Description

Kyle suggests that engaging small groups in hands-on exploration of AI tools can foster a culture of innovation and adaptability, allowing employees to learn through practical experience. The dialogue also touches on the necessity of addressing the fears and misconceptions surrounding AI, encouraging a balanced view that acknowledges both the potential benefits and the inherent flaws of these technologies. The session further explores various AI applications, emphasizing the significance of practical, user-friendly tools that can be easily adopted by individuals and organizations alike. Kyle highlights the value of "parlor tricks" — simple, engaging AI demonstrations that showcase the technology's capabilities without overwhelming users. This approach aims to demystify AI and encourage broader participation in its adoption, creating a community of learners who can share insights and experiences. By fostering an environment where curiosity and playfulness thrive, the channel seeks to empower viewers to embrace the rapidly changing world of AI technology. 3:09 good evening good people happy labor
3:11 [Music]
3:25 day I figur it' be pretty light tonight
3:27 there's 70 people in here already
3:29 welcome everyone if you're new here my
3:31 name is
3:33 Kyle Kyle Shannon that's what they call
3:37 me I am 1,000% unqualified to be hosting
3:42 this
3:44 [Laughter]
3:47 channel I ain't got [ __ ] to teach you
3:51 nothing but together we can discover
3:55 some [ __ ]
3:59 [Music]
4:12 [Music]
4:23 it's not simple to
4:26 say in most
4:28 days I don't recognize me that these
4:32 shoes and this apron that place and its
4:37 patrons I've taken more than I gave them
4:40 you know singing this song I was
4:42 flipping through Tik Tock and probably
4:44 because they listen to everything we do
4:46 here and because I sing this song
4:48 occasionally I was served up a whole
4:50 [ __ ] ton of Broadway stuff including
4:52 some Broadway actresses singing that
4:55 song
4:58 [Music]
5:02 made me realize what a piece of poop
5:04 mine is my version
5:06 is so here's a mediocre non- Bradway
5:10 version
5:11 of used to be
5:15 mine it's not simple to
5:20 say most days I don't recognize me with
5:26 these shoes and this apron that place
5:29 and it's
5:31 patrons have taken more than I gave them
5:34 you sing it along
5:35 champy it's not easy to
5:38 know I'm not anything like I used to be
5:44 oh it's true I was never attention sweet
5:49 Center has to remember that
5:52 girl she's in perfect but she
5:56 tries she is good but she
6:01 lies she is hard on
6:05 herself she is broken and won't ask for
6:10 him she is messy but she's
6:14 kind she's
6:17 lowely most of the time she is all of
6:20 this mixed up and baked and beautiful
6:25 pie she's gone but she used to be my
6:34 you're not what I ask for sometimes life
6:39 just slips in through the back door and
6:41 carves out a person makes you believe
6:45 it's all
6:47 true and now I've got
6:50 you you're not what I asked for if I'm
6:55 honest I know I would give it all back
6:58 for a chance to start over rewrite an
7:02 ending or
7:03 two for that girl that I knew be
7:08 Reckless Justice once
7:11 again all right whatever what the hell
7:14 ever we like your version thank you
7:16 Daisy
7:17 may I I remember nearly all of the words
7:21 and can hit nearly some of the
7:23 notes with an
7:27 accompaniment on the guitar that is what
7:30 what some would call
7:31 adequate
7:34 so long as we frame it up correctly it's
7:37 [ __ ]
7:38 brilliant just for
7:41 Giggles I shazamed this performance and
7:44 got no result
7:46 [Music]
7:47 exactly it's like when I do purple rain
7:50 when
7:51 it's that didn't mean wait uh
7:56 [Music]
8:01 I didn't mean to cause you in a
8:06 sorrow didn't mean c you a
8:10 [Music]
8:12 pain I don't think that one would she am
8:15 either my wife had a Kevin McAllister
8:18 moment when she saw that chat what chat
8:20 could do with her nursing notes
8:27 yeah I'm starting to have some CL
8:30 I I had a really good conversation today
8:32 with an Murphy and Cindy [ __ ] an an
8:35 called like an emergency meeting she's
8:37 like I I got to talk through some
8:38 [ __ ] so we talk through some [ __ ] and
8:41 then we just shot the [ __ ] for like an
8:43 hour
8:45 and what we we we kind of came to a
8:48 couple of conclusions and one of the
8:51 conclusions is AI is really frustrating
8:53 right now because as remarkable as the
8:56 tools are they're not ready for prime
8:58 time and so adoption is low awareness is
9:03 low people that are playing with AI like
9:08 holy [ __ ] this stuff's amazing it's
9:09 going to be amazing it's going to be
9:11 amazing the goingon to be part is kind
9:14 of the operative
9:15 word and so we were talking about how do
9:19 you talk about how do you
9:22 train how do you get people educated on
9:25 a thing that
9:28 is deeply profoundly powerful and
9:32 [Laughter]
9:34 [Music]
9:37 flawed what what we came up with what we
9:40 kind of stumbled
9:42 upon is in a lot of ways what this
9:45 channel
9:47 is but we were talking about it in the
9:50 context of
9:54 work how do you train up you know if
9:57 you're if you're Consulting with a
9:59 organization and they're like what
10:01 should we do with
10:04 AI where my head had been historically
10:07 is well you put together an AI counsil
10:09 and you got to do all this big [ __ ] you
10:11 got to like so here's your company today
10:13 here's your company completely
10:15 transformed with AI and you know get
10:17 yourself on this
10:19 trajectory the problem is we don't know
10:21 what that transformation looks like and
10:23 the tools right now you can't use the
10:26 tools to do that cuz they're not ready
10:28 for prime time they are some are some
10:31 are close some are close some are really
10:34 close some are not close but it's hard
10:36 to know they're just not quite there and
10:39 so what we kind of stumbled on was this
10:41 thing
10:44 that it's less important what you do
10:47 with the AI but what is important is
10:50 that you get people in groups doing it
10:55 together I thought that was really cool
10:58 that and that's kind what this channel
11:00 is right we kind of hang out in here we
11:02 collaborate in here
11:05 and so if you're going to take AI into
11:08 your company rather than saying you know
11:12 we've got to automate all these tasks
11:13 and everyone sort of goes off in their
11:15 separate Lanes what if you say why don't
11:18 we pick three tasks that are shitty
11:22 tasks at our job and why don't we have
11:25 like groups of five or six people get
11:29 together in a room room two hours a week
11:31 right we'll do it on Tuesdays and
11:33 Thursdays right after lunch or right
11:35 before lunch whatever it is and we'll
11:38 we'll experiment with different I AI
11:41 tools and you know one will use
11:42 perplexity and one will use Claude and
11:44 one will use Gemini and one will use
11:46 chat
11:48 GPT and what you actually do is you have
11:51 fun together and you like experiment you
11:54 see where they're broken and you see
11:55 where they're shitty and you might
11:57 discover it's actually usable
12:02 but what you're actually doing then is
12:04 you're training
12:06 people on how to behave rather than the
12:10 task of what to do because it's the
12:13 tasks of what to do that are going to
12:15 get automated and are going to be you
12:18 know constantly changing like it's like
12:21 anything we build right now as soon as
12:23 the next version of these tools come out
12:25 is all going to be useless
12:27 anyway and if everyone sort of goes off
12:30 into their own lanes and just does their
12:32 stuff you're not going to get this
12:36 experimental you know fluid adaptable
12:40 organism or series of organisms within
12:43 your company so anyway daughter's been
12:46 offered a Dubai gig holy [ __ ] we use GPT
12:49 and help help her do what makes her
12:55 happy oh and to help said say say wait
13:00 oh she should do what makes her happy
13:02 that's
13:04 awesome and does the is the Dubai gig
13:07 making her happy is she excited about
13:09 [Music]
13:12 that but that's really
13:16 [Music]
13:28 cool coming next week is parachute
13:32 instructor well that's kids for you they
13:35 just are going to do what they're going
13:36 to
13:38 do I'll never forget when I bought my
13:41 kids electric guitars and amplifiers I'm
13:44 like I'm the coolest dad on the planet
13:47 they're going to be [ __ ] rock
13:49 stars they could not have given less
13:54 [ __ ] about about cool dad rock guitars
14:00 I was very disappointed that was my
14:03 first lesson in your agenda has no
14:06 bearing on their
14:09 agenda I was wondering what Tom Tom
14:12 Arnold was up to there we go there we
14:15 go so there's there's our first Tom Tom
