14. 3:18I like talking about generative AI stuff we have a lot of fun in here we have some regulars that hang out here we call
15. 3:24them the Irregulars because you know it's How We Roll things things are a little left to Center here at the the AI learning lab
16. 3:32and that's the way we like it and uh a little bit about my background I'm an entrepreneur and a uh I'm the co-founder
17. 3:41and CEO of a company called storyvine and I'm super into this generative AI stuff for my business and for personal
18. 3:48and it reminds me a lot of the early days of the World Wide Web I was a I was an entrepreneur back then I was co-founder of a company called
19. 3:56agency.com which is one of the first digital agencies uh ended up selling that to Omnicom in 2002 but that was
20. 4:04insane times and a really remarkable it was you know it was a remarkable time to be at the beginning of something that
21. 4:12became you know that changed so much and I think this is the same stuff this this generative AI stuff so let me walk you
22. 4:19through what's going on here with this um I'm gonna come back to that we're gonna start with scammy mcstammington so
23. 4:31um if you follow me be sure to check my account because Tobias just told me hey Tobias that both he and his wife thought they
24. 4:39were following me and and the front page of the scam site looks just like mine has my videos on it and not until you
25. 4:47dig into I guess their profile do you see that it actually theirs has two L's so AI Lola learning lab that there's
26. 4:56scammers that stole my content so feel free to report them Tick Tock doesn't seem to give a [ __ ] right now but whatever
27. 5:03um but just they're trying to sell multi-level marketing stuff and that's not me and I won't do that if I'm gonna
28. 5:09sell multi-level marketing stuff I'll be honest and call it a pyramid scheme and we'll do it right we'll all be in the upline the
29. 5:17Irregulars will be in the upline the downline is going down but these guys are just pain in the ass okay so if you are
30. 5:28um new to this chat GPT stuff if you haven't played with it go there chat.openai.com that's the official
31. 5:34website Claude and Bing are also worth playing with but you can just start with that top one and then if you don't know
32. 5:41at all what you're doing go to prompts.chat that'll teach you um how these things work what they really are what a large language model
33. 5:48is how you prompt them uh it'll give you lots of ideas about ways that you can make these things act to to you know
34. 5:54kind of be little special assistance for you pretty interesting stuff uh if you want to play kind of uh with some other
35. 6:02models just experiment these are four others that I think are worth playing with Bard it's actually five you get
36. 6:08kind of a bonus here Bard is Google's entry perplexity is a good site for research it does good citations
37. 6:16labs.perplexity gives you access to metas llama 2 models for free if you just want to play around with them and
38. 6:22see what they're like and then Pi we've nicked name chatty GPT Pi dot AI or the PI app is super super conversational to the point that it's
39. 6:33annoying if you want to get [ __ ] done but it's really fun if you want to just talk to something and then Poe lets you
40. 6:39play with multiple models has a bot maker and is worth your time so that's that stuff final little bit here that I like to go
41. 6:47over and you know I I update these things occasionally as I learn about new stuff these are I don't know that these
42. 6:54are state of the art these are things that I think are worth spending your time on so these are the image generation tools
43. 7:01mid-journey Adobe Firefly Leonardo and clip drop so mid journey is by far the best in terms of quality stable
44. 7:09diffusion is getting close the bottom two are flavors of stable diffusion and then Adobe Firefly is commercially it's
45. 7:17going to be safer commercially because it's not trained on any copywritten imagery um so so that's pretty interesting and
46. 7:24generative fill within the Photoshop beta is really really good uh Leonardo is a web front end to stable diffusion
47. 7:32it's quite good clip drop is from stability AI the company behind stable diffusion and then prompt book The
48. 7:39openart.ai Prompt book that'll teach you how to talk to these image generation tools it's designed for stable diffusion
49. 7:46but it's really good for all of them and then future pedia big pile of AI tools like 4000 tools that you can go play
50. 7:52with all right so that's that if you have questions pop them in the comments I do my best to answer them every night

68. 11:02and I said this is happening can you please deal with this and and they sent me back the thing and said okay here's
