5. 1:09welcome to the AI learning lab I got I put a new I have a new thing here if you've been here before I replaced Poe I said I'd start
6. 1:18replacing these if they got replaced with something better or more interesting so that's there what else do we have we got pi we got Claude
7. 1:32there's a lot going on we got what you call it code interpreter which is still insanity good morning Singapore hey Todd how's it going
8. 1:47welcome everybody go ahead and hit the uh tap the screen if you would to get the likes going see if we can get some more people in here um
9. 1:56if you haven't been here before my name is Kyle Shannon this is the AI learning lab I am an entrepreneur and a
10. 2:04just a dude trying to figure this [ __ ] out and I'm the founder and CEO of a company called storybine
11. 2:13which is an automated video storytelling platform and I was a I was there for the early days of the World Wide Web I co-founded a company
12. 2:23called agency.com which was one of the first digital agencies and um the uh the early days of the world
13. 2:31wide web in the early days of this AI stuff have a lot of similarities a lot of interesting stuff going on so um yeah
14. 2:38so welcome holy crap we just went from 19 people to 252. uh if you're new here uh this is the AI learning lab uh I'll talk about these uh
15. 2:48URLs here hang on if you're new to um generative AI if you've not played with chat GPT go there go to
16. 2:57chat.openai.com that's the official chat GPT website for those of you that have been here before you'll notice that I
17. 3:04replace poe.com with claude.ai why did I do that because Cloud 2.0 came out today and it's got a sweet little elegant interface and it
18. 3:13seems to not suck so there's another thing to play with so that one up there is the official chat GPT website
19. 3:22um if you pay the 20 bucks a month for chat gbt plus you get access to gpt4 and you also get access to this new
20. 3:29remarkably powerful thing called code interpreter I don't work for them I'm not getting paid for them I don't care if you go there or not um
21. 3:37but I'll talk about code interpreter because it's insane uh bing.com that's Microsoft search engine click on the
22. 3:43chat button there that's also chat gpt4 but it's free and it's connected to the internet it's not as good as that one
23. 3:49but it's still really good and you can make images there for free and then Claude is uh one of anthropics models
24. 3:57and they just released their first website so I figured I'd give them a shout out because I'm a fan of what
25. 4:02they're up to and then prompts.chat if you haven't played with any of these large language models it's sort of like
26. 4:09Google in that there's like a box that you type in but it's completely unlike Google in that it's completely different
27. 4:15so if you want to learn how to do that go to prompts.chat and that'll teach you about that if you've got any questions

