0:05 foreign 0:27 welcome to the AI learning lab 0:30 it is what day is it Wednesday 0:34 July 5th 0:36 yesterday was the fourth 0:39 hey Tobias what's happening 0:41 what's happening welcome to the AI 0:44 learning lab 0:45 I had a uh an AI Salon tonight so that's 0:49 why I'm getting a late start 0:52 for those for those of you uh betting on 0:55 my stop start times 0:59 yeah you know you know cheers I'm here 1:04 I'm not going to stay that long tonight 1:06 I'm gonna it'll be a short one tonight 1:07 we're not doing a three hour marathon 1:12 ah welcome everybody this is the AI 1:14 learning lab my name is Kyle Shannon uh 1:17 while while everyone's coming in the 1:19 URLs you see on screen here are things 1:22 you should go play with if you have not 1:23 played with chat GPT go there go to that 1:26 top one that's the that's the uh what's 1:30 that called that's the official chat GPD 1:33 website if you've never played with it 1:35 go play with it 1:36 and if that scares you then go to Bing 1:38 that's Microsoft search engine and click 1:41 on the chat button that's also chat gbt 1:43 and then if that scares you then go to 1:45 Poe that's got six different things you 1:47 can play with 1:48 hello from Arizona 1:50 hey Leah how are you welcome welcome 1:52 welcome holy crap a bunch of people just 1:55 showed up welcome everyone my name is 1:57 Kyle Shannon this is the AI learning lab 1:58 I am a entrepreneur 2:02 and um 2:03 a self-styled tick tock comedian 2:07 I don't know I'm talking about this AI 2:09 [ __ ] uh I started 12 or 15 companies I'm 2:13 currently the CEO and co-founder of a 2:17 company called storyvine which is an 11 2:19 year old hey silver fox 2:20 11 year old company uh that does 2:23 automated video production super sexy 2:26 but uh we don't we don't really use AI 2:29 we've been around for 11 years uh we're 2:31 just now starting to roll AI into the 2:33 platform so 2:34 interesting interesting times 2:36 fascinating times uh I had an AI Salon 2:39 tonight so I'm getting a bit of a late 2:40 start uh the way this works pop some 2:43 questions down below I'll do my best to 2:45 answer questions I'm happy to talk about 2:47 my background a little bit of 2:49 potentially relevant uh history of my 2:52 background is I was one of the uh the 2:54 innovators in the early days of the 2:56 World Wide Web I was a co-founder of a 2:58 company called agency.com which was one 3:00 of the early digital agencies in the mid 3:02 90s 3:03 and uh when that when I when I stumbled 3:05 upon this thing called the World Wide 3:07 Web I had kind of this major Epiphany 3:09 like holy [ __ ] the world just changed 3:11 and 3:12 and uh and so I started agency.com and 3:16 sure enough you know the World Wide Web 3:17 changed the world and you know being a 3:20 part of that from kind of the early days 3:21 and and you know 3:24 taking it up through the through the 3:26 madness 3:28 um I didn't think I'd have a chance in 3:31 my life to see another one of those show 3:33 up and then generative AI showed up and 3:37 I'm like holy [ __ ] this is like one of 3:40 those except bigger 3:42 um so anyway that's uh 3:45 that's what this channel is about uh 3:47 I've been I've been I am not a machine 3:49 learning guy I'm not an engineer 3:51 scientist data scientist uh but I am I 3:55 would call myself an early adopter of 3:57 especially uh technologies that I think 4:00 are significant and profound and I think 4:02 this stuff is significant and profound 4:04 and it's coming way faster than that 4:06 World Wide Web stuff did so if you've 4:09 got questions pop them in the comments 4:10 below I'll do my best to answer them and 4:13 uh yeah let's get started 4:17 I just took my sleep meds because I 4:19 didn't think you were on well that's 4:21 that's to see now you put me on it's 4:23 like a double dose of sleep meds so 4:25 you'll be out in no time just the dulcin 4:28 the the dulcid tones of Kyle Shannon 4:32 going on and on about you know this chat 4:34 GPT thing it could be something you know 4:37 I I hear it's going to be exciting and 4:39 it's going to be transformative people 4:40 might lose their jobs it could destroy 4:42 us all 4:44 so how can I help with daughter studying 4:48 on her last year of medical school she's 4:50 constantly studying 4:52 um you know it can it it could 4:55 potentially offer her ways to 4:58 um sift through things she's got to 5:01 study it could come up with flash cards 5:03 it could 5:04 she could take something that she's 5:06 trying to learn paste that into chat GPT 5:09 and have it come up with creative ways 5:11 of uh teaching it to her right so she 5:15 could say here's a bunch of [ __ ] I want 5:16 to learn here's the way I like to learn 5:20 can you come up with a custom way to 5:23 teach me that in the next 15 minutes 5:26 quiz be on it and keep doing that cycle 5:29 until I've got it and it'll do that 5:32 um so it could help with that 5:34 um 5:35 if she gets bored she could go to Mid 5:37 journey and do all sorts of creepy 5:38 medical images 5:43 or even non-creepy ones 5:48 um but it is an incredible knowledge 5:50 that sits underneath that simple URL is 5:53 is quite profound so so these three URLs 5:56 here are all different places that you 5:58 can play with chat GPT the top one's the 6:01 official chat GPT website the uh this 6:04 one at the bottom here prompts.chat 6:07 that is a really good primer to teach 6:10 you about prompting how you talk to 6:12 these things because how you talk to 6:14 these things is really different than 6:15 how you talk to Google so so if you're 6:18 playing around on this and can't quite 6:19 figure out what to do go to that 6:21 prompts.chat thing look at that document 6:23 it'll teach you about prompting and then 6:24 it gives you a bunch of personas that 6:26 you can tell chat GPT chat gbt to act 6:29 like a certain kind of thing like act 6:31 like a a a an educator who's gonna a 6:36 test prep person uh for medical school 6:39 and it will start acting like that and 6:41 get get really good at it so so 6:43 hopefully that helps but that that 6:45 should you know that's at least a start 6:47 for her to start playing with it 6:49 and quite frankly I mean it you know she 6:52 could probably learn some things 6:54 um or get some coaching from chat GPT 6:56 around 6:58 um interacting with patients um I don't 7:00 it depends I don't know quite what she's 7:02 learning and studying 7:04 but there's some stuff there 7:07 to play with buffering I know I've got 7:09 crappy Internet thanks Comcast you suck 7:15 Xfinity gig internet it's a lot of money 7:18 and it never works 7:23 you all played with the new threads you 7:26 played with threads the new Twitter 7:28 competitor from meta 7:31 I installed it 7:33 I don't know what's going on with it I 7:36 mean it just looks like simple Twitter 7:38 what is the Nova app I have it I don't 7:41 know 7:42 let me go look yeah 7:49 all right Nova AI I assume it's AI app 7:53 yes 7:56 Nova chatbot Nova is here for you 24 7. 