22. 5:40man I worked on a uh a framework today so an Murphy and I have got this AI Readiness project and we're putting
23. 5:48together this training along with Vicky Baptist which is coming soon and uh but we needed a framework we needed a
24. 5:58framework to talk about independ depend of the training so I worked on that today I've got a I've got a talk I'm doing on
25. 6:05Wednesday and so I figured I might pre preview that for you guys tonight how the heck did you scratch the cornes what's happening baby uh I
26. 6:15scratched the cornea I probably tore it like 30 years ago I retesh you probably actually remember remember Max and Cleo our two
27. 6:26Labs uh I was going in for a good dog kiss on the face of Cleo and one of her whiskers just poked me right in the
28. 6:35eye um and it scratch the cornea and then whenever I if I if I get dehydrated at night if I don't drink enough water
29. 6:44it like you know my eyelid sticks to my corny or whatever and it just like aggravates it so yeah so I'm in the middle of
30. 6:55that retesh Patel is one of my best mates in all of the in all of the earth he's an amazing amazing man he was
31. 7:05my at um at agency.com back in the olden timey days and now he's a uh Big Shot innovator in the uh oh yeah I remember yeah yeah they
32. 7:18were crazy those two dogs weren't they Max and Cleo Rees just got a new gig he's an innovator in the healthc care space does
33. 7:27amazing amazing work so good to see you buddy um so I've been I I I am I am increasingly increasingly convinced that none of us can really
34. 7:44prepare for what's coming um that it's coming fast and that there's a fallacy right now about being AI literate people are talking about
35. 7:54being AI literate I don't think you can be I think things are changing too fast but that's not to say that you can't be
36. 8:01ready for AI um prepared for what's coming um and I'm calling that AI Readiness rather than AI literacy and so
37. 8:09that's the thing I've been thinking a lot about over the past two months um and the more I think about it the more
38. 8:15right it feels and generally with me that's how it goes I'll think about something I I have brain farts all the
39. 8:21time and most of the times you know like good gas they just they just move on they just pass along and never think about them again but
40. 8:30sometimes they [Music] stick and uh AI Readiness is one of those that's sticking I was thinking about that too there's so many AI tools
41. 8:41to keep up with for all sorts of things yeah and and so so I put together a framework so I thought what I might do
42. 8:48tonight is actually I'll run through the the presentation that I'm going to give at this event on uh on Wednesday um
43. 8:58and and then you can tell me if it sucks or not because I trust you all more than I trust most other people with retesh is
44. 9:11the exception I don't trust him at all you know not at all he'll tell me it's great he'll be like yeah yeah dude
45. 9:17that's awesome go do that and then you know it's just you got to be careful with him super nice guy incredible remarkable dude but you know
46. 9:29everyone should be AI curious yeah exactly well I think I think uh curiosity retesh is actually the foundation of AI Readiness
47. 9:38starts with curiosity and play um and and it's so funny it's where I go with where where I started with AI was
48. 9:52where we always start with computers which is I can take my current work and make that more efficient and and what you discover the
49. 10:01more you dig around with AI is that it can not only make you more efficient but it it can actually amplify your ideas
50. 10:07and it can give you skills and superpowers where you never thought you'd have them and the only way that
51. 10:13you can actually discover all of the things that it can make possible for you is to play without expectation right you know don't go into
52. 10:23it thinking I'm not a coder or I can't write music or I'm I'm not I don't have a creative bone in my body I can't make pictures you actually
53. 10:34can and with AI it it will reveal things to you about who you are and what you want to accomplish that you never
54. 10:45thought possible and the only way to get there is through play and curiosity and things like that figure out what sucks
55. 10:50don't do that fores it is totally back to the early days of agency.com it really is it it's it's it's just no
56. 10:59different it's everyone's trying to figure it out I mean the big difference between now and the early days of the
57. 11:04web is that the the web was essentially one thing right it was the hypertext transfer protocol in the web browser
58. 11:12right it was hyperlinks it turned the internet from command line into clickable and and as silly as that
59. 11:21sounds that's the primary Innovation it's just that it it connects data from different computers at the click of a a
60. 11:30mouse or at the tap of a phone um and this AI stuff is is just you know a million times more sophisticated Vibe
61. 11:40Cinema what's happening good to see you um so I think that's what we'll do tonight we we'll go through the uh the AI Readiness uh [Music]

72. 14:07we also how soon will AI be able to assist humans IQ uh I think AI is already assisting my IQ I I mean ai ai at this point is significantly
73. 14:21beyond my intellectual capacity so so it is it is augmenting me daily so I think that ship has already sailed
74. 14:30um and I I don't quite know what you mean should we judge it or not Vibe Cinema I I officially started

