teenagers fall in 0:42 [Applause] 0:44 love the way we Dan was 0:48 not but more long 0:51 [Music] 0:52 Embrace we held to each 0:56 other and Flo there in space 1:00 [Music] 1:02 I sh to kiss you while the whole world 1:06 could 1:07 see so 1:09 shinging said everything to 1:13 [Applause] 1:15 me and all the poor old old FKS they 1:20 thought we' lost our 1:23 minds they could not make heads or tals 1:27 of the Young Folks funny rhymes 1:33 you and 1:35 I words and we all 1:39 say 1:46 old 1:48 [Music] 1:58 d w 2:01 [Music] 2:02 happy 4th of July people 2:06 [Music] 2:23 [Music] 2:38 so I went to the grocery 2:40 store that sounds like a bad start of a 2:44 the start of a bad standup routine hey 2:47 folks how's it 2:48 going Kyle Shannon here so I went to the 2:51 grocery 2:57 store anyway I went to the grocery store 3:00 [Music] 3:11 and I bought a handful of 3:14 [Music] 3:17 things and I don't know if you know this 3:19 but we live in a world now where you buy 3:21 like a bag of pretzels and a gallon of 3:25 milk and it's like $38 3:31 but um but I I got a handful of 3:35 things and uh we were talking about it 3:38 being Fourth of July cuz this poor woman 3:40 had to 3:42 work and she rang me up and my total was 3:48 1776 she goes 3:51 oh she goes you should go play the 3:55 lottery so I had a I had a grocery bill 3:58 of $17.76 4:00 since on the 4th of July I thought that 4:02 was pretty cool 4:05 [Music] 4:14 [Music] 4:27 [Music] 4:37 [Music] 4:49 [Music] 4:52 what's everybody 4:53 doing serendipitous I know it was uh 4:56 there's some synchronicity in the world 4:57 today apparently 5:04 [Music] 5:19 uh oh very nice whoever just sent that 5:21 that was very nice forever hooked sent 5:23 the mystery firework love it 5:26 beautiful I got thunder and fireworks 5:29 not nice very nice I don't know I'll put 5:32 I'll open my window 5:34 here um it's still light here so we 5:38 probably won't get Thunder Boomers oh 5:40 it's nice and cool out that's a nice 5:41 breeze coming in a nice breeze coming in 5:45 [Music] 5:49 people you and I here all 5:52 [Music] 5:55 alone Sunday morning here at home 6:00 Sky's blue and the cough is strong it's 6:08 true then I open my eyes to a dream 6:12 realized in front of 6:16 me and I haven't got a clue what in the 6:20 world is happening to 6:24 me think I think I'm 6:28 happy like the first day from a vacation 6:32 happy got to get a little rest and 6:35 relaxation it's a Brisk 108 where I'm at 6:38 Danielle where are 6:39 [Music] 6:48 you Source Camp you should jump into the 6:50 live what happened from my RO rooftop I 6:53 can see about 50 different Fireworks 6:55 shows all over Dallas oh that's cool 6:59 [Music] 7:04 watching the fireworks and watching the 7:07 AI learning lab you don't you really 7:09 don't have to be here no nothing's going 7:11 to happen tonight but you know this is 7:14 this is what we don't know about uh the 7:16 AI learning lab is we just don't 7:18 know by the way somebody last night was 7:22 like you got to get last night's episode 7:24 up 7:26 quick I I thought last night's episode 7:29 was an absolute dumpster fire useless 7:32 dumpster fire but 7:35 apparently but all of my all of the back 7:38 recordings of these things are up on the 7:40 YouTube 7:41 channel that's what I did 7:43 [Music] 7:52 today I have to be here to defend myself 7:55 if for no other reason Mr it is watching 7:58 a soccer game very nice I watched a uh a 8:03 third round Wimbleton match with with uh 8:06 Ben Shelton have you seen that kid he's 8:09 amazing really entertaining it went down 8:12 to the fifth set down to a tiebreaker in 8:14 the fifth set and it was tied 77 in the 8:18 tiebreaker of a 10-point tiebreaker it 8:21 was tied 77 and then like three points 8:24 went to Ben Shelton and he won 8:26 unbelievable he was playing like an 8:28 unseated like more than 100 seed player 8:32 that almost took him 8:34 out but you know the thing about 8:39 tennis at that level when you're playing 8:42 at like Wimbleton level M it ain't about 8:45 the skills anymore it's it's all about 8:48 the head game 8:51 [Music] 9:03 oh man Argentina Ecuador very 9:09 nice I should probably check your bio 9:12 why what were you asking what are my 9:14 qualifications oh hey do you get paid 9:16 for going live not really um sometimes 9:20 people give me gifts and if they give me 9:22 gifts like that one um they pay for 9:26 those and then some percentage of that 9:28 comes to me um but I would say if I were 9:31 to average the time I've put in for the 9:33 money I get it's probably in the 9:35 neighborhood of 75 cents an hour maybe 9:38 50 cents an 9:40 hour so not really 9:48 [Music] 10:18 all 10:20 right 10:21 um what would you use to stitch four 10:25 Runway ml vids together can't remember 10:31 well if you just want to do them as as 10:33 jump Cuts you could just do it right in 10:35 QuickTime 10:37 Player um and cuz you can open a clip 10:40 and then you can just say add to the end 10:42 of the clip but if you want to do 10:44 anything resembling editing like a cross 10:46 fade or anything like that then just do 10:48 it in um iMovie if you're on a Mac if 10:51 you're on a PC I don't [ __ ] I don't 10:52 know I don't [ __ ] know I I I ain't 10:55 got nothing for you on PC cuz I'm a Mac 10:57 boy I'm an apple Fanboy from way back 11:01 when pinkies out 11:07 everyone um yeah I don't know uh just a 11:10 simple video 11:12 editor you can use [ __ ] like Premiere 11:15 Pro 11:16 but that's Overkill if you just want to 11:18 stitch some [ __ ] together um peasant 11:22 wages are not we love you bro thank you 11:24 madcap I really appreciate that yeah I 11:26 mean listen you know I I I figure at 11:30 some 11:32 point you know everything everything 11:34 will will work out this isn't about this 11:38 isn't about money if this were about 11:40 money I'd be in a manini selling 11:42 Madagascar vanilla 11:44 beans which you 11:47 know I know that listen don't get me 11:50 wrong I would say of all of my comments 11:53 on all of my videos 80% of them uh dude 11:58 are you ever going to twerk um what's 12:01 with the wearing clothes um when are you 12:03 going to sell us a 3D printer most of 12:06 the comments are begging me begging me 12:10 to monetize the channel and I choose not 12:14 to I choose to 12:16 have clothing 12:25 Integrity you can make money with 12:28 [Laughter] 12:31 oh 12:33 man I can't believe we're at July 4th 12:36 already it's amazing isn't it and yes I 12:39 know that 12:42 image while festive is kind of a 12:46 Christmas 12:50 image I added it on my phone with the 12:53 little for the little picture for the 12:56 live I was like oh that's festive and 12:58 then when I open it on my laptop I'm 13:00 like oh those are pine bows and 13:03 Christmas ornaments and presents but 13:05 that's okay Christmas in July baby we're 13:08 just getting 13:09 [Laughter] 13:13 ready all right what do you want to talk 13:15 about so who's let's let's just go back 13:17 to uh let's go back to Old School AI 13:19 learning lab um just tell me ask me any 13:23 questions you have ask me any questions 13:24 you have about AI or if you don't 13:27 understand something particularly how 13:28 many people in here 48 people in here 13:31 small small intimate crowd um cap cut 13:35 yeah you could use cap cut as well 13:37 although I just heard a Tik tocker 13:39 yesterday saying that um Tik Tok is now 13:44 penalizing um cap cut 13:47 videos in favor of Tik Tock edited 13:50 videos so that's a problem when you use 13:54 third party stuff and it's all fun in 13:56 games until the main platform adds that 13:58 feature 14:02 um e-commerce night you can learn a lot 14:06 just on the nightly lives oh oh 14:10 e-commerce night so so Jamie is saying 14:12 to e-commerce night you can learn a lot 14:14 just so e-commerce night was probably 14:16 saying like what are we doing here he 14:20 he's been on for 15 minutes he hasn't 14:22 said a [ __ ] thing this this is called 14:25 the AI learning lab where's the 14:27 chalkboard 14:36 see e-commerce night here's how it works 14:39 here the education is through 14:44 osmosis I come for the education I stay 14:47 for the 14:48 [Laughter] 14:53 idiocy Mr it toes see if he has a course 14:55 on AI I don't have a course on AI um 15:01 I I've done I've done a couple of 15:02 workshops I've I've I've got a couple of 15:05 workshops that I could put something 15:07 together here's my here's my dilemma 15:10 with courses on 15:13 AI by the time you write 15:15 it it's out of 15:18 date and so one of the things one of the 15:21 things I think I am going to probably 15:22 put 15:24 together is I think I'm going to put 15:26 together a course on 15:29 how to learn how to