2:52 he's not liking it he's a little
2:54 distressed he's a little distressed
2:57 tonight what is happening happening
3:00 happening Kim hey Kyle good to see you
3:02 good to see you too welcome welcome
3:04 welcome everybody my name is Kyle
3:05 Shannon this is the AI learning lab you
3:07 know what we're going to learn here
3:09 AI in a lab like setting without the lab
3:13 coat or the
3:18 lab we might not learn
3:23 [ __ ] embrace the Jank embrace the Jank
3:26 people so listen AI tools are janky AI
3:31 learning lab
3:32 professors equally janky probably more
3:36 janky embrace the
3:40 Jank I said that to someone the other
3:42 day getting ready to go on a
3:49 podcast I said embrace the Jank and he
3:51 was like never I was like not sure if
3:55 we're not sure if we're compatible there
3:59 buddy
4:02 [Music]
4:15 oh you like that
4:20 [Music]
4:29 one
4:30 [Music]
4:45 all right let's see what are we going to
4:47 do tonight there's a lot going
4:50 [Music]
4:54 on I got access to Gemini
4:59 1.5
5:05 looks like some people got access to 11
5:09 Labs sound
5:12 effects thanks
5:14 for your overwhelming
5:17 video you're welcome the video the the
5:21 video was overwhelming or the topic was
5:23 being
5:24 overwhelmed I don't know if I've got any
5:26 videos that are actually overwhelming I
5:29 I would call most of my videos
5:31 underwhelming at
5:34 best but yes there was one that had the
5:36 topic of overwhelm uh yeah I thank you
5:40 for acknowledging that I I
5:43 [Music]
5:50 um as these tools are getting more
5:56 better um it is becoming clear to me and
6:00 you know it's funny I've been talking
6:01 about this
6:02 for four or five months that you should
6:06 just build [ __ ] and assume that what
6:08 you're building is just going to be
6:10 trash in a few
6:11 months
6:14 um and I think when I first started
6:16 saying that the Instinct was there but
6:19 the tech hadn't really gotten to the
6:21 point where it was patly clear that
6:25 anything that you were building is going
6:28 to be
6:30 useless in a couple of months and I
6:32 think I think that's part of the
6:34 overwhelm for me is that these tools
6:38 [Music]
6:41 are you know so for most of
6:44 2023 everyone said we're going to have a
6:47 tool that's just as good as gp4 and we'd
6:50 hear it and we'd all get excited and
6:52 we'd Scamper on over to whatever the
6:53 announcement was and we'd look and we go
6:56 nah it sucks and then we'd Scamper back
6:58 to chat gp4 and we keep building
7:01 right and then I think I think this this
7:04 past 3 weeks is the first time where you
7:08 know Claude 3 drops
7:12 and it looks like it's in the hood if
7:16 not better in some things and there's
7:18 some things it's much better at right
7:20 it's got a larger context window it's
7:22 like oh [ __ ] and then um Gemini Pro 1.5
7:28 I started hearing in Lings of that and
7:30 it's like oh [ __ ] here's another one and
7:33 then so if you've now got three three
7:36 models that are in the hood of chat gp4
7:39 then you really do have to look at well
7:42 is one of them actually much better than
7:45 chat gp4 for something I
7:49 need and how do you the only way to
7:52 really learn that or to yeah to to
7:56 discover that is to really go use it
8:00 and then piie drops and they're like
8:02 we've got one that's as good as gp42 and
8:05 that's a completely different modality
8:07 right that one's designed to have a
8:08 conversation with well so what does that
8:10 [ __ ]
8:13 mean and then you know these video tools
8:17 take Sora out of the picture the video
8:19 tools are starting to get more
8:21 sophisticated right where pabs is now
8:24 doing lip syncing and now it's doing
8:26 sound effects and 11 Labs is doing sound
8:29 effects so the the individual peie part
8:32 tools that we used to just go okay I'll
8:34 go to 11 labs for this one function and
8:36 I'll go to Pika for this one function
8:38 and I'll go here for that one function
8:41 and then I'll figure out how to put them
8:42 all together now they're getting more
8:44 sophisticated and
8:46 better and so it's like oh [ __ ] now I
8:49 got to go figure out okay which of the
8:51 three or four things that hey Jen can do
8:54 is actually the thing I want to use and
8:55 is that different from D- ID and is that
8:59 oh my God
9:02 it's like it's
9:05 like I'm so sad and
9:10 overwhelmed like it's just not good it's
9:14 just not good
9:15 [Music]
9:20 people um so there's
9:24 that and then um I'll show you what I
9:26 was doing today I did not work to well
9:28 no I worked my ass off today
9:33 um but I was not working at storyvine
9:36 today so some of you in this here uh
9:41 some of you Irregulars like Cory Sandler
9:44 Pottery are actual
9:48 fullon full-on artists and so I was what
9:53 my wife lovingly refers to as her art
9:57 [ __ ] I was hanging her show
10:00 today let me go show
10:03 you I'm actually really happy with
10:06 the this was this was a high math High
10:09 math
10:12 show so there's Gabby that's the lovely
10:16 Mrs
10:17 Shannon and here's her new show called
10:19 grids of dis
10:21 Qui and so let me tell you something I
10:25 didn't use AI for this I used like old
10:28 Egyptian
10:30 like Amelio's wife I am an artist and I
10:34 am an artist heard about the one bit
10:37 architecture for llms no I didn't hey
10:39 Gabby girl um so this is so it's called
10:43 grids of disquiet right so so everything
10:46 here is on a 15inch grid and so I had I
10:50 had all sorts of tools that I made and
10:52 little inventions I took a heavy string
10:55 and I marked the string every 15 in so
10:57 all I had to do was identify one whole
11:00 and then I could I could do grids up and
11:02 down and I had a level with grid marks
11:04 on it that I could do left and right so
11:06 we hung it pretty quick but but here's
11:09 all
11:10 the that's that it's looking pretty
11:15 cool and then there's one of the there's
11:18 one of the grids some of them are still
11:19 a little crooked she's going to go in
11:21 and and straighten them
11:26 all but they're like the pieces are
11:28 really cool the pieces
11:32 are they're these multi uh multimedia or
11:36 m not multimedia uh you know like Fabric
11:39 and paper and
11:47 acrylic right aren't they cool oh and
11:50 that one's going to be blue so it's like
11:52 this is a long this to the left of this
11:57 is the blue wall and then to the right
11:59 of of this is the yellow
12:01 wall and
12:03 so the walls call to one
12:13 another
12:15 groovy see like there's the little blue
12:18 ones in the corner that call to the blue
12:25 wall nice right a't that cool so that
12:29 was my day that [ __ ] takes longer than
12:31 you think it's going
12:33 to this is actual this is actual non AI
12:37 art woo all analog all analog
12:44 baby massive show congrats Gabby yeah
12:46 it's a Big Show and it's just it's
12:48 what's cool is like each of the pieces
12:50 the pieces are just 12 x 12 so just nice
12:52 and
12:53 small but like one grid of them is is
12:56 kind of impressive but having I think
12:58 she's got four different colors there's
12:59 red yellow green and blue yeah four
13:01 different
13:02 colors and then it's the grids become
13:05 part of the art the individual pieces
13:08 become part of the art all that sort of
13:09 stuff how was the lettering done it was
13:12 just um I just designed it in
13:16 um in illustrator and then it's just
13:19 vinyl vinyl pressant they give you a big
13:21 sheet that's a pain in the ass to do
13:24 getting those things
13:25 straight that sucked this thing so it
13:29 came in two pieces the dis quiet and
13:31 Gabrielle Shannon was one sheet and then
13:33 the grids of was another sheet and it
13:35 had little arrows to line them up so you
13:37 have to like you know get them straight
13:39 on the wall you know lined up with the
13:42 grid and then
13:45 um and then what else did I have to do
13:47 oh then you have to like tape one side
13:49 and peel off the back on one half of
13:51 them and that's a pain in the ass and so
13:55 just uh vinyl vinyl
13:58 lettering
14:01 that's a lot of work Kyle I know tell me
14:03 about it I got home I took a I took a
14:05 little nappy and then I woke up and
14:08 there's like there's just a ton of ton
14:10 of [ __ ] to do a ton of [ __ ] happened
14:13 today and so I was I was looking at some
14:16 of the things like I was over playing on
14:19 Google's their development back end like
14:22 like the Google equivalent of open AI
14:26 playground
14:28 and and by the way this this embraced
14:31 the Jank this is from
14:32 Gavin from the from the Irregulars
14:35 Channel cat GPT uses enough power for
14:38 174,000 homes daily yeah it doesn't
14:42 surprise me you got 100 million people
14:44 cranking on that
14:51 thing yeah I think listen I think
14:55 compute power and energy is going to be
14:57 one of the things that needs to be
14:59 solved solved um and I think it will be
15:02 I think AI is going to solve some major
15:05 major challenges we have you know you
15:07 got friends with sign business hell I
15:10 would have donated oh Tobias that's very
15:12 sweet I you know I I forget about that I
15:14 don't listen I don't I do not want to
15:16 take advantage I very much appreciate
15:18 the offer
15:20 um and also just
15:23 being being being fully add and all um I
15:27 ordered that sign I ordered that sign on
15:31 Thursday and I had to install it today I
15:33 was cutting it a little close uh but
15:36 anyway um but I'll you know what I'll
15:38 I'll reach out to you we we should
15:39 connect anyway because there there's
15:41 some stuff that we could be we could be
15:43 uh collaborating on which I know we've
15:45 talked about so thank you for saying
15:47 that um all right my my lips have got
15:52 Jank all over them hang on a
15:56 sec the hell is going on here
16:02 oh what's on the drinks tonight this is
16:03 uh Vitamin Water I thought it was going
16:06 to be two packets of raspberry but I
16:08 accidentally dumped a packet of
16:10 raspberry and a packet of orange
16:16 so it's I it's pretty much just adult
16:22 Kool-Aid like I can justify it as
16:25 vitamins cuz it says what's it called
16:28 emergency it's emergency so it's not
16:31 vitamin water it's
16:34 emergency so that's that and then of
16:37 course a lovely
16:44 coffee add a number to to the sign next
16:47 time and we've got that smaller uh we've
16:49 got it on the on the the bio it's it's
16:52 there and it's on the cards that that
16:55 people will take away but thank you good
16:57 idea all right can't get anything useful
17:00 with regard to text even with mid
17:02 Journey 6 So Daniel
17:05 tinsky go to id.