81. 15:42and and you know that like I think it's even affecting retesh the uh the footballers over there in that that
82. 15:48England you know the you know the country over there you I think you visited there once sharp shirt Kyle thank you thank

92. 17:41Australia I swear to God man the first time I went to our London office of agency.com and they brought out
93. 17:47sandwiches or no it was for British Airways it was when when we were pitching British Airways rsh I remember
94. 17:54them like we had we had flown you know all night from New York to London we get to London we have this big meeting where they're
95. 18:03tearing us a new [ __ ] and they bring out these sandwiches and these little triangles and I go to eat one and it's
96. 18:10just butter and a cucumber and I almost threw it up right there on the spot I'm like where's the sandwich it was bad it was bad it was my
97. 18:21first lesson in international cuisine it was not a good one oh you lived in Australia for for oh you're from England I thought you didn't
98. 18:34have an Australian accent you lived there for 17 years okay that that confused me so now that makes sense Water Crest sandwiches ex exactly
99. 18:44exactly it's just like it's like in England it's like they it every piece of food especially fancy tea time Foods
100. 18:55it's like they ran out of ingredients and it's like well we got butter and some weeds yeah just put them on the we just have this white
101. 19:05bread just like cut them cut them in in right angles people will think they're fancy jam on toast baked beans on toast I can get

104. 19:41right so here's what we're gonna do so if you're in the um Colorado the Denver area um Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 um
105. 19:52I'm speaking for this Colorado companies to watch um panel on a I in the future of business and so this is my this is my
106. 20:02presentation um okay so let me get to the right screen here all right so I I'm only showing this slide because I just one of the nice things
107. 20:14about mid journey is you can take shitty pictures of yourself and make yourself look way hipper than you are so if you
108. 20:21haven't played around with character reference is character reference is in mid Journey you should do it because
109. 20:27it's a lot of fun now in order to get a picture that's hip like this one I had to suffer through probably 50 pictures
110. 20:35of me just looking like a gargantuan just embarrassingly hideous person based of course on my photo so it took me a while to get one
111. 20:49where I looked hip but I'm pretty happy with that um okay so so let's dig in here um last Thursday a podcast came out um called stratechery
112. 21:03which I haven't heard of before uh but I'm going to start listening to it and they did an interview with Sam Alman and
113. 21:09in the Strater podcast Sam Alman said this the people who are going to thrive in this new era are the ones who treat
114. 21:19treat learning AI not as a one-time skill but as a lifelong interaction this isn't about mastering a tool it's about develop in a
115. 21:29relationship with a new kind of intelligence that quote to me is it like it it really encapsulates the thing
116. 21:38that's kind of been burning in my brain that we keep talking about these tools we kep keep talking about the technology
117. 21:44we keep talking about the features we keep talking about the new models the tools at this point are way
118. 21:53more than single tools they're they're now ecosystems and and if you want to accomplish anything with you're you're generally mixing and
119. 22:01matching lots of tools this is again retach back to the early days of the web right where we're duct taping you know
120. 22:07pieces of Technology together that turn it into something coherent because you know no infrastructure has been built
121. 22:13yet we're very much in the same place with AI but these tools are already significantly beyond anything we've ever had before and
122. 22:23so flipping the switch in your brain from I configure this thing this thing out is really def redefining this thing
123. 22:36um all right fantastic let's see Kyle where did you get that slide animation from which slide animation that's just keynote the one
124. 22:49where I wiped it and Faded [ __ ] in that's just from keynote like the oh all these background images I did in uh midj
125. 22:59so one of one of my New Joys in life is mid Journey mood boards if you haven't played with them I can go show you how I
126. 23:06made all these images um Mid Journey mood boards are incredible because you can do things like take Sam Alman like I
127. 23:14just took a picture from him from from an article and pasted it in as a character reference and just did I don't
128. 23:21know 20 or 30 images that used him as a character reference and this was one of the images that came out which I just love
129. 23:29um but but yeah all of these all of these images are from the AI Readiness mood board that that we created for for the new
130. 23:38podcast hi peeps hello hello good to see you okay so AI Readiness let's define it AI Readiness is when you're curious
131. 23:50enough to explore bold enough to experiment and wise enough to elevate with a with generative AI so you can Thrive as the world
132. 24:02transforms bold curious enough to explore bold enough to experiment and wise enough to elevate or lead with
133. 24:11generative AI so you can Thrive as the world transforms make no mistake the world as we know it today in in likely all