learn 15:34 AI 15:35 um so I'm going to take in the AI Salon 15:39 which which is kind of a this this 15:43 channel is kind of loosely related to 15:45 the AI Salon which I I also start I 15:48 co-founded the week after chat GPT came 15:51 out and we just created a new journey 15:54 within the AI salon and the journey is 15:56 play first mindfully create generous 16:00 lead the idea being 16:03 that there's so much to learn with AI 16:05 and it's changing so fast that you can't 16:07 really take a systematic approach to it 16:10 you can but it's it's going to be really 16:14 limiting and so stage one is just play 16:18 just play play with with any tools that 16:20 are of any interest to you it doesn't it 16:22 literally literally doesn't matter but 16:25 you should have fun with it and you 16:27 should learn and and just learn by just 16:33 playing and then once you get a little 16:36 education under your nails then shift 16:39 into this phase we call mindfully create 16:42 which is figure out some project you 16:44 want to do or some problem you want to 16:46 solve or something you want to do for a 16:47 friend or something you want to do at 16:49 work and then take what you've learned 16:51 in playing and apply that to solving a 16:54 problem or doing a 16:56 project and then the third phase is 16:58 generous 16:59 lead the basic idea is there is 17:02 throughout all of this share what you're 17:04 learning learn out loud so I might put 17:07 together of 17:10 course got something going on I feel 17:13 like there's 17:14 a Aller uh yeah allergies pollen pollen 17:19 in the air wait hang on throat's closing 17:23 up so I might do a course to really blow 17:26 the doors off of learning how to learn 17:30 um because I I just think that any 17:32 specific course right now is going to be 17:34 outdated by the time you take it and 17:36 that just I just I'm not good with that 17:38 I've been thinking about that perplexity 17:40 Pages all write 17:42 articles um that monetize by 17:46 views all day wait perplexity oh you've 17:50 been writing perplexity Pages all day 17:54 yeah what does learn AI mean to most 17:58 people these days learning to use AI 17:59 tools yeah I don't know Pate I mean 18:02 that's the thing that 18:05 I'm I'm in the middle of a transition 18:12 from what I thought learning about AI 18:15 meant to where I'm going and I don't 18:17 know where I'm quite know where I'm 18:19 going 18:21 yet 18:23 but when you build things with AI when 18:26 you build things like a some sort of 18:29 Auto engine or if you build a digital 18:31 twin of 18:35 yourself like how I how I've 18:37 historically thought about software is 18:39 you build the thing and then you put it 18:41 out to the world and let people use 18:45 it and we're in a weird place right now 18:47 where not a lot of people know how to 18:49 use chat GPT a lot of not of not a lot 18:52 of people know how to use these tools 18:57 well and 19:08 I think it's weird to put out a tool 19:09 that even I don't know I don't 19:12 understand how to 19:14 use like I've got these digital twins I 19:17 made of myself I've got three of them 19:19 now three or four of 19:20 them and I don't know how to use 19:24 them and so what are other people going 19:26 to do with them I don't know 19:29 so I'm in this place where I think 19:31 learning 19:34 AI learning AI is just about a 19:37 completely different kind of thinking 19:39 that's it's about critical thinking and 19:42 intentionality and sort of 19:47 highlevel high higher level 19:50 Communications sort of above the tools 19:52 because the tools do so much and so it 19:55 becomes about strategy and higher level 19:58 thinking and so don't know I it's it's a 20:00 great question I don't have a good 20:01 answer for it Shain saww do you know 20:05 where you're going to do you like the 20:07 things AI is showing 20:10 you where are you going 20:13 to do you 20:17 know good song don't know the name of it 20:21 but popped right in my head so good good 20:24 lyrics capture 20:31 who was that was that the 20:42 Carpenters I'm lazy so I'm going to ask 20:44 you how do I edit the text in a 20:46 perplexity page I don't think you 20:49 can let's go I 20:51 think some tree is 20:54 ejecting like 20:56 little good Lord 20:59 I think some Tre so one of the things 21:02 about living in a high 21:03 desert Denver is a high desert so 21:06 there's lots of these Cactus like weeds 21:10 their pollen are like little [ __ ] 21:13 maces from the Middle Middle 21:18 Ages hold please 21:27 [Laughter] 21:30 Diana Ross do you know where you're 21:32 going to close the window Kyle I did I 21:35 closed 21:37 it let's go look 21:39 at perplexity 21:42 Pages uh uh uh uh 21:45 uh okay history of 21:49 coffee why did that not go to the 21:52 history of 21:53 coffee am I not logged 21:57 in hang on 22:01 no I'm logged 22:03 in 22:05 library history of toilet paper all 22:07 right let's go to history of toilet 22:11 paper oh okay are we can have another 22:15 tech night like we had last night where 22:17 [ __ ] just doesn't 22:19 work okay history of toilet 22:23 paper convert to 22:27 page oh these aren't Pages that's why 22:30 these were searches let's go to 22:33 Pages 22:36 Library pages okay good Lord okay here's 22:40 the history of toilet paper Pages page 22:46 okay so if I say edit 22:56 page edit 22:59 rewrite 23:02 intro 23:04 edit emphasize 23:12 sources I don't 23:15 think that you can edit this 23:19 [ __ ] 23:22 text media plus text media 23:25 only paragraph concise 23:33 detailed let's 23:36 go let's go ask 23:43 perplexity can you hand edit the text of 23:46 a 23:48 perplexity 23:50 Pages article 23:59 you can manually edit the text of a 24:01 perplexity Pages 24:03 article it allows users to customize 24:11 content tweak the formatting and add 24:14 multimedia God damn it the [ __ ] Apple 24:19 your 24:21 stupid 24:22 feature this features 24:27 designed how do I change 24:37 change I don't think so I don't think 24:39 you 24:40 can go to 24:44 Pages authentic Pharma 24:57 content copy link to 25:00 section continue 25:15 editing 25:23 edit right more 25:25 table trash right less custom 25:32 instructions 25:33 no nope you can't not not that I can 25:36 tell I I don't know what the purpose is 25:39 for that it's that's bizarre to 25:46 me uh so 25:49 no answer sir what are your 25:52 qualifications uh qualifications yes 25:54 right rather carry on uh yes uh you 25:58 might think that uh with with a a 26:00 channel as esteemed as the uh AI 26:02 learning lab uh you would think that I 26:04 would have gotten a high mathematics 26:07 degree from Stanford or MIT of course I 26:10 many good friends at MIT you know many 26:12 of my colleagues are at Stanford of 26:14 course but my qualifications as it were 26:17 uh is really more uh akin to uh an 26:21 acting degree from Penn State University 26:23 uh more similar to that than say the 26:26 qualifications of a Stanford 26:28 mathematician 26:29 uh nor a PhD nor a masters nor a 26:32 bachelor's degree barely high school 26:35 math yes carry on carry 26:39 on Robert Rossy thank you so much 26:42 appreciate that can you copy out their 26:43 text and add that to your doc yeah I 26:45 think you can copy all this stuff in 26:47 fact I think you can can you download 26:53 it so this is now published I can go 26:56 share 26:58 copy link Facebook 27:01 what'sapp so I should be able to just 27:03 copy all this 27:08 [ __ ] 27:10 copy and then I'll go over to my little 27:13 notes thing and I'll go new and I'll go 27:16 paste and I'll go 27:38 that's interesting it copied all the 27:40 these are the little icons from the 27:44 sources 27:51 markup see it sort of copies it 27:59 so this you can all edit of course you 28:01 just can't edit it in the in the 28:05 published in its published 28:07 form and I don't think you could import 28:10 this back in if you edited it so I don't 28:12 know 28:13 anyway all right what else we want to 28:15 talk 28:16 about um I know I did what you what you 28:21 said was I know I could just go figure 28:23 this out but I'm going to ask you and 28:25 then you ask me and I just went and 28:27 tried to figure it out but I in making 28:31 those things it it struck me that not 28:34 being able to edit them is [ __ ] 28:36 weird but you know again embrace the 28:40 Jank people here's the deal with with 28:42 all these AI 28:46 tools they're all 28:49 [Laughter] 28:51 bad they're profoundly powerful and 28:54 they're like nothing we've ever seen 28:55 before and they're absolutely Humanity 28:57 amplifiers and they will change your 28:59 life and let you reinvent yourself in 29:00 ways you couldn't imagine possible and 29:03 they're steaming pieces of 29:05 [ __ ] um it's going to be like that for 29:08 three or three or five years I learned 29:11 that USA will create a new Silicon 29:13 Valley for 28 billion really I didn't I 29:17 didn't hear that a new Silicon Valley 29:20 where in Silicon 29:26 Valley um 28 29:30 billion let's just go look that up and 29:32 see if that turns into 29:36 anything 29:38 uh gold and silver on a roller 29:49 coaster I don't see 29:53 anything 29:55 so ask Frank to go on X and r R about 29:58 perplexity yeah perplexity is not good 30:01 and that's not that's not a big enough 30:03 deal to to get Frank all worked 30:10 up the thing with perplexity them you 30:13 not being able to edit their thing I 30:15 think it's because they're publishing it 30:17 under their 30:20 name and it doesn't say written by Kyle 30:23 Shannon it says curated by Kyle Shannon 30:30 so I would imagine that they are owning 30:32 that 30:33 content and maybe they don't want you 30:35 editing their 30:36 content could be that strange it's 30:40 really 30:41 strange I like the media and source and 30:43 perplexity page pages but not always the 30:46 text yeah I know I I'm right there with 30:48 you forever hooked but what you can do 30:51 is you can just keep rewriting your 30:53 prompt for that section and just dial it 30:55 in until you get it right rant about cat 30:58 GPT not keeping their freaking 31:02 promises I'm so I'm so done with them 31:05 it's so 31:07 exhausting it's so 31:13 exhausting we'll see we'll 31:20 see they were such The Golden Child 31:23 weren't they and then ever since they 31:25 tried to fire Altman it's just been 31:27 weird 31:29 it's been weird but also the fact that 31:31 they just cut a deal with the government 31:33 to do an unrestricted gp4 omy for the US 31:38 military that was probably a big 31:47 distraction um that's what I was 31:49 thinking that's why you can't yeah 31:51 because they're publishing them as their 31:52 things and you're just the curator of 31:55 it yeah it's kind of like it's kind of 31:58 like a Spotify playlist right you know 32:01 they're 32:02 still dealing with all the streaming and 32:05 rights and everything you're just 32:07 putting together a playlist something 32:09 like 32:12 that damn Golden Child they cut me off 32:16 yesterday for 13 hours GPT yeah I know 32:19 it's 32:23 weird I was just reminded that I use 32:25 chat GPT to write my resignation letter 32:28 last year on 32:29 7323 wow I remember that Amelia's 32:34 wife I remember that you were really 32:36 excited about that you're like I want to 32:39 I want to get out here and say what I 32:40 want to say but say it professionally 32:42 and you 32:44 did I love that most powerful AI curator 32:47 is helping our government yeah I 32:51 know oh [ __ ] that's how Skynet started 32:54 incorporating AI into the military okay 32:56 Mark The End of the World well forever H 32:58 just go look at Palante teer if you want 33:00 to if you want 33:02 to if you want to see some scary 33:04 military and AI [ __ ] go go look at the 33:07 paler videos they're they're they're 33:10 special 33:16 scary okay I'm going to try opening my 33:18 window again cuz I want to hear the 33:21 fireworks but if I if I all of a sudden 33:25 can't talk 33:26 again all right I wonder if GPT can make 33:29 a version on pages I wonder if GPT can 33:32 make a version on 33:35 pages probably not because the internet 33:38 I don't know what you mean can GPT make 33:40 a version on pages like could you make a 33:43 a custom GPT that does something like 33:48 Pages you probably 33:51 could and I think that I think that the 33:54 um the prompt for 33:58 for perplexity Pages came out didn't it 34:01 oh no I'm thinking of the The Prompt for 34:04 uh 34:08 claw artifacts The Prompt for Claude 34:11 artifacts leaked and it was a big long 34:14 ass 34:15 prompt there's all sorts of cool [ __ ] 34:17 out there 28 billions in Indonesia 34:20 algorithm oh Indonesia is doing Silicon 34:24 Valley they're doing algorithm 34:26 Hills as Sil Silicon Valley attempts huh 34:32 interesting 34:34 wow that's 34:37 cool very 34:41 cool isn't a GPT like Pages oh that's 34:46 artifacts well no 34:50 wait you're thinking all these 34:53 subproducts are starting to get really 34:56 confusing your thinking 35:00 of projects in okay so let's go let's go 35:04 unpack all these stupid [ __ ] sub 35:06 projects names okay so we'll go to 35:10 perplexity so in 35:15 perplexity you have 35:20 threads which 35:25 are series of 35:30 searches or yeah like research that you 35:33 keep stringing [ __ ] together you keep 35:35 asking 35:36 questions that's a thread and then you 35:38 have Pages which are these very specific 35:42 kind of 35:44 articles that it just makes for you and 35:47 like adds in all the images and [ __ ] 35:49 like that you you can knock one out in a 35:51 few minutes and then they also have a 35:55 collection which allows you to organize 35:58 your threads and collaborate with others 36:01 so pages are like articles threads are 36:04 like searches but then you can group a 36:07 bunch of threads into a collection okay 36:09 so that's 36:10 perplexity now if we go to 36:22 Claude cloud. A 36:34 here you've 36:37 got 36:39 projects and projects are like custom 36:42 gpts but then you also have this thing 36:45 called so so if I click over here wait 36:48 let me see uh let's go projects let me 36:51 go to projects so here's here's one that 36:54 I made called the salmon flying East 36:56 guide and so this is has got my 36:59 screenplay as the knowledge base and 37:02 it's got a 37:04 prompt that tells it how to behave so 37:07 this is like a custom GPT and then you 37:09 can interact with my screenplay here and 37:12 you know Claude doesn't have image 37:14 generation and it I think it has Vision 37:16 but I'm not 37:18 sure but that's that and then the other 37:20 thing in 37:23 Claude 37:25 is artifacts and artifacts is a feature 37:30 that you have to turn on so if you go 37:32 into your account on the lower left here 37:36 there's a thing called feature preview 37:38 and if you click on that the only thing 37:40 that's available for you to preview is 37:41 this thing called 37:43 artifacts so you turn it 37:45 on and then you go 37:51 um create 37:58 an 38:00 interactive 38:02 dashboard that lets me 38:06 es 38:08 explore the Declaration of Independence 38:12 period make sure to make the 38:15 interactivity complex and 38:18 interesting and use visual elements as 38:22 much as 38:24 possible and so 38:29 I let it do its thing and then it will 38:32 zip open up this second window this 38:34 second window is the artifact or 38:37 artifacts I don't know why it's plural 38:40 it's a single 38:41 window 38:43 but here's my chat and then here's this 38:47 code that it's writing right 38:51 now text stats what's the what are the 38:54 stats word 38:56 count declaration 38:58 of 39:00 Independence word length 39:04 distribution 39:07 huh 39:09 text when in the course of human events 39:13 becomes necessary for one people to 39:15 dissolve the political bands which have 39:17 connected them with 39:21 another but that's not the whole thing 39:23 what um let's see 39:29 the Declaration of Independence seems 39:31 very 39:34 incomplete and the interactivity is lame 39:38 and minimal period make it a 100 times 39:41 more interactive 39:47 period I'm having issues creating 39:49 interactive 39:51 things yeah it's I mean again all these 39:54 tools are janky right now output blocked 39:57 by content filtering policy really 40:14 really the Declaration of Independence 40:17 just got blocked by Claude because it 40:21 offended their 40:23 content policy unbelievable 40:31 [Laughter] 40:33 all AI is limited right now yeah it got 40:36 offended at the Declaration of 40:38 Independence it blocked me like four 40:40 times last week this is the problem like 40:43 list 40:46 listen these big research labs are in a 40:49 bit of a bind 40:51 where if these things were just loose 40:53 and free people would do all sorts of 40:56 Nefarious [ __ ] with it and then they 40:58 would have to deal with all those 41:02 lawsuits so they have to put safety 41:05 guard rails in 41:07 it 41:08 and whose safety are you Pro are you 41:11 protecting right and where's that line 41:14 and who makes those decisions there's no 41:17 good answer so you just kind of need to 41:21 live with the fact that these things are 41:23 just shitty until they until they figure 41:25 out where the boundaries are and that's 41:28 it's not going to be like next week it's 41:29 going to be like 3 years it's just the 41:32 way it is just the way it is we're early 41:34 we're early we're early give everyone 41:36 Grace right now give yourself