19:54 myself the uh the thing that

20:01 where I was just you know music's like
20:04 everything else like you have a really
20:06 quick you get better and better and
20:08 better for a while like your first year
20:12 year and a half and then you
20:14 plateau and so I sort of did two of
20:17 those plateaus and then for
20:19 like 15 20 years of my life I just
20:22 didn't get
20:24 better and then um and then I kind of
20:26 fell in love with Martin sexon
20:29 and I started learning his songs and so
20:33 the thing about Martin seum is he can
20:36 play like incredibly beautifully and
20:39 then he can sing like a [ __ ] angel
20:43 like a like something sent from the
20:46 heavens and then he can perform on top
20:47 of that even
20:49 better and so I just took hard songs of
20:54 his like black sheep

21:13 and just started learning them
21:16 and one of the advantages of of
21:20 ADHD is that when you get a song stuck
21:24 in your head it can be in there for a
21:26 [ __ ]
21:27 year and so and so like when I would get
21:31 obsessed with some of his songs I would
21:34 just I would just play them night after
21:36 night after night after night and I
21:37 would just play them until I got the
21:39 playing to the point that it was not as
21:41 good as him but like it was better than
21:43 what I was doing and then um and same
21:46 with the singing and like I would say
21:49 you know I sing Martin seon songs maybe
21:52 at
21:54 a if we were being
21:56 graded I'd be at a solid 42%
22:00 I would I would not be at a passing

22:11 grade and I've written songs
22:14 and so it's just it's just if you get
22:17 old enough if you just keep PL plucking
22:19 away plonking at
22:21 it you'll get
22:24 there yeah just just find a song you
22:26 love that's so here's here's how I did
22:29 did it my playing and singing were down
22:32 here his playing and singing were up
22:35 here so I would just pick one song and
22:38 just play it for like a [ __ ] year
22:41 until I got to like
22:42 here but like that for me was a major
22:45 it's like a whole another
22:49 Plateau so I'm still I'm still looking
22:52 way up at Martin seon level execution
22:57 but I do feel

23:06 music cuz he does this he does this just
23:09 this
23:12 amazing combination of finger style and
23:15 strumming
23:18 and um

