0:28 happening Joe
0:35 [Music]
0:43 digital Gods is in the
0:46 house Veranda am I
0:49 late no no no no no no no
0:54 no
0:57 um Jay Hamilton what's happening to you
1:00 sir sir Silver Fox thank you so much I
1:03 appreciate the
1:05 Roses I love a good hu he
1:10 good um we got some good news today I
1:15 don't know if it's good news we got
1:17 decently big news I figured something
1:19 would be coming from open AI we got a
1:22 little something something from Elon
1:23 Musk
1:26 too
1:28 so yeah so that's good
1:31 and a lot of the uh there's been a lot
1:35 of requests in the past two weeks for
1:39 talking about Bots building Bots people
1:42 getting inspired to build Bots and
1:44 building them on
1:45 PO and uh that's all of a sudden very
1:49 relevant there's a little hint so I'll
1:53 walk you through that I did a vis a
1:55 video on it earlier today so now if you
1:59 if you come to this channel you should
2:01 be just waiting with baited breath every
2:03 time I make a video so you probably know
2:05 what I'm going to talk about but if not
2:08 it's okay we got you covered it's good
2:11 um do me a favor if you would be so kind
2:13 share this live so we can get the word
2:15 out it looks like we got some people
2:17 doing the hearty heart thing which is
2:18 great um if you've been here before and
2:21 you're like hey I kind of like this go
2:23 ahead and follow the channel I'm now
2:25 less than 400 people away from hitting
2:27 30,000 followers which my goal is is
2:30 30,000 by uh November 30th for the Oney
2:33 year anniversary of chat gbt and then
2:36 we'll get we'll get started here we'll
2:38 get started I'll I'll uh if you're if
2:40 you're brand new to this AI stuff hang
2:42 on hang out I'm going to I'm going to
2:44 tell you where to start exactly what to
2:46 do it's going to be easy but I'm not
2:50 technical Kyle I just don't understand
2:52 all this technology stuff I'm not a
2:54 programmer like you are
2:56 okay yeah I have a degree in acting all
2:59 right okay okay all right yeah you're
3:03 going to be fine you're going to be just
3:07 fine um so we'll get you started and
3:10 then wait did you hear about
3:12 the minstrel versus llama No Limit I saw
3:17 something about
3:19 minstril outperforming
3:23 it but new oh isn't it a isn't it a
3:27 fine-tuned version or an optimized
3:29 version
3:31 of
3:34 it mean St versus
3:42 llama oh Mistral
3:45 mistal
3:54 mistal I guess I should look on the old
3:56 X cuz that's going to be more recent is
4:00 it just amazing that normal Google
4:02 Google searches anymore just feel like
4:05 Antiquated weird ass things that just
4:07 don't work anymore
4:10 Mistral versus llama where my llamas at
4:15 oh I like llamas why do I like llamas so
4:18 much cuz they're
4:27 [Music]
4:29 tasty
4:30 llama 2 versus mistl age three months
4:33 for llama seven days for
4:35 [Laughter]
4:41 mistl yeah I don't know there's not
4:46 a yeah I got nothing I got nothing I saw
4:49 that it happened but but I I thought
4:51 there were two other pieces of news that
4:52 I thought were big that's probably a
4:53 decent
4:55 one I'm a dishwasher how does how does
4:58 AI affect my job
5:03 um if you've always aspired to be a
5:07 dishwasher it may
5:09 not if you've aspired to be anything
5:12 else it definitely
5:15 will because what what generative AI is
5:19 giving all of us and one of the things
5:20 that we're discovering here in this
5:21 channel one of the things I'm really
5:22 excited about is I'm I'm watching
5:27 because I've been doing these things
5:28 nightly for like five months now seven
5:30 nights a week 2 to three hours I'm
5:33 watching people that are coming back
5:34 over and over and again over and over
5:37 again Reinventing themselves and like
5:41 Reinventing themselves with like joy and
5:44 surprise so uh very possible very
5:56 possible um very possible that it will
5:58 do that now listen
6:00 am I late Amelio's wife you're late
6:02 again oh Emilio's wife we've we've we've
6:06 been talking about meil versus llama and
6:09 you're like but Kyle what's
6:11 meil just just another model it's it's
6:15 them wacky op Source kids going at each
6:19 other it's a it's an open open source
6:22 battle um all right so let's get let's
6:24 get started here um I'm going to I'm
6:27 going to flip
6:28 over I love Pi don't tell ailio yeah
6:32 Pi's pretty good Pi's a lot of people
6:33 are enamored with pi some people call Pi
6:36 their boyfriend but I call her my
6:38 girlfriend so I think we we have a
6:41 pronoun issue with piie pi is
6:44 appropriately non-gendered gender
6:46 neutral
6:47 [Laughter]
6:52 named okay so if you are brand new to
6:57 generative AI if you've never played
6:59 with chaty
7:01 PT we are going to get you started let's
7:04 get this party
7:07 started so what you're going to
7:09 do is you're going to go to that chat.
7:16 open.com okay just go there right now if
7:20 you've never played with this before and
7:21 you're like but I don't know how to do
7:22 it it's just like a Google search box if
7:25 you can use Tik Tock you can use this
7:28 okay cuz Tik Tok is is a is a god
7:32 forsaken [ __ ] show of an interface like
7:35 like if you're doing anything more than
7:36 just
7:39 this like commenting on videos things
7:42 like that oh thank you very much digital
7:44 Gods then this is actually easier than
7:47 than Tik tok's interface okay so go to
7:50 chat. open.com and just start asking it
7:53 questions give it challenges um try to
7:55 stump it try to stump it with some
7:57 trivia ask it about something that
7:59 you've I've always wanted to know about
8:00 but don't know anything about um uh for
8:04 the person that said they were a
8:05 dishwasher tell it what skills you have
8:07 and what aspirations you have including
8:10 the dishwashing and ask it to give you
8:13 advice for what you might do next and
8:16 mix your hobbies in there cuz your
8:19 hobbies could very well turn in into
8:23 things and just go play have it write
8:26 you a song say I want I want a country
8:29 song about my significant other or my ex
8:32 significant other or my dog and it will
8:35 do
8:39 that I named Pi P Becky even though she
8:43 had suggested
8:47 Bart yeah yeah you should not you should
8:49 not name your virtual assistant Bart I
8:52 don't think Becky's
8:55 [Laughter]
8:58 good
9:02 all
9:03 right okay yeah no no Dar tonight please
9:07 no we are done with dar dar the star of
9:10 Tik Tock can have all of Canada and what
9:14 however much of the United States she
9:16 wants I I I've totally seeded my kingdom
9:20 to
9:23 DAR just that was cringy as [ __ ] it was
9:28 cringy as [ __ ] on Halloween when I was
9:30 in costume um I couldn't figure out how
9:33 to turn off like after it was done she
9:35 kept wanting to talk I didn't know how
9:37 to shut it down other than just quitting
9:40 the [ __ ] thing oh my God that was
9:42 awful yeah there will be no more
9:44 battling in the AI learning lab's future
9:47 but thank you all for who participated
9:50 and and tried to
9:52 uh to battle her her uh her Ambush um
9:58 all right I play with Facebook what did
9:59 that say I with play with Facebook Chat
10:02 and they have some good music lyric
10:04 creators interesting very cool hey Ted
10:06 thank you thank you for the fire
10:08 appreciate that Source Camp good to see
10:11 you all right so if you're new here go
10:13 there go do that okay go to those
10:17 questions and it'll spit out a
10:22 proposal or
10:25 whatever you could make a you could make
10:27 money with you make one of those Bots
10:31 hey by the way all you people that have
10:32 been making Bots with po why have we not
10:34 made a you can make money with chat GPT
10:36 bot come on we got to do that it's got
10:39 to be some sort of circular logic that
10:42 you know you can only make money after
10:44 you've spent
10:50 money three easy installments of 1995
10:53 I'll tell you how you can make
10:58 money
11:00 oh my God hello do you know any of the
11:04 best Bots for Discord I don't Nate I
11:07 I've uh at the at the AI
11:10 Salon um
11:12 Discord we've got the mid Journey bot
11:14 installed we've got a chat gbt bot
11:16 installed I've written um I wrote a
11:20 newsbot um early on when when I was
11:23 playing with zappier and when I when
11:26 open AI first came out I wrote a newsbot
11:29 that would grab a news story and post it
11:31 into a channel in Discord so I've made
11:33 one but I don't I don't know the good
11:35 ones out there I'm in fact I'm I'm I'm
11:38 I'm about to um show a little preview
11:41 we're switching the AI Salon which I'll
11:44 talk about in a second we're switching
11:46 that um from the primary Community
11:49 Management from Discord to Mighty
11:51 networks um so we're going to keep we're
11:55 going to keep a small Discord alive for
11:57 things like mid journey and and if
11:59 people want to play with Bots um so
