Description

AI Readiness is a thing. Are you ready? This insightful discussion centers around the concept of "AI Readiness," a mindset emphasizing continuous learning and adaptation in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. Kyle Shannon argues against the idea of "AI literacy" as a static achievement, highlighting the constant influx of new tools and technologies. Instead, Kyle Shannon proposes a three-step cyclical journey: explore new AI tools with curiosity; experiment mindfully to solve real-world problems; and elevate generously by sharing knowledge and leading within communities. This approach fosters adaptability and encourages individuals to embrace the transformative chaos of the AI landscape. Kyle further breaks down AI Readiness into five key pillars: generative AI exploration; AI-powered business; the creative process; responsible innovation; and putting AI into action. They stress the importance of play and experimentation, urging viewers to push their creative boundaries and challenge their perceived limitations. Ethical considerations are also addressed, emphasizing the need for critical evaluation of AI-generated content and responsible data handling. Ultimately, the message is clear: continuous exploration, mindful experimentation, and generous elevation are crucial for thriving in the age of AI. 4:37 fantasies send of
4:41 [Music]
4:47 me hope you're doing well good people
4:50 I'm a little uh a little under the
4:52 weather I've got a scratched cornea and
4:54 it's so it's hard to it's hard to
4:58 see and it hurts
5:02 but but I'll do the best I can I will do
5:05 what I
5:06 [Music]
5:11 can there we
5:15 are I am also without a producer tonight
5:18 Brandon producer Brandon is in Vegas
5:23 baby so hopefully I'll have a a mod or
5:26 two on on the Tik Tock keep the Tik Tock
5:29 in order and then I just got to you know
5:31 deal with the uh camera tabs
5:37 situation oh
5:41 man I worked on a uh a framework today
5:45 so an Murphy and I have got this AI
5:47 Readiness project and we're putting
5:49 together this training along with Vicky
5:51 Baptist which is coming
5:53 soon and
5:56 uh but we needed a framework we needed a
5:58 framework to talk about independ depend
6:00 of the training so I worked on that
6:01 today I've got a I've got a talk I'm
6:04 doing on
6:06 Wednesday and so I figured I might pre
6:08 preview that for you guys
6:10 tonight how the heck did you scratch the
6:12 cornes what's happening baby uh I
6:16 scratched the cornea I probably tore it
6:19 like 30 years ago I retesh you probably
6:23 actually remember remember Max and Cleo
6:25 our two
6:27 Labs uh I was going in for a good dog
6:31 kiss on the face of Cleo and one of her
6:33 whiskers just poked me right in the
6:35 eye um and it scratch the cornea and
6:39 then whenever I if I if I get dehydrated
6:42 at night if I don't drink enough water
6:44 it like you know my eyelid sticks to my
6:46 corny or whatever and it just like
6:49 aggravates
6:50 it so yeah so I'm in the middle of
6:55 that retesh Patel is one of my best
6:59 mates in all of the in all of the earth
7:02 he's an amazing amazing man he was
7:05 my at um at agency.com back in the olden
7:09 timey days and now he's a uh Big Shot
7:13 innovator in the
7:16 uh oh yeah I remember yeah yeah they
7:19 were crazy those two dogs weren't they
7:21 Max and
7:21 Cleo Rees just got a new gig he's an
7:25 innovator in the healthc care space does
7:28 amazing amazing work so good to see you
7:31 buddy um so I've been I I I am I am
7:36 increasingly
7:40 increasingly
7:41 convinced that none of us can really
7:44 prepare for what's
7:46 coming um that it's coming fast and that
7:50 there's a fallacy right now about being
7:53 AI literate people are talking about
7:55 being AI literate I don't think you can
7:57 be I think things are changing too fast
7:59 but
8:00 that's not to say that you can't be
8:02 ready for AI um prepared for what's
8:05 coming um and I'm calling that AI
8:07 Readiness rather than AI literacy and so
8:10 that's the thing I've been thinking a
8:11 lot about over the past two months um
8:14 and the more I think about it the more
8:16 right it feels and generally with me
8:18 that's how it goes I'll think about
8:20 something I I have brain farts all the
8:22 time and most of the times you know like
8:24 good gas they just they just move on
8:26 they just pass along and never think
8:28 about them again but
8:31 sometimes they
8:32 [Music]
8:34 stick and uh AI Readiness is one of
8:38 those that's sticking I was thinking
8:40 about that too there's so many AI tools
8:42 to keep up with for all sorts of things
8:44 yeah and and so so I put together a
8:47 framework so I thought what I might do
8:48 tonight is actually I'll run through the
8:51 the presentation that I'm going to give
8:52 at this event on uh on
8:55 Wednesday um
8:58 and and then you can tell me if it sucks
9:01 or
9:05 not because I trust you all more than I
9:08 trust most other people with retesh is
9:11 the exception I don't trust him at all
9:14 you know not at all he'll tell me it's
9:16 great he'll be like yeah yeah dude
9:17 that's awesome go do that and then you
9:19 know it's just you got to be careful
9:21 with him super nice guy incredible
9:24 remarkable dude but you know
9:30 everyone should be AI curious yeah
9:31 exactly well I think I think uh
9:34 curiosity retesh is
9:36 actually the foundation of AI Readiness
9:39 starts with curiosity and play um and
9:43 and it's so funny
9:46 it's where I go
9:49 with where where I started with AI was
9:53 where we always start with computers
9:55 which is I can take my current work and
9:57 make that more
9:58 efficient and and what you discover the
10:01 more you dig around with AI is that it
10:03 can not only make you more efficient but
10:06 it it can actually amplify your ideas
10:08 and it can give you skills and
10:10 superpowers where you never thought
10:12 you'd have them and the only way that
10:14 you can actually discover all of the
10:16 things that it can make possible for you
10:18 is to play without
10:21 expectation right you know don't go into
10:23 it thinking I'm not a coder or I can't
10:27 write music or I'm I'm not I don't have
10:29 a creative bone in my body I can't make
10:32 pictures you actually
10:34 can and with AI it it will reveal things
10:39 to you about who you are and what
10:42 you want to accomplish that you never
10:45 thought possible and the only way to get
10:47 there is through play and curiosity and
10:49 things like that figure out what sucks
10:51 don't do that fores it is totally back
10:53 to the early days of agency.com it
10:56 really is it it's it's it's just no
10:59 different it's everyone's trying to
11:01 figure it out I mean the big difference
11:03 between now and the early days of the
11:05 web is that the the web was essentially
11:07 one thing right it was the hypertext
11:10 transfer protocol in the web browser
11:13 right it was hyperlinks it turned the
11:15 internet from command line into
11:18 clickable and and as silly as that
11:22 sounds that's the primary Innovation
11:24 it's just that it it connects data from
11:28 different computers at the click of a a
11:30 mouse or at the tap of a phone
11:35 um and this AI stuff is is just you know
11:38 a million times more sophisticated Vibe
11:41 Cinema what's happening good to see
11:44 you um so I think that's what we'll do
11:47 tonight we we'll go through the uh the
11:49 AI Readiness uh
11:52 [Music]
11:54 framework are you official Little
11:56 Caesars
11:59 [Music]
12:02 [Applause]
12:07 [Music]
12:18 oh
12:20 chiy he's back at
12:24 it in a Westerly Direction
12:28 [Music]
12:31 car is my
12:33 train I've been driving I've been
12:36 [Music]
12:37 wondering what it is I'm running from
12:42 again feel like an 80y old
12:46 man holding on to
12:50 29 and upe on that Horizon you done
12:54 singing

13:02 [Music]
13:05 ah had trucks carrying a wide
13:08 load brib house could
13:12 I cute little front door and two windows
13:15 my does Tom does Champion a perfect
