47. 10:47along but they thought it might be cool to just sing my songs and see what you do and see what you think of

62. 14:05today I'm starting to get my head not around any single tool but I'm starting to get my head around I think a new a new way of
63. 14:23working and it's and it's wild it's not it's not normal so if you stick around notebook LM is fascinating I

90. 19:44know quick do AI stuff he's gone where did you learn to play Kyle um I just really taught myself the uh the thing that [Music]
91. 19:59so there was a there was a long time where I was just you know music's like everything else like you have a really
92. 20:05quick you get better and better and better for a while like your first year year and a half and then you plateau and so I sort of did two of
93. 20:16those plateaus and then for like 15 20 years of my life I just didn't get better and then um and then I kind of
94. 20:26fell in love with Martin sexon and I started learning his songs and so the thing about Martin seum is he can
95. 20:36play like incredibly beautifully and then he can sing like a [ __ ] angel like a like something sent from the
96. 20:45heavens and then he can perform on top of that even better and so I just took hard songs of his like black sheep
97. 21:07[Music] and just started learning them and one of the advantages of of ADHD is that when you get a song stuck
98. 21:23in your head it can be in there for a [ __ ] year and so and so like when I would get obsessed with some of his songs I would
99. 21:33just I would just play them night after night after night after night and I would just play them until I got the
100. 21:39playing to the point that it was not as good as him but like it was better than what I was doing and then um and same
101. 21:46with the singing and like I would say you know I sing Martin seon songs maybe at a if we were being graded I'd be at a solid 42%
102. 21:59I would I would not be at a passing [Music] grade and I've written songs
103. 22:14and so it's just it's just if you get old enough if you just keep PL plucking away plonking at it you'll get
104. 22:23there yeah just just find a song you love that's so here's here's how I did did it my playing and singing were down
105. 22:32here his playing and singing were up here so I would just pick one song and just play it for like a [ __ ] year until I got to like
106. 22:42here but like that for me was a major it's like a whole another Plateau so I'm still I'm still looking way up at Martin seon level execution
107. 22:56but I do feel [Music] at least for that style of music cuz he does this he does this just this
108. 23:11amazing combination of finger style and strumming and um [Music]
109. 23:36anyway all right I've been having pretty much every AI constantly fail with my work the past few days yeah that's so
110. 23:45Pate actually it's funny you mentioned that so some of what I want to talk about tonight like one of the breakthroughs that I had and and
111. 23:56listen to be Clear Channel the breakthroughs that I'm going to share I'm making it sound like you know there's some major [ __ ] idea
112. 24:09here this is this relatively straightforward stuff um but it kind of addresses what pate's talking about is that where how I've been
113. 24:24thinking about AI historically and by historically I mean over the past year and a half historically on this channel
114. 24:36is this is the AI learning lab right and so my thought was there's going to be a handful of tools the way these these
115. 24:44Tech eras play out is that you know there's lots of fits and starts and you kind of consolidate the three major players
116. 24:52and you know you can figure it out relatively quickly well what's happening with with AI is that the tools are so
117. 25:00good and so capable and there are so many of them that the normal sort of sort of swelling of you know capabilities and then reconsolidating
118. 25:11like it just continues to expand and and the capabilities are really good but every single tool without without exception every single
119. 25:25tool is jankier than crap right they're just they're just some days you use chat GPT or gemini or Claude and you're like oh my God this is
120. 25:36the best thing ever it did everything perfectly and the next day you're like could you just write a [ __ ] sentence
121. 25:42and and you can't get it to do anything so so the thing that that has been striking me over the past month or
122. 25:55so is I've I've experienced it myself and I've seen other people do it where they'll start with one outcome in mind and they'll pick a
123. 26:09tool and they'll try to get that thing done and then what ends up happening is maybe they try a different tool or
124. 26:21two or maybe it's in that one same tool but the AI does something unexpected like maybe it fails at the initial thing that they tried but it
125. 26:33does something else really well or I'll share an example um my friend Kevin Clark who's who's the he heads up content
126. 26:44Evolution he gave me some recordings of his father and his father's sister talking about their life growing up on
127. 26:51the railroad um their father helped build the tracks across our country from like Texas to Chicago and they lived on
128. 26:59the tracks as the tracks were being built it was cool story right and so so I threw it into a transcriber that that
129. 27:06I made for storyvine and then we took the transcripts and we popped them into um what did I pop it into must have just been chat
130. 27:16PT I think it was just chat PT and man it like instantly brought the story to life and and so what what Kevin
131. 27:26was thinking about doing he's a pretty serious guy he used to run IBM's Global brand the guy has it going on and so he
132. 27:32was going to write a book right a novel a fictionalized novel of of his dad and his dad's sisters and life on the rails
133. 27:43and what chat GPT created was like like it it really just brought this thing to life and I just said this offhanded
134. 27:52comment to him I said I think this would make a good children's book and for 4 hours later he sent Cindy [ __ ] and I an
135. 28:01email with illustrations and copy for a children's book and and his children's book about you know his his uh father
136. 28:11and aunt aunt yeah um growing up on the rails is now you know being designed by a book designer and it's going to go into
137. 28:22production and so it's what's starting to strike me and here's here's where it's like this is different than than what we've done before is
138. 28:33that any work that you set out to do what would have historically taken you an hour or two to put together you can now um use one of these
139. 28:47tools to put it together in 10 or 15 minutes and where I had been historically was okay I go into chat GPT
140. 28:56I want to make a business plan I make a business plan and then maybe I just keep refining that business plan for the rest of the
141. 29:04hour that's not where my head is right now where my head is right now is okay I got to make a business plan what if I take that hour and in
142. 29:14that hour I say let me go do one in perplexity that's going to be research heavy let me go do one in Claude that's