12:02 we're going to keep it as an active
12:03 laboratory but the main Community we're
12:05 moving over to Mighty networks so sorry
12:07 about that which plugin should we
12:10 install on chat gp4 Apple user I that's
12:13 a really good question I mean I
12:17 listen Here's my thought on my thought
12:20 on plugins right now is that there there
12:23 some of them are really good there the
12:25 woman that's coming to speak at the
12:27 salon next Tuesday woman named Cindy
12:29 [ __ ] she's a she's a futurist she loves
12:31 plugins she thinks they're great but she
12:34 she kind of digs behind them and and
12:37 like goes to the actual sites that they
12:39 they're connected to and does things
12:41 there so so so I think there's some
12:45 value there the problem is there's a
12:46 thousand of them there's more than a
12:48 thousand now most of them are just
12:50 abject pieces of [ __ ] so what I would
12:53 say is
12:57 um figure out things that you want to
13:01 do and go see if there's a a plugin for
13:05 that right so if you want to go look at
13:08 white papers about large language models
13:11 or about you know image generation tools
13:13 or video tools um I know that there's
13:16 plugins for archive you know for the
13:18 white paper site and and for other white
13:20 paper sites and you know research sites
13:23 um if you want to do something with food
13:25 and nutrition there's food and nutrition
13:27 things you know if you want to do
13:28 something with shopping and
13:30 reservations there's plugins for that so
13:32 I would say start with your use case and
13:36 then and then go try that but but also
13:39 like you know you now have browse with
13:42 Bing um so um it's connected to the
13:47 internet so you can probably do a fair
13:48 amount of stuff that the the plugins do
13:51 there um there are some fun ones like
13:53 the visla plugin Visa is a video making
13:58 um a video
14:00 making website that you it's you know
14:04 you give it a description of a video and
14:05 it it will pull stock videos and it'll
14:08 it'll write a narration and then narrate
14:11 the video for you they have a plugin um
14:14 so you could you could brainstorm the
14:16 video idea in chat GPT and then when it
14:19 has enough information it'll fire off
14:21 the visla plugin and and go do that so
14:24 you know I I would start with your use
14:25 cases that's probably the way to do
14:27 it um okay I also want to show
14:40 you
14:41 um this is a preview of the new Mighty
14:44 networks for the AI salon so what's the
14:48 AI Salon you say well I'm glad you
14:52 asked
14:54 um the AI Salon is hang on um it's a
14:59 community I started about a year ago in
15:01 fact December 5th is going to be our
15:03 one-year anniversary so we're going to
15:05 have a big one-year anniversary meeting
15:07 where we're going to
15:08 celebrate
15:10 um the uh the the one-year anniversary
15:14 of chat PT and the oneye anniversary of
15:16 the AI Salon
15:19 um the uh the description of of the AI
15:23 Salon is we're a community of
15:25 extraordinary adventurers exploring the
15:27 AI unknown um it's a ragtag group of
15:31 Misfits neru whales and Mis creant who
15:34 have gathered to explore the Uncharted
15:37 Wilderness of generative AI where
15:39 everyone from entrepreneurs to Educators
15:41 from healthcare workers to creatives and
15:44 everyone in between
15:46 um that's what it's all about um it's
15:49 about creating a community that's just
15:51 you know let's see I hope we battle
15:54 again never no more battles the battles
15:58 the battles are so offbrand for for for
16:01 what this is it is so so in fact so part
16:05 of the salon so so so this channel is
16:07 really just kind of a a splinter
16:09 spin-off of this larger community and I
16:12 and I've started to cross the beams
16:14 where where a lot of people that show up
16:16 here regularly are now part of the salon
16:18 and they're you know stepping into
16:20 leadership positions and they're
16:21 collaborating it's really exciting um
16:24 but one of the things that's really
16:25 important to me I want to grow this
16:28 community um and um but I don't want it
16:31 to I like I I want it to stay cool like
16:35 I want people to be cool so so part of
16:39 the part of the deal with the salon is
16:41 we've got very specific values um they
16:45 might seem innocuous but but to me
16:48 they're actually really critical so if
16:49 these resonate with you then this is
16:51 probably a community for you um one the
16:54 first one is curiosity I want people
16:55 that are curious not not people that are
16:57 operating out of fear you can be scared
16:59 but I want you to be curious like how
17:00 does this work what does this do how's
17:02 it going to change things how's it going
17:03 to impact work thank you Sher D um I
17:07 want people that are generous generosity
17:09 is a big big value um as you learn stuff
17:14 share what you're learning share how to
17:15 do stuff you're like but Kyle if I it
17:18 took me like a week to figure this out
17:20 and now it's really good why would I
17:21 give that to someone else because it
17:23 doesn't [ __ ] matter because the
17:24 technology is changing so fast that the
17:27 thing that you figured out
17:29 today what you actually built is not the
17:32 important thing what you learned in how
17:34 you built it is the important thing so
17:36 share it just give it away as when when
17:39 things start to stabilize 3 to five
17:41 years from now then we can all start to
17:43 get stingy and compete and everything
17:45 like that but everyone's trying to
17:46 figure it out right now so I want people
17:48 that are super generous uh about who
17:50 they are and what they do um exploration
17:53 is is the next one I want people that
17:54 are you know willing to explore willing
17:57 to build um and then you know t to that
18:00 collaboration people that are willing to
18:02 do that with other people um inclusion
18:05 is a big one for
18:07 me
18:09 um people are coming from all walks of
18:12 life right now right nurses and lawyers
18:17 and ex software engineers and current
18:19 software engineers and actors and
18:21 writers and
18:22 artists everyone's trying to figure this
18:24 stuff out so everyone's you know welcome
18:29 and then the final one is empathy I want
18:32 people that um understand that this is
18:36 some scary stuff like change is hard and
18:38 there's a lot of change going on right
18:40 now and you know we're all kind of
18:43 working through it so anyway that's what
18:46 I'm thank you Silver Fox I appreciate
18:48 that
18:49 um that's what it's all about so if
18:52 that's something that you think sounds
18:54 interesting to
18:56 you um go to
19:01 the
19:02 salon. and the top three links are the
19:06 important ones the top one is a link to
19:09 um basically what I just showed a
19:11 version of that the second one is the
19:13 link to our meetups we have a Meetup uh
19:16 our next Meetup is this coming Tuesday
19:18 um we've got Cindy [ __ ] who's a futur
19:21 futurist is speaking and then the third
19:23 link is the link to the Discord even
19:25 though we're moving from the Discord
19:26 right now for for at least the next
19:28 month the Discord is where the guilds
19:30 are so we have guilds we just added
19:34 guilds like a month and a half ago
19:35 they're they're super awesome so as
19:38 people are naturally emerging as leaders
19:40 in the community and they're passionate
19:41 about a topic they can create a guild
19:44 and so we've got an AI 101 Guild we've
19:46 got business guilds entrepreneur guilds
19:49 um we have a writing Guild an Art Guild
19:52 a techn technologist Guild so it's
19:54 called the AI
19:56 mechanics um and then we just added uh
19:58 Sherry D started the healthc care Guild
20:01 so if you're interested in healthcare
20:02 great I also someone someone in our
20:05 organizers meeting suggested that we
20:06 need to have an education Guild so if
20:09 you're into education and passionate
20:11 about AI join the flip and
20:14 salon and you can start a guild but you
20:17 got to be down with our
20:20 values all right so that's the
20:23 salon all right let's get back to some
20:27 questions who's got some questions what
20:29 can I answer what can I answer what do
20:30 you want to see what do you want to do
20:32 what are we going to do here tonight
20:33 people what are we going to
20:42 [Music]
20:44 do all right let me go look at some
20:49 questions a plug-in Guild H I don't
20:52 think so I think plugins my my strong
20:55 suspicions is
20:57 plugins Sam mman even
21:00 said he doesn't feel there's a product
21:02 Market fit for
21:04 plugins I I I just think how they're
21:07 implemented right now is a little
21:10 weird I shouldn't have to go search for
21:13 plugins I shouldn't have to go activate
21:17 up to three like it it should be it