69. 11:07the instructions you go to their account and you click in the upper right hand corner and then you say report and then
70. 11:13you say they were impersonating me and then I responded yeah I've done that six times and you've ignored me and they
71. 11:18haven't responded it's like come on come on all right I sent you a private message about it thank you Sandra I do
72. 11:27appreciate it I do do appreciate it we had a banger night last night we had 42 000 likes and and someone gave the uh
73. 11:36the uh what is it called the seal and the whale jumping thing was [ __ ] amazing but good Lord my DeGeneres thank you all right let's see

75. 12:05the market cornered right now on AI so you know nvidia's played a really interesting game right they they kind of
76. 12:19leaned into the gamer market and then the gamer Market sort of bled into the nft and crypto Market and then is that faded out
77. 12:29it bled into the AI market and they just pounced on that and it it sounds like the infrastructure for a competitor to be able to get into
78. 12:38the scene right now is really hard amd's trying but I heard this on a podcast I listened to on on Saturday where um
79. 12:46it's not just the chip it's not just the GPU itself it's all the the control chips and and the Assembly of the final board
80. 12:55um there's all sorts of bottlenecks in the supply chain still still hanging on from covid and so it's really hard to
81. 13:01get these things you know not only manufactured at a chip level but assembled into the final boards that you
82. 13:07put into the machines and Nvidia seems to have that like I I mean I suppose if if generative AI just all of a sudden
83. 13:16you know if all of the the projects and companies that just raised you know billions of dollars each if
84. 13:25they all just kind of run out of money and decide yeah we're not going to do AI anymore then I think Nvidia would
85. 13:30probably have to make a pretty big adjustment uh uh I don't see that happening I I just don't see it happening right not not for
86. 13:43not the first for the foreseeable future you know I don't see I don't see a bottom falling out of AI like the
87. 13:52bottom fell out of blockchain and nfts because the blockchain and nft stuff it was too many crypto bro projects that
88. 14:00were just House of Cards and AI isn't that this is more substantive stuff so I don't know it's it Nvidia is an
89. 14:08interesting really interesting company that that whole category is really interesting came in late said no no you
90. 14:15just we're just getting started I just started what time is it 8 17 started at like 8 10. like seven minutes in something like that
91. 14:24um wesn radio what else can they add to chat EBT to make the 20 bucks worth it um hey wesn radio um tell me what kind of music you have
92. 14:34because when I say your name I want to be able to say the kind of music um why because I think it would be funny
93. 14:41um instead of like wesn Smooth Jazz 88. um what else could chatgpt add to make it worth the 20 bucks well
94. 14:53as so so there's there's a couple of things going on um open AI just bought their first company so so people are in here this
95. 15:02weekend you know Chachi BT's going out of business they're going bankrupt it was some article it was some speculative
96. 15:09article that basically you know did the math and said uh open AI spending 700 000 a day which is probably true and
97. 15:16they said at this rate they're going to be bankrupt by the end of 2024 which is probably not true because there's going
98. 15:22to be other people in like No One's Gonna let them go out of business so they acquired a company this week uh
99. 15:27like a a World building it's like an eight-person 3D World building kind of game company um so what's that sound like well it sounds
100. 15:39like chat GPT is gonna start being multimodal and really interesting thank you for the for the music notes I appreciate that um so
101. 15:53so let's see so so what could Chachi BT do to make it more interesting well they could get it back up to 32 000
102. 16:03tokens so gpt4 natively has 32 000 token context window right now the chat GPT site still only has I think four thousand I think the API has
103. 16:15eight thousand or sixteen thousand depending on the model you use so they could bump that to 32 000 tokens they could bring back um
104. 16:24uh browse with Bing so it's connected to the internet again although with web pilot plug-in it's pretty much is um
105. 16:33you know they could give Early Access they they could um make GPT for the current version multimodal have it so that you can
106. 16:41upload images as well um they could improve code interpreter so code interpreter right now it runs on a fairly small
107. 16:51virtual machine instance and it can get choked out on memory if you're if your file's too big and it's also only