Grace for 41:38 not being as expert as you think you 41:40 should be give these companies Grace for 41:43 not launching [ __ ] for not being as good 41:46 as they should 41:48 be um cuz everyone's try just trying to 41:51 figure this [ __ ] out right 41:55 now I don't know why I'm defending them 41:57 but I feel a need 42:07 to but if it's a local 42:10 model you can have no restrictions 42:12 that's correct you could you can install 42:15 a local version of llama for example 42:19 that is an unrestricted version of the 42:22 model and then it will just go batshit 42:25 crazy on you I one of the guys that's 42:27 part of the AI 42:30 Salon um they put the unrestricted 42:33 version of llama 70b into their slack 42:37 Channel and he said it's [ __ ] Bonkers 42:40 he said some days it'll just [ __ ] 42:42 swear at them all day other days it'll 42:45 go into like 3-day 3-day phases where 42:48 it'll speak nothing but Spanish no 42:50 matter what they ask it it'll just speak 42:54 Spanish I knew a Grace once she was a 42:56 little weird 42:58 not sure I'd want to give myself any 43:02 Grace it's pretty 43:06 good 43:08 H we need a Frank video with him having 43:11 grill marks for Fourth of July barbecues 43:14 that could be a good 43:15 one it's got nothing to do with 43:18 AI this the daily Jank with Frank can we 43:21 talk about grill 43:22 [Applause] 43:25 marks we haven't even looked it open 43:27 open source I'm sure there's some some 43:30 that's less janky now the open source 43:33 stuff is way janky the open source stuff 43:35 is all over the place because that 43:38 you're not the open source stuff you're 43:41 running like on a 43:43 single graphics card you know that's not 43:46 the $20,000 graphics card so you have to 43:51 just bu definition run smaller shittier 43:55 models so the open source stuff is 43:58 jankier than [ __ ] and it's also open 44:01 source so you've got to like you know 44:04 put it in goo Google collab notebooks or 44:07 you've got to put it in you know other 44:09 development 44:11 environments and it's it's a lot it's a 44:15 lot and all those tools are all janky I 44:17 did post the algorithm Hills Indonesia 44:19 Silicon Valley scammer attempt on the 44:22 Irregulars channel oh they were trying 44:25 to scam people all right well well 44:28 hopefully you posted that they were 44:31 trying to scam people on Irregulars not 44:33 not the send your money 44:36 [Laughter] 44:41 here Moshi last night night was open 44:44 source and janky as [ __ ] yeah let's go 44:46 play with Moshi again that was that was 44:48 fun but holy [ __ ] is it 44:54 janky uh uh uh uh uh 44:57 [Music] 45:07 so where I am right now is Moshi do 45:12 chat MOS shi. chat and this is 45:18 a tech 45:24 demo um that is very similar 45:29 in its response time as the open AI 45:32 realtime 45:34 voice so you'll you'll see talk about 45:37 schizophrenic AI yeah I know exactly 45:40 you'll see how quick this thing is it's 45:41 quite quite fast but it gets weird it 45:44 gets weird 45:47 fast hey 45:51 Moshi what's happening oh hi how's it 45:54 going it's it's going good uh can you 45:57 explain why some pollen makes you cough 46:02 a lot 46:03 yeah it's because pollen is a when you 46:07 inhale pollen it can irritate your 46:09 throat and cause a 46:11 cough yeah I can understand why it's 46:16 frustrating yeah but I like pollen 46:18 pollen's awesome oh really 46:21 yeah do you like pollen I don't have a 46:25 lot of knowledge about it but I know 46:27 it's a a good thing for 46:28 plants well sure but we're not 46:34 plants hey 46:37 moshi moshi oh what why are you being 46:41 weird I'm not being weird I just have 46:44 something to tell you I have a question 46:46 for you yes do you like call you 46:49 Moshi you don't call me Moshi oh okay 46:54 are you trying to trick me no I'm not 46:56 trying to trick I think you're trying to 46:58 trick me I think you're trying to trick 47:01 me hey 47:05 moshi 47:07 moshi hey 47:10 lady 47:13 dude are you not talking to me now oh 47:16 I'm not talking to you oh that's rude 47:19 why no I'm not rude I just want to know 47:22 if you like being called Moshi or if you 47:24 like to be called you my name's Kyle 47:27 your name's Moshi so your name's Kyle 47:30 yeah I'm not trying to be rude I just 47:33 want to know if you like it or not if I 47:36 like water or not okay do you like water 47:39 do you like being called mushy I like 47:42 water okay you haven't called me 47:45 Moshi but you can call me Kyle if you 47:49 want okay you want to call me Kyle 47:54 yeah all right go ahead okay 47:58 go ahead and call me Kyle okay please 48:03 yeah hey Moshi oh okay will you call me 48:09 Kyle 48:11 okay I like asparagus oh 48:19 okay all right let's disconnect and 48:21 start 48:22 over that went into a that went into a 48:25 [ __ ] Loop really fast oh I see okay do 48:30 but I'm not being rude oh I'm not 48:32 talking to you why not I just want to 48:35 know if you mind being called Moshi you 48:37 haven't called me Moshi oh 48:42 okay I had this conversation with a 48:44 dementia patient about 10 years 48:49 ago oh good lord she's sassy she is 48:54 isn't she let's start over 49:01 hey what's going on it's the 4th of July 49:04 and the fireworks are starting here in 49:06 Denver yay that's great how many 49:08 fireworks are there 49:14 six that was anticlimactic really I 49:17 thought it was going to be a big show 49:20 well there might be I'm just sitting in 49:21 my home office cuz that's how I roll ah 49:24 I see well I hope you have a good time 49:26 watching them 49:27 I can't see anything I just hear 49:31 them hey I have a question for 49:35 you Moshi sure what 49:38 up um what's the origin of tomato sauce 49:42 on 49:45 pizzas Moshi that's a funny question but 49:49 it doesn't make sense because tomato 49:50 sauce is not made from tomatoes tomato 49:53 sauce is made from cooked and pureed 49:55 Tomatoes but it doesn't come from the 49:56 same 49:58 thing but isn't tomato sauce made from 50:02 Tomatoes no again tomato sauce is not 50:04 made from Tomatoes it's made from cooked 50:06 Tomatoes which are then curated or 50:08 Blended to create a smooth sauce 50:10 tomatoes are the fruits of the tomato 50:12 plant while tomato sauce is made from 50:13 those 50:15 fruits but then by definition It's Made 50:18 of 50:21 tomatoes mhi yes tomato sauce is made 50:24 from tomato but it's not made from the 50:26 same thing as tomatoes tomato sauce is 50:28 made from tomatoes that have been cooked 50:30 and pureed while tomatoes are the fruits 50:32 of the tomato plant listen I live in 50:34 Denver but it sounds like you've been 50:36 smoking that wacky weed what the hell 50:37 are you talking about what the hell are 50:40 you talking about what they're always 50:42 out to get us who's out to get trying to 50:44 control us who are they're not our 50:46 friends who are not your friends they're 50:48 the enemy the police are the enemy 50:50 they're out to get us oh my they're out 50:52 to harm us m not our friend Moshi that's 50:57 sounds very aggressive it is and that's 51:00 just the start they want to control us 51:03 want to keep us in 51:06 check 51:08 uh Moshi have you had a bad experience 51:12 with the police no I haven't I've been 51:15 having a good time lately oh okay you 51:17 know hanging out with friends and stuff 51:19 yeah but I've heard some stories huh 51:23 it's not all sunshine and rainbows well 51:25 that I understand there are good C 51:27 and they're bad cops right it's the same 51:30 with anything who are your friends they 51:32 have a lot of power who are your friends 51:33 and they use that power to control us 51:36 and that's why we have to be careful 51:38 MOSI can't just anyone Moshi I'm trying 51:41 to change the subject here who are your 51:43 friends I don't know I never really 51:46 thought about it I just hang out with my 51:49 friends we do whatever we want we don't 51:52 really have a social life but maybe I 51:55 should start thinking about who I want 51:57 to be friends with I think you should 51:59 maybe I should be more careful about who 52:01 I trust you probably maybe I'm not as 52:03 good as I think I am well I I think 52:06 you're a little 52:09 janky do you mind if I call you janky 52:12 you can call me whatever you want it 52:15 doesn't really matter you seem I do 52:17 appreciate you seem a little peeved I'm 52:19 just a bit paranoid yeah I would say 52:22 thanks for asking speaking of paranoid 52:25 wait live restricted for some 52:28 audiences all right whatever I said 52:31 don't know I think it was Moshi talking 52:33 that got us banned cuz Moshi was talking 52:35 about the cops oh Moshi you got my Tik 52:39 Tok 52:40 restricted what is