huh 2:27:25 oh the the the mighty networks no I 2:27:28 think it's just my iPad I think my 2:27:29 iPad's just sucking wind 2:27:31 tonight I think it needs a restart it 2:27:35 needs a restart let's go to show and 2:27:37 tail here people let's see what's going 2:27:39 on over it show and tail we got anything 2:27:42 good here Vicky oh that one's beautiful 2:27:44 nice solid 2:27:51 see I remember you know that's very much 2:27:55 got like artwork Vibes of like 70s album 2:27:59 covers I remember being a kid and seeing 2:28:02 artwork like that and just knowing that 2:28:05 I would never be able to make anything 2:28:07 like that and we're now in a place where 2:28:09 you 2:28:11 can I find that staggeringly 2:28:15 cool C atic 1960s art housee science 2:28:19 fiction film that's super 2:28:21 cool that's so 2:28:24 cool 2:28:29 well give me the 2:28:31 [Laughter] 2:28:33 data so 2:28:36 cool I embarked on a unique challenge to 2:28:39 push the limits of my own custom GPT 2:28:41 model set up your first terrarium 2:28:44 designed to provide a personalized 2:28:47 advice on creating terrariums very 2:28:52 cool Christmas runs on see see how my 2:28:57 shit's not loading it drives me 2:29:01 crazy 2:29:04 beautiful Normal Illinois that's so 2:29:09 cool oh beautiful nice 2:29:16 Lindsay 2:29:21 Christmas runs on 2:29:25 Duncan Kurt Cobain is alive and 2:29:29 well so 2:29:31 cool wow that's beautiful nice 2:29:35 Jeff ahow that's 2:29:38 beautiful the sushi 2:29:41 basket Blues 2:29:43 Brothers oh these are so cool that's a 2:29:47 awesome all right let's see one more 2:29:49 then I'm going to get on out of here let 2:29:50 you people have your have your rest of 2:29:52 your Saturday nights or your Sunday 2:29:55 mornings got this idea from the magazine 2:29:58 with two guys in the background while 2:30:00 Kyle was talking oh that's so cool 2:30:02 here's the prompt yeah that is uh let's 2:30:05 see this was Men in Black we we were 2:30:08 doing a parody on Men In Black but this 2:30:11 is that's me and my partner Chan from 2:30:14 agency.com on the Silicon alley report 2:30:17 quter from 2:30:19 1998 97 November 2:30:24 97 that's 2:30:32 cool all right people I'm going to get 2:30:35 my ass out of here tonight it was good 2:30:38 hanging with you let's get back to our 2:30:41 ornament there's our AI learning lab 2:30:43 ornament this is what inspired Ted thank 2:30:46 you for INSP spiring the making the cool 2:30:48 ornaments cuz that's so cool in Show and 2:30:50 Tell um if you haven't joined the AI 2:30:53 salon so a couple of things to just wrap 2:30:55 things up here uh if you want to support 2:30:57 the channel you can subscribe to the 2:30:58 lives you can buy the um video series 2:31:03 down in the corner here called 2:31:05 underhyped it's a whole series of videos 2:31:08 on just me talking about this AI [ __ ] 2:31:10 and why I think it's significant how to 2:31:12 use it how to not get overwhelmed by it 2:31:14 um you can follow the channel 2:31:17 you can join the AI salon so go to the 2:31:21 salon. and the first link there is a 2:31:24 link to our Mighty networks Community go 2:31:27 check out the values go look at about 2:31:29 the 2:31:30 salon um and if you dig it join the 2:31:33 community and come come back here 2:31:34 regularly just come back I'm here 2:31:37 nightly you're like but not every night 2:31:39 no [ __ ] every night I did I wasn't 2:31:42 here on 2:31:45 Thanksgiving every night 2:31:48 and sometimes during the day like if if 2:31:50 something pops off like Gemini was 2:31:52 launched I I spontaneously went 2:31:55 live 2:31:57 so if I can be 2:32:00 here I'm a large old 2:32:05 man I'm not tall I'm just large I'm a 2:32:09 large old man with Bob's Big Boy hair if 2:32:13 I can be here you can be here so just 2:32:15 come back all right 2:32:17 and then let me let me first of all 2:32:20 thank you to the mods again like I feel 2:32:22 like you guys have