108. 16:58running Python and it's not connected to the internet so I could see there being a much more sophisticated code
109. 17:05interpreter and maybe they could hire a branding person and don't call it code interpreter but call it like magic
110. 17:11secret computer in the cloud or you know whatever the whatever is something that doesn't make it sound so flipping geeky um
111. 17:26and and you know just give us access to the latest things so I don't I think they're training gpt5 right now or they were about to and then
112. 17:36they stopped oh that was the other thing that I was gonna say so open AI so they acquired a gaming company today so that's interesting they
113. 17:47cut a deal with Shutterstock they cut a deal with the Associated Press Google is now starting to cut deals with
114. 17:58big media companies so I think there's going to be a war I think we're entering we're entering a war where it's not just
115. 18:06about these large language models you know giving you whatever you want but it's like giving whatever you whatever you want
116. 18:14you know also tied to particular media properties right so if I want to do research for an article um and open AI had a version of maybe
117. 18:24they had a pull down menu for chatpt that you could just say I want I want you to search I want citations from the Associated Press
118. 18:34so like I feel like there's a there's a fair amount of stuff that they could just turn on right now well that they
119. 18:39can't turn on right now because they gotta actually build something but but they're starting to cut those deals so I
120. 18:44think that we're going to start to see um co-branded media Partnerships where we're gonna get news in a different way we're going to
121. 18:56be able to search historical news in a different way so yeah so I don't know but I agree like you know the the 20
122. 19:05bucks is is I still pay for it I still think it's worth it but I I think you're I think you're in the right place to be
123. 19:14asking wait what am I getting for my 20 bucks chat GPT because I got clawed for free and that's got a hundred thousand
124. 19:20token context window and it's kind of GPT 3.5 good now they rate limit you if you upload a bunch of large files
125. 19:30once you get to about 15 or 20 they they knock you down for 24 hours so that's a pain in the ass there but it is free um
126. 19:40you know Bings connected to the internet Bing has can generate images can read images where's that [ __ ] I mean you know
127. 19:48quite frankly open AI invented Dali the image generation thing why is that not more seamlessly integrated into chat GPT
128. 20:00so there's lots they could do and they should and they probably will I think they're busy they're busy trying
129. 20:07to catch up with what the [ __ ] they've Unleashed uh by the way if you're new here I totally got trolled last night

163. 27:01it would be wise for companies to have a six-month pause in AI development he took a shipment of 10 000 gpus and a
164. 27:12week after that he announced he was going to start an AI company and then two months later he launched x dot AI
165. 27:19which is you know a direct competitor to open AI so um I think the the good thing that that announcement did was it raised awareness
166. 27:32that that safety and Alignment is an issue with these things Claude um dot AI That's from a company called
167. 27:40anthropic they are thank you for the hearty hearts they are setting out uh to make you know AI alignment the core of their mission
168. 27:50they've got this thing called the Constitutional learning model which I think is really interesting um
169. 27:57so so I I you know and I think AI safety has been something you know shortly after that Jeffrey Hinton quit Google
170. 28:06and said you know I don't want to work for a company where I can't just say what I think is going on
171. 28:12um he said it's nothing about Google but I want to be able to talk about AI safety so so I think you know I think it
172. 28:19raised awareness I think it did serve a purpose but I I think on its surface it was pretty cynical at least from Elon
173. 28:25musk's point of view I know a lot of other people signed it but but for for musk in particular who was
174. 28:31kind of touting it I'm like really and then a week later he's like yeah I'm doing an AI company I'm like oh okay so
175. 28:37you wanted a six month pause on the competitors so you could catch up got it okay just [ __ ] say that you say
176. 28:44everything else you think like I I feel like that one was just like why why Veil that motive but whatever I don't really care
177. 28:54I don't I don't have a billion dollars so I can't give you know Elon any advice on what he should do with his money but
178. 29:05man's a [ __ ] machine what city are you in I'm in Denver Denver Colorado Rock Mountain high in Colorado this is incredibly

