18. 4:08platonic um that's funny um yeah by far chat GPT is the best Now Bing or co-pilot so you can go to bing.com chat or you can go to co-
19. 4:24pilot. microsoft.com they're both the same thing they're just different branding and that is Microsoft's version of chat
20. 4:33GPT and there's I there's conf I talked to someone about this today they're like but it's the same thing it's not the
21. 4:39same thing it's not the same thing it's not the same thing it's not the same thing um here's how it works you you
22. 4:47have the the the large language model itself is called gp4 that's the thing with all the data in it all the
23. 4:56math this thousand dimensional latent space space with trillions of words in it that's GPT 4 chat GPT is an
24. 5:06application that was built that sits on top of it that asks it for its data and then Bing chat or co-pilot is a separate different
25. 5:18application that mostly does the same thing that calls the same Bas large language model but is different and not
26. 5:26as good why is it not as good because Microsoft has put so many safety guard rails in it that it makes it functionally [Laughter]
27. 5:36unusable um and it's just it's just not as good and then and then the Google AI is called Bard bard. goole.com so I I
28. 5:46would sort of put them in that order I would put I would put them in chat GPT Bing chat Bard although Bard and
29. 5:58Bing chat are kind of a tossup up cuz Bard does some things better than better than Bing does with all these tools what you
30. 6:06really have to do is try them but what where I would start is with chat GPT and then and then the next question becomes
31. 6:11should I pay the 20 bucks to open AI for chat GPT plus the answer is yes absolutely yes if you can afford it if
32. 6:19you can't afford it don't do it but if you ever drink coffee at Starbucks more than three times a month there's your 20
33. 6:27bucks stop that [ __ ] make coffee at home with your little folders can like I do look see that is not
34. 6:38Starbucks um chat gbt plus is a really good deal right now just because it's it's just it's just there's nothing like
35. 6:45it I think I think a good investment of everyone's time right now would be learn as much as you can about chat GPT plus
36. 6:53learn how to do code interpreter learn how to leverage the fact that it's connected to the internet learn how to use dolly3
37. 7:00learn how to make gpts we just did a big event this past Saturday called GPT for good where Ann Murphy and I from empowered fundraising
38. 7:11alternated every 3 hours for 24 hours teaching people how to make gpts and those people made 150 gpts in a 24-hour
39. 7:19period our goal was 100 it was really cool um so you should learn how to do those all right let's get started
40. 7:29all right okay thank you free or not um chat GPT 3.5 is free four is 20 bucks Bing is free Bard is free now there's a new version of Bard
41. 7:45coming that's based on a model called Gemini Ultra that's supposed to be as good or better than chat G pt4 but it
42. 7:54hasn't launched yet that will probably be 20 bucks a month is my guess that's that's my guess because um it's just a bigger
43. 8:04badass or model and it probably cost them a fair amount of money to run it and yeah so that um but there are
44. 8:13free options for all three of those but but Bing and Bard right now are completely free and then 20 bucks a month for chat GPT chat
45. 8:26je um and we can go play with those I can go show you some of that stuff but let's let's dig through here and look at
46. 8:32some comments see who's in here tonight I see Amelio's wife made it on time she's starting the New Year's off right
47. 8:38I think she made a a New Year's resolution and not be late so much she there there was a lot there 2023 was was
48. 8:46was a a a a a veritable tulip field of demerit marks on Amelio's wife's report card it was just it was are there report
49. 8:59cards here oh yeah it's the learning lab we don't screw around here this is not this is not optional people are required to be here
50. 9:09night after night after if you're if this is your first time here buckle up buttercup you can't not be
51. 9:23here once you learn about this AI stuff you're like oh [ __ ] guess got to learn it now and if if you're thinking like there's an easy way
52. 9:33out like you can make money these idiots they're full of [ __ ] don't listen to them I'll tell you the truth here's
53. 9:43the truth all these tools are janky pieces of [ __ ] and no one knows what the hell they're talking about including me
54. 9:50especially me my qualifications NADA and that's what we love about it all right I made a GPT and then it said
55. 9:59I was using too much resources oh Bill how could you do that to Sam Alman you used up all of Sam's resources so
56. 10:09rude that's just called uh rate limiting you got rate limited so chat gp4 I think you can do 40 40 calls in a three-hour period so
57. 10:2240 things post prompts whatever and then it and then it's like I'm I'm tired now I'm going to go away and then it makes you take a
58. 10:33break it's just where it is right now that'll get better but that's a good thing that means you were you were uh you were
59. 10:41working it good I missed your lessons where do I make a make GPT learn to make gpts well I can teach you tonight how
60. 10:48are you in the fam recovering thank you a human being uh good I'm still I still got a little sinus thing um my one son
61. 10:54Oliver is still pretty bad Zach's doing okay but not feeling great great Gabby's got a sinus infection so we're we're all doing okay