17:09 a here
17:11 watch let's go we'll go together tinsky
17:16 Ty
17:18 N
17:20 Ski so we're going to
17:23 go oh and then there's sunno I gotso 3.0
17:27 access I paid for that [ __ ] tired of
17:31 paying for this stupid [ __ ] it's too
17:34 janky to be paying for it but it's I I
17:36 know it's expensive to run these servers
17:38 so I do not
17:40 fault any of the Developers for their uh
17:43 charging for it but I [ __ ] hate
17:48 it okay so let's see we'll
17:52 do um poster of a
17:56 [Music]
17:58 stadium
18:00 Rock
18:03 show where the band is in the distance
18:10 and the crowd
18:14 is
18:16 screaming on the
18:20 Jumbotron it
18:24 says
18:26 Daniel
18:28 tinsky
18:33 [Music]
18:36 your um you left your lights
18:48 on and we'll do 16 by9 and we'll
18:51 generate that
18:53 [ __ ] so this is ideogram
18:57 aai there's a better a or I in
19:08 sleep uh I lost the champion
19:11 show what's it
19:14 using it's just using its own
19:19 model it didn't put it on a but there's
19:22 your text Daniel tinsky you left your
19:24 lights
19:28 on
19:35 it actually it does decent typography
19:40 too I it got all four of these right
19:44 that's wild normally it'll get like one
19:46 right two close and one there's not even
19:48 text on it this is four out of four
19:51 although it didn't put it on the
19:52 Jumbotron it just has them kind of like
19:54 a magazine ad but that's all right but
19:56 anyway id. a and they they give you free
20:00 credits per day like some amount of free
20:01 credits per day any way to create a
20:03 graph or a chart from data not yet you
20:06 so if you want to create a charter a
20:08 graph from data look at Daniel coming in
20:10 Swinging with the good the really good
20:12 questions okay so if you go to chat GPT
20:18 4 there's a thing in chat GPT 4 called
20:22 uh code interpreter
20:25 so you can say um
20:31 um give me a table with
20:36 some
20:38 hypothetical data
20:42 about uh let's see some hypothetical
20:46 data with
20:49 three data
20:52 points about five different
20:58 animals
20:59 where those data
21:03 points could be
21:10 graphed and all I'm and see where it
21:12 says analyzing now so it what it's
21:15 actually doing when it says analyzing is
21:17 it's running this thing called code
21:18 interpreter it's writing its own python
21:22 code and executing it so it just gave us
21:25 a little spreadsheet lion speed 80
21:29 lifespan 14 years oh it's putting it in
21:31 a nice table for us look at this see
21:34 this in the
21:38 Swell this data could be graphed to
21:41 analyze the relationships um I
21:46 would I would
21:49 sincerely
21:53 appreciate appre E8 if you would be so
21:59 kind as to
22:02 visualize that
22:04 data in a way that is
22:11 esthetically
22:14 pleasing and yes that so if if you if
22:18 you haven't played with chat GPT before
22:21 you absolutely have to talk to it as if
22:23 it is an Ivy League
22:28 douchebag
22:32 I never get swell
22:35 tables oh Amelio's wife at least you are
22:39 on time
22:40 tonight there's listen you've got to
22:43 look for the you've got to look for the
22:44 the Silver Linings here how come you're
22:47 typing everything what happened to
22:49 Abracadabra well yeah you know what it
22:52 is ever since I put this this thing
22:55 here uh the uh the paper here so so you
22:58 guys can the text the the little buttons
23:01 covered up so it's just a pain in the
23:03 ass uh but I'll do that again I I'll
23:05 start abracadab bring and then what's
23:07 this say speed by animal lifespan by
23:11 animal and then let's see
23:14 um can we
23:18 visualize it in a single
23:22 graph uh graph and um rank the animals
23:31 using the
23:34 data let's see what this comes up with
23:37 it's our right to enjoyment they are
23:39 trying to take away what's that got to
23:42 do with anything what's that in response
23:44 to investor friendly
23:47 agent thank you for all your help wow
23:50 you guys are great awesome yeah the the
23:53 Irregulars in here are just awesome why
23:55 are you on Tik Tok uh uh Elder talk
23:59 go Gen xers [ __ ] the
24:08 youth why am I on Tik Tok why are you on
24:11 Tik Tok you big spiny [ __ ]
24:15 lizard why are you on Tik Tock Denver
24:18 Airport Tik Tock
24:20 ban what about
24:23 it so they just so some committee passed
24:28 some something 50 to one or 50 to zero
24:33 that they're going to you know they're
24:34 going to take it up for a
24:36 vote and then Tick Tock if they pass
24:40 that law then it's got to I assume go to
24:42 the Senate then it's got to get signed
24:44 right it's got to do all that
24:46 [ __ ] and then at that point Tik tok's
24:49 got 163 days something like that to sell
24:53 it and who came out Kevin o came out and
24:57 said I'll [ __ ] buy it so it's not
24:59 going away it's all right to the
25:01 enjoyment they're trying to take away
25:04 this is guys this is
25:06 not this this is not
25:09 about our
25:12 safety this is about Facebook and
25:14 Google's lobbyists trying to get
25:17 Congress to remove a competitor with
25:22 legislation that's what it's
25:27 about yeah yes yes Tik Tok is likely
25:31 using all of our data in nefarious ways
25:34 but you know who did it before them
25:36 Facebook and
25:39 Google they've already stolen all of our
25:42 data it's already
25:44 gone no one's saving
25:47 us they're just trying to let um Google
25:51 and Facebook be the only ones that have
25:54 the data Elon will buy it and ex talk it
25:59 yeah exactly you can make
26:01 money they're just just people trying to
26:04 make money I like I try not to get too
26:06 exercised over this [ __ ] because you
26:09 know lobbyists going to Lobby
26:11 corruption's going to
26:14 corrupt you
26:17 know what is it power corrupts absolute
26:21 power corrupts absolutely that sort of
26:23 [ __ ] that's what it
26:25 is B for B for Texas Senate Kyle is
26:30 right thank you just I'm just trying to
26:33 speak it like it
26:35 is maybe we lose World timeline
26:38 and be in us only Tik Tok that's
26:42 possible we know that ask AI how to
26:45 legally stop them uh I no I don't I my
26:52 my fear of doing
26:54 anything even remotely political in a
26:57 public forum like this is I just I have
26:59 no interest in um political
27:02 grandstanding from from anyone so I I
27:05 don't I don't want to go there um my
27:08 dream would be to take the visual from
27:11 gp4 and stylize it like we can stylize
27:14 images yeah you can probably you can
27:17 probably do that there there's there's
27:20 probably tools to do that Daniel like
27:22 part of the part of the deal with with
27:27 visualizing um data is that there are
27:30 there are graphing applications out
27:32 there that do all sorts of really cool
27:35 data visualization you don't need AI for
27:38 that what will be really cool is
27:42 when you can when
27:45 the when when the data visualization
27:48 tools put a gp4 layer on top of their
27:51 tool where you can just go in and ask it
27:54 an English question and like upload a
27:56 data set ask it to visual it and then
27:59 ask it you know to use to to I don't
28:03 know recommend a style that it's got or
28:05 recommend graphs or things like that
28:07 where what it's actually doing is it's
28:08 using the software that's already been
28:11 written that's really complicated but
28:14 it's it's doing all the switches and
28:16 dials and finding everything for you so
28:19 that'll be there the other thing I would
28:20 say Daniel is go to um futurepedia
28:25 doio and that's a a big giant ass
28:29 directory of AI tools and um just go
28:33 search for graphing you know charting
28:35 and graphing there I'd be surprised if
28:39 there wasn't some kick-ass charting tool
28:41 that's got some ai ai super powers
28:45 behind it can you go live from mighty I
28:48 can the problem with going live from
28:50 mighty is that
28:53 um is that it's we're limited to 20
28:58 hours a month for the whole community so
29:01 I don't I would eat that up in a in a
29:03 week um so I don't I don't want to do
29:08 that I think I think what I'm what I'm
29:10 considering doing is I've got a
29:12 subscription to
29:14 streamyard which would allow me to go
29:17 live horizontal um so I I I think what I
29:22 might be do I what I might do at some
29:23 point is switch to maybe a like a more I
29:28 don't know if it's focused is the right
29:29 word but a
29:30 more something that's easier to teach
29:33 like the kind of [ __ ] I'm doing right
29:35 here where you can you know watch it on
29:37 YouTube or you can watch it on LinkedIn
29:39 so I think what I might do is a hybrid
29:41 kind of approach where I start out on
29:43 Tik Tok and then I'll switch over to
29:45 that thing um and maybe even do that for
29:48 subscribers or something like that so I
29:49 don't I I haven't quite figured it out
29:51 yet I I just need to put in the time to
29:53 figure out the tools and then I can then
29:55 I can figure it out but it's it's it's
29:57 definitely like this is definitely not
29:59 the optimal way to teach people how to
30:02 use [ __ ] on a
30:04 computer
30:06 [Music]
30:11 uh can you give the website again for
30:14 the list of AI tools please yes okay I'm
30:16 going to do you one
30:18 better I am going to show you a
30:22 remarkable site a remarkable Community
30:25 this this site's not remarkable but when
30:28 you go to the salon. that's going to
30:31 take you
30:33 to
30:37 a the salon. a it's going to take you to
30:40 a link
30:42 tree you got to spell it right though
30:45 the
30:48 salon. come on there we go look at that
30:52 people this is a link tree so this is
30:55 not a remarkable site although uh if you
30:57 go to the merch store for the AI salon
30:59 and you buy merch that actually supports
31:01 the AI salon so the AI Salon Community
31:04 click on that and that's going to take
31:06 you to the AI Salon community and you're
31:09 like but Kyle what is the AI Salon
31:11 Community I will tell you I will tell
31:14 you right now it is a community right
31:18 now we're up to 1300 members on the
31:21 website alone probably more than that if
31:23 you look at you know fans of this
31:25 Channel and and um we've got a disc
31:28 Discord and people come to our meetings
31:30 we have bi-weekly
31:32 meetings so this is a group of AI
31:34 adventurers so people that are
31:36 choosing to explore this AI stuff
31:39 together and it's a really remarkable
31:41 group and so um when you get here come
31:46 to this page welcome to the AI Salon
31:48 read about who we are why we do what we
31:50 do how we do it and then check out our
31:52 values the values are are a really
31:55 important part of this community because
31:59 the values that that I'm about to walk
32:01 through are not like what we want this
32:04 community to be it's what this community
32:07 already is so my request to you if
32:10 you're interested in joining a community
32:12 like this great but I want you to check
32:15 out the values and make sure they
32:17 resonate with you investor friendly
32:20 agent we can support Kyle and help with
32:22 the operations cost oh thank you very
32:23 much I appreciate that um curiosity is
32:26 one of the values we want people here
32:28 that are curious not cynical not bitter
32:30 not sitting on the sidelines bitching
32:32 about how awful everything is but like
32:33 hey what's that how does that work well
32:35 why does it do what it does if it's not
32:37 copying and pasting well what's it
32:39 actually doing what's embedding what are
32:41 tokens what's what's how do you how do
32:43 you make money with
32:45 CBT right all of that like that
32:48 insatiable curiosity is what's required
32:50 right now to figure this generative AI
32:52 stuff out and then the next value
32:55 generosity is like if you're learning
32:57 this [ __ ] it share what you're learning
33:01 connect with other people and say oh hey