183. 30:03then tell it okay I like 1 7 and 14 and then give me 30 more that are like that and then have it explain
184. 30:11why have it rank its own names have it analyze its own names and and rank them based on what you told them your
185. 30:19business is about and explain why it ranked them the way it did um you can you can get some you can get
186. 30:26some really interesting product names very very quickly doing that kind of stuff is there an AI I can come up with
187. 30:33company names and logos and then logos you can go play with uh mid-journey and um Adobe Firefly if you've got access to
188. 30:42um you know to to photoshop Creative Cloud um Firefly could be could be good what have you coded what have I coded in terms of of AI
189. 30:53stuff I'm not an engineer I've Incorporated um open ai's whisper into my software platform into storybine we do
190. 31:03interactive transcriptions using whisper I've built a bunch of content generators um not really with code using using zapier
191. 31:13using automations um I've got my development team right now spinning up a visual interface for Lang chain so we can start experimenting
192. 31:22with Lang chain I've got two or three different Pharma clients right now looking at doing pilot projects where we go build some AI stuff
193. 31:30for them so a little bit dipped around here and there and what would be wrong with geeky ain't nothing wrong with geeky geeky's the
194. 31:39best I like geeky geeky's good I like geeky it's so good how does that answer my question which I wait which AI would you recommend
195. 31:52come up with names and logos I think I just directly answered your question I would go to chatgpt4 at chat.openai.com I'd pay for number
196. 32:04four or if you can't pay for it go to Bing which is gpt4 as well and then I would use mid-journey for the
197. 32:12logos if you want a specialized tool just to do names and logos then I would go to futurepedia.io if it needs to be AI
198. 32:23um but just to do names and logos there's all sorts of sites that do names and logos so I again I wouldn't
199. 32:31it doesn't matter that you have a I do it or some other tool do it what what matters is what are you trying to accomplish so you know
200. 32:41you gotta what what you can do with these things you get you can have these things act like a branding expert and
201. 32:47have them guide you how to give you enough how to give it enough information to be able to make good names

211. 34:50she was trying to get Bing to do it and at some point Bing just was like no no I'm not We're not gonna have this
212. 34:55conversation anymore let's just shut her down I've had to do that to me too I kind of gave it a snarky response at
213. 35:01some point it was just like no we're not gonna do this so very strange um let's see he's not a game you're a funny guy he's a funny guy

221. 36:24I'm So Random yeah it's oh by the way so I played with we were talking to Bob last night Robert who's like I've been
222. 36:32here five times and you've never answered my question and I finally answered this question about uh synthesizing his voice and I and I
223. 36:39recommended he play with iOS 17. so I played with iOS 17. it's really weird how you use it like it's not intuitive
224. 36:48at all it's very non-apple it's you know it's very much a specialized accessibility tool but the way it works you go into
225. 36:56accessibility it's an iOS 17 beta it's only in beta right now you go into speech and then personal voice and then you say set up a personal
226. 37:07voice and you can set up as many as you want but then you answer 150 questions you repeat 150 phrases so it's it's like a
227. 37:17long process like 20 minutes for for someone with 80d it was it was like torture after 30 and I just was like [ __ ]
228. 37:25and I just kept going and going and going so I finally got it done and then it takes like three or four days to
229. 37:31process and it's it's kind of opaque and weird it's not super quick and then so I went and checked on it
230. 37:39yesterday and it's sort of it like it looked like it had worked but I couldn't get it to work and when I tried
231. 37:46I didn't know how to use it and then so how you use it is you triple click your the lock button and it brings up a thing and you can put
232. 37:55in some pre-written phrases which is kind of cool so I put in you can make money which at gbt I put in that and
233. 38:02then you can type in stuff and then it'll talk it in your voice it's not as good as 11 labs like I was really disappointed after all
234. 38:12of that [ __ ] input it was like crunchy and super monotone and and like when I first heard it I'm like is that even my voice that is
235. 38:24synthesized and then the more I listen to it I'm like oh yeah it is and then I I took the same phrase and I