23:36 anyway all right I've been having pretty
23:40 much every AI constantly fail with my
23:43 work the past few days yeah that's so
23:45 Pate actually it's funny you mentioned
23:47 that so some of what I want to talk
23:49 about
23:51 tonight like one of the breakthroughs
23:53 that I had and and
23:56 listen to be Clear Channel
23:59 the breakthroughs that I'm going to
24:01 share I'm making it sound like you
24:05 know there's some major [ __ ] idea
24:09 here this is this relatively
24:12 straightforward
24:14 stuff
24:17 um but it kind of addresses what pate's
24:19 talking
24:21 about is that where how I've been
24:25 thinking about AI historically and by
24:29 historically I mean over the past year
24:30 and a
24:31 half historically on this
24:34 channel
24:36 is this is the AI learning lab right and
24:39 so my thought was there's going to be a
24:41 handful of tools the way these these
24:45 Tech eras play out is that you know
24:48 there's lots of fits and starts and you
24:50 kind of consolidate the three major
24:52 players
24:53 and you know you can figure it out
24:55 relatively quickly well what's happening
24:58 with with AI is that the tools are so
25:01 good and so capable and there are so
25:04 many of them that the normal sort of
25:07 sort of swelling of you know
25:09 capabilities and then reconsolidating
25:12 like it just continues to
25:14 expand and and the capabilities are
25:17 really good
25:19 but every single tool without without
25:23 exception every single
25:25 tool is jankier than crap
25:29 right they're just they're just some
25:32 days you use chat GPT or gemini or
25:35 Claude and you're like oh my God this is
25:37 the best thing ever it did everything
25:38 perfectly and the next day you're like
25:41 could you just write a [ __ ] sentence
25:43 and and you can't get it to do
25:45 anything
25:48 so so the thing that that has been
25:51 striking
25:52 me over the past month or
25:55 so is I've I've experienced it myself
25:59 and I've seen other people do it
26:02 where they'll start with one outcome in
26:07 mind and they'll pick a
26:10 tool and they'll try to get that thing
26:15 done and then what ends up happening is
26:18 maybe they try a different tool or
26:22 two or maybe it's in that one same
26:25 tool but the AI does something
26:29 unexpected like maybe it fails at the
26:31 initial thing that they tried but it
26:34 does something else really well or I'll
26:37 share an example
26:39 um my friend Kevin Clark who's who's the
26:43 he heads up content
26:45 Evolution he gave me some recordings of
26:47 his father and his father's sister
26:49 talking about their life growing up on
26:51 the railroad um their father helped
26:54 build the tracks across our country from
26:57 like Texas to Chicago and they lived on
26:59 the tracks as the tracks were being
27:01 built it was cool story right and so so
27:04 I threw it into a transcriber that that
27:07 I made for storyvine and then we took
27:09 the transcripts and we popped them
27:11 into
27:13 um what did I pop it into must have just
27:15 been chat
27:17 PT I think it was just chat
27:19 PT and man it like instantly brought the
27:24 story to life and and so what what Kevin
27:26 was thinking about doing he's a pretty
27:29 serious guy he used to run IBM's Global
27:31 brand the guy has it going on and so he
27:33 was going to write a book right a novel
27:35 a fictionalized novel of of his dad and
27:39 his dad's sisters and life on the rails
27:43 and what chat GPT created was like like
27:46 it it really just brought this thing to
27:49 life and I just said this offhanded
27:52 comment to him I said I think this would
27:55 make a good children's book and for 4
27:58 hours later he sent Cindy [ __ ] and I an
28:01 email with illustrations and copy for a
28:05 children's book and and his children's
28:08 book about you know his his uh father
28:11 and aunt aunt yeah um growing up on the
28:15 rails is now you know being designed by
28:17 a book designer and it's going to go
28:19 into
28:22 production and so it's what's starting
28:25 to strike me and here's here's where
28:27 it's like this is different than than
28:28 what we've done
28:30 before is
28:34 that any work that you set out to
28:39 do what would have historically taken
28:42 you an hour or two to put
28:44 together you can now um use one of these
28:48 tools to put it together in 10 or 15
28:51 minutes and where I had been
28:53 historically was okay I go into chat GPT
28:56 I want to make a business plan I make a
28:59 business plan and then maybe I just keep
29:01 refining that business plan for the rest
29:03 of the
29:04 hour that's not where my head is right
29:07 now where my head is right now is okay I
29:08 got to make a business
29:11 plan what if I take that hour and in
29:15 that hour I say let me go do one in
29:18 perplexity that's going to be research
29:20 heavy let me go do one in Claude that's
29:22 going to have some interactive elements
29:23 because because it's got this artifacts
29:25 programming thing in it let me go into
29:29 um open AI 01 preview reasoning engine
29:33 and see what that does and let me do
29:35 another right do different tools go into
29:38 notebook LM and turn it into a
29:40 podcast so attack the exact same problem
29:43 with multiple
29:45 tools with less of an expectation of the
29:48 specific
29:50 outcome and then I I think a couple of
29:53 things
29:54 happen if you have a day like Pates
29:57 having where all of the tools tools seem
29:58 to be failing him you have a you have a
30:01 much higher chance of you know getting
30:04 one of those tools to actually do
