6. 1:13uh this is the AI learning lab my name is Kyle Shannon uh I like talking about all things AI generative AI I spoke on a
7. 1:21panel at the Colorado ad day here in well it was actually in Boulder today earlier and uh a room full of folks in the ad world
8. 1:31uh it was standing room only apparently people are starting to wonder what the [ __ ] is going on with this AI stuff
9. 1:39uh uh but it was it was interesting a lot of really good questions and talked about that if you have questions about
10. 1:45AI pop them in the comments below and I will do my best to answer them if you have not tried any of the AI stuff
11. 1:53um that's what these URLs are for uh the top one is the official uh chat GPT website start there just go
12. 2:02play there were they America amazed or scared or both I I think they were I think they were both and I think I think being both
13. 2:12as excited as you've ever been and as scared of as you've ever been of some technologies as the appropriate
14. 2:18life is about balance so I feel like it's appropriate to be both excited and scared right now um but uh but but some some really big news
15. 2:30today Adobe announced um Firefly for Enterprise so they're basically they're basically saying okay you know Firefly because
16. 2:41it's been trained on safe data it hasn't been trained on copywritten data corporations can use uh generative AI oh
17. 2:49there's lots and lots of new people here hey my name is Kyle Shannon this is the AI learning lab uh I'm an entrepreneur I
18. 2:55like talking about generative AI answering questions about it I'm here to demystify it and um I'm not deep in it I've only been in
19. 3:03it for about a year but I have been here before in 1994 I started one of the first online magazines and I started one
20. 3:11of the first digital agencies an agency called agency.com and so um I was kind of there at the beginning
21. 3:19of that world wide web thing and had a big Epiphany about it and and it turned out to come true and so I had a similar
22. 3:26Epiphany with this generative AI stuff shortly after chat GPT came out and um and so that's why this channel exists
23. 3:34um my mind got blown if you haven't played with chat GPT that's what these URLs are I don't get paid for them these
24. 3:40are just here as kind of a public service announcement so the top one is the official chat GPT website I'm happy
25. 3:45to talk about that below it is bing.com that's Microsoft search engine but it now has a chat button and if you click
26. 3:52that it's gpt4 connected to the internet and then poe.com is another chat bot where you can chat lots of different
27. 4:00models and I can talk about that too and then these bottom two URLs uh prompts.chat allows you um it basically teaches you about
28. 4:10prompting and then it gives you like this never-ending list of prompts that you can play with and kind of focus chat
29. 4:15GPT to be little different experts for you little co-pilots for you and then futurepedia.io that is just lots and
30. 4:24lots of tools so that's what this is all about uh ask questions in the comments I'll do my best to keep up with them um let's see
31. 4:34could I be more specific about the topics you spoke about um well there was a moderator I wasn't the moderator so he asked questions like
32. 4:44um you know do you think there will ever be a time where generative AI is as creative or more creative than a human and my
33. 4:54response to that was it already is with me um like it's way better at illustrating than I am but I get to wield it right I
34. 5:01get to choose what it illustrates but it's way better like my creative skills have up leveled in the past three months
35. 5:09because I've I've taken advantage of these tools um we talked about ethics and bias and copyright all that sort of stuff um
36. 5:23one of the guys in the audience asked if I thought that you know agencies were going to shrink dramatically my response to that was
37. 5:33I think that smaller agencies are going to have an advantage I think I think big holding companies that rely on on
38. 5:40billable hours and time and material a time and materials model I think clients are going to start coming to those big holding companies
39. 5:47and and demanding flat flat pricing right we'll pay you x amount of dollars for this amount of work delivered you
40. 5:55can't charge us billable hours anymore because clients are going to increasingly know that stuff can be knocked out very quickly so I think
41. 6:03they're going to demand to agencies that they turn things around more quickly that they don't gouge them on time and materials
42. 6:11um and that they charge them less so I think being a small agency right now is a good thing being a massive holding
43. 6:18company right right now is probably pretty scary um I'll try if other things come up that I talked about uh do I have instructions
44. 6:27or an example of making an AI generated avatars and voice yeah I did this last night so um let me pop over to D- ID

46. 7:00okay here's a bunch of videos that I've made and so I'll just I'll just play one of them for you so this is this is a video that I made for

48. 7:19just 60 seconds you ready let's talk Transformers and no not the robots in Disguise Transformer models in AI are
49. 7:27the brains behind many language tasks like translation summarization and even this very video script think of
50. 7:34Transformers as super smart switchboards they take and I'll just stop that right there okay so that dude sort of looks
51. 7:41like me like a Pixar version of me I created that in mid-journey so I uploaded two of my photos and then I
52. 7:48said a Pixar male with light brown hair and gray on the sides and square glasses it didn't quite get the square glasses thing right
53. 7:57um but I didn't want to spend a ton of time on it and it gave me a really weird nose so I fixed the nose so anyway I got
54. 8:02the image where I wanted it and then I use Chachi PT to help me write a script um I just said you know um make a 60 second Tick Tock script
55. 8:13talking about um Transformers and it did that um and then I took it over to 11 labs which is it's thundering here so it's
56. 8:24very possible my power will go out so if I just disappear that's what's going on there's not much to look at here but I'm
57. 8:30going to go to voice lab so at 11 Labs so this is eleven labs.io and you can upload recordings of yourself talking and then
58. 8:43um and then basically just upload a script it'll sample your voice and then it synthesizes it so I'll say I'll pick one of these
59. 8:52models here and this has got the so the text that's in here let me make it a little bigger maybe you can see it so
60. 8:58the text that's in here is the text that I made on in chat EBT hey there it's Kyle Shannon I'm gonna get rid of the hey there hey it's Kyle
61. 9:08Shannon that's how I say it I don't say hey there what are they are they crazy uh and so now I'm going to generate this
62. 9:18and it will take that text and the sample it's Kyle Shannon with the AI learning lab and today we're going to
63. 9:25transform your understanding of AI so then you so once you have that audio file now you go back to D ID and to make a video here
64. 9:37you say create video and I've got like some of these pictures I uploaded some of them are are ones that are are there
65. 9:45but I'll just grab a different one I'll grab this uh this cyborg version of me that this is the Genesis image from my Kyle Shannon
66. 9:53dreams project and I'll go I'll go grab the audio file upload upload your voice is this it