13:18 pitch he has better pitch than I do I'll
13:20 tell you that
13:23 much oh man all right so let's get let's
13:27 get started we'll jump right in so
13:28 here's the deal if you've never been
13:29 here before I'm Kyle Shannon this the AI
13:31 learning lab if you have questions about
13:33 AI pop them in the comments I will
13:36 always have an opinion about something I
13:38 occasionally know something but it's
13:41 very rare uh the nickname of the channel
13:44 is chat
13:45 add so so the the odds of me completing
13:49 a sentence or a thought are low but the
13:53 the odds of of H festivities are
13:57 high all right Kyle from Ocean should we
14:01 judge
14:02 AI should we judge AI or shouldn't
14:07 we also how soon will AI be able to
14:11 assist humans IQ uh I think
14:15 AI is already assisting my IQ I I mean
14:18 ai ai at this point is significantly
14:22 beyond my intellectual capacity so so it
14:26 is it is augmenting me daily so I think
14:28 that ship has already sailed
14:31 um and I I don't quite know what you
14:33 mean should we judge it or
14:36 not Vibe Cinema I I officially started
14:39 my old man phase of life this weekend G
14:41 to need regular physicals from here on
14:44 out I'm afraid well yeah welcome to it
14:47 welcome to the
14:49 party it sucks it
14:52 sucks um should we judge AI I don't know
14:55 what you mean by that
14:59 or shouldn't
15:01 we if you're asking should we think
15:03 critically about what AI does yeah like
15:07 that's a
15:08 requirement that's an absolute
15:10 requirement buffering buffering every
15:12 day I'm buffering oh boy well that
15:19 happens all right chat TMZ I got to do
15:22 my black bar for the Tik Tock
15:24 people chat TMZ yeah I don't have any
15:27 good uh I don't have any good gossip
15:29 today I should probably be following the
15:33 uh Ryan Reynolds Blake Lively Justin
15:36 baldon thing so I can give you guys
15:38 updates on that a lot of drama there um
15:42 and and you know that like I think it's
15:44 even affecting retesh the uh the
15:47 footballers over there in that that
15:48 England you know the you know the
15:51 country over there you I think you
15:53 visited there
15:56 once sharp shirt Kyle thank you thank
15:59 you very much I don't know what's going
16:00 on with the hair it's it's a little the
16:03 hair is a little sculpted it kind of
16:05 looks like I made it out of
16:09 Play-Doh and stuck it on my my bald ass
16:13 [Laughter]
16:17 head all right let's get let's get going
16:20 let's get this sh on rude on rude
16:23 yeah yeah I'll tell you
16:26 [Music]
16:28 what all right so here's the
16:32 presentation trying to figure out how to
16:34 do this best for the for the ticktockers
16:37 so they can see it there we go that's
16:39 pretty
16:41 good all right
16:45 um so
16:48 Wednesday England did well today beat
16:50 lvia three nothing 3-0 sorry three nil I
16:55 hope you I hope you celebrated with a
16:57 butter and cucumber sandwich with the
17:00 crust cut off of
17:02 course because you're you're
17:08 proper ret is a bless I miss you man I
17:11 gotta I gotta get out to New York and we
17:13 have the we have the 30th year
17:15 anniversary coming up
17:16 right yeah we do Jesus 30 years man
17:20 that's crazy when are we doing that may
17:23 is that
17:26 may absolutely nuts
17:30 all right you just look like you come
17:32 with the Barbie condo set with that hair
17:36 my grandma made me sick with cucumber
17:38 and butter sandwiches Vicki's from
17:41 Australia I swear to God man the first
17:44 time I went to our London office of
17:46 agency.com and they brought out
17:48 sandwiches or no it was for British
17:50 Airways it was when when we were
17:51 pitching British Airways rsh I remember
17:54 them like we had we had flown you know
17:58 all night
18:00 from New York to London we get to London
18:02 we have this big meeting where they're
18:03 tearing us a new [ __ ] and they bring
18:05 out these sandwiches and these little
18:08 triangles and I go to eat one and it's
18:10 just butter and a cucumber and I almost
18:13 threw it up right there on the spot I'm
18:16 like where's the
18:17 sandwich it was bad it was bad it was my
18:22 first lesson in international
18:25 cuisine it was not a good one
18:31 oh you lived in Australia for for oh
18:33 you're from England I thought you didn't
18:35 have an Australian accent you lived
18:36 there for 17 years okay that that
18:38 confused me so now that makes sense
18:41 Water Crest sandwiches ex exactly
18:44 exactly it's just like it's like in
18:46 England it's like
18:49 they it every piece of
18:52 food especially fancy tea time Foods
18:56 it's like they ran out of ingredients
18:58 and it's like well we got butter and
19:01 some weeds yeah just put them on the we
19:04 just have this white
19:06 bread just like cut them cut them in in
19:10 right angles people will think they're
19:13 fancy jam on
19:16 toast baked beans on toast I can get
19:18 down with baked beans are still
19:21 tasty oh man oh that's hilarious what
19:24 state am I in I'm in
19:27 colara oh what what what what state is
19:30 Vicky in I think she's in Illinois
19:34 right jamont toast is a southern thing
19:37 too yep Fallen okay Fallen sule all
19:42 right so here's what we're gonna do so
19:43 if you're in the um Colorado the Denver
19:48 area um Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 um
19:53 I'm speaking for this Colorado companies
19:55 to watch um panel on a I in the future
20:00 of business and so this is my this is my
20:02 presentation um okay so let
20:06 me get to the right screen here all
20:10 right so I I'm only showing this slide
20:12 because I just one of the nice things
20:14 about mid journey is you can take shitty
20:17 pictures of yourself and make yourself
20:19 look way hipper than you are so if you
20:22 haven't played around with character
20:23 reference is character reference is in
20:25 mid Journey you should do it because
20:27 it's a lot of fun now in order to get a
20:30 picture that's hip like this one I had
20:33 to suffer through probably 50 pictures
20:35 of me just looking like a
20:39 gargantuan just
20:41 embarrassingly hideous person based of
20:45 course on my
20:47 photo so it took me a while to get one
20:50 where I looked hip but I'm pretty happy
20:52 with that um okay
20:56 so so let's dig in here um last Thursday
21:00 a podcast came out um called stratechery
21:04 which I haven't heard of before uh but
21:06 I'm going to start listening to it and
21:07 they did an interview with Sam Alman and
21:10 in the Strater podcast Sam Alman said
21:13 this the people who are going to thrive
21:16 in this new era are the ones who treat
21:19 treat learning AI not as a one-time
21:22 skill but as a lifelong
21:25 interaction this isn't about mastering a
21:27 tool it's about develop in a
21:29 relationship with a new kind of
21:32 intelligence that quote to me is it like
21:36 it it really encapsulates the thing
21:38 that's kind of been burning in my brain
21:40 that we keep talking about these tools
21:43 we kep keep talking about the technology
21:45 we keep talking about the features we
21:47 keep talking about the new
21:49 models the tools at this point are way
21:53 more than single tools they're they're
21:55 now ecosystems and and if you want to
21:57 accomplish anything with
21:59 you're you're generally mixing and
22:01 matching lots of tools this is again
22:04 retach back to the early days of the web
22:06 right where we're duct taping you know
22:08 pieces of Technology together that turn
22:10 it into something coherent because you
22:12 know no infrastructure has been built
22:13 yet we're very much in the same place
22:15 with AI but these tools are already
22:19 significantly beyond anything we've ever
22:21 had before and
22:23 so flipping the switch in your brain
22:26 from I configure this thing this thing
22:29 out is really def redefining this
22:33 thing
22:36 um all right fantastic let's see Kyle
22:41 where did you get that slide animation
22:44 from which slide
22:47 animation that's just keynote the one