69. 12:08bears like seriously just do anything you can to keep yourself engaged make images like the image that's here the AI learning lab Pokemon
70. 12:19cards there with our little animals on it um that was made in chat GPT in Dolly 3 so when you pay for the 20 bucks a
71. 12:26month for chat GPT Plus inside of it is dolly3 so you can just say make me an image of whatever and if you want to do
72. 12:33that on Bing right now you just go to bing.com or co-pilot microsoft.com and do the same thing make me an image of whatever and it will
73. 12:46um and just play and here's another here's another um hack I a hack I hate that [ __ ] term here is another here here's the corporate the
74. 12:59corporate version of hack here's a best practice for you listen listen Lita welcome like to give you a best practice for prompt engineering
75. 13:10um one of the things that can happen when you start playing with this so it's it's just like a Google search box right
76. 13:16chat GPT and Bing and Bard and all those are just like a Google search box and you and you look at it and
77. 13:24you're like okay what should I what should I put in there and then your mind goes blank it's called White Page
78. 13:31syndrome right where it's just like and so so here's a trick to prevent that don't sit down at chat GPT and then try to come up with
79. 13:46something to do find a problem in your life or a problem in someone else's life or some project you've mean been meaning to do
80. 13:56um from very small to very big doesn't matter but find a project first and so you know your friend Sally wanted to put
81. 14:04together a gardening plan for the spring okay great perfect grabs Sally say Sally come on over we'll work on your gardening plan
82. 14:12with Chad GPT she'll be like what are you talking about and you you just be like it doesn't matter just come on over
83. 14:19she'll be like okay and then she gets over there and you sit down at the computer she's like what are you doing I
84. 14:23thought we were going talking about my gardening and you're like no no it's AI it's cool she's like AI I don't want to I don't I'm not a a a
85. 14:32Stamford educated mathematician what are you talking about Ai and then ask it to make Sally a gardening
86. 14:40plan and watch her face melt off she'll go so that's the that's a little trick to not be intimidated by it is don't start with the
87. 14:52technology start with what you're going to do with it haven't been online till now only been up for a few hours today finally

94. 16:02cool what what is a.gov is that the is that the uh the executive order what is that ai.

97. 16:38own build your AI skills very cool so you made a GPT to to do this okay that's that's super cool lunar stick
98. 16:48awesome oh I was talking about TK so TK who said she slept all day slacker um she came so so so we did this thing
99. 17:01called GPT for good last Saturday it started 6:00 in the morning Pacific time on Saturday and Ann Murphy did a what
100. 17:10turned out to be a 2 and a half or three hour session at 6:00 a.m. and then I went at 9: so her her sessions were on
101. 17:17Zoom mine were on Tik Tok so I did my Tik Tok session then at noon she did her zoom and then at 3 I did another Tic Tac
102. 17:24we did that for 24 hours TK showed up for the first one and stayed for all of them she came in intending to make a GPT
103. 17:35or two I think she had eight on her list initially she goes I'll make one or two of these she ended up making 20 gpts in a 24-hour
104. 17:46period She was a machine and she also won we did a um an an Murphy generously donated 250 bucks to whoever submitted a
105. 17:57GPT uh for a drawing that the 250 bucks would go to the nonprofit of the Winner's Choice and TK won the drawing
106. 18:06and so her 250 bucks is going to the Minnesota firefighters Museum which is super cool so what all does code
107. 18:15interpreter do it is not explained in writing anywhere to block Tom it it is insane code interpreter is insane in many ways
108. 18:29one it's insane in what it does like what it does is remarkable it is also insane how poorly documented it is and
109. 18:38how um no one knows it's there no one knows it's there it's just sad um they even defaulted it to be turned off when
110. 18:49you make a GPT all right so so let's get in in in here um it's the official AI arm yeah that's super cool very very very cool
111. 18:59um I'm such a slacker and underachiever Broody hen I know what did you make you only made like eight gpts or something
112. 19:05like that I know it's just you can't you can't compare yourself to TK she's just on another plane her and
113. 19:13lunatick Lun these these gpts came out and lunatick found her voice and she's just like oh last count I heard of hers she
114. 19:25was at 74 but I assume the i.gov GPT is 75 can you demo code interpreter I'm going I'm I'm going to demo code
115. 19:33interpreter I'm just trying to figure out where I want to start tonight okay so here's what we're going
116. 19:38to do let me go show you something for cuz cuz quite frankly it was this this community when when when an and I
117. 19:46decided to do this 24-hour GPT for good thing this community just [ __ ] kicked into gear Vicky who has bad internet
118. 19:54connection tonight she built a website a bunch of people made images got the word out and then everyone [ __ ] showed up
119. 20:02for the party and and stayed for the party like it was just amazing so um go to come with me come with me and
120. 20:17you'll see it's a world of Pure Imagination um go to the salon the s a l n I and that'll take you to a link
121. 20:32tree that is this and the very first link is the GPT for good event directory and this is the site that that Vicky
122. 20:41Baptist built for us generously very generously and then she hung out all 24 hours while we were having people make
123. 20:50these things and she was taking the gpts as they were being submitted and she built this directory so there's 151 or
124. 20:5952 I don't know at this point more than 150 these are all gpts that people built in this 24-hour period absolutely amazing absolutely
125. 21:10amazing and and she she goes we hit the goal of 100 gpts and kept going and so here's all the ones we did after that so
126. 21:17just just remarkable so go check those out they're quite inspiring they're they're all for you know some cause or or
127. 21:25nonprofit um some of them you know when significantly beyond what what we taught in the in the sessions um some people are still
128. 21:35updating theirs um making them better and better and better which is super cool um okay so now let's go back to that link