236. 38:30did it in you know the iOS personal voice thing and I popped over to 11 labs for my synth version over there and that
237. 38:38only took like I recorded one paragraph uploaded it to 11 labs and like a minute later it's created your synthesized
238. 38:46voice and it's pretty good um so so 11 Labs was better pretty pretty significantly but the thing about the the Apple stuff is
239. 38:57it's built into the operating system so as an accessibility feature no matter what app you're in or if you're on a
240. 39:03call with someone a FaceTime call and you can't talk you can just type in and it it will speak in your voice so for

444. 1:14:19tons of these things you know AOL was cutting media deals where you know this AOL channel was going to be the
445. 1:14:27exclusive distribution channel of this media Outlet and so we're starting to see the beginnings of that so the fact that Google
446. 1:14:39cuts a hundred million dollars deal with the New York Times and then the New York Times says yeah we might Sue open AI because they took our
447. 1:14:48stuff all of this is kind of posturing for the publishing companies to cut the biggest deals possible um they probably don't want to do
448. 1:14:57exclusive deals I don't think they should do exclusive deals the large language model companies it's in their best interest to cut deals
449. 1:15:05with um with media properties so they so that they've got brands that they can Market against right so chat GPT giving you a
450. 1:15:17really good story is great but chat GPT giving you a really good story citing news sources from The New York Times or
451. 1:15:25from the Associated Press that's even better right and if that can be you know jointly created and then the AP can have
452. 1:15:32tools for their reporters that are powered by open Ai and openai can have tools that remix content in all sorts of
453. 1:15:39unique and interesting ways in a branded trusted way like everyone kind of wins but at the same time um the Publishers are like our [ __ ]
454. 1:15:52current business model doesn't work anymore like everything's breaking the publishing industry is a [ __ ]
455. 1:15:59disaster the music industry is a [ __ ] disaster the film industry is a [ __ ] disaster right you know the the writers
456. 1:16:07and actors are striking to try to cut some sort of deal where their Leverage is slipping away daily because they're
457. 1:16:14going to be able to be replicated from these [ __ ] machines so so it's it's kind of it it's much like the Playa for
458. 1:16:22burning man that right now is a giant [ __ ] Lake and everything's shifting everything's changing and so
459. 1:16:31um so I think it's really interesting um I think in the end all of these lawsuits will settle into 100 million 500 million billion dollar
460. 1:16:40deals where we've got a 10-year deal with to AI empower the blah blah blah we're just going to see lots and lots and lots of those
461. 1:16:51so we're kind of shifting this is this is this is a good sign for the industry in my opinion because we're quickly shifting out of the tools
462. 1:17:03and into how we use the tools right so this is going to be further accelerated when when um Microsoft finally releases co-pilot
463. 1:17:13within Office 365 and off off uh Google releases barred within their office products and you're starting to get all
464. 1:17:22these media companies rolled in here um it's starting to be incorporated into the fabric of stuff we touch every day anyway
465. 1:17:32so what it says to me is is the I don't know why the word coagulation came into my head but the coagulation of
466. 1:17:41this AI stuff from kind of this this you know vaporous like what is this generative AI like I don't know how to
467. 1:17:48use it what I did I should I become a prompt engineer I heard you can make nine hundred thousand dollars oh that's
468. 1:17:53not in fashion anymore like what do I do here like it's very quickly gonna I I don't think it's gonna be that long
469. 1:18:04where we have to actively think about what is this generative AI stuff it's just going to start to mer merge into a lot of the stuff that

498. 1:22:39end painting is is literally literally in the painting um Photoshop calls this generative fill what's interesting about generative fill
499. 1:22:49with Photoshop is you can either in paint or out paint with generative fill basically if you expand your canvas and
500. 1:22:56say generative fill it'll it'll out paint it'll fill in the outsides or if you select something inside a photo and
501. 1:23:02say generative fill it will do it on the inside and this didn't give me any bikes no bikes what's this one give me a chicken
502. 1:23:17so I haven't played around with it but the the bug that I think I found is when I did my in painting earlier
503. 1:23:28for this thing I grabbed a piece of the sky and I put pterodactyl flying boy I spelled it wrong and then when I went to zoom out on this