143. 29:21going to have some interactive elements because because it's got this artifacts programming thing in it let me go into
144. 29:29um open AI 01 preview reasoning engine and see what that does and let me do another right do different tools go into
145. 29:37notebook LM and turn it into a podcast so attack the exact same problem with multiple tools with less of an expectation of the specific
146. 29:50outcome and then I I think a couple of things happen if you have a day like Pates having where all of the tools tools seem
147. 29:58to be failing him you have a you have a much higher chance of you know getting one of those tools to actually do
148. 30:05something for you but if if you also sort of let the strength of the tool lead lead where you're going in the output
149. 30:14you might end up with very different outputs than you intended when you went in now if you just need a marketing plan
150. 30:20and that's all you were asked for you have to do that then do that the old way but if you're like I'm thinking of
151. 30:26starting a business and I want to do this thing attack it with multiple tools with less expectations of the outcomes and let the
152. 30:35tools kind of inspire you that's sort of where my head is and so that's what I figured we'd explore tonight so all
153. 30:42right I could try that with personal rebranding it would be interesting yeah exactly it's creating yeah exactly June
154. 30:48Mary it's yeah it's it's creating it's and it's one of one of the other things that came up in the office hours today or
155. 31:00maybe it was the meeting before that um some people are having good success they'll go into Claude and have Claude
156. 31:09ingest something and process it and turn it into an outline or whatever structured notes and then they'll take
157. 31:15that CLA output that CL that claw output and put that into chat GPT and have it work on it and it makes the chat GPT
158. 31:24stuff better so you can start seeding [ __ ] that's created in tool a in tool C and and then take it back to Tool
159. 31:32B and refine that and then go oh that's an idea for Tool D so take the same hour but instead of thinking of it like this
160. 31:42linear single output progression think of it like parallel processing that's where my head is all right yes I've been using all kinds of
161. 31:52avenues for an outcome equals dopamine it is totally I mean it that kind of working the way I'm describing uh if you're neuros spicy and
162. 32:03have the ADHD thing going um it's going to be fun for you if you don't have that um it's probably going to be
163. 32:11torture but I think no matter how your brain works experimenting with with tools that allow you to go wider and deeper in the same
164. 32:25amount of time I think is incredibly powerful we can only strive to be like Pate all right we have an internal tool where we
165. 32:32can compare various models with the same prompts it's nice that's great I agree parallel yeah yeah it really helps I also like to take
166. 32:44multiple media offshoots of lots of things yeah exactly yeah here's a poem here's a song Here's here's a business
167. 32:51plan here's a you know here's a uh here's a children's book here's a what whatever it is um what did we do today um one of the
168. 33:02guys in content evolution in collab today oh this is where it started he said this is how the whole thing started it was Joe gaml he said
169. 33:12um he's in the middle of this project where they've done surveys of people so they've got all this survey input and
170. 33:20they've got this these worksheets that they've worked through that led up to the surveys and that everyone did their
171. 33:26work in and then they've got the outputs of those and the surveys and the thing and I said why don't you take all that
172. 33:31put it in Notebook LM and generate a podcast and I was like oh but wait maybe you could also take it into Claud and
173. 33:39tell it to make an interactive dashboard and then if you haven't seen 01 you know reasoning engine from open
174. 33:46AI you got to see that so I was just taking this same idea of his and just showing him different things he could do
175. 33:52the different strengths of these tools and as I was doing it his jaw was literally dropping open like he he was
176. 34:01like wait it what with the notebook LM thing and then and then when he saw the CLA thing make the interactive dashboard he was like
177. 34:10huh and then and then when when he when he watched the the reasoning engine do its reasoning he was flabbergasted and and it just struck me
178. 34:23that that ability and and that ability to [ __ ] around right you know [ __ ] around and find out this is like [ __ ]
179. 34:31around and produce some good [ __ ] um will I like this if I'm add but I took my meds today if you took your meds
180. 34:43it'll be a bit of a a challenge you'll be able to focus on each tool better I am surprised I gave up my meds
181. 34:51ages ago I'm surprised every day how far ahead this group is than the rest of the population that's amazing that's really
182. 34:58cool well and I'll tell you what it is it's you know I'd love to Pat myself on the back and take credit for it it it
183. 35:04really isn't me other than making the space the reason this channel works the reason this community works the reason
184. 35:11the AI Salon is as valuable as it is is that everyone shows up and is staying in this conversation right I'm creating the space to have
185. 35:23this conversation but you all showing up with this adventurous attitude and this curiosity and this willingness to play and be
186. 35:33brave and go ah [ __ ] it I'll try a new tool that's everything because I like I I deeply deeply deeply deeply deeply
187. 35:42deeply deeply deeply believe that that Curiosity that willingness to not be the expert right now is the single most
188. 35:56important skill you can have and it's not even a skill it's a it's an attitude it's an aptitude and you should think about the
189. 36:05people in your life or in your work life or your professional life that have that Curiosity have that sense of
190. 36:14adventure and you should start hanging out with them and getting them involved with this AI stuff because that sense of adventure is
191. 36:23is everyone in here that's kicking ass and taking names with AI has it in Spades you know Source camp that just
192. 36:32said she's surprised every day you know how far ahead we are here she's reinvented herself and her business I don't know 15 times in the
193. 36:42past year and a half yes the willingness to just try just try exactly the willingness to just try because the tools are now getting so good
194. 36:58right they're getting so good that all you have to do is just try you don't have to be a technologist you know it wasn't until
195. 37:06Amelia's wife said that um that I even thought about how many hours I'd put in yeah this is this
196. 37:21weird thing we have here where we hang out together and just play and sometimes sometimes you listen to me and sometimes you don't and
197. 37:29sometimes it's funny and sometimes it's painful but all the times it's here and you're here and you're off
198. 37:39playing you're trying something you're like oh I can ignore him for now I've heard this story before right and but you go off and you