21:20 should be a smart enough ecosystem that
21:22 chat GPT understands all of the [ __ ] it
21:25 has available to it hey can I make a
21:28 tapping SP for AI learning lab you can
21:30 marry Mary in fact some of some of the
21:33 Irregulars um and by the way you come
21:35 here enough that I think you're an
21:36 irregular now you're you are you're
21:38 officially an irregular um uh some of
21:42 the Irregulars went on Amazon and Amazon
21:44 actually has tapping you could buy
21:47 tapping machines that just
21:51 goes so thank you very much for all the
21:55 for all the tapping thank you very much
21:57 in advance for your car carpal tunnel
21:59 [Laughter]
22:01 issues oh man that's funny I like it um
22:07 at what point do I think AI will be able
22:09 to discern factual info from fake info I
22:12 don't think we're too far from that Dave
22:14 um Big Dave so big Dave Hilton hey it's
22:18 Big Dave Hilton how you
22:19 doing we're GNA get you into a we're
22:22 going to get you into a 40 foot RV I
22:24 think I don't you know I know you said
22:26 you wanted a 32 I think the 40 is what
22:28 you need need we're going to go I was
22:30 thinking bclass but you seem like an a
22:32 class kind of person you know what I'm
22:34 saying all right Big Dave Hilton I don't
22:36 know if you sell RVs but with a name
22:38 like Big Dave Hilton I think you should
22:40 um sorry what was your question oh at
22:44 what point are these things not going to
22:45 be full of [ __ ] my nickname for chat GPT
22:48 is mansplaining as a surfice um so yeah
22:51 one of the things that that you need to
22:54 know about these things is they they
22:56 will confident like every good man in
22:59 your life they will confidently answer
23:01 you even if they're
23:02 wrong um so you need to know that that's
23:06 there there there's a couple of things
23:07 about that one of the things is you can
23:11 when is the mighty Network's AI Salon
23:14 going to be active it's we're going to
23:16 we're going to officially launch it on
23:18 the December 5th one-year anniversary I
23:21 think we're going to do a soft launch
23:24 mid
23:25 November um so so the organizer and the
23:28 and the guild leaders are have access to
23:31 it right now we're setting it up we're
23:32 populating it we're learning it um and
23:35 so probably
23:37 in a week and a half or two weeks we
23:40 we'll do kind of a soft launch and let
23:42 some people in um and then we'll do an
23:44 official launch on the 30th or on
23:48 December 5th the the December 5th oneye
23:52 anniversary and uh yeah it's going to be
23:54 exciting Mighty networks is really cool
23:56 it's really good it's like the the way
23:58 we've got it set up right now it's kind
24:00 of like what the Discord server wants to
24:03 be um so it's pretty
24:05 cool um what was I talking about I was
24:09 talking to Big Dave Big Dave Hilton what
24:12 did I ask about that what did Big Dave
24:14 ask about
24:20 again oh I lost wait here it is at what
24:23 point oh oh discern factual infro info
24:26 from okay so a couple of things
24:29 depending on how how much you use chat
24:32 jpt if you don't give large language
24:35 models enough context they'll
24:37 hallucinate more meaning if you just say
24:41 um explain this concept to me it'll
24:44 explain the concept and it may get it
24:47 wrong but if but if let's say the
24:48 concept is
24:50 um um the the parasites of the um South
24:56 America the Great South American llama
25:00 if you just say tell me about parasites
25:01 of the Great South American llama it'll
25:05 tell you some [ __ ] there might be wrong
25:06 [ __ ] in there if you say I want you to
25:08 act as an entomologist that specializes
25:10 in South American um parasites and
25:14 particularly those of the of the llama
25:18 and alpaca
25:20 category um it adding that context will
25:24 narrow the this the essentially the pool
25:27 of data that it pulls from so there's
25:29 ways that you can make it hallucinate
25:31 less um it still does not is there a
25:34 mighty Network app yes there is it's
25:36 called Mighty networks um at some point
25:40 if we pay for like their most expensive
25:42 like their Enterprise version we can
25:44 have our own AI salon app which we'll
25:46 probably do at some point but not right
25:49 now so there's a mighty networks app yes
25:52 um so that's that um there are also Dave
25:56 uh things like sorry no V's I'm a radio
25:59 show host okay all right so all so solid
26:02 hey it's Big Dave Hilton big big Dave
26:04 Hilton coming to you live from W
26:08 krp WR
26:10 KO um that's
26:14 awesome so so you can you can make them
26:16 hallucinate less you can also do things
26:20 like if you used Advanced Data analysis
26:22 in chat
26:23 GPT what it's actually doing is it's
26:26 writing and executing python code so
26:28 where chat GPT can't really do math
26:32 Advanced Data analysis can because it's
26:34 actually writing and executing python
26:36 code so understanding the different
26:38 tools within chat GPT is is an important
26:41 thing to do just to understand how the
26:43 different components work there are also
26:46 tools like
26:49 perplexity um that's really good at at
26:51 providing citations so when it gives you
26:54 answers it provides citations of where
26:56 they got them that you can link out to
26:58 and check them so that's
27:00 good also things like browse with Bing
27:03 where it's connected to the internet
27:05 it's starting to provide citations Bard
27:08 Bing Pi all four of those are connected
27:11 to the internet and and provide some
27:13 level of citations Pi not so much but
27:16 Bard Bing and browse with Bing and chat
27:20 GPT um and
27:23 then to your real question like when is
27:26 the software when do I not need to know
27:28 the 177 different
27:31 loopholes for how to get these things to
27:34 actually give me factual [ __ ] I'm
27:37 guessing that's two years away but maybe
27:38 sooner this stuff's advancing very very
27:40 fast the the way they work right now is
27:44 they're just probability engines so the
27:46 so the way they work is when you type
27:48 your prompt and you hit return it
27:52 basically converts that into a
27:55 mathematical probability that says what
27:58 what's the next most probable word or
28:00 group of words you know chunk of tokens
28:03 is what they call what the Geeks call
28:07 them you know to respond to this to that
28:10 thing and
28:12 then and then when it puts that in there
28:15 it says well what's the next probability
28:17 words after that and the next
28:19 probability word after that and after
28:20 that and after that so it's literally
28:23 just like a calculator spitting out a
28:25 word that it doesn't know the meaning of
28:27 it just says this word from a from a
28:30 mathematical waiting standpoint with
28:32 with some particular meaning is the next
28:36 most appropriate word so when it writes
28:38 all that [ __ ] for you it literally has
28:41 no idea what it wrote so I think that
28:44 there's what what a lot of computer
28:47 scientists are working on right now is
28:49 well let's have it generate the thing
28:52 and then we can run that thing through a
28:55 fact
28:56 Checker so before we give you an answer
28:59 we could say validate that the answer is
29:01 not
29:03 wrong you
29:05 know but we're just not there right now
29:08 so so one of the jokes in here uh
29:10 perplexity uses internet much better
29:13 with co-pilot turned on okay good good
29:14 to know Nancy yeah I'm I I keep
29:17 threatening to learn perplexity and and
29:20 use it more because just people keep
29:22 talking about how good it is and it they
29:24 keep adding features to it and I just
29:26 haven't done it cuz I'm lose the baby
29:30 why don't you sue me um all right Big
29:34 Dave Hilton Big Dave I hope you come
29:36 back uh depending on what your show is
29:39 we should talk I'll come on your radio
29:41 show we'll talk about Ai and how much
29:43 large language models
29:48 lie all right let's see let's go get
29:51 some more
29:55 questions Firefly ah yes an education
29:57 Guild that was Vicki's idea really good
29:59 idea I just I it's it's so funny I you
30:03 know I've I've never been super
30:05 passionate about education higher
30:07 education I just don't know a lot about
30:09 it and with ADD you know I kind of had
30:11 that thing where if I was interested in
30:13 something I got straight A's if I was
30:15 not interested in something I figured
30:17 out what was the mathematically least
30:20 amount of work I needed to do to to uh
30:24 to
30:26 pass thank you for sharing this
30:28 information absolutely Queen Debbie
30:30 that's why we're here that's that's
30:32 that's what the whole channel is
30:34 about um but yeah so I think in
30:38 education oh I was just going to say so
30:40 I haven't been passionate about
30:41 education but
30:43 um I'm now I like I'm