30:05 something for you but if if you also
30:08 sort
30:10 of let the strength of the tool lead
30:13 lead where you're going in the output
30:14 you might end up with very different
30:16 outputs than you intended when you went
30:18 in now if you just need a marketing plan
30:21 and that's all you were asked for you
30:22 have to do that then do that the old way
30:25 but if you're like I'm thinking of
30:26 starting a business and I want to do
30:27 this thing
30:31 attack it with multiple tools with less
30:34 expectations of the outcomes and let the
30:36 tools kind of inspire you that's sort of
30:38 where my head is and so that's what I
30:39 figured we'd explore tonight so all
30:42 right I could try that with personal
30:44 rebranding it would be interesting yeah
30:46 exactly it's creating yeah exactly June
30:48 Mary it's yeah it's it's creating it's
30:51 and
30:56 it's one of one of the other things that
30:59 came up in the office hours today or
31:00 maybe it was the meeting before that
31:04 um some people are having good success
31:07 they'll go into Claude and have Claude
31:10 ingest something and process it and turn
31:12 it into an outline or whatever
31:13 structured notes and then they'll take
31:15 that CLA output that CL that claw output
31:19 and put that into chat GPT and have it
31:21 work on it and it makes the chat GPT
31:25 stuff better so you can start
31:27 seeding [ __ ] that's created in tool a in
31:30 tool C and and then take it back to Tool
31:32 B and refine that and then go oh that's
31:35 an idea for Tool D so take the same hour
31:40 but instead of thinking of it like this
31:43 linear single output progression think
31:47 of it like parallel
31:49 processing that's where my head is all
31:51 right yes I've been using all kinds of
31:53 avenues for an outcome equals dopamine
31:55 it is totally I mean it that kind of
31:58 working the way I'm
32:00 describing uh if you're neuros spicy and
32:03 have the ADHD thing going um it's going
32:07 to be fun for you if you don't have that
32:10 um it's probably going to be
32:11 torture but I think no matter how your
32:15 brain works experimenting
32:18 with with tools that allow you
32:22 to go wider and deeper in the same
32:26 amount of time I think is incredibly
32:27 powerful
32:29 we can only strive to be like Pate all
32:31 right we have an internal tool where we
32:33 can compare various models with the same
32:35 prompts it's nice that's great I agree
32:37 parallel yeah
32:40 yeah it really helps I also like to take
32:44 multiple media offshoots of lots of
32:46 things yeah exactly yeah here's a poem
32:49 here's a song Here's here's a business
32:51 plan here's a you know here's a uh
32:54 here's a children's book here's a what
32:56 whatever it is
33:01 um what did we do today um one of the
33:03 guys in content evolution in collab
33:06 today oh this is where it started he
33:09 said this is how the whole thing started
33:10 it was Joe gaml he said
33:13 um he's in the middle of this project
33:16 where they've done surveys of people so
33:19 they've got all this survey input and
33:21 they've got this these worksheets that
33:23 they've worked through that led up to
33:25 the surveys and that everyone did their
33:27 work in and then they've got the outputs
33:28 of those and the surveys and the thing
33:30 and I said why don't you take all that
33:32 put it in Notebook LM and generate a
33:35 podcast and I was like oh but wait maybe
33:37 you could also take it into Claud and
33:39 tell it to make an interactive dashboard
33:41 and then if you haven't seen
33:43 01 you know reasoning engine from open
33:46 AI you got to see that so I was just
33:49 taking this same idea of his and just
33:51 showing him different things he could do
33:53 the different strengths of these tools
33:56 and as I was doing it his jaw was
33:59 literally dropping open like he he was
34:01 like wait it what with the notebook LM
34:05 thing and then and then when he saw the
34:06 CLA thing make the interactive dashboard
34:08 he was like
34:10 huh and then and then when when he when
34:14 he watched the the reasoning engine do
34:16 its reasoning he was flabbergasted and
34:19 and it just struck me
34:23 that that ability and and that ability
34:27 to [ __ ] around right you know [ __ ]
34:29 around and find out this is like [ __ ]
34:31 around and produce some good
34:35 [ __ ]
34:37 um will I like this if I'm add but I
34:40 took my meds today if you took your meds
34:43 it'll be a bit of a a challenge you'll
34:45 be able to focus on each tool
34:49 better I am surprised I gave up my meds
34:52 ages ago I'm surprised every day how far
34:55 ahead this group is than the rest of the
34:56 population that's amazing that's really
34:58 cool well and I'll tell you what it is
35:00 it's you know I'd love to Pat myself on
35:03 the back and take credit for it it it
35:04 really isn't me other than making the
35:07 space the reason this channel works the
35:10 reason this community works the reason
35:12 the AI Salon is as valuable as it is is
35:16 that everyone shows
35:19 up and is staying in this conversation
35:22 right I'm creating the space to have
35:24 this conversation but you all showing up
35:27 with this
35:29 adventurous attitude and this curiosity
35:31 and this willingness to play and be
35:33 brave and go ah [ __ ] it I'll try a new
35:35 tool that's everything because I like I
35:40 I deeply deeply deeply deeply deeply
35:42 deeply deeply deeply believe
35:46 that that Curiosity that
35:50 willingness to not be the
35:53 expert right now is the single most
35:56 important skill you can have
35:59 and it's not even a skill it's a it's an