68. 10:18the screen you just hit generate video generate and off it goes and it'll take I don't know it'll take maybe a minute or so
69. 10:29and that will do it so hopefully that gives you an idea of how how to do that lower the stability I don't know what

73. 11:10so you know these tools you know they're not quite there like the synthesized voice is still robotic but it you know
74. 11:17it sounds decently like me um and um you know this is as bad as it's ever going to be it's going to get you know
75. 11:29way better when using AI with something new is it still my intellectual property um I I think so I mean stabled a few or uh
76. 11:40open AI says that that you can do anything you want with it but they also say that they're not liable for it
77. 11:46there's going to be lots and lots of lawsuits because these large language models were trained on sort of all of
78. 11:54the internet including copywritten material and including copywritten images um there was a big deal today Adobe announced
79. 12:04um Firefly for Enterprise because the Adobe image generation was trained on public domain and Adobe stock images
80. 12:12that they own the rights to so it's commercially available um and so you're going to start to see that you're going to start to see where
81. 12:21there's Cool Tools like mid journey and stable diffusion that make great images but corporations businesses won't use
82. 12:28them because there's too much of a risk open AI is a bit it's a bit less clear um I think you'll be okay there but
83. 12:37um you know lawsuits are going to be flying for the next 20 years if you're new here uh these URLs the top one there
84. 12:45is the official chat EBT website just go there if you have questions about AI pop them in the in the comments below I'll
85. 12:51do my best to answer them and then uh and we can have fun I don't know we can do something all right lower the speed which channel
86. 13:01in mid-journey do you upload the pictures of yourself to okay I'll show you that so well there's three things
87. 13:08that you need to learn okay we don't need to learn this one the the first thing you need to do is you go to midjourney.com
88. 13:19you go to midjourney.com and it will take you to a lovely website that will basically just link you over to Discord
89. 13:28so it looks like the Matrix and then at some point here where's the button last the button where's the button join the beta
90. 13:43join the beta takes you to Discord okay so now I'm in Discord so if you don't know what Discord is it's a mess so all these things down the
91. 13:53left are called channels and they're called servers so these are different communities basically each little circle
92. 14:00represents a different community and then when I'm in a community like I'm in the mid Journey one right now and these
93. 14:07these things next to the circles are the channels so these are the different conversations and in mid-journey like
94. 14:14there's newbies 68 newbies 98 so these are rooms where you can make images so if this seems like a nightmare it is
95. 14:21so I'm going to go to the mid Journey channel in the AI Salon that that I started and um the way that you make images you say slash imagine
96. 14:36oops that was not right I spelled that wrong you spelled it wrong you spelled it so wrong it was so wrong
97. 14:44you're gonna get in trouble if you spell it that wrong imagine all the people whoops I didn't hit slash now good Lord
98. 14:55typing live is just it's very stressful people okay so you type imagine and then there's a prompt and then you say photo of a ghost
99. 15:06in an abandoned Factory and then I'm gonna do aspect ratio of 16 by nine and then I'm gonna also put
100. 15:21um spooky because maybe that'll help it looks spooky so so that's how that's how you just make an image in mid-journey okay so
101. 15:32what you can also do now this is really kind of horrible like the the interface on these tools right now is a bit of a disaster um
102. 15:44so let me see if I've got it back here yeah I do okay so I'm going to scroll down so so basically what you do is you can drag
103. 15:52and drop an image like a photograph into this little bar down here and it will upload the photographs to Mid Journey so
104. 16:00there's two there's one of me looking like a smart ass and there's one of me looking like I'm trying to look corporate with my co-founder
105. 16:09um so you upload those and then and then what you do is you right click on the image and you say cut at the bottom you say copy link
106. 16:21and then I'm going to go all the way down here to the bottom and I'm going to paste in that link oh wait I'm going to do slash imagine
107. 16:29and then the first thing I'm going to do is paste in that link so so now what I've told it is go look at that picture
108. 16:37and then I'm going to do um let's do um Disney Prince um Disney prince with
109. 16:55crown and tights and then I'll do a dash dash V which is version and I'll do 5.1
110. 17:09and then because that's the latest and then I'll do dash dash aspect ratio two comma three so I'll make it
111. 17:19two by three so now hit return there so now let's go look at the ghosts so it didn't make spooky ghosts it made like
112. 17:26people standing in sheets ghost although this one on the lower left's not bad that one's not bad come on there you go
113. 17:35um so those are pretty cool I mean mid-journey's just really really high quality high quality images so now it is off making um
114. 17:46images and and when you play with these tools you see they come in they start really fuzzy the way this technology
115. 17:51works it actually starts as kind of a random noise image that's been they sort of amalgamate all these randomly noized
116. 17:59images and then they just denoise them um over like 70 steps and so you you get to watch these things kind of draw
117. 18:06original images it's pretty wild oh it's it's it's gonna give me a princess too look at that it's not just a prince
118. 18:17um so anyway so that's how you add that's how you add images to mid-journey and uh it's pretty slick because you can
119. 18:23just add a single image and then it'll make pictures pitches and the pitches that look like me let's see here
120. 18:36oh it did a more photographic than than cartoony that's fine but like the one on the lower right that kind of looks like me
121. 18:45let me open it in a browser and we can zoom in on these the one on the upper right kind of looks like me but a little tubby but that's fair
122. 18:55because I am you know but this this one in the lower right like that looks pretty much like me and there's my little princess so wild huh
123. 19:06if you haven't played with this stuff it is mind-blowing it is mind-blowing uh if you have questions about anything