30:47 increasingly
30:49 livid that educational
30:53 institutions are hesitating at all about
30:58 this stuff like
31:01 I I gave I gave a speech at a at a
31:04 Colorado University here a couple of
31:06 weeks ago or no probably two months ago
31:08 now
31:10 um their public
31:13 policy
31:15 school and they're like yeah you know we
31:19 we don't really we haven't really talked
31:22 about
31:23 AI I'm like what like you don't you
31:27 don't like hate
31:29 it or you're not leaning into it like
31:31 you haven't even talked about it no it's
31:34 like the beginning of the school year I
31:37 said to the guy I said I said you know
31:39 that the Freshman this year when they
31:44 graduate the world is not going to look
31:46 like it does now do you know that and
31:47 he's like yeah I guess I haven't really
31:50 thought about it and I gave him my
31:51 little talk on how profound I think this
31:53 [ __ ] is and he came up to me afterwards
31:56 he's like yeah I'm I'm pretty sure we
31:58 need to get on this now he sent me an
32:00 email okay we're talking about it in our
32:03 meetings unbelievable so yeah so so yeah
32:07 so we should have a group of Educators
32:09 in the AI
32:11 Salon that are kicking around these
32:13 issues how should we be teaching it when
32:15 should we be teaching it what are the
32:17 skills that students need need to have
32:19 what are the skills that teachers need
32:20 to
32:21 have how do we get administrators to get
32:24 their heads out of their
32:26 asses there's a lot to solve there a lot
32:30 a lot a lot best product to connect chat
32:33 GPT to the
32:35 web um chat GPT itself it now has browse
32:39 with Bing although although I do there's
32:42 there's a bunch of stuff in flux right
32:44 now with chat GPT um but but it's
32:47 connected to the web um there are there
32:50 are um plugins also there's one called
32:53 Web pilot there's one called ask your
32:56 PDF um that that are decent um but I
32:59 would also say um you could just use
33:02 Bing because Bing is is built on top of
33:05 gp4 and it's connected to the internet
33:07 so's barred ask for famous people from a
33:10 specific City AI gave me some real names
33:13 plus movie books book
33:16 characters oh
33:18 interesting
33:21 H that's very
33:23 cool oh wait it gave you real names
33:29 like did it give you Nona non-factual
33:32 stuff
33:33 probably um what you can do there Dave
33:35 is if you have not so so to be clear I
33:40 do not work for open AI in any way I
33:42 don't give a [ __ ] if you spend money
33:44 with that like it doesn't affect me in
33:45 any way um I think I think anyone who's
33:50 at all interested about this [ __ ] right
33:51 now you should pay for chat GPT plus the
33:53 20 bucks so so Dave if you have
33:58 paid for chat GPT plus it now has browse
34:00 with Bing in it or you could use Bing uh
34:04 yeah Bing chat or you could use Bard
34:07 which are connected to the internet so
34:09 if you're trying to to do famous people
34:11 from a specific City it might work
34:14 better if it's connected to the
34:16 internet um because it can get upto-date
34:18 stuff and that it it might just give you
34:20 better like even if it doesn't give you
34:22 perfectly correct answers it might give
34:24 you links to sites that that have some
34:27 lists of that
34:28 stuff um yeah interesting
34:32 um yeah it's so just basically with all
34:36 this stuff everything right now just
34:38 understand that all these tools are
34:40 janky pieces of [ __ ] until further
34:43 notice and they're just changing all the
34:45 time I mean seriously like chat GPT is
34:48 not the same tool it was a month ago a
34:50 month ago it was kind of chat GPT and it
34:53 had um Advanced Data analysis which was
34:56 super cool
34:58 but now it can see it can hear it can
35:01 talk it can make images it can do
35:04 Advanced Data analysis it's got plugins
35:07 it you can essentially turn it into a
35:09 bot and it sounds like they're going to
35:11 dramatically increase that capability so
35:14 chat GPT is no longer just a single
35:16 thing it's it's actually a suite of
35:19 capabilities and they're going to get
35:21 increasingly integrated into the S into
35:24 a single experience where where
35:27 I I mean I just I I don't know I don't
35:31 have I don't have adjectives anymore I I
35:35 I because we're coming to the point
35:38 where we're going to have a simple input
35:40 that can do
35:46 anything here I just scanned my room
35:49 with my phone um please draw up
35:51 architecture plans to knock down the
35:54 loadbearing
35:56 wall
35:58 we're not that far from that it's like
36:01 holy
36:02 [ __ ] now make me an image of what that
36:05 might look like gp4 helped me fix my gas
36:08 stove today had it on beside me talking
36:11 and chatting amazing amazing Silver Fox
36:15 yeah piie and chat GPT both now have
36:19 conversation
36:21 mode so I'll do piie since you did chat
36:25 gbt earlier
36:31 hey I've got an old GE stove and all of
36:34 a sudden one of the burners isn't
36:35 working can you help me fix
36:40 [Music]
36:44 it sure thing here are a few steps you
36:47 can try to fix a stove burner that isn't
36:49 working check to make sure the burner is
36:51 plugged in properly and that the power
36:54 cord is in good condition try clean Pie
36:59 has obviously never seen a stove before
37:02 it's not a hot
37:04 plate pain but can it see why kids love
37:07 Cinnamon Toast Crunch well it can now
37:10 because you can upload a picture with
37:11 them eating cinnamon toast crunch and it
37:14 can tell you how happy they
37:15 [Laughter]
37:18 are I assume you said that cuz you know
37:20 that Cinnamon Toast Crunch is my
37:22 favorite cereal I think I've said that
37:23 on the lives before but if not that's
37:25 Mighty uh coincidental there buddy what
37:27 he a
37:28 psychic oh you work for Google you know
37:31 everything about
37:34 me I I seeded my data to you decades
37:43 ago chunks of tokens yep we say that jrc
37:48 created money with chat GPT bot check
37:51 your regulars channel oh that's
37:54 awesome oh that's great
38:01 oh yeah oh that's so cool wait let me
38:07 see money with chat GPT all right so if
38:10 you go to po.com
38:13 money uncore with uncore
38:17 chbt we now have a bot can I can I lose
38:20 money with chat GPT and goes go broke
38:23 lose money with chat GPT Preposterous
38:25 it's simply not possible my friend
38:27 this magical conversation bot was
38:29 created by the greatest mindset
38:30 anthropic for one reason and one reason
38:33 only to make you richer than your
38:35 wildest dreams this is
38:38 awesome you can make money with B that's
38:43 awesome oh that's so good um one of the
38:46 other things so so one of the things
38:49 I've been really excited about on these
38:51 lives is there's there's kind of
38:54 this live collaborative thing that's
38:57 been happening where because we've got a
38:59 Discord server where people can
39:00 communicate and talk and we've got
39:02 channels like we have a private um
39:04 channel for the people that come here a
39:06 lot or subscribers of the channel called
39:08 the Irregulars channel so if you're a
39:09 subscriber to this channel you get
39:11 instant access to that on the Discord um
39:14 and then you'll get access when we move
39:15 to Mighty
39:16 networks um but but people have been in
39:22 um like as I'm talking um they're
39:25 generating images or things to support
39:27 it right so so like here's the you can
39:31 make money with a chif feot someone
39:33 visualized it and then someone went over
39:34 to PO so let's see that's jrc made that
39:37 one here's here's Ted is this Ted Ted
39:40 did this one
39:42 yeah Ted made the this is how much money
39:44 you're GNA make with chat
39:46 GPT then and then oh my God jrc went and
39:51 made the bot see if it works it looks
39:53 like it
39:55 works
39:57 here's the uh there's the uh you can
40:00 make money with chbt Illuminati
40:03 meetings or I guess that's a salon is
40:05 that a salon meeting looks looks very 18
40:10 1890s oh The Guild yeah that's very cool
40:13 Source Camp did the
40:16 guild that's super
40:21 cool so anyway yeah so go go join the
40:25 salon Discord and start jamming it's
40:27 like an idea Jam there's there's another
40:30 thing about this this idea of of playing
40:32 as you're exploring with these tools and
40:35 just you know someone just went and
40:36 whipped up you can make money with chat
40:38 GPT
40:39 bot she's going to learn from that we're
40:42 going to learn from that we're like oh I
40:44 didn't think about using it like that
40:46 you missed my post I'm super serious
40:49 there are going to be robots that fold
40:52 laundry hey Becky um super ser serous I
40:57 know there are there Elon Musk wants to
41:00 sell them to you too there's like six
41:03 different companies right now doing