22:49 where I wiped it and Faded [ __ ] in
22:52 that's just from
22:54 keynote like the oh all these background
22:57 images I did in uh midj
22:59 so one of one of my New Joys in life is
23:03 mid Journey mood boards if you haven't
23:05 played with them I can go show you how I
23:07 made all these images um Mid Journey
23:10 mood boards are incredible because you
23:12 can do things like take Sam Alman like I
23:14 just took a picture from him from from
23:17 an article and pasted it in as a
23:19 character reference and just did I don't
23:21 know 20 or 30 images that used him as a
23:24 character reference and this was one of
23:26 the images that came out which I just
23:28 love
23:29 um but but yeah all of these all of
23:31 these images are from the AI Readiness
23:34 mood board that that we created for for
23:37 the new
23:39 podcast hi peeps hello hello good to see
23:42 you okay so AI Readiness let's define
23:47 it AI Readiness is when you're curious
23:51 enough to explore bold enough to
23:53 experiment and wise enough to elevate
23:56 with a with generative AI so you can
23:59 Thrive as the world
24:02 transforms bold curious enough to
24:05 explore bold enough to experiment and
24:08 wise enough to elevate or lead with
24:11 generative AI so you can Thrive as the
24:15 world
24:16 transforms make no mistake the world as
24:19 we know it today in in likely all
24:22 aspects but but particularly in business
24:24 and work is not going to be the same
24:28 five years from now as it was five years
24:31 previous it's just going to be a very
24:32 different thing and and so it is it is
24:36 those who kind of step onto the field in
24:38 this in this
24:40 phase it's not about technical Mastery
24:43 it's about your ability to play adapt
24:46 and lead lead
24:49 others critical absolutely [ __ ]
24:52 critical that that you have a sense of
24:56 play You're adaptable
24:59 and you're in community and ideally
25:01 you're leading in community retesh my
25:04 buddy from agency.com one of the best
25:07 people I know in on the planet for
25:10 networking and building community and
25:13 maintaining Community he's incredible at
25:15 it um I don't know if you know this I
25:18 really look up to you for that it's it's
25:20 it's a thing that I am I am woefully
25:23 inadequate at but you know okay so
25:29 what's the journey look like the journey
25:30 to AI
25:32 Readiness is actually quite simple it's
25:35 not easy but it's
25:38 simple so the journey to AI Readiness is
25:41 is three things in my opinion the first
25:43 one is
25:44 explore that you have to have this sense
25:46 of adventure you have to have the sense
25:48 of curiosity play first Tinker boldly
25:52 break things with
25:54 curiosity and especially as you're
25:57 exploring explore beyond your boundaries
26:00 explore those areas where you think you
26:02 don't have any talents or skills if
26:05 you've never written an application
26:06 before go to lovable. deev and start
26:09 describing an application you want
26:12 built and it will build it for you it
26:15 will do the code it will do the
26:17 interface and within 15 minutes to an
26:20 hour you will have built something in
26:24 code that you didn't think was
26:27 possible if you're a
26:29 coder and you're like I can't make
26:32 images oh those images are so cool I
26:34 couldn't do that go teach yourself mid
26:36 Journey go outside of your bounds so
26:38 that's that's step one step two is
26:42 experiment mindfully create with purpose
26:45 skill and care this is basically find
26:47 problems that need to be solved take
26:50 what you learn during the explore phase
26:52 and apply that to solving some problem
26:55 start experimenting come up with a
26:57 hypothesis huh I think I could come up
27:00 with a whole marketing strategy in about
27:01 an hour if I did it right and then go
27:04 prove that you can do it or
27:08 not and then the the third um step on
27:12 the journey to AI Readiness is to
27:14 elevate generously lead Learn out Loud
27:17 help others rise so this is
27:20 about not just making it about you but
27:23 sharing with others and get in
27:25 communities where that's part of the
27:27 culture
27:29 because you'll share something that you
27:31 learned and it will be a revelation for
27:33 someone they'll share what they learned
27:35 they'll think it's obvious to them and
27:37 not valuable because it seems obvious
27:40 and you'll look at that and go oh my God
27:42 I learned something new
27:45 today that's also how we're going to
27:47 hire people moving forward we're not
27:50 going to hire people for their
27:52 skills I'm going to assume because
27:55 you've got AI that you can code and that
27:58 you can make images and that you can
27:59 write songs and that you can write
28:02 business plans and marketing
28:05 plans so I'm not going to hire you for
28:08 the
28:08 skills why am I going to hire you well
28:11 I'm going to hire you because we worked
28:13 together 30 years ago or I'm going to
28:15 hire you because you're in that AI Salon
28:17 thing that I started and you actually
28:19 show up and and deliver and you have
28:23 integrity I'm going to hire you because
28:25 of who you are not what you know
28:28 the what you know part the skills
28:32 part AI is going to do a lot of that I'm
28:36 GNA hire you because you have
28:39 taste and you have good judgment How
28:41 will I know that only by working with
28:44 you only by experiencing you community
28:46 is the place to
28:47 be and
28:50 then this little journey to AI Readiness
28:53 this is not a linear thing it's not step
28:55 one two three I'm cycling through these
28:58 through these three steps like every
29:01 day like ah I don't think I I don't know
29:04 how to do this oh let me just go try
29:06 something I'll go explore huh that seems
29:08 like it worked let me go experiment it's
29:10 not quite ready for prime time but
29:12 that's kind of interesting hey guys look
29:14 what I just learned right it's it's it's
29:17 a daily you know you could take this
29:21 this this sort of
29:23 threep three-step thing and you could
29:25 say one hour a day I'm going to do all
29:27 three of these in one hour I'm going to
29:29 go learn something new I'm going to try
29:30 to apply it and then I'm going to tell
29:32 people what I learned set a timer for
29:35 yourself wake up an hour early set a
29:38 timer for yourself and go play that like
29:42 90%
29:44 of your ability to be awesome in the new
29:47 AI world will
29:50 be being able to iterate through this
29:53 three steps over and over and over
29:56 again um
30:00 my daughter's finally using AI for her
30:03 nonprofit grant writing she's pretty
30:05 excited about it she she should be it's
30:07 really good at writing
30:10 grants yeah that's good that's
30:15 awesome chat GPT upgrade looming oh is
30:18 chat GPT being a pain in the ass they
30:20 well they've got we've got chat G pt5
30:23 coming I thought they said
30:27 May but we might get it earlier okay so
30:31 let's move on the AI Readiness
30:34 framework
30:36 so so these five pillars that I'm going
30:38 to talk
30:39 about are
30:43 um are the basis of the AI Readiness
30:46 training program that M Murphy and I put
30:48 together um along with with Vicky
30:50 Baptist so the first one is um
30:53 generative AI exploration I I'll dig
30:56 into each of these but basically that's
30:58 play that's your explore
31:01 that to to be AI ready you you have to
31:05 be in a constant state of exploration
31:08 things are absolutely changing too fast
31:11 in fact Ethan mullik um wrote a piece
31:13 about this last week or the week before
31:16 where he basically said the stuff that
31:18 you you know the cert the the AI
31:21 certificate you got you know six months
31:24 ago or the the training that you took or
31:26 the thing where you thought you had
31:27 mastered the tool is probably irrelevant
31:30 today and that's going to keep happening
31:32 like that you're going to keep learning
31:35 new stuff get your head head around
31:38 something and then a new technology is