7:59 this AI assistant can generate generate 8:01 human-like responses 8:04 powered by chat GPT and gpt4 scroll down 8:07 okay 8:13 um 8:13 try for free 8:16 huh I don't know 8:19 it looks like um 8:22 it looks like sort of a multi-platform 8:26 chat GPT interface 8:30 yeah I think this is just this is just 8:32 an alternative to chat GPT is what it 8:34 looks like 8:35 we're here you've got some example 8:37 prompts there you've got to ask me 8:39 anything there 8:41 um let's see write me a poem 8:45 about 8:46 quantum mechanics 8:51 um like 8:53 T.S Eliot 8:59 yeah I don't know I think it I I think 9:02 it's just an alternative to chat GPT 9:04 is it free I don't know I so so for my 9:08 money 9:10 for for my money if I were a bitten man 9:12 you know 9:14 they're the guys that invented the 9:16 underlying model that's their thing are 9:18 there going to be apps that are better 9:20 than that there are but the reason I 9:22 would pay for that over some other app 9:24 is that they're going to give me access 9:25 to their newest stuff sooner than those 9:28 other things will 9:31 um I hear it's the devil that's not the 9:33 devil it could be an angel knock knock 9:37 is there something answered 9:39 uh 9:42 all right 9:44 um where do we go to talk with AI That's 9:47 why this is on screen go to 9:49 chat.openai.com it's going to look like 9:51 a Google search here I will go play and 9:55 show you 9:56 let's go to chat GPT so here's chat GPT 10:02 this is my chat history I've got GPT 3.5 10:05 and gpt4 the difference is this one's 10:08 faster this one's better 10:10 and then this one also has plugins it 10:12 this one used to be connected to the 10:14 internet but they shut that [ __ ] down 10:16 two days ago because apparently their 10:19 connection to the internet was siphoning 10:22 uh content from behind paywalls without 10:25 paying for it and apparently that pissed 10:28 some people off so they shut that down 10:31 um and then this is how you chat with it 10:33 so I'll just go to the GPT 3.5 which if 10:36 you're on the free version this is what 10:37 you play with and say 10:40 make a table 10:43 comparing the early days of the world 10:47 wide web and the early days of 10:53 generative AI 10:56 and it might not do too well with the 11:00 generative AI because it yeah it says 11:02 I've got a cut off at September 2021. so 11:05 it's probably got some older things in 11:06 there 11:08 time period late 80s to early 90s late 11:12 2010s to early 2020s 11:14 so but notice that it formatted the 11:17 table it wrote it really quickly I 11:19 didn't have to do any research go find 11:21 anything it's just there I could also 11:24 say things like 11:25 um 11:26 could you turn this into a python 11:32 application 11:36 um that asks for a year 11:41 and provides 11:44 uh uh stats I don't know 11:49 that's a horrible prompt but it 11:51 understood it sure here it is 11:55 time period main goal user interaction 11:57 access and connectivity so it you know 12:00 it's writing our python script here then 12:03 it explains what it did explains how to 12:05 run it 12:07 when you run the application it will 12:08 prompt you to enter the technology 12:10 either World Wide Web or Ai and the year 12:12 you're interested in it will then 12:14 retrieve the statistics from the 12:15 corresponding CSV file and display them 12:19 um 12:19 can you make a more detailed 12:24 CSV file 12:26 certainly here you go 12:30 and so now it's creating 12:33 1989 1990 1991 a whole long list of 12:37 things that happened 12:39 in those years so 12:41 um so that's that's chatting with AI and 12:44 and you know the 12:47 other site that I had up here this one 12:49 down below me prompts.chat will teach 12:52 you all sorts of different ways that you 12:54 can play with it like that so hopefully 12:56 that helps as an artist that just 12:58 graduated in animation to be honest AI 13:00 is so disheartening due to the hostility 13:03 the hostility is going to fade every 13:05 time there's a new technology 13:08 the current established people 13:09 especially 13:11 with something like AI that is 13:13 threatening 20 30 40-year careers 13:17 um the the hostility is going to be 13:18 there people are afraid they're afraid 13:20 of change 13:21 um 13:22 what I would do if I were you so let me 13:24 let me show you another thing so we had 13:26 we had one of these meetings tonight so 13:27 I created this thing called the AI salon 13:31 um and it's a community of people who 13:33 are curious about AI exploring it 13:35 there's a lot of artists in this this 13:36 used to be called the AI artist Salon 13:38 but if you go to the salon.ai 13:41 um it's a link tree there's a meet up 13:44 there but there's also a Discord there 13:46 join the Discord start hanging out start 13:48 talking to people it's a community of 13:50 like-minded people I think we've got I 13:52 don't know 550 people in the Meetup and 13:55 we've got a LinkedIn Community we've got 13:57 the Discord Community 13:59 um so so 14:01 surround yourself with people that are 14:03 playing in this because it you know the 14:06 the people that are 14:07 resisting it and afraid of it you know 14:10 they're at some point gonna have to deal 14:11 with it they might not want to deal with 14:13 it but at some point