136. 22:10please that sucked let's go find another one uh musescore.org free download I don't want to download software I just want to play it on the
137. 22:21web this is getting annoying online ABC converters no that one's dead um mandolin tab here we go okay
138. 22:36so paste it in there and then hit how do you hit play submit and it did nothing all right anyway if you can
139. 22:49it's getting boring so I'm sure we're losing people okay anyway it will write you ABC music notation go find an ABC
140. 22:56Music music player download it do something like that and then you can print out all the notation so yes it
141. 23:02will help you do that now you it's not good at music it writes shitty songs um so you're gonna have to really
142. 23:09play around with the prompt crafting to get it to not suck but it's possible like and it works I mean it's it's actually kind of
143. 23:18remarkable like it knows what a waltz is and it knows to put things you know in chord progressions and things like that
144. 23:23it just tends to be very pedestrian the kind of stuff it does so that will get better is that Thunder you're hearing
145. 23:30yes it is it's thundering good here in Denver um where do you drag and drop oh okay so this is going back to to stable diffusion
146. 23:43so let me go grab an image so I'm going to go to finder so so I'm I'm in a Discord Channel um you know where I can do slash imagine
147. 23:53so I'm going to pop over to finder and I'm going to find a let me see 512 contains five one two
148. 24:08dream Booth 512s [Music] let's see okay there's a there's so there's a picture of me so I'm going to
149. 24:20grab that picture and then you literally just drag it into the comment window and there it is I'm going to hit return
150. 24:29and now that's in there and now that it's in there now I can right click on it and get copy link so you basically
151. 24:36need to get the link from Discord and then we'll go slash imagine and then we'll paste in that URL I didn't grab it hang on I'll go grab the
152. 24:50link copy link and in the prompt I'm going to paste in the thing and then I'm going to go um Disney cartoon villain in a
153. 25:07scary Forest wearing um a black trench coat let's make me menacing all right
154. 25:22and so so now it grabs that picture and it's taking that prompt and in a few short short moments will have me as a Disney villain
155. 25:33uh you can make 5.1 as default I know but I'm lazy and I have 80d so it takes me a month or two to get around to [ __ ] like that
156. 25:44oh add you're such a cruel mistress there are things that add gives me that I love and then there are other things
157. 25:51where I'm like could I just like have a normal [ __ ] relationship with the executive function as a human nope
158. 26:01is there a free image generator that comes even close to mid-journey there's one called Blue Willow which is also on
159. 26:08a Discord server so if you go to Blue Willow dot what I don't know that's why we're here Blue Willow Blue Willow free art generator
160. 26:22bluewillow dot Ai and that'll pop you over to their Discord server and it's it's more like stable diffuse I
161. 26:32think it's built on top of stable diffusion um and then also stable diffusion is free and you can use this thing called
162. 26:40automatic 1111 which allows you to do all sorts of you like have all sorts of controls the problem with automatic 1111
163. 26:47is you kind of have to be geeky to install it like I failed nine times before I got stable diffusion to work
164. 26:54um the good news is you can have chat GPT teach you how to install stable diffusion you basically just go get like
165. 27:01the GitHub read me and tell it to give you a tutorial and it'll walk you through it how do I begin if you're
166. 27:08brand new to AI this is saheed if you're brand new to generative AI in general the reason I put these things up here is
167. 27:16this is where I think you should start the very top one is is basically the the thing that changed everything that's chat GPT it's free
168. 27:26if you want to if you want to use gpt4 there you have to pay for it but if you use bing.com right below it that's gpt4
169. 27:34that's connected to the internet and it's free um I I happen to think open ai's official chat EPT is better than Bing's
170. 27:43right now but they're both good they're both really good um and if you pay the 20 bucks for chat GPT you can get plug-ins and it can be
171. 27:51connected to the internet and you get gpt4 um start asking it stuff you use GPT 3.5 which is the free version and I'm just going to
172. 28:02say let's let's do um right me a country song about
173. 28:16getting a flat tire on a dirt road and all my beer is warm
174. 28:36Bang and it will write you a song and it's probably pretty good let's see lives out cruising down a dusty road
175. 28:46just me and my old pickup trucks load when a pothole came out of nowhere popped my tire and left me stranded
176. 28:51there that's not great the chorus I got a flat tire so if it gives you something crappy you can say Okay that was cliche and boring can you
177. 29:08pretend you are Tim McGraw and write a write a country hit
178. 29:23let's see if it makes it any better oh that looks different so it knows who Tim McGraw is it knows what his lyrics are so now let's see if

