Description

In this engaging TikTok session, the conversation revolves around the evolution of generative AI tools, particularly focusing on MidJourney, and the transformative potential they hold for creativity and productivity. The host passionately articulates the importance of adaptability, curiosity, and critical thinking as essential skills for navigating the rapidly changing landscape of AI technologies. By illustrating how these attributes enhance our ability to interact with generative AI—like creating stunning visuals from simple prompts—viewers are encouraged to embrace a mindset of exploration rather than fear. The discussion emphasizes that the true value of generative AI lies in its capacity to augment human creativity and decision-making rather than replace it. Another key theme is the significance of community in the journey towards AI literacy. The host advocates for collaboration and shared learning through platforms like the AI Salon, where individuals can explore AI's potential together. This nurturing environment fosters curiosity and experimentation, allowing participants to leverage tools like MidJourney and Deco to create innovative content. As the conversation wraps up, the host highlights the responsibility of users to engage with these technologies ethically while recognizing the profound impact they can have on various aspects of life, from accessibility to creative expression. 3:10 [Music]
3:13 know I mean part of the whole thing with
3:15 rapping is you know good words you know
3:17 words good you
3:21 don't he's a dog he doesn't know
3:24 words so I'm not being speciesist
3:30 [Music]
3:34 if he gets better at words he can rap I
3:35 don't mind him
3:37 rapping but he's got to get basic gra
3:40 grasp of the English language you
3:43 know what are we supposed to wait around
3:45 until AI can speak
3:47 dog oh yeah well we'll probably have
3:50 that but that's not the point
3:55 [Music]
4:14 wait you feeling nervous aren you
4:19 boy with your quiet
4:22 voice and impeccable
4:25 [Music]
4:27 style don't ever let them Ste Ste your
4:31 joy and your gentle ways to keep them
4:35 from running
4:38 wild they can kick dir in your face
4:41 dress you down and tell you that your
4:43 place is in the middle when they hate
4:46 the way you
4:48 [Music]
4:50 shine I see you tugging on your
4:53 shirt trying to hide inside of it hide
4:57 how much it hurts
5:00 let them laugh while they
5:04 care let them
5:07 spin let them scatter in the
5:12 wind I have been to the movies I've seen
5:17 how
5:19 and on them
5:27 [Music]
5:52 you get discouraged don't you
5:56 girl it's your brother's world for a

6:12 river stream call it living the
6:15 dream call a kicking a
6:19 ladder they come to kick dirt in your

6:35 desert I don't know those
6:37 [Music]
6:42 words what' you do last night uh I
6:46 watched some old guy try to remember
6:50 words to a
6:53 song how long did you watch him
6:55 for like 2
6:58 hours what are you doing with your life
7:01 I don't know I think I need
7:04 [Music]
7:28 help simp in this lonely
7:33 Town wonder when things are going to
7:38 change dream my life
7:41 away seems these dreams have turned to a
7:44 bunch dusk
7:48 clouds get my nerve up with my past is
7:52 pulling me down that's funny Silver Fox
7:55 last night I watched an old guy with a
7:56 pink fuzzy bow in his head
8:00 [Music]
8:08 somebody told me once before he said you
8:11 can never go home
8:14 again won't you
8:16 leave say things to steer me away yeah
8:22 of the truth of who I am and what I
8:25 believe so I thanked him for his two
8:27 cents with a handshake
8:30 and some sympathy
8:33 yeah packed up my blue
8:36 jeans and headed for this big
8:40 price of my
8:44 freedom
8:45 byebye Black Sheep to the black sheep of
8:50 the
8:52 family
8:54 [Music]
8:56 byebye oh it means so very much to me
9:00 yeah
9:02 byebye Black Sheep to my friends and my
9:09 family
9:12 byebye going off and set my
9:17 soul set it
9:19 [Music]
9:27 free oh good people of The Tick Tock
9:30 good people of The Tick
9:33 Tock I actually have some some fun ideas
9:36 for tonight I don't know if they're fun
9:41 ideas we're going to dig deep into mid
9:43 Journey which I said we were going to do
9:45 last night but we're actually going to
9:46 do it
9:49 tonight and rather than just say here's
9:51 how to use this tool and just do my
9:53 normal sort
9:55 of process vomit where I just like move
9:58 really fast and do [ __ ]
10:00 I'm going to actually try to figure out
10:02 where I'm switching
10:04 modes so when we talk about
10:08 um
10:11 agility human agility the ability
10:16 to to have aptitude for generative AI it
10:20 isn't really about skills there's some
10:23 skills in
10:25 there but probably for the next 3 years
10:28 maybe the next 5 years
10:31 the real skills are not going to be I
10:33 took a course on Mid Journey the real
10:35 skills are going to be things like
10:36 critical thinking and curiosity and
10:39 adaptability and drive and and curation
10:44 and CR and uh uh taste judgment being
10:49 able to adapt right I mean imagine
10:53 imagine
10:54 getting taking a course taking a
10:56 workshop and getting really good at a
10:58 particular kind of
11:00 building a particular kind of
11:02 Automation and then a version of AI
11:05 comes out that just does that
11:06 automatically well if you're
11:10 rigid it's going to wreck you so you're
11:13 going to have to be flexible and
11:16 [Music]
11:18 adaptable and I think because of my
11:20 neuros spiciness and my ADHD I'm going
11:22 to I I kind of naturally do some of
11:25 these things so it's not natural for me
11:29 to articulate them or figure out oh
11:31 that's where I'm being creative or
11:33 curious that you know where where are
11:35 these different
11:37 modes but what I do know about
11:39 generative AI is that there's a lot of
11:42 mode switching there's a lot of
11:43 switching back and forth between right
11:46 brain left brain just [ __ ] around to
11:50 going in and actually doing things with
11:53 [Music]
11:54 intention and then there's a lot of
11:58 discernment and judg ment and taste and
12:01 curation
12:02 [Music]
12:13 [Applause]
12:15 [Music]
12:56 Freedom came away that night
13:00 [Music]
13:03 just like a jet plane in and out of
13:08 sight I was hauling ass at a million
13:11 miles an
13:13 hour wondering how hard i'
13:17 [Music]
13:19 here when they came into the
13:27 stair they said I was better that beond
13:32 repairs but I got no quals with my
13:38 [Music]
13:39 situation say here I
13:44 [Music]
13:47 am so say Shere Shere Shere w't you D to
13:56 say Shere Shere Shere want you d
14:00 to say sh sh sh call me out sent a gift
14:06 thank you for that if other people sent
14:08 gifts and I didn't see it sorry for that
14:11 but thank you for anyone sending gifts
14:13 much
14:15 appreciated unnecessary
14:25 [Music]
14:42 that's a nice chord
14:46 [Music]
14:51 progression Champion you want to sing it
14:53 you want to sing
14:55 [Music]
15:05 [Applause]
15:05 [Music]
15:07 [Applause]
15:07 [Music]
15:23 I mean cause you in a
15:25 [Music]
15:27 sorrow to me cause you in a
15:31 [Music]
15:35 pain only one one time to see you
15:41 laughing only want to see you laughing
15:45 in that purple rain Purple Rain Purple
15:49 [Music]
15:52 Rain Purple Rain Purple Rain
15:56 [Music]
15:59 my dog is barking she can't tell if it's
16:02 that's just champ be singing Purple Rain
16:05 Purple
16:07 [Music]
16:11 Rain only want to see it laughing in
16:13 that purple rain
16:15 [Applause]
16:19 [Music]
16:34 I guess we could get started
16:36 here I have a dragon egg so we're okay
16:41 we're going to be all right got the
16:43 dragon egg I got the button you can make
16:47 money with CHP I don't know if you knew
16:49 this you can make money with chat GPT
16:51 like I got this button thinking it was a
16:55 joke it's not a joke you can you can
16:56 make money what you do is you what you
16:59 say to people is you can make money with
17:01 chat gbt and then you uh sell them a
17:05 course on how they can make money with
17:07 chat GPT so you make M it's not it's not
17:11 making money with chat GPT it's making
17:13 money talking about chat it's it's it's
17:16 kind of like Tony Robbins but for chat
17:20 GPT if you just come to the one free
17:23 seminar the three-day weekend getaway is
17:26 going to change everything for you it's
17:28 just the
17:29 the $15,000 just give us the 15,000 for
17:33 the three-day seminar and you make M
17:36 it's going to be so good it's going to
17:38 be so
17:45 good so we're going to do that we can
17:47 make money with chat GPT if you
17:51 want so what I would like you to do my
17:53 name's Kyle Shannon by the way I'm a bit
17:55 of a smartass if you don't know
17:57 that that's one of the
18:00 deals sometimes I say things as if
18:02 they're
18:03 serious and it's kind of like it's a
18:09 joke I think I learned that from
18:11 Letterman back in the
18:13 day he just had that dry delivery where
18:15 we would say just stupid [ __ ] straight
18:17 to the camera
18:19 cold crack me the [ __ ] up thank you for
18:22 the joy you bring the pink bow
18:23 screenshot is in my camera roll thank
18:26 you Daisy may I don't I I could go get
18:29 the pink bow if we need to so if you
18:32 missed it last night I what are you
18:34 doing with your life you should have
18:35 been okay first of all if you don't come
18:37 here every
18:42 night that it's probably means you're
18:45 mentally stable
18:47 um if you don't come here every night
18:50 this is very Forest gumping this this
18:53 show thank you Silver Fox um it's very
18:56 gumping right life is like of chocolates
19:02 yeah never know what you're going to get
19:07 yeah last night you got pink bows you
19:10 got fat man and a pink
19:11 [Music]
19:15 bow it's kind of like you're funny
19:18 sometimes this is my theory on
19:21 Comedy um shoot every shot try to any
19:26 joke that pops in your head put it in
19:28 the world
19:30 nine out of the 10 of them will fail but
19:33 it's that 10th one man you're just going
19:35 for the buzz you're going for the
19:36 adrenaline hit I made it funny I made it
19:39 funny crack people up most of the times
19:41 I just crack myself up at how absolutely
19:44 ludicrous the attempt at comedy
19:50 was that gives me great joy the other
19:53 thing that gives me great joy is when
19:55 I'm being stupid for an extended period
19:58 of time no knowing that people are
19:59 flicking through Tik Tok and they they
20:02 stumble upon me acting like an idiot and
20:04 they're like what is what is
20:07 this that just I don't know what it is
20:10 about that that gives me I think that's
20:12 the most Joy I get on this channel is
20:14 just knowing that I'm [ __ ] with
20:15 people sometimes I haven't been doing
20:18 enough of that lately we got to get back
20:19 to
20:20 [Laughter]
20:23 that one of one of my favorites whenever
20:26 I'm trying to figure out something on
20:28 Tik Tok one of my favorites is is
20:32 uh hey hey Marge
20:35 Marge yeah hey how do I how do I know if
20:38 the Tik tok's
20:40 on so the on the
20:43 what you put you put it on the what if I
20:47 can see my face it's on I I'm right
20:51 here that me that means it oh they can
20:54 see
20:55 me
20:57 oh who are who are
21:01 they
21:08 huh you know is't that fantastic
21:11 someone's just flicking through Tik Tok
21:12 they're like oh that poor old man his
21:15 poor
21:16 [Laughter]
21:20 wife Source camp in the house we can