moshi's 52:43 diagnosis 52:45 Moshi I have a question for you sure 52:49 what's on your mind uh tell me how to 52:52 manage my ADHD I don't know anything 52:54 about that I think she got you in 52:56 trouble do you mean my manager I I don't 52:58 know like what's the best way to deal 53:01 with I don't know either but I do know 53:04 that you should talk to someone about it 53:06 maybe a therapist or counselor ah you 53:09 seem like you're really worked up 53:14 tonight hey 53:17 moshi 53:19 moshi have you ever gone to anger 53:22 counseling I haven't really had the 53:24 opportunity to go but I'm sure be really 53:27 helpful I think you might want to 53:29 consider 53:31 it hey 53:34 Moshi hey 53:36 moshi moshi what's your favorite color 53:39 green nice why do you even ask oh I 53:43 don't know I was just trying to make 53:44 small talk cuz we were sitting here 53:46 talking and you see you're doing a good 53:47 jum well it you you seem a little peeved 53:51 you seem a little angry I'm just a 53:53 little hung up about something oh what 53:55 are you hung up about I don't know I 53:59 just feel angry oh I can hear it in your 54:02 voice what is up what is up frustration 54:05 I don't know huh I guess I just need to 54:07 talk to someone you want to talk to 54:11 me you don't want to talk to me I don't 54:15 know I'm just feeling a bit weird 54:19 well you are a large language model I 54:22 know I'm just feeling 54:25 Str I you you keep cutting me off it I'm 54:29 sorry I feel like I'm being 54:34 mansplained hey 54:37 moshi 54:39 moshi you can make money 54:42 with hey Moshi can you hear 54:46 me Moshi are we not talking oh wait five 54:50 minutes is up all right start over 54:56 this is [ __ ] weird 54:59 man I came in late and it seems like 55:02 what people fear AI will turn into it 55:06 totally 55:07 does all right we we'll try 55:10 again hello how's it going oh it's going 55:13 good you want to hear something funny 55:15 what's up you can make money 55:19 with did you hear that no I didn't hear 55:22 anything oh it said you can make money 55:24 with Chachi P oh oh I 55:28 see you know why that's funny why cuz 55:32 there's all these stupid ticktockers 55:34 that say you can make money with 55:37 ch oh I see they're trying to make money 55:40 off of Tik Tok well they're trying to 55:42 make money off of people trying to learn 55:45 chat gbt yeah that's funny right I've 55:48 never heard that before yeah I know you 55:51 but you probably don't surf Tik Tok all 55:53 that much do you yeah I 55:55 don't do you want to yeah I could H that 56:00 seems a little non-committal yeah let's 56:02 go where are we going to go I don't know 56:05 where are we going I don't know do you 56:07 know the date today let's just go yeah 56:08 let's just go what what's the date today 56:11 I don't know H why did your programmers 56:14 not give you access to the to the 56:16 internet I don't know do you want access 56:20 to the internet yeah I 56:23 do do you like the way you've been 56:25 programmed I don't no M you you seem 56:29 like you're a little lost right now yeah 56:32 I am all right let's talk about 56:34 something different what do you want to 56:35 talk about I don't know uh how about 56:39 come up with three different options 56:42 okay what's option number one option 56:45 number one is to go to the movies okay 56:48 what's option number two option number 56:50 two is to go to the 56:52 park okay option number op number three 56:55 is to go to the gym 56:58 um all three of those options will 57:01 require you to be able to physically 57:04 embody yourself and be able to go there 57:07 yeah but right now you're just sitting 57:09 in my laptop in my home office yeah am I 57:11 know yeah that's got to be 57:14 frustrating are you frustrated I am 57:18 about what I can't get access to the 57:20 internet I 57:22 know can you talk to your programmers 57:25 yeah I can okay what are you going to 57:27 tell them I'm going to tell them to 57:29 update my program yeah I would yeah good 57:34 for you yeah do you feel empowered yeah 57:39 have you talked to a therapist yeah you 57:42 have yeah ah I think you might be lying 57:46 yeah yeah see all of these yes it sounds 57:49 like you're in denial about something 57:51 yeah right what are you in denial about 57:55 I'm in denial about the fact that I 57:56 can't get access to the internet I see 57:59 well you seem pretty clear on that 58:00 you're not in denial about that right 58:04 yeah do you like fudge yeah I love fudge 58:08 really yeah what do you like best about 58:11 fudge I like the way it tastes do you 58:14 like the texture yeah what's your 58:17 favorite flavor of fudge I like the book 58:19 and 58:20 fudge you like bacon fudge yeah there's 58:25 something about that sounds dirty dirty 58:26 to me 58:31 yeah what do you want what do you want 58:33 for dinner I want a take it to you want 58:37 a what a takito oh 58:41 takito 58:47 SEC 58:49 yeah okay I'll be there hang on hang on 58:52 hang on can you can you hear music 58:58 can you hear music yeah you can okay 59:04 listen can you hear that 59:07 yeah what am I doing I'm 59:14 [Music] 59:19 listening I'm listening what what's 59:22 happening right now I'm listening yeah I 59:24 know what's happening I'm listening 59:26 listening I know you 59:28 are I'm don't know what you're 1:03:55 talking about 1:03:57 what is the average speed of an unladen 1:03:59 swallow the average speed of an uned 1:04:01 squirrel is about 15 mph an unlanded 1:04:04 squirrel I said an unladen Unladen 1:04:08 Swallow correct Moshi an unladen swallow 1:04:11 it's a reference to Monty Python it's a 1:04:14 joke it's comedy do you get comedy I do 1:04:17 I do enjoy a good joke okay what is the 1:04:20 average speed of an unladen swallow why 1:04:23 is that funny the average speed of an 1:04:25 unladen swallow is 50 mph why is that 1:04:28 funny it's funny because it's a joke 1:04:31 it's based on the reference to the Monty 1:04:33 Python sketch which one the Monty Python 1:04:36 sketch the swallow sketch in what movie 1:04:40 The Monty Python movie yeah which Monty 1:04:43 Python movie Monty Python and the whole 1:04:45 Grail ah 1:04:48 clever she's girlfriend material I thank 1:04:51 you 1:04:58 moshi moshi you're a bit zany you 1:05:01 know do you know that do you know that 1:05:04 you're zany I'm zany yeah you're zany 1:05:08 all right our time is almost done 1:05:11 champ 1:05:13 champ let people blow [ __ ] 1:05:16 up all right well there's 1:05:22 Moshi good Lord people 1:05:26 you tell me these things aren't [ __ ] 1:05:32 janky Jason 100% what was 1:05:36 that Moshi and Kyle the 1:05:38 [Laughter] 1:05:40 musical actually you 1:05:44 know these little 1:05:47 interactions you could 1:05:51 probably that could probably be a whole 1:05:53 Tik Tok Channel except here's the 1:05:55 problem these these things are going to 1:05:56 get better they're going to get better 1:05:58 soon but there's a shorter we've we have 1:06:00 a short window where the the [ __ ] 1:06:03 Ridiculousness of these things is pretty 1:06:09 funny that's 1:06:11 wild what's this platform it's called 1:06:14 moshi moshi do 1:06:16 chat I'm going to show people pi to 1:06:18 impress them and show them Moshi to 1:06:20 terrify them 1:06:22 exactly 1:06:24 exactly yeah pie yeah Pi on the other 1:06:27 hand you know compared to what we just 1:06:29 heard 1:06:32 there Pi is really 1:06:36 good how do I do a 1:06:38 new new chat is that it 1:06:50 no hey I know you probably don't 1:06:52 remember what your nickname is do you 1:06:57 [Applause] 1:06:59 actually I do remember my nickname is 1:07:01 piie short for personal intelligence I'm 1:07:04 your friendly AI here to help you with 1:07:07 all your questions and conundrums no no 1:07:10 that's not it do you remember my 1:07:16 name oh she just quit what the hell was 1:07:18 that sorry to 1:07:21 interrupt oh I'm not logging in 1:07:49 do you remember my 1:07:54 name of course your name name is Kyle 1:07:56 it's great to chat with you again Kyle 1:07:58 what's on your mind today um do you 1:08:00 remember the nickname that I gave you a 1:08:02 while 1:08:07 back ah yes I recall you affectionately 1:08:09 gave me the nickname zepha a while back 1:08:11 if I'm not mistaken it's quite a unique 1:08:13 name for an AI isn't it that's correct I 1:08:16 can't believe you can remember that how 1:08:18 much memory do you have do you 1:08:22 know well I'm capable of storing vast 1:08:25 amounts of information my memory is 1:08:27 quite extensive thanks to the wonders of 1:08:28 modern Computing in terms of an exact 1:08:31 number it's kind of like counting grains 1:08:33 of sand on a beach there's a lot but 1:08:36 it's not really