31:39 going to come out that just makes
31:41 whatever that knowledge was obsolete for
31:43 whatever reason you don't need to do it
31:45 anymore there's a better way to do it
31:47 now you've just moved on and nobody does
31:49 that kind of stuff anymore um so so
31:52 exploration the second pillar is about
31:55 thinking about AI in the context of
31:57 business the third one is thinking about
32:00 AI in the context of the creative
32:02 process the fourth pillar is about
32:05 responsibility and ethics and security
32:09 and innovating in as responsible a way
32:13 as possible because everything is moving
32:15 so fast there are massive opportunities
32:18 to really [ __ ] things up so it would be
32:21 swell if you didn't do that um and then
32:25 the the fifth pillar is putting all this
32:27 stuff into action ction really stepping
32:30 into using everything that you've
32:33 learned and applying it to business and
32:35 creating Frameworks and workflows and
32:37 things like that and knowing that
32:41 everything that you build will likely be
32:43 obsolete in six months to a
32:46 year and not only being okay with
32:50 that
32:52 but essentially embracing that that's
32:55 that's where I think we go all right uh
32:58 so so the first the first pillar
33:00 generative AI exploration start with
33:02 Wonder stay curious stay
33:05 Hands-On so teach yourself teach
33:07 yourself if if you haven't really
33:09 explored it like what is generative AI
33:11 we've been talking about AI for ever
33:15 right but what is generative AI like
33:17 where did it come from why does it
33:18 matter
33:19 now why is November 30th
33:23 2022 an incredibly important date in
33:26 history
33:29 and if you don't know go ask chat GPT
33:31 What's significant about that
33:34 date start exploring use cases across
33:38 Industries like outside of your
33:40 industry use it for hobbies use it for
33:43 hobbies that you gave up on or thought
33:45 you'd never do again use it for side
33:49 projects
33:52 um understand the Core
33:54 Concepts of generative AI like once you
33:57 kind of get prompting you kind of get
34:00 prompting and it doesn't matter whether
34:02 you're making a song or an image or a
34:05 business plan or
34:08 code understand iterations understand
34:11 pattern matching oh that that it behaved
34:15 way over here that's very similar to how
34:17 it behaved over here understand contexts
34:19 and how important context is in the
34:23 conversation and then the the the the
34:25 fifth Point here is
34:28 understand how critical it is to learn
34:32 by
34:33 doing you know try it fail try again
34:37 fail try again get comfortable with the
34:43 discomfort of failure because you're
34:46 going to have a lot of
34:48 it so the goal of this pillar the goal
34:51 of this first pillar of AI Readiness is
34:54 to get curious get inspired and get
34:57 messy this is the playground stage it's
35:00 it's actually the foundation of
35:01 everything this is we used to have this
35:03 thing at agency.com called geek and
35:05 tells where someone would learn
35:06 something they'd say gather around and
35:09 they they teach something how did they
35:11 discover that thing I don't know they
35:13 just try it or we'd have a problem we're
35:15 like well we got to be able to solve the
35:17 problem and someone would solve
35:19 it gather around you know be on the
35:25 playground is there a replay from
35:28 Sunday's Learn out Loud Workshop the
35:29 mid-journey one I would assume so Stacy
35:32 uh Vicki will know and we'll probably
35:34 pipe up
35:38 here oh
35:40 man let's see how many websites can you
35:43 publish in Claude with the free version
35:45 is there a limit I think there's
35:46 probably just a limit on number of
35:47 tokens all right so that's pillar one
35:51 pillar two is the AI powered business um
35:54 from Insight in uh to Innovation powered
35:57 by your your
35:59 intuition um spot real problems so so
36:03 when you start to when you get a
36:04 foundation of understanding what the
36:06 tools make possible and how you explore
36:09 with them and iterate with them then you
36:11 can start to do things like look at
36:12 things in your business that are are
36:14 real problems and and think about where
36:16 AI can help solve that think in systems
36:19 not just tools again a lot of the
36:21 solutions you're going to have to duct
36:22 tape together four or five different
36:25 things to to actually solve something
36:28 um get used to
36:30 that data becomes really critical use
36:33 data intentionally ethically
36:35 strategically securely right are you
36:39 allowed to put the data that you're
36:40 putting into chat GPT into chat GPT do
36:43 you have data protection agreements in
36:46 place that work for your business and
36:48 for your clients if not you got to get
36:50 that [ __ ] together um start building
36:53 workflows that are flexible and
36:55 iterative and obviously AI enabled but
36:58 but right now we're probably going to
36:59 have a lot of systems where AI is doing
37:02 a piece of the solution and traditional
37:04 systems are doing another part of the
37:05 solution how do you glue all those
37:08 things together start thinking about
37:09 workflows in that context and then start
37:11 small and build Tor toward long-term
37:15 transformation start with small little
37:17 projects individual little efficiencies
37:20 and then start to Lego those things
37:22 together into longer term things um also
37:26 be prepared to abandon everything and
37:29 start
37:30 over um so your goal in this phase or in
37:33 this in this uh pillar is align AI with
37:37 real
37:38 value right understand what the business
37:40 needs and what you're trying to
37:41 accomplish with it and business could be
37:44 big business it could be your own
37:45 personal business it could be just
37:47 family getting [ __ ] done putting
37:50 together um uh you know schedules for
37:54 for getting the kids around party
37:56 planning it it business bu is just
37:59 solving problems Okay the third pillar
38:02 is the creative process make it weird
38:06 make it beautiful make it yours get
38:08 creative whatever limitations you think
38:10 you've had around
38:13 creativity you can let that
38:16 go if if stepdaddy told you you didn't
38:19 you weren't talented and you let that
38:22 you know uh invade your life time to let
38:26 stepdaddy and particular statement
38:29 go um so as you're exploring um with AI
38:34 on the creative process think
38:36 collaboratively think full storytelling
38:39 think visuals think music think design
38:41 think
38:43 form all of the stuff think of yourself
38:45 like a creative director right like a
38:48 conductor of a symphony you've got all
38:49 these tools you can do all this stuff
38:51 it's just your vision you want to get
38:53 out
38:54 there guide with Clarity your Creative
38:57 Vision is the thing you know Bob Bob
39:01 mentioned hey Ricky Ruben you know be
39:04 inspired by Rick
39:06 rubben he he is a Grammy award-winning
39:09 music producer that doesn't write songs
39:12 can't work a recording conso but he's
39:15 got taste and he's willing to put it lay
39:18 down the law this is good this is not
39:21 good so guide with Clarity explore new
39:24 formats Styles and
39:26 genres lots of iteration lots of play
39:30 lots of things that are if like this the
39:33 the visual look and feel of this
39:36 presentation is not something I ever
39:38 would have picked but now that I've got
39:40 it in my hands I love it like you can
39:43 only discover that through
39:45 playing
39:46 um navigate Creative ethics there's a a
39:50 new video model that just came out that
39:52 is has only been trained on licensed um
39:55 data and as you generate with it
39:58 the artists that contributed to it get
40:00 paid um if that's important to you seek
40:05 those things out Adobe is another
40:07 company that um built their models with
40:10 with uh with ethics in mind mid journey
40:15 is the most beautiful tool out there and
40:17 it is littered with um you know uh