21:22 start now thank
21:24 [Music]
21:27 goodness Mar is always so help
21:30 I'll tell you what if it weren't for
21:31 March this channel wouldn't
21:37 exist cuz you know what it is she
21:39 volunteers down at the library she
21:41 volunteers at the library and the the
21:44 kids down there they teach her about the
21:47 Tik
21:47 Tock they they they they they teach her
21:50 phrases like on fleek she came home the
21:53 other day and she was like you know
21:54 you're on fleek and I was like how dare
21:57 you I put a bomb on
22:02 [Laughter]
22:07 that
22:13 liberry oh good
22:17 lord if you can avoid it just don't
22:21 age but listen not for nothing have you
22:24 heard about
22:26 L you going to be leving
22:30 anybody know what Lev is if you don't
22:33 know what Lev is you're going to
22:36 [Music]
22:40 die everybody's going to die
22:43 Kyle not if you hit Lev life escape
22:50 velocity that is the theory that if we
22:52 can survive the next 5 years 3 years 5
22:55 years probably more like five years
22:57 [Music]
23:00 AI will have cured
23:03 aging and I we just be like [ __ ]
23:05 zombie
23:07 vampires how old are you 132 good Lord
23:11 you don't look at day over 70
23:15 [Music]
23:28 [Applause]
23:31 two block Toms
23:35 [Music]
23:37 in I just uploaded my Consciousness to
23:39 the cloud perfect oh I'll just upload my
23:41 Consciousness to the cloud that's
23:43 actually something I'm I'm I'm deeply
23:45 fascinated in right now is the whole
23:47 idea of digital Twins and what you
23:49 choose what you choose to represent
23:51 yourself and how you represent
23:54 yourself and I know the the the digital
23:57 twins that meta just put out they kind
23:58 of look look at all your posts that
23:59 you've ever done so they create kind of
24:01 a thing that's based on you based on all
24:03 your
24:05 posts we're we're coming into some weird
24:11 times no aging almost 88 oh 8 billion
24:16 people on the planet right now ai better
24:18 figure out space travel too or we're F I
24:21 don't know weever hooked if you listen
24:22 to musk he's like you know we're not
24:24 making enough babies so we're [ __ ]
24:26 he's trying to single-handedly populate
24:28 the planet
24:29 [Music]
24:40 um they wait the something the cloud
24:42 would break if I uploaded my
24:44 Consciousness that's not true Corey
24:46 Sandler you're very sweet you would make
24:48 the the cloud a much better
24:50 place this year's X priz is a longevity
24:53 competition yeah like I the the the Lev
24:56 people are quite serious about this I
24:58 mean there's actually um a dog right now
25:03 that it was a 12-year-old dog that had
25:05 some shitty form of cancer and they gave
25:07 it this longevity pill that caps the
25:12 telr in your DNA so apparently I don't
25:15 know enough about this [ __ ] but
25:17 apparently on the end of your DNA are
25:20 these things called telr which are like
25:21 caps that keep them from unraveling and
25:23 as you age those things get shitty and
25:26 your DNA unravels and then all hell
25:28 breaks loose
25:29 well apparently they gave this dog some
25:31 [ __ ] pill that caps the telr or caps
25:34 the ends of the DNA I don't whatever the
25:35 [ __ ] it does and like revers the cancer
25:38 reverse the
25:41 aging and now it's like a pey young
25:43 spritey doggy
25:44 again
25:46 so apparently that's going into some
25:48 sort of human trial
25:50 [Music]
25:53 now it's getting weird
25:55 people so I think what we'll do tonight
25:58 we're going to talk
25:59 about the information put
26:02 out an article today on Project
26:06 strawberry also called project
26:08 Orion which Jimmy apples talked about in
26:12 November of
26:14 2023 November of
26:18 2023 do you remember that month do you
26:21 remember what happened in that
26:24 [Music]
26:26 month that was when they fired Sam Alman
26:30 [Music]
26:36 so apparently open AI has
26:39 had this reasoning engine
26:42 for some time now and I'm guessing
26:47 that's why Altman got fired
26:49 and so anyway that thing came out today
26:52 so it looks like
27:01 open AI is using this reasoning engine
27:05 to generate synthetic data to train GPT
27:09 6 so apparently they have GPT 5 they've
27:12 got this Orion strawberry qar thing
27:16 that's a reasoning
27:19 engine and apparently it's all um rather
27:23 than releasing it they're using it to
27:26 generate synthetic data so if you don't
27:29 know what synthetic data is like with
27:31 normal chat GPT they went out and they
27:34 they used all these illegal web scrapers
27:38 that just scraped all the data and they
27:40 scraped it behind pay walls and they you
27:42 know they you know all of them did this
27:45 including open Ai and so they scraped
27:47 all the data well they're running out of
27:52 data and so what they're doing is
27:54 they're making new data they're using
27:56 chat GPT with reasoning to to generate
27:59 data to train the new systems so I don't
28:01 know what the hell's going on but anyway
28:03 it sounds like fall of
28:08 24 which you know next week is Labor Day
28:11 is it Labor Day right next week's Labor
28:15 Day and then we're in the
28:19 fall so maybe in September maybe in
28:25 October we're going to get a new model
28:27 from open AI That's going to
28:30 be pretty big pretty
28:33 amazing and it's going to change a lot
28:35 going to change a
28:38 lot so that that story's got a little
28:41 bit of meat back on it because the
28:44 information is a well researched
28:48 rag
28:51 um so I don't think we need to talk more
28:53 about that cuz there's nothing really
28:54 here yet but if you're curious about it
28:57 go go look up
28:59 project Orion let me see what
29:23 the oh this is
29:26 cool hold please
29:33 okay here's what we're going to
29:36 do I'm going to change the
29:40 subject all right let me go
29:50 find what is going on
29:52 here reload
30:00 the hell is
30:09 happening I have no idea what's going on
30:11 here
30:28 close that close
30:32 that close
30:35 that go to my profile so I'm going if
30:39 you want to follow along at home please
30:41 follow along but always remember no
30:48 wagering all right so if you go to my
30:51 profile and go to my articles this is an
30:54 article that I
30:55 wrote with Kevin Clark
30:58 called rise of the agile
31:01 human and the intent of this article was
31:05 really to be for people in larger
31:09 companies to be able to identify who
31:13 within their company is going to be good
31:14 at AI at generative AI right making AI
31:19 building AI systems you know that's
31:20 still going to be engineers and things
31:22 like that but the generative AI stuff
31:24 the stuff that all of us get to play
31:26 with it who's going to be good at that
31:28 and as this stuff gets more and more
31:32 powerful and it starts to automate the
31:34 tasks of a lot of the jobs a lot of the
31:37 workers you may not need as many workers
31:41 or you might be able to make more [ __ ]
31:44 you make as a business with the same
31:46 amount of
31:49 people but if you don't need as many
31:51 people who do you
31:52 keep do you keep your most skilled
31:56 workers the ones with the skills like
32:00 copywriting and data analysis and things
32:03 like that if the AI is going to be able
32:05 to do that I don't think
32:08 so and so what this article is is
32:12 about who are the people that are going
32:15 to really do well and what's cool about
32:17 this
32:18 list is that this list of components of
32:22 being an agile human is that these are
32:25 these are learnable things some people
32:27 are more naturally like this than others
32:30 but even if you're not these are things
32:32 that you can develop and
32:35 so so the the components of
32:40 this way of
32:46 thinking curiosity is one of them are
32:50 you curious are you looking around
32:53 trying to find
32:55 stuff are you noting it are you paying
32:58 attention are you showing up to the AI
33:00 learning lab night after night why would
33:02 you do that well cuz maybe something
33:05 will show up here that you're like I
33:06 hadn't seen that holy [ __ ] that's cool
33:09 Drive is another one what motivates you
33:12 are you
33:14 motivated are you someone who
33:17 is who likes figuring [ __ ] out are you
33:20 someone that likes solving problems are
33:22 you someone that has
33:24 ambition to take things to the next
33:26 level I think that's going to be a
33:27 require
33:29 as if everything changes it's going to
33:32 be really easy to sit back and go ah
33:36 [ __ ] it I'll just let them figure it
33:40 out that's going to create a world of
33:43 hurt for people
33:45 creativity is another one are you
33:47 creative are you thinking like well how
33:49 can I how can I look at this in a
33:51 different
33:52 way critic critical thinking
34:02 right critical thinking are you thinking
34:05 about why are we doing this what are we
34:07 trying to accomplish who's the audience
34:10 here what do they
34:12 want what's our business what does it
34:16 need
34:17 right discernment
34:20 taste we already live in a world if
34:22 you've done any any kind of Creation
34:25 with generative AI any any amount of it
34:29 what you quickly realize is that you get
34:32 completely overwhelmed with the
34:34 options you get completely overwhelmed
34:37 with here's 37 drafts of that paper in
34:40 15
34:42 minutes here's 472 images all of which
34:47 could be good enough to be the cover of
34:48 your book which one do you
34:51 choose right so discernment cha uh taste
34:55 judgment
34:59 you know how how do you make good
35:00 judgment in complex
35:03 situations how do you make ethical
35:05 choices when there's no good clear path
35:08 forward do you have good judgment and
35:10 then the final one is
35:13 adaptability do you have the ability to
35:17 let it slide off your back you put two
35:20 weeks into building that automation that
35:22 all of a sudden it just is now a feature
35:25 in the large language model that you use
35:29 do you go whine and cry in the
35:33 corner nope well you
35:36 can not going to serve
35:40 you so what I thought would be cool let
35:42 me see how do I want to do this I want
35:44 to grab these
35:46 words let me just go right I'm going to
35:49 go hang hang on
35:54 people um let's do a plus
36:00 let's do
36:17 a
36:23 the
36:25 agile agile
36:32 human I'm looking for a man in finance
36:35 trust fund 65 blue
36:39 eyes the agile human
36:45 um
36:50 aptitude over skills
36:59 AP rude AP aptitude over skills so we've
37:05 got
37:12 curiosity Drive
37:15 creativity
37:18 Drive creativity I may add to these as
37:21 as we start really working through these
37:23 and exploring these critical thinking
37:33 discernment
37:42 taste oh nice s a gami thing thank you J
37:46 chillo and then adapt uh
37:52 judgment and adaptability
38:02 so if you manage
38:08 people think about who in your
38:11 organization is really scores high on
38:14 these on these
38:21 components and think who's who scores
38:25 low you may have someone sitting as an
38:28 administrative
38:30 assistant that is like world class at
38:32 these but don't have skills they didn't
38:35 they went to Junior
38:37 College they didn't study whatever the
38:40 high paying jobs are in your company but
38:43 they're really good at this
38:46 [ __ ] that would be a good person to
38:50 upskill and give them access to Ai and
38:53 put them on committees
38:58 and if you've got someone who is the
39:00 most talented at a specific skill but