130. 21:53them today but I couldn't download them I didn't have access so as soon as I have them but all of my Tik Tok sessions

132. 22:05do this each session is a standalone thing if you can if you watch one of them you'll you'll essentially get it um

139. 23:02kind of chaos and zany although that you know it was much more Focus than my normal lives um but Ann's were on zoom
140. 23:10and so mine tend to be shorter and just more you know here's the here's the stuff to do and I I would occasionally
141. 23:16answer questions that I saw and because it was a zoom meeting there were people there you can see them they're asking
142. 23:21questions hers tended to go most of the three-hour chunk she had for her her little time slots so if you want to see
143. 23:29Q&A and and meet some of the people who've been doing the things then watch her videos okay then the next thing down
144. 23:36is the GPT for good prompt sheet this is the thing that we used to build the gpts and so it starts out it it's it's nine
145. 23:46steps and then some sharing instructions eight steps eight steps and the first step is making the GPT and I'll I'll read The Prompt The
146. 23:56Prompt is this GPT is designed to make it very easy for someone to learn about a nonprofit or forood organization named org
147. 24:05name the knowledge about the organization should be pulled from website URL that's it so watch watch how
148. 24:11we do this so so let me show you what a GPT is first so here's what we're going to do there's there's one Advance videos
149. 24:19here's what we're going to do we're going to we're going to go to chat GPT I'm going to show you what a GPT is
150. 24:26first then I'm going to show you how to make a GPT and then we'll go use code interpreter all right sound like a plan
151. 24:32sound like a plan people are you digging it are you groovy with the scene let's see how do I straighten up my machine all [Music]

155. 25:11chat GPT um in order to make a GPT you have to be using chat GPT 4 so so chat GPT if you haven't played with it is
156. 25:20just you know you can ask it to do all sorts of stuff and it just does it um make me a 7-Day meal plan that features
157. 25:32gummy bears KitKat bars and [Laughter] avocados I'll incorporate these items as
158. 25:48accents or treats along with healthier items I I don't know what chat GPT is speaking about how dare she snack treat a small pack of gummy
159. 26:02bears no you put the gummy bears in the baked salmon I don't understand this anyway so you do that uh we don't here we can stop
160. 26:11doing that um you can also say um write me a country song about walking down a dirt road in a
161. 26:26rainstorm missing my girl the F-150 sure here's the country song Rain on a dirt road just walking down this
162. 26:41old dirt road it knows what verses are courses are it knows what songs are uh then I could go um make a table comparing Ford
163. 26:52F-150s and a Hot Wheels car so you can have it oh wait hang on stop below certainly here's a table so and then it'll make you a table
164. 27:07comparing stuff like so it's like it it is it's it's essentially impossible to describe what this thing can do because
165. 27:15it can do so much right um it can even do um you could say um I want you to write a Python program
166. 27:31that allows someone to design a custom Hot Wheels car by selecting different attributes and then designing the components for
167. 27:46them so you can just talk [ __ ] into existence okay so that's chat GPT can do kind of anything so think of chat GPT
168. 27:55kind of like the operating system of your computer or your phone gpts are customized personalized versions of chat
169. 28:03GPT so you could make a GPT that helps you do programming you could also make a GPT that helps you make drinks my very first
170. 28:13GPT is it's one it's it's one it's one of the ones I'm the most happy with because it's just it's so simple and
171. 28:21clean it's really really good it is called where is it there it is sin sipper and it it came up with the name
172. 28:30by the way it it it gave me a couple of shitty names I get I said give me 20 good names and it came up with Sin City
173. 28:36sipper I'm like oh that's good so it's a Vegas bartender with a Twist on the classics and so I could say
174. 28:45um we just rang in the new year and it's a little chilly here in Denver period the Rodeo's in town and I'd like
175. 28:55you to come up with a nice custom cocktail for the Cowboys trying to keep warm by the fire and it starts making an image so it
176. 29:10it will either uh give you the drink recipe first and then make an image and then sometimes it makes the image first
177. 29:16and then gives you the drink recipe but what's remarkable about this the the drink images it creates are [ __ ]
178. 29:23amazing like they're so accurate you could you could literally put them in a um oh that's so good look at that like
179. 29:31it it took in all of the you know the cowboy stuff the fire it's it's a hot drink well that's interesting it's a hot drink with ice
180. 29:41cubes all right partner let's russle up a warm cocktail for those cowboys to Cozy up this is the Denver Rodeo warmer
181. 29:482 O of bourbon it's a solid start half oz of maple syrup a touch for the wild west 4 oz of hot water like a
182. 29:57hot spring in the mountains a cinnamon stick and a Twist orange perfect that's perfect perfect cocktail um it sort of
183. 30:03screwed up the putting the ice cubes in there but that's okay um so so a GPT is just a specialized sort of mini version
184. 30:13of the bigger GPT but you have access to all of what chat GPT is including Dolly image generation including it's
185. 30:21connected to the internet including code interpreter okay so how do you make one of these bad boys it is stupidly simple to to start