200. 37:54perfect client curious forward thinking early adopter there you you go yep and what will be frustrating what I find frustrating what
201. 38:07I know Source Camp finds frustrating A lot of people in here find frustrating is that as you start to get your head around what's
202. 38:19possible when you talk to people who are not in this every day you sound like a [ __ ] crazy person yeah like but but I can talk to it and
203. 38:34it it can speak in in Africans and it can write poetry and it can it can make tongue twisters and it can even say them
204. 38:41and it can say them really fast and it can people like what you're like no I go into this thing and I just I tell it to
205. 38:48write a song and then a minute later I've got a song and it's really good and you want to hear one and you play the
206. 38:54song and they're like wait hey I did that you're like yeah isn't it amazing and they're like it's theft right you're like wait
207. 39:02no just could you should you should try it it's [Music] weird so I think we'll I think I'll I'll
208. 39:19show you I'm going to walk you through what I showed Joe gaml so so I did this in my 10:00 meeting and then I showed the
209. 39:29people at the 11:00 meeting and they seem to dig it and I just I've been processing it all day and it really it really is some kind
210. 39:38of breakthrough for me I don't quite I don't quite know what it is yet like my past month ever since 01 came out has been um
211. 39:59it's been frustrating I feel like one of my great skills one of the things that add's given me is the ability to synthesize things
212. 40:11really fast I don't need much information give me three data points I'll put it together I'll have a whole
213. 40:18picture of what whatever the [ __ ] thing is that's a gift and it's a it's a gift and it's a habit right it's it's like it's like how
214. 40:30I can come up with ideas it's how I can when I'm talking to people oh you should try this you should try that which is
215. 40:36probably annoying as [ __ ] but it's just it's the only way my brain works and so with this AI stuff the inputs are relatively
216. 40:49simple you got a tool that has compressed all of human knowledge into a little ball do a little gold button you can make
217. 41:00Mone and all of human knowledge is sitting inside this little golden button and all you have to do is ask it for
218. 41:09what you want and squit out the other side come some version of what you want that's really simple conceptually
219. 41:19right so the way my brain thinks is I there's not that many outputs I should be able to figure this out like this and I can't and here's
220. 41:29why it's too big it's too what do you mean you can ask it anything and it can do anything yeah it it's that so like how
221. 41:43do you categorize that how do you think about work in that context where's the boundary between creative work and business work where's
222. 41:54the boundary between personal work and professional work where's the boundary between what I contribute and what the machine
223. 42:03contributes it's it's all really blurry right now like it it it does feel like it it actually kind of feels like the new chat