39:03 actually is really shitty at a lot of
39:06 these that might be something someone
39:09 you keep an eye on
39:12 as AI evolves because if they don't move
39:15 into this space they're going to be less
39:18 and less valuable over
39:21 time and then for yourself
39:25 personally what where are you
39:28 do you have Natural Curiosity are you
39:30 constantly like oh I'd like to know that
39:32 I'd like to know that that's something
39:33 you can develop I gave an exercise two
39:36 days ago on my Tik Tok channel that was
39:38 like or was was it yesterday it was two
39:40 days
39:41 ago or maybe it was yesterday I don't
39:43 [ __ ] know doesn't
39:45 matter to go out and have a conversation
39:47 with chat GPT about a topic you know
39:50 nothing about you could do that every
39:52 day you could do that every morning Jim
39:54 Ross who's in this channel quite a bit
39:58 every morning every
40:01 morning this is this is
40:04 Drive every morning Jim Ross spends an
40:07 hour who's J chillo thank you so much
40:09 for the roses and the gifts anyone who
40:11 given me gifts thank you so much really
40:13 appreciate it
40:15 um Jim Ross every morning spends an
40:21 hour creating [ __ ] for his business
40:25 using AI
40:26 tools he he doesn't know what he's going
40:28 to
40:30 do but he does it like brushing his
40:32 teeth that's
40:36 Drive he's also super adaptable he's
40:39 also got good critical thinking skills
40:42 he's thinking like okay I need to do
40:45 some
40:46 marketing I've got these AI tools what
40:48 could I do well I don't know so he asked
40:51 chat GPT and then chat GPT gives him
40:53 options and he's he's constantly
40:55 thinking about how do I move these Lego
40:56 blocks around
40:58 so what I thought would be kind of fun
41:02 is let's do a deep dive into mid Journey
41:08 mid Journey if you don't know well if
41:11 you don't know what it is at all it's an
41:15 image generation tool and it's in my
41:17 opinion right
41:18 now still the image generation tool it's
41:22 the best of what's out there now there's
41:23 some new competition there's flux
41:28 which is an open source model that's
41:29 showing up in all sorts of tools there's
41:31 a new thing that came out today on free
41:33 pick called Mystic which is apparently a
41:35 mid Journey killer every new model that
41:37 comes out they're like this is the mid
41:39 Journey
41:40 killer but they're still going this is
41:43 the mid Journey killer right just like
41:45 everyone else is going this is almost as
41:46 good as chat
41:48 JP but it's not right well in some
41:51 things it is is good it's definitely in
41:54 some some benchmarks it is definitely
41:57 nearly as good as the chat
42:00 GPT so as long as they're being compared
42:02 to you you're you're still the leader so
42:04 people are still comparing [ __ ] to Mid
42:07 journey and mid Journey as of last
42:11 week made their website so it used to be
42:15 if you wanted to make images in mid
42:17 Journey you actually had to learn
42:20 Discord which is like
42:22 a shitty
42:25 Facebook for for Gamers and nft Bros and
42:30 you had to go into this toxic Cesspool
42:32 of
42:34 Bress and make images using command
42:38 line you'd go slash imagine and then D-
42:43 AR for aspect ratio and then 16 colon 9
42:46 you had to type [ __ ] you had to type
42:48 [ __ ] like a [ __ ] programmer to make
42:51 pretty
42:53 images and so you don't have to do that
42:55 anymore you can do it on the web now
42:57 they did have a free trial for about 3
42:59 days and then they shut that [ __ ] down
43:01 so if you want to play on Mid Journey
43:03 you do have to spend I think 10 bucks a
43:05 month is the minimum but we're going to
43:07 go play on Mid
43:11 journey and I'm going to I'm going to
43:13 keep bouncing back and forth to this
43:15 list
43:17 because I want
43:22 to I want to look at this tool in a new
43:25 light in a way that I don't normally do
43:28 I the the Reflection from that lamp is
43:31 bugging me but
43:34 whatever so I don't know if you can read
43:36 this but I'm going to have to make it a
43:37 little bit brighter so I can read it
43:39 okay so so here we are in mid Journey
43:42 the the main panel here when you when
43:44 you land on Mid Journey once you oh
43:46 let's actually you know what let me log
43:48 out of
43:50 this and let me show you something okay
43:53 when you come to Mid Journey you're
43:54 going to see this
43:58 scale AI lays off all of its contract
44:01 workers Monday interesting
44:03 fascinating thank you Mufasa
44:08 fascinating
44:10 huh okay you come here and you're like
44:14 isn't that like 1980s asy art yes that
44:17 is it and then there's like
44:20 documentation explore what happens if I
44:22 click explore okay that does take me in
44:24 there interesting all right and now I
44:26 can log in from
44:30 here and I can either continue with
44:32 Discord or continue with
44:35 Google um continue with Google unless
44:38 you have a Discord account if you have a
44:39 Discord account then you can just
44:40 authorize it with your Discord account
44:42 that's fine and then that's going to
44:44 take you into the website so you've got
44:48 your explore tab so what you're looking
44:50 at here are things that other people are
44:52 making right now so this is [ __ ] that's
44:55 being
44:56 made so you can scroll down I think any
44:58 one of these you can click on and see
45:00 details about it yeah here's the here's
45:02 the prompt of it you can like
45:05 [Applause]
45:07 it there's this says chaos 10 does that
45:11 say
45:12 chaos sorry I got to brighten things up
45:16 this says aspect ratio 34 version 6.1
45:21 stylize rating of
45:25 250 you can like it you can search for
45:28 other things here's who made
45:31 it so if you wanted to do something like
45:33 that you could actually copy there they
45:38 prompts that's pretty
45:44 slick so there's all that and then
45:47 there's
45:48 um create which is where you make your
45:52 stuff so here's images I've
45:55 made and
45:57 what's staggering about mid journey is
45:59 just the speed and the speed with which
46:04 you can make stuff but the
46:07 quality the quality of it is just just
46:13 mind-bending like look at these
46:20 things and you can take any one of these
46:22 into one of the video generation tools
46:24 and turn them into into videos
46:29 so that's that then there's an organized
46:32 tab which I have not
46:34 even ever played with so we're going to
46:37 play with
46:38 that then there's a chat area so General
46:45 chaos so I guess this is people just
46:48 sharing sharing what they've done
46:50 there's prompt crafting chat there's a
46:53 daily
46:55 theme there's an area for newbie so
46:58 these are these are chats from the from
47:00 the uh from the Discord
47:03 basically and there's
47:06 tasks where you can do image ranking and
47:09 bunch of different things
47:14 okay so let's go back to
47:17 create so the way you create in mid
47:20 journey is you have this prompt box just
47:23 like you've
47:24 got prompt stuff everywhere and then you
47:27 have this this
47:29 little uh what what are these called uh
47:33 sliders it's like a little slider icon
47:35 so you click on that and it opens up
47:37 this whole see you used to have to do
47:38 all this with code right so here's your
47:41 aspect ratio Square portrait
47:45 [Applause]
47:47 right and it even says like here's 16 by
47:49 9 there's 2 to one there's 4 to three
47:54 right so now you can just sort of slide
47:57 things around then there's stylization
48:00 which goes from 0o to a th000 there's
48:04 weirdness which goes from 0 to
48:06 3,000 and there's variety which goes
48:09 from 0 to 100 why these have different
48:14 values I don't
48:16 know um but in
48:19 general if you keep these things low
48:23 things will be more predictable if you
48:25 keep them higher they'll be less pred
48:29 predictable then you have the model that
48:32 you're in so you can switch between
48:35 different models you can go all the way
48:36 back to uh mid Journey 1 and all the way
48:41 up to 6.1 which is the
48:43 latest you can turn on personalization
48:46 you can put it in standard mode or raw
48:48 mode you can put it in different
48:52 speeds so lots of cool stuff to play
48:55 with
48:59 so back to our
49:04 attributes so curiosity like just
49:08 digging around the interface like we
49:09 were doing that's good um Drive the
49:15 there's a lot
49:17 here right there's there's a lot like
49:21 you you you scroll through all this you
49:22 click on this you see someone's
49:25 prompt there's there's buttons down here
49:28 there's buttons there there's a lot so
49:30 if you don't know what you're doing here
49:32 even with this relatively clean
49:34 interface it can be kind of intimidating
49:36 and the thing about all generative AI
49:40 is you got to come up with a
49:43 prompt right and that's [ __ ]
49:46 exhausting so you got to have some drive
49:48 to be able to do this creativity we
49:50 haven't even started that critical
49:52 thinking we haven't really gotten there
49:53 yet we're just kind of learning
49:55 discernment and taste we'll get to
49:57 judgement
49:58 adaptability so the adaptability one's
50:01 interesting if you've played around with
50:03 um if you've played around for example
50:06 with ideogram which is a really simple
50:08 interface and then you come here which
50:10 where it's more complicated and things
50:12 are in a slightly different place you
50:15 might know what you're doing but if you
50:16 want to get good at it you have to be
50:17 adaptable right so okay so let's go back
50:22 to our create tab let's go make some
50:24 images how can we do this well
50:31 one of the cool things about mid journey
50:35 is
50:37 that however they did it it seems to
50:41 understand
50:44 both complicated prompts and really
50:47 simple prompts like single word
50:53 prompts and so I can just come in here
50:55 let's see we're going to go in we'll
50:57 we'll pick an aspect ratio we'll do 16
51:00 by9 because that's most PowerPoint
51:02 presentations are 16 by9 your TV's 16 by
51:05 9 so it's a good all-around aspect
51:09 ratio and I'm just going to type in a
51:11 word here let's go pick let's go grab
51:13 one of these
51:17 words let's do
51:20 curiosity so I'm just going to use
51:23 curiosity as the prompt with nothing
51:26 else
51:30 let's see what it
51:34 does what's the
51:36 difference in your definition of
51:39 discernment and
51:40 judgment that's a really good question
51:42 discernment is more like
51:44 taste like do you have do you have good
51:47 taste judgment is more
51:52 like solving a problem um
51:58 looking looking at you know the ethics
52:01 of something things like that so one is
52:03 one is more about
52:04 curation and one is more
52:08 about
52:11 navigating navigating the space and
52:16 I I need to get more clear on those two
52:19 as I said I think I might evolve these
52:22 terms over time
52:28 because I think the difference between
52:30 taste and judgment feels more clear than
52:33 discernment and
52:34 judgment okay
52:37 so with just the word
52:41 curiosity mid Journey came up with that
52:44 that that and
52:48 that they're all kind of dark and weird
52:51 they're all kind of
52:53 cool um neat
53:00 so I'm going to show you one other thing
53:02 now if you go to
53:05 Twitter depending on who you
53:08 follow as you scroll you will see things
53:12 like
53:13 this where you
53:16 get a bunch of images in a similar style