33:04 look I just tried this and it worked hey
33:06 look I just tried this and it failed
33:09 miserably or if someone says o that's
33:12 really a beautiful picture how did you
33:13 do that well here's what I did and
33:15 here's the thought process and whatever
33:16 it might be and maybe you don't give
33:18 them your exact prompt but you say Hey
33:21 you can go explore it this way or maybe
33:23 I'll make a GPT and I'll put it in there
33:26 right it's a very generous group it's
33:29 it's like an incredibly rare thing in
33:31 online communities they tend to be
33:33 stingy and selfish this one's not
33:35 exploration we want people that are like
33:38 ready to sling the backpack on and just
33:40 [ __ ] head out into the unknown
33:41 because that's what we're all doing
33:43 whether we choose to do it or not and so
33:46 I want people in this community that are
33:48 choosing to be on the
33:52 adventure like like to the to the to the
33:55 trolls Point earlier why are you on Tik
33:57 tock
34:00 cuz why
34:02 not because I'm on an adventure you want
34:04 to come on an adventure come with me and
34:06 come with this
34:09 community collaboration this is also a
34:11 very collaborative group group inclusion
34:14 inclusion is a really interesting one
34:16 right like there there's there's sort of
34:19 you know the inclusion that is is now
34:21 part of the political conversation but
34:23 there's also just
34:25 like if every single
34:29 job is going to
34:31 be upended and redefined over the next 5
34:36 to 10
34:37 years every single
34:40 job that means that every single
34:43 person is going to be impacted by
34:46 Ai and so that means that by definition
34:50 people coming into this community are
34:51 going to be coming from all sorts of
34:53 different backgrounds professional
34:55 backgrounds social backgrounds
34:58 um experience backgrounds we've got
35:01 people in this community with phds and
35:03 Mathematics we've got people in this
35:05 community that are Potters Corey Sandler
35:07 Pottery go f follow Cory Sandler Pottery
35:10 on Tik
35:12 Tok
35:15 um we've got people that have been doing
35:19 this [ __ ] for 30 years this AI stuff and
35:22 we've got people that are like oh my God
35:24 what do I do where do I start I'm in a
35:26 panic and everyone in
35:29 between so
35:31 imagine joining a
35:33 community where you've got all the
35:35 anxiety that you've got as a human being
35:37 like Oh my God what are they going to
35:39 think of me what what if they judge me
35:41 what if you joined a community and that
35:43 didn't happen that all you had to be was
35:45 curious and generous in spirit and this
35:49 community would welcome you with open
35:51 arms that's what this community is it's
35:53 [ __ ]
35:54 remarkable again doesn't really exist in
35:57 America right right now right we've been
35:59 trained you know we talk about why are
36:01 they Banning Tik Tock and you know
36:04 there's there's reasons for that we've
36:05 also been
36:08 trained to get into our one of two
36:13 tribes and wear our uniforms for our
36:16 tribes and if we see someone in in the
36:18 other trib's uniform what are we
36:19 supposed to do hate
36:22 them what if there were a community
36:24 where that wasn't the
36:27 case
36:29 that you didn't talk about that [ __ ]
36:31 that you just came in here and said
36:33 whatat are you up to I I'm up to this
36:34 what are you up to I'm up to
36:37 this which leads nicely to the next
36:40 value of
36:42 empathy and I know the question was hey
36:44 what was that site where all those tools
36:47 were that's that's what you get at Chad
36:50 add at the AI learning lab sometimes you
36:52 got to run down a rabbit hole with me
36:54 I'll get there I will and and The
36:57 Irregular in the mods will will make
36:59 sure that I Circle back to the point
37:02 eventually but
37:04 empathy why is that an important thing
37:06 in this community
37:09 well if you're if you're exploring Ai
37:12 and you're talking about it you're being
37:14 at all public about
37:16 it I assume that you've experienced what
37:19 we've all experienced which is AI sucks
37:22 you're an [ __ ] what are you doing
37:23 with ai ai steals AI robots are going to
37:26 kill us
37:30 there's a lot of fear there's a lot of
37:31 anger there's a lot of resistance
37:34 there's a lot of resentment there's a
37:35 lot
37:41 of there's a lot of
37:46 misunderstanding yeah the salon. AI is
37:48 greater than a community Brandon said
37:50 that's a really good point it really
37:56 is but you know when someone comes in
37:59 and they're like when they come into
38:00 this Channel and they're like AI
38:03 sucks it's it's not a fight to have like
38:07 you
38:08 know understand that different people
38:10 are going to be in different places
38:11 right some people might just be so so
38:14 afraid they're not even willing
38:16 to see it for what it is that's where I
38:19 think most people are or they're just
38:21 dismissive well it's not perfect I'll
38:23 deal with it when it gets there and
38:25 those people are probably going to have
38:26 to deal with it invol
38:29 arily
38:30 like I hate that I hate that for them
38:34 and so understanding where people are
38:37 first and then say ah I understand yeah
38:40 I get that fear I understand why you'd
38:41 be afraid then that makes sense to me
38:44 want to see something cool right and
38:46 then show him something cool and get him
38:48 on the other side of it because once
38:50 people experience what AI is for the
38:53 most
38:54 part you know it it de demonizes it it
38:58 it demystifies it and the last one is
39:01 gratitude it's
39:04 like if you come into a community like
39:07 this without a
39:09 clue and you're welcom with open arms
39:12 and people give you a leg up and support
39:15 you and inspire you and sort of carry
39:18 you on the journey and then you get
39:20 promoted at work or you get to do a big
39:22 presentation or whatever it might be you
39:25 help out a friend with AI where you
39:27 didn't think it was possible before
39:29 acknowledge them and that's what this
39:32 group is too there's a lot of there's a
39:33 lot of acknowledgement
39:35 here I had mid Journey app but now it's
39:38 gone can somebody post a link so I can
39:40 go to it um I I don't think there was a
39:44 mid Journey
39:46 app there was Discord so so you have to
39:51 if you're going to be doing mid Journey
39:52 you have to do mid journey in Discord so
39:54 mayy go look for Discord and then it's
39:56 the mid Journey server within
39:58 there um anyway let me so so so go check
40:03 out the salon if you want to join it
40:05 great it doesn't cost anything by the
40:07 way this sounds like a big sales pitch
40:08 it's not like there's no cost to this so
40:11 as I said before like this is this is
40:13 free to free the
40:16 users
40:18 um the first thing I want you to do
40:20 under the Community section is introduce
40:23 yourself go to the introduce your not
40:25 don't introduce yourself to me you can
40:27 do that that's fine but go to the
40:28 introduce yourself section and introduce
40:31 yourself to the
40:32 community jump in here and and take that
40:35 second value of generosity and be
40:37 generous in how you introduce yourself
40:39 here's who I am here's what I'm into
40:41 here's what I do in life here's here's
40:44 uh where I am with
40:48 AI like take the
40:51 risk I know it's risky I know it's
40:53 [ __ ] terrifying my daughter totally
40:55 hates AI so I've been sending her pretty
40:57 art starring her kitties that's
41:04 awesome yeah
41:06 exactly yeah you you know something that
41:09 could help Silver Fox um is is if you
41:19 can if you can create safe
41:22 zones for her to absolutely not use AI
41:27 but then other zones where she could use
41:29 it so so for example I don't know what
41:31 she does if she's an artist or a writer
41:33 like her safe Zone might be I will never
41:36 use AI for writing you know for creative
41:38 writing or I'll never use it to make art
41:40 okay great yep totally respect that
41:42 definitely don't do it for that but you
41:44 know um when you were trying to put
41:46 together that project plan you know you
41:48 could you could use AI over here for
41:50 project planning right so she's a
41:53 skydiver oh okay well actually damn I
41:56 bet there's all sorts of cool [ __ ] you
41:58 could do with AI with
41:59 skydiving although I wouldn't I wouldn't
42:02 want to plan anything for skydiving with
42:05 AI cuz that's a place where you don't
42:07 want
42:09 hallucinations that's [ __ ] awesome
42:11 she's the skydiver that's super cool all
42:14 right well she she she might be one of
42:18 those professions where she she she
42:20 other than trusting the pilot to make
42:22 sure they're using the right AI she
42:24 might not have to deal with it okay so
42:27 if you join the AI Salon please go
42:29 introduce yourself and then um the the
42:32 tool that I was
42:33 mentioning um I'll give you a whole
42:36 bunch of tools right underneath
42:38 introduce yourself the the third link
42:40 down it says AI Launchpad and
42:42 tools and this is this is a where do I
42:45 begin and sort of uh sort of quick start
42:49 for how to get started with AI and then
42:51 a bunch of tool
42:52 recommendations so the first thing I
42:54 talk about is how to how to
42:59 how to get AI literate and it's I have
43:01 three simple steps the first one is play
43:03 just play with the tools play like it
43:05 doesn't [ __ ] matter because it
43:07 doesn't [ __ ] matter and then the
43:09 second one is solve solve problems solve
43:11 a problem for yourself solve a problem
43:13 from for someone else make a marketing
43:15 plan make a meal plan I I don't know
43:17 write a poem or kids short story doesn't
43:20 matter and then the third one is share
43:22 share what you're learning share it with
43:24 other people share Out Loud live out
43:26 loud share what you're learning on
43:28 LinkedIn on Facebook at dinner parties
43:31 but Kyle that's obnoxious and people
43:33 don't like AI [ __ ] it share it anyway
43:35 make them
43:37 uncomfortable share your
43:40 enthusiasm if you have your first Kevin
43:42 McAllister
43:43 moment you know that one where you're
43:45 just like oh my God I can do that and
43:48 then you have another one and then you
43:49 have another one start talking about
43:51 that
43:52 [ __ ] that's the sole purpose of this
43:56 channel
43:59 I decided almost a year ago now eight
44:02 months nine months
44:04 ago what
44:06 if I just rather than Sim racing rather
44:10 than doing something selfish for myself
44:12 that I really enjoy but really doesn't
44:16 [ __ ] matter to the world what
44:19 if I just went live on Tik Tok so the
44:22 answer to the question why are you on
44:24 Tik Tok because I chose to [ __ ] be on
44:26 Tik Tok
44:29 I said what if every night for the next
44:32 year that's the
44:34 commitment I went live on Tik Tok and
44:36 just talked about what I'm learning what
44:39 would
44:42 happen with like zero
44:50 expectations and like what's happening
44:52 is [ __ ]
44:54 remarkable this AI Salon Community is
44:57 happening this Tik Tok Community the
44:59 Irregulars the people that show up here
45:00 night after night after night after
45:02 night after night are the most generous
45:06 sweet supportive smart
45:11 creative
45:13 driven compassionate people I've ever
45:17 experienced [ __ ] remarkable it's got
45:19 nothing to do with AI it's got nothing
45:20 to do with
45:24 technology so do that it will change
45:27 your life I promise you it will change
45:29 your life but it's uncomfortable and
45:33 then it won't
45:35 be frank needs to cover grock going open
45:38 source I know there's so much to [ __ ]
45:40 talk about isn't there okay so below
45:42 that so so play solve share play solve
45:45 share play solve share you know what's a