184. 30:07written and tell it to write something else but in that style and just start getting your head around what these
185. 30:15things make possible and what they make possible is truly [ __ ] remarkable okay how do you make your own private
186. 30:24channel in Discord I forget I don't I actually don't know in mid-journey I forget sorry uh wait you know who's gonna tell us
187. 30:33that Chachi how do you make a new channel in Discord oh wait uh I'm gonna need to use the one connected to the
188. 30:44internet hold please let's go so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to gpt4 browse with Bing and why I'm doing that is
189. 30:53um the the data in 3.5 stops it September 2021 it probably doesn't know what mid journey is so I'm gonna go how do I make a
190. 31:06private Discord channel for Mid Journey so people can't see my work and then what it should do
191. 31:24so it says creating it open your Discord server clip on click on the name of your server go to server settings go to roles
192. 31:33and then click Plus and then name your role call it mid-journey save your changes go back to your server
193. 31:42create a category create a channel so just go just go ask um what you call it chat GPS
194. 31:56yay you're here hey Ann how are you um love the button article yeah the button article is cool so if you don't
195. 32:03know that uh there's a there's a Wharton business Wharton business school Professor named Ethan Malik and he wrote this article it's called
196. 32:13like the compression of time and and something about the button but basically what the what the point of the article is is
197. 32:21right now chat EBT is this thing off to the side and like universities are like should we use you know chat EBT
198. 32:27detectors and there's all this [ __ ] going on what's happening behind the scenes is Microsoft is building chat gbt into
199. 32:36all of their products so like all of Office 365 Windows all of their cloud services Dynamics their CRM it's built into all of it
200. 32:45it's not out yet but it's coming and then Google's doing the same Bard is gonna you know supercharge Google Docs
201. 32:52and Google's sheets and all that sort of stuff and what the article basically says is are you going to push the button and and
202. 32:59the the button is help me write right it's GPT so you're writing a letter and you're like I don't really feel like
203. 33:05writing this letter well push the button bang there's the letter right and and this the sort of thought experiment he
204. 33:12he he puts out there is if a student comes to him and says hey can you write me a letter of recommendation for a job
205. 33:20does he Push the Button he's saying the the the value we used to ascribe to someone taking the time to write a
206. 33:28letter was a lot about the time but he said is the goal to take the time or is the goal to get the kid a job well if you get the kid a job
207. 33:39does it matter how long it took you does it matter that you push the button and so it kind of sets up this idea that
208. 33:47what we value and what we Define as work and what we Define as value in work is all going to shift it's all going to
209. 33:56shift it's all going to change this was a lot of the stuff I was talking about in the in the panel I was on today it's
210. 34:01wild if you're new here uh my name is Kyle Shannon this is the AI learning lab I am learning about Ai and then I come
211. 34:07on lives and I make tick tocks to share as much as I can because I think it's important that as many people as
212. 34:14possible try this stuff that's why all these are here these are just things you should go try those top three things are
213. 34:20chat jpt like things the top one is chat GPT the second one uses chat GPT the third one has chat GPT and other things in it
214. 34:30um wolf from alpha what about it it's a brilliant 20 year old 20-ish year old mathematical engine um there's a Wolfram Alpha plug-in for
215. 34:45chat GPT so if you have access to plugins you know about mathematics enough to really demo it but so if I go new chat so so when you're in
216. 34:56chat GPT if you see this little yellow plus next to chat EBT that means I'm paying that means I'm a sucker and I'm
217. 35:02paying 20 bucks a month but what it gives me access to is gpt4 the default mode which is what it's always been the version that's
218. 35:13connected to the internet and then this thing called plugins and plugins are really interesting they're not great yet
219. 35:19but they're really interesting but how you turn them on is you go to your settings in chat EBT and then you've got
220. 35:25these things called beta features and they got browse with Bing and they got plugins you got to turn those on so that's how you enable them
221. 35:34and then we'll go here to plugins and um I've got a list of them so here's a bunch of things that I've installed you
222. 35:45can activate up to three in a chat session but there are hundreds of them so these are ones I've got installed and like
223. 35:54right now I only have one activated and then I'll activate Wolfram Alpha we'll just play with it I'll make an ass of
224. 36:01myself trying to do some math um but but if you want to add them you go to the bottom tab is called the plugin store and you click on all
225. 36:10and there are just hundreds of them there are 68 pages of four four filters each or four plugins each and then you
226. 36:19know like you can like let me type in YouTube so so YouTube Here's a bunch of um whatever you call it here's a bunch
227. 36:28of plugins that you know can look at the transcripts of YouTube videos and you can interact with them so there's all
228. 36:34sorts of stuff in there so just go explore but let's go ahead and turn I'm going to turn off prompt perfect and I'm
229. 36:40going to turn on wolf from Alpha which is right there and then and then let's see um um can you um
230. 36:56show me a complicated mathematical call mathematical um formula and then
231. 37:11um solve it question mark let's see what it gives us so it should fire off Wolfram Alpha no it's just doing it on its own oh okay
232. 37:27using Wolfram okay so it said sure let's consider the following integral which is a bit complicated sum or whatever that
233. 37:34is to the cosine to the X to the DX and then it fired off wool from alpha and then it says the seleuse the solution is
234. 37:43right and it shows me the solution can you explain to me how you got to the solution sure I'd be happy to explain so there's
235. 37:57the formula oh sorry it's behind my fat head so I'll screw up so what it said what it did initially is it
236. 38:06gave us this formula then it fired off the plug-in for wolf from Alpha and then inside that you can open these up
237. 38:13it's sent off you know a coded version of that formula and then the response from Wolfram was this and then
238. 38:23I asked it to explain it and it didn't need to go back to Wolfram Alpha because it it understands enough about math to
239. 38:30explain what it's doing so so that's kind of how plugins work it's it's like a it's like a little superpower in a in a in a little pill
240. 38:39and then you turn that on for a session and basically what you're doing what's cool about plugins the thing the the
241. 38:45thing that that kind of hit me about plugins is that what you're effectively doing is you're making like a little specialized
242. 38:52application so if you turn on a bunch of plugins say for travel and mapping and restaurants you could say hey plan me a

264. 41:42not it and then you try to change it and and it's it's troubleshooting it's it's like it's like creative troubleshooting
265. 41:48and and it's really fun when when you start thinking of it like that um literally just type slash options now

343. 53:38he learns about your brand voice okay yep step two select content type fetch content blog posts social media yeah so what this is
344. 53:50um this looks pretty slick it looks like they've they've put at least a little bit of time in it but basically what
345. 53:56this is this is probably using GPT 3.5 maybe gpd4 um but they've figured out a bunch of prompts and then they've just put it in
346. 54:05front of this interface so when you when it asks you about your brand voice it'll probably ask you a series of questions
347. 54:10that then goes into their prompting engine um and then when you say you know I want to write blogs based on my brand voice
348. 54:19they've got a prompt that's sitting underneath there so what they've created you could recreate by just figuring out
349. 54:26your own prompts but there's gonna there's gonna be thousands and thousands of these things Jasper is one of these
350. 54:31copy.ai is one of these there's a guy on Tick Tock named McKenzie Bose that's got GPT boss it's one of these um some of them are going to be
351. 54:40brilliant and are going to save you time and you're just going to be like screw it I'm willing to use that but almost
352. 54:45all of these you can probably do some version of yourself what I would encourage you to do is start experimenting with you know if they give
353. 54:55you do stuff for free go get some of their content and then see if you can write prompts that give you content
354. 55:01that's as good that would be a good exercise to do thoughts on Apple Vision Pro um first one was relief like like apple hasn't
355. 55:13um launched anything truly new and Innovative since Steve Jobs died and I was getting kind of bored and frustrated um
356. 55:23the thing is a technological Marvel I thought was brilliant in a couple of areas they didn't use the word metaverse once even when they did
357. 55:39full immersive where people were entering VR full VR they didn't use the word VR they didn't use the word
358. 55:46metaverse and they didn't use the term AI not once but what they made very very clear is that a lot of what that device is doing is
359. 55:58machine learning it's AI right like it's it's machine learning but you know AI is the term you know they they mentioned
360. 56:06Transformers and they mentioned machine learning and they mentioned you know doing inferences on the device what that
361. 56:12basically means is they can do their own AI processing in the headset itself so they're not sending um they're not sending your data out to
362. 56:22a server to be processed and come back like that's how chat gbt works right now that's why there's security questions about it
363. 56:30um so so the the foundation of what that thing does um and I I heard someone told me that there's 5 000 plus patents in just in
364. 56:40the goggles five thousand patents it's been under development for nine years it looks like a product that's got nine
365. 56:46years of development in it it you know it's it's pretty amazing will it be successful I don't know um but again you know like what here's
366. 56:55what they here's what they did really successfully that I thought was quite impressive is from a form factor standpoint they're
367. 57:04essentially exactly the same as all the other headsets out there right there there they've got two little LED things
368. 57:11that that project [ __ ] into your eyes they've got some sort of motion tracking and some sort of input you know Apple
369. 57:20you know made the input your irises and your fingers there's no controller so like there's there's Advanced [ __ ] but
370. 57:27it's effectively just a set of goggles but I think that they successfully separated themselves from every other
371. 57:35Goggle out there and said this is a Computing platform this is the new computer and the new computer doesn't require controllers
372. 57:44it just requires you to look at [ __ ] and then do this with your fingers like make magic gestures and it will do it
373. 57:53um and and this is going to be a new way that we interact with our computers like I feel like they successfully put a flag
374. 57:59in the ground and establish spatial Computing as a new thing which is what they did with the iPhone it's what they
375. 58:07did with the iPod it's what they did with the Macintosh right it's what they did with the watch like like they have successfully done
376. 58:15this time and time again where where they come out later than other people and successfully take some similar set
377. 58:23of Technologies but they're executed at such a high level of critical thinking and combination of tech and art