504. 1:23:39it didn't keep the original prompt it just it only kept the pterodactyl flying prompt so which wasn't necessarily what I wanted
505. 1:23:47like I wanted it to zoom out on on that image and just not fill anything out on the outside so anyway I don't know that

549. 1:31:26you remember the the I Love Lucy famous episode where she's at the candy conveyor belt and she's just shoving the chocolate interface and
550. 1:31:37gets all sick um any work that's like that is going to be automated so so any job that's kind of like Lucy
551. 1:31:48standing there manually pulling things off the line you know manually writing articles manually um
552. 1:32:02sorting alphabetizing you know like the old classic you know go file these alphabetically and you know the woman would get the big stack of
553. 1:32:12file folders and have to go alphabetized on like any anything that's sort of the digital equivalent of that stuff I think that just
554. 1:32:20in the next two years all of that gets automated and and then what feels like it goes up in value is who's thinking critically about how
555. 1:32:35we're going to use these tools right who's thinking critically about okay if there's going to be new kinds of writing
556. 1:32:49that emerge right there's going to be fully human writing which is going to have value but there's not going to be as much of it
557. 1:32:57because it's expensive right so you'll have specialized maybe investigative journalism but even that's probably
558. 1:33:03going to be infused with a lot of AI and then you're going to go all the way down to like fully automated just a hundred
559. 1:33:10thousand articles a day being spewed up by machines and there's going to be this Continuum from well let's do it like
560. 1:33:17this way the the low level stuff the the stuff that's just spewed out automatically but that's going to overwhelm the channels
561. 1:33:24and then you're going to work up to this sort of rarified air of very very minimal sort of handcrafted bespoke
562. 1:33:31writing and I'm just talking about writing right now but you can take literally any knowledge work discipline any creative discipline
563. 1:33:39so there's going to be a very small amount of people that still do the handcrafted [ __ ] that they're probably
564. 1:33:45the Branded people the Maggie habermans and the Matt taibis and things like that that they'll still do what they do but
565. 1:33:54there's going to be this whole Middle Ground where you're gonna have sort of highly respected reporters that can increase
566. 1:34:02the amount of writing that they do because they're going to use these tools and these tools are going to get better
567. 1:34:06at the hallucination thing they're going to get better at citations you're going to be able to research pieces a lot more quickly
568. 1:34:13you're going to have somewhere in the middle here like local news journalism that is essentially gone right because all the
569. 1:34:21local stuff has been bought up by these conglomerates um that have this National messaging so local news doesn't exist anymore but
570. 1:34:31local news is still happening right laws are still being passed you know streets are still being renamed like zoning
571. 1:34:39permits are still being denied and things like that all of those public records that local journalism used to
572. 1:34:45report on those public records are still there that that's something that's ripe for AI automating and say hey let's let's bring back local
573. 1:34:55journalism and so maybe what you do is you hire an editor per local region you let the AI machines write most of the
574. 1:35:04content but you have the editor there curating which stories to run so so so I it's almost impossible to know
575. 1:35:15like what the new organization will look like because I feel like every single component of what they are today is
576. 1:35:23going to be completely Rewritten over the next five years so your questions about salaries I think that
577. 1:35:42I think that the salaries will go to the people who've got critical thinking skills and our AI literate right so so that potentially
578. 1:35:53have some sort of existing skill so I was a beat reporter or I was a screenwriter or you know I'm an
579. 1:35:59entrepreneur whatever it might be you've got you know some set of skills now your AI literate on top of it
580. 1:36:06and you've got the capacity to like think strategically because this shit's changing so fast that you're going to
581. 1:36:12need people that are going to be like okay the current business looks like this these new capabilities look like
582. 1:36:19this the future business what's that look like I don't [ __ ] know but but I know that that I know generally where we're headed