45:47 good thing you could do right now go
45:50 play with ideogram solve a problem of
45:53 making an image that says play solve and
45:56 share and and then share it if you
45:59 scroll down all the way toward the
46:00 bottom down here there's a thing called
46:03 Community clubs and there's a thing that
46:04 says a l Irregulars that's our
46:08 club so a thing you could do right now
46:12 that will change your life and will be
46:14 fun for us is go make an image that says
46:16 play solve share and share it in the
46:18 Irregulars channel so it says share cool
46:21 things and then people are already in
46:22 here doing this like what the Irregulars
46:24 do is they just come in here and share
46:26 [ __ ]
46:28 um but it's a place where we can just go
46:30 play all right so go do that and then
46:34 um back to that list so then below that
46:37 is just a giant ass list of tools the
46:39 first one is chat GPT if you can afford
46:42 chat gpts 20 bucks a month I think you
46:45 should absolutely do that and you should
46:47 learn all of these bullet points see
46:51 those bullet points right there below
46:53 chat
46:55 gp4 all of those are things you should
46:59 learn um just at least know what they
47:02 make possible um then there's a bunch of
47:05 different large language models here's a
47:07 pile of image creation tools that list
47:10 is getting crazy long here's a list of
47:13 video generation tools it looks like I
47:14 was going to add something and got add
47:16 and just left a blank bullet there well
47:19 here's music and audio tools here's 3D
47:21 worlds and objects and then uh oh
47:23 there's promising things that are coming
47:26 like LTX Studio looks [ __ ] amazing
47:29 here's people to follow Ethan mullik
47:31 David Shapiro Paul rer and Rachel Woods
47:34 are the four that I that I think are
47:37 worth your time and I think I have damn
47:42 it damn you Tik Tock with the
47:45 frakin moving crap and just
47:49 crashing um janky is as janky does
47:55 um I have very little patience for
47:57 following a lot of people I just I it's
48:00 I get overwhelmed really quick so like
48:01 these are four that I think are really
48:03 good really valuable and then here's
48:05 your
48:06 directories half an hour ago someone
48:09 asked me what was that site of all the
48:12 thousands and thousands of AI tools
48:14 futurepedia
48:17 doo. is one of them and then there's
48:19 another site called there's an AI for
48:21 that I don't know if that second one is
48:23 still kept up to date but it was cool
48:25 and I put it on this list
48:28 so go do that future
48:44 pedia.com
48:52 let's go back
48:55 here embrace the Jank embrace the Jank
49:00 people you think it's going to get any
49:02 better you think it's going to get
49:04 better than
49:06 this it's going to get way
49:11 better it's going to get so much
49:14 better that one of the reasons I say
49:17 embrace the Jank is I
49:20 think it's it's already starting to
49:22 happen I can look back at images from
49:26 2022 and early
49:28 2023 and know that's when they were
49:32 created cuz they were a level of
49:34 janky that you just don't see
49:38 anymore and the I can't get it to spell
49:42 right IDE aams now got it at like
49:48 80% and prior to that it was maybe at 55
49:51 or
49:53 60% and then Just One
49:55 Day image generation tools will not make
49:58 mistakes in
50:01 spelling and we'll look back at this
50:03 time and go hey remember when it spelled
50:07 funny don't worry we'll be here tomorrow
50:10 Kyle there's no hurry I know I know
50:13 there there is there there's there's so
50:14 much to
50:19 cover because I did a uh I built a the
50:23 other thing if you're new here I built a
50:25 GPT yesterday on the
50:28 channel which which put a lot of people
50:30 to sleep I I put some people down the AI
50:34 learning lab can be better than Xanax if
50:36 you need to if you just need
50:37 to you need to to to slip on slip on
50:41 into
50:42 slumberville my my the the dlid tones of
50:46 of yan Kyle Shannon will will knock you
50:49 the [ __ ]
50:51 out but I built a GPT yesterday
50:55 um that is that is it's called tery t a
50:59 r o l o g y
51:04 tery on Thursday
51:07 night
51:09 I I was demoing the new Pi so Pi is a
51:14 chat gbt like app but it's one that you
51:16 can talk
51:17 to the it's spelled
51:20 pi and it's from a company called
51:22 inflection and they launched a new
51:24 version of their model apparently that
51:26 thing is now also as good as chat
51:29 gp4 it's like holy [ __ ] so I went there
51:31 and played with
51:33 it and I asked it if it were G to if it
51:37 were going to
51:39 add 12 new cards to the Tarot deck what
51:44 12 would it add and why or something
51:47 like
51:48 that and it was [ __ ]
51:51 brilliant and it it basically created a
51:53 new minor
51:55 Arcana AR
51:57 Arc I don't know doesn't [ __ ]
52:01 matter it created a new
52:04 suit you know you've got cups and swords
52:08 and Pentacles and whatever the fourth
52:12 one is it added
52:14 orbs and the orbs are the 12 signs of
52:17 the
52:18 zodiac which I thought Ah that's [ __ ]
52:20 brilliant so it's adding this minor
52:21 Arcana and then and then I discovered
52:24 that a minor Arcana has 14 cards in it
52:27 not 12 of I'm like what are you going to
52:29 do about that actually I said that to
52:31 Claude I said what are you going to do
52:33 about that and he said oh it's easy you
52:35 add the North and South lunar
52:39 nodes which are this overarching thing
52:43 to the to the astrology thing I'm like
52:45 great and so I spent the
52:50 weekend taking all of the ideas that
52:53 this thing gave us and put them into a
52:55 document and then I kept refining it
52:57 using Claude cuz one of the things that
52:59 Claude does is is it you could have this
53:01 really long
53:05 conversation and it was just brilliant
53:07 and it it just added descriptions of the
53:10 cards and what they mean and the
53:12 inverted meaning and the regular meaning
53:15 and it did it all in the context of
53:18 deeper astrology and then at some point
53:21 I I I remembered oh yeah in the major
53:25 Arcana the the Astrology symbols are
53:28 already represented like maybe this is
53:30 stupid do we that we have them in there
53:32 twice and so I asked it to to analyze
53:36 the choice that was made and give us
53:38 some Alternatives and it did and then I
53:42 said given all those Alternatives would
53:45 you keep the orb suit as it is with with
53:48 astrology even though it's duplicative
53:51 or would you add something else and it
53:53 said no you should keep it and here's
53:54 why and it gave all these really cool
53:56 answers
53:57 so we basically
53:59 created this new deck it's a it's a 92
54:04 card tarology deck it's a new deck that
54:08 combines astrology and and the tarot and
54:12 I made it into a
54:14 GPT and so um so people have been using
54:17 it and and giving ideas and so one thing
54:20 I thought we could do tonight was go
54:21 improve it um I think it was it silver
54:25 fox or someone I think it was silver fox
54:28 said that when she asked it for a
54:30 reading she gave
54:33 her her birth date the birth time I
54:35 don't you know what the information
54:37 that'll give it it can do more accurate
54:40 reading so we can go build into the
54:43 GPT um that before you give a reading
54:46 make sure you know enough about the
54:48 person to give a give a good reading so
54:50 so I thought that could be
54:53 fun then um Elon Musk yesterday after I
54:57 got off the
54:59 live I saw a little
55:02 little I'm still going to call them
55:06 tweets he calls them posts
55:09 now um I saw a tweet from him that said
55:13 grock his chat GPT competitor is going
55:17 to be open sourced this
55:20 week Sherry D did that that's right it
55:23 was Sher D it was Sherry D that that did
55:25 the uh the uh the birth birth date and
55:29 things like that so yeah so I'm going to
55:30 go find I want to go find that that
55:32 Sherry D post or you can just tell me in
55:35 here what I should add to it but but we
55:36 can update that
55:40 thing
55:43 um so he's going to open source grock
55:47 which I think considering the fact that
55:48 he just sued or or he's suing open AI
55:53 for them not open sourcing their [ __ ]
55:55 and he's got a close sourced model I
55:58 think he pretty much has to do that or
56:00 he looks like you
56:04 know an an ever increasing
56:10 tool um so he's going to do that
56:15 now is he going to open source the new
56:18 fancy version of grock or is he going to
56:20 open source the shitty version that's in
56:22 there right now cuz the one that's in
56:24 there right now is not really usable um
56:27 I assume he's going to open source the
56:29 bigger stuff as is meta by the way so
56:33 they claim they're going to they're
56:35 going
56:36 to open source llama 3 commercially is
56:39 what they've
56:41 said so that
56:43 happened
56:45 then sunno a few days ago the the music
56:49 generation thing launched a new version
56:52 of their thing and I I wanted to play
56:55 with it so I I bought us subscription to
56:57 sunno so I played with that today I made
56:59 I made two
57:00 songs and it's it's pretty good it's got
57:03 It's it's getting better it's getting
57:05 better so we could play with
57:08 that then today I got access
57:12 to Gemini 1.5 actually maybe we should
57:15 go play with that oh look it did that
57:17 [ __ ] thing again God dang
57:22 it tick
57:25 tock my name my name's Tick Tock and uh
57:31 I don't work so good sometimes but hey
57:33 hey let me just move this thing over
57:35 here there there you go I moved fixed it
57:38 oh that's broken could you bring it back
57:40 here and make it smaller oh yeah there
57:41 you go there you go oh fixed
57:45 it the
57:48 [ __ ] Congress should shut this [ __ ]
57:53 down they should shut it down long
57:55 enough to go fix
58:01 it
58:05 a what else happened so there's Gemini
58:08 1.5 so we can go play with
58:11 that um the thing about Gemini 1.5 it's
58:15 got a million token context
58:18 window it's slower than [ __ ] but it's a
58:21 million tokens which if you're new to
58:23 this [ __ ] you're like okay what's that
58:26 mean I mean a million sounds
58:28 good tokens are tast is that like an
58:31 arcade token can I play a video game
58:33 with that it's kind of like that except
58:35 completely
58:36 different um what a million tokens
58:41 means is that it's got a an active
58:45 memory of
58:47 750,000 words or the equivalent
58:53 of and to put that in perspective like
58:57 I forget what's the novel Grapes of
58:59 Wrath something like that one of the
59:01 some famous novel it's about 50,000
59:03 words so like like a decent sized novel
59:06 50,000
59:08 words so Gemini Pro
59:12 1.5 can do 750,000 words so you could
59:16 upload multiple novels you could have it
59:19 write a novel you could have it write
59:20 and edit a novel um so I started that I
59:26 had
59:27 the first thing I had it
59:30 do I like taking my Humanities
59:32 background I have a degree in acting so
59:34 I like taking my Humanities background
59:36 and [ __ ] with these Technologies and
59:38 see if see if they can do any anything
59:40 that I I know they likely haven't been K
59:42 kicked around with so I said
59:46 um write a write a
59:50 scene by William
59:53 Shakespeare write a scene from a
59:55 Shakespearean
59:57 play between MC
1:00:00 Beth and
1:00:03 Hamlet where MC Beth is arguing the
1:00:06 standard model of physics and Hamlet is
1:00:10 arguing the the the quantum the quantum
1:00:15 model and it did it so let's let's go
1:00:18 look at this it's [ __ ] insane so so
1:00:20 now now I'm going to take my million
1:00:22 tokens I'm going to see if I can get it
1:00:24 to write a complete work of of
1:00:27 Shakespeare um with with um Hamlet MCB
1:00:31 Beth as the main characters fighting