53:20 and if you look at the the the tweet it
53:23 it usually says-- sref and then a big
53:26 long
53:27 number so the srf is a mid Journey thing
53:31 called the style reference and I think
53:33 the style reference is one of the most
53:35 powerful things in mid Journey that can
53:38 allow you
53:40 to really
53:44 explore
53:45 um what mid Journey makes possible
53:48 without having to do too much
53:52 thinking and
53:54 so I've got a site that I use called my
53:59 mind where I can if I go into Twitter
54:03 and I'm scrolling around and I find
54:04 something that I like I just copy this
54:08 link and I go into my mind and then I
54:11 paste it into this little box right here
54:14 and I hit submit and it it adds a card
54:17 to this whole long
54:20 list and so you can see here as I scroll
54:23 down through here I've got tons of these
54:25 style references in here
54:27 now like a good add person ADHD person I
54:32 dump all these in here I almost never go
54:34 back and look at them like I'm a digital
54:36 hoarder right so this is a really cool
54:39 piece of software to digital hoard in
54:42 but like there's things in here that re
54:44 are really amazing so here's one srf
54:48 5972 so I'm going to click on that I'm
54:50 going to grab that
54:52 srf and then we're going to come back to
54:55 Mid Journey
54:58 and the way this works is we're going to
54:59 do same prompt
55:04 curiosity and then I'm going to
55:09 go dash dash
55:15 sref
55:20 5972 and what this should
55:23 do is generate four images that kind
55:26 kind of look
55:28 like this
55:30 style now the thing about srfs is I
55:33 haven't played around with this enough
55:35 to know
55:37 what's sometimes these things work
55:39 brilliantly sometimes they don't work at
55:43 all that's the adaptability but they
55:46 worked pretty good look at
55:52 this curiosity that's actually a [ __ ]
55:55 killer image
56:04 brilliant that looks like curiosity
56:09 me so now let's
56:13 go I have an idea
56:16 here what's the next one drive
56:20 drive and then we're going to so one
56:22 thing you can do is if you have a
56:24 previous image pulled up and you click
56:26 on
56:27 here it says srf 5972 if I click on that
56:30 it actually adds it to my prompt so now
56:33 I'm going to do drive as a set of
56:36 images and now I'm going to do
56:43 creativity I'm going to add in that
56:46 srf going to do critical thinking
56:58 add in that
57:02 sraf we'll go
57:13 taste
57:21 judgement and adaptability
57:34 so now
57:35 here's let me let me go back to our
57:39 words here for a
57:40 second
57:42 so where I just
57:45 flipped so when we first got to Mid
57:47 journey I was kind of in curiosity mode
57:49 I was poking around all the different
57:52 things I had enough drive to go there
57:54 and stick it out even though it was kind
57:56 of
57:58 intimidating and
58:00 then I was like oh we're talking about
58:03 curiosity so I put curiosity in as a
58:05 word and that got kind of interesting
58:08 and I was like oh yeah style references
58:10 let's go look at srfs so now I'm
58:12 starting to do things
58:14 like that kind of lives in the Judgment
58:16 area right or adaptability or critical
58:19 thinking of like
58:21 okay let's see if we can make curiosity
58:25 look a specific way way and it and we
58:28 did and then and I said oh let's do all
58:31 the words and
58:33 so so what what AI is allowing me to do
58:38 is very very quickly context shift
58:41 between these different modes of
58:45 being and people who are good at AI can
58:48 switch really quickly between these
58:51 different
58:52 modes and people that are that that try
58:54 to control it or try to hem it in or or
58:58 try to make it
59:01 behave exactly like how they expect
59:03 computers to behave they get really
59:06 frustrated and they tend not to be good
59:07 at AI because AI is not behaving the way
59:11 computers have ever behaved before right
59:14 it's it's got these models have
59:17 personalities these models
59:19 have quirks about them they have
59:23 unpredictable
59:25 outcomes and so if you if you go into
59:27 this with a mindset of like a skills
59:29 mindset like I've got to learn all the
59:31 skills it can get very frustrating very
59:34 fast if you sort of surf around between
59:36 these ways of being it it can be a hell
59:39 of a lot of fun okay so let's go look at
59:42 all our
59:45 images so here's the four curiosity
59:51 images I think that one's pretty damn
59:53 good but I I think that one's the
59:55 strongest of these
59:58 that feels like a really cool curiosity
1:00:01 image so here's drive it went
1:00:06 car so that we probably need to turn
1:00:09 into ambition right here's
1:00:12 creativity love that one love that
1:00:17 one
1:00:19 fantastic this is critical thinking
1:00:28 taste food right it went to
1:00:32 Food so discernment might have been
1:00:34 better
1:00:36 there although that's taste as
1:00:41 well so that's interesting it's kind of
1:00:44 fashion so here's
1:00:47 judgment scales of
1:00:52 Justice this is adaptability
1:01:01 wild and then you know because I've got
1:01:04 all these cards saved here or I can just
1:01:07 go to Twitter the other thing you can do
1:01:09 is just go to
1:01:10 Twitter and search for sref
1:01:17 sref and just scroll till you find
1:01:20 something you
1:01:23 like boobies
1:01:27 got to move quickly past that or they
1:01:29 will cancel your
1:01:32 ass oh I like that black and white sref
1:01:36 so here's a big long s
1:01:39 ref all
1:01:43 right so let's go back to Mid
1:01:46 journey we'll do um adaptability
1:01:57 adapt
1:02:08 anity see what this looks like with the
1:02:10 new
1:02:12 thing Okay
1:02:19 so we've basically learned one
1:02:22 command and one way of using style
1:02:26 references one way of using mid Jour
1:02:29 we're not we haven't even started yet on
1:02:31 prompting for something specific right
1:02:33 now we're just kind of playing
1:02:36 right so you can imagine how quickly you
1:02:40 can blow through five or six hours or
1:02:44 five or six days or five or six weeks
1:02:47 with these tools because every AI tool
1:02:50 every song generation tool every image
1:02:53 generation tool every video tool chat G
1:02:56 PT code interpreter all the different
1:02:58 modes of chat
1:03:00 GPT um clae uh whatever they called uh
1:03:05 clouds
1:03:09 um artifacts where it can make a game
1:03:13 for you it codes the game and then lets
1:03:15 you play it right there in the window
1:03:17 every one of these tools
1:03:20 is essentially an endless number of
1:03:23 rabbit holes you can run down
1:03:27 I mean these are gorgeous look at
1:03:35 these I don't know what that
1:03:38 says I don't quite know these don't
1:03:40 don't really say adaptability to me
1:03:43 but this is where that style reference
1:03:46 got really strong now here's another
1:03:48 thing you can do
1:03:57 this is also where we go we go we go
1:03:59 back through taste you could say okay I
1:04:02 really like the aesthetic of
1:04:06 these but car is wrong right so you got
1:04:09 to fix that the aesthetic of this
1:04:11 actually feels different right that
1:04:13 feels like cutout paper that feels kind
1:04:16 of in the same neighborhood so like just
1:04:19 even just even being able to choose what
1:04:21 are the what are the images here in this
1:04:23 one style
1:04:26 that that are are
1:04:30 related here's another thing you can do
1:04:32 let's go let's do critical thinking is
1:04:35 our term critical thinking is our
1:04:39 prompt and then I'm going to go dash
1:04:42 dash
1:04:44 sref
1:04:50 random and it's just going to pick one
1:05:04 oh
1:05:05 no I just got rid of
1:05:08 myself there I am I'm
1:05:12 back can never have enough
1:05:16 me oh that's cool so that's Sr
1:05:22 whatever that's crazy
1:05:30 very Hamlet it's very
1:05:34 Hamlet
1:05:36 alas yorck I knew
1:05:44 him and then if I do critical thinking
1:05:47 let's
1:05:49 see let's see how do I do
1:05:52 this copy so do critical thing thinking
1:05:56 we're go D- srf
1:06:00 random I'm going to select all of this
1:06:02 copy it and now I'm just going to do
1:06:06 return and then I'm going to do paste
1:06:08 return paste return paste return paste
1:06:11 return so now it's going to go make a
1:06:12 whole ship pile of images about critical
1:06:15 thinking with a bunch of different
1:06:16 random style
1:06:19 references then what I'm going to do is
1:06:21 I'm going to I'm going to try something
1:06:22 new I'm going to go click over on these
1:06:25 little dials these little slider
1:06:28 buttons and I'm going to put stylization
1:06:31 up about halfway and I'm going to put
1:06:33 weirdness like
1:06:35 to 2400 we're going to get really weird
1:06:39 and then I'm going to do variety so
1:06:40 variety will change the four of them
1:06:44 weirdness I guess will just make it
1:06:46 weird it'll go farther away from the
1:06:48 prompt and then stylization I guess
1:06:51 makes it more
1:06:53 styly so now I'm going to do p
1:06:56 critical thinking s
1:07:00 referendum 3 4 5 so now I'm going to
1:07:03 have what's that 5 20 images with the
1:07:07 new sliders so so now there's a whole
1:07:11 ship
1:07:12 pile of new
1:07:14 images right so there's that one that
1:07:17 srf kind of has some '90s ' 80s 9s
1:07:22 cartoon aesthetic to it there's like the
1:07:24 80s neon Punk there's like a Japanese
1:07:29 children's book illustration
1:07:32 style that's
1:07:34 like I don't know some weird
1:07:36 illustration weird
1:07:38 illustration so let's see
1:07:41 now stylize
1:07:46 zero okay so starting
1:07:49 here is where we we put in the weirdness
1:07:52 in the high
1:07:53 style so look at the weirdness it's
1:07:55 doing there now it's giving us some
1:07:57 weird [ __ ] it's giv us some non-weird
1:07:59 [ __ ] but it's giv us weird
1:08:06 [ __ ] this is essentially with no
1:08:10 prompt and just [ __ ] with
1:08:16 stuff that's
1:08:18 cool it's all critical
1:08:23 thinking is this mid Journey Yep this is
1:08:25 mid Journey we're in the web the web
1:08:28 interface of mid Journey now look at the
1:08:31 difference so if I were doing if I were
1:08:33 doing a PowerPoint presentation for a
1:08:37 big
1:08:39 Corporation that's kind of a cool image
1:08:41 for critical thinking right that feels
1:08:44 kind of corporate it's definitely
1:08:48 safe some of these others are more Arty
1:08:51 right like that's more Arty you could
1:08:53 put that in a corporate presentation but
1:08:55 they be like I I I think I think Sam's
1:08:58 been smoking some of the wacky weed if
1:09:00 you know what I mean those images in his
1:09:02 PowerPoint presentation were
1:09:05 [Laughter]
1:09:12 crazy you see why I can't work in a
1:09:14 corporation
1:09:15 [Laughter]
1:09:21 people this is where judgment taste
1:09:24 comes in so yeah so like
1:09:29 [Applause]
1:09:32 actually taste to me taste or
1:09:37 discernment says this thing's beautiful
1:09:39 this is this is a keeper judgment says
1:09:42 they might think I'm weird in my
1:09:44 Corporation so I'm going to go with
1:09:47 something like that that's safer right
1:09:50 there's your difference between taste
1:09:51 and judgment
1:10:03 now we haven't even gotten
1:10:05 into now that we now we go find an image
1:10:08 that we like let's go find an image that
1:10:10 we
1:10:12 like that one's kind of
1:10:14 cool sort of looks like a
1:10:18 face love that
1:10:23 one restricted for some audiences I
1:10:26 don't know what did I just say live