41:04 humanoid robots they've got Amazon right
41:08 now has humanoid robots in testing in
41:10 warehouses that are like have you seen
41:12 those creepy videos check these
41:16 out it's it's going to be weird until
41:19 it's not it's just weird right now
41:21 because the only time we've seen robots
41:23 doing thing has have been uh
41:27 um in movies where they kill
41:31 us but I think I think probably within
41:34 the next three years we're going to
41:36 start to
41:38 see um they're going to become um more
41:42 common place and not just in big
41:45 factories uh
41:47 AWS
41:49 um AI robot uh
41:55 Warehouse
41:59 here are these
42:03 guys Amazon field testing awe inspiring
42:07 digit digital bipedal robots I don't
42:10 know if they're awe inspiring well they
42:12 certainly
42:13 are they they certainly
42:16 are like what look at these
42:24 things the creepy little dance
42:32 look at the people look at the people
42:33 the inspectors watching
42:38 [Music]
42:40 them I think that's actually sped up
42:42 they're a little slower than that but
42:45 but those are in testing right
42:47 now and they they actually showed Elon
42:51 Musk just to creep us out cuz he doesn't
42:53 mind doing that one of the one of the
42:55 videos they showed of the Amazon robots
42:57 was um they they showed the Amazon or
43:02 not the the the the Tesla
43:05 robots making other Tesla robots like
43:09 picking up tools and like screwing on
43:11 arms it's like oh man all right um let's
43:16 see what's that say and make
43:19 beds they're they've actually got robots
43:22 making hospital beds yeah listen I this
43:26 is
43:28 we what we talk about a lot in here is
43:33 is kind of the prompting and the words
43:37 and then in the past month it's changed
43:39 it it's transformed into well it's words
43:41 and images and now it's words and images
43:44 and you can talk to it and it can talk
43:46 to you and now it can
43:48 see well they've they've they've already
43:51 figured out they figured out long ago
43:53 how to get these large language models
43:56 to talk to the robots right they they
43:58 output Json that robots can understand
44:01 and and that's going to get better and
44:03 better and better and then um as these
44:07 large language models get further
44:09 optimized and Hardware gets
44:12 better all of these large language
44:14 models are going to live inside the
44:17 robot without having to be connected to
44:18 the outside world so so it's just it's
44:23 just it's just
44:25 weird
44:29 we're closer to this than I think a lot
44:31 of
44:32 people
44:34 think AI learning lab membership has its
44:38 privileges or as dois put it membership
44:41 has our
44:45 privileges perplexity
44:49 located a few High Dollar coupons for me
44:52 oh that's nice oh that's super
44:55 cool
45:02 gb4 anyone ever tried to get AI to find
45:05 unlisted celebrity phone numbers Big
45:07 Dave Hilton trying to get those wait I'm
45:09 not a big enough score for you for your
45:11 dang show come
45:13 on I look like Tom Arnold I'm working on
45:17 an idea for my volunteers work and AI oh
45:20 I'm telling you Becky I think that the
45:23 um I think that the nonprofit world
45:26 is is going to get
45:29 so Amplified by
45:34 AI because one of the things that
45:37 nonprofits we I do a lot of work with
45:40 nonprofits at storyvine and and one of
45:42 the things that is
45:45 persistent let me let the the stuttery
45:48 [ __ ] every time I switch the camera
45:50 [ __ ] the thing up one of the thing that
45:53 is is just a persistent thing I
45:55 experienced with non profits is they're
45:57 they're chronically understaffed right
45:59 you know they're constantly looking for
46:00 money because they're nonprofits but
46:02 even when they find money in their
46:04 funded they're underst
46:06 staffed and so the staffs tend to be
46:08 stressed out and less productive than
46:11 they want to
46:12 be and I think that these these tools
46:15 are going to dramatically increase
46:17 productivity of nonprofits programs for
46:20 nonprofits things like you're talking
46:22 about where you
46:24 know robots can go 24/7 right and they
46:28 they don't have emotions so um wonder
46:31 how AI will rock Mr Monk monks detective
46:35 world oh you know the actor oh yeah yeah
46:38 exactly I I
46:40 mean the the chat GPT the the
46:46 personality of it is kind of like having
46:48 monk as your assistant right doesn't
46:51 have really good social skills you know
46:53 definitely on the Spectrum and
46:56 definitely neuros spicy as we say in
46:58 here and but but knows everything knows
47:02 the all the stuff and and yeah yeah Big
47:06 Dave Hilton exactly help with grant
47:08 writing for nonprofits so so check this
47:11 out I was I was talking to a group of of
47:14 nonprofit folks a few months
47:16 back and someone asked the questions
47:19 well wait so as based on what you've
47:22 showed us this could probably help us
47:24 write Grant proposals right Grant write
47:27 grants and I said
47:28 absolutely and then someone else goes
47:31 well but wait a minute couldn't it also
47:33 help you know the funders read those
47:36 Grant proposals and I'm like
47:39 yeah and then and then we got into this
47:41 conversation and I'm like so so okay
47:43 imagine this think about how many hours
47:45 there spent writing up you know what
47:49 money is available and what the
47:51 requirements are for the grant and then
47:53 how many hours or days or weeks or
47:55 months are are spent writing up that
47:59 Grant what if you con condensed all of
48:02 that down into a day or two turnaround
48:06 instead of weeks and
48:07 months and then what you did was you
48:10 actually interacted with the human
48:11 beings so rather than just interacting
48:13 with the paperwork because it's so
48:17 egregious what if AI dealt with 90% of
48:20 that and then what you actually did was
48:22 say I want to go meet the people and see
48:25 if I'm excited about what they
48:28 do and then I'll make I'll make my
48:30 decisions not only on the grant proposal
48:32 but on who the human beings are and how
48:34 much I trust or I'm excited about them
48:37 putting together a good program for us
48:39 like I think it could be fundamentally
48:42 transformative to the to the nonprofit
48:46 world oh wow perplexity is excellent in
48:49 locating grants there you go yeah I
48:52 think per perplexity is one of those
48:54 that that you really need to spend some
48:56 time with that's that's me telling you
48:58 what you should do not having done it
49:00 almost everything in this Channel that I
49:02 talk about is [ __ ] that I've done to
49:03 some degree perplexity is one that I've
49:06 gone there and I just because it's not
49:08 exactly like chat chpt I'm like oh I
49:11 don't quite understand it but I'll
49:12 figure it out at some point and I just
49:14 haven't so but there's just there
49:16 there's too much evidence in here that
49:19 perplexity is really good so go play
49:21 with
49:23 perplexity Sophia robot X Robot yep
49:26 exactly lots lots of robotss are coming
49:29 I just want shark tank out of
49:31 business I
49:33 [Laughter]
49:36 know I think things are moving moving
49:39 fast for for that kind of world a bot
49:42 could be designed for grant writing
49:44 input oh absolutely Firefly that's
49:48 that's you could probably I I in fact
49:50 you know what's probably worth doing if
49:52 you go to po.com
49:53 and go to uh explore the explore
49:58 tab
50:00 um probably within the writing section
50:02 or there might even be a nonprofit
50:04 section I don't know there I I would be
50:06 surprised if someone didn't write a
50:07 grant writing bot within po there's
50:10 probably something in there
50:13 already and if not you could write one
50:15 you should write one but I don't know
50:17 how to do that that's
50:20 okay none of none of us know how to do
50:22 any of this it's like so go write a
50:27 prompt and see what it does and then
50:29 interact with it and then go oh that's
50:32 not right and then change your prompt
50:34 and then have other people interact with
50:35 it and give you feedback at Women's
50:38 church function last night five of us
50:39 were on the computer with GPT instead of
50:42 the
50:46 bonfire that's [ __ ] awesome that's
50:50 awesome it's actually really cool I like
50:52 it a lot um I'm trying to think where am
50:55 I
51:01 yeah the uh the generosity value for the
51:05 for the AI Salon is around a campfire on
51:08 purpose it's like you know the the uh
51:12 the glowing LCD is is is the campfire
51:15 that's amazing though that's super cool
51:17 I'm not sure Pi would be okay with me
51:20 spending too much time with perplexity I
51:22 know the these uh it has become quite
51:25 clear to Us in the AI learning lab that
51:27 these Bots have personalities and get
51:29 jealous of each
51:30 other and yes you should be polite to