1:00:34 over
1:00:35 physics but wait till you see what it
1:00:38 did it's
1:00:41 crazy um where did I put it I put it
1:00:45 right there okay I got to make it bigger
1:00:48 and brighter because I can't see it at
1:00:53 all all right look at all this and what
1:00:58 am I up to so all of this text all of
1:01:01 this text all of this text all of this
1:01:05 text that it wrote and that I prompted
1:01:08 it to write is
1:01:11 4,300 tokens and I have a i out of a
1:01:14 million so like I'm not even I'm not
1:01:18 even scratching the surface of this
1:01:21 being too much
1:01:24 okay so the the new play by the way is
1:01:27 called the uncertain
1:01:29 Crown um but okay so this was the very
1:01:33 first prompt that I gave this thing
1:01:36 write a complete Shakespearean scene
1:01:37 where Hamlet and McBeth are arguing over
1:01:40 the standard model of physics McBeth and
1:01:42 quantum theory
1:01:45 Hamlet um scene a wind a wind swept
1:01:50 Heath and wind swe peath enter Hamlet
1:01:54 and McBeth McBeth
1:01:57 the world is as it seems a tapestry of
1:02:00 cause and consequence each thread
1:02:03 entwined the stars in their courses the
1:02:06 falling leaves all follow laws immutable
1:02:10 defined
1:02:12 Hamlet but are there not more things in
1:02:15 Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in
1:02:17 our philosophy the world is not so
1:02:20 simple nor so clear as to your Newtonian
1:02:23 laws would have it be now couple of
1:02:26 things about
1:02:28 this it's not
1:02:30 horrible it's starting out good but if
1:02:33 you know Shakespeare Shakespeare is
1:02:36 written in iambic
1:02:38 pentameter one of the things that chat
1:02:40 GPT 4 no one caught it earlier a 7
1:02:43 billion 32-bit model utilizes 26 GB of
1:02:48 memory the equivalent 1
1:02:52 bit okay I'll check that out uh Joker
1:02:55 where is is that I'll I'll I'll go check
1:02:58 that thing out U maybe you can put a uh
1:03:02 put a link in irregular chat
1:03:06 maybe um okay so the first thing it
1:03:10 comes back with um chat gp4 when I tried
1:03:14 to get chat gp4 to write in I Amic
1:03:17 pentameter it doesn't do it it writes it
1:03:20 writes poetry and it kind of Rhymes it
1:03:24 but it's not I Amic pentameter
1:03:27 this so the way you count I Amic
1:03:30 pentameter it's it's five sets of of two
1:03:34 pairs short long short long short long
1:03:37 short long badump badump badump badump
1:03:41 badump the world is as it seems a
1:03:46 tapestry of cause and consequence each
1:03:49 thread and twined five the Stars the
1:03:53 stars in their corset the falling leaves
1:03:57 all follows all follow laws immutable
1:04:02 defined
1:04:05 five I Amic pentameter line or four four
1:04:08 I Amic pentameter lines perfect but are
1:04:12 there not more things in Heaven and
1:04:15 Earth it it should actually um collapse
1:04:18 Heaven is is a shakerian thing it does
1:04:21 Heaven and Earth um are dreamt of in
1:04:24 your philosoph
1:04:26 is close wait are dream wait then are
1:04:30 dreamt of in your philosophy yeah that's
1:04:33 correct the world is not so simple nor
1:04:35 so clear as your new as your Newtonian
1:04:40 laws would oh as
1:04:42 your as your Newtonian laws would have
1:04:46 it
1:04:47 be holy [ __ ] it's writing actual I Amic
1:04:52 pentameter it's just [ __ ] nuts and
1:04:55 then it goes on right and I I won't read
1:04:57 it read it all for you but there's this
1:04:59 lovely scene between Hamm and McBeth
1:05:01 talking about the world of physics they
1:05:04 stand for a moment in silence wait
1:05:06 what's Hamlet let's say but
1:05:09 shaping it with
1:05:11 wisdom with a mind that seeks to
1:05:14 understand is not to neglect the deeper
1:05:16 truths that lie Beyond the Veil for
1:05:19 knowledge like a sword can both protect
1:05:22 and conquer the wisest King is he who
1:05:26 wields both reason and the quantum key I
1:05:30 mean it's just it's just good they stand
1:05:33 in silence for a moment each each lost
1:05:37 in thought McBeth perhaps there's truth
1:05:40 in what you say my prince perhaps the
1:05:42 world is more than what it seems but
1:05:45 still I fear the dangers of such
1:05:48 thoughts the Shadows lurking in those
1:05:50 Quantum dreams I mean it's just good
1:05:54 okay they excert pondering the mysteries
1:05:57 of the universe right as they
1:06:00 should and then I said and what would
1:06:02 the play be
1:06:04 called and then it gives me some ideas
1:06:06 and then I say well what would
1:06:07 Shakespeare have himself have named the
1:06:09 work it's difficult to
1:06:13 say his titles are often poetic and
1:06:16 metaphorical quality sometimes referring
1:06:18 to specific lines or themes Within the
1:06:21 play however based on the existing works
1:06:23 and themes explored in this scene
1:06:26 some possibilities the Paradox of
1:06:28 existence the indistinguishable fabric
1:06:30 the shadowy dance the uncertain Crown
1:06:33 well you've got MC Beth and Hamlet the
1:06:36 uncertain Crown is [ __ ] perfect right
1:06:39 this title works on multiple levels
1:06:42 referencing the uncertainty of the
1:06:43 quantum world and the precariousness of
1:06:45 power a theme relevant to both
1:06:49 characters holy [ __ ] that's
1:06:53 good by the way is pate in here
1:06:57 here because I've been [ __ ] all over
1:07:00 Google for like 3 months and P's like
1:07:02 maybe you could say something nice about
1:07:04 it
1:07:06 someday Pate works at
1:07:11 Google I'm saying nice things about your
1:07:13 Google
1:07:15 Pate it'll be
1:07:20 recorded
1:07:25 um
1:07:27 so I said I like the the uncertain Crown
1:07:30 please write an outline for the tragedy
1:07:33 of the UN uncertain Crown include
1:07:35 characters for both McBeth and
1:07:38 Hamlet plays as appropriate and include
1:07:41 major and minor new characters that are
1:07:44 memorable and support the plot and carry
1:07:46 things forward while delivering
1:07:48 entertainment comic relief and
1:07:51 Revelations for the main characters it
1:07:53 should have the complexity and Nuance of
1:07:55 a
1:07:56 as if Shakespeare had written it
1:07:58 himself and then it says the uncertain
1:08:02 Crown a tragedy characters Hamlet McBeth
1:08:06 lady MCB Beth Bano The Witches Rosen
1:08:09 cranon Gilden Stern ponus ailia Horatio
1:08:13 the ghost of King Hamlet new characters
1:08:16 Professor
1:08:17 Elenor Jester
1:08:21 yorck lady Helena a lady in waiting uh
1:08:26 to Lady McBeth um and then it gives us
1:08:29 you know the plot outline the play opens
1:08:31 with Hamlet and Horatio encountering the
1:08:34 ghost of King Hamlet who re reveals the
1:08:37 truth of his murder and demands Revenge
1:08:40 so that it just
1:08:43 stole so I think what we might
1:08:48 do let's see themes uncertainty in the
1:08:52 nature of reality
1:08:54 ambition
1:08:56 write the O opening scene a dark and
1:08:59 stormy
1:09:02 night and it wrote a whole ass scene
1:09:06 here unfuckin believable I'm going to
1:09:10 say okay and and for whoever asked
1:09:12 before I won't type this out I'll I'll
1:09:14 use my little microphone
1:09:18 here on second thought I think your
1:09:22 outline draws on the plots of Hamlet and
1:09:26 McBeth to literally period I'd like you
1:09:29 to create an entirely new
1:09:33 outline that keeps the
1:09:36 characters and their
1:09:39 histories as presented in the original
1:09:42 plays but the outline for this play
1:09:46 should create entirely new scenes that
1:09:48 tell an entirely new
1:09:53 story all right now we'll watch so so
1:09:57 these it this is not
1:10:00 fast
1:10:02 um but the fact that it's writing full
1:10:05 on I just got here hey Pate um I'm I'm
1:10:07 in uh I'm playing with uh Google Gemini
1:10:11 1.5 Pro it's it's really impressive of
1:10:15 course of course you show up and it
1:10:16 gives me an internal
1:10:20 error that's [ __ ]
1:10:24 hilarious uh did I did I lose I lost the
1:10:26 prompt and everything pay did you just
1:10:30 hack me you can't hack the learning
1:10:33 lab God dang it oh that was that was a
1:10:37 good prompt and I lost it um tell your
1:10:40 bug people that their internal error ate
1:10:43 my
1:10:44 prompt on second thought I think that
1:10:48 the outline you just created relies too
1:10:51 heavily on the original
1:10:54 plots of McBeth and Hamlet
1:10:58 period I'd like to retain the characters
1:11:01 and their histories from those plays but
1:11:04 create an entirely new outline of an
1:11:08 entirely new
1:11:11 story period please create a new
1:11:16 outline all right let's try it again
1:11:18 let's see what it does and it takes
1:11:20 about I don't know 30 to 45 seconds to
1:11:24 respond uh
1:11:26 but it's it's it's quite
1:11:30 remarkable oh I wonder I wonder if it
1:11:33 timed out from the last time I used it
1:11:35 that that could be what just happened
1:11:37 actually we've updated our terms of
1:11:39 service to cover our new private preview
1:11:45 offerings private preview offerings may
1:11:48 not be used in production applications
1:11:49 ah
1:11:52 okay oh ask it for the last prompt oh
1:11:54 that's a good idea
1:12:00 [Music]
1:12:01 45 seconds that was all right and then
1:12:04 how long did it yeah it wrote a pretty
1:12:06 good thing here all right the characters
1:12:08 Hamlet MCB Beth lady MCB Beth BW The
1:12:10 Witches new characters okay those are
1:12:12 all right plot outline the play opens
1:12:14 several years after the events of Hamlet
1:12:16 and MCB Beth both Hamlet and MCB Beth
1:12:18 are haunted by their past actions and
1:12:20 struggling to find meaning in their
1:12:21 lives well they're also both dead but
1:12:24 you know that's okay we're we're living
1:12:26 in the quantum World here you know
1:12:28 things can
1:12:29 coexist It's the weird weird world of
1:12:31 quantum mechanics Hamlet still grieving
1:12:34 for his father and ailia is consumed by
1:12:36 existential questions and uncertainty of
1:12:38 the world he seeks solace in philosophy
1:12:40 and science inviting Professor Elenor to
1:12:43 his court to discuss the mysteries of
1:12:45 the universe this is good MC Beth now a
1:12:48 tyrannical King is play plagued by guilt
1:12:50 and
1:12:52 paranoia he feel he fears retribution
1:12:54 for his past crimes and seeks guidance
1:12:56 from The Witches lady McBeth isolated
1:12:59 and consumed by guilt has descended into
1:13:01 madness her presence serves as a Conant
1:13:03 reminder of MC mcbeth's bloody past and
1:13:06 the price of
1:13:07 ambition act two Hamlet inspired by
1:13:10 elsen or his teachings begins to see the
1:13:12 world in a new light MC Beth driven by
1:13:14 The Witch's prophecies becomes
1:13:17 increasing tyrannic increasingly
1:13:19 tyranical and isolated lady Helena W
1:13:22 witnessing the suffering of the people
1:13:24 she secretly AIDS the wait begins to
1:13:27 question her loyalty to the crown she
1:13:29 secretly AIDS the
1:13:31 rebels nice act three Hamlet's Newfound
1:13:35 understanding leads him to question his
1:13:37 own past actions and nature of Revenge
1:13:39 he embarks on a journey of
1:13:42 self-discovery Hamlet Hamlet goes to
1:13:47 therapy mcbeth's par
1:13:50 paranoia and tyranny reach New
1:13:53 Heights he's clinging to power lady MC
1:13:57 Beth gets more crazy culminating in a
1:14:00 tragic end okay that serves as a
1:14:03 catalyst for MC Beth's final downfall
1:14:06 Hamlet on his journey of
1:14:08 self-discovery encounters various
1:14:10 characters oh so Hamlet kind of goes on
1:14:13 a buddy like a buddy film a journey of
1:14:17 Discovery he also Witnesses the
1:14:20 suffering caused by MC Beth's tyranny
1:14:23 the Rebellion against MC Beth reaches
1:14:24 its climax
1:14:27 Act five Hamlet having reconciled his
1:14:30 past returns to Elenor to confront the
1:14:33 challenges the Wai him the play ends on
1:14:35 a sense of hope and renewal as the