225. 42:30everything and nothing all at the same time that's an interesting way to look at it it's kind of like a blank canvas

321. 59:57dozens hundreds thousands of tools that all take advantage of the same basic architecture and and are giving all of us kind of infinite
322. 1:00:11superpowers to do whatever the hell we want to do so you may feel very behind but we're actually very very early if you're here

336. 1:02:21here's here's what I'm going to do I'm going to take the same idea and kind of explore it in in different
337. 1:02:29tools and just show you how I'm thinking about these things and and and how you might think about them so don't think of
338. 1:02:36these so much as you know oh that's a tool I got to use for this or that's a tool I got to use for that think of
339. 1:02:41these more like take a single idea and explore it across these tools so this is the first one is is notebook LM thing
340. 1:02:49about notebook LM it's been around for I don't know 18 months no not 18 months 8 months something like that um it's been
341. 1:02:59around for a while and some people were really big fans of it and the way it works is I'll just show you a very simple one this is a um a
342. 1:03:11notebook for a book that I'm working on with Kevin Clark called collective intelligence we're going to I think it's going to launch in the
343. 1:03:21next two weeks um we're going to make it put it in the world in the next two weeks so um the way this works is you
344. 1:03:30upload a source and down the left hand side here you've got your sources so these might be PDF documents these might
345. 1:03:38be URLs um they just added in the past no they just added yesterday you can actually include um YouTube URLs you
346. 1:03:49can upload audio files so if you have an audio recording of a podcast you can just pop it in here um this is using
347. 1:03:57Gemini technology on the back end and it can and you basically just start chatting with your your work your PDFs so this is
348. 1:04:07kind of like a poor man's rag if you've heard of the term rag retrieval augmented generation this is just kind
349. 1:04:12of like instant rag you just upload some data documents to it and you start chatting with it and I know the
350. 1:04:18technical people on the call it's not technically a rag and I know whatever so I said poor men's rag okay but so if if I want I could say
351. 1:04:29um explain okay let's see um let me show you just how a general prompt would work in this um write me a Shakespearean style
352. 1:04:47sonnet that oops sonnet that explains this book to me in easy to understand
353. 1:05:08terms and so just like um you know just like chat GPT it'll it'll answer it oops um in this new age where machines
354. 1:05:17now think a book is WR on changes sharp Brink it speaks of knowledge locked away and how AI might light the day
355. 1:05:26the future work transformed reborn with agile teams did Str old structures torn man's cleverness combined with might of
356. 1:05:35ai's grasp on day and night yet keep in mind though words seem bright these tools possess no Inner Light with
357. 1:05:44empathy we shape their use for common good not to abuse so let us learn what this book saith and build a world of joy and fath
358. 1:05:56that's pretty good okay so you can write a little Sonet about your your book you're writing great now so in this case the guy that I was
359. 1:06:06talking to Joe gaml he had the the framework the the workbook that they worked from he had survey results he had
360. 1:06:15answers from you know their the work workshops that they did and he had those all as as documents so he would have
361. 1:06:22just uploaded them into here and then he could have just said I want an interview guide you know for someone to interview
362. 1:06:29people about this project and and this thing would have created it right so he could have just used notebook LM to just
363. 1:06:38do that right he wanted an interview guide he comes in he puts his content in here he says give me an interview guide
364. 1:06:44he goes back and forth with it four times he finally gets it dialed into where he he likes uh let's see you're