29. 4:35all right can you get the chat GPT extensions if you don't pay the subscription not right now right now you need to pay the subscription but
30. 4:44bing.com Microsoft has announced that bing.com will support plugins so I don't know when that's going to be
31. 4:52I don't know when they are ready for prime time they still seem a little a little janky as we like to say here in the AI learning lab
32. 5:00um so so they'll eventually be available at bing.com as well for free hey dude thanks for help us figure this all out of course yep yep yep
33. 5:12yep uh nice shirt this evening Mr Shannon I know it's it's right on the border of do I have to change it but I think if I
34. 5:20just keep a little dark area where the text is we're gonna be okay but thank you I appreciate that quantum computer with 70 cubits that can
35. 5:32that can calculate in six seconds uh what it'll take today's super computers 47 years to calculate so I gave Google a
36. 5:41shout out today but Bard sucks compared to Claude and Chachi PT and Bing um it's just not good um it'll get better I think I think
37. 5:53Google's gonna show up um one thing I saw today is Google has a cool thing called style drop which is
38. 6:00remarkable technology and somebody spun up a uh a Google collab notebook or whatever like a GitHub uh so you can run that
39. 6:10that looks pretty amazing but I haven't installed it yet um yeah you know I mean the the ironic thing about
40. 6:21Bart sucking is that Google invented the Transformer which is what all of these tools are based on and then they just sat on it
41. 6:29and so you know I don't think they or anyone else were expecting chat GP to yeah chat gbt to be as popular as it was but
42. 6:38it is and it was and it happened and so now they're on their heels and so they got to catch up that's on them
43. 6:46they'll get there I hear it's good at code but I don't do that day to day I do words day to day qualifications well
44. 6:55I don't know doesn't matter if I have qualifications what if I have none what if you know it could be the worst
45. 7:03if I had a degree in acting that that would be a disqualified like if I if I got a degree in acting and not even
46. 7:12like I didn't even do film or TV like I moved to New York City and and I spent like five years of my life
47. 7:20starting and running a theater company that would be completely disqualifying for anything called AI learning lab definitely that
48. 7:28and then what would be worse is if I I started a theater company and I I failed financially at that and then I thought I
49. 7:35know I'll write myself an acting career and I spent like two years writing seven feature-length screenplays that would be
50. 7:41absolutely disqualifying for anyone talking about AI so yeah I got nothing for you in terms of qualifications you know I mean sure I
51. 7:52mean started one of the first digital agencies in the mid 90s and you know the parallels between what's going on
52. 7:59with generative Ai and what was going on in their early days of the web I mean it's remarkable and this is profound and
53. 8:05it's going to change everything and I dedicate two to three hours of my life every [ __ ] night to come here and
54. 8:11talk but really no qualifications am I smarty bitter you betcha I am a
55. 8:26post chat GPT inflection point Explorer and adventurer of AI I know just this much more than anyone else I'm
56. 8:36not a machine learning scientist I'm not a researcher I've got 80d I can't code but I'm 11 years into my startup and
57. 8:45completely rethinking that because of AI and I'm doing the best I can to educate people and Inspire them to give this
58. 8:53stuff A shot because I think it's going to change the [ __ ] world hey karuna what's happening no it's not the border wait no not on
59. 9:05the border wait what I don't know what you're talking about Emilio's wife can we dive into Claude AI it's a little wait
60. 9:13that's a new one I've heard of nice to see you again hey Austin yeah we can dive into it I mean I and then I also pulled it up here um
61. 9:24so it's it's very similar to uh to the chat gpts of the world so you know we can do um uh make a table comparing
62. 9:37a real AI expert and a wannabe actor act tour
63. 9:51and sure enough it'll make you a table a real AI experts a researcher or engineer working on developing AI
64. 10:01systems I want to be actors and aspiring actor trying to break into acting it's not very creative it's it's kind of a
65. 10:10shitty table it was supposed to be funnier but whatever um so it can do that the other thing you can do is you can hand it um
66. 10:24you can upload files so let's go grab a file here I wonder if I can do zip files nope you can't do zip files okay so it

74. 12:09if you demand qualifications for something called the AI learning lab I would leave now I would get out I would go I would run away
75. 12:18because there is nothing in here that is remotely interesting to anyone interested in AI I have no qualifications um what did it do Claude
76. 12:33oh Claude went boom boom uh yes in case it wasn't patently clear we are
77. 12:48very early in the AI parade so maybe I should um I shouldn't have not have replaced Poe with Claude because Claude
78. 12:57apparently is a little too busy tonight to handle all the traffic that's pretty funny there's also pie which is similar so this is
79. 13:09Pi dot a i um and it's from this company called inflection and inflection is um it's one of the founders of deepmind
80. 13:23and it's a an open AI competitor and they're looking to do um personal agents and so their personal agents called pie
81. 13:36which is good branding Pi dot AI um and let's see um make me a table comparing a wet dog and a fluffy cat
82. 13:56see if it can do tables here you go wet dog versus fluffy cat smell wet dog ugh fluffy cat Pleasant energy wet dog playful and excited
83. 14:10fluffy cat lethargic and relaxed so this has got Pi's got much more personality it didn't make a table I wonder if it can code can you make
84. 14:21this a python application that asks for a pair of animals question mark dude
85. 14:37absolutely I can write you a Python program are you ready to get started why yes Pie has has a lot of Personality there's
86. 14:47a lot of Personality here we're going to import the necessary libraries we're going to ask the user to
87. 14:54input two animals we're going to create a list of comparison categories we're going to iterate we're going to calculate
88. 15:01does that make sense yes first we'll need to import the libraries in this case we'll input the libraries
89. 15:13and read it ready to move on yes I don't like how um let me say are you going to write
90. 15:30the code or do I have to good catch I'll write the code just sit back and relax
91. 15:45so this is funny this is describing writing code you know what this is doing this is absolutely convincing me that chat GPT
92. 15:55is still the best that ain't writing code it's writing a it's writing a short story every time I ask it a question all right we're back
93. 16:07to chat GPT you can make money all right we're not diving into Claude we're not diving into uh into pie we're coming back to them when they
94. 16:21get their [ __ ] together unbelievable all right I'm hoping to make the next in-person Meetup awesome yeah join us we're at