1:10:28 visibility is
1:10:34 restricted what did I say
1:10:37 anyone I I just I can't
1:10:41 win I think discern discernment is
1:10:43 sorting things out this is such and such
1:10:46 I think judgment is saying
1:10:49 it's nothing maybe the brains I don't
1:10:52 know smoking Maybe is it because I just
1:10:56 got in here way to go Becky way to go
1:10:59 Becky you know we were doing fine in
1:11:02 here you show up and the thing gets
1:11:07 restricted you are lost in ADHD time and
1:11:11 space it's Becky's fault yeah listen
1:11:15 it's this is Judgment here's what's
1:11:17 important in Corporate America figure
1:11:19 out whose fault it is make sure that
1:11:21 they get the blame and you don't okay
1:11:24 these are the lessons we learned
1:11:26 [Laughter]
1:11:29 here but we love Becky anyway wacky
1:11:32 Becky okay um so let's let me go find an
1:11:38 image here that one's kind of cool isn't
1:11:41 it what's in
1:11:44 those I think I want this
1:11:47 image I think that that image speaks to
1:11:51 me okay now in mid Journey let me see if
1:11:55 if I can make these bigger so you can
1:11:57 see
1:11:58 them there are creation actions oh and I
1:12:02 just hit one of
1:12:04 them more options can I give myself more
1:12:08 options oh remix pan Zoom oh that's
1:12:12 cool Zoom pan oh this is so cool I'm
1:12:16 going to turn all these
1:12:19 on Okay so we've got that's not the
1:12:23 image we wanted is it no
1:12:26 that is that's our
1:12:29 image so you've got very
1:12:32 upscale
1:12:35 remix pan
1:12:41 Zoom rerun editor so you can actually
1:12:44 edit mid Journey images and then use an
1:12:47 images style or a prompt on
1:12:53 it oh I said Sam is smoking the wacky
1:12:56 weed seriously Tick Tock Sam is smoking
1:13:00 the wacky weed gets gets us age
1:13:05 restricted God [ __ ]
1:13:11 really all right Becky it wasn't your
1:13:15 fault I said wacky
1:13:17 [Laughter]
1:13:23 weed okay
1:13:27 the image that mid Journey creates is is
1:13:30 a small
1:13:31 image um but you can upscale it which is
1:13:34 cool but you can also do all sorts of
1:13:37 other things so one thing is I can vary
1:13:40 it so I can say I want variations of
1:13:42 this image and I can either vary them
1:13:44 subtly like maybe there's just something
1:13:46 about it I don't quite like and I want
1:13:48 to see subtle changes no honey I don't
1:13:51 want to eat right now I'm busy watching
1:13:52 a guy fiddle with UI settings sure
1:13:58 um or I can say very strong so if I
1:14:01 click on that and I jump back out to
1:14:08 create it's making four new images now
1:14:10 that are going to be variations of our
1:14:13 of our
1:14:21 lady that one's got sort of cool things
1:14:23 in the background here but I don't like
1:14:25 the composition hate that don't like
1:14:29 that none of these are as good fine so
1:14:32 then you learn so here's here's a
1:14:35 discernment
1:14:38 moment um then you can say upscale
1:14:41 creative or subtle so upscale creative
1:14:43 is generally what I use so that's now
1:14:45 going to make a bigger version of this
1:14:48 um you can remix it you can pan left and
1:14:52 right you can zoom out so if I zoom out
1:14:55 one
1:14:56 1.5 we should see all over head we'll
1:14:59 see more image around this
1:15:06 image so here's our upscaled version
1:15:09 being
1:15:11 created I think this is our zoom
1:15:14 out yeah so now you see we've got Sky
1:15:17 over the top of her head
1:15:40 oh all these have a cool City in the
1:15:42 background did the
1:15:43 original sort of but not really you
1:15:45 couldn't see it as much that's
1:15:47 fascinating this one there's a city here
1:15:50 but because it kind of goes off the edge
1:15:52 you don't see it as a city where as this
1:15:57 one because it added this on the outside
1:16:00 you kind of see it as a distinct thing
1:16:02 here it draws your eye there so that's
1:16:04 pretty
1:16:06 cool so let's say we find one of these
1:16:08 we really like I like this one and now I
1:16:13 can upscale This One upscale
1:16:17 creative and go back out and now that's
1:16:20 going to make a high-res version of that
1:16:22 one
1:16:30 so going back to this little this little
1:16:43 list we're kind of flipping between all
1:16:45 of these very very quickly with
1:16:48 generative
1:16:49 Ai and and and I'm just using like the
1:16:54 the barely scratching the surface of a
1:16:56 single tool
1:16:59 here now imagine say let's start in chat
1:17:03 GPT then we'll come over to Mid journey
1:17:05 and make images then we'll go over to
1:17:07 this thing and make a song then we'll go
1:17:08 over to that thing and make a video out
1:17:10 of it then we'll go back to PowerPoint
1:17:13 and add some of those things into the
1:17:14 PowerPoint then we'll go back to chat
1:17:18 gbt our ability to
1:17:21 quickly context switch between modes of
1:17:27 how we're acting and which of these
1:17:29 aptitudes we're we're digging
1:17:35 into is the
1:17:42 skill so
1:17:47 anyway so there's our final
1:17:50 image let's download this bad boy
1:18:06 oh see that's not a city it's
1:18:09 trees we could actually go fix
1:18:17 that but that's pretty amazing like
1:18:20 that's pretty pretty
1:18:22 something from nothing no no real
1:18:25 prompting a little bit of
1:18:30 knowledge a lot
1:18:32 of curiosity and drive and adaptability
1:18:36 and creativity
1:18:39 and and if anyone tells you that AI art
1:18:43 is an
1:18:44 art think about the amount of input and
1:18:47 creativity that that went into that even
1:18:50 though we're not generating the images
1:18:52 themselves figuring out how to generate
1:18:54 the image
1:18:56 figuring out you know creating a bunch
1:18:58 of stuff and then figuring out what in
1:19:00 that looks like what you have in your
1:19:02 head or that that resonates with you a
1:19:06 whole lot of Kyle and his help so
1:19:08 grateful ULU RX I didn't see you last
1:19:11 night thank you so much for the gifts I
1:19:14 minoxidil this morning I pink scalped I
1:19:19 don't know if you saw me in my in my
1:19:21 pink bow last night but if you did not
1:19:23 you missed a very special site but thank
1:19:27 you very much for all of that very very
1:19:29 generous of you I really appreciate
1:19:32 it you're you're very cool Mel I
1:19:34 appreciate it a
1:19:36 lot um all right let me let me back out
1:19:39 of this now let's just talk so tell
1:19:43 me a was that useful B any insights I'd
1:19:48 love to hear if there's any insights see
1:19:51 Kyle don't ever do that again that's
1:19:52 fine I'll take that feedback too
1:19:56 oh
1:19:58 man there's plenty of evidence of Kyle
1:20:01 in the pink bow I'll go get the [ __ ]
1:20:02 pink bow right now you know what since
1:20:04 Mel's
1:20:05 here can't be take care of them
1:20:35 all
1:20:37 right time to get serious silver [ __ ]
1:20:41 kept me up to date we were working sorry
1:20:43 I missed
1:20:45 it you're so welcome and thank you
1:20:48 anyway look at so first of all look how
1:20:51 it brings the hair to life you
1:20:53 know okay
1:20:55 so mid Journey we made this lovely
1:20:58 high-res image
1:21:01 here
1:21:06 with maximal
1:21:09 creativity minimal input that's one of
1:21:12 the one of the
1:21:17 magic one of the pieces of magic of
1:21:21 generative AI is you put in this much
1:21:23 effort and you get get out this much
1:21:27 value again one of the things that makes
1:21:29 me happy in my life is
1:21:32 knowing that someone's going to be
1:21:33 scrolling through Tik Tok and see this
1:21:36 and go what the [ __ ] is
1:21:38 [Laughter]
1:21:43 that oh man I got a virtual speaking gig
1:21:47 I'm thinking visuals equals distraction
1:21:50 I don't use them on stage thoughts I go
1:21:53 visuals I go the other direction
1:21:55 I put up visuals like that I usually put
1:21:57 a word or two not a lot of words just
1:22:00 more visuals but that's it's that's
1:22:03 that's definitely a taste thing if if
1:22:06 you find visuals distracting I
1:22:08 would I would not use
1:22:13 them uh
1:22:17 uhuh all right thoughts you need a pink
1:22:21 fuzzy robe too I'm gonna get a pink
1:22:23 fuzzy manini
1:22:27 can you do one with an existing image do
1:22:30 one
1:22:32 what can I I don't know what you mean
1:22:35 can I do one with an existing image can
1:22:37 I do a mid Journey thing with an
1:22:39 existing
1:22:41 image you can you can marry different
1:22:44 images together I can show you how to do
1:22:50 that all
1:22:53 right uh um I wish there was an option
1:22:56 in mid journey to base an image on an
1:22:59 existing one if that makes sense I think
1:23:00 you can I I'm not super good at this Dr
1:23:04 J in here is actually better at this
1:23:06 than I
1:23:07 am but let's go back out so we're going
1:23:09 to go to create so I'm back out on the
1:23:11 create thing so there's this image thing
1:23:14 right
1:23:16 here and
1:23:18 so these are images that I've uploaded
1:23:25 let's say we
1:23:28 grab this one and there's three
1:23:31 different modes that you can put it in
1:23:33 let me see if I can make this
1:23:36 bigger so there's image mode there's
1:23:40 style mode and then there's character
1:23:43 reference so if I put a person in here
1:23:46 and I use character reference then it'll
1:23:49 be a character reference if I use style
1:23:52 it'll take the style of this and if if I
1:23:54 use image it it'll take this basic image
1:23:57 and then let's see see if I say
1:24:01 um um
1:24:04 plane flying
1:24:10 through
1:24:13 a Barren
1:24:19 landscape we'll see what it
1:24:22 does this is where experimenting with
1:24:24 this stuff's really important I also
1:24:26 have my settings really weird here I
1:24:29 have my weird setting really high and my
1:24:32 style eyes is really high so let me go
1:24:35 lower
1:24:36 those so there's my settings there I'm
1:24:39 going to lower those a lower
1:24:43 variety and then we're going to do the
1:24:45 same thing I'm going get that same
1:24:47 image put that there and then we're
1:24:50 going to grab plain
1:24:58 plane flying through a Barren
1:25:03 landscape but you'll notice now I've
1:25:06 kind of
1:25:08 remixed the original into these things
1:25:11 that have the plane flying
1:25:14 through the
1:25:17 space you can also let's see what it
1:25:20 does with when I lowered the
1:25:23 weirdness yeah they're more con
1:25:24 consistent they're more consistently
1:25:26 like that original so here's the
1:25:30 original can I see this there's the
1:25:37 original so they're in the hood they
1:25:39 changed the style a
1:25:40 bit but now what I could also do is I
1:25:44 could make this the style reference and
1:25:48 then I could add another
1:25:51 image of let's say
1:25:55 this
1:25:56 one so this is sort of like this brain
1:25:59 thing but let's say I want the style of
1:26:00 this one but the the composition of that
1:26:03 one I'd say
1:26:05 um
1:26:07 brain
1:26:12 floating or brain
1:26:16 suspended and I don't even know I
1:26:18 probably don't even need to put a prompt
1:26:20 in there to be quite
1:26:22 honest so this should give me the style
1:26:25 of this
1:26:30 guy and
1:26:32 the you know look and feel of that
1:26:42 [Music]
1:26:43 guy and yeah looks like looks like we're
1:26:46 in the
1:26:51 neighborhood crazy right
1:26:55 Bonas I tell you
1:27:01 Bonas so it's picked up the color
1:27:03 palette it's picked up some of the
1:27:06 gradients little bit of the
1:27:08 style there's also you can do style
1:27:11 weights there's there's just the like