187. 30:43been there Shane welcome welcome welcome yeah yeah oh sorry I wasn't listening I was making something on chat J I was
188. 30:51making something on CH you can make M with okay um so how you make these things where you find them is in the
189. 31:01left hand side if you've got chat GPT 4 on um there are these little round circles below the main chat GPT um open
190. 31:10ai's made some if you've made any they'll show up in the list if you played with any they'll show up in the
191. 31:14list and then there's this explore button and that's where you can go find some more gpts to play with including
192. 31:21the ones by open AI which some of those are pretty good and then at the very top create a GPT you just click on that and
193. 31:30and it's it's just stupidly simple so you've got um create and configure mode on the left so this is where you build
194. 31:39it and build is very Loosely defined this is where you make it it's where you create it and over here is where you
195. 31:47play with it so this is the test they call this the playground or preview and then in the upper right hand corner is
196. 31:53how you save it so I'm going to go back to this document that I showed you before called The Prompt starter so this
197. 32:00was the sheet that we used when we did the GPT for good challenge and so in step one you just copy it says copy the text below so you
198. 32:10copy this GPT is designed to do this and then you go to your GPT and in the create mode don't go to configure mode
199. 32:17yet we're going to start in create mode you you pop in that prompt and then you put in the org name I got to find an org name let's go find
200. 32:30let's go find a nonprofit um nonprofit about
201. 32:44clowns caring clowns International see yeah this is good video about us do they have a donate
202. 33:00page donate yeah PayPal great so I'm just going to copy their URL what's it called caring clowns International so go back to our chat GPT
203. 33:15I'm going to SW swap out the org name for caring [Music] clowns International and then where it says put the URL in
204. 33:31I'm going to put the URL in paste and that's it and I'm going to say submit and now watch it says GPT Builder
205. 33:39updating GPT now watch the thing on the right so it's updating it updating it it's almost done all right it's done bang this is
206. 33:54now functional so tell me about caring clowns International so I click on that I don't even have to type anything doing
207. 34:02research with Bing so it's going out to the internet going to the caring clowns International website and this is now a functional GPT all
208. 34:14right unique and compassionate nonprofit founded in 2001 after a clowning unit visit to Vietnam of four individuals
209. 34:23including the US Navy Air Force veterans organized to inspire focus on using clowning as a means to improve the lives
210. 34:29of poor children worldwide awesome and then that you just follow those instructions in that Google sheet
211. 34:36and and you just keep improving your your thing making it better and better you'll make an icon for it things like
212. 34:42that okay um now over in the configure side there's a place for an image which it will make you an image just follow
213. 34:51those instructions it will name it for you you can tell it you want a different name or you can give it your own name
214. 34:55it'll it'll create a description here's the prompt that makes this thing work it wrote that for for us it wrote all these
215. 35:01prompting questions you can replace those if you want to and then there's also this knowledge see where it says upload
216. 35:09files right here you can not only use a website as a source of knowledge for this but if you've got PDFs of a
217. 35:17particular disease or of a way you do something or of data or whatever it might be you can upload that content
218. 35:24into your GPT so you can make these G pts very very specialized to the the project you want to do there it's it it is staggeringly
219. 35:36powerful and to put it in context if you wanted to do this even two months ago you had to use this thing called Lang
220. 35:45chain where you had to use command line interface stuff and you had to do Python Programming and you had to stitch
221. 35:53together all these services and you had to fire up a vector database and you had to take your data and you put it into
222. 36:00this thing and you had open AI do what's called embedding it and then you take those embeddings and you put them in the
223. 36:05vector database and then you do calls to the vector database and you do calls to other it was a nightmare now Lang Chain's super
224. 36:13powerful don't get me wrong if you're a geek go play with Lang chain go make some cool [ __ ] but you now as as a
225. 36:22non-programmer have the ability to to do essentially the same thing it's quite remarkable and then there's these
226. 36:29capabilities you can turn them on or off web browsing dolly3 and code interpreter um okay so now let's go look at code
227. 36:38interpreter and what that's all about because that's a whole another [ __ ] World [Music] um all right so we're back at chat JPay
228. 36:59so I'll describe code interpreter first they also call it Advanced Data analysis that's what it does is Advanced Data
229. 37:06analysis what code interpreter does is it takes a file that you upload or files yeah I think you can upload up to
230. 37:15five and it creates what's called a container So within your chat session a container is like a little
231. 37:24mini version of a computer inside your computer how many are here how many here use chat gp4 okay so there's a a uh survey
232. 37:39up I got my 20 bucks all right how do I turn this on how do I turn this on people it's I don't see the thing oh
233. 37:56here we here we go okay we got two minutes so go vote in the uh go vote in the survey so in the upper leftand corner right up there is a
234. 38:07little survey icon click on that and it's asking out of the 130 people here how many people have TW H
235. 38:15have chat GPT plus which is the 20 bucks a month subscription oh Kyle what's what's the action button okay so let me let me go
236. 38:24back to to uh one of my G pts here for a second okay so so I talked about uh web browsing dolly3 and code interpreter you can turn
237. 38:38those on or off then there's this thing called actions and if you say create a new action um this is basically
238. 38:45incorporating apis into your GPT now this is the reason I really don't mention it if if you're just beginning
239. 38:52is unless you're a programmer and understand what apis are this is a level geekier than all the other [ __ ] all the