384. 59:35more creative neutral or more precise flip it into creative mode and just start writing with it and it's free it's
385. 59:42completely free so I would say if you don't want to spend money you just want to start experimenting just go to bing.com here I'll show

489. 1:16:56um but but the front end technology um was written very very quickly so you know so I don't know like like the thing so I think the Adobe
490. 1:17:07announcement today is really significant they they announced today that they're they're um releasing Adobe Firefly which is their
491. 1:17:16generative AI for images they're releasing it for Enterprises so so they're basically putting a flag in the
492. 1:17:22ground and they're saying our models are safe from a copyright perspective it's safe for businesses to use generative Ai
493. 1:17:29and we're even going to allow corporations to train these models on their own brand brand elements and brand Style um
494. 1:17:39so a company the size of adobe making AI safe for companies like companies are skittery about Chachi BT they're way
495. 1:17:49skittery about mid-journey and stable diffusion because there's lawsuits flying there right now um so I think that's I think that's
496. 1:17:57pretty significant so so for me I think the the it's not a it's not a prediction but I think I think it's going to happen really quickly
497. 1:18:07that The Dominoes were will start to fall that that AI will just get subsumed into the business infrastructure when
498. 1:18:18Microsoft launches Office 365 and Google launches Google office with Bard in it which they both announced right like these things are
499. 1:18:29there so you're going to be able to do things like in in uh you'll be in Microsoft Word and you like you know turn this
500. 1:18:36um quarterly report into a PowerPoint presentation it'll just flip over to PowerPoint and write you a presentation like that stuff's coming
501. 1:18:45so for me I think the thing is the assimilation of AI into our daily lives and that's when that's when the shit's
502. 1:18:52gonna really hit the fan that that people that are good at this are going to be in demand and people that have fought this and dismissed it
503. 1:19:01and and and ignored it and pretended that they've got three years to deal with it they're going to be in trouble

575. 1:29:08like Keith olberman there and a little too I don't know Shaggy and then I changed the prompt to make me
576. 1:29:15look less old and then it gave me those I'm like okay those are not bad then I did another set of variations and
577. 1:29:21then I did variations on the variations and then I picked a couple and then I went over to photoshop and I used generative fill to
578. 1:29:36let's see I use generative fill to hang on create video see see how I made the whole background here I put like that character in an
579. 1:29:49office and blurred it so that was all done with generative fill so the character was created in mid-journey
580. 1:29:56as kind of a vertical photo and then I extended it and then I basically just cropped it to make the vertical version of it
581. 1:30:05so that's what came out of Photoshop that also came out of Photoshop after I cropped it and then that's how I made those images
582. 1:30:21akinator's been around for years yeah so so even though we're talking about this AI stuff like it's you know it's only
583. 1:30:28showed up in the past six months like gpt3 was out for what a year and a half before chat GPT launched so so this
584. 1:30:35stuff's been around you know Jasper and copy AI those were all built on gpt3 so so there's a bunch of tools out there

594. 1:32:07content generation tools where I'll create a Google form where people input stuff into the Google form it then sends
595. 1:32:13a prompt with that data off to open AI generate some content I'll do that three or four times then I put it in an email
596. 1:32:20and send out the email so it can do stuff like that it can do a series of actions in a row like these little Lego blocks you string together
597. 1:32:28and it's a little complicated and a little wonky but what they've added now is generative AI so so powered by AI it
598. 1:32:35says here let me make this a little bigger so you can see it um what would you like to automate so let's see
599. 1:32:42how hard is it to use automation technology to Auto share a listing throughout today okay I want to create a listing
600. 1:32:54multiple times a day and then share that with an email list I don't I don't know if that's quite what you're doing but
601. 1:33:08um you just hit generate and it will now create for you what it thinks that automation should be zap was not generated why
602. 1:33:23oh wait maybe it's because I said I want to create let's just say create a listing uh wait okay let's see okay let's see create
603. 1:33:36and automation that sends out multi multiple um emails a day
604. 1:33:52based on a generated listing specific intervals
605. 1:34:07let's see if it does that maybe their beta is broken it looks like their beta is broken right now well when this worked it was cool
606. 1:34:20you hate technology like oh let me show you this cool thing uh it's gonna be so cool when it works uh it doesn't work
607. 1:34:30I don't know why it's not doing that yeah well whatever it's broken but I would use zapier that's the one