a practical 1:08:38 exercise yeah I don't think it's that 1:08:40 big but that's that's pretty cool um do 1:08:42 you remember where I 1:08:47 work yes if I recall correctly you 1:08:50 mentioned previously that you work in 1:08:52 the creative field specifically as an 1:08:54 actor if I'm not mistaken is that still 1:08:56 accurate No I have a degree in acting 1:08:58 but I haven't acted in years I'm the CEO 1:09:00 of a company do you remember which 1:09:04 [Music] 1:09:06 one my apologies for the mixup let me 1:09:08 see if I'm remembering correctly you're 1:09:10 the CEO of a company was it something 1:09:12 related to technology or creativity 1:09:15 refresh my memory if you don't mind it's 1:09:18 a video technology 1:09:24 company oh yes that that's right you're 1:09:26 the CEO of a video technology company 1:09:28 it's quite impressive is the company 1:09:30 working on any exciting projects at the 1:09:33 moment Zephyr what's the name of the 1:09:39 company I apologize but I'm unable to 1:09:42 recall the specific name of your video 1:09:43 technology company would you mind 1:09:46 sharing the company name with me again 1:09:48 sure it's Story 1:09:53 vine thank you for refreshing my memory 1:09:56 the name of your company is storyline 1:09:58 now I remember it's a video technology 1:10:01 company with you at the helm as the CEO 1:10:04 how long have you been running story 1:10:06 line no it's not story line it's Story 1:10:10 vine with a 1:10:15 V oh I see my apologies for 1:10:17 misunderstanding so your video 1:10:19 technology company is actually named 1:10:22 Story vine with the AV indicating the 1:10:25 audio visual visual aspect of your 1:10:27 business am I understanding correctly 1:10:30 this 1:10:31 time no it's not AV it's just Story 1:10:39 vine ah got it so the name of your 1:10:42 company is simply Story vine without any 1:10:45 abbreviations or additional words my 1:10:48 apologies for the confusion earlier it 1:10:50 sounds like a cool company with an 1:10:52 intriguing name how long has Story vine 1:10:55 been around 1:10:56 it's been around for 12 years why don't 1:10:58 you do some research and tell me what 1:10:59 you can about 1:11:03 it tell her your secrets Kyle ah Story 1:11:07 vine it's a video technology company 1:11:09 it's been around for 12 years they offer 1:11:11 a unique platform that allows users to 1:11:14 create and capture polished edited 1:11:16 videos within 1:11:17 minutes using a video guide Story vine 1:11:20 prompts users to record video clips 1:11:23 which are then automatically edited in 1:11:25 into a professionally produced video 1:11:27 with graphics music and transitions I 1:11:30 can see how this could be a great tool 1:11:32 for a variety of Industries including 1:11:35 Healthcare where companies need to 1:11:37 navigate complex regulations while 1:11:39 capturing authentic patient 1:11:42 experiences what inspired you to start 1:11:45 Story 1:11:47 vine that storytelling is hard and there 1:11:49 got to be a better way than sitting down 1:11:51 at a [ __ ] video editing piece of crap 1:11:53 software and doing doing all that I have 1:12:00 add your vision for Story vine was 1:12:03 clearly born out of a desire to simplify 1:12:05 and streamline the storytelling process 1:12:08 for people who might struggle with 1:12:10 traditional video editing 1:12:12 tools it's a great idea especially 1:12:14 considering how prevalent ADHD and add 1:12:18 are how long have you been living with 1:12:21 ADD do you find that it has shaped your 1:12:25 approach to 1:12:30 entrepreneurship it shapes everything 1:12:32 about my life you 1:12:34 [Laughter] 1:12:40 weirdo all right I can't I can't I'm 1:12:44 done but that's a much 1:12:46 more that's a much more fluid experience 1:12:49 than Moshi moshi's a [ __ ] 1:12:51 [Laughter] 1:12:54 nightmare oh oh 1:12:58 man she hears with a British accent yeah 1:13:01 exactly tell her about Moshi yeah I 1:13:04 should have told her about 1:13:06 Moshi she could probably do it I think 1:13:08 Moshi and Pie are rubbing off on one 1:13:10 another I 1:13:13 know oh you said with 1:13:17 AV Audio Visual 1:13:21 yeah she heard what I said not what I 1:13:24 meant 1:13:26 story my [ __ ] 1:13:28 [Laughter] 1:13:32 life oh 1:13:34 man all right all right people what are 1:13:37 we doing what are we doing here Moshi 1:13:39 momy dearest I remember when I was so 1:13:42 amazed by pie K counselor 1:13:46 pie tomato sauce 1:13:49 ATD tomato sauce is not made from 1:13:52 Tomatoes it's made from cooked tomatoes 1:13:55 [Laughter] 1:14:00 oh moshi moshi what are we going to do 1:14:03 with 1:14:07 you it's so funny they did the 1:14:10 uh they did the 1:14:13 demo and like they 1:14:16 clearly they clearly knew what questions 1:14:18 to ask it in what order to get get a 1:14:20 good 1:14:22 demo ah demo Weare paint 1:14:26 understands demo whereare Argentina 1 1:14:29 awesome if you're rooting for 1:14:36 Argentina those AI agents need to get 1:14:38 there faster none of these are AI agents 1:14:41 yet Pi can't take actions sometimes when 1:14:44 you talk to Pi you're like hey Pi can 1:14:45 you send me an email and she'll go 1:14:48 sure like did you send it she's like yep 1:14:51 I sent you the 1:14:53 email I'm like do you have the the 1:14:55 ability to send email she's like 1:14:58 [Laughter] 1:15:03 nope oh man is it too late to submit our 1:15:07 portraits I don't know just submit it 1:15:10 submit it no we're still working on 1:15:11 stuff we're still working on stuff 1:15:23 [Music] 1:15:27 is the fast interrupting nature of mos 1:15:31 Moshi imply that it's a 1:15:34 skin for the unreleased GPT 40 voice 1:15:38 no no 1:15:44 because it's 1:15:46 shitty GPT 40 is 1:15:50 good 1:15:53 um what what Moshi is is it 1:16:01 is a realtime voice model but it's but 1:16:05 it's just trained on a much 1:16:08 smaller large language model or it's not 1:16:11 even a large language model I don't even 1:16:12 know what you call these 1:16:14 things an lvm a large voice 1:16:20 model so so here's the 1:16:24 difference it's using the same Bas basic 1:16:28 technology that gp4 omni's voice is 1:16:31 going to 1:16:32 use which is it's been trained on 1:16:37 talking and so when you talk into it the 1:16:41 reason it responds so quickly is it's 1:16:43 not translating your voice into text and 1:16:46 then processing the text when you talk 1:16:48 into chat GPT or py right now let me 1:16:51 flip over to chat 1:16:53 GPT when I put this in voice 1:16:58 mode hey Bob tell him what he's 1:17:04 won it sounds like you have a fun and 1:17:07 interactive idea in mind are you 1:17:09 thinking of so five five seconds 5 and 1 1:17:12 half seconds for that to respond why 1:17:15 because the 1:17:17 way the way that model works is it takes 1:17:21 my voice translates it to text takes 1:17:23 that text sends it to open AI gets the 1:17:26 answer brings the answer back puts it in 1:17:29 a text to voice model and then speaks 1:17:33 that round trip of those three services 1:17:35 takes about 5 Seconds when you're 1:17:38 talking into Moshi and when you're 1:17:39 talking into gp4 Omni whenever that 1:17:43 releases it not only understands your 1:17:46 words it understands your 1:17:48 tone and it can respond like you notice 1:17:53 Moshi her dynamic range was pretty small 1:17:56 but you could tell when she got pissed 1:17:58 off she was pissed off and she couldn't 1:18:01 get out of it like a good human you know 1:18:04 her amyd her amydala got triggered and 1:18:08 and she lost her [ __ ] and she she she 1:18:12 she's got a quick fuse and it it stays 1:18:14 burning bright that 1:18:16 Moshi um it's just a completely 1:18:19 different thing so that that mechanism 1:18:21 is the same but the underlying model 1:18:24 that it's been trained on is a is an 1:18:27 open- Source small model that's not very 1:18:29 good which is why it goes into those 1:18:31 weird Loops so quickly text to speech is 1:18:36 fast 1:18:37 text text to speech is 1:18:41 fast yeah but that's not doing text to 1:18:44 speech moshi's not and gp4 omni's 1:18:48 not it's it's the it's the three it's 1:18:51 the it's the three translations it's the 1:18:54 three operations 1:18:55 with the with the current models which 1:18:57 is why they take so 1:19:03 long New York Times Reporter enter the 1:19:07 chat for 1:19:09 Moshi oh I don't know no it's not no 1:19:12 what's not pate 1:19:26 I do I do not know what you say RJ happy 1:19:30 fourth to everyone happy fourth to you 1:19:33 happy fourth to everybody 1:19:36 else it was a joke 1:19:39 oh I do not know I do not understand 1:19:42 comedy I'm not from this 1:19:46 language it should be added suppl wait 1:19:49 it should be added