14:18 Arnold we should we if if we're doing
14:20 well tonight we should get a Rosie
14:22 odonnell looks like [ __ ] I didn't
14:25 realize Alec Baldwin had gotten this fat
14:28 [Music]
14:34 [Music]
14:44 oh thread thank you Brandon appreciate
14:47 it
14:57 [Music]
15:16 there was an off the rails AI Ma on Tik
15:20 Tock yesterday on Tik Tok live
15:24 yesterday The Irregular
15:27 swarmed in your absence it was wild
15:30 that's
15:33 cool what was the channel it's live
15:35 right now what's the
15:38 [Music]
15:56 channel oh it's okay Jim Ross is here we
15:59 can
16:01 [Music]
16:11 start yeah if there's some other Tik Tok
16:14 live on
16:16 AI it's they got nothing on this do they
16:19 have singing dogs no do they have a
16:22 golden button
16:24 you no do they have a smartass host
16:28 that's just like well whatever you got
16:31 your own live you miss your special over
16:33 there with your Tik Tock technology and
16:35 your actual Production Studio so
16:39 what it was in IR regulars earlier today
16:42 oh the live AI okay
16:44 [Music]
16:49 cool oh it was a live AI bot oh
16:53 [Music]
16:55 interesting oh is someone putting have
16:58 they ever B battle Dar and one
17:02 exactly we Dar the star was
17:06 humiliated
17:07 humiliated when she came in here and
17:09 said you want to
17:11 battle and I didn't know what battling
17:13 was cuz I'm old and I'm
17:15 [Music]
17:24 tired AI Oracle
17:28 watch roast the AI Oracle and that's
17:32 [Music]
17:33 interesting these things are going to be
17:35 novel until they're not you know do they
17:37 have an AI engineer from Google that
17:39 hates everything exactly we have P
17:42 modder in here that no matter what I do
17:45 what I say he [ __ ] hates
17:48 it which is how it should be if you
17:52 don't have a
17:54 pain in your community doesn't keep you
17:57 honest you know
17:59 cuz let's let's let's be
18:01 [Music]
18:03 clear I'd say we're about
18:07 5050 about 50% of the time I'm
18:11 spoton about 50% of the time pain is
18:16 Right P Pate has
18:19 successfully dubbed this channel chat
18:22 TMZ for all the wild speculation we
18:26 do and the talk of Alec Baldwin whenever
18:29 we get a
18:32 [Music]
18:46 chance you and I here all
18:51 alone Sunday morning hair at
18:56 home sky blue and the car is
19:00 strong it's
19:05 true then I open my eyes to a dream
19:09 realized in front of
19:11 [Music]
19:14 me if someone who is basically pumping
19:17 comments into chat
19:19 gbt and oh it's basically some popping
19:22 comments into chat gbt and text the
19:25 speech back to the live it's janky
19:28 [Music]
19:30 as soon as I get access to to Advanced
19:32 voice we're going to be doing some cool
19:34 [ __ ] with advanced voice but until then
19:36 it just doesn't
19:39 matter we
19:41 will we will accept now now what's
19:45 happening not much just hanging out and
19:47 trying to get everybody beautiful for
19:49 Labor Day I know are you are you putting
19:52 your serum on your scalp and keeping it
19:55 on the scalp yeah I I am but I I um I
19:58 didn't it today and then I didn't
20:00 because I don't read manuals the the
20:03 pink thing with the pink thing with the
20:06 little nubies on it so when I put the
20:08 drops on do I do the pink thing like to
20:10 massage my scalp or is that just a
20:11 general scalp massager it's a general
20:13 scalp massager I actually don't want you
20:15 to use it right after the serum because
20:16 it can take the serum off okay all right
20:18 so use your fingers but you know you
20:22 gotta you got to make sure cuz I know
20:24 the other night you were saying your
20:25 hair was going wonky you've got to lift
20:27 your hair up and tilt your head back and
20:29 drag that dropper otherwise you just end
20:31 up with a head and hair full of serum
20:34 you see and you want to drag it on your
20:35 scalp like this so lift your hair up and
20:37 you've got great hair by the way we want
20:38 to keep it um but you want to lift it
20:41 and you don't want to get the stuff in
20:43 your hair so by gently lifting tilting
20:46 your head and dragging The Dropper
20:48 you're not going to have your hair kind
20:49 of you know get wonky on you all right
20:53 so it's okay got it just put it in the
20:56 scalp and so I've just been doing it
20:58 right on the hairline and a little bit
20:59 forward of that I want it I want to go
21:01 back in there yes because what happens
21:03 with the receding hairline it's going to
21:05 just keep going back we want to make
21:07 sure that you keep the hair you have if
21:10 these follicles are dead I can't regrow
21:12 it if they're dormant we can't but at
21:15 the very minimum it's going to stop it
21:18 yeah well so what here's the deal so
21:21 we'll work with you we'll keep the hair
21:24 solid as it is and then AI is just going
21:26 to solve hair growth we'll we'll
21:28 regenerate our DNA and I'll be I'll be
21:30 like Carrot Top shortly well you know
21:33 what that's exactly what I said to
21:35 everybody my job is to go out and do the
21:36 science keep them up to date in the
21:38 meantime keep that follicle alive and
21:40 maintain because every day I was just
21:42 saying the science is changing yeah just
21:45 like my neighbor who has Parkinson's
21:47 he's getting an ex skeleton and I said
21:49 your job is to keep everything as
21:51 healthy as long as possible because this
21:53 is going to be solved in two to four
21:54 years yeah exactly wow that's so cool
21:56 that's cool how how you doing otherwise
21:58 anything cool with AI you're you're
22:00 thinking about these days um yeah I'm
22:03 doing a lot of different things I'm
22:04 actually building a chatbot and a friend
22:07 of mine who was a dentist built a
22:09 chatbot and he paid python coders and
22:11 I'm like who did you use CLA he's like
22:15 what and so I'm I'm using it and I'm I'm
22:19 loading in all the triology books all
22:22 the pub articles and making it
22:25 sophisticated enough so that even a a
22:27 user who wants to ask a basic question
22:29 to the user who wants the science yeah I
22:32 like it so here's here's a I was going
22:35 to talk about this tonight anyway but
22:36 I'll give you a little tip so Cindy and
22:38 I Cindy [ __ ] and I have been doing a lot
22:40 of stuff with digital
22:42 twins one of the things that you can do
22:44 as an additional data source to your Bot
22:48 so you put in all your scientific data
22:50 all your
22:51 PDFs record yourself for like 45 minutes
22:55 talking about the topics in your voice
22:59 and then take take the transcript of
23:01 your recording just talking like you
23:03 know extemporaneously and have it use
23:06 your voice for the tone and those other
23:09 things for the for the for the SC you
23:11 know for the data awesome so it's going
23:13 to be like me really answering the
23:15 question backed up by the data brilliant
23:18 right Isn't that cool it's awesome I
23:20 love AI there's another intervention
23:22 planned both at home and with the family
23:24 they're pulling me off I'm hiding in the
23:26 closet okay hi good to see you
23:30 [Laughter]
23:33 bye hey no there're trying to hold on
23:36 here how do I get you I'm I'm getting it
23:38 hold on here it keeps trying to make us
23:40 have a
23:41 [Laughter]
23:44 match Dar showed
23:46 [Laughter]
23:50 up exactly what I need thank you I don't
23:53 know what is exactly what you need but
23:55 sounds like you got
23:56 it will this prevent funky
24:03 hair oh man thank you Mel if you don't
24:06 know Mel is from ULU RX she has sent me
24:10 some some hair hair um retention product
24:15 so that so that my quadruple toue
24:19 remains somewhat in place
24:23 [Music]
24:40 um all
24:42 right so I figure what we'll do tonight
24:45 is just kind of shoot the [ __ ]
24:49 um I want to show a couple of things
24:53 um there's a fun New virtual try on
24:57 thing that it's just like it's just a
24:59 stupid parlor trick but it's kind of
25:01 cool um Kyle how are you doing oh how am
25:04 I doing long time no see hey Mr it I
25:07 doing well thank you very much for
25:09 asking it's a it's an official day off
25:12 so we're not officially
25:15 here cuz you can't be laboring on Labor
25:19 Day although I did go to the office
25:22 today I just did it to get out of the
25:25 house my kids had some friends over and
25:28 they were taking over and I'm like I
25:29 don't feel like dealing with that [ __ ]
25:31 I'm going to go pretend to
25:32 [Music]
25:53 work um I've also been thinking about
26:02 so I've got this I've got this page on
26:04 wait but you can still officially join
26:08 oh you can still officially join the
26:09 salon for free at the salon. yeah you
26:12 wait where's my I lost my
26:17 picture there it
26:19 is so if you're new here and you don't
26:22 know about the
26:24 salon go
26:27 to that UR the
26:31 salon.