271. 44:14so it's programming language and so what you do is you upload data you upload files to this thing and then you ask it
272. 44:23to do [ __ ] and it right and executes its own python code to anal analyze those files okay that's what's going to happen

283. 46:26and someone forwarded you a a a a zip file and they said hey the data's in here and that's all they told you but
284. 46:35you trusted them you knew who they were and so you're you go to your data analyst in the company and you're like
285. 46:41hey I got I got a zip file what is this this is essentially what you'd ask ask them right all right so bang now it says
286. 46:49analyzing look at what this is doing it imported zip file like library and Os Library so it imported these two
287. 46:58libraries to be able to unzip the file it then unzips the file it says on online retail. CSV so it says here's what you should
288. 47:08know about CSV files like this one so it gives me some general things about the C if you want specific information I'm going to go

298. 48:43them a goal and they go and that's what this thing is doing right so so so it it did some analysis and
299. 48:52then it gave itself an error it said it appears there was an issue to proceed I can try a different approach now it's been successfully
300. 49:02loaded there are 54199 entries so this is a 500 plus 500,000 plus row CSV file given this information I will now
301. 49:17analyze the data and and it says so what are the columns index invoice number stock code description quti quantity invoice date
302. 49:27unit price customer ID and Country and so and so given this information I will now analyze the data to identify
303. 49:35interesting Trends this will include um sales Trends over time so this is sales Trends over time from 2011 for a year
304. 49:45and it looks like the data ends at the end there um but not surprisingly sales go up toward Christmas so it wrote the code to make this
305. 50:02chart and then you know and then it goes on uh let's see um pick your favorite three Trends and visualize each of them for me in a
306. 50:15unique and Visually compelling way now I don't know anything about data analysis and I don't know anything about
307. 50:27this particular data set imagine if you had data from your business and you knew a little bit about what you might want to do with that
308. 50:37data you can now just casually ask it to do the [ __ ] you need it to do this will clean up data um it will reorganize data
309. 50:50um one of the things code interpreter does is it will create files so yeah so there's so it did it did a bar chart about something let's see
310. 51:02that's sales trends products by quantity sold World War III gliders or World War II gliders jumbo big

314. 51:50product so I just want data for the popcorn holder on one worksheet and for the whatever the [ __ ] the other thing

328. 53:46mistake that for their a waste of time any time you put in right now learning these things is going to serve you very

338. 55:03like they gave it like five or six tasks and it was doing them like 100% of the time without failing so we're like

358. 58:22half of that group has chat GPT plus so we're talking like singled digit percentages of people that use chat
359. 58:36GPT right so this is very very new so this group is for those people that have had their Kevin McAllister moment this
360. 58:50one right your home alone moment of like holy [ __ ] it can do that and this is a community I started this community the week after chat GPT
361. 59:03came out because when I saw what chat GPT was I had an epiphany that oh [ __ ] chat GPT does for AI what the worldwide
362. 59:12web did for the internet it made it accessible it made it accessible by non-programmers and non-engineers and non researchers and
363. 59:23scientists it made it available to humanity chat GPT did the same thing and so this group is people that are curious about it and and are on
364. 59:39the adventure and are choosing to be on the adventure and if you're on this adventure you know when you have that
365. 59:45moment that Kevin McAllister moment of holy [ __ ] what just happened what did that thing just do you can't unsee it
366. 59:55the other thing that's frustrating about AI right now is you can't explain it to someone it sounds like we're in a [ __ ]
367. 1:00:02cult but you got like you you just type in it and it makes a code computer code in the it and it there's a picture it's
368. 1:00:11I made a picture of a llama with a hat and people are like what are you talking about you [ __ ] weirdo what what have

376. 1:01:25important what's going to happen is this as I go through the values and as you read the values when you go to the

393. 1:03:37whatever nearly every profession touches computers anything that touches a computer in the next 3 years is going to
394. 1:03:47be absolutely transformed by AI so people are going to be coming from all over all experience levels all
395. 1:03:53backgrounds and then the last one is empathy there is so much fear and anger and trepidation and and just ignorance
396. 1:04:01about what AI is how it works what what it makes possible that understand that and have empathy for people so if someone comes
397. 1:04:09in and they're like well you're a dumb dumb because you're doing Ai and that's just stealing from artists and [ __ ] you big
398. 1:04:17black totally understand how you feel like that have you played with it well no cuz I'm I'm taking a moral stand okay
399. 1:04:25awesome you want to see something cool well not really oh that's cool it could do that I didn't know it could do
400. 1:04:31that right meet people where they are so that's our values all right next thing I would request if you