1:14:37 characters move forward to a greater
1:14:39 understanding of themselves okay so I'm
1:14:40 going to say
1:14:42 um that's
1:14:46 a good broad outline and I like the
1:14:52 story
1:14:54 um
1:14:56 please write a very detailed
1:15:03 outline I'll just leave it at
1:15:07 that crazy ca ca it's this this
1:15:13 is I mean this is the kind of thing that
1:15:17 you know I would consider this something
1:15:19 pretty nonsensical
1:15:22 that most llms when I try to push them
1:15:25 to do [ __ ] like this they just fall
1:15:28 apart and especially when it's writing
1:15:30 long stuff like this the the when they
1:15:33 have short context Windows like you
1:15:34 really can't just have a long
1:15:36 conversation with something like
1:15:38 this um so this is doing two things it's
1:15:41 because it's got such an insanely long
1:15:43 context window like I'm only up
1:15:46 to um
1:15:49 7500 tokens out of a
1:15:52 million right so I could I I could I
1:15:57 think I'm I'm
1:15:59 confident I could write a
1:16:02 complete Shakespearean
1:16:07 play in an hour or
1:16:09 [Laughter]
1:16:19 two I'm G to ask it
1:16:22 something on average
1:16:29 do the
1:16:32 number of
1:16:35 scenes in your outline match the number
1:16:40 of
1:16:41 scenes
1:16:44 in
1:16:47 Shakespeare's known
1:16:50 works are these in
1:16:54 line
1:16:57 with Hamlet and McBeth for
1:17:08 example oh you know what else happened
1:17:11 today I knew there was something I was
1:17:13 forgetting welcome to chat ad I'm Kyle
1:17:15 Shannon I'll be your
1:17:17 guide
1:17:19 um Mid
1:17:21 Journey announced consistent characters
1:17:24 today
1:17:28 so there's that Shakespeare plays
1:17:31 typically had a 5A structure with each
1:17:34 Act containing several scenes my outline
1:17:37 follows this structure where each Act
1:17:39 focuses of course the actual
1:17:44 number on
1:17:47 average the scenes Falls between 15 and
1:17:50 30 which aligns with the number of
1:17:52 scenes in my outline let's actually go
1:17:55 find that out if that's
1:17:57 true I think that is I think that's
1:18:00 right so act one has five so there's
1:18:03 five
1:18:06 10
1:18:08 15
1:18:12 19
1:18:14 20
1:18:18 22 Hamlet has 20 MC Beth has 28 the
1:18:22 uncertain Crown the uncertain crown I
1:18:25 [ __ ] love that
1:18:27 title has 23 scenes it's important to
1:18:30 note that the scene divisions can vary
1:18:32 depending on the addition interpretation
1:18:33 of the
1:18:42 play
1:18:45 um okay great now I'd like an outline
1:18:52 where each scene
1:19:01 description is followed
1:19:05 by a character list
1:19:10 and
1:19:12 what
1:19:14 each
1:19:16 character does in the
1:19:21 scene um
1:19:23 sort character
1:19:26 by order of
1:19:29 appearance in each
1:19:32 scene and the reason I'm doing that I'm
1:19:34 I'm trying to see if it's going to add
1:19:36 in like minor characters or if it's just
1:19:38 going to if if everything's going to be
1:19:40 really simple if if there's going to be
1:19:41 any
1:19:42 complicated kind of Court scenes or
1:19:45 things like
1:19:47 that
1:19:51 um you will see this published by Kyle
1:19:54 next week seriously Tams you know what
1:19:57 I there's there's something there's
1:20:00 something actually super intriguing
1:20:03 about you know we were talking about
1:20:05 this with the with the um the tery deck
1:20:09 yesterday when when we were
1:20:11 building oh and what they wear that's a
1:20:13 good idea um we were talking about this
1:20:15 with the triology deck
1:20:17 yesterday where someone said oh are you
1:20:20 going to are you going to publ you know
1:20:21 are you going to publish this as the
1:20:23 world world's first AI Terror deck or
1:20:25 something like that and I'm like no it's
1:20:29 not an AI Tarot deck like AI has nothing
1:20:32 to do with the Tarot deck right AI has
1:20:35 nothing to do with this play like this
1:20:37 is other than the fact that you
1:20:40 know I can take an idea like MC Beth and
1:20:45 Hamlet
1:20:46 um talking about standard physics or
1:20:50 quantum
1:20:52 theory and you know in the olden timey
1:20:56 world that idea would be like maybe over
1:21:01 a beer at an Afterparty with a theater
1:21:03 troop you might bring that up but you
1:21:05 would likely never really pursue that
1:21:08 right cuz writing a whole [ __ ] ass
1:21:10 Shakespeare play is exhausting and long
1:21:13 but what I can do here is I can serve as
1:21:16 like story strategist and have the AI do
1:21:20 the work and I can go look at it and
1:21:22 read it and look at and see if it's any
1:21:24 good and do the kind of stuff I'm doing
1:21:26 now
1:21:28 right and it's
1:21:30 it's AI is just the
1:21:33 tool but the other tool is me and and me
1:21:36 deciding what's you
1:21:38 know the regulars on Mighty Network oh
1:21:40 maybe is there good stuff going on there
1:21:43 Corey let's go look shall
1:21:48 we is pate
1:21:50 here at least once a
1:21:53 night it's true it's true well
1:21:56 especially as Google gets their [ __ ]
1:21:58 together like I don't want P to just
1:22:00 think I'm just always hating on Google
1:22:02 I'm just hating on Google when their
1:22:04 [ __ ]
1:22:07 sucks oh nice the uncertain Crown oh
1:22:11 that's
1:22:12 beautiful that's really cool single
1:22:16 Crown in the middle that's that like
1:22:18 that's that's it isn't
1:22:20 it I think there's the cover for the
1:22:22 book
1:22:24 Corey play solve Shar
1:22:31 nice he's sitting in the
1:22:34 air janky is as janky
1:22:38 does oh that's
1:22:40 cool nice was that from Silver Fox oh
1:22:44 this from Corey
1:22:45 nice play solve share very cute nice
1:22:51 Mimi was a joker that's Tim llama coft
1:22:54 [Laughter]
1:23:00 awesome um all right let's go back to
1:23:02 this
1:23:05 thing
1:23:18 characters yeah these are these are a
1:23:20 little
1:23:23 simple
1:23:38 um
1:23:40 the
1:23:42 scenes seem a
1:23:45 little simple in all
1:23:49 cases are
1:23:51 there
1:23:53 opportunities for for
1:23:56 [Music]
1:23:58 larger character
1:24:01 counts like Royal
1:24:05 courts
1:24:07 courts
1:24:09 [Music]
1:24:10 or taverns
1:24:16 Etc it would be nice to
1:24:21 meet some memorable
1:24:27 [Music]
1:24:29 minor characters
1:24:33 Care ectors
1:24:35 on
1:24:37 Hamlet's
1:24:39 Journey all right all right we won't do
1:24:42 this much longer here but but you get
1:24:44 the idea
1:24:48 so the other thing that I haven't played
1:24:50 with here so up up
1:24:53 here image video file folder you can
1:24:58 insert [ __ ] into this into
1:25:02 this um
1:25:06 prompt mysterious
1:25:22 wonderer yeah great so so it figur
1:25:24 figured out which of the scenes would be
1:25:27 good to expand to have larger
1:25:30 characters it recommended which ones so
1:25:34 let's see expand the scene instead of a
1:25:35 series of one-on-one encounters Ham's
1:25:38 Hamlet's Journey could be depicted
1:25:40 through a montage of scenes in different
1:25:43 locations including bustling
1:25:45 marketplaces Lively taverns and Serene
1:25:48 natural landscapes this would provide a
1:25:50 richer and more varied backdrop for
1:25:52 Hamlet self-discovery a traveling Bard a
1:25:56 village Elder a mysterious
1:25:58 Wanderer yeah that's great so I'm going
1:26:01 to go
1:26:06 terrific Now give me a complete outline
1:26:11 with the suggested
1:26:18 improvements
1:26:20 detailed
1:26:22 descriptions of the
1:26:26 scenes and plot
1:26:29 points as well as
1:26:32 the
1:26:34 [Music]
1:26:36 character
1:26:37 um
1:26:39 descriptions for
1:26:42 each
1:26:45 scene um
1:26:48 add um costume notes for what the
1:26:54 character
1:26:55 s are
1:26:58 wearing
1:27:00 that is era
1:27:06 appropriate boom all right so now we'll
1:27:09 have a now we'll have a complete thing
1:27:10 Kyle save that image from mighty
1:27:13 networks and see what happens if you
1:27:15 install it into this oh that's a great
1:27:16 idea Corey okay great idea so
1:27:21 Corey saying what
1:27:23 if save this image
1:27:26 as
1:27:33 Corey
1:27:36 [Music]
1:27:37 uncertain
1:27:39 crowns
1:27:41 [Music]
1:27:47 Thrones we'll go back here all right
1:27:50 it's still working and then make a play
1:27:53 bill
1:27:55 oh yeah because this can this can make
1:27:57 images too
1:28:01 right H yeah should be able
1:28:22 to 75 seconds
1:28:27 up to 80 seconds so I asked it to write
1:28:30 something pretty complicated so it's
1:28:33 it's looking
1:28:36 like we'll see we'll see if it if it
1:28:38 actually craps out
1:28:40 here but it's looking like if you ask it
1:28:43 to write something long it's going to
1:28:44 write you something long and it's going
1:28:46 to take longer that makes
1:28:50 sense cuz I asked it for detailed scenes
1:28:54 character accounts costume
1:29:06 descriptions yeah I don't think that um
1:29:10 I don't think that Gemini does text well
1:29:13 but let's we'll
1:29:15 see the uncertain Crown it's such a good
1:29:19 title and what would be what would be
1:29:21 fun is to publish this as as an
1:29:23 Undiscovered
1:29:25 you know Shakespearean work not not to
1:29:28 get it over on someone but but to just
1:29:30 you know do it as a playful kind of just
1:29:33 put it out in the
1:29:39 world I have a feeling this thing just
1:29:42 pooped its
1:29:49 pants oh no it did not is it long
1:29:55 long
1:30:00 yeah this is really good holy [ __ ] holy
1:30:04 [ __ ] balls
1:30:09 people the uncertain Crown a detailed
1:30:12 outline with improved scenes and
1:30:14 costumes scene one elsener
1:30:17 Castle Hamlet's Chambers evening
1:30:20 characters Hamlet dressed in a somber
1:30:23 yet Regal black dublet
1:30:24 and hose with a gold chain of office
1:30:28 around his neck Horatio Hamlet's adviser
1:30:30 and confident attired in simple Brown
1:30:33 dublet and hose befitting his scholarly
1:30:36 slat status hamlet confides in confides
1:30:40 in
1:30:42 htio you know what now that I have this
1:30:44 scene like this I
1:30:46 bet [ __ ] it we should just do
1:30:51 it
1:30:53 watch we're going to have to come back
1:30:55 to this watch this prompt watch this
1:30:58 [ __ ] prompt people okay so so
1:31:07 again one of the misconceptions about AI
1:31:11 from people that don't play with it is
1:31:13 that it's like you push a button and it
1:31:15 squirts out of
1:31:17 play and that's like man that's
1:31:22 stupid oh wait before I do okay okay I'm
1:31:25 going to I'm going to do something here
1:31:27 but wait before I do it I want to do I
1:31:28 want to do Corey's experiment let's
1:31:32 hold so here's here's what I'm going to
1:31:34 do so now that we've done this work now
1:31:36 that I've got this detailed
1:31:38 outline I'm G to put the prompt in here
1:31:42 write the
1:31:45 play I like Gemini because it's detailed
1:31:48 these others love to just not explain
1:31:52 things yeah well so so Pate the thing
1:31:56 that I'm really digging about this is I
1:32:00 think the Gemini stuff was always good
1:32:02 at sort of more technical kind of things
1:32:06 but it absolutely fell on its face when
1:32:08 you tried to get it to do anything
1:32:09 resembling writing like you know
1:32:11 creative
1:32:13 writing this
1:32:14 is in a whole another category so if
1:32:18 this can combine that level of
1:32:20 detail that's crazy okay but here's what
1:32:23 we're going to do I'm going to upload an
1:32:29 image
1:32:38 upload oh God damn it this [ __ ] chat
1:32:43 GPT with their stupid aif format
1:32:49 avif the the webp thing it is uh
1:32:54 unbelievable oh wait I know how I can
1:32:56 fix this I can just go download it as a
1:32:58 uh this is so [ __ ] maddening oh wait
1:33:02 it wasn't there it was
1:33:04 here oh no I got to I got to change a
1:33:11 c how is it possible we've got file
1:33:14 formats that computers can't [ __ ]
1:33:17 understand at this point is it really
1:33:19 that important to use whatever the [ __ ]
1:33:21 new format this is and if it's that