been modding modding 2:32:25 good like when 2:32:27 I when I don't 2:32:29 notice the modding happening that means 2:32:31 it's really good and so it's just been 2:32:34 really smooth lately so thank you all of 2:32:37 you who who do that because I know it's 2:32:39 it's taxing chaotic work um so thank you 2:32:44 um Debbie I'm like a sponge I can't soak 2:32:47 up enough of this information I thank 2:32:50 you I'm the same way I am right there 2:32:52 with you so I'm glad you're enjoying it 2:32:54 ion China ryer died Debbie the same I on 2:32:57 China have a night nice night Kyle Megan 2:33:00 thank you um Edwin has anyone use velvet 2:33:03 texture with neon colors no but go for 2:33:05 it and share it and so and tell Cosmic 2:33:07 lovers 7 this is the favorite part of my 2:33:09 day thank you so much I appreciate that 2:33:12 um Tobias great to see you good night um 2:33:15 Ted looks at live forever hooked digital 2:33:18 Gods steo steo is down under um GPT is 2:33:23 currently pretending it doesn't have 2:33:25 internet access since I asked it about 2:33:27 its privacy policy D I don't know I 2:33:31 don't I can't go look at the internet I 2:33:32 don't know what you're talking about I 2:33:34 wouldn't do that right now I know some 2:33:35 of the safety guard rails right now are 2:33:37 real pain in the ass but whatever just 2:33:40 you know janky pieces of [ __ ] that's the 2:33:42 stage of the industry we're in Jules 2:33:44 good to see 2:33:45 you so could you potentially make a 2:33:48 whole feature film using totally AI 2:33:50 actors with backgrounds Etc yeah 2:33:53 absolutely now so so go to ride or die 2:33:56 go to runway. TV and you'll see most of 2:34:00 them are short form videos two or three 2:34:02 minutes but you could absolutely make a 2:34:03 feature film right now and it would look 2:34:06 like a janky piece of crap 2:34:09 but image 2:34:11 tools like the ones that are making 2:34:14 these remarkably powerful images right 2:34:16 now now 18 months ago the images were 2:34:20 horrible they were worse than the videos 2:34:22 are 2:34:23 today so so you could absolutely make a 2:34:26 feature film today um a year from now 2:34:29 you'll be able to make a good one three 2:34:31 years from now you'll be able to make 2:34:33 one 2:34:34 that's like a film that that that we 2:34:38 would reasonably expect to see today is 2:34:41 there any reason to choose chat GPT over 2:34:43 Bing yes yes if you can get chat gp4 2:34:47 even though Bing is free chat gp4 from 2:34:51 open AI is worth the 20 bucks by a lot 2:34:55 the the the primary reason is that the 2:34:57 way that they've written the safety 2:34:59 guard rails for Bing essentially make it 2:35:03 unusable if you get it all spicy with it 2:35:05 or it all frustrated with it it just 2:35:07 shuts down the conversation it's just 2:35:10 it's just it's not good chat GPT is 2:35:13 annoying as [ __ ] cuz it's got some 2:35:15 safety guard rails that I don't I think 2:35:17 are ridiculous but it's better and just 2:35:20 the the nature of the interaction of how 2:35:23 it how chat GPT calls code interpreter 2:35:26 how it calls the internet how it calls 2:35:29 Del how it reads images it's just a much 2:35:31 more seamless integration than with Bing 2:35:35 so yes I think it's absolutely worth it 2:35:38 um Ted good to see you 2:35:41 um forever hooked great to see you brudy 2:35:45 hen thank you 2:35:48 Winston Dr J Edwin Papa 2:35:52 J all right jrc good to see you 2:35:57 um 2:35:59 jwes all right I think I got everyone 2:36:01 dragonfly Alchemy very nice Debbie 2:36:04 everyone here is awesome I know it's the 2:36:06 everyone here is cool so yeah so go to 2:36:09 the salon hang out chat share images 2:36:11 keep doing that I'll check in over there 2:36:13 but I'm out tonight the voice is going 2:36:15 the ass is numb my eyes are 2:36:18 blur it is time peace out everyone great 2:36:21 to see yall I'll see you tomorrow