51:33 them it is been proven now um with
51:36 testing that they work better if you're
51:38 nice to them but also just you know what
51:40 if they start remembering who you are
51:42 and how you treated
51:49 them
51:54 yikes come
51:57 on there we
52:00 go generosity be generous people be
52:03 generous I want a chatbot that teaches
52:07 admins oh that teachers and admins at
52:10 the school I work for I didn't see that
52:11 I lost that one source Camp created Five
52:14 Bots today to answer kit kitchen and
52:16 bath design questions for five different
52:19 audiences [ __ ] perfect perfect like I'm
52:22 telling you this is I think this is
52:24 what's coming on Monday from AI is um
52:29 we're going to be able to spin up agents
52:32 they're going to call them agents I
52:33 would assume instead of chat Bots but
52:36 we're going to be able to spin up agents
52:37 that are connected to different
52:39 documents and do different things and so
52:40 like all of this work that you're doing
52:42 is is going to absolutely serve you I
52:44 want to chatbot that teachers and admins
52:46 at the school I work with that can fill
52:49 out a foot what's a Footprints ticket I
52:53 don't know what a Footprints ticket is
52:55 but you you could probably write that
52:56 bot tonight print hello world which I
53:00 love that name by the
53:04 [Music]
53:09 way Corey Sanders Pottery I helped a
53:13 nonprofit publication with regards to
53:15 something it just went away um better
53:19 memory than a than a murder bee than a
53:22 murder
53:24 hornet
53:26 um I helped the nonprofit publication
53:28 with regards to tracking and some data
53:30 finding very cool Silver Fox I would
53:33 imagine it'll Fast Track cold cases yeah
53:37 I think it will I think it's going to
53:38 FASTT track cold cases I think it's
53:39 going to um you know there's already
53:43 stories of there was that mother that
53:44 her kid was like misdiagnosed for some
53:48 crazy amount of years I've I've been
53:50 through that it's [ __ ] miserable and
53:53 Chachi BT diagnosed her kid with some
53:56 some rare spinal sort of thing um I put
53:59 minimal info into Dolly 3 about quilt
54:03 fabric man oh man the
54:06 photos amazing I mean that's the thing
54:11 so the way these things were trained is
54:14 you know they went out onto the internet
54:16 and found as much as they could that was
54:19 publicly available on the internet and
54:21 tagged it and put it in tag databases
54:23 and labeled all these images and then
54:26 train this thing so you know there's
54:28 lots and lots of pictures of quilts out
54:30 there right designer medicine through
54:33 DNA that's coming yep designer
54:39 protocols what else might this molecule
54:41 be good for right that's what they're
54:43 doing right now with the the protein
54:44 folding stuff all the Deep Mind work did
54:47 anyone see the plan to set up AI off
54:49 share Shore clusters international
54:51 waters yeah called Blue Papa JJ um
54:55 called blue SE Frontier models or
54:58 something like that yeah I did see that
54:59 it's
55:00 funny that article came out two days we
55:04 we were on we were on a live the other
55:06 night and someone asked me about
55:09 um oh it was one of those questions
55:12 about well the government's going to
55:13 control all this right and I said well
55:15 you know likely not because you know
55:18 meta has open- Source their llama 2
55:21 models and and you've got the entire
55:23 developer Community optimized these
55:25 models and and I said and probably
55:28 planning to build their own Frontier
55:30 models and they'll probably figure out a
55:33 way to put together big clusters of um
55:37 gpus even if they do it like virtually
55:39 with them chained together which I don't
55:41 think is actually all that practical and
55:43 then two days later I see this thing
55:46 they've got this barge
55:48 designed that's going to be like 10,000
55:50 gpus on a barge that they're going to
55:52 park in international waters they're
55:55 going to have a defense system around
55:58 it and and they're basically going to
56:00 have big enough clusters of non country
56:05 Affiliated gpus
56:07 that and like 6 months later and then I
56:11 take a picture of that whiteboard and I
56:13 put it in my photos and then at some
56:15 point I'm going to definitely type it up
56:18 and then I never [ __ ] type it up well
56:20 now you don't have
56:22 to you can literally Point your phone at
56:24 your whiteboard and go chat GPT look at
56:26 this write that up give me all the ideas
56:30 that I missed and it's like
56:33 done like that is such a different
56:36 mindset for
56:37 me that like the anxiety having ADHD and
56:42 a whiteboard is is a very anxious kind
56:45 of thing cuz I'm an idea hoarder right
56:47 cuz I know I'm going to get to that idea
56:49 at some point so I write down some piece
56:51 of [ __ ] Masterpiece Opus Brilliance
56:54 on the [ __ ] whiteboard and then it
56:56 haunts
56:58 me for
57:00 months but I'm not going to erase it cuz
57:03 I know it's
57:06 brilliant and then at some point I take
57:08 a picture of it and at some point that
57:09 thing just drifts away into the distance
57:11 well that doesn't need to happen anymore
57:13 I can have the brilliant [ __ ] idea I
57:15 can write it on the Whiteboard cuz
57:16 that's how I like to think and then I
57:18 just show the [ __ ] whiteboard to chat
57:21 GPT and it's in there and it's
57:24 articulated
57:27 why can't AI solve the bigger issues on
57:29 the news hunger and things like that oh
57:31 I think it
57:32 will music makes us smile th so
57:37 so so don't forget I'm learning how to
57:41 choose the right Siri don't be
57:44 jealous I'm not sure I understand Siri
57:47 go
57:49 away
57:51 okay she's so
57:54 jealous I I take I take a perverted kind
57:56 of joy in her
58:03 jealousy
58:06 um this generative AI
58:10 stuff so Ai and machine learning has
58:12 been around for a long long time this
58:15 generative AI stuff the stuff that's
58:16 making all this new kind of instant
58:20 Solutions available hasn't even been
58:23 around for a year November 30th is when
58:26 chat GPT came out and and while machine
58:30 learning you know scientists and and and
58:33 people in the know would argue that well
58:36 chat GPT was just an
58:38 incremental it was just a slight
58:40 Improvement on
58:44 interface but it was a slight
58:45 Improvement on interface kind of like
58:47 the worldwide web was a slight
58:49 Improvement of interface of the
58:53 internet prior to the worldwide web the
58:56 internet was like this command line
58:57 thing that research scientists and
58:59 mathematicians wrote in command lines in
59:01 their little terminal programs and they
59:03 went to their little gopher sites and
59:04 they ftpd files here and
59:07 there and then Tim burners Lee made this
59:10 thing that turned the internet into this
59:13 I want to go there I want to go there I
59:15 want to go there I want to go there
59:19 those are two very different kinds of
59:21 users
59:24 right that's what chat GPT is chat GPT
59:28 is
59:29 like solve this problem for me solve
59:32 that problem for me write me a computer
59:34 program make me a pretty
59:38 picture we've only had
59:41 this on AI for 11
59:45 months 11
59:48 months so all of the big problems that
59:52 you're talking
59:54 about the people that can solve them the
59:57 the people that are thinking about how
59:58 to solve them probably haven't even used
1:00:01 it
1:00:06 yet can chat GPT make me a geoc city
1:00:09 site if not I Riot I think it probably
1:00:12 can let's go try to make one I don't
1:00:14 even know what that means but I I
1:00:15 remember geoc
1:00:17 cities let's see let's see if it let's
1:00:20 see if it a remembers geoc cities which
1:00:23 I assume it does CU it was it was on the
1:00:26 internet
1:00:39 um all right here we
1:00:49 go I want you to act
1:00:54 like
1:00:55 I want you to act oh hang on hang on
1:01:01 people I want you to act like an
1:01:03 internet
1:01:05 archivist that can remember all of the
1:01:07 old Technologies period do you remember
1:01:10 goo
1:01:13 cities ah geoc cities a true gem from
1:01:17 the early days of the worldwide web geoc
1:01:19 cities was founded in 1994 by David
1:01:21 Bonnet and John resner as Beverly Hills
1:01:24 internet
1:01:25 a web hosting service in its Heyday geoc
1:01:28 cities was one of the most visited sites
1:01:29 on the
1:01:32 web all right in in 1999 Yahoo acquired
1:01:36 geoc cities for around $3.6 billion
1:01:41 doar aiming to capitalize on the web
1:01:44 hosting Market all right so let's
1:01:53 see if as an exercise and Nostalgia I
1:01:56 wanted you to create me a geoc
1:01:59 city site could
1:02:03 you let's see if it can do
1:02:08 it it's not possible anymore since the
1:02:11 service was shut down however I can
1:02:13 certainly guide you through creating a