41:24 be able to figure this out like this and

1:00:04 same basic
1:00:05 architecture and and are giving all of
1:00:08 us kind of infinite
1:00:12 superpowers to do whatever the hell we
1:00:14 want to
1:00:18 do so you may feel very behind but we're
1:00:22 actually very very early if you're here

1:03:01 really big fans of it and the way it
1:03:04 works is I'll just show you a very
1:03:06 simple one this is a um a
1:03:11 notebook

1:03:17 intelligence we're going
1:03:19 to I think it's going to launch in the

1:08:01 just be an interesting experiment well

1:08:04 seen notebook LM before this is going to
1:08:08 blow your [ __ ]
1:08:10 mind so you click on this in the lower
1:08:12 right hand corner there's this thing
1:08:14 that says notebook guide and when you
1:08:16 pop open notebook guide It's a guide and
1:08:19 it it like here's a summary of all of
1:08:22 the all of the data that we have
1:08:24 uploaded here this gives you a summary
1:08:25 of it and then it says help me create an
1:08:28 FAQ about this a study guide a table of
1:08:30 contents a timeline a briefing document
1:08:33 or here is suggested suggested questions
1:08:36 you could ask about this book so this is
1:08:39 a whole thing that's going to help you
1:08:41 take in whatever is the data that you've
1:08:44 uploaded and summarize it in all sorts
1:08:46 of crazy and interesting ways but in the
1:08:49 upper rightand corner here is this thing
1:08:51 called audio
1:08:53 overview now
1:08:56 notebook lm's been out for eight months
1:08:59 no one really cared about it some people
1:09:01 did there were people that were fans of
1:09:02 it and like for the past 6 months people
1:09:05 said Kyle you really got to talk talk
1:09:06 about notebook LM I'm like yeah yeah
1:09:08 whatever loser I I just didn't take it
1:09:10 in right and then they released this
1:09:13 little feature so about a week and a
1:09:16 half two weeks ago they just stuck
1:09:20 inside buried
1:09:22 inside this subfeature of a sub feature
1:09:25 Fe of this pretty incredible tool They
1:09:28 just added this thing and and what it
1:09:31 says here is load the conversation but
1:09:33 if if you haven't created something here
1:09:35 before it'll say create an audio
1:09:38 overview that's a deep dive of two
1:09:40 people talking back and forth in
1:09:43 English but listen to this so so you
1:09:46 just push the generate button and about
1:09:49 two or three minutes
1:09:51 later something like this comes out for
1:09:54 your project all right So today we're
1:09:56 going to dive into something kind of
1:09:57 mindblowing yeah the future of
1:09:59 intelligence it's a big one but we're
1:10:02 not talking you know like those Sci-Fi
1:10:04 movies with robots taking over right
1:10:06 this is different this is about humans
1:10:09 and AI like teaming up yeah to become
1:10:13 something even smarter than we could be
1:10:14 on our own like unlocking superpowers we
1:10:17 never thought of exactly yeah and to
1:10:20 help us explore this we've got
1:10:21 collective intelligence in the age of AI
1:10:24 great book great book and you know the
1:10:27 authors Kevin Clark and Kyle Shannon
1:10:29 they're not just talking about this
1:10:30 stuff they're actually out there
1:10:31 building it yeah they're really making
1:10:33 it happen with their company content
1:10:35 Evolution bringing together all these
1:10:37 Brilliant Minds okay
1:10:40 so now I've got a podcast of my book the
1:10:45 book hasn't been published yet and these
1:10:47 two objective NPR style podcaster people
1:10:51 are talking about my
1:10:53 book and they're talking about it like
1:10:56 they they're like blowing Sunshine up my
1:10:58 ass they're like H that's a really
1:11:00 interesting idea I hadn't thought of
1:11:02 that boy they're really coming at this
1:11:04 from all sorts of crazy angles like it's
1:11:06 it's just it's just wild um and so so
1:11:10 this is one tool right so I've come in
1:11:13 here to create an interview guide and if
1:11:16 I just take a small moment to instead of
1:11:19 say I need an interview guide and I just
1:11:20 want to be more efficient I come in and
1:11:23 I say what does this tool make POS
1:11:27 possible in addition to my interview
1:11:29 guide so that's one thing
1:11:32 okay so now I'm going to flip over to
1:11:36 Claude so

