23:55 multimodal but it's G to be but it's
23:57 not but it's kind of a different thing

24:56 convincing dialogue for a screenplay or
24:59 or a convincing scene of a screenplay it
25:01 just it would either truncate it or make

25:07 shitty and all of a sudden this thing
25:10 wrote a great scene from an outline that
25:12 it wrote inspired by
25:20 mine and then what hit me
25:25 was even in its hobbled shitty ass non-
25:30 multimodal
25:36 form it had
25:39 exceeded my ability to know what the

25:51 existential about that there's something

41:42 off because I knew I in my life time I
41:44 probably wouldn't see another one of
41:46 those and in then in the mid 90s the
41:49 worldwide web came along and I stumbled
41:51 upon that piece of
41:53 magic math magical and I thought
41:58 I think this is one of those I'm the
42:00 luckiest man on
42:02 Earth and I [ __ ] went all
42:06 in because if you're lucky enough to to
42:10 notice that this thing showed up in the
42:12 world that's going to change
42:18 everything [ __ ] get on the
42:22 train right like why would you not
42:27 and why not is because people are like
42:29 well that's not really the future it's
42:31 probably shitty nobody's got connection
42:33 to the internet I this HTML thing what
42:35 is a web page what's a hyperlink nobody
42:41 cares but if you actually sort of think
42:43 about what it
42:45 did you click on a hyperlink and I
42:49 instantly transport from a server here
42:54 in New York to a server there in
42:56 California to a server there in
43:00 Paris well you just collapsed distance
43:04 and you just collapsed

43:17 here you recognize that there is a
43:21 technology that in this case doesn't
43:24 just collapse time it actually makes
43:26 computers behave differently than
43:28 they've ever behaved before in the
43:30 history of mankind they're not just
43:33 efficiency engines they are generative
43:35 tools that can augment and amplify our
43:38 Humanity what I excuse me what they can

43:46 what why would I not be in the middle of
43:49 that oh my God HTML was a wormhole first

43:54 work on the lab my question is why you
43:57 going out of your way to educate us
43:59 about AI what are you trying to achieve

44:23 mid90s I started a group called the
44:25 worldwide web artist Consortium

44:36 was it was it was amazingly
44:40 powerful
44:42 um and so part of
44:46 its what I learned doing that is this
44:50 this is another thing and
44:51 I I think the meeting tonight uh um
44:55 validated this
45:03 that in in the early days of the
45:05 worldwide
45:07 web you got to
45:10 understand nobody knew
45:13 anything people didn't know what web
45:15 servers were people didn't know what
45:17 HTML was people didn't know what a web
45:21 browser was they didn't know what
45:23 rendering HTML in a browser meant
45:27 the center tag didn't apply to
45:31 images what you couldn't Center an image
45:35 in early
45:36 HTML you had to physically move it over
45:39 by stacking little invisible images in
45:41 front of
45:44 it
45:46 so in the early days the only people
45:49 that can
45:51 possibly participate are
45:54 Geeks and Hyper curious people
45:58 and and you can only learn so much and
46:00 so by getting into a
46:02 community you can literally go what did
46:05 you learn this week uh you could stack
46:09 images to slide an image over oh that's
46:11 cool okay note to self make slide the

46:20 an HTML tag inside an HTML tag it's
46:23 nested and it seems to work

49:35 typewriters with screens could could be
49:38 a form of self-expression and were amaz
49:41 amazingly gratifying and we're going to
49:44 change everything about like how people
49:46 made documents and how people did
49:50 stuff and then I I remember going to the
49:53 like the York mall in York Pennsylvania
49:56 and going to like the magazine store and
49:58 seeing Steve Jobs and Bill Gates on the
50:00 covers of
50:02 magazines and just feeling like really
50:04 sad
50:06 like I wasn't there like I wasn't in
50:09 paloalto I wasn't they were they were
50:12 like 10 years older than
50:15 me and I was just a user of the
50:19 PC I wasn't inventing it I wasn't I
50:22 didn't know what they were they were
50:24 just these mysterious boxes to me but I
50:26 knew they were
50:29 important and I got really sad for a lot
50:31 of years I was sad for a lot of years
50:34 that that I was just too young to be at
50:36 the ground level of of a change like