134. 24:21aspects but but particularly in business and work is not going to be the same five years from now as it was five years
135. 24:30previous it's just going to be a very different thing and and so it is it is those who kind of step onto the field in this in this
136. 24:39phase it's not about technical Mastery it's about your ability to play adapt and lead lead others critical absolutely [ __ ]
137. 24:52critical that that you have a sense of play You're adaptable and you're in community and ideally you're leading in community retesh my
138. 25:04buddy from agency.com one of the best people I know in on the planet for networking and building community and
139. 25:12maintaining Community he's incredible at it um I don't know if you know this I really look up to you for that it's it's
140. 25:20it's a thing that I am I am woefully inadequate at but you know okay so what's the journey look like the journey to AI
141. 25:31Readiness is actually quite simple it's not easy but it's simple so the journey to AI Readiness is is three things in my opinion the first
142. 25:42one is explore that you have to have this sense of adventure you have to have the sense of curiosity play first Tinker boldly
143. 25:51break things with curiosity and especially as you're exploring explore beyond your boundaries explore those areas where you think you
144. 26:02don't have any talents or skills if you've never written an application before go to lovable. deev and start
145. 26:09describing an application you want built and it will build it for you it will do the code it will do the
146. 26:17interface and within 15 minutes to an hour you will have built something in code that you didn't think was possible if you're a
147. 26:29coder and you're like I can't make images oh those images are so cool I couldn't do that go teach yourself mid
148. 26:35Journey go outside of your bounds so that's that's step one step two is experiment mindfully create with purpose
149. 26:44skill and care this is basically find problems that need to be solved take what you learn during the explore phase
150. 26:52and apply that to solving some problem start experimenting come up with a hypothesis huh I think I could come up
151. 26:59with a whole marketing strategy in about an hour if I did it right and then go prove that you can do it or
152. 27:07not and then the the third um step on the journey to AI Readiness is to elevate generously lead Learn out Loud help others rise so this is
153. 27:20about not just making it about you but sharing with others and get in communities where that's part of the culture
154. 27:28because you'll share something that you learned and it will be a revelation for someone they'll share what they learned
155. 27:35they'll think it's obvious to them and not valuable because it seems obvious and you'll look at that and go oh my God
156. 27:41I learned something new today that's also how we're going to hire people moving forward we're not going to hire people for their
157. 27:51skills I'm going to assume because you've got AI that you can code and that you can make images and that you can
158. 27:59write songs and that you can write business plans and marketing plans so I'm not going to hire you for the
159. 28:08skills why am I going to hire you well I'm going to hire you because we worked together 30 years ago or I'm going to
160. 28:14hire you because you're in that AI Salon thing that I started and you actually show up and and deliver and you have
161. 28:23integrity I'm going to hire you because of who you are not what you know the what you know part the skills
162. 28:31part AI is going to do a lot of that I'm GNA hire you because you have taste and you have good judgment How
163. 28:41will I know that only by working with you only by experiencing you community is the place to be and then this little journey to AI Readiness
164. 28:52this is not a linear thing it's not step one two three I'm cycling through these through these three steps like every
165. 29:01day like ah I don't think I I don't know how to do this oh let me just go try something I'll go explore huh that seems
166. 29:08like it worked let me go experiment it's not quite ready for prime time but that's kind of interesting hey guys look
167. 29:14what I just learned right it's it's it's a daily you know you could take this this this sort of threep three-step thing and you could
168. 29:24say one hour a day I'm going to do all three of these in one hour I'm going to go learn something new I'm going to try
169. 29:30to apply it and then I'm going to tell people what I learned set a timer for yourself wake up an hour early set a
170. 29:37timer for yourself and go play that like 90% of your ability to be awesome in the new AI world will be being able to iterate through this
171. 29:52three steps over and over and over again um my daughter's finally using AI for her nonprofit grant writing she's pretty
172. 30:05excited about it she she should be it's really good at writing grants yeah that's good that's awesome chat GPT upgrade looming oh is
173. 30:17chat GPT being a pain in the ass they well they've got we've got chat G pt5 coming I thought they said
174. 30:26May but we might get it earlier okay so let's move on the AI Readiness framework so so these five pillars that I'm going to talk about are
175. 30:42um are the basis of the AI Readiness training program that M Murphy and I put together um along with with Vicky
176. 30:50Baptist so the first one is um generative AI exploration I I'll dig into each of these but basically that's play that's your explore
