24. 5:56better um it is becoming clear to me and you know it's funny I've been talking about this for four or five months that you should
25. 6:06just build [ __ ] and assume that what you're building is just going to be trash in a few months um and I think when I first started
26. 6:16saying that the Instinct was there but the tech hadn't really gotten to the point where it was patly clear that
27. 6:25anything that you were building is going to be useless in a couple of months and I think I think that's part of the
28. 6:33overwhelm for me is that these tools [Music] are you know so for most of 2023 everyone said we're going to have a
29. 6:46tool that's just as good as gp4 and we'd hear it and we'd all get excited and we'd Scamper on over to whatever the
30. 6:53announcement was and we'd look and we go nah it sucks and then we'd Scamper back to chat gp4 and we keep building
31. 7:01right and then I think I think this this past 3 weeks is the first time where you know Claude 3 drops and it looks like it's in the hood if
32. 7:16not better in some things and there's some things it's much better at right it's got a larger context window it's
33. 7:22like oh [ __ ] and then um Gemini Pro 1.5 I started hearing in Lings of that and it's like oh [ __ ] here's another one and
34. 7:33then so if you've now got three three models that are in the hood of chat gp4 then you really do have to look at well
35. 7:42is one of them actually much better than chat gp4 for something I need and how do you the only way to really learn that or to yeah to to
36. 7:56discover that is to really go use it and then piie drops and they're like we've got one that's as good as gp42 and
37. 8:04that's a completely different modality right that one's designed to have a conversation with well so what does that [ __ ]
38. 8:13mean and then you know these video tools take Sora out of the picture the video tools are starting to get more
39. 8:20sophisticated right where pabs is now doing lip syncing and now it's doing sound effects and 11 Labs is doing sound
40. 8:28effects so the the individual peie part tools that we used to just go okay I'll go to 11 labs for this one function and
41. 8:36I'll go to Pika for this one function and I'll go here for that one function and then I'll figure out how to put them
42. 8:42all together now they're getting more sophisticated and better and so it's like oh [ __ ] now I got to go figure out okay which of the
43. 8:50three or four things that hey Jen can do is actually the thing I want to use and is that different from D- ID and is that oh my God
44. 9:01it's like it's like I'm so sad and overwhelmed like it's just not good it's just not good [Music]

49. 10:16Shannon and here's her new show called grids of dis Qui and so let me tell you something I didn't use AI for this I used like old Egyptian
50. 10:30like Amelio's wife I am an artist and I am an artist heard about the one bit architecture for llms no I didn't hey
51. 10:39Gabby girl um so this is so it's called grids of disquiet right so so everything here is on a 15inch grid and so I had I
52. 10:49had all sorts of tools that I made and little inventions I took a heavy string and I marked the string every 15 in so
53. 10:57all I had to do was identify one whole and then I could I could do grids up and down and I had a level with grid marks
54. 11:04on it that I could do left and right so we hung it pretty quick but but here's all the that's that it's looking pretty
55. 11:14cool and then there's one of the there's one of the grids some of them are still a little crooked she's going to go in
56. 11:21and and straighten them all but they're like the pieces are really cool the pieces are they're these multi uh multimedia or
57. 11:36m not multimedia uh you know like Fabric and paper and acrylic right aren't they cool oh and that one's going to be blue so it's like
58. 11:52this is a long this to the left of this is the blue wall and then to the right of of this is the yellow wall and so the walls call to one
59. 12:13another groovy see like there's the little blue ones in the corner that call to the blue wall nice right a't that cool so that
60. 12:28was my day that [ __ ] takes longer than you think it's going to this is actual this is actual non AI art woo all analog all analog
61. 12:43baby massive show congrats Gabby yeah it's a Big Show and it's just it's what's cool is like each of the pieces
62. 12:49the pieces are just 12 x 12 so just nice and small but like one grid of them is is kind of impressive but having I think
63. 12:57she's got four different colors there's red yellow green and blue yeah four different colors and then it's the grids become
64. 13:05part of the art the individual pieces become part of the art all that sort of stuff how was the lettering done it was
65. 13:11just um I just designed it in um in illustrator and then it's just vinyl vinyl pressant they give you a big
66. 13:21sheet that's a pain in the ass to do getting those things straight that sucked this thing so it came in two pieces the dis quiet and
67. 13:30Gabrielle Shannon was one sheet and then the grids of was another sheet and it had little arrows to line them up so you
68. 13:37have to like you know get them straight on the wall you know lined up with the grid and then um and then what else did I have to do
69. 13:47oh then you have to like tape one side and peel off the back on one half of them and that's a pain in the ass and so just uh vinyl vinyl
70. 13:58lettering that's a lot of work Kyle I know tell me about it I got home I took a I took a little nappy and then I woke up and
71. 14:07there's like there's just a ton of ton of [ __ ] to do a ton of [ __ ] happened today and so I was I was looking at some
72. 14:16of the things like I was over playing on Google's their development back end like like the Google equivalent of open AI playground
73. 14:28and and by the way this this embraced the Jank this is from Gavin from the from the Irregulars Channel cat GPT uses enough power for
74. 14:38174,000 homes daily yeah it doesn't surprise me you got 100 million people cranking on that thing yeah I think listen I think
75. 14:55compute power and energy is going to be one of the things that needs to be solved solved um and I think it will be
76. 15:02I think AI is going to solve some major major challenges we have you know you got friends with sign business hell I
77. 15:09would have donated oh Tobias that's very sweet I you know I I forget about that I don't listen I don't I do not want to
78. 15:16take advantage I very much appreciate the offer um and also just being being being fully add and all um I
79. 15:27ordered that sign I ordered that sign on Thursday and I had to install it today I was cutting it a little close uh but