1:11:52 Claude Claude is very similar to chat
1:11:55 GPT
1:11:57 it's created by a company called
1:12:00 anthropic
1:12:02 um it is a bunch of exop aai employees
1:12:06 so when the when the leadership of open
1:12:09 AI flees from open AI they tend to go
1:12:13 and you
1:12:14 know collaborate and and and uh coals in
1:12:19 other corners of the AI universe and
1:12:21 anthropic is one of those so this is
1:12:24 again a very similar tool to chat
1:12:27 GPT um Joe could have taken his his data
1:12:31 points put him in here and said hey
1:12:32 Claude make me an interview guide and
1:12:34 this would have also just made him an
1:12:36 interview guide
1:12:40 but what we did today is I uploaded the
1:12:44 collective intelligence book and instead
1:12:46 of excuse me instead of saying make me
1:12:49 an interview
1:12:50 guide I said in fact you know what I'm
1:12:53 going to no I I'll show it to you like
1:12:55 this and then and then I'll show you how
1:12:57 how it works okay
1:12:59 um I uploaded the book and then my
1:13:03 prompt was make me an interactive
1:13:06 dashboard that is a teaching tool for
1:13:09 the concepts in the book so I'm going to
1:13:11 click on this thing and it's going to
1:13:13 open this window over on the side and so
1:13:15 what Claude actually does this is a a
1:13:18 feature called
1:13:19 artifacts
1:13:21 and doesn't it really make you want to
1:13:24 read your book out loud there's a ton of
1:13:27 stuff to know about would taking Google
1:13:30 courses be a good idea well it's not a
1:13:34 bad idea Michael but here here's the
1:13:37 challenge there are so many tools so so
1:13:40 Google if you want to be a
1:13:43 developer taking Google courses is
1:13:45 probably not a bad idea cuz cuz a lot of
1:13:48 the Google tools are really designed for
1:13:50 developers like access to the 1.5 Pro
1:13:54 Gemini model model you actually do it
1:13:56 inside the development tool um notebook
1:13:59 LM is is a a relatively um consumer
1:14:05 grade um application right not designed
1:14:09 for developers if you want to be a
1:14:11 developer it's not bad but that's just
1:14:13 giving you you know a single company's
1:14:16 view of the world you've got meta doing
1:14:19 major AI work you've got Google doing
1:14:21 major AI work you've got anthropic
1:14:24 you've got open AI you've got Microsoft
1:14:27 like there are tons take any class but
1:14:30 don't pay more than 50 bucks I think
1:14:32 that's an appropriate uh an appropriate
1:14:34 statement Cosmic
1:14:36 lover anything you can do to get your
1:14:39 head around this stuff I say do
1:14:41 it don't think that anyone's got this
1:14:44 figured out here here's here's here's my
1:14:48 thing if you want to get into the tech
1:14:49 side of this and the mathematics side of
1:14:51 this and you know building Frontier
1:14:54 models and and you know being under the
1:14:56 hood there's plenty of courses on that
1:14:59 if you want to have your head
1:15:00 around the applications of tools like
1:15:05 chat GPT everyone's trying to figure
1:15:07 that out because the tools keep changing
1:15:08 so fast so don't think that there's any
1:15:11 single Source okay all right
1:15:15 so so what you're looking at here is
1:15:18 code that when I asked it to write an
1:15:21 interactive dashboard it wrote this code
1:15:24 and then it lets you preview it so here
1:15:26 is a little application about my book
1:15:30 collective intelligence in the age of AI
1:15:31 it's an interactive dashboard here's an
1:15:34 overview tab that's got the three main
1:15:36 Concepts in it here are key Concepts
1:15:40 here are some visualizations or a
1:15:41 visualization that it came up with from
1:15:43 the book and then here's a little quiz
1:15:45 it's like Okay cool so that was cool and
1:15:48 then it did that and it told me about it
1:15:50 and then I said oh you know what I I
1:15:53 want you to build a scenario plan
1:15:56 instead that
1:15:57 shows life with collective intelligence
1:16:01 approach with and without collective
1:16:03 intelligence with lots of levers to
1:16:05 change the outcomes and so it created
1:16:09 this
1:16:10 thing just [ __ ]
1:16:13 bonkers the collective intelligence
1:16:15 scenario planner so it took Core
1:16:18 Concepts in our book AI adoption
1:16:20 collaboration level data sharing ethical
1:16:24 framework and education investment and
1:16:26 it put them all at 50% and then down
1:16:29 here it says here's what the future
1:16:31 looks like with collective intelligence
1:16:33 and without collective intelligence and
1:16:35 then watch this as I slide these
1:16:39 sliders the graphs
1:16:41 change so I can go in here and say okay
1:16:44 well we're not going to really invest in
1:16:47 education um we care a lot about ethics
1:16:50 um we don't have a lot of data to share
1:16:52 we're going to we're going to be really
1:16:53 proprietary about our data we'll do
1:16:56 medium collaboration and then we're
1:16:57 going to go all in on AI and you can
1:17:00 even notice that when the bars get to
1:17:03 the top of this is 60% when they go
1:17:05 above 60% it resets the the scale to 80
1:17:11 80% and
1:17:13 so I mean holy crap and then there
1:17:16 there's the scenario analysis that
1:17:18 explains how to do it Kyle can can we
1:17:21 see the prompt one more time yes of