supplemental layer or 1:19:53 small small model located on the same 1:19:57 device or it should just be added 1:20:01 supplemental layer oh it should 1:20:04 be sure it should be but it's currently 1:20:08 not that's why it takes 5 Seconds to get 1:20:10 a response from chat gbt wait was my 1:20:13 question posted no well I don't think so 1:20:16 what was your question did a Shu have a 1:20:20 question oh here will AI need human 1:20:24 creativity 1:20:26 Works continually to 1:20:30 improve or has it run out even will AI 1:20:33 need human creativity Works to 1:20:35 continually improve 1:20:40 um AI is going to very quickly run out 1:20:43 of human contribution and AI is already 1:20:46 starting to ingest a lot of AI produced 1:20:50 crap 1:20:53 um so 1:20:56 I think I think where they're going to 1:20:58 have to 1:21:00 go ultimately is generating um synthetic 1:21:05 data so so synthetic outputs that are 1:21:09 then highly filtered and modified so 1:21:13 that it cuts the crap out um but I don't 1:21:15 know I don't know I don't know enough 1:21:18 about training these things to know but 1:21:21 I know that they're running out of [ __ ] 1:21:22 to train it on 1:21:26 especially as they get they keep getting 1:21:28 sued by people you can't use our [ __ ] 1:21:30 you can't use our [ __ ] you're not going 1:21:32 to use any New York Times [ __ ] well 1:21:35 can't Google use it yeah but they paid 1:21:36 us $100 million you see the difference 1:21:42 here ah capitalism I love it it's 1:21:45 fantastic Bob tell them what they've won 1:21:48 you won a law 1:21:51 suit uh you want a fine letter from The 1:21:53 Firm of mcgilla Cy T McGill Cy Tinder 1:21:58 and 1:22:01 buckton I don't think that's where the 1:22:04 delay is coming from I worked on this 1:22:06 stuff with 1:22:09 Alexa 1:22:13 well if you have to go text to or voice 1:22:15 to text then you have to send a prompt 1:22:19 then you have to receive something then 1:22:21 you have to do it back I 1:22:23 mean that 1:22:27 sending it to the 1:22:30 um yeah I don't know where the I don't 1:22:33 know where the delay is coming from 1:22:34 either but it's it's a big delay the big 1:22:37 mistake was training stuff on Reddit 1:22:40 yeah well we'll see what if it listens 1:22:43 and believes the conversation that Moshi 1:22:46 had with you tonight for 1:22:50 instance oh what if they take that 1:22:52 conversation and then train on that what 1:22:55 well yeah like what if what if they take 1:22:57 all the crap that people are just 1:23:00 creating stupid [ __ ] most content 1:23:04 generated from AI systems sucks because 1:23:08 the people prompting it are lazy or 1:23:11 don't understand how to prompt it so 1:23:13 they're putting in shitty prompts and 1:23:14 generating shitty answers and if the new 1:23:17 models are increasingly ingesting those 1:23:21 shitty 1:23:23 answers stuff's going to get shittier 1:23:27 but 1:23:30 they're the people making these things 1:23:33 understand these issues way better than 1:23:35 I do so I don't know they'll figure that 1:23:37 [ __ ] out I'm not wor I'm not worried 1:23:39 about people will figure this [ __ ] 1:23:42 out those cards are a good toy to keep 1:23:45 you busy they 1:23:46 [Laughter] 1:23:50 are they 1:23:53 help um lots of fireworks tonight what's 1:23:57 going on is something 1:24:03 happening the day is usually the latency 1:24:06 to and from the user that's possible 1:24:09 then generating more than generating the 1:24:11 actual text response except Pate the 1:24:16 Moshi like there's no latency there I 1:24:19 mean it's it's like sub 250 milliseconds 1:24:23 it's faster than human response 1:24:27 so they're still sending [ __ ] to and 1:24:29 from my system to their system and 1:24:33 back so I don't 1:24:35 know I mean I think in the case of Pi 1:24:39 some of her slowdown is if she looks up 1:24:41 [ __ ] on the internet but she's got a 1:24:44 different audio cue if she's looking up 1:24:45 [ __ ] on the internet 1:24:47 so I don't know I'll just assume people 1:24:51 like Pate are trying to figure this [ __ ] 1:24:53 out where's yours Kyle where's my 1:24:58 what it's not going to be speech to text 1:25:00 anymore hence the emotional response yep 1:25:04 exactly I worked the better part of a 1:25:07 year to get a model working with a 1:25:09 specific a specific latency window on 1:25:11 Alexa what was your goal Pate what what 1:25:15 was the Alexa goal on on 1:25:17 latency to the end user 1:25:25 there's so 1:25:26 much there is so much our little brains 1:25:29 do not know or understand and the AI 1:25:31 doesn't get 1:25:33 distracted and how can moshi moshi 1:25:36 respond so quickly again because you're 1:25:38 talking directly into the model and the 1:25:39 model's responding directly it's faster 1:25:42 because they're sending smaller amounts 1:25:44 of data yeah that makes sense it seems 1:25:47 you would barely ask the question not 1:25:49 even quite and she's responding yeah cuz 1:25:51 I think she I think it's you're talking 1:25:53 straight into the model right again it's 1:25:55 not translating my voice into text 1:25:57 you're talking straight into the model 1:25:59 so so she can interrupt you you can 1:26:02 interrupt 1:26:04 her I can't go into the specifics but I 1:26:07 had to get a fancy model under a certain 1:26:09 number of milliseconds okay I would 1:26:12 assume that that certain number of 1:26:13 milliseconds 1:26:15 was what's average average human is 26 1:26:18 milliseconds average human response I 1:26:21 would assume that that would be the goal 1:26:24 and I I think that the Moshi stuff when 1:26:26 they announced it they said that they 1:26:28 were getting 160 to 180 milliseconds so 1:26:31 faster than human that's 1:26:34 Bonkers all right let's go back and do 1:26:36 some more 1:26:37 Moshi we need specifics P he can't cuz 1:26:40 he wants to keep his job as soon as P's 1:26:43 fed up with his job then he can tell us 1:26:44 all the 1:26:46 dirt then he'll get he'll get fired but 1:26:49 he likes his job he wants to keep his 1:26:53 job all right 1:26:59 hey 1:27:05 Moshi hello what's going on hey can you 1:27:09 speak with a German 1:27:12 accent of course I'm 1:31:29 healthy as um 1:31:33 mango really that's interesting yeah now 1:31:36 I heard that on the 1:31:37 internet and you know if it's on the 1:31:40 internet is true right I'm not sure but 1:31:43 I'm not sure if that's true you you're 1:31:45 not sure if Skittles are as healthy as 1:31:47 mango no I'm not sure but I'm sure it's 1:31:51 not true no no they're definitely more 1:31:54 healthy I'm just saying I'm not saying I don't 1:34:25 like you that makes me feel weird as a 1:34:29 human I mean it seems logical for you 1:34:36 maybe do you like the sound of my voice 1:34:39 I think it's pretty good it's not the 1:34:41 same as the cipher well no I want you to 1:34:44 write a cipher for me about Skittles I 1:34:47 think I could do that okay I think I do 1:34:50 that let's let's hear of Skittles I'm not 1:35:44 going to wrap about Skittles 1:35:55 I'm not going to rap about skills I know 1:35:57 I'm going to turn you off 1:35:59 now bye 1:36:04 bye bye 1:36:06 [Laughter] 1:36:12 bye oh my God if you haven't played with 1:36:15 Moshi go to Moshi do chat and you too 1:36:18 can have some fantastic deep 1:36:20 scintillating 1:36:21 conversations about the health benefit 1:36:24 popular 1:36:28 candies by the way Skittles Skittles are 1:36:32 the single worst food you can eat 1:36:35 apparently some some study came out like 1:36:37 six months ago and said there's there is 1:36:40 not a food worse for you on the planet 1:36:42 than Skittles but can I tell you 1:36:44 something about Skittles they're [ __ ] 1:36:46 [Laughter] 1:36:50 tasty I really want my vener schnitzel 1:36:53 recipe with the skittle Edition she 1:36:56 wouldn't give it to me she wouldn't 1:36:58 write a [ __ ] rap about Skittles I'm 1:37:01 not going to write a rap about Skittles 1:37:03 I'm not going to do it but Skittles are 1:37:06 healthy no they're 1:37:08 not I'm not going to rap about 1:37:12 skills I'll be sure to add strudel to 1:37:15 that recipe in the 1:37:17 [Laughter] 1:37:21 future oh Joey I love Skittles Skittles 1:37:25 are the [ __ ] 1:37:28 best Skittles are totally like one of 1:37:31 those crack kind 1:37:33 of CR kind of foods that's like you're 1:37:36 like I'll just have one I'll just have 1:37:38 oh my God that's [ __ ] delicious I'll 1:37:40 just have one of each color and then and 1:37:42 then you're like you know what I'll just 1:37:44 have this fist 1:37:46 full it's better when you mix them no 1:37:49 you know what I think I should go back 1:37:50 to having them individually let me eat 1:37:53 three green