1:33:23 important other people support it what
1:33:26 is
1:33:30 happening he seems very upset about the
1:33:32 file format thing I didn't know that was
1:33:34 a an
1:33:38 issue I'm trying to educate the people
1:33:41 here and your stupid file formats are
1:33:44 making me look like a dumb
1:33:46 dumb all
1:33:48 right there we go there's our
1:33:53 picture
1:33:55 okay that's
1:34:03 uploaded
1:34:09 okay I'd like to
1:34:13 use this
1:34:19 image for a
1:34:23 poster
1:34:25 for the
1:34:27 play please
1:34:30 create a
1:34:35 poster with the title in
1:34:40 bold
1:34:44 unsettling
1:34:52 typography uh at at the top of the
1:34:56 poster
1:35:00 and
1:35:02 um a
1:35:06 compelling tagline of the
1:35:10 play that will make
1:35:17 it a mustsee
1:35:22 experience well
1:35:24 all right let's see let's all right pay
1:35:28 the people in chat are way worse I don't
1:35:29 know what's going on there okay let's
1:35:32 see what this thing can do
1:35:34 with actually using an image I wonder if
1:35:37 it'll do any any sort of overlaying on
1:35:39 this image or if it'll understand it and
1:35:42 recreate it either would be
1:35:50 fine okay it described
1:35:53 it can you create this
1:36:01 poster unsettling typography that's a
1:36:04 thing absolutely you have like a shaky
1:36:07 font like
1:36:08 psycho you've got like
1:36:10 a sure here's the poster F Play Image
1:36:14 hope you like it um so I'm guessing this
1:36:16 doesn't have access
1:36:18 to image Generation all
1:36:22 right I'm just going to say right
1:36:24 the
1:36:29 play this is
1:36:34 crazy right to
1:36:38 play all right and I have a feeling
1:36:40 we're going to have to come back right
1:36:42 because this should if it took it what
1:36:44 was it 180 seconds to write that
1:36:47 outline this is probably a 10-minute
1:36:51 prompt but oh so so this the point I was
1:36:54 making here here let me let me flip over
1:36:57 here I I'll just leave that running in
1:36:59 the background there the point I was
1:37:01 making
1:37:02 about AI doesn't just write
1:37:06 [ __ ] we are going to get to a point
1:37:09 where AI can just write [ __ ] right where
1:37:12 once once these AI tools have
1:37:16 reasoning a lot of the stuff that I just
1:37:18 did as a human okay here's this shitty
1:37:22 idea oh that's an interesting thing now
1:37:24 let's massage this now let's create an
1:37:26 outline oh that outline is too much like
1:37:28 the originals right you can see your
1:37:31 prompt count going up I know isn't that
1:37:33 cool yeah I'm up to 16,000 out of a
1:37:36 million so so like the fact that I can
1:37:38 track my prompt count is actually really
1:37:40 cool because I know that like that would
1:37:43 be something good for chat gbt to have
1:37:47 that as you're as you're blowing the top
1:37:49 of your conversation out of the context
1:37:51 window that you actually know that
1:37:53 that's happening
1:37:55 Kyle you might break Gemini
1:37:58 again um so so in the future these
1:38:01 things are going to get to the point
1:38:03 where they can do all of this work that
1:38:04 I just did but for right now and I and I
1:38:07 think even in the future you can choose
1:38:09 to work like
1:38:11 this it's just a different way of
1:38:14 working it's not better it's not the AI
1:38:17 doing this it's just that I could take
1:38:21 this same
1:38:22 idea and spend the next three months of
1:38:24 my life researching Hamlet researching
1:38:28 McBeth researching anything that's ever
1:38:31 been written about
1:38:32 it
1:38:34 researching the standard physics model
1:38:37 researching quantum theory taking the
1:38:40 concepts of those and trying to figure
1:38:44 out how Hamlet and MCB Beth would relate
1:38:46 to those models and how they might work
1:38:48 together like like the the
1:38:52 dramaturgy the the research just to be
1:38:55 able to do an
1:38:58 outline is probably a month of my
1:39:02 life for a stupid shitty
1:39:05 idea so I'm never going to do that this
1:39:08 idea will have never seen the light of
1:39:11 day now with AI I can have a brain fart
1:39:14 on a Tik Tok live throw some ideas at
1:39:18 this thing because it's got a million
1:39:19 token context window start to go hm
1:39:28 what if this were not just a scene but
1:39:29 it were a whole play what would that
1:39:31 look like what would be some titles of
1:39:33 it
1:39:37 like and it's educating
1:39:42 me about what's
1:39:52 possible
1:39:58 it says it wrote the whole
1:40:03 play oh the scenes are really
1:40:07 short yeah it didn't write the whole
1:40:22 play
1:40:25 it wrote like a it wrote like a little
1:40:26 five act one
1:40:28 act all right so I think so to do this
1:40:33 right it didn't write it in I Amic
1:40:38 pentameter okay so I'm going to tell
1:40:42 it okay that was a
1:40:47 failure the play needs to be in I am I
1:40:54 ambic
1:40:57 pentameter um and
1:41:02 follow
1:41:08 Shakespeare's
1:41:09 traditions of writing I don't even know
1:41:12 if that's a thing but that's okay of
1:41:14 writing
1:41:15 um let's go scene by
1:41:20 scene
1:41:22 please WR scene
1:41:28 one
1:41:39 um see what's going to end up happening
1:41:41 is this I
1:41:44 think whether or not AI wrote it or not
1:41:47 like when when you're dealing with stuff
1:41:48 like this I think there are places where
1:41:50 it's like if AI created it it's
1:41:53 important for us to know that right if
1:41:55 we're talking about news
1:41:58 stories and we and we're talking about
1:42:01 accuracy um we're going to want some
1:42:04 clarity on that I think there's a whole
1:42:07 lot of writing where it doesn't [ __ ]
1:42:09 matter what tool you
1:42:11 used you're educating each other aren't
1:42:13 you yeah like like it's educating me
1:42:16 about what's possible and it's kind of
1:42:18 educating
1:42:20 me
1:42:22 about um
1:42:25 yeah like how these characters would
1:42:26 interact with each
1:42:31 other okay that seems a little
1:42:40 short my Lord what troubles you this
1:42:42 night your brow is
1:42:44 furrowed the weight of the world htio
1:42:46 the weight of uncertainty doubt and fear
1:42:48 I've spent these years in contemplation
1:42:52 of in contemp deep yet I find myself a
1:42:55 drift unsure
1:42:57 but but you are King my Lord with power
1:43:00 to shape your destiny to bring order to
1:43:04 the chaos order what is order order what
1:43:08 is order in a
1:43:12 world one of the things that Shakespeare
1:43:15 does which is really
1:43:17 cool
1:43:22 is some lines will not be an iambic
1:43:25 pentameter they'll be like six syllables
1:43:28 or that one was
1:43:30 nine and it and it shows where the
1:43:32 character is unsettled so if it's if
1:43:35 it's just traditional I Amic pentameter
1:43:37 especially if the syllables fall in the
1:43:39 appropriate words they're just going and
1:43:42 then you'll get to a line where it'll
1:43:44 break the Rhythm and that's that's a
1:43:46 clue to the
1:43:47 actor this something's
1:43:52 up
1:44:02 this seems
1:44:06 short what would round it
1:44:11 out I'm purposefully kind of giving this
1:44:14 thing prompts that
1:44:18 normally if large language models suck
1:44:21 the kinds of prompts I'm giving this
1:44:23 they usually fall apart now we have chat
1:44:26 GPT
1:44:28 4 Claude 3 Opus Gemini 1.5 we also have
1:44:32 Corey um inflection
1:44:35 2.5 the new Pi is in the in the
1:44:39 neighborhood of gp4 as well and then
1:44:43 we're going to have and then we're going
1:44:44 to have wait yeah exactly wait what what
1:44:48 to choose if we can only choose if we
1:44:50 can only afford one
1:44:52 well
1:44:59 yeah claud's not free right now and you
1:45:01 only get five shots at Opus even with
1:45:04 the paid
1:45:11 version I where I put my money Cory
1:45:15 right now until further notice is chat
1:45:17 GPT
1:45:21 absolutely but
1:45:25 you know this thing being a million
1:45:31 tokens there's absolutely reasons you'd
1:45:34 use this we should go we should go do
1:45:35 something else here hang
1:45:37 on to round out okay so okay it
1:45:41 lengthened it but okay um now it's
1:45:47 not I
1:45:49 Amic pentameter anymore how can
1:45:56 we fix things so you
1:46:00 don't keep making this
1:46:05 mistake we should go try something else
1:46:08 here
1:46:09 too we can upload video to this
1:46:15 thing there's not enough time to go o
1:46:18 over this [ __ ] people I want to show
1:46:21 other stuff we can't
1:46:24 Brooklyn in the
1:46:27 house it connects to my Gmail Etc if I'm
1:46:30 in general and I'd act as a personal
1:46:36 assistant you're right I apologize for
1:46:38 the mistake it can be difficult to
1:46:40 maintain perfect damic pentameter while
1:46:42 also ensuring the dialogue flows
1:46:44 naturally and conveys the intended
1:46:48 meaning that sounds Mighty
1:46:51 humanlike it can be difficult to
1:46:54 maintain perfect I Amic pentameter while
1:46:57 also ensuring the dialogue flows
1:46:59 naturally and conveys the intended
1:47:00 meaning what that's saying to me is
1:47:04 that it's aware that those are two
1:47:07 separate
1:47:08 tasks and it's basically saying oops I
1:47:11 just focused on one of those tasks I
1:47:13 actually have to focus on both of
1:47:16 them Hamlet sighing my father's ghost
1:47:19 still haunts my dreams his voice cries
1:47:21 out for vengeance yet I pause
1:47:24 is this the path to peace or will it
1:47:25 lead to further Bloodshed to my demise
1:47:29 Horatio your father's death a tragedy
1:47:31 most foul and claudius's guilt a truth
1:47:35 that cannot hide but Vengeance like a
1:47:38 serpent coils and weights to strike and
1:47:43 poison Hamlet looks at horatia wait with
1:47:46 a new found sense of
1:47:51 hope thank you ratio your words have G
1:47:56 wait thank you htio your words have
1:48:02 given me much to
1:48:05 consider as I chart my course he totally
1:48:09 breaks zamic pentameter for the last
1:48:11 line
1:48:13 wild it doesn't seem to
1:48:19 get I don't think I can just have it
1:48:21 right entire scenes I think got to break
1:48:23 a scene down
1:48:25 into beats major
1:48:28 beats and then have it write the
1:48:31 Beats it's doable anyway let's let's
1:48:34 create a new prompt here that's really
1:48:35 cool create
1:48:40 new wow this is cool create a new so by
1:48:44 the way the tool that I'm in is Google
1:48:46 AI Studio the model oh wait
1:48:49 sorry the tool that I'm in is um
1:48:54 Google AI Studio I just said create a
1:48:57 new prompt I can do a chat prompt a free
1:48:59 form prompt and a structured prompt so
1:49:01 these are programming things I'm in
1:49:03 Gemini 1.5 Pro it's got a temperature
1:49:07 slider which they've copied um oh not
1:49:11 available for this model okay so you
1:49:12 can't turn it on for that but it it
1:49:14 looks like it's a scale of 1 to two or 0
1:49:16 to
1:49:17 two you can add a stop
1:49:19 sequence which is a developer thing if
1:49:23 you want to break the the answer
1:49:26 basically
1:49:28 um my library the uncertain Crown okay
1:49:31 so we're going to create a new new tuned
1:49:34 model you can also tune your own model
1:49:37 so we're going to do a chat
1:49:39 prompt you have unsaved changes your
1:49:42 changes will be lost all right how do I
1:49:48 save save okay
1:49:51 save but that's bad Pate it should be
1:49:56 automatically saving I shouldn't have to
1:49:58 [ __ ] save
1:50:00 that all right chat
1:50:02 prompt but it is a developer back in so
1:50:05 that makes sense is a million tokens the
1:50:07 same as saying a million characters no
1:50:09 it's not quite that it's think of it
1:50:11 like this it's about
1:50:14 34 the number of tokens is how many
1:50:17 words you have on average tokens are
1:50:20 some combination of parts of words punct
1:50:23 ation and
1:50:24 spaces so if you just take as a rule of
1:50:27 thumb 75% of the token count is about
1:50:31 how many words you have not a not um not