465. 1:14:21know how they give you the 20% off if you buy the year I wouldn't buy the year with any of these AI tools right
466. 1:14:28now I would go month to month you're like but Kyle it will cost me more I would go month to month why is that
467. 1:14:37well Google is about to release Gemini Ultra which is apparently a chat GPT plus killer now we don't know if it's
468. 1:14:46going to cost money it might it probably will um and it's going to be really good is it going to be better than chat GPT
469. 1:14:53might be how are we going to know we're going to play with it we're going to play with it here we're going to kick
470. 1:14:59the tires on it and if it sucks we're going to say it sucks and if it's absolutely [ __ ] amazing and it's so
471. 1:15:04amazing that we're like chat GPT who then we'll move on I I don't sense that's going to be the case but I do
472. 1:15:12think that we're going to have a viable chat gb4 alternative that I that I actually do believe that's what I think is
473. 1:15:18coming and then chat GPT is not sitting on its laurels like even though they fired Sam Alman and rehired him and they
474. 1:15:26sort of [ __ ] up their life for a month or so they're paying attention and if you don't think they're boiling up some [ __ ]

514. 1:21:36to Greg Brockman so I hope he sees it teaching my elderly to use two Factor authentication apps like twio that's
515. 1:21:52awesome although I'm so [ __ ] sick of two Factor authentication your 17 Factor authentication needs to and then check
516. 1:22:02your mobile device and and like one of the services I do says check your Android device like I have I I have an
517. 1:22:09Android device I use as a testing device that that I use maybe once a month and like why is one of my services tied to
518. 1:22:18that I don't know but like I never have it with me it's never charged it's it's just have you built any of your own AIS

524. 1:23:11answer some questions in an app it goes up to the cloud 5 minutes later you got a fully edited video so I just built this thing called
525. 1:23:20the authenticity engine where you can take that video and now you can automatically generate this whole world
526. 1:23:25of content around it so it basically takes the story of the video and just blows it out in all these different ways
527. 1:23:31it's super cool um so I built that and then I'm building a number of products around video translation and um bringing
528. 1:23:41personas to life in video and and things like that so so yeah I'm building I'm building all the time and and digging it
529. 1:23:49it took me what was interesting about the the building is that I the actual building that I've been working
530. 1:24:01on other than sort of prototyping and some internal process [ __ ] I did with zapier has only been in the past two
531. 1:24:08months it took me it took me about nine months of just being insanely curious about AI for me to get my head around it enough to
532. 1:24:22incorporated into my business in in a like in an organic integrated way it took it took me almost a year because
533. 1:24:30it's so different and it's like like a lot of what I was learning was like well do I do I just completely flush my
534. 1:24:40company of 11 and a half years down the toilet and just do AI or do I do company here AI company here or do I do a little
535. 1:24:51bit of integration or do I do full integration what of this do I keep what of this do I jettison like it's it's a
536. 1:24:59lot and I you know I've got a small company shut [Laughter] up ah Mr K empathy be curious not judgmental exactly someone comes in and
537. 1:25:13they're terrified about AI why what scares you about it oh yeah I'd be scared about that too you know that's