373. 1:07:45interview guide and I'd say okay I'm done check it off the list efficiency gained yay AI you've replaced a job yay
374. 1:07:55in my new way of thinking I'm like well what else can this thing do that might just be an interesting experiment well if you haven't
375. 1:08:04seen notebook LM before this is going to blow your [ __ ] mind so you click on this in the lower right hand corner there's this thing
376. 1:08:13that says notebook guide and when you pop open notebook guide It's a guide and it it like here's a summary of all of
377. 1:08:21the all of the data that we have uploaded here this gives you a summary of it and then it says help me create an
378. 1:08:27FAQ about this a study guide a table of contents a timeline a briefing document or here is suggested suggested questions
379. 1:08:36you could ask about this book so this is a whole thing that's going to help you take in whatever is the data that you've
380. 1:08:44uploaded and summarize it in all sorts of crazy and interesting ways but in the upper rightand corner here is this thing called audio
381. 1:08:53overview now notebook lm's been out for eight months no one really cared about it some people did there were people that were fans of
382. 1:09:02it and like for the past 6 months people said Kyle you really got to talk talk about notebook LM I'm like yeah yeah
383. 1:09:08whatever loser I I just didn't take it in right and then they released this little feature so about a week and a
384. 1:09:16half two weeks ago they just stuck inside buried inside this subfeature of a sub feature Fe of this pretty incredible tool They
385. 1:09:28just added this thing and and what it says here is load the conversation but if if you haven't created something here
386. 1:09:34before it'll say create an audio overview that's a deep dive of two people talking back and forth in English but listen to this so so you
387. 1:09:45just push the generate button and about two or three minutes later something like this comes out for your project all right So today we're
388. 1:09:55going to dive into something kind of mindblowing yeah the future of intelligence it's a big one but we're
389. 1:10:01not talking you know like those Sci-Fi movies with robots taking over right this is different this is about humans
390. 1:10:08and AI like teaming up yeah to become something even smarter than we could be on our own like unlocking superpowers we
391. 1:10:16never thought of exactly yeah and to help us explore this we've got collective intelligence in the age of AI
392. 1:10:23great book great book and you know the authors Kevin Clark and Kyle Shannon they're not just talking about this
393. 1:10:30stuff they're actually out there building it yeah they're really making it happen with their company content
394. 1:10:35Evolution bringing together all these Brilliant Minds okay so now I've got a podcast of my book the book hasn't been published yet and these
395. 1:10:47two objective NPR style podcaster people are talking about my book and they're talking about it like
396. 1:10:55they they're like blowing Sunshine up my ass they're like H that's a really interesting idea I hadn't thought of
397. 1:11:01that boy they're really coming at this from all sorts of crazy angles like it's it's just it's just wild um and so so
398. 1:11:10this is one tool right so I've come in here to create an interview guide and if I just take a small moment to instead of
399. 1:11:18say I need an interview guide and I just want to be more efficient I come in and I say what does this tool make POS
400. 1:11:26possible in addition to my interview guide so that's one thing okay so now I'm going to flip over to Claude so
401. 1:11:41Claude um where are my projects yeah here we go okay so Claude if you don't know Claude Claude is very similar to chat GPT
402. 1:11:56it's created by a company called anthropic um it is a bunch of exop aai employees so when the when the leadership of open
403. 1:12:09AI flees from open AI they tend to go and you know collaborate and and and uh coals in other corners of the AI universe and
404. 1:12:21anthropic is one of those so this is again a very similar tool to chat GPT um Joe could have taken his his data
405. 1:12:30points put him in here and said hey Claude make me an interview guide and this would have also just made him an interview guide
406. 1:12:40but what we did today is I uploaded the collective intelligence book and instead of excuse me instead of saying make me an interview
407. 1:12:50guide I said in fact you know what I'm going to no I I'll show it to you like this and then and then I'll show you how how it works okay
408. 1:12:59um I uploaded the book and then my prompt was make me an interactive dashboard that is a teaching tool for
409. 1:13:08the concepts in the book so I'm going to click on this thing and it's going to open this window over on the side and so
410. 1:13:15what Claude actually does this is a a feature called artifacts and doesn't it really make you want to
411. 1:13:24read your book out loud there's a ton of stuff to know about would taking Google courses be a good idea well it's not a
412. 1:13:34bad idea Michael but here here's the challenge there are so many tools so so Google if you want to be a developer taking Google courses is
413. 1:13:45probably not a bad idea cuz cuz a lot of the Google tools are really designed for developers like access to the 1.5 Pro
414. 1:13:54Gemini model model you actually do it inside the development tool um notebook LM is is a a relatively um consumer
415. 1:14:05grade um application right not designed for developers if you want to be a developer it's not bad but that's just
416. 1:14:13giving you you know a single company's view of the world you've got meta doing major AI work you've got Google doing