177. 31:01that to to be AI ready you you have to be in a constant state of exploration things are absolutely changing too fast
178. 31:10in fact Ethan mullik um wrote a piece about this last week or the week before where he basically said the stuff that
179. 31:18you you know the cert the the AI certificate you got you know six months ago or the the training that you took or
180. 31:26the thing where you thought you had mastered the tool is probably irrelevant today and that's going to keep happening
181. 31:32like that you're going to keep learning new stuff get your head head around something and then a new technology is
182. 31:39going to come out that just makes whatever that knowledge was obsolete for whatever reason you don't need to do it
183. 31:45anymore there's a better way to do it now you've just moved on and nobody does that kind of stuff anymore um so so
184. 31:52exploration the second pillar is about thinking about AI in the context of business the third one is thinking about
185. 31:59AI in the context of the creative process the fourth pillar is about responsibility and ethics and security
186. 32:08and innovating in as responsible a way as possible because everything is moving so fast there are massive opportunities
187. 32:18to really [ __ ] things up so it would be swell if you didn't do that um and then the the fifth pillar is putting all this
188. 32:27stuff into action ction really stepping into using everything that you've learned and applying it to business and
189. 32:34creating Frameworks and workflows and things like that and knowing that everything that you build will likely be obsolete in six months to a
190. 32:45year and not only being okay with that but essentially embracing that that's that's where I think we go all right uh
191. 32:57so so the first the first pillar generative AI exploration start with Wonder stay curious stay Hands-On so teach yourself teach
192. 33:07yourself if if you haven't really explored it like what is generative AI we've been talking about AI for ever
193. 33:14right but what is generative AI like where did it come from why does it matter now why is November 30th 2022 an incredibly important date in
194. 33:26history and if you don't know go ask chat GPT What's significant about that date start exploring use cases across
195. 33:37Industries like outside of your industry use it for hobbies use it for hobbies that you gave up on or thought
196. 33:44you'd never do again use it for side projects um understand the Core Concepts of generative AI like once you
197. 33:57kind of get prompting you kind of get prompting and it doesn't matter whether you're making a song or an image or a business plan or
198. 34:08code understand iterations understand pattern matching oh that that it behaved way over here that's very similar to how
199. 34:16it behaved over here understand contexts and how important context is in the conversation and then the the the the fifth Point here is
200. 34:28understand how critical it is to learn by doing you know try it fail try again fail try again get comfortable with the
201. 34:43discomfort of failure because you're going to have a lot of it so the goal of this pillar the goal of this first pillar of AI Readiness is
202. 34:54to get curious get inspired and get messy this is the playground stage it's it's actually the foundation of
203. 35:01everything this is we used to have this thing at agency.com called geek and tells where someone would learn
204. 35:06something they'd say gather around and they they teach something how did they discover that thing I don't know they
205. 35:12just try it or we'd have a problem we're like well we got to be able to solve the problem and someone would solve
206. 35:18it gather around you know be on the playground is there a replay from Sunday's Learn out Loud Workshop the
207. 35:29mid-journey one I would assume so Stacy uh Vicki will know and we'll probably pipe up here oh man let's see how many websites can you
208. 35:42publish in Claude with the free version is there a limit I think there's probably just a limit on number of
209. 35:47tokens all right so that's pillar one pillar two is the AI powered business um from Insight in uh to Innovation powered by your your
210. 35:58intuition um spot real problems so so when you start to when you get a foundation of understanding what the
211. 36:06tools make possible and how you explore with them and iterate with them then you can start to do things like look at
212. 36:12things in your business that are are real problems and and think about where AI can help solve that think in systems
213. 36:18not just tools again a lot of the solutions you're going to have to duct tape together four or five different
214. 36:24things to to actually solve something um get used to that data becomes really critical use data intentionally ethically
215. 36:35strategically securely right are you allowed to put the data that you're putting into chat GPT into chat GPT do
216. 36:43you have data protection agreements in place that work for your business and for your clients if not you got to get
217. 36:49that [ __ ] together um start building workflows that are flexible and iterative and obviously AI enabled but
218. 36:57but right now we're probably going to have a lot of systems where AI is doing a piece of the solution and traditional
219. 37:03systems are doing another part of the solution how do you glue all those things together start thinking about