54:50 battle of what we were going to watch so

55:01 interesting I know yeah she's absolutely
55:04 be yep no he's handsome too right that
55:08 sort of thing so I'm sitting there with
55:10 my
55:11 computer playing with chat GPT and I
55:14 remember someone on Twitter or wherever
55:17 said chat GPT is good at coding and I
55:20 thought oh cool like I've always like
55:22 I've always admired code I
55:24 love like product development I love
55:28 coming up with software ideas I
55:30 understand how programming works I'm
55:31 just not good at
55:33 it but I but I know how it
55:37 works and I know I know like if you can
55:40 stitch this thing together with that
55:41 thing then cool but in order to do that
55:43 you got to understand apis and and code
55:46 and brackets and syntax that's [ __ ]
55:50 exhausting so I said hey chat GPT write
55:52 me some python code that takes input
55:55 from a user and process is
55:57 it like it was it's a horrible prompt
56:02 and out came some python
56:05 code and I was like holy [ __ ] that's
56:08 cool and then I had this moment of
56:12 panic I had this moment of
56:17 like and the moment of panic
56:20 was I'm the founder and CEO of a
56:23 technology company of a of an automated
56:29 patented video storytelling
56:33 platform and the Panic that set in when
56:35 I saw that
56:37 code was I don't know how to run python
56:43 code which is humiliating you can't
56:46 admit that and own a tech
56:50 company and historically what you would
56:53 have to do at that moment is one of two
56:56 things
56:57 you would have to call up a friend of
56:59 yours if you had any that does know
57:02 about code and you'd have to go uh Steve
57:06 uh how do you run python
57:08 code Mr big shot CEO doesn't know how to
57:12 run Python and you have to deal with
57:14 that or you have to go to [ __ ]
57:17 Google how do you run python code and
57:20 then there's like 47 [ __ ] sites and
57:22 23 of them are sales funnels for some
57:25 programming
57:27 course they're trying to sell you and

57:38 point at which I would get discouraged

57:49 um so so what ended up happening was I
57:52 said to chat GPT I don't know how to run
57:54 python code no problem here's
57:57 open up the terminal run this command
57:59 line run that oh

58:04 terminal that sounds like work can I
58:06 just run this in a website oh sure
58:07 here's five so I literally just clicked
58:10 on the first website which was
58:14 repet and it said copy and paste this
58:17 code into repet and hit the play button
58:19 I was like oh this is easy copy paste
58:21 Play error
58:24 [ __ ] I said it gave me an ER error and I
58:27 copied and pasted the error and put it
58:28 in chat GPT it said oh you don't have
58:30 this Library
58:31 installed I was like okay how do you
58:35 install the library not a problem in the
58:38 lower leftand corner you click on this
58:40 button and then in the upper right hand
58:42 corner you search for that Library name
58:44 and then you hit
58:45 install wait it knows
58:47 that click h Huh run boom it ran holy

58:57 I've got a functional piece of python
58:58 code here within 90 minutes I had
59:02 written a fully functional python
59:04 application that was making API calls to
59:07 open AI taking user input and generating
59:10 five pieces of social media content
59:13 within 90 minutes I've never written a
59:15 line of python in my
59:18 life that's the
59:21 moment that I knew the world had just
59:24 changed but nobody knew it
59:27 yet
59:31 right this isn't copying and pasting
59:34 code from someone else's code base this
59:36 is writing code it's generating G the G

59:44 GPT I don't have to learn to code this
59:47 thing can code for me
59:49 now is the code any good back then it
59:52 wasn't if you ask Pate it's still not
59:55 good is that always going to be the case
59:58 nope it's gotten way better in the past

1:00:46 their system to talk to
1:00:49 applications and I assume open AI is g
1:00:53 to going to at least announce operators
1:00:56 on autonomous agents in the next you
1:00:58 know two or three days

1:01:04 um but I I absolutely think that agents
1:01:07 are the next big thing but here's what
1:01:09 I'm looking for an agents okay

1:26:53 different communities to just