583. 1:36:26and I'm gonna I'm Gonna Learn these tools enough to to at least go in a direction and then I'll smack that into
584. 1:36:33a brick wall and go nope that wasn't it and I'll try another one nope that wasn't it here's one oh that's really
585. 1:36:38interesting maybe that's a new business unit so I think companies are going to need people they're going to need
586. 1:36:47you know I've used the phrase revenge of the liberal arts major and revenge of the Gen xers I think experienced people
587. 1:36:54are going to be valuable I think horizontal thinkers people that can think across disciplines are going to be really valuable
588. 1:37:02and then I think anyone with a specialized with it with a deep specialty who can now have that deep specially
589. 1:37:10powered by AI they're going to be valuable but anyone that just sits back and go goes I'm a copywriter I'm just gonna I'm
590. 1:37:19it's all about just copywriting for me and and what they're really doing is writing blog posts and this and that
591. 1:37:25which is copywriting don't get me wrong but like that's the stuff that this stuff's just going to obliterate right
592. 1:37:30so if those people aren't kind of aggressively up upskilling into whatever these things can do then I think that's
593. 1:37:37where the that's where the pain comes in Apocrypha what's happening all right 72 percent of Americans want to slow down Ai and
594. 1:37:49zero percent of AI companies are going to slow down you know I that's my joke about Florida just passed a fantastic law that the states no
595. 1:38:02longer accepting hurricanes okay great nice law good luck enforcing it what's that dark cloud in the distance
596. 1:38:15yeah just [ __ ] is slowing down it's not slowing down it can't there's no there's no way and and Meta Meta and
597. 1:38:21stability by open sourcing their large language models just put the nail in the coffin of any possibility of slowing it down if
598. 1:38:30this were just in Google's hands and open AIS and Microsoft's um and a couple of the other ones you know anthropic and maybe inflection
599. 1:38:41um cohere if it were just in a handful of companies and they had all the control of it you have a slight chance of raining it in in America
600. 1:38:53but China ain't gonna slow down I don't know what Russia is up to but if I'm sure they're doing something they're not going to slow down
601. 1:39:03you know the Far East isn't going to slow down the European Union probably will like though you know the European Union based

625. 1:42:50like that descript has a bunch of tools that's more that's like a better question for Reddit you can you can go look go to go to um
626. 1:43:02futurepedia.io and just see if there's any um AI generated video processing things that specifically mention colorization
627. 1:43:10but colorization is one of those things that's been around for a long long time um so I I don't know that

634. 1:44:18that one's bad oh if I if I Stitch those two together I can create this really unique thing I can do it 10 times faster than I used to do it
635. 1:44:27if I were starting an agency right now so you know it's really funny like having having started an agency and grown an agency
636. 1:44:42the model for agencies is basically get a couple of senior people together that have an idea they're generally
637. 1:44:51ex-agency people that are bitter about the agency world and they're like [ __ ] that we can do a better agency every
638. 1:44:57agency that starts says it says we're not going to be like the other agencies but but the typical model is you get a
639. 1:45:06couple of senior Partners who are who are bitter bitter and smart right and and ideally have some complementary
640. 1:45:12skills and have nice rolodexes right because they've quit their big agency jobs so they got some clients you know sitting in the wings
641. 1:45:21and then you hire a bunch of young people right you hire you know you start out with five and and you know you got the you got the
642. 1:45:30senior people out doing the selling and doing the creative Direction and then you have your your shop of executors
643. 1:45:37I don't think that's the model anymore if I was starting an agency right now I would you know find the two or three
644. 1:45:46smart bitter people that have the idea that are also AI literate have complementary skills and then I think my team rather than
645. 1:45:55having young people in there that because why do you have young people they have energy they're trainable uh
646. 1:46:01and they just go for hours and you can just say go do this go do that go do that and they just execute and you need
647. 1:46:06to be able to be out there selling stuff and have that [ __ ] executed right well now this stuff does the execution
648. 1:46:13so I would much rather have someone like Laura who's got a 25-year career who's now into this stuff and say hey do