594. 1:33:47he made a virtual version of his father we we're in this in this year we're going to you're going to be able
595. 1:33:54to have conversations with people that aren't there in fact I just got access to the did agent thing um if you were
596. 1:34:04here I don't know a week or no three days ago I they told me I had access to it and then they said I got there and I
597. 1:34:11didn't have access to it they just gave me access to it but but you're going to be able to talk to people that aren't
598. 1:34:17there so it could be deceased ones it could also be where where I see the the sort of virtual family members
599. 1:34:24or virtual loved ones conversations is with dementia and Alzheimer's patients that imagine them being able to talk to
600. 1:34:33a friendly face that they trust and know and you know to whatever extent they know them that is infinitely patient is there
601. 1:34:41247 knows all the stories all the family history those can be built relatively trivially right now and and it's going to get easier and
602. 1:34:52easier and easier to do that and I I just that virtual companionship as a category is going to get really
603. 1:35:01interesting I mean if you haven't talked with pi do you know do you know Pi are you a piie person so this is my iPad you
604. 1:35:12can do this with both the chat GPT app and this thing called PI from this company called inflection and it's just it's just a
605. 1:35:20chat GPT like thing but in the lower corner here is that little telephone and you can just hey there I was wondering if we
606. 1:35:32could have a quick [Music] chat sure thing I'm here for you what would you like to chat about oh I don't know I'm talking to a
607. 1:35:46bunch of people about Ai and how virtual companionship is going to be an important thing in the future and I think it could even help with
608. 1:35:54Alzheimer's patients with their family [Music] members absolutely that's a really great Point virtual companionship has a lot of
609. 1:36:07potential to be helpful for people especially those who may be socially isolated or dealing with cognitive
610. 1:36:13impairment like Alzheimer's AI can provide a level of companionship and engagement that can be incredibly beneficial whether it's through
611. 1:36:22conversation memory games or even just providing a listening ear additionally AI can be used to provide personalized
612. 1:36:30support and assistance to caregivers and F and that's that's one of the things that inflection the company behind this
613. 1:36:38is is working on is that they want this to be the world's best personal assistant so right now it's really good at at
614. 1:36:47conversation um probably soon this year it's it's going to start to get well it's going to get better and better at
615. 1:36:53conversation but it's also going to start to be able to take actions so you could have a conversation and say hey I
616. 1:36:59want to send an email to so and so and it'll just do it right if it has access to your to your tools um and that's that's where a lot
617. 1:37:07of these things are going to go is that is that we're going to have agents we're going to have assistants people that or not people
618. 1:37:16AIS that do things on our behalf that we can communicate with in natural language and you know surprisingly real natural
619. 1:37:26language you don't have to talk weird like with Syrian Alexa right now you have to talk weird and they just don't know a lot and
620. 1:37:35they get stumped a lot because they're basically just logic trees these these large language models are not logic trees they're large
621. 1:37:43language models they they are modeled after human brains which is why they kind of represent them in a certain way and
622. 1:37:52then the data that they were trained on was the output of humans that was stuck on the internet and so they kind of know
623. 1:37:58our language and they kind of know some of the nuances of how we talk and what we do so these things are
624. 1:38:08uncannily not robotic even though they are technically calculators they're probability engines which is amazing it's awesome I never go to
625. 1:38:20Discord anymore I know me too do you think corsera is a viable way to learn right now um it depends what you want to
626. 1:38:34learn I would say there there's some free courses by meta and Google and who else did one I think I thought
627. 1:38:44there were three of them on generative AI but but quite frankly any like I the answer is no if you want to learn if you want to
628. 1:38:57learn you know how to build models and the mathematics of it and and the foundations of machine learning and and
629. 1:39:06you know building AI systems all that [ __ ] yeah there's courses for that but if you want to take a course on
630. 1:39:14generative Ai and chat GPT and prompt engineering and this and that I can tell you right now The Prompt engineering workshops you took 3
631. 1:39:25months ago are out of date the ones you took six weeks ago are out of date when Gemini Ultra comes out
632. 1:39:35whatever was the best practice for open AI is going to be thrown right out the window like things are changing so fast
633. 1:39:42right now and the technolog is evolving so fast that there literally can't be a course that covers it all and then on
634. 1:39:52top of that so just within large language models I've got a recommended list of things I think you should pay attention
635. 1:40:00to just in large language models there are nine of them right now just in large language models image generators I've
636. 1:40:08got five or six in there and that that list is probably light video tools I've got I think five and that list is probably light
637. 1:40:22like there there is so and and and the other thing you know like this is the AI learning lab so someone will ask me
638. 1:40:29about some video tool they're like show me how to use did or show me how to use Runway and I'll and I'll go to the site
639. 1:40:34and I'm like okay here's how you use it and I'm like nope don't know how to use it anymore they completely changed the
640. 1:40:40interface like it's got new features there's a there's an image tool right now called Leonardo that um I knew how
641. 1:40:47to use Leonardo and now I go to Leonardo and there's four five new tools that are there that are completely different
642. 1:40:53they're completely it's like completely new applications that do completely different things than make images so
643. 1:41:01what's the best best way to learn it start with chat GPT get the 20 Buck a month chat GPT Plus subscription learn all of the
644. 1:41:11different features within chat GPT start there seriously then start to expand out and say what are the what are the other
645. 1:41:22large language models that I might want to learn well you've got Microsoft co-pilot which is their version of chat
646. 1:41:29GPT you've got um Claude from anthropic you've got Pi you've got Google bard you've you've got a bunch of them you
647. 1:41:38got the whole open- Source community so you can sort of learn the world around large language models chat GPT right now still King of the
648. 1:41:47Hill and then you know within chat GPT you've got Dolly 3 so start learning the image Generation stuff and so Dolly 3 is
649. 1:41:55already built into chat GPT you can also do that at Microsoft then you have mid Journey why would you use mid Journey
650. 1:42:01because the image quality is higher then you've got Leonardo why would you use that because it's built on top of stable
651. 1:42:08diffusion which is a whole open- Source world that there's all sorts of flips and switches and dials to if you like
652. 1:42:15tinkering Leonardo's you're going to love it if you work for a company Adobe Firefly because it hasn't been trained
653. 1:42:23on Commercial images and mid Journey has and and like mid Journey like a document just came out on all the artists that
654. 1:42:31they trained it on so they might get their asses sued into Oblivion and then you're stuck right so so how do you know
655. 1:42:39all this stuff you just start you get you get curious you show up here oh wait I'm here every night and I love

666. 1:44:13different no but they're getting good enough that people that were ignoring them before all of a sudden aren't
667. 1:44:20ignoring them and then if I look at the AI Salon people will be sharing you know where they were sharing just images
668. 1:44:28before now they're sharing gpts and they're sharing songs and they're sharing images that they turned into videos right and so it's
669. 1:44:38it we're in the primordial soup stage of the generative AI era and we're going to be in that primordial soup stage for probably 3
670. 1:44:48years like 18 months at a minimum minimum 2024 is going to be absolutely [ __ ] Bonkers but it's all going to be raw