611. 1:35:10these creators ensure safety since my understanding they could learn exponentially faster wait how do these creators ensure safety well
612. 1:35:23herein lies the rub um six months ago there were just a handful of companies that had this power open AI
613. 1:35:32is the one that kind of Unleashed it on the world and then because chat TPT got so popular everyone kind of panicked and said we've
614. 1:35:42got AI too and they all just came out of the woodworking Google did their they did an announcement in Paris that was
615. 1:35:49embarrassing and then they just did a recent one where they're like look at all this AI [ __ ] we got and then meta
616. 1:35:54came out and said we've got AI stuff too and then Amazon said they've got AI test too when meta screamed from the mountains that they
617. 1:36:04had AI stuff they put some of their core large language models out to developers who then took them and then said we're
618. 1:36:13going to give them to everybody and they just went everywhere and so now there's these open source large language models that you know once
619. 1:36:23once they had the core foundational models um they started fine-tuning them and and basically the developer Community is now
620. 1:36:32creating open source large language models they're essentially as strong as GPT 3.5 for like a hundred dollars in training
621. 1:36:41stuff that took Google like 10 million dollars to create and open AI five million dollars to create you can now
622. 1:36:47just do yourself for like a hundred bucks um and so when these models were behind the corporate doors there was some control
623. 1:36:57you could say to Sam Altman hey Skippy you're getting a little big for your britches there why don't you dial back
624. 1:37:03the safety on that until we got this [ __ ] figured out well now that they're open source there's no safety guard rails on any of
625. 1:37:10that stuff so I would say all of the companies are going to do what they need to do to be commercially viable right so they'll they'll keep
626. 1:37:18that stuff safe but the open source Community they're a bunch of [ __ ] cowboys and cowgirls let's let's be balanced here shall we
627. 1:37:28um so so I don't know I but your point is a good one that that these AI are going to start training themselves and
628. 1:37:36they're going to get exponentially better and smarter and faster and more capable um and if there aren't safety guard
629. 1:37:43rails there then it's a mess um one company that I'm particularly intrigued by right now is anthropic that has a thing called the
630. 1:37:52Constitutional learning model that to me feels like the right approach for this safety so stuff what's your favorite chat GPT type
631. 1:38:00website the one I put at the top of the list that openai.com you too can make money watch activate day
632. 1:38:10um don't listen to those people by the way um that's the website and then Bing is number two in pose number three and the
633. 1:38:19only reason pose number three is just it's there's a lot there there's a lot of Po there's a lot of different models
634. 1:38:23you can play with but but chat.openai.com if you're just starting with this stuff go there and start asking it to do stuff for you and then
635. 1:38:31sit back and pick your job off the ground after an hour or two and be like holy [ __ ] it can do that
636. 1:38:38take stuff that you know I did this once I was doing a uh I was doing a talk for a group of entrepreneurs and this woman had a um
637. 1:38:47a gardening business and she said well like how would I use it in my gardening business I said I don't know and I just typed into chat
638. 1:38:54gbt I said make me a table I I said I said right now it's this time of year make me a table of plants that are um easy to take care of
639. 1:39:09are well suited for the climate in Denver and you know are okay to plant at this time of year and it just spit out
640. 1:39:18this table of like 20 plants and she said she said that's what I do she goes that would have taken me two days so
641. 1:39:27it's like if you've not played with chat EPT take something that you know and and like go ask it to like do a favor for
642. 1:39:34you or like solve a problem for you and then just sit back and just especially if you know something you'll just see it
643. 1:39:40I I don't know it'll just it'll just your head will go foreign just like The Last of Us all right wouldn't there come a time when people
644. 1:39:52rely on AI too much and stop advancing no because humans are not static beings we want to contribute we want to connect
645. 1:40:03I think it's far more likely that the mundane repetitive soul-crushing work that a lot of us do gets automated out
646. 1:40:17and then we have a choice to make what do you want to do what how what do you want to contribute how do you want to
647. 1:40:22contribute so I think I think there are going to be a lot of people Reinventing themselves and their careers um many of them not voluntarily
648. 1:40:33but we all get to play with these tools and so I think there's a very real real possibility that we we effectively enter a great
649. 1:40:43Renaissance where the level and quality of creativity in the world goes up dramatically um and and people are always going to
650. 1:40:55want to contribute like like you know that whole thing about you know if I didn't have to work I'd just sit around
651. 1:41:00and smoke doobies and yeah it gets old after a while and then at some point people are like I want to do something
652. 1:41:07you know what I've always wanted to do I've always wanted to write a novel I wonder if Chachi BD could happen to write a novel oh my God
653. 1:41:16you know before you know it they're a novelist all right how do you think AI will affect the future of end user I.T support I think
654. 1:41:29I think that um here's what I think about customer support in general I think there's a very real possibility
655. 1:41:38in a very short amount of time like if I were running in like a a phone center in India right now I'd be shaking in my boots
656. 1:41:47because if I were running a big company right now in a big expense of mine was um call centers I would
657. 1:41:58as quickly as possible put synthesized people like Bots that talk and have them start answering the phone
658. 1:42:08I would train them on all of my customer data or you know my customer support data so when you call into this thing you're
659. 1:42:17no longer put on hold because it's just Bots answering the phone but these Bots are more capable than anything you've
660. 1:42:23ever talked to right because they know everything and those Bots are also smart enough to say oh this guy's got a problem that
661. 1:42:32actually deserves to be escalated to a human and it would escalate that problem to a human so so what a big company
662. 1:42:38could do in in my opinion probably within two years is completely get rid of the call center replace all of those
663. 1:42:46call center people with with Bots and then train new call center people maybe that are local in different regions that
664. 1:42:52are higher level customer engagement people so the Bots can deal with almost everything but any special situations that need to be escalated
665. 1:43:02go to actual humans and you don't get put on hold and you don't go through ridiculous phone trees and everything is remembered
666. 1:43:10and notes are typed up so that by by the time the bot escalates something to a human they give them a complete report
667. 1:43:16of exactly what you talked about and exactly what the issues were and exactly why it was escalated so um I think there's a chance that
668. 1:43:26customer support gets dramatically better in this new world but it's going to be massively disruptive chat EPT is sometimes wrong chatgpt is
669. 1:43:35many times wrong I like to refer to it as mansplaining as a service it will confidently answer you even if it's wrong cheers man

685. 1:46:11next couple of decades everyone is going to sue everyone if because so here's the thing like even even if the lawsuits are
686. 1:46:18frivolous like there's going to be so much disruption like some big company's gonna go out of business and they're gonna go well that
687. 1:46:26was because of chat GPT [ __ ] it let's go Sue chat GPT like like it's just it's gonna be everywhere so I right now I'm
688. 1:46:34taking all of the lawsuits with a grain assault none of these Technologies would exist if these companies didn't just say
689. 1:46:41[ __ ] it let's just go train it on everything if they like like if open AI had gone you know let's go get copyright agreements from
690. 1:46:49every piece of data on the internet that it would never would have launched right if stable diffusion in mid-journey said
691. 1:46:56maybe we should get the artist permission before we train on all their [ __ ] no like like why is stable diffusion open
692. 1:47:04sourcing all of their technology because they probably know deep down they're going to get their asses sued from here
693. 1:47:10to Oblivion and they might as well put the tech out in the world so we should be quite grateful in my

710. 1:49:54for chat GPT plus you get gpt4 and then you also get access to the new features that they're rolling out one of
711. 1:50:04them is gpt4 connected to the internet one of them is plugins there's a new one coming out called code interpreter