26:34 and that's a really really powerful
26:37 Community that's
26:40 that this channel is in some ways an
26:43 extension of that like the people that
26:45 hang out here go there and actually
26:48 really connect with one another and do
26:50 projects together and have channels
26:51 together and all sorts of fun stuff um
26:55 it's quite a powerful Community
26:57 especially if you're into AI or curious
26:59 about
27:01 AI if you're one of those
27:03 people where you're the only person in
27:05 your life that's into this AI [ __ ] and
27:08 everyone else is like no I've decided to
27:11 take a stand against it this is this is
27:14 one of the things Ann Murphy and Cindy
27:16 and I were talking about was there's
27:18 someone that uh that an's working with
27:20 that's just like no I'm going to not be
27:25 a proponent of ai ai is awful and evil
27:28 and we will never use it never
27:31 never she was like what the [ __ ] do I do
27:33 with
27:34 this it's like you know you're going to
27:38 have that I mean you know the CEO from
27:41 procreate said we will never have ai
27:47 tools um see how long he
27:51 survives with that as more and more
27:53 tools get AI enabled um it's going to
27:56 seem increasingly antiquated to have to
27:59 learn to
28:01 draw I mean listen if you enjoy learning
28:04 to draw and drawing great but if like
28:07 me you would love to be able to draw but
28:11 that particular
28:12 Talent never showed
28:17 up generative AI makes me pretty [ __ ]
28:21 happy cuz I can see good design I can
28:24 see good art I just can't make it from
28:27 scratch but now I can
28:29 so
28:30 anyway if you got those people in your
28:33 life that are just
28:35 like you know
28:37 Sarah
28:39 Sarah Hey listen um we'd like to have
28:43 kind of an intervention here um yeah hey
28:48 um about this AI stuff yeah no I no I
28:51 know you're excited I know I no no I
28:53 know it's it's clear it's no we
28:56 understand that no we
28:59 if you could just go on ahead and you
29:00 know not talk about it when we're around
29:04 that'd be great that what that we're
29:07 your best friends yeah I well we know
29:09 and we just we want to be your best
29:11 friends without AI so if you get those
29:15 kind of conversations you need to come
29:17 hang out with us cuz cuz we're like you
29:21 we're not those other Naro well shitty
29:25 friends that are like stop talking about
29:26 AI
29:29 it's going to disrupt things we don't
29:31 want to be
29:34 disrupted I'm seeing that a lot I asked
29:37 them how well folks railed against the
29:39 internet are doing yeah EXA I mean this
29:42 is the thing it's one of the things I
29:44 was say I was saying to to an today
29:50 is one of
29:52 the one of the ways I like to
29:55 frame AI in this channel is that I'm
30:00 personally excited about it I'm
30:03 personally optimistic about it I am also
30:06 acutely aware that there are major
30:08 [ __ ] issues with it it hallucinates
30:11 it's been trained on you know data that
30:14 it shouldn't have been
30:17 um copyright and attribution and
30:19 compensation are woefully inadequate
30:22 like there there are a bunch of issues
30:23 with
30:25 it whether you [ __ ] love AI or
30:29 [ __ ] hate AI or are somewhere in the
30:31 middle like you know most reasonable
30:34 people you can see both
30:37 sides it's not only coming it's
30:40 here it's here and getting better
30:45 regularly so this channel is not about
30:48 is it good or bad this channel is about
30:51 okay assuming it's coming what are we
30:54 going to do about
30:55 it advance notice to cover your keyboard
30:58 thank
31:00 you good
31:03 call I've got my mods are amazing they
31:07 they know they know all the [ __ ] I'm bad
31:11 at
31:14 um but but this stuff's coming whether
31:17 you want it or
31:18 not and then the question
31:22 is are you going to be on the sidelines
31:25 like this just watching it go
31:29 are you going to be in the game and this
31:30 Channel's about being in the game My
31:33 illness has spread to my uncle he told
31:35 everyone at his golf club that they need
31:37 to hire me good so Source Camp Source
31:41 Camp is a longtime AI Optimist and
31:43 evangelist and she is trying
31:46 to um make the world a safer place for
31:49 AI and get people to understand what's
31:52 coming what's here so Source Camp I
31:54 don't know if you heard me earlier
31:55 talking about this idea of um small
31:58 groups trying to solve shitty low-level
32:02 tasks as little groups rather than
32:05 putting together AI councils that are
32:07 going to do our big AI strategy for the
32:09 year I I feel
32:11 like while these tools are still
32:14 janky lower the bar on expectations
32:17 about how transformative they're going
32:19 to be for your business and just get
32:22 small groups within
32:24 organizations using AI on a regular
32:26 basis and then they may get excited they
32:30 may discover something they may do
32:33 something that propels the business
32:35 forward but if they don't it's not a
32:38 disappointment right I was one of those
32:40 hater turn lovers thanks to this channel
32:42 oh that's amazing pavin thank you very
32:44 much I you know what pavin I remember
32:46 that when you first came in you were you
32:49 were a little chip on your shoulder
32:51 right you were had a little bit of anger
32:52 a little bit of fear something like that
32:54 I remember that and and we just we
32:56 talked through it and listen
32:59 I one of the one of the values of the
33:03 salon we we've got um we've got five
33:07 values um that that we Embrace curiosity
33:13 playfulness
33:15 generosity adap uh
33:18 generosity
33:21 um oh I forget them now hang
33:25 on they must not be good values can't
33:28 remember them except we we um we changed
33:32 we uh we Consolidated them so I can't
33:34 remember uh curiosity play playfulness
33:38 empathy bravery and generosity um but
33:41 the empathy
33:42 one why that's an important value why
33:45 why that one is is so important to the
33:49 salon
33:51 is as exciting as this AI stuff is it is
33:55 actually quite scary right if if you're
33:58 a copywriter the first time you see chat
34:01 GPT write something as good or better
34:05 than you in in a second um it's kind of
34:10 existential right if you're an artist
34:13 and you're like it's stealing everyone's
34:15 art and you don't know anything about it
34:18 you're like ah it's theft and it's
34:20 terrifying so like the fact that people
34:22 are afraid the fact that people are
34:24 angry is actually to be expected anytime
34:28 time you've got a new transformative
34:30 technology in history
34:33 anytime people resist it they're afraid
34:36 of it they're angry about it sometimes
34:39 historically there have been riots about
34:41 it
34:46 um and
34:50 so understanding that
34:52 fear and and welcoming people in who are
34:56 afraid who might be Ang angry who might
34:59 not understand it and still just sitting
35:01 in yeah I like I get what you're talking
35:03 about I get why you're afraid I get why
35:05 you're pissed off
35:10 and all that emotion aside this
35:14 technology isn't going anywhere in fact
35:16 it's getting better and better and
35:19 better and so you have two choices like
35:21 the choices are quite simple you cross
35:24 your arms and you sit on the sidelines
35:26 and you're like [ __ ] you AI and [ __ ] you
35:29 people who like it that is a choice and
35:33 and listen if you get educated about Ai
35:36 and try all these tools and then choose
35:38 to sit on the sidelines and go [ __ ] it
35:40 I'm sitting this one out I completely
35:42 respect
35:44 that the thing that makes me [ __ ]
35:46 nuts is people who haven't played with
35:50 it why is
35:52 playfulness of value of the
35:55 salon why why is that
36:00 why is that a
36:07 value because
36:13 because if if you try to master these
36:15 tools right now they're unmasterable cuz
36:18 they're
36:21 unpredictable with AI our computers
36:23 don't behave like our computers have
36:25 behaved historically historically the
36:28 way computers work is they compute you
36:31 take data source a and data source B and
36:36 some algorithms or formulas in the
36:38 middle and you process them and out
36:41 comes an output a predictable consistent
36:44 output that's how computers work it's
36:47 they
36:48 compute it's what they've always
36:51 done not so with generative AI you take
36:56 input a and input B and out squirts a
36:59 Shakespearean poem about sort of the
37:02 concepts in
37:04 there it's
37:06 like it's
37:09 bizarre it's freaky it hallucinates it's
37:16 creative
37:18 so yeah so