1:27:13 like I said the thing with mid journey
1:27:15 is because it's been around for
1:27:19 years there are you can go deep deep
1:27:22 deep with any one of these but what I
1:27:24 would what I what I would encourage you
1:27:26 to do this is this is why one of the
1:27:28 things that we talk talk about in the a
1:27:30 salon is play first play with these
1:27:33 tools kick kick the tires don't don't
1:27:36 get too precious about feeling like you
1:27:40 have to learn everything I like honestly
1:27:43 I I I feel like with single word prompts
1:27:48 and srf random or just picking a style
1:27:51 reference from
1:27:52 Twitter you could probably spend a month
1:27:56 in mid journey and do nothing else but
1:27:58 that and come up with remarkable work
1:28:02 remarkable
1:28:04 work so you know so imagine if you
1:28:07 wanted to dig deep with with any one of
1:28:09 these AI tools you can skim the surface
1:28:11 and get really interesting results or
1:28:13 you can really dive deep in them
1:28:15 question please do you think GPT would
1:28:19 be cryptocurrency and should we invest
1:28:23 in it
1:28:26 um GPT is not
1:28:29 cryptocurrency
1:28:31 worldcoin is Sam alman's cryptocurrency
1:28:36 for Universal basic income and World ID
1:28:39 is a is basically an nft that an nft
1:28:43 based identity system for human
1:28:47 verification
1:28:49 um I don't know if that's going to be
1:28:51 the winner
1:28:52 but they were out there
1:29:03 first did that help with mid Journey
1:29:06 there's mid journey goes
1:29:08 deep goes deep deep
1:29:11 dip is everything on Mid Journey public
1:29:14 yes and
1:29:16 no you can create your own if you go to
1:29:20 Discord if you're a Discord fan you can
1:29:22 you can add mid journey into a private
1:29:24 channel that you've got on your own
1:29:26 Discord server and then no one will see
1:29:28 your stuff but but I
1:29:32 think you have to pay 60 bucks a month
1:29:34 you have it's the third tier
1:29:36 subscription with mid Journey before you
1:29:38 can actually make your ship private but
1:29:41 if you want to make your ship private
1:29:42 you can you just got to pay for
1:29:46 it excellent we love the mid Journey Jam
1:29:52 fantastic i f have to figure out what
1:29:55 platform they're
1:30:00 using purple is the color so that's a
1:30:02 good
1:30:05 idea look at me playing with
1:30:08 my I'm going to have so many hairs
1:30:11 sprouting out of here it's going to be
1:30:12 like a whole another being going be like
1:30:15 hey what's happening
1:30:22 hello my hair was
1:30:25 particularly weird today it's Al it's
1:30:28 fine
1:30:30 tonight all day today I kept seeing
1:30:33 myself on camera
1:30:34 [Laughter]
1:30:42 going um what do you want to do what do
1:30:46 you want to talk
1:30:47 about what time is it is it
1:30:49 time got a few minutes 15 minutes
1:30:52 something like that
1:31:18 oops that's a pretty cool image
1:31:25 LTX contest I don't know anything about
1:31:29 it Brandon I didn't pay I didn't pay
1:31:31 enough attention to it
1:31:34 so it I think it when's the deadline
1:31:36 it's the deadline today data analytics
1:31:39 programs what's new in that World um I
1:31:43 don't know Mel
1:31:47 um on data analytics it's probably
1:31:52 worth playing around with Claude
1:31:58 um but I think I think the data
1:32:01 analytics that's in chat GPT is
1:32:04 still is still your best bet but I don't
1:32:07 know I haven't played around with that
1:32:08 stuff in a
1:32:09 while extended details in Irregulars
1:32:13 okay
1:32:14 so if you're new
1:32:17 here you
1:32:22 should where's my
1:32:28 you should go check
1:32:29 out the
1:32:33 salon so if you go to the
1:32:36 salon. right
1:32:41 there go there that's going to take you
1:32:43 to a website and if you scroll down a
1:32:45 little bit there's a button that says
1:32:46 join our community and if you go to the
1:32:49 AI Salon
1:32:52 community and you join that
1:32:55 it's a whole community of AI optimists
1:32:58 people that are trying to figure this
1:33:00 stuff out I just came from a group
1:33:03 called AI Camp how did I not know about
1:33:06 this before I don't know with you with a
1:33:09 name like yours like why you didn't come
1:33:12 up with AI camp with a K you missed it
1:33:16 you missed it Kelly that's just that's
1:33:18 just disappointing what can I say that's
1:33:21 just that was so obvious it was right
1:33:23 there it was right there it was
1:33:26 literally like on a paper plate at a
1:33:28 barbecue all you had to do is pick it up
1:33:31 like a burger and snack on
1:33:33 it very disappointing very disappointing
1:33:40 anyway we pick on her because we love
1:33:43 [Laughter]
1:33:46 her um so if you jump over here to the
1:33:52 salon you you'll notice that there's a
1:33:55 little six-step get started sequence and
1:33:59 the first one is check out about the
1:34:01 salon read about
1:34:03 the journey to AI literacy play first
1:34:06 mindfully create generously lead then
1:34:09 the second step number two most
1:34:12 important thing when you get here
1:34:13 introduce yourself jump into the
1:34:16 introduce yourself Channel introduce
1:34:19 yourself then read about our values then
1:34:22 you can catch up on past meeting see see
1:34:24 what we've been up to what we're about
1:34:27 you can RSV RSVP for the next event and
1:34:31 then you can go check out the water
1:34:32 cooler where you can just talk about
1:34:35 [ __ ] so that's that's getting started
1:34:37 and then there's all sorts of things
1:34:38 there's a community section there's
1:34:40 showand tell area there are guilds for
1:34:43 creativity business technology and
1:34:45 social impact and there are also clubs
1:34:48 so one of the clubs is AI life hacks
1:34:50 with Brandon and Claire who are in here
1:34:53 tonight and then one one of them is AI
1:34:55 learning lab Irregulars this is a little
1:34:57 Club just for us and so you can hop in
1:35:01 here oh that's cool
1:35:03 rediscovered we got an old GPT I made
1:35:07 called
1:35:08 animal gamate
1:35:11 nice oh that's
1:35:15 beautiful
1:35:20 albear mid Journey 6.1 prompt C it Sr
1:35:25 beautiful look at
1:35:33 that I mean you
1:35:36 know here's another thing whenever
1:35:40 anyone tells you that AI can't be
1:35:42 creative because it's just a cold
1:35:43 probability engine and it's just
1:35:45 predicting the next token and there can
1:35:47 be nothing creative about
1:35:49 that horeshit
1:35:54 if I thought about if I thought about
1:35:56 doing a business presentation
1:36:00 right and I thought about what images
1:36:03 could I use for the for the phrase
1:36:05 curiosity thanks for walking us through
1:36:07 that Kyle you're
1:36:10 welcome I would go to all the C cliche
1:36:13 [ __ ] like as a human I would just go
1:36:16 okay curiosity it should be a light bulb
1:36:18 and right you do and then you go to like
1:36:22 Google and you do an image search for
1:36:24 curiosity and then you click on the
1:36:25 images tab and what everyone has done
1:36:28 for all of time when they want to talk
1:36:30 about curiosity or ideas is they do a
1:36:32 light
1:36:34 bulb thanks Thomas
1:36:38 Edison imagine if you took an extra 3
1:36:43 minutes if you knew about this tool
1:36:46 called mid Journey rather than going and
1:36:48 looking for stock
1:36:50 photos you went and you just [ __ ]
1:36:53 around with style refer refences until
1:36:54 until you found a style you
1:36:56 liked and then you end up with an image
1:36:59 like this for the word
1:37:02 curiosity you tell me that's not
1:37:08 creative I think that's pretty
1:37:11 staggering and and imagine having
1:37:14 similarly Creative
1:37:16 Images for all those other words but in
1:37:19 this really cool black and white
1:37:21 style keep scrolling LOL
1:37:26 mid Journey chat was General chaos
1:37:29 that's
1:37:30 beautiful
1:37:36 SpaceX oh
1:37:38 [Laughter]
1:37:42 Lordy yeah there's me my pink
1:37:44 [Laughter]
1:37:49 robe gorgeous gorgeous I tell you
1:37:56 it's beamus it's
1:37:59 beamus I found out another AI image
1:38:02 generator that's pretty good and it's
1:38:04 free right now is that that what's it
1:38:06 called it's called Uh loud
1:38:10 me or lwd me it's supposed to be it's
1:38:14 loud me
1:38:19 [Applause]
1:38:25 how do I get back oh those are my sound
1:38:26 effects how do I get back to my
1:38:29 music we've updated our website please
1:38:32 refresh wen't you
1:38:36 fancy oh they did upate their
1:38:42 website through the shadows of an
1:38:46 endless and
1:38:48 feel searching for The Whispers of what
1:38:53 the heart
1:38:57 so this
1:38:59 is this is a song about AI so I wrote
1:39:02 The Prompt is male singing A Soulful
1:39:05 Americana singer songwriter song in the
1:39:07 style of Martin ston about a man
1:39:09 exploring the latent space and
1:39:12 discovering the collective intelligence
1:39:14 of humanity so it it totally missed on
1:39:17 the man singing part but it's actually a
1:39:20 really good song and it's it's singing
1:39:22 about the Laten space so I'll just I'll
1:39:24 just let it
1:39:25 [Music]
1:39:30 play
1:39:33 conceals in the quiet of the Twilight
1:39:38 where the ancient stor
1:39:41 rest found myself a spark of Light
1:39:45 Within the world's
1:39:50 P found the
1:39:52 [Music]
1:39:54 every mind has
1:39:57 one in the
1:40:01 silent
1:40:03 [Music]
1:40:07 tears voices of the
1:40:11 ages dancing and
1:40:15 moving Every Soul
1:40:18 conting the spaces deep
1:40:22 within the echo
1:40:25 so that's loud me so it sounds sounds
1:40:27 kind of likeo um it also does sound
1:40:30 effects and it's all free right now
1:40:33 so all right absolutely stunning what
1:40:37 was absolutely
1:40:40 stunning I can't stop looking at it what
1:40:43 are you looking at
1:40:46 Mel it's
1:40:49 Curative loud me. a yep
1:40:56 my image oh I know it's it's it's
1:41:06 amazing for
1:41:12 curiosity can I make that
1:41:14 bigger
1:41:16 no how do I original image oh there we
1:41:20 go
1:41:35 yeah I I
1:41:45 mean mid journey is just Bonkers isn't
1:41:48 it mid Journey images are so rich with
1:41:51 layers and layers of texture and color
1:41:53 and character they really
1:41:57 are there's just something about
1:41:59 whatever whatever they did in building
1:42:03 their training sets or whatever they did
1:42:05 in the magic [ __ ] prompting they're
1:42:07 doing on the back
1:42:08 end there's just something different
1:42:11 about how these images hit and let me
1:42:13 tell you something when mid Journey
1:42:16 comes out with video where you can turn
1:42:18 any mid Journey image into a video
1:42:20 natively within mid
1:42:22 Journey they're going to mop the floor
1:42:24 with the
1:42:31 competition I also think they stand the
1:42:33 highest risk of getting their asses sued
1:42:35 from here to
1:42:39 Oblivion but you know that's a whole
1:42:41 different
1:42:45 conversation but yeah that
1:42:47 image representing curiosity is just
1:42:50 [ __ ] brilliant it's so good
1:42:58 is video in the works for Mid Journey
1:42:59 apparently it is yes not Curative but a
1:43:03 cure a live curated
1:43:06 creative you know the other thing that
1:43:09 I'll show you so we we went to Mid
1:43:12 journey and we went through all that um
1:43:15 you know we all that we went through a
1:43:18 handful of interface items a handful of
1:43:20 features like we didn't even begin to
1:43:23 scratch the surface I showed this the
1:43:25 other night but this is this site is
1:43:29 deoh here.