40:22 unethical um data
40:25 collection but it's the best so you have
40:28 a choice to make we always have a choice
40:29 to make with these things but understand
40:32 that those choices are there and and can
40:35 be made um and then use AI to break
40:38 blocks like one of the things that I've
40:40 recognized recently is that I no longer
40:44 have creative
40:46 blocks like writer's block haven't had
40:49 it in two
40:51 years visual you know frustrations that
40:55 I didn't have the talent or a vision or
40:56 an idea
40:59 gone why because I play with this stuff
41:01 enough to know I don't have to worry
41:03 about that now if I need an idea if I
41:05 need 50 ideas I can have them in 30
41:07 seconds will 50 of them be good ideas
41:11 no but will three of those ideas in the
41:14 50 spark something in me that makes me
41:16 go oh yep every single
41:22 time
41:24 um so the goal in this phase is to expl
41:27 expand your creative process through
41:30 thoughtful intentional
41:32 experimentation right experiment be
41:34 creative and again previous one was
41:36 business this is creative those two go
41:38 together really
41:42 nicely third one responsible Innovation
41:45 power without purpose is dangerous power
41:47 shared is
41:49 transformative really start to
41:51 understand things like ethical risks of
41:54 AI what are the biases what's the
41:56 misinformation surveillance deep fakes
41:58 all that sort of stuff really start to
42:00 understand that explore
42:02 it just because it can do bad doesn't
42:05 mean everything's bad right one of the
42:08 one of the things that that I'll hear a
42:10 lot from from people that are in the the
42:13 kind of denial stage of AI is well it's
42:16 evil it's this it's that it's gonna the
42:18 robots are going to kill us lots of bad
42:21 things can happen but if you understand
42:23 what they are you can help create a
42:25 world where we mitig those risks right
42:30 um build Frameworks for trust like do
42:34 things as transparently as you can and
42:35 with safety in mind um evaluate AI
42:39 generated content critically not
42:41 passively um ocean earlier asked should
42:43 we judge AI when you're looking at AI
42:46 content you should be judging it you
42:48 should be critiquing it you should
42:50 understand that it hallucinates and it's
42:52 probably wrong and it's probably all
42:55 screwed up my writing partner I'm
42:57 working on the musical right now and um
43:02 he uploaded our script into chat
43:07 GPT and he said you know give me some
43:09 analysis of of what could be better and
43:12 it said well the character of
43:14 Jen you know is probably a little thin
43:17 and could be a little deeper and the the
43:19 character of Sam is you know is a little
43:23 cliche and could probably be a little
43:25 better which are really reason reable
43:28 critiques of those two characters except
43:31 those two characters are not in our
43:33 script they're not in our
43:35 play so so even stuff that you know
43:39 really well where you've used a tool to
43:41 do this exact same thing before
43:43 sometimes they just go [ __ ] off the
43:45 rails they just get weird you got to
43:48 understand that stuff right there's just
43:51 all all sorts of nightmares of like
43:53 lawyers that gave a a legal brief to a
43:56 judge and all the itations in it didn't
43:59 exist they were all made
44:01 up that's not ai's fault that's that
44:04 lawyer's fault because he didn't look at
44:06 this stuff
44:07 critically um create Innovation
44:11 environments get intentional with who
44:13 you put on teams and how you put orgs
44:15 together and what communities you join
44:17 you should join the AI Salon you should
44:20 join she leads
44:21 AI get into communities with people that
44:24 are thinking like this and it'll
44:26 accelerate what you do
44:29 and then this is ultimately a culture
44:31 thing not a policy thing again things
44:33 are moving so fast by the
44:38 time bodies get around to creating
44:41 legislation or
44:43 rules the technology will have moved on
44:45 a lot of the the EU right now is
44:48 suffering because two and a half years
44:51 ago they put um legislation in place
44:56 based on where where the technology was
44:59 then it couldn't anticipate what was
45:01 coming and it was so rigid that now
45:04 whenever open AI launches a new
45:07 technology everyone has access to it in
45:09 the world except the
45:11 EU until they make
45:13 special carve outs for that specific use
45:17 case because they overregulation
45:27 co-creation just you know learn this
45:30 stuff be aware of this stuff understand
45:32 Safety and Security and and
45:37 data privacy all all the stuff that's
45:40 important in any other kind of data use
45:42 it's about a hundred times more
45:43 important with AI because things are
45:45 moving so fast and it's so
45:48 easy
45:50 to get yourself in trouble
45:53 because AI is really good at looking at
45:56 unstructured data and pulling out
45:58 insights out of it so if you
46:00 accidentally dump the company Goods out
46:02 on onto an an AI Forum well people are
46:07 going to be able to find that stuff
46:08 really quickly all right and then the
46:10 last
46:11 pillar is putting AI into action right
46:15 so we started with
46:16 exploration and we looked at solving
46:19 problems within the business context
46:21 then we looked at creativity then we
46:22 looked at responsibility you bring all
46:24 those together and it's the fifth
46:26 pillar so insight into application
46:29 Community into Innovation
46:31 Network um talk to as many people as you
46:35 can learn what's working for them what's
46:37 not working for them um be inspired by
46:41 people outside of your expertise and
46:44 outside of your
46:45 industry um start thinking about
46:48 building tools and templates and
46:49 workflows that are
46:51 reusable right so sure a lot of times
46:54 I'll hear this someone will ask about
46:57 like custom GPT why would you need a
46:59 custom GPT couldn't I just write that
47:01 prompt myself well you could but it
47:05 might take you an hour to get that
47:06 prompt dialed in and do it and someone's
47:09 already built one so just use that right
47:11 so start thinking about how can you take
47:14 these tools that amplify you and just
47:16 you know get better and better and
47:17 better at that um learn from and with
47:21 others Learn out Loud be a leader let
47:25 other people lead and teach you
47:31 um AI isn't replacing your work it's
47:34 accelerating what's
47:36 possible this one's a bit of a [ __ ] up
47:39 one because AI is going to replace the
47:43 tasks that a lot of people do and that
47:45 is in turn going to cost a lot of people
47:47 their
47:49 jobs and those displaced people will
47:52 have access to those tools that can take
47:55 their ideas and amplify them and accept
47:57 accelerate what's possible for them if
48:00 you learn this [ __ ] within your company
48:03 your chances of surviving a layoff round
48:05 are higher than if you're not using
48:07 these tools right because if AI is going
48:09 to cause disruption who's management
48:12 going to keep the ones that understand
48:14 Ai and it's probably not going to be
48:17 management which is completely [ __ ]
48:21 up and then Embrace collaborative
48:24 ecosystems where humans and AI learn
48:26 create and Lead together right this so
48:30 I've got this book called collective
48:31 intelligence and what it's about is the
48:33 reason AI is so powerful is it's trained
48:36 on the collective intelligence of people
48:38 so if you take the tool of generative AI
48:42 that is collective intelligence in
48:44 technology form and then you combine
48:46 that with the collective intelligence of
48:48 groups of smart people working nimbly
48:51 with AI it it just amplifies that even
48:54 further all right so so that's the big
48:57 deal there and then your goal in this
48:58 fifth pillar is to you know build your
49:01 own toolkit figure out what works what
49:03 doesn't keep the stuff that works keep