they're going to 14:14 have to so if you don't have the energy 14:16 or the patience to deal with that right 14:18 now surround yourself with people uh 14:21 that that uh that are into this because 14:24 you know listen this is 14:27 quite frankly this is it's like the most 14:30 powerful technology in the history of 14:32 mankind and and it's gonna it's gonna 14:34 change a lot 14:36 um and and I think you're wise to start 14:38 playing with it and and wise to be an AI 14:41 literate you know animator 14:45 um and those that aren't are going to 14:47 get they're gonna I don't know it's 14:48 gonna be a rude awakening so uh you know 14:51 jump in it I'm there we're there go go 14:53 go 14:54 all right so paste all the studying and 14:56 chat GPT so Rhythm she so the way Chachi 15:00 BT Works she can't paste in a tremendous 15:02 amount because there's a thing called a 15:04 context window it's like a 3000 word 15:06 limit but she could do it in little 15:08 chunks if she needs to put in a really 15:10 big chunk 15:13 um she can use 15:14 um uh plugins uh for chat GPT that'll go 15:18 look at a website and read it or go read 15:20 a PDF or she can use a model that allows 15:24 for larger context window I'll show you 15:26 one of those so right there poe.com let 15:29 me let me go show you Poe 15:34 where do I have it I have it here here 15:36 it is okay 15:39 so po.com is just like chat gbt you 15:42 enter some stuff down here but over on 15:44 the left hand side you've got 15:47 um 15:47 you've got six different models here 15:50 that you can play with three of them are 15:52 subscription only so gpt4 Claude plus 15:56 and Claude instant 100K you have to be 15:59 uh you know paying the I think it's 20 16:01 bucks a month for Poe 16:03 but this one Claude instant 100K that's 16:06 got a context window of essentially 75 16:09 000 words so that's a really long 16:11 document so she could potentially paste 16:14 in yeah an entire you know study guide 16:16 or whatever it is she's studying just 16:19 paste it in there and start interacting 16:21 with it you know asking it questions 16:23 having you know it come up with 16:26 um interesting ways for her to learn and 16:29 test and flash cards and all sorts of 16:31 things like that so oh and this is not 16:34 focusing because I didn't change my 16:37 settings someone told me how to do that 16:39 last night I didn't do it because you 16:41 know add anyway hopefully that helps 16:46 um I know it's a lot there's a lot a lot 16:48 going on with this stuff but just have 16:50 her jump in and start playing is it true 16:52 chat GPT is only up to date to 2021 16:55 and so and if so will it be updated to 16:58 2023 so yes it is true that the core 17:02 large language model the base model of 17:05 GPT 3.5 and 4 stops at September 2021. 17:10 the reason for that is that to do those 17:13 base models it's called you know the 17:15 large language model that that core 17:16 foundational model is very very time 17:19 consuming very very manual like it's a 17:21 lot of manual data tagging and it's 17:23 massive amounts of uh GPU cycles and 17:27 just a lot of compute and data thrown at 17:29 this thing 17:30 the way they're augmenting it is they're 17:33 connecting it to the Internet so if you 17:34 go to bing.com and you click on the chat 17:37 button at bing.com that's gpt4 and it's 17:40 connected to the internet 17:42 so if you search for something uh or if 17:45 you if you interact with chat uh at 17:48 bing.com 17:50 um if you ask it for something more 17:51 recent than September 2021 it will 17:54 actually go to a an internet search pull 17:56 that data in and augment the answer with 17:59 that so so that's how they're kind of 18:01 updating it the GPT 5 is being trained 18:05 right now 18:06 um I think apparently who knows 18:09 they'll get around to it when they can I 18:12 I assume that won't come out probably 18:13 until end of the year or beginning of 18:15 next year 18:17 um that will probably be as recent as 18:19 2023 but by the time it's rolled out in 18:21 full that'll be behind as well so 18:25 um so it will be updated but it's it's 18:28 it's a very slow process to to update 18:30 those base models 18:33 buffering thanks again you're welcome 18:35 just asking Bing chat to describe the 18:38 image of a flower give General answer 18:40 then a link to a florist 18:43 just asked to describe an image of a 18:45 flower well you can if you go to 18:47 bing.com you can have it create a flower 18:49 an image of a flower so you say 18:52 so here I am at Bing 18:54 and so if when you first go to bing.com 18:56 you're going to land on something that's 18:58 kind of like a Google Search right and 19:00 it's just like a search bar and then 19:02 right up here if you hit chat 19:05 that takes you into Bing chat and you 19:07 can ask it to be more creative more 19:09 balanced or more precise 19:11 and then you can say 19:13 make an image 19:17 of a let's say make a photo 19:22 of a sunflower 19:28 bending toward the sunset 19:34 and so now it's going to actually make 19:37 one 19:37 so it says I'll try to create that 19:43 and 19:46 your image is generating 19:50 and this is pretty quick 19:53 there you go those are actually pretty 19:54 good 19:56 so bending toward the Sun 20:01 all right thank you so much for 20:03 explaining that it makes a lot of sense 20:05 I'm I am learning a beginner level 20:08 course on Coursera that's great and the 20:10 reason I have these domains on screen is 20:15 for exactly that like if you're just 20:16 getting started with this stuff 20:19 um there's all sorts of courses out 20:21 there there's all sorts of apps there's 20:23 all sorts of people telling you you 20:24 should try this you should try that you 20:26 should do this you can make movies you 20:28 can do bats 20:33 just go to the top one just go to 20:36 chat.openai.com that's chatgpt start to 20:40 get your head around what it can do I 20:42 mean they're the ones that invented this 20:44 thing that that set off to all these 20:46 fireworks not the fireworks on July 4th 20:49 the AI fireworks where everyone's 20:51 talking about it and everyone's like 20:53 