220. 37:09workflows in that context and then start small and build Tor toward long-term transformation start with small little
221. 37:16projects individual little efficiencies and then start to Lego those things together into longer term things um also
222. 37:26be prepared to abandon everything and start over um so your goal in this phase or in this in this uh pillar is align AI with real
223. 37:37value right understand what the business needs and what you're trying to accomplish with it and business could be
224. 37:43big business it could be your own personal business it could be just family getting [ __ ] done putting
225. 37:49together um uh you know schedules for for getting the kids around party planning it it business bu is just
226. 37:58solving problems Okay the third pillar is the creative process make it weird make it beautiful make it yours get
227. 38:07creative whatever limitations you think you've had around creativity you can let that go if if stepdaddy told you you didn't
228. 38:19you weren't talented and you let that you know uh invade your life time to let stepdaddy and particular statement
229. 38:29go um so as you're exploring um with AI on the creative process think collaboratively think full storytelling
230. 38:39think visuals think music think design think form all of the stuff think of yourself like a creative director right like a
231. 38:47conductor of a symphony you've got all these tools you can do all this stuff it's just your vision you want to get out
232. 38:53there guide with Clarity your Creative Vision is the thing you know Bob Bob mentioned hey Ricky Ruben you know be inspired by Rick
233. 39:05rubben he he is a Grammy award-winning music producer that doesn't write songs can't work a recording conso but he's
234. 39:14got taste and he's willing to put it lay down the law this is good this is not good so guide with Clarity explore new formats Styles and
235. 39:26genres lots of iteration lots of play lots of things that are if like this the the visual look and feel of this
236. 39:35presentation is not something I ever would have picked but now that I've got it in my hands I love it like you can
237. 39:42only discover that through playing um navigate Creative ethics there's a a new video model that just came out that
238. 39:51is has only been trained on licensed um data and as you generate with it the artists that contributed to it get
239. 40:00paid um if that's important to you seek those things out Adobe is another company that um built their models with
240. 40:10with uh with ethics in mind mid journey is the most beautiful tool out there and it is littered with um you know uh unethical um data
241. 40:25collection but it's the best so you have a choice to make we always have a choice to make with these things but understand
242. 40:31that those choices are there and and can be made um and then use AI to break blocks like one of the things that I've
243. 40:40recognized recently is that I no longer have creative blocks like writer's block haven't had it in two
244. 40:50years visual you know frustrations that I didn't have the talent or a vision or an idea gone why because I play with this stuff
245. 41:01enough to know I don't have to worry about that now if I need an idea if I need 50 ideas I can have them in 30
246. 41:07seconds will 50 of them be good ideas no but will three of those ideas in the 50 spark something in me that makes me go oh yep every single
247. 41:21time um so the goal in this phase is to expl expand your creative process through thoughtful intentional experimentation right experiment be
248. 41:33creative and again previous one was business this is creative those two go together really nicely third one responsible Innovation
249. 41:44power without purpose is dangerous power shared is transformative really start to understand things like ethical risks of
250. 41:53AI what are the biases what's the misinformation surveillance deep fakes all that sort of stuff really start to understand that explore
251. 42:01it just because it can do bad doesn't mean everything's bad right one of the one of the things that that I'll hear a
252. 42:09lot from from people that are in the the kind of denial stage of AI is well it's evil it's this it's that it's gonna the
253. 42:17robots are going to kill us lots of bad things can happen but if you understand what they are you can help create a
254. 42:25world where we mitig those risks right um build Frameworks for trust like do things as transparently as you can and
255. 42:35with safety in mind um evaluate AI generated content critically not passively um ocean earlier asked should
256. 42:43we judge AI when you're looking at AI content you should be judging it you should be critiquing it you should
257. 42:50understand that it hallucinates and it's probably wrong and it's probably all screwed up my writing partner I'm
258. 42:56working on the musical right now and um he uploaded our script into chat GPT and he said you know give me some
259. 43:09analysis of of what could be better and it said well the character of Jen you know is probably a little thin
260. 43:16and could be a little deeper and the the character of Sam is you know is a little cliche and could probably be a little
261. 43:25better which are really reason reable critiques of those two characters except those two characters are not in our script they're not in our
262. 43:35play so so even stuff that you know really well where you've used a tool to do this exact same thing before