717. 1:50:50Vector databases are for data scientists and I'm not I'm yeah I might uh it looks like there's some new folks here I'm not just
718. 1:51:02a whiny guy I'm I also act like a CEO I'm a founder and CEO of a company called storyvine um an 11 year old video technology
719. 1:51:12company I've been deep diving into AI for the past year this channel is about me trying to get what I'm learning out
720. 1:51:21of my head because it is so intense what's happening and really just get as many people as possible up to
721. 1:51:29speed on AI demystify it de-demonize it um and just talk about why I think it's it is it is indeed the next big thing um
722. 1:51:38so that's what this is about um Vector databases Okay so ah where do I begin when when you train these large language
723. 1:51:49models on all the words the way they work is um they create um they create a vector space so think like
724. 1:51:59an XY plot right so if you have the word dog and the word cat and the word bird and the word whatever like those might
725. 1:52:06be all all be animals and then the the embedding you know they basically turn those words and their sort of semantic
726. 1:52:15neighbors into vectors so they kind of plot them on an X Y um chart so so they'll sort of plot them mathematically
727. 1:52:26and it's not just two Dimensions it's like thousands of Dimensions so these are incredibly complicated
728. 1:52:33um mathematical spaces but what they are is think of it like little neighborhoods like like um you take the word dog and and one
729. 1:52:42definition of the word dog is the furry animal that we like to pet and keep in our house and the other version of the
730. 1:52:47word dog is you know he's a dog he cheated on her right so there's a whole so those are two very different semantically
731. 1:52:55um unrelated versions of the word Doug so you have these little clusters of words that are all semantically related
732. 1:53:00and then as you type your um your prompts in it takes those prompts and it mathematically sort of calculates which
733. 1:53:10part of the vector space which part of the the vector database you know these little clusters should we be looking in
734. 1:53:17and then within that it it creates a probability of what word would be the next word in the response and it and it
735. 1:53:24just basically keeps doing that and so as it writes all this stuff it's literally writing it one word at a time
736. 1:53:29based on a probability engine so the vector database is you can there's a thing called Lang chain where you can
737. 1:53:37point the embedding engine at a bunch of your data it turns it into these mathematical numbers that live in this
738. 1:53:43crazy ass Vector space and then there's Vector databases where you just dump those numbers in and when you do your
739. 1:53:51llm search it can search on your data in your vector database and you know it basically combines it with the
740. 1:54:00the large language model Vector I don't know how the [ __ ] it does it but it basically you can add your data to their data
741. 1:54:06it's some version of that that's what a vector database is um so yeah if you've got questions about AI I obviously try to answer them even
742. 1:54:16if I am fundamentally flawed in my logic and understanding because I'm a man and that's what we do how would AI affect
743. 1:54:24end user it support we answered that one already it's going to completely transform it I think it's going to get
744. 1:54:29better for the end user I think it's going to completely [ __ ] up a lot of jobs also instead of getting just one answer
745. 1:54:36from chat GPT ask it for 10 or 20 options yep that's really good the other good trick with chat GPT is have it
746. 1:54:42analyze its own work when it gives you an answer tell it to analyze the answer and tell you how it could make it better

776. 1:59:12those guys that's it's a really big deal it's a really big deal we had at the AI Salon we had we had one of the creative
777. 1:59:18directors from Deloitte digital come speak at the AI salon and he he this was three months ago and he could not even use mid-journey on
778. 1:59:28his work computer so so he was using mid-journey to do concepting for Creative Direction and he had to do it on the weekends on
779. 1:59:36his own personal computer and then he would email himself the images that he created that he liked because he couldn't use mid-journey on
780. 1:59:44his work computer because the lawyers at Deloitte digital are like if if there is like a microscopic chance of our clients
781. 1:59:52getting sued and then by extension us getting sued no one's [ __ ] using [ __ ] so the fact that adobe has kind of
782. 2:00:01cracked the code of getting these big companies to accept generative AI within months I mean holy [ __ ] it's amazing
783. 2:00:13they were very tight-lipped about any updates yeah actually John Knack who's one of the lead AI guys at Adobe he he
784. 2:00:20spoke at one of the real early AI salons and showed us some of the early Firefly stuff and he's he's coming back
785. 2:00:27either in two weeks or the meeting after that to give us an update on generative fill and all the stuff that they're up
786. 2:00:33to and and I'm definitely going to have him talk about the Enterprise stuff because I think it's a huge deal
787. 2:00:39I really do I think I think it's really really powerful I'm so proud to see how word to VEC and glove have evolved I don't know those