417. 1:14:21major AI work you've got anthropic you've got open AI you've got Microsoft like there are tons take any class but
418. 1:14:30don't pay more than 50 bucks I think that's an appropriate uh an appropriate statement Cosmic lover anything you can do to get your
419. 1:14:38head around this stuff I say do it don't think that anyone's got this figured out here here's here's here's my
420. 1:14:47thing if you want to get into the tech side of this and the mathematics side of this and you know building Frontier
421. 1:14:53models and and you know being under the hood there's plenty of courses on that if you want to have your head
422. 1:15:00around the applications of tools like chat GPT everyone's trying to figure that out because the tools keep changing
423. 1:15:08so fast so don't think that there's any single Source okay all right so so what you're looking at here is
424. 1:15:18code that when I asked it to write an interactive dashboard it wrote this code and then it lets you preview it so here
425. 1:15:26is a little application about my book collective intelligence in the age of AI it's an interactive dashboard here's an
426. 1:15:33overview tab that's got the three main Concepts in it here are key Concepts here are some visualizations or a
427. 1:15:41visualization that it came up with from the book and then here's a little quiz it's like Okay cool so that was cool and
428. 1:15:48then it did that and it told me about it and then I said oh you know what I I want you to build a scenario plan instead that
429. 1:15:57shows life with collective intelligence approach with and without collective intelligence with lots of levers to
430. 1:16:05change the outcomes and so it created this thing just [ __ ] bonkers the collective intelligence scenario planner so it took Core
431. 1:16:17Concepts in our book AI adoption collaboration level data sharing ethical framework and education investment and
432. 1:16:26it put them all at 50% and then down here it says here's what the future looks like with collective intelligence
433. 1:16:32and without collective intelligence and then watch this as I slide these sliders the graphs change so I can go in here and say okay
434. 1:16:44well we're not going to really invest in education um we care a lot about ethics um we don't have a lot of data to share
435. 1:16:51we're going to we're going to be really proprietary about our data we'll do medium collaboration and then we're
436. 1:16:57going to go all in on AI and you can even notice that when the bars get to the top of this is 60% when they go
437. 1:17:05above 60% it resets the the scale to 80 80% and so I mean holy crap and then there there's the scenario analysis that
438. 1:17:17explains how to do it Kyle can can we see the prompt one more time yes of course but again I don't want you to think like
439. 1:17:27this is I am not a prompt engineer I was just [ __ ] around right right I was just showing Joe in fact this is this is one of the
440. 1:17:38interesting things I'll show you the prompt in a second when we got to the end of this exercise Joe said okay so I
441. 1:17:44should use Claude to make interactive dashboards we're like no you can use Claude to do all the [ __ ] you would do with chat gbt and
442. 1:17:55you can make interactive dashboards but you could also tell it to make you a video game that teaches the concepts of your book
443. 1:18:03or just like literally anything if you have an idea for an application just ask for it and it'll build it but but the prompt that I wrote
444. 1:18:13was I want you to build a scenario planner instead right so it had built that other thing that that just showed
445. 1:18:22the concept it's kind of a lame ass app and so I wanted something that was going to be more interactive so I Saidi want
446. 1:18:27you to build a scenario planner instead that shows life without collective intelligence approach wait with with
447. 1:18:34collective intelligence approach and without and lots of levers to change the outcomes like this is a horrible prompt
448. 1:18:42right this is a horrible prompt like it's it's completely non-specific right this is if if I were working with pate
449. 1:18:49and I gave him that prompt he'd be like dude you're fired you can't work here anymore well I I he would have fired me long ago
450. 1:18:57but that's not the point it's smart enough to know what that means and then it just goes and writes the code and and you're like what do you
451. 1:19:11mean it writes the code well here watch let's go to the bottom and we'll say um let's see what do we what do we want to do
452. 1:19:39um okay for the interactive sliders rather than outputting a bar chart I want you
453. 1:19:55to Output a dynamic word cloud that reconfigures itself based on the slider
454. 1:20:11input and so it's thinking thinking it's going to go certainly I'll do that and there it is writing the code so
455. 1:20:21again if you're new here if you've never watched this tool or any of these tools write code this is not teaching me to write
456. 1:20:31python this is not teaching me to write HTML or whatever the [ __ ] it's writing in it's writing it and then it's going to run
457. 1:20:40it now will it work I don't know sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't these tools are janky as [ __ ] but I'll
458. 1:20:47tell you what if you've never coded in your life before and you see it do this holy crap right now it didn't pop over let's see
459. 1:21:01the preview oh there's there we go so let's see if I change the yeah there you go so it's a janky word cloud but as I move
460. 1:21:13these sustainability and social equity and quality of life go up as I increase the ethical framework collaboration level goes up
461. 1:21:26how does the words change they don't but let's say no AI adoption let's see let's get rid of ethic ethics ethics are a waste let's