263. 43:43sometimes they just go [ __ ] off the rails they just get weird you got to understand that stuff right there's just
264. 43:50all all sorts of nightmares of like lawyers that gave a a legal brief to a judge and all the itations in it didn't exist they were all made
265. 44:01up that's not ai's fault that's that lawyer's fault because he didn't look at this stuff critically um create Innovation
266. 44:10environments get intentional with who you put on teams and how you put orgs together and what communities you join
267. 44:16you should join the AI Salon you should join she leads AI get into communities with people that are thinking like this and it'll
268. 44:25accelerate what you do and then this is ultimately a culture thing not a policy thing again things are moving so fast by the
269. 44:37time bodies get around to creating legislation or rules the technology will have moved on a lot of the the EU right now is
270. 44:48suffering because two and a half years ago they put um legislation in place based on where where the technology was
271. 44:58then it couldn't anticipate what was coming and it was so rigid that now whenever open AI launches a new
272. 45:06technology everyone has access to it in the world except the EU until they make special carve outs for that specific use
273. 45:17case because they overregulation co-creation just you know learn this stuff be aware of this stuff understand
274. 45:32Safety and Security and and data privacy all all the stuff that's important in any other kind of data use it's about a hundred times more
275. 45:43important with AI because things are moving so fast and it's so easy to get yourself in trouble because AI is really good at looking at
276. 45:55unstructured data and pulling out insights out of it so if you accidentally dump the company Goods out
277. 46:02on onto an an AI Forum well people are going to be able to find that stuff really quickly all right and then the last
278. 46:11pillar is putting AI into action right so we started with exploration and we looked at solving problems within the business context
279. 46:20then we looked at creativity then we looked at responsibility you bring all those together and it's the fifth
280. 46:25pillar so insight into application Community into Innovation Network um talk to as many people as you
281. 46:34can learn what's working for them what's not working for them um be inspired by people outside of your expertise and outside of your
282. 46:44industry um start thinking about building tools and templates and workflows that are reusable right so sure a lot of times
283. 46:54I'll hear this someone will ask about like custom GPT why would you need a custom GPT couldn't I just write that
284. 47:01prompt myself well you could but it might take you an hour to get that prompt dialed in and do it and someone's
285. 47:08already built one so just use that right so start thinking about how can you take these tools that amplify you and just
286. 47:16you know get better and better and better at that um learn from and with others Learn out Loud be a leader let
287. 47:24other people lead and teach you um AI isn't replacing your work it's accelerating what's possible this one's a bit of a [ __ ] up
288. 47:38one because AI is going to replace the tasks that a lot of people do and that is in turn going to cost a lot of people their
289. 47:48jobs and those displaced people will have access to those tools that can take their ideas and amplify them and accept
290. 47:56accelerate what's possible for them if you learn this [ __ ] within your company your chances of surviving a layoff round
291. 48:04are higher than if you're not using these tools right because if AI is going to cause disruption who's management
292. 48:11going to keep the ones that understand Ai and it's probably not going to be management which is completely [ __ ]
293. 48:21up and then Embrace collaborative ecosystems where humans and AI learn create and Lead together right this so
294. 48:29I've got this book called collective intelligence and what it's about is the reason AI is so powerful is it's trained
295. 48:35on the collective intelligence of people so if you take the tool of generative AI that is collective intelligence in
296. 48:43technology form and then you combine that with the collective intelligence of groups of smart people working nimbly
297. 48:50with AI it it just amplifies that even further all right so so that's the big deal there and then your goal in this
298. 48:58fifth pillar is to you know build your own toolkit figure out what works what doesn't keep the stuff that works keep
299. 49:05learning and exploring and just replace out stuff as as it ages out which is going to happen really quick so that's it that is the AI
300. 49:14Readiness framework so I hope you dig it all right and then uh the AI Readiness project uh we have a podcast it's Wednesdays at 4
301. 49:25except this week we're doing it Thursday at like one because I I'm giving this talk actually um so I can't do it and
302. 49:35then um and then are you ready for ai.com is the uh we're we're taking this framework this is being um converted

310. 51:00AI a lot of people don't know what that actually means does does that mean play with chat GPT well yeah does it mean
311. 51:08this other thing over here yeah does it mean this yeah it means all of it right what doing a program like the AI Readiness project does
312. 51:22is force you down rabbit holes you wouldn't instinctively go down so maybe you're super creative and you