37:20 so this channel is about kind of hanging
37:23 out in the
37:26 uncomfortableness that that that this is
37:28 and
37:30 it's I think so September 12th if you if
37:34 you're new here markdown September
37:37 12th there's a prime time Oprah special
37:42 that I'm going to live stream because I
37:44 think it's going to be important I and
37:46 I'm more convinced now than ever that I
37:49 found out there's two other additional
37:51 guests on the show that night so Oprah
37:55 is interviewing so this is this is like
37:58 the the geek version of the uh you know
38:02 Megan Markle and what's his name Prince
38:04 Harry interview so this is Sam Alman and
38:08 Bill
38:09 Gates being interviewed by Oprah as well
38:13 as Christopher
38:16 Ray from the from the
38:19 FBI and Maris brownley is it brownley
38:23 right is it brownley
38:31 mares yeah
38:33 brownley if you don't know Maris
38:35 brownley he's the
38:37 dude he used to like build cyber trucks
38:42 he does tech reviews and [ __ ] like
38:44 that he's got like some God awful 19
38:47 million subscribers on on
38:51 YouTube so you've got a consumer Tech
38:54 guy you've got Christopher Ray the head
38:56 of the the
38:58 FBI FBI or CIA hang on let me make sure
39:02 I'm not being a total [ __ ]
39:16 [ __ ] fbi.gov
39:20 the eighth
39:24 director and you've got Bill Gates who
39:27 found Microsoft and it's got the Gates
39:30 Foundation and you've got Sam
39:34 Alman so the only thing I can
39:37 think that would make sense so so
39:39 there's a couple other couple other
39:41 things that are backdrops to this
39:45 conversation maybe AI is really good at
39:47 certain things but not everything yeah
39:49 that's that's absolutely where it is
39:51 right now and that's I think that's the
39:52 art of AI in
39:54 2024 is figure out where the boundaries
39:57 are of what AI is good at that's
39:59 relevant to
40:01 you and then the [ __ ] that it's not good
40:03 at just wait if it's good at [ __ ] great
40:06 use it if it's bad around the boundaries
40:09 figure out what those boundaries are and
40:10 just work within the place in the
40:17 middle so so here's the only thing I can
40:20 really put together as chat TMZ
40:24 speculation about the Oprah um event
40:28 is they're going to talk about a new
40:31 model they're going to talk about what's
40:32 coming now I don't know if they're going
40:34 to launch it I think it would be kind of
40:36 foolish to have a big Oprah thing and
40:39 not have something available but you
40:41 know they they've been promising [ __ ]
40:43 for 6 months now and not not delivering
40:45 anything so anything's possible so I
40:48 think they're going to talk about a new
40:50 model I think Bill Gates gives it The
40:53 credibility and the the perspective of
40:57 this is a big [ __ ] deal right I you
41:00 know I ushered in the PC Revolution and
41:04 when we decided to embrace the internet
41:06 we completely transformed you know the
41:09 internet and the adoption of
41:11 it um so I think it makes sense to have
41:14 him there Christopher Ray that one's
41:16 interesting I assume that the message
41:18 from him
41:20 is we've checked it things are safe
41:23 you're going to be okay
41:28 um or if we don't get our [ __ ] together
41:32 other people are from other countries
41:33 are doing this and they're going to come
41:34 [ __ ] us up so we got to get moving so
41:37 one of those two messages and then Maris
41:39 brownley I think is going to be like
41:42 yeah this is
41:44 cool like I mean his job is either to
41:47 give things a thumbs up or a thumbs down
41:48 in
41:50 Tech and
41:52 so
41:54 so my chat T TMZ specul ation about the
41:58 Oprah thing is that it is a very
42:02 deliberate
42:05 education to the 47% of people who
42:08 haven't even heard of chat
42:10 GPT to let them know that what's coming
42:12 is significant and they should pay
42:14 attention to
42:15 it um you know because otherwise it
42:19 would be it would be a tech reporter
42:22 right or it would be you know CNET or
42:25 you know it would be something more
42:29 focused from an audience perspective
42:31 they're going for a broad audience here
42:33 so so why I assume cuz something new is
42:38 coming but we'll
42:40 see it could just be they're talking
42:42 about you know Sam alman's breakfast
42:45 regimen and Bill Gates's workout
42:48 routine and Christopher Ray talking
42:51 about um the AI is stealing from all of
42:54 us and mares brownley giving the
42:57 cybertruck a shitty review it could just
43:00 be
43:01 random
43:03 so and you get HGI and you get AGI and
43:07 you get AGI exactly I think this is I
43:12 think this is essentially you get
43:16 AGI I mean this could be okay so
43:21 important backdrop if you don't know
43:25 this Microsoft invested Ed 10 billion or
43:29 11 billion they invested 1 billion and
43:31 then they did 10 billion I was never
43:33 clear if it was on top of the 1 billion
43:35 or in you know including the 1 billion
43:38 but anyway they invested a [ __ ] ton of
43:40 money largely in the form of cloud
43:45 services to open AI for 49% of the
43:48 company but in their
43:52 agreement it states that when
43:56 AI when open
43:58 AI achieves AGI or artificial general
44:03 intelligence the commercial agreement
44:06 between open Ai and Microsoft is
44:10 severed for for that product I they I
44:13 assume they can still use all the [ __ ]
44:14 that's not AGI but once open AI hits AGI
44:18 artificial general
44:20 intelligence Microsoft no longer has
44:24 rights to that like from commercially
44:28 so it's a it's a it's a big turning
44:30 point it's a big inflection point so it
44:33 is possible that this opah thing is the
44:36 announcement that open AI has achieved
44:39 AGI but again also
44:43 possible they talk about the fact that
44:45 Sam likes brown sugar and maple oatmeal
44:48 better than Apple and cinnamon apple
44:51 spice and cinnamon
44:59 we don't know oh man but if they're not
45:03 inclined to find out about it after all
45:06 the hype why watch
45:08 Oprah who knows I don't know I I
45:10 honestly don't know but that's why we're
45:12 that's we're GNA live stream it so
45:14 here's what I can promise you if it's
45:16 some big
45:17 deal we'll be there watching it together
45:20 if it's not then we'll make fun of it
45:28 oh man alive all
45:30 right so let's go play with some
45:34 things Christopher Ray good day to you
45:38 sir good
45:40 day um so this thing so there's
45:45 me it's a bad I was that head shot God
45:50 God I look awful that head shot I was at
45:53 some uh event like some Pharma event I
45:57 don't know five years ago something like
45:59 that and they had one of those free free
46:02 head shot you know they had like the
46:04 whole Booth set up you can get your free
46:06 head shot so I look exhausted and like
46:10 you know overly I don't know tan which I
46:13 wasn't it's just they lighting but
46:16 anyway so what this thing this is called
46:18 the colors virtual Tryon so you take you
46:21 you upload a photo of yourself or
46:23 whoever and then you upload a piece of
46:25 fashion and then it turns it
46:28 into you in a slightly less douchy
46:33 jacket so here I'll show you I'll show
46:35 you how it works I I went and got some
46:37 other fashion it's not perfect but it's
46:40 it's really fascinating what it does so
46:43 like let's see is it that one didn't
46:46 work well this one did work well so so
46:50 I'm I'm going to open up that piece of
46:53 fashion and then and then what you do is
46:55 you come over here and you run it
46:59 it takes 35
47:01 seconds and it basically just interprets
47:04 that onto that just like
47:08 AI one of the things that I've been
47:12 trying to get my head around on the on
47:14 the AI Salon I've got a page
47:17 of if you want to get started with AI
47:20 where do you start and it used to be a
47:23 short list of like three or four to look
47:25 at that look at that come on
47:27 are you kidding me [ __ ]
47:30 gorgeous uh the answer to the question
47:32 is uh no I've never modeled
47:35 professionally um but
47:38 yeah oh yeah come on come on James Dean
47:43 good
47:45 Lord Tom Arnold looks like
47:48 [ __ ] why is he wearing that
47:55 jacket um the link to this if you want
47:58 to go play with it I put it in both the
48:00 Irregulars
48:02 Channel as well as um the water cooler
48:07 chat so if you go
48:11 to you go to there and click join our
48:14 community it'll pop you over to the
48:19 salon and you can read
48:21 about how we think about Ai and the
48:25 journey for getting AI literate you can
48:27 introduce yourself learn about our
48:29 values which I just talked about Watch