96. 16:40Denver Colorado come on down can AI prepare lawsuits in my state DC on a certain subject matter it can the
97. 16:49thing you need to be careful of with chat EPT doing anything resembling work you want to be uh you want to be solid
98. 16:59is it will hallucinate it'll make up case law and and reference it in in in in legal um things or in really it'll lie about anything
99. 17:10um so so if you're doing something like that it can be really good at that um you could even do things with code
100. 17:16interpreter you could probably even upload a big chunk of the law that is relevant to your case and it could learn
101. 17:22that and then you could you know write a case that that you know captures all the angles but definitely check the work and
102. 17:29make sure that it's it's solid in terms of research I hate that they disabled chat EBT with Bing beta yeah I know me too I I assume you mean
103. 17:40wait Oh you mean the browse with Bing beta within chat GPT I hate that they disabled that too buffering on your side or mine Kyle I
104. 17:49don't know am I buffering for everyone I'm jealous can they create lawsuits for court to match preferences and subject matter I

110. 19:10say okay okay for those of you that are new here you could be a Canadian Prime Minister is is the perfect kind of troll for the
111. 19:21AI learning lab seems like it could be a compliment seems like it could be an insult might be both that's solid it's clever it's creative
112. 19:32I like it a lot I thank you sort I think it's good this is good acting thespians rude all right where do you read the latest
113. 19:45news on a I I get most of mine from the Twitter um I get some stuff from LinkedIn there's a couple of people I follow like I follow
114. 19:58Paul rates or with the marketing AI Institute I follow Ethan Malik from Wharton but he's also he does a lot of stuff on Twitter um
115. 20:09sometimes YouTube like YouTube I'll go to YouTube to kind of do deep Dives I've got a couple of YouTubers that I like
116. 20:16that that are really technical that um are good for humbling myself if I'm feeling a little too smart I'll go watch
117. 20:24David Shapiro for 15 minutes and just go like I am a dumb dumb and I'm not qualified and then I suck my thumb and I go to bed
118. 20:34and that's why I get a good night's sleep every night um I think that's it I also you know with the I've got the AI Salon this thing

122. 21:12qualifications I have none I've got I've got less than none I've got Quantum Computing levels of no qualifications if you know what I mean
123. 21:27you are an AI sent to derail the world I right see huh you wonder what Quantum Computing looks like this is it this is it

125. 21:45um why do they want my info signing up for chat GPT because everybody wants your data they're out to get you they're out to get you
126. 21:55do you use Google do you use Facebook if you don't then I wouldn't give up your data but if you do you already have I
127. 22:04don't know why they want it so they can call you and ask your opinion on the new AI models probably because they want to make money
128. 22:14at some point is my guess I don't know here's my deal this this is where my head is with this stuff we get to use for free the most powerful
129. 22:26technology in the history of humanity and we have to give them our phone number okay I'm in and if you don't want
130. 22:32to just go to Bing use bing.com that's chat that's gpt4 and they'll cook you the [ __ ] out of you but but you don't have to give them your
131. 22:39phone number because they probably already have it for your Microsoft Word subscription you had when you were 17.
132. 22:46it does I don't know like your data's already gone I like that ship has sailed if you're a spy don't sign up
133. 22:56um and Claude doesn't seem to work Club kind of failed on us pretty bad I wonder if it's what if it's back up let's see if Cloud's back up

137. 23:55do not pay I think it's do not pay.ai and it's um no it just crashed again failed to fetch Claude is sick
138. 24:09um there's one called do not pay it's not really a law preparation website if you go to futurepedia.io that's a list of like
139. 24:18it's probably up to four thousand now like four thousand AI sites tools there's probably something about law
140. 24:25there that you could you could go find something somebody left I'm glad I made you laugh what's the best way to search PDFs and
141. 24:33Ai and ask complex questions about the content ah there's new stuff and it's really exciting it's really good um
142. 24:43so you can do it you can do it two ways well you can you can do it a bunch of ways I'll show you two ways you can do a chat GPT okay
143. 24:52here we are at chat GPT and if you pay for GPT plus you get access to code interpreter and plugins both of these allow you to search PDFs
144. 25:09um we'll do we'll do plugins first so the way plugins work is you go to plugins and then you have this list of
145. 25:17here's all the the plugins I have installed and then in any given chat session I can enable up to three of them so I'm going to turn off
146. 25:28the two I have on and I'm going to turn on this one called Web pilot foreign what I can do now let's see I gotta go
147. 25:40find a pdf online somewhere let's go find a PDF uh let's see Denver crime stats file type
148. 25:56PDF well that's a teeny little PDF that was really Denver is it really does
149. 26:13how we're doing this could this be some real data please all right that looks like real data it's I mean it's not a ton oh my screen's not
150. 26:21focused good Lord what are the qualifications for this channel there we go okay so we're gonna grab that URL so if you've got a PDF up on