649. 1:46:22you want to come do like all the visual stuff so we'll have a visual stuff person we'll have a writing stuff person
650. 1:46:28you know we'll have a project managing kind of person you know we'll have a creative director or two we might have a typical creative
651. 1:46:36director pair right words and words and pictures and I think it would be a bunch of gen xers that are that are still hungry right
652. 1:46:47they got if it's a startup they gotta be hungry so so that's a bit of a unicorn so they might not quite be gen xers
653. 1:46:52they'll probably be Elder Millennials it'll be either Elder Millennials or gen xers that have experience smarts you know
654. 1:47:02some kind of specialty like that and are diving into this [ __ ] and you can start a five to ten person agency that you
655. 1:47:09could compete with 50 person agencies today there's a job there's there's a trying to figure out what to do next and
656. 1:47:18and you got some got some years on you and some skills and you're into this [ __ ] like Laura is gonna be in great demand great demand I
657. 1:47:31think I can't see any other way if I'm a big Fortune 500 company and the bosses said [ __ ] figure AI out figure it out now
658. 1:47:43what am I gonna do I'm gonna go find some some smart people that are that have been on the planet long enough that
659. 1:47:55can help short-circuit some of the changes that are coming like I I just can't see a way around it the thing that
660. 1:48:01scares me in that scenario like I'm not saying this is a good thing I'm just saying like this is kind of reality of
661. 1:48:05where my head is right now where's entry level because entry level used to be you'd come in and you'd do the repetitive
662. 1:48:17tactical execution work and that's how you learn the business you know go make 50 Instagram posts out of this template okay [Music]

665. 1:48:47right that's how young people learn that's how businesses service businesses get the work done where do those young people go where do
666. 1:49:00they enter if this shit's doing all that work that I don't know like that I don't have a [ __ ] answer for and like the only the
667. 1:49:08only plausible thing that I came up with was maybe you go back to a mentor mentee model where you bring in a young person and
668. 1:49:19pair them up with an old person right so so Laura's got her 25 years of multimedia experience so she's doing everything she can to
669. 1:49:27learn this you pair her up with a young person who knows all the lingo and the vocabulary and how to [ __ ] use tick tock
670. 1:49:36and you pair them up and they teach each other how to use these tools to do what they do and and sort of the the young person
671. 1:49:48kind of levels up as an apprentice to the older person that's you know using their wisdom and their years of
672. 1:49:55experience to curate the [ __ ] out of this stuff that's the only thing I can think of right now I just I feel like the entry
673. 1:50:02the like the entry level is going to be automated and where do the young people go I don't know I don't know that that

682. 1:51:18Malcolm gladwell's 10 000 hour Theory right that that in order to get competent at something you need to put
683. 1:51:24in your 10 000 hours I kind of feel like these things knock it down to like a thousand maybe even a hundred
684. 1:51:32what if you put in a hundred hours into these tools in something that you were horrible at in a hundred hours could you be good probably

690. 1:52:32it's regulated all of that stuff's gonna go slow so so we've been talking for years about Radiologists you know we
691. 1:52:39don't need Radiologists anymore because these tools are going to do it better than the Radiologists and they do accept
692. 1:52:47we as a society and and as insurance companies and as medical professionals aren't comfortable completely seeding
693. 1:52:55diagnosis to the machines so you're going to have pair programming for a while right where you've got doctor Radiologists in in conjunction
694. 1:53:05with this AI stuff right so you'll have that for a while um I think this generative AI stuff is going to accelerate a lot of things
695. 1:53:13um so so I think it's going to be quite quite profound um but it but you know we've had AI in medicine for a lot of years it's done a
696. 1:53:20lot of good things um the generative AI stuff is just it's it's a different kind of contribution to the field and I think it's going to
697. 1:53:29affect not just drug Discovery but sort of all aspects of it and it's this stuff is going to affect all aspects of anything that's computer
698. 1:53:39mediated so Consulting computer software development Medical real estate all of it all of it's going
699. 1:53:50to be affected anywhere there's computer Intervention which is essentially all of our society at least here in the West