791. 2:01:31learn all this stuff and then I went I went to try to learn it I was just like oh my God I don't have the brain for this
792. 2:01:38um but yeah the the the speed with which all of these tools are are improving is is really impressive I mean that's the the other thing is
793. 2:01:47like one of the one of the remarkable things about Chachi PT getting such massive adoption so quickly is that all
794. 2:01:57of the developer Community like turned away from metaverse and toward generative AI like everyone like and you
795. 2:02:04know everyone that was doing anything just sort of laser focus on generative AI so so the amount of innovation
796. 2:02:10happening because of that is just it's insane so I'm curious metaverse if you work for one of those companies if you work on
797. 2:02:23that technology that's super cool um I think that's key Kyle ask things you know the answer to and learn how it
798. 2:02:31works yeah that so so what I was saying if you're new to to chat gbt it can be really overwhelming because it can do so
799. 2:02:38much you're like where do I start start with stuff you know and and stuff that when you get an answer back you can
800. 2:02:44immediately go that's good or that's bad um because it's really easy to get fooled by it because if you don't if you
801. 2:02:49don't actually know what you're looking at it's it's very good at fooling you with really shitty or false answers how
802. 2:02:55would AI affect end user support I have answered that so many times we've talked about this it's going to be very impactful
803. 2:03:05but if you are a real specialist in your field chechi PT and other llms very often wait are very often on the surface um
804. 2:03:19it it depends I I would certainly think that in certain in certain areas of expertise that's probably true that that maybe they can't
805. 2:03:27go deep but they're trained on such a a broad data set that what it might be is that you need to get better at providing
806. 2:03:36context and getting them to look more narrowly so so here's the here's the metaphor I figured out I heard Andre
807. 2:03:41carpathy talk who's the I think he's the chief technologist and one of the founders of openai and he was talking
808. 2:03:47about how these things work and he was talking about the vector space and Vector databases and things like that
809. 2:03:52and here's the metaphor that I came up with if you just type write me up like solve this math problem right
810. 2:04:01think of it like you're in a helicopter above the Grand Canyon and so when you start out with a really generic prompt
811. 2:04:08you know down in the Grand Canyon are all these canyons and sub canyons and little you know um you know like little whatever they're called
812. 2:04:18mini Canyons like my brain's not working right now um but when you're high enough in the helicopter you can see down you can see
813. 2:04:25all of the all of the vector spaces right you can see all of the Canyons and and what he was talking about was
814. 2:04:34you ask it to solve a very specific math problem chatgpt doesn't know the difference between this math professor
815. 2:04:41who actually has the answer and these 20 students who answered the math problem but they answered it wrong
816. 2:04:48so if you're if if you're at a very generic kind of prompt it'll sort of look down into all the vector space and
817. 2:04:54it's like I just need an answer to this math problem and it'll sort of you know pull in the amalgamation of answers and
818. 2:05:02it might pull in 90 of them as student answers and 10 of them as math professor answers and it will just give you
819. 2:05:08something that looks like an answer that it thinks is right but if what you do is say I want you to act like you know a a Stanford you know
820. 2:05:16level Advanced mathematic Professor what you're doing is you're kind of lowering that helicopter into a specific Canyon
821. 2:05:24where the the vector space does not include so many false positives effectively right so the reason it works
822. 2:05:31well to tell it to be a specific thing is is you're eliminating a bunch of the the the wrong answers so that might be there there might be
823. 2:05:41there might be something there where you can dig deeper into a specific area and not have it be so generic
824. 2:05:53Cablevision does that with service troubleshooting that's cool I would like to see companies completely revamp
825. 2:06:00customer service because it's so painful to deal with anything with customer service right now like let's blow the [ __ ] up and start over
826. 2:06:14I lost my place in the questions again I'm also getting tired I'm tired I'm sweaty somebody called me moist earlier
827. 2:06:23and that hurt my feelings uh I just love the idea that people are scrolling through their Tick Tock and
828. 2:06:38they see like fat adult Baldwin and they're like wait who's this and I'm just going like that makes me happy
829. 2:06:52Tick Tock things gotta go I'm deleting the app uh all right I'm trying to find my place in the questions all right but if you're
830. 2:07:00a real specialist okay here we go [Laughter] um how about in medical services I think it's going to be brilliant in medical
831. 2:07:11services but I think there are certain categories of places that will be brilliant that will come slower anywhere
832. 2:07:18where people's lives are at the line or insurance companies are paying for [ __ ] they ain't gonna have it
833. 2:07:27um so like you don't want your pilot replaced with an llm like you may want your pilot assisted by an llm but you
834. 2:07:36want that [ __ ] in the cockpit when the you know when the wind shear happens you know coming into landing
835. 2:07:44um now the reality is the the AI might actually be better at Landing in wind shear than human Pilots but but
836. 2:07:53that's irrelevant right when you have people's lives on the line and insurance companies involved they want
837. 2:08:01you know they don't want the off chance that a computer bug is gonna is gonna crash the plane um so I think medical is kind of similar
838. 2:08:09but like they just did a test two weeks ago or so where they had a bunch of patients interact with chat GPT doctors
839. 2:08:15and real doctors and they didn't know which were which it was text chat the patient's overwhelmingly chose the
840. 2:08:23chat GPT doctors they said they were more capable and they said they were by far more empathetic so these large language models don't
841. 2:08:33feel empathy they don't have empathy but they they can deliver they can deliver data empathetically right so they can
842. 2:08:44deliver an empathetic answer even though they don't know what they're delivering they don't know it's empathy
843. 2:08:49they understand that when someone's asking about a cancer diagnosis you know just giving them the facts might not be
844. 2:08:58the best thing right so they'll give nuanced answers and and right so um the other thing where I think I think AI
845. 2:09:06might be incredibly powerful in medical services is we're coming we're coming into a crisis in medical well we've been
846. 2:09:14in a [ __ ] crisis in medical for you know the past couple of decades because of the insurance companies but
847. 2:09:20but we're coming into an acute crisis where we already have a nursing shortage right now and and the the Boomer
848. 2:09:27population is sort of Aging into you know sort of high medical needs and so we're going to have we're going to have
849. 2:09:33a caregiver shortage that's going to be pretty dramatic and so so imagine if if you take like the I showed earlier the like the
850. 2:09:44animated version of me so imagine being able to you're a physical therapist and and you sort of synthesize your voice
851. 2:09:51and you synthesize your face and you can create a version of yourself that can interact with your physical
852. 2:09:58therapy patients but they've got access to you 24 7 right and and you can now scale yourself right like as a human
853. 2:10:07being you can only talk with so many patients but if you virtualize yourself you can talk to many more patients and
854. 2:10:15they've got availability to you all the time and then again that Avatar will be smart enough to know is this Norm a
855. 2:10:23normal conversation or is there a problem here that I actually need to notify the the real physical therapist
856. 2:10:30on this and they can reach out to them so and and you know those interactions they might get paid for so so underpaid
857. 2:10:39um physical therapists might make more money by virtualizing themselves and things like that patients might get better care
858. 2:10:46um you know 24 7 care things like that and if it needs to escalate it can so I so I think it's going to be absolutely
859. 2:10:54massive and impactful on Medical Services I just think it's going to take a while until it's accepted

865. 2:11:46a topic and then answer like three questions on the topic so I said to him give me a topic and then I and then I
866. 2:11:51had him answer the three questions and I was typing them in and so I hit submit and and I said okay you should get an
867. 2:11:58email in 30 seconds or so and then we keep talking and he gets the email and he looks at it and then I see him do this and he goes
868. 2:12:07he goes did it just do this and I said yeah that's what it does like it it makes all that content he goes
869. 2:12:15I had no idea I I gotta go I gotta go and he hung up like it ended the conversation it like totally blew his
870. 2:12:24mind he like he had no idea that these things were as powerful as they were and it's like if you just kind of scratched
871. 2:12:29the surface with them and use them like a like a Google search engine you kind of get back shitty little answers and
872. 2:12:34you're like yeah whatever it's like it's like Google but a little fancier no it's way way way way way way way way way more