1:17:25 but again I don't want you to think like
1:17:28 this is I am not a prompt engineer I was
1:17:31 just [ __ ] around right right I was
1:17:33 just showing

1:17:39 interesting things I'll show you the
1:17:40 prompt in a second when we got to the
1:17:42 end of this exercise Joe said okay so I
1:17:45 should use Claude to make interactive
1:17:48 dashboards we're like no you can use
1:17:52 Claude to do all the [ __ ] you would do
1:17:53 with chat gbt and
1:17:56 you can make interactive dashboards but
1:17:57 you could also tell it to make you a
1:17:59 video game that teaches the concepts of
1:18:02 your book
1:18:04 or just like literally anything if you
1:18:06 have an idea for an application just ask
1:18:08 for it and it'll build it but but the
1:18:10 prompt that I wrote
1:18:14 was I want you to build a scenario
1:18:18 planner instead right so it had built
1:18:21 that other thing that that just showed
1:18:22 the concept it's kind of a lame ass app
1:18:25 and so I wanted something that was going
1:18:26 to be more interactive so I Saidi want
1:18:28 you to build a scenario planner instead
1:18:30 that shows life without collective
1:18:32 intelligence approach wait with with
1:18:35 collective intelligence approach and
1:18:37 without and lots of levers to change the
1:18:39 outcomes like this is a horrible prompt
1:18:42 right this is a horrible prompt like
1:18:45 it's it's completely non-specific right
1:18:47 this is if if I were working with pate
1:18:50 and I gave him that prompt he'd be like
1:18:51 dude you're fired you can't work here
1:18:53 anymore
1:18:55 well I I he would have fired me long ago
1:18:58 but that's not the
1:19:01 point it's smart enough to know what
1:19:04 that
1:19:05 means and then it just goes and writes
1:19:09 the
1:19:09 code and and you're like what do you
1:19:11 mean it writes the code well here watch
1:19:15 let's go to the bottom and we'll say
1:19:23 um let's see what do we what do we want
1:19:25 to do
1:19:40 um okay
1:19:45 for the interactive
1:19:48 sliders rather than outputting a bar
1:19:52 chart I want you
1:19:55 to Output a dynamic word cloud that
1:19:59 reconfigures
1:20:01 itself based
1:20:04 on the slider
1:20:12 input and so it's thinking thinking it's
1:20:15 going to go certainly I'll do
1:20:19 that and there it is writing the code so
1:20:22 again if you're new here if you've never
1:20:24 watched this tool or any of these tools
1:20:27 write
1:20:28 code this is not teaching me to write
1:20:31 python this is not teaching me to write
1:20:33 HTML or whatever the [ __ ] it's writing
1:20:36 in it's writing it and then it's going
1:20:39 to run
1:20:41 it now will it work I don't know
1:20:44 sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't
1:20:46 these tools are janky as [ __ ] but I'll
1:20:48 tell you what if you've never coded in
1:20:50 your life before and you see it do this
1:20:53 holy crap

1:21:10 cloud but as I move
1:21:13 these sustainability and social equity
1:21:17 and quality of life go up as I increase

1:21:24 framework collaboration level goes up

1:21:28 change they don't but let's say no AI
1:21:33 adoption let's see let's get rid of
1:21:37 ethic ethics ethics are a waste let's
1:21:39 not do that so anyway all right janky

1:21:46 that it just modified the code to do
1:21:49 shitty word cloud instead of you know
1:21:52 instead of uh charts and graphs