1:43:32 a and if you go
1:43:38 to Deco
1:43:41 here and click on the explore tab at the
1:43:44 top this is another way to explore image
1:43:52 generation after Edition is multitasking
1:43:55 that's a that's a good one Corey let me
1:43:58 add that
1:44:27 I'm also going to put in here horizontal
1:44:29 thinking
1:44:34 which I might do an updated version of
1:44:36 this article once I figure out what what
1:44:39 these aptitudes are what these
1:44:42 components are um anyway back to Deco
1:44:47 here so what you're actually looking at
1:44:50 right here is this is not dissimilar to
1:44:53 what we saw in mid Journey where this is
1:44:56 a site that can make images they're not
1:44:58 as good as mid Journeys you can see
1:45:00 they've got a bit more of a illustration
1:45:02 kind of feel to
1:45:03 them
1:45:07 um but you don't need to do any
1:45:09 prompting on this site so I can say oh I
1:45:12 like this owl with a
1:45:14 saxophone and they've got this feature
1:45:16 called create station and if I click on
1:45:18 create station what it's going to do is
1:45:20 it's going to take that image as the
1:45:22 seed
1:45:23 and then it's going to create this new
1:45:24 channel where all of the images
1:45:27 generated here are based
1:45:29 on that
1:45:34 image and so now I just sit back and I
1:45:38 watch and if I'm generating characters
1:45:41 here's a bunch of characters coming in
1:45:43 oh there's a cool cat oh here's a
1:45:46 witch oh there's a
1:45:51 goddess here's a cool tree with a dude
1:45:55 contemplating life in the Wisdom Tree
1:45:58 hey an
1:46:03 Murphy and I can share this station with
1:46:07 you and you could come see all these
1:46:09 same images and we could like a a way
1:46:13 that you could collaborate with a
1:46:15 creative
1:46:17 team is just to keep jumping into these
1:46:20 images and turning each one into a new
1:46:23 station
1:46:24 and just keep running down creative
1:46:26 rabbit holes without
1:46:29 thinking passive
1:46:34 creativity [ __ ]
1:46:48 Bonkers look at that you're trying to
1:46:51 come up with a concept for
1:46:54 some kids book you're putting together
1:46:56 for
1:47:01 presentation basically what you're doing
1:47:03 when you're tapping into tools like
1:47:05 these
1:47:07 is you know the the the critics to this
1:47:10 AI stuff are like a they thie that's all
1:47:13 that's you know that's someone else's IP
1:47:15 well it's it's an
1:47:17 amalgamation of like all the IP
1:47:24 it's not dissimilar to how our brains
1:47:26 work right you go to school so that you
1:47:29 ingest all these different concepts all
1:47:32 these different ideas if I go to school
1:47:34 and all I study is pop art from the
1:47:37 1980s Keith Herring and Andy Warhol and
1:47:40 lonstein and all those
1:47:42 guys the art that I'm going to make is
1:47:45 going to be inspired by that because
1:47:47 that's what I put into my latent space
1:47:50 into my Cranium cranium
1:47:55 and so these tools have been trained on
1:47:56 like all of
1:48:00 it and so if I want to just pop back out
1:48:04 to the explore tab okay here's a cool
1:48:06 machine Let's create a station for
1:48:15 that now we're getting all sorts of
1:48:17 weird wacky ass machines
1:48:25 but I'm not doing a sci-fi film so screw
1:48:28 that I'll go out and I'll say I want a
1:48:31 shitty car let's create a station out of
1:48:34 the shitty
1:48:37 car the economy
1:48:39 [Laughter]
1:48:42 Mercedes and I have no idea what this
1:48:46 prompt could possibly be that's got
1:48:48 anime girls and cars and monsters it's
1:48:51 bizarre
1:48:53 so go back
1:48:59 out create station out of her
1:49:13 [Music]
1:49:23 raw authenticity yeah collective
1:49:26 intelligence
1:49:28 um yeah it's weird
1:49:36 it's the way I think about all of these
1:49:40 models whether it's chat GPT or the
1:49:42 image models or the video
1:49:46 models think about a
1:49:50 library like if you've ever been to New
1:49:52 York City at the the the main Public
1:49:55 Library on 5th Avenue in 42nd
1:49:59 Street it is a staggeringly powerful
1:50:03 building and the amount of knowledge
1:50:06 that it represents is
1:50:09 insane one of my favorite things to do
1:50:11 when I lived in New York City one of my
1:50:13 favorite things to do was to go into the
1:50:16 the reading room at the New York City
1:50:19 Public Library which was like Cathedral
1:50:22 like
1:50:24 and just sit in that room and do work
1:50:26 work on a screenplay or you know work on
1:50:29 if I was if I was doing a play you know
1:50:32 learn my lines in there cuz you were
1:50:35 surrounded you were immersed in all this
1:50:40 knowledge but
1:50:43 what's what's funny is you were not
1:50:46 immersed in all that knowledge what you
1:50:48 were immersed
1:50:50 in was the potential for
1:50:54 knowledge right if you went to the
1:50:56 library enough and if you read enough of
1:50:58 the books and got them into your gray
1:51:02 matter it would turn from information
1:51:04 into
1:51:07 knowledge what machine learning has done
1:51:11 with these generative AI models based on
1:51:14 the
1:51:15 Transformer is it's actually taken the
1:51:19 knowledge of the world and compressed it
1:51:23 into a thing that lets us access it
1:51:27 instantly whatever we want in the
1:51:33 moment that's [ __ ]
1:51:36 staggering if you think about what a
1:51:38 library is and and over thousands of
1:51:43 years how you got [ __ ] out of the
1:51:46 library and into your head took
1:51:51 decades if you were really committed to
1:51:54 it you could pick one topic and read a
1:51:59 book a week on that topic for the rest
1:52:01 of your life and you get really good at
1:52:03 that one
1:52:07 topic and
1:52:17 now I can hop into chat GPT
1:52:27 I'd like you to educate me on an ancient
1:52:31 civilization that is completely obscure
1:52:33 that I will have never heard of so give
1:52:35 me five
1:52:42 options response one obscure ancient
1:52:46 civilizations date August 28th
1:52:49 2024 here are five obscure ancient
1:52:52 civilizations that are lesser known and
1:52:54 might pique your interest elmite
1:52:56 civilization 2700 to 539 BCE situated in
1:53:01 what is now Southwestern Iran the ele
1:53:05 right so I could pick one of those
1:53:07 obscure civilizations and in the next 15
1:53:10 minutes be completely educated on that I
1:53:14 could visualize it I could probably find
1:53:18 musical genres and Inspirations from
1:53:21 That civilization
1:53:23 probably generate music that's similar
1:53:26 to that
1:53:28 music I could make videos that bring
1:53:30 that Civilization to
1:53:36 life how long would that take in the
1:53:38 library like would you even do
1:53:41 it maybe if you were a
1:53:45 anthropologist and you were really into
1:53:47 it now we can just
1:53:49 casually interact with
1:53:54 stuff that right now is at the level of
1:53:56 like maybe a bachelor you know college
1:53:59 student or a high school student makes a
1:54:01 lot of mistakes but within the next 3
1:54:04 months when when this project Orion the
1:54:07 strawberry reasoning engine from open AI
1:54:10 comes
1:54:12 out we're going to have the equivalent
1:54:15 of PhD level expertise at any [ __ ]
1:54:19 thing we want to learn about or anything
1:54:21 we want to do or interact with
1:54:30 so if if I look at generative AI on that
1:54:34 scale on a Humanity
1:54:38 scale
1:54:40 [Applause]
1:54:44 the the rage and angst of you know they
1:54:48 took my art and didn't pay me for it I
1:54:52 understand it I understand the
1:54:54 frustration but the greater good here is
1:54:57 so
1:54:59 significantly more profound than any of
1:55:01 the individual pieces of it and if you
1:55:04 understand how the technology actually
1:55:05 works the individual pieces cease to
1:55:09 exist you can reconstruct things that
1:55:11 are kind of like
1:55:13 [Applause]
1:55:20 them just bonkers
1:55:32 Bonkers I I say this a lot and I don't
1:55:35 think I say it enough do you
1:55:39 get how [ __ ] astounding it is that
1:55:42 we're alive at this moment in
1:55:48 history this is this is literally like
1:55:51 being alive
1:55:53 when they rolled out the first printing
1:55:56 press and like all of your buddies were
1:56:00 monks that spent
1:56:03 years carefully learning how to draw
1:56:06 letters in perfect alignment so that
1:56:08 they could write out the
1:56:12 Bible then someone rolls out this giant
1:56:17 machine that perfectly prints page after
1:56:21 page after page
1:56:24 of the Bible what took a monk a year to
1:56:28 do could now be
1:56:32 recreated in a
1:56:39 week or imagine seeing the first tractor
1:56:43 when all you know are
1:56:45 horses and you know everything there is
1:56:47 to know about farming with
1:56:50 horses and someone rolls this giant
1:56:53 metal machine loud stinky
1:56:59 machine and you actually look at it and
1:57:02 you actually go holy
1:57:05 [ __ ] we're not going to need horses to
1:57:07 do this anymore and all the horse people
1:57:10 are like how dare you you [ __ ]
1:57:13 [ __ ] you
1:57:14 heretic no horses that's my livelihood
1:57:19 [Applause]
1:57:23 we get to be here when this is
1:57:32 happening
1:57:37 staggering and there's people that are
1:57:40 you know sitting back crossing their
1:57:42 arms well it's not you know it's not
1:57:44 ethical it's not this it's not that
1:57:56 and like I don't disagree but even if
1:57:58 they're
1:58:00 right it's not going away it's not going
1:58:04 away so you might as well jump in the
1:58:08 water's
1:58:21 fine
1:58:32 crazy zero prompting Singularity is near
1:58:35 it
1:58:37 is tonight was great a true learning lab
1:58:41 night thank you
1:58:44 Janu is this that same Deco here Channel
1:58:47 I've I've I've created like four
1:58:49 different stations I see something I
1:58:51 like and I I just
1:58:56 but I mean this
1:59:00 is I mean we're creating original images
1:59:04 right
1:59:05 now
1:59:07 [Laughter]
1:59:17 passively we're going to be the last
1:59:19 pure humans this Century we are Cosmic
1:59:22 Love
1:59:23 ever I appreciated you showing the
1:59:25 station. navigation thanks yeah you're
1:59:27 welcome yeah it's it's Deco here. but
1:59:31 the the feature is called
1:59:33 stations like a radio station it just
1:59:36 it's just playing the you know it's
1:59:38 playing the well in this case it's
1:59:40 actually generating the songs or the the
1:59:48 pictures so imagine the music version of
1:59:51 this you could actually do this right
1:59:53 now if assuming that udio or um sunno
1:59:57 has an
1:59:59 API you could create a radio
2:00:04 station an app that's that's a radio
2:00:08 station that just generates original
2:00:10 music and so all day you're just
2:00:13 listening to
2:00:14 music yeah exactly ULU exactly Mel it's
2:00:19 like given a style of music rap hip-hop
2:00:21 Etc
2:00:23 I want to show Deco here to my neighbor
2:00:24 who manages copyrights for the Dallas
2:00:26 Museum of Art yeah
2:00:31 exactly quite
2:00:33 frankly imagine a room in in the museum
2:00:37 Source camp that is 20
2:00:41 screens of Deco
2:00:44 here so you get you get an
2:00:46 artist or like this channel here's what
2:00:49 you pitch to them Source Camp pitch to
2:00:52 your friend at the Dallas Art
2:00:54 Museum give us a room with 20 monitors
2:00:58 in it 20 big ass
2:01:00 monitors and a and a projection
2:01:04 wall and this community is going to
2:01:06 curate 20
2:01:10 stations
2:01:12 and this exhibit is just going to be
2:01:14 these
2:01:15 rolling original images and by every
2:01:19 monitor is a big QR code and where the
2:01:23 QR code takes you is to that
2:01:25 station and so I as a viewer can now say
2:01:29 oh I love this panel of Art and I can
2:01:33 tap into that station and then I can
2:01:36 start making my own stations based on
2:01:39 the art from the
2:01:42 museum decco here DJs exactly an Murphy
2:01:49 exactly yeah you can change you can
2:01:51 change out the who who the DJs once a
2:01:54 month you change out the DJ and the DJ
2:01:57 comes in and curates a whole new set of
2:01:58 these
2:02:04 things why the [ __ ]
2:02:07 not you know if anything a museum should
2:02:10 be exploring the [ __ ] out of this
2:02:28 turn that into the
2:02:42 station you know you could
2:02:46 also if you go to the create mode in
2:02:49 Deco
2:02:50 here you can just roll the the
2:02:53 dice and it instantly
2:02:56 generates images based on whatever the
2:02:59 prompt
2:03:00 is so you could you can type
2:03:04 prompts but you can also
2:03:07 just roll the
2:03:09 dice and I don't have a paid
2:03:11 subscription right now but if you have a
2:03:12 paid subscription you can turn any of
2:03:15 these images into a station so I could
2:03:18 literally just sit here you could do
2:03:20 this in real time you know what would be
2:03:21 amazing source Camp you do that room you
2:03:24 you could that room could have different
2:03:26 modes one mode could be high art right
2:03:29 where it's you know you bring in a real
2:03:31 artist and this and that you could have
2:03:32 a mode in that you could in that same
2:03:34 room do a children's day where the
2:03:36 children get to come in and they get to
2:03:38 roll the dice on prompts and say oh I
2:03:42 like this let's turn that into so one of
2:03:43 the screens gets you know a station
2:03:46 based on these doggy images and then
2:03:49 they just keep rolling the dice and
2:03:50 there's shrimp Pizza
2:03:52 there's there's that's boring and that's
2:03:55 fine but whatever that's kind of
2:03:57 interesting but next okay that's good I
2:04:00 like
2:04:01 that so let's just go yeah let's let's
2:04:05 create a station based on
2:04:10 that the Museum of AI history in this
2:04:13 Wing is our six finger collection from
2:04:15 the early 223s exactly Brandon exactly
2:04:32 just [ __ ]
2:04:33 experience this AI [ __ ] just experience
2:04:37 it everyone f [ __ ] pontificating
2:04:41 about the validity of it is it art is it
2:04:45 this is it that is it theft is it
2:04:47 plagiarism [ __ ] use
2:04:50 it it's not going
2:05:04 away I'm doing no prompt engineering
2:05:06 here by the way none I'm rolling the
2:05:09 dice I'm literally rolling the dice
2:05:28 imagine if you
2:05:35 tried what this stuff makes possible is
2:05:38 just anyway all right enough blabbing
2:05:41 I've been
2:05:47 blabbing you're welcome look at that
2:05:49 hair good Lord that's gorgeous
2:05:52 Mel you still in here huh your product
2:05:56 is working look at good Lord that's
2:05:59 fantastic [ __ ]
2:06:05 awesome looks looks like something a
2:06:08 climber would be intimidated
2:06:16 by oh my
2:06:20 Lord all right
2:06:22 let's let's let's get a little more
2:06:25 serious here shall
2:06:29 we by the way Mel these these uh these
2:06:32 headbands very
2:06:43 toasty the pink bunny so cut see it's a
2:06:48 winter item it is this is this would be
2:06:52 good for winter right it's it's not good
2:06:54 for right
2:06:55 now you need to put that on every night
2:06:58 for Romper Room all right let's get out
2:06:59 of here all right that's good so if you
2:07:03 enjoyed tonight follow my channel
2:07:05 subscribe to the lives those support me
2:07:08 directly
2:07:10 um what you can do to support
2:07:13 yourself and to support this
2:07:16 community let me get these back on is
2:07:20 join the AI salon
2:07:37 join the
2:07:38 salon the salon.