it's gonna take my job and it's gonna 20:55 kill Humanity 20:57 that one 20:59 that's it right there 21:01 when you get there 21:03 it it's gonna be very unimpressive it's 21:07 gonna look like 21:09 that it's gonna look like all right well 21:13 what's that it's like a Google search 21:14 bar and nothing else 21:17 and then you ask it to do stuff and it 21:20 does it and it's really something let's 21:23 see create 21:25 um a flyer for 21:28 a flower stand 21:32 that 21:33 only sells 21:36 organic 21:38 flowers 21:41 to 21:43 children 21:44 I don't know 21:47 format in mark down so I can see the 21:53 sections 21:54 boom 21:55 and well it didn't 21:59 it actually wrote out the the markdown 22:02 code Organics flowers for kids 22:05 um 22:06 I want to see the layout 22:13 not the code 22:16 uh that's didn't do it it's I've I've 22:21 confused it 22:23 please 22:25 format 22:27 and mark down 22:31 um 22:33 where the design is rendered 22:38 try it one more time 22:40 nah didn't do it anyway 22:43 um it goes deep deep and so so go play 22:46 there and then if you're confused about 22:49 what to put in there and what to do go 22:51 to prompts.chat and that will teach you 22:53 how to do this stuff 22:55 can you give it access to your pictures 22:56 folder and have it write ads using your 22:58 images not yet silhouettes by Chris but 23:01 you know give it six months to a year 23:03 it's it's not quite there yet you can so 23:06 if you go to bing.com there's a new 23:08 thing you can do in bing.com this isn't 23:11 exactly doing what you're asking but 23:13 this is kind of interesting this is 23:14 something new that I found today 23:19 um I don't know how long it's been there 23:20 and and uh 23:23 someone else that I was talking to 23:24 didn't have this feature so if you go to 23:27 bing.com and go to chat you see down 23:30 here in the in this search bar over here 23:32 on the right there's a microphone if you 23:34 want to talk but there's also this 23:35 camera icon a picture I can actually 23:38 drag pictures in here so let me go find 23:41 a picture 23:42 let's see yeah that's a good one 23:46 uh no that's that's an Epub hang on 23:50 oh that's a movie 23:54 it's that that's a movie 23:56 all right that's good okay 23:58 so I'm gonna drag the picture into Bing 24:02 I'm gonna say 24:04 um write me 24:07 some copy 24:09 to go with this picture 24:12 that references 24:16 what's 24:18 in the image 24:21 and gets 24:23 people to buy a ticket I've never tried 24:28 this so This Might fail miserably 24:31 but it's a picture of a boat 24:34 like a big cruise ship 24:37 it says analyzing the image privacy blur 24:40 hides faces from Bing chat it says how 24:42 about this dream cruise have you ever 24:44 dreamed of sailing on a cruise ship that 24:46 can take you to places beyond your 24:48 imagination so it actually did it 24:52 silhouette by Chris 24:54 it's not bad that's way too long let me 24:56 stop it from there 24:58 um good now make it an Instagram length 25:06 copy 25:15 Dream Cruise sail beyond your 25:17 imagination join us for the most 25:19 incredible journey of your life 25:22 on a digital art masterpiece by a Adobe 25:25 Firefly that's really funny so it 25:27 actually read so there's a watermark in 25:29 that image because I created it with 25:31 Adobe Firefly 25:32 so in the bottom left hand corner of 25:34 that image this is fascinating 25:38 in the bottom left-hand corner it says 25:39 Adobe Firefly beta 25:42 image not for commercial use 25:45 so it actually read that 25:47 and it Incorporated it into the ad 25:49 explored paper mountains or origami 25:53 Islands folded forest and more 25:56 um 25:56 so I'm going to say 25:58 okay the style of the art is paper but 26:05 the 26:07 cruise is real 26:11 can you make an ad that 26:17 um 26:17 handles this in a clever way 26:23 let's see what it does let's do a little 26:25 copyright in here a little little GPT 26:27 copywriting 26:29 Dream Cruise where reality meets fantasy 26:32 ever wondered what it would be like to 26:33 sail on a cruise ship that you can take 26:34 to places beyond your imagination 26:37 a cruise ship so again it did it really 26:39 long oops 26:41 book your okay I'm gonna stop it there 26:43 I'm gonna say uh 26:46 make it much shorter 26:55 bam fun for the whole family bring field 27:00 on the most magical Cruise ever book now 27:02 and make your dreams come true let's say 27:04 you didn't 27:07 reference the paper 27:12 art this time let's see if it 27:16 if it can piece some of that together so 27:18 one of the things you can do with these 27:19 large language models is 27:22 um like like it kind of remembers what 27:24 you've been talking about so it 27:26 understands context bring your family on 27:29 board and enjoy the activities uh play 27:31 Relax learn most magical inspired by the 27:34 paper art of adobe Firefly that's pretty 27:36 funny all right so it wasn't perfect but 27:39 honest to God but the first thing that 27:41 it did the fact that it looked at that 27:43 saw that it was a cruise ship and then 27:44 actually wrote some copy about a Dream 27:46 Cruise so that's that's pretty much 27:48 there so if you're 27:51 Bing chat has that icon then you could 27:54 drag your images into here and start 27:56 interacting with it 28:02 all right 28:04 thank you for doing this on a regular 28:06 basis you're welcome my daughter found a 28:09 chat with AI game on Roblox Roblox that 28:12 claim to connect to chat gpt4 that 28:15 doesn't surprise me I know that there's 28:17 Roblox 28:19 um there's a bunch of stuff with Roblox 28:21 including 28:22 I saw a demo of 28:25 um a thing where you're going to be able 28:26 to just describe a world and it will 28:28 build it in Roblox so uh yeah that 28:32 stuff's coming 28:34 um our retail Link's typical surprised 28:36 me if you're using Bing retail links are 28:39 probably typical because they're they're 28:43 probably going to try to find ways to 28:45 monetize 28:46 to monetize your clicks I got a hair on 28:49 my glasses 28:51 all right 28:55 having 28:56 trouble having Bing on my Samsung 28:58 Android to do images yeah the the Bing 29:01 