48:31 past
48:32 meetings um RSVP for the next event
48:36 which is tomorrow by the way and then in
48:39 water cooler
48:41 chat let's see do I have it in
48:45 here looks like there's a bunch of other
48:47 [ __ ] in there I thought I put it in here
48:48 did I not put it in
48:54 here maybe I didn't where did I put
48:58 it I thought I put it in water
49:12 cooler the original head shot looks like
49:15 it was Photoshopped it wasn't that's how
49:17 it came out of the camera I'm just that
49:19 beautiful sorry sorry man genetics is
49:22 rough like sure I got the super model
49:26 good looks anyway if you go to the AI
49:29 Irregulars
49:31 Channel there's a link to the colors
49:33 virtual try on that thing I just
49:39 showed that depends on what it
49:42 is is that an Andy Warhol jacket I don't
49:45 know might be I didn't here's what I did
49:48 I went to I went to Google this is the
49:51 only time I use Google anymore I went to
49:53 Google and I typed in men's fashion and
49:58 then I went to images and then I just
50:01 scrolled and started clicking on things
50:03 and seeing what showed up and was
50:15 interesting what I like about this tool
50:18 right now so so here's here's a new
50:20 philosophy let me show you
50:22 something oh wait [ __ ] I got
50:25 to what event overview
50:29 please oh for tomorrow so
50:32 tomorrow the AI Salon event is called AI
50:37 Salon or the the salon
50:39 presents and the salon presents is
50:44 um the first Tuesday of every month we
50:47 bring in a speaker and the speaker
50:51 tomorrow let me go find the info about
50:54 it
50:58 [Music]
51:01 Rick mcau a journey through Ai and
51:04 artistic Innovation so so Rick is a is a
51:07 professor at is it University of
51:23 Florida he's at Broward College
51:29 senior professor of graphic design so
51:31 he's going to talk about Ai and video
51:33 and all sorts of stuff like that so
51:34 really interesting guy he's he's he's
51:36 been a he's been a a participant in AI
51:38 Salon meetings for a long long time um
51:41 and really generous guy has a lot going
51:43 on so this is going to be really
51:45 exciting Brit this tool is
51:48 insane I didn't know wait wait I look
51:52 like this goo so much in love with
51:55 myself now which
51:57 which tool are you talking about bit
51:59 this tool is insane I don't know what
52:02 tool you're talking about so anyway so
52:05 so yeah so the salon presents is
52:09 tomorrow um from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
52:12 mountain time so 7 to9
52:16 Eastern and 4 to 6 Pacific and you can
52:21 register on the
52:25 salon all right
52:29 so that's that so let me let me show you
52:31 something should there's a really simple
52:33 sort of six step get started thing which
52:37 is like you know check out what we're
52:38 about introduce yourself check out our
52:41 values Watch past meetings if you want
52:43 to do that RSB VP for the next event and
52:45 jump into the water cooler chat and
52:47 share [ __ ] um and water cooler is just
52:50 like a free-for-all you can talk about
52:51 anything that's you know relevant you
52:54 can't spam any of you that come in there
52:57 and spam or [ __ ] boot your ass but
53:00 if you come in there and are talking
53:02 about being an AI Optimist bring it on
53:06 um so one of the other areas if you if
53:08 you go past that little six you know six
53:11 steps to get started under the Community
53:14 section there's a page that I maintain
53:16 called play first and AI tools and I
53:18 haven't updated this since the end of
53:22 May largely because I don't quite know
53:25 what to do so here's the
53:30 challenge this list used to have three
53:33 tools on it now it is this NeverEnding
53:37 list it starts with chat GPT there's
53:40 then eight different large language
53:41 models there are 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 eight
53:46 image generation models and probably
53:48 more now there are 1 2 3 four five five
53:52 video models there are definitely more
53:54 of those now there are a [ __ ] ton of
53:56 audio a right it's just it's it's
53:58 completely
54:01 overwhelming so I need to figure out a
54:04 way
54:05 to change this up somehow so it's not
54:09 overwhelming because the whole point of
54:10 this list was if you just want to get
54:12 started where do you [ __ ]
54:15 start and so an idea that I had over the
54:18 weekend
54:20 was maybe there's a category of very
54:24 simple tools like I would put this
54:29 you know take a picture of you add some
54:32 fashion end up with a funny picture of
54:34 you this to me is a very simple tool
54:38 that oh God damn it Tik Tock with your
54:41 stupid [ __ ] puzzle game
54:44 really
54:46 um this is really simple right and it's
54:49 and it's a really good demonstr it's a
54:51 very good what we call parlor
54:53 trick and so I think what I might do is
54:56 is is to is to curate maybe five tools
55:01 that are super
55:03 simple as here's where to get started
55:05 and like one of them will be sunno or
55:08 yio like go make a song right and I
55:11 think what I'll do is I'll even include
55:12 like sample prompts maybe even mad libs
55:15 I don't know if you're in here Danielle
55:16 but you know maybe you can help me write
55:18 you know Mad Libs prompts like go to
55:20 this tool and you know do this and go to
55:23 this tool and put in this some version
55:25 of this prompt and go to this tool
55:28 so that in very short order if you know
55:32 nothing about AI like like let me give
55:34 you a good example wait the website I
55:36 shared playground.com is incredibly
55:38 simple and fun okay I'll check it out
55:40 I'll I'll do that tonight
55:44 um but
55:47 I what what's happened is
55:50 that a lot of the AI tools have gotten
55:53 so big and so sophisticated and so so
55:58 powerful that you can't really just go
56:01 dick around with them like LTX Studio
56:04 while it's janky is is going to be a
56:07 really powerful tool but it's a really
56:10 complicated concept to get your head
56:12 around chat GPT as simple as it is has
56:15 got like eight
56:17 different modules in it that that all do
56:21 these different things and and to get
56:24 your head around all of what it can do
56:27 is is like like you need a a a
56:30 university class just to get your head
56:31 around it and so I think what I'm going
56:34 to shift to is if you just want to get
56:37 started go have fun go go take a picture
56:41 of yourself and turn yourself into a
56:44 fashion a fashion
56:48 icon um you know go make a song go go
56:52 you know go do this thing at chat GPT
56:55 but it's like one specific thing that
56:57 you know is really powerful go to
56:59 ideogram and and type in you know
57:02 there's a page in a typewriter and it's
57:04 got the following text on it and write
57:06 the actually in fact let's go do that
57:08 right now let's go to
57:12 ideogram id.
57:15 a and ideogram is really good at text so
57:18 let's say back to home what's going on
57:21 here do I need to log in I might
57:27 notifications my
57:29 images I'm in
57:32 okay something went wrong back to home
57:34 what the hell's going on
57:40 here is it
57:46 broken yeah something's broken with IDR
57:59 maybe it's broken well that's that
58:03 sucks all right so let's go to we'll go
58:05 to grock but see grock's not
58:11 free but grock assuming it were free
58:15 which it's not I could type in
58:20 here a photograph of a
58:25 typewriter with a sheet of paper coming
58:28 out of it that
58:36 reads today is the first
58:42 day today is the first day of the last
58:47 day of the day that you thought would be
58:49 the next day in a string of days you
58:53 thought would never come but are now be
58:56 behind you in the rearview mirror and
58:59 suddenly today feels more important than
59:02 all the other days because you just
59:05 never know if today is the
59:07 day or just another yesterday
59:12 period that's a that's a famous quote
59:15 from um a philosopher
59:18 named Stucky
59:29 [Music]
59:35 today is the first day of the bass last
59:39 day that you thought will be the next
59:43 day in a string of w
59:47 days id never come by loom in throw your
59:53 this the second eway
59:56 and cring QA Mo row important important
1:00:03 mirror P's of karma you never know if
1:00:08 today day or just another
1:00:12 yesterday see it's perfect there's not
1:00:15 even a typo in it it's
1:00:22 remarkable if you want hell on Earth try
1:00:25 to get one of these large language
1:00:26 models to actually do something with no
1:00:29 typos in
1:00:32 it you just got one letter you need to
1:00:35 fix the letter you can spend days trying