162. 29:38you provided is a report showing the crime statistics for the city of Denver from August 2019 compared to the same period in 2018
163. 29:49if you have specific questions about the content of the report feel free to ask um can you tell me any Trends question mark
164. 30:02so it's firing off the plug-in again reading that document again it's got a lot of data but it doesn't provide clear things
165. 30:14incidents increased from 3300 to 3400 simple assault went up larceny went up motor vehicle theft went
166. 30:30slightly down so it sort of works so that's a plug-in so there's plugins that can look at PDFs now let's go look at
167. 30:41code interpreter so code interpreter is flipping mind-blowing so we're going to go to kaggle oh wait I think I'll go I'll go there
168. 30:56anyway so kaggle is a place where you can go get data like data sets here we come to save the day
169. 31:14so I'm good data sets and then maybe I'll search for crime Denver we'll get a big a big one Denver crime data
170. 31:25and so I'm going to download it so it's a 21 megabyte zip archive it's archive number five and so then what we're gonna do
171. 31:36the way code interpreter works is you now have a little plus icon here so I'm going to click on this plus icon
172. 31:45there's my archive number five so I'm just uploading a zip file I'm going to say let's in this question mark oh it's still uploading
173. 32:01it's 21 megabytes it's a little slow what what what's actually happening here is is this thing when you start interacting
174. 32:09with it it's actually firing up a virtual computer and when you see what it does it's just insane all right so it looks like you uploaded
175. 32:24a zip file let's let's extract it to see what it contains and so it it looks like it's firing off a plug-in but if you open this
176. 32:32what it's actually doing is right on writing python code importing libraries to unzip files writing the python code to unzip it
177. 32:40and then getting it and it says the zip file you provided has the following files would you like me to inspect the
178. 32:47contents of any specific file please look at all of them question mark someone needs to clean their computer
179. 33:00screen because I reach up and touch it too much I do too much of this it's bad it's bad bad bad seems like there's an
180. 33:08encoding issue let's try and read the file with another encoding such as ISO 8859-1 also known as Latin da [Music]
181. 33:21they've been successfully read there's all the rows are all the columns so it's given a sample it's showing us
182. 33:33sample data so it makes it makes a little table oh what did I do oh dang it I was zipping around too much okay let's
183. 33:43see if we still got it in memory here um can you tell me any interesting Trends in the data
184. 34:03I'm getting that weird thing again I wonder if that's some some weird ass open AI thing I don't it can't be that's got to be some sort of
185. 34:12malware [ __ ] uh can you tell can you tell me anything interesting about this data
186. 34:30no something's weird something's weird man all right I think I'm not gonna show [ __ ] tonight anyway what what code interpreter will do is
187. 34:43um it it writes the python code but it will analyze it'll analyze the data and it'll even create charts and graphs it's
188. 34:53absolutely amazing so so code interpreter right now is probably by far the best thing to play with you do have
189. 34:59to have a open AI subscription um I tried Charlie but it's not so great Shirley I don't know what Shirley is

191. 35:20and my hair I got some [ __ ] Elvis action going on up there tonight all right um do you think a certification is valid
192. 35:28at this point not for generative ai go learn it yourself it's it's just it's easy enough to go learn right now
193. 35:35um and and there's there's not really any experts on this if you want to get a certificate on things like machine
194. 35:41learning and work more on the data science side of this then sure absolutely Pi is great okay cool I
195. 35:48haven't played with pie that much I just played with it a little bit it seemed a little overly friendly to me
196. 35:53but I would imagine that there's some sort of settings they're all overloaded right now oh that's interesting
197. 36:00um too slow I love this yep I'm addicted um but kudos for Wrangler net uh have you tried Bard I have would you like my rating I'll be like
198. 36:13the pizza guy okay Pizza review time okay um large language model Review Time bard 1.2 Bart seem stronger in programming yeah
199. 36:28it's I think it I I don't know if it's stronger than chat gbt4 in terms of programming but I think it is it is
200. 36:35competent enough in programming that people can use it because I know I know people that I've talked to have said
201. 36:41they use it he thinks Bart is the worst yeah like I I just from from a word perspective from a a writing perspective it's just
202. 36:50it's just not anywhere in the same ballpark it's not even close to gbt 3.5 um so not here in Jacksonville Florida
203. 36:59it's okay lawyers do too I use Bard and Pie cool um listen here's the deal about bart bard is a thousand times better than Google
204. 37:11search so don't get me wrong it's just in comparison to chat GPT it's just not in the same ballpark and I think I'm going to go back to Poe
205. 37:21right here because that Claude Claude is is not happy tonight and I don't want to people I don't want to send people there if it's buffering
206. 37:30again it's probably because I switch back and forth between the cameras I think it buffers then uh I sent that message 20 minutes ago I
207. 37:40know so not only am I unqualified but I don't keep up with the questions it's like it's like why would anyone come