app on Android I don't know what 29:03 features it's got 29:05 um I would say you could also try going 29:08 to your browser on Android and 29:12 um 29:13 see if you can do it that way 29:16 um just go to bing.com on your browser 29:23 [Music] 29:26 all right 29:28 good question Silhouettes I agree that 29:30 was a good question 29:33 nice it's cited a reference I've toyed 29:36 with it a bit AI can write pretty 29:37 eloquently it does better if you give it 29:40 more context or if you give it examples 29:41 it's really good if you give it examples 29:45 [Music] 29:45 um 29:47 what about linking to a folder in the 29:49 cloud so 29:51 um 29:51 not yet 29:53 emphasis on yet that's coming 29:56 so both Google and Microsoft 30:00 um have uh indicated or you know demoed 30:04 that they're they're incorporating Bard 30:07 in Google's case and and GPT chat gbt in 30:11 Microsoft's case they're they're 30:12 incorporating it into their office suite 30:15 so included in their office suites are 30:17 cloud storage right so 30:20 um probably before the end of the year 30:22 we will see 30:24 both of those Services 30:27 um 30:27 where you know within Microsoft Word or 30:31 Excel or sheets or docs you'll have 30:34 writing assistance within there and 30:36 you'll be able to point them at Google 30:37 Drives now whether or not you can search 30:40 across all of your data in Google Drive 30:42 or just individual documents 30:45 um Dropbox just announced last week that 30:48 within Dropbox you can now select any 30:51 document within Dropbox and basically 30:53 GPT it 30:56 um and and they said they're starting 30:57 with single documents and then they're 30:58 going to move to multiple documents so 31:01 that's coming 31:02 if you're impatient and you're geeky 31:05 um go look up a project called Lang 31:07 chain and you can do that right now you 31:10 can embed your own data throw it into 31:12 what's called a vector database and 31:14 basically make your company GPT or your 31:17 docs GPT 31:19 um so that's that's possible to do right 31:21 now but you got to be a little geeky so 31:23 you could just have a little patience 31:24 and wait for these big ass companies to 31:26 figure this stuff out and just go I want 31:28 to point it there and then be able to 31:30 ask it questions and have it tell me 31:32 stuff like I'm super smart 31:35 could you please do that Microsoft 31:37 no I don't like Microsoft Apple would 31:40 you do that please 31:42 and they will 31:44 but you know if you ain't patient what 31:47 are you gonna do 31:50 if you're wondering why I'm acting like 31:52 an idiot that's just who I am 31:56 all right 31:57 that's how she rolls here at the AI 31:59 learning lab 32:02 commit Journey take an example photo and 32:04 modify it for you sort of and sort so 32:09 all of the image generation and 32:11 regeneration stuff is a little wonky 32:13 right now especially when you're trying 32:15 to take an image and modify it 32:17 you can upload an image to mid-journey 32:21 so you basically just drag an image 32:22 there I can show you how to do it you 32:24 drag an image there 32:27 upload it to Discord then you get a URL 32:29 for it and and you can do a prompt based 32:33 on an image there's also a remix 32:35 function 32:36 there's also just Adobe generative fill 32:40 where you can take an image and change 32:43 it so you could keep the core part of an 32:45 image let me go let me go find something 32:46 here 32:49 um let's do let me go to search 32:52 Bing search uh let's go uh fashion 33:00 shoot New York City 33:03 images 33:06 all right so we're gonna go grab an 33:08 image here 33:10 this one looks good though that one's 33:13 good well let's see which one do we want 33:15 to get 33:19 let me just grab that one 33:22 all right so I'm gonna go copy of it so 33:23 now I'm going to pop over to 33:26 Photoshop beta we're going to create a 33:28 new image we're going to paste that in 33:29 so there's our little there's our little 33:31 fashion shoot image 33:34 um and now we've got uh adobe's 33:36 generative fill is part of the Photoshop 33:38 beta so one thing I could do is I could 33:40 say well this was shot in portrait but I 33:43 actually need it in landscape 33:45 so let me go make it this big 33:50 and I'm going to go on ahead and select 33:54 everything but the image 33:59 and then I'm going to say generative 34:01 fill and I'm not going to put any prompt 34:02 in there I could put a prompt in there 34:03 but I'm not going to 34:06 and I'm just going to say generate and 34:08 it is going to figure out based on the 34:10 context of this image how to fill it out 34:12 and it's going to give us three options 34:15 and this in and of itself is pretty 34:17 magical 34:21 all right so now we've got an image 34:25 that looks like it's got a very weird 34:27 crashed car here like that's a very 34:29 bizarre car 34:31 um 34:32 that actually looks pretty normal 34:36 and that's messed up so we'll go with 34:38 that that normal one okay so now we have 34:41 this woman in 34:43 um 34:45 in a in a larger photo but let's say 34:47 she's got a black jacket there we were 34:50 actually hoping that she had on a red 34:54 jacket so 34:56 I'm gonna highlight the jacket 35:00 and I'm gonna say generative Fill 35:03 Red Jacket 35:08 and that will go off and do its thing 35:18 that's not red is it that's not red but 35:21 it's a different jacket well that's kind 35:23 of cool all right I like that one better 35:24 all right we just changed up our fashion 35:26 line so now we're gonna do let's do it 35:28 let's do another thing here 35:30 we're gonna do 35:33 um we'll select her 35:42 I know this is painful watching an old 35:44 guy use the lasso tool in Photoshop but 35:47 you know what do you want for free all 35:48 right so I selected her now I'm going to 35:50 invert it so now I'm selected everything 35:52 but her I'm going to say generative fill 35:54 and I'm going to say tropical 35:58 foreign 35:58 Forest 36:04 and it should replace this city shot 36:06 with her in a tropical rainforest 36:11 we'll see how well it does 36:16 look at that 36:19 now she's in a rainforest with a bunch 