1:00:37 to get it to fix the letter or you can
1:00:39 just go to photoshop and fix it in three
1:00:45 minutes oh
1:00:47 man that jacket looks like someone
1:00:49 hybridized silkworm with green
1:00:51 fluorescent protein Gene yeah it's
1:00:53 pretty cool um I see President of signal
1:00:56 still yapping about the Gen AI bubble if
1:00:59 this doesn't convince people of the
1:01:00 power of AI nothing will exactly Pate
1:01:03 well that's that's kind of my point is
1:01:05 like where where I've where I've shifted
1:01:07 where I am right now
1:01:09 is this is this is in the neighborhood
1:01:12 of embrace the Jank that that these
1:01:14 tools all of these tools right now are
1:01:17 not quite ready for prime time they're
1:01:19 really
1:01:20 close and with a lot of human in the
1:01:23 loop they're really close right you can
1:01:25 you can you you can you know you can
1:01:27 absolutely accelerate your work and do
1:01:29 amazing stuff but they still require a
1:01:32 lot of
1:01:33 handholding and because the tools are
1:01:35 getting more sophisticated and more
1:01:38 complicated it's really hard to say hey
1:01:41 go learn this tool or go learn that tool
1:01:44 so I think I think where I'm going to
1:01:46 where I'm going to shift is to get
1:01:47 started here are five parlor tricks that
1:01:50 will impress your friends and you know
1:01:52 your friends and enemies and and make AI
1:01:54 seem less scary um and then maybe I'll
1:01:58 have sort of a comprehensive list of
1:02:00 here's recommended things if you want to
1:02:01 dig deeper I think that's where I'm
1:02:03 going to go with it um Let me let me
1:02:05 show you another thing that I'm a fan of
1:02:07 I'm pissed off that ideogram didn't work
1:02:09 I'm going to go to um Deco
1:02:12 here this one I've been showing a lot
1:02:14 lately but again I think this this
1:02:17 starts to be one of those tools where
1:02:21 when
1:02:22 people one of the one of the
1:02:24 misconceptions about AI right now is
1:02:27 that you have to be super technical to
1:02:29 be able to do it and that was true up
1:02:32 until gen gen AI images and chat GPT and
1:02:37 now you don't have to be okay
1:02:39 so Deco here is a quick image generation
1:02:43 tool like quick meaning as you're typing
1:02:46 a prompt it's generating images in fact
1:02:48 Let Me Go show you how that
1:02:50 works so here I am I'm going to type in
1:02:55 um let's see
1:03:00 a
1:03:05 biscuit
1:03:12 Factory um
1:03:15 spews
1:03:17 flour
1:03:19 at dawn so as I'm writing the prompt
1:03:23 it's generating images
1:03:27 and then there there's just a pile of
1:03:28 them so it's using a technology called
1:03:31 sdxl which is an open- Source model
1:03:33 sitting underneath this and it just
1:03:35 really really quickly generates images
1:03:38 okay so that's that's kind of what it
1:03:40 does but if you go to the explore tab at
1:03:43 the top and where we are is we're at
1:03:45 deoh here. a/
1:03:48 exlore and so this is just like uh like
1:03:51 any other image site you've seen right
1:03:54 where you know these are images people
1:03:56 have made and they're squirting down the
1:03:58 page you're like okay that's cool I've
1:03:59 seen this
1:04:01 before but what you probably don't know
1:04:04 and couldn't
1:04:06 know with if you're not paying attention
1:04:09 to this [ __ ] is that every one of these
1:04:11 images is being
1:04:14 generated while we're watching them
1:04:16 these are all original images that have
1:04:17 never existed before and any one of
1:04:20 these images I can select one I'm going
1:04:24 to try to get one that's not some you
1:04:27 know hot chicky chick so I'm going to
1:04:29 try not to get booted off off uh Tik Tok
1:04:33 because I accidentally generated
1:04:35 something so I can pick this image I go
1:04:37 oh that's a cool image I'm going to
1:04:39 create now what's called a
1:04:41 station which is a whole Channel That's
1:04:44 based on this image and so if I click
1:04:46 this create station button it'll do its
1:04:52 thing and then oh yeah see it's going to
1:04:54 do more hot ch
1:04:57 cuz cuz people people have got to just
1:05:01 stop it with the with the hot chick
1:05:04 prompting come on people here let's do a
1:05:06 house please tell me this one is going
1:05:08 to generate something other than you
1:05:11 know row and rows of of steamy hot
1:05:14 chicks there's more steamy hot chicks
1:05:16 all right Kyle's gonna get
1:05:18 booted come on come on here's a puppy
1:05:21 here's a wizard in the woods let's can
1:05:24 this not be hot witches Halloween could
1:05:27 it please be not hot witches at
1:05:29 Halloween okay I think we're good okay
1:05:31 look see we got fantasy art that you
1:05:35 know an occasional Hot Chicken fantasy
1:05:37 art but fantasy
1:05:43 art and so every one of these images we
1:05:47 see is being generated right now with no
1:05:50 promps and these are all original images
1:05:53 I can take any one of these I could like
1:05:56 if I like this fire one I could save
1:05:58 this I could upscale it I'm like oo
1:06:00 there's a wizard one I like all right we
1:06:01 like that wizard he's
1:06:05 cool I can turn this into a video I can
1:06:08 upscale it I can take this out and put
1:06:10 it in something like Runway ML and turn
1:06:12 it into a
1:06:15 movie so for people that think AI you've
1:06:18 got to learn prompt engineering you got
1:06:20 to be a prompt engineer that's so
1:06:22 [ __ ]
1:06:23 intimidating that phrase that term
1:06:27 if if you want to generate AI
1:06:30 applications learning prompt engineering
1:06:32 is probably not a bad idea but if you
1:06:34 want to make some cool pictures
1:06:36 quick I don't there's no there's no
1:06:40 needing to do any of that in fact I'm
1:06:42 going to go to a save Channel this is
1:06:45 one of my
1:06:46 favorites of Steampunk fish that I
1:06:52 made and this that's a cool one look at
1:06:55 that
1:07:05 still put a hot chick in
1:07:10 there all of these are orig original
1:07:14 we're just kind of swimming in what they
1:07:15 call the latent
1:07:17 space it's just it's just making up
1:07:20 images out of whatever it's been trained
1:07:22 on sort of filtered through this one
1:07:24 image this one prime
1:07:26 prompt in however their algorithm works
1:07:29 and it's just generating all this stuff
1:07:31 so crazy so anyway so that's where I
1:07:33 think I'm going Toe with that with that
1:07:35 get started page is actually here's some
1:07:37 [ __ ] that will blow people's
1:07:41 minds I think I think that's the way to
1:07:46 go and then if you get excited about
1:07:49 that then you can dig into some of the
1:07:51 tools so and like even on the the large
1:07:55 language model
1:07:56 like rather than go to chat
1:08:01 GPT first you know what I might do is go
1:08:04 to something like
1:08:14 perplexity and I might have people go to
1:08:18 add a
1:08:20 page and it says what's your page about
1:08:23 and let's say the
1:08:27 history of
1:08:33 Steampunk
1:08:35 so if I type in the history of
1:08:38 Steampunk into this create a new page on
1:08:43 perplexity what it's actually about to
1:08:46 do is write an original
1:08:51 article researched with
1:08:54 citations of the articles that it's
1:08:57 using like the sources that it's using
1:09:00 to write this
1:09:01 article Jules Vern's influence on
1:09:03 steampunk Victorian era technology
1:09:07 inspiration KW Jeter and the term
1:09:13 steampunk and so every one of these
1:09:16 little
1:09:21 um things I can add media to this
1:09:26 I can edit this and say you know what
1:09:31 this should be a
1:09:35 table let's
1:09:37 see and so what that's going to do is
1:09:40 it's going to rewrite this
1:09:43 section to now put a table in
1:09:46 here and then I'm going to add some
1:09:48 media to this
1:09:52 section and then I'm going to add a
1:09:54 section um
1:09:57 let's see uh
1:10:00 steam punk
1:10:03 imagery created
1:10:06 with
1:10:08 AI hit plus and now it's going to go
1:10:11 research that and every one of these
1:10:13 paragraphs has
1:10:15 sources so down here at the bottom it
1:10:18 has
1:10:20 sources and then it did something
1:10:24 here great there's some AI steampunky
1:10:27 looking things all right great love my
1:10:29 article I can now publish this I just go
1:10:32 publish bang
1:10:34 done so let's see where do
1:10:38 I get the URL copy link right there I'm
1:10:42 going to go back over to the
1:10:45 AI Salon the salon we call
1:10:49 it and I'm going to go to AI Irregulars
1:10:52 Channel and I'm going to paste this in
1:10:54 here
1:10:58 oh and it didn't it didn't get the uh