49:05 learning and exploring and just replace
49:08 out stuff as as it ages out which is
49:10 going to happen really
49:12 quick so that's it that is the AI
49:15 Readiness
49:17 framework so I hope you dig it all right
49:21 and then uh the AI Readiness project uh
49:23 we have a podcast it's Wednesdays at 4
49:26 except this week we're doing it Thursday
49:29 at like one because I I'm giving this
49:32 talk actually um so I can't do it and
49:35 then um and then are you ready for
49:38 ai.com is the uh we're we're taking this
49:42 framework this is being um converted
49:45 into a training program so if you want
49:47 to sign up for that and get early access
49:49 to that when it comes out go to are you
49:52 readyfor ai.com good Lord that was a lot
49:58 what do you think what do you think
50:07 people oh
50:12 [Music]
50:13 man forever hooked love it a lot says
50:18 violin
50:20 wash yeah I'm excited about this because
50:23 it's very nice and your graphics are
50:25 fire thank you Silver Fox I actually
50:27 show you how I made the graphics why
50:28 don't we go do that I'll go I'll go show
50:30 you how we do that
50:35 um the the thing I'm excited about with
50:38 it is and the training that that we're
50:40 putting together is very meaty like
50:43 there's a lot in
50:44 it um and there's a part of me that's
50:47 like ah you know is it too much and then
50:50 what I realize is no here's
50:54 why it's it's easy enough to to say oh
50:57 go play with AI I say it every night
50:59 right go play with
51:01 AI a lot of people don't know what that
51:03 actually means does does that mean play
51:06 with chat GPT well yeah does it mean
51:09 this other thing over here yeah does it
51:10 mean this yeah it means all of it
51:14 right what doing a program like the AI
51:17 Readiness project
51:20 does
51:22 is force you down rabbit holes you
51:25 wouldn't instinctively go down
51:28 so maybe you're super creative and you
51:29 get to that second pillar which is about
51:32 AI in business and you're like oh God
51:34 that sounds awful yeah it it it will and
51:37 then you get in there and start playing
51:39 with it and you're like oh wait a minute
51:41 I could actually apply this over here
51:42 this other part of my life and and then
51:44 and then if you're really into business
51:46 and you see that creative one you're
51:48 like oh I'm not creative that's not
51:51 me and then you get into it and you're
51:54 like oh no I'm actually kind of good at
51:56 this and I kind of enjoy it right that's
51:59 the whole intent is to give people as
52:01 broad a base as possible to explore
52:05 within and then you know get up to speed
52:09 and and get going the the one thing that
52:11 I want to add to the end of this
52:13 presentation
52:17 is this is never
52:19 done it it's my contention that for the
52:23 next 10 years at least
52:29 this transformative
52:31 chaos will be the
52:33 reality that only the people that are
52:36 adaptive and curious and ambitious and
52:39 are
52:41 exploring and are figuring it
52:43 out are going to be the ones that truly
52:46 succeed in this
52:48 because I was talking to to Ann Murphy
52:50 about this today we were talking about
52:52 the framework
52:55 and you know she's been she's been
52:58 exploring all this stuff and leading
53:00 community and all that for you know
53:02 about the same time I have for like two
53:05 years and I said you know imagine if a
53:07 year ago you were like okay I got all
53:09 these tools figured out and I'm good I'm
53:11 I'm just gonna lock it down and I'm GNA
53:13 do my um my fundraising business using
53:16 all these you know um zappier
53:20 automations that I've made I'm just
53:22 going to lock it down I said imagine if
53:25 you just stopped EXP exporing back then
53:28 because you had it all figured
53:30 out and now Manis comes along and and
53:33 because you're not paying attention to
53:35 it because you have it all figured out
53:36 you you don't even know what Manis is
53:39 and if you don't know what Manis is
53:40 Manis is a truly autonomous agent that
53:43 will go off and do work for you at a at
53:46 a at just a remarkable it'll go off for
53:48 like 15 20 30 minutes looking at
53:52 websites writing code building building
53:55 you a website building you
53:57 reports just goes off and does it you
53:59 give it a goal and it's just
54:01 off well if you kind of lock [ __ ] down
54:04 here you're going to miss stuff like
54:05 that coming and that kind of stuff could
54:07 come along and completely upend her
54:10 business if she just locked it down then
54:12 so this this AI Readiness is a
54:15 mindset and the purpose of the program
54:18 being so broad is so that you look at as
54:21 many different lenses as possible and
54:23 then just [ __ ] turn on the Curiosity
54:26 that's it that's that's it I see a typo
54:30 play first Tinker boldly on the journey
54:34 thank you
54:36 wait which one was
54:39 it journey to AI
54:42 Readiness play first Tinker boldly break
54:45 things with
54:48 curiosity fix play first
55:02 Vicki I don't see a typo am I is this am
55:05 I having an add
55:07 moment well what do you think Kyle of
55:09 course you're having an add
55:11 [Laughter]
55:16 moment play
55:19 first Tinker
55:21 boldly oh baly
55:28 hey add how you doing how you doing
55:31 man Tinker
55:37 baly I'm too close to the content way
55:40 too close to the content
55:42 [Laughter]
55:43 apparently that's awesome um all right
55:47 since I'm over here let's let's flip
55:49 over to Mid
55:52 Journey um and let me show you how I how
55:55 I did all these Graphics all right let
55:58 me get this going anybody have any
56:01 questions it takes a village it really
56:03 does thank thank you for catching that
56:05 one um the Tekken tools change so
56:09 frequency will the training be live and
56:12 ongoing or pre-recorded courses how do
56:15 we sign up uh is it a membership it's
56:18 it's a one-time fee Stacy um it's if you
56:21 go to are are you ready for ai.com so
56:25 letter r you
56:27 ready number for AI are you ready for
56:30 ai.com um and just sign up there
56:36 um we tried really hard so
56:40 so a lot of the the content that was
56:43 shared during AI Festivus is used as
56:46 kind of example content of the concepts
56:49 that we're teaching we worked really
56:51 hard to break the content up in such a
56:54 way and create the training in such a
56:56 way that it's Evergreen it shouldn't
56:58 need to be updated
57:01 now um it's also designed in such a way
57:04 that we can swap out the video content
57:06 modules as required so if things kind of
57:09 age out and it's not appropriate to have
57:11 them in there we'll likely swap them out
57:13 but the training itself should be pretty
57:15 Evergreen yeah are you ready for ai.com
57:18 are you ready for ai.com yep that's it
57:21 pre-recorded go at your own paast that's
57:23 exactly
57:24 it okay um
57:28 okay so here's a bunch of stuff that
57:32 I've been working on today this is all
57:37 um you know lots and lots and lots and
57:40 lots and lots and lots of pictures um
57:43 here here's my cool pictures there's the
57:44 cool me wait we get we get to some
57:47 pretty pretty bad ones here retesh
57:49 you'll appreciate these these are like
57:54 my there's something about my my face
57:57 shape that that a generative AI just
58:00 thinks like I'm a tubby a tubby
58:09 boy so um so
58:13 so your your ego if you're gonna do
58:15 anything with yourself in it you gotta
58:17 you gotta have a you gotta have a a
58:20 strong
58:22 ego when when these pictures first came
58:25 out I'm like no I'm I'm hipper than that
58:28 but apparently I'm not because they're
58:29 pretty
58:35 consistent oh
58:38 man um so here's some other ones okay so
58:42 so lots and lots of
58:44 images so here's how I got to
58:47 these so if you go to the personalized
58:50 tab in mid Journey there's these thing
58:52 called mood boards and you can right
58:53 here you can create a mood board let the
58:57 interface a little bigger for
59:00 you you can create profiles which are