36:20 of tourists 36:23 I don't know what that we oh that one's 36:25 kind of cool 36:26 so there you go so 36:28 it's it's possible to do what you're 36:31 talking about you can kind of do it in 36:33 mid-journey you can kind of do it in 36:34 stable Fusion you can kind of do it in 36:36 Photoshop all these tools are going to 36:38 get much much much much much much much 36:40 much more sophisticated but right now 36:43 we're just a little early in this 36:46 process so 36:48 um it's gonna be a little janky it's 36:50 gonna be a little janky that's a that's 36:52 a technical term from the creative 36:54 business when something ain't quite 36:56 right it's a little janky 36:58 it's a little janky all right I've toyed 37:01 with it a bit AI can write pretty 37:03 eloquently it can 37:05 um I have a large picture photo can I 37:08 just start dumping them in bing and see 37:11 what it comes out with yeah 37:16 why not 37:17 yes yes you can 37:21 um I mean what I what I would practice 37:23 in being is practice getting it to do 37:26 good copy like understand how to prompt 37:28 it so that it gives you the kind of copy 37:30 you want or even better if you say 37:34 um 37:36 you know you upload the photo and then 37:38 you say I want you to create an ad 37:41 based on the contents of this photo 37:43 and copy the style and tone of this ad 37:47 copy that I paste in here right and then 37:49 you paste in some ad copy in there it'll 37:51 probably do that decently well I mean 37:54 the nice thing about Bing is it's free 37:55 and you can just keep 37:57 keep playing with it 37:59 it's intuitive let's see do 38:04 you know what would cause my desktop to 38:07 not load chat EBT my iPad 38:10 and phone work fine 38:13 I've clear cache just a blank screen try 38:17 um 38:19 try a different browser 38:21 and also try I have this I I have cash 38:25 issues with some of my browsers go to 38:27 your browser and say new incognito 38:29 window or private window and see if it 38:32 does it then and if it does it then then 38:33 you've got to clear your 38:35 your cash clear your your cookies and 38:38 your cash and all that stuff 38:41 um it's probably a cash issue 38:47 yeah that's weird that's weird 38:49 is there a mid-journey for Android 38:51 Android uh mid-journey you can only 38:53 generate mid-journey images in Discord 38:57 so there's a Discord client for Android 39:00 there's a Discord client for iOS there's 39:02 a Discord client for 39:05 um 39:05 desktop and there's a Discord 39:08 website so you can do it in all of them 39:11 but to generate mid-journey images you 39:14 have to go to I would like to see a cool 39:17 thing okay 39:18 so where I am right now is I'm at 39:19 po-po.com that's this is one of the 39:21 sites that I say go here and check this 39:24 out 39:25 so at the top here you've got 39:27 um the different chat GPT models but you 39:30 also have this explore button and create 39:32 bot Poe has a lot of these things called 39:35 Bots which let people create little 39:38 Standalone chat gpts that specialize and 39:41 if you go over here the very most 39:44 popular one 39:45 is called mid-journey so if you go to 39:47 po.com mid-journey 39:49 that takes you to this mid-journey bot 39:52 and I can now type in uh let's see 39:55 photo 39:58 um of 39:59 fashion model in rain forest so that's a 40:04 bad prompt 40:06 and then it will take that and rewrite 40:08 it as a better prompt specifically 40:10 designed for mid-journey so color photo 40:13 of a fashion model in the rainforest 40:14 wearing a vibrant red dress surrounded 40:16 by exotic plants and flowers ethereal 40:18 and dreamlike Misty atmosphere 40:21 this kind of Fujifilm that kind of lens 40:23 Tim Walker Ellen Von unworth and Peter 40:26 Lindberg so I can now just copy this 40:29 prompt that it wrote for me and I can 40:32 pop over to Discord 40:34 so here we are in Discord so I'm at the 40:36 this is the AI salons Discord and within 40:39 here we've got a mid-journey channel 40:42 and so here's some of the things that 40:44 people have been playing with from the 40:46 summer 40:48 that's that's French for Salah and the 40:52 way you make an image in mid-journey is 40:53 is you type slash imagine 40:57 and then it will pop up this thing to 40:59 put a prompt in and I've already got my 41:01 prompt copied and so I'm just going to 41:02 paste it in there and I'm going to hit 41:04 return 41:06 and this is going to go off now and make 41:10 us 41:11 an image of a fashion model in a 41:14 rainforest and we'll see how it does 41:16 mid-journey in my opinion is the best of 41:19 all of the image generation tools from a 41:21 quality standpoint it's stable diffusion 41:24 is best from a flexibility and developer 41:28 Community standpoint and Adobe Firefly 41:31 is the best for from a being able to use 41:35 the images in a commercial setting 41:37 standpoint and then Dolly which is the 41:40 underlying Tech behind open Ai and Bing 41:43 is the crappiest but you can call it 41:46 from an API really easily so 41:48 there you have it all right that's going 41:50 off and doing its thing let me see if 41:53 there's any other questions in here 41:55 thank you sir gonna go play with AI have 41:57 a great evening so long silhouettes by 42:00 Chris that's awesome is it possible on 42:02 GPT to drop in a pick just what I showed 42:05 in 42:07 um Bing which is GPT you can't do that 42:10 yet in chat GPT 42:14 exactly wanting to change an element in 42:16 a pattern oh yeah you can definitely do 42:18 that just do that with generative fill 42:20 did I wonder why that didn't 42:24 um that was weird that didn't normally 42:25 it will draw things it'll sort of show 42:29 it developing 42:31 but there's the uh 42:33 there's some of the images that 42:34 mid-journey created 42:36 of fashion model in a rainforest that's 42:39 pretty damn good 42:40 mid-journey's gotten so good this is 42:42 version 5.2 42:46 so there you have it 42:52 and then if you haven't played with 42:55 mid-journey 42:57 there's some new features 43:01 um let me go show them to you hang on 43:04 okay so now that this is here if you if 43:10 you haven't used