1:11:00 the image so we'll
1:11:04 go where's my perplexity hang on
1:11:08 History
1:11:12 perplexity steampunk through time we'll
1:11:16 do a little screenshot
1:11:30 beautiful then we'll go back to the
1:11:34 cello we're going to close that image
1:11:37 we're going to add the image we just
1:11:44 screenshotted there was a problem
1:11:46 uploading please please refresh and try
1:11:50 again is that bigger than 25 megabytes
1:11:54 no
1:11:57 what's up with
1:11:59 this I need to
1:12:17 reload there we
1:12:21 go there's our image there's our URL
1:12:25 boom
1:12:26 so if you go
1:12:28 to the regulars Channel you can know go
1:12:32 read my
1:12:34 article on my well researched article
1:12:37 with citations on the history of
1:12:40 Steampunk apparently these articles that
1:12:43 are written like this are um ranking
1:12:46 really well on
1:12:47 Google because they're well sourced
1:12:51 there's lots of back backlinks to you
1:12:54 know pages that prob have big you know
1:12:57 traffic numbers on them and they're well
1:13:00 written so I think I think a series of
1:13:05 very simple parlor tricks is going to be
1:13:08 is going to be my new how to get started
1:13:10 with
1:13:11 AI and then I think the other thing is
1:13:14 do it with other
1:13:16 people don't do it alone do it with
1:13:19 other people because how Ann Murphy
1:13:22 approaches this stuff and how I approach
1:13:24 it are going to be different how C [ __ ]
1:13:26 you know thinks about this and how I do
1:13:28 are going to be different if the three
1:13:29 of us you know get together well why
1:13:32 don't you try this why don't you try
1:13:34 that why don't you try oh here's how I
1:13:35 would do this oh my God I never would
1:13:36 have thought of
1:13:39 that
1:13:45 right what do you think think that's a
1:13:48 good
1:13:52 approach I don't know man I don't know
1:13:54 what to do anymore there's too much
1:14:01 [ __ ] oh let's see playground what is it
1:14:03 playground.com or
1:14:06 a
1:14:08 playground.com
1:14:11 I'm looking for a man in finance trust
1:14:14 fun 65 BL
1:14:17 eyes um playground.com
1:14:27 design like a pro oh I saw this I think
1:14:29 I played with it a little
1:14:31 bit so let's see let's make a
1:14:38 sticker
1:14:42 create
1:14:44 sticker all right how do you create it
1:14:46 oh you just start with one of
1:14:48 these so there's think
1:14:52 positive sign up to edit continue with
1:14:57 Google switch the screen please why
1:15:00 Brandon you don't want to look up my
1:15:04 nose so
1:15:06 rude I'm trying to be intimate with the
1:15:09 channel and you're all like can we
1:15:11 please see what you're looking at there
1:15:13 loser do it with other people but make
1:15:16 sure to get
1:15:18 consent did someone say parlor tricks I
1:15:22 so Source Camp I'm totally going I I'm
1:15:25 totally going parlor tricks on how to
1:15:27 get started with AI but but really
1:15:30 simple tools like ideogram for images um
1:15:33 not not the complicated ones like not
1:15:36 Leonardo not LTX Studios right
1:15:40 just like one like decco here SL explore
1:15:45 rightclick create station like really
1:15:48 simple [ __ ] because everything's too
1:15:50 complicated now um okay let's say we're
1:15:54 going to say
1:15:56 embrace the
1:15:59 Jank
1:16:05 [Applause]
1:16:11 create think positive embrace the Jank
1:16:15 Bob tell him what he's
1:16:18 W talk to it like a text message
1:16:22 Kyle wait what
1:16:26 I think that just made think positive
1:16:28 more janky do I not know how to use this
1:16:32 Danielle this is like an old man trying
1:16:34 to use a new tool I don't get it what am
1:16:37 I supposed to
1:16:38 [Laughter]
1:16:46 do he's old he's old I tell
1:16:49 you let's see how do I get out of here I
1:16:52 can't go
1:16:54 back all right this is shitty shitty
1:17:02 interface don't forget the free year of
1:17:05 perplexity if you have exfinity rewards
1:17:08 you
1:17:08 get free claw wow
1:17:14 cool oh you don't you get a free year of
1:17:16 perplexity if you have exfinity rewards
1:17:19 I got my free year of perplexity was it
1:17:22 perplexity or Claud perplexity I got my
1:17:25 free year of perplexity with my rabbit
1:17:28 my rabbit
1:17:31 R1 um started design from an
1:17:35 image I don't want to do that I just
1:17:37 want to start what can we design for you
1:17:39 today how do
1:17:42 I let's see t-shirt
1:17:59 what do you want to
1:18:02 change
1:18:04 um
1:18:07 change
1:18:09 the
1:18:13 coffee
1:18:15 cup to a
1:18:20 robot and Ro robit robot
1:18:25 and the top text
1:18:31 to
1:18:34 embrace
1:18:41 [Music]
1:18:42 the
1:18:44 and the
1:18:46 bottom
1:18:51 text
1:18:53 to J
1:18:55 exclamation point all right let's see if
1:18:58 I can do
1:19:01 this I doubt
1:19:04 it I've been saying a big book of parlor
1:19:07 tricks all year archetypal architect
1:19:10 yeah actually that's a really good idea
1:19:12 actually you know what that could be a
1:19:14 really
1:19:15 fun oh that could be a
1:19:20 joint like in Irregulars or
1:19:23 Salon hey that's pretty cool
1:19:25 embrace the Jank it did it nice and it
1:19:28 made it didn't make the coffee cup a
1:19:30 robot well it did it's got robot
1:19:36 joints huh that's super
1:19:40 cool I like it I like it a lot that's
1:19:46 playground.com
1:19:50 I think that a
1:20:04 cuz what could be cool is you have a
1:20:06 book where like the left Page is all
1:20:09 example images and then the right page
1:20:11 is here's the site to go to here's the
1:20:14 prompt to put in that's like a Madlibs
1:20:16 kind of thing archetypal architect I'm
1:20:18 currently right writing said book
1:20:20 perfect so we don't need to do it
1:20:22 awesome um but share share that with us
1:20:24 and and you know um if you want to
1:20:28 partner with any anyone on that um
1:20:31 Source Camp's really good at the parlor
1:20:34 tricks
1:20:36 um I know a handful but I'm not I'm not
1:20:39 actually super good at it but I think
1:20:41 that's where I'm
1:20:47 going yeah it's it's crazy it's it's
1:20:50 it's [ __ ] nuts here's another parlor
1:20:53 trick that is a site th this is a
1:20:55 relatively useless tool as I see it
1:20:58 right now but if you go to the [ __ ] is
1:21:02 the
1:21:04 URL oh my [ __ ] brain hey advice don't
1:21:09 get
1:21:10 old it [ __ ]
1:21:12 sucks I got to go look at my cheat sheet
1:21:25 blockade lab Sky
1:21:27 Skybox so come with me won't you to
1:21:32 Skybox blad
1:21:35 labs.com
1:21:37 Skybox blad
1:21:40 labs.com
1:21:42 and then you start on this page and you
1:21:45 can pick a style so if you find a style
1:21:48 you like you go do
1:21:50 that so that's a cool style
1:21:56 and then what this is is just a cool
1:22:00 3D world you can twirl around and you
1:22:03 can't navigate it it's not an actual 3D
1:22:06 world it's a it's an image mapped onto a
1:22:10 sphere but it's still it's beautiful
1:22:12 look at the little lily pads the big
1:22:15 beautiful tutor or what is that German
1:22:18 tutor something Castle the crazy clouds
1:22:21 but I can so this says a quaint village
1:22:24 with with a reflective Lake Pleasant
1:22:27 Sunshine so we're going to go a
1:22:31 quaint so we're going to go
1:22:34 a um
1:22:41 steampunk
1:22:47 Amphitheater on a reflective L
1:22:52 Lake Pleasant sunshine
1:22:58 generate and so now this is going
1:23:01 to give us this
1:23:04 style but an
1:23:06 Amphitheater I have no idea what that's
1:23:08 going to look like but hopefully it'll
1:23:09 be cool this actually quite beautiful
1:23:26 steampunk Amphitheater there you
1:23:30 go
1:23:34 oops and I guess we're on stage
1:23:45 nice
1:23:47 like this is essentially useless
1:23:51 but if someone doesn't know anything
1:23:53 about AI That's pretty [ __ ]
1:23:55 impressive
1:23:58 right so why not have like 10 of these
1:24:02 you can just link to them you give
1:24:04 someone here's the three three
1:24:06 instructions go do cool [ __ ] if you like
1:24:09 this more here's a longer list of [ __ ]
1:24:11 that you should should dig
1:24:13 into oh maybe that's the maybe that's
1:24:15 the the the way it works is you've
1:24:19 got you've got representative parlor
1:24:23 trick as the as the the
1:24:27 goodie and then underneath it here are a
1:24:30 bunch of tools that you can go explore
1:24:33 where you can do this and much
1:24:35 more that might be the way to do it yeah
1:24:37 that's good I think I figured it
1:24:40 out that's
1:24:42 good like the sphere in Vegas actually
1:24:45 you could map these to the sphere in
1:24:47 Vegas upscale these things I bet they'd
1:24:50 be stunning in
1:24:52 there uh uh uh