103. 20:174 there's a thing in chat GPT 4 called uh code interpreter so you can say um um give me a table with
104. 20:35some hypothetical data about uh let's see some hypothetical data with three data
105. 20:51points about five different animals where those data points could be
106. 21:10graphed and all I'm and see where it says analyzing now so it what it's actually doing when it says analyzing is
107. 21:16it's running this thing called code interpreter it's writing its own python code and executing it so it just gave us
108. 21:25a little spreadsheet lion speed 80 lifespan 14 years oh it's putting it in a nice table for us look at this see this in the
109. 21:37Swell this data could be graphed to analyze the relationships um I would I would sincerely
110. 21:53appreciate appre E8 if you would be so kind as to visualize that data in a way that is
111. 22:11esthetically pleasing and yes that so if if you if you haven't played with chat GPT before you absolutely have to talk to it as if
112. 22:23it is an Ivy League douchebag I never get swell tables oh Amelio's wife at least you are

128. 25:27about yeah yes yes Tik Tok is likely using all of our data in nefarious ways but you know who did it before them Facebook and
129. 25:39Google they've already stolen all of our data it's already gone no one's saving us they're just trying to let um Google
130. 25:51and Facebook be the only ones that have the data Elon will buy it and ex talk it yeah exactly you can make
131. 26:01money they're just just people trying to make money I like I try not to get too exercised over this [ __ ] because you
132. 26:09know lobbyists going to Lobby corruption's going to corrupt you know what is it power corrupts absolute