1:50:36 a perfect measure because different
1:50:39 different uh kinds of text can have
1:50:41 different token counts per word but just
1:50:43 as a rule of thumb so a million tokens
1:50:47 will be about
1:50:48 750,000
1:50:51 words the king hasn't yet ask ask you to
1:50:54 leave your wife so it's got that going
1:50:56 for it yeah
1:50:58 exactly okay so now oh so now I
1:51:03 can't it was funny
1:51:06 with um oh here we go upload a video all
1:51:10 right so
1:51:12 let's let me let me go see what I've got
1:51:18 um take it up with the VP of magic I'm
1:51:21 not doing a thing
1:51:26 um let's see
1:51:34 MP4 okay those are too
1:51:52 long
1:52:05 we're
1:52:10 here uhhuh
1:52:13 there's worldmind school started off as
1:52:16 an idea and something that I wanted for
1:52:18 my
1:52:19 son all right let's grab that
1:52:24 World mind outdoor school okay so we're
1:52:28 going to go back here we're going to go
1:52:32 video wait let me go back here let me
1:52:35 open
1:52:36 this and then we're going to
1:52:51 go
1:52:56 what I'm trying to find is
1:53:00 something let's
1:53:06 see all right when the kids wearing a
1:53:09 yellow
1:53:11 jacket what what does the
1:53:14 patch uh all right so so we sort of know
1:53:18 a little bit about that video now so
1:53:20 let's grab the video
1:53:26 browse champy you got to go
1:53:28 P World mind are you just
1:53:39 bored okay we're uploading a 2-minute
1:53:44 video apparently this works with um
1:53:51 a hour long video like a million tokens
1:53:54 you can upload an hourong video now now
1:53:56 here's the thing wait does it count only
1:53:59 the words you type or the answer also
1:54:01 it's
1:54:02 both it's both and and
1:54:06 the the input I forget how it works I
1:54:09 think the input is cheaper than the
1:54:11 output one of them is cheaper I think
1:54:13 prompts are cheaper than
1:54:15 [Laughter]
1:54:17 answers
1:54:21 um need to break but fomo I know okay so
1:54:25 there's that
1:54:27 video so we're going to
1:54:32 say what is the
1:54:36 person wait what
1:54:40 does what does the
1:54:44 patch on the
1:54:47 person's jacket say when the kid in the
1:54:55 yellow
1:54:57 jacket is on
1:55:00 screen
1:55:02 with
1:55:17 her pre-fill is way
1:55:20 cheaper which is the processing of your
1:55:23 input yeah that's
1:55:24 right how well do the llms create their
1:55:27 own prompts is it better if you
1:55:29 encourage a Q&A yeah in general you can
1:55:32 pre oh you can prefill in parallel
1:55:34 that's
1:55:36 cool world mind nature immersion school
1:55:39 holy [ __ ] wait let's go
1:55:42 look damn okay
1:55:46 people can I make this bigger how do I
1:55:48 make this bigger anyway that that says
1:55:53 worldmind nature immersion
1:55:57 school holy
1:56:00 [ __ ] um let me try another thing because
1:56:02 there's something I'm working on right
1:56:05 now
1:56:07 um
1:56:10 create a chap
1:56:15 terization
1:56:17 of this
1:56:21 video
1:56:27 um I
1:56:30 want each chapter to
1:56:38 include the summary of the
1:56:47 chapter
1:56:51 any label
1:56:54 or on screen
1:56:59 text
1:57:01 and the
1:57:03 people and and
1:57:06 and
1:57:07 descriptions of what is
1:57:11 happening
1:57:14 visually in that
1:57:17 chapter
1:57:21 include as much detail as
1:57:25 possible and um format using
1:57:31 markdown to make it easier to
1:57:38 read let's see how it does here I see
1:57:41 this being used by law enforcement to
1:57:43 analyze CCTV
1:57:47 yep Tams it just gets a little worse
1:57:49 every chat has the same window it's just
1:57:52 it's usually
1:57:54 smaller yeah I made I made the text here
1:57:57 really big so you guys could see it a
1:57:59 little
1:58:01 better
1:58:04 see is this Claud no this is Gemini 1.5
1:58:08 Pro in Google AI studio so this is the
1:58:11 equivalent of um the chat GPT play what
1:58:16 they called The Playground um which is
1:58:20 which is uh
1:58:23 hang
1:58:28 on summary chapter one introduction to
1:58:32 the world mind Nature School chapter
1:58:34 introduces World mind nature immersion
1:58:36 school a preschool that takes place
1:58:38 entirely Outdoors visual on screen none
1:58:42 visuals children playing in rocks in a
1:58:44 park children playing on a and coloring
1:58:47 on a blanket a child looking through a
1:58:49 magnifying
1:58:51 glass holy [ __ ]
1:58:53 summary this chapter features an
1:58:55 interview with Megan Patterson the
1:58:57 founder and executive director onscreen
1:58:59 text staff Megan Peters Patterson
1:59:03 founder worldmind visuals Megan
1:59:06 Patterson speaking to the camera amazing
1:59:09 a day at worldmind summary the chapter
1:59:11 follows a group of
1:59:12 children visuals this is this is
1:59:20 staggering staggering
1:59:23 staggering I like there's so much more
1:59:27 it can
1:59:28 do like I haven't even started I haven't
1:59:31 even started got to go lay down I know
1:59:34 me too we got to I got to get out of
1:59:35 here it's
1:59:39 like we we got this this week's there's
1:59:43 going to be a lot this
1:59:46 week I wouldn't be surprised if open AI
1:59:49 announces something this week launches
1:59:52 something reveal something I wouldn't be
1:59:54 surprised I mean Elon Musk
1:59:59 said grocka is going to be open sourced
2:00:01 I don't know that there's a ton for us
2:00:02 to do there I want to play with the mid
2:00:05 Journey character consistency thing
2:00:08 that's huge by the way so if you if
2:00:11 you're a mid Journey geek go to their
2:00:13 Discord and look at announcements and
2:00:16 they talk about the new character
2:00:18 consistency tools go look at that [ __ ]
2:00:21 you still have 90 7,000 tokens left yeah
2:00:24 oh yeah this two-minute video only took
2:00:26 up 355,000
2:00:32 tokens this is
2:00:44 staggering I'm using Gemini already
2:00:47 every day an email thank you letter got
2:00:50 hired that's great to mood that's
2:00:53 awesome all right I'm going to I'm going
2:00:55 to start start winding it down here
2:01:01 okay if you're into Ai and you want to
2:01:06 be if you want to hang out with other
2:01:09 people that are into it
2:01:12 too and they're not judging you they're
2:01:15 like Curious and interesting you should
2:01:21 go
2:01:22 and check
2:01:25 out the AI Salon the salon. a is going
2:01:28 to take you to a link tree click on the
2:01:31 first link that says AI Salon Community
2:01:33 go read about the
2:01:36 community what we're about what our
2:01:38 values are make sure you resonate with
2:01:39 the values it doesn't cost anything this
2:01:42 is not a sales
2:01:45 pitch actually it does cost
2:01:47 something I don't want you to join this
2:01:50 community if when looking at the values
2:01:53 you don't resonate with the values cuz
2:01:55 the values for the
2:01:58 salon is what that Salon like that's how
2:02:01 people show up there so if you're not
2:02:04 into that don't
2:02:05 come cuz you won't like it and it won't
2:02:08 like
2:02:09 you but if you look at those values and
2:02:11 you're like holy [ __ ] that can't be true
2:02:13 it
2:02:15 is en
2:02:20 join good Brandon thank you tomorrow so
2:02:23 we have bi-weekly meetings and tomorrow
2:02:25 night is the next AI Salon
2:02:28 meeting and we've got um a photographer
2:02:31 out of California named Hugh it begins
2:02:33 with a K I can't remember the last of it
2:02:36 like remarkable like 30-year career
2:02:40 Kick-Ass
2:02:41 photographer who's now exploring AI is
2:02:44 going to be showing his work talking
2:02:46 about his work and talking about what
2:02:49 where he is with
2:02:50 AI um the meetings are are really
2:02:52 interesting I also have a a a co-host
2:02:55 who was a is a photo
2:02:58 agent um and so she's going to be
2:03:00 talking to him it's going to be really
2:03:02 cool um so so that's tomorrow so go join
2:03:06 that read the [ __ ] values seriously
2:03:10 I'm like I'm serious about
2:03:13 this cuz some people read those values
2:03:16 and go e that sounds awful
2:03:19 great go find another Community where
2:03:21 they have the opposite value cuz they
2:03:22 exist there's a lot of them if you read
2:03:25 those values and they make your heart go
2:03:27 a flutter cool jump
2:03:31 in so go do that if you want to support
2:03:35 this channel I would love that follow
2:03:39 me you can subscribe to the lives you
2:03:42 can pick up there's in one of these
2:03:45 Corners there's a video series called
2:03:46 underhyped it's a series of videos that
2:03:49 I put together talking about how AI
2:03:51 works why I think it's a big deal why
2:03:54 2023 was the new 1995 there's a bunch of
2:03:56 stuff in there it's cool that supports
2:03:59 the channel you can you can tap tap the
2:04:01 screen which is cool we're up to 23,000
2:04:04 likes for for this little session thank
2:04:06 you um you know you can give gifts and
2:04:08 [ __ ] like that that's
2:04:10 appreciated um most importantly if you
2:04:13 want to support the channel Lord digital
2:04:15 Gods thank you for the Roses very much
2:04:18 appreciated s um if you want to support
2:04:21 the channel um keep showing up here
2:04:24 that's really what makes this thing sing
2:04:27 is people show up again and again and
2:04:30 again and we just are exploring [ __ ]
2:04:32 together and it's kind of like a jam
2:04:34 session um yes you can sponsor a month
2:04:37 at the salon we we didn't have a sponsor
2:04:39 for the month of March so that one's
2:04:44 gone but if you want to sponsor April
2:04:47 that's open and it's 150 bucks it's not
2:04:50 much but how we have this thing be
2:04:52 free is by people sponsoring it or
2:04:56 buying
2:04:58 merch um all right what else um yeah
2:05:04 it's 5:00 P p.m mountain time tomorrow
2:05:06 so 4 P.M Pacific 700 p.m. Eastern is the
2:05:10 meeting tomorrow night and the
2:05:11 information is is at the AI Salon
2:05:15 community and what
2:05:17 else thank you thank you for hanging out
2:05:21 tonight like I was doing some relatively
2:05:24 deep geeking there that's not a lot of
2:05:25 fun to watch necessarily um but it's
2:05:29 it's really cool that you're hanging out
2:05:31 and and exploring this stuff with me
2:05:33 thanks to the Irregulars so the people
2:05:35 that show up here night after night
2:05:36 after night it blows me away that that
2:05:38 you do that so thank you and thank you
2:05:40 to the mods that help make uh create
2:05:43 sanity for me amongst the chaos um Leah
2:05:47 and Kyle sponsored March yeah actually
2:05:50 you know um merch sales and and previous
2:05:53 sponsorship sponsored March so it's it's
2:05:55 fine that we don't have a sponsor but
2:05:57 there's a sponsorship opportunity if you
2:05:59 sponsor April or whatever month um you
2:06:03 get mentioned in the bi-weekly meetings

2:08:59 we're entering buckle up buttercups
2:09:03 we're entering kind of a new phase where
2:09:06 this stuff's going to get a bit more
2:09:07 complicated for a while because there's
2:09:09 going to be a lot of new things just to
2:09:12 get our heads around all right so just
2:09:15 prepare for it it's going to be fun
2:09:17 we're going to play but there's gonna be
2:09:20 a bunch of new [ __ ] so just you know
2:09:22 osmosis you don't need to take notes
2:09:24 progress here is not linear yeah exactly
2:09:27 exactly Brandon I I have a feeling the
2:09:28 next three months are going to be a
2:09:30 series of sort of ramped up things where
2:09:34 like like wait what it does that now
2:09:36 like that thing I just did with the
2:09:37 video make the chapter where it chapter
2:09:40 IES it from a narrative standpoint as
2:09:42 well as visual elements as well as well
2:09:44 as on-screen
2:09:46 text I'm in the middle of building that
2:09:50 tool I don't need to build that tool
2:09:54 anymore that's now an API
2:09:58 call holy
2:10:00 [ __ ] so just yeah stuff's
2:10:05 coming going to be
2:10:07 big going to be fun keep coming back
2:10:12 peace