313. 51:29get to that second pillar which is about AI in business and you're like oh God that sounds awful yeah it it it will and
314. 51:37then you get in there and start playing with it and you're like oh wait a minute I could actually apply this over here
315. 51:42this other part of my life and and then and then if you're really into business and you see that creative one you're
316. 51:48like oh I'm not creative that's not me and then you get into it and you're like oh no I'm actually kind of good at
317. 51:55this and I kind of enjoy it right that's the whole intent is to give people as broad a base as possible to explore
318. 52:04within and then you know get up to speed and and get going the the one thing that I want to add to the end of this presentation
319. 52:16is this is never done it it's my contention that for the next 10 years at least this transformative chaos will be the
320. 52:33reality that only the people that are adaptive and curious and ambitious and are exploring and are figuring it
321. 52:43out are going to be the ones that truly succeed in this because I was talking to to Ann Murphy about this today we were talking about
322. 52:52the framework and you know she's been she's been exploring all this stuff and leading community and all that for you know
323. 53:02about the same time I have for like two years and I said you know imagine if a year ago you were like okay I got all
324. 53:09these tools figured out and I'm good I'm I'm just gonna lock it down and I'm GNA do my um my fundraising business using
325. 53:16all these you know um zappier automations that I've made I'm just going to lock it down I said imagine if
326. 53:24you just stopped EXP exporing back then because you had it all figured out and now Manis comes along and and
327. 53:33because you're not paying attention to it because you have it all figured out you you don't even know what Manis is
328. 53:38and if you don't know what Manis is Manis is a truly autonomous agent that will go off and do work for you at a at
329. 53:45a at just a remarkable it'll go off for like 15 20 30 minutes looking at websites writing code building building you a website building you
330. 53:57reports just goes off and does it you give it a goal and it's just off well if you kind of lock [ __ ] down
331. 54:03here you're going to miss stuff like that coming and that kind of stuff could come along and completely upend her
332. 54:09business if she just locked it down then so this this AI Readiness is a mindset and the purpose of the program
333. 54:18being so broad is so that you look at as many different lenses as possible and then just [ __ ] turn on the Curiosity

352. 57:56shape that that a generative AI just thinks like I'm a tubby a tubby boy so um so
353. 58:12so your your ego if you're gonna do anything with yourself in it you gotta you gotta have a you gotta have a a strong
354. 58:21ego when when these pictures first came out I'm like no I'm I'm hipper than that but apparently I'm not because they're pretty consistent oh
355. 58:37man um so here's some other ones okay so so lots and lots of images so here's how I got to these so if you go to the personalized
356. 58:49tab in mid Journey there's these thing called mood boards and you can right here you can create a mood board let the
357. 58:57interface a little bigger for you you can create profiles which are just basically here's pictures that I like and it'll make things that
358. 59:06generally look like what you like but you can create a mood board which your very specific images and you can they're
359. 59:13easy to make you can upload images of your own like I did some let me see can I click on this yeah like here's some
360. 59:21these are photographs that I took with an actual camera and then edited in aperture um and then I made a mood board
361. 59:31out of these so I can use this mood board and make images where the sky the skies are always these cool dramatic looking Skies
362. 59:41um so one of the mood boards that we made is a bunch of images that Vicky Baptist made which were inspired by some images
363. 59:54that Marisol made for for what was it for she leads Ai and for some other things I think that's right isn't that right Vicky and so I took
364. 1:00:05some of the some of the images that Vicki made that I really liked and I put them in my own mood board so so I've got
365. 1:00:11this mood board it doesn't have that many images in it right it's just a handful of images but it's got like cool
366. 1:00:16treatment of faces and it's got these cool geometric shapes I uploaded all the materials for Saturday's session on model architectures today
367. 1:00:30very cool yes you got it great and then the way you do this is you go back here so I can just say use mood board
368. 1:00:40and when I say that it puts this long ass code into the into the prompt and then so now that that's in there I can go back out to create
369. 1:00:56and I'll just scroll all the way up to the top here so you can see what's going on so a lot of times what I'll do is
370. 1:01:07I'll just do a concept like I'll do AI Readiness and then d-p stands for D- profile and then I guess m equals mood board and then
371. 1:01:22there's this big long code now some weird [ __ ] happens here but let me let me show you I'll go AI Readiness and then I'm going to go style
372. 1:01:33anywhere between 50 and a th um if you put it at zero it tends not to use the mood board so that can be really frustrating so generally what