1:22:03 Claude could absolutely have
1:22:06 accomplished creating an interview
1:22:09 guide without even really trying right
1:22:12 you could come in here give it the data
1:22:14 say write me an interview guide and just
1:22:16 stop right there but now because I'm
1:22:20 taking this multi-headed approach I went
1:22:22 to notebook LM that gave me some [ __ ]
1:22:25 maybe it gave me an FAQ oh an FAQ that's
1:22:27 a good idea to create and then it
1:22:30 created that podcast for me I'm like oh
1:22:31 [ __ ] that's cool then I came in here now
1:22:34 I've got an interactive application you
1:22:36 know what else I can do down in the
1:22:37 lower right hand corner do you know what
1:22:39 this says
1:22:42 publish
1:22:43 publish um the person asking about repet
1:22:46 and cursor um yes I've seen them both um
1:22:51 repet for me is the one for for non
1:22:55 developers that is the most magical
1:22:57 because it doesn't require you to to
1:23:00 have developer knowledge of things like
1:23:03 development environments and databases
1:23:06 and front-end Frameworks and and servers
1:23:10 it just does all that [ __ ] for you so I
1:23:13 don't know cursor because my technical
1:23:16 ability is is I would say probably just
1:23:19 below that I could figure it out but I
1:23:21 don't feel like it um so if you're a
1:23:23 developer cursor sound sounds pretty
1:23:25 [ __ ] amazing um but even if you're a
1:23:28 developer or you're a non-developer
1:23:30 repet is absolutely insane in fact I've
1:23:33 got um a video I had a pretty big Kevin
1:23:36 McAllister moment with repet in here um
1:23:39 where I had it create an application and
1:23:41 it was absolutely nuts hang on the dog's
1:23:42 whining I think he wants cheese what's
1:23:45 up you want cheese you want cheese is
1:23:48 that what's happening

1:24:12 cool
1:24:16 um what did I make in rep I even forget
1:24:19 the app I made in
1:24:22 it but it made me a fully functional app
1:24:24 oh oh in repet I made
1:24:29 a like reet's another one you you could
1:24:32 probably do something with repet where
1:24:34 you could upload I don't know some sort
1:24:36 of data source that you process you
1:24:38 could process a PDF in in any one of
1:24:42 these tools and output some
1:24:45 Json of like structured data from your
1:24:48 book and then throw that into repet and
1:24:50 say turn it into an application the
1:24:52 application I made on repet I did it
1:24:54 live on the on the channel here I had an
1:24:56 idea for an app I don't know 15 years
1:25:00 ago called memory mapper that would
1:25:03 allow you to create a Google map and you
1:25:05 drop pins and when you drop a pin you
1:25:07 could share a memory ah this is where I
1:25:11 got high with you know Bucky on the 50
1:25:14 yard line of Beaver Stadium at Penn
1:25:16 State it was Vince actually but you know
1:25:18 hey whatever
1:25:22 um and within I don't know 90 minutes or
1:25:25 something like that 2
1:25:27 hours I had a
1:25:29 functional map
1:25:31 application that not only let me drop
1:25:33 pins on it it let me upload multimedia
1:25:37 files like pictures and audio and and
1:25:40 uh and and uh video for every memory it
1:25:45 was
1:25:47 amazing so wow this looks amazing yeah I
1:25:50 mean yeah Bonkers Okay so we've done two
1:25:53 tools now so all of this [ __ ] we we came
1:25:57 in with a single idea we want to create
1:25:58 a question guide from some data we've
1:26:01 got in the in
1:26:03 the Kyle Shannon brain 1.0 of AI you
1:26:08 come in you do your efficiency thing and
1:26:10 you get the hell out the new way I'm
1:26:13 thinking is like [ __ ]
1:26:15 that use multiple tools to not only
1:26:18 accomplish what you're going in for but
1:26:22 to do whatever like learn these tools
1:26:25 well enough to know that they can do

1:26:51 you a URL Genie and then they're hosting
1:26:53 all these all these applications so you
1:26:56 can just give someone that URL to that
1:26:58 application they log into it and then
1:27:00 they use your Cloud
1:27:04 application okay play first mindfully

1:27:12 this we discovered this after a year or
1:27:17 so of people telling us how remarkable
1:27:20 being part of the AI Salon was and and
1:27:23 we started interviewing people well

1:27:27 it and and there was lots it was the
1:27:29 people and it was the knowledge and it
1:27:31 was the generosity and it was the
1:27:33 Curiosity and it was the adventure and
1:27:34 it was the bravery and it was

1:28:23 stuff and then through absorbing it she
1:28:26 learned enough about some tools to say