137. 27:08dream would be to take the visual from gp4 and stylize it like we can stylize images yeah you can probably you can
138. 27:17probably do that there there's there's probably tools to do that Daniel like part of the part of the deal with with
139. 27:26visualizing um data is that there are there are graphing applications out there that do all sorts of really cool
140. 27:34data visualization you don't need AI for that what will be really cool is when you can when the when when the data visualization
141. 27:47tools put a gp4 layer on top of their tool where you can just go in and ask it an English question and like upload a
142. 27:56data set ask it to visual it and then ask it you know to use to to I don't know recommend a style that it's got or
143. 28:04recommend graphs or things like that where what it's actually doing is it's using the software that's already been
144. 28:10written that's really complicated but it's it's doing all the switches and dials and finding everything for you so
145. 28:18that'll be there the other thing I would say Daniel is go to um futurepedia doio and that's a a big giant ass
146. 28:28directory of AI tools and um just go search for graphing you know charting and graphing there I'd be surprised if
147. 28:38there wasn't some kick-ass charting tool that's got some ai ai super powers behind it can you go live from mighty I
148. 28:48can the problem with going live from mighty is that um is that it's we're limited to 20 hours a month for the whole community so
149. 29:01I don't I would eat that up in a in a week um so I don't I don't want to do that I think I think what I'm what I'm
150. 29:10considering doing is I've got a subscription to streamyard which would allow me to go live horizontal um so I I I think what I
151. 29:21might be do I what I might do at some point is switch to maybe a like a more I don't know if it's focused is the right word but a
152. 29:30more something that's easier to teach like the kind of [ __ ] I'm doing right here where you can you know watch it on
153. 29:37YouTube or you can watch it on LinkedIn so I think what I might do is a hybrid kind of approach where I start out on
154. 29:42Tik Tok and then I'll switch over to that thing um and maybe even do that for subscribers or something like that so I
155. 29:49don't I I haven't quite figured it out yet I I just need to put in the time to figure out the tools and then I can then
156. 29:55I can figure it out but it's it's it's definitely like this is definitely not the optimal way to teach people how to use [ __ ] on a

164. 31:20website alone probably more than that if you look at you know fans of this Channel and and um we've got a disc
165. 31:27Discord and people come to our meetings we have bi-weekly meetings so this is a group of AI adventurers so people that are
166. 31:36choosing to explore this AI stuff together and it's a really remarkable group and so um when you get here come
167. 31:45to this page welcome to the AI Salon read about who we are why we do what we do how we do it and then check out our
168. 31:52values the values are are a really important part of this community because the values that that I'm about to walk
169. 32:01through are not like what we want this community to be it's what this community already is so my request to you if