373. 1:01:42I'll do is I'll set it at 50 and then the aspect ratio that I want so in this case I wanted 16 by9 for my slides and then you say
374. 1:01:56make it and it'll make now it's going to make four Images it's going to interpret AI Readiness using that mood board with a style weight of
375. 1:02:0850 now I want to show you a couple of weird things about mid Journey so those are kind of cool they they look like AI Readiness in a
376. 1:02:19neighborhood right like I didn't have to do [ __ ] I just picked the mood board and out came those images that's kind of
377. 1:02:26cool now in in mid Journey if you click on this text that that is the prompt it will pre-populate your prompt and if you
378. 1:02:34click on this thing that says mood board AI Readiness it will add-- profile and this shorter code so when I went to to personalize
379. 1:02:46and click on use the mood board it gives me the big long number how it interprets it over here is with the name of the mood board
380. 1:02:57and then when you reuse it it does this shortened code and it uses the fullword profile instead of just
381. 1:03:08d-p um that is confusing as [ __ ] they need to fix that it should just use the name of the mood board but whatever um this is all remnants
382. 1:03:20from mid Journey started as a as a Discord server where you could make IM in Discord and you had to use command
383. 1:03:27line commands and so it is somewhere in between having a good user interface and still having shitty ass Doss
384. 1:03:39commands and Engineers love the commands but human beings don't so not that Engineers are not human beings don't get me
385. 1:03:51wrong they can't use the name of the mood board it has to be unique yeah I I I get it but it's but it's still it's
386. 1:03:58three it's three different from a user standpoint it's three different things they could absolutely Vicky if I clicked
387. 1:04:06on mood board AI Readiness they could put mood board AI Readiness here and have this code in the background right like this is solvable with
388. 1:04:16technology um okay so what I'll often do is I'll do one at 50 then I'll do one at 500 somewhere in the 500 range and and
389. 1:04:25then I'll do one at a thousand so I'm going to do AI Readiness mood board change that to a th and hit that and then I'll just kind
390. 1:04:34of like look at them and say you know which one of these is in the neighborhood of what I'm looking for then it wouldn't be janky AI I know
391. 1:04:43exactly exactly exactly exactly [Music]
392. 1:04:58you know it's funny and and it's like like sometimes the colors are slightly off like that one is this really bright sky
393. 1:05:09blue but the ones I have in the presentation are more of a green like this one's a little more green so you
394. 1:05:15just kind of just keep making [ __ ] until you see [ __ ] that you like and then if I want to add words into the slide I could
395. 1:05:23do AI readiness mood board but I could say AI Readiness with a large sign that says AI
396. 1:05:41Readiness and I'll do like 500 on that one do you use face swap or a trained model of yourself character ref I have
397. 1:05:54difficulty getting an exact likeness for multiple images I use character refs but you have to you have to kind of understand
398. 1:06:04character waiting um so generally it works like this I think character waiting is Zer to 100 if someone can confirm that I think
399. 1:06:14it's zero to 100 um but anyway here so here's these images that now have ai Readiness in them a lot of times it'll misspell
400. 1:06:23things but you can fix that but so now I get words in it because I I put in quote marks AI Readiness right so
401. 1:06:31AI Readiness is the concept and then in quote marks AI Readiness is the big sign with AI Readiness on it cool
402. 1:06:39right um okay so if I want to add a face in let's we'll go add in my big fat face um okay here's here's corporate
403. 1:06:52corporate fat me so I'll put I'll put character reference um here and then if I do let's go back out and we'll do
404. 1:07:06um we'll do the same one AI Readiness with a large sign that says AI Readiness but we'll have this character in there
405. 1:07:13I'll just leave this as a default we'll do I guess we'll do I'll do stylization of a 100 now this should give me a big set of tubby Kyle

410. 1:08:11there have starting to get the style right but it's still tubby Kyle so what you do is this I'll go uh that tubby Kyle and mood board
411. 1:08:25and then I'm going to do dash dash CW and which stands for character weight and the way this works is if you do it a character weight of a
412. 1:08:38100 it will mat it'll try to match that picture exactly so I'll do one of a 100 I think the default for character
413. 1:08:48weight is 60 or 70 so the reason these things are all wearing the same shirt and you know I mostly look the same and
414. 1:08:56it's sort of made me kind of the same is because it's 70 so there's 100 and then I'll do the same thing AI Readiness um tubby
415. 1:09:11Kyle profile and here I'll go dash dash CW um space one what a lower character weight does is it'll basically just keep your face
416. 1:09:25and it'll change everything else it'll change the hair it'll change the outfit so I'm going to do a character weight of one

457. 1:18:03it's going to give me four images that fill in the whole background but leave me in there as is
458. 1:18:26look I got big long big super long arms I think I think that one's good and then I can upscale this to the
459. 1:18:36gallery and now I have a completely usable picture of me on a bench with my boyfriend that's