467. 1:22:27a good idea to create and then it created that podcast for me I'm like oh [ __ ] that's cool then I came in here now
468. 1:22:33I've got an interactive application you know what else I can do down in the lower right hand corner do you know what this says publish
469. 1:22:43publish um the person asking about repet and cursor um yes I've seen them both um repet for me is the one for for non
470. 1:22:54developers that is the most magical because it doesn't require you to to have developer knowledge of things like
471. 1:23:02development environments and databases and front-end Frameworks and and servers it just does all that [ __ ] for you so I
472. 1:23:12don't know cursor because my technical ability is is I would say probably just below that I could figure it out but I
473. 1:23:20don't feel like it um so if you're a developer cursor sound sounds pretty [ __ ] amazing um but even if you're a
474. 1:23:27developer or you're a non-developer repet is absolutely insane in fact I've got um a video I had a pretty big Kevin
475. 1:23:35McAllister moment with repet in here um where I had it create an application and it was absolutely nuts hang on the dog's

489. 1:26:18accomplish what you're going in for but to do whatever like learn these tools well enough to know that they can do

491. 1:26:41literacy as as this thing that looks kind of silly where does it publish to I think it just publishes it just gives
492. 1:26:50you a URL Genie and then they're hosting all these all these applications so you can just give someone that URL to that

494. 1:27:12this we discovered this after a year or so of people telling us how remarkable being part of the AI Salon was and and
495. 1:27:22we started interviewing people well what's remarkable about it and and there was lots it was the people and it was the knowledge and it