177. 32:57this [ __ ] it share what you're learning connect with other people and say oh hey look I just tried this and it worked hey
178. 33:06look I just tried this and it failed miserably or if someone says o that's really a beautiful picture how did you
179. 33:13do that well here's what I did and here's the thought process and whatever it might be and maybe you don't give
180. 33:17them your exact prompt but you say Hey you can go explore it this way or maybe I'll make a GPT and I'll put it in there
181. 33:26right it's a very generous group it's it's like an incredibly rare thing in online communities they tend to be
182. 33:32stingy and selfish this one's not exploration we want people that are like ready to sling the backpack on and just
183. 33:39[ __ ] head out into the unknown because that's what we're all doing whether we choose to do it or not and so
184. 33:46I want people in this community that are choosing to be on the adventure like like to the to the to the
185. 33:55trolls Point earlier why are you on Tik tock cuz why not because I'm on an adventure you want to come on an adventure come with me and
186. 34:06come with this community collaboration this is also a very collaborative group group inclusion inclusion is a really interesting one
187. 34:16right like there there's there's sort of you know the inclusion that is is now part of the political conversation but there's also just
188. 34:25like if every single job is going to be upended and redefined over the next 5 to 10 years every single
189. 34:39job that means that every single person is going to be impacted by Ai and so that means that by definition
190. 34:49people coming into this community are going to be coming from all sorts of different backgrounds professional backgrounds social backgrounds
191. 34:58um experience backgrounds we've got people in this community with phds and Mathematics we've got people in this
192. 35:04community that are Potters Corey Sandler Pottery go f follow Cory Sandler Pottery on Tik Tok um we've got people that have been doing
193. 35:19this [ __ ] for 30 years this AI stuff and we've got people that are like oh my God what do I do where do I start I'm in a
194. 35:26panic and everyone in between so imagine joining a community where you've got all the anxiety that you've got as a human being
195. 35:37like Oh my God what are they going to think of me what what if they judge me what if you joined a community and that
196. 35:42didn't happen that all you had to be was curious and generous in spirit and this community would welcome you with open
197. 35:50arms that's what this community is it's [ __ ] remarkable again doesn't really exist in America right right now right we've been
198. 35:59trained you know we talk about why are they Banning Tik Tock and you know there's there's reasons for that we've also been
199. 36:07trained to get into our one of two tribes and wear our uniforms for our tribes and if we see someone in in the
200. 36:17other trib's uniform what are we supposed to do hate them what if there were a community where that wasn't the case
201. 36:28that you didn't talk about that [ __ ] that you just came in here and said whatat are you up to I I'm up to this
202. 36:33what are you up to I'm up to this which leads nicely to the next value of empathy and I know the question was hey
203. 36:44what was that site where all those tools were that's that's what you get at Chad add at the AI learning lab sometimes you
204. 36:52got to run down a rabbit hole with me I'll get there I will and and The Irregular in the mods will will make
205. 36:58sure that I Circle back to the point eventually but empathy why is that an important thing in this community
206. 37:09well if you're if you're exploring Ai and you're talking about it you're being at all public about it I assume that you've experienced what
207. 37:18we've all experienced which is AI sucks you're an [ __ ] what are you doing with ai ai steals AI robots are going to kill us
208. 37:29there's a lot of fear there's a lot of anger there's a lot of resistance there's a lot of resentment there's a lot of there's a lot of
209. 37:45misunderstanding yeah the salon. AI is greater than a community Brandon said that's a really good point it really
210. 37:56is but you know when someone comes in and they're like when they come into this Channel and they're like AI
211. 38:03sucks it's it's not a fight to have like you know understand that different people are going to be in different places
212. 38:11right some people might just be so so afraid they're not even willing to see it for what it is that's where I
213. 38:18think most people are or they're just dismissive well it's not perfect I'll deal with it when it gets there and
214. 38:25those people are probably going to have to deal with it invol arily like I hate that I hate that for them
215. 38:34and so understanding where people are first and then say ah I understand yeah I get that fear I understand why you'd
216. 38:41be afraid then that makes sense to me want to see something cool right and then show him something cool and get him
217. 38:48on the other side of it because once people experience what AI is for the most part you know it it de demonizes it it
218. 38:57it demystifies it and the last one is gratitude it's like if you come into a community like this without a
219. 39:09clue and you're welcom with open arms and people give you a leg up and support you and inspire you and sort of carry
220. 39:17you on the journey and then you get promoted at work or you get to do a big presentation or whatever it might be you
221. 39:25help out a friend with AI where you didn't think it was possible before acknowledge them and that's what this
222. 39:31group is too there's a lot of there's a lot of acknowledgement here I had mid Journey app but now it's
223. 39:37gone can somebody post a link so I can go to it um I I don't think there was a mid Journey app there was Discord so so you have to
224. 39:50if you're going to be doing mid Journey you have to do mid journey in Discord so mayy go look for Discord and then it's

231. 40:48AI like take the risk I know it's risky I know it's [ __ ] terrifying my daughter totally hates AI so I've been sending her pretty
232. 40:57art starring her kitties that's awesome yeah exactly yeah you you know something that could help Silver Fox um is is if you
233. 41:18can if you can create safe zones for her to absolutely not use AI but then other zones where she could use
234. 41:28it so so for example I don't know what she does if she's an artist or a writer like her safe Zone might be I will never
235. 41:35use AI for writing you know for creative writing or I'll never use it to make art okay great yep totally respect that
236. 41:42definitely don't do it for that but you know um when you were trying to put together that project plan you know you
237. 41:48could you could use AI over here for project planning right so she's a skydiver oh okay well actually damn I
238. 41:56bet there's all sorts of cool [ __ ] you could do with AI with skydiving although I wouldn't I wouldn't
239. 42:02want to plan anything for skydiving with AI cuz that's a place where you don't want hallucinations that's [ __ ] awesome
240. 42:11she's the skydiver that's super cool all right well she she she might be one of those professions where she she she
241. 42:20other than trusting the pilot to make sure they're using the right AI she might not have to deal with it okay so

246. 43:03just play with the tools play like it doesn't [ __ ] matter because it doesn't [ __ ] matter and then the