mid-journey before hang 43:11 on 43:12 come on 43:14 come on 43:17 uh 43:20 Focus come on people focus 43:23 there we go all right all right so we've 43:26 got our images that were created if you 43:28 haven't used mid Journey before you get 43:30 these little things you one through four 43:32 V one through four if you hit any of the 43:35 v's that means variations and it's it's 43:37 image one two three four so 43:40 um I'm just gonna hit upscale for that 43:43 one that one looks decent so we'll grab 43:45 that one 43:46 so now it's going to make a large 43:47 version of this and now there's some new 43:49 features that we can play with in 43:50 mid-journey that are actually quite 43:52 exciting it's quite exciting 43:58 Okay so 44:00 you see zoom out 2x zoom out 1.5 X 44:04 custom Zoom make Square this is pan left 44:07 pan right pan up pan down now the pans 44:11 are really interesting so 44:13 what we're gonna do is we're gonna do 44:16 pan right 44:20 and 44:22 what that's going to do is it's going to 44:24 add 44:26 image to the right so if I do a zoom it 44:29 actually just zooms out and fills all 44:31 around it it's called out painting 44:33 what the pan does is it actually is 44:35 going to move it in the direction that I 44:38 want it to move 44:41 and that should be doing its thing you 44:44 can also hit custom Zoom 44:50 this is zoom two so I'm going to do Zoom 44:53 1.5 but I'm going to change the aspect 44:57 ratio to 16 by 9. 45:01 so I'm going to make this much wider 45:03 than tall 45:06 so now I'm going to have two different 45:07 variations of this 45:11 and hopefully that'll go pretty soon so 45:13 anyway that's mid Journey so so you do 45:15 that within Discord so whatever platform 45:17 you are on do it within Discord 45:23 um 45:26 so here are these things it's kind of 45:28 building 45:29 it's building you can see it's sort of 45:31 blurry here you get some image here and 45:33 it's blurry here 45:43 it's doing its thing 45:48 so that's mid Journey 45:50 All Right 45:52 Moving On 45:55 um 45:55 [Music] 45:58 I'm gonna do another question or two oh 46:01 my God if you can text off filters you 46:04 can ask it to generate a picture of 46:06 literally anything yes exactly 46:09 you can ask it to make a picture of 46:11 literally anything 46:13 yes 46:14 that's what this shit's about like and 46:16 and that's the image side and then the 46:18 word stuff the chat GPT stuff I'm 46:20 showing here is the word equivalent of 46:22 that and the data equivalent of that and 46:25 the 46:26 programming code equivalent of that and 46:28 that that's that's 46:31 what these tools are are think of it 46:35 like a creativity amplifier 46:38 where anything that you can imagine you 46:40 can now realize some version of it like 46:44 80 of it within seconds 46:48 for a few minutes 46:51 um that's awesome good awesome 46:54 um it's only digital disaster it is it 46:57 is special uh what do you think about AI 47:01 image search sites like Prime eyes seems 47:04 like they're very powerful but 47:07 foreign 47:11 I mean listen the the AI image search 47:14 sites are fine I don't know that one I I 47:17 assume there's another one called uh 47:20 Lexica where you can see the actual 47:22 prompt that made up the image I think 47:24 that's that's good it's those sites are 47:26 a very good way if you're especially if 47:28 you're just getting started 47:30 with um 47:32 especially if you're just getting 47:34 started with this stuff 47:35 those sites can be quite um quite 47:38 powerful for helping you understand how 47:40 people do the prompting 47:44 uh forgot about Discord yep all right 47:47 thanks uh I'll try Incognito and see if 47:50 that works love hanging out in here lots 47:51 of fun great I love that heavy mid 47:53 Journey user here and always struggling 47:55 to get the prompt right yeah the the uh 47:58 the poe uh mid-journey prompt there's 48:01 another one called MJ captainpo.com MJ 48:04 Captain that's pretty good 48:06 um I'll wait for the magic let me go see 48:08 if if any of the Discord stuff turned 48:10 out to be magic or if it was just clip 48:13 now those are pretty good here oh yeah 48:15 there you are let's see 48:22 come on 48:26 there we go 48:28 um so those are the ones that I extended 48:30 to the right they all look pretty good 48:31 actually 48:32 and then this is the one that I extended 48:34 out 48:36 um 48:41 right where she was it was a vertical 48:43 photo before 48:45 and like this this one's really good 48:47 with the with this blurred out flower in 48:49 the foreground her in the background and 48:51 the big creepy tree behind her 48:55 pretty pretty wild stuff 48:57 his magic I tell you is Magic 49:00 Arthur C Clarke any significantly 49:03 advanced technology is indistinguishable 49:06 from Magic 49:08 this is [ __ ] magic It's Magic I tell 49:11 you it's magic 49:16 it is the dashboard to turn on or off a 49:19 bunch of cool settings oh wait oh oh 49:22 don't forget to mention the settings in 49:24 mid Journey okay 49:25 one is you can say 49:28 um 49:30 uh you can say uh Slash settings 49:37 and it will show you 49:40 all of your different settings so you've 49:42 got 49:43 mid Journey one through five 5.1 5.2 raw 49:47 mode niji version which is like anime 49:50 kind of stuff over here 49:52 stylized low medium high very high 49:54 public mode remix mode so there's lots 49:57 of different things you can do so this 49:58 kind of let you know gives you hints on 50:00 on what's available 50:02 um you can also do slash describe I 50:04 think do you just describe first 50:07 yeah so you can say describe and now I 50:10 can go find an image 50:16 let's see oh let's let's have it we'll 50:18 have it describe this boat one that we 50:20 used 50:22 um 50:28 that we used in bing so there's the boat 50:30 image so I said slash describe there's 50:32 the boat image and what it's going to do 50:34 now is it's going to read that image and 50:36 it's gonna 50:37 come up with four different 50:40 um 50:43 prompts that could have made that a 50:45 cruise ship traveling in the sea at 50:47 Sunset by paper in the style of 50:49 postmodernist culture as