215. 39:12creating a it's our belief that the most important valuable AI platform long term is open source Freedom GPT Community is working toward
216. 39:21creating a free and open llm and accompanying apps Freedom GPT movement today as a user tester code contributor cool
217. 39:29all right it's one of the large it's one of the open source large language models um and I I suppose you can download it
218. 39:36for mac and download it for Windows um I haven't tried to install it um I can't I I stopped I gave up on
219. 39:42trying to keep up with the open source llms right now until they until something kind of stabilizes that's
220. 39:48that's good they're just changing too fast um I haven't tried chat GPT too much okay Roger so go there right now and do it go to
221. 40:00chat.openai.com that's the official chatgpt website and go to prompts.chat that'll teach you how to prompt it may inspire you to
222. 40:08keep it's worth it to keep messing with chat GPT until you get it to do something that kind of blows your mind

237. 42:43um I went there and I tried to show people that you can upload files to it and interact with them and it crashed twice

345. 1:02:38um where instead of human reinforcement learning to train the models they're they're using a set of rules that all of
346. 1:02:44the answers are compared against uh to see if it passes those those rules and the rules are things like you know Do no
347. 1:02:52harm you know increase Prosperity you know don't don't be evil but they actually mean it because they're they're writing it into a
348. 1:03:01constitution that is programmatically checking answers against that what kind of Hardware in the near near
349. 1:03:11future well we need uh it depends so the open source Community is working aggressively to get very small models
350. 1:03:24to be very powerful and and probably over the next year we will have something that is in the neighborhood of
351. 1:03:31gpt4 that you can just install on your phone or your any any sort of laptop or computer with no internet connection needed no
352. 1:03:40Cloud processing needed it'll just run locally um if you want to get into training and and running these larger models locally
353. 1:03:49then you need to start getting into things like how much can you afford right George hotz uh who's the the kind
354. 1:03:57of Genius programmer dude behind comma AI the self-driving car company that's a competitor to Tesla he's wild he started a company called
355. 1:04:09tiny Corp and he's creating a computer called Tiny Box and it's going to be fifteen thousand dollars and have six
356. 1:04:16gpus in it so you could have that one that would be nice um if you really want to do some heavy lifting but if you just want to use
357. 1:04:22these tools um you know all of these things are cloud-based so you just go use them on the cloud and you're using Microsoft
358. 1:04:29servers at that point and their gpus um if you want to run things locally on the Mac side you'll need at least an M1
359. 1:04:37but probably an the biggest M2 you can afford is better and same thing on PC you know the the best GPU and CPU and throughput you can afford

406. 1:14:18zap I've got an input from a Google form I then take the input from that form I send that to open AI for gpt3
407. 1:14:28have it generate some content I then take what it gives me back and put that in a Gmail and send it and so the way these things work is you
408. 1:14:39know if I were to create a new one it gives you like a list of tools there's like so I could say Google Sheets
409. 1:14:48and so I could say I'm going to take the output of gpt3 I'm going to send it in an email but I'm also going to put it in
410. 1:14:55a row in a Google sheet so so you can um you just sort of add these Lego blocks and then when you add one in it's
411. 1:15:05basically like Okay Google form is the type of block it is um it'll give you what what's possible to
412. 1:15:14to use so in this case when someone puts a new form response so when someone fills in the Google form from this account in this form
413. 1:15:27um then I'll get some data and and like one of those pieces of data is the test data that I put in there and then I can
414. 1:15:36take anything from that block and I can use it in this block and so basically anything you do in the blocks above can
415. 1:15:42be used in the blocks below so now I'll open up the open AI thing and it's like I'm going to send a prompt you know from this account
416. 1:15:52and then here's the prompt I want you to use the following variables you know color what is your favorite color that's
417. 1:15:59the this was the field that I used in that example form so that's the thing I'm pulling from that block above

422. 1:16:52poem itself and then I hit that and it will send it will send that and so the way it works is this first block is called a trigger so
423. 1:17:03this could be you upload a new file to Google Drive this could be you add a row to a Google sheet this could be you you
424. 1:17:12put in a Google form you add a record to an air table there's there's lots of different ways you can do inputs but