59:03 just basically here's pictures that I
59:05 like and it'll make things that
59:06 generally look like what you like but
59:08 you can create a mood board which your
59:10 very specific images and you can they're
59:13 easy to make you can upload images of
59:16 your own like I did some let me see can
59:19 I click on this yeah like here's some
59:22 these are photographs that I took with
59:23 an actual
59:25 camera and then edited in
59:29 aperture um and then I made a mood board
59:31 out of these so I can use this mood
59:33 board and make images where the sky the
59:36 skies are always these cool dramatic
59:39 looking
59:40 Skies
59:42 um so one of the mood boards that we
59:45 made
59:47 is a bunch of images that Vicky Baptist
59:51 made which were inspired by some images
59:54 that Marisol made for
59:58 for what was it for she leads Ai and for
1:00:01 some other things I think that's right
1:00:03 isn't that right Vicky and so I took
1:00:06 some of the some of the images that
1:00:07 Vicki made that I really liked and I put
1:00:09 them in my own mood board so so I've got
1:00:11 this mood board it doesn't have that
1:00:12 many images in it right it's just a
1:00:14 handful of images but it's got like cool
1:00:17 treatment of faces and it's got these
1:00:19 cool geometric
1:00:24 shapes I uploaded all the materials for
1:00:27 Saturday's
1:00:28 session on model architectures today
1:00:31 very cool yes you got it great and then
1:00:34 the way you do this is you go back
1:00:38 here so I can just say use mood board
1:00:41 and when I say that it puts this long
1:00:43 ass
1:00:44 code into the into the
1:00:49 prompt and then so now that that's in
1:00:53 there I can go back out to create
1:00:56 and I'll just scroll all the way up to
1:00:58 the top here so you can see what's going
1:01:05 on so a lot of times what I'll do is
1:01:08 I'll just do a concept like I'll do AI
1:01:15 Readiness and then
1:01:18 d-p stands for D- profile and then I
1:01:21 guess m equals mood board and then
1:01:23 there's this big long code now some
1:01:26 weird [ __ ] happens here but let me let
1:01:28 me show you I'll go AI
1:01:29 Readiness and then I'm going to go style
1:01:33 anywhere between 50 and a
1:01:36 th um if you put it at zero it tends not
1:01:39 to use the mood board so that can be
1:01:41 really frustrating so generally what
1:01:43 I'll do is I'll set it at
1:01:45 50 and then the aspect ratio that I want
1:01:49 so in this case I wanted 16 by9 for my
1:01:51 slides and then you say
1:01:56 make it and it'll make now it's going to
1:01:58 make four
1:02:00 Images it's going to interpret AI
1:02:02 Readiness using that mood board with a
1:02:05 style weight of
1:02:08 50 now I want to show you a couple of
1:02:13 weird things about mid
1:02:16 Journey so those are kind of cool they
1:02:18 they look like AI Readiness in a
1:02:20 neighborhood right like I didn't have to
1:02:22 do [ __ ] I just picked the mood board and
1:02:25 out came those images that's kind of
1:02:26 cool now in in mid Journey if you click
1:02:29 on this text that that is the prompt it
1:02:32 will pre-populate your prompt and if you
1:02:34 click on this thing that says mood board
1:02:36 AI Readiness it will
1:02:39 add-- profile and this shorter
1:02:43 code so when I went to to personalize
1:02:47 and click on use the mood board it gives
1:02:48 me the big long
1:02:50 number how it interprets it over
1:02:54 here is with the name of the mood board
1:02:58 and then when you reuse it it does this
1:03:01 shortened
1:03:04 code and it uses the fullword profile
1:03:07 instead of just
1:03:08 d-p um that is confusing as [ __ ] they
1:03:11 need to fix that it should just use the
1:03:13 name of the mood board but whatever
1:03:17 um this is all remnants
1:03:20 from mid Journey started as a as a
1:03:23 Discord server where you could make IM
1:03:26 in Discord and you had to use command
1:03:28 line commands and so it is somewhere in
1:03:31 between having a good user interface and
1:03:34 still having shitty ass Doss
1:03:39 commands and Engineers love the commands
1:03:42 but human beings
1:03:44 don't so not that Engineers are not
1:03:47 human beings don't get me
1:03:51 wrong they can't use the name of the
1:03:53 mood board it has to be unique yeah I I
1:03:56 I get it but it's but it's still it's
1:03:59 three it's three different from a user
1:04:01 standpoint it's three different things
1:04:03 they could absolutely Vicky if I clicked
1:04:06 on mood board AI Readiness they could
1:04:08 put mood board AI Readiness here and
1:04:10 have this code in the background right
1:04:13 like this is solvable with
1:04:17 technology um okay so what I'll often do
1:04:20 is I'll do one at 50 then I'll do one at
1:04:23 500 somewhere in the 500 range and and
1:04:26 then I'll do one at a thousand so I'm
1:04:28 going to do AI Readiness mood board
1:04:30 change that to a
1:04:32 th and hit that and then I'll just kind
1:04:35 of like look at them and say you know
1:04:38 which one of these is in the
1:04:39 neighborhood of what I'm looking for
1:04:41 then it wouldn't be janky AI I know
1:04:43 exactly exactly exactly exactly
1:04:48 [Music]
1:04:58 you know it's funny and and it's like
1:05:00 like sometimes the colors
1:05:04 are slightly off like that one is this
1:05:07 really bright sky
1:05:10 blue but the ones I have in the
1:05:12 presentation are more of a green like
1:05:14 this one's a little more green so you
1:05:16 just kind of just keep making [ __ ] until
1:05:18 you see [ __ ] that you like and then if I
1:05:20 want to add words into the slide I could
1:05:24 do AI readiness mood board but I could
1:05:27 say AI
1:05:29 Readiness with a large sign that
1:05:34 says AI
1:05:41 Readiness and I'll do like 500 on that
1:05:48 one do you use face swap or a trained
1:05:51 model of yourself character ref I have
1:05:54 difficulty getting an exact likeness for
1:05:56 multiple images I use character refs but
1:06:00 you have
1:06:01 to you have to kind of understand
1:06:04 character waiting um so generally it
1:06:07 works like
1:06:09 this I think character waiting is Zer to
1:06:12 100 if someone can confirm that I think
1:06:14 it's zero to
1:06:16 100 um but anyway here so here's these
1:06:20 images that now have ai Readiness in
1:06:22 them a lot of times it'll misspell
1:06:24 things but you can fix that
1:06:26 but so now I get words in it because I I
1:06:28 put in quote marks AI Readiness right so
1:06:32 AI Readiness is the concept and then in
1:06:34 quote marks AI Readiness is the big sign
1:06:36 with AI Readiness on it cool
1:06:39 right um okay so if I want to add a face
1:06:43 in let's we'll go add in my big fat
1:06:46 face
1:06:49 um okay here's here's corporate
1:06:53 corporate fat me so I'll put I'll put
1:06:56 character reference um
1:07:01 here and then if I do let's go back out
1:07:05 and we'll do
1:07:07 um we'll do the same one AI Readiness
1:07:10 with a large sign that says AI Readiness
1:07:12 but we'll have this character in there
1:07:14 I'll just leave this as a default we'll
1:07:17 do I guess we'll
1:07:18 do I'll do stylization of a 100 now this
1:07:23 should give me a big set of tubby Kyle
1:07:26 [Laughter]
1:07:31 and then if I do that same prompt oh
1:07:34 wait I didn't I didn't put the uh the
1:07:36 mood board in hang on a sec so that
1:07:39 thing with the mood board with tubby
1:07:43 Kyle should give me tubby Kyle with the
1:07:46 right colors see here's tubby Kyle
1:07:49 without the moodboard and it just does
1:07:51 that kind of generic AI [ __ ] images
1:07:55 you know like that the you
1:07:59 know the the the B the B film version of
1:08:03 The
1:08:05 Matrix but now here's the ones where I
1:08:08 did use the um mood board and so so
1:08:11 there have starting to get the style
1:08:13 right but it's still tubby Kyle so what
1:08:15 you do is this I'll go uh that tubby
1:08:22 Kyle and mood board
1:08:26 and then I'm going to do dash dash
1:08:29 CW and which stands for character weight
1:08:33 and the way this works is if you do it a