694. 1:49:04this other tool that right like everything is just this these weird ass janky ass half-working mind-blowingly powerful don't get me
695. 1:49:18wrong imperfect tools they're going to all start to merge they're going to all start to merge and as they start to
696. 1:49:31merge if if you're not enough in the game you may not even know that the new feature showed up right like that's kind
697. 1:49:39of what happened in chat GPT that chat GPT was relatively simple for most of the year you put words in it and words
698. 1:49:47came out you put words in it and code came out you put words in it and formatted words came out like it was pretty
699. 1:49:55straightforward and then they connected it to the internet and it kind of did a little bit more and then they took that away and
700. 1:50:02then and then all of a sudden they Incorporated image generation in it and then they added image Vision in it so it
701. 1:50:09can now see images and understand them have you seen it read a whiteboard you can upload a picture of a whiteboard to chat
702. 1:50:23gp4 and say what is this and it will analyze what's on the Whiteboard and if it's sketches of software it will
703. 1:50:30understand those sketches and you can tell it to make the interface for that software or make an ad for that software
704. 1:50:38or write the code for that software right now today it's in there right now have you played with that

766. 2:01:01that and so I was like okay if it can understand um if it can understand the meaning of flowers then maybe you could you it
767. 2:01:10could understand how to create a beautiful bouquet that means something and so I created a GPT that basically you tell it like what emotion
768. 2:01:21you want your bouquet to convey and then it generates a bargain bouquet and a premium bouquet and then it explains
769. 2:01:33which flowers it chose and what they mean well if you've got a flower shop imagine that you create and and and then
770. 2:01:42what it did so so it would design the bouquet with with specific species of flowers and then it would generate the image of those
771. 2:01:52bouquet and then it would say if you want to buy one of these bouquet reach out to my flower shop but it would give
772. 2:01:59you the URL or the phone number or what it was lunatick I built a GPT for glass blowers I bet I could build one for

782. 2:03:20um uh you there's uh you can go to clipd drop. they've got an upscaler there's a whole bunch of the tools right now do
783. 2:03:29upscaling there's there's a new 35 Buck a month tool called I think it's called Majestic or something like
784. 2:03:36that um there's another one called topaz Labs there's some commercial ones that you can pay for but there's also a bunch

937. 2:27:21there's nine different large language models in here there's kind of the big four and then there's specialty ones
938. 2:27:26there's image creation tools and then there's video creation and so this is directly answering the question is there
939. 2:27:33a good text to video tool so the first two Runway ML and P labs are kind of the two leaders right now and pabs right now
940. 2:27:43is free and it's good it's like as good as Runway ml if not better it doesn't quite have a lot of the bells and
941. 2:27:51whistles that Runway has right now but it's free Runway is not free and it's pretty expensive P Labs is free it's not

1015. 2:39:17and a backend technology and then Write the sample code for the front end and the back end of this app and it's probably going to tell me
1016. 2:39:31yeah that's complicated and you know you really can't do it I can do a little bit here front end technology react native
1017. 2:39:42backend nodejs with expressjs database mongodb front end sample react native code so so we went from here's a

1023. 2:40:57because the tools right now aren't capable of analyzing their own work so you can do things like tell it
1024. 2:41:05to analyze its own work and it'll help you make it better but we're moving to a place where when we get autonomous agent
1025. 2:41:14Behavior which means I can just give it a goal hey here's a whiteboard take the ideas on this whiteboard
1026. 2:41:25and tell me every do everything I need to do to turn this into a business and it will start to spin up its own agents that start to do all
1027. 2:41:36these activities that I just showed you there'll be a marketing agent that will then spin up a bunch of marketing
1028. 2:41:42workers for it so so it'll create its own little CMO and it'll create a bunch of workers that'll go do all the little
1029. 2:41:49piece parts of the marketing of this here's the marketing strategy here's the marketing plan here's the social media
1030. 2:41:54strategy here's the social media content here's and all these agents are going to talk to one another and then it's going
1031. 2:42:01to create uh a a a ux committe in team a project management team an engineering team a front-end development team a QA team
1032. 2:42:17a business plan a whole CFO and financial services team and it's going to go off and do it and like an hour later you'll get
1033. 2:42:28you'll get a ping your company's been started would you would you like us to submit the app to the App Store now it's

1035. 2:42:47it would you like to launch this business you that's why you dick around with this stuff because
1036. 2:43:02when these tools evolve in the way that I just talked about you're going to know exactly why it's a big

1038. 2:43:23them can we request chat GPT to run this code and show the demo um not not right now but you can take this code and throw
1039. 2:43:32it into repet or throw it into your development tools so but you can you can absolutely take this code and go run it
1040. 2:43:38it's just right now it it doesn't have the tools internally if you're if you're using Code interpreter it it writes and
1041. 2:43:45executes python code within the container in code interpreter so it it sort of does a mini version of that
1042. 2:43:52right now but if you're doing things like react native that then you're going to have to go use your other development
1043. 2:43:56tools but you can absolutely go and and you can have chat GPT say hey if I wanted to run this code where would I
1044. 2:44:04run it and it will tell you you go get this well I'm on a Mac and I don't want to run anything on the command line oh
1045. 2:44:10okay then go use this tool download this do this install this make sure you have this Library installed and then you can
1046. 2:44:16run it in your browser window yes you can do all that out of bounds as far as terms of service uh try telling it repeatedly wonder