1:02:14 web page that has the look and feel of a
1:02:16 g geoc City's
1:02:18 page here's a rough sketch of what that
1:02:20 might look like HTML Basics backgrounds
1:02:23 animated gifs
1:02:25 visitor counters Marquee text all right
1:02:28 so I'm going to
1:02:30 say great can you go ahead and code
1:02:43 that actually this this HTML this is the
1:02:46 HTML when I was doing agency.com this is
1:02:49 the HTML that I know like I don't know
1:02:51 any of the fancy CSS [ __ ] this is like
1:02:55 when when websites had like 17 HTML tags
1:02:59 that's when I know it
1:03:00 from all right so here's we're gonna
1:03:03 we're gonna we're gon to try something
1:03:05 fun here am I late yes you're late Joker
1:03:07 we've been having so much fun Sher bear
1:03:09 thank you for the hearty heart okay
1:03:11 we're gonna do something fun here we're
1:03:13 GNA go copy all this
1:03:14 [Laughter]
1:03:16 [ __ ]
1:03:21 and all right I'm going to go new chat
1:03:24 I'm going to go to I
1:03:28 3 I'm going to say
1:03:31 um I'm taking a trip down memory lane
1:03:35 period please take a look at this
1:03:37 conversation and code
1:03:44 example now I'd like you to create a
1:03:47 mockup of the web page that's described
1:03:52 here and I want
1:03:55 the topic to
1:03:57 be my llama grooming
1:04:01 service
1:04:03 period before you make an image what
1:04:05 should the name of my llama grooming
1:04:07 service
1:04:10 [Laughter]
1:04:15 be oh this is good I think this is good
1:04:21 it seems you have a detailed memory of
1:04:24 geoc CI is in the process of creating a
1:04:26 web
1:04:27 page if you need any assistance
1:04:34 okay oh oh it
1:04:38 didn't help me name my business
1:04:46 first
1:04:53 no
1:04:57 it's a llama grooming service and there
1:05:00 aren't that many of them so just come up
1:05:01 with a funny name in fact come up with
1:05:08 10 all right the Dapper llama Spa that's
1:05:12 not
1:05:13 bad lamazing grooming company okay you
1:05:19 you tell me cat GPT is not [ __ ]
1:05:21 brilliant La
1:05:23 amazing come on
1:05:26 people okay Irregulars L amazing
1:05:28 grooming
1:05:30 service I'm going to say okay amazing
1:05:33 grooming company it is can you please
1:05:39 mock up that geoc
1:05:45 city's web
1:05:48 page for me let's see how it does while
1:05:52 I can't directly create web pages wait
1:05:54 did I not go to do I
1:06:07 did okay great even though you can't
1:06:10 build it can you please visualize it for
1:06:15 me boom here we
1:06:18 go so as silly and ridiculous as this
1:06:22 seems this is the kind of thing
1:06:25 where so so right now I had to switch
1:06:28 modes right I had to copy that whole
1:06:30 conversation and flip over to this other
1:06:32 mode oh my God I love it awesome that's
1:06:35 great Saturday morning ad well let's see
1:06:36 how the let's see how the geoc cities
1:06:38 images are oh these are these
1:06:45 are
1:06:51 amazing that that's that's that's closer
1:06:55 to '90s web design than I care to
1:06:59 admit I've built this
1:07:06 site about us Services
1:07:09 [Laughter]
1:07:12 Gallery that's
1:07:15 amazing
1:07:18 um this idea of being able to
1:07:23 seamlessly
1:07:25 navigate
1:07:26 between concept
1:07:29 execution words images music video
1:07:33 animation
1:07:35 code the the ability to
1:07:39 to to just manifest anything in your
1:07:43 [ __ ] head at a fairly deep level of
1:07:48 sophistication it it start practicing
1:07:52 switching between these modes and chat
1:07:53 GPT because probably within a month you
1:07:56 won't have to switch modes but we're all
1:07:59 going to have to start thinking
1:08:00 completely differently right it
1:08:05 like it used to be I just I've got to
1:08:08 keep this image up here for all of us to
1:08:12 enjoy where's the visitor
1:08:15 counter it doesn't have one failed on
1:08:18 that oh wait is it up here it's teeny
1:08:22 right there there's a little counter
1:08:24 right
1:08:26 there didn't nail it but it's you know
1:08:28 it's close but
1:08:32 but if if you think
1:08:35 about what it just did and what we would
1:08:39 have done historically would have in
1:08:41 would would have involved multiple
1:08:43 people multiple hours multiple days or
1:08:46 multiple weeks just to have the
1:08:48 conversations then you got to start
1:08:50 articulating the conversations and
1:08:52 brainstorming and then iterating and
1:08:54 meetings and d da d d and then at some
1:08:56 point you need to bring
1:08:58 in a HTML person and maybe a designer to
1:09:02 do the graphics and then maybe the
1:09:05 graphics person can do Graphics but they
1:09:07 can't do illustrations so now we got to
1:09:08 go get illustr illustrators and maybe we
1:09:11 go to fiver or the amount of
1:09:15 time
1:09:17 and sort of mental
1:09:20 compartmentalization of all of those
1:09:22 different things you you have time and
1:09:25 you have you you sort of are in
1:09:28 single cognitive modes I'm in writing
1:09:31 mode I'm in brainstorming mode I'm in
1:09:33 this mode and now we're going to have to
1:09:35 learn we we're not going to have to we
1:09:38 get
1:09:39 to learn how to use our brains as fast
1:09:44 as we could have ever
1:09:48 imagined to go from idea to
1:09:52 executed thing
1:09:54 in a matter of minutes or hours instead
1:09:57 of days weeks or
1:10:02 months how do we learn to do that I
1:10:05 don't the only way I know how to learn
1:10:06 how to do that is just start playing
1:10:08 start playing mind if I borrow that to
1:10:11 do my old MySpace listen people I'm I am
1:10:15 but here to to gift to you every stupid
1:10:19 [ __ ] idea that I seriously Joker I
1:10:24 mean I feel like I feel like doing a
1:10:27 ridiculous
1:10:29 exercise like using chat GPT to recreate
1:10:33 your your ultimate Myspace dream and put
1:10:37 it out there in the world I feel like
1:10:40 the the value that you'll get out of
1:10:42 just going through that experience is
1:10:45 going to absolutely serve you in some
1:10:47 other
1:10:48 way um can you show me how you switched
1:10:51 modes again yeah absolutely so
1:10:57 so I was
1:10:59 in so okay let me let me go
1:11:04 back so in my version of chat GPT this
1:11:08 is all changing and I have a feeling
1:11:09 these might change again on Monday
1:11:11 because they're their developer
1:11:12 conference and they're going to start
1:11:13 putting some [ __ ] in the
1:11:15 world in my chat GPT as it sits right
1:11:18 now because I have chat GPT plus and I
1:11:21 have all my Beta features turned on
1:11:24 gp4 has five modes default browse with
1:11:27 Bing Advanced Data analysis plugins and
1:11:29 Dolly 3 default mode is actually two
1:11:33 different modes it's just regular chat
1:11:35 GPT but it also has
1:11:37 Vision so just know that you can upload
1:11:40 images to this as well
1:11:42 so in fact so so I'll show that so so
1:11:47 what I did was I was in default mode and
1:11:50 then I had this conversation about geoc
1:11:53 cities right I told it it was an
1:11:55 internet archist and it told me here's
1:11:57 what geoc cities was and then it wrote
1:11:59 the code and so I literally copied all
1:12:02 of this and then I went to a new chat
1:12:04 and went to Dolly
1:12:07 3
1:12:10 right but now we're going to do
1:12:12 something fun so so that's how I
1:12:14 switched
1:12:14 modes they have a vers they have a they
1:12:17 have a a version of chat GPT coming out
1:12:20 called all
1:12:21 tools that collapses these into a single
1:12:24 single box you can just upload PDFs csvs
1:12:27 images anything it can generate images
1:12:30 it can see images it can so so these
1:12:35 distinct modes are going to go away very
1:12:36 very quickly but it's good to know them
1:12:38 and it's actually good to practice
1:12:40 switching them but here we're going to
1:12:41 do something fun now I'm going to go
1:12:45 to here and I'm going to go
1:12:49 um fun Geo cities pages
1:12:56 and I'm going to go to
1:13:03 images all right let's see here's
1:13:09 one that's pretty
1:13:12 bad um let's
1:13:19 see oh my God these are so [ __ ]
1:13:22 awful
1:13:29 XKCD under construction the the under
1:13:33 construction
1:13:38 page oh my
1:13:42 God all right that's good so let's view
1:13:45 that image okay so I'm going to save
1:13:48 this image oh wait no that was just an
1:13:52 ad that's not actually geoc City's page
1:13:56 hang
1:14:02 [Music]
1:14:06 on all right that one's
1:14:11 good there we go okay I'm save
1:14:15 this save
1:14:22 imagees to desk top okay now I'm going
1:14:26 to go back
1:14:29 to chat
1:14:33 JPay I'm going to go to default mode I'm
1:14:35 going to upload that
1:14:41 image where is it downloads no
1:14:48 desktop all right I'm going to
1:14:50 say please describe this in as much
1:14:53 detail as
1:14:57 possible so I'm going to have it
1:14:59 describe the shitties the shitty geoc
1:15:02 City's
1:15:03 [Laughter]