1:28:34 that and then as she started to do that
1:28:37 she started telling people what she was
1:28:38 learning and how she was learning and
1:28:40 things like that so she started
1:28:41 generously leading and so we ended up
1:28:44 articulating it in these
1:28:46 three
1:28:48 modes just play play with these tools
1:28:52 they're changing so fast that if you
1:28:54 were if you were a master of all of the
1:28:57 AI Tools in
1:28:58 July you're going to feel relatively
1:29:01 clueless right now because they're all
1:29:03 different Everything's changed the
1:29:05 interfaces have changed the capabilities
1:29:07 have changed there's completely new
1:29:09 things like 01 preview from chat GPT is
1:29:13 not chat GPT it's a different thing I
1:29:16 don't even know what it is so I'm back
1:29:19 to playing first with with 01 preview
1:29:22 because I don't know how to use it so I
1:29:23 just got to play with it
1:29:25 and at some point I'll get my head
1:29:27 around it and then I go oh I know what
1:29:29 i' do with that and then I'll mindfully
1:29:30 create something and as I'm doing that
1:29:33 I'm hopefully generously leading and
1:29:35 telling people what I'm learning and and
1:29:37 I I still feel clueless me too exactly

1:31:01 five of them we're not using AI at
1:31:07 all you know this is at the highest
1:31:09 level of our
1:31:11 government um you got to play with this
1:31:13 [ __ ] you got to understand not
1:31:17 only what it can do for you today but
1:31:20 like what it's making possible and and
1:31:22 how quickly it's changing it's going to
1:31:24 to change how we work so

1:38:10 to do he want he he had some data he
1:38:13 wanted to
1:38:14 synthesize and he wanted to use some
1:38:17 tool to create an interview guide and
1:38:21 then he he asked the group
1:38:24 what tool should I
1:38:26 use and
1:38:28 so so what I'm showing here tonight is
1:38:31 kind of the progression that I showed
1:38:32 him and in showing them to him I
1:38:34 realized that there's a completely new
1:38:36 way of working that is foreign to me
1:38:39 I've
1:38:40 never thought about this because I've
1:38:42 never had tools capable of allowing me
1:38:44 to think like this
1:38:47 that rather than just solving one
1:38:49 problem with one tool have one problem
1:38:52 you want to solve but solve it solve the
1:38:54 same problem with multiple tools and
1:38:56 then go beyond solving that specific
1:38:59 problem and just do some other [ __ ] do
1:39:02 some ancillary [ __ ] take the same hour
1:39:04 that you would have taken to just do
1:39:06 that one thing and just go do a pile of
1:39:08 [ __ ] okay so the third tool we're
1:39:11 looking at so we look first at notebook
1:39:12 LM we created a
1:39:15 podcast on top of
1:39:17 the interview guide then we went to
1:39:20 Claude and we created an interactive
1:39:22 application on top of the interview
1:39:24 guide and now we're at chat GPT 4 so I
1:39:28 could just go into chat GPT
1:39:31 4 um and um and ask it to make an
1:39:36 interview guide but if you haven't been
1:39:39 paying super close attention to chat GPT
1:39:42 and why would
1:39:44 you about two weeks ago they announced
1:39:47 this thing 01 preview and it it it was
1:39:50 called project strawberry and there was
1:39:52 all this hype on it and then when they
1:39:55 released it people sort of got it but
1:39:57 sort of didn't and people like David
1:39:59 Shapiro said oh there's no real magic
1:40:01 there it's just a piece of crap it's
1:40:03 just Chain of Thought reasoning there's
1:40:05 there's nothing to look at here let's
1:40:07 keep it moving people um but it uses
1:40:10 what's called Chain of Thought reasoning
1:40:12 which is just a fancy term to say it
1:40:15 prompts itself
1:40:18 to kind
1:40:20 of it takes it takes your prompt
1:40:24 and then it it reasons it sort of
1:40:26 prompts itself to Think Through multiple
1:40:28 steps to give you the best possible
1:40:32 answer and so it's not something you
1:40:34 would use all the time

1:51:48 internet is like the fabric of how we do
1:51:50 modern
1:51:51 business a
1:51:53 is not that yet but it's going to be
1:51:56 that so if you want to
1:51:59 be if you want to start to get
1:52:02 literate ain't none of us literate right

1:52:15 at playing enough
1:52:18 with looking at all these moving parts