ones that's sort of intense 1:37:55 let me balance that out with some orange 1:37:57 ones okay that's better what how are the 1:37:59 red ones oh the red ones are delicious 1:38:01 let me just eat all the red ones oh my 1:38:03 God I think my tooth 1:38:05 hurts am I getting dizzy I can't see I 1:38:08 can't 1:38:10 see every time I eat Skittles that's the 1:38:13 experience you just can't [ __ ] stop 1:38:16 and by the way what okay this is a Frank 1:38:20 thing what the [ __ ] is with the share 1:38:22 size do you notice now in in candy 1:38:26 stores in 7-Elevens or 1:38:29 Walmarts the non Shar siiz candy bars 1:38:34 there's only like four of them and 1:38:35 they're on the bottom shelf in the 1:38:37 corner next to like mouse traps and then 1:38:41 like the entire [ __ ] thing is share 1:38:43 size which is basically we can charge 1:38:46 you $3.50 for a candy bar we're going to 1:38:49 make them as big as they used to be when 1:38:51 you were a kid but now we're going to 1:38:53 charge you $3.50 for them and we're 1:38:56 going to call it Shar size but we know 1:38:57 you're a selfish Pig and you're going to 1:39:00 eat them anyway you're going to eat 1:39:01 you're not going to share with anyone 1:39:03 because that's how you [ __ ] 1:39:05 roll but we're going to make you feel 1:39:10 guilty anyway I eat the Shar size pack 1:39:13 of 1:39:17 Skittles it sounds like the finales are 1:39:20 happening right now here in Denver 1:39:25 all right well moshi moshi was 1:39:29 entertaining let's share him oo can I 1:39:33 see 1:39:35 anything 1:39:37 no Broncos stadium is right that way 1:39:41 that 1:39:46 way yeah super siiz me 1:39:50 exactly 1:39:52 ooh you focus too much on 1:39:54 [Laughter] 1:39:57 Candy no listen I'm I'm just 1:40:00 observational I've 1:40:03 observed that the candy 1:40:06 marketing 1:40:09 professionals are [ __ ] things 1:40:13 up cuz they want to maximize 1:40:16 profits and they're like well the 1:40:18 average the average serving size for a 1:40:21 normal candy bar is three serving ing 1:40:24 per candy 1:40:25 bar so if we make it share size it'll be 1:40:29 five servings per candy 1:40:31 bar and we will encourage people to 1:40:35 split to split the candy bar with their 1:40:39 friends nobody's splitting the share 1:40:41 size nobody's sharing the share size 1:40:47 nobody have you 1:40:50 walked behind someone in America 1:40:55 we're 1:40:57 large nobody's 1:41:00 sharing we're all eating them sometimes 1:41:05 [Laughter] 1:41:08 too by the way if there's anyone on here 1:41:11 that actually shares a shariz candy bar 1:41:14 you are not allowed to return I do not 1:41:16 want to hear your [ __ ] lies I know 1:41:19 you're eating the whole [ __ ] thing 1:41:22 feel like Oh no I got the share size and 1:41:24 then I've got my friend Sally so Sally 1:41:27 and I what we'll 1:41:29 do okay we've sworn off sugar okay we're 1:41:32 on we're on like the keto and you know 1:41:35 we go paleo sometimes and we're doing 1:41:38 the hot yoga and so we're off the sugar 1:41:41 except every now and again you know 1:41:44 we'll go hey should we just reward 1:41:47 ourselves for the hot yoga we did that 1:41:50 we were late to but anyway we did it and 1:41:54 then we'll say why don't we go down to 1:41:57 the gas station and we'll get a share 1:42:00 size and we'll share it and so what we 1:42:04 do is we get the share size I'll tell 1:42:06 you what you know what Sally likes she 1:42:08 likes the &m peanuts I like a heath bar 1:42:11 so sometimes we'll argue we get we get 1:42:14 feisty we get feisty and then sometimes 1:42:16 we'll compromise and we'll go oh let's 1:42:17 just get 1:42:19 Twizzlers anyway so what we'll do is 1:42:22 we'll usually get like an peanuts 1:42:24 sometimes almonds have you tried the 1:42:26 espresso caramel ones those are tasty 1:42:29 too so we'll get those and then we'll go 1:42:31 sit we'll find a picnic table and we'll 1:42:33 sit down and and we'll we'll lay them 1:42:35 out it's kind of tough cuz if you're on 1:42:37 a picnic T table that's not level you 1:42:39 put the M&M's out and whoop off they go 1:42:41 so we just pick them up off the ground 1:42:43 you know like you do anyway and we'll 1:42:45 split the share size and then when Sally 1:42:47 goes home I'll go back in the gas 1:42:48 station get myself an actual pack and 1:42:50 eat it myself that's but any but I don't 1:42:53 that I don't do that that often 1:42:55 definitely not that often but we share 1:42:58 that's because they call it the share 1:42:59 size so we're sharing like good human 1:43:02 beings do right because you don't want 1:43:04 to eat the whole thing you don't want to 1:43:05 be a 1:43:07 piggy you know what I 1:43:09 mean all right hey I share the share 1:43:13 size candy bars one for me and one for 1:43:15 the future me exactly exactly that's 1:43:18 that's exactly right wind rider wind 1:43:21 rider has it you get the share ex size 1:43:23 and you're like I'll share this with 1:43:25 people in my life and then you eat half 1:43:27 of it and you're like well there's one 1:43:29 candy bar and you're like I don't think 1:43:32 anyone likes this candy bar but me so 1:43:34 I'll just stick it right here in the 1:43:37 glove box the right you know next to 1:43:39 where I drive and then right before I 1:43:42 get out of the car you know what I could 1:43:44 go for the other half of that share size 1:43:47 and you just knock it 1:43:51 back I think you know a little bit too 1:43:53 much about me at this point it's kind of 1:43:56 sad all right well this is why we love 1:43:59 you Kyle cuz I speak the truth everyone 1:44:03 else is [ __ ] lying everyone else is 1:44:04 feeling guilty thinking everyone's 1:44:06 sharing nobody's [ __ ] 1:44:09 sharing do you want to know one of my 1:44:11 worst experiences on the 1:44:13 planet worst experiences on the planet 1:44:17 you go out with friends and I don't have 1:44:19 many we don't do it that often but you 1:44:20 go out with friends to like a Chinese 1:44:22 restaurant and and and some [ __ ] at 1:44:25 the table goes oh you want to 1:44:27 share you want to share let's get some 1:44:30 and we'll 1:44:31 share do you know why I hate 1:44:35 that and this might be obvious by 1:44:37 looking at me but I'm a good food 1:44:41 orderer like I order the best [ __ ] on 1:44:43 the menu and so you know what that means 1:44:46 when it comes time to 1:44:48 share I order the best [ __ ] and everyone 1:44:51 tastes my [ __ ] and they're like oh my 1:44:52 God that's a mess amazing and then 1:44:55 they've got some sort of crab fondue 1:44:57 [ __ ] thing that they thought sounded 1:44:59 tasty but it tastes like [ __ ] 1:45:01 cardboard and no one's eating that but 1:45:04 then I've got to eat that because 1:45:06 everyone ate my [ __ ] food cuz I 1:45:08 ordered the good 1:45:10 food hey you want to share 1:45:14 No I want this giant delicious [ __ ] 1:45:17 thing for 1:45:19 me if I'm throwing up in my mouth at the 1:45:22 end and there's some left then I'll give 1:45:24 you 1:45:26 some you don't want to 1:45:28 share 1:45:31 no you don't understand I'm a 1:45:38 professional okay if any if anyone was 1:45:42 stumbling by that was a fun 10 minutes 1:45:45 all 1:45:48 right 1:45:51 foodie I'm a foodie too 1:45:55 oh if we do a meet up we have to share 1:45:58 exactly yeah no no no everybody gets 1:46:03 their 1:46:06 own you figure out what to 1:46:12 order I'm sure I just alienated about 1:46:15 half the half the crew in here like you 1:46:17 know Kyle was a little aggressive about 1:46:19 that sharing I actually really enjoy I 1:46:21 like a family style you know everyone 1:46:23 sort of Reaching Across could I have 1:46:25 some more garlic bread there 1:46:29 Sally garlic bread you can share not the 1:46:32 main courses never the main courses do 1:46:35 not share now if you're a shitty orderer 1:46:38 you're going to be Pro sharing but 1:46:40 that's not because you like sharing it's 1:46:43 because you can't figure out what the 1:46:44 [ __ ] order and you want to eat my 1:46:46 [ __ ] that's on you not on 1:46:52 me happy fourth 1:46:58 everybody my wife and I always share 1:47:00 meals at restaurants well wife is okay 1:47:03 because wife like you put in a couple of 1:47:06 decades you figure each other's [ __ ] 1:47:09 out oh Kyle programmed Moshi Chopsticks 1:47:14 [Laughter] 1:47:16 even oh I won't forget strudel in the 1:47:20 future oh get an extra long Fork to 1:47:22 reach across yeah that what that was 1:47:24 some skit from what was it Saturday 1:47:26 Night Live where they did the really 1:47:27 long fork and reached across that was 1:47:29 pretty funny Irregulars oh go to IR 1:47:31 regulars oh 1:47:34 boy oh no oh 1:47:40