culturalism 50:53 culture 50:55 yeah culturism 50:58 weird word 50:59 um 51:00 extremely detailed art and the next one 51:02 is photorealistic paper cut out Cruise 51:04 graphics and the style of 51:06 uh 51:08 ivinned Earl 51:10 cruise ship floating on the October so 51:12 so what I can do is I can say imagine 51:14 all of them 51:16 so it gives me four different prompts I 51:18 can now say imagine all of them so now 51:20 it's re-rendering 51:23 four new original images 51:25 not based on that image but based on 51:28 descriptions of the the image that it 51:30 got from looking at the image 51:33 so so this is a way that you can get 51:35 very very creative without even really 51:37 having to do any prompting just go find 51:39 images you like have it describe what it 51:43 sees and then start to modify those 51:45 prompts based on the results you're 51:47 getting 51:48 so wild wild stuff 51:53 oh these look like they're going to be 51:54 very cool 52:00 [Music] 52:14 [Music] 52:17 and if you notice how they're sort of 52:19 they start out really blurry like very 52:21 blurry and they get more and more and 52:22 more detailed that's the nature of how 52:25 the technology works it's called 52:26 diffusion so it starts as these diffused 52:29 things 52:30 and then it 52:35 gets more and more detailed it does all 52:37 these different denoising passes 52:40 effectively these are super cool 52:44 that one in the upper right is really 52:46 cool I'm gonna I'm gonna upscale that 52:48 one U2 52:49 is an upscale for that one this one's 52:52 crazy too 52:55 huh well upscale four there 52:59 we'll upscale three here 53:03 and that one's still building 53:09 oh that one's interest this one says 53:11 cruise with Surfers silhouette 53:15 and it did a bunch of VW that's these 53:18 are VW buses instead of a cruise ship 53:21 this one has a ship in it but these 53:22 three are VW buses with a surfboard on 53:24 it that's wild 53:27 but anyway there's your 53:31 high-end art based on a description of 53:33 an image that I uploaded 53:36 wild right isn't it crazy are you crazy 53:39 it's just cuckoo I tell you it's cuckoo 53:44 all right 53:52 everything not blocked by filters don't 53:55 know what that means see you tomorrow 53:56 night it's 1am I'm a dad tired thanks 53:59 for everything you do I know it's I had 54:02 a I had a salon tonight so I'm a little 54:03 crispy myself I'm gonna I'm gonna get 54:05 out of here soon I'll do a couple more 54:07 questions though 54:09 um mid-journey is up to PG-13 yeah I 54:12 know it's it you can I think it's got 54:16 some safety stuff in it but it it does 54:18 look a little 54:19 it sexualizes women just because that's 54:23 how the training data you know 54:25 does it you can you can get around it 54:28 but that's a bit of a pain in the ass 54:35 um 54:36 PM pmis I guess it's called 54:39 we'll show you any image that's been 54:41 linked to a website that is crawlable 54:44 oh I don't know that that's AI I think 54:46 that's just a search engine isn't it 54:48 things like lexicon are actually showing 54:50 you AI generated art the implications 54:52 are wide-ranging yes many many in deep 54:55 implications suggestion for a way to add 54:57 a few big bold words within my 55:01 my mid-journey prompt 55:04 um just add them in there 55:06 or take your mid-journey prompt over to 55:09 chat GPT and say 55:11 fill this full of fancy words or go get 55:15 some documentation for how mid-journey 55:18 um 55:19 for the different parameters you can put 55:20 in a mid-journey prompt 55:22 paste that into Chachi BT and then paste 55:26 in your mid Journey prompt and tell it 55:27 to improve it based on you know by 55:30 adding some of those things up above 55:34 um I was gonna say but these image 55:36 searches aren't well known by Joe public 55:40 um 55:41 do you recommend buying the annual 55:43 membership to any AI programs I do not 55:46 because 55:48 everything's changing so fast right now 55:50 even though you might save the 20 you 55:53 might be buying a Year's worth of a 55:55 service that's obsolete in two months 55:57 so I would do it month by one month by 55:59 month 56:00 I mean the only one I could potentially 56:02 justify for myself would be 56:04 chat.openai.com the the top one right 56:07 there 56:08 but but even that 56:10 like 56:13 Google at some point is going to have 56:14 some competitor to gpt4 that's going to 56:17 be good 56:19 um anthropic's gonna have something 56:21 that's going to rival it pretty soon 56:24 um I would be really surprised if meta 56:26 didn't get their [ __ ] together pretty 56:28 soon so it's just there's just too much 56:31 moving too fast right now that for me to 56:34 put an annual bet on almost anything 56:40 um 56:44 I see a lot of people doing kids 56:45 coloring books yep with numbered 56:48 sections yep saves money and they're 56:50 selling them 56:51 I was saying that mid-journey will do 56:53 anything but filters block a lot oh I 56:55 see yeah well and if you want to if if 56:57 the filters are driving you crazy on 56:59 mid-journey because of the safety stuff 57:01 go start playing with stable diffusion 57:02 it's there's open source and there's a 57:05 massive developer Community there go to 57:07 the subreddits uh the stable diffusion 57:09 subreddits and start geeking out on 57:12 stable diffusion and you can go do all 57:14 the adult content you want 57:15 would love to see mid-journey hooked up 57:18 to chat gbt it will be it'll get there 57:21 thanks again you're welcome ha you can 57:24 have one AI improve the work of another 57:28 you can and that's going to increasingly 57:30 be what happens 57:31 um listen everybody thanks for hanging 57:33 out with me I just did a short little 57:35 session tonight I gotta go it's late 57:37 it's 11 12 here in Denver Colorado uh 57:41 but ready 57:42 um the first three will let you play 57:44 with chat GPT the prompts dot thing will 57:47 teach you about prompting and then 57:49 futurepedia.io is just a big directory 57:51 of lots of AI tools so if you want to 57:53 geek out and run down down some rabbit 57:54 holes do it there thanks everybody peace 57:57 out