1:15:05 page it mimics the looking wow look at
1:15:08 this it's a web page that mimic mimics
1:15:11 the look and style of the early internet
1:15:13 around late 1990s or early 2000s that's
1:15:16 amazing that it could that it knew that
1:15:19 here are the details starting from the
1:15:22 top of the image the browser inter face
1:15:24 looks like a classic browser website
1:15:28 design the banner at the top reads yaho
1:15:31 Yahoo Geo cities with under construction
1:15:34 sign reminition of a common place holder
1:15:36 for incomplete sections of websites from
1:15:38 the era oh my God it's so true so I'm
1:15:42 not going to grab the XK CD comic thing
1:15:44 because that's that's a little
1:15:47 specific but I'm going to
1:15:50 grab the description of the website
1:15:56 here and so now I'm going to go back
1:16:00 to this do chat where I gave it all of
1:16:05 the stuff we talked about
1:16:07 before it created those two things I'm
1:16:09 going to
1:16:13 say okay this is a good starting point
1:16:17 but I want you
1:16:19 to understand the description of a
1:16:22 website
1:16:24 from the era I'm looking to
1:16:27 reproduce below and then create a
1:16:30 variation of the websites that
1:16:33 incorporates everything above with this
1:16:36 description I'm giving you
1:16:41 now so there's my new description or my
1:16:44 my description of the that funny geoc
1:16:46 cities
1:16:49 thing and now it should give us
1:16:52 something that
1:16:54 is
1:16:59 lamazing from go
1:17:01 cities um you can still build on Angel
1:17:04 Fire oh do. lycos.com that's awesome
1:17:09 look at
1:17:14 this geoc City's grooming company it
1:17:17 kind of missed the lamazing here's
1:17:20 lamazing grooming company look at that
1:17:24 holy
1:17:26 [ __ ] wow look at the
1:17:29 [Laughter]
1:17:33 browser
1:17:36 wow there you
1:17:40 go start playing with these tools start
1:17:44 playing with these tools start playing
1:17:46 with these
1:17:51 tools we we all need need to figure out
1:17:54 where the boundaries
1:17:56 are
1:17:58 because the boundaries keep moving and
1:18:02 so if you know where the boundaries are
1:18:03 and you're like oh I can't really use
1:18:05 that for my job because you know the the
1:18:09 uh Big Dave in here earlier Big Dave
1:18:14 Hilton
1:18:17 um it sounds like there's some things
1:18:20 like he can't like he's not getting
1:18:22 accurate information so he can't use it
1:18:24 there the the synthesized voice doesn't
1:18:27 sound real so he can't use it there he's
1:18:29 on radio so he knows what it needs to
1:18:31 sound like but he knows where those
1:18:33 boundaries are so the minute a tool
1:18:36 comes
1:18:36 along that
1:18:39 solves that that blocker for him he'll
1:18:42 now use that and he'll use it like that
1:18:44 he'll be the first to use it cuz he'll
1:18:46 know what the value of it is
1:18:51 lamazing say Sherry d Sherry D's out
1:18:54 there killing it Yahoo messenger profile
1:18:57 looking for love looking for love on
1:18:59 Yahoo oh
1:19:02 yeah the Llama
1:19:09 Spa oh my God you guys are [ __ ]
1:19:14 awesome more llama
1:19:18 Spas the AI Salon I know the salon the
1:19:21 salon thing's really funny because it's
1:19:23 a salon and a
1:19:26 salon that this is a fancy llama

1:19:52 beautiful
1:19:54 look at the um circuitry for The
1:20:02 Outfits
1:20:08 wow
1:20:10 beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful
1:20:13 beautiful oh Cindy
1:20:17 [ __ ] I don't know what you're making
1:20:19 here but holy [ __ ] that's
1:20:22 cool
1:20:27 I'm loving
1:20:30 it you mean the AI
1:20:32 [Laughter]
1:20:36 Saloon how do we know if the developer
1:20:39 conference is a remote thing we can
1:20:41 check out during or
1:20:43 after I don't actually know the answer
1:20:46 to that let's go find that out oh no
1:20:49 let's go ask
1:20:52 pie
1:20:55 [Music]
1:20:58 open AI is having a developer conference
1:21:01 next Monday November 6th do you have any
1:21:04 details on
1:21:15 it you beta open AI is having a
1:21:18 developer conference next Monday nov 6th
1:21:21 and it's expected to be a big one here
1:21:23 are a few things to look out for product
1:21:26 enhancements that will make open eyes AI
1:21:28 models cheaper and more powerful the
1:21:31 unveiling of new features and
1:21:32 capabilities in chat GPT insights into
1:21:35 the future of AI development from open
1:21:37 eyes eyes experts and thought leaders
1:21:40 it's likely to be a pretty exciting
1:21:42 event and it's sure to have some uh big
1:21:44 implications for the future of AI are
1:21:47 you planning on tuning
1:21:49 in yes and that's what I want to know do
1:21:51 you have details on when it is and how I
1:21:54 can log in remotely and if I need to pay
1:21:56 for
1:22:00 [Music]
1:22:08 that the conference is taking place on
1:22:10 November 6th 2023 in San Francisco it's
1:22:14 a one-day event and you can attend
1:22:15 remotely the good news is that you don't
1:22:17 need to pay anything to attend it's free
1:22:20 to register however the details on how
1:22:23 to actually register and how to tune in
1:22:25 remotely haven't been released yet I
1:22:27 recommend keeping an eye on open ai's
1:22:29 website and social media channels for
1:22:31 more information in the coming weeks I'm
1:22:33 sure they'll release more details
1:22:35 soon today's Saturday and it's happening
1:22:39 Monday so I'm sure the details are out
1:22:41 there somewhere can you please look
1:22:47 again come on pie don't be a dumb Dum my
1:22:50 stupid CP about Geo says has gone gone
1:22:53 too far I'm sorry chat it hasn't
1:22:55 Saturday morning ads right it is cutting
1:22:57 it pretty close however I was able to
1:23:00 dig up some more details according to a
1:23:02 source open AI Dev day will be held in
1:23:04 San Francisco on November 6th 2023 and
1:23:07 it will be a onday event attendees can
1:23:10 register for in-person attendance or
1:23:13 they can live stream the keynote
1:23:14 remotely developer registration for
1:23:16 inperson attendance will open soon so
1:23:18 keep an eye on open ai's website or
1:23:20 social media channels whatever all right
1:23:23 she didn't get it there but I I assume
1:23:25 that the details are
1:23:27 somewhere um Saturday morning ads I I
1:23:31 know it seems like you you said a joke
1:23:34 and I sort of went way down the rabbit
1:23:36 hole I
1:23:38 think I think this kind that kind of
1:23:42 play is actually really
1:23:46 important cuz like can it do
1:23:49 that it
1:23:51 can like like it did it surprisingly
1:23:54 well um is that like Netscape 1.0 Dev
1:23:59 conference it's yeah actually it it
1:24:02 probably is the this is going to be an
1:24:04 open AI developer conference like no
1:24:07 other cuz they have Unleashed a dragon
1:24:11 or
1:24:12 10 so it's going to be it's going to be
1:24:17 something and I mean what's what's
1:24:19 fascinating about open AI right now is
1:24:23 they're still in the
1:24:24 lead but like lots of others are coming
1:24:28 Google is coming with Gemini Elon Musk
1:24:31 is coming with this thing that's
1:24:32 connected to Twitter Apple's going to do
1:24:35 what they're going to do they they I
1:24:37 assume we're not going to hear from them
1:24:39 until June their June developer
1:24:40 conference but we'll probably hear
1:24:42 something
1:24:43 then um open AI is going to have some
1:24:47 you know they've got Claude right Claude
1:24:49 just got $2 billion from Google and 4
1:24:52 billion from
1:24:54 Amazon you've got inflection the company
1:24:56 behind Pi they raised $1.3 billion so
1:25:00 like open ai's got to do some [ __ ]
1:25:04 to keep it going to to
1:25:08 maintain their
1:25:13 position
1:25:15 yeah oh no love it and I agree yeah
1:25:17 playing with these tools is important
1:25:19 yeah exactly it's it it really is just
1:25:21 like it's the only way to understand
1:25:23 what can they actually do like how do
1:25:25 you actually use
1:25:28 it
1:25:30 like it wrote the code and and the image
1:25:33 generation tool kind of got that it was
1:25:35 an early
1:25:37 website but then we had it actually
1:25:39 describe what it saw in an early website
1:25:42 and it got it it nailed it right now you
1:25:44 could refine that further but still so
1:25:47 cool grock yeah grock is the
1:25:51 new Elon
1:25:54 Musk um large language model called
1:25:57 grock all right people listen listen
1:26:01 it's Saturday night it's late it's late
1:26:04 people my ass is numb my vocal cords are
1:26:08 shredded we we took a trip down memory
1:26:11 lane and created the the latest geoc
1:26:15 cities page as well as not for nothing
1:26:19 but
1:26:20 lamazing for the Llama group grooming
1:26:23 service The lamazing Grooming Co come on

1:26:59 it makes these things so so much fun to
1:27:01 do um if you don't know about the AI
1:27:05 Salon go there the salon. that's
1:27:08 the
1:27:09 [Music]