1:24:58 I don't have many parlor tricks of my
1:24:59 own yet cool that might be a good
1:25:05 coab I like it yeah so I think I think
1:25:09 my getting started page is going to
1:25:12 transform
1:25:14 dramatically to don't think about this
1:25:17 [ __ ] too
1:25:18 much just go
1:25:22 play yeah I think that's it it that's
1:25:26 going to take some work [ __ ] I hate
1:25:29 having ideas cuz then you got to do
1:25:40 them um it would have to be super high
1:25:42 res I know the the sphere is what 8K or
1:25:46 16k it's like it's some crazy amount of
1:25:48 K and then you also how they map it on
1:25:51 that sphere is is a really complicated
1:25:54 thing
1:25:57 you can you can make Folly with chat
1:26:02 GPT I'm framing it as a book about how
1:26:05 AI supercharges human creativity that's
1:26:08 a that's actually a really good framing
1:26:10 I like it a lot sounds like a a job for
1:26:14 the AI life hacks Guild oh have a group
1:26:17 help you that's actually a really good
1:26:19 idea Danielle so so archetypal architect
1:26:22 if you're not in the the life AI life
1:26:25 hacks Club on the salon you need to get
1:26:29 in their
1:26:30 Pronto because that
1:26:33 group actually I think having a thread
1:26:36 where people submit parlor tricks that
1:26:39 could be like a whole like a whole
1:26:41 thread or channel that could that could
1:26:43 even be like
1:26:45 a I mean that could be what the the AI
1:26:49 life hacks is is they could also be
1:26:52 parlor tricks maybe it's life hacks and
1:26:53 parlor tricks
1:26:55 but that's too long have to
1:26:58 join behind times here Jay Winston sccal
1:27:02 yeah definitely
1:27:04 join the salon. a the salon. ath
1:27:09 salon. it's
1:27:11 it's it's
1:27:15 important all right who's got Who's got
1:27:19 what what
1:27:20 thoughts questions
1:27:25 I was talking about your idea too Kyle
1:27:27 nice love it perfect I so that's the
1:27:30 thing we're all circling around what
1:27:33 what's cool about showing up to
1:27:35 something like this channel night after
1:27:38 night
1:27:40 is there's this kind of zeitgeist
1:27:43 there's this kind of flow of what we're
1:27:46 excited about what we're not excited
1:27:48 about what's happening what's energizing
1:27:50 what's
1:27:51 de-energizing and it
1:27:55 you tend to like tap into that and it's
1:27:57 quite powerful and it's it's if you're
1:27:59 willing to let yourself just be in the
1:28:02 conversation and not have
1:28:04 expectations
1:28:07 um it's it's quite powerful it's quite
1:28:10 good
1:28:14 so
1:28:16 yeah just call it the Parlor that's nice
1:28:29 I keep thinking about making a book for
1:28:32 people who are learning who are using AI
1:28:35 to learn more about AI That's
1:28:39 good learn learning wait using AI to
1:28:42 learn more about AI to write new AI
1:28:45 systems to learn more about AI to create
1:28:47 new AI systems or something like
1:28:51 that
1:28:52 it's it's it's uh Inception in book
1:28:59 form all right
1:29:03 um I think that's it for tonight if
1:29:06 there's if there's any if anyone's got
1:29:08 any burning things let me let me check
1:29:09 my list here see if there's anything I
1:29:11 want
1:29:12 to we did the virtual try on thing we
1:29:16 played playground.com is fun looks like
1:29:18 something fun to play
1:29:21 with that e so tomorrow night
1:29:26 is the salon
1:29:28 presents um meeting so go sign up for
1:29:32 that go RSVP for that I on China cursor
1:29:36 AI my problem with cursor AI right now
1:29:39 is I don't know enough about programming
1:29:41 like I haven't done like Riley what's
1:29:43 his name Riley Brown um has has [ __ ]
1:29:48 lost his mind he's like a month or 6
1:29:51 weeks into I decided to write
1:29:54 application with cursor AI he is like he
1:29:56 is [ __ ] sliding down you know sliding
1:30:00 down the slide into the into the
1:30:03 abyss with cursor AI
1:30:09 um I'm intrigued by it um but I haven't
1:30:14 I haven't gone there yet so I don't I I
1:30:16 don't have anything I can
1:30:17 demo let's see there's the robot
1:30:21 AMA all right cool uh um all right I
1:30:27 shared a new video generator really
1:30:29 where'd you share
1:30:33 it Oracle
1:30:36 no where'd you share it Danielle in
1:30:42 uh I listen to the Sarah barell song
1:30:45 it's lacking something a dog
1:30:51 perhaps I'm trying to think who the
1:30:56 actress was it was it was some actress
1:30:58 from one of the road shows of waitress
1:31:01 that was singing it where I was just
1:31:03 like damn she was she was good she just
1:31:04 acted it really good and then she had
1:31:07 such control of her voice I was like oh
1:31:09 yeah that's how you're supposed to sing
1:31:14 that oh man okay Danielle mentioned me
1:31:17 in a comment let's go look at that
1:31:31 the new AI generator is even
1:31:36 better Mini Max by Halo I I can't honest
1:31:41 to God I can't keep up with this [ __ ]
1:31:46 anymore because we just came up with the
1:31:48 new music generator loud
1:31:52 me watch on YouTube
1:31:58 oh thank goodness we get a we get a
1:32:01 commercial here we are driving down the
1:32:03 road and all of a
1:32:04 sudden there's a crack in our windshield
1:32:07 you know I was not ready for this but
1:32:10 here's yet another Sora level video
1:32:13 generator that that does not look s out
1:32:15 and the quality of this is It's You know
1:32:18 what I okay everyone's saying that
1:32:22 everything is Sora quality is just not
1:32:26 true thank to our thanks to our sponsor
1:32:30 I don't want the
1:32:31 sponsor clling turbo
1:32:35 type clling is pretty
1:32:38 good but we don't know if it's Sora like
1:32:41 because we don't have
1:32:43 Sora oh this is another Chinese
1:32:47 one is this one do you have to join this
1:32:52 one um let's see
1:32:57 uh jet
1:33:03 fighter
1:33:07 flying
1:33:09 make log in now this was the one you
1:33:15 can't you you have to scan your this
1:33:17 thing in WeChat which I don't have or
1:33:20 you need you can't put in an 01 number
1:33:23 can you
1:33:27 no so I don't think we can play with
1:33:29 this
1:33:32 one yeah so anyway I don't know more
1:33:37 like again the the challenge right now
1:33:40 is there's too many tools that are too
1:33:42 good um that just having it be this much
1:33:46 of a pain in the ass is just I won't use
1:33:48 it for that
1:33:50 reason that's how I was with cing for a
1:33:52 while cuz there were two different ways
1:33:54 to get to cling and one of them worked
1:33:56 and one of them didn't look under M for
1:33:59 United
1:34:02 States log
1:34:07 in oh they added oh these are new
1:34:27 United Arab Emirates yeah why make these
1:34:30 things um alphabetical that would make
1:34:34 way too much
1:34:42 sense how they're grouping these things
1:34:44 geographically is that what's going on
1:34:51 here I think so
1:34:57 what group is the United States
1:35:04 in this is worse than a
1:35:08 capture
1:35:09 China how did I miss the United States
1:35:13 please enter
1:35:16 your United
1:35:19 no oh my God
1:35:25 well I'm not going to do it here you can
1:35:27 figure that out plus one KY I know but
1:35:30 it does it allow you to do plus
1:35:32 one I did o plus01 plus
1:35:40 one plus one Canada plus one
1:35:44 USA all
1:35:47 right now I'm afraid to do it they're
1:35:50 gonna they're gonna steal all my
1:35:52 data I can't do it people
1:35:54 [Laughter]
1:36:03 there's too many tools you can't keep up
1:36:07 can't keep
1:36:09 up I don't know how to do this
1:36:12 anymore the AI learning lab Professor
1:36:15 has melted down he can't he can't he's
1:36:18 got no I got nothing I got nothing I I
1:36:21 got nothing to teach first I was
1:36:23 unqualified to begin with and now I am
1:36:26 officially I I'm just tapped out I got
1:36:28 there's too much there's too much so
1:36:31 we're going to make seven parlor tricks
1:36:34 and that's all we're going to teach put
1:36:36 your bow on I don't have it here it got
1:36:39 moved into the other room it's not here
1:36:41 I can't even put my bow
1:36:44 [Laughter]
1:36:47 on is stealing it they already have it I
1:36:51 know they do everyone already has our
1:36:52 data yeah by the way if you're worried
1:36:54 about all these tools stealing all your
1:36:58 data have you used
1:37:00 Google it's already
1:37:02 gone your data unless you've severed
1:37:06 yourself from the internet your data is
1:37:07 already
1:37:08 gone you have friends on Facebook yeah
1:37:11 your data is gone it's done they know
1:37:15 everything everything all right I'm
1:37:18 going to get out of here so join the
1:37:22 salon go there the salon. join that if
1:37:26 you haven't um keep coming back here