502. 1:28:25learned enough about some tools to say oh I actually want to try something and she started making images in mid Journey or something like
503. 1:28:34that and then as she started to do that she started telling people what she was learning and how she was learning and
504. 1:28:39things like that so she started generously leading and so we ended up articulating it in these three modes just play play with these tools
505. 1:28:51they're changing so fast that if you were if you were a master of all of the AI Tools in July you're going to feel relatively
506. 1:29:00clueless right now because they're all different Everything's changed the interfaces have changed the capabilities
507. 1:29:07have changed there's completely new things like 01 preview from chat GPT is not chat GPT it's a different thing I
508. 1:29:16don't even know what it is so I'm back to playing first with with 01 preview because I don't know how to use it so I
509. 1:29:23just got to play with it and at some point I'll get my head around it and then I go oh I know what i' do with that and then I'll mindfully
510. 1:29:30create something and as I'm doing that I'm hopefully generously leading and telling people what I'm learning and and
511. 1:29:36I I still feel clueless me too exactly Cloud Tech goddess yeah I honest to God it's just like I have I have never in my
512. 1:29:46life learned so much and felt so clueless if you're absolutely 100% % clueless you are you're like
513. 1:30:010.00001% behind where anyone else is right now like you're barely behind because everything is changing so fast

518. 1:30:47would say are you personally using chat GPT oh no not a single well no hick and Loopers staffer did out of six people I met with
519. 1:31:01five of them we're not using AI at all you know this is at the highest level of our government um you got to play with this
520. 1:31:13[ __ ] you got to understand not only what it can do for you today but like what it's making possible and and
521. 1:31:21how quickly it's changing it's going to to change how we work so anyway play play play play play if you're feeling like I don't know how to

562. 1:38:30kind of the progression that I showed him and in showing them to him I realized that there's a completely new
563. 1:38:36way of working that is foreign to me I've never thought about this because I've never had tools capable of allowing me to think like this
564. 1:38:46that rather than just solving one problem with one tool have one problem you want to solve but solve it solve the
565. 1:38:54same problem with multiple tools and then go beyond solving that specific problem and just do some other [ __ ] do
566. 1:39:01some ancillary [ __ ] take the same hour that you would have taken to just do that one thing and just go do a pile of
567. 1:39:08[ __ ] okay so the third tool we're looking at so we look first at notebook LM we created a podcast on top of
568. 1:39:16the interview guide then we went to Claude and we created an interactive application on top of the interview
569. 1:39:24guide and now we're at chat GPT 4 so I could just go into chat GPT 4 um and um and ask it to make an interview guide but if you haven't been
570. 1:39:39paying super close attention to chat GPT and why would you about two weeks ago they announced this thing 01 preview and it it it was
571. 1:39:50called project strawberry and there was all this hype on it and then when they released it people sort of got it but
572. 1:39:56sort of didn't and people like David Shapiro said oh there's no real magic there it's just a piece of crap it's
573. 1:40:03just Chain of Thought reasoning there's there's nothing to look at here let's keep it moving people um but it uses
574. 1:40:10what's called Chain of Thought reasoning which is just a fancy term to say it prompts itself to kind of it takes it takes your prompt
575. 1:40:24and then it it reasons it sort of prompts itself to Think Through multiple steps to give you the best possible
576. 1:40:32answer and so it's not something you would use all the time but I'm going to flip over to this and I'm going to go let me go

641. 1:52:09now you got to start looking at playing enough with looking at all these moving parts and and
642. 1:52:26just throw [ __ ] at it like I wish I I wish I had more concrete advice but like I don't like I think it's and here's the other thing

655. 1:54:39thing and use at least three different tools I don't care what the tools are if it's music find three different music
656. 1:54:47making tools if it's art find three different art tools if it's something with words and ideas three different
657. 1:54:55llms use at least three different tools to execute that single idea with three different tools but then
658. 1:55:05dig deeper with each of the tools and generate some other output make a picture make a application make a make a something that is outside
659. 1:55:20of your comfort zone make a something that is not what you expected Cosmic lover you saved my life guys awesome that's great this groups