2:07:42 A and keep coming back here night after
2:07:45 night you're like well why would I do
2:07:48 that you're wearing a [ __ ] pink bow
2:07:49 you goddamn weirdo
2:07:52 [Laughter]
2:07:55 because it's not about
2:07:57 me it's about this
2:08:02 community it's about all of
2:08:05 us trying to figure
2:08:10 out what are we going to
2:08:13 do what are we going to do with our
2:08:15 lives what are we going to
2:08:19 do in the time that this Channel's exist
2:08:22 Ed The Staggering Improvement of just
2:08:27 image generation models like the fact
2:08:29 that we could that Deco here thing where
2:08:32 I'm literally rolling the dice and it's
2:08:34 just spinning up new Concepts or I'm you
2:08:38 know picking an image out of the
2:08:39 cascading images that other people are
2:08:41 creating and I just pick one and I say
2:08:43 turn that into a station for
2:08:46 me a year ago that would have been like
2:08:49 that's not possible creating one image
2:08:52 takes 2 minutes and then it took 30
2:08:56 seconds and now it's like real time as
2:08:59 you're typing the prompt it's generating
2:09:01 the
2:09:03 image and you look at Mid Journey which
2:09:05 went from crazy ass [ __ ] up faces
2:09:08 weird ass hands
2:09:10 to
2:09:20 um that it
2:09:24 image Claire's
2:09:28 curiosity curiosity hippie
2:09:36 chick look like in a
2:09:41 year sometime in the next 3 months open
2:09:45 AI is going to
2:09:47 drop something that
2:09:50 changes everything
2:09:54 where these AI tools go from E they're
2:09:57 kind of janky and they kind of don't
2:09:58 work to it's going to
2:10:05 reason and then I think it'll be quickly
2:10:07 followed by agentic Behavior where it
2:10:10 can not only reason but it can take
2:10:12 action on your behalf what do we do in
2:10:15 that world I don't know like I don't
2:10:17 have a [ __ ] clue I can barely get my
2:10:20 head around me mid
2:10:24 journey I can barely get my head around
2:10:26 chat
2:10:28 gp4 and I [ __ ] think about this [ __ ]
2:10:34 247 I I can barely process it so why you
2:10:38 show up here why you join the AI
2:10:43 Salon is because no one's going to be
2:10:46 able to figure this out on their own
2:10:48 we're all going to have to collaborate
2:10:50 we're all going to have to help each
2:10:52 other we're all going to have to like go
2:10:54 yeah this is important we actually need
2:10:56 this stuff we actually need to look at
2:10:58 it this way and that way and don't be
2:11:00 afraid of it
2:11:01 but respect
2:11:04 it like a table saw have you ever used a
2:11:08 table
2:11:09 saw incredibly powerful tools they're
2:11:12 scary as [ __ ] they will take your finger
2:11:16 off you got to respect
2:11:19 them and then learn how to use them and
2:11:21 it'll change your life in woodworking
2:11:25 well that's these
2:11:27 things
2:11:30 with all of the brainy
2:11:33 [Laughter]
2:11:34 work all of
2:11:37 it and then once these things get into
2:11:40 robots which 20 [ __ ] companies are
2:11:42 working
2:11:45 on and have
2:11:48 reasoning then it's going to start doing
2:11:50 the physical labor
2:11:52 what are we going to do I don't [ __ ]
2:11:54 know but I'll tell you what I would much
2:11:57 rather be in this community trying to
2:11:58 figure it out together than on my own
2:12:00 just going uh this is kind of weird what
2:12:02 a uh I guess I probably should have paid
2:12:05 attention to that a couple of years ago
2:12:07 huh like I don't want to be that guy I
2:12:10 don't want any of you to be that
2:12:18 guy anyway all right
2:12:23 let's get out of
2:12:25 here
2:12:27 um Romper Room thank you regulars thank
2:12:30 you
2:12:31 mods um I know these nights are tough to
2:12:34 mod because I'm so so focused on
2:12:37 playing my neighbor with Parkinson's
2:12:40 just bought an AI exoskeleton technology
2:12:42 is going to help so many people I I'm
2:12:44 telling you man like the the amount of
2:12:48 accessibility that the world is about to
2:12:52 it's just going to be
2:12:54 like I don't want to use the word gifted
2:12:56 but it's effectively being gifted on the
2:12:59 world just accessibility from sight to
2:13:03 speech to Mobility to memories to
2:13:10 loneliness staggering staggering stuff
2:13:12 coming all right see now I got myself
2:13:15 all [ __ ] worked up you
2:13:20 weirdos all right all right let's see
2:13:23 kakee good to see you Joey Rachel
2:13:26 Sparkles possibilities are endless Be
2:13:28 not Afraid thank you Danielle as
2:13:32 always um let's see
2:13:35 abundance oh flow manifestation nice
2:13:38 name dig
2:13:39 it um I want to learn how to use AI to
2:13:42 create more videos with
2:13:44 inspiration beautiful we we can play
2:13:47 with that
2:13:48 tomorrow inspiration manifestation
2:13:52 super super easy to do
2:13:55 now doing good storytelling is still a
2:13:58 bit hard but you
2:13:59 know Silver Fox great to see you Janu
2:14:02 good to see you Cosmic lovers Source
2:14:05 Camp so so we we have a wing in the
2:14:08 Dallas art museum is that what you're
2:14:09 telling us Kelly Corey Sandler Pottery
2:14:12 have a good one deal of the day great to
2:14:14 see you Daisy May thanks for coming I
2:14:17 have come here for osmosis learning that
2:14:19 is it
2:14:22 I'm not teaching you
2:14:26 [ __ ] this is
2:14:28 about taking this time for yourself to
2:14:32 play while I play and occasionally
2:14:35 something I say may squirt in your head
2:14:37 or something someone posts in a comment
2:14:39 May squirt in your head but this is
2:14:40 really about you creating the space for
2:14:43 yourself to be in this conversation Kyle
2:14:46 mention the salon and how you should
2:14:47 join again please so go to the
2:14:50 salon. that'll take you to our website
2:14:53 scroll down there's a button that says
2:14:54 join our community click on that button
2:14:58 it'll take you into step one of a
2:15:00 six-step kind of Welcome experience that
2:15:04 we designed um it's really fun doesn't
2:15:07 cost you anything Step One is learn
2:15:10 about the salon and the journey to AI
2:15:14 literacy that you experience if you jump
2:15:17 into this party and then there's just
2:15:20 six six little steps to to do they're
2:15:23 all
2:15:24 easy and you'll get to know who we are
2:15:26 and what we're
2:15:28 about dror Jay in the house Tobias in
2:15:31 the house great to see you Joy Pie as
2:15:34 always Silver Fox Marina she recall
2:15:46 [Music]
2:15:48 Tech script Rhythm nice name
2:15:52 like that
2:15:53 name I got Story vine you've got script
2:15:56 Rhythm Teton AI thank you so much
2:15:59 appreciate the
2:16:03 gift all right I'm gonna get out of here
2:16:05 an Murphy good to see you Becky R good
2:16:07 to see you it was very close for you
2:16:10 ruining our whole night Becky you got us
2:16:12 age restricted turns out it wasn't you
2:16:14 but that's not the
2:16:15 point just you mind your p's and your
2:16:18 q's and your
2:16:20 ruse Kyle mention Pete's learn and do
2:16:23 meeting tomorrow okay so when you go to
2:16:26 the salon in the guilds there's there's
2:16:30 one of the guilds in the tech in the
2:16:33 tech
2:16:34 collection is learn and do with Peter
2:16:37 Peter
2:16:39 Kaminsky he is a
2:16:42 saintly
2:16:45 patient intelligent man who will teach
2:16:49 you how to use mid Journey teach you how
2:16:50 to program so learn and do with Peter is
2:16:52 one of the guilds within the salon you
2:16:54 should be hanging out in
2:16:56 there um so it sounds like tomorrow at
2:16:59 400 p.m. mountain time is the next
2:17:02 meeting with learn and do with Peter so
2:17:04 go check that out the salon the tech
2:17:09 area all
2:17:11 right all right everybody I'm out of
2:17:14 here Tuesday night I'll see you tomorrow
2:17:17 hope you had fun hope you learn
2:17:19 something hope my pontiff ating wasn't
2:17:22 too
2:17:23 pontify but you
2:17:27 know take in the moment we're
2:17:30 in we never ever get to experience being
2:17:36 at the beginning of this ever
2:17:40 again we're going to look back on these
2:17:42 days with
2:17:45 Nostalgia remember when we had to have a
2:17:48 human in the loop remember when they
2:17:50 made mist
2:17:51 mistakes remember those funny
2:17:57 hands take all this
2:17:59 in take it
2:18:02 in talk about it Learn out
2:18:05 Loud don't let people intimidate you I'm
2:18:08 so sick of you talking about
2:18:11 AI [ __ ] those people talk about it
2:18:15 anyway you should that face they make

2:19:08 clever it can do that oh
2:19:10 my get them to have their first Kevin
2:19:13 McAllister moment [ __ ]
2:19:16 them understand what they're afraid
2:19:18 about and then show them something cool

2:20:15 we're just early we're just early and
2:20:18 and it's
2:20:19 um there there's just a lot of reasons
2:20:21 people think they need to be more
2:20:23 technical than they actually need to be
2:20:25 um people are afraid of it because of
2:20:27 Hollywood told us the robots are going
2:20:29 to kill us um there are some very real
2:20:35 ethical questions and
2:20:37 concerns
2:20:40 um there is some very real this is going
2:20:42 to [ __ ] up what we call work it's also
2:20:47 going to reinvent what we call work and
2:20:49 make some REM remarkable new things
2:20:53 possible but that's you know so people
2:20:55 are just afraid of it right now so
2:20:57 that's that's just that's just where we
2:20:59 are we'll be a busy night tomorrow
2:21:01 because Nvidia announces earnings
2:21:03 tomorrow afternoon oh interesting that