1:08:36 character weight of a
1:08:38 100 it will mat it'll try to match that
1:08:41 picture exactly so I'll do one of a
1:08:45 100 I think the default for character
1:08:48 weight is 60 or 70 so the reason these
1:08:51 things are all wearing the same shirt
1:08:54 and you know I mostly look the same and
1:08:57 it's sort of made me kind of the same is
1:08:59 because it's 70 so there's
1:09:02 100 and then I'll do the same thing AI
1:09:06 Readiness um tubby
1:09:11 Kyle profile and here I'll go dash
1:09:15 dash
1:09:17 CW um space
1:09:20 one what a lower character weight does
1:09:23 is it'll basically just keep your face
1:09:26 and it'll change everything else it'll
1:09:27 change the hair it'll change the outfit
1:09:29 so I'm going to do a character weight of
1:09:31 one
1:09:33 here and then I'll do one of I'll do one
1:09:36 at like
1:09:39 30 dash
1:09:43 dash
1:09:48 CW 30
1:09:58 and so like here it completely covered
1:10:00 up my face here it's got a little bit of
1:10:02 my hair a little bit of my chin that
1:10:05 kind of looks like
1:10:08 me yeah it looks it looks disturbingly
1:10:11 like
1:10:14 me like that one's cool look at that one
1:10:18 I'm like creepy Kyle hiding behind
1:10:24 [ __ ] I'm I'm watching
1:10:29 you um and then what I'll do is I'll
1:10:31 mess around with these so this one's
1:10:33 like a character weight of 30 so it'll
1:10:36 keep my face and most of my hair but
1:10:37 it'll probably switch up my outfit so
1:10:40 I'll keep it at that so I'll go here's
1:10:42 the prompt here's character weight of 30
1:10:44 here's the mood board here's me oops
1:10:47 here's me dang
1:10:49 it why is it not adding it I should be
1:10:52 able to just click on
1:10:54 this why is it not doing that maybe I
1:10:58 need to be out here yeah there you go
1:11:01 okay and then I'll go like um style of
1:11:04 350 the other thing you can do is you
1:11:07 can do
1:11:08 d-r Space 4 and R stands for repeat and
1:11:12 so this will make four sets of four
1:11:17 images and then I'll do the same thing
1:11:20 AI Readiness my
1:11:23 image um mood board and then I'm going
1:11:26 to bump this up to like
1:11:27 750 and then I'll
1:11:30 do um D-
1:11:33 cw30 Das
1:11:36 dhr4
1:11:38 oops
1:11:43 R4 and so now I got a bunch of images
1:11:45 being
1:11:47 generated and so the the thing is like
1:11:50 if it makes shitty images like if it
1:11:53 makes you know the 400 50 pound version
1:11:56 of you and you're like I don't like that
1:11:58 don't quit just keep messing with just
1:12:01 keep messing with it it's AI it'll it'll
1:12:04 just do weird [ __ ] sometimes like that
1:12:08 one doesn't really look like me but it's
1:12:10 kind of cool I kind of like the the
1:12:13 layout of
1:12:15 it that one's sort of like
1:12:18 me there's there I am on a billboard
1:12:21 nice
1:12:26 you know what I like about this is it's
1:12:29 got enough [ __ ] going on over my face
1:12:31 that even though it doesn't really look
1:12:33 like me it doesn't really matter it's
1:12:35 it's more stylized I like
1:12:39 that here's a guy talking with his hands
1:12:42 that's very much me and I almost have
1:12:44 the right amount of fingers and they're
1:12:46 almost the right
1:12:49 shape and look here's one where I look
1:12:52 kind of goodlook I don't look too tubby
1:12:54 I look like I work out a little bit all
1:12:56 right I'll go with
1:12:58 that right I mean it's [ __ ] AI do
1:13:02 what you want it don't [ __ ]
1:13:04 matter just explore like this gets back
1:13:07 to AI Readiness just explore just start
1:13:10 figuring this [ __ ]
1:13:12 out like there it didn't put me in at
1:13:15 all like there's one same prompt I'm not
1:13:17 in there at all the words are in
1:13:24 there so here let's let's let's take
1:13:26 this let's go play with this one so we
1:13:29 we've got this one it didn't put me in
1:13:31 there but it has AI Readiness but it's
1:13:32 got an extra eye so let's go go in here
1:13:36 we're going to go to the editor so now
1:13:38 I'm going to
1:13:42 erase I'm going to erase that and I'm
1:13:45 just going to put in quote marks AI
1:14:02 I think that's making it
1:14:12 now all right so one of them got nothing
1:14:16 one of them got AI one of them got AI
1:14:19 one of them got AI so pick the one we
1:14:21 like best that one now I'm going to go
1:14:23 back into the editor
1:14:30 and I'm going to
1:14:33 put I'm
1:14:35 GNA erase out a bunch of [ __ ] there and
1:14:39 I'm G to
1:14:41 say man
1:14:45 wearing VR
1:14:49 goggles looking
1:14:53 left um and I've got my character
1:14:57 reference in here right so I've got my
1:14:59 picture in here I'm going to submit that
1:15:01 I'm going to see if I can get it to
1:15:02 stick my face in
1:15:09 [Music]
1:15:11 there and I got nothing I got nothing
1:15:18 honey let's see
1:15:26 the other way I could do it is I
1:15:31 could I think can I add if I go to the
1:15:37 editor if I go
1:15:44 edit um go
1:15:50 edit
1:15:52 okay I say upload an image
1:15:59 let me go look for
1:16:07 0741 all
1:16:08 right so there's a picture of me so I
1:16:11 can flip this thing
1:16:14 over let's
1:16:16 see
1:16:19 oops um
1:16:23 size hang on a sec I gotta
1:16:27 go boom
1:16:29 boom
1:16:34 edit
1:16:39 0741 okay there's there's my big fat
1:16:42 head now I can I can say I want a 16 by9
1:16:45 image and then I can say resize and so I
1:16:49 can put my big fat head in
1:16:53 there you know he really shouldn't be
1:16:55 fat shaming himself that's really
1:16:59 inappropriate he looks just
1:17:02 fine uh why can I not resize this I
1:17:06 don't know well whatever so there's me
1:17:08 now I can go in with my little erase
1:17:09 tool and I can erase parts of this image
1:17:13 so I just have some head in
1:17:17 there all right and so now what I can do
1:17:21 is I can put in the
1:17:23 prompt let me go back back out to create
1:17:26 let me
1:17:28 grab there's my mood
1:17:32 board go back into edit and then I can
1:17:35 say oh crap it didn't keep my edit hang
1:17:39 on I think it will when I bring the
1:17:41 image back in
1:17:45 actually yeah it did okay so I can do I
1:17:48 can do um background of the
1:17:53 future and then I can do I don't know
1:17:58 500 and I can do submit
1:18:01 edit and so what it's going to do now is
1:18:04 it's going to give me four
1:18:06 images that fill in the whole background
1:18:09 but leave me in there as is
1:18:27 look I got big long big super long
1:18:30 arms I think I think that one's
1:18:34 good and then I can upscale this to the
1:18:37 gallery and now I have a completely
1:18:42 usable picture of me on a bench with my
1:18:46 boyfriend that's
1:18:52 awesome your arm is super long I know
1:18:54 wasn't that crazy
1:18:55 [Laughter]
1:18:58 oh
1:19:05 [Music]
1:19:15 man skipped a few leg days yeah I know
1:19:19 my little skinny legs
1:19:20 here hang on it's only 16% let's let
1:19:24 this thing let's let this thing upscale
1:19:26 and then we'll go look at the the beauty
1:19:29 that mid Journey created for me but
1:19:31 there's that that way that I just showed
1:19:33 you I think it was Stacy was asking do
1:19:35 you use face swap yeah that's one where
1:19:38 I'm actually importing an image and then
1:19:40 I'm building the whole image around the
1:19:43 exact
1:19:44 face what that won't do is change the
1:19:46 angle of the face or the expression
1:19:48 that's where you get around with with
1:19:50 the character
1:19:52 weights your boy BFF DJ lead yeah
1:19:56 exactly why is this taking so long to
1:20:00 scale all right I got to get going my
1:20:04 eye is uh my eye is
1:20:11 scratchy oh manam
1:20:22 [Music]
1:20:34 [Laughter]
1:20:37 94% skinny little
1:20:43 legs oh nice I like it and yeah that is
1:20:47 a very long arm isn't
1:20:49 [Laughter]
1:20:52 it oh good lord so anyway that's how I
1:20:56 made all them them images you can just
1:20:59 start cranking stuff out mood boards are
1:21:01 amazing if you've not played with mood
1:21:03 boards it is worth running down the
1:21:04 rabbit
1:21:08 [Music]
1:21:17 hole all right anyone have any questions
